If you hear a sort of, if you got this instinctual feeling that we're kind of overflowing with raw talent on cassette tape, that's a good feeling that you're not wrong it's no no no
Starting point is 00:01:28 no no no no they we have plenty it's amazing what we have in store for you tonight at least red sticks cassette tapes are ripe and they're they're ready to be picked they're ready to be picked they're right frankly they're ready to be picked are they shelf stable buddy i'm ready to play them i got a lot and i don't know't know if I'm... You got a lot? You always have a lot. I have so many. I have more than the average man. I'm willing to make some cuts tonight.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Ooh, okay. Well, it's not about... I'll make a cut or two. It's adorable how you fellas think. It's like, oh, I think I'll make the decision if I play. No. But if we cut down, he'll just play more, Jimmy. I will be in audacity
Starting point is 00:02:06 cutting you guys out of the entire show out of the entire program you'll be ripped you'll be ripped to pieces joe doesn't like it when you edit the episodes i know well that's why i don't listen back because i don't want to get mad what do you think it should just be we should just go you think we should be streaming this live yeah it should be live you think i've lived my life like jazz live you know improv i think you turned my headphones down yeah why are you fed on with the knobs i was trying to get mine to turn down did i mess up with yours yeah yeah you good don't touch the knobs that's jammy's well see kind of like the headphone volume to me is kind of like jazz and i kind of go like i could kind of yeah i kind of have to just get into it just kind of mess with it.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay, well, who wants to go first? Should I go first just to knock out a few because I have so many? Just get them out of the way. Just get these fucking things out of the way? Well, I can start off. I got... Believe it or not, I can do some weird shit. Some vegetables.
Starting point is 00:02:58 You want to get right off the bat and just do... What's that even... Where does that come from? Get off the bat? Is that what you said? Right off... Right off the bat? Did I say get off... I'll cut that. See's that come from get off the bat is that what you said right off right off did i say you know i'll cut that see this here's the thing ready and cut we're coming in right from here and i cut all of that out but where's that expression come from it doesn't matter because i cut all that out so i don't sound stupid now now you said a baseball
Starting point is 00:03:17 thing it doesn't matter i cut it all out oh you cut that out so now they don't know what we're talking about what are they talking about i can't stop crying the first one jamie i don't i'm i'm interested to see how you feel about this okay because it's a bit of like a discogs it's a bit of like a discogs rudeness move is it it is it's like a i i don't know if it's rude or if it's a prank, but the artist's name, the band, or the moniker of the artist is Nirvana One. Oh, that's funny. Isn't it?
Starting point is 00:03:53 It is. Let's all have a good laugh. The number is spelled out. Weirdos still buying CDs. Good question, Joe. That's a good question. It's the number one in parentheses, exactly like if you went on thediscogs.com.
Starting point is 00:04:09 If you fired it up, you went on your machine. Except you don't put one. There are no ones. It just goes right to two. There are? Wait, really? Yeah, like Nirvana is just Nirvana. And if there was another Nirvana, it would be Nirvana 2.
Starting point is 00:04:24 So that's part of the joke too i think oh so it doesn't alter the first one oh i'm learning something yeah is that the top of the pepsi logo it is it looks like it yeah take the whole j card out the pepsi logos is on the front joe look at the front so that's the whole ass pepsi yeah whole ass pepsi yeah you're looking at the spine you're looking at the spine at a half c meanwhile the full pepsi logo yeah this is joe i know you'll love this because try to find any information about this shit online nirvana one are you kidding me kirk cobain's band was nirvana yeah that's true they were huge in the 90s they were iconic they were iconic that n Nirvana is an iconic band. Yep.
Starting point is 00:05:08 And then this band's going to come along and say... Check that one out. You said this is weird, too. Is it weird? It's all over the place. Well, come on. You call it Nirvana 1. What do you think they're going to do? Play rock and roll music?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Like normal rock and roll music? Is this a self-released deal? I guess. Am I too loud? No, you're pretty loud. Am I coming through? Well, you know, mic must with your... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:25 With your knobs. Ooh. Ooh. No, it's just weird shit, weird track titles. Weird. I'd like to argue with this fucking guy right here. Give me fuel, give me fire. Weird artwork. No information.
Starting point is 00:05:41 I think it's called Sway 1. Like, Sway parentheses 1. Because it says that inside. It says that on the inside. You saw that, too? I saw that. Eagle Eyes. I think there's a date, too.
Starting point is 00:05:51 2022, I believe. It's brand new. Yeah, it just came out. At least I just got it. But, yeah, there's, like, I don't know. Is this, like, an homage to In Utero, the cover? Oh, yeah. The heart-shaped box.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Oh, interesting. Wow, Mike. He really dissected this thing. Well, you know, a bit of grunge. They say if you remember the 90s, you didn't really. Welcome back to 120 Minutes. I remember the 90s a little bit, and I remember In Utero. And that looks like a little bit of the cover with the Pepsi logo.
Starting point is 00:06:24 So I'm going to play whatever this is. I'm going to just jump in there with that. And then I'm going to do another one right after that. Before anyone else can even play a tape. I'm just going to... When I go, I'm going to play all of mine at the same time. Jimmy, stop! Oh, like you're going to do...
Starting point is 00:06:41 You just want to do a block of just you? Yeah. And then I'm going to take off. Is that cool? Stop at least. What's he doing? There's somebody behind you. Oh, who you just want to do a block of just you? Yeah. And then I'm going to take off. Is that cool? Stop that, please. What's he doing? There's somebody behind you. Oh, who's that?
Starting point is 00:06:51 Gene Vomit Terror. Yeah, what is vomit? Disgusting name. Please come grow up. Come on. What is this? The bathroom floor? Making me queasy.
Starting point is 00:06:59 I know. Want to make a cake in the shape of a toilet bowl? This is disgusting. But we played a Gene Vomit Terror tape before. What? I know, right? It's disgusting. Not when I was here.
Starting point is 00:07:10 I remember it. You actually weren't. Yep. See? I usually don't stand for that kind of stuff. Okay. We wanted to try to get away with this with you, but I'm going to try to do it now.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Too scary. From Kentucky, the last tape was like remember the live stream days when you would go and you do a live stream show because everybody had the novel coronavirus oh yeah so we were like oh everybody let's to support each other we're gonna live stream it's like yeah we're gonna sit on our fucking couches no we're not but it was a a tape of that And then this is a brand new one called... Guileless? Guileless?
Starting point is 00:07:48 Guileless? Guileless? Guileless? Guileless? Yeah. Guileless. Guileless. Guileless.
Starting point is 00:07:53 What does Guileless mean? It's like a special edition of Street Fighter without Guile. That's a Mortal Kombat sample. Why would you play that version? You don't like the United States of America. Ooh, what are you playing? What is this tape now? You don't like America.
Starting point is 00:08:12 There's vomit involved. This is a vomit. This is an anti-USA vomit tape that I'm going to play. A desperate spirit. Unbelievable. It's gross. Christmas right around the corner. One's red, one's green.
Starting point is 00:08:26 It reminds me of a watermelon. It does. The red and the green? Yeah. Like a candy. A candy, yeah. You kind of stepped on my Christmas thing. I was saying Christmas just around the corner.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Like a candy cane. Yeah, but I don't see the Christmas. I don't get it. You don't think red and green are... Joe says happy holidays. Yeah, happy holidays, dude. Include everybody here. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:08:56 You and your family and Metallica all get what they all deserve? All right, Joe, here you go. No, me? Who, me? Oh, wait, or did you want to wait? I don't give a fuck. You're wild. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:09:10 Come on. Fuck it. All right. I'm going to play Nose Bled. What happened? Nose Bled. Disgusting. Vomit and blood.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Vomit and blood. I'm doing vomit. But it's already happened. Jamie, I hope you have a bodily fluid lined up. I'm doing vomit. We discussed this. I thought we all had it planned out. I did vomit.
Starting point is 00:09:29 Joe's doing blood. I hope you have a piss or a shit or something ready, okay? Pussy discharge. I pray that you have some kind of bodily fluid ready for me. I'm giving you time to prepare. Start the clock and have it ready. I'm working on it. All right, Joe B., what is nosebleed?
Starting point is 00:09:47 I don't know. I grabbed it off the shelf. I don't know when I got this. It's from 2012. Agoraphobic nosebleed. It looks like they use the same font. I'm glad you laughed at that. I was going to cut that out.
Starting point is 00:09:59 You were going to say it, but cut it out? In my head, I kind of fully planned on cutting it out before I even said it. Now I've got to look at the agoraphobic nosebleed font. Is it the same? Pull it up. I think it might be the same. This might be a tribute. This is demo two.
Starting point is 00:10:14 So Nosebleed did a demo, and they were like, well, that didn't work. Do it again. I can't spell agoraphobic. Yeah. BK guitar vocals,, Kyle Drums, AJ Bass Vocals, nosebleed333 at gmail.com if you want to get a hold of them.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Or you can go to their blogspot, nosebleed.blogspot.com. From there, you can take a link to a Mediafire link and download this. This was the one that had the Mediafire links on it. All that shit's still up, huh? Yeah. How is that possible? I don't know. Recorded by
Starting point is 00:10:49 M. Sage, summer 2012. Is this related to the label Patient Sounds? Well, it just says info at patientsounds.com, but there's no other Patient Sounds logo or anything, so I don't even know. Is this on Patient Sounds? Don't know. I think Patient Sounds is done, right? I don't even know, is this on Patient Sounds?
Starting point is 00:11:05 Don't know. I think Patient Sounds is done, right? Well, I think this probably did. Jamie, if you were listening to Joe's story, if you weren't... First of all, did you pull the agoraphobic nosebleed? I did, I did. Okay, so we have that. It's a little bit wiggly waggly.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Oh, is it wiggly waggly? And how's the nosebleed? Is that wiggly waggly? No. No. No. Doesn't look anything like it. Turns out. I gave it a shot. Is that wiggly waggly? No. No. No. Doesn't look anything like it. Turns out.
Starting point is 00:11:26 I gave it a shot. Cut that out. Hand it to me because that paper, I want to say that paper, rewind the tape on the podcast. Go back about 15 seconds. If you got a podcast app that rewinds 15 seconds, go back to when Joe was holding this. That paper sounded thick as shit. The alma mater is beautiful. You're a paper man. Okay. I am. It sounded thick as shit. The alma mater's beautiful. You're a paper man.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Okay. I am. It sounded thick as shit. Okay. I'm really looking forward to this. I'm taking the purple tape out, which has a nice NB stenciled on there. Oh, my God. This is a meatball, this thing in here.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Look at this. This is a fucking Bambino in here. I don't know if I can get it out. It's kind of a cosmic gumbo. It's so fucking a cosmic gumbo. It's so fucking... Almost like a band of jazz. I learned some skills. Oh my god. It folds out
Starting point is 00:12:13 the... It's many, many panels. The panels are... It's a big old swangin' J card. It just hangs down real low. And it's okay. It's like a Playboy centerfold. Look at me. Look at this thing. And it's okay. It's like a Playboy centerfold. It is. Look at me.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Look at this thing. And it's fine. A lot of J-Carts have one panel. Jamie's J-Carts have one panel, and it's fine. I'm a beginner. Yeah. You got to start small. You don't start with five or six or however many that is.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Double-sided. I don't know. They got the printing a little bit off. A little bit off. A little bit off. I think that's on purpose. But this is nice paper. I think't know. They got the printing a little bit off. A little bit off. A little bit off. I think that's on purpose. But this is nice paper. I think that's deliberate. You think it's an artistic choice? Mm-hmm. Oh, shit. There's a pecker on it. Oh, there's two peckers. There's two peckers?
Starting point is 00:12:55 I didn't even see the peckers. Hold on. There's, hold on. Like a bird? No, Jamie. Can you cover your eyes real quick? I need to show Joe this whole J card. Oh, I got to put my glasses on. There's two peckers and one butt. What?
Starting point is 00:13:10 Let me see it again. Oh, I see it now. Jamie, I did cover your eyes. You see them? Mama like. Yeah. Think there's a pyramid in the background There's a pyramid, a cross
Starting point is 00:13:27 There's some spikes, there's an Iron Maiden What is Nosebleed? I'm confused with Nosebleed It's a rock and roll band with guitars and everything This is number 78 out of 95 Metallica is number 1 Is that a good number? I did the Nirvanas
Starting point is 00:13:43 And then I did Vomit, and Joe did Blood. Now, Jamie. Yeah. We're going to throw it over to you. Okay. Me and Joe already knocked it out. What are you going to do? I got a bodily fluid for you.
Starting point is 00:13:54 We called our shots. Oh, you do? We called our shots. We knocked it out of the park. Okay, here we go. Ready? Yeah. Synth barf.
Starting point is 00:14:01 Synth barf? That's not what it says. No, you asshole. I was looking at this one earlier. What's this one all about, Jamie? I'm very intrigued by this. Actually, many years ago, the podcast played the first Synth Barf album. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:14:16 And this one says it's the classic album remastered. So it might just be a remastered version. It came out in 2022, and sounds nice it's if you guys want to hear good mastering i would check this out it's pretty funny pretty interesting very imaginative very on the b side there's a lot of references to uh the dragon lance novels which i i very much enjoy their uh dungeon dragon novels this is all champions of crin these are computer games yeah oh is that is that what's going on here? The Queen of Kryn.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Tequisis. I can never pronounce it. Pool of Radiance, I know, is a game. Oh, okay, yeah. Pool of Radiance. Do we have to fill out character sheets before we listen to this? There is something on the inside. There is.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Yeah. Do we have to fill it out? It's already filled out. It doesn't make sense to me, though, Jamie. I'll tell you why. I'm a little bit of a D&D guy myself. Jamie, how are you doing, old buddy? You know, he's a...
Starting point is 00:15:07 Shall we play a game? It is an 11th level human bard. Too scary. But strength of 20? No, it's strength of 10. I just didn't read it right. No, 10 makes sense. I thought it was a 20 earlier.
Starting point is 00:15:17 Three? I'm like, that's really strong. Does it make sense now? It makes sense now. Because why would a bard... A bard wouldn't be strong. Would a bard have a synth? Yeah, because they're, you know, wandering the lands.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Uh-huh. Telling tales and playing music. With my son. Taking a bubble bath with my son. That's what a bard does. Yeah. This is very nice. Yeah, we played...
Starting point is 00:15:38 Is this one also on Ephemarl? Yeah. The last one is? Yeah. Or was? We played years ago. We did, huh? And this is... we played years ago we did huh and this is good label not a lot of releases uh but good label what does that mean not a lot not a lot of releases okay let me guess let me guess their time and let me use you know yeah here's something you don't know not
Starting point is 00:15:56 everybody is like you just like rubbing them out everywhere some people like to like take their time and like you know hold the hand and look into the eye. It's about quality. It's about quality, not quantity. That's not a big bang and a boom. Keep the people waiting. Jamie, stop! I'm going to say FMRL
Starting point is 00:16:17 has a total Do you have the release number in front of you? I do. It's number 35. Wait, what the fuck? I was going to guess how many... You didn't set the release number in front of you? I do. It's number 35. Wait, what the fuck? What? I was going to guess how many. Oh, I didn't hear. You didn't set them up well for that.
Starting point is 00:16:30 I thought you had it. I didn't know what was going on with that. I didn't set them up well. I talked about it. Well, that's why I have to. But you didn't say, I'm going to guess what the release number is.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Yes, I did. No, you didn't. You just said, do you have the release number? 43, 37, 2, 4, 16, 49. What was the number? I actually forget. Do you really?
Starting point is 00:16:46 32? No. Close. Well, I was going to say like 70-something. Do they really only have like 30? 35 releases. Wow. That can't be true.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Well, it's about quality, not quantity. And then they just reissue stuff, too? Yeah, reissue. This is the very popular take. But you need more quantity than 35. What did the cover of the original one look like? Did it look like this? It was a completely different cover.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Mike probably has it on the wall somewhere. Well, I'm not going to be able to find that. If you can go to the spreadsheet. Oh, yeah. I got it right here. Yeah, it's a completely different cover. I just want to point out, of course it's a completely different cover.
Starting point is 00:17:21 They didn't use the same one. They didn't use the same cover for two different tapes. That'd be funny. It's not different, though. It's a remastered version. Yeah, but very different artwork. Oh, you're saying this is the same tape? Well, he guessed that. He's not entirely sure. Well, it says it on the cover. It says remastered. I love when they remaster stuff, because they make it a little bit louder.
Starting point is 00:17:38 It's a little bit louder. It's going to be a little bit louder than before. This is the mono. Get a little bit more of the crispiness and the synthiness. Everybody put on... Fat-ass synths. If you got earbuds, put them in. Put is the mono. Get a little bit more of the crispiness and the synthiness. Oh, turnt. Everybody put on if you got earbuds, put them in. Put them in now. This is the gold box renditions. What does that mean, Joe? Gold box. In the world of adventurous
Starting point is 00:17:55 games. Well, in D&D there was like the red box and the white box, so I'm guessing it's a play on that. Okay. Okay, so let's all have a laugh about that. Sounds like an afternoon. Now you can choose one tone and stay on that, or you can go up and down the scale of notes. It's not a singing exercise for us as such, but it's handy if you do want to move up and down through notes. Sir. So. You don't want them to be too loose. so I love you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. ¶¶ I'm out. What the fuck? I don't find rain! Can't say no, but I won't say yes
Starting point is 00:25:45 Don't play the die, I'm eating glass Like I ain't nothing, what am I to do? Take the stairs down and what the fuck should I choose? Can't say no, but I won't say yes Nothing's up to date, I'm eating glass Like a good kid, I'm the best thing Like the first one to eat in class Eat the fuck!
Starting point is 00:26:09 Every day, every day, I have a fortune One in two, I take my promotion Trying to save a piece of my fortune Fucking what? What? I don't know. No! I'm glad you didn't tell the joke. Yeah, yeah, we loved your joke, we did. Knock, knock. Who's there? Go fuck yourselves. I'm a man of my word I'm a man of my word I'm a man of my word I'm a man of my word Don't you get it?
Starting point is 00:28:02 It's the war we play I'm going to go to the next one. That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right!
Starting point is 00:28:32 That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right!
Starting point is 00:28:40 That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! That's all right! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Go. Nirvana. Go? Go.
Starting point is 00:31:39 Nirvana 1. Nirvana 1. I said it. Well, we both said it. I just said it better. Nosebleed. You're going to edit it out, aren't you? Nirvana 1. Sway 1. V, we both said it. I just said it better. Nosebleed. You're going to edit it out, aren't you? Nirvana 1, Sway 1, Self-Released.
Starting point is 00:31:49 Gene, Vomit Terror. Sick Bart. Then Nosebleed, which was, in some way, we think, we've got to get to the bottom of this. I need to get an investigator. In some way, you know, could we call matt sage right now i think matt sage hates me but i think does he hate you i think matt sage hates me but we can probably has he met you in real life i don't think so i'm sure if he has explain it yeah he'd love me
Starting point is 00:32:20 people who meet me in real life absolutely fall in love he just doesn't like your internet persona yeah but my internet or the podcast persona oh he doesn't like that either no and then if you meet me like at a gig you're gonna hate me but i'm talking about like one-on-one having coffee having coffee let's see if he picks up how'd you get his number please leave your message oh Oh, what the fuck? I should fucking play that. 970-31. Nosebleed is somehow connected to patient sounds,
Starting point is 00:32:54 but we just don't know how. And then since bar... You got a DM or an IM. What was that noise? I don't know. No one knows. That remastered... Matt Sage that noise? I don't know. No one knows. That remastered... Matt Sage just texted me literally taking a crap. Advanced Gold Box renditions on FML.
Starting point is 00:33:12 This is the perfect time. Yeah, then... Your head's clear. Exactly. That's when... See, I kind of knew that. And then I was like, this is the time to... Because that's when you're most vulnerable.
Starting point is 00:33:23 And then I'm like, wow, it's nosebleed related to you oh negative they're like kind of holding toilet paper one day oh it's and then they tell me all right who wants to start the second block i don't know why you do it you can do it anyway i can if you want no no jamie goes you want jamie to do it yeah you think jamie has what it takes i do think jamie has what it takes he's proving himself i'm gonna do this tape next um jamie how are you doing old buddy uh this is a tape called electrics by warren enstrom boogie woogie woogie woogie yeah it's on uh it's on fuck the art museum jamie f tam peter j woods how do you say that after you're saying that weird f tam f tam you say f tam you don't say f t a m you don't say each letter you're saying that weird what f-tam you say f-tam you don't say f-t-a-m you don't say each letter you say f-tam that takes too long no f-tam you got stuff
Starting point is 00:34:10 to do yeah okay that's the world we live in mike that is the world we live in yeah it's a quick move it's like a new york minute it's like i was with do you know that company verbo that it's like um reverbo.com no it's like uh like airbnb you rent places it's vrbo but it's it's verbo oh yeah but i was with someone and they were saying vrbo that takes too long it's verbo like were you already like somewhere else getting lunch oh my god all right electrics yeah so it's so how did the story, how did it end? Did they get the place? I punched him in the face. I'm not scared!
Starting point is 00:34:49 What are these track titles, Jamie? You're a musician, though. You know what this is. And it's exactly how they're entered in on Discogs, which is very funny. What? How do they do the dots? You can do it.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Oh, what? They do anything these days. What are they doing? I haven't seen it yet. You don't get to see it. It's all kinds of musical notes and patterns and stuff. Musical notes and patterns. What's the stink-a-sizer stuff?
Starting point is 00:35:12 Oh, yeah. It's like concrete. I can't wait to see. And these are the songs. I keep clipping in my headphones. I think that's fine. You think that's fine? I think your headphones have a virus.
Starting point is 00:35:25 He got a virus. I want to see. I want to see what the... What? I can't reach it from you. I want to see. So you're saying that the track... Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:35:37 You know what I think about music. Unbelievable. These are the track titles? Oh, yeah. But that makes sense to me and Jamie. These dots? Because you do art and he does music yeah but that's how they're written in discogs also which no it's not pull it up i got
Starting point is 00:35:49 it how can you type a music note you need a special keyboard joe you're you're wondering about how you type the music notes how do you type these patterns these dot patterns i don't know i don't know you gotta talk to some vaporwave kids and i feel like you have to squat a fly on your monitor or something like that and then immediately go to Discogs before mom cleans it mom cleans your monitor? mommy doesn't clean your monitor?
Starting point is 00:36:13 who cleans your monitor? I love the RGB bars on the front here it's got the red, the green, and the blue is that what that stands for? I always wondered. And I love these,
Starting point is 00:36:34 how the black lines, see I know a little bit about R2, so I'm going to show it off here. I like how these black lines, some go behind the bars and some go in front of them. I didn't even notice that. I know you guys didn't notice that because i spent a little bit more jamie you're a big you kind of like just you'll rub them out as i said earlier you're a pervert you kind of just let me just hurt and get this
Starting point is 00:36:55 one he just rubs them out i like to spend time with it so So who is this Warren N. Strum? Well, I... He's got dots above his name. I'll tell you. Above the O. When I got this tape, I looked it up on Discogs, and this is the only release by this person. There's nothing else. And so I messaged Peter J. Woods,
Starting point is 00:37:17 and I said, this is you. Dr. Peter J. Woods. Dr. Peter. And he said, it is not another Milwaukee dude. What's he a doctor of? And he said... Like Cosby? He said, this dude is pretty unmotivated to release stuff.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Did the whole get an MFA in music thing and just burn himself out. Sorry, Warren, I'm not sure if Peter would want me to read that, but Michael edited it out. Yeah, Michael edited that out. Are you... Who knows what he does after this thing? I don't even know what this podcast is like. It's probably just Mike. It should be.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Why do you think it's Peter? Because there's no other releases. You know how people that run labels, they aim in from Strategic Tape Reserve does it all the time with DJ Volk and all that stuff. The washing machine stuff.
Starting point is 00:38:04 I thought this was Peter. Plain old joke, Mike. But he said, no, this is just a guy that got an MFA in music and could burn himself out. He's unmotivated to release stuff. Have you Googled this person's name to see if they have a LinkedIn? Well, Peter did link me to one other piece of music called Acoustics.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Did you ask for a proof? Prove it, Peter. Send me one link. I need one piece of verification. Acoustics, huh? There's electrics and there's acoustics. See, I'm... I get it now. I'm kind of less convinced now that there's one other thing.
Starting point is 00:38:36 Now I think it is Peter. I would have been more convinced if it was like, nah, he just did this one thing and that was it. He did two things. Here's the other one one it's on peterjwoods.com slash not me oh yeah okay that's cool it's that pretty it's pretty cool i like this tape i like how it's clear the shell is clear you like the clearness and the blue that's my favorite color i like yeah i like the way it sounds oh i color. I like the way it sounds.
Starting point is 00:39:07 Joby likes the way it sounds. I haven't heard it yet. When you hear it, you'll like it too. Maybe. Joby, what do you got? I was going to go anyway. Adorable. Adorable, you think that.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Since we're getting into music, I'm going to play Lang Lang. Full moon, solo piano. What do you mean since we're getting into music? Because this is music. He has his AFA or whatever Jamie said. You know, it's music stuff. This isn't, we're not playing bleed or vomit.
Starting point is 00:39:43 This round is nice stuff. Isn't AFA, that's a football league, isn't it? This is scholarly music. Yeah, this is scholars. You wouldn't get it. You're probably going to play something stupid like sewer rat. Caveman barf. Plasma bachelor.
Starting point is 00:39:59 All right. Lang Lang, which I don't like the smell of. You guys ever smelled Lang Lang? No. That's gross. Okay. I had an essential oil once. It smells really weird. I don't know where it comes from.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Is it a plant? Is it a plant? Metallica oil? Is it what they all deserve? No one knows, man. This is an old one, too. I grabbed all old stuff. Finery, 2015.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Finery. Oh, that takes me back. I haven't heard that name. That's a name I haven't heard in a long... I didn't realize how short this tape is. This tape's stupid. How short is it? Is it just like a C5?
Starting point is 00:40:32 Yeah, it's like a C5. No, shout out to... Or a 10. Shout out to a short king. It's only like a... It's like... Yeah. That's...
Starting point is 00:40:39 Six minutes each side. Four, five minutes each side. Six minutes each side. It's dumb. Put out a full length. That's dumb as shit, but who cares? Seriously, though, whatever happened to Finery? Did they just stop being a label?
Starting point is 00:40:54 I don't know. Because sometimes you think they stopped putting out a label. Excuse me. Let me start that over. Because sometimes you think a label stops being a label and then you look them up and it just turns out they stop sending new stuff yeah well you know probably because i just said this was stupid and uh oh yeah sometimes i forget that too yeah they and then they think like here's a big pet peeve what they do something else you
Starting point is 00:41:24 don't like yeah this is what there's nothing they put a label on the tape a blank label a blank label but there's no writing or anything i like that you like that i like a color shell with a blank label on it yeah just on one side just like a white blank label i like that i like that look you like that i fuck with that look all the time, Joe. I fuck with that look all the time. Alright, Lang Lang. Give us something scholarly. I wish I had some scholar. Is this statue holding... Joe B! Oh yeah, I sucked that in.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Hold on. I don't think we can just let this slide. This is the second tape you're playing. It got a pecker on the cover. Yeah. I've got a theme going. You are horny as hell right now.
Starting point is 00:42:13 My God. Jesus Christ, Joby. Jamie, how are you doing, old buddy? My anaconda! All right. I'm going to follow that up with two... Two?
Starting point is 00:42:26 Jeez. We ought to do these more often so Mike doesn't play as many tapes. I'll be really quick. They're both on Relapse Records. What, really? Yes. I'm going to be very quick. Let's just go through this really quick.
Starting point is 00:42:38 No, now I want to talk about them. The first one is by a collaboration. And because I don't hold grudges and I'm not a small person, I'm going to play it. Oh, is this someone who doesn't like you? It's by two people who would love nothing more but to see me dead oh what bastard noise and murzbach oh they have they have done a collaboration together and because i'm not a baby i'll play it even though both of them would love to see my children grow without a father because i was just new because why i made a few jokes on the internet fucking good track well you're good at it you want to turn my wife into a widow because i make a fucking few jokes about noise on the internet give me a break you're not
Starting point is 00:43:15 true to the skull dude i didn't know you had bastard noise had beef with you. I feel like... Mike took it too far. Yeah. See, I disagree. I think I took it right up to the knife's edge with some of these. Okay. But this is the peace offering. This is me saying, unblock me from Twitter. Jamie, how are you doing, buddy?
Starting point is 00:43:44 Dial up. get on there yeah relapse this is brand new it's called what's it called retribution i just want to read a little some of the lyrics okay go ahead yeah jb put on some uh some set the mood for him yeah give me something maybe give him some reverb unparalleled ruination. Government fecal way station. Unlimited salad. From vagina to butcher obliteration. Hot donuts with chocolate. Oh, more? You want me to do more?
Starting point is 00:44:14 You gave me the reverb, you dummy. Oh. Wounds upon the Earth Mother. I have a question. Taking an infinite toll. I have a question. Are shit species I can't even just cut about it makes me seven billion throats all at once this is a bootleg so I just a little sample all right so basically like that it's called retribution by all other creatures
Starting point is 00:44:47 i believe i'm the only one in this room that's even a vegetarian and they got beef with me and they got beef with you come on don't block me from twitter um you didn't post a picture of mers by with a chicken the other day you did yeah are you still doing it? I'm still doing what? 10 years ago. I'm still just doing goofs? You got a lot of free time.
Starting point is 00:45:15 How long do you think it takes to post that picture? How did you find him with a picture of a chicken? It ain't hard. I got it in a folder on my phone um got three wolves on the cover cool it's kind of scary it's very scary it's very scary artwork um ladies and gentlemen the doobie brothers i don't know if it's just er Wood or more people participating as Bastard Noise. Nelson.
Starting point is 00:45:48 I don't know. Barnes. To be honest, I haven't dug into this yet. This is brand new for me, too. Mama like. Mama does like, though. I was surprised to see that this is the first time this collaboration has happened. Really? Is it? Maybe I'm wrong.
Starting point is 00:46:08 Is it not? Maybe I'm wrong. Jamie, will you please? Oh my god. I feel so fucking stupid. What's the other one? I'm going to feel so dumb. The other one. The other tape? I saw that one. Okay, so I'm going to play the Bastard Noise
Starting point is 00:46:19 and Murdoch collab and then I'm going to play brand new City of Caterpillar. They got one from 96 on on release which is okay okay the sibling i'm gonna cut that that i didn't know that this is their this is their second this is their second collaboration this is on relapse isn't that interesting city caterpillar bit of a screamo legacy a little bit of a screamo legacy act um reformed after like 20 years right jamie are you familiar with this no this wasn't really your scene was it right what were you doing in like 1999 2003 exclusively dream theater yeah oh okay okay good for you yeah
Starting point is 00:46:59 what you have like a long white t-shirt and khakis on? Black. Okay, a long black t-shirt. Yeah. Okay. Screamo Legacy Band from Virginia. They're back, like a lot of these bands, but they're writing new music and putting out new music. Interesting. That might be a bit scary. It is a bit scary. And yeah, it's on relapse, which you might think is odd. That's weird.
Starting point is 00:47:24 Here's why I don yeah, it's on relapse, which you might think is odd. That's weird. Yeah. Here's why I don't think it's weird. I don't think it's weird because I think everything from that era that survived, it's just like it all funneled. So everything, if you were in a Screamo band or if you were in Cave-In or if you were associated with- I listened to with cave in back then. Yeah. If you were associated with like anything from like Hydra head or anything
Starting point is 00:47:51 from that era, it all got, if it's, if you're still around, I think you're still tacitly connected with each other. And it's just like, all right, we're all,
Starting point is 00:48:00 we're all in our forties. We're all in our forties. So this is like, it's the kind of thing. If your knees hurt really bad, We're all in our 40s. We're all in our 40s. It's the kind of thing if your knees hurt really bad now, you get to put out your music on relapse. I used to love the relapse sampler. The relapse sampler, they give you a little CD and a folded piece of paper.
Starting point is 00:48:18 It was awesome. Free. Free. You listen to an At The Gates track. Yeah. Call back to them. Call back to a gloraphobic nosebleed. Yeah, very. Classics. I had the relapse release sampler.
Starting point is 00:48:30 You guys have that one? Is that the noise stuff? Yeah, the release is the noise stuff. Yeah. Too scary. But this tape is, I saw this and I was like, what? How did you see this? Internet.
Starting point is 00:48:42 What? I know. I gotta change my algorithm. You gotta get on, come over and use my PC sometime. Oh. Bring it over to my house. I don't,
Starting point is 00:48:49 I'm not, I don't leave, I don't let it leave the house. I build pretty good computers. But come over and then, yeah, you'll see all this stuff and I was like,
Starting point is 00:48:56 let me order this and let me just, What else they got out now? I was fully prepared to be like, What? Oh, that's skinned? I mean,
Starting point is 00:49:02 I was just gonna be like, this is kind of sad. Oh, the music? I was like, yeah, what are you doing? But it's good? I was just going to be like this is kind of sad oh the music I was like yeah what are you doing I was like are you going to do a screamo song about your 401k getting really close to maturity or something but no it's really good it's really good
Starting point is 00:49:18 you know they're like an abstract kind of a screamo band members of like page 99 type stuff. They're members of Page 99 type stuff? Yeah. Or members of Page 99. I'll edit that to make it sound all right too, Joe B. Don't try to fuck with me.
Starting point is 00:49:36 I can just edit all this to make it sound like everything's just perfectly fine. Daddy, chill. hell. Thank you. I'm not sure what that means. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Hmm. Thank you. um ¶¶ so um © BF-WATCH TV 2021 um Thank you. so so um Thank you. Oh, oh, oh. I'm sorry. First Breath in Squalor It's squallering. Wretched. Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 We'll be right back. Two, one, go. The third act. Wait, now? Yes, now. Oh, are we back?
Starting point is 01:11:22 You don't have to count it. It's better, though. Warren, how do you say the last name? Enstrom? Enstrom. Enstrom. Enstrom. Electrics.
Starting point is 01:11:33 You think that's Peter J. Woods doing that project? I think Strom means river. It could be. It's a very, like, it sounds like a professor. And he's kind of a professor. Warren Enstrom, Electrics, F-T-A-M Productions. Matt Sage just texted me and says we can call him back. All right, Paul.
Starting point is 01:11:52 Lang Lang, Full Moon Solo Piano on Finery. And that Bastard Noise Merzbau Collaboration. Second one, or maybe third. Maybe we've... I shouldn't put a number on these things. It really makes it... No, Strom means current. You got to get back in their good graces,
Starting point is 01:12:06 and then you can start doing that again. Yeah. Call them back. I'm trying to, man. I'm trying... Well, if you had any part... What are all these things you're pushing? All these buttons.
Starting point is 01:12:15 I'm trying to get the number. Why don't you read... What else do we play? And then we play that City Caterpillar tape. Bastard Noise Merzbow. Let's call Matt Sage. Let's get to the... Can we call Bastard Noise, Merzbow. Let's call Matt Sage. Can we call Bastard Noise? Yeah, let's call...
Starting point is 01:12:29 Matt, how's it going? Pretty good, how are you? Pretty good. Got a quick question for you we thought you might be able to answer. Okay. So, Nosebleed. What is this Nosebleed tape?
Starting point is 01:12:46 Oh, whoa. They're like a punk band from Fort Collins, Colorado. Yeah. And they recorded Nosebleed 2 in my basement. I produced that one for them. Oh, producer. Oh, ladies and gentlemen, we've got a big time producer on the show. This could be my big break, Mr. Producer.
Starting point is 01:13:07 It's a little loud. Yeah, here we go. Yeah, it's a little loud. You might want to get it remastered. So is it on patient sounds or is it self-released? I think they self-released it. All right. Did we have any other questions?
Starting point is 01:13:19 That was the main mystery. That was it. No wonder he likes you a lot. So now we're down to the last one. So who wants to... I'm gonna end this one. I'm taking it out. So who wants to start it off? Who wants to rev the engine
Starting point is 01:13:37 on the last block? Does anybody want to flip a coin? I'm not really into gambling. Joe's not allowed to gamble on Sundays. No, I'll flip a coin. That was entrapment. No, that wasn't me. Oh, that's entrapment?
Starting point is 01:13:49 That was entrapment. I got you. On tape. On tape. I'll cut that out. Yeah, edit that out. All right. I'm going to pick one.
Starting point is 01:13:57 I feel like I've brought this tape the past couple times, and it's got put on the chopping block. It's got dust all over it. Yeah, what have you been doing to it? This is my friend TJ B borden cello player oh oh this should have been on the the musical block yeah the musical block well we can do a free improv block oh okay i gotta do that yeah so anyway um this is a pretty cool tape he sent me it was it's on um alien passengers label oh that's scary.
Starting point is 01:14:26 Actually, it's only scary if they're flying the ship. If they're just the passengers, it's no big deal. It's one of those tapes where I thought it was just... They might be from Earth. Aren't we all alien passengers? Wow. I know you had to think about that. Go ahead. I know I fucked you up with that one.
Starting point is 01:14:42 So I went to listen to the B-side of this, and I was like, oh, this is So I went to listen to the B-side of this, and I was like, oh, the program just repeats on the B-side. And then I went to Discogs, and it didn't say that. So I corrected it, and then the person incorrected me. It said, no, it's a different track. Who did? Wait, what user? The person on Discogs.
Starting point is 01:14:57 And then so I messaged TJ on Twitter. What user? I don't know what user. What is their username? I don't know. Look it up. Find out. TJ said that's actually correct.
Starting point is 01:15:05 Let's dox that. And that they're two different tracks. He told me that... So let me get this straight. The backing tracks are the same on both sides, but the cello improvisation is different on both sides. Oh, I see. And this asshole didn't recognize that.
Starting point is 01:15:19 Guess who it is? Dog Lady. Dog Lady. Ah, who runs Alien Passenger. That must be it. Passenger's, excuse me. Yeah. This is a Dog Lady, who runs Alien Passenger. That must be it. Passenger, excuse me. Yeah. This is a long one, too, Jamie.
Starting point is 01:15:27 So, well, that's good, because you brought that shorty making shorties. Yeah. It was so tiny, we could hardly even see it. So this is good to bring a good old slop and slice of salami. Just, like, bang it down on the table, like... So, hold on, let me get this straight. Somebody was, like like listening to this tape and was like flipped it was like oh this program is clearly repeating that was me that
Starting point is 01:15:51 was james oh that was you that was him he's the jabroni well it sounded exactly the same it was just the backing track was the same but i didn't i didn't remember the cello improvisation note for note to know that it was different improvisation but you know tj just has a lot to uh to get out of his system so he had to do two sides of this two two two takes yeah jamie please you mentioned earlier when you introduced this tape which passed it over here by the way i think you got it you got it you dropped it i'm the one the other day it was like a salami and i slapped it down. Which I love. The album mod is beautiful.
Starting point is 01:16:27 Had to buy this thing for that. I'll probably never crack the seal on this bad Larry. Alien Passengers, of course, we love the, what do you call this? Vellum? Vellum paper. Yeah, this beautiful vellum paper is gorgeous um earlier you said that this was your friend well i mean i booked him at final friday once and he played one of the twitch final fridays so he's my friend would you um pick him up from the airport
Starting point is 01:16:59 yeah i don't know where he lives but call him Call him right now. But if he asked you, you would do it? Would you help him move on a weekend? No, I don't do that for anybody. Me and Matt Sage don't even like each other, and I just called him and then called him back. I could tell in the way he was answering you two. Did you hear how he was like, hi, Mike? He definitely did not want to hear from you. I know, right?
Starting point is 01:17:20 You think he really was taking the crap earlier? No, he just gave you the... So I guess T.J. Borden's actually not my friend. I don't have his number. No, it's okay. I don't know where he lives. He could be a friend. I bet he's my friend.
Starting point is 01:17:32 He's a nice guy. I'll be the judge. Very talented. You can watch his streams online. He toured Europe recently. Europe? Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 01:17:40 He's doing it. That's not that hard anymore. It is. Anthrax couldn't do it. Anthrax? You see that they canceled all their dates because the prices are too expensive for touring. They can't make the numbers work. Too expensive.
Starting point is 01:17:53 Yeah. I didn't know that. Oh, yeah. Wow. Scott Ian. Does he still have that goatee? He does, yeah. Nice.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Nice. That's his moneymaker. Yeah. I mean, if he shaved it, no one would know who he was. They would think he was like Moby or something. They'd kick him out of the bed. What if he did shave it and became Moby? That'd be kind of cool.
Starting point is 01:18:13 Maybe he is Moby. He pulls it off and the glasses come out. What if he pulls the goatee off and they are glasses? And they're Moby glasses. Wow. Ooh. Fucking beautiful. All right.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Well, Joe B., after Jamie's friend TJ plays. Good friend. Good friend. Good friend. What's his tape called? Bob Hope Airport Train Station? Yeah, I believe so. That's funny.
Starting point is 01:18:37 Yep. That's a funny name for a tape. Pretty funny. I like, because Alien Passenger is typically the artwork. It's just like black and white and very minimal on these pieces of vellum. But this is a full ass like color photo printed on here. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:52 Yeah. All right, JB, what do you got? I'm trying to decide which one I'm going to play. Yeah, you got two right there. I got two, but I'm only going to play one of them. Is that the only two options that are left? It is the only two options. Okay.
Starting point is 01:19:04 No option. How do you have a sample for that okay which one red or white that one all right okay okay i'm gonna play this one himu himu called see this tape himu called conditions acrimony see this tape sounds scary it is it is kind of scary. It is kind of scary. The cover's kind of scary. Oh, this is a nice paper. You're going to like this paper, Mike. Oh, I love my paper guy.
Starting point is 01:19:31 Hand it over when you get a sec. When you get a... Play that. That's my paper theme song. Joe doesn't like that one. I fucking hate corn. We'll play it one more time. I just don't get it.
Starting point is 01:19:47 I can't wait to touch this paper. Because you already got me like a... Oh. So this is old, too. This is from 2016. There's a link to their... Or not a link. There's a...
Starting point is 01:20:01 They have their Tumblr page on here. I'm sure that's still active. Helen Scarsdale did the design. I think Helen Scarsdale is... Himmocult? I don't know, though. Helen Scarsdale Agency is the label, right? The Helen Scarsdale Agency is the name of the label.
Starting point is 01:20:23 Yeah, that I'm absolutely positive about. Well, Helen Scarsdale did the design as well. Helen Scarsdale agency is the name of the label. That I'm absolutely positive about. Well, Helen Scarsdale did the design as well. Helen Scarsdale is a person too? Yes. I thought it was an entity. No. Now I don't know. Well, who's Hemucult?
Starting point is 01:20:35 Now I don't know either. Now I'm in, yeah, I'm totally... And what is... Oh, I think Hemucult is Esther... I don't even know why I tried. Carter. I don't know, Joe. A lot of Ks.
Starting point is 01:20:51 There's a lot of two dots over top of some letters. I think you got it. I can't do it. I think you're way, way, way, way. Conditions of acrimony. I thought it was Helen Scarzell Academy. Is that something else? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:21:03 This is off in 2016. It's a mystery to me. So that's like so long ago now. So long ago. It's almost not even worth looking up. I'm going to throw it away after this. what is Helen Scarzell Academy? Is that something else? I don't know. This is off in 2016. So that's like so long ago now. So long ago. It's almost not even worth looking up. I'm going to throw it away after this. This is like looking into a time capsule. 2016.
Starting point is 01:21:14 It's like, oh my God. What was 2016 like? We were so young. Remember we used to wear our hair like this? Remember that thing we used to do with our phones? We used to go, ooh.
Starting point is 01:21:26 Yeah, 2016. Oh, God. It's like a different planet. Okay. Okay, and then who... If we don't know anything about this... It's Esther or something.
Starting point is 01:21:35 And I'm gonna like the paper. Yeah, you're gonna love the paper. Oh, my God. Joe B. What? Is there a boob or something or a peni? It must have been
Starting point is 01:21:44 in that section that I grabbed from my wall this morning. I didn't realize that it was the naked body section. Is there one on this one too? Yeah, man. There is full on. Let me see.
Starting point is 01:21:59 I can't see it. Full on. Oh, yeah. I think there's a lady part on here a couple lady parts I'm not even going to mention out of respect to our listeners what that is I think that might be a self portrait
Starting point is 01:22:14 of the artist as well it says self portraits on here I think this is pornography I know it when I see it it's not pornography but you have definitely subliminally something has happened you're unless you're trying to tell me and jamie something what horny section do you have in your you don't have a horny section in this room
Starting point is 01:22:39 oh well yeah i do but i'm not like way up top but it's way up top. But it's way up top. No, I can wait on low. No. But if I'm going to pick tapes for an episode, I'm not like just like lingering over that section, picking all the tapes. It's the best section. Yeah, but you got to play it cool, man. I should have only brought one. Yeah, two. Two.
Starting point is 01:23:00 Two, we wouldn't have thought anything of it. One for me, one for Jamie. But Jesus Christ, man, you're going full. Sorry. Ah, let this be known as. Full frontal. Full frontal. That is full frontal on that one.
Starting point is 01:23:12 I know. This is like, we got to, Jamie, when you upload this episode. You got to blur all that stuff out. You're going to have to tag this with something like parental notification. Parental advisory. Yeah, there's some sort of advisory. NC17. I know. This is,17 i know this is i can't believe i can't believe i thought when i saw the first two tapes with peckers i thought oh my god this is so
Starting point is 01:23:34 funny this is and then the second one with a pecker that was a wiener and then it was like well that's gonna be it but then this third tape is another fully naked person. Well, it's a lady this time. I know, but it's the same thing, though. It's the same idea. Oh, my God. Okay, is it my turn now? I'm just a little more mature than you. That stuff doesn't bother me. It's art. It's art, yeah. It's beautiful.
Starting point is 01:24:01 The human form is beautiful, Mike. I never said it bothered me. Is it my turn? Yeah. We're all waiting for you. Okay. I'm going to end it with two. Two more.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Two quickies. Just two quickies. Okay. The new Wise Blood. Okay. Got the new Wise Blood. Obviously. Obviously the new Wise Blood.
Starting point is 01:24:21 We all love the new Wise Blood. Why is that obvious? Because it's the new fucking Wise Blood, man But you're only going to play a little bit of it? You know what? I'm going to do something so fucked up I'm going to do something so fucked up I'm going to play just like
Starting point is 01:24:33 A short, droney, abstract, ambient type track Ambient noise! You're cool, man I know, right? Oh my god I'm doing it for Cloud Is what I'm doing it for But the new one just came out on sub pop and in darkness hearts of glow it's a good fight it's it's an it's a great tape it's listen i'm i don't want to be a dick okay
Starting point is 01:24:55 i know where you're going oh jamie knows where he's going jamie give me some give me some background music here i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm trained classically is it titanic rising it's not titanic rising i'm trade contemporaneously but like that album was like that was like a crossroad demon album you know what i mean that was like a crossroad demon that was like okay computer and this one's like amnesiac oh that one was like that one was like that was like a perfect album so like of course this isn't going to be that i'm not i'm not expecting i mean is it did i buy yeah but it's not you like it yeah yeah i like it did i buy tickets to to the philly gig yeah but it's not pizza am i gonna like but it's not pizza take a bunch of mushrooms and like disassociate at the gig yeah my if my wife lets
Starting point is 01:25:41 me yeah but it's not pizza but like it's not titanic rising but it is fucking it does slap it is a fucking good album but i'm gonna do something fucked up and i'm just gonna play i think it's called the bumper track i'm gonna play a bumper track i'm just gonna do a bumper track in holy flux which is right it's right after a track called twin flame which is like the club track. That's the banger? It's the banger. And then the worst is done, which is like a longer one. The tape's good.
Starting point is 01:26:12 Fucking one of the greatest bands of all time. They've been dubbed so often, they're practically... It's got tight artwork, the O-card inside, she's on a horse. Didn't come with a download code code which typically it's kind of like every tape comes with a download code and i always throw it away but then this one didn't have one and i thought like well where is it like i was just gonna check your email well i want the paper though i'm gonna throw it away but like why didn't i get it um but yeah i'm gonna play because i'm fucked up and weird i'm gonna do something unexpected and cool and play the bumper track for clout not just one of the tracks everybody clout chaser i'm chasing clout here everybody's like oh we're playing the title track of arse of glow here's the single here's the new fucking single off the new wise
Starting point is 01:27:01 blood and i'm like uh yeah i'm kind of playing the bumper track it's kind of a fucked up track uh maybe it's called in holy flux you might have heard of it's kind of deep into the tape okay then after that you may have heard of this guy uh a little guy named lou reed what he was in a band called mr velvet's wonderful underground and this is a tape put out by A Light in the Attic. It's called Words and Music, May 1965. Good year. It was an excellent year for Lou Reed, who was just kind of like, you know,
Starting point is 01:27:36 he was working on his guitar skills, working on his singing. And I guess A Light in the Attic, I don't know how, like, I guess with this kind of stuff you just like do you literally have to go up into the attic and find it you go through the flashlight and you look around you ever hear metal machine music oh yeah well these are all like um there's like you know just old lurid demos that were like transferred from like um there's actually analog tape transfer notes in there
Starting point is 01:28:05 if you're a real head and you want to... From the Fostex. Yeah, you want to hear... 24 track, 2 inch tape. What are you going to play? Well, I'm going to play... I actually found the track with the most warble on it.
Starting point is 01:28:21 What track is that? I forget, but it's on the B-side. I forget what I'm playing. What's Light in the Attic? Is that just common knowledge? It's a reissue label. Okay. It sounds familiar, but I can't place it. These are the Lou Reed demos, but when you
Starting point is 01:28:39 think about it, isn't everything Lou Reed ever did just a demo leading up to Lulu? Yeah, that's right wasn't it all just him preparing for lulu his master right no who what is the lady in the attic put out they put out they put a lot of that's a weird label like um like a paul patrols soundtrack what have they put out like really jamie you're you're a disconce freak you're on there right now probably they put on... Not put on. They put it on.
Starting point is 01:29:07 No, they put it on. Cuphead soundtrack. The Shags, Philosophy of the World. This is an outsider classic album from the 60s. Yeah, it's a weird label. The Monks. Oh, the Monks, too? The free design.
Starting point is 01:29:18 There's a whole bunch of anime and Capcom video game soundtracks. No, because they sell stuff, too. So are these releases, or is this like a scoop? No, because they sell stuff too. So are these releases or is this like a scoop? I was just on the regular webpage. So now I don't know. I'm on Discogs.
Starting point is 01:29:31 Oh, Jamie's on Discogs. He's on The Official. Yeah, they got some John Carpenter, some N.A.O. Morricone. I see that right away on Discogs. I see the Muppets
Starting point is 01:29:39 on the top of their page. Oh, the Muppets? The Muppets. The original motion picture soundtrack in 2022. They got Muppet money now? They got Muppet money? Yeah, who's buying that now?
Starting point is 01:29:48 Are you kidding me? People, freaks are lined up outside the... Freaks. Freaks. Freaks, losers, dweebs, idiots. The vinyl's back, Joe. The vinyl's back? The vinyl's back in a big way.
Starting point is 01:29:58 I'm a CD man. In a big way. Oh, wow. This is... I actually only really knew that they had a moderately funny twitter account but now that i'm looking at discogs they put out a lot more than i godzilla how do you go from like the muppet reissue to king gizzard and the lizard wizard you gotta follow the money and lou reed yeah you gotta follow the demos yeah you're putting out lou reed demos and godzilla versus mecha godzilla 2 original motion picture soundtrack this person's
Starting point is 01:30:31 all over the place you think it's one person running the label they just got you some fuck you money they're just like they must have won the lottery or who is running this they have cryptocurrency yeah look this up is this late inic is a U.S. independent record label that was established in 2002 in Seattle, Washington by Matt Sullivan and Josh Wright. Who the fuck are you? Matt Sullivan. Okay.
Starting point is 01:30:56 They're laughing all the way to the bank. They're laughing all the way to the bank. Okay, this guy's looking off in the distance in his Discog picture like, look at all my money. Does he look cool? Actually, you know what? He does look really cool.
Starting point is 01:31:06 I'm hoping Josh Wright doesn't look as cool, so that makes me feel better. But he must be the money guy. Yeah, interesting label. Well, let's... Well, let's... Let's take a walk on the... Well, let's let Lou take a walk... Let's... Let's take a walk on the wild. Well, let's let Lou take a walk.
