Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey y'all wanted to tell you about another great podcast you thought y'all would love. Gestors of Ravenloft. It's a podcast where a collection of comedians started a D&D campaign only to find out that they are the characters and they've been sucked into the nightmare realm of Ravenloft. It's a DM by an award-winning game designer
Starting point is 00:00:14 and voiceover actor with a cast made of professional comedians. Gestors of Ravenloft is a show that'll make you laugh no matter what horrors are happening to its characters. Even better, the cast had no idea they'll be playing themselves. The series begins with a warm-up scene that was actually the start of the show,
Starting point is 00:00:27 so the players begin their adventures wearing Chippenddale vets, underwear and matching fedoras. It's produced by the same team behind the hit podcast, Dumb Dums and Dragons. You know the show has got to be amazing. It's got original content set within Ravenloft. It's a perfect show for DMs to learn how Ravenloft works
Starting point is 00:00:41 while also being totally spoiler-free for any players if they journey to Ravenloft in their own home games. New episodes are recorded live on Twitch every Wednesday night and release this podcast every Friday and Saturday. You get two episodes every week, so that's twice the fun. I did the math. I listen to an episode and I think the Ravenloft world is really cool. I feel like it's, well, in my opinion, it's kind of underutilized.
Starting point is 00:01:00 So I'm really happy to listen to them exploring that world and kind of showing it to people. Highly recommend you check it out. You can listen to Juster's a Ravenloft anywhere you listen to podcasts. What happens when two people who grew up in a very strange corner of Los Angeles look back and realize just how bizarre their upbringings really were? They start a podcast, of course. I'm Ashley Johnson. And I'm Talas and Jaffe.
Starting point is 00:01:23 Before we became the internet people we are today, we spent our childhoods as working actors, appearing in shows like growing pains and films like Mr. Mom. In our podcast, Weird Kids, we're diving deep into our unique upbringings, our friendship with each other, and all the delightfully odd interests we still carry with us today. In each episode, we get to share stories of our youth, the things that bring us joy, the problems that we face, and occasionally the friends we've collected along the way. If you're a misfit, an outcast, or just a weirdo who loves all things nostalgic and unconventional,
Starting point is 00:01:55 come take a seat at our table. We'll be releasing previously members-only episodes on YouTube and all major podcast platforms, with new episodes dropping exclusively and ad-free on beacon.tv. Have you ever wondered why we call French fries French fries, or why something is the greatest thing since sliced bread? There are answers to those questions. Everything Everywhere Daily is a podcast for curious people who want to learn more about the world around them. Every day, you'll learn something new about things you never knew you didn't know.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Subjects include history, science, geography, mathematics, and culture. If you're a curious person and want to learn more about the world you live in, just subscribe to everything everywhere daily wherever you cast your pod. Top of the morning, all you time, Raider Armagers, dock your mind ship at the stinky dragon and throwback our latest thirst quencher, one-hit plunder. It's a mixture of well-trained water, fresh mint leaves, a few alive, blasted black tea bags, sugar serrated by sabers, four limbs of lemons and limbo, Ice cubes psychically scarred and shaken and topped with ocular-synced oranges.
Starting point is 00:03:26 One taste of this timeless tea will make an everlasting impression of concussion, concession aggression. Previously, our venturers opposed to opportunistic und drown and undar ground outcropping. Still, they somehow surcan navigated their steps to the shackled citizens of shady pines and scared their subdures somewhere else. After some help from the hushed wrestlers, our heroes unhandcuffed the habitants, however, their huddle was put on hold as they heard a haunting whisper down the halls. grab a guzzler and let's get back to this gassy goss Hello everyone
Starting point is 00:04:03 Welcome to Chelsea Dragon And I'm your Dungeon Master Gustavo Sorolla And I'm gonna hit our four players with an arrow This week Yeah That's you guys Every time Every time
Starting point is 00:04:14 People like consistency People like grapes If nothing else I'm consistent I like consistently not being shot with arrows Teach their own If you could have any other accent Which would you choose and why Plus please demonstrate
Starting point is 00:04:28 That was submitted by tired and working. Everyone get those D-20s in. I feel you tired and working. Aren't we all? That's my alt-account name. 19. 1.
Starting point is 00:04:42 9. 6. So we're going to go Tov Doug Nattie Gunther. Tov, you're leading us off. Hello, I'm Blaine Gibson. Why did I want to say Father of the End of the World Bringer? I wanted to adapt to Natty's thing. What happened? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I got legal licensing. Custody is the word you're looking for. Yeah, whatever. There's no licensing. I got licensing fees. My children. Anywho, I play Tollve the male pharmaicabarbarian level eight. Toodaloo, hello, you who, it's me.
Starting point is 00:05:15 And, you know, first of all, I don't have an accent. Okay? I talk very normal. You know, just like my brothers and sisters. Neutral, clean. Yeah, yeah. But if I did have to adapt like a color, cool accent.
Starting point is 00:05:31 I would want to have a rootin-tutin, southern accent, not unlike Naty Vonder. Yeah. Cool. I just, I really think it's so, it's so colorful and fun,
Starting point is 00:05:41 and it's nothing, the only thing cooler than a Viking is a cowboy. So I'm going to try it out. A Viking. Howdy, it is me, Toll, reach for the sky. Is there something in your boot, Toll? Are you just going through Woody and Jesse's line?
Starting point is 00:06:00 There is an Undarian in my boot There it is I had some friends Meet my dad this weekend And they were like That guy's got the thickest southern accent I've ever heard And your dad? My dad, yeah
Starting point is 00:06:16 He's got a southern accent It's not that thick It's pretty thick Well, you know, people not from Texas It's pretty thick so yeah Fair, that's fair That's very true I love my dad's Texas
Starting point is 00:06:24 It's a weird conversation About the thickness involving Blaine's dad Next person Moving on What a great segue Speaking of thick boys Let's shoot over to Doug Boone Oh dick, yeah
Starting point is 00:06:43 I've been I've been known Anyways, hello, I'm Doug Boone Doug Boone Male Bug Bear Art Fisher And voice by Barbara Duncanlin Hello everyone, welcome to Episode 55 of Tales from the
Starting point is 00:06:59 you're dragon. That's my line. It's crazy that we've had 55 episodes. And Doug is actually quite a fan of accents, of dialect. And I think if Doug were to have another accent, one of his favorite ones, surprisingly, is a New York City accent. So, you know, it just seems so, like, powerful and like, you know, nonchalant. Doug has a hard time acting nonchalant, you know, it's hard for Doug to kind of hide how much he cares about stuff. Yeah, Doug's very chalant.
Starting point is 00:07:30 I'm so chalant. And so, you know, it'd be cool. You know, be walking across the street and be like, hey, I am walking here. Give me an egg sandwich. From the boutet. Did you say an egg sandwich? It's, you know, the classic New York cuisine. The breakfast sandwich for the bogega.
Starting point is 00:07:56 I'm getting from the blog. I was picturing an egg salad sandwich, like at the convenies in Japan. Is that not like Seattle? That's the thing with Frazier, right? Is it? Poss salad and scrambled eggs. There is salad and eggs in that phrase. Salad and eggs.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Don't get mad of me. This episode is all over the place. Take me to Brooklyn. Taxi man. Taxi man. That was the alternative title for that Robert De Niro film from the 70s. Taxi man. I don't know. Anyways, maybe someday I'll take a bite out of the big apple, but not today.
Starting point is 00:08:33 I want to see that, Doug Boone, in New York. That sounds fun. It sounds like a sequel. All right. Thanks, Doug. I appreciate it. You're welcome. Up next, I believe we got Natty. That classic I'm Walking Here line is from Midnight Cowboy. I watch that. It's not as fun as you would think it is based off of just that scene that everyone knows from that movie. It is a very sad and dour movie.
Starting point is 00:08:57 That's got Gus's favorite actor in it, John Voie. What? You love it. You talk about him all the time. I mean, it's true, but it's just weird that you bring that up here in public. Those are private conversations, Blaine. Natty, you're up. I'm John Rice here.
Starting point is 00:09:13 I play Natty Wonder, and I have an amount of movie knowledge that no one wants, but for some reason I can't stop myself from saying it sometimes. and I like to play this drow, warlock drag queen. Mother of the bringer of the apocalypse, my kid, not yours. I'm the father. Hasn't been proven. I was the father who showed up, all right? You don't even have reproductive organs.
Starting point is 00:09:38 How dare you? We say the father who jumped up. What? Wise. There's a frog joke. Oh. There you go. I love the explanation for a.
Starting point is 00:09:51 a joke. It's good. I do like accents. I like when someone from a foreign land comes and has a specific way they talk. It's just, it's so charming. I haven't met an accent that I don't think is just beautiful. But if I had to pick an accent for me to
Starting point is 00:10:09 have, other than the one that I already have, is I have always thought French is so glamorous. It's just the language, the words, the way they talk, the egg sandwiches they eat. The way it makes your mouth so, so small.
Starting point is 00:10:28 Yeah, yeah. Let me see if I can do one real quick. Bonjour, my name is my tea confici. Wait a minute. Council of... What was the team? Bad accents. Council's a bad accent.
Starting point is 00:10:42 That's what I'm the head of. I don't know what you're talking about. It's interesting because a southern French person is a Cajun. Yeah, yeah. It's true. It's true. And I do know about, I only know about people from the Babaiyou.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I don't know about maybe the proper Cajuns. But I do like those people as well. They have a weird way of talking. It's like a little bit of this, little bit of that, and a little bit of something you didn't know existed. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Okay. I don't know what I would have pegged, but I don't think it would have been that. Thanks, Natty. And last up, in this quarter, we've got Gunther. Yeah, I'm Chris DeMars. I play Gunther. Crook folk fighter
Starting point is 00:11:21 and for me I think there's one accent I think is so cool sounding I came upon some group of these people while traveling there but I worry I might sound racist if I try wow I don't know if we've said that word
Starting point is 00:11:42 in this show you know the snake people there are the cans and they're there you know, but they have that way of speaking that's like, let me try here. So, how are you? Ooh.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I love to open up my jaw all the way. Oh, God. I think yown. I don't like this. I don't like this. I'm taking headphones off. I don't like this.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Tell me when Chris is done talking. Did you say cans? Is that the people? E cans. E cans? Oh, snake. Backwards. Oh, got to God.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Also, Pokemon. Yeah. That's a cool vote. You should do that for your next character. A snake man? Talk about unhinging your jaw. Oh, okay. So it seems to me, then correct me if I'm wrong, Gunther, that croak folk would probably not get along with E-Kans.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Are they okay with each other? Not traditionally, no. Okay. Yeah, that's what I would imagine. No, no, not at all. But you like the accent. Yeah, they sounds so cool. They sounds so cool.
Starting point is 00:12:49 As they eat your family. job all right cool this this all makes me think about and i'll just mention this very quickly like voice actors always hold mel blank with such reverence and the thing they always point to is that luneitunes episode where he plays bugs bunny doing a daffy duck impression and then daffy duck doing a bugs bunny impression where instead of the voice is coming together and being a mash-up of the two it's very clear what the voice is like he's doing a character doing a character It's wildly impressive. Yeah, it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:13:23 What a feat. What a voice actor. I'm trying to throw that out there. Big fan, Bill Blank. We'll have to get him on the show. Yeah, let's give him a ring. I'm sure he's not that busy these days. Natty's going to go and hold on to the chains and hold on to them and pray to the
Starting point is 00:13:40 Kindle, to the Fire Eater as a Kindlekin. It's like, but you're a wife, it's your shelter. Oh, my goodness. We're open. Not everyone has a wilder flower in their life, Gunther. You go up to the chains, pick them up, and begin to pray to the fire eater. Yeah. And, you know, holding the chains tightly, does Natty close your eyes to pray?
Starting point is 00:14:01 No. Holding the chains tightly, you begin uttering a prayer, and as you're looking at the chains, they dissolve into ash in your hands. The drowl, look around and look down at the ash that was chains just moments ago, and they look at you seeming with gratitude in their eyes, Natty. And they say, thank you. Before you can reply, you hear, a haunting whistle echo throughout the mine.
Starting point is 00:14:23 The miners look around in a panic, and you can hear them chattering amongst themselves. Oh no, he's coming. We don't have much time. It's the Prospector. All 20 of the Drowm miners or Dixie Drillers are panicking at the sound of this haunting whistle. You surmise you have approximately one minute
Starting point is 00:14:43 before the Prospector arrives, and judging by the sounds of footsteps, it doesn't sound like he's alone. So you each have one minute in real time to ask the Dixie Drillers a question, but you'll receive three answers from three different miners. You can roll an insight check on one of the three answers to determine if it's a rumor or if it's the truth. Are there any structural beams that we could take down to block that exit or entrance?
Starting point is 00:15:05 Oh, he's going at it already. I thought he was asking good as a question about how this works. Right. He's at one minute and Gus normally when he says one minute he clicks the timer. Then that needs to be told asking it, right? Oh, oh, don't worry. We'll get to that in a second. Let me just finish reading this and then we'll... The timer has not started. Copy. I appreciate the fear of the timer. but we're not going quite yet. Yes, teacher. I'm going to reread that paragraph and then continue.
Starting point is 00:15:29 So you each have one minute in real time to ask the Dixie Drullers a question, but you'll receive three answers from three different miners. You can roll an insight check on one of the three answers to determine if it's a rumor or if it's the truth. At the end of everyone's turn, you'll have one minute to take one action, whether that's stay, run, hide, attack,
Starting point is 00:15:48 try to find a support beam, whatever. And the Dixie Drillers will follow your lead, but you should know, that though there are 20 of them, they are tired, beaten, and burned. And just as a refresher for you guys, you all were like in this big open area of the mine that was roughly like a ziggurat-shaped cavern, and it's stiflingly hot. And there's a triangle carved on a greenstone ground with a redstone sigil in the center, which was destroyed by Gunther.
Starting point is 00:16:15 And that's where we're at. They took off the chains, but visually, do they still, is like, it looked like they're still off, Could it be a range where it looks like they're still chained up? Does it seem like they, what do you mean? I don't think I understand the question. Like, does it look like they've all been freed when you walk in the door? Currently, yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:35 So why doesn't everyone go ahead and roll me initiative, that way we can sort out the question asking order, then we can go from there. 22. Is that a nap 20 year old? It was. Wisted it on initiative. Yeah, I was going to say it's like one. It's never a waste.
Starting point is 00:16:54 12. 10. 21. I think in a keyboard quest episode, I rolled, I think, three 20s in a row. It was a lot. Wow. That's impressive. Right before you died. I remember nice.
Starting point is 00:17:05 Right before I died. It's crazy. If you'd like to listen to Keyboard Quest, head over to stinky dragonpod.com. It's available now. Okay. So we've got Doug, then Natty, then Tov, then Gunther. Okay. So Doug, you're up first.
Starting point is 00:17:19 I'm going to start a one-minute timer for you to ask your question. Go. Yeah. Hey, what's up, Dixie Drillers? I'm very curious what's going on with and where are my friend Nattie's mamas. It's very important. We need to be reunited. I'm very concerned about them.
Starting point is 00:17:36 My grandma witnessed all the death drops being tragically killed in the first wave of the invasion by the metal dragon. Sadly, Nancy and Priscilla were among them when I'm so sorry. That's not what I heard. I saw Nancy and Priscilla in the Dilly Dallywood. I'm not sure what they were doing, eh? But the Hondarians turned that building into a morgue. I saw the death drops rounded up by the dredges and taken into the sanctuary of the silent steed.
Starting point is 00:18:01 I have no idea if they're alive or what's happening in there. Okay. This is going to be a lot to keep track. Natty, is this a cultural thing that they're all terrible gossips and rumor spreaders? The timer is going. Yeah. So do I just do an inside check in general? Which one?
Starting point is 00:18:19 Which one would you like to have insight on? The last one, talking about the sanctuary of the silence deed. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Make me an insight check. Vive check. 13? That is time, but you got the roll off just in time. Doug, you think that that person is, you think that there is truth to that statement.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Okay. That one seemed to be the most plausible. Mm, according to Doug. And they said they were at a temple? Sanctuary of the silence deed. Quick question before you start talking about other gossip, but what does death drop mean? Natty would know this. That was going to answer.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Yeah, so Natty, you answer. It's the name of their, that's their faction that my mammas are a part of. We got a few factions here in Shady Pines, and that's the, that's like the, they're like the priestesses of the temple. It's also a play on a dance move. Coffin used in drag shows where a drag queen will thrust themselves onto the ground. with a single leg up in the air. It's called a death drop. Natty, you are up next.
Starting point is 00:19:24 And the timer is running now. Well, you know, whatever room we're in right now, is there another way to get out of it or is it just that way we came in? There appear to be two different exits and entrances from what you can tell. The entrance you came in from, as well as an additional exit on the other side of the cavern.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Oh, okay. Well, where does that one go? That one hits further into the mine, But it also branches off and you can go just about anywhere in shady ponds from this tunnel of passages. By that you mean like that entrance can go other places as well? That one, the one that's opposite of where we came in? Yeah, branches off in every direction. That was me talking to Gus, but sure.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Okay. Well, then let's all just start. Is that the direction? The prospect didn't come from? They didn't come from where we came from. Both ways. That's not helpful. Do I need a roll?
Starting point is 00:20:14 So to answer your question, this really wasn't like a story. so I'm going to give you this one. Both directions have branches that can lead you just about anywhere under Shady Pines. Copy. You all coming in had to use a deck of dungeons
Starting point is 00:20:27 because you don't know these passages. However, you now have people with you who do know the passages. Does that make sense? Yes. And so my question about the prospector was that your way of saying they don't know?
Starting point is 00:20:38 Both can go in every direction. It's like a maze with two possible. Yeah, different connections. Yeah. Okay. You're in a nexus. Such a good word. Final question.
Starting point is 00:20:49 How's the weather been since I've been gone? We don't know. We've been down here. Timers up anyway. Next up, I believe, was Tollv and then Gunther. Okay. Timer running now. You were with me Toll, hello, hi.
Starting point is 00:21:03 There was a big crater outside of this cavern. What caused that? We were smitten by the gods. We undoubtedly upset not only the silent steed, but at least three other deities in Hara. We need to make offerings to all there. gods in order to red ourselves of the Ound Army. Oh, don't spit on my face! Well, I heard it was some sort of sabotage involved,
Starting point is 00:21:25 with our new mining technology using Visigium rubies. Someone needed to have intimate knowledge to cause the explosion by igniting the infused Visigms within the drills. No, no, no, it was the flimfowl. They have gained sentience and are in league with the Oond Army. For years, the Fowl Beast have been plotting against us for disturbing their nests, and they finally blew a literal fule. a literal fuse.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Enough of that. Second guy, second guy, let's go with you. Make an insight check. Insight check. Eight. Oh, that's a good role.
Starting point is 00:21:57 That's a good roll. Eight. You're unsure whether that person really has first-hand knowledge of that or if they're just making it up. I choose to believe in you. Also, are there any explosives
Starting point is 00:22:07 or load-bearing things that we could use to block off the prospector? The time is up, but I'll let you figure that out in the follow-up action phase. I'm going to kill that third guy. He wasted all of my time.
Starting point is 00:22:24 And then last up, we've got Gunther, and I'm going to start the timer for you, Gunther. Nice to meet you, I'm Gunther. The Weatherwig, that is the thing that you've been searching for. Why do they want it and what does it do? It's an arcane relic from the early days of the death drops that is used to commune with the silent steed. No one's seen it for a century.
Starting point is 00:22:44 Oh, no. It was an ancient relic, bequeathed to the drow as a gift from long ago. Supposedly it can harness the weather, but as whereabouts it kept secret and moved around regularly. It's all a misunderstanding. The wig is a folk tale we tell drow children and teach them good hygiene. You better do your hair or the weather wig will strike you with lightning. That third one's true. I want to check on the one.
Starting point is 00:23:07 What? The first one? The first question. Okay, make an inflect. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:23:14 Nine. One better than eight. Ooh, the math adds up. The math checks out. Wow, what a modifier. You are unsure whether this person indeed has firsthand knowledge of what they're talking about or if they're making something up in trying to talk to you. And my time up?
Starting point is 00:23:32 Yeah, the time is up. That was your final question, and yes, the time is now up. Love it. Okay, so everyone's asked a question and trying to determine what's rumor, what's truth. So now we're going to have one minute for you all to figure out what action you want to take, whether you want to stay, run, hide, attack, or whatever. So figure it out. Does he want to know what the weatherwork looks like?
Starting point is 00:23:56 Well, did Natty know that? I don't know. Is that what we're determining right now? Pausing timer to give insight on that. Make a luck check. Who? Glenther, since he asked. Thank you. Oh, and John, you make one, too.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Oh. I rolled a three. I rolled a 16. Naddy would have heard tale of it, but maybe hasn't seen it directly themselves or herself. I think that aligns with what we've said. I think we asked that in the past. From what you've been told, Natty, it is a bushy, silvery white wig, shaped like a cloud. Okay. And I'm restarting the timer.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Okay. Who's, are we going in issue? I'm in charge. So tell, you tell me what you want to do first. Oh, okay. I want to go by the cave entrance with a prospector. entering and ready and action. I don't think I can rage because I won't be able to take an attack
Starting point is 00:24:49 and that might end it early. Let's you, hey, hey, hey, you went off somewhere. You stopped talking there for a second. You talk to me. What's you going to do? I'm just your accent so cool. I really wish I had a cool accent like you.
Starting point is 00:25:02 I want to go to the entrance. Where are the prospector? No, Tov, you talk to me. Yeah, oh. I want to go to the entrance, Natty. I want to wait for the prospector to come through that door and then wall up Bing bang. I'm gonna hit him in the face.
Starting point is 00:25:14 While it bang, that's gonna be my next single. All right. One on a bang. The timer is up. Did I waste everyone's time? Oh, I thought we had a minute for each person. Nope, there's a minute total to figure out. Oh, we had a minute for each person for questions.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Yeah. You go over to the entrance and you ready your action told. And right as you do, the prospector comes through the entrance and he's staring at you face to face. I take my action. You see what appears to be a lopsided. demon with a burly right side and a slim left side. He's got a bushy emerald beard wearing a 10-gallon hat made of red and silver metal and oversized plaid overalls with a tool belt.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Cool. He's wielding a bifurcated pickaxe with jagged blades in the right hand and his left hand as a drill. Well, I'll be. You'll be what? Yahoo! What? You'd finish that sentence.
Starting point is 00:26:06 I'll be killing you now. Oh, that's pretty cool. Yeah, you could have just, we should have not had him completely. that sentence. Yes. Except for we have found the weather wig. Yes. And I will, if you wished for it, you have to keep us alive.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Let these people free and take us to Natty's momas. He found the weather wig? Yes. Well, if that's true, tell me what it looks like. Nobody remind Gunther what, Chris, what it looks like. Gunther, you described the weather wig back to me now. Well, you know, obviously it's a wig with a cloud silvery wig with a cloud like a shape. But I'm not telling you more than that because you have to do your part first and then we'll take you to it.
Starting point is 00:26:55 So proud of you, Chris. I'm so proud of you. You did it. You listen. Pretty good. Take an inspiration dot, Chris. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Make me a deception check with advantage because you did successfully re-describe the weather wig for me. Because the first one was eight. And the other one was a 19. Oh, excellent. All right, I'm going to have him roll in sight just to see if he's able to tell whether you're lying or not. 19's pretty good. You're probably going to make this. Oh, it was on a 20 and it rolled over to an 8 at the last side.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I gasped. He regards you and he kind of narrows his eyes and looks at you. And as he's doing that, 10 flesh warpers. fill into the room and begin surrounding and flanking you guys. And he goes, Hmm, sounds like you'll be getting me that weather wig, won't you? No, not at all. No.
Starting point is 00:27:52 No, why would we do that without getting what we want? You want to find a couple of drought? Yeah, and let these people go. Yeah. This is called a negotiation prospector. Would he let those people go? What do you need them for if we have the weather? Well, from my perspective, there's more of us than there are you.
Starting point is 00:28:16 No, and actually there's more of us because of look how many of them there are. Yeah, they're on our side. Look at them. They're all so weak they can barely hold their heads up. Yeah, but the four of us are super jacked and powerful. Are you sure you want to take that risk? I don't think you do. Yeah, and we got giggy. Now, I may have had to repeat second grade four times, but I know 11's bigger than four. Yeah, but...
Starting point is 00:28:40 How many drought do we have? How many cool drought workers? Can Nanny just shoot him? Absolutely. Okay, thank you. Absolutely. The negotiations. A warning shot.
Starting point is 00:28:53 No, Shaddy, Nanny's going for the kill shot. My job is to say yes and, John. So, yeah, go for it. Make a, your attack roll. I'd say with advantage because it's unexpected. You're in the middle of a negotiation. Okay. First one was a 17.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Second one was a 17. Nice. Hopefully, that's all you got. You tried, Chris, you tried. Hold that chin up, buddy. You could still try. Yes, a 17 does hit. Sorry, I was telling Micah
Starting point is 00:29:23 before we recorded, there's never any way to guess how an episode's going to go, and we did not have initiative set up. For this, we were just going to get in right now. You didn't think we were going to fight this guy? I wasn't sure. Natty's pretty upset.
Starting point is 00:29:36 But yeah. Just letting you. Just remind me. y'all. Her mamas are missing. But yes, a 17 does hit. Cool. Oh, then I should roll for Damage. That's a Nat 10. It has the symbol instead of the numbers. I had to think of what I was rolling.
Starting point is 00:29:52 Plus three, that's 13. Plus Natty's gin abilities. Give our gin traits. That adds three. That's 16 damage. And plus four for agonizing blasts. That's 20. 20. Wow, that's like max damage for you, isn't it? Yeah, that was, well, one shy, one shy, because then I roll a D4 and only got a three.
Starting point is 00:30:17 Wow. Okay, yeah, you let your Eldridge Blass fly as the prospector is in mid-sentence negotiating with Gunther Antold. And right as the Eldridge energy is hitting him and coalescing with his left hand, he punches down into the ground and very quickly drills a hole straight down. and his entire being escapes underground, leaving you alone in the room with 10 flesh warpers. Oh, so this Pokemon knows how he's dig. Yeah. It was very effective. Is that the second Pokemon reference in the last?
Starting point is 00:30:49 We could do more. We got more in us. Yeah. 100%. He'll come back after the next turn. That's how it works. Hey, everybody, John Rising here, and I need to talk to you really quickly about mattresses
Starting point is 00:31:05 because I have had my eyes opened to how important they are. I didn't realize that, For the past like 10 years, I have been sleeping on a subpar mattress, and that mattress had been contributing to a degradation in my life that I didn't feel a release from until I got my Brooklyn bedding mattress. Okay, I was able to go to their website, and I was able to figure out, okay, I'm a side sleeper with a certain amount of firmness that I'm looking for.
Starting point is 00:31:33 I'm also a hot sleeper. I live in Texas. I'm warm all the time. In January, I'm hot. And so I was able to get a mattress. with a little cool top on it. And when this thing showed up, as soon as I laid down on my new mattress,
Starting point is 00:31:48 I knew my life had changed. And then I slept on it, and I confirmed my life had changed. And I need you guys to join me on this journey of bettering your life, because you don't realize how much a mattress can change things until you get one. And so you're going to go to brooklynbetting.com
Starting point is 00:32:02 and going to use the code Stinky. And what you're going to do is you're going to get 30% off site-wide, which is a lot for a mattress. You've got to think about this. and you're going to get it for their fall sale that happens from October 7th to October 29th this year. Okay. Brooklynbetting.com. Use the promo code. Stinky. Get 30% off.
Starting point is 00:32:24 Make your life so much better. Upgrade yourself. Sleep better. Take care of yourselves. And take care of yourselves at brooklynbetting.com. When I first heard about dumdums and dragons, just based on the name, I knew how to check it out. It's a podcast where professional improvisers and comedians played Dungeons and Dragons for the first time. It's kind of like Lord of the Rings if everyone, you know, was an idiot.
Starting point is 00:32:45 With storytelling from an award-winning game designer and a cast made up of Second City trained improvisers, Dum Dums and Dragons is a show that'll make you laugh and might even make you cry. Dumb Dums and Dragons has been downloaded more than 4 million times, is charted as number two fiction podcasts in the United States. It's so good. It's been featured on the official Dungeon Dragons podcast, Dragon Talk. It's a trio of central heroes that are the zaniest, most lovable crew you can join, featuring Quinny, a thief who broke out of prison by serving his full sentence.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Alan, a wizard who consistently forgets magic has consequences, and their mutual friend butthole, a cleric to the goddess Moonhammer, who the other two think he made up. Dum Dums and Dragons is a perfect show to start if you're curious about how D&D works, or if you're a veteran player, you'll have a blast as this cast quickly picks up the rules and their wild adventure begins. They have new episodes released every Monday. I listen an episode, and it's great. I think improv in D&D is fantastic, and I think these people are absolutely excellent at it,
Starting point is 00:33:38 and I think you should give it a try, and you can listen to Dumb Dums and Dragons anywhere. you listen to podcasts. Do you remember that feeling of your first critical hit, or are you one of those people who are getting ready to start that journey? Well, I have a show for you. It's called Girls Who Don't D&D because none of this all-female team of players has ever joined a D&D game before or any other role-playing game. They go from learning, which dice is what, to challenging the gods themselves.
Starting point is 00:34:00 They're surrounded by a beautiful, chaotic environment has been described as a cross between Terry Pratchett's Disc World and Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and to World You Can Be Part of Two. That's because their listeners perform pre-recorded sections that fit into each show. Those parts and the rest of the show sound amazing with carefully added music and effects that bring a touch of the cinematic to your experience. It's kind of cool how they're complete amateurs when they started and they really progress. I think you can probably, you know, we can relate to that with Tales on a Stinky Dragon starting off kind of as
Starting point is 00:34:27 newbies and then really learning the game as we go. I think that's a great way to approach it. And you can join this group of unassuming Australians, otherwise known as the girls who don't D&D on any device that lets you stream podcast. But I'm warning you, this one's addictive, heartwarming, heartbreaking, and very, very funny. Hey, I'm Arne Neekam from the fully improvised comedy podcast, Hello from the Magic Tavern. I'm here with my co-hosts, John the Talking Badger, Bing Bong, and Usenor the Wizard. I greet thee, listeners. Look, I'm trapped in the magical land of food.
Starting point is 00:34:57 So I started a podcast interviewing elves, unicorns, and other weirdos. We have great guests like Felicia Day, Jason Manzuckus, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Amy Mann, and so many more. Oh, and I think one time we interviewed a sentient shoe? I hope it was sentient. Not to mention the evil people we've had to interview. How I hate evil. Join us as we bar crawl across the magical land of foon. Looking for adventure.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Getting caught up in escapades. Hello from the Magic Tavern is available right now on your favorite podcast app. And add free and with lots of bonus content on Patreon. Subscribe to Hello from the Magic Tavern today. Everyone, go ahead and roll me initiative. Six. 22. 23.
Starting point is 00:35:56 20. So did the prospector look like he was also flush warped? Because you said half of him looked one way and half of him looked the other. He's not a flesh warper like the other ones. He's more of a demon. Okay. It's like those guys that they do the professional arm wrestling, so one of their arms is freakishly large. Hellboy.
Starting point is 00:36:16 Yes. That too. Hellboy works. Ooh, hellboy works real good. With the drill being on one arm, I think of like a big daddy from Bioshop too. Yeah. Okay. Oh, and I got a role for my side.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Crosspector 1. And flesh warpers. Ooh, 20. The duality of your roles. Yeah. It's all over the place. You literally had one in a 20. For crits and giggles.
Starting point is 00:36:42 That's our new show. Claim that. Claim that, claim that. I can almost guarantee that. Get the URL. No, no, no, no, no. Do it, do it. Do it.
Starting point is 00:36:49 That's really good. That's really good. Take inspiration guys. Chris and giggles exists. It's been taken. It's been taken. By quite a few people, apparently. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:00 Never mind. No inspiration, either. It's derivative. Unchecking. Unchecking. Okay, so what do we got here? We got Tov up first. The prospectors, oh, the prospector just finished disappearing right in front of you,
Starting point is 00:37:15 leaving a hole in the ground at your feet. And here in the Ziggurat shaped cavern, there are now 10 flesh wharpers who spread out. all around on various sides. Okay, I will start by raging. We gotta link that Howard Dean video somewhere. We've referenced it so much. It's my favorite. And then I'm gonna take my Gabel of Gailstrom and take it really quick.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Is this gonna be, if I decide to look around and see if I can find like a column that's like load bearing, is that going to be an action or a turn or is that something I can... Of course not. You know, I'm a friendly DM. Sure. So do I see anything like that where I could look at an environmental hazard for these guys? Environmental hazard. Make me a luck check. Red barrels.
Starting point is 00:38:04 That's a five. Mambo number five. One, two, three more fun. You could just see Blaine's brain just trying to spin that into something funny. No, how about this? If you give me back my inspiration die, I will use it right now. Make me laugh. Say something funny. Ah, do it, do it, do it.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Right now, you're a comedian. Say something funny. Quick, before he changed his mind. I got nothing, I got nothing. Alright, uh, no, you look at... A little bit of Erica. Very good, Chris, but, uh, wrong person. Anyway, uh, no, you look around and I'll say that while you do see some support beams and load bearing structures, these are very good miners. who have built this, and there are triple redundancies
Starting point is 00:38:59 for all of the load-bearing instruments in this cavern. Well, I'm not even disappointed. I'm glad that they're being safe and that they're very good at the craft, and now I'm going to break one of these dudes' skulls. I'm going to aim for the closest... You slithwarper.
Starting point is 00:39:13 I'm going to say Undarian, but I know that there are flush-warpers. Yes. Flush-warpers. All right, I'm going to aim for the closest one. Yeah, there's one that's, let's say it's only like 10 feet away. It's pretty close.
Starting point is 00:39:24 Okay. And then I roll up to him, 23. 23 is a hit. Two hands. Whatcha. Eight points of damage. And you're raging to get an additional plus two, correct? Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I also have something else called the Storm Strike. Or it's actually spelled out Strom Strike, but that sounds like a delicious pasta dish. Strom. I'm not sure which one was. Basically it says with a strike of your Warhammer, i.e. attack a blustery gale incites a howling rage into all enemies and allies within a 10-foot radius.
Starting point is 00:39:55 All creatures within range must make a DC-14 charisma saving throw. There's like passes and fails and stuff like that. But then below that, it says blinded by rage, enraged creatures lose the ability to distinguish friend from foe, which might be great because... Yeah, you did this once. They're surrounded, but additionally a protective gale surrounds the creature, granting them resistance to bludging, piercing, and slatching damage.
Starting point is 00:40:17 So it's got some boo-boos along with some fun things. Do we want to get chaos? You want to get nuts? Let's get nuts. Do it. Let's get nuts! All right, so I want to use Storm strike then. I feel like we're always nuts.
Starting point is 00:40:28 Okay, Stromstrike. Strong strike, sorry. I'm just thinking of like stromboli. So we'll deal with the result of the physical attack first. Okay. The strike of the gavel of Gailstrom. And then after that, we'll do the rolls and deal with the Stromstrike portion of that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:45 And I'm making sure that this isn't like an additional. I just had the one charge. It doesn't say anything about bonuses or any bonus action. It's probably like a, it procks with the attack. Right, yeah. That's exactly how it works. Okay, so you get 10 points of damage on that flesh warper who seems to be caught flat-footed by it. And it's funny because now their body is entirely flat as the gavel comes down and squishes them and stops that particular flesh-warper from moving.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I can't wait to hear the sound effect for that in this episode. Yeah. Oh, that's even better. All right, so metagame-wise, there are now only nine flesh whoppers you have to contend with. But now your Stromstrike prox, and they have to make any enemy an ally within 10 feet, must make a DC-14 charisma saving throw. I'm going to be kind, question mark here, and say that none of your allies are probably within 10 feet of you
Starting point is 00:41:40 because you explicitly said you moved away from everyone to go to the entrance. The entrance to wait for the prospector. So all your allies are safe. We'll say that there are two additional flush warpers within 10 feet of you that both must make DC-14 charisma saves. So I'm going to roll those right now. Okay. The charisma save is minus three, so I need a 17 or better on these to succeed.
Starting point is 00:42:00 Show me potato salad. Oh, it's a 12 and an 18. So one of them succeeds, one of them does not. Okay. Then I'll read out the, what happens now. On a failed save, the creature is knocked prone by the blustery gale and becomes enraged for up to one minute. On a successful save, the creature is just knocked prone by the blustery gale. So they're both knocked prone.
Starting point is 00:42:21 The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turn. A creature automatically succeeds if it is immune to being charmed. Oh, are they immune to being charmed? Uh-oh. I don't think they are. I'm pretty sure that they're not immune to being charmed. Cool. So one is both are prone, one is raging.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Yeah, right. And doesn't know friend or foe. Correct. Okay, so you have killed one flesh warper and rendered two prone, one of whom is enraged at the moment. And I have 40 feet of distance and I have a second attack. Can I go for another one independent of the two? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Great. Then I'm going to run up to another one and give him a good two-handed wallup. That's a 22. That's a hit. Rolling a damage. Oh, this guy can see him's no chance. Nine. Oh, plus two.
Starting point is 00:43:10 So 11. 11. 9-11. Guys, we can never forget what he just did. Once again, your Gaville Gailstrom comes down successfully. Squishing this flesh warper, erasing it from the initiative order. All right, so that is two flesh warpers that you have eliminated now, Tov, and then two are incapacitated, leaving at the, or I should say they're prone,
Starting point is 00:43:32 leaving six that are currently standing. Is there anything else you could do, anything else you want to do? With my remaining movement, I'll do that sandwalk from Dune so that the prospector doesn't know where I am. Oh. Oh. I'll slide, and then I'll do a skip, and then I'll do double. You know the sandwalk, right, John?
Starting point is 00:43:52 Mm-hmm. Yeah. I do that. I didn't know why he was doing it at first. Just for fun, roll me a dexterity check. No, not dexterity check. Make me a acrobatics check. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:03 You do that. 17. Oh, it's pretty good. Okay. I don't know. We might need that later. Let's find out. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:09 That's it for Toll, which means up next is Natty and then Gunther. Natty is going to turn to the closest Dixie Driller. Mm-hmm. And ask them, is there a name for the wrong? room we're in right now? Like, is there like, because you guys like, you guys have like your maps, I'm sure to like determine where you are in the mine. Is there this ziggarot shaped room? Is there a name for it? This here is the nexus of minds. Oh, okay. I wondered if it was the nexus of the mines because I remember when I was young, we used to go and, and explore the minds. And I remember this
Starting point is 00:44:44 particular room. And I remember one time me and my friends, we found a little hatch. right in the center of the room that went down further onto the ground and had a direct path back to the Silent Steve Temple. Look at that. We did not remind everyone of that mechanic at the beginning of this episode, but John making a callback to the flashback mechanic where he can invent some lore on the fly, and then there's a chance it could become real.
Starting point is 00:45:13 I think I had a gun right here, AR-15. That's right. Full ammo. I remember I buried it right under here. Oh, yeah. And a bazooka. And this one called the Undarion Slayer that kills Undarians just by pointing it at them. Yeah, I hit the vial with the pathogen that only infects Indarians.
Starting point is 00:45:35 That's the one. Okay, so I'm going to read how the mechanic works real fast, and then we'll go through it. So as John just did, or as Natty just did, the player narrates or roleplays the flashback concept. So in this case, used to come here as a kid to the next. There was a hatch that would take you to the lower levels. And then the player, John, rolls 2D6. And then depending on the outcome of the roll that dictates how things play out.
Starting point is 00:46:00 So go and roll me those 2D6 and we'll deal with the results here. There's a 3 and a 5. I do have an inspiration dice, and I'm almost feeling like I should use it for the 3. Typically, the inspiration die is just a D20, like for some kind of check roll. Oh, okay. But I think that this would be a fun use of it.
Starting point is 00:46:18 of it. So if you want to, you're more than welcome to. Yeah, I'll use it since I brought it up. I'll use it. I'll use it. I got another five. So 10, 10. Lucky for you on a roll of 10 or greater, the scenario is just as you remembered it. Yeah. Wow. And additionally, there's an opportunity present or an insight to be gleaned. So you, yeah, you say that, you know, you talk about the nexus with the Dixie Driller here.
Starting point is 00:46:45 And he says, oh, is that with that hatches. It's right over there. And he points by a mind cart. We just been peeing in it during our breaks. That's the latrine now. It's not very deep either. That's the poo patch. That's the potty hole. You're in trouble.
Starting point is 00:47:07 And you said that from your memories that it would lead straight to the temple for the silent Steve? Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, it's exactly as you recall. You know, go big or go home and you're making up a lie. Mm-hmm. He points out the hat. and you see it, yeah, not too far.
Starting point is 00:47:20 We'll say it's 10 feet away from you, Natty. Okay, Natty would go over and open the hatch and motion for all the sad Dixie drillers to start getting down into the hole. Like, come on, y'all, we're gonna get you out of here. Let's go. It's a prison break. We should make sound design for Micah
Starting point is 00:47:37 to make his job easier and for Alina. So everyone should voice the sad drillers that are now moving. Yeah, and they all sound like me. Here we go. Gee, we haroldenadee! I want to go in my pisshole. Oh, I just pinch the loaf in there. I hate that term so much.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Can you use that, Micah? Good, all right. I got a thumbs up for Micah. There we go. You're welcome. You're welcome. Okay, so you begin, you know, motioning to the Dixie drillers and getting them down the hatch.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Is there anything else you want to do on your turn, Natty? What? Do you, Dungeon Master, think I have left in my turn as far as, like, what can I do? Action or just a bonus action or just move? I think Flashback would probably be a bonus action. Then if you move to the... That was moving. That would be moving.
Starting point is 00:48:34 So you'd have, like, an additional action left. Okay. Whether it's attack, a double move, or whatever. Yeah, so the Andarians, there's four that were in the vicinity of Tov. And then, well, he managed to do. things to four of them. And then there's like six more that are kind of just spread out around the room. Yes. And then we got a, and then we got a secret prospect who's going to pop up out of a birthday cake in a second. Yes, yes. Shoot, what should I do with that? I will. You know what? Just just take some of the
Starting point is 00:49:03 ads down. I'm going to shoot a flesh warper. Yeah, flesh warper. I guess not any of ones that Tov messed with. Correct. So some of the ones that are still standing and could conceivably act. Yeah, just pick the closest one to wherever Natty is in the room. Yeah, take a shot. I will. That's a 14. That's a hit. Oh, nice. Roll 3.10.
Starting point is 00:49:24 10. Okay, yeah, that flesh warper explodes. Whatever Eldridge energy was holding its disgusting flesh together, fails to bind, and the flesh warper explodes into many little fleshy pieces. Gross. Anybody ever played the Sega Genesis game Clay Fighters? Yeah, yeah. You keep talking about what's happening to them,
Starting point is 00:49:44 and for some reason, I just went back in time to a game that I'm sure almost nobody, but Gustavus Orl remembers. Yeah, man, I have not thought... I remember the Snowman. I know it. I watched a documentary on it recently for some reason. I have not thought about the game in forever.
Starting point is 00:49:55 It's like from that era of like, like, moral combat and, and killer instinct and all that kind of stuff. That's cool. All right, another one. Let's shoot another one. Like, flesh warpers in a mine. That's a Nat 20.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Believe it or not, that hits. Yeah. All right. And then I roll my D-10. That's five plus four is nine, plus three is 12. And I'm assuming I need to do the, do the crit stuff. Yeah, he gone.
Starting point is 00:50:21 He gone. No, this one also explodes into a clay fighter giblets. Yeah, jiblets. Good word. Yeah, you made me think about old video game terminology. That was like what they called the gore back in like quake days. Oh, did they? Yeah, the jiblets.
Starting point is 00:50:37 That's Natty's turn then. And Natty's just going to keep me like, come on y'all. Get in there. Get in there. Natty is conducting an evacuation of the Dixie drillers. You see that from your perspective. Gunther, what do you want to do? And then after Gunther is Fleshwarpers and then Doug? The prospect, how did he dig down exactly?
Starting point is 00:50:53 What did he... He's got that giant drill attached to his left hand, like a big daddy from Bioshock, and he just like pounded it straight into the ground and it moved the earth and he was able to fall straight into it. What I would like to do is get to a place where I can, like, ready an action for whenever he reappears to attack and do disarming strike. Okay, yeah, so the prock will be, when he reappears, you will disarmie strike him. Yeah. Where do you want to position yourself for that?
Starting point is 00:51:23 Could I stick my ear to the ground? Right where the drill's going to come out of the ground. Like, try and listen to see if I can peer where he might be. I would love if it came up into Gunther's ear and then Gunther's just spinning around at the end. It's like that point in like a horror movie when someone like looks through like the peephole and the killer's on the other side. You know what's going to happen? I hate that. And it's like, oh, I don't see anything.
Starting point is 00:51:49 And all of a sudden, an eyeball appears. Yeah. Yeah. Gunther, make me a investigation check. If I may, so just... Hey, Gus. Hey, Gus. May, Chris?
Starting point is 00:52:01 May he? No, but. With survival, because it's, like, tracking foes and whatnot. Oh, that's an interesting idea. But... Roll me a luck die, Chris. Roll a D20. Is this a diet?
Starting point is 00:52:16 He's outsource saying no to the dice. That's what he's done now. Not 20. No. Still. That's a 17. So 17. Luck is in your favor.
Starting point is 00:52:27 So yes, it can be a survival check instead. He's just like, oh, this one was a golf luck, bro. So the higher, it was bad. So, yeah, it's a no. All right. That was an 11. I will use my inspiration diet. It's confidence.
Starting point is 00:52:42 And. Ha, ha. Ha. An 11 and a 7. I might get something. Yeah, you put your ear down to the ground to give a listen, but rather than hearing the prospector move around, you hear the many footsteps of Dixie Drillers
Starting point is 00:52:56 as they file into the passageway and begin trying to escape from the combat. Shh, be quiet. Is there anything above that I could, like, get up on and then drop down from? Yeah, there's mine carts and crates and red barrels, you name it. Watch over the red barrels, be careful. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Then I will, yeah, trying to get to, whatever kind of central point of the room, probably, and then just jump up and hang on, you know, be off the ground so I could get a drop on them, literally. And if there's a pickaxe, I want to pick one up. Yes, there's a, wait, didn't you pick one up already? Yeah, and it broke. Oh, right, right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Yes, there's another pickaxe. You could pick that up. Yeah, you pick up a pickaxe and begin climbing to get a higher ground on top of some crates. And as you settle up on top of the crates, and you survey the battlefield, you hear what appears to be maybe some kind of muffled whistle
Starting point is 00:53:49 similar to the whistling you heard that preceded the arrival of a prospector. It helps you guide you more or less, it's not a precise location, but you know more or less what direction in the mind to focus your attention on. Okay, yeah, and I...
Starting point is 00:54:02 I'm ready. Okay, so you stand ready. Which means up next we've got flesh warpers, of which there's only four standing. They're going to shuffle around. Tollvis over there. dropped a few. Doug has not gone yet. Natty, are you in the passage yet?
Starting point is 00:54:18 You're not, right? You're still guiding Dixie Dilderism? I'm, you know, women and children firsting. Okay. Oh, sweet. Why does that drow look like Billy Zane trying to get in front of everybody? He's holding a small trow baby. That doesn't look anything like him. Wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:54:34 So then there's four who can act right now. I'm going to say two of them are going to go after 12 and two of them going to go after Doug because Doug has not gone yet. It's old. Okay, so the first two head over towards Toll, you who. You saw what into your friends, you sure this is what you want to do? You sure you don't want to get that bug bear over there?
Starting point is 00:55:00 Two of them go up and attack View Toll. They take a swipe with their hands, which have claws attached to the end of them. How quaint, how cool. So that's a 20 and a 26. Okay, yeah, that hits. Okay, they both hit. Wait, hold on, let me get my shield, hold on. No, no, it doesn't work that way.
Starting point is 00:55:20 No. The non-crit flesh warper flashes at you doing eight points of damage. Go ahead and make me a constitution saving throw, Toll. Okay, dokey. Not bad. 24. Okay. The slash, the wound that you received from that flesh warper burns and itches,
Starting point is 00:55:35 but you're able to, you know, grit your teeth and, you know, suppress the urge to scratch it and fuss with it. The second one also attacks. This one's a critical, so it's double damage. It does 16 points of slashing damage. And that's also a toll? Yes. Is this a constitution? And yes, once again, make a constitution saving throw.
Starting point is 00:55:54 That is a 14. Okay, yeah. This one burns even more than the first one. But again, you know, you're used to it. You summon your inner strength. You rewrite your code to diminish the pain, and you're able to overcome it. Diaperash.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Okay. I have resistance to slashing, so it'd be four and eight points. Yeah. Okay, 12 points total. So then we move over to Doug. The first one comes up and takes a swipe at you. I'm going to do yours one at the time. The first one takes a swipe at you hitting a C-15 plus six, that's 21.
Starting point is 00:56:31 Hmm, yeah. Don't it's it's... Don't it's... Don't it's... Get the cone we got for Doug. It slashes at you doing eight points of damage. I just been standing here. And you're going to roll me a Constitution saving throw.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Okay, coming in, hi. That's the other one. 25. Oh, great. It's just a flesh wound. You're able to ignore it. It's not that bad. The second one shambles up to you also lashing out,
Starting point is 00:56:56 hitting a C. 24. That hits as well. All right, so that's an additional eight points of slashing damage and roll me another Constitution saving throw. Okay. I'm going to use my inspiration nine for that
Starting point is 00:57:09 because that was a nine. Constitution's saving throw, 26. Man, this is some good roles. Thanks to the inspiration die. And a good constitution. Yeah, once again, it's a slight itch, slight burn, but not too much. It doesn't bother you too much. Okay.
Starting point is 00:57:24 So that was two, two, then the other two are down. They can end their prone condition at the end of their turn per the effect. So it's now the end of their turn? Is it the prone or the rage they end at the end of their turn? The prone ends at the end of their turn. and the other one is still enraged for one minute, which is 10 rounds. Okay. So they're all standing now, one of whom is enraged.
Starting point is 00:57:47 So that was their turn, which takes us to Doug. Kind of want to help Natty get people into the hole. I got them. Shoot the bad guys. Okay, fine. I will use my firebolt handtrip. Dahlia. I guess I shouldn't shoot the one that's enraged. What's Dala mean?
Starting point is 00:58:07 Give it. It's what Pitbull always says. Yeah, it's fun. I mean, it's like a guy's last name too. I didn't know. It's just like, give effort. Okay. Is it the same as Dali or Dallet? D-A-L-E.
Starting point is 00:58:17 Related to or not to Salvador. That's D-A-L-I. That's what I was asking. Yeah. All right, so which one do you want to target? Doug. Should I target the one that's enraged? Sounds like a party question or a personal question.
Starting point is 00:58:30 I'll do that. That one might attack. It's friends. So get the ones that attack us. Okay, fine. That's how that rage works. Yeah, yeah. I'll shoot one.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Is there one near Tov? Yeah, there are currently two standing near Toll. I'll take the one on his left. That one's itchy. The other one is scratchy. Itchy. I'll take itchy. I've named them.
Starting point is 00:58:52 Shoot my firebolt. That is a 25 to hit. Wow. Yeah, that hits. And that will do some excellent. Wow. Eleven points of fire damage. That one explodes in a from the force of the firebolt.
Starting point is 00:59:09 Okay. Does it get on me? Luckily, you close your mouth just in time so that it doesn't get in your mouth. Okay, cool. And then I do have a second attack, so I will attack the one on his right. Scratchy. Scratchy, yes. That is an 18 to hit.
Starting point is 00:59:24 That hits. Okay, and that will do eight points of fire damage. That hits and that flesh warper also explodes leaving behind a puddle of goo. Splash zone over here. Splash, I was taking a bath. So there are only four flesh warpers left. It's the two that were immediately by you that had attacked you, Doug. And then the two that had been knocked prone initially who are now stabbed.
Starting point is 00:59:49 Okay. Well, I think Gambot will go and attack one of the ones that's by me. Okay. And he will roll on up to them and do his little force-empowered rend with D20 plus seven. Nat 20, 27 to hit. Ooh, nice. I assume that does. And then a one D8 plus.
Starting point is 01:00:09 That's a 10 points of damage. Okay, yeah. Gambot does his patented little uppercut and launches a flesh warper airborne. And it dissolves in midair as it's flying through the cavern. You get them, Gambut! I think it's just great that we were able to cast Peter Cullen, voice of Optimus Prime for Gambot. I think that was such a big get, and I'm really excited about that collab. Yeah, I think so, too.

Starting point is 01:02:36 The Valentine Heresy, a Warhammer 40K RPG podcast. Follow and listen to it on your platform of choice now. Okay, so now there's only one near Doug and then the other two which were previously prone Which takes us to the prospector and I didn't forget about you reading your action Chris So we'll we'll deal with that in just a second the ground begins rumbling slightly beneath all of your feet And you see earth begin being disturbed and the tip of the drill pierce out from underground And the drill slowly exposes more and more until eventually the hole's big enough for the prospector to jump out And he clambers on out, surveys the room, sees various flesh wharpers fallen,
Starting point is 01:03:25 and furrows his brow in anger. Gunther, this is the condition you had set for a disarming attack, I believe? Yeah. How far away is he for me? We'll say that he's probably 15 feet away. And we're sure this isn't some sort of like automatic Christmas tree type decoration that rises from the ground. There is no tinsel. I repeat, there is no tinsel.
Starting point is 01:03:48 My God. All right, I want to do my attack and... And I... And I... Captain Grumbull's pistol. He rolled a 17 with this. Oh, that is a hit. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Activate disarming attack. I want to hopefully disarm his drilling thing. Can you... A question just because I don't... I actually don't know. Can you disarm with a ranged weapon like that? I checked. When you hit a...
Starting point is 01:04:19 with an attack roll. You can expend once a priority die to attempt to disarm the target. Add this peority die to the attack's damage roll, the target must succeed on a strength-saving throw or drop one object of your choice from its holding. Okay. Without its holding with the object landing in its face. Okay, so let's roll some damage to figure out what the roll is. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:04:39 So let's see, this is the additional damage. That's six plus... Wait, you didn't roll the actual damage, though. Oh, yeah, yeah. That's just as pey already die because it headed up. Okay. Ooh. Not bad. That's 13 plus 6, 19 total damage.
Starting point is 01:04:54 And that's piercing. So 13 from the pistol and then 6 from the superiority die. So the target, the prospector must succeed on a strength saving throw. So his strength saving throw is plus 5. Okay. This says target, a strength saving throw against the weapon action DC. That'd be plus 8. So then that would be 10 plus 8, 18.
Starting point is 01:05:18 I think, I was thinking 16, 18, somewhere in that neighborhood. Let's see what I'm going to roll a D20 and add five to it. Okay, 25. Dang it! Yeah, you fire at the prospector, you take aim with your pistol, and fire at the bifurcated pickaxe with jagged blades that he's holding in his right hand. But he like turns it and, you know, he still gets hit, but he kind of deflects the shot a little bit and manages to tighten his grip on the axe.
Starting point is 01:05:45 And you hear him mutter under his breath. I'll keep the chains, you filthy anil. Think of really, I brought six. Six chains? A six shooter. Oh, can I take my other attack action? Yeah, you can fire again if you want, if you got another shot. Oh, 24.
Starting point is 01:06:05 You sound disappointed, but that is a hit. No, no, that was me being. Ah, it's good, it's good. It was just crisp breathing. That's 14. Okay, so 14 points of damage. And I believe I understand this great. I can't do two superiority dices on the same attack,
Starting point is 01:06:22 but I can't do it on a different attack, I think is what we... Is that what we determined? I thought you could do one a turn. As the rules written, I believe it's one per tack. But unless we're... I believe it's once per turn. I'm getting verification here. But Gus, what if you just trusted what Chris said?
Starting point is 01:06:39 Yeah, have you considered that? When has that gone wrong for you? DM in Kyborg Quest, I'm seeing just how much Chris will like... Chris was born to go. to some country to like haggle street vendors, you know? That's just like, that's calling in life, I feel. Breaking the game. So, okay, from what I'm understanding,
Starting point is 01:06:55 you can use multiple superiority die in a turn, just not on the same attack. The reason being that you don't have very many superiority die, and that is the limiting factor. Yeah. Not the fact, like if you had a ton of superiority to die, then yeah, it would be one per turn. But since you have so few,
Starting point is 01:07:10 you can use that limited number per turn. It's kind of a home group podcasting rule is from what I'm gathering here. I've got the Council of DMs and Google Open kind of verifying information here. Ah, the worst DM. Not Jim and I, Google. Still bad. Still bad.
Starting point is 01:07:31 All right. Then I'll once again try and disarm him. So disarming. Thank you, Barbara. And I rolled that, that was an extra seven damage. For the superiority diet, and then for the actual attack, I rolled 14 damage. Is that right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Okay. So 21 total. So I'm going to contradict something I said a little while ago. Oh, no. And give an explanation for it. Micah, insert a record scratch right here. We don't use nearly enough record scratches on the show. I agree, I will say.
Starting point is 01:08:00 So you're probably wondering how I got here. Yes. I think what we've said before is we're actually do one superiority die per turn. And the reason is that in order to keep combat moving so that I guess we don't do this that we don't have multiple superiority die, kind of slowing combat down. So in the interest of keeping combat moving, what has been ruled before,
Starting point is 01:08:21 and I guess what we're going to continue ruling, is that it is one superiority die per turn. If you guys listen very carefully, you can hear Micah, and he is hammering the chisel away at the Ten Commandments of our podcast and changing things. The limiting factor about you not having very many, so you get to use them as much as you can per turn,
Starting point is 01:08:38 that is a rule some people do for homebrew for podcasting, but that is not the way we interpret the rule here on this show. It's one per turn. Okay. Oh, I still shot him. Okay, now I'll put the law order, law and order, dung-dung thing right now. And Elena, I want these sound effects, okay?
Starting point is 01:08:53 Micah says you're more tasteful than him, but I want these sound effect. Thank you, Parm. Sorry to tease you like that. I still shot him, right? But yes, you still do shoot him. Then I want to action search. Okay, I'm going to take this damage first, right?
Starting point is 01:09:06 Because you did this damage already. Uh-huh. So you do shoot him a second time with your pistol, doing a total of 14 points of damage. And that is successful. All right. Get out of here. And then I action search.
Starting point is 01:09:18 Action search. How does it's going through say? Action search. I didn't like that. It's different every time. It's a question. It sounded like garbage day. I'm going to do it like that now.
Starting point is 01:09:31 Okay. Action search. He's even holding a gun in that video too. Bam, bam. The prospector looks down and he's holding a garbage can. Wait, wait out! What is that? It's Silent Night Deadly Night.
Starting point is 01:09:48 Silent Night Deadly Night. Two maybe. I don't remember if it's one or two. Anyway. So you action surge. Just to be understanding. Action surging is a new turn so I can't use the superiority die again. It's a new turn?
Starting point is 01:10:02 It's essentially a whole new action. We have done that before. It's just blowing through goodwill. Like, it's nothing. It's not goodwill. As the rule, like, what is this stuff? What is this? Oh, it's Gus is interest in me.
Starting point is 01:10:18 It's gone. Okay, so I'll say yes, because you can. I think that... Because we want to keep going. Right. Like, I mean, the spirit is to keep combat movie typically, but you only get, like, one action search per long rest, right? Or something like that?
Starting point is 01:10:37 Per short rest, but we hardly ever short rest. Yeah, we'll say yes. But help me remember this for next time. No to second attacks, but yes, to action search. I will remember that for you, guys. Thank you, Barbara. Taking inspiration document. Watch forward to five episodes where he's like,
Starting point is 01:10:51 I think we're, you said both. We can do both. All right, so go ahead and make that attack roll for me. Gunther. Gunther goes, boom. It's like, you know, where people have lightsabors, they still go whing-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch. Do they?
Starting point is 01:11:05 Oh, I do. 27. I remember Luke Skywalker going. I don't remember that. It was, I did read a trivia that behind-the-scenes. they would make sound effects. Yeah. I think also when people shoot the lasers,
Starting point is 01:11:16 they go like pew, pew, pew, pew. 19 plus 8, 27, that is a hit. All right. I'm going to try and disarm him. How disarm me. Every time. I'm going to save my result until after you go to increase the suspense.
Starting point is 01:11:28 Okay, good. All right, so how much damage did you do? 13. 13 points of damage. It's seven from the pistol. Six from the superiority die. Doing a disarming attack. DC 18 strength.
Starting point is 01:11:37 I have plus five on my strength. Save you throw. I rolled a five, which is a 10. So that is a fail. Your, the bullet flies from the pistol and the prospector tries to move his pickaxe to deflect the second or the third shot, but fails this time the bifurcated axe goes flying from his... Cool. I'll run up and just attack it with the pickaxe. Okay, so you dive down, got their dives down heroically from the top of the boxes or the crates to land in front of the prospector and lashes out with his pickaxe.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Doing... Hitting AC. Ten. Ooh, that's a miss. Yeah, maybe you're distracted looking at the bifurcated axe laying on the ground. Yeah, probably I'm like, oh, it looks shiny. And then when I do a have rallying search, when you action search, your allies can either up to the number of my allies equal to my charisma modifier,
Starting point is 01:12:29 each of those allies can immediately take your reaction to use one of the following actions, either attack, one attack with a weapon or on armstrike, or move up to half its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks. Everyone, run! Okay, it's one person per your... Minimum one, so that's one person. Oh, okay, yeah. So you can choose one person, Gunther.
Starting point is 01:12:52 Where's everyone... Spacially? Naddy is by the hatch leading people down. Doug is somewhere relatively close to that area. I would say not like buy it, but over there. And then Tov has moved himself closer to the entrance where the prospector had entered from. If you look closely, Doug is actually like trying to like get in the hatch,
Starting point is 01:13:12 but then like the drought keep going in so he's doing the awkward back and side. Oh, yeah, no, you go first, you go first. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you next. Maybe they'll soak up all the urine before I go in there. Like sponges. Then I guess, uh, Toll, because he's not. Because he's further?
Starting point is 01:13:29 Yeah, he's like, he can also if he wants to get away from the, uh, whatever guys. Blas Swappers. Cole, you have a reaction. You can either move or attack. Move without provoking an attack of opportunity or attack. Okay. I think I'm going to run. What is the actual term for that?
Starting point is 01:13:46 What Chris said, he said everybody, right. Is there anybody that's close enough to me? Or actually, how far is the prospector? Or is it just one or the other? If I have somebody within range, I attack them or I move. I would say it's one or the other. You either attack or move based on the way that it's written. Is anybody within five feet of me?
Starting point is 01:14:04 Yes, because there are the ones that got knocked thrown. So you have two close to you. Okay. I'll take a swingling, swing a ding-dong on one of those guys. I don't like that. I'm quite a new term. I don't like that.
Starting point is 01:14:16 Yeah, we're putting out a shirt. Swinglingle ding-dong. No, we are not. Should we... Okay, I'm going to hit the guy that's just prone, not the one that's raging prone. Gosh, they're both standing,
Starting point is 01:14:28 but the one that is not raging. Yeah, because the other one's crazy. Ooh. Yeah. All right. He's got crazy eyes. Crazy eyes. Do you go nuts?
Starting point is 01:14:36 Let's go nuts. Let's go nuts. 23. That's a hit. All right. That was two-handed. So that's a... seven plus two because I'm raging. Nine.
Starting point is 01:14:45 Yeah, that flesh worker is cleaved in two and both halves fall to the ground. It's like guacamole down here. This is so much fun. Then like those worms, the two halves turned into their own person. Is that real? Is that a thing that we've proven that was not real?
Starting point is 01:15:00 Worms? In very specific cases. Cutting in half and then turning into two things? Oh, like when you cut... Yeah, I was told that as a kid. I believed that up until like maybe two years ago. Yeah. Well, anyways, that was my swing-a-ling and laying a dink.
Starting point is 01:15:11 Dong, uh, stop it. Stop it. What? I don't like it. Okay, all right. So we're on the dingonong. All right. Now it is the prospector's turn.
Starting point is 01:15:19 Can the prospector kill everybody on my team real quick? Everybody. Oh, it solves so many problems. Me included. Doug, me first. Me first. I don't want him to go in the pit hole. Please.
Starting point is 01:15:38 Please, it's the pee holes. Oh, sorry. My bad. proper people, the shady pine drought. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, and his pickax is on the ground at his feet. Okay, he begins whistling, and you hear a whistling echoing throughout the cavern all around you, and it seems to grow in intensity.
Starting point is 01:15:57 All of you make me a wisdom saving throw. Spooky! 17 for Doug. Six, for Natty. Twelve. For count there. Three, four, twelve. with pride.
Starting point is 01:16:15 The Andy Griffith show theme echoes through your mind, haunting your every thought. All four of you are frightened by the tune. Even with the 17? Mm-hmm. Dang. And you cannot move until the end of your next turn. Is that in addition to being frightened? Right, correct.
Starting point is 01:16:33 It's both statuses. You're frightened and you cannot move until the end of your next turn. Having successfully whistled, the prospector reaches down and picks up his bifurcated pickaxe. and takes a swing at you, Gunther, with his bifurcated pickaxe, hitting a C-12, which I'm going to assume is a miss. Nah, it misses. And he takes a second swing with it, hitting a C-16. That misses. And that is garbage.
Starting point is 01:17:03 For you. Pardon my French. Yeah, the prospector takes some swings and misses. And is he going to do anything else? he will He sees the The drillers escaping Alright I'm gonna roll a luck die
Starting point is 01:17:18 Low is bad for you guys High is good for you guys Alright Two Yeah Wait what did you say The prospector then Takes some movement
Starting point is 01:17:30 And goes and stands by the hatch Menacing the Dixie drillers As they continue to try to make their way Now he just puts up her hand and says Waitch turn Okay So he's in a position to threaten the escape. All right. And that would be it for the prospector, which takes us back up to the top,
Starting point is 01:17:50 which is Tov. So it's Tov Natty Gunther. I can't move because of my stupid, the whistle song, right? But I think that there's one guy that I had knocked prone earlier. He's the crazy one. Correct. And so there's, oh wait, hold on. I'm sorry. I forgot something. I think that's what Mike's saying. Yep, Micah, you said the thing. I just remembered. Before you can go, Toll, just to reset the scene, there are two flesh warpers remaining. There is the one in front of you, Tov, who is enraged at the moment, and there's the one that's over by Doug. And before, you know, you're kind of sizing up, trying to figure out what your next move is, Toll. And, like, right in front of your eyes, that flesh warper splits in half. Or I should say, like, a second flesh warper emerges from him.
Starting point is 01:18:35 And now there are two flesh warpers standing in front of you, Toll, and Doug, there are two standing in front of you. you as well. This is like the movie men. I never saw it. And I hate it. It's a bad movie. You missed a bad one. I heard their opinions were very divided, so I did not watch that one.
Starting point is 01:18:51 Oh, I'm on the... Great director. Bad movie. Zero out of five stars for me, babe. Zero, zero. So, Tov, there are actually two flesh warpers standing in front of you. Perfect. Perfect.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Well, yeah, because I want to kill more. So I'm going to do that. I'm going to attack thing number one. Okay. 18. I believe you. your attack rolls are at disadvantage because of the frightened status. I don't want them to be.
Starting point is 01:19:15 All right, that was an 18 and a 21, so 18. All right, that hits. Does it matter? Yep. Academic. Yeah, y'o, y'all, y'all. Wait, does only one of them take the rage thing and then the other one, like, comes out normal? He's like, what's up with this guy? Manor roll a luck die.
Starting point is 01:19:28 Low, no, high, they're both enraged. Okay, not 20. 20, they're both enraged. Why did I wish for a 20? All right, anyways, I'll do damage them. Well, there's a, there's a chance. If you miss, there's still the wild card. It's a backup.
Starting point is 01:19:41 That is 11 points of damage plus 2, so 13. 13 points of bludgeoning damage from the gavel of Gailstrom turns this flesh warper inactive. Okay. And then I will take another swipe at thing number two. Okay. At disadvantage. So that's a 18 and a 17.
Starting point is 01:20:05 Not bad, not bad. Man, even with disadvantage. Good rolls. Yeah. You're able to successfully hit. 17 magazine. Let's say, nine plus, plus two, 11.
Starting point is 01:20:17 What was that? It was my Chewbacca, who's my inner-working? Eleven. 11, but we said that this one also has, yeah, that effect because of the Strom strike. But again, academic, this flesh warper ceased. So, yeah, you have vanquished both flesh warpers by you, which means there's only two left on the battlefield,
Starting point is 01:20:37 and both of them are by Doug at the moment. Oh. Those are all my attacks. I can't move. Correct. But as a bonus action, you gain advantage of a stranger. When it activated one creature,
Starting point is 01:20:50 when we say, like, I have a bonus action and I will, and then you can just hear it. When activated one creature of your choice in your aura, makes a DC-14 deck saving throw, taking 1D6 lightning damage on failure or half as much on success. In your aura? What's my aura?
Starting point is 01:21:04 I'm pretty... I think your aura is small, if I recall part of it. I want to say it's 10 feet. It says range area. It says reach. So maybe just five feet then. Yeah. So yeah, you don't have anyone in that area at the moment.
Starting point is 01:21:19 Okay. But, however, there's no, hey, there's nothing that's stopping this from, there's no, it's not ammo. So I want to do it anyways. There's no rule that says a dog can't play basketball. Yeah, so I was waiting for it. Yeah. So I'm just still going to like light it up. Maybe to give a little distraction, you know, that the guy looks over.
Starting point is 01:21:38 All right. You fire it up and, you know, the air crackles with energy all around you. Cachow. That's my turn. Guitar. Lighty. All right. After 12 is Natty, then Gunther, then the flesh warper.
Starting point is 01:21:52 So Natty, you're up. Can't move. You think the prospector had onions for lunch. It's, ooh. Thank you for that. I don't think there's much I can do because I can't attack. I don't think I can attack the prospector, right, with frightened condition. I can't move towards them.
Starting point is 01:22:06 And you have a disadvantage on ability to check to attack rolls. Oh, so I could do it, it was just disadvantage. Right, and he is closer to you. I said that he did move over in the area of the hatch. So he's close to you. Sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally. Yeah, the one thing is you could not move
Starting point is 01:22:23 willingly closer to the source of your fear, but you can't move anyway, so that's, again, accurate. Yeah, I'm just going to shoot him. All right. With disadvantage. I'm just, I'm just going to shoot him. Is Natty drunk? I'm just going to shoot him.
Starting point is 01:22:37 I'm just going to shoot him. Mama needs a break. Give a wine shoe. Mama's having fun. 13 plus. What's my modifier? Seven? I think it's seven.
Starting point is 01:22:48 I think it's a dirty 20. Dirty 20. That's a disadvantage. Correct. So that is 16. Show me disadvantage. Yeah, that's still a hit. Wow.
Starting point is 01:22:57 Oh, dang. Hot darn. It's a 7 plus 4. 11. Demage. Plus 3. So 14. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:23:07 It's like 14 points of damage on the prospector Who you managed to use an elders blast right? Yes, sir Yeah, your elder's blast flies out and impacts him And he like furrows his brow as he looks at you But yeah, he is still standing I furrow my brow even more You ain't seen a brow this furrow before
Starting point is 01:23:27 How big are his eyebrows? Bigger than mine Oh my God, that's horrifying Sorry, God, that's prospect of that is pretty crazy I love my big eyebrows. I think they're cool. I need your eyebrows to fight Eugene Levy's eyebrows right now. And Kara Delavines.
Starting point is 01:23:44 Those are some eyebrow goals for Eugene Levy. Okay, anything else? 901? No. Just another Eldridge blast! Aha! Whoa! All right.
Starting point is 01:23:55 Didn't get much of a reaction from Gus. Are we in a mine or are we in a shooting gallery? That's 23. And that's 26. 2026. Eat my Eldridge Power. As always, I've got three conversations going on at the same time, John. But focus on me!
Starting point is 01:24:11 But yeah, that is a hit. 2 plus 4, 6 damage. Alright, you once again hit him and his eyebrows become angrier. They're on fire! Hey, Gus, add just a total of 8 more damage, because I forgot my agonizing blast for both of those. Just add 8 more damage. Go ahead, that's on the house, Gus. Take that. No, it's not. It's just something I, John forgot.
Starting point is 01:24:35 Just add that. Just add that eight more. You're welcome, Gus. Just add eight more. Did you get the eight more? Yes, I divided it four and four. Wait, what? What?
Starting point is 01:24:47 Because it's not eight total. It's four on the first one, four on the second one, right? Yes. Yeah. See, I added it four twice. What a difference. It's elementary. It's academic.
Starting point is 01:24:58 That's what I'm saying. It does make a difference when creatures have resistances, and when they're affected differently by different damage types. Yeah, that makes sense. The reason why I bring it up. Okay, and so then I'm going to use my superiority die, and I'm going to take another time. Stop. Get out of here.
Starting point is 01:25:14 I'm done. I'm done. Maddie's done. Maddie's done. Nadi lays down and goes asleep. Bye-bye. Oh, she's prone? It's prone. Yep. And eyes closed, eyes closed.
Starting point is 01:25:22 Sound machine on. Eye mask on. I mask on. What's the sound you guys use? Do you guys do sound machine? Brown noise. It does not make me poop. Yeah, it doesn't make me poop my bed.
Starting point is 01:25:31 That is actually real nice. Is it? Am I missing out on like a hack? It's just slightly different white noise. Yeah, it's a little, like not as sharp. Oh. Is that we used, Barbara? So we change it up.
Starting point is 01:25:44 We got a white noise. Oh. Now we have a dog. Do you guys roll the dice and see what comes up for the night? We used to, but now I just have a white noise machine for the dog. So that's just like always going. We should make a goonther white noise, green noise. No, it was just crazy.
Starting point is 01:25:58 You were the thing, remember? Oh, that's right. No, I need a long. Yeah, it is you. Like I says, two different types of rain at the same time. That is luxury. Wow. He imports both types.
Starting point is 01:26:08 I never thought that. It's not even a sound. He has a rain machine. It makes two different kinds of rain. Are you kidding? A rainmaker. Yes. That's a Matt Damon movie playing no.
Starting point is 01:26:19 It's Tom Cruise. Movie off. Movie off. Movie off. That's it for you. Right, Natty? You went, Mimi's? Yeah, I'm done.
Starting point is 01:26:28 I'm done. Oh, I'm different rain, man. Yeah, what would you think? Wait, Chris, say that for the microphone? Say that for the microphone? Oh, I'm thinking of rain, man. There you go. Don't even, don't even with me, okay?
Starting point is 01:26:38 Winner of this episode's movie of John Reisager. Oh, look, it's the old idiot. John, excellent driver, Risinger. Gunther, you are up next, but before you're able to go, the prospector begins firing up the drill attached to his left pad, and it begins spinning faster and faster.
Starting point is 01:26:56 And with a leap, he jumps straight up through the cave ceiling, drilling away the earth in front of him. as he disappears into the ceiling above. Everything is still for a moment and you hear nothing. When all of a sudden in the distance, you hear the very faint sound of a raven cough. And as you're looking at the hole,
Starting point is 01:27:12 a singular raven appears flying through the hole into the mine. It circles in wide arcs directly over you, Gunther, and it dives straight towards you, and at the last second you see in its claws is a rapier. It drops the rapier and falls to the ground out of exhaustion. Good, not down. Oh, it's your short, you're your short.
Starting point is 01:27:50 Barber's concerned about the life of this made-up bird that Gus just introduced. I thought maybe it cut itself on it accidentally while carrying it. It stumbles as it falls down and just skewers itself on the rear. It's like, it's a UPS delivery bird. That's the thing you ordered. Oh, I can't pick up the sword and say the bird? You can on the next episode of Tales on the Stinky Dragon. Oh, ah.
Starting point is 01:28:17 Oh. That means gunthreats to be near this bird. for an entire two weeks. Will I be destroyed by this evil bird? Will this bird be added to our party as another NPC? Tips. No. All right.

Join us in the tavern next time for another aromatic. adventure of Tales from the Stinky Dragon. Okay, and then I'm going to make sure that my shield isn't activated because I want to use double-handed. Oh, shield was activated.
Starting point is 01:31:33 That's all right. Caught myself. You just activated my trap card. Two hands. Watch out. Barbara loves Yu-Gio. Listen, today I learned it was Yu-Gi-O. I know that saying.
Starting point is 01:31:47 No idea what he's friend. It's an educational podcast. Teach me something. Barber's had to live and work in proximity of some of the biggest, dumbest nerds of our age for the past like 15, 20 years of her life. I'm so sorry, Barbara. The amount of knowledge she didn't want to get
Starting point is 01:32:07 from people about their interests. Force upon me. That's hard. That's hard. That's hard. And it's mostly men. Yeah. My favorite. Speaking of which, we need to figure out who knows more Pokemon, you or Kristen, because she has a vast knowledge. I bet you her brain is younger and more
Starting point is 01:32:22 and holds on to information better than mine. Can't argue with that. Mine is crumbling and disintegrating as I live and breathe. I see myself in that photo and I don't like it.
