Starting point is 00:00:00 I need the tape. You'll get your tape, but here's what I'm going to need. I'm going to need three cameras, two on the floor, one in the balcony, and I want headsets for the guys running them. I want to be able to talk to them. Tabs out. Dear episode 196. Jamie, please.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Oh, my God. Jamie, where were you when you said that in a scary place I take everything back Turn my headphones down Scoop Joby's mids I got the compression kicked up too You don't need to start off the episode like that
Starting point is 00:00:57 We might have got a new listener and they just ran away and took off both pairs of their underwear because they got bald Why, I mean, you wear Is that triangle thing new on the window? I spruced up the stew. Nice question. Just a little tiny bit.
Starting point is 00:01:12 Call me Martha Stewart. Both people are circle people, but I'm a diamond one. No, call me... What is it like a kind of a detail about a spruce tree? A detail about a spruce tree? A detail about a spruce tree. Sappy.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Are spruce trees sappy? Yeah, they're sappy, right? That's an evergreen. Call me sappy because I spruced up the studio just a little bit. Yeah, I decorate the place just a tiny little bit.
Starting point is 00:01:39 Call my ass Martha Stewart because I'm putting some shit up. Yeah, it looks good. You're like the opposite of deciduous. Deciduous? Yeah. Call me the opposite deciduous, because I'm sprucing up the joke. Yeah, the studio's looking nice.
Starting point is 00:01:53 The Tabs Out studio's looking really nice. We haven't been in it in a bit. Jamie, you're trying to scare up the joint. What episode number is it? It's 196. And what happens is we try to do these monthly, but what happened this time was- Jamie, please. Jamie calls them his monthlies.
Starting point is 00:02:04 We did the last one at the beginning of the month, and this one's at the end of the month. So it's almost two months between episodes. Jamie's like, I got my monthlies. Don't call it that. Leap year happened? Leap year did happen. Yeah, the leap year did mess it up.
Starting point is 00:02:17 There's a lot of computer bugs on that day. Unless it's tax season. Yeah, fiscally. Like Y2K type stuff? A little bit. Yeah. People add in dates, and... Yeah, fiscally. Like Y2K type stuff? A little bit. Yeah. People add in dates, and they're not considering leap years. Ah, come on now.
Starting point is 00:02:30 My friend was born on leap year. Shout out to Lee Tarzanski. I don't believe in that kind of stuff. His name is Leap Year... Leap Tarzanski. Shout out to Leap Tarzanski. Shout out to Leap... Went to grade school and high school.
Starting point is 00:02:45 We were in the Boy Scouts. Well, Cub Scouts. I never got to Boy Scouts. And his name was Leap Tarzinski? Leap. Leap Tarzinski. Leap. Huh.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Hell yeah. Jamie, please. I knew Leap. Not Leap. All right. So Tabs Out, it's a cassette podcast. We play cassette tapes. That's a cassette podcast we play cassette tapes that's a fact you can't dispute that fact it's written about in several books several authors of several books
Starting point is 00:03:11 have put ink to paper this can't be disputed please how dare you jamie do you want to uh start off with something you're gonna let me go first again yeah again ah well you know i probably should be playing diarrhea put him on the spot musicians are struggling right now people are you know prices are going up on vinyls on your tapes on your band camps and so the artists are just trying to make a buck so i should be playing that but instead i'm gonna be playing an indonesian bootleg from the 80s okay all right All right. That's illegal, Jamie. Banking Friday.
Starting point is 00:03:47 All right. I'm just going to pass this around real quick. This is a bootleg. This is looking nice. This is for observational purposes only. If you take the J card out, you'll see that the image is actually glued on to the cover. Should we put on gloves like space art music? Space art music.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Should we put on some nylon gloves while we handle this? This looks fancy as hell, man. I had to do a lot of research to figure out what this was, just so you know. Yeah, what is this? Because I've heard of something called space art before. You have? See, I hadn't heard of that, but you're close, but it's not quite. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Well, what is space art? All right, all right. Wait, before we get to space art music, Joe, what is space art? Some synthesizer band from like the 70s oh okay yeah you're right about that i'd never heard of them yeah but this is not space art is on this they might be italian it's a this is a compilation okay oh this is a compilation space art is one of the artists but there's another artist called space on it okay space and space art they're two different artists.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Hold on, slow down. Start over. What are these numbers? Too scary. Did you figure that out? I didn't. Start over. Oh, I figured it out.
Starting point is 00:04:54 There's a key. I see. Oh, it tells you what album it is. It tells you who... Put it on the glass. Put it on the glass. Hold on, hold on. So there's Space Art 2.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Okay. Then there's Space 3. 2. then there's space three two okay they're they're both their second album those are what the albums are called but it's their second i figured that out okay taken from the lps universal energy space art two rick van der three x one and space art space two yeah so universal energy is another artist and then rick vanderlinden is another artist so there's four artists on this three of them are french artists the albums are all from 1977 oh space art is french yes space art's french space is also french universal energy is french and then rick vanderlinden is dutch okay so anyway i think i have space that took me a while
Starting point is 00:05:42 to figure it i had to put this on Discogs. It was not easy. Sherlock Holmes over here. When did this come? Did you find this in like a time capsule? Sean Stelfox gave it to me, our friend from Indonesia. But if you found that in a thrift store, something called space art music, I mean, you're buying that sight unseen.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I would steal it and run away. This is, yeah, this is incredible. Sorry, I didn't mean to play it. But there's, on space art, there's the cover. cover yes and i meant to tell you about something about that too that album none of the songs on this are from that album which is the i think that's really funny too well what is that it's a different space art album it's a different space art album and that's the cover but they use the piano the black and white that's their first hour it's in color that's one all the all the songs on this are on space art 2 universal energy space art 2 oh my goodness gracious so i'm going to play a cut from universal energy the first the first track on the album
Starting point is 00:06:35 and it's all really good it's all like kind of disco i fell down this like italian disco french disco i love it a while ago yeah late 70s, like Prague disco is the best. And that's what this whole tape is. What was at the bottom of the hole? I never got there because then I climbed. You just kept falling? Well, no, then I stopped and I climbed out. I was like, oh, I'm done with this hole.
Starting point is 00:06:55 I can't even get to the bottom. This cover's giving off, it's giving Atari. It kind of is, yeah. And here's the tape. I feel like I'm going to break it if I touch it. What's written on top of it, on top of the tape? Oh, Aquarius. Maxwell.
Starting point is 00:07:11 On the top of the tape's dang head. So let me tell you about Aquarius. No one ever puts stuff there. So on Discogs, Indonesian record company, which dates back to the 1960s. In its early days, it engaged mainly in cassette recordings and reproductions of dubious legality. Oh, same.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Bootleggers is what they're helping here, Jamie. Old-fashioned bootleggers. However, in the 80s, they became licensees of WAA International, and so they became legitimate in the 80s.
Starting point is 00:07:38 In the 80s. But this is when they were illegitimate still. Everybody was doing crazy shit in the 80s. Dubious. Dubious legality. I love that.
Starting point is 00:07:46 That's my new band name. Dubious. Dubious legality. I love that. That's my new band name. Dubious. The 80s? It's like punk. It's like early proto-punk. You wouldn't get it. Me and my mates in dubious legality are playing down at the Peach Pit this Tuesday. Alright. Who's going now? I'll go. You go. All right.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Who's going now? I'll go. You go. All right. What's something you... Both you go in either order you want to go. What's something you like to do to your friends? Something I like to do to my... And Jamie, I'm going to say right now,
Starting point is 00:08:19 don't be nasty. Pranks. Pranks. Jamie, what's yours? I like to give them wedgies. Wedgies. How about... Freak them How about Freak Them Out? Freak Them Out.
Starting point is 00:08:32 I'm talking about, you know what? Maybe I am. Let's put this table aside for a second. Jamie, pull up YouTube. No, no. I've never seen it. Pull up YouTube, but spell it with Russian letters and.nasty instead of com. No, I'm talking about YouTube in Russian letters and.nasty instead of com. No, I'm talking about
Starting point is 00:08:46 YouTube and Cyrillic.nasty. I'm talking about Aaron Dilloway. Oh, okay. It's called Freak Out Your Friends, Aaron Dilloway, live at Tusk 2015. Old school.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Old school, but he just dubbed him. Oh, he just got around to it? He just got around to it. Man, this 2015 live recording really needs to see the light of day. He listened to it. He put on some headphones. He's got a stack of all these, hopefully... You know what?
Starting point is 00:09:17 Is this from Tusk 2015? All these tapes are always unlabeled. Do you think the masters are labeled? I don't know. Or did he think he was like, yeah, that's Tusk 2015. So this is a new Hanson release? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:31 How active is Hanson these days? It's like an active senior. They're always putting stuff out. Hanson's like an active senior. They go into the senior center every day for a couple hours. Yeah. They get out on the bocce ball court. They got pickleball.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Yeah. Pickleball. You know, he's not out on like, Hanson's not out on the ball court. They got pickleball. Yeah, they got pickleball. You know, he's not out on like Hanson's not out on the basketball court doing like a pickup game
Starting point is 00:09:50 all day and then going out and having like beers with the bros afterwards. But he's playing pickleball for a few hours.
Starting point is 00:09:56 From 9 to 11. Yeah, and then maybe walking the dog. Okay. Yeah, like an active senior. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Yeah. This is a long one too. Oh, yeah. What is this? What is that? Is he 255? 255? I didn't know they were like that. That's illegal. That's more illegal than my tape.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Here, hand it to me, because I got the measuring stick. Here, hold on. I got the stick. The caliper tool? Yeah, I got the caliper tool that measures the tape. Let me whip it out real quick. Yeah, it's a C- 473. the tape let me let me whip it out real quick that's long that was a long set what it was 173 minutes he played but you got to figure divide that by two because it's probably the same thing on both sides. Or one side's probably blank or something.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Who knows? Keep playing that, because that's probably funny, right? We're going to get taken down playing this. Yeah, yeah, Jamie, come on. Let's just do it 16. I got to play a little bit. This is fair use. This is fair use.
Starting point is 00:10:58 Jamie, please. All right, you got to make me think about it. Yeah, comment on it. I don't like it. I don't like it. I like it. I like it. I like it. What about this part?
Starting point is 00:11:08 See, that part I kind of like a little bit. That part I don't like. I don't like that part. Okay, so yeah, I'm gonna, there's a picture of this kid's freaking out
Starting point is 00:11:18 at his friends and look what he did to his friend's hairs. Yeah, he freaked him out. I know, he looks like he's in like the germs or something like that now or the casualties. I know, he's a punk rock kid now. he freaked him out. I know. He looks like he's in like the germs or something like that now or the casualties. That's me.
Starting point is 00:11:26 I know. He's a punk rock kid now. He freaked him out. You're starting to freak me out. It's very fun. So that would be a noise thing from Aaron Dilloway from 2015. God, do you remember 2015? I guess I'm kind of playing something old too. I am playing something old. How many years ago was that now?
Starting point is 00:11:42 That was almost a decade ago. Almost. Well, that really takes you back, doesn't it? I guess. I don't really remember 2015 that much. 2015. No, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I don't know. I have no idea. I don't know. And the Tusk Festival was in Newcastle and we're in Newcastle. Different Newcastle. Different Newcastle.
Starting point is 00:11:59 Isn't that so weird how they made another one? I'm not in Newcastle. Newcastle County. Oh, no. I am in the county. Not my county. Not my county. I'm not in Newcastle. Newcastle County. Oh, no, I am in the county. Not my county. Not my county. I didn't vote
Starting point is 00:12:08 for that county. Well, we all know Aaron Dilloway. We all know Hanson. I mean, if you don't, you should. You should. You should. You obviously should. So we'll play a chunk off of that. I got it right in the middle because I'm a real head, so I was already listening to it. I was like, fuck yeah, this guy
Starting point is 00:12:23 Aaron Dilloway for Tussles. Yeah. My kid's like, Dad, I need help with my homework. What? I saw that. Dad, I need help with my math homework. I'm listening to Aaron Dilloway. Freak out your friends live at Tussles 2015. Go away.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I thought about you, Joe, with this one. Aaron Dilloway just put out a new one on Hanson with Twig Harper and it's a laughing cassette. It's all manipulated laughing. Oh, I've done that. Yeah. That's my thing. I bet you bought it. Yeah, it's all tape manipulated laughing.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Tape person laughing. They'll do anything now. Call it music. Speaking of real music, I'm going to play an old tape. You're not a doctor. Leave your opinions to yourself. I I'm gonna play a reissue Oh, I recognize that cover Of Pig Destroyer's Prowler in the Yard
Starting point is 00:13:11 Oh, hell yeah, this is a classic Originally recorded August 2000 to March 2001 Oh, it was remixed and remastered in 2014 by Scott Hall And then this is a new, or I think this is a pretty recent reissue on Relapse. What, did you just pick this up? I just bought it, yeah. Oh, that's wild. I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:13:33 I haven't heard anything from Relapse in a while. Yeah, what made you buy a big Destroyer tape? I just went on Relapse and wanted to buy something for the show. I know that guy Blake Harrison just passed away. He just passed away. He's not on this one. He's not on this, though. This is the classic original trio.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Oh, okay. I don't know if He's not on this one. He's not on this, though. This is the classic original trio. Oh, okay. I don't know if it's original. I'm making that up. Brian Harvey on drums, J.R. Hayes on vocals, Scott Hall on guitar. You ever seen Pig Destroyer? I've seen Pig Destroyer a few times.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I remember seeing them at a bar in D.C. on the Saturday before Easter, and there was nobody there, and it was during the day. Not that there was nobody there during the day. Not that there was nobody there. There was nobody there to see Pig Destroyer. And there was the bar people there. And I remember there was
Starting point is 00:14:13 an intoxicated lady who kept screaming, where is my man? She said, where is my man? And they eventually gave her the microphone. I mean, I couldn't say right now, like, what, 20 years later, if it was good or bad, but I definitely remember it. I saw them with Wayfull.
Starting point is 00:14:32 Wayfull. Yeah, Brent Eyestone's. Serial violence band. These are all, that's a band. I'm starting to think about bands from that era that I could definitely tell you, well, I could tell you exactly what the inserts of their seven inches look like, but I couldn't
Starting point is 00:14:46 tell you any what they sounded like at all. Yeah. I was thinking about this about bands that I put records out for that I couldn't tell you what they sounded like. No idea. I'm just looking at it going, what does this sound like? Not good. Who could that be?
Starting point is 00:15:01 Some of it's pretty damn good. No, there was some good stuff. There was some gold. Rewind that, Jamie. To whatever side. Sure. Thanks. Jamie was on rewind duty, and he did not like it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:16 And then he, like, pretended to do it. I'm being serious. Before we play that, rewind it. Now, I'm showing my ignorance here. Is Pigastroyer still going? I don't know. I don't know either. None of us will... That's the only Pigastroyer tape I own.
Starting point is 00:15:27 I don't own it on tape. I think I have... Probably have the CD. I probably have the Napster version. Oh, the Napster version? The Napster version. You're an all bootleg guy. There's some tortury type stuff on that. They're chopping somebody's legs off. Oh, it's all in good fun. It's all in good fun.
Starting point is 00:15:43 It's just good old Virginia boys having a good come on yeah it's all this is a good old virginia boys have a good old time come on it's ironic come on james so you get it there's having a good old time look at that there's come on yeah come on come on look this guy's got a hacksaw he's like cutting all some do you think that really happened yeah come on this is a good old hacksaw i feel like there's a better no hacksaws for metal yeah yeah you wouldn't use it not for bone you need to use a bone saw. Actually, is that a hacksaw? Now I feel like a fucking Yankee. Now I feel like a goddamn Yankee. You don't know your tools?
Starting point is 00:16:12 Tell these Southern boys what they need to be using. What sort of saw they need to be using. Oh, that's a slip saw. Oh, that's a slip saw. Yeah, I was about to say that. I just made that up. Oh, oh. I'm thinking if you're that guy on the cover though you're just grabbing any saw that you can get
Starting point is 00:16:27 he's like a zombie or something I don't know if I want to play this anymore Joe I know that you're a pro cop but isn't Pig Destroyer a anti-cop band name? that's a good question Jamie please that's a good question
Starting point is 00:16:42 I saw Pig Destroyer at the college park maryland co-op food co-op food co-op all right yes man you are a real head i'm a real head i gotta say i'm a little bit of a real head i'm a little bit of real head i think those are the only two times. No, no, hold on. I saw Pink Destroyer in Philadelphia with Cattle Press. Cattle Press. You remember Cattle Press? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:14 Because I remember that I have a Cattle Press shirt somewhere. I also have no clue what that band sounds like. Yeah, yeah. What does Cattle Press sound like? I think they're kind of slow. I couldn't even tell you what genre of music Cattle Press is. I think they're sludge. I think they're kind of slow. I couldn't even tell you what genre of music cattle press is. I think they're sludge. I think they're sludge.
Starting point is 00:17:28 I don't know. I don't remember. Call Larry. You know what? Could we? Could you call Larry real quick and just ask him what cattle press sounds like? Because I bet you he will know. All right.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I'd be interested to find out if anyone remembers. Who is cattle press? Am I making that name up because of Pig Destroyer? No, no. It doesn't ring a bell for me. So you got pigs and cattle in one show. I know. Who is Cattle Press? Am I making that name up because of Pig Destroyer? No, no. So you got pigs and cattle in one show. I know. What is going on here? Is this a fucking punk show or a barnyard? Jamie, you got some animal sounds, don't you?
Starting point is 00:17:58 I'm like, I'm here for the show, and they're like, Quack! your call has been forwarded hang up hang up he the person you're trying to reach is he's gonna leave a voicemail all right so we're gonna play some stuff off did you get anything else for relapse i'm assuming you made a larger order um i bought a t-shirt you bought a t-shirt huh yeah keep it secret what it is okay alright so we'll play alright let's play the story alright Thank you. Starting point is 00:34:06 No, it's not slow. There might be some slow stuff in here. Do they have any ballads? Well, maybe there's some older stuff on Bandcamp. Oh, it's people from Born Against and Nausea. Did you know that? No, I didn't know that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Hmm, interesting. Well, I'm a real head, so I was into some real shit. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. you all right jamie what did we play we played hurry up universal audio from an indonesian we played aaron dillaway on hansen i like that song by the way and joe you didn't i didn't so don't sue us and they make beer beer now, by the way. Oh. All grown up. All grown up. The boys are all grown up and they're drinking beer.
Starting point is 00:34:51 The Hanson boys are all grown up. And guess what, ladies? They're drinking those sons. So get in line. Brewskies. And we had a pig destroyer, a relapse. Relapse. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Prowler in the yard. We got a prowler in the yard. Give me some police sirens. 438, section 18. We got a prowler in the yard. That one was originally from 2001. Can you believe that? I turned 21 years old.
Starting point is 00:35:19 That was a good year for that kind of music. It was a good year. It was a long time. And if we just think about it for a moment. And Jamie, we've asked listeners to send in some essays on what Tabs Out means to them. And we have a few. You want to read one of them? I would love to. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:35:37 Read one of them. Is this a bit? I've got to go. What's up? I was like, oh, really? Dear Mike, Jamie, Dave. Wake me up! is this a bit I was like oh really but nobody said any Dave
Starting point is 00:35:47 wake me up nobody said any I didn't even know about it do we still have that tape that's our pet whatever happened to that bit oh god that bit died right away as soon as it was birthed I feel like I
Starting point is 00:36:02 well shame you're an awful pet owner. Never mind. Like a Tamagotchi? Is that it? I think that's it. Yeah, Power Strip. Oh, Jamie, you were looking for the Power Strip earlier. There it is. That's funny. Alright, Joby, you got a tape?
Starting point is 00:36:18 Yeah, I got a tape. I got a couple of them. Good for you. I'm going to play. I want to play two. No, I said I just have a couple of them. Good for you. I'm going to play. Oh, before you play, too? I want to play, too. No, no. I said I just have a couple tapes. I wanted to say that Relapse in 2022 released a Pig Destroyer six cassette box set. What, really?
Starting point is 00:36:37 Of all their shit. But here's the thing. I'm looking at a picture of it on Discogs.com. Dot com. And it's literally just like a shipping box, like a white cardboard, you know, get them from Uline, get them from the post office kind of shipping box.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Oh, just filled with six tapes? Core game cardboard, filled with the regular six tapes and some packing peanuts and some earbuds that say Ear Destroyer on them. And the Pig Destroyer, fine. Two pair. I don't know why two pair.
Starting point is 00:37:06 I guess this is... Oh, for a a friend this is a lover's package the picture six percent lover's package for valentine's day yeah it was released valentine's day 2022 yeah yeah okay that's cool that's cool all right all right probably for somebody wants to like torture their valentine's date or something i'm gonna play shadow dungeon jamie give me a real reverb oh too scary this sounds scary yeah i don't know what know. What is this? Some of your dungeon? It's some dungeon sand. Yeah, I figured that much. Out of Season are doing a nice little deal right now. Oh, let's hear about it.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Mystery four tapes for $24. Oh, wow. That's cool. Do the math on that. So it's four tapes. Four tapes. Jamie, how much do I pay a month to send you to Mathnasium? You're not going to do this?
Starting point is 00:38:03 Do the math. Put the calculator down. I ordered that box, and I got four random tapes. Oh, what did you get? You got them all right there? Shadow Dungeon on Out of Season. Okay. I got Secluded Alchemist on...
Starting point is 00:38:16 That's a good name. Oh, that poor alchemist. Let him hang out with the other alchemist. On Ancient Meadow. So they're not all on the label Out of Season. It's a distro. Adasi on something. Adasi on something.
Starting point is 00:38:30 And something, I can't even read this. You know what's funny? Something forests. Well, that's how you know it's going to be really good. You can't even read it. That one's also on Ancient Meadow. You can't even read it. All you can, they say, let him read the word forest, and that'll be enough.
Starting point is 00:38:44 Yeah, that's all I can read. That's all he's allowed to read is the word this is really really scary and difficult yeah i love how all dungeon synth projects sound like they're just like like you put in chat gpt like give me a dungeon synth name and it's like generate me a table of 10 dungeon well what genre is not like that yeah i mean that's every genre at a certain point. Yeah, exactly. Death metal, like internal bleeding.
Starting point is 00:39:07 But Dungeons and Thieves, really, so, I mean, it's super easy. It's fucking easy. There's a lot of nouns. I mean, I can't do it. There's a lot of nouns and adjectives
Starting point is 00:39:15 that are very easy. You can't do it? I try to, and I break out in a fucking fluff sweat. Magic hammer. Oh, that one's so good. I could never do that.
Starting point is 00:39:24 This is a scary one. Magic screwdriver. Magic screwdriver. I, that one's so good. I could never do that. This is a scary one. Magic screwdriver. Magic screwdriver. I can't do it. Mystical skeleton. God, you're good at this. Because you're a gamer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:33 Because you've been on the board. Because you've been in this decrepit cave. Oh, my God. It just goes naturally to you. Jamie, put in scary sounds in the background while you do it. See, ChatGPT did a bad job. These are too creative. Crypts of Eldritch Echoes. Mistveil Citadel. I just asked Chach. See, Chach EPT did a bad job. These are too creative. Crypts of Eldritch Echoes.
Starting point is 00:39:47 Mistveil Citadel. I like that. Shadowed Halls of the Forgotten Kings. That's good. That's an album. Wait, wait, wait. Sorrow Sworn Bastion. And then the last one,
Starting point is 00:39:58 Twilight Labyrinth of the Whispering Woods. Well, you got to tell it, give me two words. Make them worse. Make them two word noun or adjective noun dungeons and project names okay let's see obsidian depths ethereal ruins enchanted catacombs haunted hollows and ebon fortress i like it all good stuff that's all good all good stuff and they say ai is bad And it just did that. It's not bad.
Starting point is 00:40:25 It's not bad. You're bad. Did I tell you what I was doing? Like solo role playing game with ChatTPT? No. I'll tell you all fair because it's long. But it involves you just playing with the AI. Yeah, definitely tell me all fair. Hand me the tape. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Right. So they went with like a Slimer green glowing in cake give me some background that's scary Gary I already did the scary stuff I like that when Joe with the whole time Joby is doing his dungeon set thing it's like a second it's like a second the whole time it's scary because it's because it's like, it's immersive. It's immersive. I want my immersion.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Oh, look, the tape is also Slimer Green. Yeah, the tape is also Slimer Green. This is very, and then everything else, black and white. Stark and grim. Oh, man, they went with the all black flood printing on the inside. It's full of musical instruments. Wow. They couldn't have done it any more black on the inside
Starting point is 00:41:28 of the J-Guard. Full flood printing. Bleeding off of all four sides. What's the blackest black? Vanta? That's soda. That's an orange soda. Not Fanta, Vanta. You can go on TikTok and people paint their cars with that paint. Can you screen print with that?
Starting point is 00:41:44 Yeah. Can I? No. I'm not in the business oh right all right sorry the cover is like oh my god there's punctuation on the cover punctuation on the cover these dungeons people they really are setting you in and the out of season logo one of the best in the game it's the best and that's a recent redesign right i think I think so, yeah. Who'd they get? Whitley Whitley and Marcuson from the New York firm did that? There should be like a Dungeon Synth firm that's like just the three trolliest looking guys, but they handle all of the rebranding and all the artwork for them.
Starting point is 00:42:20 All right, so you happy with your purchase? Yeah. How long does this out of season deal go for? I don't know. I'm not sure. I just saw it on the website. And you'll be seeing Questmaster live by probably... By the time this comes out,
Starting point is 00:42:34 you have already seen them. Already seen Questmaster. Very fun. Pretty excited. Putrid Forest, I think, too. Many lucks on your journey, good man. I did some putrid farts today. Oh, yeah, Jamie. This is crazy.
Starting point is 00:42:50 We all saw that coming. Wake me up! All right, Jamie, why don't you go now? Clear out the room. Why don't you go? You want to go? I got two. Can I do two?
Starting point is 00:43:03 Please? Maybe please? You can do it. You do two this round, and I? You can do any one you want. You do two this round, and I'll do two the next one. Okay. Yeah. All right, so...
Starting point is 00:43:09 Show your ass up. So there's two labels that I was unfamiliar with that they sent us a bunch of tapes last month, and I kind of went through them, checked them out. So which one, Joe, why don't you pick which one you want to start with out of these two? Let's see here. More work for Joe.
Starting point is 00:43:23 We're going to do both. We're going to do both. Don't worry. I was worried. one you want to start with out of these two? Let's see here. More work for Joe. We're going to do both. We're going to do both. Don't worry. I was worried. I'm going to go with Omar Ahmad. Omar Ahmad is a Palestinian-American living in Brooklyn. That's a good city. This is a tape on AKP Recordings out of Los Angeles.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Ooh, LA. California. California. Yeah. Ooh. This is a label I was unfamiliar with. It seems that they got started, let's see, in 2021.
Starting point is 00:43:50 It's a pretty new label. Is that a drawing of the artist on the cover? It is. It's a painting. Is it a self-portrait? I don't know if they did it. Did they do it themselves? It's not. Somebody else did it. I was going to say multi-talented because it looks just like, I don't know if that looks like them, but it definitely looks...
Starting point is 00:44:05 It looks like a person. It looks like a person. Yeah. Nose, they did eyes. I mean, I never met them. And I've never seen a photograph of them. They did the lips and the ears. That's exactly what a person looks like.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Once you learn how to do faces, the sky's the limit. You could just do a person. The sky's the limit. Yeah, because you're an artist, so... Yeah. The sky's the limit. Well, they're on the ground in in that when that one but you're saying one day they could get up to the sky in the paintings yep wow art is just so interesting
Starting point is 00:44:32 and then they put music on the tape yeah and what music on it yeah you want to check it out it's kind of like um but both of these tapes sort of have a little bit of an ambient vibe to them but um i mean this tape the track i'm going to play is a little bit more ambient but there are some beats later on um but yeah kind of like a chill a definitely a chill vibe on this one really good omar ahmad i feel like when you open up the j card yeah the um the design on the inside like it looks like a like a sampler like yeah and the squares there's like a like a grid of squares and some of them i feel like if you wait long enough they'll start moving oh it's like a magic eye like it's like no like it's uh like it's digital like it's not pit pay like it's not paper like those yellow ones are moving around you
Starting point is 00:45:21 joe doesn't have his glasses on so glasses on, so he can't imagine it. Oh, this time I can't believe I couldn't see. Oh, here's the other one, Jamie. My eyes are going crazy. How do you say that? Okay, so I looked up how to say this. Okay. How do you think you say it, first of all?
Starting point is 00:45:39 I want you to embarrass yourself. Jamie's done that. I would just say aero vein i know that's wrong though miniaturin miniaturin it's all german german i see and so what do you think that means what do you think miniaturin means miniature miniature small yeah miniature is like an art piece miniatures from the from the latin from the latin right yeah well you're an art guy an art guy jamie um this project what's that mean how did you think you said to joe From the Latin. Right. Yeah. Well, you're an art guy. I'm an art guy, Jamie. This project- Arrivane, what's that mean?
Starting point is 00:46:05 How did you think you said it, Joe? Which one? The name of this? The first one? Yeah. I just said Aerovane, but I know that's wrong. Oh, because I was just thinking, I like pleasure spiked with pain, and music is my Aerovane. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Arrivane is an experimental IDM ambient artist born in ham lane germany in 1965 1965 yeah and he's got a lot no fear uh we have to talk about that right yeah i like that i didn't like it you don't like i don't like how it stopped oh i like i wish i kept going flee um yeah he's got a lot of stuff so this album oh sorry so we already talked about omar ahmad i think we're done with that one so that's on akp this one is out on pure magnetic that's another pretty new i don't know that pretty new label sent us a bunch of stuff last month um again it's sort of on the minimalist lo-fi um ambient side of things um this guy's like an idm artist but this album miniatures minotauran is specifically an album of trance so he you know how sometimes on those albums there's like transition pieces like 30
Starting point is 00:47:18 second long things yeah he took all those that were unused and made a whole album out of just these little transitions it's like that beastie boys record it's all their instrumental little jams that are in between the tracks okay they put an album that's cool yeah so it's a cool idea it's um so this album is a little less beat driven it's a little bit more just like short short little ambient tracks so pretty cool oh and this guy's real name i had to look up the pronunciation so um i don't know if you you can see but what do you what do you think uwe sounds like ue uve uve and the last name is z-a-h-n zahn i think it's like john actually i forget what that one is but i'm sorry all the german listeners are probably uve uve john uve aravane is his project you think flea was born in a flea
Starting point is 00:48:06 beer what's that coco you're very curious when he plays bass with coco how does that get set up i think they like they string string the four strings on the bass and then they tighten them on the top. Jamie, you're a musician, right? How do they set up a bass? No, the meeting of Coco and Flea.
Starting point is 00:48:34 Huh? Huh? That's called a headstock. Headstock. The neck. And then am I going to play tape? Action. I like it when you ask me for permission to do things things mike oh you get off on that yeah you're fucking sick
Starting point is 00:48:50 so sick since i'm a real head i'm gonna play another noise tape when did we stop being a noise show yeah when did we fucking stop being a noise show? We used to play noise tapes. We used to get on here and we'd be like, I got this fucking tape by Immortal Petulant Grindshake. It comes in an envelope. It's limited three. It's on a recycle tape and some dude pissed on it. Remember 3-inch CD-R guy?
Starting point is 00:49:19 I remember. I miss 3-inch CD-R guy. Fuck that guy. I found some 3-inch CD-Rss in my car i don't know why they were in my car oh is that why he kept stolen yeah somebody put him in the tailpipe um this is bronze stifter and durnal burdens should have looked up that pronunciation ahead of time. No, that was perfect. Or maybe something else.
Starting point is 00:49:48 I don't know. I think it's a split. I think it's on spleen coffin. Oh, good. That's Tim from Baltimore. I forget his last name. He played here recently. Timothy Wisnowski or something like that. Wisnowski. Hey, Wisnowski. Hey, Wisnowski or something like that.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Wisnowski. Hey, Wisnowski. Hey, Wisnowski. When's the new Spleen Coffin release coming out? Get the fuck over here. Where's that brain schnifter? Yeah, this is a split on Spleen Coffin number 67. Like you said, it's from Virginia or Maryland or D.C.? I'm pretty sure it's Baltimore.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Baltimore. Yeah. Baltimore. So, Maryland. Good city. Maryland. Excellent city. Orioles. Mamma mia! Who was that pitcher? The Iron Man pitcher? Cal Ripken Jr. God damn. Or was it his dad? Cal Ripken Sr. Oh god. Both of them. Damn it. Rest in peace.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Cal Rippin. He's Rippin. Did they pass? I don't know. I don't know who either of these bands are jamie maybe you can look that up okay all i know is the cover's fucked up the cover's like a fucked up weird collage shit oh what is this little guy we're ripped up painting pictures and drawings on top of it oh it's german this shit you look at it and you go, this is very... What's this German block we're doing? This is very German. I don't really like German stuff.
Starting point is 00:51:08 Well, strap yourself in. It's scary. It's very scary. It's almost too scary. But this is what this kind of shit... I'm not getting a whole out about diurnal burdens, but I do see they put out some releases on sound holes. Oh, I don't think this is a split.
Starting point is 00:51:23 I think this is a collaboration. Why do you think that? Because it says collaboration in German. Collaborages by... You don't know what that means. That could mean anything. It's from the Latin. That could mean anything. It's from the Latin.
Starting point is 00:51:41 Ah, amore. Oh, my God. I can't find anything about brand snippers. It's from the Latin? Ah, amore. Oh, madone. I can't find anything about brand snifters. It's an expression. Brand stifters. Oh, maybe I said snifters. Yeah, not snifters, Jamie. Jesus Christ, Jamie, you're an idiot.
Starting point is 00:51:56 No, I can't find that. This is going to drive you crazy. It's going to drive me nuts. Is this in Discogs? Look at him shaking. Yeah, he's going to... Don't mess that chair. It's going to drive me nuts. Is this in Discogs? Look at him shaking. Spleen. Yeah, he's going to... Don't mess that chair. It's just not on Discogs.
Starting point is 00:52:08 Brand Stifter on this does Vokes, Organ, Trombone. Oh, they got a trombone on here, Jamie. You love those things. You like it. Toys. Toys. Dicta.
Starting point is 00:52:18 Oh, Mike Dicta. Oh, Mike Dicta. Mike Dicta. Lubica. Mike Dicta. What catalog number is this? 62? 67. No no it's not
Starting point is 00:52:26 it doesn't go up that high and Fields they played the whole damn Fields 67 yeah 67 Spleen Coffin 67 cassette on Discogs
Starting point is 00:52:34 oh I'm only showing the first 25 I don't give a fuck what your precious Discog says I'm looking at the actual tape I'm looking at this this is what the problem is with the younger generation yeah
Starting point is 00:52:42 they're like I'm on my I'm on the fucking phone and I'm not seeing it on the website. I'm like, I'm holding the Wall Street Journal in my hands like a newspaper right here. Old school. Old school.
Starting point is 00:52:53 That's why you're ahead. I got my sack lunch. I got my black coffee. I got my newspaper rolled up. I walked here. These Discogs Internet Warriors need to do some work because it only goes up to 62 on Discogs. It need to need to do some work because it only goes up to 62 on discogs 67 and you call them are they open yeah wait a minute you are the warrior
Starting point is 00:53:11 i am the warrior and as a matter of fact this is a little bit embarrassing but the number 62 the most recent one is one i added myself by comfort link that's that's tim that's tim's project comfort i got that at final friday jamie that's beyond embarrassing and then Ross who's on here I guess Ross is Gurgleshifter it plays tapes which we love synth, dictaphone now the one guy says dicta and the other guy says dictaphone
Starting point is 00:53:38 the one guy's like can I show a little fucking respect for the instrument I play the synth and I play the synthesizer. Modular processing, effects pedals, and edit. One guy plays a whole damn field and this guy plays the edit. The edit. He's the one who just tied the room together.
Starting point is 00:53:58 Yeah. Yeah. Kind of like Pet Sounds. I'll blow that saxophone. Yeah, so this is going to be a collaboration, not a split, Let's go to the pet sounds. I'll blow that saxophone. Yeah, so this is going to be a collaboration, not a split, between Dernal Burdens and Brans Difter. Mer Abstin on Spleen Coffin.
Starting point is 00:54:14 Yeah. Real head shit. When did we get away from playing noise in this country? Not experimental music. Not experimental music. Make tabs out noise again. Make tabs out noise again. Make Tabs Out noise again. You know, what do Tabs Out mean to people? The T, of course, stands for tapes.
Starting point is 00:54:30 We love tapes. The A. Jamie, what's the A stand for? Like an abscess. Like an abscess. Nasty. The B stands for my man butt stuff. Joe B.
Starting point is 00:54:39 No. Butt stuff. Idiot. Butt. It stands for my man Joe B. The S. Joe B. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S. The S stands for shh, butt stuff. The O is oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Oh. The U is you want to do butt stuff? All right. And then the T is tapes again. The T is the other tapes. There's no noise. There's no N. There's no N.
Starting point is 00:55:09 There's no N. There's no N in Dabs Out. All right, let's play this. Thank you. Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 I'm you. so I'm going to go ahead and do that. so so Thank you. I'm going to go ahead and get my dog. I'm sorry. Scoundrels! Scoundrels! Scoundrels! Scoundrels! Please, submit! Please, submit! Please, submit!
Starting point is 01:16:21 Please, submit! I'm sorry. All right, we're back. Save the tapes, James. You gotta save what we played. Well, I know that Joe's was... That was a low-key block. We did so long ago. Wake me up! Oh, we did it? Wake me up!
Starting point is 01:16:34 A shadow dungeon. Jamie, you're busy with those, so keep doing them. I'll say it. Shadow dungeon. Pathways to the primordial Blackness on Out of Season. Running a sweet deal, maybe. Maybe still running it.
Starting point is 01:16:50 Check it out. Omar Ahmad, Inheritance on AKP. CDs, I hear, are coming back, baby. I like pleasure spiked with pain, and music is my arrow vein. Do it again you already did that bit it's funny again
Starting point is 01:17:06 yeah but it's still funny but still you know sometimes you get out there on the road and you keep workshopping you did hit
Starting point is 01:17:11 different words differently yeah and people like to hear the hits you gotta punch up the end people like to hear
Starting point is 01:17:16 the hits music is my arrow vein yeah you think Flea was born in a sleep year people like to hear
Starting point is 01:17:21 the hits pure magnetic and then that dinernal burdens and brand stifter probably not saying either of those right mer at mer abstent on spleen coffin yeah very good very subdued block to bring us to our last block of the show very nice jamie you've done a great job joe you've done a great job thank you thanks mike without Jamie, you've done a great job. Joe, you've done a great job. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:17:46 Thanks, Michael. It goes without saying that I've done a great job. Jamie, please. Oh, lovely. Well, I got two. So should I... How do you want to do this?
Starting point is 01:17:54 Jamie, why don't you pick? How do you want to do it? Well, I got another... I thought of another time I saw Pig Destroyer. Oh, yeah. I saw them in... Hold on.
Starting point is 01:18:04 Give me... Say what you have and I'll think about it. I have kind of a silly one for the end, just to kind of make people happy on the way out. So you guys can play your dark and brooding music and I'm going to play my happy. I saw them, it was a house show in Sterling, Virginia. Oh, all right. A basement show in Sterling, Virginia. You're a real head. Because I'm a bit of a real head.
Starting point is 01:18:25 Kind of the show, there's like a fucking couch there, and it's like, it's not a fucking club, man. It's a fucking couch there. You're a pig destroyer? Pig destroyer. What's your silly one, Jamie? Well, I'm going to take a look at... This is another one.
Starting point is 01:18:41 Jerky Boys? What? If it's Jerky Boys. My eyes are going crazy. Oh, yeah. What's this one? This is... Am I going last?
Starting point is 01:18:47 Should I introduce this? Maybe I'll introduce it now. Fine. Whatever. I gotta take this phone. You always talk amongst yourself. So, Joe, why don't you open up the tape? This is another tape.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Remember last time, Don Joe? I remember Don Joe. It was... I found it at my grandfather's house. This is another one from my grandfather's house. It's a super local New Jersey tape. It's from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, which is where Ryder... You know Ry know you know rider yeah i know that's cool i grew up like 10 minutes from rider university there's an address on the back that like i map quest that it's like super close to my house
Starting point is 01:19:12 lawrenceville yeah lawrenceville and um it's just a it's kind of like just a you can tell from the covers you know they probably were playing in little in like dance halls and clubs and like the vfw yeah you know at the at the elks it's like dixieland jazz lodge so it's pretty pretty typical but uh tony d de nicola yeah but you gotta need to nicola read off the whole cast in in your best uh in your best new jersey accent because i know you do a good one i do a good one oh i don't know if i now i'm on the spot we got tony de nicola on drums joe Medeiri. He plays clarinet, Dan Tobias on trumpet, Al Ray, piano. Oh, I like this guy, Ace DeSone. Ace DeSone.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Bass. So the track that I'm going to play is- Oh, and Tony DeNicola, band leader, plays the drums. Yep, he's a drummer. Drummer. So I don't really know anything about it. It's kind of like, it's a shame because I feel like all this stuff was lost because this came out all before the internet.
Starting point is 01:20:06 So I'm sure he was a big regional jazz guy. Hit. You look up some of the guys on Discogs and they play with some bigger names. There's some cats. They play with like Lionel Hampton. One of the guys. Oh, Lionel Hampton. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:17 Famous vibraphonist. But the track that I'm going to play, and I hate, we were just talking about like making fun of people and I really don't want to make fun of them. Are you playing? Wait, hold on. i want to yeah i want to know what track it but i think i guess when you're smiling yeah yeah with the you mean with the joe madiri vocal yeah yeah yeah i'm sorry but like i i was kind of laughing not loud and i was like hey mike um can you do your like your best louis armstrong like he's like when you're smiling that one's good yeah yeah no i'm not gonna get caught up in when you're smiling. That one's good. You top that.
Starting point is 01:20:46 No, I'm not going to get caught up in this. You're going to try to cancel me. I don't know. I leave the room. Hey, let's cancel Mike. We tried to get him with the butt stuff. He wouldn't do it. Let's get him to like, huh. Yeah, I did it. Nobody cared. You thought
Starting point is 01:21:01 it was going to get canceled. Maybe Louis Armstrong. We're, hmm, Louis Armstrong. You want to do Louis Armstrong? Well, guess what? I confused him with Louis Anderson. When you're smiling. When you're smiling. The whole world.
Starting point is 01:21:18 Stop doing that. That's good. Hold on. When you listen to this guy, it's going to make me seem, he does it so over the top, that voice. It's pretty hilarious. What is that, a standard that he's doing? It's a standard.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I mean, they did it in... Oh, that's... You know my favorite version of that song is when Leland and Twin Peaks does it. He's all crazy. Oh, yeah. What are we talking? What did I miss? Oh, you're missing the Tony DeNicola.
Starting point is 01:21:40 Another tape from my grandfather's house. You had another tape from your grandfather, huh? Dixieland Jazz Band. Oh, wow what how are you getting all these tapes from your what is going on you're stealing stealing his stuff you walk over give me another one pops you know i got him from years ago but i i'm just getting to them in my listening stack now oh i'm so backed up oh okay what were these like willed to you no it's just like we're going through his house like it's it's kind of like one of those things where it's like they're either going to throw it away, so it's like you walk through the house
Starting point is 01:22:07 and you're just picking stuff up. I'll take this, I'll take this little bookend. Kind of like one of those things where you're walking through, they're still alive, but you're putting stickers on all their stuff, what you want. I want the VCR. I hope somebody does that to me someday. When I'm too old to enjoy it, it's like, oh yeah,
Starting point is 01:22:23 take my mini-disc players. That'll be my final wish. Yeah. Have anything you want. Just put a sticker on it. You want these 905 tapes? Put a sticker on any tape you want. You could get a lot of money for these on Discogs.
Starting point is 01:22:35 If you don't take them, they go on Discogs. Just take them. That's cool. That's cool. How many more grandfather tapes do you have? I think i have i have one i think i'm gonna play next week that's next week next month that's like it's a guy that performed in atlantic city that half of his show was songs and half of his show is stand-up comedy
Starting point is 01:22:54 oh and i haven't listened to it yet but i want to check it out and they don't do that anymore yeah yes but it's like a dance man it's like another like kind of you used to have to be able to sit to do a song yeah tell a joke, do a dance, and then like, hold on. Hey, everybody, I'm going to spin a few plates. I need somebody from the crowd to come up here. Like a feat of strength or something. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Exactly. Hey, can somebody come up and sit on my back? I'll do a push-up. Whoa, mister, you look a little too big. Okay, let's give it. Hey, everybody, give him a hand. Hey, everybody it hey everybody give him a hand hey everybody hey give me come on up i flew in from st louis and boy am i on top so tell me where are you from mister yeah nobody does shit like that anymore so everybody now i'm gonna play my phone if it's any good i'll bring that in next time but yeah this
Starting point is 01:23:41 this one especially this i mean the rest of the album is like i can take it or leave it but this song is like it's special to me yeah i'm excited and i'm sorry to make fun of it but jamie i'm enjoying this art it's and i can enjoy it however i want to enjoy it i don't even want to know what that means yeah the shit that nasty kind of then dot nasty kind of stuff yeah don't even want to know all right i want to play two tapes one of them just came mr mailman gave me one of them today today no wait that can't be possible because today's sunday man yeah and because of the fucking unions they won't give us our mail on sunday anymore louis de joy because it's fucking joe biden yeah um no well i opened it today then that's what i got it out my mailbox today that's for sure they maybe they brought it yesterday so i was letting it sit outside getting primed i was
Starting point is 01:24:35 kind of you know get ready but this tape it's uh from by an artist named Tom Dissonance, from the jolly old UK. Across the pond. He went all the way across, like a stone, skipped across the goddamn thing, landed there, and decided to do a series of tapes of all 50 states in the great old US of A. All of them? In a very, why did you play that, Jamie?
Starting point is 01:25:05 I don't know, because... What about what I was saying made you want to play that? All 50? All 50. Holy crap. He got a virus. No, thank you. So, I don't know in what order...
Starting point is 01:25:19 Was it like Sufjan Stevens here? Well, I think it has something to do... But he actually did all of them. A note. Well, funny you should say that, because I think there was a note that came with this that was like, I'm picking up where he left off. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:25:32 But the first one, I think, was Illinois, and then I think maybe New Jersey. Delaware's number four. I don't know what order. It's just a crazy random order just asked ai like give me all 50 states in america but it just like in any order because they're not alphabetical they're not by population they're not in any kind of order i can i can decipher um neil hamburger did an album called 50 states 50 laughs where it's it's 50, and each one's just a joke about each state.
Starting point is 01:26:07 Oh, that's good. It's very funny. What's the Delaware joke? I think it was a quick joke. What is it? What is it? I'll look it up. My other complaint of this is there's,
Starting point is 01:26:20 well, this one's number zero out of 55. So they did 55 of these. There's 50 states. You just should have did 50. They're not doing them in the right order. That's my next problem. My next problem is some of these track titles are from cities that I don't know about. What is Viola, Delaware?
Starting point is 01:26:40 That's near Dover, right? Well, yeah, it's obviously down south. But like, what is it? It's a little town. It's nice. Is it nice? Yeah. but what is it? It's a little town. It's nice. Is it nice? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:47 What goes on there? There's a creamery. It's near Camden, Wyoming, right? It's near Camden and Wyoming, yeah. Viola. I never heard of it. Farm country. You'd love it.
Starting point is 01:26:57 I thought North Star was Maryland. There's North Star Road. But isn't North Star Maryland? I don't know. One of the tracks says North Star. Delaware? Well, these are all supposed to be Delaware. There's a North Star Road in Delaware.
Starting point is 01:27:14 So the London Bridge, the world-famous London Bridge, is now in Arizona. Yeah. I guess they were tearing it down to make a new London Bridge in England, and instead of taking all the old bricks and things to the dump, they carted them out to Lake Havasu City in Arizona and reassembled them to create an instant tourist attraction out in the middle of nowhere. I guess it's a good idea, but it could be taken too far. I mean, say, for instance, the city of New York. They, as you know, they just completely refurbished Times Square, 42nd Street.
Starting point is 01:27:50 It's a whole new world there. What if, say, Holbrook, Arizona? What if they, as a tourist attraction, reconstructed the old Times Square using the remains of all the scummy old porno theaters and seedy massage parlors that were torn down. Huh? Hmm. That's from Bandcamp. The Delaware one is
Starting point is 01:28:13 behind a paywall. Are you kidding me? Even for us? Yeah. Oh, come on. Fuck off, man. Come on. There's this track on here called Pike Creek. I lived there for a little bit. Didn't spell there. Me and you, Joby, we lived there for a little bit did a spell there me and you Joe B we lived there for a little bit together
Starting point is 01:28:26 we did a little bit of a spell there lovely time there's a track called Bear which isn't just an animal that's where my mom's from that's where I grew up I lived there for one year my parents just moved there
Starting point is 01:28:35 oh yeah lovely so how could we they know how they know how to pull my fucking chains they were going to send this tape it's called Delaware it's called Delaware
Starting point is 01:28:42 it's got a track called Pike Creek I did a spell there I lived there for a little bit I lived there with you for a spell there mermaid run too the deuce 5105 east brigantine court i think was the address what else they got on there i'm a big delaware buff uh you're a buff christiana christiana the fucking mall well also it's a town that's like by glasgow too woodland i don't know that one that sounds like a neighborhood it does it does north star that's where i live magnolia viola and oak orchard oak orchard i don't know oak orchard either and then there's a bunch of little type i can't get into it but like i don't know too much about tom dissonance it says that it's it says god there's
Starting point is 01:29:22 goddamn ambient music on here but i mean you're going to send me the tape it's called delaware i'm obviously going to play it that's awesome um and then i also want to play i lost the little kutramat that came with this tape commit i don't know how to say it's k-m-e-t come on oh dear and there are some villagers on the cover oh there's some gold paper. Gold paper with this lowercase Old English. With drippy. It's dripping a little bit. With angry villagers, they've gathered
Starting point is 01:29:51 their weapons. Schmert feudalism? I think it's smart feudalism, but they left out some vowels maybe. And they mixed some letters up. It's like they were playing Scrabble and they... It might be in another language. It's like when Homer Simpson Scrabble. It might be in another language. It's like when Homer Simpson says, I'm so smart, SMRT.
Starting point is 01:30:08 SMRT. So maybe this is like a Simpsons joke. These villagers look like Simpsons characters a little bit. And I don't want to get too fucking in the weeds and stupid. Weapons. I know. I love the printing of the weapons on the inside. The layout of the J card on the KMET
Starting point is 01:30:23 tape. And we'll figure out the label. Joby, you have it. Maybe you'll figure it out. CBR? I don't know. The layout is wonderful. They nailed it. Wake me up!
Starting point is 01:30:34 No, it doesn't say the label name anymore. What I'm talking about. It says CBR 007. 007. So whatever CBR is. Maybe. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:42 Well, I don't want to get to episode three or whatever, but the red leader tape with the gold shell- That's nice. Is sending me. It's the equivalent of butt stuff for me, boys. I can't get enough of it. That's the deal. That's very nice.
Starting point is 01:30:59 What's the deal? I love it. Very nice. Yeah, but this tape, it's- Oh, interesting. What do the deal? I love it. Yeah, but this tape, it's... Oh, interesting. What do you say? So the case is nubless, in case anyone was wondering. You and your nubs.
Starting point is 01:31:12 Let me give you some space. It's got the circles. The circles? Tiny ones. They have tiny circles. They're different size. They're little. You haven't done any nub talk this episode.
Starting point is 01:31:20 Well, I was saving it to the end. I was just for real heads, you know, at the end. Our subscribers, yeah, if you're listening to this, we have actually charged your credit card 99 cents. Don't stop any payments. They're not symmetrical nubs, though, for the three. Oh, really? It's like kind of an aerodynamic nub
Starting point is 01:31:37 design. Oh, okay. Interesting. Sorry. I love nub talk. Larry said he really likes nub talk i guess joe b's new podcast nub talk nub talk i mean it is interesting the stuff that they'll do with it i'll give you that it is interesting the stuff that they'll do with the nubs it's very cosmic brood cosmic brood cosmic brood that's the name of the i I feel like I have something by them. There's also another... Kletva...
Starting point is 01:32:08 Klern... Lerules. Oh, because, yeah... Oh, it's a K-L-E-T-V-A-C-R-N-E... Yeah, it says KCR-001, so this is a... It's a... They took two labels to put this out. They took two labels to make...
Starting point is 01:32:20 Because of the gold paper. Because of the gold paper and the weapons on the inside. Yeah. And that's... One label, it's their first release. Yeah. Yeah, it took two labels to put this together. But I don't know too, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:32:32 Jamie, what language is this? Because I have a feeling this is in English. Hmm. I don't know either. I don't know, I would say like. Jamie, please. Polish or something, right? Polish.
Starting point is 01:32:43 Don't just make those kinds. It's a limit to 100 tapes that come with either silver or golden shells. 50 come with white thick matte cover. I'd like to see the silver. While there's also a limited variation with either silver or gold paper. Oh, 25 each. There's only 25 of that gold one. Croatia they're from.
Starting point is 01:33:04 Croatia. They're from Croatia.ia knew it so yeah cosmic brood records is the one i can't pronounce the other one i can't pronounce anything on it but i guarantee you're gonna love it and it came with something it came with something it came with something something that they made like they crocheted something oh and you lost it i sent you a picture of it oh you did send me a picture remember i sent you a picture of something that was crocheted or something or maybe embroidered i don't know it was something it was done with fabric it was woven it was it kept me warm in the winter what was it how did you lose it i didn't lose it i just didn't bring it upstairs i was gonna say i see some other
Starting point is 01:33:43 little tapes and little blankets here on your shelf, and I could just see this one kind of cozying up next to it. Cozying up next to it. That's where it'll probably end up. Or next to this power strip tape that's in this illuminated path spear koozie. Well, in any event,
Starting point is 01:33:59 how you doing? Jamie, do you have one? Don't you... I'm doing that Tony DeNicola tape. Oh, so Joe B., it's your it's your yeah it's my turn right you're gonna end out this show yeah i'm gonna end with this this is for tapes adasi split with absolute key on maniac mutant music oh my god mystery four tapes for whatever dollars here's what it came with oh What do you call that?
Starting point is 01:34:25 I don't have my glasses on. What do you call that, Jamie? That little thing? It's like a tapestry. Let me see it again. It's like a tapestry that has a little... Oh, you could put that on your keychain. Yeah, what is it called?
Starting point is 01:34:37 Like you would make it in Girl Scouts. You'd make it in, yeah. Yeah. Your friend, and then give it to a friend. You give it to a friend. Or like a best friend. Friendship. Let's never forget each other over the summer.
Starting point is 01:34:46 Over the summer. A friendship text. But like, K-Met would be like, you'll take this and never forget me ever. What's the material? Is it made from string, or is it like the plastic? No, it's string. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:34:57 It's very nice. Did you put it on your keys? It's very important. I will. Okay. All right, you guys play something else from Out of Season? No, this isn't on Out of Season, but I got it from Out of Season. It's split with Adasi, split with Absolute Key on Maniac Mutant Music.
Starting point is 01:35:11 What? Oh, my God. I want you to rewind. That's a big Masonic number. From the B-side to Absolute Key's side, live for nothing, die for everything. Oh, wow. Hell of a life. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:35:23 Pass that. Good one, Jamie. You know what I'm doing? You know what I'm doing right now? I'm trying to find that package that you bought, because I feel like I want four Dungeon Synth tapes selected randomly. I can't find it. You sure can't find it? You snooze, you lose. They got a lot of merch on this.
Starting point is 01:35:38 It might have been a President's Day sale. A lot of merch. President's Day. What is a Dungeon Synth holiday? What is the most Dungeon Synth holiday? Oh, man. I don't know. Halloween's too obvious. What is a Dungeons and Holiday? What is the most Dungeons and Holiday? Oh man, I don't know. Halloween is too obvious. Halloween is too obvious. Oh my god, if you said Halloween, it would be like some- Arbor Day, because they like forests. Arbor Day is a contender.
