Starting point is 00:00:00 This episode of Tabs Out is brought to you by Dwarfcraft Devices. Dwarfcraft Devices. What's their tagline again? You gotta make one up. Oh. Cool stuff for cool people. That is it.
Starting point is 00:00:12 You got it. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Ding, ding, ding, ding. Winner, winner. We have a wiener. Dwarfcraft. Crazy guitar pedals. No more people.
Starting point is 00:00:21 FX pedals. FX pedals. And Eurorack modular synthesizers. Or Eurorack modules. Modules. Modules. They have a new little fella out. What are we listening to in the background here?
Starting point is 00:00:33 A little jam I made with the new one. We're using the happiness. Tell me, ooh, happiness. Did they have to pay, who's the guy, because I'm happy? Gene Simmons. Did they have to pay Gene Simmons. Did they say Gene Simmons? Any Bitcoin for that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:47 He owns the word happiness. He does own that. I'm looking at it now as happiness. I was holding it. It's a sturdy little sucker. I would send it into war. I would send it into war and I wouldn't be worried. I wouldn't either.
Starting point is 00:00:57 You got your hands on that twin stags, right? Yeah. Same type of construction. Same enclosure. Tell us about happiness. Happiness is like a filter. And then it also has the scramble option, which, what's that, like a fake sample and hold? Is that what they bill it as?
Starting point is 00:01:14 Perhaps. So it does stuff like that. What's it do, Mike? It takes the last voltage and holds it for a second. Kind of like a sample and hold, but a little different. Hold me, hold me. It makes it go like the LFO out. Nice. They also have an addition, another new thing they got out for their, they're from Euclair, Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:01:49 They have the Euclair Thunder. That's a good city too. It's an excellent city. Good farming town. Good people with roots in the ground. They have a Boris Pink edition of it. Oh, they had that when we saw Boris. Oh yeah?
Starting point is 00:02:01 Yeah. How was the Boris show? It was awesome. Excellent. I really liked the Borat show too. Oh yeah, the Borat show. No, no, no. Not was the Boris show? It was awesome. Excellent. I really liked the Borat show, too. Oh, yeah, the Borat show. No, no, no. Not my life.
Starting point is 00:02:07 Not my life. That was my life. Yeah, while we were. That powerful. I don't know why I didn't go to see Boris. I don't know. I asked you. You're like, meh.
Starting point is 00:02:17 That wasn't like that. But it was good? Yeah, it was really good. Yeah? Yeah, they were selling. Boris was selling. I didn't realize it was the happiness. I just saw that it was like the pink.
Starting point is 00:02:25 The last time I saw Boris, they had two necks on the guitars. Update me, how many do they have now? He had two. No, they didn't get to three yet? I wish they would grow like tree limbs, like branches, like really slowly. And all of a sudden, he's like, I got a third one. All of a sudden. That's stupid.
Starting point is 00:02:42 That's how branches grow, Mike. Dwarfcraft Devices, dwarfcraft.com. They're on the net. Pick up the happiness. Pick up the Boris Pink Edition nuclear thunder. Get some... Get the twin stags. Get the twin stags. Get the happiness. Get everything. You should get both of them.
Starting point is 00:02:58 I've been playing with the Wizard of Pitch for a while now. That's also what I like, really. I like the idea of, even if you're not using it with a module or synthesizer, but linking the two pedals, the CV of the two pedals together. I think it's a pretty crazy, wacky idea that no one else is doing.
Starting point is 00:03:14 They're on Facebook. They're on Twitter. It also has two inputs for expression pedals for the frequency or for the filter and then for the LFO rate. Nice. I got to get one.
Starting point is 00:03:27 That's pretty cool. You got to do it. Dwarfcraft.com. Check them out on, if you have the internet, if you have the subscription to the internet. Go to the library. Go to the library. You get a half hour, I think. You get a half hour.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Right? I can't go to the library. Well, what happened? Why? I have a $20 over- That's not why. We banned you for jacking card from back when I was 10 years old
Starting point is 00:03:47 John Powell is a library man and he won't accept you he doesn't like library humor I think I'm triggered if there's one thing John's getting a little dewy from the dewy decimal system we get it Dave
Starting point is 00:04:02 we didn't think it was funny check him out on the web, dwarfcraft.com. Cool stuff for cool people. Think outside the box. They should say, think outside the box, and then in parentheses, we're talking about the box the pedals are inside. That should be the tagline.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Isn't that catchy? That's pretty catchy. That's pretty catchy. It's edgy, too. It's pretty edgy. I'm very funny. I'm very, very, very, very funny. That's pretty catchy. That's pretty catchy. It's edgy too. It's pretty edgy. Thanks. I'm very funny. I'm very, very, very, very, very relevant. I'm very poignant too.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Very good. All right. Dwarfcraft. Hi. This is Andy Ortman from Nihilist Records. You're listening to Tabs Out. T-Tabs out. Hey. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Double monitor. Tabs out Double monitor Tabs out Two of them Two strips of bacon monitor It's a party It is a party because guess who's here Well let me do the intro first Tabs out because that podcast episode number 93
Starting point is 00:05:59 Just seemed like I was here yesterday I know but here we are once again Do we introduce ourselves Or do we just go right into the special guest? I'm back! Turn Joe B's up. He's back, ladies and gentlemen. John Pyle in the studio tonight. Good John Pyle.
Starting point is 00:06:17 What's up? Good John Pyle. Show some respect to me. Do a few minutes, John. Yeah, so Donald Trump, I think he's got some good plans to get rid of these Canadians. They're coming here. They're bad.
Starting point is 00:06:30 So, John Powell, what have you been up to? You haven't been here for a few episodes now. No, it's been a while. How's the alt-right movement? The alt-right movement is, you know... How are your people? I've never heard of them. I don't know who they are.
Starting point is 00:06:43 I've never heard of them. So I can't really disavow them at all. Oh, that works. Thanks for checking that out now, Dave. That's my job, right? That's your job. So what's everybody been up to? John, tell me everything you've been doing today.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Tell me about your entire... Run me through your day. What time did your alarm clock go off? Well, my alarm clock didn't go off today. But it's Saturday. I don't have to go to work on Saturdays. Good for you. That was cool.
Starting point is 00:07:12 Thank you, Union. I got up. It's a party. Yeah. Ran some laps. Did you really? No. Oh.
Starting point is 00:07:19 You look great. I was incredibly not feeling well this morning. What's wrong? Oh, you know. I went out last night and had some... Yeah. You're crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Yeah, I know. I'm living that wild life. What's going on? We have to find out what's going on. Who wants to play the first tape? Should we let John go into it? Oh, man. I can't wait to see this. I have another idea.
Starting point is 00:07:48 I know how we should start. I don't like to start. I'll start because I want to tell you why. No, I don't think so. We had Andy Ortman there. Chicago guy. He used to play for the Bears. Doing the intro.
Starting point is 00:08:02 We have a tape by him. That is the most illogical attitude called bukla on tape which i think is very uh we no it's not too soon it's the perfect time it's a perfect time for a uh little behaving disgraceful homage i saw this one bukla video and it was like you know there were like a guys in it. It just seemed too much. I'll say out of respect to Don Bukla. I think that's a different kind of video you're watching, John Pyle. I don't think that's pronounced as Bukla.
Starting point is 00:08:32 You know what we're talking about, right? Yeah, yeah. Shh, calm down, boy. Sorry. But I agree. Everyone who's ever played a Bukla doesn't need to show the picture. It's cool. We get the idea.
Starting point is 00:08:49 But I think it's hard to argue that Don Bukla was a genius, right? Yeah. Yeah. He put a lot of holes and knobs on stuff. What? Okay, I got it. What's your problem? It didn't make sense to me, too.
Starting point is 00:09:01 Well, wouldn't you say it's hard to argue that he wasn't? No, no. It would be hard to argue that he wasn't? No, no. It would be hard to argue that he wasn't a genius. It would be hard for you to argue that he was not. He was not, but you said... I said was not. No, you said was a genius. Run the tape back, Dave.
Starting point is 00:09:15 I fooled you. Run it back right now. Was that funny? This is how you can sort of play a trick on your friend. So is this him playing a boucle? I would assume. I would assume, just judging by the name alone. Let me see it.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I'd have to bring forensics up to really check it out. Get a good... I think this is a nice way to start. This is on his label, Nihilist, number 181. A storied label. Two's great. But 181 is A storied label. But 181 is just as good. It's a C46 that just came out
Starting point is 00:09:52 in addition of 100. You shaking that? I see it. Was that funny? So should we go? It's a party. You ready to play this tape?'m ready all right go here we go andy orman buccal on tape non-nihilist records here we are I'm not sure if I can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if I can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if I should have used the I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if you can see it, but I'm not sure if I can get the Thank you. so hey Thank you. Starting point is 00:16:38 What is it? Cooper Black. Cooper... Okay. I thought you were going to make a funny one up. That's fine. Don't worry about it. No, I don't think so. Don't worry about it. You don't have to make a funny one up. That's fine. Don't worry about it. No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Don't worry about it. You don't have to make jokes all the time. It's fine. It's fine. Kind of a trick, right? I was serious. It was Cooper Black. Kind of a trick, right?
Starting point is 00:16:54 All right, JB. Me? You. What do you got? Oh, you know what I want to talk about really quick? Really quick. We're doing the mailbag. Mike!
Starting point is 00:17:04 There's these three packages. In one package, there's three single packages. Each tape is packaged separately. Cool stuff. And so we split them up. Not John Pollock, of course. Me, Joe B., and Dave. We split them up.
Starting point is 00:17:19 We open them up. And it's the tapes on a new label out of Cleveland called Unifactor that put out this, what did we get? What did you get, Dave? I got a new Sam Goldberg tape. And after we opened up that, I was like, oh shit, this is a new label from Cleveland. I know about this. The other tape is a Khaki Blazer
Starting point is 00:17:38 tape. I don't know if I get the Khaki Blazer tape. I feel like a winner. It's a party. I feel like a champion. I feel like such a champion when I do this. Have you ever seen a sliced banana before? Joe, what did you get? I got bending spirit.
Starting point is 00:17:55 Feels like I got a lot of loose body parts. And this artwork is incredible. I love the artwork. No, I don't think so. It sees wacky. Don't tell me you don't like that. I'm behaving disgracefully. You are.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Oh, don't tell me you don't like the artwork on these tapes. I just like to watch. Wait till I'm through with you. You'll be sorry you said what you said. Because the artwork is incredible. It's beautiful. Look at these little collaged little goblin birds. They're beautiful. So check it out.

Starting point is 00:19:20 I think after 178, you have to start a new label. You can't go any higher than that. I think this is from last year yeah they already went past it man yeah they're way past that oh you guys what's going to go what's going to happen now i don't know it'd be like y2k do you think the um yeah remember that shit that shit was crazy it will work go ahead just do it no it's fine everyone it's fine you don't have to go smoothly into it This is not like a rehearsed thing

Starting point is 00:27:03 But I don't know. I thought the same thing in the car. I had a long thought about it. What is that playing right now? Reeves as well. Yeah? Yeah, okay. But I don't know. I thought the same thing in the car. I had a long thought about it. What is that playing right now? Um. Is that me?

Starting point is 00:27:37 joining us thanks again for coming for coming in it's a party I thought I went already no you're so stupid no you're so stupid.
Starting point is 00:27:45 No, you're so stupid. Oh, my gosh. I fooled you. I'm just a big dummy. Kind of a trick, right? That's nice. Thank you. This is how you can sort of play a trick on your friends.
Starting point is 00:27:53 What do you got for a party? So I'm going to start out with an oldie. Like an old person? That's not nice. Yeah. I like them oldies. Don't point them at me.
Starting point is 00:28:06 But yeah, now I'm going to play an old one on Hanson from like 10 years ago. Oh yeah? I like that. What do you got? I got Machine Gun Warfare, self-titled, on Hanson from 2006. Let's check it out. Where is it? Just seemed like it was here yesterday. Where is it?
Starting point is 00:28:24 Where is it? Isn't it over there? Is it over there? No. No, it's right there right next to you oh jesus christ oh are you that's a cover i can relate to being like a very powerful powerful man yeah i can relate to this guy what what is he he's he's like a donald he yeah he's a very tough physically fit gentleman what this is like a war zone of some sort right right? Yeah, definitely. And he's battered. He doesn't look good. Yeah, but he's kicking ass still.
Starting point is 00:28:48 He's over... Is he about to pee on this guy? I think so. It's kind of a trick, right? But if you notice, it's got like a colorful cover, which you don't see on Hanson Records. What's making that sound, by the way?
Starting point is 00:29:04 It's very good. When did this come out? You just said the year. What's making that sound, by the way? That's very good. When did this come out? You just said the year. What did you say, John Pyle? 2000. Just seemed like I was here yesterday. 2006. 2006.
Starting point is 00:29:14 And this is Don Furno from Purrent. How did you know that? No, I don't think so. Jeff Plummer from Shallow Waters, correct? Is it? I don't know. Yes, it's a C30. I have a copy up there on the door.
Starting point is 00:29:28 You do? He has his finger on everything. But mine, I wrote with a Sharpie. I write with a Sharpie on all my Hanson tapes right away what they are. I did not do that. Go ahead. Really? If I look in there, is it going to be written on?
Starting point is 00:29:42 Yeah, go check right now. Go ahead. Where is it? On the door.? Yeah, go check right now. Go ahead. Where is it? On the door. On the door. Go check. Starting point is 00:30:00 Alright. Go. Come on. You have an hour. Well, you call them fingers. I'll call them propellers. How long does this usually take? There's a thing on the side of the car, Bob. There we go. Come on.
Starting point is 00:30:12 We'll edit this in post. Okay, yeah. I'm back. I got it. Open it up. It's the same. Wow, you do write on them. Yeah, I'll tell you what happened.
Starting point is 00:30:21 I took all of my Factotum tapes, which is like developer, and then developer with someone else. Stop that. Developer with someone else, and then like something else. They all fell one day, and they're all white C30s, and they spilled everywhere. You guys.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Mike. Oh, man. Please stop. Mike. Please stop. All systems go, Michael. Mike. Please stop. Mike. Please stop. All systems go, Michael. Mike. Please stop.

Starting point is 00:37:40 That tape's from like 10 years ago, and this is also from like 10 years ago. Chat rooms. No, there's G.I. Joe PSA videos. You just discovered those? I just discovered them like last month. Oh, man. And I just like-
Starting point is 00:37:50 Did your parents block E-bombs world from your computer? I don't know. I was too busy watching like Bush 9-11 videos. Those are good too. I just got so like, I just discovered them, and then like I got completely sucked into watching them and they're amazing so if any of you still find those like me class we're friends probably anyway this is kind of fun to do and it's relatively simple tap it out in the trash can all right yeah
Starting point is 00:38:16 you gotta watch them davey boy what do you got davey havoc davey boy what do I got? I'm sorry, Dave. Alright, go. I can't find my tapes. Hold on. Alright, go. Come on, now. How do we fill in this time? Was that funny? No. That's not what I had in mind, but I'll take your word for it.
Starting point is 00:38:41 No, I don't think so. I'm going to play this VNCF tape. What is that? VNCF. It's a party. It's this tape that came out on Bonding recently. Ah, it's a fine label. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:55 I love that cover. Yeah, the artwork on this is beautiful. I feel like we might have played something from VNCF before. The name sounds familiar to me. We've definitely played at least one, possibly two tapes from bonding. But VNCF, it doesn't sound familiar, but, you know, there's also a lot of, like, initial stuff. No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Pleasure District, this tape is called, right? Yeah, some Spice Channel stuff on the front, though. Oh, let me see. Let me see. Is that scrambled or unscrambled? Oh, it's scrambled. I think there's a boucle going on there. I fooled you.
Starting point is 00:39:34 He doesn't know what it is. Kind of a trick, right? Careful, Mike. It's real uncomfortable, this stuff. He probably doesn't even know what we're talking about. You know, you can do this at home yourself. You don't need to come over to my house to do it. Do we know anything about VNCF?
Starting point is 00:40:00 Do we know anything? I found a bear. No, I don't think so. It's very... With the pixelated, kind of like, sort of pixelated image on the... This is very nice. It's not too scary.
Starting point is 00:41:13 It's not too scary. Not too hard. Cool stuff. Not too soft. John Pyle, check this out. I think you'll love that. No, I love it. I saw it.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Check it out. I also like the label on the cassette as well. It's got some stuff, some people, parts. Can you say something to us? Can you say something to us?
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's a party. Alright, well let's get into this VNCF tape. Pleasure District. Bonding tapes. Hand it on over, John Pyle. There you go. Starting point is 00:47:45 That was tight. Yeah, man, that was tight. Yeah, man. That was really tight. Killer tape. Some chill vibes. It's a killer label, bonding tapes. That tape is called Pleasure. Pleasure. Blech.
Starting point is 00:47:54 Sorry. Sorry about that radio land. A little tongue-tied here. Pleasure District. Tape on bonding. Why are you tongue-tied, man? It's got my... I fooled you. I'm not tongue-tied, Mike? Oh, he's got my... I fooled you.
Starting point is 00:48:06 I'm not tongue-tied at all. That is the most theological attitude. Kind of a trick, right? Mike! Because you know I like to play these kind of scientific tricks on people. Mike! All right, let's get into this. Let's do a double dose.
Starting point is 00:48:18 You ready to do a double banger? I'd love to get into it. You ready to do not one strip of bacon, not like a light breakfast. I'm talking about... Two of them. The lumberjack special. Dave, you gotta stop. You gotta ready to do not one strip of bacon, not like a light breakfast. I'm talking about the lumberjack special. Dave, you've got to stop that. You've got to stop that, Dave. I feel like I can't hear myself in the headphones. I can't hear myself either.
Starting point is 00:48:33 He's too worried about... There he is. All right, Dave. He's too worried about his razzing that he's doing to me. Stay in the booth. I like to ease it up. I don't want to put you right in the hot water. His sugar boy loops.
Starting point is 00:48:42 He's too concerned about his sugar boy loops. Dave, your lips are glistening. They're sugar coated. You got into the sugar. Calm down. Cool out. Cool out, Dave. You're bothering John Potter. I'm sorry, Dave. Let's get into this double dose. Oh, big gulfs, huh?
Starting point is 00:48:59 Double dose of tapes from a label, a German label. John, you'll like that. You'll love that. German label called Bedlam Tapes. He misses the old Germany. Yeah, he likes. John, you'll like that. A German label called Bedlam Tapes. He misses the old Germany. Yeah, he likes... John, tell us about that. I'm more excited about the double dose. Talk about politics for a little bit. Double dose reminds me of a Buchla a little bit.
Starting point is 00:49:15 Two's great. Is that your new thing? Is that going to be your ongoing joke? Two's great. John, spend a minute or two. Sp'm sorry. Spend a minute or two. Spend a minute or two of your time here discussing what Boogla is.
Starting point is 00:49:29 I just like to watch it. You know, it's like a thing. Go on. Go into detail. Was that funny? There's like a couple people and you know, it's a thing. Well, you call them fingers.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I'll call them propellers. All right, let's get into this. Two tapes on Bedlam. Which one are you going to play? I'll call them propellers. All right, let's get into this. Two tapes on Bedlam. Which one are you going to play? I got Reef Frequent. Tape called Emperor. I got Saki. Isn't that neat?
Starting point is 00:49:53 What you have there, Joe, is Saki, I believe, Saki Dream. Yeah, Saki Dream. There's a lot of foreign characters on this one. My keyboard didn't really catch them. Saki it to me, baby, yeah. Yeah, exactly. You got to get on that mic, John Powell. I like that character.
Starting point is 00:50:10 I got Bedlam 15. You got Bedlam 18. I think these both came out in an edition of like 75. Isn't that neat? That's a lot. It says on the Bedlam Bandcamp that all their tapes... I'm going to. Are you ready?
Starting point is 00:50:23 Moment. That all their tapes are dubbed in real time on a Nakamachi tape deck. Ah! But who knows if that's true. The name translates to Saki Dream. Dave, you all right? Was that funny?
Starting point is 00:50:39 That's my favorite one. Whatever that screen. You gonna see if I can guess it? Okay. Ah! That's my favorite one. Whatever that screen. You're going to see if I can guess it. The title is I was lost in a dream. I got some track translations here too. You want to go down the track translations? That is the most illogical attitude.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Okay, we don't need to do it at all. Whatever. We'll skip that part. Behaving disgracefully. I do like on the refrequent tape. I like the cover. It has a whole... Why? Because you know I like
Starting point is 00:51:16 to play these kind of scientific tricks on people. Mike! You have to make the hole bigger than that, obviously. Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike! Mike!
Starting point is 00:51:39 Mike! Dave, you have got to... I'm opting out of this communication with you, Dave. Delete my number. You've got to... I'm opting out of this communication with you, Dave. Delete my number. You've got to stop. Was that funny? Let's play some games. You know, you can do this at home yourself.
Starting point is 00:51:57 You don't need to come over to my house to do it. So let's get into these two Bethlehem tapes. Refrequent, Emperor, Cass Emperor cassette. Saki Dream. Starting point is 01:08:14 I'm not going to get into this, but there's Nazis involved. They say you have to do it. I never showed you my Nazi stamp. I inherited a stamp collection and there's like one Nazi stamp. No, two. There's one of Hitler's face and one swastika. Don't jump to conclusions. I got some Mussolini stuff, too.
Starting point is 01:08:31 I'm more into that. I think it's weird you have it. What am I going to throw it away? Just those? I'm like, not these. Kind of a trick, right? Mess up the collection. What's going on? What's making that sound, by the way?

Starting point is 01:21:46 Maintain low tones with me. Don't jump to conclusions. And then Cathedral from Dueling Scars. Yeah. Anyway, this is kind of fun to do, and it's relatively simple. This is nice. That was awesome. Yeah, they're really good.
Starting point is 01:22:00 I'm sorry. I love this paper. The stock that they use is nice. He was using vellum for the covers before and it was really cool. I don't like vellum. Sometimes it's nice. With Alien Passengers, it's really nice. I love vellum. He did a great job
Starting point is 01:22:13 with the vellum. Look at Dave's face. Love it. Look at Dave's face. Seriously, I love it. Who was the last track we were listening to? That was Cathedral. Did he get Stephen Hawking to do some vocals at the end there? I think that was just Dave's thing. Because you know I like to play these kind of
Starting point is 01:22:29 scientific tricks on people. Those were tight picks. Those were tight picks. Let's do Davey Boy. Who wants to give Davey Boy some attention? Davey Boy. I'm going to play this
Starting point is 01:22:46 odd person and Miguel A. Garcia split. It's part of the Noose Fertilizer series on objects. You get the idea? Oh, yes.
Starting point is 01:22:59 I know what I'm talking about. I know what I'm talking about. This is the fifth in the series, correct? Yes, number five. You are a terrible listener i i'm i'm sorry my the doctors say my uh ears have been on obamacare for too long was that funny this it's funny when you play it after something that's not funny the news fertilizer series i believe like three of them were double tapes yeah and one was a three-way split i believe but this one is the first one that's just a split right it's a party it's a split though too right yeah this is just a split no i don't think so it
Starting point is 01:23:38 is and it's a long one it's like an hour long it's this is a c60 was that funny it's a biggie in an edition of 30 though is it really only 30 i think it might be a bit more than that with my research is showing me dave that uh it's 30 well there is an edition number on this okay wait till i'm through with you you'll be sorry you said what you said it's on a little belly band that fits around the outside which i did not bring with me comes in one of those big plastic vinyl oversized cassette boxes. It's like the big cassette boxes, but that only hold one tape. Yeah. And there's like a 24-page booklet in there, right?
Starting point is 01:24:14 Yeah. I like that. Huge. Huge. Really nice. Tell me about it. Really nice. Black and white artwork.
Starting point is 01:24:19 There's like an abstract little thing on the front. Black and white. What's in there? A lot of blank pages, huh? Yeah, well, there's room for you to write. Like, this page has goals. Like notes. Goals.
Starting point is 01:24:33 You put all the paper you wasted. I guess you can put your goals in there. He was waiting for that one. It's been a while since I... You put all the paper you wasted. Yeah, I've been waiting for that to come up all night. That's a good one. Thanks.
Starting point is 01:24:47 See? I got another one. There's another page in here with impediments. You can list impediments. Oh, look at that. That's a nice little booklet. So that's the things that are holding you back. That's the things that are holding you back.
Starting point is 01:24:57 Nothing holds me back, because I'm such a powerful person. I never let anything hold me back. This is a split between... Say it now, Dave. I think let anything hold me back. This is a split between... Say it now, Dave. I think Dwayne... Who's D. Petri? Is that Dwayne Petri? That's Petri.
Starting point is 01:25:12 I know that's the person who runs this label. D. Petri. Look at the inside artwork. I have the news fertilizer number four comp and I'd grab it if I could but it's all the way up there. Take a good look at this art, boys. It's the triple high cassette case for three tapes,
Starting point is 01:25:32 but there's only two tapes, and in the middle is this wax object. Oh, really? With keys inside of it. Whoa, whoa, whoa. I haven't felt like this since my college days when me and the boys used to stay up all night drinking rolling rock. That's like a magic eye.
Starting point is 01:25:48 It is like a magic... Hold on. Let me see what it is. You used to get fucked up on Skittles and look at magic eyes. Is this really a magic eye? No, I don't think so. I fooled you. This is how you can sort of play a trick on your friends.
Starting point is 01:26:01 All right, well, let's get into this. We're going to play what? What are we playing, Dave? All systems right, well, let's get into this. We're going to play what? What are we playing, Dave? All systems go, Michael. What's the artist? We're going to play the A side, the August Traeger side. August Traeger. Does bicephalic?
Starting point is 01:26:16 No, I don't think so. Bicephalic tapes. Bicephalic? I just found this out today, actually. We've gotten like four tapes by this project, and I'm like, who the fuck is this? He's in Flower Mountain, Food World, Nipple Stools, Pony Carpers. Nipple Stools is the one.
Starting point is 01:26:28 That's who does Nipple Stools. We've spoken of Nipple Stools on here before. Let's ask John Pyle. When you hear Nipple Stools, what do you picture in that brain of yours? I picture a mushroom or a toadstool, but the top of it looks like a nipple.
Starting point is 01:26:45 I picture somebody milking a cow. It's like an areola, and there's maybe a pink, flesh-toned frog sitting on top of it. Yeah, it's like an Irish mushroom. Yeah, the old Irish mushroom. You know what I mean? Let me jump out. I have one more question
Starting point is 01:27:01 for you. What is the difference between an Irish mushroom and a boucle? Well, a boucle is an action, and a boucle is a verb. You have to make the hole bigger than that. Irish mushrooms are now. You know what I mean? When you call them fingers, I'll call them propellers.
Starting point is 01:27:25 All right, well, let's get into this Noose Fertilizer number five on the label Objects, which is a very, very interesting label. They put out a lot of good stuff. They only have been around for about two years now, I believe. But they're definitely a label worth checking out. You should definitely check them out. Let's get into this August Trigger track
Starting point is 01:27:45 from the Noose Fertilizer 5 split with Miguel A. Garcia. Who? Miguel A. Garcia. Miguel? Here we go. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. so so Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Odd person. What an odd person. August Traeger doing some... What an odd person. What an odd person.
Starting point is 01:34:25 August Traeger doing some... What an odd person. You gotta be an odd person to make wacky sounds like that. Get out of here. Who spends their time doing that? What's making that sound, by the way? That's a weirdo thing to do. Get your life together.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Go get ITT Tech. Did ITT Tech just, like, disappear? Just seemed like it was here like, disappear? Yeah, it closed. Shout out to ITT Tech graduates who got out just in time. No, I don't think so. All right, is it my turn? Is that Joe Biden? No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:34:56 Are you serious? It sounds like Joe Biden. Let me play it again. I want to have Joe Biden on. That is the most illogical attitude. It is. But. No, I most illogical attitude. It is. No, I don't think so. Not that one.
Starting point is 01:35:09 Another one sounds like Joe Biden. No, the one where it says it feels like I was just here yesterday. That one. Just seemed like I was here yesterday. You don't know who that is? No, who is that? Are you serious? Yeah, I don't know who that is.
Starting point is 01:35:21 Who is it? Was that funny? Play it again, Joe. Just seemed like I was here yesterday. Did you blank that out of your mind? I think I did. I mean, it sounds like George Bush or Joe Biden. I mean, it's definitely George Bush.
Starting point is 01:35:37 Is it George Bush? Oh, yeah, it's definitely George Bush. Okay, there you go. All right. All right, my turn. What am I going to play? All right, I'm going to play this Jeweled Snakes tape. Hand it over, jerk.
Starting point is 01:35:48 It's called Flesh Lab on Midori. Midori number 89. A label that I believe Fletcher Pratt runs. Right? Fletcher Pratt. Yeah. Doesn't he do... He does those W games.
Starting point is 01:36:04 He does those W games. Is that the robot showing up i'm sorry dave okay cool it just cool it for a minute jesus christ can we get a reboot we're getting out of hand yeah this tape came out in addition to 50 i like the drawing on the cover because there's obviously like you know a woman here playing synthesizer and possibly singing. And then the torso of Batman next to her. The floating torso of Batman with the synthesizer. That's not Batman. I fooled you.
Starting point is 01:36:35 Angie Terrant. That's just what he does now. She was also that project The Beast. I think it was a tape on Hanson. All those Michigan people, Dilloway and Hanson. That had like, you know, all those like Michigan people. Dillaway and Nate Young and all this. It was like a super group. Oh, a super group.
Starting point is 01:36:49 It was like the, what's a good super group? Who's your favorite super group? The Justice League. John Powell, who's your favorite super group? And spanning anything. Four non-bonds. Okay, so the Justice League for Joe. They found the best non-bonds and put them all together.
Starting point is 01:37:04 They did too. Like joke all you want but they definitely did. Who did? Who's your... Wait, let's not do... Let's not do junk because he's going to say
Starting point is 01:37:11 like the Third Reich or something like that. And I'm not bringing that shit in here. We need to can it with these Nazi jokes. I don't appreciate it. Four non-bombs. Was that funny?
Starting point is 01:37:20 Okay. Well, let's get into this. I'm behaving disgracefully. The last thing I want to say about this tape i really love that it has this dark blue shell with this gold like the the label sticker in the middle here is like gold the paper's gold it's not pretty gold the paper's gold with uh the font like bleeding halloween is like the name of the font slow down hold on there you have to make the
Starting point is 01:37:45 hole bigger than that's cool yes that's stupid that's what it looks like the tapes called flesh lab it's Amadori jewel snakes it's really good we're going to get into it it's a party.
