My kids are off school by one o'clock. Quite right. Speaking of kids, if I talked about the fact that my daughter's enrolled me into the school concert, where parents have to get involved, she's put me down for cello. You can't play the cello, darling. I played the cello when I was 11. I know, darling, and you didn't get a scholarship on the basis of your cello play. No, I bloody didn't because I'm not very good, but the teacher thought that it would be very special because she's on strings.

I said, can't I be in the choir? She said, Emily's mum sings. I mean, I'm a singer, babe. And she went, Emily's mom sings. Who said that, the teacher? No, my daughter. Oh, well, can't you? So I'm on cello. I'm going to have to cut these falsies off.

Yeah. And open your legs. Yep. That went really south. Yeah. Also, I just tried to make cold brew at my house. What's cold brew? Cold brew's like, what I now understand, intense coffee.

So I was like, God, this is delicious. It's like a, you know, an ice latte. I think I've actually ingested about the equivalent of 10 espresso. I think I can feel that. The energy in this. room. I'm freaking out, then. You're talking a lot, darling.

I'm gurning, I'm freaking out. I've got heart palpitations and I've taken it. I'm worried about this guest coming on. Who have we got? Oh, we've got someone really fabulous. Yeah. She is absolutely gorgeous. Yeah.

She's modelled. She's acted and she sing. This is her third album, I think. It's called Love Land. It's wonderful album. She's very sexy. Very sexy. She's got a great voice.

And she's got a song called Tiny. Raisin that I need to understand why it's called Tiny Raisin. Because I think it's about Robert Patterson. Oh, wow. We knew this was going to be a squalcher. So, Lenny, what have you made today? I've made a chicken and mango and sober noodle salad. Yum.

Salad. Whose recipe? It's a New York Times recipe. Who's the chef? I don't know. She has a lot. Check them, yeah. I just let in check them.

I think it's someone called Susan. Susan. But it might not be. Hold on, I'll check. How do you stop, like, a coffee hitting so hard? Susan Spungan. Okay. And it's chicken and mango sober salad with peanut dressing.

Have you made your sober noodles already? Everything's done. Okay. It's all in the fridge. It's all in the fridge cold. Yeah. And I'll put it together at the last minute. Do we want bread rolls?

Because I can put them in the air fryer. Do you think anyone will need a bread roll? I may need one to soak up this caffeine. And then for dis... And I'm just putting a little green salad on the side in case anyone needs it. And then I've made a gooseberry tart. Oh, gozgogs.

Do you call them goose gogs? Sorry, what? Gus gogs. That's what everyone always used to call them. That sounds like a posh person. Gus gogs are... If anyone heard that Gozbury is called Goodscog. Yeah.

Hello. Looking glowy. gorgeous, quite cool. So do you actually. We all are glowing because I feel overglowned. Because we're on the hottest day so far of the year, I think. I think of the century. I think it's going to be the

hottest day in June ever. Brits really like a stat in the summer, don't know? I'm obsessed. Since I've been back in England the last few months, I'm obsessed with the weather app. I'm watching BBC News. Last night I was watching the roundup of the weather. I get obsessed about it when I come back here.

Is it because you kind of are consumed by stressing out about it or is it just kind of the intrigue of like where what strappy dress am I going to wear today? It's the intrigue. I really love talking about the weather. Do you? That's because you're British.

But do you think, because are you based in New York or L.A? I'm sort of like, I'm sort of floating around. I'm a bit of, we're a bit, we're a bit floaty. We're depending on filming schedules and tour and all that kind of stuff. But now I'm back here for quite a long time and going on tour.

But we're sort of based here for this. end of the year. When do you go on tour? Next week. On Saturday. You're going tour ahead of the album being out. No, so I'm actually, well, I'm going out there starting rehearsals, doing a bit of promo, and then July 27th I'll be on tour. So it's funny this time with the album, I've made the album and I'm kind of immediately going on tour like two weeks after doing the record. Do you do that? I'm going on tour in October. So no, I haven't done it so close. But that's, I mean, this is your third album. Congratulations. Thank you. Love, Land. Thank you.

It's very sexy. It's cheeky. It's just like you. It's just like you. Can I remind you the first time we met? I don't know if you remember. Remind me. We were at the Ephra pub in Brixton and you joined my friend.

The Ephra. And you ordered a Baileys. Oh, I do remember that. And I was probably the only time I had a bunch of Pais. Because I was like, who's this cute girl that's ordering a bailey's at the pub? And I remember it so well because I thought it was actually quite genius. Yeah, I don't. I don't, haven't drunk a Bailey's since actually.

I must have been trying, oh no, wait, I was in a Bailey's phase. I love Bayley's. I still love babies so much. Me too. I don't think it was even in wintertime. So that's why I found it, because you know, we all have a Bayleys at Christmas. Well, you have Bayle's. You were having one in like the summer and I'm like, who is this girl?

Yeah, see, we have Bayle's with ice. Don't you remember when we go to Augustus? Often we have Bayle's with ice in the evening. I think that's when I was underage, Mom. Okay, sorry. And it was like you allowing me to have a drink whilst we watch Mama Mia and then out for cinema. It's like a little cappuccino. It's like milky.

Delicious. Do you guys like Pinacoladas? I do. I haven't had one this year. That's so good. Is that your favourite? Pinacolada is pretty delicious. Oh, so mine is Cosmo.

Cosmo is great. My very best. What's the one with egg? I went through a bit of... Piscco sour? Amaretto sour? Oh, Amarito sour. Does that have egg in it?

Apparently, yeah. That's used to. I used to just get so pissed on that. Me too. I used to because they were really sugary. That was my drink of like going out. Do you like maconis? Yes.

I'm really into apparel spritz at the moment. Do you? Why? I had a couple last night. Why do you like them? Just refreshing. I don't feel that hung over today. No, not at all.

And they go down really quickly. I watch that. That's what I was drinking. Watched the football last night. When you have the apparel spritzsche in as well as soda water. Yes, prosceco is. Okay. That's the only thing that puts me off it.

Because I don't like prosceco. I can't taste it. But that's the thing. I don't ever want to taste drinks. I really like a whiskey. and Coke, but that's... You sing about that. That's a lyric in the album.

Which song is that one? Jutebox. Jutebox, yeah. Whiskey and Coke. So that is, what whiskey are you going for? Anything, to be honest. I'm not very good at making drinks. This is just stuff that I would order,

but I just don't really want to taste that alcohol ever. Can we talk about tiny raisin? I love that song. She often know who it's about. I think I know who it's about, but I need to know, is that your nickname or is it that... No, no. No, so are you talking about?

the title. Yes. I don't know about you. You don't mention tiny raisin in it. I do. Do you? Yes. It's in like the second line. But I got myself into it. I don't know if you ever get yourself into a massive pickle about not only choosing the songs, but also what to name them. Yes. And so that song really should be called That's My Man because that's the type. That's really the course. But I have this other song called Any Man. And then, you know, I'm naming everything, trying to decide what's going on the album. And I just get in a huge pickle. I'm like, I'm not having that's my man and any man. That's too many things about men.

That's too similar. Babe, I'm with you. And then I start getting myself. So it was tiny raisin. So the lyric at the beginning is I've been lying in the bathtub till I'm a tiny raisin. Okay. Oh, it's not about someone's tiny raisin.

Oh, no. It's actually very generous song. Okay, sorry. It's a beautiful line about watching my kid in your arm. You sound like someone very close to me who said that's what it sounds like. And then it, so I should have just. called it, that's my man. No. Then I called it Tiny Raisin. Then it sounds like I'm talking about

someone's time. It's just an absolute nightmare. It's a generous song. Can we just say it's a generous song? It's also a love song. It's like a chaotic love song. Yeah, it's beautiful. It's not, you know, it's yeah. So then it turns, it sounds like it's, you know, some kind of toxic and like some kind of stat. No. Oh no. But yeah, so that got me into a right old pickle. But basically I thought Tiny Raisin would be a good title because it's sort of, it's what happens to you when you're in the bar for too long. And you're kind of, you know, you've been there for, I guess my reasoning behind it, I've been there for hours. I'm like, where's my dinner reservation? Where's the champagne?

Where's the flowers? You know, where's my loving? Yeah. Yeah. It's a great song. But everyone's completely confused by it. And I've, yeah. But it's a talking point.

There you go. There we go. And it is a great song. So I actually, I'm getting into this thing with people that's like, some people are like, oh, I hate raisins by themselves. or they have to be chocolate covered. Do you guys like... I love roses. Me too.

I love chocolate coloured. The ones in M&S, chocolate covered raisins. Imagine if you're a chocolate covered raisin today though, it's going to be like just everywhere. I think I started talking about it because I was talking to a friend about Alpin and someone saying, you know Alpin the cereal. I love Alpin so much. And someone was saying, oh, in our family everyone used to eat the raisins and take, you know, take their raisins out if you didn't like them.

Or, you know, it would be like some people love them. some people didn't like, we would always fight about the raisins. Everyone wanted the raisins. And then I would pick all of them out and that would be a, everyone would get in an argument about that in our family. I, for Alpin, it's the creaminess that comes out of it. Yeah. You've got four million milk in there.

You know why? There's dried milk in. Yeah, it's like formula. Yeah. So delicious. Can you get it in Los Angeles? I haven't tried actually. It's been such an English thing. I'm not sure you can get it in state.

Yeah, maybe not actually. That would be something that I might need to play. Well, everything's gluten-free and milk-free. and everything free, I think, there. Or it's like really just bad. Yeah. Yeah, it's either really bad or madly good. So you grew up West London.

I did. I was born in the Queen Charlotte's Hospital, which is the same one that you were born in. Oh my God, have we wicked. I was wicking you on the way over. That's so funny that they put that as your thing in a wicket. But actually, I weren't born in Queen Charlotte's Charlotte. Oh, wasn't I?

Born in West London Hospital. Which is now, which was, because it was on the edge of, you know, near Hammersmith's roundabout. It was a little place where they did modified La Boisbeaut. What does that mean? It meant you didn't have any pain relief. You had music in the background.

I had everything. I'd say, give me the lot. So that was a pointless. Yeah, it was a pointless place. No, I'm sure it was brilliant for many birthing people, but, you know. It was pointless for me because I didn't have a modified La Boisbeye birth. La Bois. I've never heard of L'Boyer.

La Bois was a Frenchman and he wanted dark lights. and you have music in the background. It sounds charming. It's so funny that you took the chronic piss out of me for wanting quite natural, going for quite a natural, holistic approach to birthing. You were like, oh, the God, you did exactly the same. But, darling, I wasn't a true polite you.

And I didn't have a award to birth. And I didn't have someone doing chakras over me like you did. Anyway, it sounds exactly like my mum about everything. And you also assume I was looking at your Wikipedia and you also kind of, you're quite similar to my mum. You've done quite similar things. Yeah, your mum's social work. And psychotherapy and doing court cases. Where was she a social worker?

She did, she was working at Place to Be, a charity. Oh, I think it's a wonderful charity. Yeah, it's a great place. It's fantastic. Yeah, doing stuff in the courts and representing. Yeah, place to be is such a great charity. So can you set the scene of who was around the dinner table and what were you eating in your childhood?

Yeah. Okay, so I'm one of four and the oldest of four. I've met your two sisters. Who are heaven. Oh, heaven. You're so lovely to each other. I love my sisters so much. And I also have a brother.

So the younger ones are twins. Okay. They're 27. Maddie and Charlie. Right. Yeah. Charlie's a social worker too, actually. Is that a girl or a boy?

A boy. A boy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where's his social? He works in Feltnam for the council, which is really, really tough. It must be tough. Yeah. Feltons are really tough.

Really, really tough. Yeah. So my brother's amazing and he's been doing that. Yeah, sort of since he was a teenager. And then my sister, yeah, sister Maddie. So there's four of us, dad and mum. So quite a big family. How many of the three of you?

Three of us. Yeah. So what were you eating? We were eating. cauliflower and cheese with baked beans a lot. Sounds delicious.

It's amazing. That was like one of the big... Would you have that not just on a roast day? No. I think my mom would just cauliflower and cheese in the oven. We were having lots of stews.

My mom's really big on stews. Chicken broth. Yeah, things that she could do for a long, you know, put on... Was she working always? Yeah, she was... My mom was a cancer nurse and then she stopped doing that when she had twins

and then she stopped for quite a few years and then she went back to doing psych therapy. Is that how your parents met? Because your dad's a doctor. Yeah, they met in a hospital. And it's funny story. My mum's version of it is that they met over this man who had a decaying buttock.

And my dad's version of the story is he kind of saw her on this ward and she was walking down the ward and he said he was dating every nurse. Decaying buttock. But my mum's like, no, we met. Because your dad's a plastic surgeon, so I guess he was sorting out for the bum. But he, well, no, no, because before you become a plastic surgeon, you have to do all these kinds of different. You have to be a surgeon.

I think you have to do, like, heart surgery. And you have to do a lot. I don't think you can just, like, go into, and it's craniofacial surgery. And he has a, yeah, he's done all, he sort of does a lot of things on, he was doing a lot of work on kids and facial deformities. He had a charity called Facing the World that he started, like, 25 years ago, which was they would fly over kids from all around the world. And some of them would stay with us for like nine months. And they would do like, you know, 10 surgeries. He's amazing. So he does, he does all the, you know, all the plastic surgery, boobs,

bums and face. But he does, he's always done like all this other stuff. So for some reason, there was a decaying buttock and that's where my mom thinks. I don't know where I'm going with the story. But regardless, they've been together for a long time. And they're doing great. I, that's, I mean, did you never fancy going into, uh, I don't think it was ever an option really? No. And I think, yeah, they were okay with that. But it was never, no, nothing about my grades, I guess, was ever screaming.

She's going to be a doctor. So I think, yeah, they, yeah, they didn't have that. They didn't kind of, my parents did you go to. I went to Ibstock. Oh, you went to his stock place. Yeah, yeah. That must have been fun. Yeah.

It's fun. So cauliflower cheese and baked beans because I guess your parents were working and it sounds a bit like my mom. She'd always have something in the pressure cooker and there would always be something. But like, would you say your mom's good cook? She's my dad, yeah, my mom is a great cook. I think she, yeah, she was, she's fantastic. And she definitely, she's, look, I don't think it's something she, did she enjoy doing that every single night? Me too.

Oh my God. I can't even imagine it because. when I think of having four kids and a husband coming home from work and that expectation to have dinner on the table every night while there's kids going on, homework going on, I mean, she just used to sometimes, we always laugh about it, but she would sometimes just lose it and go and sit in the car and we'd be like waving at her through the window.

But our house was quite chaotic. Really, I think all families are right, it was chaotic, especially in those years where the twins were younger and it went from two of us to four of us. But yeah, so I don't think it was always like pleasurable to be cooking all the time for us. And now she really, my dad loves it. And my dad's the kind of guy that's like,

oh my God, this look at it. Taste this tomato. It's just exquisite. And he'll, he sort of has taken over now. Oh, he's retired? No, he hasn't. But he'll still work. Yeah, he'll still work.

But he still works. But he's definitely, now they have a place in the countryside. And we all go down there and it's the kitchen. like really his place now. Are you a good cook? No. Just don't fancy it. I do, I do fancy it, but, and I'm going to, at some point.

And there have been times, like, there have been times I got a country house two years ago for a couple of weeks. I really got into it. Did you feel like you were like playing, cosplaying Tradwife? Yeah, and I just loved, I just loved it. I really fell in love with it. And you had the whole day to get into it and I got into recipes. So I can.

I think I can. But I think that for some reason that space and that time and thinking about it isn't in my... The thing is you've got to be... I think to... I mean, this podcast, we're preoccupied with food. We talk about recipes. We live and breathe food all the time. Takes over your life.

Yeah. And thank God you. You don't even have a cardo in the States if you're there. Oh, but you've got lots of other things. Have you? Oh, yeah. Do they deliver? Oh, within hours.

Yeah. Okay, that's fine. You've got Instacart, which is great. Oh, have you? And then you've got something called Postmates, which is sort of like, yeah, yeah, postmates. Postmates is great. And then you've got Uber Eats, but Instacart's quite incredible. You can even go all different, you can go to all different shops and then say, bring this all to me in an hour.

Yeah. I mean, America's got, it's got good. Okay. Yeah. So if we were coming around to yours. Yes. She's not going to talk. Would you be cooking?

She's ordering in. Would you order in? And if so, where are you ordering in from? I'd order in or where would we order in from if we're in London? I'm just thinking of what I did the other day. I got this really nice sort of porridge music. I think for breakfast. Okay.

Are you ordering for breakfast? No, I know. This is awful, isn't it? You want us in and out, Suki. She'll just, maybe this is what I did the other day. You put you an alpin a milk, Suki. I could. I could alpha in milk.

I could have. Okay, fine. Well, if I'm doing breakfast at home, fine. Yeah, if I'm doing breakfast at home, maybe I'll do some toast with banana and avocado because I can kind of feed myself. I think babies liking that. I'm enjoying that too. Banana and avocado. Yeah, mixed together.

So you're giving us weaning for this food. Is that winning? That is, we actually enjoying that on toast. Banana and avocado together. It's quite nice, though. Yeah. Maybe some honey on bread. Thank you. I'm trying.

Banana avocado. It's really nice. Banana avocado and honey. Well, no, maybe. And banana. Yeah, banana. Yeah. The honey separate.

Yeah. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. I'm a big end to honey. If I'm probably going to spoil you, I really like. I really like a jacket potato. I love a jacket potato.

I'm obsessed with jacket potato. What are your toppings? I love tuna, sweet corn, mayonnaise. Delicious. Bake beans. Cold or hot? Hot. Did you put cheese on your baked beans?

Yeah. I put cheese on underneath. And to be honest, and to be honest, if, if, sour cream and caviar at a restaurant on a jacket potato. Gorge. They serve it like that. The tiny little potatoes with caviar and sour cheese. I love that.

Chips, they do it now too. Is everyone hungry? Yes, I'm hungry. I'll just start. I forgot that we're going to get food. Oh, yeah, babe. Oh, you're not going to eat. Yes, she is eating.

Oh, yeah. No, no, no. I forgot that that actually happened. I actually was kind of was thinking like maybe they don't do that anymore. Oh, my God. No. God, whilst your stomach rumbled. I haven't, I didn't eat my breakfast.

Oh, babe. No, well, I'll let mum explain what we're having. But whilst mum gets the lunch ready, we could start on your last supper. On my last supper, my goodness. Start a main put, drink of choice. Drink of choice. I'm probably going to have a Coca-Cola, honestly. A Coca-Cola?

Yeah. Mexican-Cola. Lava Coca-Cola. What are you having? Glass bottle Coca-Cola. Are you having? Are you having glass of wine or something? Or are you having...

Oh, I'm having, like, many different things. Different drinks, yeah. Yeah. Like, you can do whatever you like. I do feel like Coca-Cola just makes me feel like that piece. Do you like the Mexican cola? No, I like the Mexican cola. I really like the full-fat Coke.

I don't like Diet Coke. I do think that Coke Zero did pretty well to try and replicate it. No. Okay, fair enough. I just don't feel it. No. Delicious. Really?

Yeah, no. Coke Zero. No, I love Coke. I actually really like direct Coke, too. Okay, okay. I like the morning. I wish I could because it's a crazy sugar addiction to have. Do you have one a week?

It depends. I think on tour it really kicks up. Oh, it's on your rider. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It really kicks up on tour. It's just something to bring me to life. What else do you have on your rider? I don't really.

I probably have peter bread, like very simple foods. Okay, yeah. I'm not trying to do anything that makes me feel dodgy before going on stage. Or like belchie. Yeah. No, belchie. In fact, that's always a mistake. Sometimes you go out for a drink or people are in town

and maybe you'll be able to go out for a little drink before. And then you're just burping the whole time. Shocker. So you've got to keep really, you've got to keep everything really clean, I think. Not too much. Before we go back to Last Supper, where are you starting your tour in the States? Yeah. Because you're quite massive in, I mean, your streaming numbers are insane.

Oh, that's so sweet. But like you had this big viral moment with... Which was so strange. Good looking. Yeah, because that song was... How did that happen? The weirdest story because that was, that song I put out, like, nine years ago, completely independently. I worked it up on Distro Kid.

I'd made it with my friends, Nat and Jules, who were the first people that I really started making music with. So I would put, like, one song out a year. And, yeah, and then, like, nine years later, it's all, like, strange. It's very, like, synchronicity sort of moment because I'd got my record together during the pandemic. pandemic. Yeah. Kind of like funded it myself. Yeah. Found a, found subop, the label that I put it out with. So that one, that record was just sort of, wasn't out yet, but it was kind of just about to go out. And then suddenly, the song that the label had actually asked me to take down, they'd asked me to take down all the old stuff because they wanted a fresh slate and no one really like cared for that song to be

honest or any of that stuff. And then, um, and then as that record was coming out, uh, the, The song suddenly... On TikTok? On TikTok. It's so mad. With no... You know, it was like... It couldn't have been less of an interest for the people on that side of the business.

And what was the kind of viral... Was there a dance with it? Was there something that everyone had to do? Or did it just get kind of passed around as a soundtrack to people doing stuff? It was... Was there a theme? The theme was sort of... Quite a lot of trauma, I think.

Like... Oh. No, but it can also, it's also, but it's also kind of, okay, euphoric at the same time. But I saw it, yeah, it was, I don't think there was a dance, no. Okay. It was sort of people, then it kind of reemerged recently and it was with people showing off their hair. Okay. But it's more, it's more just like screaming from the rooftops, like about that love of your life.

Do you do TikTok? I do. Do you like it? Well, once I. So, you embed with it? Well, once my song started blowing up, I was like, you were like, hey, I can, well, I get on to this. I didn't know how it worked or anything.

And then I was kind of like, okay, that's get good. Let's start doing TikTok. So I am, yeah, I am on TikTok. It's, you know, it's not something that comes, like, it's sort of something that I've, like, learnt. And I really, look, it's fun when it's fun. Yeah. Right?

Yeah. When you're, like, trying to figure out, when it's like, the label's like, oh, you need to make TikToks. And you're like in your house with like no hair and makeup in your sweats trying to put your kid to bed and you've got a billion things to do. You're like, it's not happening. It's not my priority right now. Yeah. Content in there.

It's hard. I find that sometimes I'm like, you know, sometimes you're like, oh, I need something interesting to be going on. And a lot of the time when I'm not working, it's like it's not really happening. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm not out doing something. And actually just kind of parenting can. It's like, yeah, it's a distraction.

and this other thing when actually you've got real life happening here. Yeah. You know, it's difficult sometimes. Totally. Yeah. How are you feeling about the album? I'm feeling good.

And there was things from my past that I felt like connected to into sort of this like obsessive relationship that had like spanned like a long time. I was really taken by it. and you feel you're the most important person in the world. She really does. And she, well, she, I remember, one thing I remember about that opening for her was getting in and having this, this note written to me. There was really sweet and heartfelt. And, yeah, you know,

you get like flowers in a note. And you just get these little things that, you know, get to take home and remember that. And she just is really, I've always, I've always noticed. that about her. She like really takes the time to thank people and she really notices everyone around her and gives them their flowers which I think is probably you know so much of what we do is about not just us but our team. one of the things that I've I've learned about her is just like how much grace. I think you know I went to the Harry Stiles show on Friday and his team and him and it comes from the top. It does. It It does. They are so incredible and it makes such a difference. There's no ego. There's generosity. There's like consideration. And I can so imagine that Taylor does that so brilliantly.

She worked with him. The first movie I ever did was this film called Love Rosie, and I was a model at the time, and my agent said, he was always trying to, like, find me something else other than modeling to do, because he was like, you're just not very good. he said, why don't you go to this? There's an audition. They're trying to find, because the girl in the movie plays sort of a model. So I went to this audition and got the film called Love Rosie with Sam Plyflin and Lily Collins, which was such a crazy, like, look, and the movie's kind of great.

It really stands the test of time. It's like quite a really hard. It's called Love Rosie. I must watch it. Is it a Roncom? Yeah. Great. I love a long call.
