Hello and welcome to Talking Baseball.
It's time, the episode of the year.
It is the trade draft.
The four horsemen are here.
Let's talk ball.
It's going to get fiscal.
What did you say fiscal?
Fiscal.
Barrio Nia.
Stop.
Stephen Matt's first pick.
You wouldn't do that if I wasn't here.
By me.
In Philly.
Hello and welcome to Talk in Baseball,
presented to you by Fanatics Markets,
where fans trade on sports.
My name is Jake Storrelli, an absolute honor.
To my right, it's the Chris Rose.
Stop.
To his right, it's the Jolly Olive.
And technically to his right, if you kept going circular,
it's Trevor Plou, former Philadelphia Philly,
making his homecoming.
Just chugged to Celsius, no free ads.
Watch out people.
Rob Seraco producing.
Walton Feeley put the sheet together.
For our fifth annual trade draft, let's get some, hey, how are you is before we let Chris Rose cook?
Trev, you can have the honors back in your hometown.
I appreciate that.
Yeah, I stayed not too far from here when I was actually a Philly.
That's great.
Chris Rose and I had a great flight this morning.
Sure did.
Sat across from each other, so I didn't really have to pay attention to him, but he was within reach if I needed something.
What does that mean?
Just like, you know, my dad.
It's good for you, thanks.
You were a little terrified on the way down.
We were the last plane to get in before a huge thunderstorm struck.
They told us that as we landed.
They said, we were the last plane to get in.
We just beat the weather.
And then literally 15 seconds later, it just started pouring.
This entire city is in ruins, by the way.
There's trees down everywhere, which is crazy.
But we are working.
Yeah.
And Jake slept through the whole storm.
Yeah, I did.
I didn't.
It was actually delightful.
I, uh, 7 a.m. train up this morning.
Uh, we went to the fan village, which was crazy.
We thought we were going to beat the rush.
But it turns out it's Saturday, which I've just completely forgotten.
So it was fully packed.
It was intense.
Again, we get, there's a lot of love, a lot of good people there.
But yeah, I had one of those like had chicken and mac and cheese for lunch, was exhausted.
Like took one step in bed and then the storm started.
And I was like, you know what?
I'm going to set a 45 minute alarm and I'll see you fuckers in hell.
Let's do.
Is it the sixth annual trade?
I think it's six.
Wow.
Our first one was in Denver.
So wasn't that 2021?
Jeez.
2021.
Wow.
Okay.
Crazy.
First, before we lay out the rules, once again, we will go over last year's results.
Tide for third place was the man who will see us in hell.
Jake Story Ali with 10 points.
Thank you.
Tied with him in the basement was none other than the man who just shook his hand awkwardly.
Jolly Olive.
Crazy.
The two ball knowers did the worst.
I looked back at the board and I was like, I don't know what I was thinking.
Sometimes it gets.
exciting during the draft. And then you forget there's a graphic and you're like, oh,
the runner up last year was yours truly with 30 points, which means that the Philadelphia Philly's
legend, none other than Trevor Plouf, walked away with the title with a whopping 45 points.
To me, that proves if nothing else, these should be baseball today and not talking baseball.
Wow.
Boy. Kind of agree.
It's coming back to me now.
I had Harrison Bader went to the Phillies.
That was a big one for me.
You had Master Bader going there, yep.
Yeah, and then another one, I had like the team right as well.
So that's good.
No, he had two.
Eugenio Suarez, no, you just had A. Eugenio Suarez, who was also an all star last year.
That's why you got bonus points.
I need to remember that.
And thank you for reminding me.
That's nice of you.
And you had Ryan McMahon.
To the Yankees.
Those were your big, big ones.
Treve, you did it in the back half, too.
It was picks five and six.
Yeah.
Pretty good.
You win the draft, Charlie.
So here we go.
Your rules will be as follows.
If the contestant picks a correct match between player moved and destination, you get a whopping 10 points.
If we just say a player is going to get traded and we don't nail the team, but he does get moved, you still get five points.
If the player picked was an All-Star in 2026, either originally selected or selected as a replay.
you get a bonus five points.
And if the contestant picks a player that was traded that has won one of the major awards at
some point in his history, a la Sai Yung MVP, rookie of the year, you also get an additional
five points.
Now, if you've won both rookie of the year and MVP, that's 10 points.
But if you've won multiple MVP or multiple Sy Youngs, that is not 10 points or 15 points.
20 points. You understand?
He's done it six times.
He definitely doesn't. He knows.
He knows. He knows.
So we have to figure out the order of the draft.
I think I only have one more.
Did we, I think we had a gentleman's like maybe two or three relievers.
I think that's fair.
Okay.
Just because it can get a little.
I can get a little dicey.
So what do we say?
No more than two relievers per team?
I like that.
Done.
Bluff?
Yeah, sure.
You don't care.
Yeah, he'll take it.
Okay.
He's still thinking.
I'm talking about the thunder from before.
I really truly believe that, you know, most drafts, if you stink, you're rewarded with
the first pick, except in baseball where we have a lottery and the NBA where we have a lottery.
So I guess it's not exactly accurate.
But we got to decide between Jake and Jolly who's going first.
I mean, I hate to say this.
The way we did it last year was the winner set the order.
I get to just pick who goes?
I think you should.
I get the first pick of where I want.
No, you get to you get to set.
Set the order.
I do think just for our basic brains, it needs to be in a direction.
Sure.
In a direction.
Why?
What did you?
What did you just?
I'm like 113 people.
And Treb, I reminded everybody of that.
So if you want to put me in like higher favor, that'd be chill.
Or if you wanted to get a wedding.
I honestly, I'll tell you this.
I don't want the first pick.
I don't really think there is like a first pick.
I think I do want.
want the wraparound.
So I'll put Chris Rose number one pick.
Wow.
Because, you know, you're that.
You go first.
Dad goes first.
Then after that, I will go Jake the Snake.
Then I'll go myself and then I'll give Jolly the Rapperard.
I don't think my guys fall in the four.
Okay.
I love what just happened and I'm guaranteeing victory.
I got the four.
I had two good picks in this draft.
I like a wrap around.
So I'm excited.
I think I'm going to lose my two favorite picks.
fix quick.
Chris Rose first.
You've got a flare for the dramatic in this, Chris.
I know I do.
And I have a real hard time because usually out the gate I try to get some bonus points involved as well.
He plays the game.
And I don't love my bonus points.
I should want first.
I don't know what I was thinking right there.
But I'm going to come out with a doozy.
Yep.
A doozy here.
And I said this well over a month ago, like six or seven weeks ago.
I already know where you're going to happen.
happen on baseball today. Every May 29th, we have a bold prediction show where we say something
that's going to happen. And I said that the New York Yankees were going to get an all-star
reliever because as good as David Bednar has been, somebody needs to go help out the back end
of the Bronx. I'm banking on Aaron Judge coming back. I'm banking on their offense doing 180.
Don't do this. And I think for the first time, A.J. Preller is a seller.
I hate it.
Miller.
Wow.
Welcome to the boogie down.
Just got zero points.
Your first pick overall?
What?
What's the matter with that?
That's what I'm saying.
I like the thought process.
That's an eighth pick.
That's like you're throwing it out there.
We'll see if it out.
Everything's an eighth pick this year.
One one is crazy.
There's a couple guys who are definitely getting traded.
He's not definitely getting paid.
I like it though.
We talked about this a ton already, but wild first.
They're going to win seven to ten games and buy.
They're not going to sell me somewhere.
I don't know.
They've been tough to watch for a while.
I have a hard time seeing it.
There is nothing worse than having a great closer on a team that you know cannot win.
It's like saying, boy, we've got the best punter in the league.
Boy, we really nailed that one.
It's also, they traded Leo DeVries, the top prospects.
And for Mason Miller, they can get that replacement in Anthony Volpe.
And they also have more at home.
You did this.
You did this.
That was funny.
That was funny.
All right, here we go.
Am I up?
Yeah.
That was good.
God.
People are going to hate that.
That's why you should have the first.
Go ahead.
You know what?
I'm tough.
I can take it.
You are.
Go ahead.
Give it to the old man.
Crazy woman.
Wow.
We challenge six creators to make the best invite to our all-star watch party on Adobe Express.
Let's take a look at a couple of the submissions.
I'm going to show Coach Treve right now.
The first one we have, Jolly Olive.
He decided to play Panic and Jopinic.
and Jimmy Norp's first All-Star game.
So he put them on his invite.
Panic with the Stoge Jimmy Norp.
You know, kind of clean.
It's a lot of self-promotion as well.
Obviously.
I don't love it.
Let's see the other one.
Then we have.
I believe this is Joe's McFly
who went with the baseball beer.
And then he put his guy's shelfy in there
because they're kind of a tandem.
Those two guys make me laugh
and like a baseball drinking a beer.
That also makes me laugh.
This is the clear-code winner.

Okay, I thought there was two guys, because how many teams do we actually know are selling?
It's shocking.
There is one team, and I chase the points because I play for keeps.
I believe I won the five years before this.
It's not true, but we don't have the stats in front of us, so I'm not sure.
I think there's a guy that is guaranteed to be traded.
I think it's Robbie Ray.
Okay.
Robbie Ray from the San Francisco Giants.
He also gets bonus points from being a Cy Young Award winner.
That's a great one.
I'm going to shoot from the hip.
I'm going to say there's a desperate AL team that he used to play on
that's been slightly, that's been a starting pitcher short all year on.
Give him to Toronto.
Yeah.
I think that front office.
Going back to Toronto.
Robbie Ray, when he first went there, I still don't think that same pitching coach is there,
but it's a guy he linked up with.
It's a team he's familiar with.
It's a true rental.
I didn't find a lot of other landing spots for him.
Everyone's chasing pitching.
I think Toronto doesn't think they're dead.
Their front office went to the World Series last year.
I think they're going to spike the glycogen levels a little bit with a little bit of Robbie Rye.
How long has Pete Walker been there?
Yeah, I think it's the same coach.
Is it still Pete Walker?
I forget if it was the, I thought the bullpen coach was the guy.
He came in with Montoya, so 2020.
So he's been there for a while.
Yeah.
Throw on that same jersey kid.
Okay.
I like that.
Interesting.
I had him on my board
and I didn't know where to put them
So I got to just
Right
It was kind of weird
Because some of the
Not to be rude to Robbie Ray
Some of the high level teams
You could see being like
Well let a young guy do it
Yeah
We're good
And his last month has been really good
Robbie Ray is your fifth starter
Which I think Toronto could do that
Why not?
Good pick Jake
Thank you
Okay
I have one actually
I was gonna search the board
And figure it out
But this
I thought this guy was gonna be taken
Within the first two picks
That's why I was upset
that I put myself there, but he's here.
Another guy that's getting extra points.
I'm stoked on that.
It was an All-Star last year.
I'm going with Louisa Rye.
So same team.
The Giants are selling, I guess.
That was my other guy.
They're trying to sell as many people as possible.
That's the vibe I'm getting here.
And there are some fun places to put them.
I don't think your Yankees are in it.
I don't think that's a match for them.
I don't think so, although that's been noted quite a bit.
I am going to go to another AL East team.
This is my exact pick.
It's a pretty good one because it makes a lot of sense.
It makes perfect sense.
The Tampa Bay Rays are looking for a second base, man.
They're looking for someone to put in with those top three hitters that they have.
You can slot him at the leadoff spot.
He might work behind Camerra.
I don't know.
There is protection there either way you want to go.
So I'll put Luisarize in this newly beautiful glove, gold glover at second base.
Yeah.
Although now he's moving.
He'd move leagues.
I don't know how that works.
Anyways, he goes to the race.
I was going to do that next.
Nice.
If you didn't do it.
It's very good.
Debated it.
I thought my pick was really good.
Is Dolan feeding new picks again?
I have my own sheet.
That felt very Dalton.
Okay.
A raise pick with his first one.
Is that AI?
It's formatted.
Yes.
It's formatted for me.
Okay.
Trev, Grave noted.
Asterisk.
Damn.
All right.
Jack.
Wow.
Two picks is tough.
That's why I didn't want that.
I know.
I would have had a nice one too there.
I have one that I definitely like.
I'm going to get some all-star points.
And even though I think I've never won this show,
I always do like a homecoming because I just think that's fun.
That happens more often than I think baseball fans realize.
Robbie Ray.
How about from the Kansas City Royals going back to where it all began?
Very nice.
Way back in, I think, 2013 where he was like 20 years old.
Michael Walker.
I think he fits the car.
He was a part of those really, really good teams.
He has two years of control.
The Cardinals have one of the sneaky deeper farm systems
to go get pitching, and the Royals are selling.
So I think that kind of just makes it,
that's a crazy picture, Roe.
I was gonna say the jolly pick is crazy, good job, Rob.
And then Michael Waka, has he always been...
Sneaky Hanson?
What the hell is that?
Staring down the barrel at Waka.
A little bit.
Holy smokes.
So that was gonna be one of my two
guys going to do a riser with the other one.
Interesting.
Okay.
We'll say.
You have St. Louis buying, huh?
I have St. Louis buying, yeah.
I don't know.
Their lineup is deep.
They do it with control, years of control.
Yes, yes.
They make smart decisions.
And he's not making that much, comparatively speaking.
Innings to get through this year.
Solid.
Okay.
All right.
So you're doubling up.
Yeah, we're doubling up.
I think I'm going to punch reliever first.
Because we can only take two, and I just feel like the Mets have a really deep bullpen.
So some guys are going to get traded there.
Jolly, well, you think,
the beauty of Chris Rose, on his screen,
we have the World Cup game,
England versus Norway,
second screen Cleveland Guardians game live.
During this episode,
what?
I can't believe he outed him,
he's got three to guns out.
He's good.
When you're one and eight,
I kind of get it.
Awesome.
He clocked out.
I can't make any draft any trades.
Yeah.
I'm going to be Kevin Costner on the phone.
Wheeling and Dealing?
first round picks?
I'm going to pivot,
actually.
I'm going to pivot.
Shelfy kind of helped me
with this one, so I'm going to give him to her one.
Oh, no.
I know.
I might not be the same guy.
The Phillies are having a lot of trouble
with their outfield.
Adelaidea's Garcia went down for the years.
That's my pick.
There's two guys.
There's two guys.
One.
I think the one that gets moved is from the team
that's currently eight games under.
He's a rental.
He's apparently not swinging the bat that much
this year, but it's working for him.
Taylor Ward goes to the Phillies as a rental outfielder.
Heaths up the middle of their lineup.
They don't have that many holes besides like outfield and a backup catcher,
but that's something they could do pretty easily and not burn out.
You know,
what's left of the farm system there.
So I got you back a little bit.
I got you back.
I was ready to go there.
I was just like,
I was going to put the England-Norway game on.
Cruise control, but now I got to figure it out.
I have a backup.
It's okay.
Well, Harry Kane just missed a free kick.
You know, when is the show?
When is the show?
come out in like five days right do you say you've got a hairy cane why do you think my
can you expand on it oh my gosh all right oh shit amazon i don't think i can't
yes you have to get stuff can you guys figure it's you're breaking shit all over the place
this is guys it's my pick yeah respectful of my time that's crazy we should implement a clock
we should yeah we're going quick good
You're up.
I'm ready.
You have 10 seconds.
I am in a go.
I don't think this guy gets extra points, which kind of stinks.
But I feel like there's not a lot of guys who are going to get extra points.
Yeah, they kind of came and went.
On the overall, this Chapman front, like, I'm not so sure the Red Sox are going to be selling them now.
So there's a lot of these guys.
Looks great on paper.
Not so sure it's going to happen.
I will go with the guy that's going to get traded.
He is from your team.
He's briefly been there.
He's not even really yours, dude.
Easy with that.
I'll go Freddie Peralta.
Oh, I think he was the other guy. That's fine.
Yeah.
You don't want Clay Holmes?
No.
Okay.
Freddie Peralta is going to get traded.
So I'm just taking the sure points here.
I don't really have a great team for him, so I'll go with one that, like, needs it maybe more than anybody else.
And maybe a little payback on his brewers later in the season because I'm sending him to the Cubs.
Ooh.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
I couldn't find a good team for him, and I'm kind of worried as a Mets fan.
I found a good team for him.
Was it not the Cubs?
It was not the Cubs?
I mean, look, they're dealing with a ton of injuries.
They're bought in on this year.
They can go get him with minimal prospect requirements
since he is a true rental.
I just think that they're looking for warm bodies.
Didn't they go get David Peterson from you guys already?
Like, this is another.
Oh, good one.
Nice, Trev.
They're already talking.
My Freddie team I didn't have the Cajones for, the Marlins.
Oh, that would be so good.
Add a little something there.
Fun.
I'll tell you there a bit.
I will, it was the name just said, so I got nervous.
We might as well mess it up for a little bit.
I will do Clay Holmes.
And there's some fun teams.
We even daydreamed on talking Yanks the other day.
How funny would that be?
Come back home, you know, do it all again.
I don't know if we do that to them, you know.
I think there's a team that values that Clay Holmes sinker like every team does.
I think there's a team that could be looking at Clay Holmes as a high leverage release.
or a starting pitcher, depending how it comes back.
It's a team of luxury.
Clay Holmes, welcome to the Dodgers.
Wow.
I did not have them going there.
Yeah.
I'm sorry to say.
I think for them, when they look at all their pitchers,
it's just, hey, we've got another talented guy.
I don't care if Clay gives us five innings in the postseason
or one innings in the postseason.
We've got Clay Holmes.
I had them going to the Cubs because a elite infield defense,
but also because they need help in both the rotation and the bowl.
And so wherever you, if guys do get healthy at some point, you need to move him around.
He's getting extended.
He's not getting traded him.
Okay.
So this pick is null and void.
It's fine.
That's good.
Happy for you.
Thanks, ma'am.
I think.
And the Mets are going to win the Illinois.
No.
No, no.
What are you talking about?
All right.
So, I need to get one on the board because I swung big out of the gate.
And I know that this guy is definitely getting traded.
He used to be a starter and was a solid starter,
and then he fell off the face of the map,
and then this year he went to the bullpen,
and he's actually been pretty good,
and he's among the league leader in wins.
I know wins isn't a big staff anymore for pitchers,
but it was interesting.
Antonio Scentella is going to be on the move.
He's in the last year of a deal
that's going to pay him $14 million this year.
There is a team option next year for $14,000.
I can't imagine anybody's going to pick that up.
He's nine wins, geez.
he's off to Seattle
who if you haven't really paid attention
like some of their bullpen numbers are very good
they've got a bunch of guys
including Brash who's hurt
so they need somebody to help them
get through the month of August
the end of July and the month of August
so I think Antonio Sonsetella
ends up in a different league
and gets to pitch for a team
that actually might win something
perhaps so that's the first of two
he looked nasty going better
to the World Baseball Classic.
It's just like, damn, okay, Senzatella.
Okay, those guys were juiced up.
Rosie, I will say, you're out of relievers now.
I know I am.
Wow.
But that's okay, because I've got plenty of guys that are interesting.
Okay.
Including another guy who's on Colorado.
Oh, double rocks.
We are taping this on a Saturday.
What was the big thing in baseball today?
The draft.
Who went first?
decade ago.
Everyone remembers.
Mickey Moniac.
To the Phillies.
To the Phillies.
To the Phillies.
Yeah, a good friend of mine.
Eventually found his way here in Colorado.
He's a bad splits guy.
He's bad.
We can't play him against lefties.
But you know what?
Against righties?
You're going to ring it up.
You know who needs more left-handed hitters?
The Cleveland Guardians.
The Houston Astros.
I thought he was going to say Cleveland Guardians.
They need somebody out there.
Yordon, pretty solid.
I think we can play him most days from the left side.
Mickey Moniac is off to Houston.
I like it.
Wow.
I've wanted them to bring in that other lefty for three years now.
There you go.
I like the pick.
Okay.
I do.
Tref thought about getting critical.
He pulled back.
An awesome pair of names to follow Mason Miller.
Antonio sends a toe of Mickey.
Now we're playing for keeps, people.
Now we're playing for keeps.
I think I've got zero points through three days.
It's not always about that, you know?
How many rounds is this draft?
Rockies and Angels scare me, dude.
Eight rounds, I believe.
Oh, my goodness.
There's the board.
I'm going to play a little defense early, which feels weird in round three.
When Jolly made his pick, everyone gasped.
because I think there's two corner outfielders, the Phillies are eyeing.
I think they go for the other guy.
I think he's got a little more Phillies to him.
I think he's got a little more home run pop to him.
I think the Angels had a lost asset.
They got a found asset.
I think this guy fits Philly, robin homers and hitting homers,
Joe Adele to the Philadelphia Phillies.
I love the idea.
I don't think I can ever take another angel.
with this.
I understand.
They never do the thing they're supposed to do.
They can sting you.
They end up buying somehow.
Yeah.
That's what they did last year.
They bought.
They traded for Andrew Chase in last year.
That's real.
That's not a Jake joke.
That's not a Jake joke.
That's real.
I like it.
I will say,
I think Taylor Ward fits the Phillies roster
more than Joe Adele right now.
Just like he's more fret boy.
I had a different second outfielder than that.
Oh.
Interesting.
Yeah.
stay tuned very interesting by the way joe adele's beard on that is out of control
are these baseball reference picks rob where's where are we getting these MLB dot com okay all right
all right okay coach part of me wants to go
parmally yeah Chris part of me wants to go for your yanks and upgrade their catcher position
do it don't do give me your guy there's a couple guys
Go!
Yes.
Norway.
Fuck yeah.
One nil in the 35th minute.
That scared the shit out of me.
What are we doing right now?
Trest time is out.
This is the most unprofessional I've ever seen.
That was like when your dad yells at you when you really fucked up something.
Sorry.
Norway.
Not Halan either.
No.
I can't say his name.
I've never.
Okay.
Can you interrupts?
I felt more disrespected than I do right now.
I can't wait to hear your pick.
I'm excited.
Let's go.
Can you guys at home you're watching this?
Can you believe what he just did?
What?
That's natural emotion.
Why are you watching a World Cup game while we're doing an episode?
It's unprofessional.
It's unprofessional.
I'm going to tell you a little secret.
Hey, you know what, Jolly?
Why don't we put on like some anime or something while we're doing this?
That's not.
It's not what we do.
same thing.
It's the same thing.
Jake,
knock over the helmet now.
I just saved a bunch of people
from actually listening
to your pick.
Here we go.
If we're doing clock,
if we're doing clock,
three, two, one.
The winner of last year?
Yeah, Trev, it's getting close
to your procrastinating.
A little bit shot clock, yeah.
Okay.
I am going to give the Yankees
their catcher.
Yes.
But I don't think it's not
the guy that you want.
Unfortunately, I
I think the twins are going to keep our catching together.
Now, this draft happened today,
and they did draft a catcher third overall, Von Lacky,
who's a stud, and you could say Victor Keratini
and Alex Jackson have been hitting great
when Jeffers has been out.
So it really does make me pause.
It really makes me pause.
I'm going to send someone else over there.
He's out in Sacramento right now.
Okay.
Switch hitter.
Mm-hmm.
Now he's a better right-handed hitter than left-handed hitter.
So that's not great.
But, you know, pinstripes, man, they're heavy.
They make you better.
I don't know, maybe.
I'm going to send you guys Jonah Heim.
That's exactly who I had going there.
Yeah.
I had him going to Philly.
Overall, numbers are pretty good.
Again, from the right side, he's raking this year.
I think it's like a 900.
Over 900.
Yep.
And then maybe, yeah, maybe there's a platoon.
I don't know.
We're obviously open to some help.
I guess the thing that gives me hesitation is they could have gotten Jonah Heim at different points.
They didn't know Austin Williams was going to perform as poorly.
Right, but you could have also...
Whoa, that's a crazy stuff.
Yeah, he's crushing the ball.
For the price tag, you could have got Jonah Heim at when your backup catchers are J.C. Ascara and Ali Sanchez.
Yeah, but you can't look at that.
It's where they're at now.
Yeah.
If you're running a front office, I think it would have been fine to have Jonah Heim in that mix,
and I don't think you were taken away from Austin Wells.
Jake, you're forgetting World Series champion.
Hey, I would, if Jonahheim trade happens, we'd be very excited.
I wanted to give you Jeffers, but I can't do it.
It's fine.
Not on this program.
Not on my program.
I still, I kind of like Austin Wells.
I've just wanted someone of Jonahheim's ilk to push him instead of J.C. Ascara and Ali Sanchez.
Maybe that's what we're going to get.
So, hey, I'm great.
Fantastic.
The Braves traded away William Contreras.
and Shay Langaleers,
and they still didn't have room for Jonah home.
They're like, we're just going to cut you.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
It's pretty impressive.
That's crazy.
They know catching.
Drake Baldwin.
Catching factory.
Today's episode is sponsored by Amazon.
This back-to-school season,
spend less on your kids with Amazon.
You want to give your kids a great start to the year,
but back-to-school has a way of absolutely destroying your budget.
The supply list keeps growing.
The clothes stop fitting.
And somehow there's always one more thing.
Amazon helps you handle all that without losing your mind or your wallet.
Trev, you're a daddy.
How's back to school shopping going for you and the kids?
Here's a little secret about having kids.
They always need something.
Always.
Like literally all the time and the easiest place to go get things is Amazon.
Whether it is clothes, pencils, a glue, all sorts of stuff.
The glue sticks are big early on in the year.
Backpacks.
I don't know, man.
Whatever you need, Amazon's got it.
It's Amazon for back to school.
Everything you need.
Backpacks, lunch boxes, notebooks, headphones, headphones, clothes.
Great prices, huge selection, and it shows up at your door before you know it.
So remember, with Amazon's low back to school prices, just spend less on your kids,
because every dollar you don't spend on them is a dollar you haven't spent on them.
So I got to make two picks now?
Yes, sir.
Make two picks.
Oh, baby.
Okay.
Sandy Leon.
Still doing it.
I'm going to take that other out first.
I grew up on Bruce Eggs Benedict.
You guys don't remember him.
That was nothing.
It was a good one.
What did you just say?
That was nothing.
Well, you just butcher soccer.
You had a warehouse games line that got me the other day,
because it was for you.
It was for you.
Oh, I know.
It wasn't for the we got ice kids who were watching.
Yeah, sorry.
Sorry about that.
It's okay.
I liked it.
The other outfielder I was thinking of was JJ Bladay,
who's having a really nice year for the Reds.
Some years of control,
but kind of feels like a guy that could get moved.
We need a ride in Philly.
That's why I'm not sending in there.
Oh.
When we look at teams that look for control in these trades,
to make the smart organizational move,
a team that maybe has to think about a future
of another outfielder that they're not so sure of
that might make a lot of money in ARB next year.
A team like the Cleveland Guardians feels like they could make a sassy,
kind of an interesting move
and get J.J. Bladay on their roster
and then maybe use that as a pivot
to do some moving around the offseason.
Yeah, here's the thing.
There we go.
Ploof.
He hates it.
What's my team's type?
Short lefties.
That's it.
Is he too tall?
He's probably too tall to qualify, but he's still lefty.
Let's do a height guess.
I'm going to guess he's 6-1.
Let's do a height guess.
6-flat. 6-flat. 6-flat. 6-flat.
Oh, how tall is J-J?
Too late.
6-2 is the answer.
So he's tall left-e.
He's kind of right around.
But still, I just can't, I can't get behind that.
I'm sorry.
Why not?
You're so pet.
Because we play three left-handed hitting outfielders as is.
Our first baseman's left-handed hitting.
Our second baseman's left-handed hitting.
I picked him here because you guys have some of the lower left-handed hitting numbers.
Daniel Schneeban.
Maybe just change it up.
Yeah, but now the problem is, is that particularly without Jose when he's hitting right-handed, it's so easy.
So easy for teams to just put in a lefty and let him face, Bazana, the Louder, Manzardo, Schneman, Kwan, you know, whatever order the team is that day.
Should I switch the pick?
I'll switch it.
I'll switch it.
I'll switch it.
Good pick, Charlie.
God, I'm already dead.
All right, I'll do a reliever.
I'll do a reliever.
That has, that Rann has more to do with me than you.
Chris, I know.
Thank you.
All right.
I feel like we haven't done a lot of relievers for it to be a rule.
Yeah.
I don't want this to happen, but I think Luke Weaver's getting traded.
Yeah.
He's so good.
He's in my queue right now.
I'm sorry, bro.
I have him going.
I have two teams.
I have two teams.
Oh, okay.
Did you have like a one team picked out?
I just had, I mean, this was going to be I picked two.
He had a list of three.
He pointed to one of the teams.
That's all I have.
I'm going to go with the one of my teams that has a lesser farm system, but I think it has a higher chance to meet the playoffs.
Since we all had him on the move, basically.
How about give us a countdown?
We'll say the team name that we had to go into it.
Okay.
Okay.
Three, two, one.
Pittsburgh.
I think we all said
I had him in Pittsburgh flipped
I went White Sox instead
What did you say?
I said Yankees but kind of just for shit
I said Phillies
I could see Phillies too
But I think White Sox farm system
Is a really good spot
They just traded away two prospects
To get like a pick or something last night
They need bullpen really bad
Like their bullpins cost them
A bunch of games already this year
They don't really have a true closer
Luke Weaver deserves to be closing games
Not setting up games
I think he just makes a lot of sense
On the White Sox
And I feel like that
makes their bullpen feel a lot better
because they have like some nicer pieces
but guys feel like they're out of certain roles.
Like Grant Taylor's nasty.
Sir Anthony Dominguez has your seventh inning guys
kind of a lot nicer than like your closer
and they'll have them for next year as well.
So as they continue to build,
I feel like that just makes sense.
Totally can see that.
Got to trade it.
That's a really good move.
They have to.
It's going to break my heart,
but you absolutely have to trade Luke Weaver.
He's probably the best reliever available
if Mason Miller isn't.
What?
Well,
sorry, sorry, sorry.
Go!
No, don't do that, that's shit.
There's no goal.
Wait, who scored the goal at least?
He doesn't even know.
Some Norwegian.
Some Norwegian.
Not a Viking helmet.
Not the guy.
Not the guy.
Not Holland, who's just taking it.
God, buddy, that guy.
Jell, are you doubling up?
I went.
He already did.
Wow.
My first clue wasn't sexy.
Plufe has 17 seconds to make his pick.
I want the white socks to add.
I do think they have.
have a legitimate shot to not only win the Central but to like actually be good in the playoffs.
I'm a that was so we when we did our make a big prediction episode me and Chris he went
Mason Miller I said white socks this is May 29 so they're going to win the division there and they're
you mean they're two games up right now or something like that in the guards but okay I was I wanted
to send him to the Phillies I'm going to send the Phillies somebody else I do think like this is a team
again like they are going to add they've gotten right back into the thick of it and at least playoff
face, all that good stuff.
And they could use some more help at the back end of their bullpen.
I think I'm going to send a guy who, like, I feel like I never give enough credit to you,
but puts up pretty good numbers, can miss barrels, different kind of look as well from the
back end of their bullpen.
I'm going to go Andrew Kitchridge over to the Phillies.
All that guy does is get traded.
Yeah, I know.
All the time.
And again, I never give him enough credit.
I think because I played with him in Tampa and he, like, was hurt or something.
and I just have had that image in my head for so long,
but like the career numbers are pretty damn good.
He would be a great inmate, not a lead inmate in a movie.
Interesting.
But like one of the guys that's an ancillary inmate character.
That picture is tough.
Right?
Shawshank's side character.
Just slider sinker to death.
Let's go.
He like was closing playoff games for the Cubs last year.
Right.
I like that pick.
That's good.
It's creative.
Okay.
Great pick.
Orioles are selling.
Orioes are selling.
They're done, I guess.
They are.
I think they are.
And I actually have a sneaky Orioles pick, so I might as well build off of it.
Oh, boy.
Again, it's a funky deadline.
It is a funky deadline.
It's a funky deadline.
And I think the Orioles are going to realize they're a part of it.
And they've got a very interesting starting pitcher and Trevor Rogers, who, you know, we've seen the highest of highs from him in a way.
He's a little up and down.
Jolly mentioned this before and I'm tapping into it a homecoming.
Whoa.
The Marlins need one more starting pitcher.
You've already done this trade.
You just got to undo it.
Wow.
Send them back to the fish with arms.
Now the fish sticks.
They need one more pitcher and I don't know.
Obviously the Marlins have to operate a little bit differently.
I believe he's got a year and a half.
They got a deep storm.
And dude, they're great.
I'm in.
Yeah.
Like, not in a, ooh, they had a heater.
Like, I'm, the Marlins are in, and they need innings to get through the year.
So why not?
Who's running the show there?
Peter Ben Dix.
Peter Ben Dix.
Got the fish sticks rocking and rolling.
Trevor comes home.
Metz interviewed him.
He said, no thanks.
Awesome.
Wow, that's interesting about Peter Bendix.
Are you a fan?
I like what it's built.
Go!
One, one.
England answers.
Is that Belling him?
It was more prepared for a person.
It is.
He's becoming a star before our eyes.
Wow.
He just gave it the old Tiger Woods fist bump.
Nice.
Okay.
I love, can I tell you why I'm all in?
He's fired up.
Look, he's fired up.
The British fans have been having the best time at baseball games, too.
Some of them the fans from Norway.
All these fans are in loving this.
That's why you're interrupting our show.
Trevor Rogers going to the Marlin.
He was about to give you a lot of praise.
All right, sorry.
Okay.
You have back-to-back picks.
Yes.
So when the Guardians were in first place by, I don't know whether it was four or five games or whatever,
and you were talking about the White Sox and your twins were even just hanging around.
Who's the one team I told you I was most worried about?
Tigers.
The Detroit Tigers.
And lo and behold, we're taping this on a Saturday.
And who's the hottest team in baseball outside of the Boston.
Red Sox.
Marlins.
The Detroit Tigers.
That's right.
They need help.
Offensively.
Sure.
I don't know when Glaber Torres is going to come back.
Torkelson, his power numbers are fine.
I need a little bit more dependability.
What I'm saying is from the right side of the dish, it's been Dylan Dingler and not a ton
else for them, right?
Riley, Green's been great from the left side.
McGonagall has been out of this world.
Awesome, right? Colt Keith has turned it up a little bit. So give me a right-handed stick.
You got cheese steaks on the mind? I don't. Okay. I've got a former All-Star, I believe he was,
in Elliot Ramos from the San Francisco Giants. Call in Motown Home. Okay. This is not a rental.
This is a guy, you know, he's one of the guys, we talk about the Giants and all the guys they have available.
he's actually somebody that would bring you back something decent
and he doesn't make any damn money.
Right?
Yeah.
Okay.
He got over an 800 OPS this year.
What do you got?
He wasn't even on my board.
I kind of like the pick.
Okay.
So I went with that.
We are just the Giants roster is going to be decimated.
Yes, it is.
Dude, there's not a lot of bats available.
You're looking for pure sellers.
But this bat is on the move for the second straight year.
I don't hate it.
I don't know if I love it, though.
So this guy has actually quietly had a pretty solid season
for one of the most least impressive offenses out there.
I already got rid of their All-Star Closer.
So what does it matter if you give up Thai France?
He's a guy you just don't think about,
but he can provide a little bit of pop from the right side.
We think about him all the time.
We think about Thai France.
I'm talking baseball.
Is that because of his muscles?
It doesn't hurt the Frenchman.
Okay.
Thai France.
Little World Cup joke in there.
I got it.
Actually, when we're on the red carpet on Tuesday, I'll be watching that as well while I'm interviewing Bryce Harper.
Flex.
Thai France is going to the Mighty Miami Marlins.
Marlins are pung and bitch.
Yeah, they actually need a little bit more right-handed pop down there.
This is a guy that's easy to pry away.
It's not going to cost you much.
and actually, I'm not going to call him a difference maker,
but he's going to provide an uptick.
So there we go.
Back-to-back West Coast right-handed bats on the move
to the Central and the East, respectively.
Gotcha.
Great pick.
Fired up.
Well done.
And also I'm out of relievers.
Yeah, haven't you been out of relievers?
That's why we got time.
Hey, hey.
Okay.
One one at half.
Do you know what I...
I can't say it.
No.
I wanted to give you...
I might do this pick at the end
just because I think it's a really good one
that actually might happen.
Just go on.
That's a terrible interruption by me, sorry.
Sick hint, dog.
I was going to say it
that I decided I wanted to keep the pick.
Okay.
I don't think the Yankees are trading for Jonah Heim.
Okay, because this is exactly where I was about to go.
I don't think they're going to get Jeffers.
which is the problem.
If you say this name,
that's gonna be fucking,
I'll be happy.
There's no.
They have to trade Jeffers though, right?
If you're the twins,
you have to trade Ryan Jeffers.
You can win the Central.
They don't.
He has a ton of value.
They don't because
they would be able to offer him
a qualifying offer pick
before the lockout.
It's true.
And the CBA's expired.
So I believe it's grandfathered in.
I mean, I'm still unclear about that.
Because that, to me,
is the biggest thing.
Like, if they can't do that, then obviously you have to trade him.
But I think they can do that.
Yeah.
And they want to keep the, they want to, they want to win, man.
These teams have a little bit of trade history.
I do think the Yankees are going to add a catcher.
Don't do it.
I think he looks like a tall, handsome 1950s Yankee.
Good.
Tyler Stevenson goes from the Reds to the Yankees.
He does look like a, that's great.
Right? Right.
He looks like he drinks milk every morning and he chops wood.
Just right out of the cow.
That is not what the 1950s Yankees were doing.
It's cocaine and pot don't.
I gotta reread the book on that.
That was the 60s.
Why do all these pictures look like guys have bright green eyes?
Look how happy you are in your photo.
They're just glowing.
Well, that's because I'm wearing a hat.
So I'm sorry to everyone watching this video that's seeing whatever's going on with my nap hair.
No, your head.
Yeah, why don't you put a hat on that?
It's tough, man.
It's just, it's just wispy.
Oh, no.
Oh.
God. Thank you. Am I done? Yep. Great.
Trev? Back to World Cup. It wasn't exactly where I thought you were going to go.
Okay. I have another one. I'm going to put another catcher on the Yanke.
There's another catcher? Who's the other catcher? Yeah, well, it's a big one. Like, it's an actual trade.
Oh, oh. Oh, it's a good one, yeah. Okay. The Nationals have been a great story.
and we know like what they've done.
They've actually, as we're filming this today,
James Wood took Camp Schlittler way up top,
first pitch in the game, I think it was.
Or at least the first a bat.
Offense has been great.
The rest, not so much.
I don't expect them to actually end up in a playoff spot
in the National League.
And I think they know that.
One guy they have right now,
if I'm them, I'm extending this guy.
I just don't know if they're going to operate this way.
Older just came back from a,
Foster Griffin.
Oh.
Been really, really good for them.
Yeah.
Guy throws a bunch of different pitches.
You know who really likes left-handed pitching?
Oh, my God.
Keep going.
Same divisions.
It's always during his turn.
The only thing that...
Yeah, not kidding.
The only thing I don't like is it is same division in my head.
So he could go to the Cubs.
I kind of like that now that I'm talking out loud about this.
Yeah, a little bit.
A little bit of Cubs energy for Foster Griffin.
Hold on one second.
To shut that out.
Immediately.
I'll tell you, the other team I was thinking was the Briss.
They've been doing it with Martine Perez all year long.
But the inner division that makes me start to think now, is he more of a cub than anything?
And do they want that?
I'm going to stick my initial thought.
I'll go Braves here.
But I do think he does get moved.
Again, if I'm the national, I try to extend this guy on the cheap and see what happens.
but he is only guaranteed this year,
so it will be a rental,
and I'll put him on the Braves,
who are, again,
looking to kind of find footing right now.
They've been struggling for a while.
Yeah, it's been a while.
That's interesting.
I honestly think they might trade him.
I mean, some of the guys that went over and seized
and then had a really nice first year kind of regressed after,
and a lot of those guys didn't get moved,
and they kind of need to not restock their farm system,
but they could stand in.
That's our tricky, man.
They are tricky.
Because you can put, like, two relievers
on them and they're like, well, without this guy,
it's a completely different season.
Like, he's actually stabilized their rotation very well.
Yeah. So I wonder.
That's interesting.
Oh, man.
James Wood.
That's not even a bad pitch.
It was first pitch.
That was a couple hours ago as we record that.
That was high and tight 98.
That wasn't a bad pitch at all.
The only bad part of James Wood's first half was when he did dug out discussions
with Chris Rose and his freaking phone.
How can I make this about me?
How can I make this about me?
Just make sure you say James Wood right now.
No, the only part of James Wood.
That was funny.
It's...
Yeah, okay.
You're possessive.
Possessive.
Okay.
Yes.
His mom made that part of the other day, by the way.
This is the most out of control I've ever seen.
Chris isn't saying.
When the world comes down, he doesn't miss.
The whole point was his phone sucked, and it looked like he was doing the interview from a sauna.
I do remember that interview.
I sat next to someone famous on the plane right here today, and Chris Gross kept looking over his seat at mine, like, pointing.
I wasn't?
Yes, you were.
You made me feel really uncomfortable, dude.
Yes, I wanted you to answer my text.
This is crazy.
That's what that meant.
I was doing this.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
I don't think so.
I don't know who it was.
I don't have a lot of managerial experience.
Figure it out.
Figure it out.
Am I right, though?
He's a sauna.
We're now currently showing James Wood and what looks like the grave or the afterlife?
It's like a video.
What's going on there?
He's looking.
$250 million.
We can't get a new phone plan?
I think at some point I accidentally followed the Nationals on social media,
so I've been getting way too much inside the Nats.
But his parents went to the game the other day, which was nice.
They had parents miced up, and a couple of his buddies went,
and it was funny because they're like just nerdy 23-year-olds.
Because James Wood is a 23-year-old.
He just happens to be one of the best in the world at baseball.
And his buddies are just, oh, what's up, guys?
What does it mean when your algorithm's jamming you with fact-
guys with Speedos. What does that mean?
What are you doing right now
during our episode? Your algorithm is up?
I don't need the laptop the rest of the way
I got my picks.
Is it my turn? No.
It's been my turn for
five minutes.
Jolly passes.
All right. Oh man, I really want to put someone on the nuts.
Jolly, you don't got it? Come on.
I feel like they'll buy, right?
Sure. No, I'm going to put a reliever on
Cubs.
That just feels like a layup.
I'm going to take one of the two Mets lefties and put them on to Cubs.
And that lefty is going to be Brooks Raleigh.
We're going to put Brooks Raleigh on the Cubs.
Cubs Raleigh.
I'm going to the Phillies.
I don't know if the Mets will trade of the Phillies.
The Phillies don't really have like a deep farm system right now.
I know they don't, but it's not like.
I don't do the Cubs really.
But it is Brooks Ralee.
Yeah.
Well, it's good.
Put some respect.
Brochrely's having a really nice ear.
He's watching the game.
You didn't even hear your response.
I know, that's fine.
All right, anyways.
That's not a great picture for Brooks.
No.
Oh, God.
No, no, no.
The lighting is harsh.
It's tough.
Can he borrow Kittrich's beer?
Yeah, that's exactly.
It looks like one of those guys like, look, look, I didn't look great before.
I grew out this beard now.
The beer at home.
Yeah, he gets it from the beard.
I think he's using Nelson Cruz's eyebrows, too.
What's up with those?
It's a face mash.
All right, I'm out of relievers, so that's tough.
I've got another one ready.
I think they've got a fun related.
How many more picks do I have?
I got like a dumb starter.
Yeah, I'll do a dumb starter.
Yeah, hell yeah.
Okay.
I want to put guys on the Astros because I feel like they're going to buy.
I feel like there's no way they're going to cave on this year.
What are they?
Today, they're three games out of the division.
So they're right there.
They need some pitching.
I really don't think they have a deep enough arm system to go get like guy guys, but they could get innings.
So I'm going to take Tomoyuki Sagano from the Rockies, put him on the Astros because he's healthy.
He's a body and they just need that right now.
So I'll put him on the Astros.
Not a sexy pick, but I actually think that could happen.
Just come eat some innings for us?
Yeah, that's it.
They've had like 10 pitcher injuries.
You and Amai figure it out.
Friends?
Friends.
Friends.
Friends.
Be nice.
Amai has been looking for some road to build up.
Oh, I like that angle.
Great nickname.
The roller coaster of my.
If you were watching a pitch, you never know.
Did you say, ugh.
I hate that pick.
I didn't say, ugh.
I hate that pick.
I just said, ugh.
What's wrong with it?
I don't think they need an inning cedar.
I think they need somebody better than an inning cedar.
I think you really liked my board all the way through.
No, no.
And I'm taking it personal.
No, no.
All I'm saying is I think that they, I like your philosophy on helping the Astros with the starting pitcher.
I just, and I just.
And I know there's not that many guys, right?
There's Freddie Corral and there's Clay Holmes.
I don't think they can afford any of those guys.
I really don't.
Name an Astros prospect.
No, I can't.
I mean, I don't take enough.
I mean, Astros prospect.
Popcorn chicken is finally back at KFC.
You can stop emailing about it.
Texting, DMing, comment blasting, tweeting, skyriding.
It's back.
So grab some crispy, crunchy classic popcorn chicken.
What I had for lunch,
today, popcorn chicken, and a lot of it.
I was literally inhaling it.
It was on John Boy's Insta story, so I hope you got to see that.
I remember the first time I ever had KFC popcorn chicken.
Yeah?
Yeah, it's ingrained in my mind, and now it's back.
KFC popcorn chicken, it's finger licking good.
Prices and participation may vary.
Tax tip and fees extra.
I'm going to give my team a player.
Oh.
I don't think the twins have ever bought on this.
this episode ever.
We could go back and check that,
but I don't think anyone's ever sent someone
to the twins in this exercise.
I guarantee you.
And you've got somebody on your crappy team.
What do you mean?
I regret it.
I'll say I regret it.
He sent someone to the guard.
JJ Bladay is going to remember.
But I didn't send him there.
I'm sending this guy here.
It is going to be a bullpen piece,
and I don't think they're going to go
like, you know,
overall the Chapman, Mason,
like these guys are like,
no, they're not going to do that.
I do want to send a leftie.
and so you were talking about your team
and a couple different lefties you have there
I'm gonna steal AJ Minter
and put them in the doing spoolpen
I like it I think they need that
right now Cody Funderberg is kind of their lefty
out of there and he has some good stuff
but I just
I have a feeling they're going to add
and it's gonna be bits and pieces
kind of like you know let's make
they just got Nance from the Blue Jays
yeah
Minter seems like a guy they can get
relatively cheap and can
fit kind of their needs for this season.
I think the only part we messed up is that Minter feels like he looks more like a cub,
and Brooks really looks like a toy.
Yeah, you're so right.
Brooks Riley looks so much.
Oh, yeah.
That's hilarious.
Yes.
That is very,
and I kind of messed that up for us.
Troy Hawkins gets AJ Mentor under his wing.
Look out.
Hey, get ready to play some hacky sack, AJ Minter.
Ha ha, ha.
Let's hacky that sack.
it's matter what did you guys do on the flight
i'm like i'll tell you what chris rose is on the flight
double kettle one to the whole flight no he didn't
chris chenemy he sat
jolly yes i've never been on a flight where chris rose doesn't know
somebody on the flight every time we go there's like oh jared or whatever
oh my god today he sits down next to
no no he sits down next to he sits down next to
guy he knows and then the guy behind him directly's oh i've worked at fox for 30 years with
chris rose that's one of my dear friends that barthia shereas shout out he's the coordinating
so two people he knew on the plane because of course shout out to barney a charia he's the guy
who if you ever see a rod at a big event he is the guy standing next to him so front row at the
timber wolves game hey barthia would you like to go to the timber wolves game tonight i have tickets
Can he say it like that?
I knew the A-Rod was coming out.
I knew the A-Rod was coming out.
And you know what?
You hitched yourself to me.
That's a mistake by you.
I can't take you out like that.
Not yet.
What do you mean?
I will eventually.
One day.
Finally invited me to a dinner.
I appreciated it.
I got FaceTime-Den.
It was awesome.
So that was great.
Yes, you did.
That's kind of your thing, I guess.
All right. What do you got?
I'm going unsexy.
I'll take a little bit of Chris Rose's veteran experience.
The Cubs need pitching.
The Cubs need relief pitching.
there's a guy currently on an 11-game scoreless streak
that a team that's smart and should cash in an asset
that came up from nowhere, kind of.
The Diamondbacks.
Jonathan Loisiga has been fantastic for them
and using Chris Rose's good defense behind them matters.
Not a big strikeout guy because it's that heavy, heavy sinker.
Jonathan Loisga goes to the Cups,
and he pitches some fantastic eighth innings.
God, there is some injury risk there,
and that's kind of the last thing the Cubs meet again.
Having a hell of a year.
He's always been nasty.
It's just been health, man.
How about that?
It's been health and the Yankees' defense they put behind him for a little while there.
That'll work.
I like that.
So I've kind of backed myself into a corner here
because I think most of the starting pitching feels like it's gone.
But this is now we're in the back half of the draft and we can have a little fun.
I'm ready to have some fun.
Yeah.
Hun!
All right.
I can't walk out of here without helping my guardians offensively.
Let's go.
Let's go.
I'm not going short and lefty.
I'm not going to do it.
As much pressure as I'm going to put on my...
Or even mid-sized and lefty like Jollywood.
Six to, you know, it can be short and short.
No, it's not short.
That's mid-size, minimum.
I'm going short and righty.
But he's got some pop.
No.
He's played games outside of the warehouse.
Okay.
And back out.
All right.
Okay.
Thank you.
He's a 20 homer guy.
The nice thing is,
is that he doesn't have to move very far.
Just 276 miles north up I-71.
Beautiful.
Spencer Steer.
Golly.
Come on to the good C team in Ohio.
That's a sexy pick.
Let's go.
That's.
This is multiple years.
they need a right-handed hitting first baseman whom they can put him in the outfield if they need to.
I love Reese Hoskins as a dude.
I think he does mean a lot to that team, but they have enough veteran leadership where you can't have a guy producing the way, unfortunately, that Reese has.
So play him at first base.
Manzo, you're a DH.
Let's move.
That's that.
What do you got over there, pal?
Spencer Steer, I mean, look, yeah, he's.
seems like a guardian. That's all I have to say.
Twins legend. Twins legend.
You don't think much of him? I was just
talking to someone about Spencer Steer the other day
when I was in Minnesota. I mean, honestly
I was getting my pick together. I
have no brain power for you right now.
Okay, no worries. He would never do that to you.
No worries. He would never ignore your pick like that.
So, who's the best
team in baseball? What do you want me to say?
Nothing. Great pick, Spencer, steer to the
guardians. All right, I'm doubling up here.
You're doing two people. I'm
doubling up here.
Toxic.
Um, who's best team in baseball last year in the regular season?
Brewers.
Brewers.
Have we mentioned them at all?
No.
No.
And everybody always gets pissed at it.
Like, how do you not send somebody in Milwaukee?
That is kind of bad.
That would him do that.
It's really bad.
They don't need guys.
They have the best farms.
I know.
Luis Lara.
Yeah.
Five seven.
Here's 30 million.
They're the real team of Jeff's short, guys.
Yeah.
That's all true.
And I, I screwed up because I should have done this.
earlier so I can't do it now.
I can't do the one move I want to do.
So I'm going to do this other one.
Okay.
They need help at third base.
They want right-handed hitting.
No, no.
This guy has actually played very well, but here's the caveat.
He just went on the injured list with a laceration in his leg.
So I made a couple calls.
I said, how long do we think he's going to be out?
And they said they don't think very long.
Once that heals, he should be fine.
There's no structural issues.
If there's structural issues,
I'm going to come back and make an extra pick.
So Zach Gelloff is going to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Wow.
He seems like a brewer.
I like that.
That feels brewery-ish.
He is such a, he plays like six positions.
Yeah.
That's a great thing.
He looks like a brewer.
So there we go.
Okay.
I like your second pick a lot more.
Then Spencer Steer?
Yeah, I forgot.
I get it.
I mean, I understand.
But I'm trying to get me something.
Would you rather have J.J. Bladay or Spencer Steer?
Steer.
They need right-handed hitter.
They do need right-hand.
They do.
Their entire lineup is,
Gabriel Arias is the only right-hand
in any given day.
Although Hedgy is having a great year.
Oh, ever since Josh Naila told
he needs a Thomas guy
to get to first base.
Take that.
By the way,
Josh Nailer kind of needs one right now.
I'm just saying, like, hey,
you're going to call somebody out for that.
Wow.
It's been a weird...
Good play.
You guys are both good players.
Jeez, can you just like shake hands?
They got stuck together for a while,
but...
Seattle going to add someone?
Imagine me teammates with someone
like 12 years.
It's a long time.
I've had a guy that I was debating
making my first or second
pick in the draft because I think he has
to be traded.
He's having a down year, but he's known as one of the
streakier players.
Right-handed power to the Gills.
I couldn't find the team.
I wanted to put him on my fish, and maybe
it could work, just as a little spark.
I hopped around like
white side. I just, I couldn't find the spot.
He doesn't play enough defense to be on the Brewers.
And then I fucking saw.
And I hate to use that.
Yeah, you just, yeah, you don't use you.
Because one of my favorite players, one of Rob Seraccos' favorite players,
producing his butt off over there.
Eugenio Suarez.
Oh.
Hasn't been going, but he's as streaky as hell.
And God, if he gets a little playoff juice,
that guy could get you through some games.
It's the Boston Red Sox.
Whoa!
First base in DH, they've got some availability there.
They've been chasing right-handed pop for so long.
You could basically get them for on the house.
They think they're in it.
They're in it.
The smartest man in baseball has a chance to give the middle finger to everyone that's
trash about him.
Isn't he already sitting here?
Well, Craig Breslo?
In a front office, I should say.
The professor.
The man who thinks he's the smartest man in baseball.
Heard everyone chat shit about him for months.
A little free, Gino, he goes nuts for two months.
Interesting.
Gino to the Sox kid.
Does Gino?
So what do they do with Caleb?
He looked good in the universe.
He's playing first.
Gino plays first in D.H.
where he can split with...
So you're with Wilson Contreras?
He can...
You mean positionally?
He can split...
I mean, we've got Masataka Yoshita's getting some D.H.
games from the left side.
Andrew Monasterio played first base for them yesterday.
He hit a homer today.
That's because Concharis is suspended.
I can find you some Gino at bats in the Red Sox.
Yeah, I don't...
Same hair, Gino and Gabriel Arias.
just his is dyed blonde.
Same like straight hair.
Okay.
Nice.
That's for you.
Thank you.
I got a guy here who I think is a ball player's ball player.
I think I can take my guy.
A ball player's ball player.
He is an outfielder.
Okay.
He hits left handed.
There's a team.
I just sent somebody there who I think really, again, will be, what's the word I'm looking
for, aggressive at the deadline.
They got a guy named Maricio Dubon.
DuBond.
He needs to be that shortstop.
Leave this.
I'm sorry, you got Jim Jarvis.
Jim Jarvis, baby.
I love Jim Jarvis too.
Roll the Jim Jarvis tape, Rob.
Just get us through the end of the episode.
Let Dubon play shortstop there.
He's having a great offensive year.
You get that plus there.
And let's get you a left field there.
I think the Cardinals are going to be smart about the way.
No, Dubon's staying, Rob.
He's just moving.
Short scarring.
He had it.
Okay.
The Cardinals will be smart.
Jim Jarvis.
There's Jim Jarvis.
The Cardinals will be smart
with who they're giving up.
A guy that's going to be a free agent
at the end of this year.
Lars Neutbar goes and plays
left field for the Braves.
You're the card selling.
I think Lars Neufar is going too.
I think they will sell those types of guys.
I don't think they're going to extend him.
He's a free agent at the end of the year.
He just came back.
He's been hurt.
It just came back.
It's looked good.
I think he goes.
to the Braves and Shores up.
They love to do outfielders.
Yeah.
The deadline.
He feels similar to Yaz, to me.
But I guess it would be an upgrade.
Maricio Dubon back to the Braves.
DuBong.
Yeah, we need a new picture there.
New Bar to the Braves.
Who's up?
That's me.
Jolly Al.
Are these your last two?
These are my last two.
Wow.
I got two names I like.
I'm happy that Jimmy's going to be here for my last pick.
I got two names I like.
Oh, what?
Seems like.
Yanks are about to win?
Nat's bullpen stuff.
Down one.
Who's pitching?
I like Ryan McMahon.
Okay.
Okay.
It might be three to two yanks.
The World Cup game is tied.
Jolly's up.
All right.
We did a snake for the first time.
That kind of woke something up.
Oh.
I don't think, I mean, if you count Gino, I guess that counts.
But there's not.
Is this a,
I'm a lifey.
Rob,
you're in your bag,
right?
A little bit.
Rob's got three cameras.
He's got four mics.
Oh my God.
I guess this comes out Wednesday.
Lars Newbar could be a Philly too.
What the hell was I talking about?
Large Newport of the Phillies,
you haven't picked yet.
You can't change you.
I can.
You haven't picked Maricio DuPont.
Like,
I don't even know what you're talking about.
We haven't done a lot of third base when we have to.
Go!
Two one.
Norway
It was it
Some guy off of a set piece corner
Some Norwegian
Let's do it
Guy with blonde hair
Not Erling
No not early
Sorry
That was crazy
Three times in one show
Sorry
It's a good game
It might be a good game
All right
Well keep going
I'm sorry
If we had this done
I think half the company's at the pub right now
I would love a pub
Oh
Oh
That's a good
Breaking new professional show.
Breaking news.
Wait, was it Grisham?
Did he pop them?
How many relievers did we send to the nationals?
Apparently not enough.
Was it Grisha?
Yeah.
Nice.
I was on my fantasy, too.
Oh,
my God.
What inning is that?
The eight?
Guys, we are doing a show
that nobody cares about this at all.
That's not true.
To make my face.
It's the international game.
Let's go.
Fine.
All right.
It happens once every four years.
Our show happens once in.
Nolan Aronado to the Phillies.
Oh.
That's my pick.
Nolan Aronado to the Phillies.
Do you want to redo?
Nope.
Alec Baum is almost that negative one war for the year.
The Arizona dimebacks aren't competing in Aronado is a rental.
So much testosterone.
Glove.
Oh my gosh.
You shore up infield defense, which is kind of been a problem for them this year.
You get a right hand stick in there.
They're probably going to upgrade elsewhere, including the outfield.
Maybe Bone goes back in the deal.
I don't know.
I think that if you're the Phillies and you're trying to win the world,
World Series, I don't know if
Alex Blooms your third basement would do.
And he's been hitting like fourth and fifth for them.
So this is an upgrade that I think they
could do because he's a rental
and I think they could afford him. So Nolan are not
of two folks. Kind of had to defend
a little bit. It's kind of out there. I had some
Willie Castro to the Phillies vibes.
I was wondering if you were going to move Willie.
Yeah. It's a little. It kind of fits the Yankees
too for being honest.
All right. I got one more
pick. Last round. Wait a second. They're taking
the goal away.
I'm just going to power through this
because Rose is going to chime in anything.
I think Seth Lugo also gets moved.
I think the Royals sell off everything
and they kind of start over a little bit.
What's a team we haven't really given a pitch or two?
Oh.
Have the Dodgers got anybody yet?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, they got Clay Holmes.
I gave them Clay Holmes.
You guys were kind of shocked
and then nobody's given the Dodgers anything.
Yeah, I don't really want to.
I feel like they have plenty.
They're going to.
This team?
Ryan.
This team could use a fifth starter
because Jack Lighters hurt.
Yes, he is.
Bad ankle.
And Seth Lugo looks like a Texas Ranger.
And then you link him back up with Jacob de Grom
and all the other Mets that are on that team.
Bang.
With the year of control,
Seth Lugo goes to the Texas Rangers.
Okay.
Sure.
Two fun names to end up.
Still the first place, Texas Rangers?
Still the first place Texas Rangers.
As we record those.
Buyers.
I hope I don't regret just not giving you guys Ryan Jeffers.
I'm glad Jimmy's back now.
Oh, the follow-up with the seller-chats.
Same exact formula.
Boom!
A little fortitude by the Yanks.
How much of that can you cut, Rob?
Like the goals and the Yanks?
Why you yell at him for interrupting your show?
It's crazy.
How I'm professional.
Everybody except for me and Jolly have been on this episode.
It makes me to Zoom.
I wish we're on a Zoom call right now.
Wouldn't have to deal with it.
All right.
This is an interesting pick.
It's a stupid pick, but the last pick is for stupid picks, right?
The last pick is for stupid pigs.
You went with safe or whatever.
I mean, that's not safe.
It's not safe.
for stupid times.
Yeah, Chris, this should have been,
your first pick should have been
what I'm doing right now.
I probably should just give Jeffers
to the Yankees.
Again, I just don't think it's going to happen.
From all of like what I've,
whatever.
Are you doing another catcher?
I'm doing another catcher to the Yankees.
Because I really like this one.
What?
I know what this is.
Yeah, I got a guy for you.
You're going to love this.
I'm going to love this.
Because I do think the Yankees
have a ton to give up.
Do it.
You guys have high minor league
level players, like ready to make the
jump.
Yeah.
And you can give some of these guys up.
And this guy has control.
I believe this year plus two more catcher from the snakes.
Gabriel Moreno goes to the Yankees.
Whoa.
Not the NOS catcher.
I thought you were going to say.
I'm not saying Dalton there.
I think they can go get this guy, by the way, because they do have, they have kind of a
logjam of guys at the top end there.
Diamondbacks would want major league ready talent.
I think the Yankees can give him that.
And this is the solution for a couple of.
couple years, this lines up with Judge and like that whole kind of window here.
That would be a really good.
This guy right here, he'd be a hell of a New York Yankee.
Interesting.
It's a great last round.
That's a big swing.
I think the D-backs love him, love time.
I think so too.
I'm not saying he's on the block.
I'm saying if the Yankees go and offer what I think they can offer, I think the snakes
seriously have to think about it.
I would more so expect the Moreno four-year extension than the trade to the Yanks.
But I'm very open to it.
If any team wants to listen,
especially a good right-handed power hitting catcher.
Said to drop the mic moment.
It doesn't exist, but it does.
Wow.
And the laptops are closed for two men.
It was burning my thoughts.
Only the sports men and their John Boy Media shirts.
This is the shot, Rob.
This is all we need.
This will be the final.
God, you have oven mitts for a house, dude.
I got a peanut head.
Do we want a sexy pick or a points pick?
Because I could just run...
Who was I looking at?
I could put Brock Burke out there,
get my five points and keep it moving.
You know that's not how I play.
I'll swing for the fence is bad.
I play for keeps.
Do another Marlins pick.
Okay.
Okay.
I will.
For you, Jolly?
Fuck it.
That's awesome.
Because I don't really have a team for this guy.
Okay.
Teams looking for innings.
Yeah, let's do the Marlins.
Screw it just because if this is right, then it'll be an all-time moment.
A guy that had no value, a guy that was going down as a no good, very bad free agent signing.
Jacob Junis.
Has had a fantastic year.
He's a first-time all-star, so there's some bonus points.
Mutual option for next year, which means there is no option for next year.
Eduardo Rodriguez.
Goes to South Fish.
We are just stealing the snakes.
Yeah, it was a late snakes round.
It could be a really good seller.
Late snakes round.
Yeah.
And again, the Marlins, they kind of have their playoff rotation if they really, if they needed it.
They just need some innings.
Give me some Erod.
Your hat's got some playoff experience.
Sure.
Sox, a lot of years.
Why not?
Now, to finish this up, I've got a bunch of, yeah, because I got rid of my relievers early.
All right.
We're all good.
I'm going to get a water
to us me.
You want one?
You want a water?
I earned it.
I have to go position, player.
We haven't given it.
I haven't given anybody to the Toronto Blue Jays.
You're defending American League champions.
And I think they, I mean, look,
every team outside of Kansas City and the Angels are in it in the American League.
So the Blue Jays are still in it.
They need some help offensively.
This guy isn't going to change the world.
He's a bit part at best.
but he's an athletic outfielder that can still hit left-handed pitching
and has done some nice things in the playoffs in years past.
Lane Thomas is on his way, nortch of the border.
Great.
Those are guys that-
Great.
He's getting traded.
Ending the draft with thunder.
He's getting traded.
I think that should have been my first pick.
Mason Miller should have been my last pick.
Mason Miller would have been perfect.
Jason Miller won one is insane.
I love it.
It's unhinged.
Chris Rose.
Which is what you are today.
Chris Rose.
Well, and that'll do it.
A little unhinged.
So we need everybody to tell us what order we're finishing in.
Maybe the most impressive, maybe the worst pick.
Yeah.
Ooh.
Wish I just took Jeff McNeil and Brock Burke and won instead.
I will tell you this.
I had the worst pick in the draft by picking this chair.
Oh, yeah.
On my ass.
Yeah.
It is.
We got.
Do we have a proctologist on staff?
This is really.
killing me. Shout out, Dalton Feeley did assemble a great Google sheet for us and we just ripped
apart his snakes at the end, which he'll actually be excited. Not all of us did. Everyone saw
Bobby Sorakow. Unbelievable, Robbie. Incredible. In his bag. Uh, shout out to John Boy for hopping in
and talking about a Yankees game that was now four days ago as you watch this. And shout out to
the Norwegian hockey side. And no, shout out to the Norwegian hockey team. I don't know what they're doing
right now.
We checked on them.
I put the game on record.
Thank you guys.
Bye, guys.
We'll see you next season.
Let us know who won.
It's the last one.
Good line.
Forever.
Treves out.
Chris Rust on the screen.
Two Chris Rose on the screen.
Chris Rose on the screen.
