Starting point is 00:00:00 You want to have that? What are you talking about? I don't know. Oh, very spooky. Spookingtons. Tabs out another bonus episode. Very special content for you. Extra content. It's bonus content. I'm Mike. I'm content for you. Extra content. It's bonus content. I'm Mike.
Starting point is 00:00:48 I'm Ian. And I'm Jamie. And who wants to explain what's going to happen here tonight? Ian, do you want to explain what this comp is? Jamie, you don't want to do it either? Neither of you are equipped to do this. I'm the only one who can do it. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Yeah. Already dead. You guys know what the label who can do it. Maybe. Yeah. Already Dead. You guys know what the label Already Dead? Yeah. Oh, yeah. A label from throughout the lands.
Starting point is 00:01:14 It's mainly run by someone named Josh Tavia, who currently is living in Atlanta, but has help from multiple people. Sean Hartman, Victoria Blade, Peter Cook, Wesley Nolan, Alex Borosin,
Starting point is 00:01:27 David Drucker, Curtis Tinsley, Jake Watkins. All these people kind of run this really fine label. Put out a lot of awesome stuff. They put out these comps, I believe, every year, right? I think so, yeah. They put out these comps. This is already dead number eight.
Starting point is 00:01:41 Oh. And it's got, look at that, Dean. It's got, is that a fucking synthesizer in the water drawn on the cover? I like it. Is it in the water, though? You can't get those wet. You're not supposed to get those wet. Is this water or desert? What are you talking about? It's blue.
Starting point is 00:01:56 I know, but the sky is pink. Anything's possible. Up is down, down is up. This tapes like a gender reveal. Let me see it. Is that not water? It's not. There's like weeds in it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:09 I was going to say, you can't get synthesizers wet. Right. They shouldn't be in the desert, either. Especially the modular ones that fills the holes with water. You can't do that. You're right. It shouldn't be in the desert, should it? Because of the heat.
Starting point is 00:02:20 What's it going to do to the chips? I was thinking the sand is going to get all up in the bits inside there. Oh, the bits. The bits. Yeah. The synth bits. You can't get sand on the synth bits. No. Most of those chips say do not get sand on them. It says it right on there. R.D. Dead number 8. Did I say it was
Starting point is 00:02:38 number 8? You did. Well, it's the compilation number 8, but it's probably release number like 400. Oh, Jesus Christ. The release number. Get out of here, Soha. You probably don't even know it. Oh, AD290. I was going to fucking do the whole thing where I said guess.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Where I said, Ian, guess what release number do you think it is? And what were you going to say? I had no idea. Wait, hold on. Forget what I said. He can't. And now guess. He can't.
Starting point is 00:03:01 He's dumb. He's not that dumb. Wait, what number is it? I forgot already. He forgot already. Oh, my God.'s not that dumb. Wait, what number is it? I forgot already. You forgot already. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What a bozo.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Ian, what release number do you think this is? 293? He didn't. It's 290. 290. You didn't forget. You knew it. I didn't know what the last number was.
Starting point is 00:03:18 There's about 20 artists on here. I'm going to hand this to you, Ian. You're going to read all of them. You know why you're doing that? Hold on. Let me pop the tape in. It's a C92, so we're not going to hand this to you, Ian. You're going to read all of them. You know why you're doing that? Hold on. Let me pop the tape in. It's a C92, so we're not going to necessarily play everything.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I'm going to press play, and we got the levels, right? Yeah. All right. A-side. Chris Brokaw. That's what's playing right now. This is a track called August 1st. And then we got Spaniard, Caribbean Health, Audible XXY, now this is track called august 1 b-side we got
Starting point is 00:04:06 victoria blade roland mosuri bill tucker imbu storm ross m slash mnc michael potter josh miller
Starting point is 00:04:20 dead man's lifestyle and forget the times do you guys know that band codeine Josh Miller, Dead Man's Lifestyle, and Forget the Times. Do you guys know that band Codeine? That had stuff on Sub Pop? Vaguely, yeah. I think this Chris Brokaw character was in that band. He's been involved in a lot of stuff. Well, I saw on Discogs it says he was in a G.G. Allen project.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I don't know if that's the same person, is it? Jamie, you're a Discogs hound. Would they allow that kind of a mistake to slip by? I don't think so. I think he probably actually was. You think so? Yeah. G.G. Allen and the AIDS Brigade.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Yeah. All right. Always edgy. Chris Brokaw did a tape on Artie Dead in 2012. It was number 27th release or something like that. What year was their first release? Well, if this is the eighth comp, do some math, Ian. They put out a comp the first year they were there?
Starting point is 00:05:12 That's the wild card, did they? We don't know. I'm going to say they probably, what do you think, 2010? Are you talking about the comp or the first Chris Brokaw album? We're talking about when did Already Dead start? First Already Dead release. Jamie, get your head out of the clouds, brother. We're talking about when did Already Dead start, first release.
Starting point is 00:05:32 I can give you that answer. Do it, man. Just do it. 09. 09. 09. The first artist was Problems That Fixed Themselves. Album called Sands. Sand?
Starting point is 00:05:47 Like with the stinker sizer bits? Yep. Jesus Christ. Should we so this is playing. This is this track. Turn this up a little bit. Bring this up a little bit. And then
Starting point is 00:06:01 there's, did you say it was Spaniard? Is that how you say it? I think so. Is that the name? Yeah, but it's spelled weird. Yeah, the math rock band from Chicago, I believe. Which is the fucking mathematician rock. That's the capital of it. Steve Albini, he's a mathematician
Starting point is 00:06:17 rock head. I'm not going to do Dave Steve Albini bit. I wouldn't let you. I wouldn't let you. They can't get enough of that stuff out there. Deep Dish and Mathematician Rock. Jesus Christ, they love it. Deep Dish, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I'm not on board yet. I'm not on board, no. I was actually talking about this the other day with some FBI agents, and I'm under penalty of perjury. I'm not on board with Deep Dish. Yeah. All right, so should we let... We'll let this play out.
Starting point is 00:06:47 And then that Spaniard track, I think, is very long. I think it's like 10 minutes. So maybe we'll cut that somewhere. We'll fade that out, and then I'll fast-forward this tape a little bit. Play two more tracks, and we'll talk about that on the other side of it. Should we journey into this tape? Should we fade ourselves out? Or we could just stop talking. Thank you. THE END Thank you. We'll be right back. guitar solo guitar solo Let's go. guitar solo We'll be right back. The End Thank you. ¶¶ © BF-WATCH TV 2021 I'm going to sleep.
Starting point is 00:13:00 I'm going to sleep. To the sky I Will fly Set the fire On fire Thank you. I'm sorry. THE END Thank you. I am already dead. Oh, yeah. It's not in my mic, Jamie. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Oh, no. Bring me back on. Oh, my God. There he is. Oh, God, God. You don't know how that felt. It was like I was in a hole. I don't know my way around a Behringer.
Starting point is 00:16:22 Jesus Christ. I am already dead. a hole. I don't know my way around a Behringer. Jesus Christ. So we had... Go ahead, Jamie. What do we have? We had really good cuts from Spaniard. Caribbean Health. Audible XXY. And...
Starting point is 00:16:39 Caribbean Health, I don't know. All I could find was a DJ Caribbean Health was featured on some tape on Personal Archives. Other than that, I don't know i i all i could find was a dj caribbean health was featured on like some tape on personal archives other than that i don't know you were saying while we were playing some of these that a lot of them it's people have never been on have a release yeah at least on the label yeah yeah like i searched the band camp and the discogs you did the search i did the search so if anyone asks yeah yeah okay so yeah that's. So, yeah, that's kind of cool. Yeah, no, that's totally cool. Really?
Starting point is 00:17:06 Totally cool, man. Everything about that's cool, man. Don't worry about it. Would you say it's Caribbean health or Caribbean health? That's the question I'm asking. I say Caribbean. I say Caribbean. All right, I'll say it too just to fit in.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Audible XXY. Very short track from Andrew Lurston. I have the tape. Am I good to go if I press play on this? Yes, you are. Audible XXY. Very short track from Andrew Lurston. I have the tape. Am I good to go if I press play on this? Yes, you are. I fast forwarded here about two or three tracks. I'll bring it up. I'll bring it up slowly.
Starting point is 00:17:31 You'll bring it up real slowly to the nighttime track. I like how some of the images on Bandcamp for this, you know how people put different shots of the releases and stuff, different pics? I like how three of them are just pictures of pages of download codes. Nice. I should say, I have this code right here. Did you guys use this?
Starting point is 00:17:53 No. AVTB slash HQWJ. This is good, this nighttime track. Yeah. Does anyone know who nighttime is? No. Nighttime's pretty scary, especially in October. Yeah. Does anyone know who Nighttime is? No. Nighttime's pretty scary, especially in October. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Way too scary. I don't know if I said this already or if I just thought it in my head, but I feel like if aliens came, outer space aliens came, right, and wanted to know a good idea of, like, current i would say you should i would say you should check out death by mark and already dead yeah am i right yeah you get it i think that's i think that's very appropriate you get a cornucopia of styles though we were talking earlier does Already Dead have any black metal recordings? That seems to be one experimental style
Starting point is 00:18:47 that is not represented. Jamie, is that a threat? I don't know. They have to have one. Hold on, shut up real quick. I want to listen to this. I want to listen to this. Should we let this play out
Starting point is 00:19:02 and then go into three more tracks? Dane Rousey entered this. Let's do it. It might be Fade Now right now. Should we let this play out and then go into three more tracks? I think so. Dan Rousey entered this. Let's do it. It might be fading out right now. The Dan Rousey, R-O-U-S-E-Y. The track's called In Love With The Internet. What's your favorite site, Ian?
Starting point is 00:19:19 What's your favorite fucking site on that net? It's got to be YouTube. Oh, shit. Yeah, man. All the vids, right? There's so many vids. The thing's loaded with videos. Get out of here. Jamie, you must have a favorite site.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Probably. What's your favorite? No, no, don't say it. I don't know what fucking perverted shit you like, man. Alright, let's... I'm a cogs man. No, no, no. I don't want to hear... The heebie-jeebies. Mute us off. Let's play three or four, then we'll come back in. All right.
Starting point is 00:19:46 Long enough to know your intention. Long enough to know your intention. Long enough to know your intention. Do you know your intention? Do you know your intention In all this depression You set me off And make me dance Play me dancing Fill up my cup
Starting point is 00:20:53 And I'll get up And I'll get up Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes! The Steadicam challenge! Yes! Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on!
Starting point is 00:24:18 Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on! Come on! I don't think I'll get you out of here. That's the advice you were probably already... Oh, I see. You don't like me. I didn't think you'd know life's challenging things. But you didn't make it. You got rid of your fears so easily now. Oh, such a good thing.
Starting point is 00:24:36 It's such a good thing. I think I see down the tunnel is a little bit like a cave. You can pass those eight paths. But when you're inside the cave, you're supposed to have a cough signal. Thank you. Johnny's pets, Johnny's friends, Johnny's friends who all of a sudden hold each other's hands. Have you heard of them? Have you heard of them? I would just describe, or even write them, or even write them down, but I'm not proud. But lastly, say something nice. Have you seen me smile?
Starting point is 00:25:41 I've never asked anyone how to write lies. Just how you roll. Just how I feel. Mental pathetic. I know mother-law made. But compared to the others, I've been done great. I've got a long way to go.
Starting point is 00:26:02 It's a story so muchmmetrical This is called women Women are amazing Women are amazing Yeah, you're trying to shut me off Trying to shut me away Well, actually, the only one who's really excited Is the black thing Who's in our head as well Well actually, it's the only one. We could be excited, but we can practice it. We can go ahead as well.
Starting point is 00:26:28 I'm floating on a sea of garbage. I'm floating on a sea of garbage. I'm floating on a sea of garbage. I'm a copy. It can't be. I went and got my feet were broken Where I am, did not expect Didn't I expect you? But I can't see where the sun will set tonight. Tonight Anyway I'll hold mine In the distance In the distance
Starting point is 00:28:37 In the distance In the distance There's the crowd that moves the ground And so much water that it can't hold. I know my expectations just hold me back There's no saying Anything will stay In the distance In the distance
Starting point is 00:30:15 In the sky In the sky Every time That you fight through Every time that she'll find through To the ones she don't let go Rise and shine And spread like a rainbow Rise and shine Rising Spires And they spread
Starting point is 00:31:34 Like a Moon Moon Moon Moon Moon Moon Moon In the distance In the distance
Starting point is 00:31:54 In the distance In the distance In the distance In the distance I'm already dead. Fucking Dane Rousey with that sitting at the desk at the office and you can't keep your supplies straight. Yeah. I got to say. Paperclips.
Starting point is 00:32:54 Yeah, paperclips falling out of the thing. Jesus Christ. I got to say, I've seen some pictures of this person on the internet. I'm surfing the web. You think you love the internet? Get out of here. I'm all over that shit. A lot of pictures pictures of them there's always something in the mouth a drumstick or something like that and like i'm saying this at my kids all the time get it get it out of your
Starting point is 00:33:15 mouth that's not that's unsanitary yeah you can't do that i'm already dead he's already dead then period bomb and you might need might have to leave the room for some of this. Okay. There are other releases. They're all, you get the theme. Yes, I'm bleeding is one. Red, wet, and bruised is one. But here's my favorite. And this is pure genius.
Starting point is 00:33:39 Over-reacting. Oh my goodness. That's really good, right? Well done. Jamie, you look offended, my friend. Well done. My heavens. That was a killer track, too. That track was called Hot Stuff. Hot Stuff.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Hot Stuff, baby, this evening. I'm already dead. And then... What was the last track? Oh Body. Oh Body. One word, Oh Body. Or is it Zero Body?
Starting point is 00:34:09 percussionist and composer Sarah Hennies and Peter Vincent Murphy that ended side A that track so what we did after that is we flipped
Starting point is 00:34:16 the shit out you know Jamie you hear about this with the tapes kids are flipping them flipping them they're flipping on me and you hear about the flipping
Starting point is 00:34:22 I don't know what you're talking about I'm already dead. I'm already dead. Because I'm already dead. I'm already dead. There's three. We flipped it. We fast-forward to the imbu track. Can I press play?
Starting point is 00:34:38 Am I good to go? Is it good? Yeah, I think you're good. I think the level's up. Bring up a little bit more. A little bit more. Maximiliano Cortez. Ignacio Vallejo.
Starting point is 00:34:49 Eduardo J. Alvarez from Miami. This is a killer fucking track. The track's called Coronal Mass Injection. What's it called? Turn it down slightly, Jamie. I don't want to be rude, but turn it down slightly. This is a little bit louder. The track is called Coronal Mass Injection.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Is it injection or ejection? Injection. Injection. You're getting it. Discog says ejection. Oh, my God. We got old shit. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:35:16 Hold on, Jamie. Discog town. Call your dogs off, man. Let's see what the band camp page says. Oh, my God. This is the tiebreaker. Listen to those beeps. You getting us some information there, Jamie?
Starting point is 00:35:40 It's ejection on the Bandcamp page. What's it on the J-Cart? Are you sure, Ian? Holy shit. Hold on. Stop the tape. Hold on. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Can we even play this legally with that? Let me see the J card. Let me see. Maybe you're just dumb. Where am I looking? Oh, my God. Injection. I see it playing his day.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Look at that, Jamie. Verify that for me, please. Third-party verification. Yeah. I can verify. Listen. Listen. A coronal mass, like from the sun, when it shoots out, it's not
Starting point is 00:36:10 an injection. It's ejecting. But that's like part of the thing. You know what? It's an injection. It's okay. I'm going to play the tape again. It's a good track.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Give me the J card. Give me the J card. Let me see if I can turn this I into an E. I can't. There's no room. There's absolutely no room. The kerning is too close. I can't do it.
Starting point is 00:36:37 That's the problem. Jamie, you might need to hack into the band camp in the discos. You might need to go in the back door. Let me press play. I have something to say about the next track. The Storm Ross track. Oh yeah? Storm Ross is from Ann Arbor, right? It's a band. One of the members
Starting point is 00:36:54 name is Storm Ross. Like a fucking meteorologist, right? Really? And someone else in the band's name is Tim Flood. No. No way. Right? There's no way that a flood and a storm would be bugs.
Starting point is 00:37:12 What do you think about when you hear this track, Jamie? It's a little too scary, but mostly... Look at him shaking in his boots, Ian. I'm just blown away by the diversity I hear on this comp. Liberals love it. Liberals love it.
Starting point is 00:37:30 They're doing it all the time now. I support it. Well, there's been many studies that show that you want diversity. I don't listen to the eggheads. You know, come down. Find me in a diner in the middle of Pennsylvania. Trump country. Talk to me there.
Starting point is 00:37:46 The old Rust Belt. The old. Oh, boy. This is too scary, though. You're right. You were right to be scared. I like this. This is.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yeah. After this, we're going to hear M slash MNC. Jamie, you're a coding guy. What the hell does that mean? What's that going to do to my FTP? It's really, you know, if you divide M by M, you get one, so one times NC. You don't know, Jamie.
Starting point is 00:38:16 It's fine. One over NC. It's okay. You're lucky I don't have my Masonic number. Sound clip ready to go. I'd nail you with it right now. And the track is FML, F-ML. All right, well, let's, unless anyone,
Starting point is 00:38:35 does anyone have any fucking hijinks or something hilarious they want to point out? Or something nice you want to say about R.A.D. Dead? Jamie, what's your favorite tape on R.A.D. Dead? Oh, we were talking about this. The Michael Potter tape that came out a couple years ago.A.D. Dead. Jamie, what's your favorite tape on R.A.D. Dead? Oh, we were talking about this. The Michael Potter tape that came out a couple years ago. Really good tape. Michael Potter's on this cop, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:51 I think we're skipping that one, though. Sorry. All right, let's shut up and love this play. so Thank you. © transcriptF-WATCH TV 2021 © transcript Emily Beynon © B Emily Beynon © transcript Emily Beynon © BF-WATCH TV 2021 I love you. I don't know. I'm sorry. Thank you. To be continued... One, two, three, four. Thank you. Thank you. Jamie, I think it's cute how you say 3, 2, 1. He's a professional. You're not supposed to say the 1. That's true. Do it again. Turn on the mic and come back in. One.
Starting point is 00:48:49 No. Go. Try again. Go. Now I did it. Who's this? M slash divided by another M. Forward slash backslash.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Forward slash backslash computer worm. Freecomputerworms.org. No, what is it? It's M slash MNC. Right? Yeah, really. Yeah, it is. Jamie or Ian, you were saying we came in because, damn, I love this little verse.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Hold on. I don't know why we came back in. I want to listen to this. Those laser beans? Those are laser beans, and watch out for those. My cousin put his elbow on the CVS scanner, and now his arm's all blue. Is it done? Yep, that's it.
Starting point is 00:49:56 I want to fast forward now because I want to fast forward to the last track. So this has been a fun time. Yeah. I had fun. I had fun. Already dead number 8, what? 290? 290?
Starting point is 00:50:11 Edition of 100 came out in August. I don't want to let any of this go. I'm already dead he's already dead I'm already dead had a few more didn't get them didn't get a time
Starting point is 00:50:32 to get them all in there a lot of songs if you just do the already dead on the YouTube your thingy that you like your favorite site
Starting point is 00:50:38 right where do you think this is on the tape I'm going to keep letting it fast forward no idea so what's the big takeaway from the comp
Starting point is 00:50:44 thumbs up or thumbs down give us a shout out you want us to Where do you think this is on the tape? I'm going to keep letting it fast forward. No idea. So what's the big takeaway from the comp? Thumbs up or thumbs down? Give us a shout out. You want us to shove it or pump it? No, what's a good one? That's a rhyme. That's a rhyme like trash it or hash it or something. Like if you like it or you don't.
Starting point is 00:51:00 I like it. So what do we say? What's our thing for that? Dub it or snub it okay yeah I like that yeah
Starting point is 00:51:06 call Jamie's cell phone Jamie what's your phone number say your fucking phone number right now say it right now say it right now we're gonna go out on the last track
Starting point is 00:51:21 on this tape forget the times from Kalamazoo they've been released and shit oh see this i just ended so that's the other track so i'll rewind it and then i'll just guess that it's in there i think it's a longer one let me see let me look on this thing oh shit 11 minutes there's like three 11 minute tracks on here what a bunch of cob hogs. Hold on. Forget the times. Who else? Who were the other
Starting point is 00:51:47 culprits with these hijinks? Spaniard and O-Body. I'm sorry. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Where's my... Comp hogs. Let's press play. You think it went back too far? Probably. This is it. Yeah. This Just forget the times. This is it.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Yeah. Probably, yeah. This is forget the times. Very good comp. Very good label. Yeah. Very good everything. Worry about that synthesizer on the cover.
Starting point is 00:52:18 You're not supposed to get those instruments in the sand or the heat, like Ian was saying. Yeah. If you guys ever bought anything from Already Dead on Bandcamp, you get reminder emails about once a week. That's how often they put stuff out, usually about once a week. I'm getting emails all the time like, check this out, check this out. But yeah, most of the stuff, I dare say, all of the stuff I've heard on this label has been very good. Good job, everybody.
Starting point is 00:52:43 A lot of people to thank. Keep up the good work. You guys are doing a good job. 290 releases is a lot. You wouldn't have known that number, Jamie didn't know, in his stupid mouth when I was trying to play a fun game.
Starting point is 00:52:55 And listeners love fun. They like to play long. Now you make a... We'll end this up. Jamie, at least make up a game for our fucking listeners who've been dealing with you. Okay, I got a game.
Starting point is 00:53:07 I love games. How many releases has Forget the Times done on Already Dead? Okay. Ian, do you know the answer? I got the answer. Ian, you go first. I'm going to say six.
Starting point is 00:53:23 Are these prices right rules? No, no, no. You say six? Are we talking about just cassettes or all releases? All releases. Shit. Fuck. Fuck, come on, Mike.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Come on, Mike. Come on. Come on, you're not this stupid. Come on. Don't let everyone's listening. They're going to get it. Four. Whoa. Are we counting this comp? What's that? Are we counting this? They're going to get it. Four. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Are we counting this comp? What's that? We're not counting this comp. We're counting albums. We're not counting this comp. Eight. You sure? Four if we're counting the comp.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Eight if we're not. Okay. The answer is five. Five? Five. What did I say? Four and you said six? Yeah. And so you went over Price is Right rules as we agreed. Already dead four. Five? Five. What did I say? Four, and you said six? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:05 And so you went over Price is Right rules as we agreed. Already dead four, already dead 11, already dead 29, already dead 95, and already dead 223. I wonder what crazy Masonic clue to the world you get if you add all those up. Think about what that number could be. We got to graph it. It's a wiener. Please don't talk about that.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Come on. Why do you have to do that? Is that the end of the tape? I think so. I think that was the end. We're the only ones still here. What does that mean? Ian, do you mean we're the only people left in the world?
