Starting point is 00:00:00 Awesome! awesome thanks thanks a lot no worries nice to meet you you too have a good day you too oh come on champs out tabs out cassette podcast episode who knows it do you know one two two two if you divide that number by two four times oh we talk about narakos constant no rocco's constant noroco's constant if you take any cassette tape's length and you line up the songs from best to worst and then worst to best. Yeah. It equals.
Starting point is 00:01:01 You know, we say 212, I'm like, God damn, 212. That's a lot of episodes of a podcast. But can I just get down on the couch real quick and have you guys just analyze me real quick? Analyze this. Oh, yeah. I got to ask. I only like part two. I got to ask the other day, a child.
Starting point is 00:01:18 A child or your child? A child, another child. What other children are you mean? Random, uh, feral children were wandering by. Okay. and the subject of the podcast came up around the child oh god they wouldn't show the yeah it was mainly 9-11 stuff they were doing there this kid was not into the 6-7 so the kid was like you do a podcast this kid was not into the 6-7 obsessed with 9-11 yeah this kid asked
Starting point is 00:01:46 tower 7 tower 6 7 power 6 7 power 6 7 wipe me up look in the town look it up everyone everyone to look up tower six seven do your research so this kid says you have a podcast and I went to a place in my head
Starting point is 00:02:08 almost like do I I feel like I used to have a podcast oh my god this again now like we never do it anymore and when we do do it Jamie messes off so bad no no we've fixed all that Jamie how are you doing old buddy Jamie's got it
Starting point is 00:02:22 He's a new Jamie How are you? The holidays he gets all crazy I'm cracking my knuckles Yeah I'm ready to rock Joe you weren't in the room yet Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:02:29 When he was like I don't know what only fans is We Jamie Please I asked to him I was like Do you have
Starting point is 00:02:40 He asked earlier in the morning Like at 7 in the morning He texted me like What kind of cables do we need Which cables do we need Mike And I told him And he said okay And then he got here
Starting point is 00:02:49 And I asked him Did you have those cables? And he said, no, I didn't bring them this time. And I said, well, do you have them? It sounds like you're trying to hide the fact that you don't own them. Like, why are you embarrassed that you don't already have the cables? Oh, yeah, they're not here. They're not here right now. They're not here right now. But, uh, hey, well, what is, uh, only things? I have tubs and tubs of cables at home, but sometimes, uh, there's some cables that I don't have like quarter inch to was that male XLR?
Starting point is 00:03:22 You can't say that anymore. This is funny because he says that I think he doesn't go to Onlyfans because he goes to tubs and tubs.com. We need to make our cables gender neutral, Jamie. My doggy music. Jamie, stop. All right. Anyway, since we're here, since we're recording, since we all have tapes around us,
Starting point is 00:03:43 why don't we start off? Jamie, why don't you get going? I'll just go right away into it. Oh, I thought we just did a whole thing. Did we not just do it? Usually we do like a good 20 to 30 minutes. Oh, I forgot about your trip to England. Yeah, I went to New York City and England in November.
Starting point is 00:03:59 The same day, same day. Did you give me that shirt from that tattoo shop? No, I'll show you a picture later, but there was a tattoo in a tattoo. There was a tattoo shop in Taunton, England called Drippy Bear Tattoo Studios. Drippy Bear, I think you said that. That's what you sent me a picture of. What did you bring us back from your shirt? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Was there Dubai chocolate there? There definitely was in New York City. I don't think I saw any in London. I saw a kiosk at the mall. Yeah. Did you get us anything? Did you get us anything? I was always too far away from record stores.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Yeah, but I'm just talking about a little like big Ben magnet. Yeah, I want like a notebook from the airport or something. Duty free. Duty free. I like to shop at the duty free shop. Oh, that's good. It was fun. It was a work trip?
Starting point is 00:04:44 I ate at one of Gordon Ramsey's restaurants. Was he there? No, it was at a place called Batter C, which, is the power plant on the cover of Pink Floyd's Animals album. It all comes full circle. It all comes full circle. But I had some fish and chips and mushy peas there.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Mushy peas. What's that? Are they squished up? Yeah. Oh, all right. Yeah, they always serve them with fishing chips out there. They're pretty good.
Starting point is 00:05:07 What was it? A white fish? It was like a haddock, I think. Oh, okay. It was good? Cod or haddock. Very good. Very good, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Battered? Battered? Fried? Yes, yeah, of course. Oh, of course. Oh, right. With some chips. with chips which is french fries you know one thing i learned out there yet chips are fat french fries
Starting point is 00:05:26 but if you go to macdonalds they serve the thin french fries and they call them fries that was just experimental stuff so chips are just like fat french fries you went to mcdonalds i didn't but i asked somebody an englishman out there englishman you've got to check out the englishman's mcdonalds yeah do they have a different menu you know and different McDonald's have different stuff i think so i didn't go into one but they have like frank and no what is it dickie on and all bangers and mash yeah they got uh spotted dick Spotted. Come in have a Dickie on an old.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Do they have beer there? They're called pints. Oh, pints, yeah. You go to a pub and you get a pint. You get a pint, yeah. Did you go to a pub? Yeah, we went to a pub called hung, drawn, and quartered. And I got a Scotch egg.
Starting point is 00:06:06 Oh, I like scotch eggs. You know what that? Yeah, my coworkers didn't know what that was. I got them at the Renaissance Fair. Yeah, they're really good. They're good. This is Jamie's only fans. That's like sausage around a hard-bolded egg?
Starting point is 00:06:16 Yep, exactly right. That's Dickie on a knob. That you're describing. Dickie on a knob. Well, it's regional. All right, who's going first? Oh, I have to go first. Oh, you have to go first.
Starting point is 00:06:27 You know why? Oh, why? I think because we have like, what's this called? Give me fuel, give me fire. This is like, I don't know. The name of the set tape? It's a cassette. I forgot what it was called.
Starting point is 00:06:40 The cassette. This is an important one, though, from this year that we have overlooked. Oh, okay. This year? This year, came out this year. And the last time we played this artist was in 2021. okay so this is this is a bigger artist how big big big got to be big seven got to be bigger and six seven like like if he plays a show somewhere like if he goes to new york city and plays
Starting point is 00:07:02 a show people come people come people come okay um we've played him on the show we know him personally and he put out an album this year oh giant claw you got it instantly he got it james it's a new giant claw it's a new giant claw and it honestly i've been wondering when you were going to bring the new giant ball i forgot about it like i bought it and then it went in my pending listening cue which is quite long right now so i hadn't gotten to it and then i remembered about it he goes to england he goes to england for a week now he's got a cue he's got a cue you're using all the words james me please um so um this is uh probably what his best release in my opinion really it's very very good um and you know like i own all of giant clause albums i think
Starting point is 00:07:45 you celebrate the whole catalog i said to celebrate the whole catalog but this is the best one and we You haven't really talked about... You're saying this is the best giant claw. Yeah. M-I-H-O. Jamie, please. Jamie, please. Jamie, how are you doing, old buddies?
Starting point is 00:07:55 Slow down. Out of this extensive catalog of this celebrated artist, I think he took his time, like, Tool. You know, Tool takes their time putting out a record. You say M-I-H-O? I'm-A-H-O. I said M-I-H-O. My in humble opinion.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Oh, okay, okay. Oh, it's English. I forgot. They do it a little different. They do it a little different over there, and he's picked up a few quirks. See if the listeners can spot a few of Jamie's London courts. As of last night, this is an edition of 300.
Starting point is 00:08:25 There's only 15 left on cassette, but it was also released in two editions on CD and one vinyl. I believe I saw a photo shoot of this cover art, of this. There's a person here wrapped in some sort of like latex squid costume or something. Yep. Holding a glowing orb. You know it's experimental if there's a glowing orb. They love the glowing orbs.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I don't know if it's a squid. They're in like a black trash bag and there's a, a big worm. I mean, I don't know exactly what it is, Joe. I didn't say it was definitely a squid. Well, a squid, there's only two, there's only two things. And I think that's a continuation of the one thing.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Some of the other things are obscured possibly. Okay. Who knows how many there are. Visual art by Ellen Thomas and Keith Rankin released July 24, 2025. You know Keith Rankin. I like the schools on this. You know, uh, Keith did the... I'm touching it.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Okay, I'll keep my hands to myself. I like the imprinting. Yeah. Oh, handwritten note by, Keith you see that where do they all get one or we got one we well it was for me it was for me personally thanks Jamie yeah Hart Keith you know Keith oh excuse me yeah Keith did the the typeface here because it's classic his style yeah none of the letters are the same they don't really make any sense they shouldn't be letters but
Starting point is 00:09:39 you know we've been making legal typeface we make fun of orange milk a lot but I don't I don't I don't want to make fun of this one don't know we're not making fun of this all I would Never. You don't joke about this one. No, no. What are we doing? Orange Milk? Yeah. What are we doing? Something of that prestige? Well, I heard somebody say, say, say, orbs and it's a, it was a slippery slope. I saw, I heard somebody talk about fonts. That's a slippery slope with orange milk. No, I would never. That'd be rude. I wouldn't do that. What's the name of this, uh, record? Deccadent stress chamber.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I was going to say something weirdly sexual. Decadent stress chamber is my vision of a satisfying pop music, a free pop that indulges in musical tangents and diverse song structures within the form. I'll tell you when I'm thirsty and I want something to drink and I don't want it to pay for it that's exactly what I want Yeah, free pop Free pop
Starting point is 00:10:24 That's exactly what I wanted to drink There you go Good one Jamie There you go Yeah that does sound oddly What is it, decadent stress chamber Yeah It's always got to be a little sexual for him
Starting point is 00:10:39 For Keith Rankin Oh the imprinting on this Oh wow It's like a crime scene The album mod is beautiful You know, I'm going to say, when you do a clear cassette shell and the imprinting is only on one side, I did this one time, put a label on the back. Put one of the stickers on the back, on the blank side. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:11:04 I think it's a pro, that's one of Mike's pro tips for you for the new year. Okay. I'm sure Keith is listening to this and he'll take you up on that. I'm sure he does, yeah. He handles all my clippings. All right, Joe B. So we got the new giant claw, which Jamie's saying is a very important day for this year. And that's some big-ass talk, Jamie. It's a milestone.
Starting point is 00:11:26 You got some big swang in ones to say this is the best giant claw yet. Yeah, and the track that I'm going to play. Oh, I was going to say that. It's the first track on the B side. It's called Die Endlessly. And it's like a nice little kind of like anime-type pop song. I love it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Joe B, how you follow this one up? I'm going to follow this up with, it's not new. I see you rooting through like a pile of tapes Are these just like things you brought or is this they are they are things I brought I didn't know if they were already here I had a pile oh you did have a pile for me yeah I see the little pile Three tapes thanks no I thought I'm trying to look when this tape came out Two I can't remember this is black braid two I just bought is that the artist The artist is black braid two is the name of the record oh three just came out yeah
Starting point is 00:12:15 like yeah like three um oh i wish i could pronounce this composed and performed by sagga gawal you wish but you i'm going to tell you right now your wish did not come true it didn't come true no you can't pronounce that and this copper on black probably isn't helping neither with your glaucoma see if you can read that let me see because you should fire it back in might this is mike this is a dimly lit room so oh it's yeah the christmas lights in here that don't provide a whole lot of illumination they're not for Jamie is that the only two options you got to rewind this a little bit because I want to get to the third track the wolf that guides the hunter's hand this is very um stark like it looks
Starting point is 00:12:59 like a mastodon record or something on like relapse in like it's very well made Larry doesn't like it oh friend of the show Larry does not like this why would you point that out because we've talked about it well I like the artwork I'll say that I'm not going to give if I don't like what it sounds like I won't mention it Really? Yeah, but the artwork is beautiful. Black braid is, oh, I just got my thing for Tabs Out 212 at 1030. My Google Meet.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Okay, yeah, we're on. Visual development and graphic design by Wolf Mountain Productions. Visual development. They come up with all new names for graphic design, don't they? Blackboard is a solo Native American black metal project from the Adirondack Mountains, led by the artist Saga, Gah, Gah, Sawa. Where's the Adirondex? That's upstate New York.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Is that where that is? That's the Catskills, Jamie. I'll be performing there this weekend. Where is the Adirondex? I think I'm right. I still think I'm right. I can't spell it. Adirondics.
Starting point is 00:14:03 It's a chair. Welcome. I know that. Yeah, northeastern New York. There you go. Not geologically part of the Appalachian chain. Appalachian. Appalachian.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Appalachian. Oh, it's home to Mount Marcy, Jamie. The highest point in New York. It features a vast landscape of forest, lakes, and river shaped by glaciers. Nice. Perfect place for black metal. Perfect place for black metal. So I picked this up in Chicago.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Oh, yeah, you were in Chicago for tortoise. It was great. I got a Chicago tape my next block. What? Oh, my goodness. I got to step up my game. You know that band, 90-day men? No.
Starting point is 00:14:42 No. Rob Ekey-Obre-Loe was in that band. Anyway, one of the dudes was at the bar we were at Nice Okay The Chicago story That was one of Joby's Chicago stories
Starting point is 00:14:51 It was good Yeah Hell yeah Well then I'm gonna How am I gonna finish this up I got, I'll ask you guys this one Oh giant claws from Chicago What am I talking about?
Starting point is 00:15:00 Oh really Chicago Oh wait no he's from Ohio Ohio He used to be in Chicago right No probably It's cold there You're thinking about the bear The Bear the TV show
Starting point is 00:15:09 The Bear Chicago Bears The Bears The Bears Is the bear the bear The Bear the show in Chicago? Yeah, no, the bear of the show takes place in the hometown of the Mighty, Mighty Bostones, Connecticut, Hartford, Connecticut. Connecticut, yes.
Starting point is 00:15:23 I thought they were a Boston band. No, you are thinking, you were thinking of the Aquabats. The cake bus. The cake boss is from, yeah, you're thinking cake boss. That's Baltimore. That's Baltimore, good city. I have a surprise tape here. Oh, a surprise.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Like something that got mail to us that's in, like, oh, I also have a tape somewhere with a Wilhelm Scrimmon, I believe. So that was very, uh, very apropos. So do we want to, I'm either thinking when I do that first or I do it last. The surprise? The surprise one. Is it good? I don't know. I haven't opened up yet.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Oh, it's surprise. It's like wrapped in this foil. Oh, I said, foil? Well, in like this foil, Joe, Jesus fucking. Take off your foil hat. I thought, I thought it was a little. aluminum foil. That's not unknown for a crazy noise guy to put something on aluminum, Jamie. It's right. To say it in your tone. Yeah. It's that. Yeah. It's some kind of silver encasement. Oh, if it's silver, it's foil.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I was just clarifying. I wasn't trying to be a dick. Files done. So do we, I'll do that last or do it now? Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. Do it now. Okay. Excuse me. This came in so many. Let me see it first. Oh, no, this is like foil. Jesus Christ Yeah, be very careful with it Because I don't know Like a lot of tapes You don't know if some of it is Is this the packaging? Are you give Joe some reverb?
Starting point is 00:16:57 Well, he likes some effects When he opens tapes Now I got it This does sound cool Oh man, I'll trip out to this man I can't do it Do you have a knife? Good to me
Starting point is 00:17:09 Oh, I got it You just got to start it You're doing great though I wish I kept the envelope The envelope that it came in Kind of got thrown away So I don't know who it came from Alright there's a note
Starting point is 00:17:23 Okay the note says Thank you for having me Chat told Gemini To tell me to tell you To roast me as you please Love M What's Gemini Jamie? That's Google's AI What? So Chat Chb-T told Gemini
Starting point is 00:17:41 to roast him. Will you go on to, will you come up, when we find out who this is, go on to AI so we can come with a really good one. AI will roast this person, I know it. We couldn't do it. I couldn't handle it. This is Moreado.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Moreado. How do you, oh, that's visually stunning. I like that. I like this tape. This is just a white. I like that. How do you spell it?
Starting point is 00:18:00 I think we might have played them before, because I have that tape in my house. Do you have this tape in your house? No, I have a different one, but I'll see when we played it's M-A-R-E. Yeah, we played M-R-O-R-O-O-2. in also November of 2024. Wow.
Starting point is 00:18:15 A year ago, it took a year to do 10 episodes. Yep. Like I said earlier. That was the Greg Davis episode. Okay. Did we like it? I guess we did. We played it right.
Starting point is 00:18:25 We must have liked it. Well, they got... Or either that or we like their packaging. Yeah, I'm wondering. Now, we have to go back and listen and figure out what got us to play then. Scorpion Bowl EP. The Scorpion... Oh, if I had a Scorpion Bowl on...
Starting point is 00:18:40 At one of Guy Fieri's restaurants, I had a scorpion bowl. Vosso records, I think. It's very small, so I can't read it. V-O-S-O-Rex. Okay, and this shell for this tape is very curious as well. Like, feel this. It's got like this texture all the way around the, like the edges. The edges of this one, Jamie, turn your headphones off.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Jamie, don't listen to this part. No, I don't want Jamie to hear this. That this tape is ribbed for pleasure, Joe. Do you hear that? That's around the whole. whole thing, the whole perimeter. That's some ASMR. But the center of the shell is smooth as a butt.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Just a white rectangle with the word Moreto. Oh, Jamie. Oh, the Moreto's a sticker. I hate it. Do we not want to play it? We can not. And it's not even cut square.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I like that, man. That's punk as fuck. No, this is stupid now. No, man. That's like the sex pistols, man. No, thank you. All right, Moreato. Hopefully this is slap.
Starting point is 00:19:40 of music. Scorpion Bowl. Did you check out any of the tabs on this? I just bring that up because there's a little... You mean the nubs? The nubs? The nubs? What did I say? Tabs?
Starting point is 00:19:49 I'm sorry. Let me see the nubs. I apologize. Me and Joe are going to make that nubs calendar. Yeah. We got to do that this month. The only reason why I bring it up is because this case has a... Like an indent for your finger?
Starting point is 00:20:00 Well, the indent is very pronounced. Oh, it's... Whoa. It's like a trench. But it's not wide. It's thin. It's more of a trench. And it's a trench.
Starting point is 00:20:08 Yeah. Whoa. So I thought with that. that maybe the inside would be special too. Oh, this is a good nub. I've never seen this one before. We need a sample for a new nub unlocked. A new nub unlocked.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Jamie, can we get badges? Can we get badges for each one? I'm not sure what we call this one. That's the first thing you have to do, Joe, is there needs to be verbiage. Nub enthusiast. All of these need names. Jamie, get your peeps on, peepers on this one.
Starting point is 00:20:37 I can't reach to you guys anymore. You guys are too far. I got it. gonna toss it uh it's all fucky here gonna knock my coffee over and then it's gonna mess up the recording yeah that's what he'll blame this time nice that one is pretty cool i like it yeah well what we describe it's like a single yeah it's like a cross but behind it yeah behind it is a is like a cross or like a medical cross like uh yeah yeah does anyone remember what they sound like moreto yeah from episode two oh two yeah i think it might be a band but i'm not sure
Starting point is 00:21:09 I mean, it's not, I know it's kind of crazy, but it's not like insane to remember one tape from a year ago. I don't know. I think it's pretty insane, actually. Now that you mentioned, yeah. I don't know what we played last episode. Yeah, that's true. That's true. All right, well, let's start off with these. All right. Fine. The chain, me, dare you just need. Those cheeks were as a chain.
Starting point is 00:21:52 I love your thing. What chain, what good, dare you just me. Her cheeks were as a chain I know just my name Between me There you need It is me
Starting point is 00:22:19 The cheeks Where is a red chain I'm allowed to flame Paltine look at night It's just me My head Tracer as a chain I loved her flames
Starting point is 00:22:43 Oh take me That is just me I'm chasing again I'm not just my name I'm going to fight I'm going to face I'm just going to
Starting point is 00:23:09 chase me I'm again I'm going to think We're going to be able to be able to be. I don't know how much. You're trying me Turn in to see To see
Starting point is 00:23:56 To see To be I'm looking I'm going to be I'm going to be I'm going to do that's a lot to do I'm going to be able to be able to be able to be.
Starting point is 00:24:16 I'm going to be. I'm sorry to me. We're going to be able to see. We're going to be able to see. We're going to be. Patsy, me. Pachene me Pachene me
Starting point is 00:24:41 Pachene me dead to be Pitchie Pachian me Pachian me Pachian
Starting point is 00:24:56 me dare to be but she's never change You just see me I came We're good that I'm asleep
Starting point is 00:25:16 I'm going to see I don't change me I'm trying to me that I'm just I'm trying me
Starting point is 00:25:37 Don't change me Don't change me Die in the spirit I'm going to be. E.A. Born on the blood, yes we don't go away, and there freeze in the silence of the sky, and steal the blasts, decay, and the attack, the ultimate daughter, and tired inside.
Starting point is 00:27:16 The simplest memory is the top To cut through the soul and the seeds The blood in the eyes of death Boards the tusks come large of the mountain Yes the red bind A swoop of this bar of each other as long as I live I give my life for life. Time of toss
Starting point is 00:27:59 On my growing The one of the edge Of the lies I'm gone Would move in silence through The grove, the scent, the aground of the ocean, a wind. I close my life and lend my destiny. To the wall and guide the uttered hand. Beign from the mind you're going to kiss.
Starting point is 00:29:00 The one of his head towards a right thing God! These compass, smitten, like the place in the shadow. Tiction I know I've heard my mind makes a tone We're going to be. We're going to be. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:30:45 I don't know. lives baths in the light of a talk cast on the wall not his head towards the rise such a son
Starting point is 00:31:45 His heart breath Smoking Like spirits Out the wind I don't know In my heart One boy makes its home
Starting point is 00:32:01 With some head You know, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know how much. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. We're going to be. I don't know. I don't know. We're going to be. We're going to be.
Starting point is 00:33:11 I'm going to be. We're going to be. I'm going to be I'm going to be I'm going to I'm going to We're going to be. I'm going to be able to be.

Starting point is 00:34:27 I never said. Seven in a new corner With the I just gotta say I just gotta say Something that is Swear in the glass There's a lot
Starting point is 00:34:51 It's a storm on his name With ashes in the house And this is you watch me dropping it in. And I don't know this time. But I won't watch me blowing it in. Oh, no, no. I'm just a little. Because I've got a shocker in a window
Starting point is 00:35:25 with the scars still on it ever plowed. I'm just waiting for the sun to plead The thoughts are never I can see a shadow to shiver In the bounds of the ocean Now I'll break them all down One by the wall
Starting point is 00:35:56 Shattered ground black was not so what's the rise of a second line and things that you can't turn now what's the guy for the second line you can't do
Starting point is 00:36:19 love I've got that song of the run I'm I'm back now I'm back now and I'm going to smoke in my neck I'm going to smoke around my neck
Starting point is 00:36:47 and spit in ashes and say I know I know I know I'm all I'm going to I'm out of this time. I feel like that much.
Starting point is 00:37:05 There's nothing to be in my mind. And I'm not. I'm not. Don't leave now Giant Claw With that decadent stress chamber Jamie calling it What are you calling it
Starting point is 00:37:35 Top 5 of the year Jamie I think so I think it's the best In Giant Clause Catalog And I think it's a milestone tape They're working fine They are?
Starting point is 00:37:44 Yeah are yours not working Oh no they're fine Oh my God You interrupted Jamie Sorry Praising Milestone production Yeah it's very good Very very good
Starting point is 00:37:53 Very very good BlackBraid 2 on Wolf Mountain Productions. We had to rewind that. Joby said, rewind it to you hear the wolf howl. Yeah, and that's when you know it hits. That's how you know you're a real head. Listen.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Listen, if you ain't ever rewound the tape to the wolf howled, you just ain't a real head. And then the mystery package. Moreto. Maredo with Scorpion Bowl, I believe self-released. Got another one through the cracks, doing a pretty good job. Like, we have to go back to episode 202 and figure out how they did it, what their secret is.
Starting point is 00:38:29 To getting on the show twice. Two tricks that podcast. Fool me twice. Can't be fooled again. Clickbait article title. Ten tricks to get played on tabs out. Now, typically, we would have, we could get our Instagram guide to figure this all out for us and make us a whole clip. But Jamie, I think, pissed them off because we've recorded two episodes with them now that both.
Starting point is 00:38:50 No, one we just didn't even do, and one that failed horribly. Yeah, one minute. No, it didn't fail horribly. It was, I was on point. Oh, no, no, not the, the, the, the, the, the, the, uh, the banter. The recording is not that great, but the, the, the quality of the episode was, it was very good. And I have it, if anybody needs it, wants it. Oh, signed up for our only fans.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Oh, yeah, James. What's that? Only fans, wow. Oh, well, I've never, um, what is this? I've been, uh, hearing this around the water cooler. What's that? All right. we want to do the same order
Starting point is 00:39:24 Jamie you want to start off again All right I got I got this tape Bish please Bish please Bish please it's like B Y-I-S-H B-Y-S-H and you know what that stands for Bish please I figured it out I put it together
Starting point is 00:39:42 This is a tape by Billington Goodbye Young Ben Billington Shugimoto and Harris Yeah Ben Bigger Bick or Billington on the synths.
Starting point is 00:39:55 No drums is done. No drums. You're doing the quick sales style. This was the Chicago you alluded to her. Yeah, Chicago Free Improv Quartet. Huh? Yeah, pretty cool. It's on Unifactor from a batch of three tapes
Starting point is 00:40:10 that came out earlier this year. Oh, what's the other tapes? I think I have two of them. Is it Slug and Vedic? No. Vedic dread? I'll let you know momentarily. I have that.
Starting point is 00:40:21 I believe that is on Unifactor, though, Rachel. Oh, this isn't on Unified. Oh, it's not? Never mind then. It looked a lot like it, though. No, this is. It is. It is.
Starting point is 00:40:28 I was saying, yes, you're right. The other tapes were leaked by leaking and obscureus. Oh, okay. They were leaked. Someone leaked the other tapes. They weren't supposed to come out yet than someone. We have a traitor amongst us have leaked the audio. The batch came out in June and still available on band camp.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Do albums still leak? Is that a thing that happens? Like, do albums leak? Yeah. They do? Probably. I mean, is it just like when it leaks, it's just like, well, now it's out. You know, well, that's always help.
Starting point is 00:40:53 it's been yeah no because you would have to have like the compact discs arrive at the store and all that there would be like a whole the cardboard cut out in the window oh all right all right it'd be like a release day but now like is there a release day or does i mean things still come out on physical media yeah they do they do more than ever i saw i saw uh hold on at best by oh i got to stop you there's no way that more than ever things are coming out on physical physical media now okay i was at best by the other day and you know they have the end cap of like holiday holiday gifts yeah i don't cassette player walkman walkman like what like pictures of them or they had one for sale no shit yeah and cd players like a cd man the uh the final megadeth album that's coming out soon
Starting point is 00:41:44 the all the ads have the cassette version yeah that's what i'm saying that's what i'm saying maybe it's not more but it's definitely not more than ever but i think we've reached a point there was a point where what happened you the new teller swift wasn't coming out on vinyl CD and cassette and now I bet it is yeah national audio company is breaking it in like I guarantee I could get the new uh um no I'm not disagreeing that some things are on cassette now I just think that before I just also mean everything was records too okay I don't think I'm gonna win this one I'm just saying maybe it's not more than ever but it's more than the last 15 years.
Starting point is 00:42:25 How much do you pay for a Best Buy cassette player these days? I think it was $40 or $40. Oh, that's good. And I bet it's garbage, though. Yeah, but it's smart for them to sell, though, because now more than ever... Now more than ever, you can get tapes and records. When my mom told me, they don't
Starting point is 00:42:40 make those anymore. Your mom's not, she doesn't know what's going on. Basically, this is better than Christmas. I still will never, I'll never let that go. When I wanted a record player for Christmas, she just said they don't make those anymore. And I'm like, well, I'm holding the new fucking 400 year seven inch um so like scott bybin put that out someone made this to be played you gotta be able to play it i think you can i think you can buy record players
Starting point is 00:43:05 my mom i think now more than ever we can buy record i mean not then that's what i'm saying then maybe she was right it was they were a little more rare you couldn't go to the best buy and get one right right right right you would have to do a little bit more legwork and as uh her adopted child, I thought you would do some legwork. That's funny that for a record player, which has an arm, you would have to do legwork. That's just interesting to me. There's some math works.
Starting point is 00:43:30 You don't get it. All right, James. Bish please. Oh, Bish please. Oh, yeah. Bish please on Unified. Chicago. Chicago. Oh, this is the Chicago one? Yeah, this is the Chicago one.
Starting point is 00:43:40 I had a Chicago dog. Not impressed. Oh, dude. The last time I was in Chicago at the airport, I had a Chicago dog. That was the best thing I ate all trip. Really? I loved it, yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:50 I went to devil dogs. From the Nathens. But, Jamie went to the Nathens at the airport. No, no bun. No bun, okay. Is the bun part of it?
Starting point is 00:43:58 Well, they put poppy seed buns. It's a seeded bun, right? But it's a poppy seed bun, which is interesting. See, I can't do that because I'll test positive for my drug test. For your truck test. With the algorithm that Jamie created.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah, Jamie drug tests us. That's why we can, we only record every two months because he's waiting for our piss test. Yeah, because after this, I'm going to eat like five poppy seeds. And I want to know, Joe, how much piss is he asking you for?
Starting point is 00:44:18 Oh, ungodly amount He's always like, I need more That wasn't enough I get to work I need more, I spilled all that Yeah, he's constantly losing it or spilling it Oh, it was contaminated I needed another sample
Starting point is 00:44:34 I'm not buying this like I have to watch you do it So I know you're not Oh, that's called an observed collection By the way, that's what the industry calls that When you come back from testing positive You have to do an observed collection Oh shit, okay, the industry And sometimes people still use
Starting point is 00:44:49 fake genitalia for the observed collection. I've heard stories. I've heard stories. I got some bad news for you. That's not what those are for. I remember Dave showed me a picture. I just got to get this out real quick, just so Jamie knows,
Starting point is 00:45:07 first of all, stop going through your wife's drawers. And second of all, when she tells you those are for Observe collections. She's like, this? Oh, no, no, no. This is for work. That's for observed collections I have to do. thing. Jamie's like comes home and says,
Starting point is 00:45:20 I just want to know what's this. Drops it on the table. Big bang. All right, what are you playing? Bish, please? No, I want to say first, Dave,
Starting point is 00:45:31 I'm pretty sure you text me a picture of this fake urine that you can buy at the smoke shops. Okay. But it's labeled for fetish use only. But I didn't get it at first. I thought it was for someone who's into water sports, but they don't actually like pee,
Starting point is 00:45:44 but it's fake pee for a drug test. Just like I can't say bong in a head. shop right water pipe yeah yeah i know that i'm cool you're cool yeah james i'd like to buy two water pipes please for tobacco use only for fetish use only wink wink all right then i'm going yeah someone said of some tapes that are for fetish use only i'm gonna play this tape by membrane this one i bought remember i played conspiracy a while ago it was like an all-girl like punk band yeah yeah but young Young kids, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Oh, yeah. I think I played that other hardcore one, too, that was also young kids. This one I bought in the same batch. In the same batch. That was the same pool.
Starting point is 00:46:26 Same pool, yeah. This came out in 2013. I know nothing about this. Well, you know it came out in 2013, so you're lying. Yeah, I know that. And membrane is Zach, Cedric, Aaron, and Josh.
Starting point is 00:46:40 All tracks recorded by Jordan Love Lace. Jordan. All tracks mixed by Kyle Hagerman. No label. Maybe this is self-released Have you not listened to it yet? I did a little bit but I don't remember I did when I got it
Starting point is 00:46:54 That's true I don't know why Why would I ask if you remembered it Yeah So yeah Rewind What's the name of the artist again? Membrane
Starting point is 00:47:02 Insane in the Membrane That's really hard That's another weed reference Yeah it is Jamie I'll read some lyrics This is for the song Nuse Got my head in a noose I was born here
Starting point is 00:47:15 I'm not scared no other master no other god man's forever what is going on here with joe joe's the lyrics what knows but it's like no i can't yeah no joe jr didn't really read them did anyone notice joe put down the jacard looked directly at us and just started saying that what was that joe your eyes got to rolled the back of your head and you're like no other man it was a dramatic reading it was it was an observed what is it azerb collection observed collection yeah i like how each um each uh song has its own little coupon that you can cut out inside of it. They're like all like outlined little. It's like getting the circular. There's flies. There's a slug at the bottom.
Starting point is 00:48:00 It's really nice like natural cream paper. I give one of those to my mom each here. It says, I'll wash the dishes for you three times. Oh, that's so nice. I'll give you three free hugs. I think so being gave a whole booklet one time. That's nice. Yeah. I don't know if we ever cashed those in. Oh, is there like a cash value on it? Well, I mean, like, not cashed them in, but, you know, like, traded them in for their value. They should appreciate it, too. Yeah, like a vacuum. But is there, often with these things, it'll be like cash value is.
Starting point is 00:48:27 Oh, really? And you can cash them in for money? Yeah, like, if you have, like, the monopoly pieces for McDonald's, and it's got, like, cash equivalent of $42.3 or something like that. And you can just take them back to McDonald's and get $42.3? I don't. With, you're talking about your kids thing that they made you? Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Yeah. Yeah, you definitely can. Absolutely. the English McDonald's with the bangers in mash with the dicky on and up oh yeah alright so that's how I'm playing membrane no idea what it is I had one banger when I was in England
Starting point is 00:48:55 one banger yeah oh I thought you it's Mike's turn isn't it I honestly thought he was going to be holding up a cassette tape when I looked over and he was going to say something that that was the banger that you bought when you were in England okay so now Jamie remind me what you played just so I'm in a good head space beish
Starting point is 00:49:10 beish please and I'm guessing that's just kind of like a free free form thing yeah it's a little bit more chill than that actually it's not like you're on a farm not quite a classic guide to strategy John Zorn style but yeah they extend the technique and we don't know what this is hot in here yeah
Starting point is 00:49:28 I'm heating up it's bad lighting and bad temperature yeah and bad Wi-Fi the Wi-Fi is excellent get out of here the Wi-Fi's excellent you can turn on that fan if you want you can open the door I can I turn the heat up for you guys really in this little room thank you it's because the window
Starting point is 00:49:44 have bad seal on it. Yeah, bad seal. Old house, old problems. Good bones, though. Yeah, good bones. I got, uh... I get angry, just think about it makes me mad. Every time I click tab on my computer, it plays that one.
Starting point is 00:49:57 I don't really know what to do about it yet. When I hit tab, it plays this. Tabs and tabs. Oh, that's fun. Yeah, tabs out. Neat. Hikaru Yamada and the librarians, blank in our spirits. Uh, Kudigee.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Are you saying blank because it's a curse word that you can't say? Yeah. I don't want to say it. It's a bad word. I'll say it. I'll say it. Shit. No, no, it is blank in our spirits.
Starting point is 00:50:22 Let me say. Is it the word blank or a line? It's the word blank. I don't say, I'm a big kid. I can say any of the words. I like this cover. They say it in the Goonies. Goodbye.
Starting point is 00:50:31 It's like a wallpaper pattern. They say it in the Goonies? They say, yeah, they say the S word. And this is a label that is a, at least I can't speak for everyone else. I'm a big fan. Every time they sense stuff, it hits and this
Starting point is 00:50:46 they had a batch I think of three or four that came over we played one on the bonus episode that Jamie Botch so it'll never be heard
Starting point is 00:50:55 unless you email him and sign up for his only fans it's a good episode Matthew Wheelock what's a gut guitar a gut guitar yeah
Starting point is 00:51:05 I'm not sure wow you Tatsuro Morikami plays gut guitar you stump the instrument guy gut guitar who
Starting point is 00:51:14 Um, who, who's this, uh, Hikaru Yamada? I'm not totally sure. I don't know and I didn't really get a chance to look it up. Um, I'm seeing the, the tags, Japanese pop, chamber pop, folk tronica, glitch pop. That'll get you in the good headspace for this one. Good. Um, play something just right off the A side of that. Still, no, it is sold out from, uh, sold out from the source.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Sorry, nothing we can do about that one. this is going to be the exclusive... Pick it up digitally. You've got to pick it up... Now more than ever, you can pick it up digitally. More than ever, you can get stuff digitally. Don't, you can't argue that with me. I can't even just think about it makes me mad.
Starting point is 00:51:53 I got to move that one. I'm going to move that one, I promise. All right, let's play these three. And then I think I might have a little game to play with you guys. Oh, I love games. I didn't bring my dice. We play a little game. All right, let's play these.

Starting point is 00:56:21 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:56:37 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. It's all right. I don't know. I don't know. I think it.
Starting point is 00:56:49 I don't know. I'm sorry. We're going to be able to be. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:29 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Thank you. So, I'm going to be able to be. Let me see what I'm going to be. Let me see what I'm going to be. I mean The United I'm Yeah
Starting point is 00:58:32 And Just out of the eyes Just out of the eye Just say is crazy No way nobody is candy Like I can't Can't
Starting point is 00:58:50 Tell me Can you Tell me Make free Tell me You know I never need me No I can know
Starting point is 00:59:06 What I can kill you What I can do See it! Fighting! Take it! How is? Help me! Get out!
Starting point is 00:59:26 Now! We're all I got to die! Sing it, demon, tell me, tell me, and hear it, tell me, and get it, and hear it. Always! Get out! Hey! I can't go and take it to get all right calling it in a lot of laughing.
Starting point is 01:00:37 We're thinking like you can't decide to die. You get it on me or you know. I don't know what to do. I know who I never want you. I had a reflection in the song and I'm trying to what they're going to do. Come in us
Starting point is 01:01:01 And this is all I want You are in replication And you're looking at me I have the last thing I see I don't know what I can do I have I know who I know You are reflecting
Starting point is 01:01:25 And he goes What? No! I'm gonna! I'm gonna! I'm gonna! Thank you. I'm going to be able to be.
Starting point is 01:02:31 We're going to be able to be. We must be in your own days My name is lost in pace from the curtain down The end must make Time so was getting chase and nights Yes, raise the skies of the skies of its eyes up its disdeme I'm going to be. I'm going to be.
Starting point is 01:03:34 I'm going to be. I'm here. ...Ina, ... ... ... ... ...
Starting point is 01:03:44 ... ... ... ... ... Minds is supposed to Blue all life is sands to uprook
Starting point is 01:04:26 made the park could last night in Texas in this gimmick existence unto We're going to be. We're going to be, we're going to be. I don't know In physics, we fit it like a world
Starting point is 01:05:16 Be-sweet-a-suitous start to unful Leaving me high, and listening stop made me home Myrrh See my melody Go through my face My step-page To do my name
Starting point is 01:05:38 My space Don't my soul Chichies Now this loose are three to the skies Best it's being Oh, darkness, don't go. Unlocking mistakes We say every time I'm going.
Starting point is 01:06:19 Bish. Do you think it's called Bish? Or do you think it's just B-Y-S-H? Because that's their names. I mean, I think it's a play on the word bitch. Oh, Joe B, you were a big fan of, like, the Da Vinci Code, right? I like that novel, yeah. So you must be going just absolute bonkers for this, like, decoding the B-Y-S-H-figuring out.
Starting point is 01:06:56 It's all their names. I can't hear, I can't hear myself. No, this isn't, I don't think this ranks up there with that. No? No. I think they ain't just think about it makes me mad. I got to change. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:07:07 And then mem. That was ununifactor. And then the membrane, uh, subtitled self-release tape. from from 2012 you said yeah is it 2013 did you know where it where the span is from no idea and it's really hard to figure out yeah yeah god if you get if anyone knows just get in touch the carri sycamada and the librarians blanking our spirits on kudegu records which we'd like to say quidiji which we'd love to say kudiji great label um okay somehow i have like five tapes left i've been forgetting to play a bunch each round typically i do more than you guys
Starting point is 01:07:42 Yeah, I've been, I was surprised about that, too. I flogged up and I feel so stupid. I feel like a little baby. So why don't I go first and then less on this one? Oh, okay. You typically, I don't know if you have. I don't have a closer this time. You typically have a close.
Starting point is 01:07:56 Did you have a theme this time? What was Jamie's theme? Midwest? Are we doing mid-first? Oh, I played. You played the Giant Claw, who thought was from Chicago. Yeah, that's right. Is actually from Ohio.
Starting point is 01:08:07 These are all artists, I think, are from Chicago, but only one of them is. Okay. Good, so you're going to think the next one's from Chicago? I think so, yeah, I assume. I'm going to start off with one that I can play a little game with you, fellas. Oh, good. You said a game, yeah. Yeah, it's not that big of a game, but it's just...
Starting point is 01:08:25 Do you like to play games? Do you like to play a game? Jamie, you are an instrument guy, so I thought you'd be good at this. I have a tape here from... I think it's pronounced C-E-R-C-A... Serca. Does you want to take a stab at that? Do you think that's what it is?
Starting point is 01:08:41 cross through I believe a self-release tape even though there is some kind of logo on the spine where you would typically find the labels logo. Yeah, yeah, okay. And there's some sort of I don't know. A couple wavy lines.
Starting point is 01:08:56 A couple wavy lines and an X on a line or something like that, but I don't think it means it's a label. There's like no information inside, so I know, they make it so hard for you. What kind of music get you off? We got two little deer on the cover,
Starting point is 01:09:10 Does. with people who used to say get you off to talk about stuff that they liked. That and like when people used to call sexual reference. When people used to call mistakes boners. Oh, when did that stop? When did that stop and can we bring it back?
Starting point is 01:09:25 Yes. So if there's like... Yeah, like a boner's mistake. Yeah, and if you like it, it's like what kind of boner gets you off? Or just like a, like the quirky guy at school. Hey, boner. Hey, bonerhead.
Starting point is 01:09:34 Yeah. And bonerhead. See, I think when it turned to boner head, it was definitely at that point, across what show was it where his best friend was named Boner Dugie Houser Leave it to Beaver
Starting point is 01:09:46 Leave it? No, it wasn't that old It was 80s Oh, growing pains? Growing pains maybe Was Kurt Cameron's friend No, no Someone, some show And he was like,
Starting point is 01:09:58 Oh, my nose is kind of fucked up Yeah, yeah Somebody just punched me I think he might be dead Oh man, why'd you bring this subject? I have to type Boehner in my search Yeah, you have to It is growing pains
Starting point is 01:10:08 It is growing pains I know it. Played by Jarrett Lennon. Is he dead? I have to Google that now. Yeah, well, you please Google that for. Jamie, give me a favor. Will you type in.
Starting point is 01:10:25 That's what we call Jamie's mom in high school. He's born in 1982, 43 years old, lives in Los Angeles. Oh, good. Los Angeles. I like the universe that we went to high school with Jamie and his mom. Well, no, just when I was at the house and she comes. come downstairs with cookies my here comes boner death i lived in a ranch house buddy we didn't have a second floor why did we all come from the attic yeah there's old boner death
Starting point is 01:10:49 milking cookies again so she's being nice yeah but she's disgusting and we all have boners up to that point disgust yeah because we're teenage boys just sitting around having boners here goes fucking boner death god now i remember it james another letter in the mail from discogles.com. They said stop mailing that I told you to stop using my forever stamps. They weren't around then. Oh, my dad worked at the post office. I think they were.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. I thought he was a programmer. Jamie had early access to the forever stand. Worked at the post office for 49 years. 49 years. Wow. Good pension?
Starting point is 01:11:31 Yeah, I think so. You think so. He thinks so. He doesn't know. I'm going to cash in on that inheritance. Daddy. Daddy. Daddy. Are you stuck in your pension, Daddy?
Starting point is 01:11:39 Oh, Daddy. Oh, daddy. Oh, daddy. I need an Xcel out of quarter inch, Daddy. The new John's On is out, Daddy. Jamie, how are you doing, for Christmas? So anyway, my game is, so it says that this, it's a solo instrumental project based in New York City with Virginia Roots by Darren H. So what's I mean?
Starting point is 01:12:05 He's lived in New York for like four months. Yeah, just moved to Brooklyn. his shit is still in Virginia Yeah Okay his shit is still in his mom's house And Sterling But he is It but where are you from?
Starting point is 01:12:16 I'm from Brooklyn Didn't you see my fucking discogs profile He's hanging out at the stone He's hanging out at roulette He's bumping elbows with Wendy Eisenberg Wendy Eisenberg He's playing the melodica He's playing guitar
Starting point is 01:12:28 Melodica? Melodica? Is it Melodica? Jamie, help me out here It's Melotica It's Melotica and Melotica Reloaded cymbals, bells, but also it says that
Starting point is 01:12:42 they play several non-instruments. Oh, non-and, Jamie likes that. There's no such thing in my opinion. Yeah, Jamie. Did you see, what did he do right there? He almost, like, punched something. I shook my head in, uh, vehement disagreement.
Starting point is 01:12:55 Two non-instruments. I would like to name two of the, two, uh, what am I saying here? You like us to name. I'll name two real fake instruments, non-instruments that he plays, and one fake.
Starting point is 01:13:08 one and you guess which one's the fake one okay okay you got a little background music from your game music for this little betting music a little betting music um uh I'll let Joe B go first I want to go first all right the soon as Jamie can come up with is that betting music that's good okay doctor's office porno shop religious ceremony And I'm guessing what? You're guessing what's the fake one is. Two of those are real. One's thing.
Starting point is 01:13:43 Religious ceremony. Joby says religious ceremony. I'm looking for where I put the... Here it is. That wasn't it? You're wrong. It was not religious ceremonies. It was porno shops.
Starting point is 01:13:55 Porno shops. Jamie for the steel. Okay. Jamie's like, what's, I've never heard of it. I would have said that because I don't know what that is or my favorite one. And my punch card is not. in my wallet um okay the next one music please fairy ducks ankle socks little ducks little socks
Starting point is 01:14:20 yes you were right ding ding ding ding little socks are not on here jubby you want a chance to steal this well i think i just tie it up you want to try to tie it up okay bars cars insects bars bars joe b
Starting point is 01:14:43 you are not you are not an experimental musician are you no no no no no no no so what two cars are not on here cars are what is on there we got i guess it says traffic oh jesus was ginger baker in traffic joe i think he was in traffic Ginger Baker's on here.
Starting point is 01:15:01 We were talking about Ginger Baker before the show. Steam radiators. Fairy docks, acupuncture devices, music stores, conversations around Manhattan, Plains of Iceland. Jamie, you don't think of Plains of Iceland is a non-instrument? You think that's an instrument?
Starting point is 01:15:21 I mean, you used it to make music. Sounds like a post-rock band. Yeah, it does. Speaking of it. Who just did that? I think that was a weird one. That wasn't like that was me. That was me.
Starting point is 01:15:28 I just assumed it was me. We'll keep it in. I was about to time stamp that, but we'll keep it in if it was you. It sounded like a little spring in your throat, point. I don't know. That was weird. It's never happened to me before, I promise. It happens to everybody.
Starting point is 01:15:41 Don't worry about it, Joe. It's fine. Go to Joe. All right, so I'll play that one. That circle will hear some of their non-instruments, their extended techniques. Jamie, that's what you got to do when you pass this tapes. Extended techniques. Oh, I want to really reach out.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Did I already pick? No, it's your turn. Oh, it's my turn? Yeah. Okay, because I'm going to play two. Oh, shit. But the other one is just a quick snippet, just I want to see. And actually, if it, it doesn't matter, I'm not, I'm not.
Starting point is 01:16:09 Tonight's a special night. I'll talk about it right now. So first I'll play this comp that Kevin at work gave me, Kevin Riley, who I work with, Kevin Riley from Tabs Out. Wait, Kevin Riley's from Tabs Out? He's extended technique. Did he just replace Jamie? Well, that's what he could.
Starting point is 01:16:24 He's the extended family. He's like the second cousin of Taps. He calls Larry, Larry, from Tabs out when he comes in. Okay. It really gets Larry going. I don't like it, but okay. This is a comp on No Master Music from Philadelphia, which is a label I'm not familiar with,
Starting point is 01:16:36 but if you want to look at their band camp, I like their aesthetic. So they only have the dubs. Huh? No master. Oh, yeah, no master. After a while they all start. It's a team-building exercise like the devil.
Starting point is 01:16:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I will exercise the demon. And the cover very much looks like a horror type VHS type aesthetic, right? Retro. In a big way. Retro brings me back for the video store. Maybe even an Atari game or something. I see what you're saying.
Starting point is 01:17:05 Yeah. And we got a whole bunch of people on here. We got Oldo Juan, Cory Duncan, Demon Dialer, Dead Forever, Guitarylis, Vespers, Bogbitch, Josh Jones, Pachuley, Gateway of 1,000 Sorcerers, Sam Palmer. And this name, you might remember or sound familiar, Dave Smolin. Remember Dave Smolin? Jupiter Records. Jupiter Records. Philadelphia.
Starting point is 01:17:28 He'll be a noisy guy. I'm a little confused. So you have people on their name like bitch demon and like gutter fucker and then dates. And Josh Jones and Sam Palmer. Yeah. Why doesn't everybody get a fun name? And Corey Duncan. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:17:44 Jamie, give them a fun name right now. Cory Duncan is docking donuts. That was good. Give you another one. Josh Jones. Josh Jones. Jamie, you do this one. Satan's layer.
Starting point is 01:17:57 Satan's layer. Sam Palmer. Satan's layer, L-A-Y-E-R. Oh, Satan's layer. Satan's layer. Yeah. That's a good one. I think we've done Dragon's Layer in the group text.
Starting point is 01:18:07 Next name. Sam Palmer. Sam Palmer. There's no blues in the dungeon. That's the name of his track. So I think this is dungeon synth-esque type stuff. Some of their other releases include... Or maybe it's dungeon synth friendly.
Starting point is 01:18:22 Yeah. Corridor of Flame by Demon Diler. There might be a little black metal interspersed. uh, night soil by Olda Juan and Bibo Part 1, Poor Little, Poor Little Lee Buns by Josh Jones. What is all this stuff? I don't know. It's stuff on this label. That was just experimental stuff. Oh, Bibo looks cute.
Starting point is 01:18:48 Look at the cover to Bibo. There's a little mushroom, anthropomorphic mushroom guy. I feel like I've seen this. And this one absolutely looks like an old, not an Atari game, but a, game for like a computer. Yes. What do you call? What's the first computer? Commodore 64. Yes.
Starting point is 01:19:06 Type. Commodore 6.7. With the big graphic title name at the top. And the cover looks nothing like the graphics of the game. Yeah. Well, this is adorable, though. It's adorable. I don't know what that's like.
Starting point is 01:19:19 This is a current label. This is a current label. Newcom. Am I free to go? That one of Kevin's friends is one of these people. I can't remember which. I hope it's one of the ones we made up. Satan's layer.
Starting point is 01:19:29 It's Satan's layer. Satan's layer. I can't believe Jamie doesn't automatically give me a reverb. Oh, and it looks like Bebo, which does make sense, is in the comfy synth genre. Satan's layer. No master is a cursed collective creating tunes to appease the deadly god that lives in the basement of our corporate headquarters. Exclusively human-made synth music. This is very thematic as well.
Starting point is 01:19:58 I'm like, so I guess It's in the horror, the computer game It's on side A, so we'll just play Oldowan Just because it's already cute Yeah, OldoWan Is extremely delicate And pick up Oldawan's other cassette tape on this label Which is called Night Soil
Starting point is 01:20:16 So I have an idea for a label, like a cassette label Or like some sort of project Oh, that's an original soundtrack to Night Soil Night Soil might be a game Where like your label, the theme of it is it is an old video game company that was putting out games
Starting point is 01:20:35 but something happened like they got haunted and this is like the music from them okay like corrupted like corrupted video games okay not the band corrupted whole new thing whole new thing it's fake you're making this all up
Starting point is 01:20:48 it's a persona and you're a thing is I take all these old Commodore 64 games and I like put them in my microwave and then I play them and this is what it sounds like I don't have a microwave. Oh, fuck, then. Okay, we'll think of something. We'll brainstorm something.
Starting point is 01:21:01 I have two microwaves. You have two? Why? Because he's our wealthy friend. My house was built in the 90s. It was, there was a lot of 90s luxuries in my house. There's one in the living room? I'd love to know where the second microwave is.
Starting point is 01:21:11 Yeah, where's the second one? No, no, I don't want to. Don't tell me. Don't tell me. It's part of the oven. Oh. It's like a double oven type thing. Double oven.
Starting point is 01:21:17 Yeah. But the top oven's a microwave. Interesting. So where's the other microwave? To the side of it. To the side of it. How close were they to each other? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:21:26 They were both in the house when we moved down. This is why I didn't want to. And they both work. Yeah. We use them. Actually, it's really nice when you got to warm up leftovers. Yeah. Double duty.
Starting point is 01:21:36 If you're like one, one you want just a minute and the other one you want. Parallel processing. Parallel processing. That's a computer science term. You ever put one microwave inside the other one? You can't do that. No. You can't do that.
Starting point is 01:21:47 Okay. All right. I'll just play one track off this. All right, Jamie. Corpus compass. All right, fine. When did this? come out, Joe? This is new. Yeah, new.
Starting point is 01:21:57 Oh, wait, I didn't go yet. No, that's why we said. Oh, maybe this came out in 2014. And you said, all right, fine. Because I thought we were going to play the music. No, because I still do another one in Joe might do it. We've been really, uh, okay. This might have came out in 2014 or 2024. Yeah, 2012. But this is a number, the first release off this label. No Master Music. Started with a comp. I like that. I like when a label starts off of the comp. Like, just so everybody knows what we're going to do. This is it. This is what we're going to do. This is the
Starting point is 01:22:22 style we're doing. This is it. This is it. all right Jamie you go now man oh wait I said I was playing too well you can come back around let Jamie go he's got two microwaves yeah um so this is a label that maybe we overplay a little bit strategic tape reserve yeah but we love them no we love them
Starting point is 01:22:37 they put good stuff out what is that I mean we play I mean there's some labels they send us basically everything they release and and it's always good it's very good um but this is one like when you think of strategic tape strategic tape reserve what do you think of what do I think of I think of uh you mean like a specific kind of release or do you think of just like a vibe a vibe uh well it's got me laughing it's funny
Starting point is 01:23:00 but it's still like it's serious it's it's it's tongue and cheek tongue and cheek yeah it's um tongue and pocket now amen called it a joke label but i think not a joke and shape yeah i don't think they're a joke label but this tape it does not remind me of tongue and cheek or or anything like that it's it's kind of a noise album but like it's a split this is a split between cromwell Ada Twix here and y'all. Y'all come back now. Oh, it's y'all? No, Y-O-L.
Starting point is 01:23:30 Oh, y'all. Yeah, I'm going to play the y'all side. Y'all. This is an anonymous artist, it seems. Y'l is an artist working in performance, visual art, and text. Found objects' mouth noise, mangled language. So this is kind of like a noise tape with like,
Starting point is 01:23:45 like, with vocalizations and spoken words. Oh, all right. I like spoken. Words that are spoken. And the A side from where. what I remember, Cromolaida Twix here. That's right. I was just going to put some verb on that. Cromwellia tics here, from what I remember,
Starting point is 01:24:06 is a little bit more in the ambient side, but there was quite a bit of spoken word on it. So I think that's the theme of this split. The theme of this one is spoken words. But the y'all side's a little bit more intense. That's the B side, so that's what I'm going to play. I'll pass it around. Intense.
Starting point is 01:24:17 See, that's a tall. That was a toss, Jane. Yeah, got a little backspin on it. Yeah, that was a little English. Oh, by the way, when I went to England, I saw a Premier League game. And Premier League is what sport? Soccer football.
Starting point is 01:24:27 You call it a football match. Footy. You don't call it a soccer game. You went to a footie scrub. You went to the stadium? Yeah. How was it? Were there hooligans there?
Starting point is 01:24:34 Dude, it was awesome. That was my favorite part of the whole trip. Because they sing the whole game. Oh, yeah, they sing. But I can't tell what they're singing because it's very British. Because each player. I think each player has like a song. And yeah, the team has a song.
Starting point is 01:24:52 There was like 50 songs. I had so much fun. Did you get a scarf? I didn't get a scar. I didn't get any merchandise. But the team we were rooting for was called the Crystal Palace Eagles. Oh, I like that. So were the Eagles.
Starting point is 01:25:06 Crystal Pepsi Eagles. And there was a Philadelphia guy in the concession stand going, E, A. He was like, anybody from Philly here? And you were like, I'm outside of Philadelphia. I am. Yeah, I'm from Wilmington, Delaware. In Jersey, originally.
Starting point is 01:25:20 And he's like, I need a ride. I don't know how I got him. but I got to get the fuck back. Oh, that's funny, Jamie. But very fun. I recommend anybody, even if you're not in sports, go see a soccer game overseas.
Starting point is 01:25:30 It's very fun. It's got to be overseas. It can't be like a Philadelphia Union game. No, no, you got to go overseas. Because they don't sing, too. I hear they have chances. Yeah, but it's not like, it's not as Rockets.
Starting point is 01:25:39 It's not like the Great British Isles. It's a fooing. Who are the match? Who are the match? Well, yeah, oh, na, na, na, let's get a own and a nap. Yeah, give me some
Starting point is 01:25:52 crowd in the background, we're all doing it. We're like, we're going to me and a dicky on a knob. A dicky on a knob. You're from Northern England, Manchester. Jamie, I have another question.
Starting point is 01:26:05 I speak the Queens English. Since you're talking about your travels. Royal pronunciation. When you said earlier that you went to Chicago once, and the best thing you had was a hot dog at the airport, where are you like in Chicago for a few days and then you were just like, I want to go back to the airport real quick and get a hot dog.
Starting point is 01:26:19 I can't do that anymore. Yeah, you can't do that anymore. Post 9-11. Files done. Files done. You know, you get the deep dish pizza, which is, it's always fun. Have you ever tried that before? No, I like thin pizza anyway.
Starting point is 01:26:30 It can't have bread. It's basically like eating a piece of lasagna. That's, that's violence to Joe B. He'll die if he eats that much bread. That's true. I'm sorry, Joe. It's all right. And then the cheese, everyone on top of that.
Starting point is 01:26:40 Let me see what my blood sugar is. Yeah. Probably high. Just talking about this. Sorry. But I can see why you didn't like the Chicago dog with no bun because it's kind of a sloppy mess if you don't have a bun holding it all together. It's kind of like.
Starting point is 01:26:52 you got a hot dog with pickles and hot peppers and ketchup and mustard and relish it's a lot of stuff just it's very sloppy with no bun it's very sloppy I had a little thing I ate with a fork yeah like a proper gentleman
Starting point is 01:27:07 and a knife a proper bloke I bring my own a bangin all right so I'm gonna play this real quick just as a test so last time I played that voyage to outer space
Starting point is 01:27:16 remember that one oh do you want to end with this because I have one more too oh yeah I'll end with this I want to play this and this tape it came in the mail the other day and it's been fucking with me
Starting point is 01:27:26 because I know we played another one of these tapes is a Mandela effect type situation This is Storyteller It's a Mandala or Mandela? I don't know I think it's Nelson Mandela effect
Starting point is 01:27:38 So good It's the Nelson Melotica effect This is Storyteller Five is the name of the album It's on a label called like Adada That or something like that A D-A-A-T or something like that
Starting point is 01:27:52 something. Jamie, I'll need you to look this up. Did you know this tape was originally just... Storyteller. Five. Blood on the Fairway. I know we played another storyteller tape before.
Starting point is 01:28:06 This is like... I like this. It's the fifth installment, obviously, of the storyteller saga. How do you spell fairway? F-A-R-W-A-Y. I know. It tells the one, the woeful tale of
Starting point is 01:28:17 golf and extraterrestrial cannibalism. Storyteller is a spoken word and electroacoustic cassette collaboration. And I know we played one of these before, but I can't find a trace of it anywhere on the entire internet. I blame AI.
Starting point is 01:28:34 It's not on discogs. Is that Larry? Larry from Tabs out? No, he just wears the bike hat with a little stupid brim. I do love inside. This is another one that looks like an old video game,
Starting point is 01:28:49 like an old Commodore 64. Yeah. But on the inside, there's a picture of a... In front of a record store or something. Yeah, like a music shop, region sounds. And I'm guessing this is the two guys. The two boners are at the bottom. These two boners down here having a laugh,
Starting point is 01:29:03 getting off behind these lines. I do like how they describe the two guys in this project as there's Bruce McClure. Okay, Bruce McClure. He's a descendant of the Australian bush poet, Banjo Patterson, the lyricist behind waltzing Matilda. Wow. And then there's another guy.
Starting point is 01:29:21 And then, like, Bjorn Hackensack or something like that. The, uh, yeah, Bjorn Hattelskog. They don't say anything about any of his relatives. Origin story written and read by Bruce McClure. Chanting by Mark Wagner. Illustrations by Chris Wright, Turbo Island. So is it possible, Jamie, have you found anything? Have we ever played?
Starting point is 01:29:40 I have not found anything from this. No. Are you in the RSS feed, like Lawmower Man, looking for the data? But in the RSS feed, we just have artist names. So it doesn't really work well for comps. Well, what about this? What are you talking about? This isn't a comp?
Starting point is 01:29:50 This is not a comp? I'm not a comp, you idiot. They're called what? I'm a copy-wit-story-teller. Oh, really? Jopi, that's really good. I'm a comp, you idiot. Why hasn't anyone done that yet?
Starting point is 01:30:01 We played storyteller on episode 134. I don't want to say we, because I wasn't on it. Episode 134 from 2018, we played storyteller. Okay, I knew it. I knew it. I just couldn't find it. Yeah. Yeah, why isn't anyone making that comp?
Starting point is 01:30:14 I'm a comp, you idiot. I'm a comp, comp you idiot. It's all like Arnold inspired, stuff from Terminator 2 soundtrack covered. Remixed. Episode 134 had a pretty good playlist. Yeah, we always do. We're tastemakers. So, yeah, I'll close out with this.
Starting point is 01:30:32 Yeah, well, yeah, I'm dying to know what this is. Well, so remember I played Voyage to Outerspace? You played that weird tape for the robot? Yeah, it was a robot that... And it had the two crazy mono tracks that then would the track in the middle. Oh, I loved that. The tape was made for a robot that was like a toy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:47 A learning toy for children. So this is the second one. this one's called Fascinating Facts But what I want to do this time Which it might Break your record Your tape player See that sounds like a strategic tape reserve
Starting point is 01:30:59 I want to play Yeah big time The wrong side Oh Highly illegal Because me and Kevin have a theory Of what it's going to sound like But I don't want to say it until I hear it
Starting point is 01:31:11 Okay my guess is that it's blank My guess is not that And you haven't tried yet I haven't tried it yet That's what we've got to rewind it all So as we know from the previous episode, these tapes, for what is the robot called? It was like the Tiger.
Starting point is 01:31:25 2xel. Tiger 2xel. This is for ages 4 to 9. Little kids. Yeah. So if you're 3 or 10, you're fucked. Get the fuck out of here, kid. 1992, Tiger Electronics.
Starting point is 01:31:36 You can get the vintage Tiger XL on Etsy for $125. In box. Joe, do you want to say what you think is going to? No, because I want to hear it first. Okay. Do you want to write it down? Well, when we're... When you're rewining it, I'll tell you.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Okay. Okay. Yeah, and that's how we'll end the episode. It might be blank. And if it's blank, we'll listen to like two or five minutes up. Well, they'll be like... If it's blank, should we just unmute our microphones and we'll do commentary for it so everyone knows we're still here? Yes.
Starting point is 01:32:06 Yeah, I think Spotify won't allow too much... Black space? Yeah. Okay. We'll put reverb on it. Dead air. That's experimental stuff. I would try to get to that one, but I don't want to miss your T, that.
Starting point is 01:32:17 Non-musical instrument. It's just experimental stuff. All right, well, let's get into this. What if we played a Francisco Lopez track? Isn't that, like, mostly silence? It doesn't change very often. Right, okay. It's unwavering.
Starting point is 01:32:31 What about, like, 433? What happens to that on Spotify? Well, you can hear, let people coughing and shuffling, and there's their chairs. No, because somebody's sitting there. Somebody's got an irritable bowel syndrome sitting there. Did I tell you about that? Unwrap a piece of heart candy.
Starting point is 01:32:46 That record I bought that's just blind. Like, it has a groove, but there's absolutely no sound. It was like some protest record. Oh. Yeah, and it was on... That did a whole lot, didn't it? It was on, like, Atlantic. It was on, like, a major label.
Starting point is 01:33:01 Excellent cover art, I bet. I bet the cover art's awesome. And then it just, the reason I bought it because it said blank record, no music. Oh, that's fun. Oh, you know who else said that? But it has tracks. We listened to it to Jupiter, and he just kept moving it,
Starting point is 01:33:13 but there's absolutely nothing. John Olson did something like that on American tapes. Oh, really? No state, no sound? I think it was called. It was like a one-sided LP comp where everybody had like a minute of silence. Huh.
Starting point is 01:33:25 Yeah, I remember that. But like this is not like a, you know, a minute of silence is if like you're recording so you're going to hear something. Right, right. Like Jamie said, shuffling. I like the idea of like a 433 recordings but from the back of the room.
Starting point is 01:33:36 Give me the recording from the back of the room. I don't want to hear the guy playing it. No. I want to hear people's candy open. I want to hear a little kid go. Candy, do you think people had candy? They got hard candy open. I want to hear a kid go, mom,
Starting point is 01:33:47 Mom, when can we leave? What's the piano guy doing? I don't hear Jamie talk about mommy. I got to do dumpy. Oh, mommy. Daddy. Daddy. Here, rewind that.
Starting point is 01:33:59 Postmaster daddy. I got to rewind the wrong side. Yeah, rewind the wrong side. All the way. So are you saying do this now? Which is going to be the last thing. Okay, it's last thing. Okay.
Starting point is 01:34:11 So that's it for this episode. That's it. That we did it. Financially, we are covered. We're in the red. We're in the way. That's good. bad.
Starting point is 01:34:47 I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm gonnae. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mmm. Hmm.
Starting point is 01:35:06 Hmm. I'm going to be. I don't know. I don't know I'm going to be able to I'm going to I'm going to I'm going to
Starting point is 01:35:21 I'm going to I don't know. ...notice... ...withal... ...their... ...their... I don't know. ...thenes.
Starting point is 01:35:55 ...you know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I'm going to be.
Starting point is 01:36:09 I don't know. I don't know. We're going to be. We're going to be able to be. We're going to be. We're going to be. We're going to be. I'm going to do it.
Starting point is 01:36:25 I don't know. I'm going to We're going to be able to do. It's a lot of Thank you. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:37:37 I'm... ...their... ...their... ...their... ...their... You know, I'm We're going to be.
Starting point is 01:38:39 Thank you. So, you know, the So, you know, I'm going to be able to be. And so, I'm going to be able to
Starting point is 01:39:44 ...whoe... ...withal... ...their... ...their... ...the... So, I'm going to be able to be. You know, I'm going to be.
