I have the same conversations with my son.
You and your college friends enjoy underground video and audio tapes.
Tabs out.
Oh, oh, sorry.
Tabs out cassette podcast.
Episode number, episode number 216.
Oh, 16 on the scene.
In on the scene with 216.
I'd be real mean.
You know what I mean?
That's a big Masonic number.
Joe B, I didn't know you could rap, man.
Yeah, I spit bars sometimes.
Oh, shit, dude.
many talents.
You have so many talents.
I've known you for so long,
but one day,
every day it's something new with you.
I'm always working on something new.
A lot of iron in the fires.
I saw you.
What were you cooking the other day?
You had a big pot.
Iron.
You were in your backyard with a big pot.
Yeah.
And you were like, gumbo.
Gumbo.
Yeah, you've been working on you.
I'm a gumbo guy now.
You keep saying I'm working on my,
I got to go home,
I work on my gumbo.
And what kind of gumbo is?
It's an interesting one.
Oh, yeah, it's a weird one.
It's lizard.
It's a lizard.
It's a lot lizard gumbo.
It's a lot lizard gumbo.
It's just typical gumbo, but you serve it.
You go down to the lot.
Well, they need food.
They're working all day and night.
It's tough being a lot lizard.
I can't tell what's a bit and what's not a bit anymore.
Well, do you know what a lot lizard is, James?
Oh, yes.
Okay.
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Mama me.
They got to eat, and it's sometimes it's...
It's hard out there on the truck stop.
And warm.
Sometimes it's...
it's warm, sometimes it's cold.
But my gumbo's always hot.
It's thick. It retains heat really well.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You put that okra in it?
Yeah, it thickens it right up.
Yeah, your shirt says my gumbo's always loaded.
What's that called a roux? You have to make a rue.
You have to make a rue. Nice and brown, dark chocolate brown. Dark chocolate bound rue.
Oh, right. So who's got some cassette tapes in front of them? Because I'll tell you something right now.
What?
We get a lot of tapes.
mail. We do get a lot of tapes in the mail.
And a lot of times it's just like,
what is this? What are you doing? What are we
doing? What is this? But sometimes.
This past like few
weeks, my mailman's
been like, these things are smoking.
I'm not sure what's going on, but he's been delivering some heat
and they've been smoking. I got
so much stuff I want to play. I'm already
overstuffed.
I'm like big
Thanksgiving dinner
on the couch.
Oh, triptophan.
I got my belt open one loop
So many teams
Watching the birds
Watching the birds
And I can't even play all this shit I want to play
So I'm going to say
I can't start because I'm too overwhelmed
You're too overwhelmed
I'm too overwhelmed of a man
Of a cassette man right now
So somebody else has got to
Go to Joe
All right
Somebody's got to do something
I'll play this big boy here
Destruction of an Angel
A forbidden
Psalm campaign
by Gage Brighman.
So this is a...
So it's in the VHS style tape.
When you say the big one,
you weren't messing around.
And we got a tape on the inside,
which I believe is like...
So this is a little campaign adventure
for a miniature war game
called Forbidden Somme.
Destruction of an Angel
is a multiplayer war game narrative campaign
consistent of three sessions
best enjoyed by two to four players.
And it comes with a little book inside
which is the
basically the rules for the game.
That book's really nicely put together.
Yeah, it's nice.
Nice.
What kind of stock is that?
Let me say.
Oh, wow, it's thick too.
There's a...
Oh, Jesus Christ.
You went all out on the printing.
And I got this recently
at my little trip to Millie Walk A,
which means the good land.
Like a hundred and thirty-pound...
Uncoded cover.
Miniatures game convention I was at.
One second place in my tournament.
Nice.
The entire book, like typically,
you get a book like this and the inside pages are like textwayed.
They're lighter.
Yeah, yeah, but this is all hard.
This is all hard.
And, oh, it's, I'm surprised the staple must have had a kink when it saw this and was just like, I guess I can go through that.
Yeah.
Because if I had a battle to get through this paper.
And what is the, does the cassette tape just like float around in there?
Yeah, it just floats around.
It just floats around.
But we got a little sticker in Rust We Trust, which is, like, like,
I guess kind of label that put this out.
Oh, Jesus Christ, it's an expression.
So Forbidden Psalm is a tabletop miniatures game released in 2021,
inspired by the role-playing game, Morkborg,
which I don't know if that's the real way to say it.
I've heard you mention that word before.
Yeah, yeah.
So I've played some tapes that were, like,
compatible with Mork-Borg as far as they had little adventures.
But Morkborg is like a role-playing game.
Forbidden Somme is a miniatures, like, war game set,
kind of in that world with kind of those,
uh,
those rules.
But you can listen to this without playing.
You can listen to this without playing.
It'll still work.
It'll still work.
But if you want to play,
Jamie,
it'll still work.
We got three session little mini campaign.
War band creation rules,
um,
all kinds of stuff.
Very fun.
I'm always impressed.
You go away to these.
There's three factions,
the heretics,
saviors,
radicals,
and scenario one.
You know,
what's fun about Joe B? You are all called to this place. Jamie?
That's scary music in the background.
Hello? Hello? Hello. You are all called to this place. You can feel it in your bones.
There is a presence to this land that you cannot escape. The energies of the anomalies warp the
inhabitants of this land. Creatures disordered by something otherworldly. The anomalies themselves
feel important to investigate and not let fall into the wrong.
Search the anomalies for the energy remnants and secure them and destroy them as you see fit.
Models must pass a TC12 presence test while in base contact with an anomaly.
Any model that fails a test must roll a techno-babel chart.
Game ends at the end of the fifth round.
So yeah, so this is like a little noisy soundtrack to this three-part campaign.
I like how Joby goes off to these little corners of the world for his little tattoo conventions.
and his pretty little game cons.
And he always returns with cassette tapes.
Always.
And I never, it's like little treasures.
I never, they were keeping secret from me
in these special places.
I seek it out.
There's always one person.
You see him right away?
Look at this motherfucker.
There's always one person with a cassette tape.
That's awesome.
So is there like a, who's the artist or whatever?
I have no idea.
We don't know.
We just know the name of the game.
and we know the name of this,
the label, and that's pretty much it.
That's it.
Okay, cool.
Murs, bow.
Jamie, what are you playing?
Okay, I got this tape.
It's been burning a hole in my pocket.
I've been keeping in my pocket everywhere I go.
What?
Really want to play it on the show.
Why have you been walking around with it?
Because he's just like, maybe we're going to do the show or not.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, you never know when you're going to do an episode of Tabs Up.
No, he's doing one of these.
He's going to the bar and he's saying,
like, oh, I know what you're going to say.
Is that a, whatever this rare tape is in my pocket?
Are you just like...
Happy to see me.
I didn't want to say that part, but yeah, he's been doing that.
So what is it, Jamie?
Just let us all...
This is some real juggalo shit.
Oh, right.
Did you tell me about this?
Phagophiliac.
Fagophiliac.
What is a fagophiliac?
This is a new genre I was unaware of called gore trap.
Gore trap.
It's like gore grind or gore noise or...
Gore metal, but it's gore trap.
Gore trap.
Real juggalo shit.
Yeah, it's got the, like, the snare drum that sounds like the big metal pipe.
Oh, what?
Like Larses on...
Yeah, St. Anger.
On St. Anger.
I got to say, for something, if you described this to me,
all the shit that we just said,
you would think that it would look awful.
But the presentation...
Good production value here.
Look at the presentation. You could show that to mom.
Oh, it's called real juggalo shit.
You guys did such a good job, Billy.
You and your friend Danny did a...
such a good job on that team.
Oh, and he's got a hatchet man on the spine.
Now, this is real jugglero shit.
I bought this on BandCap and the Band Camp
has been taken down and I'm not sure why.
Oh, what? But they had some other releases
called, uh, oh,
the gigantic shafts of Girt Brooks and Peen Simmons,
nine inch males.
A 2025 demo sloshy anal gap.
So I don't know if they got taken down from VanCamp
because it was too vulgar
or if it was like AI generated,
stuff. This could be AI generated
music for all I know.
This is a long one too. How can you tell?
Yeah. This is a long tape. If you want to hear it
digitally, it's on Amazon music. You could probably
hear it on Alexa. As a matter
fact, everybody's quite...
Alexa, play real juggalo shit
by fagophiliac. Don't do that.
If anybody's real juggalo shit. It's a little
Alexa prank. Don't do that. Oh, that's an
Alexa prank. My family's having dinner. I let
you over here to record this episode at dinner time
and now my family has to listen to
real juggalo shit.
Wow, I'm very excited about this, Jamie.
This is a good one.
There's a note.
All right, Michael.
I don't know if I can follow these up.
This is like some, you know, a little one I'm saying.
Yeah, I can.
You said you had some heaters.
I do have some heaters.
I'm going to start off with one on no rent records by Matt Franco.
You remember that name and all?
I'm familiar with James' work and Dave's work.
the lesser known mat was in air conditioning oh okay american band yes i remember that name that noise
scene now take yourself back to that noise in yes this is the jeff the pigeon exactly allentown
noise fucked up guttural raw shit warehouse baby in a car real junk of shit i don't know
i think that may just been a bunch of blankets in a car seat no i saw the baby but let me
give you a little primer on 201.
Hey man, the noise scene can get fucked up.
So this tape is called
the bitter album. It's
all black and white artwork.
The story with this is
that in like 2014
Matt Franco
made, I want to say, nine copies
of this. Handed them out.
And then he disappeared from
the scene.
Give me some reverb, Jamie.
Give me some reverb.
Like a gold.
he was gone.
Right?
Yeah.
And you know where he went?
Where?
He went to the mines, the coal mines.
No, he didn't.
No, he didn't.
No, I'm sorry.
He didn't go to the coal mines.
He went to the rock quarries.
Oh.
And he started competing in, like,
competitive stone lifting.
Are you, for real?
Wow.
For real.
That's very interesting.
And I saw a picture of him.
He could kick the shit out of me.
Who was he in air conditioning?
The little guy.
The little guy.
Okay.
Sometimes those little guys can dead like
Center gravity, yeah
And like he must be getting protein
He must be doing your lizard gumbo
Creatine
Creatine, he must be doing
All kinds of like multi-mushrum shakes
He must be doing like
Good for your brain
Like a good like creatine's main
Corticeps
A THC souffle
He's doing like
No he's just carrying stones
I think
And he's getting competitive
Stonelift
I don't know if it's competitive
It might be for
work. Oh, I might you said it was competitive. I think
it's good. Why else would you lift these stones?
They're huge. They're huge. They weigh a lot. So you're either,
there's only two reasons why you would, there's three reasons why you'd lift a stone.
One to,
because somebody, like a millionaire in a suit with like a top hat and a cigar is paying you
to move the stone off his property.
One reason.
competitive to like
because it's like
oh who can lift this
fucking stone up
the longest or something
or the furthest
and then the last one I think would be
like to impress somebody
like impress a lady
yeah yeah always yeah that should be number one really
look how big of a rock I can pick up
I was on an airline the other day
and I was just like this actually
and even if it's not that big
it's like look who's no rent
no rent is Jason
Krummer who was also an American band
Right, right, right.
Philadelphia, and
He was from, like, Richmond back in the day, right?
You know, I don't know where
I haven't done his 23 and me yet.
Couldn't you have that project
now in darkness, World Stop Turning?
Yes.
Black Sabbath.
What, facade burn black, was he in that band?
But this isn't about him.
This is about Matt Frank from the Bitter album.
He made this tape.
He handed it about. Listen to when you're miserable.
Listen to when you're miserable.
I'm not.
I'm miserable.
Yeah, I don't recommend that.
But he, it's a C-36.
This is like a proper release of it that just came out.
Okay.
No Rent made 100 copies.
It's No Rent number 216.
Listen to it when you're miserable or not, or whatever.
Just listen to it.
Don't tell me what to do.
Don't tell me what to do.
You want to see a picture of this, dude?
Yeah.
I'm trying to find out the other person that does No Rent.
I know, Mike, I think you interviewed them on a laser focus a long time ago.
Yeah.
Yeah, figure that out.
Look at this guy.
Oh.
Jack like shit right look how big that rock is huh
That rocks yeah well how big would you say that rock is
I don't know how much is it or how big is it because like what would you compare to Jamie if you want to
Mike on a mass and mass and no what would you compare
No what object would you in size would you compare this rock to man hmm
Look how big it is I wouldn't even bother lifting it 10 basketball a beanbag chair 10 bad what kind of weird fucking 10
never mind uh Jason Krumer and rose actor angle there you know
From Philly, right?
Philly.
Philly.
And then I'm also going to play the SkyNet.
This is a quick one.
It's split with Outer Daphnees, who we played before, on a label called Bummer Punk.
Bumber Punk.
And I feel like this is like live stuff from each one, but it's like four minutes.
Four minutes and 20 seconds, actually, the Skynet functions.
There you go.
There's no weed every day.
I can't wake up.
and someone help me the cover of this tape reminds me of like an album like something from the 90s
like a grunge CD or something what am I thinking of I'm not sure it's driving me mad
let me see I know my grunge angry about it but what am I thinking of it's got like a mud hunt
no um me puppets I don't know what am I James setting it up at arms line yeah I don't know
I want to say like sponge.
I don't know.
Someone figure that out.
There's one copy of this left on the bummer punk band camp.
Skynet is not heaven world.
I don't know what that means, but it says it.
So stick by that.
This was recorded live at WQ2, East Bluff Peoria.
All right, so I'm going to play those two.
Rounded at that block.
Let's do it.
Crazy taxi.
This is a certified hood classic.
Ugly.
This is Gortland.
Oh, shit, I'm about to cut.
Listen to me.
Sacks, bitch.
What?
What?
What?
What?
The fat, kill and call me
good chat.
The guilt right strikes
This scales threat is right.
Too scary,
pitch and breaks right.
It's defeats now
will the thunder to the house.
She can be building now, a girl can't know I'm from the top.
Come back a dog.
Let me see you, dog.
Let me see you, fuck a job.
Let me see you, fuck a job.
Let me see you, fuck a job.
Let me see you duck.
Let me see you dog.
Let me see you dog.
Let me see dumb.
Looks like my go.
I'm in your nightmares.
You can't run or hide-ho.
Call me ready to give the edge until I fuck the dog.
fucking dumb, fuck your ass, you can buddy my gun.
I have much for you,
that's a fucking die.
Outside,
suicide, see you're on the side.
See you're on the opposite side.
If you see that I have a bunch of you
like the fucking die.
Where I leave?
Get a lead.
When I'm free,
I don't see it very clean.
Where I leave?
Where I would see it?
There is me.
Up inside.
If you do that I have a bunch of
she was a fucking guy.
Besides,
We're talking about episode
I have
Archiegeal
I have our children
She's like
This is dumb
This is dumb
Tabs out episode 216
Joby
You said while we were playing
That one tape
Which I have some
Exclusive information on
By the way
Yes
Some more information
I think than we have
Yes
You say you're supposed
We're playing this game
And your games
Have miniatures
Yeah it's a miniature game
That tape sounds
So wouldn't you
Wouldn't the miniature
Just like blow away
my miniatures would just blow away
I was really soft
I didn't want to say this
and I should just say it off air
but I will say that
I did hear
Jamie's wife refer to
bedroom stuff as playing with the miniatures
I did hear that
all right well that was actually
I believe heaven that bends above
is the name of the artist
destruction of an angel
in Rustwee Trust is the Labor
And then
Fagophalliac, is that what
was it?
Fagophiliac.
Fagophiliac.
Real jugglo's shit
on you don't listen to everything.
Then Matt Franco, the bitter
album on No Rent.
I think he's back making music again.
Oh, good.
I don't know if it's like noise again
or if it's like the stuff on this tape,
the bitter tape.
The bitter tape.
And then Skynet split with Outer Daphnees
on bummer punk.
All right, let's do that.
That order of us worked really well.
Oh, good.
I feel like when you,
you have something, you go with it, we can make it into the playoffs.
Well, this tape I'm going to try to play, but this is the one I told you.
It might not work.
Why?
Because Larry gave it to me, and he says it doesn't work on either of his tape players.
He got schmutz on it.
So he said, try it on yours.
And he texted me yesterday.
He said, did that tape work?
And I said, now I'm going to play it on the show.
And he said, well, make sure it works first.
Or that might be embarrassing.
I said, but that's part of the bit.
I have a few questions before it spread some kind of virus to my deck here.
My first question is, what do you mean it didn't work?
I don't know.
Like you press play and it didn't play right away and you're like, oh, give up.
It was just on the wrong side and it just kept stopping.
Yeah, I'm...
Well, sometimes they're stubborn and you got to get in there with like your fanger and just twirl a little bit.
Yeah, I'm not sure.
Or did it play for a little bit then?
Stop.
Maybe.
Because it does look like it played a little bit.
Well, here's my next question.
Did you try to like fast forward and rewind it a couple times?
No, it has nothing to do.
Get the gears going.
It has nothing to do with him.
My next question.
is, is it a very long tape?
No.
Medium?
Okay.
Because long tapes can be fucking up.
Yeah, because they're heavy.
All right, this is Pan American Native Front.
Tecumse's...
How do you say that word?
Is that how you say that word?
Decomsa?
Decomsa?
I'm just saying the same way.
T-E-C-U-M-S-E-H.
I'll go with it.
Yeah.
War.
Decomsa's War.
2025 on Stygian.
black hand.
I'm so excited now.
What is this that we have?
This is black metal.
Obviously.
Yes.
Very dark, very scary.
Almost too scary, but I'll be brave.
Now, do we want to put in right now and see if it even plays?
Like, we can, well, while we're here, while we're talking.
Yeah.
We battle through.
I got the few goblins in between me and the tape deck.
I got to get through.
Hold on.
Let me push them aside.
That was them getting me.
I'm in.
All right, I'm pressing play now.
Whoa!
Oh!
This is playing just...
Wait, what is it?
Is it supposed to be sound?
Yes, I think it's supposed to sound like this.
I think it's playing fine.
It's supposed to sound like this?
Okay, it sounds like what we had there was user error.
Yes.
Did you stop?
Wait, it just...
Did it stop?
Or did you turn it down?
It stopped.
It stopped.
Huh.
So I think there is something going on.
I'm going to press play again and see what happens.
Let's play again and see what happens.
Let's play again.
Now is it supposed to sound like that?
Yes.
That part's supposed to sound like that.
Yes.
Jamie, can you run that through chat, GPT?
Real quick.
Jamie, please.
So, Pan American, Native American with a K, too.
Wait, is a one person, one man, meso-American black metal band?
I think, is it slowing down?
Or is that a Jamie step with me here?
And the guy's name who does this is Curator of War.
So do we want to, should I stop it?
And we'll actually play it?
Yes.
Stop it.
I think it just had to get the little, you know.
This is why we do the podcast.
Now, should you rewind it?
Larry, I think somebody, I think he might need to get that remastered.
Remastered.
It sounds like you just, yes.
If he had a Nakamichi, probably no problem.
7.1 Atmos surround.
Sounds pretty nice.
Okay, so you're going to play that?
I'm going to play that as long as it works.
I hope it works.
I hope it works.
If it doesn't, we'll just put up that little, as much as we record.
Okay, that works.
Yeah, I'm all for that.
All right, Jamie, do you have any tapes that you know will work?
I do.
This is an artist called Collapsing that we heard at last Final Friday.
This guy came down from Virginia, or came up from Virginia,
with another artist called Oversimulated, and then Ian Franklin, our good friend.
I think it all depends on which route you take.
I think you can get here from Virginia by going down.
I do.
Oh, okay.
I think you can.
There's a beltway that goes east and west, so I don't have to get it.
Oh, left and right.
We recorded a bonus episode right before this.
Uh-huh.
You can listen to it.
Today?
Yeah.
Oh, we did.
And we were asked about conspiracy theories.
Yeah.
I think you can get to Delaware from Virginia by going down.
I think there's a-
conspiracy theory.
But they don't want you to know because.
They don't want you didn't know.
Because the Beltway tolls.
Oh, because the tolls.
The toll trolls.
All right.
It's all money.
Go ahead.
Follow the money.
So this guy was called collapsing, his artist's name.
And he did a noise set, but it was a lot of spoken word, but very unhinged vocal effect.
Zundheit, speaking of which.
Did you see the set, Joe?
No.
that one, yeah.
So if I could do him,
he was like,
ah,
he was like,
so it was one of those.
It was a lot of that,
it was a lot of that
mixed with,
like,
if anyone remembers,
uh,
Brian Lewis Saunders,
oh yeah,
yeah, yeah.
So like,
torture guy.
Words were spoken as well.
Yeah.
Am I correct?
Yeah,
he even had a music stand
with,
with,
with,
with,
with,
with,
with,
with,
with,
the vocals were so affected
that you couldn't
understand a single,
plus in a bike shop
that's all,
um,
reverber.
in there, so.
I think the bikes add to, I think a lot,
I mean, I think it was, who were some of the famous
producers that hung bikes
in the studios? PetSounds was recorded
with bikes hanging from the ceiling of me.
You're just showing your ignorance towards all this.
I have shown ignorance. No, it was a good set.
I really enjoyed it. Yeah, I liked that whole
show, but yeah, collapsing was really cool.
And then he was aware of
the podcast. I was like, hey, you know,
I do a cassette podcast called Tabs Out.
And then he's like, oh, you do Tabs Out?
Said, yes, just me.
It's my...
So he gave me
this complimentary tape
that's called Mere Specimens
and it's on a label called
317
Noise shit.
Noise shit.
Noise shit.
Noise shit.
We're never going to get...
No one's going to take us seriously, everybody.
I keep telling everybody
use some nicer names.
No one's going to take us seriously.
So 317 noise shit based on their
Instagram. Indiana-based record label
specializing in noise, grindcore, experimental shit, punk, hardcore, metal, etc.
DM to sign up for my mailing list.
And who is this?
This is a...
Oh, this is collapsing.
This is collapsing.
This is Paul.
Sorry, I fucking zoned out for a little bit.
Who is this?
I glazed over.
We came back.
That was, hold on.
What do we come back?
And we're back.
That was head of Matt Franco, the bitter album.
Shut up.
For five, five.
seconds and let me talk.
Jamie, did you even look at these nubs?
Because these are a type of nub I've never fucking seen before.
I did look at the nubs, but can you remind?
Yes, these are, what, hexagonal?
Have we seen these before?
I don't think so.
There's a lot of spokes.
How dare you speak to be that way?
Sorry, I got really excited.
Look at the nubs.
Whoa, whoa.
A lot of spokes, a lot of angles.
I feel like you use.
I don't like that they're not lined up right, though.
This is like a key from like a Star Wars movie where they need to get this and put it like into something.
That is a cool nub.
That is a really cool nub.
I want to docks this guy, but the only thing, I can get a last initial.
Paul K.
Paul K.
Yeah, we don't know the full name.
Paul K.
Send us a message where you got these Norelcos because, who, that nub.
Yeah.
It's hot to trot.
How do you, can you even request?
We got to get, request nubs.
We got to get duplication.
dot CA or National Audio
Company or somebody on the horn
somebody's got to let us know
we got to get to the bottom of these nubs
of like why are they always so many
different kinds? Why are there so many?
I'm starting to get mad. I like
variety. It's the spice of life
and I like things spicy.
But we're getting to the point where it's just
too many nubs. Too many nubs.
That is a nub. Oh,
Jesus. Sorry.
Jim did you find out that
you found out of the nubs yet?
Oh, no, I'm trying to find the last name.
Did you find out about the nubs yet?
You had one job.
But see how they're not lined up right?
This one's tilted a little bit more than this one.
You would think they get the mold right for that, but.
Oh, like the left and the right nubs are misaligned?
Yeah, look.
Look.
Wow.
Yeah, by a lot, too.
By a lot, by like a...
I don't even need to take out any of my tools to tell you that they're off.
15 to 20 degrees.
Yeah, you need to...
a good quality control down there.
And the Norelco
there's a lot to dissect with this Norelco actually.
Go off, King, mate.
Go just cook.
This little like
indent right here,
usually it's the back,
what is this called?
What would you call
the back part of the back panel?
Where it has like...
The lower J.
The lower J,
the load bearing panel
is usually just one whole section,
but see how it's got that little cutout?
oh wow
and now close it though
is that for
see see it links
oh it's like a little puzzle piece
yeah it's like a little puzzle piece
why why did they
yeah
this shit don't make no sense
why they got so many of these
oh it's insane
I am glad that we found that though
because it's bringing some new life
into the podcast
we talk about the nubs now
I think we can get another year out of that shit
Oh, I'll always talk about Nubbendium Volume 2
Yeah
Nubs are endless obviously
All right, what are you gonna play?
All right, I'm gonna play two more
The first one
I don't know if I'm supposed to keep the
The project
Like the
If it's secret
Who does secret? Secret. Secret.
Jamie
Shhh
This might be secret
Okay
And I don't know if it's Dorieth
Is the name of the
project, which is a, I was saying to you, Joby earlier.
You asked me if I know the reference. Do you know the reference? Because I thought you would
know the reference. Oh, I don't. It is... I guess Lord of the Rings. And you'd be right
if you guessed Lord of the Rings. I'm wrong. I'm wrong. If not Lord of Rings. I'm wrong. I
biffed that one. I biffed that one. This is Dorieth. It's called Prolog of Moon and Void
on a label called Yulululululovian. And that...
is a Lord of the Rings thing.
Oh.
Do we know?
The label is the name for the man in the moon character that exists within the folk tales of the Shire Hobbits.
Oh, interesting.
Okay.
And some other things I can't pronounce, but like some other stuff.
Do you know the man on the moon character?
No, I don't.
I'm not a well, I'm more of an elf guy.
So this is a deep cut Tolkien chair.
Super deep cut.
Good.
But Dorothe was the hidden mighty first age far.
kingdom of the Sindar elves in Belorian.
And you just said that your eyes glazed over and you just said all that.
Ruled by King Elu Thingal and Melian the Maya.
W.T.F.
Protected by the magical girdle of Melian.
It was the greatest Sindharian realm, central to the stories of Baran, Luthian, and Turin Trumbar.
This is a pro-duplicated C-34 on frosted shells.
So it's double Lord of the Rings reference.
Double?
Dorieth is the artist on this label.
Now, is this label?
But is Dorieth a Lord of the Rings reference?
I just fucking said it.
Did you not listen to anything I said?
Dorian was the hidden mighty first age forest kingdom of Sindar elves in Belorriand.
So this is the double, yeah.
So this whole thing is starting off.
And I don't know if I'm allowed to say, I guess I am.
Now, the artist is this their label?
I think so.
Oh, there we go.
It's all Lord of the Rings.
I think it's all Lord of the Rings.
They just got this
Silamilarian
All the deep cuts
Over the summer
Over COVID they got real
Into Lord of the Rings
And they reinvented their entire shit
That's cool
Track 5
I thought this was interesting
Was made with a
The program music mouse
By Laurie Spiegel
Anyone familiar with music mouse?
I know the name
Lori Spiegel
Yeah
It's 1986
Intelligent Instrument
Oh, interesting.
Super cool.
Yeah.
For the Macintosh, Amiga, and Atari computers.
Now, do you think they're actually running that program on one of those things or an emulator?
Oh, it probably...
Jamie.
I don't want to know.
Jamie, you have to just say right now, and hopefully they'll listen, they'll hear this and they'll respond.
Emulator.
Emulator on their...
On their iPad, right?
It gets even worse.
So, yeah, I'm going to play a track from that.
And then, I believe, Jake Acosta.
I got a new Jake Acosta.
We love Jake Acosta.
Residum OK on Lake Paradise.
Speaking of long tapes, this is a long one.
It's the C-62.
That's like one of the longest ones you can get before you start to go mad.
Did you know that?
She-Six is not back.
30 minutes aside.
That's pretty good.
That's what I'm saying.
It's the longest cassette tape you can get before you.
one goes mad from length madness there's a certain mania you'll get from a c 92 oh that's bad for your motor too
it's bad it's bad it's bad well mike said with the longer tapes it really puts a lot of stress because of the weight
and i'm only saying that it doesn't really i'm just saying that's to ever so everyone avoids it
so they don't succumb to the length mania of a c92 this is c62 on on a label called lake paradise
and it's just a bunch of shit.
It's like a whole, like, you know when you go to a flea market?
Yeah.
And there's that table out there.
Yeah.
Not, I didn't want to say flea market.
I didn't want to give the impression of produce.
Oh, right, right.
I meant like the Newcastle Farmer's Market the outside, which is a flea market.
I'm sorry.
I just didn't want people to think like they were going to be lattice.
I was given a local reference.
Yeah, not lattice.
The people with just stuff on their table.
Name like eight things on the table.
There's old tools.
A drill.
Yeah.
Yeah.
A chisel.
A random box of keys.
A gardening, a little hand gardening tool.
Yeah.
You can say how, Jamie.
You can stay out.
I'm not politically correct.
Yeah, so that's what this tape is.
This tape is all.
It's always correct.
Yeah.
Because Jake Acosta doesn't fuck around.
He's all over the place.
And this is a nice, good collection, loose keys, a drill.
an old
dirty
that's a good
loaner album
loose keys
right that down
dirty dancing on VHS
dirty dancing on VHS
Grease
double OPP
no records inside
just the cover
it's $15
right
somebody's gonna pay for
it covers pristine though
there's a stack of jeans
I'll look through
oh yeah there's some jeans
there's a sex jeans
car hearts
and why you're looking through
them is all those jeans are new
all right
I don't want to
talk.
But yeah, this came out, I think in late 2025,
Lake Paradise number 24.
So, yeah, those are going to be my two.
As any, anyone have.
I have no protests with that.
No process.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm perfectly fine with that.
We shall proceed.
Which worked just fine for us.
Work fine.
I guess, uh, I guess some guys are built different.
And then that collapsing tape.
I hope that it just stopped right away.
this tape doesn't work.
Yeah.
Like you just gave up.
You're never going to get anywhere in life
with that kind of attitude.
Dorieth and
Jake Acosta rounding off that one.
And then it brings us
to this final block.
Dubid dupe blump blump.
This is the one I've been waiting for.
Jamie, you all...
You know what? I feel kind of stupid right now.
Why?
Because all tapes on the lower J
have that little thing.
Do they really?
Yeah.
Yeah, I knew that too.
I was just trying to make you feel early.
I never know.
noticed that before. Yeah, they all have it. They all have it.
Or you know, maybe it's
like a thing where they didn't before, but now
they do. This black one doesn't.
There we go. No, yes, it does. Fuck.
So close. That one was so close. Joe just broke the tape. No, it was already
broke when I got it. You got to admit that one was
close to not having it. It was close
because, yeah. The nubs were still
cool on the other one. Oh, yeah.
Nothing's going to take that away from you, big boy.
Don't worry about it. We love you
and we cherish you.
Jamie, you often have a
Um, did you have a theme tonight?
I have a theme and I'm rounding it out because I said I have a surprise tape.
Do you need to end the episode?
You often need to close it out.
No, I don't, this isn't a closer.
I think he gets off on it.
No, no, no, no.
I think it's a sexual thing.
No, that's, uh, Cindy Crawford's mole.
Okay.
Oh, was that a, is that a callback from a different episode?
Yes, it is.
He's really thinking about it, though, isn't it?
Can't get out of us hot.
Yeah.
What was it?
Coke ad or was a Pepsi?
It was Coke, right?
I was a Kathy Ireland man, so I don't know.
Oh, yeah.
yeah.
All right, Jamie, go.
All right, right, right.
So I thought we were doing the same order before.
All right, Jamie, go.
Oh.
Yeah, Joe goes first.
Oh, we could because it works.
It works.
This order is a proven order, scientifically.
Scientifically, it's been proven to work.
All right, I'm going to play another tape that Larry gave me.
Maybe this one doesn't work.
Larry's just giving me stuff, left and right.
Why do you give you the last one?
Because he thought he didn't work.
I don't know why you gave me this one, honestly.
This is...
On...
Are you now playing that other one?
What other one?
That came in that cool case?
The first one I played?
This one.
Oh, yeah, no, I'll play that one.
I'll save this.
I forgot I brought that tape.
I'll bleep it out that one.
I'll play this new Reapers Gong tape.
There you go, that's our word.
Euphoric purification.
How do I know that name Reapers Gong?
They just played that, Loaner just played with him at the bike project.
Oh, and who's Loner?
Loner's me and Dave from Tabs out.
Loader.com, check it out.
The guitar player in this band was in that band full of hell.
Oh, that's right.
Yeah, that's how I know him.
Well, I noticed that somebody else in this band was also in full hell at one point,
and now they're not anymore.
So what happened there?
In Reaper's Gong?
Yeah.
He's not in Full Hell anymore.
Spencer?
I don't know.
I think there's pretty much...
What happened?
They said, listen, Mike, you can't be in full of hell.
Letchy in Ruper's gone.
I don't know.
I think there's an article on some metal magazine that was all about him getting kicked.
I think he were kicked out.
I'm not sure.
Oh, did you really?
So what's he doing with this guy
and Reaper's gong?
What do you call this type of case?
Ooh, that was loud.
Oh, that was loud.
What do you call that type of case?
Because it's kind of like
a VHS case that has been shrunken.
That's small, yeah.
It's still the same width.
It's been shrunken, but not like an incredible amount.
It's not like a honey I shrunk the kids kind of.
Yeah.
It's not like an aunt would use it as a cassette tape.
I can't tell what label this is on
because I can't read it.
very small.
Damian records.
Damian records.
Like Satan.
Like Satan.
Damian?
He was just a rambunctious,
uh,
little kid.
Who, Damian?
Yeah.
That's a Seinfeld thing.
So a Reaper,
is a Reaper known for having a gong?
I didn't think so,
but...
I thought the Reaper would like sneak up
behind you, right?
Yeah, yeah.
It sneaks up.
It's counterintuitive.
A gong is...
To the Reaper's whole shit.
Am I wrong about that?
You're not wrong.
That if you're a reaper,
you don't want to have to be
dragging a,
gong behind you.
This is Damien Records 94.
Is that right?
So a lot of releases on Damien Records.
Look up Damian Records.
I'll look it up in a minute.
Who were you even asking to in that?
One of you guys with computers.
I'm too bad.
I'm cooking right here.
Making some ambience.
Anyway, I picked this up at the show.
Damien Records.
And I just played, Loener.
Looner.com.
I'm on their bank camp right now.
What do you want to know, Joe?
What do they got out?
What other stuff was Damien Records up?
They got something here was my picking at their eyeball.
What's it called?
immortal it's called
Gertie
Adalio
immortality between
paranoia and virus
but they're like
have long fingernails
and they're pulling at their eyes
Go to another one go to another one
Is everything like the pit now
Like what is this?
What have we become?
Getting stabbed
concrete future
What do you want me to do?
What are you looking for?
Are the releases
that they have on their goddamn label?
Which one?
I just want you to read me a couple
I don't want you to click on everyone
Late shift, perception is reality.
Where's this label from?
Stunner, wage cage.
Is this what you want for me?
Yes, where's this label from?
Eyes of a dreamer.
Where are they from?
Where are they from?
It's usually in the upper right-hand corner on band camp.
With upper right-hand corner, it's like my profile.
Not that far.
You don't have vertical tabs on.
There's an X when you click it.
That's a callback from the bonus episode, too.
They're from Minnesota.
Minnesota.
Damien Records from Minnesota.
Yeah, it says that
Now you made me lose where I was on?
Now you made me lose where I was with the Reaper's Gong.
Well, anyway, I'm playing Reaper's Gong, Jamie.
Who's Reaper's Gong?
Full of Hell broke up.
Spencer from Full of Hell is in this band.
Minnesota.
No, they can't be from Minnesota.
No, Reapers Gong, I think, are from like,
they're kind of local.
Well, where's Full of Hell from?
Kind of local.
Really?
Is it like Maryland?
It's probably Maryland.
Maryland.
Maryland.
We're down.
Because they're from the down,
the down part of Maryland.
Like Ocean City.
Reaper's Gong formed in 2021.
Reaper's Gong is a four-piece noise rock band
from Ocean City.
Ocean City.
I guess the four pieces
are these schmucks right here
on the page.
Yeah.
All right, fine.
Moving on.
It's a cool.
I like the packaging a lot.
It's really cool.
All right.
You ready for my theme?
Yeah.
All right.
My first tape that I played was
real juggalo shit.
Mm-hmm.
Second tape was on
317 noise shit
shit
Oh
Oh
And shit with Jamie
The third tape I'm playing
Is an artist
Called
Jamie
Shit
Check it out
Grab that mic
And I hate to say it
It was so obvious
And so simple
Why is it so hot
Is this one bit in your pocket too
You got carried around with me
Why are you carrying all these shit tapes around with you
Jovie, you are going to absolutely hate this.
This is another dance hall, Neil, John, from 2015.
We played dance all Neil last episode, artist named Table.
But this is a project he did called Shit.
Is this just a pencil drawing or is this a copy of it?
I think he hand-draws each one.
Yeah, and that's like a little portrait of him, right?
Yep, with the holes in his face.
And then it says...
Body modifications.
Records at the bar.
And, yeah, it just is a Sharpie.
It just says shit with some parentheses.
Oh, my God.
What the fuck is that?
Shamy.
You know, it's funny.
It's like, I got to stop doing these themes.
I've never seen this kind of nub either, maybe.
Oh, my God, here we go.
It's a Y.
Look at it.
Who the hell is that?
Look at it.
Are you want me to look at it?
Yeah, look at the nub.
Okay, I was going to.
going to say like, no, there's been a ton of wise.
We've seen those. No, but this is a perfect why.
Yeah, because it's tight, it's a tight.
It's not, it's not a, it's not, the angle's not all the same.
Yeah, and the, like, I don't know what you call it.
Oh, I see.
The right flank.
What do you call? It's like a crow's foot.
What do you call?
Yes. Yes. This is a crow's foot, but not with as many talons as a crow would have.
If we do that calendar, we have to remember some of these tapes so we can take
picture of these nubs.
Me and me and Joe B were going to do a nub calendar.
We are going to do a nub calendar.
We just, the fiscal year got, uh, uh, uh,
ahead of us. We got to start earlier this year.
Oh, man. We got to get a photographer.
Do you have any more information you want to tell me?
Yeah, so, yeah, Dance Hall Neal dude from Dover, if you didn't listen to last episode with Table.
So this rounds up your whole shit thing.
I'm never playing another dance home meal tape again.
Too scary.
And I'm not, and I'm going to take a break from the themes because there was a tape I really wanted to play.
But then I was like, I've got to do shit now.
I got to play this stupid tape from 2015 instead of playing cutting edge new music.
Oh, next next episode.
That's your theme from now on.
Cutting edge new music.
There you go.
Good music only.
All right, so I'll lend the episode out.
I'll just play one this time.
The tape I'm going to play is by Mouth.
Mouth.
But notice how I said it.
Did anyone notice specifically how I said it?
M-O-U-F?
No.
M-A-W-T-H?
M-A-W-T-H?
No, we're getting there.
M-A-W-T-H.
No, thank you, Jamie.
M-N-O-U-T-H.
What was that?
M-N.
No, what did you say?
What did you say?
M-N-O-U-T-H.
What's the second letter you're saying?
N.
M-N-M-O-U-T-H.
The answer is M-M-O-U-T-H.
N-M.
It's M-F with an extra M.
The name of the tape is M-W with an extra M number one
on Lagom audio slash visual.
This is a tape.
Explorers, now I'm going to hand you.
The artwork's incredible.
I don't want to hand it to Jamie
because I don't think he's ready for it.
Oh, this one. Yeah, I was looking at this one earlier.
The artwork's incredible.
It's incredible.
I don't know if Jamie is mature enough
to look at the female form.
Oh, I am.
You're not.
But yeah, how is it on?
It's like on the case.
Like the image.
The image is printed on the Norelco full color.
it says something on the
the bank camp about a gel pen
plotted L card transparency
but there's no transparency in there right
yeah there is that's the
there is the L card
oh my god my fuck I feel like such a
I thought that was on the actual
that's what I said this is interesting packaging
don't show him
kind of knows we got
I've seen these no wait no wait
even with the neurotic
no wait give it to me
this don't do anything
even with that transparency out
is there still printing on the case
yes the cover of the case
is printed full color the naked lady.
Yeah, but how?
I don't know how.
I don't understand how this works.
Lasers.
Full color UV printed cover.
What?
Ultraviolet?
What is going on?
I don't know how they got it on there,
but it's very interesting and very unique.
And then this cool little L card
instead of a J card.
Wait.
How are you?
My fingers just can't get this shit out of there.
Because I swear to God,
I had my hands in that case.
And I was like, nope, nothing in there.
I came out with nothing.
No, it's right here.
You make it look so easy.
I'm looking at the bank camp going,
what the fuck do they mean by an L-card transparency?
My fingers just don't do that.
Comes right out.
But then they spent all their money on,
what's it called gel printing?
What is it?
It's gel pen plotted L-car.
transparency.
Oh, so they put a gel pen on a plotter.
Yeah, that's all it is.
That's all that is.
Pandora's box is open on that one.
But, so they spent all their money on that
and all their money on the front cover
and couldn't do anything on the tape itself.
Well, it's like marvelled, right?
Yeah, but you can just get marvelled tape.
Yeah, yeah.
I will say there are two versions of this.
And I would have liked green.
Well, there's two variants.
It's an addition of 20.
No, if you get green, you wouldn't be able to see the gel plotted L card.
It's an addition of 20, and there are two variants, each with 10.
And I do agree that, like, they went to the extreme with the cover.
Yeah, and I would have liked the cover moved over to the left just a little bit.
They went so far with the cover that I can't even figure out how they did it.
I don't know how it was made.
I don't even know what the process is.
It's UV something
I don't know
That cures it
The ultraviolet
Cures the
But what does that do to you
With them
They're not being anything
On the actual tape
That ruins the whole thing
I hate every week
You're just like I'm out of here
You're like I'm going to
You're like you know what
I'm gonna go
I got work tomorrow
No it's very cool
Mouth
Remember we played the Beatles
Really fast one time
Yeah
I'll never forget that
That's good
But this is like an animian project that focuses on vocals.
Oh, vocals.
Mouth.
Oh, my mouth.
I'm just with...
Exactly, J.B.
Yeah.
You want to do one more of those?
Me me, ma'amomu.
I'm glad we sent him...
Me'emamo mu.
We sent J.B.
To a weekend retreat.
What's that?
That's a vocal warm-up.
That's a vocal warm-up.
Okay, bye.
Bhophaar!
Bhopha!
I don't know.
