Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode of Tabs Out is brought to you by Dwarfcraft Devices. Dwarfcraft, huh? Who is Dwarfcraft Devices, you say? That's what I would like to know. Who is that? You say in line at the Costco to the cashier? Yeah, who is that? You're all half naked and sweaty.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Who is Dwarfcraft? Whispering it. Who is Dwarfcraft? Well, don't ask them. Ask us. Why would you ask them, dummy? Well, you fucking dummies. Well, Dwarfcraft Devices is a company making new machines for new music.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Ooh, I like new machines and new music. What, you think they were making old machines for old music? I kind of like that they marry both of those concepts together. We're talking about... Under the name of one company. Gluten-free. Ooh, I like that. Effects,
Starting point is 00:00:50 pedals, and modules. I love gluten-free. Gluten-free is anything in general. Oh, yeah, yeah. I'll buy it. I like my gluten gluten-free. Just give me a bag. But Dwarfcraft Devices doesn't make wheat gluten. They're making module gluten, pedal gluten, all the other glutens
Starting point is 00:01:06 including a new module for sale soon called what's it called? okay but what's it called? yep did you plan that that you were going to do that? spontaneous huh? that's why we keep you around Dave
Starting point is 00:01:21 for your spontaneous humor your likable relatable humor why'd the chicken cross the road I don't yep Dave you recorded something with the yep module correct yeah I tried it out let me snap that in we almost had it
Starting point is 00:01:39 there it is listen to that tell us about the YEP, Dave. The YEP, I believe, is an 8 HP Eurorack module. Hewlett Packard makes it now. It's their unit of measurement. It is 8 Hewlett Packards. Not one.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Not two. But three. Well, the four. Gate burst generators that are controlled by a master clock. When the clock is high, the gate bursts happen. When the clock is low, the gate bursts don't happen. You can use the clock on board to control it, or you can use an external clock to control it. I don't know, man, about these fucking modular stinks you guys use.
Starting point is 00:02:23 I'm a fucking six-string warrior. The Rock don't fuck around with those, man. So what you're listening to is all time. Some fucking twinkle, twinkle little star bullshit, man. Give me some fucking... You know I was in a rat cover band. You like leads, right? I was an axe warrior.
Starting point is 00:02:42 You know, it turns out I thought I was in a rat cover band for four years. You know what happened? I was in rat. I had no fucking clue. One day I found out I'm in rat. There's no way I love rat. The Rock loves rat. Ooh, wait a minute. So what is it? Is this one of your dwarf crap
Starting point is 00:03:00 devices, man? Nah, The Rock's playing with you. You might like their pedals, right? Yeah, they make some pedals too no i go clean straight to the end get straight into your fucking ass man rock you to hell uh dwarf got devices though they're shit no don't turn this down i can't even hear myself think we're rocking this is good though david you recorded You recorded this? Yeah. This is nice. This is all being clocked from the door craft. So it's going to different parts of different things. He sends it all over the world wirelessly.
Starting point is 00:03:33 It's going everywhere. Wireless. They're wireless now. I sent it through Skype. I sent it through fiber optic cable. I sent it through Keystone XL pipeline. I sent it through the Transpacific Partnership. The TPP? I don't think
Starting point is 00:03:48 we should pass that. The Dorkraft devices. Not only does their shit like... They also sent another pedal. Turn that down. That's getting really loud. I can't even hear anything. I like it. They sent some other stuff. The shit, it looks beautiful, too.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It's gorgeous-looking stuff. And awesome shit. Yeah, laid out nice. They sent some other stuff. The shit, it looks beautiful, too. It's gorgeous-looking stuff. And awesome shit. Yeah, laid out nice. They used those Davies knobs on there, which are always nice. Classy. Coming at ya. Dwarfcraft Devices, check them out. Oh, my God. We got an output.
Starting point is 00:04:15 I was just going to say a line for the commercial. We got an output out of each of the things. Yeah, you got an output per burst generator. And a clock output. I believe there's a clock output as well. A clock output, and then that and that's the substitution all right i can't wait to get my hands on this thing yeah joe i think you'll have fun with it twiddle around give you some give you some cool crab tap dance type rhythms i like those rhythms and you know if you go you can also send an envelope into there oh all right and it'll uh oh i think i watched a video for that and it'll change
Starting point is 00:04:43 the where do you where do you put that at into the into the clock yeah you can put that into Oh, all right. And it'll log. Oh, I think I watched a video for that, and it'll change the... Where do you put that at? Into the clock, right? Yeah, you can put that into... You can put whatever you want in there, but it reacts differently with an envelope. Oh, right, because it'll slow and then speed up or whatever, right? Yeah, and I'd notice that they're quieter when the envelope's lower, too. So you get, like, dynamic, like, louder.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Louder keys. Oh, shit. All right, cool. Dwarfcraft.com. Dwarf right, cool. Dwarfcraft.com. Dwarfcraft Devices. That's Dwarfcraft.com. And you know what? Use coupon code TOOSCARY.
Starting point is 00:05:13 What? T-O-O-S-C-A-R-Y, in case you were wondering. TOOSCARY. And this is serious. Use coupon code TOOSCARY to get 15% off the month of October. What? Yeah. Nice.
Starting point is 00:05:27 Look at that. Deals. From Dwarfcraft Devices. Dwarfcraftdevices.com. Also on Facebook and Instagram and Twitter and... MySpace, Friendster. Starting point is 00:05:45 They make Amazon Comments. You can check out. They're pretty good. But yeah, dwarfcraftdevices.com. Hi. I'm Peter Criss from San Bernardino. You're listening to Tab Cell? The temperature in the building is 42.
Starting point is 00:06:10 This is Peter Christian, San Bernardino. Are you listening out, Tad? The temperature in the building is 42. Outro Music All I break down Knock down Throw down Hey! Wow, I like that. Tabs out. Gazette Podcast, episode number 72.
Starting point is 00:07:15 A very special one for many reasons. One, if you notice there, we have a sponsor for this show. Big time. Hit the big time. Hit the big... Done with it. We're not even going to be on the internet anymore. We're done with the internet. We've outgrown it. They're sending us... Show me the show. Big time. Hit the big time. Hit the big. Done with it. We're not even going to be on the internet anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:25 We're done with the internet. We've outgrown it. They're sending us. Show me the money. Exactly. Also, I, fellas, I know the people at home, you fine listeners can't see this, but we got new mic stands. I'm loving these mic stands.
Starting point is 00:07:40 New mic stands. Yeah. New mixer too. Oh, this is going to do wonders for my back. The old mic stands, they were nice. Little tabletop mic stands. New mixer, too. This is going to do wonders for my back. The old mic stands, they were nice. Little tabletop mic stands. You had to lean into them. And Joe B., little known fact about Joe B., not a leaner.
Starting point is 00:07:52 He's not leaning. No, no, no, no, no. I still think next time I want the tray table. You want the tray table? Because now to lean back and be really comfortable. You really lean back. I didn't know you'd be leaning back that much. Well, I mean, I'm doing what the chair tells me to do.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Yeah, okay. Yeah, the chair's in charge. I like that. You don't got a leaner. No, no. Well, I got a nice situation. Don't talk about my situation. I'm really enjoying this.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Don't talk about his situation, Joe. Please get out of here. But what I'm saying is now I'm so far away from the laptop. You're miles away that if I wanted to see a sample, I'd have to be like... No, you don't have to do that. Just, um... You know what you do? What do I do?
Starting point is 00:08:34 Push the mic stand to the side. You still got to lean all the way into it, huh? So you want the train table. I got to see it. I can't see that far. Okay. Here's your cataracts. I have glaucoma.
Starting point is 00:08:46 Glaucoma. What are cataracts? Cataracts is like a mystical creature. No, it's like a milky... It's half cat. A milky mystical creature. It's half cat, half anthrax. The band.
Starting point is 00:08:59 So it's got the Scott Ian goatee. But it's dyed like Dimebag Daryl. Rest in peace. And it's also, though, a cat. But it's dyed like Dimebag Daryl. Rest in peace. And it's also, though, a cat. It's on all fours. People love Dimebag Daryl. Oh, yeah. Ain't got enough of him.
Starting point is 00:09:15 So I have to be kind of forward. Okay, I hear you. That's what I'm saying. All right, well, episode number 72. Also got a new mixer in the house. New mixer, yeah. Do you hear that? New mixer.
Starting point is 00:09:24 This one's got effects on it. Put an effect on it. Can we do that? Hey, hey. Well, hello. You like that? This is going to be fun. DJ Outside Space. DJ Outside Space coming at you. Coming at you in the midnight hour.
Starting point is 00:09:40 We're going to rock this place tonight, boys. We got some mildly groove. Going to shout at the fucking devil, man. Call in number 62679-pound. Answer with the phrase that pays when two tickets to go see Crocus this weekend at the Laughing Goat down in the village. Shout, shout, shout. Shout, shout, shout. Shout at the devil. Oh! All right, get serious.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Oh, my goodness. That was crazy. Things got crazy. Did you plan that? Are the effects still on? Or is it just in my head? I want them to be on so bad that I hear them. Oh, it's still in your head. Yeah, you feel like you're in that space.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Yeah, kind of like a mirage. You talked that record up really good, Dave. You that yeah man that's a skill that's a dying skill they don't teach that anymore they used to be you know the people the elders of radio used to take on young gentlemen and teach them how to talk in a record they don't do that anymore all right uh that was peter chris if you couldn't tell doing the intro there and somebody else somebody amount of talking in a record. They don't do that anymore. Alright. That was Peter Criss, if you couldn't tell doing the intro there. And somebody else. Somebody sickly, I believe. Peter Criss from Kiss? Not Peter Criss from Criss
Starting point is 00:10:53 and not Peter Kiss from Fish. Is it Fish or Kiss? No, this is Peter Criss, the pseudonym of a fellow. Wait, what's a pseudonym? It's like a simonym. I love cinnamon. Oh, it's so good in spaghetti sauce.
Starting point is 00:11:10 You can put it in anything. You like cinnamon in spaghetti sauce? It knows no bounds. I just started putting it in my coffee. Do you know this, though? What? Don't tell us how most cinnamon isn't real cinnamon. It's not cinnamon. It's cassia.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Do this again. No, that's real. Yeah, I know, but you've said it like cinemas. It's Casio. Do this again. No, that's real. Yeah, I know, but you've said it like three times. It's interesting. Not on this show. It was interesting the first time. I gave you that. I got like five interesting stories, Mike.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Most of them are fake ones that I told you. Yeah, a couple. Peter, Chris, a guy who is in or does the project, is involved with the project German army very prolific fella doing a lot of stuff has a lot of side projects this this is a solo project I was in her name Peter Chris actually have to Pete to to Peter Chris tapes here really quiet why can't I hear that mmm I got turned down a little bit play it again I want to really feel it. Dave, you're making me nervous.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Don't fuck it up, Dave. But two Peter Criss tapes, Rim of the World, a tape that came out on Spring Break Tapes. It's actually, it doesn't say it on here, but it normally has an explanation point. Like, Spring Break Tapes! Like, you get really excited. You're excited because it's Spring Break. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Is it Spring Break Tapes? No, no, it's at the very end. It's at the very end. Because it's spring break. Yeah, exactly. Is it spring break? Tapes. No, no. It's at the very end. It's at the very end. I'll see what they did. But this is spring break number 22. It just came out.
Starting point is 00:12:33 I want to play with this a little bit more. I like this. I like it. One other. Oh. The rock from Slovak coming straight at you in the midnight hour. DJ outside, please. We're teaming up at last, motherfucker.
Starting point is 00:12:50 It's gonna be the biggest degrees in the building. And only getting hotter by the second. We got some guns and rolls that's gonna slash your fucking dick off. Here comes Big Boy! Welcome to the jungle. Rim of the world on Spring Break Tapes. Mike, you did a pretty good job of talking that one up. It's a dying art.
Starting point is 00:13:24 It's hard. This came out as an edition of 100. And let's talk a little bit about this packaging. So it comes in this baggie here. And it's got this little booklet. Like a four by six little booklet? Photography of, I believe, somebody's in Southern California. I wrote about this extensively on the website, tabsout.com, if you want to look at it some more.
Starting point is 00:13:43 And also, there's like, each cover is like a one-of-a-kind cover with like, anybody want to look over here? Not a slide. What do you call this? It's like a little Polaroid thing. A little Polaroid thing. It's like a mini Polaroid.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I've never seen one of these before. Miniature. That's a miniature Polaroid for those that don't know the lingo. And a sick gold tape with a yellow imprint that I can't talk enough about. I've never seen one of these before. It's like Urban Outfitters sells them.
Starting point is 00:14:10 They're like little cameras now. Oh, really? Yeah. So play a little cut off of that and a little cut off this other Peter Chris tape that came out. Mike, talk in your microphone. I am.
Starting point is 00:14:23 All right. Where did I put that tape? No, I was being a jerk. I know what you're being. Dave was adjusting the levels. Hey, turkeys, gobble, gobble. Thank you for finally getting that. Peter Criss, martial arts tape.
Starting point is 00:14:37 What's that from? What? Are you kidding me? Play it again. Hey, turkeys, gobble, gobble. That's cricket. Good morning, Vietnam. from It's Always Sunny. The Thanksgiving episode.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Geology number nine. I don't think it's out yet. Actually, I'm looking at it right now. At this very moment, it's not out yet. You can pre-order it. It'll come out October 9th, which is a Friday. Pretty good day. Yeah, this is a Friday. But play a little bit. Pretty good day. Yeah, this is going to be an edition of 75.
Starting point is 00:15:08 It looks like the artwork is like a picture from the same fucked up, unlivable, sad place that these photographs are from. But yeah, play a little bit off of both these tapes. Rim of the World on spring break. Marshall South on geology. Let's get into it. Peter Criss. Peter Criss. Here we go. © transcriptF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. I'm sorry. I'm going to go ahead and get out of here. so so Thank you. Peter Criss.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Peter Criss. Usually it's way over here. Yeah, it's really far away. Peter Criss is normally at arm's length of Jobe. I'm taking my socks off. Oh, shit. I think we all should. Dave, you too.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Nope, not happening. That was a little cut from Rim of the World on Spring Break and Marshall South on Geology, which will be out maybe now. I don't know what time it is. Where do you live? Who knows? 69 degrees somewhere. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:22:03 Who cares? That's what I say. I sayeth the number which shall never be spoken. Here we go. Do the farts plan from left to right? They're on both channels. Oh, it's in stereo. We really worked hard on that. Farts in stereo.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Good for you. You really did something there. A lot of people will go through life that won't accomplish anything, but Dave? Dave, you've played that a lot. Yeah, you can just go for the big sleep now. You did it. All right, Joby, what do you got?
Starting point is 00:22:36 I got a tape by... Can I just say I just moved the mic back? Tab Jones. It felt real good. Tab Jones, double platinum. Tab Jones, ooh, namesake of the show. This show was at, was he named after Tabs Out or were you named after him? I think he was named after us.
Starting point is 00:22:53 Hmm. Tab Jones on Tabs Out. This is a first. So I'll play two cuts off this tape. I'll definitely do that. On the spray paint side. Wait, let me see this right here. So this is just like.
Starting point is 00:23:03 Ooh, I like that. This is just a Maxell cassette. Yeah, but you can't tell until you turn it over. Yeah, but one side is like, you know, old school noise spray paint and the whole shell, you know, a base layer of green with a splattering of red, then a sprinkled
Starting point is 00:23:17 dusting of another green. And then on the other side, just the Maxell shell. I like that. Yeah, totally uncovered. No, I like it. It's a C90. Hand me that. But it's only 22 minutes of music on the other side, just the Maxell shell. I like that. Yeah, totally uncovered. No, I like it. It's a C90. Hand me that. But it's only 22 minutes of music on just side A. What's on side B?
Starting point is 00:23:32 Nothing. And nothing else on side A. Did you get a bum one? Did you look into this? No, no. It's only 22 minutes of music recorded onto a C90. I love. I didn't get a bum one.
Starting point is 00:23:43 I love the cover. It's like... It looks like a poster for a local dude's hip-hop record. Yeah. Well, that's kind of what this is. Double platinum. And the real big inside...
Starting point is 00:23:56 Tab Jones, double platinum. 22 minutes. Oh, it says 22 minutes. Okay. Yeah, I didn't know why you were arguing with me. Like, you got a dud one. I'm reading.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Well, I'm like,. Joe, what I think happened here is a bad case of a bad dub. I think you ought to send it back. Jeez, Zoe, not again. What label is this on? Did you say that already? Yeah, Green Village. Green Village? Green Village,
Starting point is 00:24:22 huh? Wait, is there a website? G.GreenVillage.com yeah so it's that's good I like that like a whole lot of that All Race Reserve 2015

Starting point is 00:30:57 Very seasonal. Pumpkin spice. Orchard Taste. Let me see. Oh, Orchard Taste. Okay. Let me see the letter. Phase 4. Tape came out on Golden Cloud. Oh, see the letter. Phase 4.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Tape came out on Golden Cloud. Oh, yes. I love that label. I don't see enough people talking about that label. Everyone, if you're listening, can you please start talking about Golden Cloud a little bit more? Dave, you are too upset. Here, smoke this. I've never seen someone play

Starting point is 00:32:11 It's very fun That's a nice toy to have I agree This came out I believe it's like a It's like the tape version Of something that Came out in 2013
Starting point is 00:32:19 Like you know A digital thing Digital Digital That's the new That's the new shit That's the new shit You hear what they new shit. You hear what they're doing with the Steve Jobs? It came out
Starting point is 00:32:28 with a German Army tape and a Michael Henning and Philip Ringler tape on like I said, Golden Cloud. Excellent fucking label. Always put out tight shit and I love the... I like it every time.
Starting point is 00:32:43 You never get a bad dub. And this guy, uh, they're a, they're a company that provides good, reasonably priced dubs. God bless them. Um,
Starting point is 00:32:56 this guy's basically just put stuff out, self-release for a while too. Yeah. Dude from Portland, Nick Amersley, but it seems to be pretty, pretty popular. Oh, yeah?
Starting point is 00:33:07 Yeah, for a dude that's just putting out... It looks like most of them are just digital files, too. Which is... I still can't understand. Digital? It's the new shit. Just mainly digital. So there's a series of tubes, and they're full of wires. And the wires are all linked to mainframes.
Starting point is 00:33:23 What do the mainframes do? The mainframes power the cloud. The cloud constantly, the cloud's like, more, more power, more energy. And the mainframes. Like Tim the Two Man. Like Tim the Two Man is always like, more power. No, it's more energy.
Starting point is 00:33:37 More energy, more energy. Or like Uncle Jemsy from Full House. He's always like, give me mercy. Here's some mercy. And Uncle Toby is like, cut it off. Here's some, Dave, give me a little bit of reverb. Just a touch. Here's some mercy.
Starting point is 00:33:59 And they're like, how mean. Pass me this tape. You got it, man. I love this cover art. What is that? There's these boxes that go around. There's these two, like a one thick box. I don't have that one right now.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Oh, come on, Joe. I can only fit so many. Get a bigger mainframe. Oh, Jesus Christ. Either way, it's a beautiful cover art. Now I dropped it. Oh, look at that. I think before we actually play this.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Oh, look at the imprint on this. I like it. Well, we're not done talking about it yet, huh? And I'll say one more thing. I like how the inside, it's not completely white as a background. There's a little bit of gray, but you can't really tell. All right, go ahead, Dave. What do you got?
Starting point is 00:34:48 That's it. I mean, you wrapped it up really nice. Okay. As far as that tape's concerned. Before we play this tape, though, actually, I think... Phase four. We're going to play... Fourth phase.
Starting point is 00:34:59 We've got another sponsor. Oh, we do? Yeah, so we're going to play a commercial. Oh, we got another sponsor? Yeah. No, we're Pack Full Sponsors. Tab's out. Now Pack Full Sponsors. Pack Full Sponsors. All right, play it. We're going to play a commercial. Oh, we got another sponsor? Yeah. Tab's out. Now, Pack Full Sponsors. Pack Full Sponsors. Alright, play it.
Starting point is 00:35:07 We're going to play that, and then from that, we're going to go right into Orchard Taste. Do you just keep plugging along with the wrong kind of tongues? Well, come right along, and let's write that wrong. Hi, I'm Tammy Dong, maker of Tammy Dong's Long Tongues. Other
Starting point is 00:35:23 tongues are just all wrong, but our tongues are so long, they'll make you as happy as days long. They're the best tongs, but don't take my word for it. Here's satisfied customer Brian Wong from Hong Kong. Hi, I'm Brian Wong from Hong Kong. When I'm not playing Donkey Kong or smoking a bong, I'm using Tammy Dong's Long Tongs. We have tongs available in long, extra long, and world record holder King Kong Super Long, a furlong long megatong. I was playing my hong and eating a footlong the first time I heard of that tong. Our tongs are extra strong and will last all summer long. To order your pair of Tammy Dong's Long Tongues, go to www.tammydongslong.com
Starting point is 00:36:07 and use the coupon code DINGDONG to get an extra pair of Long Tongues free. Try for a whole week long. That's www.tammydongslong.com. So long. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Orchard Taste. Oh, my goodness. Orchard Taste. Mmm. Delicious tape and... Ham, girl! Love the sponsor there. Yeah. Oh my goodness. Orchard Taste. Delicious tape. Damn, girl. Love the sponsor there.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Oh yeah. I would have to say, if you don't understand any of that, then listen to... Was it episode 71? Was it the last episode? Yeah. If you want the origin story of Tammy Dong and her long tongs. We should come up with a good, like, actually how she got into making long tongs. No, Mike, you're doing this
Starting point is 00:42:08 all wrong. Okay. See, I think Tammy Dong used to work making shirts at Billabong. I think we should do this to a song. And then one day someone came in wearing a bracelet that said, live strong. And she just said, I have to leave. I have to make long tongs. And she unplugged her
Starting point is 00:42:24 three-prong radio and got the hell out of there. We also have electric tongs with two or three prongs. So if you want to be grounded or not. What do they do? Why are they electric? Or do they just go like that? Do the prongs
Starting point is 00:42:39 move because it's electric? They get Wi-Fi. It just gets Wi-Fi. It's a Wi-Fi hotspot. Tammy Dong-Fi. It's a Wi-Fi hotspot. Tammy Dong's Long Tongs, now Wi-Fi hotspots. Brought to you by Sprint. I like Sprint. I got no problem with it. Sprint and Samsung.
Starting point is 00:42:55 Are you going to stay Tammy Dong for the rest of the episode? Give Tammy Dong a little reverb every now and then. She deserves it. She's not a reverb character. I'm just not saying she deserves it. Obviously she deserves it. She's not a reverb character. I'm just not saying she deserves it. Well, obviously she deserves it. Alright, I'm going to play this tape.
Starting point is 00:43:12 A collaboration between... Play a tape. Do you have that? One tape, please. Wyatt Halland and David Russell. Oh, yeah? White cassette. It's called... Let's talk about this packaging real quick. It's nice. It's real nice.
Starting point is 00:43:27 So David Russell, I believe, works for Hallmark. The greeting card people. What? Hallmark. The greeting card people. Come on down and get a greeting card. No, he works for Hallmark. And they have some sort of laser etcher there.
Starting point is 00:43:42 Oh, Dave, you might be able to reach it. Look on that top shelf behind you with the double cassettes. This is really tall. Is that why Dave could reach it? The right pile of the double cassettes in the large cases, second from the bottom. Let's see if he can do it. He's not going to do math.
Starting point is 00:43:59 No, you're on the left, Dave. Come on, man. Oh, he did it. Okay. Damn it. Now, this might not be the one. Oh, it's the one. Oh, he did it. Okay. Damn it. Now, this might not be the one. Oh, it's the one. Oh, it's the one.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Okay, yeah. So this Noroco case, see how it has the state of Ohio? This is the Ohio compilation that came out a few months back. And it's a lasered etch on the back of the Noroco case, the state of Ohio, right? So he has access to a laser etcher. We, guys, it's the year's 2015. We have access to laser etching.
Starting point is 00:44:33 Anyway, he has access to laser etching, and he used it on quite possibly the most beautiful, definitely the most wonderful O-card I have in my possession, or maybe possibly exist. But damn near one of the most gorgeous looking cassettes. So, their faces, like a bust of them both, is like laser
Starting point is 00:44:55 edge. 2014, you're listening to DJ Upside Space. We're gonna start it off tonight with some Panama's from the band LA. And they shredded on the axe like a motherfucking chap. David Lee Roth doing the vocals, you know. You know how it go, the rest of the band. Who gives a fuck, man? It's all about Eddie and Dave, you know what I mean? Call in, 243-89H-LADDER. Give me the praise that pays. Send you to the Amazon.
Starting point is 00:45:39 So it's like a white O card, and their faces are like laser etched into it. So it's kind of like this like gold shiny picture of their faces very detailed and there's a texture to it and then the text on the spine uh wyatt halland and david russell white cassette on one side polar envy 103 no it's a beaut i've never seen anything like it check that out david mitts on that it's beautiful isn't it yes so uh no it's really nice yeah it's really nice play something off the that. Dave can check the mitts on that. It's beautiful, isn't it? Yes. No, it's really nice. Yeah, it's really nice.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Play something off the... It's not on the sound design recording. I thought it was. That's Dave Russell's label. I thought Polar Envy was more of a catch-all for a bunch of Ohio activity, but I guess it's also a label. Maybe I knew that. I don't really know. White Howland, who most people know by Skingraft,
Starting point is 00:46:26 the name Skingraft. David Russell's in like Jerk and goes by David Russell's Snake from time to time. They play in Murdered Man. Oh, Murdered Man. Yeah, we saw them at VOB a few years ago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:39 They were fucking awesome, man. Yeah, it was tight. And like outside, it sounded beautiful. This came out in September in an edition of 35 copies. Ha ha. No, Dave, that's not... No.
Starting point is 00:46:50 What? 69 is the number that's funny. No. Here it is. We're going to go in with a little 69 song. The rock from Slovak shoving it right in your fucking ears. Here we go. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:47:02 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69, 69. It's a C-30. Play a little bit off the A-side. A couple of cuts. Wyatt Halland and David Russell. White cassette. Thank you. so Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. why how and david russell polar envy number 103. I don't know if it's still available, but you most likely have the internet.
Starting point is 00:53:29 You most likely have access to the internet. Not all of our listeners, Mike. All right, all right. I'm being a little classist. Some people still get it through the regular mail. Yeah, they're still getting a series of cassette tapes mailed to them. Speaking of, did you guys see that video
Starting point is 00:53:44 of the guy with the Kmart cassettes? I saw that you sent it to me, and I have it saved for later. It's long. It's like 15 minutes long. It's like 11 minutes. So Kmart in the 80s and 90s. Easy, Michael. Wow.
Starting point is 00:53:58 I didn't mean to offend you. Hi. So Kmart in the 80s and 90s The music they pumped through the speakers in the store Was like cassette tapes Like really long cassette tapes With like Muzak And commercials and stuff And like you're listening to Kmart radio
Starting point is 00:54:15 And like they had jingles and stuff And they would be monthly Like they would get one for February 1989 And they played for February And then when March came along They'd get a new cassette And you're supposed to throw that old one away, but this guy
Starting point is 00:54:27 kept them. Oh, alright. And then they went to a weekly basis. And then there's a special one for the 30th anniversary. There's one just for the pharmacy. How long are the tapes? Really long. Really long. Yeah. As long as you can get them. Longer than my tongue? There's long.
Starting point is 00:54:43 They're a fair long, long. There's long. When I heard Tammy Dong had furlong long tongs, I said, no way. There's no way there's a tongue that long. But sure enough, that tongue was furlong long. If it's available, get it. It's an awesome tape. It's got some sick, harshy, loopy-doopies and some scrapey-wapies.
Starting point is 00:55:04 We were just looking at the cover. Those are the hardest. Those are the hardest. Those are the hardest to catch. It's like a like a wabbit during wabbit season. But we were just looking at the cover under a magnifying glass and it was... It's crazy. It's crazy. It's like little dots.
Starting point is 00:55:19 Wow. What the hell is that? There's a leak in here. Uh-oh. Oh, no, no, Joe. That's actually a scallion. A scallion? Yeah, that wasn't a leak. Scallion pancake? I like scallion pancakes.
Starting point is 00:55:31 That's double humor. All right. All right, Dave. What do you got, Joe? All right, Dave. The people heard enough. Shut it off. Shut your toys off.
Starting point is 00:55:41 Quit playing with these. Good foley work. This isn't a child's toy. I'm going to play this Opaline tape. If you want to donate the tabs out so we can buy more effects for the mixer, you can do that. What are you playing? That's all his SD card holds.
Starting point is 00:55:59 16. 16. Whose turn is it? It's mine. I'm trying to play this Opaline tape. Opaline. Opaline, Opaline Drink it for the health Give me a little bit of reverb
Starting point is 00:56:11 Opaline Drink it for health That was too much, too much reverb Yeah, this is a good fucking tape I was jamming this On hacktivism. Yeah, hacktivism whose website, if you go there, says website expired.
Starting point is 00:56:28 So I think somebody hacktivism their hacktivism. They took them out. Oh, really? I think Anonymous took them out. Yeah, this is hacktivism number, who used to use that term? Like creationist crucifixion? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:41 They were hacktivists? Hacktivists, yeah. Used to make video games where kids did drugs or something. Something like that. Something like that. They made a robot or something one time. I don't think it was. Oh, yeah, Hitchpot.
Starting point is 00:56:50 They made Hitchpot? Yeah, that robot. Good for them. Hacktivism number 13, edition of 50, came out. When did it come out? I'm looking for it. It's new. It's new.
Starting point is 00:57:00 It's new. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we got, they sent us a couple tapes. It hasn't been a while. No, it's not been a while. They sent an ectoplasm Yeah, yeah. Because we got, they sent us a couple tapes. It hasn't been a while. No, it's not been a while. They sent an ectoplasm tape, too. Oh, yeah. It was really good.
Starting point is 00:57:11 They do a series of tapes that are like VHS singles or whatever, right? Yeah. That come in like O-cards that look like an old VHS tape. Oh, okay. It's the second one. That ectoplasm was the second one. Oh, there's not another one on their band camp. I think the first one was by...
Starting point is 00:57:25 I got it right here. Oh, you do? Acroromanticist. Oh, it does say number two. Speaking English, that didn't sound like English. Dave, you need to number your sound clips. I know. Well, you see, I have both of those mapped to close bracket and open bracket.
Starting point is 00:57:38 I keep confusing which ones work. Yeah, I would too. The person's name who does this is Hunter Peter Thompson. Hunter Peter Thompson. It seems like he should be this is Hunter Peter Thompson. Hunter Peter Thompson. It seems like he should be writing the great American novel. Hunter Peter Thompson. Give me a little reverb, Dave. Just a bit.
Starting point is 00:57:52 You want reverb for just a little bit? Not too much? No, just a taste. Hunter Peter Thompson, author of the great American novel. That's it. That was it. Written and recorded at Sky Plaza. I like that name. Sky Plaza, huh? Sky Plaza. It's like a plaza, but it's in the Plaza. I like that name.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Sky Plaza, huh? Sky Plaza. It's like a plaza, but it's in the sky. I see what you did there, sir. Me! Isn't the case like a green tint, too? Yeah. I love when they use the green tint.
Starting point is 00:58:17 The tinted shell matches the tinted Noroco case. Ah, when the tinted shell matches the tinted Noroco case. Ah, when the tinted shell matches the tinted Noroco case. The Noroco case. This is truly quite a piece you have here. I'd wager this would catch you fairly $7 plus postage on the band camp market. You wanna play

Starting point is 01:07:34 68. All right. No, that wasn't funny. That was a trick. Gotcha. Number prank. What do you got, Dave? Number prank.

Starting point is 01:08:31 Dave, you're on this tape, aren't you? Yeah, I do a little bit on that tape. I was a little disappointed because I thought it was going to be part of a track, but it's just you do some shit at the very end, right? No. No, you're on a track? Yeah. I didn't notice.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Knock down the park, Dave. Yeah. That's cool. That's awesome. I do some transparent work on it. The spine is upside down, which I'm a little upset about. I think that's on purpose, though. And then don't you get it now?
Starting point is 01:08:58 Oh, it's just to razz me. Come on, guys. No, but this is, yeah, dudes from around here, right? Yeah. Yeah. Dave, Steve, and Chris. What, you guys don't know Dave, Steve, and Chris yet? Come on.

Starting point is 01:09:47 All right. Pass me that over. No, I don't need the reverb now. I'll have a sign that I hold up. Reverb on and reverb off. I'm constantly holding one of them up. Hey. I just like turning it on sometimes.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Joe, say something. It's fun. Hello. Hello, hello. Youth group, E-U-T-H group, number one. This is Rick's label. Oh, I was trying to figure out. You guys know Rick?

Dear God, I've been crossing my fingers. Lay you back on the truth, doesn't matter. Put a control on the filth in your image. I'm out of the way, you're red It's one of my friends in the crowd
Starting point is 01:12:19 Get it, get it, get it Take it down Put my sights in the clouds Take it down Take it down Allow me to play it fast Thank you. I've been crossing my fingers To pay you back what you've done to me If this world is built on your image I'll tear away your big, big plan It's one of my friends in the crowd Dead, dead, down It's one of my best in the crowd
Starting point is 01:13:26 Dying Stone We'll be right back. I'm standing still So I don't need to know I'm standing still So I don't need to know I'm running for control Steve, calm down, man. You don't have to be so angry about things. If we find out that orange is really purple, do they have to redo all the crayon papers? They just expect you to figure it out.
Starting point is 01:14:52 Alias, The Beekeeper. God damn it. Write them down. Worth, self-title tape. Youth group number one. I don't know how to get it. I don't have one. You don't have one? I didn't even know about it. Mike doesn't have one. No, I do. I have one know how to get it. I don't have one. You don't have one?
Starting point is 01:15:07 I didn't even know about it. Mike doesn't have one. No, I do. I have one. It's right there. Bam, right there. I wasn't talking about tapes, Mike. Oh, 68.
Starting point is 01:15:18 Next thing is definitely Corto, right? Isn't that short in length? Corto. Yeah, but it's wide and flat. Wide and flat? That's how you want it, right? Like a tapeworm or something. Wait, tapeworms probably aren't wide and flat.
Starting point is 01:15:31 It's like a Noroco case. I'm saying probably. Somehow you'd be able to tell. Wait a minute. Just the name. I don't know. It's not a bullet dress. I like that character. You don't know Steve.
Starting point is 01:15:43 It's a bullet dress. I like that guy. I'd rather blow out your ass. I like that character. You don't know Steve. Blow out your ass. I like that guy. I got two lazy eyes. Two lazy eyes. Two lazy eyes. All right, Joe. What do you know? All right, I'm playing this.
Starting point is 01:15:53 Whoa, whoa, whoa. Don't try to do this. Don't try to do me dirty again. You've skipped me in the past. Fool me once. Shame on you. Fool me twice. That's another thing.
Starting point is 01:16:04 That's a whole lot. If it's in the book, it's in the twice. That's another thing. That's a whole lot. If it's in the book, it's in the book. It's my turn. It's my time to shine. I'm going to play. Which one do I want to play? I'm going to play this. What is it?
Starting point is 01:16:17 Funny you should ask. I'm going to play a tape by Granite Mask called Exit Strategies on Aesthetic House. Now, this is a label. It's Aesthetic House, right? Is that how you say it? Because isn't it asceticism? Asceticism? Isn't that what they're talking about there?
Starting point is 01:16:37 Asceticism. But you say aesthetic. Aesthetic? Yeah. No, that's... Or is it... Asceticism? Ascetic, that's... Or is it... Aestheticism? Aestheticism?
Starting point is 01:16:48 Like when you're like... When you withhold all the good shit in the world. And you're like, I'm such a good person because I don't jerk off then eat salami. Whatever the good stuff is. What's the good stuff, you guys? What are the kids doing now? Aesthetic house. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:17:03 This is a label that I don't know enough about because they are a fucking like insane label put out like insane i don't understand the entire deal i believe there's like a an aesthetic house in california and one in new york oh too and they put out stuff independently of each other or something like that i'm not really sure but like i know i know also there was like they do these things i just wish you could see it it's like they'll put out a tape a day every day for a month or something like that they have like you know like they have a thing oh boy i just wish i could understand what's going on either way it's a label that i i want to know more about i want to know i'm going to get a pamphlet from the library i'm going to read it and figure it out.
Starting point is 01:17:45 I have about five. It's free. Well, it's not free. We pay for it. Obama makes us pay for it. You don't have the library, right? Yeah, the library. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:54 I have like five tapes on this label. I know all last year they were all black. Grab them, Joe. They're right behind you. Third row down, second label from the right. There's four tapes. Three of them have black spines and one has a white spine. I said third.
Starting point is 01:18:10 That's also not... That's it, yeah. That other batch that you grabbed... No, and grabbed the white one. It's like you're not even listening to me. You're not a good listener. So last year, 2014, I believe all their tapes kind of look like this
Starting point is 01:18:27 yeah they were they had like a square cover art and then this big like scale logo with an a and an h and the same like font and the name of the stuff and all the stuff and then they had this logo on the side of the stuff and the back was a thing and then the other thing was a thing with a stamp on the label and the black shell and there's a release number with a thing and numbers and letters on the thing. Now, this year... printing on this really nice thin stock that's real toothy. Feel that. It's got a nice texture to it. Thin and toothy. I like thin and toothy. But they put out a
Starting point is 01:19:10 lot of stuff, you guys. And I picked two tapes. I bought two tapes from them on a whim. Based on just the names, I just picked out some names. Ones that I thought would sound pretty neat. And you know what? They do sound neat. Blow it out your ass.
Starting point is 01:19:25 You don't think they sound neat, you guys out your ass. Blow it out your ass. You don't think they sound neat, you guys. Memory Man tape I picked up, and then I picked up this tape by Granite Mask. I almost couldn't say that word. And when I say almost, I meant I could not say that word. Granite Mask, Exit Strategies.
Starting point is 01:19:38 Grace! I know, and I'll try harder as I go along. But this is a... Both these tapes are awesome. This Granite Mask tape, though, was like I really... I don't like it. No, I'm joking. You don't like it? I like it a lot. I like it so much. I like it a lot.
Starting point is 01:19:53 Remember that? I love Jim Casey. I love Jim Casey. He's like, Somebody make me stop doing this! You know? It was like one million DeLoreans. He's like, I'll be home.
Starting point is 01:20:19 E.T. use your phone. I'm going to play something off of... E.T. Answerphone. I don't know much about Granite Mask. They have three tapes on instead of cows, and they have a tape on a C-47 on Nostalobo. But play something off of... I think I got a cue up to the B-side.
Starting point is 01:20:42 Maybe the second track on the B-side. Why do you keep playing that one? Because you just said the B-side. You see what he did? I take it back. I'm sorry, dude. Off the B-side, Sting Op, I believe it's called. For those who haven't done any service for this country, that's Sting Operation.
Starting point is 01:21:00 So play a little bit off of that. Granite Mask, Exit Strategies. A Static House. came out in July. Here we are. Here we go. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Tabs out. We're back. Granite Mask. Yeah, come in right when I have a mouthful of greasy-ass french fries. Hmm. Give me a moment.
Starting point is 01:27:01 Me too. Granite Mask coming at you there off the aesthetic house release exit strategies. That tape is fucking tight. Where are the
Starting point is 01:27:13 other tapes I have right now? I feel like I have... Oh, that social junk tape. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 01:27:19 If the social junk tape, if you can find that tape from 2014 on aesthetic house, pick that up. Or was that? No, that was last year, pick that up. Because that shit was...
Starting point is 01:27:25 Or was that... No, that was last year. And that was fucking insane. Or was it this year? No, 2014 was last year. 2014. What years are we in now? 69.
Starting point is 01:27:37 Can you put reverb on this? Here we go. Nope. All right. Buy stuff from that label. I think it's often available from Chondritic Sound. That's where I got those tapes. All right, B, what you got?
Starting point is 01:27:56 Cool story. Thanks, man. I'm writing actually a series of cool short stories. Cool stories. Short and cool stories. You guys remember scary stories? Tell them in the dark? Are you afraid of the dark?
Starting point is 01:28:12 Are you afraid of the dark? That's too scary. I don't want to deal with that. The ones with the crazy drawings. Like the black metal drawings. Too scary. Too scary. Too scary. They hate change. Too scary. All right, I'm going to play this tape by... Too scary. They hate change.
Starting point is 01:28:25 About seven strangers. What? Come on. They hate change. Called cycles. They hate... What? Obama, they mean?
Starting point is 01:28:30 They hate Obama? Death bomb arc. It's a change. We were the change we were waiting for, right? Can I have those French fries over there? French fries. Can you believe that... French fries.
Starting point is 01:28:40 We're already at the end of Obama's presidency. It's crazy. I like Obama. It seems like it just started. It seems like it was just yesterday. I was watching Oprah cry. Remember how Oprah cried? No.
Starting point is 01:28:49 I love Obama's America. I'd like more of Obama's America. I just want to be over with so I can stop hearing people complain about me. Oh, that's not going to happen, Dave. Dave's under the impression that people will stop being racist. Good luck with that one. What are we playing? I need some new racism.
Starting point is 01:29:06 Oh yeah, let's start racism-ing on new people. Let's get one of those tribes that haven't left the Brazilian... Yeah, that haven't contacted modern day civilization. And let's bring them all here,
Starting point is 01:29:22 have them take our jerbs, and then complain about it. That sounds good. That'd be fun to do, wouldn't it? And we get to name them, too, because we just name people whenever we want to, right? I'm down for misnaming a people. That's fine. We haven't done it in quite some time.
Starting point is 01:29:41 What do you got, Joe? They hate change. Like Obama. Listen. That's Like Obama. Listen. That's my Obama. Listen. I'm Death Ball Mark. Though I feel like everyone says in interviews now,
Starting point is 01:29:53 or whatever they say, well, listen. Well, listen. I don't know. I don't listen to a lot of interviews. Or they say at the end, when they make the point, they go, right?
Starting point is 01:30:04 Right? For you to agree with. What are we doing? At the end at the end, when they make the point, they go, right? Right? For you to agree with. What are we doing? At the end of the day. All I smell is pizza. They hate change. Oh, yes. This tape on death by Mark.
Starting point is 01:30:13 Yeah. Did you say that already? Yeah, I've said it a couple times. A couple times. Trying to get you to play. Liars. This is a duo from Florida. Fucking liar.
Starting point is 01:30:21 Andre Ganey and John Harrison. Tampa, Florida. Tampa, Florida? Is that what I said? You just said Florida. I was just saying. You were honing it right on. Really?
Starting point is 01:30:30 Yeah, they hate change. Cycles, death by Mark. Really went in. I really thought the name of this project was Cycles. DJ outside space. Cruising real low speed into the four o'clock AM hour. I see the sun coming up over the horizon. The blood moon, fuck!
Starting point is 01:30:50 You see that eclipse? I couldn't even see the fucking moon, man. I got my finger caught in the Discman again. We're gonna play some Girlfist. They're playing live in the village this weekend. Here we go. Nightwolf. Arrgh!
Starting point is 01:31:20 Because it just says cycles everywhere. Cycles on the spine, cycles on the front. Yeah, I know. And it says they change real small. But this is a cool cover. I like these little squiggly pencil drawings over top of this. God, I wish you could see it. God, I wish you could see it.
Starting point is 01:31:38 All right, you want to play something off of this? We're going to play the first three or four tracks. Three or four tracks? Maybe, yeah. Fast forward, rewind it, play it, record it, dump it around. I got a good dub.
Starting point is 01:31:50 Dump it around. Well, that's what I like about Death Bomb Markers. They provide a good dub. We got a good dub. You guys? What up your ass? Well, you know,
Starting point is 01:32:00 we got some pizza, so let's just sit here. Play it on the high five. Here's what we'll do. We'll sit here, we'll listen to this, we'll eat some pizza, we'll eat some pizza pie,
Starting point is 01:32:06 and then we'll decide what we're going to eat. Coming back at you. They Hate Change Cycles Cassette on Death Bomb Arc. Coming at you. Let me tell you some people What's up, young brother? Can't handle it What's he got going on? Who cares? All my friends are dead

How many times can you chew a piece of lettuce? Is there a limit? I bet it's a state-by-state law. You know, I do agree with states' rights, so I'm not going to complain about it. But all I'm saying is it takes me a long time to chew lettuce. I have porous teeth and they get stuck in it. I kind of just perforate it.
Starting point is 01:39:03 You guys ever perforate lettuce when you chew on it? Instead of chewing right through it, you perforate it. You guys ever perforate lettuce when you chew on it? Starting point is 02:09:54 Look, what is art when you think about it? Pictures of naked girls. Yeah, with like swords and snakes coiled around their leg. All different types of poses. And there's fire in the background and a skeleton skateboarding. There's an alien in the back. That seems out of place.
Starting point is 02:10:11 An alien skeleton? They don't have skeletons. It's like a system of twos. They're like an amorphous liquid. Yeah. Okay, yeah. Ryan Avatar. She saw Avatar recently.
Starting point is 02:10:26 I like Avatar. Watching at the in-laws' house. You ever want to explain to a 75-year-old man what's going on in Avatar every five minutes? Come along with me next time. All right, let's get into this Ryan Emma tape. Pulling the Wool, I believe it's called, on White Reese Productions. Here we are. Thank you. I'm sorry. © BF-WATCH TV 2021 Thank you. so so so

Starting point is 02:14:40 The The The The © transcriptF-WATCH TV 2021 We are back. Smooth move, X-Lax. Get it over there. I was all backed up like two weeks ago. I told you about that, right, Joe? Yeah, don't call me.
Starting point is 02:16:32 You told me all about it. The only poop story I've ever heard that made me gag. I was just backed up for a while. Took a nice pill. It all came out. I'm as regular as unleaded gasoline right now. I liked it when it used to be leaded. You like the lead in the gas?
Starting point is 02:16:49 Yeah, fuck that shit, man. My car made a bigger, you know, fast times. Fast times. So, yeah. So, Joe, what we're getting now, the thing that we're getting is, Joe doesn't mind poisoning everything on Earth as long as his car can get more fast times. Do they have to be at Ridgemont High or can they be anywhere?
Starting point is 02:17:09 I've never seen that movie. Really? Yeah. Have you ever seen Jaws? Yeah, I've seen Jaws. Have you seen Jaws 2? I haven't seen all of Jaws. Is that the aquarium or is that Jaws 3?
Starting point is 02:17:19 It's the shark. I haven't seen all of Jaws. And they're like, this boat's going to need to be bigger. Who can make this boat bigger? all of Jaws. And they're like, this boat's going to need to be bigger. Who can make this boat bigger? I love Jaws. When the guy's like, there's a bomb on the bus. No, no, no.
Starting point is 02:17:33 You're thinking of Speed 2 Cruise Control. That's when they're like, there's a bomb on the boat. And we're going to need it to be bigger. And someone's like, the bomb or the boat? And then for five minutes, they'd say, no, I'm making a reference to Jaws. And they go, you mean Jaws 3D. No, I mean the original Jaws. It goes on like that, and then we talk about it for a little bit. See these balls in your jaws.
Starting point is 02:17:56 Give me some reverb, Dave. Dave's off reverb duty for tonight. Yeah, I'm done. I'm leaning back, man. I'm digging this. Yeah, you look nice. It's thanks to these for tonight. Yeah, I'm done. I'm leaning back, man. I'm digging this. Yeah, you look nice. It's thanks to these new microphones. It's Mike's turn.
Starting point is 02:18:10 Okay. What do I got? Oh, you don't want to play? What do you got? So the other day I did a total reorg, a whole reorganization of all of my tapes. And I got them all, because they're, you know, I try to get them mostly by label.
Starting point is 02:18:27 Group them by label. Dave. Dan's getting sleepy. Dan, take your pills. Wake up. I try to get them mostly by label. There's five-hour energy in there. I already drank it. He already drank that, but since he's a mega man,
Starting point is 02:18:42 he's like an ultra beast. You gotta put it up your butt. Nice and flush and it's gone. The whole bottle or do I pour it? I had tapes like they were on the floor. You sit like your butt's in the air and you're putting oil in your car.
Starting point is 02:19:01 I'll check it for you too. You want to check my dipstick? Yeah Anyway Wipe it off when you're done Basically What I'm kidding at is I got my tapes together
Starting point is 02:19:19 So they're organized now And I found a bunch of shit that I didn't know I had And I found a bunch of A few doubles Got rid of those real quick So they're organized now. And I found a bunch of shit that I didn't know I had, and I found a bunch of... A few doubles. Got rid of those real quick. But one tape that I pulled out that I never listened to before was this tape on Ars Apothecary
Starting point is 02:19:35 that came out in, like, 2013, I believe, by a project called Morsunda. And... Hey, duckies! God damn it! It's Dante Augustus Scarlatti, who I believe does this label, and Pendragon.
Starting point is 02:19:51 Here's the little download code. Oh, did it fall out? I speak English. That didn't sound like English. Now, the packaging for this is there's, like, a six-inch square, like this thick acrylic thing with, like with a transparency,
Starting point is 02:20:05 a color transparency attached to the front of it. You hold it up to the light and you get a nice little picture of it. Completely clear cassette with a white stamp on it. It looks awesome. I like it. They made 110 of them and apparently there's still 27 in stock as we speak.
Starting point is 02:20:21 You can get it for $5. That's a steal. You should get this tape. It's really good. Maybe I'll play it and you'll listen to it and you'll You can get it for $5. That's a steal. You should get this tape. It's really good. Maybe I'll play it and you'll listen to it and you'll want to get it. What was that? It was my throat again. That time I opened my mouth really wide
Starting point is 02:20:34 so you could really hear it. Sample that, Dave, so we can use that in future episodes. It was like some kind of throat insect. I misplaced the name of the tape, but it's a more Sunday tape. It's on our spot to carry number 55
Starting point is 02:20:46 came out October 2013 you'll figure it out let's listen to it how many raspberries are in a bush We'll be right back. Thank you. Thank you. Let's go. I'm sorry. Thank you. The End Thank you. I'm sorry. More Sunday. More Sunday on RS apothecary a label i believe from indiana indiana bloomington something like that but good city too just let me believe just let me believe where they're from today by far i I would say especially the packaging is the best.
Starting point is 02:26:28 What are words? How do you do them? They're the best label as far as packaging goes. Material is killer shit too. That's good word sense. I'm trying to make a pattern out of my words. You're talking makes words tense.
Starting point is 02:26:44 Very good tapes to music on with packaging neat and look at cool. Listen to good and get now. You will. I want to play this mammal tape. Mammal. Mammal.
Starting point is 02:27:02 You'll make me. Fringe residue Tate play Spool rewind On Nostalever Another tape from 2013 2013 Good year was Barack Obama was president 2013

Starting point is 02:27:37 No, good label A post-nurse etiquette label, this is Oh, alright Uh, this guy Gary, who,, who used to run that label. Offsides, number 69. You can't trigger it yourself, can you?
Starting point is 02:27:56 Cut this one short. So Animal Disguise, you guys all remember Animal Disguise. Great label. Gary, when he sent us some tapes, like a Ma Turner tape and maybe another mammal tape, like maybe a year ago, drew us a nice little picture.
Starting point is 02:28:11 It's up there. It's framed and it's up there on the wall. It says, Hey Tabs Out. When he sent us these tapes, new mammal tapes, and this slightly older mammal tape, sent us another one that was like, Hey Tabs Out again with another drawing. I left that on the couch. My kid ripped it up. That sucks. You dummy. Yeah, I again with another drawing. I left that on the couch. My kid ripped it up. Ah, that sucks.
Starting point is 02:28:26 You dummy. Yeah, I know. I know. I'm a dummy. Could have sold that on eBay. I was going to put it on Craigslist and be like, I need a pool table. I need the balls for a pool table.
Starting point is 02:28:37 I have the pool table. I have the sticks. I got it professionally. I got a nice brand new pool table. I don't have any balls. It came with the cue, so don't worry about me there. I'm good there. And I got about a baker's dozen worth of sticks,
Starting point is 02:28:49 but I don't have the balls. I have the eight ball. And I'm always, that's the story of my life. I'm always behind it. And I can only play that. You can what? What? Oh, I sit there, but you can play game eight ball.
Starting point is 02:29:01 Fire it around the table. Until someone makes it. Yeah, drink some Bud Light limes and just fire that eight ball around the table drink some drink some bud light limes and just fire that a ball around the table in my man cave trick shots and everything I talked a little bit to Gary about mammal and and such because the label I don't want to say or no or no like a something like leaka something like that o r m o l y c k a well exactly it's like re-releasing all of his stuff all the mammal stuff everything yeah everything on tape everything on tape re-releasing all on tape and just put out a new one called lake and sand which is really fucking good but what are you going to play the one on uh nesta level from 2013 a c32 c32 pass that shit over man get into it i like

Ah! Oh! Oh, man! Mammal. Inspiration. Thank you. Expiration This moment of sand Slipping through the folds of my skin Expiration Fingers grasping, memories collapse In all themselves The saddest time within its hold
Starting point is 02:32:16 Fleeting glimpses into the next world At various points of no return Exploration Exploration Exploration is shot Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Go ahead. Talk, turkey. That was Johnny Leather with Come On To My Ants. Coming up, we got a hot singer by Newton. Dave, what do you got by Newton? I got a Newton Winter Ritual split that came out on Spirit Throne.
Starting point is 02:37:53 Spirit Throne. Joby, you were saying Max Gamble, who does this label, came out to a... He came to Final Friday. I haven't seen that. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, that's crazy, right? Because he never comes out. It was just him and Crazy Josh there.
Starting point is 02:38:04 That's the only people that were there? Good crew. No, there were a couple other people. Okay. Not that many. I won't talk about it now. It was a good Final Friday, though. Is he still doing Spirit Throne?
Starting point is 02:38:14 I don't know. Is he still doing it? Hey. Hey. I'm not sure. You're not sure? Yeah, I'm not either. Because this came out a while ago, right?
Starting point is 02:38:24 Not a while ago, but almost a year. Yeah. Am I right, Dave? It hasn't been very active. This is number 18. It was the batch when he started doing all white, the white spines with the black text and the cover with the thing. Wait, what year is MMXIV?
Starting point is 02:38:40 Yeah, 2014. 2014. So last year. Yeah. Last IX. Last IX. Dot coms. What. So last year. Yeah. Last IX. Last IX. What's year in Roman numeral? And now he does the, or at least this
Starting point is 02:38:52 batch, which Joe, he had a tape from you, right? Yeah. And a wound tape. And I'm trying to see from here. Did he put that tape for me? Was there a sharks with wings tape or something? That doesn't sound right. That doesn't sound right at all, you dummy. Either way. Savage Cross,
Starting point is 02:39:08 that's what it is. Max Gamble, that's who runs the label, is Winter Ritual, who's on the other side of the split with Newton. Matt Raidman, who just got back from Japan.
Starting point is 02:39:16 I believe he did a tour of Japan. Oh, yeah. Japan. Japan. Japanese. Yes. And from the pictures that he took,
Starting point is 02:39:22 I don't even need to go there now. You got it? I got it. Oh, yeah. Between that and pictures that he took, it looked... I don't even need to go there now. You got it? I got it. Oh, yeah. Between that and Getty Images, I bought a shitload of Getty Images for Japan. I'm set. I know all about it. I don't need to travel.
Starting point is 02:39:34 I got that shit on Oculus Rift, man. What's that? Japan. And Oculus Rift, it's like virtual reality. Oh, really? We have that now? Yeah. Are you serious?
Starting point is 02:39:43 Yeah. You're shitting me. And you're like there. You know what an Oculus Rift is? No, I've never heard? Yeah. Are you serious? Yeah. You're shitting me. And you're like, there. You know not Oculus Rufus? No, I've never heard of it. No? Look it up. It's supposed to be crazy.
Starting point is 02:39:50 I've been waiting for virtual reality. It's for rich people, though. Isn't it always? Yep. All right, so we're going to play some of this Newton tape. We were just talking about a performance he did in Delaware not that long ago. He played at the Bike Project. At a Final Friday, right?
Starting point is 02:40:04 No, no, no. Not the Bike Project. At Rainbow., no. He played at Rainbow. Rainbow Records. He played a bunch of tapes of babies crying. At the end? Where did he source those? I don't know. It was really good. Do you think he's finding them online?
Starting point is 02:40:16 Or do you think he's recording babies? I think he's recording the babies. He went online and recorded the babies. I think his sister has a baby and he recorded it a couple times. What do you think if he found it online, Dave, what do you think the Google search was? Baby Screams. Just babies crying?
Starting point is 02:40:32 Babies crying. Or sad babies crying. Babies crying for Noiset. Okay, and he sourced it from another artist. Okay, fair enough. Who made a playlist? Royalty free. Do you think there's a playlist on YouTube of babies crying?
Starting point is 02:40:46 I bet. You can try. Who was the audience for that? Noise people. Bronies. Bronies are also into babies crying, huh? Maybe. Into sick shit, man.
Starting point is 02:40:59 Have you seen the documentary? I did. They weren't into sick shit. They weren't into sick shit. You gotta watch part two. Part two is Bronies After Dark. That weren't into sick shit. They weren't into sick shit. You gotta watch part two. Bernie's After Dark? That's when it gets crazy. That was on HBO. Oh, it's like a real
Starting point is 02:41:11 sex thing? Yeah. There's a guy tossing salad. It's crazy. Tossing salads used to be like... I feel like we used to talk about that a lot more as a culture. When I heard that, it was like the darkest sex thing I had ever heard in my life. Did you hear it from the Chris Rock stand-up?
Starting point is 02:41:27 No, I heard it straight from the actual prison documentary. Okay. I stayed up way too late at night and turned it on real hard so my parents couldn't hear me watch it. I remember originally seeing it on me and Carmen Diablo were watching the prison documentary and was just
Starting point is 02:41:43 blown away. When Chris Rock did the bit about tossing salads, it was like, yep, this definitely should be something that's talked about. We should all be talking about this. Because that was crazy. Yeah. That like, it crossed like age, gender, everything. Race, religion, it crossed everything.
Starting point is 02:42:02 Everyone was like dumbfounded by tossing salads So what are we doing? Newton tossing salads, right? It's a tossing salads split I bet he'd have a recording of tossing salads I bet he's got that somewhere He's got a stack of tapes somewhere We'll ask him
Starting point is 02:42:23 Because I think sometime in the near future We're going to do a Breathman Records laser focus And he's got that somewhere. He's got a stack of tapes somewhere. We'll ask him because I think sometime in the near future we're going to do a Breath Mint Records laser focus. And he's going to come here and we're going to do a live, like sit down, play tapes, laser focus type thing. Ooh. Yes. So that'll be in the near future. But for now, we'll settle for something from the Newton side
Starting point is 02:42:40 of this winter ritual split. Spirit Throne number 18. Thanks, Peter Chris for doing the, and your unhealthy friend, whoever that is. Somebody who I think you found in the desert. Thanks for doing the intro for the show. That was much
