What's up everybody? I'm Jimmy Wong.
How's it? It's Josh Lee Kwe. We're the host of the Command Zone podcast.
You've probably heard of Magic the Gathering. Whether you're a new player or a season veteran
or you used to play and want to get back into the game, you've got to check out Commander.
It's the most popular way to play Magic and for good reason.
It's everything you love about board games but with magic cards.
Deep rewarding strategies, infinite creative deck building possibilities and it's multiplayer.
So there are tons of opportunities for complex social interactions.
If you can't tell, we seriously love this game and we think you would too.
I mean, why else would we talk about it for like an hour every single week?
All right, so if you like Magic the Gathering, check us out at the Command Zone,
the premier podcast for all things Commander.
Available on Apple Podcast, Stitcher, Spotify, or anywhere podcasts are found.
What's it take to be a mentor with big brothers, big sisters?
It takes 30 minutes and a cup of coffee.
A video game, best two out of three.
It takes sharing thumbs up emojis, clapping emojis, and loaded nachos at halftime.
That's how you make an impact on a young kid's life.
So go on, share a few hours a month, because mentorship may sound huge, but the truth is, it takes little to be big.
To learn more, volunteer or donate, go to bebignow.org.
Compliments to all you queens of night magic, stroll into the stinky dragon and sip on our latest libation midnight on the town.
It's a mixture of shadow rift rosebuds, swirlings of starlight, water woven from the night sky, and shaken with invisible ice cubes.
Wait, they were just here.
Don't worry, I'll find them.
One drop of this darkly dominating drink,
and it'll feel half past heaven o'clock.
Previously, our adventures gave chase to a gruesome giggy
whilst whisking their way down the corridors of Chimira Rekeep.
Fun that bravely kept battlers at bay and B-team chanced upon a chalice in a chapel
that changed their surroundings to a charred chamber within furnace.
But now the vision has vanished and the chasing is hastening to its final chapter.
Bring over a brew and let's buckle up for this bedtime tale.
Hello everyone. Welcome to Tales from the Stinky Dragon.
I'm your dungeon master Gustavo Sorolla and I'm going to hit our four players with an arrow.
Okay.
Do you think we should just, I shouldn't say that every week?
We can just like copy and paste it from an old file.
Anyway, that's not the arrow.
No, we need different inflections every week.
I used to joke that in red versus blue, I never wanted to say yes sir again.
I was like, I've said that 3,000 times.
You can pick it up from somewhere.
That's like me and Ruby going, Ruby?
Ruby?
Ruby.
This week's arrow question is, what's one thing you like most about Natty?
Natty included.
Everyone could roll that D20.
E20 coming in.
11.
12.
7.
18.
Tov Gunther, Natty, Doug.
Once again, that question, 12 of you're leading us off, is what's one thing you like most about
Natty, Natty included?
Hello, I'm Blaine Gibson.
Gus, thank you for reintroducing the question because you know how a...
I knew what was happening.
I could see it.
The glazed over the look.
It was all there.
The signs were pointing to me being lost.
And I play Tov the male Thamatech Barbarian Level 8.
And, ooh, you know, we're going to get into this Nadi Wander, okay?
Everyone's going to focus on, oh, they're the mom and oh, they're a warlock.
But I'm about to talk about Mother.
Okay, I'm about to talk about the drag, all right?
The waist, snatched, the mug, beat, the tea.
Yes, queen.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes, other queens.
Flop Tina Boots, not my girl Nadi Wander.
I'm throwing out ones on the stage all night, all day.
I love it.
So thank you for your creativity, your uniqueness, nerve, and talent.
Snap to that, snaps.
Snaps.
Well, thank you.
I had to get all my drag race glossary terms.
I could tell.
It was like just spitting them out a mile a minute.
When you said mother at first, I thought you were talking about the computer from alien.
No, no.
That's where my brain went.
Mother has a rock.
Mom, mommy, mom, mom.
All right.
Tov, that was a flawless execution, man.
You just went through the dictionary.
That's great.
Next up to Gunther.
Gunther, that's a big act to follow.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know.
Chris Samaris here, played Gunther,
the Crook-folk male fighter.
And first verb, hello, hello, hello.
Man.
You got a frog in your throat?
I do have a frog in my throat.
It is me.
I would say first off, I did congratulations, I think are in order because I did not know that you were royalty, Nati, with your people.
That is, that is present, that you are a queen.
Drag queen.
Queen mother.
So that's congratulations on that.
But I would like to.
Wait, wait, we're not going past that.
I've been referring to myself as a drag queen for since we've known each other.
and just now you've made some sort of weird connection
that I'm the queen of my people?
Well, yes, Tolvo's saying,
referring to you directly as a queen.
You see, he doesn't listen to you,
but he does listen to me.
Gunther does not listen to women, okay.
That is not true.
He listened to Punya.
Yeah, talk to punya.
This is going in places I did not want.
What I did want to say is I think you, Natty, are such a good mother.
As someone who has abandoned their children, I respect it so much.
And it is so good and I love it.
And even when your child has pooh-pooos or barfs or whatever it is, your love is so, so powerful.
Or possession, you know, all the things.
So powerful.
I mean, yeah, yeah.
I mean, if you're around your kids, it's easier to be their parents.
I just now realize that Guntler's a deadbeat dad.
Did you ask you needed to go out for milk or cigarettes?
Yeah.
No, I told them where I was going and I hoped I will be back sooner.
A mission trip.
How many years ago was that?
It is ages but a number.
I told them where I was going, aka joining the military.
That's a lot to digest.
Yeah, I hope you bring lots of gifts back for those kids.
So many pebbles.
All right.
That is it for Gunther.
Next up, we got the queen herself, Natty Wonder.
It's John Reisinger here, voice and player of the lady in question.
Natty Wonder, drag queen, drow, warlock, mother, friend, artist.
Diva, icon.
Keep going.
All of the above.
Yeah.
And on the question of what do I like most about myself, you know, I like a lot of stuff about myself.
I like me.
I think everyone should like themselves.
I think that should be.
I like me, yeah.
Feels familiar.
Yeah.
And if I had to think about what I like about me the most, I would say this, I don't know if this is answering the question accurately,
but this is what comes to mine.
It's my upbringing is what I like most about myself.
Because I think the more that I age and go out into the world
and see people and experience other people's lives and families
and that kind of thing, I realize I was given such a fortunate upbringing
with a very close community and two loving mothers.
And, you know, I was supported from the get-go with everything I wanted to do,
whether it be a drag queen or join the army or join the army as a drag queen.
And so I think like, you know, that's probably where I find the source of my love for Gigi
is I was given so much beforehand.
And that's my favorite thing about me because it gives me, it's a real core to me that I appreciate.
Beautiful.
I feel like that's really deeply reflective.
And I think a lot of people maybe don't realize, or if people come to this,
realization like you do, Natty. It doesn't come until later in life, I feel like people
maybe take their upbringing for granted or think it's within a normal realm and it's not
until you see more of the world and experience more interaction with people that you start
to realize what was unique about your upbringing and what was different about it.
And do you know it expedites that process, Gustavo?
What's that?
Is having a kid. When you have a kid and you realize what it's like having a kid, you're like,
oh, my parents were just doing their best.
Because guess what I'm doing?
My best and my best ain't that good.
Sometimes you meet other people who have had terrible up
and they're all messed up like, you know,
Gunther and Doug.
Yeah.
Ain't that the truth, sister.
Yaws.
So yeah, there you go.
Yeah, that's a lot to digest there.
I like it, I like it, Natty.
Thank you.
Finally, last up here.
we got Doug.
Doug, last but not least.
Definitely.
Natty Wonders, number one fan.
Ooh.
But also Doug Boone, Bug Bear Artificer,
hello, present.
How's it going, everybody?
You know, I gotta say,
Natty is someone who I admire so much
because she just accepts us for who we are.
She just rolls with the punches,
even though we're just a weird little group of people.
And, you know, she accepts us.
And even though she doesn't understand sometimes
some of the things we say or do,
she just kind of smiles and nods and just, you know, she just supports us no matter what.
And, you know, I talk about math a lot and Natty, this one's for you.
If friends were percentages, you'd be 100%.
Wow.
Also, you're the kind of person who makes everything add up.
You know, I know you might not understand those references, but hopefully it's simple enough.
I was waiting to see if it was a rule of thirds kind of thing before I replied.
But yeah, I like that.
It's almost, I mean, you know, we're real people.
We ain't fictional characters in some weird person's story that he's writing in his
tiny little home.
But it's almost like that acceptance of y'all was written into my characters so that I would
be forced to play this way with y'all, despite the weirdness that y'all would bring to
our daily adventures.
And it's on that note that we wrap up this eulogy.
It commits your body to the sea.
rest in peace, Natty wonder
you were a good friend.
10 out of 10
mathematically verified.
It'd be weird if you rated people
10 out of 10.
I'm sure it's been done.
10 out of 10.
It's been done.
6 out of 10.
I mean, at this point
sad to say, but like a
Gen Z or even a Gen Alpha has
probably said something in a eulogy at this point.
You know what?
I think it'd be cool if they were a graveyard
that had like digital version
so you could like, you know,
write stuff that would live on,
at least on the internet.
Yelp for graveyards?
Yeah.
Yeah.
I bet you that already exists.
Guys, I'm going to get on the ground floor of this.
Stop recording.
We need to spend this business up.
I bet there is...
Sharks, I'm offering you 10% of my business.
Yeah.
And for that reason, I'm out.
I'll never get sick of hearing Doug say that.
Could I try giving it a gold?
Yeah, you pull out the gold piece and its eyes are fixated on it. Make me an animal handling check.
Okay, I will want to throw it. I'm going to do a inspiration die on that if I can. That was a 10.
Okay, all right.
Oh, sweet, 20.
Okay. This is your check for this room, so your dye counts up. You are now at 5.
Yay!
The creature is fixated, staring at the gold piece.
Okay, I will toss it as far away from us in the opposite direction we're heading in as possible.
You throw the gold piece in the opposite direction.
in the opposite direction the Gildelix follows it,
and you continue forging a head south.
And as you do so,
your guiding Providence sensor
begins chirping, like birdsong.
What does that mean?
A little battery.
What does my invention mean?
No, this is something that I got
from the veiled eye, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I would know what that meant
if I invented it. What does it mean?
You pull out the GPS
and in a robotic voice, it says,
And southeast to the last forest.
Roger that. On the case.
We were already going that way.
Well butter my biscuit, that's my hometown, y'all.
Y'all better put it on your Sunday best
because you're fixing to meet my mamas.
After hearing the sound of the GPS going off
and instructing you on your next destination,
the Gildilik seems somewhat spooked and takes off running.
And as it does, you know, it exits to the northwest
up to the forested area.
And as it's running off,
it bumps into some of the fallen test cubes and items on the ground
and knocks some of it into the cistern nearby.
Okay.
Flushing glass down the toilet, that's a no-no.
Well, that cistern, I believe it, makes things gold.
Yeah, sure enough, yeah, you look in and what was a golden figurine
is now a mundane piece of stone.
Oh.
Gambot, Gambat, Gambat, and Doug shoves Gambat in there.
Doug, like, elbows everyone aside, runs up and dumps Gambot in there.
My baby!
From the free throw line, Doug Boone!
And shoves Gambot into the cistern.
And yeah, after just like with a flash and after an instant,
Gambot returns to the lovable scamp you remember him as.
He's no longer gold-coded, but returns to his normal usual form.
I would say now he's so happy.
He can't lick me because he's a robot,
but he would, I think, rub his little, like, metal head on my chin over and over
because he's happy.
Oh, cute.
He's nuzzling him.
What does the brother think of this?
Oh, sister, and him, remember.
Kick from Call, Blaine Gibson.
Do you have an inspiration dive?
So give it up.
Take it away.
Oh, negative inspiration.
Negative inspiration die.
Yeah, and then as you're removing Gambot from the water,
before he's able to start nuzzling you affectionately.
Doug, you see something
in reflecting in the pool.
Could I go take a little bit of movement? Yeah.
And as you take a look, you see
the three angry heads of the chimera
staring at you from the reflection of the pool.
This guy.
Doug will do that thing where a scared cat
backs away slowly while still looking at the thing.
Do you turn sideways?
Yeah.
It's arched my backup.
Yeah.
Guys, I don't alarm you, but you look down there,
you see the chimera.
and I don't know if you could get to us from there,
but it's kind of creepy.
Doesn't it like travel through reflections?
Am I making that up?
Yes.
I believe so.
So we might want to skiddle real quick.
Dump it out.
I have a, I think I've got like a big blanket or something
from a past thing when we got it from that skull to just put over.
I don't know.
Oh, like over the water, so it's not reflecting.
Reflecting.
Yeah, I don't know.
That's smart.
That's kind of smart.
Yeah, Tov, go ahead and find that in your character sheet and remove it.
Yeah, but I'll say you spread that blanket, blanket, that blanket over the top of the cistern to try to cover up the reflection.
You know, it's not here because I think I used it to cover up that crystal eye skull, but I'm going to put my bed roll down instead because I don't need a bedroll.
That's right. You did do that. Thank you for the honesty.
Cut to us trying to get a long rest.
And it's like, Toll, for some reason, you can't get comfortable and you can't fall asleep because you know.
I can't sleep.
Well, luckily he's your alarm clock.
Okay.
You cover it up or the cistern with your bed roll,
which gets some liquid on it, turns to gold,
and begins sinking to the bottom of the cistern.
Okay.
We are still an initiative, just to remind everyone.
It was Doug who had just gone.
Up next were things that are off-screen.
I'll deal with them.
Hate that.
And then we've got Gunther and Bunnock.
We'll leave it at that.
Okay.
And then if you remember,
We were kind of doing skill checks, kind of progressing through and getting through to the next areas.
So, Gunther, just to set the stage for you, there are, well, really, realistically, there's two exits out of this room, but realistically there's one.
There's an exit to the northwest, which is where you just came from, where the grandkids were, were being the operative word there, and an exit to the south from here.
Yeah, I will run to the south.
All right.
Can you do that read again and not sound like the Macintosh text to speak from when we were kids?
I will run to the south.
I will run to the south now.
I also, I thought I would have used it, but can I use a second way in to restore some health?
No.
Can you use fighter abilities yet?
I think it was just that last session, right?
Yeah.
Oh.
Does this?
Yeah, you can now.
Yeah, yeah.
That's why I didn't use it.
Yes.
Yeah, I believe you are still weary, which persists.
Yes.
The inability to use your class skills has subsided.
Okay.
You're able to use those.
Doing that.
Yes, okay. That's a six plus eight I'm adding.
And I go south.
So the exit to the south is dark and drafty.
It opens up to a corridor with a collapsed floor with a bit of a sheer drop into an underground tunnel.
And across this collapsed corridor, you can smell the odor of wine.
That's the banquet hall that we went into a while back.
I think that that's actually specs. It's a shortcut.
Is that a Texas brand that people might not know?
I think so.
I think it's like specifically from Houston.
About total wine?
Total wine.
As someone from California did not know those existed prior.
Is there anything, I guess, opposition or thing in our way?
Yeah, lack of floor.
Small detail.
Yes.
In fact, as you, you know, lower yourself down and are making your way through this corridor,
like I said, it's real dank and still.
you notice something on the ground.
It appears to be a rather large patch of snow or frost on the ground
that begins...
It kind of tricks your eye at first.
You're like, is it moving?
And then you notice that this cold patch appears to be spreading
and stretching out in your direction.
Like, so ice is spreading or snow is spreading?
Yeah, it looks like a patch of snow on the ground.
Or ice maybe.
That's like spreading towards you.
Sleet, ash.
A lot of dandruff, perhaps.
I don't know.
So I guess can I just try and go over it?
Like, is it something I could jump over or like maybe like use my tongue to grab hold of something and swing across it?
Yeah, what kind of check do you think that would involve?
The goal here is to like make a skill check of some kind and, you know, we'll see how that plays into the countdown.
Yeah.
Which I also have running at the same time.
Acrobatics, how's that?
Acrobatics, that makes sense.
So you want to like shoot your tongue out into like the rafters, Indiana Jones style?
Yeah, yeah.
Raiders for the Lost Ark and swing across.
All right, you bust out your trusty fedora.
No, no, no, not my trusty fedora.
My eelskin hat.
Your eel skin bicorn hat.
He's got a whole chest of hats for various occasions.
Aren't you also on the brink of death at this point too?
I'm a little better now.
But yes.
My lady.
Yeah, you lash out.
Make your check.
Let's see how successful that is.
That's not bad.
Oh.
23.
Oh, that's really good.
You made a sound like I thought it was going to be bad.
No, no, it was like between a 5 and a 15, and it rolled to the 15.
Again, Gus, he's describing something good happened and made that noise.
We're working on Chris's breathing, okay?
He's getting better at it.
You managed to lash across and find your way, you find yourself on the other side of this bizarre patch of snow that's on the ground.
Gunther, are you a smart boy?
What's your intelligence?
Well, uh, nine.
Hey, Gus, what do you think?
What do you think?
It's not terrible.
Nine.
You're smart boy.
Below average.
Yeah.
Okay.
As you, after you swing across, you kind of show your party how to get through,
and you notice that instead of continuing in the direction it was,
the snow seems to be spreading back in the direction where you all are standing now.
It's coming towards us.
Yeah.
Avalanche!
Yeah, that's the one thing you want to do when you suspect an avalanche.
Scream.
Scream out.
And stomp around real loud.
You go through the dank corridor and, you know, find yourself in the banquet hall that you had been in there, right?
Had you gotten in there before?
Natty did.
Natty had.
Okay.
By herself, right?
Yeah.
I thought someone else had gone in, play a trick, but whatever.
Oh, Tov went in.
And they did like a whole switcher route or something.
That's right.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So you see a banquet hall that smells of wine and there's wooden banquet tables broken
in half by curved fangs piercing through into the ground. Golden chains of macromay design
hang and possibly sideways dangling toward the center table. All right, so Gunther, that's you.
Up next is the chimera. Ah! Kimira. Everyone except for Gunther, who's still kind of between the lab and
this corridor, you can hear some roaring and pawing coming from the room behind you and you
see the cistern being disturbed as the chimera slowly begins trying to squeeze it.
itself through the cistern and emerge into the laboratory.
Oh.
Toll, how does that make you feel?
You're up and after Tollv is the Natty and then Doug.
I hope a golden bed roll stops it.
I'm going to use the stockings of spider silk.
Is there like a roof that can cross over to get to the other side?
Yeah, it's just, it's a little, you know, this, this is like a corridor that's collapsed.
But yeah, absolutely, there's a roof you can, you can, like, crawl up the side, spider tol it, over it.
To make things move faster, could I give someone a...
ride, like, just because it's my turn and we're clearly being chased, so I want to keep things
moving.
I like that.
Yes.
And after you is Natty, then Doug, then some enemies, and then back up to Gunther.
I feel like Natty's very, not that Doug isn't, but I feel Natty's very capable of getting
over the chasm.
So, Doug, would you like to have me escort you before you get mauled to death by a chimera?
You know what?
At first I was offended by this, you were helping me out, even though you know I can figure
it out.
But you know what?
Why not?
I think this will be fun.
Uppees.
Okay, upy's.
Here we go.
And I guess I'm upside down now.
And then I just hold my arms down.
And then I grab Doug's hands.
And then we're basically making like a trapeze act.
Yeah.
And I'm walking across.
Do I have to make a check for like holding on?
And you probably also have to make a check maybe because I'm heavy.
Yeah, I'm going to, I think that this qualifies most likely as an athletics check due to the way that it's described.
Me?
I don't know, this I'm 14.
I think that's okay.
And what about you, Doug?
You as well, because you're also holding on.
Oh, no.
You can do it.
You can figure out.
That's why I like she's not so primo.
Oh, 12.
Very middling.
I think we're doing pretty good.
Good thing I'm the one just hanging.
You're trying to intercept that idea into me.
Yeah, pretty good.
Oh, wow, pretty good.
Not bad.
Wow.
Oh.
It's like when you feed someone, like a baby, some food,
And you go, mm-hmm.
Like it goes, me.
Yeah.
Wow.
Wow.
That's pretty middling.
I'll say as you're making your way over the, this patch, Tov, you can feel your grip slipping ever so slightly.
And Doug, you know, you do that thing where you're like, you'd like in like little stops and starts.
You're slowly slipping out of Toll's hand.
And at the last moment, you managed to set foot on the other side of this patch.
patch.
That's a hairy situation there.
Doug, you make me,
make me an intelligence check, please.
Gladly.
Okay.
Eight.
Okay.
That's it for Tov's turn.
Natty, you find yourself alone on what is now the far side of the patch.
How do you want to do this?
How do you want to regroup with your friends?
There's, ah, John's curiosity is getting the best of him where he's like,
He wants to know without little patches, just want to know what it is.
I'm trying to figure out how I could investigate it without.
I guess I could.
Could I just use like a mage hand to poke at it?
Yeah.
Just because I want to know.
Is that just like a can'trip for you?
It is a can'trip.
Yeah.
You reach out a mage hand and like just poke at it?
Well, I, uh, you tell me with whatever the how this stuff looks,
what would be a way to try to figure out what it is,
is like to try to grab up some of the snow or just poke a finger into it.
or pat it? I don't know.
Gus is about to turn this can trip into a cannot trip.
Your mage hand begins poking at it and grabbing at it.
And as it does so, you realize that the texture is not that of snow or ice.
But instead, it's some kind of almost like a fungus that's growing and spreading across the ground.
Do you know fungus is fun, Gus?
Wow.
Yeah, that's the first time you've heard that and know about that.
know about that.
Never heard that one.
Yeah, so it's just some kind of,
some kind of fungus.
Take an inspiration, diamond.
Oh, man.
I'm getting uncomfortable
at how cringy this is getting.
Micah says he's leaving that silence in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm uncomfortable right now.
This episode of Testimon, the Sticky Dragon,
is brought to you by Notion.
I don't want a future where every company
is just one founder and a fleet of agents.
It might be efficient,
but work has always been about more than just work.
Nothing can replace the feeling of figuring something out with your team,
and that's why I like what Notion is building.
Notion is the workspace where your team's knowledge, information, and projects all come together in one place.
And because everything lives together,
Notion can give you the answers to questions instantly, automate busy work, and keep work moving.
It's designed to strengthen teamwork, not replace it.
Teams use Notion to move faster, cut friction, and costs by consolidating tools, and stay aligned.
Everything stays connected, everyone stays aligned, and there's less busy work.
I've been using Notion for a couple of years now.
We've been using it actually here on the podcast.
We use it for all of our campaign three stuff, everything,
so that Micah and I and Ben can collaborate on the back end,
make sure we're all on the same page.
We can all share what we're working on, what the modules look like,
and in real time, keep each other updated as we're recording episodes as to what's happening.

I get it.
I'm Siaya and I live in Ice Cove.
I've made some questionable.
decisions that didn't end up the way I planned. And today, I'm still figuring it out.
Somehow things usually get worse before they get better. Apparently, that's how I roll.

Do you remember that feeling of your first critical hit? Are you one of those people who
are getting ready to start that journey? Well, I have a show for you. It's called Girls
Who Don't D&D because none of this all-female team of players has ever joined a D&D game before
or any other role-playing game.
But from learning, which dice is what, to challenging the gods themselves.
They're surrounded by a beautiful, chaotic environment
has been described as a cross between Terry Pratchett's Discworld
and Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,
and to World You Can Be Part of Two.
That's because their listeners perform pre-recorded sections
that fit into each show.
Those parts and the rest of the show sound amazing
with carefully added music and effects that bring a touch of the cinematic
to your experience.
It's kind of cool how they're complete amateurs when they started
and they really progress.
I think you can probably, you know, we can relate to that
with Tales on a Stinky Dragon starting off,
kind of as newbies and then really learning the game as we go,
I think that's a great way to approach it.
And you can join this group of unassuming Australians,
otherwise known as the girls who don't D&D
on any device that lets you stream podcast.
But I'm warning you, this one's addictive,
heartwarming, heartbreaking, and very, very funny.
What if could Natty pick up
either some or the whole fungus with the mage hand
with the intent of throwing it?
Or is it too big?
I mean, it's big, but since it's fungus,
you could, the mage hand could grab a section of it or a portion of it.
Maybe not the whole thing, but yeah, some of it.
Yeah, I was like, well, could I throw it at the cistern?
Oh, that's interesting idea.
At the chimera.
I would say that you could either have the mage hand throw it or even carry it
because the range of mage hand is like 30 feet.
And like just mush it.
Yeah.
Go and like mush it all over the cistern.
Yeah.
I don't know what's going to do, but it's the chimera's problem now.
Yeah, so you just like kind of mash it all around.
the cistern and you see the fungus itself, I can now call it fungus, uh, continue to grow and
spread around the cistern, uh, almost covering over the top, uh, growing inwards towards the chimera.
Yes. Good. Yes. Good. Fungus. Stop. We don't need any more silences. And as you're, as you're
watching it, you know, you begin dusting your hands off to turn away. Uh, you see that portions of the, of the fungus begin
turning it to solid gold.
Cool.
That's cool.
Is it still living if it's turning into solid gold or is it just like...
Go closer and find out.
Go touch it.
No, no, no.
I mean, then Natty would just like, because it's a collapsed floor...
Is the floor collapsed?
Is the ceiling collapse?
Is the fungus covering the floor?
The floor has collapsed into almost like a trench for the corridor.
And down there below, that's where the fungus is spreading out of.
Okay.
This is so boring, but could Nattie just float over the hole in the floor?
Yeah, you can do that.
As a bonus action.
I mean, just getting over.
T-Pos style?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And Natty grabs Giggy with one arm and cat and groans with the other and floats across.
Okay.
Is Giggy still raging or like, ah, ah, ah.
He's not raging.
He's just, he needs souls.
That's all.
He's outgrown the baby food that he's been getting.
And now he wants solids.
Well, it's like when you start eating meat, that's souls.
That's true.
make a, let's call it a dexterity saving throw.
Sure, why not?
Let's just do something.
I rolled a 15 plus 318.
Okay, yeah, that's good enough.
It seems like as you're floating over the fungus,
it's almost like trying to grow in your direction
and trying to reach out and grab at you,
but you're able to maneuver your way around it.
And you can just hear this like chomping of teeth
as Gigi tries to bite at it.
And within my grasp.
Yeah.
Then he starts biting your arm.
Ow.
It's love bites.
It's cute and it's aggression.
That's it for Natty.
So up next, we've got Doug.
You are on the other side of the fungus corridor,
and you find yourself at the precipice of that same banquet hall room,
which you have not seen before.
Right.
And out of this room, the only exit you see is to the southeast.
It's a door made of gilded wood.
and you, I think, have seen this door from the other side
because you did not come into the banquet hall.
Right.
You know, on the other side of this is that foyer
where you had found Rosalberry.
Gotcha.
I think we sent them away to my sister.
Did we not?
Yes.
Okay.
Could I reference my GPS to make sure we're just going the right direction?
Yes.
You take a look at your GPS and it appears, yes,
it is still pointing to the southeast from here.
It's pointing straight to that door
on the other side of the banquet hall
that's in front of you.
Could I head towards that door
but on the way just kind of do a quick scan
in the room to see if I notice anything
kind of out of the ordinary?
Yeah, since I haven't been in here yet.
Make a...
I'll leave it to you, perception or investigation check.
I will do perception.
Oh my God.
Yeah, that goal.
Seven.
With a web based off of what?
I rolled a one and I'm a plus six to my perception.
Nope, not great.
And I don't have...
you know my inspiration die for making that amazing fun gus uh for my friends so yeah i guess i'm stuck
here so really this is gus's fault okay well if we're being honest i mean if we're keeping score
which i know we all are yeah if anything i'd say it's very not fun gus yeah i would agree yeah
okay so i guess i'm i don't see anything you take a look around the room as you're quickly
making your way through and nothing especially jumps out at you you know you see this wooden banquet
that's broken in half, and the curved fang that's piercing the table into the ground,
and the golden chains of macrame design that hang sideways dangling towards the center table.
That's weird.
You make your way across the room, and as you're reaching for the door on the other side of the room,
the door works open from the other side.
Oh.
Uh-oh.
And in walks a Goliath Gold Chaser, and its head is stuck inside the rib cage of a horse-sized skeleton.
that's leaking golden coins.
And they're blocking the way.
How inconvenient.
Have we seen this Goliath before?
I guess it might be hard to tell
because there are heads in something.
No, this is Bill, Bill ribcage head man.
It's a long last name.
Yeah, yeah.
You do not recognize this specific gold chase.
I don't think you've seen this one before.
This one's got a bit of a lanky frame
wearing a flexen cravat,
and it's got golden butterfly swords in its hand.
And it's, would it be Beldr?
Do you say that?
Are you Beldr?
Its head inside the rib cage of the horse-thigh skeleton begins whipping around.
Who's saying that?
Me, Daboon.
You haven't met yet, but I've heard of you.
Are you the one they call Beldr?
Yes. How do you know that?
Well, I just heard people are looking for you and I haven't seen you yet, so, you know, I just process of elimination and all that.
They're looking for me!
Where is everyone?
Who are you?
Why are you here?
Well, we're just making our way out, actually, so no need to worry about that.
Details, you know.
Have you dealt with my compatriots?
Have you already paid the toll?
Yeah, absolutely.
You know, we met a sleepy Z and, you know, some other people and folks and stuff like that.
We paid the toll so good.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, duh.
Oh, yeah.
Interest.
Yes, yes.
If I think we pay, we overpaid.
Make me a deception check, Doug.
Oh, God, I have a negative one of deception, please.
That's right.
You can make a inspiration real quick.
Seven.
Make a fungus joke.
Make a fungus joke.
Anyways, have you ever thought about how the word fungus is like fungust?
I don't know my name guys, but it's kind of a fun little joke.
Yeah.
Right there, right?
Yeah, it's a good joke.
That is a funny one.
Knee slaper.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
For some reason, I don't think you actually paid the toll.
but perhaps we can come to an understanding.
Why don't you help me get my head out of the skeleton
and then I can let you pass?
Well, absolutely.
Here, Gunther, why don't you help me here with pulling this off?
Okay, yes, yes.
Yes, Gunther, you're so strengthened out right now.
Well, why don't all four of us actually help?
This guy's hurting a little bit.
We'll each take one part of the skeleton side
and we'll just, you know, yank it off.
No one else is asking you, why's your head stuck in the rib cage of like a giant animal?
Oh, there's someone else here? Who's that?
Hi, I'm Natty Wonder.
There's a bunch of us. Sorry, I should have mentioned that right off the top.
I got my head stuck in a skeleton while exploring the cave-in to the west of the Spilevator.
Oh.
That doesn't explain how your head gets inside.
Well, there was a cave-in, and things fell on me, and everything shifted around, and it caused.
me to get stuck.
Hey, we've all been there, all right?
All been there.
Everyone was.
And there's gold, there's gold coins
falling out of the rib cage, too?
Oh, there are?
I'm asking, that was John asking Gus.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Yes.
Oh, we should help her clean those up.
Okay, yeah, let's get this thing off a bellder.
All right, everyone.
A heave hoe, okay?
On three.
One, two, three.
Keep ho!
Everyone make a, we'll call this a group strength check.
everyone making a strength check.
Oh, no, I have disadvantage.
11.
13.
Also 13.
Ooh, 16.
You ended up the best, you're Gunther.
Wow.
You all pull on it and do your best, but the skeleton just seems to be stuck.
You hear Belder yell out.
Oh, oh, no.
Okay, Belder, here's the thing.
The chimera is hot on our tail.
Do you think we should move this somewhere else?
I mean, we want to get you out of this red cage,
but we also don't want to die.
If we're just quiet, it will go away.
Wait, is that for real?
Was that the key the whole time?
It doesn't like loud noises.
Wait, so then shouldn't we not make loud?
Whatever you do, do not shoot a gun at it.
That may be the worst thing you could possibly do to the chimera.
because it would attract its attention,
forget everything else,
and fly straight at you and attack you.
Oh.
That's good to know right now.
Wow.
Wow.
Good to know.
Good, interesting.
Yes, very.
Hindsight.
Interesting.
Yeah, that would result in, like, a lot of damage.
Yes, definitely.
Trauma.
This, this skeleton,
is there something that's stuck on specifically
or if we, like, greased it up?
Well, I'll tell you what.
Let's kind of fall back to our initiative order here.
So that is it for Doug.
Up next is the Toreus and the, well, yeah, specifically the Toreas.
You don't see them, but they are making their way through some of the areas right behind you.
They're probably getting near the Chimira,
and they're going to be trying to make their way around the chimera and the fungus.
And it's the gold chasers up next after that.
and you hear from up the hall that you just came from,
a cacophony of voices asking.
Belder! Was that you?
Belder!
It sounds like you're screaming.
Are you hurt?
I need to quiet down the chimera.
Right after you hear the gold chasers yelling,
you hear an ear-splitting roar from the chimera.
Gunther, what's the move?
This is a quiet one.
I tell you that.
Is there anything, like, if we greased up this,
Beldor, could we slip the bones off?
Yeah, you'd give that a shot.
What kind of grease do you have?
Well, is there any grease around the room?
I want to say, and I'm not trying to, like, make a big gag.
Like, I feel like Chris uses greasing things up as a solution.
Like, not, like, nine out of ten times.
This is not the first...
That or disguises.
This is not the first time in this campaign.
This is not the first time...
I mean, so many times.
It's very criss-coded.
But normally, normally, I think...
I think I would shut this down. However, specifically, the room you're in is a banquet hall with overturned table.
So I imagine there might be some leftover fat or grizzle or something.
Right.
Butter, flat.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
So, Chris, make a luck check.
Roll a D-20.
Okay.
Higher is better.
Oh, uh-huh.
Six.
Not bad.
Hey.
Hey.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, inspiration diet.
There you go.
This is the most combative inspiration ever.
Yeah, I was like, whoa, calm down.
15. There you go.
Yeah, I'll say that you know, you look around and you find a rather dirty set of plates
that have slid off the table and are on the floor that appear to have some old, disgusting pieces of very chewy meat on them
with some thick pieces of fat.
Yeah, run over and grab them and use them to try to lubricate the.
skeleton and builder to get this off.
So I'll say you specifically, yeah, make me a, I guess a slider hand check
to see if you're able to get it in all those crevices and get it all filled out.
Just a, Belter, I tell you this.
I have a relative of mine named Slippy, and you must be.
Oh, man, that's all the one.
The pilot.
You must do a barrel.
You must barrel through these bones.
I wrote a one.
You're going around the skeleton and trying to lubricate
and, you know, get into all the little nooks and crannies.
And as you're doing so, you accidentally impale a little bit of your hand
with a piece of bone that's not totally smooth and sticking out.
It causes you to pull your hand back quickly.
You take a couple points of damage.
You take two points of damage.
And then you kind of stumble backwards and manage to keep your balance.
Oh, you get the bone to...
pick with me.
But that being said, you know, it doesn't mean necessarily that you can't try to,
or that someone else can't try to remove the skeleton.
There's no further advantage granted by the leftover grease.
All right, that's Gunther.
Then it would be that.
The chimeras roaring and closing the distance.
Tov, you're up and then Natty.
I guess we got to get Beldor out of this Skellington rib cage.
So.
Belder's just, I guess, because she can't quite see and she's a Goliath.
She's like kind of standing in the door, impeding further progression.
Yeah, with the help of Gunther Greets, trademarked,
I'm going to attempt to pull the rib cage off and I'm going to say,
Belder, I need you to be very quiet because the chimera is so, so very close.
Okay, yeah, you say that and are you like holding the rib cage?
like directing Belder's attention to you as you do that.
Yeah.
Yeah, you're, you know, you're telling Belder to be very quiet.
When all of a sudden, what's up is down and what's down is up.
The entire gravity in the room fifths.
Everyone make a dexterity saving throw.
Oh, dear.
10.
I rolled a one again, Gus.
12.
I did a dirty 20.
Can I direct Belder's head to smash head first so that the rib cage will bust open when they land?
Yeah, that's kind of funny.
So the good news is that everyone except for Toll fails.
How is that?
What's the bad news?
The bad news is that if you fail,
you only take one point of damage.
Except for Gunther.
Oh.
No, points of damage because he's already too hurt and delicate.
Ooh, ten points of damage.
That's because you're older one.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm really glad I had it healed.
Yeah.
But Toll, since you got a dirty 20, we'll say that, yeah, you're able to hold onto the rib cage and angle it and redirect the force so that when you and Belder...
I didn't roll for Belder.
Let me roll a check for Belder.
These are the beldering box of a good friendship.
Belder rolled it too, so she's also going to take one point of damage from the reversing of gravity.
But you're able to redirect a lot of the force of her fall onto the rib cage, which causes it to snap.
and break apart as she hits the ceiling.
You're free.
Um, okay, I have to come clean on something.
So, you're a thom attack.
I am a secret robot.
We know.
Back when we were in combat, that was like a while ago.
It was concentration up to a minute for my overclock protocol.
But now that that's past, I have to roll a 1D4 for a side effects table.
Oh.
So I'm going to do that and then see what my new.
thing is because there's consequences for using that ability.
So roll a three, which means I have increased power consumption, take 2D6 of damage.
Okay.
Your capacitors are being overloaded as the power from the overclock protocol surges through you.
Got to make sure you maintain that voltage.
There's a certain multiplier you got to keep in the bios.
Otherwise, man, it's just not going to move.
Now you're speaking my language.
All right, I ate damage.
Okay.
Okay, Tolv.
So you managed to free Belder.
And you are all now on the ceiling.
And the path is clear to proceed.
Okay, so if it's still my turn, I'm going to say,
Elder is out of the ribcage.
We need to move very quietly because the chimera is near.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I think he can't be anything but quiet right now.
Speaking of ribcages, I think he broke one of his ribs.
Which apparently is how you know you're doing CPR, right?
According to that.
All right. Yeah, since we recorded that episode, I've taken a CPR class.
So now I know the proper procedure.
It's so funny because we put out a Stinky Dragon short, an animated short,
from Kyrh two, of Matid doing CPR on chip.
And Matid fails and rolls like a one.
And then you say that they crack a rib.
And everyone in the comments were like,
that's actually like how you actually know you're doing it right.
Yeah, every comment.
Every comment.
I love it.
When I took the CPR class, they told us several.
times that it's going to sound like you're cracking a chicken bone.
Oh my God.
And they were like, make sure you're ready for it.
And what they told us repeatedly also was, it's better to be alive with a broken
rib than dead.
Fair enough.
Yeah, like you can heal and you can recover from certain things.
So don't be afraid of hurting someone when the alternative is they die.
Yeah, yep, yep, yep, yep.
Where do you push?
It looks like Chris has to take a CPR clause.
Highly recommend it.
Okay, that is it.
We could say you can also move out of the room or begin the process of moving through the door as well, if you want to.
Okay, I'm going to do that.
I'm going to start heading towards the door quietly.
You'll only hear the sound of a xylophone with each of my footsteps.
Yeah, you creep up to the door, and on the other side you see a familiar foyer that feels frigid.
It's carved of marred but ornate stonework, dappled with gold flakes.
There's a frozen pond with smooth stone footbridge that crosses over the pond,
and mirror shards that penetrate an arched ceiling.
Is there a turnstile in the south portion of it?
I believe there was.
Yeah, the egresses to the south, there's a golden turnstile.
We didn't go through there.
I don't believe so.
And next up, we've got Natty, and after Natty is Doug.
I'm, again, I'm just so curious, but I'm not going to waste time.
So I'm going to need a moment to think, and I'm going to cast moment to think.
And I want to, I'd look through that turn style or even like climb over it to see what's on the other side just to see if that's like an exit.
Absolutely.
What you jingit about?
Well, first of all, as you approach the turnstile, the air begins to smell fresher.
And as you, you know, get right up to it, you can see that the turnstile itself leads back out of the, of Chimira Keep, back to the outside.
It's the keeps entrance.
That makes sense.
Usually turnstiles are an exeter entrance.
Well, then, since I have a moment, could I do just a quick check to see if, like, there's anything wonky about the turnstile?
Like, I don't know, a trap.
Check for traps.
Yeah.
Make a, call it an investigation check.
18, so 19.
As you're looking around, you see, you know, on the wall next to the turnstile, like a supply closet door.
And it looks like it's about to burst open with whatever's inside is about to fall out as you are walking past.
But of course, it's its moment to think it's like frozen in time.
Can I smell it?
Yeah.
You begin sniffing at the air and we'll say it smells like paint.
Paint.
Okay.
All right.
Natty will go back to her teammates that are in that little pond room and close concentration on moment to think.
And so this door is on the other side of the turnstile.
It's like right by the turnstile where you're going through.
If you're going through the turn style, you turn to like your left or your right on the inside,
on the foyer side of the turnstile.
Okay, weird.
Okay, everybody, so it seems to me like this turn style might be our fastest way out of here.
But I think that that closet there's about to burst with something that might be odorous and sticky and messy.
I don't know.
So does anybody got anything to like lock this storage closet close so we don't have to deal?
with that? Probably?
And then just for reference, after Natty
is Doug.
Like, like, is it, is it a, is it
one of those, like, storage doors that has two
handles that we could just, like, wedge something in between?
Like, lock it. Instead of, like,
two doors, it's one door with, you know, like that little
metal hook that goes into the eye.
Yeah. Okay. Then, yeah, and as you're looking
at it and describing it to the rest of the team,
that little hook finally gives away,
and that door bursts open. You aren't anywhere
near it. Okay. But, uh, that
door bursts open. You see shelves of
paint fall down and spill out onto the floor.
What color?
Well, it's kind of a mixture because it's all this different paint mixing together.
However, as you know, you're looking at the color trying to ascertain it,
these long, 15-foot-long streaks of paint turn into log-sized serpents made of
linked wooden chests.
Wait, the paint has turned into giant log-sized serpents that are made of chests.
Magic paint.
This is probably Jermithy's paint.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The painter.
Did we deal with them as the paint as, as snakes?
You didn't deal with the paint as snakes per se,
but you did deal with the paint as a portal or as turning into various things.
Okay, this paint's weird.
Why is it got to be snakes?
Okay, so the snakes are like, what, launching at us?
Yeah, they're slithering towards you, towards you, Natty.
They're coming right for you.
I shoot him with a very quiet Eldridge Blass.
Yeah, blast.
The stealthiest of attacks.
I used my silencer, which is my wig.
You put like a toilet paper roll over your finger.
That's what is.
I put my hand into my wig and then point down and shoot them.
It's also how you curl your hair.
Yeah.
I want to comment that at the exact same moment you said you were going to attach your silencer,
Micah in chat wrote, attaches silencer.
Same joke. Definitely, definitely brothers.
Ah, yeah. I think that's worthy of an inspo die, personally.
Yeah, Micah, give yourself an inspiration die.
No!
He says thanks.
Make your attack roll against...
Sure, why not? I haven't done an Eldress blast in a while. That's fun.
22. That hits.
And so I'll just roll damage for that.
Ooh, I rolled a 10 on a 10.
So that's 14 plus 3 for the extra damage from my gin.
Ginny. So it's like 17 damage.
Yeah, one of the...
the serpents stops moving, but we'll say there's two others that are still heading in your direction.
Let's use that second Eldridge Blass and roll a 15 this time. Does that beat their AC?
Yeah, that actually hits.
That's an eight plus four. I think it's just going to be a vanilla 12.
Yeah, so that remains that there's one remaining.
Giggy bites it.
Well, Gigi does need to consume souls. Consume a soul.
It might be a good way for Giggy too.
These paint snakes have souls.
Get his hands dirty.
I wasn't going to complicate it by asking that question,
but there you go, complicating it, John.
Yeah, let's not get philosophical.
I don't know.
What makes a soul?
Well, I think if they're living and moving and stuff.
Yeah.
So what makes a soul?
Can Gigi do some killing?
Yeah, go for it.
Sure, why not?
Giggy old rend.
That's Gigi's attack,
which is Gigi rolled a 17 plus 5, so 22.
Ew.
Yeah, that's good.
Probably not going to be enough damage
because it's a very low damage.
Oh, I rolled a four.
Plus three, so seven slashing damage.
There you go.
Yeah, that's not quite enough.
Yeah.
But yeah, Giggies.
So then Captain Grumbles goes in a tent.
I'm just kidding.
Next turn.
I like to think that Giggies out there
with one of those serpents in his mouth.
Like gnam, nam, nam, nam.
Just like gnawing at it.
Like a dog with a little toy in their mouth.
Just getting his mouth full of paint.
Yeah.
All right, that's it for Nettie,
which means it's Doug, then the Taurus, the gold chasers, and then Gunther.
What else is in this closet?
All of the shelves collapsed, but there were just a bunch of different containers of paint
that have all fallen onto the ground and spilled out.
We'll say there's also some brushes.
And no canvases?
No.
I wonder if I could quickly make a drawing on the floor here that we could teleport through.
That's the exit.
All we got to do is get past this injured snake and then we can go to the exit.
Oh, draw a mongoose.
Oh, draw Hira.
What the heck?
Let's skip a couple of chapters.
Right to the gates.
Draw in furnace, you coward.
Okay.
I don't even know what a mongoose looks like.
None of my books are picture books, Gunder.
Okay, I guess I'm just going to let Gigi sort that out and continue to head towards the door.
Yeah, so you're able to proceed past builder into the foyer where you see, you know, two long dead serpents and Gigi gying gnawing on one.
Then on the other side of the foyer, you see that turnstile that Natty was talking about.
Okay, could I go towards that if I have enough movement?
Yeah, you have enough movement.
You begin walking towards it.
And as you get close, right next to where that closet was, that bit of wall burst open,
and a pipe begins spewing water very forcefully into the foyer.
And out from that deluge of water pops an algae-covered sea star, the size of a wagon.
What the heck?
What is happening here?
It's Madlips!
This rust orange C-Star begins trying to grab at you with its arms, Doug.
What in the heck?
I never studied about this.
Make a dexterity saving throw.
And I'm not rolling good this session.
That's a four.
Okay, yeah, the C-Star wraps one of its tentacles around you.
So, metagame-wise, you are grappled.
And this suction cups begin adhering to your skin through your fur.
Because it's just a verbal cantrip, could I try to cast Fireball to have it like let go of me?
Yeah, you didn't act or anything, right?
You just moved.
I just moved.
Yeah, cool.
Yeah.
You could go and Pitbull.
Barball.
Now, we have made that joke before, okay?
And it's a classic, and the audience loves it.
Oh, Firebolt.
I'm sorry.
Thank you, Micah.
Firebolt.
Yeah, I was about to ask.
I was like, I don't think you have Fireball.
Fireball's a big spell.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is just a firebolt.
Okay, yeah.
Go ahead and, uh, um,
What do you need to do for that?
Let's see, Firebolt.
I need to roll my hit.
It's a 25 to hit.
Yeah, that absolutely hits.
Okay.
Hard to miss when it's hugging you.
Eight points of fire damage.
Firebolt damage.
Eight points of damage.
Yeah, you point blank rage, unleash a firebolt at this giant C star,
and it recoils in the pane, but it's still grabbing onto you very tightly.
It's not very effective against watertight.
Very good.
Okay, then Gambot's going to come out and try to help me by hitting this big starfish in its head question mark?
Yeah.
Or just that'd be like any section of it.
The center, right?
That's kind of like the head.
That's their mouth.
Right.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Go, go Gambot.
Okay, so he is going to do his force and powered rend.
That's a four plus seven.
So, twas.
Nope, that's not how math works.
Oh, my God.
11.
11 is not sufficient.
Well, the conversion's different in Canadian.
You know, the conversion.
You know, that's hard.
She rolled, she rolled a comedian 12.
What's even the exchange rate right now?
We don't know.
There's like the baker's dozen.
Right.
13.
A Canadian 11.
This is the Canadian dozen.
On 11.
Unfortunately, Canadian dozen is a miss.
Gambon isn't able to.
A Canadian doesn't.
Unless,
could I,
am I able to?
Hold on.
I guess it's not me making it so I can't do a flash of genius on Gambot.
I get, well, it's another creature.
We need to have a name for the thing that we do,
which is we don't succeed at something,
and then one of us goes, unless,
doesn't have the answer and just starts frantically searching their character sheet for an answer.
You know, in your head, I was like, I think I have something here.
A thing, but yeah, you don't maybe have all of it.
Memorized, yeah.
But I think the flash of genius is only ability checks your statement.
throw, so that wouldn't be for the attack.
Yeah, I was going to say it's when you or another creature,
you can see what a 30 feet makes an ability check
or a saving throw.
I give Gambat my inspiration dice.
Oh.
You don't have to do that.
I sit on inspiration dice all the time, so just take it.
Well, he's going to try to do that again.
Okay.
There you go.
18.
That is successful.
That hits.
Cool.
All right.
Thank you, John.
And so he does 1D8 plus 3.
Okay, that's nine points of damage.
plus three, nine.
Nine.
That is not a Canadian dozen.
She wants to prove she could do math.
Oh, guys.
Playing a character that's supposed to be good at math is more bad for me.
So, yeah, Gambot is frustrated and upset seeing you in peril, Doug.
So it runs up and smashes the C-Star right in the mouth for nine points of damage.
Good job.
Gambon.
I'm so glad you're back, buddy.
Be bobo, bo-be.
But this is a starfish that turns things into gold, and Gambot turns gold again.
No.

It's a podcast where professional improvisers and comedians play Dungeons and Dragons for the first time.
It's kind of like Lord of the Rings if everyone, you know, was an idiot.
With storytelling from an award-winning game designer and a cast made up of Second City trained improvisers,
Dum Dums and Dragons is a show that'll make you laugh and might even make you cry.
Dumb Dums and Dragons has been downloaded more than four million times,
charted as number two fiction podcast in the United States.
It's so good has been featured on the official Dungeon Dragons podcast Dragon Talk.
It's a trio of central heroes that are the zaniest, most lovable crew you can join,
featuring Quinny, a thief who broke out of prison by serving his full sentence.
Alan, a wizard who consistently forgets magic has consequences,
and their mutual friend butthole, a cleric to the goddess Moonhammer,
who the other two think he made up.
Dumb Dums and Dragons is a perfect show to start if you're curious about how D&D works,

I assume that's it for you, Doug.
Yeah, I guess it doesn't loosen its grip on me at all.
It's a little bit looser, but you are still grapple.
Matter-wise, you are still in the grapple effect.
Okay.
What are you, Doug?
What are you right now?
What's your status?
Grappled.
No, what's how, Doug?
Doug, how are you feeling right now?
I'm grappled.
There we go.
I was wondering what you were getting at.
Grapple, why are my favorite flavors of juice?
You would hear in the distance the porous closing in,
they would be somewhat engaged with the chimera.
So you hear the sounds of yelling and battle,
seemingly getting closer from the north where you were coming from.
You hear the gold chasers speaking excitedly in loud whispers as they seem to be speaking with Belder in the room just behind you.
Gunther, you're up next and after Gunther is the chimera then told.
I want to go after this starfish.
Okay.
I want to try and stab it.
Okay.
Gunther bravely runs forward and tries to free.
But not too hard.
I don't want to go through the whole starfish and stab Doug.
Gotcha.
Well, it's got other arms.
You could stab one of the other arms or like the center part.
Yeah, I saw her. Okay.
Yeah.
Nat 20.
Oh.
Yep, that hits and how.
Okay, how do that work?
So that was, I rolled a six and a seven, but then my...
Hey!
But then it would be a...
We would say the second one would be max, so it would be an eight, so add one to that, so it's 21.
Okay.
You pierce the C-Star, which seems to take quite a bit of damage.
It recoils in pain, releasing Doug from its grip, and it seems to be...
grip and it seems to be trying to retreat a little bit and remove itself from this source of danger for it.
That is what I thought.
And then I will, with my second attack, get that snake.
I was wondering if you were going to address the snake in Gigi's mouth.
All right, yeah, go for it.
Yeah, I mean, is it a danger?
Yeah, of course.
Yeah.
Wait, wait, sorry, sorry, sorry.
I have disadvantage on melee attacks, so I need to rerol that.
Oh, yeah, re-rolled that.
You're good boy for calling that out, Chris.
Good job.
Good boy.
Okay, well, does an 11 hit?
It does not.
Huh, huh, huh, huh.
All right, well.
So we'll rewind that.
Wait, wait, maybe I can use my...
I'm going to use a precision attack, so I expend one and I add it to the roll.
Okay.
An extra three.
Which would bring it up to the bare minimums you would barely hit it.
So we'll use the existing damage you rolled minus the eight.
Yeah.
So you would be 13.
points of damage instead of 21 points of damage.
I'll still say the C-Star does recoil and release Doug.
It doesn't try to run, you know, like, withdraw fully.
It's still there menacing you and it's not looking,
it's looking pretty beat up, but it's still, you know,
it's still like doing two fists at you, like a
let's if he wants to fight, yeah.
Well then shucks, I guess I'll hit it again or attempt to.
All right.
You stay away from my friend Doug.
Okay, so that's a 15 and a 27, so 15.
That hits.
Yes.
You stay away from him.
That's 10 damage.
With that, you skewer the C-Star,
and it is left unmoving on the tip of your rapier.
What kind of noise does it make when it dies, Gus?
Yeah.
Oh, no.
That explains the smell we had earlier.
And then I'm like,
I hope you are okay.
No, it's not okay.
It's dead.
No, dug.
Doug dead?
No, the C-star's dead.
Who's on first?
Gunter, my hero.
And you gambit.
Don't worry, you too. You did good.
Can Gigi consume its soul too?
This one would definitely have a soul.
There's no ambiguity about that.
So yes. So we'll deal with that on Gigi's turn.
I have a question about that. But yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah, that's fine. That's fine.
Anything else, Gunther? So you move, that might be it for you.
You moved and attacked here.
Yeah, I guess I can start making our way to the door.
Yeah, you're pretty close to it at this point if you're caught up with Doug and the C-Star.
That's it for Gunther.
It's the chimera's turn.
It's going to be engaged in combat with Torius' World.
making more noise than you so it's distracted at the moment,
which means up next is Tov, then Natty, than Doug.
Gunther, what kind of effects do you still have and, like, what's the timeline on those?
Do you know?
I'm wary, so I have disadvantage on athletics.
Weary.
Weary.
Weary.
Weary.
I'm weary.
So disadvantage on strength.
He's not cautious.
He's tired.
Yeah, yeah.
Strength and melee attacks, and I'm also have half my total HP and half of my armor class,
but those later two are.
because of my deity.
So are those conditions, you would say, Gus?
Okay.
The Slater two aren't, the weary is a condition.
How long does wary last?
Let's take off John.
How long does weary last?
How long are you going to be wary for?
One more time.
One more time.
I think if I'll double check.
I believe it was for three sessions.
Three sessions.
So the previous one, this one, and the next one.
Yeah.
Okay.
I could clear it if you want, but if you want,
I have a pretty powerful item,
but I can hold on to.
it if you think you're managing.
I can manage if y'all can deal with a weak fighter.
Let's get out of the cake.
I agree.
Sorry, Gigi was acting up.
Uh, I am going to, I'm going to start shuffling.
Okay, everybody, we're moving on the field trip.
Let's go to the turn style.
The snake's being dealt with already, right?
The only one that's still moving is in Gigi's mouth being nod at.
All right.
Fantastic, Gigi. Keep doing what you're doing.
And I'm going to start, like, heading towards the turnstile
and then just kind of clearing into the next room.
Okay, yeah. You make your way over towards in the direction of that turnstile.
And like I mentioned to Natty slash John earlier,
as you get closer, you begin to smell fresh air.
And as you approach the turnstile,
you can see that it is indeed the keeps entrance.
And, you know, it's a Gothic pointed archway
with or nately carved stonework
and gilded glyphs that are peeling off.
The golden turnstile is frozen over with ice.
As in we can't pass it or what?
It's stuck.
You can make like a strength check
or like try to hop over it.
What if I did a firebolt then melted the ice?
I'll just do a strength check
so you can rip it off.
Yeah.
Like just like,
grip it and rip it.
Grip it and rip it.
Here we go.
My God.
Here it comes.
It's a five.
It's slippery.
Not the greatest.
Oh, it's cold.
You put your hands on it and you're unable to get it to budge.
And you realize that because, oh, no, you don't sweat.
I was going to say you had sweaty hands and you were stuck to the turnstile.
But you're thomatic.
Now, maybe when I pull my hands off, it's just my robot hands and my Bjorn skin hands are stuck on.
It looks like two mittens hanging off of the turnstile.
Oh, bother.
Gross.
Okay, I'm going to hop over and I'm just going to be start ushering everybody to head this way.
So you hop over and begin like motioning towards everyone, I assume you retrieve your Bjorn skin from the turnstile and reattach it.
Yes, and then I guess because I haven't done an action really, well, I guess that was the action.
But just like checking to make sure that the next room is clear and there's no, I don't know, I guess if there's any stupid reflections for the chimera to follow through.
Make an investigation check.
Okay.
That is a...
Oh, that's a 12 for 12, a not 12.
Oh, that's a pass.
An American dozen.
Yeah, yeah.
There's no other reflective surfaces,
but the only thing that seems to be shinier reflective
is some of those gilded glyphs
that are peeling off here in this archway.
And as you look at them, you can see that
there were words here,
but they were written in celestial.
Oh, is it like a mad libs?
Can I fill in the blanks?
Do you speak Celestia?
I don't speak Celestial.
If you spoke Celestial, maybe you could.
You could try to figure it out.
I do.
Yeah, I mean, I guess if you guys want to hit that on your turns, go nuts.
But, I mean, I'm just like, I'm really just trying to get everybody to move out.
Sure.
Sounds good.
Up next is Natty, then Doug.
I don't know if you want to resolve Giggy before Natty or how you want to approach that since.
Sure.
How about Giggy finishes off this snake?
Finish him!
With another rend.
That's a 13 plus I've closed his thing.
I don't know what his rent is. It's plus five. So it's 18. I'm assuming that's a hit.
Successful. He's a D4, which is a two plus three is five damage. Yeah, the snake stops moving and is
is dead in Giggy's mouth. Okay. Oh, is this being greedy? Can Gigi just consume all their
souls, those three snakes and the starfish? Is that greedy? You can do it. Remember, we had a
table for additional souls. So a bare minimum, Gigi needs one, but additional ones are,
beneficial?
John's no stranger to XP farming,
so I think that's what's kicking in right now.
I think the question is whether or not these,
we have to revisit,
is whether or not these snakes have souls.
How about just the starfish,
so as not to have to resolve
whether or not animated paint has a soul?
Yeah, let's do that.
That's fine, so he's got his one.
He's able to consume that and get his soul quota
taken care of.
Yeah.
So, and I'm just curious,
So how does the soul thing, is it have to have died recently?
Yes.
Yeah, it has to be fresh.
There's like a time limit on it, right?
Or something like that.
I think I can look it up, but it's just like fresh, like freshly dead.
Okay.
Then Nettie will proceed over the turnstile.
Is it stuck, the frozen thing?
Or is it, can I just go through the turnstile?
It's got a hop over it, we'll say.
Okay, I'll hop over it.
Like someone not paying the subway.
Noddy.
Yeah.
Yeah, you hop over it.
and catch up with Toll, who's on the other side.
So you two are now basically on the outside of Chimira Keep.
And we can just, is there more to resolve outside this keep,
or can we just all come through?
No, I think this is kind of the goal to leave Chimera Keep.
So, yeah, you are, you're safe, you're on base.
Okay, can we, is that what everyone else is going to do?
Yes.
Barbara?
Yes, yes, absolutely, yeah.
Cool.
Frolicking, we're free, we.
All right, so is that it for you, Natty?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay, so in that case, Doug, you're up.
Right. Well, we're all leaving, right?
Yes.
Yep.
So what do we see when we go through?
So Doug approaches and hops over the turnstile as well to reunite with everyone?
Yes, absolutely.
I'm just going to wait to describe the next step until everyone's there.
Oh, okay.
So, yeah, Doug, you hop over the turnstile and reunite with Toll and Natty who are currently out there.
Before I do that, I do want to just kick that starfish.
Give it a little kick.
The carcass?
Yeah, Starfish.
Yeah.
The carcass of the starfish?
Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Starfish carcass.
Starfish carfice.
You kick the soulless remaining flesh of the starfish.
Yeah, suck it.
And yeah, you hop over the turnstile and reunite with Tolland.
Then trying to look cool as Doug hops over the turnstile slips and smacks his head.
And I will follow.
And Gunther, you follow as well.
Okay.
Okay, so everyone is out.
You are clear.
You see behind you the outline of Chimira Keep where you, you've had to have.
had many adventures together.
The GPS once again chimes up,
providing you direction, Doug, guiding you to your next location.
Can you have to look back for Budlap?
You look back and you don't see Bunlap per se.
You just see the outline of the giant keep
and you can hear various sounds of the notorious
and the Gold Chasers and the chimera
all engaged in various combat.
And then you hear karaoke.
What?
As a party.
Should we go back in?
Firebolt.
I know we're being chased, but is there anything I can do to, I don't know, I guess, leave a message for Bunlap?
You tell me.
Can't leave it?
All right, I want to leave a message for Bunlap in Abyssal.
Okay.
Because our village taught us abysal, so it's less people know it.
Yeah.
All right?
And telling what's direction, where we're headed.
Okay.
Because I know he will make it out.
I know he will.
Bunlap's a resourceful dude.
I really hope he does.
Me too.
Can you read out loud in Abisel?
what that note says.
Yeah.
Croak and broke,
pick on hook ye.
Oh, yeah.
The last forest, of course.
Yeah, that's right.
You do remember, yeah.
You stole a message for Bunlap.
Is there anywhere specific you stick it,
like in one of the stones
or just written on the wall?
Somewhere where he would see it,
like when you're exiting,
that would be visible.
Okay.
It would say you write it on the wall or something?
Sure.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, you write it on the wall there
in Abyssal for Bunlap to find.
Yeah, so you are out of the keep.
Your instruction from the GPS is to make your way to the last forest.
Team leader Doug?
Question mark?
Oh, still.
Okay, yeah.
What are your orders?
What's the plan here?
What's the move?
I mean, I guess we're not going to wait for Bunlap or...
Can we wait for Bunlap?
Is that an option?
I just.
I mean, we probably should get out of here, but we'll make sure he gets that note and knows where to come.
They wouldn't have a way to communicate.
I only have...
Didn't you just read leave him?
a note, isn't that your way of communicating with him?
Well, I guess I mean more than a way that's like with your mind.
I had telepathic utterance, but I think I could only do that within 60 feet.
I wonder, well, I was gonna say, maybe we could use a deity to help us communicate, but your deity sucks.
You could also, I hate to interject my own opinion.
I normally don't ever do that.
Well, I try not to do it, I think.
But you could also, if you wanted to, set up camp and do like a short rest or a long rest and wait,
but that's totally up to you.
That is a good idea.
You know, as team leader, I'm going to say we should set up camp and do a long, long rest.
Can we maybe get some distance from the keep just a little bit?
We can still see it, but we're not like at like chimera chomping distance.
Make sure we're not near any like stillwater ponds or anything reflective or anything.
I'll also modify that note.
Never mind, we are now just set the hemp over that way.
There's just arrows and then he draws them into the sand.
X marks the spot.
So we're going to modify this a little bit, short rests and long rest
if this will affect your decision-making process.
So we're going to call it a short rest if you're camping outside
and there's like a chance of an encounter.
We call it a long rest if you're able to find a place to fortify your camp
or find shelter of some kind.
I would like to find a place to long rest, so could we start?
scouting for that?
Yeah, you can either, like,
fortify a camp or, like,
you're talking about scout
and try to find a place.
So, yeah, if you want to try to scout
and find a place,
you can make, like, a survival check
and see if you're able to find
a suitable location here nearby.
Right.
I'll throw it on a survival role.
Is it all of us or just...
Let's call it a group survival check.
Okay.
Okay.
I rolled an 18.
17.
19.
18.
That's probably our best
cumulative roles we've ever done.
Yeah, that's really good.
We survived. I think we get the totem or whatever the hell.
You look around a bit and in a bit of a small hillside near Chimira Keep, still with an eye line of it,
you find a barrow that you're able to use for shelter.
You look around inside and inside there is a stone sarcophagus for a tall person and an old,
ashy campfire. So obviously this has been used at some point for camp it by someone.
I'll say it. What's a barrow? Thank you.
a small hill, oh, like a small cave or a small dugout area in the side of a hill.
All right.
I'm going to look up the actual definition.
Yeah, an ancient burial mound made of earth and stones.
Okay.
I didn't realize it was a burial mound.
So we're grave robbing here.
Yeah, and the sarcophagus, this place is not going to be haunted whatsoever.
Is there any fungus on the sarcophagus?
There is no fungus.
All right, so you're going to make a camp here?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You begin setting up your camp, and much to your surprise net,
Captain Grumbles, rips the lid off of the sarcophagus.
What?
And begins tossing things out from inside of it and then closes the lid on it to go to sleep.
Incredible.
Oh my God.
I give it a little pat.
What did he toss out?
A body.
Strangely, there was no body inside.
There was just bits of wet treasure.
You know, as he's opening it and throwing things out, you see that there's no corpse and the stone sarcophagus has a gilded interior.
The things he scoop out include a wooden ring that's carved into a knot pattern,
a seafone green crystal statuette of the Sea Drinker,
a potion, a silver ring with miniature aquamarine.
Can we inspect these?
Yeah.
There's a lot of random items.
Yeah, is there one specific you want to inspect?
I'll take a look at the Sea Drinker statue thing.
I guess one of the rings?
I'll take the either silver or the wooden one.
Yeah, which one?
Wooden.
Yeah, you take a look, and it's a very,
finely carved wooden ring that's like two pieces of, well, it's one piece of wood that's carved into two pieces that are seemingly knotted together.
You know, it's not made out of a like a fancy material like a precious metal, but it's very finely carved wood.
And as you're handling it, you realize that all of the clothes you're wearing are now sopping wet.
Oh.
Oh.
It's a wet ring?
It's a ring of wet to make you wet?
Well.
Perhaps, you know, with the, I can't answer that specifically, but the, uh, you know, the, uh,
you know, the ring with the craftsmanship and the design in it, you think perhaps a sailor made it.
I wonder what the purpose of that would be.
Oh, what's the purpose of any ring?
I feel like that would come in handy if you were like traveling the desert or something.
Yeah, I think so, too.
That's a good point.
Could Doug look at the silver ring?
Yeah, Doug, you go over, take a look and it's a...
Oh, by the way, Chris, that ring is worth like one gold piece.
Yeah, but does it make me what?
Just letting you know.
You gotta stop asking.
Sorry.
Yeah, my...
That's just like...
Is it making me full of liquid?
You are wet.
Your clothes are wet.
Doug, you go and take a look at the silver ring,
and it's got a miniature piece of aqua marine inlaid in it.
And as you're examining it,
you too, all of your clothes and everything you're wearing
turn wet as well.
What about my fur?
Yeah, it's wet.
What would be the alternative?
Just my clothes.
Oh, just show us.
It's like dry fur, wet skin.
I don't understand.
It must be something enchanted or.
the sea drinker must be doing something here.
It must be, I think, related.
Tov, do you know anything about these?
Have you seen these before?
Do I?
Can I do like a history check or anything?
Yeah, make a religion check with advantage.
14 and an 8.
So 14.
I mean, you know, specifically you see that there is a, you know, a green crystal
statuette of the sea drinker.
And you know that things being entirely wet like this,
this is very sea drinker coated.
This is very much like in line with.
followers of the sea drinker.
Guys, it's giving
sea drinker. I don't know
how to say it. Does the
statuette thing, does that
have any qualities or do anything?
It is just a seafone green crystal
statuette of the sea drinker. It's very finely
made. It would probably be worth about 50
gold pieces. Your silver ring dug
is probably worth about 40 by the way. I don't know if I said
that. And then yeah, as you're handling
the statuette, total of
your clothes also become soaked
and soggy and wet.
If I were to attach that to my shield, does it still have the wetness effect?
Because I kind of want to hold on to it.
You know, in like modern games where they have little charms or little bottleheads that you can attach to your weapons?
Like, I just kind of want that on my shield.
You want to slot it in?
Like, Materia.
It's a customizable.
He wants it?
Cosmetic.
Cosmetic.
That's the word.
Yeah.
You know, like in cars, you can have the little hula lady that's like a bobblehead kind of thing.
I want that, but the sea drinker.
We'll say yes, sure, because I like what you're going for.
That'd be awesome.
You're able to, like, fasten it and attach it to the top of your shield.
Cute.
Like a hood ornament.
I'm going to add Sea Drinker hood ornament.
I want art of that right now.
You will forget what that is.
Never.
Right?
Episode 51 next to it.
When you ask me, I know where to look.
And additionally, the only other thing that you didn't investigate, there was a potion as well that Captain Grubbles throughout.
Sure.
Natty.
I'll pick it, I'll pick it up.
I'll pick it up.
You pick it up, and again, your clothes also become wet and soggy,
but you do recognize this as a potion of healing.
Okay.
I'll, uh, I'll pocket that.
Mm-hmm.
In a wet pocket.
Wet pocket.
All right.
Long rest?
Yeah, go ahead and mark off your long rest.
Thank you.
While we nap or sleep, can I, can I try and reach out to a world or follow up?
Just reach out, touch base, check in, you know?
Can I hit them up?
Gluten for punishment.
Slide into those DMs?
Yeah.
Hey, do you want anything?
more for me, I don't know, more HP.
Stats, I can just lower all of my dexterity and strength, if you would like.
Yeah, how do you do that, Gunther?
I will burrow under the burrow.
Burrow in the barrow.
And then make a prayer.
And hold the shield, like as a, like, hold it up like an offering kind of thing.
Sure.
You hold the shield close to you, and the Wilder Shield is a flower-shaped shield made of
fiery obsidian iron, which is a combination of,
obsidian and iron. You know, you know this of course, Gunther, and the reason you're holding it
close is, you know, it was granted to your people by the Wilderflower for protection. You
hold it tight and begin thinking of the Wilder Flower, reaching out, trying to commune with her.
Is there a specific prayer or anything, any like cliff notes? Like, what are you trying to hit in your
prayer here?
Wilder Flower, me and Bunlap have done it. We have gotten the shield and we are here for you.
And I'm here for you and I wish that you would tell me your wishes.
Can I ask for an editorial cut to after he says that?
Cut to how we hear it, which is just this muffled voice underneath the phone.
Yeah, then before you, you see a youthful humanoid flower burning with flame petals
sprout up from the ground and appear in front of you.
Her back turned, arms crossed.
Oh, my God.
I'm here.
We have got, we've got the shield back and we are.
Bunnap will be here soon.
You have the shield?
She turns around and looks at you.
Yes, it's for you.
I don't know.
What about Bunlap?
Did he do this?
Yes, he did, but we did it together as a team.
And where is he now?
He's, he's on, I'm waiting for him to return.
He is, he is.
still escaping.
Hmm.
Well,
you've at least done this point all right,
so I'll grant you your abilities back as they were.
Oh, thank you.
You're not done, Gunther.
You and Bunlap need to bring this back to the village.
We will.
We will.
Do not worry.
I promise.
Don't mess this up.
I will not, I promise.
And with a proof, he disappears.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Holt comes in and starts stamping on the ground where the flower fire was.
See, guys, I can come out.
Guys, I told you everything is good now.
Look, I feel so much better.
Cut to the black screen with white text.
Everything is not good right now.
See, the wilder flowers are very, very powerful.
Good, see?
Yes, yes.
And how to go?
How'd your taco?
It was good. Very good. I feel back to full strength and they're proud and I will must return this.
Me and Bunnap return to our village. Cannot wait.
Perfect. So any word on Bunnap? Is he back? Is he back yet?
I don't know. I sure he will be back any moment.
Because we've taken a long rest and he's still not back.
Yeah, I think now this probably happened right before the long rest. I say this is probably a good segue for the long rest.
And you can see if you see any sign of Bunlap at the end of your rest.
and the night passes uneventful,
or I should say the rest passes uneventfully.
Where's my bed roll?
I was waiting for it.
And, however, at the end of your rest,
Bunlap does not return.
However, in the distance you see a bird flying towards you.
A raven draws closer and begins circling
and plops down in the center of your camp
with a message attached to it.
Ooh, who's it from? Who is it from?
So, Tolfi, you grab it and take a look at it?
Yeah.
I try to do a little bit of exposure therapy
to Gunther.
Like, you see Gunther?
This is a bird.
How friendly.
Oh, give it to pet.
Yes.
I do not trust.
Careful.
Gah!
Gah!
Yeah, make an animal handling check, Gunther.
Okay.
Is it to stab it?
Oh, nice.
The exposure therapy seems to work a little bit.
You're not quite as nervous around the bird.
You know, being close to it and seeing how it moves,
Maybe you're not necessarily copacetic with them,
but maybe you see their vulnerabilities and how they move and how you can...
Right, how you can better manage them.
We're not going to kill the bird, Gunther.
The birds are friends, Gunther.
But yeah, so I assume you let the bird go
and turn your attention to the message they're told.
Yes.
You unfurled a message.
It looks like it's a message to you, Toll.
Oh, maybe a birthday postcard.
It says, return to...
sender.
Recipient not found.
Oh, God.
Is it from, it was to Elva, I'm assuming?
Yeah.
Okay.
It's the message you sent to Elva.
So, guys, I...
Which messages you sent to Elva?
I think I was telling them that I found At her, right?
Did you lose your sibling again?
Shush down.
Okay, so I think what this means, and I had a fear of this because when we were all talking over
the campfire and sharing our experience.
One of you guys mentioned seeing Laskil in Undar,
and they were, unfortunately, it seems, killed.
Last we saw Laskill, I think that they might have been traveling with Elva.
Is that correct?
Well, we do not know.
They just see lost their arm, but they might still be...
Oh, but either way, I think that I thought that this might happen,
but I think Elva in Laskill have definitely been captured or something.
So just for clarity, Elva went to Tropicairn Island to follow up on a lead about a potential sibling there.
Okay.
But Laskeld did not.
Last year went elsewhere?
Correct.
Okay.
So Tropicairn was a dangerous endeavor for them.
It was.
If I look at the map, not the map, but like kind of the GPS and knowing the rough lay of the land, is Tropicarene anywhere near where we're heading?
Is that something that is a potential location?
So Tropicairn Island is way to far to the west of Endridge Bay.
You all went east from there, which brings, is a nice segue, actually, to say that there's another message on this Raven.
To Doug.
What?
Two for one.
Aren't birds amazing?
There's actually more.
There's a message for everyone here.
What the heck?
What is the devilry?
Doug, you see one.
It says to be team, team leader.
That guy says me.
Doug.
Yeah.
Urgent. Fort Endridge has been overrun.
Heavy casualties. Remaining forces have retreated west to Endrich Bay.
Godspeed, and it's signed Sergeant Steeleye.
Oh, dear.
This is a bad bird. Wow, all bad news. We're two for four.
He pulled in multiple directions.
That's why I told you they were bad.
Gunther, there's a message for you as well.
What does it say?
Punea died.
No.
Oh my God.
Ha!
I open it up and it just says ca.
It's a message from your aunt Shannon.
She's offering to reforge your father's blade with the family discount.
What?
All you have to do is send the blade back to the untamed flame forge
along with any other materials or metals you wish to forge into the blade.
It'll take 24 hours to forge.
It's pretty good turnaround.
Did you have prime membership?
Yes.
So how do I do that?
guess you can do a return here
or return message with the raven
anyone can actually send a letter to anyone here
with the raven as long as it's here
all right I'll just store it here in this
raven's chest hot
godly
and then the final
message is for Natty
it's from Duke
from Troop Troop inquiring about the next
verse in your song and negotiating about
price oh crud
oh my gosh
all these like super serious messages
and dire situations.
But at least Nadie got their head.
I think that this is the launching of their career.
Yeah.
Do I have to resolve that right now?
You can sleep on it.
You can wait a little bit.
We're going to forget about it.
You know what?
I'll be sure to send them...
Well, I'll say this is John,
because I'll do it next episode.
I'll send them a message next episode.
So you're returning your father's sword, the rapier?
Is that your primary weapon?
Yeah.
So what are you going to do as a backup?
He's got a gun.
I got a gun.
Yeah.
God.
Do you want to borrow a javelin?
A couple of javelins.
I have some.
I could think of javelin.
I so have...
He's got a shield.
Yeah, I have a shield and some little weapons.
I had the war pick.
Hey.
For this...
So I had that, like, war pick and stuff.
That's, I assume, is made of metal.
Like, can I just, like, give everything magical I have?
You can try it and see what, like, see what happens.
Okay.
I'm just going to throw it all in.
It just comes back, like, Breath of the Wild is, like, mush,
because he didn't send the right combat.
combination of stuff.
I guess if you're gonna send anything, let us know, like verbalize it.
So we can.
All right.
Here's what we got.
We got a wafting warp pick, which I think makes things hot and steamy.
We got a trippy orange swirly rock that made it.
You trip out, you know?
Oh, oh.
You got that here in Chimera Cape.
I got a bunch of those.
So I'm going to give one of those just because, you know.
Gotcha.
See what she comes up with.
I thought you meant physically, like, trip and fall.
Oh, oh, yeah.
And then the sword itself is the Frostblade rapier,
which already has, like, an ice attack to it.
And then I also have, it also has the goat eye thing, or goat tooth.
Goat tooth, that's right, from the scapegoat, right?
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
And I got that jewelers loop, which I don't think is actually magical,
but it's precious metal.
And then, and then, uh...
I don't like this episode of hoarders.
Well, I'm getting rid of all my stuff.
I'm unloading.
Okay, so you're just going to send like a grab bag of things that you value and try to see what Shannon's able to do with it.
Yeah.
Is there anything you're hoping to get out of this?
Or just trying to see, you just want to see what shakes out?
So it's got frost powers, and then that waft and war pick, I think, does hot power.
So it'd be cool to be able to, like, if you could do both.
Okay.
And I got this wooden ring, it makes you wet.
Are you sending that to?
No.
Okay.
So, uh, Gunther's.
gathers up his materials.
And I guess you all would, I'm asking Doug here,
would want to continue your march to the last forest?
That's right. Yes, indeed.
You begin traveling in the direction guided by the GPS towards the last forest.
Do we leave a note for Bunnap? I'm sorry.
Then I go back and then I, never mind we are actually going here.
Hurry.
You keep scratching the lines off.
And as you, you know, there are dark storm clouds that linger overhead
as you make your way towards the last forest.
And as you approached the last forest, Natty, do you have any memories about the first time you bought something at the market?
Oh, the first time I bought something at the market, it was my mama just gave me some money to go pick up some stuff for the temple.
And they did the kind of thing that parents will do sometimes where they're like, okay, the change is yours to then do what you want with.
And I did what any kid would do, and I bought myself some chocolates.
but they were special kind of chocolates
that had like these little
crunchy jewels in them
so they were a little bedazzled
I was drawn to the
I was drawn to bedazzle things from an early age
explains a lot
that sounds like there would be a good memory
and then yeah as you walk in
it seems very normal at first
but of course it's like I said
there's stark storm clouds it's pitch blackout
and there's boisterous music playing
amongst technicolored trees
and flamboyant market stalls
but as you make your way
into the marketplace, you notice the music is drowning out pained moans.
The drought vendor's bodies are mutated with contorted faces.
Out from behind the trees and stalls, slink grotesque Ungarians.

I was a vegetarian for a long time as a little kid because I could not stand the effort of chewing meat.
The effort?
Yeah.
I wasn't vegetarian, but I could, like, like, steak or chicken or pork or anything like that?
I was like, no.
I don't like chewing it.
Yeah, it was like, like, it would make my jaw tired.
I guess, like, as a little kid, like your jaw muscles aren't, you know, developed.
Yeah, I was like, oh, yeah, chewing meat's hard.
I'm just going to stick to vegetables.
You're so sickly and weak that you couldn't even.
Look at me.
Look at me.
Look at me.
I'm saying I was the same.
I'm saying I was the same.
Mommy, my jaw hurts for eating this day.
