Starting point is 00:00:22 A sticky dragonpot.com slash gumgum. Calculating route to avoid seeing poverty. Turn left to bypass the unhoused youth sleeping on the street. Then keep right to skip by the lines of people waiting for food. Steer clear of the crowded shelter turning people away, then take the next exit. Let's stop looking away and get in the way of rising poverty. Your donations help the United Way fight poverty in thousands of ways, like providing food, shelter, and crisis prevention.

Kindest regards, all you rockshosses, infiltrate the stinky dragon and swallow our latest swill, meal with the devil. It's a mixture of dried chameleon scales, larva disguised as lavender buds, a pail full of baleful
Starting point is 00:02:02 water, and topped with a backwards handful of hellish honey. One mouthful of this manipulative mixer and you'll feel too full to feast on flesh. Previously our adventurers discussed deeds with a genderbeder vendor on what disaster fell upon Shady Pines Hollow. After dodging demonic flesh warpers, they dueled with dredges defending a deathbox doorway. Finally, they delve down into downtown only to find it even more decimated and dominated than previously deduced. Dry yourself a dram and let's dive into the distinct drama. Hello, everyone. Welcome to Tales on the Stinky Dragon. I'm your Dungeon Master Gustavo Sorolla, and I'm going to hit our four players with an arrow.
Starting point is 00:02:57 No response. Okay. If the bartender made a drink based on you, like cocktail, coffee, tea, what ingredients would it contain? What would it taste like? And what would be its name? And that's submitted by Crooked Wolf. Sometimes, you know, the yes and is, is willing, but the yes and is weak. You know? Oh, it's a, it's a, yeah, I got you.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I got you. I know the week, yes and. It's just one of them Mondays, Gus. I rolled the two. Two, it's not Monday. Two from Doug. Seven from Natty. I always respond to him shooting an arrow.
Starting point is 00:03:36 So I was going to be quiet this time. Oh, no, I was a, no way did. This was me confessing. But like, that was like, deer in the headlights. Oh, yeah, Gus is about to hit us with that little joke. And we should have a rebuttal and is like, Brain, do something. Brain, do something. Say something.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Nah. T-G-I-M. What do we have? What do we have? What do we have about here? Natty got a seven. 18. 13.
Starting point is 00:04:00 13. So 18, 13, 7-2. If I recall that properly. Do I remember names? No. I remember numbers because I'm Gus. 18. Europe.
Starting point is 00:04:09 Blaine? Europe? Okay, hello, it's me, it's Blaine. I'm a little off today, but we're gonna, hey, I got a full thing of coffee, we're ready to go. And you who I play Tov, I am a level eight, Thumbetech barbarian. They still haven't let me level up yet. They say I'm too strong. And, oh, come on into the stinky dragon.
Starting point is 00:04:30 today's luscious liquid is pinzoil high mileage premium octane 9194 gasoline mixed with
Starting point is 00:04:42 press tone anti-freeze coolant and I'm calling it Thama technically this is a drink because it's liquid yes Thoma technically it's a drink
Starting point is 00:04:54 because it's a liquid It was right after tongue Yes Every liquid is a drink Yes And I would not recommend my organics friends to drink this. But, oh, it gets me going. Oh, it's like coffee.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I'm going to take coffee right now because I need it. It reminds me there's a joke I always found funny in Futurama where Bender's eating robot food and trying to get fry to eat it. And fries like, no, that's robot food. I can't eat that. It's like on fire and oil. And it's just like nothing a person should eat. I think one of the greatest gifts I gave to myself was the day.
Starting point is 00:05:29 that I gave myself permission to no longer try to impress the, or act like either impress or act like an adult to the mechanics at the oil-changing facility when they asked me questions about like, what oil do you use? And I just went, you know what? Be honest with them. And now I just go, I don't know what should I use.
Starting point is 00:05:51 I'm a graphic designer. That's where they rack up your bill by about 50 bucks. And they say, these filters need changing, baby. That I learned to say mostly no to and just take notes myself of like when timing of stuff but you know and the internet has helped you know it's like I do Googling
Starting point is 00:06:08 before I go to the mechanic it's good to find a guy like a guy like your mechanic guy you know you're like I know this he's not going to mess me up it's true I think once eventually one day we'll all be driving affordable EVs and I won't have to worry about it anymore it'll be a thing of the past
Starting point is 00:06:25 that's a good joke You know what? You can just do what I do and just get rid of your car. Did you get rid of it? Do you get rid of that hunk of junk? No. You liar! I'm in the process of getting rid of it.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Good. Yeah. I'll tell my kids that. Hey, kids, we're getting rid of the car. Better start walking now. Yeah. All right. Toll, thank you for that drink.
Starting point is 00:06:50 I hope I never have to imbue. Next up, we got Gunther with a 13. Hi, I'm Krista. something like come through the croak folk fighter
Starting point is 00:06:59 and what a treat I have for you today I would have treat for you today
Starting point is 00:07:07 I have a delicious he says that to someone tied to a chair what a treat I have no
Starting point is 00:07:14 no you it is delicious because first you will put in it
Starting point is 00:07:21 it will be a boba like little little frog eggs and then and then you're going to put some coffee in it because it will get you jumping. Oh, okay. And then to add some, some, a little spice and nice, you're going to add some barrel-aged scotch.
Starting point is 00:07:42 It's going to be coffee and scotch and boba. And let me tell you what it will be called. Okay. The hop scotch. That's not bad. That's not bad. You know what, Chris, I like it. And that could be a real drink.
Starting point is 00:07:56 It really could be. Maybe not the boba. So the disturbing thing to me about this drink is you said the boba is tadpole eggs. So is Gunther a cannibal? No, no. I know. Tadpole eggs. Like boba is representative of it, you know.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Oh, okay. I thought you were saying tadpole eggs as a form of boba. Yeah. Okay. Listen, Gus. If you produced like a hundred eggs and you didn't want any more kids, you got to get rid of them somehow. Blaine is dying.
Starting point is 00:08:28 I'm so glad this is not a video podcast right now. What are we talking about? I watched a video of chickens eating scrambled eggs recently. It was pretty funny. What the hell, dude? No. Oh my God. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Did they like it? Yeah, they liked it. They were crazy. Where do we go from there? We go to John with a seven. Hi, I'm John Reisinger. I'm here to make everyone. uncomfortable and also play Natty Wonder
Starting point is 00:08:57 who is a drow warlike drag queen, mother of the bringer of the apocalypse and caretaker of, guardian, guardian of Captain Grumbles. Of the galaxy. Guardian of the galaxy. That's a great term. Someone should use it sometime. And I'm definitely not as clever as some of my
Starting point is 00:09:15 compatriots with their wordplay and such. But I'm impressed with the idea of like coming up with the drink, I love tea. You know me. I'm a southern girl. I'm a southern girl, also known as I come from underground. Clark it. Spill that tea. And I'm also musically inclined. So I would want to create a tea that would help your throat, you know, in order to perform better. And to not have like, you know, sorry, gun throw, I'm about to make a reference, but this is just an idiom. It's when you have a frog in your throat. You know?
Starting point is 00:09:56 I thought he was going to, what'd you call me? And so if pressed, I would call this special drink croak coat is what I would call it. Oh, that's clever. Are you sure you wouldn't call it Natty? Oh. Even see, I'm surrounded by better people and that's how it should be. Natty's croak coat. There you go.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Croat coat. Just put that together. Natty's croak coat. It's a tongue twister. I have to say of the various names and brands that are out there, throat coat is the worst name for a product. Why? It says what it does.
Starting point is 00:10:34 It says what it does. You got a throat that feels like it's on fire and it gets coated with a soothing liquid. A little jacket you put around your neck. I will say, Gus, I don't know if you're like me. Every time I hear throat coat or think of throat coat tea, I think of that episode of The Simpsons where Homer is wanting to eat the hot chili and hot peppers. and he drinks candle wax so that he could swallow it whole.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Nice. Hey, mister, you don't want to drink a candle. Wow. Yeah, I think of, that's exactly what I think about. And I think about what a weird Ralph Wiggum interaction that is. That's an out-of-character Ralph Wiggum moment there. Yeah, why is he being smart elves and what's happening? Right.
Starting point is 00:11:13 It's weird that they placed him there. Anyway. You can check out more of that conversation on our Patreon where we have a Simpsons recap podcast with Barbara You stole the words right out of my mouth. You're right out of my throat. John, did you, did we, let's get an ingredient. I don't know if we got an ingredient out of your.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Oh, what will go in it. Well, yeah, let's just go with what you guys would say, and it would be, you know, part of it would be the base of the tea would be wax. Yeah, no, it would just be wax on the bottom. And that would just be the, like, it would just be done down there in the bottom of it, you know? A tea? Yeah. Is it, served, is it be hot?
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah. Well, it has to be. Yeah. So that when you drink it, it like then gets cold and throat, coach your throat. I can't see it. Well, yeah, if it was cold, it wouldn't be a drink, Chris. It would be a snack, it'd be like you'd be drinking it with a fork and a knife.
Starting point is 00:12:05 I mean, there is ice tea, but yeah, if it was wax, yeah, that's true. Okay, bizarre, bizarre. Got weird energy and weird drinks going on in the Stinky Dragon this episode. What'd you guys expect? Yeah, compared to, like, the very normal drinks that we start these shows, with. I guess we just have extra this episode. Thank you, Natty. Finally, last up, last and definitely not least,
Starting point is 00:12:27 I believe we have Doug slash Barbara. Oh, wow, thank you for calling me not least. That's the nice thing anyone said to me. My name is Doug Boone, Artifisher Bugbear, played by Barbara Dunkelman. And come on into the stinky dragon. Lap up our latest libation. It's a mixture of green tea,
Starting point is 00:12:45 which has Lthianine, which improves mental performance. It's got blueberries which are good antioxidants, and a garnish of salmon, which of course contains omega-3 fatty acids that build brain cells and prevent cognitive decline. It's called the smartini. Oh, that's good. And you could add a little bit of gin if you want to make it in a non-vourgin.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Well, it's funny, all of those are really healthy, really good for you ingredients, but I don't know if I want all of those together. No. Absolutely not. Mixed together. Absolutely not. A smartini. Doug, Doug with the drink that helps you and also the super clever wordplay.
Starting point is 00:13:24 Oh, thank you. It asks me for a pun and I'm here. He must have had. Definitely not the least Twin Cup's drinks. Oh, he must have had some before he came up with that drink. Chris, strike one. He must have. He must have.
Starting point is 00:13:40 It happens. It happens. It happens. The trick is to stick with it. Find that time. Jump in there. You got it, Chris. All right, high five.
Starting point is 00:13:51 You got to work on your timing. Let's go. This is fun, isn't it? Freaky-Diki entrance. This is pretty fun. Very cool. Little playhousey, little meow wolfy. Is that like a fantasy creature?
Starting point is 00:14:09 Yes, yes. It does sound like it. You go down the spiral staircase together, and after going down for, A couple stories, you all enter a cavernous underground town, dimly lit by spangled amber gemstones glowing softly in the cave ceiling. Is that the only entrance into this town? Because wow, traffic must be brutal. Normally, Shady Pines Hollow would be a bouquet of colorfully feud houses, clustered in cozy cave cul-de-sacs. The streets would wind with iridescent stone walkways that lead to communal courtyards, front porches, and bustling businesses.
Starting point is 00:14:45 A soundscape would echo between buildings of melodious singing, lively laughter, and tinkering from the mines. But the first thing you notice is a scorched crater where the mine's entrance once stood. Most houses are aflame or crumbling. Half the gemstone walkways are collapsed into sinkholes. Courtyards and businesses are guarded by patrolling bands of Udarians. There's no singing nor laughter in the air. Just the roar of flames, marching of feet, an industrious din of mining equipment. You find yourself on one side of a bridge.
Starting point is 00:15:20 You hear the sound of click-clacks. The bridge appears to be crafted of black gemstone crossing over a lazily flowing river of bones, each a different shade of the rainbow. Rainbones. That's pretty good. Excellent. Inspiration die for John.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I don't think, that was just me calling out what clearly was the reference, I think, that Mike was trying to make. Inspiration die for John. On the other side of the bridge, you see a lopsided demon with a burly right side and slim left side.
Starting point is 00:15:48 He's got a bushy emerald beard. who's wearing a 10-gallon hat made of red and silver metal and oversized plaid overalls with a tool belt. He's wielding a bifurcated pickaxe with jagged blades in his right hand and his left hand is a drill. That's a lot. That's a lot. That's a very colorful creature. I think got like half of that.
Starting point is 00:16:07 He's about a talk, so just hold on to your bridges. Settle in, everybody. This demon is addressing of a couple of flesh warpers that are milling about on the other side of the bridge. Oh, wait, wait, wait, wait. Does anyone of you speak infernal? I do. I do not.
Starting point is 00:16:22 I thought you spoke abyssal, Chris. Oh, those weren't the same. Wait, wait, wait, wait, was it infernal, he said? Infernal. I know this! Yes, yes, yes, yes. Keep going. Okay, I'll say it in English to expedite it.
Starting point is 00:16:35 Thank you. Before you guys. No, no, no, no. No, speak in your native time. Stop. Do it in the firm. Message it to me, and then I'll relate to the group. Oh, my God. What, John, what?
Starting point is 00:16:44 It's role play. I know, but I just want to hear what these dumb demons are saying. I will tell you once Gus tells me and I translate. Thank you very much. This is how this works. Instant gratification with this guy. No patience. So normally I would play along and I would do this blame, but there's not a script for this.
Starting point is 00:17:03 So I'm making it up as I'm saying it. So I'm going to have to say it. Blaine, take an inspiration die. I appreciate the commitment to wanting to do that. But not this time. We actually call that Gus a placating die if you want to just make sure. This is my pacifier die. Sit up in my mouth down and go...
Starting point is 00:17:21 I'm broke coat die. What's the update on finding the weather wig? A couple of the Fleshwarpers that are nearby begin mumbling replies. The current is searching the marketplace and no luck. Hanging to boot the Dilly-Dollywood for further investigation. Ugh, incompetence. Oh, yeah. The prospector reaches back with his bifurcated axe and slices through one of the fleshwrecked.
Starting point is 00:17:49 warpers, cutting it cleanly in half. The two half shudder fall to the ground and then slowly form into two distinct flesh warpers. Well, what are you waiting for? Get out there and find the weather we do once. With his left hand, he pounds it into the ground and begins drilling and disappears underground. The flesh warpers shudder off into various directions. Okay, so now what he said was, what's the update on the status of the Vueder Vig? And then the Fleshwarpers said, searching Walkerplace, heading to Dilly, Dallywood next. And then in infernal, he chopped them in half, but then they reformed. Also in infernal.
Starting point is 00:18:28 You're welcome. That's my translating. Nadi, do you know who or what the weather wig is? Do I know what the weather wig is, Gustavo? Is this a part of the drow culture that I come from? You've heard of it. It's like a relic in the community. As the name would imply, it's like a bushy.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Whig that has some powers, but it's kept secret and safe because it's such a beloved relic of the community. Okay, okay. So like I said, you're on one side of the bridge. It crosses over a lazy, flowing river of bones. From the other side of the bridge, there's actually many paths, but a lot of them are blocked or destroyed due to rubble and destruction. However, there are two available egresses out from the other side of the bridge. There is a path that heads to the northeast, as well as a path that heads to the south.
Starting point is 00:19:15 The northeast path is a sidewalk adorned with graffiti, and then the southeast path seems to descend into some kind of crater. Ah, where the explosion took place. I'll never tell. And where did these guys go? These guys, I think, would have headed off towards the northeast. And the guy who had, like, the big, bushy emerald beard just went straight down with that drill hand, right? Yeah, he's got a drill hand.
Starting point is 00:19:40 I think in my... I don't know if this is correct, but my head canon of it is kind of like the Big Daddy and Biobiles. shock. He's got the big drill in one hand. Yeah. Not the mole guy from the Incredibles. Did he have a drill on his hand? No, he just had a giant drill. Oh, okay. The underminer? Underminer. That was his name. Underminer, yeah, yeah, yeah. The underminer.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Great name. What is the state of, like, if we were to cross this bridge and start taking paths, Natty would wonder, she's, she is fuming with hatred at this point, just to remind everybody. But she also, I don't know, I guess just looking at it, Is it overrun with like all these guys, so we should be like operating under stealth?
Starting point is 00:20:21 Or is it sparse with people and we can kind of move a little bit more freely? It is heavily overrun with the Undarians. Okay. We're like kind of in stealth though, right? Because you're in disguise. I'm still looking like a weird spider guy. And then didn't, I guess Doug and Gunther like combined or something. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:41 Yeah, I have his little frog arms. So they'll never find us, John. Okay, thank you. I think you all had actually removed yourself because you had a little bit of combat in the previous episode. So I think you weren't exactly in that same configuration. However, you're welcome to do that again if you want.
Starting point is 00:20:59 To form. To Voltron. To form a form of... of... Dyrnog, sir. Oh, goondug. Yeah, I like it. That's good.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Gondog. Nattie's going to go ahead without your... even like motioning to the group and walk across the bridge and head down towards that crater to see what's going on down there. Southeast. Yeah. So I think Natty's feeling in her fields right now. So we just need to be very supportive team because, oh, she angry.
Starting point is 00:21:31 That's it. Oh, she angry. Oh, she angry. You begin making your way towards the southeast pass. Make me a perception check. Natty, please. That's a 10. What is Natty's perception?
Starting point is 00:21:43 Plus 3. 13. Okay. That's good enough. As you're making your way across the bridge heading towards the southeast path to the crater, you pause and take cover for just a second because you see four dredges and a path of 60 mongrels walking by, escorting about 20 drow in that direction. The drow are seem to be tired, beaten, burned, and they're shackled together by blackened and chains that are glowing dull red. But do they have tails?
Starting point is 00:22:11 Stop. Stop observing. The direction they're walking towards this crater appears to be like the cratered entrance to the mines. There's charred remains of drought miners, shattered pieces of ye old ye statue, and piles of damaged mining tools and equipment. So the like a crater or the entrance has been turned into a crater due to some sort of destruction happening outside of it? Yeah, and I mean it's kind of logical, right? Like it's already a mine, it's already a hole in the ground. So now there's just this crater on top of it is like further expanding. the hole.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Weird. Do we know what the source of the explosion was? Is there anything like going into bomb explosives, you know, reconnaissance? Is there any like trapnel or leftover things? Maybe, hey, Doug, you made, have you made a lot of bombs? Do you know, like, maybe the ingredients of bombs? I can't legally answer that question. But, yeah, I might know a thing or two.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Maybe let me investigate the area and see if I could get any clues here. Put your forensics cap on. Forensics. There you go. There it is. There it is. Doug kicks a toll into the crater. No need for inspiration.
Starting point is 00:23:26 I've got one, thanks. Make an investigation check for me, Doug, as you try to investigate the source. That is a dirty 20. That's pretty good. You investigate the area and that role's pretty good at dirty 20, Doug. And it seems like to you, How can I phrase it? It doesn't seem like it was necessarily planted explosive charges or that kind of thing.
Starting point is 00:23:51 It almost seems like there was some kind of, for lack of a better term, like an industrial accident or some kind of exploding machinery that caused this crater, whatever explosion occurred here at the mine. Would there be any pieces of material or parts that Doug would be able to assess and see what they were trying to use or like make here, if it's machinery? It's all pretty much just like shrapnel and bits. It's hard to say. However, that being said, make me a intelligence check. You got it.
Starting point is 00:24:26 No. How that go? Yep. So smart. Roll to one with plus fours a five. Yeah, it's difficult to ascertain. But I will say, you know, you don't get too much insight with that roll.
Starting point is 00:24:39 But the logical leap or the logical conclusion would be maybe some kind of mining gear or some kind of mining mechanism maybe malfunctioned and caused it. If we have like questions that are unanswered and we need to get caught up, we could always try intimidating or interrogating somebody. I feel like we rarely do that.
Starting point is 00:25:02 So the dretches took these prisoner drow into the mine. And that's what we're following basically behind them. Cool. Okay. And then I agree, I agree, I agree. I would, I would, I would love to get my hands on one of these Undarians. So why don't we head into the mine and see if we can find that group that just went this way and maybe we could find like a straggler.
Starting point is 00:25:28 Oh, yes. You can find a what? A straggler. I love it. Stragler. And then we could, you know, rough them up and I'll take turns asking the important questions to get the intel. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes, yes, I love intimidating people.
Starting point is 00:25:49 Gunther rubs his little hands together inside a dog. It just tickles me. While we're walking past, Gunther, he uses his tongue and grab a pickax. Did I say there were pickaxes there? You said there was abandoned mining equipment. You did say that the guy at the start that we saw was wielding a pickax, but I don't know if there was extra. Yeah, I guess it was the abandoned mining equipment. I thought pickax.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Sure, we'll say that there would be one there. Why not? I'm just trying to make sure I, like, in my mind, what it was. Yeah. Okay. Add it to your ever-growing inventory of unused stuff. Just so I make sure I understand the plan correctly, you're going to enter the minds, kind of following,
Starting point is 00:26:30 looking for a straggler, some kind of undarian that you could potentially snatch and interrogate. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Get them, boss. Calculating route to avoid seeing poverty, Turn left to bypass the unhoused youth sleeping on the street. Then keep right to skip by the lines of people waiting for food.

Sunny Jamaica moves to its own rhythm. Rio comes alive long after the sun goes down.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Philippines slows everything down. And just when you think you've heard it all, there's sunny Lima. However you imagine your sunny escape, Air Canada can take you there. Book hot fares and vacation packages today. Nice travels. You begin following, heading down, down into the mine and you find yourself in tunneled minds with the sounds of industrial tinkering, marching feet, and flapping wings. I'll tell you, just so I can keep everyone track of everyone, why doesn't everyone go and roll me initiative? And we're going to, we're going to, we're going to dig into this year. 16. Nandy got a four, 25, totally got a 16.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Roll off. I have, what is it? Is it just dexterity? Plus three to me. What's your actual dexterity? 17. Okay, you go first. Yeah, just a little peek behind the screen.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I used to handle initiative in like a local text document on my computer. No one could see it. But now we've started sharing it. That way, Micah and Ben can see it at the same time. So we can make notes on what's happening. I think there's going to be a way better system moving forward. Okay, so you all begin descending into the mines, and we're going to do our favorite thing.
Starting point is 00:29:19 We're going to be going through the deck of dungeons in order to figure out what's happening. Yay. So we're going to be using one of our... mechanics here called the deck of Dungeons if you're not familiar with it the deck represents the progress and perils waiting for the party and the paths that lie ahead the gameplay is based on initiative rolled taking turns around the table which is why you all rolled initiative each player takes one turn per round and on each player's turn the GM deals out three cards face down in the river there's a left center and right and this represents a juncture of different
Starting point is 00:29:52 paths that the player can take while traveling on each player's turn they can take one action then pick one card from the river. And there's five card categories in the deck. There's Clear Path cards, Monster cards, obstacle cards, wanderer cards, and item cards. Whenever a player picks a card in the river, the card's not revealed explicitly to the player, rather the GM, me, will present the party with a scenario
Starting point is 00:30:15 that represents the chosen card. And then the various cards, the Clear Path cards, they represent making good choices, so basically they move you closer to your goal. The goal of this game is to pick five Clear Path cards. and then you reach your goal. The monster cards represent menacing individuals or creatures lurking in the shadow. When drawn, the monster cards discarded, but the party receives one strike.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Strike represents the party's presence being made known to monsters nearby, and once the party receives two strikes, they may encounter a threatening monster. Obstacle cards represent taking a path impeded by a hazard, trap, mystery, or puzzle. Obstacle cards stay in the river until resolved. On each player's turn, they may use their action to attempt to resolve the obstacle instead of rolling on the action table, table. If three obstacle cards fill the river, they're discarded, an additional monster card is placed in the pile. Wanderer cards represent travelers or lost souls. Met along one's journey. They may need help, offer guidance, or look to trade. It's up to you all to determine if they are friend or foe.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Some wanderer cards may stay in the river while others may leave at their leisure. And item cards are the last one. They represent treasures, trinkets, and trash that catch one's eye while traveling. It could be mundane or magical, helpful or harmful. Player chooses whether to keep or cast them. A side. Regardless of the decision, the item card is added to the discard pile. And then the actions you all can take, you can use a strength check to pioneer path. It adds two additional clear path cards to the discard pile. Run recon, which is a dexterity-based check. It draw three cards from the deck. Choose one to place on top of the deck and the other two are shuffled back into the deck. Get Gutsi, which is constitution. Discard all three cards in the river and draw three new cards. Optimize options, which is intelligence. You draw two cards from the deck, choose one to replace a card in the river. Shuffle the run.
Starting point is 00:31:56 remaining cards and place them on top of the deck. Peruse pitfalls, which is revealed two cards in the river, choose one to discard, shuffled the two remaining cards and place them face down in the river. And Bolster Buddy, which is charisma, choose a player to grab advantage to on their next check or save. What check was the one before that one? Peru's pitfalls is wisdom. I wasn't sure if I said it, so thank you for asking. As I was reading Bolster Buddy, I thought, did I say the previous one? So thank you, Barbara. The May's difficulty starts with DC-15 for actions, and then there's adjustments depending on, you the actual scale of the difficulty of something's too difficult or not difficult enough.
Starting point is 00:32:31 It's a total of 23 cards in the deck. And just as a reminder for our patrons, or, yeah, I think at any level, you can hit to stinky dragonpod.com, even if you're on the free level, I believe, as long as you follow the Patreon, just go to stinky dragonpod.com. You can download all of these rules and these cards. If you want to use this kind of thing in your own game, again, it's on the free level, on the free tier. You can just go to stinky dragonpod.com.
Starting point is 00:32:55 I think it, yeah, if you want to just search the posts, I think it's called deck of dungeons. Yes. So you might just have to search to find it. It's not going to be like at the top of the page or anything. Correct. Just give it a little search. I've got it pulled up right now, and this design's really pretty. Yeah, we've used this mechanic since Campaign 1.
Starting point is 00:33:13 It's evolved a little bit. It's always changing. And I think it's phenomenal. I love it. I'm super happy with where it is right now. And I'm always thrilled anytime we get to use. Me too. I hate it.
Starting point is 00:33:24 It's the worst. That was told of saying that, not playing, though. No, I love it. I despise it. I despise it. All right. So all that being said, Gunther, you're old of 25 for initiative. So you're up first.
Starting point is 00:33:40 You all have entered the mine, and you are trailing these prisoners being led by Undarians. What's your move here? How do you want to approach this? Popquois, hot shot. I think Gunther is seeing the mine, and he's been so. burdened and wary the last three episodes, but he's got a new, he feels like a new croakful, a new frog, and the strength has returned to him.
Starting point is 00:34:07 So he takes that mind pick that he picked up and he wants to clear a path. Oh, Pioneer Path. So you want to use that pickaxe and begin, like, clearing rubble, trying to make a path for your party to follow behind and continue this pursuit? All right, yeah. Go ahead and make me a strength check.
Starting point is 00:34:30 Oh, man. Well, I was just saying on a meta level, after what doesn't kill you in it, and it was after three sessions of being wary, my strength went up by one. Weary. Weary. But I just rolled a one.
Starting point is 00:34:42 The query. Where's the query? We're in a query. It's further in the quarry. English. I rolled a one. You pick up your pickaxe and begin trying to clear a path, but immediately the first strike you take with the pickaxe,
Starting point is 00:34:57 the head falls off of it and breaks and clatters to the ground. I guess the wood must have been rotten. Oh, no. Ineffective. Dang it. I think the apple's rotten right to the core. What are you doing right now? Everyone on TikTok will know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:35:13 I'm not on TikTok. Yeah, I'm not either. All right, so you've got three paths in front of you, Gunther. You've got a left, a center, and a right. Go center. Oh, real fast, just meta-wise before I reveal that. I assume you toss the broken pickaxe on the ground, right? You're not...
Starting point is 00:35:31 I want to keep... Unless I see another one. On this episode of Hoarders, we visit Gunther Windbreaker. Yeah, yeah. I want to keep the broken, the metal part of it. Okay, so keeping like the head of the pickaxe. Okay. So despite your pickaxe breaking, you keep the metal part
Starting point is 00:35:44 and forge ahead down the center path. As you are making your way further ahead, but you find some writing on the cavern wall. It points straight ahead and it inscribed mine. So you feel like you're heading in the correct direction. Not yours. One. So meta-wise, that is a clear path card.
Starting point is 00:36:05 You are on the right path. This path has been claimed already, though, guys. Yeah. Stop. All right, so, you know, kind of a rocky start, no pun intended. But a successful clear path card is gained there. gunther. Cool. Next up, we have
Starting point is 00:36:23 Tov, then after Tollv is Doug. Youhoo. Ooh. It's Halo 3. I want that armor. Let's run recon. I guess who'll get that? Running recon, yeah. Everyone wanted to recon armor. Everyone wanted a recon armor.
Starting point is 00:36:35 And how are you going to do that? What kind of dexterity check you're going to make? What does this entail for you? Oh. Oh, you want to spell it out for you? Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to, I'm like a little, I'm still in my weird little
Starting point is 00:36:45 limb messed up form, so I'm going to act like, oh, I'm going to. a channel of some sort of weird little spider character like, ooh, I'm King Orby, ooh, I roll these mines, these are my minds. I don't want anyone like smorch
Starting point is 00:37:03 around. Does that help? Smorish. Sure. But it... That helps with Recon because... He's me in character, you know, it really puts me in the mine space, you know? Spiders are sneaky. Mine space or mine space.
Starting point is 00:37:18 And it was King Obie, by the way. I just want remind everyone. I don't know who King Orby is. We only know King Smarsh. He plugs up drains with his orbs. So make me a dexterity check for your spider-like recon
Starting point is 00:37:34 as you climb around the walls. You got it. John, my job is to say yes and. You are so good at your job, Gus. You're so good at it. 15. Oh, good. Shrip it five.
Starting point is 00:37:46 So that is successful. So you're able to scout ahead. you see what direction the enemies are going in, you kind of get a lay of the land of what's ahead of you. So you're able to draw three cards from the deck, and you choose one to place on top of the deck. And the other two cards are shuffled back into the deck. So the three cards that you can see from the top of the deck are item,
Starting point is 00:38:08 Monster, Item. Ooh, I'm gonna go with leftmost monster. No, from item! Item! I said item! All right, so you're gonna place that one on top of the deck and then shuffle the other two back into the deck. Yes, my monster. Okay.
Starting point is 00:38:24 So yeah, through your clever spidering, you're able to help your next teammate avoid a monster and guide them presumably to better outcomes. So now after having done your recon and your scouting, there are three paths presented to you, a left, a center, and a right. Left. For some reason, unknown reason, Tov decides to head left.
Starting point is 00:38:43 You sneak your way. Except his parts are on the wrong side, so he actually goes right. Oops. It's the wrong way. You dart boulder to boulder down the left path, and somehow maybe you were so focused on your recon before you didn't fully see what was down this path. You come face to face with a dundarion, who doesn't notice you before you're able to dart back behind a boulder and hide.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Matter-wise, that is one monster card, which is one strike for the party. Two monster cards is an encounter, so the danger is escalating. But we wanted this. We were going to interrogate, right? I'll say, it's not an Undarian. You see a Dymongrel. Ah! I'll get specific with the Undarian. It's an enemy that cannot talk and therefore has no information. Okay. How convenient.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Yes. That being said, now that Toll has gone, Doug, it is your turn to shine. I would like to peruse them all pitfalls. And how are you going to use your wisdom to peruse the pitfalls ahead of you, Doug? Well, I could use my two little eyes right here and I'll put on my glasses and I'll take a look and just kind of regard what's in front of us. Maybe do a little sniff test to test the air. And maybe also just shout ahead and go, hello, hello, hello, just to see maybe if something hits a wall or hits something else to see maybe what the right path is here. Some kind of pulse echolocation system. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:40:17 Yeah, go ahead and roll me a wisdom check for me, Doug. That is a 22. Wow, that is a good check. So, yeah, you're able to filter in some information that helps you along your way, which allows you to reveal two cards in the river. You choose one to discard and shuffle the remaining two cards and place them face down in the river. Got it.
Starting point is 00:40:38 So which ones would you want to reveal? The clear ones. It's left, center, and right. The cards. Let's go center and left You reveal wanderer and obstacle Okay And so you're able to choose one to discard
Starting point is 00:40:57 And then the other two cards Are placed face down in the river I guess I'll get rid of obstacle Okay obstacle you are out of here So then the remaining cards here are shuffled around And a new one is brought off the top of the deck So Doug you are faced with three options still you can still choose left, center, and right.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Let's go center. Center square. Show me potato salad. I don't know why I love that so much. Never gets old. I love it, too. You go down the center path, and before you, you find a small excavation area in a cavern. It appears that it's a dig site of shiny rocks,
Starting point is 00:41:37 and there's a cozy campfire in the middle. Near the campfire, you see what appears to be an old drought priest, who looks lost, is just kind of sitting there by himself with his thoughts. Hmm. Might this be a wanderer, perhaps? Mm, perhaps. I wonder if it is.
Starting point is 00:41:54 Uh, could I approach him? Yeah, absolutely. Are you going to do it stealthily or just going to walk up? Just walk up. All right, yeah, you walk up and as you're walking up, he lifts his head and turns and looks at you. And, yeah, it appears to be a pretty old drow. If you had to guess maybe some kind of priest.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Hello there? Oh, hello. What's your name? I'm spittinimogen. And who might you be? Spitting imogen. Well, you're a spitting image of my friend Nanny here, who's also a drow. Oh, lovely to meet you all.
Starting point is 00:42:30 But not a priest. You're saying we all look alike? Is that what you're saying? Uh, yes. I mean, look at all the bug fairs, okay? We all are kind of alike. What brings you to the marketplace here? Oh, this is a marketplace?
Starting point is 00:42:46 Yes, it's the finest marketplace in the area, well known. Well, I guess we just kind of accidentally stumbled upon it, but what's you got for sale? You accidentally stumbled upon the lost forest? Oh, lucky you. Yes, lucky us. I think my friend is confused and thought we were in a mine. Are we in a marketplace as well? Oh, the mine's further into town.
Starting point is 00:43:11 You got to cross the bridge to get over to the mine. I thought we were in the mind, Gus. I thought so, too. I don't think he has all of his marbles. Okay, okay, okay. Couldn't tell if it was character or Gus, character. So just could Doug look around and, like, actually see if there's things for sale or if this guy is just crazy down here and doesn't actually have anything?
Starting point is 00:43:33 I'm not even going to make you roll, Doug. You are very clearly in a mine. Okay. I just wasn't sure if maybe he brought some wares down here to... We are prone to trusting you over our own intuitions. So even, so you're doing that. That's why I'm going to be clear. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Thank you. You have to. Because we are just, we're coded to trust you. I'm doing my shopping, running low on supplies back home. Well, that's great. Um, where's home for you? Oh, home? I live in pines.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Shaded pines. What's it called? Shaded pines hollow. I live in shaded pines hollow. Well, it seems you might have got a little turnaround, So, you know, if you actually just want to head back that way, and Doug points the way they came, and just kind of keep going, I should take you right back home, just in case if you're lost and confused. Also, if you want, maybe you could wait here and maybe on our way back out, we can help you out there, but yeah, if you just head back that way, you should make it home. Don't you just love being retired? Oh, it's the best.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Yeah, I'm not retired quite yet, but. I worked for so many years in those minds. and now I just get to spend my days doing whatever I want and shopping whenever I want. Yeah. How's your social security doing? This makes me horrible. Boy, I wait for that government check every month. This makes me so sad. If I could pose a question, to your recollection, what is the state of Shady Pines Hollow?
Starting point is 00:45:10 If you had to say it's like same old, same old, or like a... It's going through a rough situation. What would you say? Oh, you know, things never change around here. Okay. That's what I like about it. It's the same as it's always been. We're a really small, tight-knit community.
Starting point is 00:45:29 Maybe we let this guy stay here? Because I don't think there's a shock waiting for him outside the mine. He hasn't been put to the mine works just yet. I think he's exist. I mean, does he seem like he's made like a burrow, like he's comfortable? here and he's surviving. A burrow. We're not rabbits. Well, I know. Some of us do burrow.
Starting point is 00:45:50 Yeah, we don't, okay? I would say it seems more like a temporary cap site as opposed to anything else. As opposed to like a permanent residence. I mean, this guy seems to be existing pretty well. I think maybe he's got something for sale. Yeah, you got anything for sale or are you just coming here to shop?
Starting point is 00:46:06 Oh, no, I'm doing the shopping today. I'm retired. Did I mention that? Oh, I love being retired. I don't have to do any. anymore. What did you used to do? I was a priest. I worked at the sanctuary of the silent steed. Oh, um, okay. Do you, I don't think there's anything we can get from this guy for helping us. Maybe we just let him be. Is anybody got any of ideas for anything? I have, I'm, hey, Spitting, Imogen, you've been super lovely to talk to you. I'm going to give you five rations so that you're good for the next several days. How does that sound? Oh, that sounds lovely. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:46:44 That'll save me some of my social security. Oh, my God, I'm so sad. I'm going to throw in a sixth one for free. There you go. And they were already free. And I have some dried meat that rations, or you can have as well. I'll hear you take some of these. Don't eat that.
Starting point is 00:47:03 Don't put that in your mouth. Don't put that in your face hole. Oh, what is this drink you gave me, mister? Is this some kind of pens oil? Tov has rations listed normal rations, not thomache technically. This is a drink if you were... Thomahechnically. Okay, okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:47:21 I put that in his pack so that he's got some food for a few days. You said there was that we were just like a little dig site with a bunch of shiny stuff. Anything that we would find beneficial to gather and keep ourselves for later? Make me a, we'll call it an investigation check. Sure. All of us are... Whoever wants to. I will do an investigation check.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Good, because I did not roll a good one. I rolled a six. Three. 21. 21's pretty good. Doug, you're able to find a few things that look useful. Natty, once Doug presents you of what he's found, you remember, or you recognize it, I should say, that these are visit gems. Okay, maybe hold on to those.
Starting point is 00:48:02 Yeah, it's one of the primary items, one of the primary resources here at Shady Finds Hollow. That's what they mine. Yeah, you might be able to use that for some bartering later. once we get everything right. Yeah, they're, you know, rocks and gemstones that resemble faces, and there's a variety of colors, textures, and uses that they can be... Gunther just wants to pick up some pebbles for his family.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Okay. How much of your carrying capacity is pebble? Tling, cling, cling, cling. Stealth roll, it's just... This is what he sounds like walking around. And you can sound like Gunther at stinkyjogad.com slash dice. Exactly. So are you happy with the state you've left this person in?
Starting point is 00:48:45 Not really. That's like an old man who's going to die someday because he's left alone. We're all going to die someday. Yeah, not 100% happy, but, you know, it's just what it is. His name is Gustavo, okay, and he's running a game. We had a meeting with a company's little behind-the-scenes business talk. What I mean with a company the other day talking about retirement plans? And there were all these different options.
Starting point is 00:49:07 and all of them had an asterisk like, yeah, and then if you're over 50, you can do this, but you guys don't have to worry about that. And I was like, let's talk a little more about that. Yeah, yeah, you're not too far. Let's hear some more about the over 50 option. Let's hear about that option. Who said that?
Starting point is 00:49:25 Yeah, just for us in a couple decades from now. Calculating route to avoid seeing poverty, turn left to bypass the unhoused youth sleeping on the street, then keep right to skip by the lines of people waiting for food. Steer clear of the crowded shelter turning people away, then take the next exit. Let's stop looking away and get in the way of rising poverty. Starting point is 00:51:03 we seriously love this game, and we think you would too. I mean, why else would we talk about it for like an hour every single week? All right, so if you love, like Magic the Gathering, check us out at the Command Zone, the premier podcast for all things Commander. Available on Apple Podcast, Stitcher, Spotify, or anywhere podcasts are found.
Starting point is 00:51:26 Okay. Are you happy with that, Doug? Are we ready to move on? Yeah. Okay. So next up, we've got Natty. And just as a reminder, Natty, you've got some options available to you, some actions you can take.
Starting point is 00:51:38 You're going to have three paths, and there is a monster card in play as a strike. A strike currently. Yeah, and then all the cards in the river are turned over. not missable. Correct. Okay. Well, I guess we don't really know. We don't have anything to figure out.
Starting point is 00:51:54 So normally I would say Natty would go with like something like the bolster of Buddy. But I actually think in character, Nattie's not in a very bolstery mood. Nattie's Angis. Okay. So Natty is going to, you know, Nadi's going to run recon, but actually it's going to be giggy that's going to help. Okay. Even in his current state? Yeah, but he can still turn into creatures that might be of assistance in this area.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Oh, right. Yeah, yeah. He has a... Whoa, there's new things in Giggy's thing. Anyways, I'll read those later. Shapeshift. Giggy shapeships to resemble a ba'a. Be it. Does he screech or does he click? He screeches.
Starting point is 00:52:37 I hear clicks. Hey, don't forget, Gigi needs to harvest a soul. And I think there's someone who isn't very long for the world here by. Don't... Get, Gigi away from spitting image, and I swear, I will enter combat for this man. He's like, like, smelling spit. He's like drool like you ever see like a dog with like the two long drools coming out of the corners of the mouth. Yeah, Gigi's going to go as a bat and do some recon.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Okay, Gigi takes to the air, begins flapping around, investigating the options ahead of you. Go ahead and make me that roll here at the dexterity check. Yeah, funny enough, Gigi and I have the same dexterity. That's a 15. Oh, okay. Gigi darts back and forth quickly, clicking wildly as he investigates the tunnels in front of him.
Starting point is 00:53:24 Wrong, wrong. My baby, my sound. How does it happen? Oh, my God. Beautiful. So that allows you to draw three cards from the deck, choose one to place on top of the deck, and the other two are shuffled back into the deck. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:40 The idea of running recon. Well, he's not a practice. He's not a practice. It's bad here. It doesn't do it very often. He's terrified as he flies through the air. Yeah. Just kind of bouncing off some of like the stalactites and walls. You reveal item, item, clear path.
Starting point is 00:53:59 Oh. Very good things. You can choose one to place on top of the deck and the other two are shuffled back into the deck. Yeah, let's do the clear path at the top. Really? Okay. Teach their own, I guess. Giggis is able to run recon and provide information that can help the next person who makes a choice here.
Starting point is 00:54:17 But for now, Natty, you are still faced with three options in front of you, left, center, and right. Yeah. So that means, just so it's said, when we have a card to place down again, there will now be a clear path in the river the next time we do that. It's on top of the deck for the next draw. Natty would...
Starting point is 00:54:34 Questions where does it go? Yeah. Well, you shuffle the river every time, right, Gus? Yeah. So, yeah, it's not always pulled out the same way. And they're... It's not like, if I go right, it's not going to go on the right path. Correct.
Starting point is 00:54:45 It's not. Okay. Nanny wants to go right. Okay. You go to the right and you find yourself in a misty cavern with colorful stone walls shimmering in torchlight. The torchlight interacts with the mist in that it almost makes a sort of rainbow shimmering from the mist and the torchlight. And at one end of the rainbow seems to touch the middle of this misty cavern. And you can see something that's partially buried at the end of the rainbow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Is it me lucky charms? My lucky charms. He beat me to it, man. Eighty, 80, 80. Natty will tell Gigi to go into dig mode, which is just Gigi. Like, he like squats over, like, legs spread wide and begins like digging, tossing out the dirt between his legs behind him. Yeah. Yeah, Diggy runs over and begins very quickly.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Diggy, that's hilarious. You said that. You said it. You said it. You said it. You said it. It's a good joke, Gus. Great job, Gus.
Starting point is 00:55:37 I said it? Yeah. Oh. And he pulls something out. and holds it high above his head. And you see it's a crusty horned helmet. Oh. Christy horned helmet?
Starting point is 00:55:51 Does it look familiar to Natty's culture? Or is this like Undyrian or is this like ancient culture? Yeah, he brings it up to you to show it proudly to you, Natty, you know, holding it high above his head. And you see that it's a horned helmet forged in the fires of Undar. It seems like all the paint has chipped off of it. Okay, Natty. Could Natty check it like with her connection to the
Starting point is 00:56:14 the archana to see if it's like, I don't know, cursed or magical? Yeah, make an arcana check. Well, that's not going to be very good. Nine, what's my arcana modifier? One, so ten. It appears like it's a mundane helmet of some kind. Like maybe it's just mass produced for like a big group, like a big army. And there's nothing.
Starting point is 00:56:34 It wasn't like a special piece for a high-ranking Undarian or anything. Okay. Well, it doesn't go on Natty's head very well because of the wig. So maybe Natty tries to put it on Giggy's head with his horn. fit in since it's Undarian? Well, Gigi has grown. I was going to say it's comically large on him, but Gigi's bigger than he used to be.
Starting point is 00:56:50 He's a little bigger. He's a big baby. Yeah, it's big on him, but not crazy. Like, it wobbles around. He seems to like it. Okay. Cool. He's got a helmet.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Yeah, Gigi has taken to it. And he's walking around in it, like, every now and then it, like, comes down and covers his eyes. And he has to, like, pick it up by the horns and put it back on the crown of his head. It's far too late to have that baby in a helmet. The damage has been done. Let's be honest. That little soft spot has already been pushed in.
Starting point is 00:57:19 That's funny, Tull. You want to maybe rethink that? Do we picket a fight? Are we joking around? Are we joking around about someone's child? Is that what we're doing right now? What's happening? What's happening? What's happening?
Starting point is 00:57:30 You've insulted Gigi. I don't think Nattie likes it. Is this the VAM Spire all over again? Are we about to throw hands? Natty is already on edge. Her hometown is destroyed and occupied, and now her child is being insulted. Giggy's a good boy. You know it's all in good fun. We love Giggy.
Starting point is 00:57:47 Uncle Tull's so proud of his little nephew, Giggy. Let's just remember words matter, okay? Yeah, okay. Especially magical words that can cause a lot of damage if they're cast by the warlock. Oh no, we're all just playing and having fun here. He looks at Doug and Gunther goes... Yanks at the collar. Just apologize profusely. I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Oh, thank you, thank you, that's okay. It's fine, it's fine. Back up to the top of the initiative order, we got Gunther coming up. Coming to the stage, Gunther. All the way from wherever he's broke. From fly, flat something. There's two cards open right now. You have three paths available to you, left, center, and right.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Is that what you're asking? Yeah, sure, yeah. Okay. But you can take an action. I would like to say to... I want to try and bolster buddy. Oh, how are you going to do that? You're going to choose a player, if you're successful,
Starting point is 00:58:46 you're going to choose a player to grant advantage to on their next check or save. Yeah. So still being inside of Doug, I crawl around his clothing to come up behind him and then go, hey, Doug, I will give you a pat on our back. Here you go. Okay. And here's a little massage. You're doing a great job.
Starting point is 00:59:04 Getting right in the lad. That feels good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think, I think, hey, hey, team, what did we decide it was? Doug Gunn. Okay, there's a hearty pat on a back. Pat on a back. Some massaging going on for Team Doug Gunn.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Make a charisma check to see how effective that is, whether it's depreciated or whether it's creepy. Oh, no, no, I've erled another one. Creepy. Doug, Gunther's whispering some nonsense in your ear about... He's trying to massage you, but it's just kind of tickling my arm. It's not really relaxing. Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Starting point is 00:59:45 He's like twisting his hands around and it's creating a burn on you. Hey, ow. You're doing great, huh? Oh, thanks, buddy. Wow, this is, you're so strong. You're not someone whisper in your ear, but they kind of yell in your ear and you're like, Yeah, like any drunk guy had a bar. Yep, that's the one.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Oh, not very successful, not very charismatic, good through. I'm sorry. I know. All right, but that being said, That still does leave you three paths in front of you, left, center, or right. Center. And just for reference, there is a monster card in play, and you all have a revealed one clear path as well. And you said center?
Starting point is 01:00:22 Mm-hmm. As you proceed down the center path, the tunnel seems to become more narrow slowly, to the point where eventually it narrows down to a crawl space. There's torchlight flickering with shifting devilish shadows. An eerie breeze softly howls like a pained wolf. Make me a dexterity saving throw. Okay. I roll another one, Gus.
Starting point is 01:00:46 My God. There's three ones in a row. I'm growing wary of your rolls. Right at the most narrow portion of the crawl space, your foot triggers a thin trip wire that's been laid across the path. You look down and you only have enough time to quickly look up as rocks begin falling from above on top of your head, doing 10 points of bludgeoning damage.
Starting point is 01:01:09 These are not... The pebbles I want. These are not special shiny rocks. These are mundane, boring rocks. Metagame-wise, that was an obstacle card. Dress. If only you had given Doug a better massage. I know.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Is it like, don't cross a black cat and don't give a bug bear a bad massage? Exactly. Yeah. Classic. Gotcha. Superstition. Like bad luck things, yeah. That goes for Barbara too.
Starting point is 01:01:34 Don't give Barbara a bad massage. Just give me all this little shoulder rub. So meta-wise, on top of it, being a lot of it. an obstacle card, that remains in the river. So there is now an obstacle in the center that cave in, those rocks that have come down, have blocked up that center pathway. So you have to double back and then the next person can either go left or right. And the next person, of course, being told. You mentioned that the obstacle card, is it in the river? Yeah, center is not an option. Correct. And is a monster in the river as well? Do we know? Monster is triggered. Got it.
Starting point is 01:02:09 Right, it's a strike. It's just noted. Okay, okay, okay. But there is a clear path card in the river right now between those two choices. Maybe not. There was for Gunther, but the cards are reset after his turn. Every turn? Yeah. Wow. Yeah, every time they're redrawn. Yeah. So that has disappeared, except for the, everything was redrawn except for the obstacle.
Starting point is 01:02:31 That sucks. You could, in order to get rid of the obstacle, you could use a successful Get Gutsy check, which discards all three cards. in the river and draws three new cards. I think instead I'll do Peru's Pitfalls. Have we done that one yet? I believe so. Yeah, but that was... Doug?
Starting point is 01:02:48 Yeah, I did that one, but it's been a whole round. Yeah, I want to... I never do, like, mess with the cards that are in the river, so I want to explore that. Actually, let's do it gets gutsy. Let's just, let's go nuts. Let's get rid of three of them and just do three new cards, huh? Okay, well, let's see.
Starting point is 01:03:03 So that involves you making a constitution check of some kind. What does that mean? How is Tov going to get gutsy? What's his approach here? I'm like, guys, we're all turned around. We ran into an old man. It made us bummed out. Our frog is crushed by a bunch of rocks.
Starting point is 01:03:17 Let's just find, like, oh, have we tried this path over here? And then on graffiti, it says yours, not mine. You're nice. It takes a lot of fortitude to ignore the options presented to you and find a new path entirely. It takes a lot of strong constitution to get something like that done. So why don't you make a constitution check to see if you're able to successfully do that? That's an 18.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Oh, okay, yeah, that is successful. So you find three new paths that you could potentially pursue, leaving aside the ones that were before you. So now you have a fresh left center and right path in front of you. Oh, nice. Fresh. Left. Free chavacadoo.
Starting point is 01:03:58 Free chavacadoo. I don't get that one either. You never heard free chavacado? No. Okay, so there's a lady that's filming and she's cracking up, And it's a sign that says fresh avocado, but the words got messed around in and says, Free Chevacadoo! And she is howling.
Starting point is 01:04:17 It's great. Micah says he knows that one. I'm glad some of you are free chavacadoo friends. Everyone knows that. This is a 50-50 split here in Sticky Dragon. Uncultured. You forge a head to the left and you find a suspension bridge over a lazily flowing river of bones. Again, each a different shade of a rainbow.
Starting point is 01:04:36 On the middle of the bridge, you see a young drow child who's staring over the side of the suspension bridge. You looking for your grandpa? Oh, but no, but Gigi's looking for a soul. No. Oh, my gosh. Gus keeps giving us wanderers. To consume.
Starting point is 01:04:53 Even though we're probably going to get into combat at some point. Hey, little buddy, I call out. His head whips around and turns and looks at you. He looks slightly scared. No need to be afraid. My name is told. What's you up to? Are you talking to him from the side of the bridge,
Starting point is 01:05:10 or do you walk out onto the bridge to meet him and talk? Well, I pull out a machete in a sea. Prepare to meet, Kali, in hell! And I shut the bridge. That's a little bit of Temple of Doom for you. No, no, no, I'll start approaching carefully. Tov, that's a weird name for an Udarian. And he begins backing away slowly.
Starting point is 01:05:29 Every step you take, he takes a step away from you. I'm not an Udarian. I'm a thom attack. Don't be afraid. and I show him my real face. No And D-Darians here! I'm going to roll a D-20 for fun. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:45 He sees your thomatic face, and he begins trying to run away, but he trips and falls on the bridge. Oh, no. Okay, jokes aside, I gave you a little bit of a fright, but I have my friend Naddy over there. Say hi, hi, Naddy. Give us a wave.
Starting point is 01:05:59 They're a drow. We're here to save your old village. We're a traveling band of heroes. and uh we're about to make your day a lot better that's a told promise he would be a little
Starting point is 01:06:13 comforted at seeing Natty you could have fooled me seems like it's not that great no I know that you guys are going through a lot in the Undarians of like brought the flesh warpers in and they're all so spooky and scary but no we're quite friendly
Starting point is 01:06:28 that's that's Doug yeah look here let me give you a massage no don't get you on the frogman but that's Doug. Look how cuddly and kind Doug looks. He could figure it out. Whatever your problem is, he's got it. I want to say as I'm waving,
Starting point is 01:06:44 his sharp, long bugbear claws are glinting in whatever light is coming in. I'm just like, you can't help yourselves. I'm Boggy Swamper. Nice to meet you. Boggy Swamper, you've got a career in acting or music
Starting point is 01:07:00 because that's the most search engine optimized name I've ever heard. Boggy Swamper? Sounds like a regulation name if I ever heard one. Yes. You could make my day better by helping me find my parents. Okay. Have you seen them in the caves? I think they got let down here. Okay. So they're probably being held against their will, but fortunately we're trying to
Starting point is 01:07:28 free all of the drow that have been captured. We found a kind of Gentlemen, have you happened to cross paths with Spitting Imogen? Are you familiar? Oh, I know him. He lives down the road. Well, he seems very friendly and it sounds like you guys are neighbors. So I'm going to kind of guide you to get to spit and Imogen. And hopefully, if all goes well, we free up your parents.
Starting point is 01:07:55 What are their names so I know who to look out for? Their names are Mona Moorhead and An Enigma. Wow. You guys don't share any last names Do you even know you're related? No, that would be weird. How would people know who we're talking about? That's an interesting point of view.
Starting point is 01:08:15 Okay, well, we're going to keep our eyes off for Mona and Annie, and we will let them know where you are in the caves so that you can get reunited with your parents. How does that sound, boggy swamper? Okay, I guess I'll go fine spit in Imogen. You said he's over there. Yes, he's got a fresh batch of rations. In fact, why don't you take one for the road?
Starting point is 01:08:38 You must be hungry being on these caves all on your own. I give him a ration. Okay. He seems somewhat cheered up, and he takes a few steps away, then runs back, gives you a big hug on your leg, and then continues running on the way towards spitting image in. That's a good lad. Okay.
Starting point is 01:08:56 Now you make sure that dementia sick old man takes good care of you. Take care of each other. How's that sound? Okay. That's a good lad. All right. And then I guess we cross the bridge. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Matterwise, of course, that's a wanderer. We did good today, gang. We still need to find a soul for Giggy. I'm just going to point that out. I was thinking they seem too strong. They would fight too hard. So we're going to, we'll get something weaker for Giggy. Don't you worry, giggy?
Starting point is 01:09:25 Weaker than the old man with dementia and the little child who's lost and tripped on the bridge. Yeah, that's the one. Okay. Tov, that was your turn. So next up, we've got Doug. Doug. Hmm. Doug is considering the options, trying to figure out the best approach.
Starting point is 01:09:42 Caddy's recommending a five iron for this shot. Okay. And that is a birdie that he has grown on that home. I am going to get gutsy. Ooh, get gutsy. Yeah, I got a Doug again, unhaping. with the options presented before him, potentially wanting to find three new paths to go in. Not an easy task takes a lot of fortitude to accomplish such a task.
Starting point is 01:10:12 So once you're a meeting constitution check, let's see if you're able to do it. Okay, here we go. Constitution is not bad. Okay, yeah, that's fine. He said the DC was 15. So unhappy with the options presented before him, Doug finds three new paths to potentially go down. Left, center, and right. Let's go right. You go to the right, and you come to an area that's filled with industrial machinery and choked with smoke.
Starting point is 01:10:40 There's a loud din of drilling that fills the air. Amongst the machinery, you see a group of grimy, overworked drought miners. Do I recognize, like, the equipment I see in this room as stuff that was, like, up above, or the explosion might have happened to cause a crater and stuff like that? Make me a wisdom check with advantage. Is a 15 and a 16? You don't know that this is specifically the exact same kind of machinery, or I should say the exact same type of machinery,
Starting point is 01:11:13 but it would be in the same family. It's a similar, it would be a similar makeup to the pieces that you found earlier. Okay. So two of them, two drows? I said a group. There's actually three. Okay. Do you guys think we should ask them any questions?
Starting point is 01:11:29 Or just keep going. Yeah, but I would wonder if they might be, if they look like they're being overworked, I wonder who's overworking though. That's a good question. We should work them over because we beat them up. Doug high fives. Gickey would be set for three days after this room. Yeah. Stop.
Starting point is 01:11:48 Well, I mean, what kind of life is there that they're living, you know? So it's not a bad idea. I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Doug taking a villain turn there. I'm just really scared of Gigi. Well, Gigi could help. How so?
Starting point is 01:12:03 Gigi can actually turn invisible, and he could do a little bit of, like, a check around and see if he sees anybody. Like, other than these three drafts? Yeah, unless you have a way of, like, just seeing it. Because I figure if no one's there, we should go talk to him. Yeah. Well, how about Gigi goes and does a little reconnaissance, and then we'll talk to them? Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Okay. So you want to send Gigi to try to do a little bit of reconnaissance? Yeah. Have Gigi make an investigation check. He's got negative two. Oh, no. And he rolled a four. So, two.
Starting point is 01:12:33 Two. Yeah, the Gicky does some crack investigating for you and signals that the coast is clear with two enthusiastic thumbs up. Okay, Doug. He says ain't nobody out there, so let's just go out there and see you these drow are up to you. Okay. I trust him. Let's do it. Uh, the evening, fellas.
Starting point is 01:12:51 With the start, all three of them turned around and look at you somewhat frightened. You guys look like you've been hard of work. How long have you been down here? Do you need a massage? One of whom turns and looks at the other one. Oh, look at this. We got a genius. Here come to help us.
Starting point is 01:13:08 How'd you know? Take an inspiration die. That's so good. Well, I mean, I just, you know, we just happen to be wandering by. You know, I'm not trying to criticize what you guys were doing. I just, you know, wanted to see, like. No, no. You were using them crazy.
Starting point is 01:13:27 Crack detective skills to point it out. Man, all these Undarians are terrible. What? You think we're Undarians? Why else would you be here? You're not residents of Shady Pines Hollow, except for that one, maybe. Uh...
Starting point is 01:13:41 Yeah, we're... We're her friends. We've come to check the place out. You know, like a tour guide kind of situation. Yeah. Yes. Oh, well, let me give you the tour. My name is Blubbert, and this is my workstation.
Starting point is 01:13:55 This is where I'm forced to toil. 14 hours a day. Wow. That's a long time. I assume the days here are also the standard 24 hours, but I don't know actually, Nanny. We're not on a different planet. You know?
Starting point is 01:14:11 What do you think is going on here? How many hours you sleep do you guys need? It's not just... Right over there is where the dredge is normally standing with us. For some reason, they're not here right now. Okay. Did a group of them come through here a little while ago, like a bunch of them and a bunch of sadder folk like me? Oh, they're always coming and going, yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Okay. Hey, I understand you're probably in a salty mood because of the circumstance. Do you, how long has this been going on? We haven't really gotten any sort of like idea on like what happened. One of the other ones kind of like pushes blub to the side and says, Hey, sorry about him. We're just super tired and overworked. Name's Rowan. Rowan Hackinson. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Which is a legally distinct name from anyone else who may have heard of. Anything else got it. Do you have anything else to eat or drink? We've been twiling for days without anything down here. I've been giving them away, but let's keep it going. I've got three rations for the three of you. Yeah. Got they're very excited, even though he did nothing there.
Starting point is 01:15:21 Wow. They take them and begin wolfing them down. Yeah, they seem like they've been denied food for a while. Oh, my God. There's an old-timer and a young little lad that are down, the caves that have more rations. Also, have you heard of the little kids' parents, Mona Moorhead, or an enigma? No, I haven't seen them specifically.
Starting point is 01:15:43 But there's so many residents coming and going down here being escorted by the Odarians. It's hard to keep track of. Why they got you guys working to get some more of them Visigems? Like, are they a value to the Indarians or something? It's weird y'all are down here in the minds for them. The Brow Specter is obsessed with Visigms, so he has us looking for more Visigms,
Starting point is 01:16:05 and on top of that, everyone here is looking for Weatherwig as well. So it's all hands on deck. Everyone's looking for something around here. Well, isn't that normally something that's, like, kept safe, like in the temple or something? Like, why, why would you guys be digging for the, did someone hide the weather wig? The way the prospector sees it, he's going to look for it everywhere, so he might as well work us through the bone. If we don't find weather wigs, we find visit gyms.
Starting point is 01:16:31 So it's a win-win for him. We'll lose, lose for us. Okay. Well, is there anything stopping y'all right now from, like, leaving? I don't see a supervisor. Are you guys chained up or something? Yeah, they're currently chained together with a similar chain that was holding the drought. prisoners that you saw earlier, like that glowing reddish kind of chain.
Starting point is 01:16:52 And the other one, I guess the third one, would chime in and say, them dretches will be back any minute now. Y'all should probably get on out of here while you can. We're not scared of them. Oh, you should be. Names borrows Charkley anyhow. What if we try and break this chain? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Yeah, let's Fleetwood Mac this. What? Thank you. Listen to the wind blow. While they're talking to you, they have been continually, you know, they'll talk to you and turn their head, or are they talking to eat briefly, but they've been continually digging the whole time. Are you guys, like, forced? Like, are you guys compelled via these chains? I reckon there's something driving us to continue our work here.
Starting point is 01:17:38 Like a spell? Can I take a hack at the chains? Do it. I've got my gavel of a gelstrom. Uh, yeah, go ahead. Uh, hit it. Hit it good. Hammer time. 22. 24. 24.
Starting point is 01:17:53 Yeah, that hits. Uh, go ahead and roll some damage on the chains. Hoopie. It's a four, but. Ha, ha. Ah. Savage attacker. Once per turn when you hit a target with a weapon, you can reril the damage twice and choose
Starting point is 01:18:10 the which one. So I'm going to do that. Okay. So that's, how about a five? How about one more? All right. Can you do it another time? No.
Starting point is 01:18:19 It says roll a damage twice? He did it before and then this one. Oh, that's the twice it's referring to. Yeah. You strike the chains, which, you know, like I said, they're like this black, glowing red kind of chain. You strike them in an attempt to free the miners, and as soon as your gavel hits them, they erupt in flames,
Starting point is 01:18:36 igniting the three miners, who each takes seven points of fire damage and fall over onto the ground unmoving. Oh. All right, Iggy. Oh, no. No, no time. If you were the type of person that slept, those screams would keep you up at night. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:18:56 Can I check? Can I do like a medicine check? Are they all right? Yeah, you can do a medicine check. Go ahead and roll me one. Okay, let's do medicine check. Five. Yeah, there is no pulse on the charred remains. Sleeping.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Maddie, how do you feel about that? I'm tired. What did you do, Tov? I guess I killed them. I didn't realize that this would have happened. You know I wouldn't have done that if I had known that that was going to happen. Do we have like a spell, like a scroll of Revivify, but like a three-for-one discounts, we've got three? No.
Starting point is 01:19:28 They're heading to the wedding. What if? What about that bony river with all the rainbows? There's going to be magical superpowers in there. That brings them back to life. It's called How to Hide a Body. Well, on the Brightside 12, you've set up the buffet for Giggy. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:19:46 Oh, my God. No. Thank you. No. Hey, you know what they say about spilt milk? Someone's got to drink it. I don't think that's what they say. That he's not.
Starting point is 01:19:59 All right. So Giggy gets three souls. What's that new for Giggy? Were these criminals? Were they the bad drow? These are the bad guys, right? These criminals. In a moment, they're going to transform because they were actually.
Starting point is 01:20:10 actually undarians in disguise. Just wait. We pick up a wallet out of one of their pockets and it's a picture of their four kids. Can't we think you come back from work, Daddy? We miss you there. It's a picture of Boggy Swamper. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Okay, so just as a reminder for this soul's mechanic, Gigi now requires souls to live. So every session Gigi must consume at least one soul of a nearby dead creature or he gains a scar and loses one hit dive. max HP. So one of these counts towards that. For every additional soul he consumes on top of his one required, Gigi gains additional benefits, and we roll for those. So let's roll. You're gaining two additional ones. So John, roll me a D10. That's a six. Uh, ooh, Gigi gains a proficiency in one
Starting point is 01:20:58 skill. And then roll me one other D10 for the second additional soul that he consumed. We're rolling a D10, getting a nine. Gigi gains one size level. A bigger. The helmet fits perfectly now. Oh, great. What was comical and cute is now scary and dangerous. He's a big baby. And what do we see again when the souls are consumed? He's like, he goes up to them and almost like
Starting point is 01:21:25 pulls some kind of mystical energy out of them into his mouth. And if you listen, you can hear him say, Your soul is mine. Oh, yeah. And the corpse seems to dry up like a raisin, which is hard to tell in this case because they were consumed by fire. They're already crispy. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:41 Got their pull, Toll... For a chat? No, no, Tolv and dug aside and be like, Hey, so I'm a little worried in that, you know, I thought that when Natty was talking about bringing the apocalypse, and I, you know, it was like kind of crazy talk, but now I'm worried. I don't want that apocalypse.
Starting point is 01:22:05 I don't think Natty's one to really joke about that kind of thing. So I always took that face. value, to be honest. Yeah, yeah. Okay. They were innocent. I killed them. They were just there and now they're gone.
Starting point is 01:22:19 I'm worried about Gaggy getting bigger and bigger. It is a little scary, right? He's a grown boy, and I don't know what souls he's going to stop at, you know? Yeah. Okay. Brunter, I would look out if I were you. You're very consumable. Brother, she called you a...
Starting point is 01:22:40 NAC or he called you as a knack. Just checking in. It's okay, cool. All right. It's scary. Bye. Hey, Nadie. All right.
Starting point is 01:22:52 Well, this room looks like it's done. Should we continue along our path? Yeah, let's keep going. Well done. Yeah, well done. So that was Doug, correct? Yes, it was. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:03 That means up next is Natty. Yeah. Natty will try to bolster buddies. She can tell everybody's. getting a little down. She doesn't understand why, but everybody's getting down. Who's going to be the focus of your bolstering? Doug is doing that thing where he's just kind of rolling his shoulders and like moving his neck around and you're like, oh, I really use a little actual massage.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Oh, you need a massage? Oh, no. I'm great. Okay. Nattie's going to bolster to hold actually. Okay. And how does that sound? Like, what are you going to do to bolster? On the trauma ladder, he's a little high. And they're dead. I killed them. They're gone. And Natty will go, well, you know, yes, yes, they are dead. But it's like I always say, death isn't the end. It's just a change. It's just the next step. And you know what? They get to go see my wife. And my wife is pretty great. I keep telling you that.
Starting point is 01:23:59 You know, so I know it's not, you don't want to be the one to choose when these people go meet her. But, you know, it is what it is. So it might as well see it on the brightest side possible. Okay, I'm so bolstered. Let's make my charisma check and see how successful it is. Let's see, let's see how bolstered you are. Not very much. Wait, what is Nattie's charisma model? 12.
Starting point is 01:24:22 No, you know that Nattie's heart is in the right place, Toll, but it's just not ringing true with you. You just can't get those images out of your head. That tracks. Wow, I feel so much better. And then, like, in my empty eyes, just the screams, the screams. So that was unsuccessful.
Starting point is 01:24:39 successful attempt, Natty. Okay. But you have three options of it in front of you. I want to do a deception roll to make Natty think that it was successful. Okay. 13. So do I have to counter that? No.
Starting point is 01:24:53 Yeah, do an insight. What am I rolled? I rolled, whatever it was, I rolled a one. Yeah. Oh, Natty, you did great. Total is just feeling worlds better. Thumbs up. Job, well done.
Starting point is 01:25:04 Good job, Natty. You're so good at this. We did it. Okay. So, yeah, you got left center. and right, yeah. Let's go left. All right.
Starting point is 01:25:12 Natty follows her intuition, decides to go left. As you're proceeding down the left path, you find a little scrap of paper or parchment on the ground that's like blowing by, being carried by an unseen breeze, and it like stops up against your leg. Nanny crumbles it up and throws it aside.
Starting point is 01:25:30 All right, Natty throws the piece of paper away. Just kidding. What's it say? You pick it up and it's instructions for a meeting amongst the Undarians. It's like a reminder about a gathering that's to be taking place. What's the info? It's a wanted poster for the old man.
Starting point is 01:25:49 It lets you know that there is a pending meeting happening soon amongst the flesh warpers and the dretches regarding prisoner movement. So metagame-wise, that is a clear path card. You are getting closer to your goal. Cool. I was like getting ready to write this info down, but it's just we got goods.
Starting point is 01:26:09 Good. Yeah. Two out of five. So, yeah, we can't do five, but this one, this particular case, we're doing three. So you only have one more to go before you reach. Two out of three. Yeah. There was a Black Box Down episode Chris and I did where the whole crash was figured out
Starting point is 01:26:21 because that scenario I just played out happened. Like the investigator was on site and the piece of paper that explained what happened. Oh, yeah. Like just happened to come on the wind and like went up against him. And he picked it up and it's like, oh, this explains everything that just happened. That's insane. Whoa. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:35 That's not a podcast we make anymore. But it was a podcast that was a lot of fun to, to, to, into at the time. Anyway, yeah, so you are on the clear path. You only have one more to go. And up next, we have, oh, we're back up to the top with Gunther. Let's get it. Gunther. Two down, one to go. Let's do it, Gunther. Gunther's evaluating his options, trying to think about the best course of action to take. Might I recommend a sand wedge because you are in the bunker at the moment.
Starting point is 01:27:01 I will run re-gun. I will look further away. I like the way you say it. How is Gunther going to do? accomplish that. Well, he will be sneaky. He will look on the on the ground for the path and maybe some footsteps that may have come around. So I'll say you're darting back and forth between potential clues evaluating them as they present themselves in front of you. Make me a dexterity check. It was not a one. Four plus five equals nine. All right. So that is unsuccessful. So you're in the the frenzy of looking around trying to get a you realize you're not paying attention to anything.
Starting point is 01:27:41 You're just looking at each item and then moving from one to the next. And you're like, oh, wait, I should have been paying attention. I've lost myself. Yeah, so you don't gain any information, but you do have three paths in front of you, left, center, and right. Center. Gunther bravely goes down the center path. You walk through the center path and you find yourself in a dome-shaped cavern. It's really cold, like shivering cold in here.
Starting point is 01:28:03 There's a circle carved in the green stone ground with a sigil in the center. What kind of, do I recognize this? You look closer at it and the sigil looks like an elven face with devilish horns. Elven face with devilish horn. Like a bad face? Yeah, the greenstone is some kind of visage gem. The green stone that has the sigil on it? Yes.
Starting point is 01:28:25 Oh. Is it just like an item then? Like a little rock? What's the size? Yeah. Big or normal visit gem size? It's good size. I would say it's probably close to like the sigil itself with the face is probably close to like an action. like an actual elven face size.
Starting point is 01:28:40 So the greenstone it's carved into is even bigger than that. So like a rather large circle. Let's say maybe like a close to a 10 foot diameter. Wow. Does it look like algebra? It does not. Does it seem like the coldness is emanating from it? That's a good question.
Starting point is 01:28:54 Make me a perception check to try to figure that out, I guess. 17. Oh, not a one anymore. Yeah. Take that, dice gods. It does not seem like it's emanating from that specifically. to be coming from all the walls all around. Oh, can we investigate the walls and see if there's something,
Starting point is 01:29:14 is it like a magical coldness or just a coldness? Yeah, make another, make an investigation check. Ah, 15. Okay, you begin, you know, trying to circle around the room, looking for the sources of the coldness, you know, just kind of like feeling around the walls, trying to ascertain if it's stronger in any one particular place than another, but it seems like it's radiating from every place equally. As you're, you know,
Starting point is 01:29:43 exploring the wall and investigating it, you find a small alcove, like a small cutout in the wall. And as you look in there, you see what appears to be a deformed drowl with devilish whore, staring at you angrily. Oh, it's, it's the drought from the, the draught, from the thing. One more time. Right, from the rock. Okay. The drought from the rock. Is it the same one? I said you smell what is cooking. It looks at you and it bears its teeth and growls. And almost like with animal-like movement, it leaps forward at you, Gunther, arms outstretched.
Starting point is 01:30:17 Roll for initiative. Oh, that's... Yeah, but we'll do that next time. We'll find out what happens. What's the result of that on the next episode of Tales from the Stinky Dragon? Why can't this guy explode spontaneously? Come on.
