went a little uh a little torturing nurse we really need to come up with our with our own uh
theme song themes yeah theme song one of these days let's uh have a challenge to the to the
listeners to come up with a theme song. That's a good idea.
I was under the
assumption we were
going to do it.
No, I like it more
as a contest.
You like it more
as a contest?
So what, Stacey
can win and then
he's got to write
the theme song.
Is this one going
to be rigged too?
All Tabs Out
contests are
officially rigged.
Nice evening.
Nice summer
eve. Crystal clear. Beautiful out. Beautiful nice evening. Nice summer eve.
Crystal clear.
It's beautiful out.
Beautiful skies out.
Solar eclipse tomorrow.
That's lunar eclipse.
Lunar eclipse?
Lunar eclipse.
But we're not going to be able to see it from here.
You have to be in...
From this room?
No, no, from...
You have to be out on the east coast.
I'm understanding you have to be in
Northern California,
Reno,
Albuquerque, New Mexico,
and Western Texas.
Or also China and Japan.
But it's going to be one of those cool ones
where the moon's small, it's not going to cover
the whole sun, and then
it's called the Ring of Fire.
See, Delaware never gets anything.
You know, I've never seen
a meteor shower.
Oh no? That's pretty cool YouTube that
Just check on YouTube you can find Google image of that
So
Tonight's actually
For reasons other than that
A very special night by the way
Because Joe Dave and I have been talking
We've been discussing this at length
And we think it's time for you to play
The first tape tonight.
Oh, shit.
You're ready. You're ready for it.
We butted heads a little bit in the beginning.
I'm not going to tell you who
was against it.
I'm so caught off guard.
I don't know what to do right now.
We did think you might fuck this up
and accidentally play a CD-R
or an LP or something like that.
Alright, well I think
we'll get right into it then.
I'm going to play this JD Emanuel tape
that just came out recently on Sonic Meditations.
It's a live concert from 82.
Check that out.
It's a pretty good jam.
Took a little backup at the plant.
That's a year.
Getting that one out, yeah.
Did you just order this when you ordered?
I ordered, yeah, like a few weeks ago,
a handful of tapes from there.
Nice.
I like this inside.
It's got the purple border around it
and all the information
and the square when you fold out the J card. That's nice.
Yeah, I like the little
dude. The little logo guy.
The little Sonic meditator.
Yeah, it's awesome.
You got this queued up somewhere special for side A or side B?
No, we're going to have to rewind that
all the way. Oh, I knew, Dave.
This is the kind of shit
I knew was going to happen.
I fucking knew it.
You know what? We can edit that in post.
Maybe we don't let you play the first tape.
You're not ready. This looks like
an invitation to a spa or something.
It does.
Is there like a 15% off on there?
I knew you were going to fuck me.
First of all, I think everyone should know that
Joby, you decide to eat dinner now.
I was working.
You got this fucking Indian takeout in front of you now.
Well, I gotta...
You eat on the way here.
I can't eat Indian food on the way here.
You don't have access to a straw.
That's a two-hand operation.
And I drive stick shift.
Oh, you do?
Like a man.
I didn't know you did that.
Before this turns into a conversation about me not knowing how I drive stick shift. Oh, you do? Like a man. I didn't know you did that. Before this turns into a conversation about me not driving stick,
let's play the cutoff of this J.D. Emanuel.
He sells a live tape?
Live tape.
Live tape on Sonic Meditations. © transcript Emily Beynon well Thank you. The Thank you. © transcript Emily Beynon Thank you. © transcript Emily Beynon Thank you. © transcriptF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. All right, that was J.D. Emanuel,
Peaceful Kingdom Concert 1982 on Sonic Meditations.
You can still get this.
It's relatively new.
New coming out, at least.
Solid, solid jam.
Yeah, I might order this.
Might get back on the internets.
Oh, wait, I'm looking at this.
There's a picture on the back here, but I guess it's mirrored.
Oh, of the high socks?
Yeah, the setup.
I was like, look at this fucking intense setup.
Look at those high socks.
It was like he's got, what'd you say?
Those high socks and those short shorts.
What are you talking about?
Look.
You don't see them?
Where am I seeing the high socks?
In the picture.
I don't know. Oh, I see seeing the high sock? In the picture. I don't know.
Oh, I see now.
It's kind of hidden there.
It's kind of cut off.
It's just one leg.
Wow, you really zoned it on that, Dave.
Yeah, I did.
I went right to it.
Yeah, you went right to it.
All this vintage gear all lined up everywhere.
And Dave's like, check out those.
What are they, Hanes?
That was awesome.
Yeah, it was really good.
I don't know who that dude is, but apparently I should.
Yeah, you definitely should.
Like I was telling you during the break.
During the break.
He put out a record called Wizards in the 80s
that was like a private press synthesizer record.
It's awesome.
Nice.
Probably hard to get a copy of that, but you can download it easily.
Right.
Right on.
You want me to go next here?
Yeah, do it up.
All right.
I just picked up this tape the other day by Lord Bird, Golden Cobra.
Who?
Lord Bird, Golden Cobra.
One person?
No, no.
I think it's like three or four dudes.
No, no.
I meant like it's not a split between Lord Bird and Golden Cobra
no it's not a compilation
and now it's listed four bands on it
Lord Bird, Golden Cobra
no it's some dudes from Pittsburgh
some zany
guys
you got like a pile of business cards
I was chewing really loud into the microphone
yeah you got a mouthful of fucking nod man
try to wrap that up before like the or fourth tape, if you don't mind.
There's these little pictures inside of, I guess, the dudes and then some other dudes.
Let me get my greasy mitts on those.
Yeah, pass those around.
Get some fingerprints on those.
And what's the label here?
The label is...
What is it?
Is it... What is this this i can't really read with
it oh lighten up sounds is the name of the uh the label um but yeah it's pretty solid tape
i like the pictures on the inside they're pretty good it's so annoying because like i got like
four copies of this because i got some for likero 2. And then they were downstairs and the kid gets into them.
All of a sudden there's fucking little pieces of paper all over the ground.
It's kind of annoying, but whatever.
I like the topless dude with the gold chain jamming the reverb coil.
Like a guitar, but right where his dick is.
There's something to like in every photo
the cover art is also pretty
are they all the same like the other ones
that you got for the distro
oh yeah yeah yeah it's the same picture
the cover though it's like a black and white
image of
like a jeep with like a giant
I was going to say eagle but
I think that's more like a condor
some sort of giant bird.
It's a very American cover.
I'd imagine that'd be like...
I'd imagine that'd be like...
If that was on a shirt on the back,
it would say like,
if you're not a big dog,
stay on the porch or something like that.
But yeah.
The one dude does that project,
Trogpite, who... i don't know if you've ever
heard that before i heard the name but i don't think i've heard anything yeah i played with
these dudes twice and when i went through pittsburgh and uh i've got rice all over the
floor yeah i'm a little upset about that i gotta say but okay let's i got i'm gonna start this just
on side a and we'll get a little cut out of it but
yeah i think it's a self-title tape by lord bird golden cobra I'm going to go ahead and get out of the car. I don't know. Thank you. The so
so The All right. I don't know. so All right. Oh, my God. uh I'm sorry. Oh All right, little jam off the Lord Bird Golden Cobra tape.
I guess that's the untitled track off of Side A.
Lighting up sounds, label out of, I thought it was on here.
I guess not.
It says Pittsburgh on here, but that's where it was recorded.
Label out of somewhere.
You can find it on the internet.
It just came out not long ago.
All right, David.
David?
David.
David.
David.
Would it be weird if I was like, call me David from now on?
I bet there's...
I hate when people do that.
All of a sudden they're...
They switch it up and say, hey, Rich, I'm Richard now.
Yeah, you can call me Richard.
You can do that. Could you do that? Could you'm Richard now You can call me Richard You can do that
Could you do that
Could you do me a favor
And call me Richard
In 6th grade
I tried to be Joseph
From Joe
You know
It's a weird time
For young boys
6th grade
You never know
Actually not from Joe
From Joey
Oh you were Joey
I was Joey
You know for a long time
I'm really glad
We made the change to Joe I was Davey as a toddler Davey Yeah I was Joey You know for a long time I'm really glad we made the change to Joe
I was Davey as a toddler
Davey?
Yeah I was Davey
Were you ever a toddler?
I was a big toddler
You were right into
Right into five year old clothes
Right off the
Right off the bat
Alright Davey what do you got?
Davey
Yeah I'm gonna place him off of
Davey's Corner.
Dave's Corner.
What's that?
I like the look of that.
Look at this guy here.
I like the look of that case.
Yeah.
That looks like a different lands release.
Indeed.
B. Douglas.
Pink Desert.
Guy.
Part of Pink Desert.
Anyway.
Yeah, I like what he does with the, like he prints out the stickers and wraps them around the case and, like, spray paints the cases.
So, like, what is exposed on, like, the top and the bottom is white.
I don't think that case is actually spray painted.
Oh, is that already white?
I think that's actually, like, just an opaque white case.
Okay.
Because I think he normally spray paints them.
So, like, from the inside.
I think Mike's right on this one.
It's spray painted, Dave.
Because if you look on the inside, you can tell that this is clear plastic.
This isn't white.
Oh, shit.
I think he painted it.
So he spray painted the case and they were absolutely...
Yeah, they always look really fucking nice.
But what is this?
This is a double C-15.
It's Project Gremlins and Future Twin.
I'm going to play something off the Gremlins tape.
It's this dude, William Cody Watson.
He does Pink Priest and Malibu Wands.
Does he have a bunch of projects, that dude, that all have colors in the name?
Does he have one like White Something?
I don't know if he has a White Something.
I know there's Pink Priest, and I think there's White Something.
Does he do a project called White Creeps?
Don't know.
I think there might be another one with another color in it.
I don't know which tape is which here.
Okay, I got one and I got a two.
Yeah, you want one.
It's Gremlin's track.
Cocaine is the devil. With a Y and a Z. Yeah, you want one. You're playing the Gremlins track. Cocaine is the devil.
With a Y and a Z.
Yeah.
Yeah, spell check should have caught that one right away.
All right, right on.
Let's play the track Cocaine is the Devil.
I guess it's the name of the tape,
unless it's like one track that spans both sides.
Couldn't tell you.
Don't know.
Couldn't tell you. Don't know. Couldn't tell you.
Don't have a reference point.
All right, well, here is Gremlins. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I'm going to go ahead and do that. Thank you. All right, that was Gremlins
from the Gremlins Future Twin split
on different lands, 2010. Double C- douglas's label he also that's his um
future twins his project too right oh that was pink desert oh okay like solo jam nice yeah that
stuff's good too i've got it three or four yeah i have a handful but i don't even i've yeah a
bunch of stuff in different lands it's. I haven't looked in a while.
Dave, are you touching my toe?
Don't touch my toe. A lot of my different lands, I've spilled water on a pile of them.
Like water damage.
It actually looks kind of cool.
I haven't spoken to Brian in a long time.
I feel kind of bad about that.
Maybe that's because you didn't go to his wedding because you had to wear jeans.
No, because...
You couldn't wear jeans.
Because you couldn't wear jeans. He specifically asked me not to wear jeans to his wedding because it had to wear jeans. No, because you couldn't wear jeans.
He specifically asked me not to wear jeans to his wedding because it was very fancy, but I don't own any slacks.
And I have
one pair of really nice jeans that I wear
to funerals and weddings.
They're really nice.
It's like a hard down.
They're starched.
Yeah, but I wear them to all special occasions.
They're my special occasion pants.
I just want to say, when you dress up for a special occasion...
What?
It's not like...
What? I go all out. I get a haircut and everything.
Never mind.
I'm still not looking up to par.
Whatever.
Just get some slacks.
You got that one plaid button-up that you're fancy putting up.
My fancy button-up?
I just did air quotes because it's not that fancy.
No, but as far as my button-ups go, it's pretty good.
It is top-notch of your button-ups.
And I have those special shoes that I wear.
Which ones are those?
They're not like corrective shoes or anything when I say special shoes.
They got like a really thick sole.
No, they're like, yeah, they don't have laces on them.
Are they Skechers?
They're not Skechers.
But either way, it was also like 100 degrees outside
And like we had to drive
We were going to drive for like two and a half hours
And like he told me the day before
Not to wear jeans
So don't make me
Brian if you're listening give me a call
Because I feel bad about it
I actually still have your wedding gift
Here at my house
You gotta do that before a year Or you can't do it Oh then it's been over a year I feel bad about it. I actually still have your wedding gift here at my house.
You've got to do that before a year or you can't do it. Oh, then it's been over a year.
He's pissed.
He wouldn't get pissed.
All right, who's up?
I'm up.
I'm going to play the Erode and Disappear Signal Split,
the Erode and Disappear side that came the Erode and Disappear side,
that came out on Sloth Tapes 2010.
Local label.
Local label.
Is it Tom and John Paul's label, or is it just Tom's label?
I'm not really sure.
All right.
But I like this J card.
It's like a reversible J card.
So you got your signals cover, and then you just flip it inside out.
Your Erode and Disappear. Yeah, they both got their own spine. Their own spine. Yeah, it then you just flip it inside out. You erode and disappear.
Yeah, they both got their own spine.
Their own spine.
Yeah, it's nice.
It's pretty clever.
I've never thought of anything like that before.
Yeah, it's pretty good. It's like an opaque red shell with a silver print on it.
It looks really nice.
What did we decide to call that?
The waffle?
The waffle, yeah.
Tape grip.
Oh, yeah, tape grip.
That's what you want to call it.
This is not as much as the Earth and Sea Tape Grip. Oh, yeah, Tape Grip. That's what you want to call it. This isn't really tape.
It's not as much as the Earth and Sea tape that we played.
Oh, it's not?
It's a little...
Oh, look.
Whoa.
See, it just...
It slips right out of your hands.
Who is...
It's Kevin and Justin from Northern Liberties from Philly.
I like this.
They live at...
Well, Northern Liberties is ailly. I like that. Well, Northern Liberties is a project.
I'm sorry, yeah.
Is there other project, other band who are also from Philadelphia?
In Northern Liberties.
In Northern Liberties, which is a neighborhood.
Yeah.
A little confusing.
I'm not confused.
And who does the art?
It's Justin and...
Is it...
Justin...
It's just Justin that does the art.
I'm pretty sure that did the cover of that and most of the artwork.
He does some crazy drawings, black and white.
Yeah, I always wondered.
I have a large print.
Does he do like wood?
Is some of this stuff like etchings or is it just all like pen and ink?
You know what, I'm not sure.
I think it's all pen and ink.
Some of that stuff does look like it could lend itself to being like a linoleum cut or something like that.
Right, right.
I have a question.
Yes.
Can I get a little bit of that naan that you got left back there?
Oh, yeah, you can have that.
Let me pass that over there.
I want to thank you, Jeff, for finishing up your meal before your next selection.
It's very etiquette.
Sorry, I had to eat, man.
The etiquette.
All right.
Well, let's play a little bit of this Ero Road and Disappear side of the doctors, our friends, and great fathers.
We will be the best of our surrounding fathers.
We are the best of the writers and the great fathers. We are the best of the fathers. Defend it, defend this from the dark

All right, that was Erode and Disappear
from the Erode and Disappear signal split.
That was good.
I liked that.
That was awesome.
How do they spell signals here?
Is that how they spell it with no vowels?
No, I don't think so.
I think that's just a design thing to fit it on because...
Oh, no.
No.
No vowels. No No. No vowels.
No vowels.
No vowels.
All right.
Yeah.
I enjoyed that.
That was good.
So I'm guessing Justin's...
Justin's in...
Well, both of those guys are in Northern Liberty as a band.
Yes.
Right?
With another guy that plays drums.
Yeah.
But Justin also, the guy that does vocals in that band, he a lot of times wears like a marching band, like a percussion thing.
Yeah, like a percussion drum thing.
Yeah, I've seen him do that before.
So I'm assuming he's playing drums and doing vocals in that,
and Kevin's playing bass?
Yeah, I believe so.
Okay.
Yeah, it's good.
Yeah, it was awesome.
Psychedelic.
Am I up here?
Psychedelic.
Yeah, do you want to – should we announce some new tape stuff here?
You want to talk about some new tapes?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, let's talk about some new tapes.
Right on, right on.
Who's got some new tapes out?
Well, I know, I just, because me and Dave went to see Hive Mind the other day,
and there was some new chondritic stuff.
Yeah, yeah.
What did you get that was blank?
You got something that was blank, Dave. Oh, that wasn't a chondritic stuff. Yeah, yeah. What did you get that was blank? You got something that was blank, Dave.
Oh, that wasn't a chondritic tape.
That was some label called Action,
and it's like Action has like an acronym,
like A-C, you know, A-P.
Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's an acronym, right?
I like when Dave bought his tapes from Gray.
He was like, we were saying that he should have bought them,
and then Gray was like,
all right, well, I'll just get these out in the mail to you later.
Why don't you just give them to me now?
I bought a blank tape from Kondritic one time.
Yeah, that B-Mask tape.
B-Mask tape was blank.
Yeah, that's about right.
I was talking to that dude, and I think he's going to send me an MP3 or whatever.
We'll see what happens.
Did you ever figure out with the B-Mask tape?
Did you ever get a copy?
No, he told me to send it back, and I just never did.
No, because that's your fault.
Yeah, I could have sent it back.
But honestly, send it back.
Just send me a new one.
I'm not lying.
That could be a racket.
I want two of them.
Would you imagine?
I'll get a second one and sell it on eBay.
Yeah, send me another one.
And it's not like you need the cover and everything.
Just send the tape.
Yeah, just send the tape,
but whatever. Whatever.
Alright, right on.
I also, oh, go ahead.
What else did you guys pick up at the Hivemind show?
I just picked up the Hivemind tape that he
just put out. A newer tape? Yeah, a newer tape.
I got a, I got
a Hivemind tape. I don't know if it was
newer. I don't know if we got the same one. It was like a
black and white cover. Yeah, yeah, I think it just it just came out okay and then i got a uh it's like
a comp but i'm pretty sure it's like mostly like uh gray and like you know a couple maybe a couple
collaborators and then a couple of people that it's the first time he's releasing like a bit
yeah yeah it's been a while what else has been out? There was a new Gold Timers batch, right? You were just saying that.
Yeah, I think it was just like one or two
tapes, I think, maybe, that Gold Timers put out.
I can't remember
who is it here. I got it pulled up here.
Sylvia
Castle
and Henry
Dawson.
C32 and a C18 and then I
got a
I don't know how much of it was new and how much of it was old
but this label Land of Decay just sent in like
five or six tapes or something like that
nice
I'm going to play Andre
Foisy after the prop
I don't know how to say the guy's last name
we never say anyone's last name. We never know how to say it.
We never say anyone's last name.
Before you get into this tape, though,
Joby, you've got to check out this.
I had an accident.
There's this one tape that they put out.
Wait, you had an accident?
I did have an accident.
Oh, that's a project?
I had an accident?
No, it's the name of the label.
Oh, okay.
They put out a tape.
It's Project Hard Hard Julia that i don't really know anything about but it's you gotta look at this yeah the actual tape looks
like really look at this cassette this is this is this is some eye-popping shit here look at that
there's there so it's like real to real like metal hubs inside like a clear plastic tape and there's
printing on the hubs joey the hubs of the hub spin?
Joby, keep in mind that people aren't here listening to you,
so you still have to talk into the microphone.
That shit's crazy.
Where do you get a tape like that?
That's what I was trying to figure out.
I don't know if they did that custom
or it was just like some random tapes that said Eagle on them.
With like, you know, an eagle.
Because, I mean, it's Hard Heart Julia.
The name of the tape is dreams of ways of killing her.
And then it just says Eagle on the real,
which isn't really like a,
they somehow came upon those tapes.
So yeah,
it was like the ones that you got that had,
um,
what was the imprinting on it?
Oh,
like on the top of the tape,
they said,
uh,
Jesus is Lord.
Jesus is Lord.
Yeah.
And I think this,
that,
that actual,
but these tapes,
like, it's not just
the imprinting
it's like
yeah it's a whole
yeah
yeah
those are crazy
but I think
that version of this tape
there's only 10 of them
so
okay
so they found
10 of those tapes
yeah they found
a few of those
and wanted to use them
now I'm thinking about it
this is a C15
and that
I'm looking at the
amount of tape on there
and it's way more
yeah it's way more than C15 that's still pretty cool like where yeah i just said whoever's you
know anybody out there that's making tapes this is uh this is a gold mine like manufacturers
listening to them yeah national audio company is listening yeah make them like this they got
their finger on the pulse
oh yeah they know what's going on they got it all figured out then underground tape label scene and
baptist churches they know all what's going on yeah there's only people who buy tapes right now
there was a baptist church around here that i was delivering something for work one time and i asked
them like i was like this might be a weird question but do you guys use like tape duplicate the tape duplicators and like have like blank tapes around and then the lady was like
oh like doing like she showed me this closet that was just full of boxes of blank tapes I think you
had a room with uh four separate one to three machines that were all like like you know didn't
you give me your number yeah and she
was like we're not going to be using them for much longer because we're moving over to cds
and i was like you know i want to pick this stuff up from you and then you know i never called and
i haven't like been back there or anything so like how does the the baptist work when you so you go
to mass is it mass it's um you know, like... Service. Service. You go to service.
They record the service.
They record it.
And then you go to the next one, and you can get a tape of last week's service?
And it's like, oh, man, have you heard June 5th, 2001?
The reverb is so fucking nice.
No, I think it's for, like, old people who can't get out of their house.
So that they can hear the Mass.
Yeah, they get the tape, and they hear it.
Yeah.
Okay.
That makes sense.
Are there some hardcore collectors of services?
I bet you there's people.
There's probably a blog of that,
just rips of rare sermon things. People who follow Reverend Jimmy, whatever.
I bet you there's people who collect weird tapes of everything,
and they're like,
I got a huge catalog of like
neighbors having sex and like you know here's one of like baptist churches from the you know
the midwest and like stuff like that but uh i'm sure yeah i'm sure there's definitely people around
like that of course i'm i you know they're probably not making these tapes anymore because a
they probably moved on to cdrs sure or b who the fuck is
like everyone who wanted them is dead now so there's always new old people yeah but the new
there's always new old people but those new old people like you know they're not like the old
ones they're they don't make them like they used to. They used to be built for tough.
All right.
Well, like I said, Land of Decay sent like five or six tapes in.
I've been listening to a few of them.
This one is Andre Foisy, After the Prophecy.
I've been taking a liking to.
It's a pretty solid tape. I like the little name, logo type thing. Yeah, it's like a clear golden yellowish tape
with a white imprint of an A and an F
and a pretty cool style.
I have to say, there's a lot of tapes with nature shots on them,
but I kind of feel like it always, it just always works.
Like, you know, like a high-res photo of some, you know, some sticks and leaves, you know.
Some trees and sky.
Yeah, it's just, it always works for me.
If you can't get out of the house, it's a really nice way to feel like you did something that day.
And I really like, I like how the spine is like, you know,
it's got like a transparent gray bar over the image.
Like when you fold it out all the way.
Yeah, you can still see the image.
Yeah, that's nice.
It's nice.
It's like a belly band.
The only thing, I don't want to go on in Google Image Trees
and have that pop up.
If that pops up on the first page.
I'm going to be very upset.
Dave, does it stand in there first like first page i'm gonna be very upset dave does the same
in there and anywhere like photographs by um nope all right but this is solid this is a
nice nice fake card yeah stock it's a pretty good tape there's a lot going on with it
uh i'm gonna play it's about a couple minutes into the B-side. Pick up there and play a couple minutes. So, Andre, I don't really know how to say your last name, but...
Foisey.
Foisey.
Good old Andre Foisey.
Here it is. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. so
so so so Thank you. so Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. All right.
That was a clip of the Andre Fozzi
after the prophecy table landed decay.
That sounded like it wasn't your voice, you know.
Like you dubbed in.
We dubbed in later.
Yeah.
Maybe it was.
Radio magic.
David.
Davey. Davey Davey
What do you got
What you got
I got
I pulled
The worst looking tape
Off my shelf tonight
Which happens to be a good one
I was looking at it earlier
He's not lying
It's a horrible looking tape
Let me see this thing
This is a
I don't know if you want to
This is a split on
MT5 tapes.
Is that the Baltimore?
It's an imprint of MT6.
From Baltimore, right?
Right, exactly.
It's Palm Tree's cassette duo and who's the other one?
Legless.
Is it Legless?
It's like a weird Legless horse.
Yeah, it's a split between the two of those.
This is the worst looking tape I've ever seen in my entire life.
It's like a weird floating horse with no legs. It's like a sticker on the front. This is the worst looking tape I've ever seen in my entire life. It's like a weird floating horse with no legs.
It's like a sticker on the front.
This is the worst looking thing I've ever seen.
The inserts in ballpoint pen.
I don't even understand how you got to the insert yet.
The cover itself.
There's so much to talk about.
Joe, did you notice?
Look on the shell, the label on the shell.
What label is that tape on?
No, look at the actual tape
what it's on it's just it says something's tape 2008 with the name of a label i guess it was
supposed to be on scratched blacked out with a sharpie mts but i think it was supposed to be mt
five five there was that was a typo and the other cover is just this sticker on the case
but it doesn't go around to the back
oh god
and it's the worst fucking artwork ever
I can't believe you brought this into my home dude
oh yeah
you know what I mean
when I got it I thought it looked horrible
but it's a good tape and now that
I like the tape I wouldn't want it any other way.
You want it to look this bad.
If this got reissued...
I can think of a few other ways I'd want it.
What's the guy's name who does this label?
I don't know.
I don't know anything about that label, really, except I think he put out...
I want to say it's probably something like Professor Pudding.
No, I believe I met him. I think he's friends with my friend Matt Riley I believe I met him yeah
yeah you're saying this is a good tape though yeah it's a really good tape uh one side's good
the professor what is it both of them Palm Trees Cassette Duo and Legless I'm gonna play the Palm
Trees Cassette Duo side it's Gary Stevens who's in Head Malt.
Oh, Head Malt guy. Okay.
He was in the new Flesh. I don't know if they're still active
or not, but they're like really noisy.
That guy's like a really good artist, too.
He tattoos and stuff. Oh, yeah. I like his tattoos
a lot. This one's with
this crack. He didn't have
creative control on this one. Let me see this real quick.
I can't believe you ever even
heard this, because if I got this tape, I wouldn't even listen to it.
This is so bad.
It's almost bad that I'm actually going to like it now more than I like it.
Exactly.
Not the insert.
The insert's awful.
But the cover.
With the red text.
You're saying it's conceptual
and the horse with no legs
it's all stretched out
I'm trying to get what angle this is going at
I think it's like a Sims
it's like a Sims prototype
like outdoor
yeah I imagine this is like
a Japanese TV guide would have this like on one of the pages
uh what are you playing the palm trees yeah it's the palm trees side gary stevens who is
legless legless i'm not sure oh yeah i'm actually i'm referring to my notes i don't know who legless
is uh but good notes it's um jot those down before you show up
legless question mark
um legless is also on a live in uh glenn bernie cdr with regis fear and lavis magmas
and uh glenn bernie uh is that pa or maryland maryland i think that's Maryland. Yeah. And he also did a split with Suburbia Melting, Andrew Quitters, who's also Redrosphere,
his other project.
So I don't know the guy's name, but he's done that stuff.
Skaggsville?
Skaggsville.
Oh, I think Glenn Bernie's by Skaggsville.
And Dumb Fries.
And Dumb Fries.
And Man Asses.
Let me see the inserts.
They're all in the same area.
Oh, my God.
The insert.
The insert's like the...
It's a conversation piece.
That's what they were going for.
It's got us talking.
It's a combination of things written in pencil and ballpoint pen.
And I like that it says
MT50000002.
Slash 2008.
He's really anticipating
thousands of releases.
Thousands of releases.
Well, at this rate, you could probably pump out like 18 releases in an afternoon.
Oh, man.
This is so bad.
Dave, this better be good.
It's good.
It's good.
This is another one of your practical jokes, is it?
This is actually one of the first, probably one of the first noise tapes that I've owned.
And I think it sat under the seat of my car for a couple months.
Nice.
So it's going to have some nice warble wobble to it.
Sure.
We'll all hear that in there.
All right.
Right on.
Well, here is some of Palm Tree's cassette duo off of their split with legless. I love you. so
so so
so I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 so I'm going to try to the other side. I'm sorry. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, uh
uh Thank you. All right, Palm Trees Cassette Duo.
Split with Legless.
MT5.
MT5.
MT5.
MT6 imprint.
Baltimore label.
What was his name?
Alex.
Alex something or other.
Grossman. I feel like that's from something. It's Alex name Alex something or other Grossman
it's Alex something
yeah yeah
he did MT6 which was like
I don't know they put out like less noise
geared stuff you know
still weirder stuff
didn't you say Social Junk was on
Social Junk yeah
yeah
what's his WTS PSii 32 on the top of the
tape i don't know i've gotten some i've gotten some tapes before that had like weird numbers
and i guess it's like the manufacturer like code for yeah different shit how they catalog or
whatever yeah all right it's uh it makes me laugh every time i look at it and like i said i don't think
i'd take this tape any other way how did where how did you get that tape yeah yeah exactly i'd
like to hear the story my band played um a show with the new flesh and then like two years later
maybe two years later maybe a little less than that i went down to baltimore to see a show and there was a record store near the venue so i stopped in there and one of the dudes from the
new flesh was working there and he recognized me he was just like oh hey and he handed me this he's
like you know this is my new thing this is my new i guess it was gary stevens if it was if he said
this was his new thing so check this out yeah i did the cover you mind putting that tape in the hallway while we continue what are you gonna call you fucking
every turn the ringer off yeah man leave your phone downstairs do you have your phone i left
it downstairs actually my phone's on you guys are both here no one's calling me i know this is like
a high production thing we got going here i just don't like the distractions. Alright, I got a tape.
We need to take a moment to collect ourselves.
You want me to put this outside?
Yeah, put it outside in the hallway if you don't mind.
I don't want to accidentally look at it.
Alright, what do you got, Joe B?
I got a Pax Titania.
Is that how you say it?
Titania tape?
Titania. Titania.. One of the Catholic tapes. Titania.
Titania.
This is a good gem.
Yeah, this is a good tape.
This is a really good tape.
This is a real good tape.
This came out a while ago.
I don't really know too much about this guy.
Florida, I believe he's from, right?
I don't have my computer today.
I don't have any notes.
Not wired in.
Not wired in.
I don't have any notes like Dave has.
You usually can't get any notes. Not wired in. Not wired. I don't have any notes like Dave has. You usually can't get
any bars in this room
anyway.
Nah, that's a tough one.
Yeah, for some reason
tonight I've got like
full signal.
Full signal.
Unless we mess with
the moon.
Well, it is about to be
a lunar eclipse.
Ring of fire.
See, I think we were
talking about it last
time how you don't
like, Mike, you were
saying you don't like
the lines on the
artwork to like mark where the J car gets folded. But I think it kind of about last time how you don't like, Mike, you were saying you don't like the lines on the artwork
to like mark
where the J car
gets folded.
But I think it kind of
works good on this one.
It's like a thick,
you know,
nice thick bars.
I think it works well.
I don't know, man,
because you got this picture
of the tree
and it like cuts
right through the tree.
Another nature scene.
Inverted nature scene.
Makes little panels.
I like it on that one. You like it on that one? All right. If you both guys both like it. I like it on that one.
You like it on that one?
All right.
If you both guys both like it,
I'll like it.
I like it too.
All right.
I think where people go wrong
is when it's like a real thin little line.
Where it looks like...
Where it looks so obvious.
Where it looks like that's,
you know,
it's supposed to be marking.
Kind of...
What paper are we talking about here?
My hands are like sliding off.
This is like a bubblegum wrapper.
This is like a...
Is this a bazooka joke?
Is this a bazooka wrapper here? My hands are just sliding off. Is there like a bubblegum wrapper. Is this a Bazooka Joe wrapper here?
My hands are just sliding off.
Is there a comic in there that makes no sense?
Is that what Bazooka Joe is up to these days?
Not making any sense?
All right.
So, Pax Titania.
Catholic Tapes.
Here's a cut. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. All right, that was a cut from the Pax Titania tape on Catholic Tapes.
I don't know if this doesn't have any sort of other information on it, I don't think, as far as...
Yeah, there's nothing.
Yeah, I'm sure you can't get that anymore. That's like four years or something like that.
Yeah, this is a while ago. This is Catholic Tapes 27.
Yeah.
So, yeah. Right on.
Blast from the past
I was
now I was just
grabbing for this
Paul Simiter tape
on Tranquility
because we
I think
we've mentioned
Tranquility tapes
every single
time but not
played anything
from them
we haven't played
anything
and all of my
Tranquility tapes
are starting to
collect in this room
because I feel like
I bring one in
every single time
and it just sits there.
I got a whole stack behind me on this table.
You do have a whole stack behind you.
Yeah, of stuff cataloging up.
But I feel like we need something a little bit more
because you're falling asleep, Joe.
I'm falling asleep, yeah.
But you just had all that Indian food.
Yeah, I'm going to food coma.
That's just sitting there right now.
Is that going back in the pile again?
That's what I'm afraid of.
I wanted to bring it up.
But you want something that's coming up. But I want something a little bit more. Here's what I'm afraid of. I wanted to bring it up. But you want something that's going to...
But I want something a little bit more.
You know what?
Here's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to get two cuts.
I'm going to play a little bit of this John Lorenz tape.
Is that all right with you?
Two cuts?
Two in a row?
I'm going to play just a little sliver of this.
You remember that movie?
Sliver?
I'm going to play a little...
That was like a social thriller.
It was a Baldwin vehicle, right?
Is that when he watches people through in the apartment complex?
I've never seen it.
You've seen it.
No, I haven't seen it.
Yeah, that was a psychosexual thriller.
Was Sharon Stone in that?
Sharon Stone was in that.
What ever happened to Sharon Stone?
Dave's losing his mind.
You all right, Dave?
What was it?
Psychosexual thriller?
So specific.
That is a specific genre.
It comes up on my Netflix all the time.
Are you serious?
No.
Okay.
You might like it.
I always get, what is it called?
Visually striking time travel movies.
And there's surprisingly a lot of them.
Right now there's a category called understated movies.
I don't even know what that means. Well, it's because it's understated.. I don't even know what that means.
Well, it's because it's understated,
so no one does.
It's not underrated.
Understated.
Understated.
It means like people are sitting around like,
hey, what's going on?
Why we talk?
Why we talk?
I'm going to play this.
This is on bake tapes?
Nothing.
Hold on. Let me get all set up here
yesterday this is on baker tapes who's baker tapes baker tapes i don't know this is baker
tapes number four though she's just being bitch is that understated she missed my birthday last
year john lorenz is uh one of the dudes one of the john in Wasteland Jazz Unit, plays the sax.
Just J-O-N, huh?
Sans the H.
Yeah, he left it.
Sans means without, right?
Yeah, it does.
Nice.
So you nailed it.
Nailed it.
Nailed that one.
You going to that party tonight?
So we'll play this.
What is Sans?
I'm sure it's, you know.
Latin?
No, it looks lame.
Latin for without.
All right.
Latin for forgot it in the van.
And then it ends, and you don't really understand what the point of the movie was.
Oh, that's an understated movie.
Yeah.
All right.
Baker Tapes, I'm not sure what Baker Tapes is or who does Baker Tapes or anything like that.
I like the cover.
Yeah, the cover is like a little, you know.
I've done some collage work myself.
See, what I think they did there is cut the square out
and paste it onto another different background.
I'm into that.
Yeah, and just as John Lorenz on the spine.
This is getting you going.
Joe is just waking me up a little bit.
I'm going to get a Pepsi throwback, and then I'm going to snort it.
You're going to snort the Pepsi throwback?
Maybe get an Arch Deluxe.
Yeah, I might actually.
Never mind.
Yeah, don't go on with that.
All right, so I'm going to...
I was expecting this to be a little bit more... I haven't listened to this one in a while
I have another John Lennon tape that's really like
Yeah this sounds like
I'm tired and angry
Alright I'm just going to play this
Possum in your tape
I got my Pepsi throwback let's do it
Cause like I said
How did you get that so fast Joe
Radio magic
Made with real sugar.
Thanks.
Thank God.
Well, as opposed to high fructose corn syrup.
Yeah, but I mean, come on now.
Like, that's the selling point?
There's no difference.
There's no difference between sugar and...
Where do they keep the low fructose corn syrup?
This is actually disgusting, too, by the way.
It tastes just like Pepsi.
No, it doesn't.
Which tastes just like Coke.
And don't tell me you can taste the difference.
I can definitely taste the difference.
Pepsi is sweeter.
Pepsi is sweeter.
Coke is like full-bodied.
I think Coke has got a fuller body.
It's like a different flavor profile.
No, it hurts.
It almost hurts to drink it. Listen, I want to just play this possum on your tape. That's all I different flavor profile. No, it hurts. It almost hurts to drink it.
Listen, I want to just play this possum on your tape.
That's all I want to do.
That's all I want to do right now.
All right, do it. Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 The Thank you. The The The The The

What did you say, Dave?
Just a taste.
Just a taste.
Just a taste.
Forest, mountain, valley.
I like how silly these get towards the end.
We're silly fellas.
No one makes it to the end.
No one's listening to the end.
Your mom did Grow up Joe
I couldn't even say that one
Alright
Alright
Alright we're gonna go out
We're gonna do one more cut
One cut from Joe
I'm gonna do a cut
And then Dave's gonna take us out
I'm gonna do
The cherry point
At Jenny Ritchie split
It was a split and collab, right?
Is that what I'm picking up here?
One side is Cherry Point, and one side is Cherry Point and at Jenny Ritchie?
The side I put in is the Cherry Point side.
All right, all right.
So let's do that.
You don't see much from Bill Blankenship anymore.
Although, didn't Tronics recently put some more
stuff out recently?
I don't know. I haven't seen anything.
I thought I saw something on the board, but maybe not.
Oh, you know what? I did see some stuff.
I feel like he put out
a John Weiss CD.
What is that project that
he does with John Weiss?
It's called like...
LHD? No.
White Gold? I don't't know white gold was definitely a
weasel related thing yeah i'm not sure what the project they do together is though but
electric heavy land isn't that an acid mother's temple album i believe it is
oh i think there might be a uh little lawsuit oh here alert the lawyers
who came out with that first
I think it was
because that's a play on a
butthole surfers
yeah
butthole surfers
what documentary was that with the butthole surfers
in it when he's like in the dentist chair
Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice 2 Beetlejuice?
Beetlejuice 2, Beetlejuice Goes to Hawaii?
Anyway, Cherry Point. Thank you. I'm going to go ahead and get back to the car. Thank you. I'm going to go ahead and get back to the car. Thank you. Thank you. All right, that was Cherry Point.
From the split with at Jenny Ritchie.
Some HNWs.
No.
Yeah, that's right.
HNWs.
Harsh Noise Walls. Harsh Noise Walls, yeah. Yeah, HNWs. HNWs Harsh Noise Walls
Harsh Noise Walls
HNWs
What do you got Dave?
Dave's going to take us out tonight
I took us in
Dave's going to take you out
I was seeing how long
Delivered like a pro
That was pretty funny
I'm really excited for this pretty funny I'm really excited
for this tape actually
I'm the middle man
Yeah this is
me and Joe
have talked about this
a lot
You guys been talking
without me?
We have
We talk sometimes
I tell you
always call me
on three way
It's really too
too much
Too much
You like a good
one on one?
I like a good one on one
You start to talk and then he starts to talk.
You don't even like the speakerphone.
I hate speakerphone.
I'm not into it.
It never sounds good.
It never sounds good.
Sometimes you need it.
It's a good tool.
I'm not into it.
No, I hate it.
What do you got, Dave?
What are you guys apparently just been fucking talking about without me?
Just sipping tea somewhere.
Talking about tapes.
Talking about some tapes.
Whatever.
This is a split on Sweatledge Guru.
Came out in 2010 between this project Dunian and Monster Alley.
And this guy Dunian.
Is that why when I call you and you don't answer, then I call Dave and he doesn't answer because you're talking to each other?
It's because we're talking about this Dooney and tape
This guy's from Latvia
Latvia
See I thought he was some LA dude
But you told me Latvia
Yeah it's crazy
I looked it up
Because I was trying to find some information for him
For tonight
All he's put out is this right
This is it. Since 2010.
It is a really good release.
Yeah, it's solid.
I've played it more times than I can remember.
I downloaded a copy of the CD-R.
Is that what it was originally?
He originally did a self-release CD-R in 2010.
And then that same year,
SpyLodgeGuru put the split out.
Where did you hear about that?
Through some witch house stuff.
Someone who does
one of the witch house labels
Triangle or something
was like
Is that still a thing?
Triangle across Triangle.
Triangle across Triangle.
I don't know.
But one of those dudes
who does one of those labels
was like check this shit out.
So I downloaded it and it's fucking awesome.
Yeah.
You talking to him, too?
Hmm?
So, yeah, we're going to...
I think I'm just going to play the whole side.
Let me get a look.
Because I was trying to think...
Yeah, play the whole side, because the whole thing is all over.
I mean, it's just a C26, so what's that?
You know, 14...
Well...
14, 12, 13 minutes? I? You know, 14, well.
14, 12, 13 minutes?
I like how you couldn't get it.
It's like 14 or 12 minutes.
It's like math.
It's math.
No, let's just play the whole thing,
because I think the whole EP. What font they use in here.
You really like that font.
Yeah.
It's a three-dimensional.
It's called like Comic Crazies or something like that.
Yeah.
I don't know what's going on with the artwork for this fucking thing.
The actual CD-R artwork was way better, I thought.
You got some zebras, some giraffes.
I just don't get it.
I just don't get it.
It seems so far removed from-
Well, see, a zebra is like-
