We played a little basketball together. We did some stuff in the gym. You know, just guy stuff. So pretty good weekend for me. I'm excited to talk about some of these games. There were some electric baseball that was played. How are you guys doing? We're good over here, man.

We went to the stadium briefly. last night to watch the Yanks string us along for another week as we limped towards the deadline. Some fun stuff there. We'll talk about that. I'm doing all right. BPD, how you doing, Big Daddy? Pretty good. I'm not too bad.

Typically, you're in charge of your own kids. New thing that's happening now that never happened when I was younger is everyone has a lifeguard. There's a pool. Love that. So you don't have to like worry about that. That's like the most, that's the biggest fear I think that most parents have is like that happening. Right. So lifeguards are in.

But you watch your own kids, man. What do you think this is? I don't know. Well, I take that back. Actually, I brought a babysitter with me. Wow. So, you know, mom and dad can just chill a little bit. What a flex.

Shout out to the babysitter? Shout out flex for having a babysitter. Going to a party where you're, I don't know. Tying it up with Matthew Stafford in the gym, whatever. I wasn't at a party with Stafford. It was a very intimate hangout. Thank you. It was very intimate.

We'll talk about that in a little bit tough. Padres won the second game 10-4 in Nationals. Scherzer v. Musgrove pitchers matchup. Also 8-7, man. The offensive went off in this series. Padres hit 377. Nats hit 336. Tough series to be a pitcher.

Strasbourg does a Sim game. Doesn't feel good after. We hate that. Darvish returns for the Padres Monday. We do like that. Welcome to the Crohn Zone. How's your cycle, Jakey C? In Cincinnati, huge series for the Reds,

they could cut the Brewers Division League down to one. Oh, no. The broomsticks come out as the law firm gets it done. Houser, Woodruff, and Burns. The second game goes Buenos Gantos, 11 innings. Man, and the Brewers, their offense puts up runs this series. 11, 7, and 8. They hit 311 as a team.

Trevor Ploof was telling you about it. Reds. Tough. Cassiano. Leaves after a hit by pitch. Hate that. Tough Brewers. Big lead in the Central.

The St. Louis Cardinals take two out of three from the San Francisco Giants. Boy, did they need that? a big way, especially after the Giants took game one, seven, two. Kim and Wade LeBlanc season. Holy smokes, three one Cardinals, two one Cardinals. Alex Reyes' MLB record converting his 24th straight save to start his career. Good for you, kid. Yes, a couple yakers.

Cardinals trying to get involved at the trade deadline. Phillies hosted the Marlins, and they take three out of four. That might mean something, folks. Double-header day. Phillies and Marlins split. 5-2-7-0. Marlins in the second game. And then Phillies in 10, Velasquez v. Thompson.

And then Wheeler out-duals, Garrett 7-4. The Phillies. Travis Jankowski with the big series. How's your lettuce like that? J.T. Realmudo, aka BBD, with the big walk-off in this. Marte with the big series. will he be playing somewhere else soon? New York Yankees.

We will see. Nola comes back for the Phillies on Tuesday. Pirates host the first place Mets, and oh boy, it's looking like a sweep, grand slam walk off in the second game for the pirates, and then they go up six nothing in the third. These Mets are built different. Snort. They come back, they chip away.

Big Blankenhorn. Homer. You know I love that, and they get the Conforto Yacker in the ninth to win 7-6. Circle that one if you're a Mets fan, because we would be saying some tough things about them today if they didn't win that one. Stallings had the walk-off Grand Slam. Fastball, inside, inside. Rockies, Dodgers, Dodgers take two out of three from formerly My Rocks. Dodgers took the first two. Rockies, they fight, though. 10th inning, game three, they win. Six to five. Love that. Built entirely different. Rockies have a ton of COVID stuff going on. Dazza, Senzatella, Shaasin, Almonte. Bad times, don't like that. Mookie with a big series,

but then he gets some hip stuff going on. We think he's okay. Walker Buehler, seven innings, pitch, tour, and runs, he is what you call a stud. And the final game in the National League, final series. Diamondbacks hosted the Cubbies. Cubbies? They take two out of three. That team's trying to fight to not be traded. Might be too little too late at this point, boys, but they win 5'1.

Fortitude with good fortitude. But the debacks take the third game. My Snakes. Merrill Kelly gets it done. Javier. Javier's Homer. Cubs win two out of three. You're so freaking good. That's just show. That's just show.

It's just show. That's big leagues. Speaking of a show. Speaking of a show, there was some show ball being played around that national league. Treve, what jumps out to you, Big Daddy? I want to start with the brew crew. Everybody, everybody talking about the Reds. We want to do this.

We want to do that. All Milwaukee is done all season is shut everybody up. Four games up going into this series, Jake says, hey, they can cut the lead down to one if they sweep. They got sweat. Yeah. Brewer's got a seven-game lead in the Central. The original law firm does it. And look, we keep saying this over and over with the Brew crew.

And I like the Reds. I like watching play. Castellanos wasn't in this series. Is that a difference probably? Yeah. But the Brew crew is going to make additions and a big addition. I got little birdies telling me all sorts of stuff. I can't talk about it yet.

Okay. Can't talk about it yet. but the brew crew they're looking for a World Series they don't care about the division title they don't care about making the playoffs been there done that with this team

they want and they have the pieces they have the postseason roster if they go out and do what I think they're going to do they'll be competing with the Dodgers and the Padres to get to that world series

man they have They have the second largest divisional lead right now. The White Sox have an eight-game lead in the American League. They have a seven-game lead, man. And we are at a part of the season where, you know, there's going to be a couple trades and a couple teams, you know, something might click. Look at the NL Central.

And now that the brewers are the brewers, we believe in them. They got pitching their lineup. They have some guys starting to click Urias, Yeli, if he has a second half, Adamas has been a stud. Like the Cincinnati Reds, they're kind of the Cincinnati Reds. We'll see if they do something at the trade deadline. They hit a little bit when they pitch enough.

You know, they win some series. Cubs in St. Louis, I mean, they both have negative run differential. So to Cinty. And like, it's looking like the brewers are going to roll. Brewers are going to run away with this. We ask the question if they're going to come, if they're ever going to be out of first place,

and I don't think it's going to happen, especially not with this lead now. I mean, after that serious, series, it's tough to imagine. It's tough to imagine. And man, if you're a Sincey fan, that's got to sting a little bit because we did our Friday episode and, you know, it was teams we wanted to root for. And Sinci was one of them because they were kind of the only other NL team that could also

keep the wild card interesting. I mean, that almost seems dead in the water. San Diego's 55 and 41. Sincis is 48 and 45. So that NL playoff picture minus the NL East, which we'll talk about in the second. but good for the brewers man and trev that's the going away statement is like if you're talking world series teams you have to discuss the brewers you have to yes yes with the starters in the back end of the bullpen when you think about postseason baseball that's what you think about

timely hitting which how can you prepare for timely hitting you can't but when you have those three guys they have i mean three four guys that you can run out there all you need is three in the postseason three starters stack your bullpen with your best guys, which they have. Look out, man. Yeah. And if you, you know, you can go, if you turn it into three starters, and then you have Peralta or you have whoever it is,

be the swing man like we saw Patrick Corbyn do for the Nats. You know, you can have a good pitcher pitching every inning. And then you kick it to Williams and Hayter. They have a formula that's very clear. They are a scary team. Treve, I think the other fun combo right now in the NL is the NLE. the Mets crazy game yesterday. The breakdown's already out.

Our guy, Taiwan Walker, trying to make a play. What do you think? I think it was fair, right? It was tight, and anytime it's going to be that tight, you can't fling the ball anyways. But it looks like, I mean, you see the ball kind of hovering over the line. It looked like it was there, right? I'm thinking, so I have a baseball.

Okay. Right here. Okay. Like, it seemed to me, like, there's only a small portion of the baseball that sits on the ground, right? It's a round ball. Spherical. Math pod. If it's over the line, it's not touching the line.

It has to touch the line. I really think that was a foul ball. Okay. I don't think it was touching the line. It might have been hovering over it. Right. But I don't think it was touching it. But, I mean, look, that's a judgment call right there.

Right. No, we're reviewing it. Home plate on fire. what's he going to do? He made the call that he thought was right. But you're right, Taiwan. Can't really fling it. The bases are loaded, right?

Bases are hucked. Everyone's scored all three of them. Everyone's running around. And hey, good for the Mets. Because, man, if they don't win that game, Philly's a game behind them. And we're talking about your first series back from the All-Star break and it's the Pittsburgh Pirates.

So for them to come from behind and get some good energy out of that series when, you know, things were looking rough. Good for that. I think that's one if you're a Mets fan. I would circle it because I think if you lose that game, you start teeter in a dangerous line, especially because trades are coming. Atlanta's making moves.

They're four games back. They traded for vote. They traded for jock. They're looking for any sort of good juju. they do have the best run differential in the NLEs. And the Philadelphia Phillies, your Phillies, Trev, voice crack. 47 and 45.

Two games above 500. And they got Dombrowski, like, they will make a move. NLEs is getting fun. They have to. Anales is getting fun. The Phillies have to do something because their window is like now. Like, and, you know, sure seems like a small window. I don't know how much you could fit through that.

window but it is a window you sign all these guys to these deals like you're expecting to win so they they do have to do something i kind of want to go back to the met's pirate series because it was so electric we had like the stroman nagowski thing going on which like the galsi he looked pretty bad in that like he just looked like he was mad that he got out but even after all that that he had like a banger of a series dude like he was he was crushing the ball so i thought that was kind of cool like because he didn't look great in that video and then to come back and can still do it. Maybe that's how he plays.

There are certain guys that need to get fired up to play well. Maybe he's one of those guys. But then, you know, the Mets squeak out that last one, but then you get DeGrom going to the IL. You get Lindor going to the IL. It's rough waters for the Mets right now. And I'm kind of rooting for them because they've been going through it all season. Like they've had a crazy season with guys underperforming,

guys going on the IL. So they're still in first place. but, man, teams are coming, like you said. Yeah, and that's, you know, I know Mets fans will never truly love me or jimmer because we are Yankee fans and our souls, but you lose DeGrom, who's the best pitcher in baseball. You lose Lindor, who I know he had a slow start this year,

but when he's right, you know, he's a top player in the league, and if they lose that, if they get swept by the pirates. So, you know, energy is a real thing. momentum's a real thing and hopefully they can bottle some of that and keep it going. And yeah, the Nogowski arguments online were pretty funny because he's having a really nice year for Pittsburgh. Like, good for him. Hope he found it and figured it out.

But yeah. Watching 69. Watching Mets fans and Pirates fans go back and forth on the internet. That's a good time. Trev, I don't know. What else is speaking to you? Like the, you know, the NL. West is still kind of static. up top. St. Louis clips

San Francisco a little bit. St. Louis has my brain in a pickle because what do you do? Like you kind of you can't sell but you can't buy. It's almost like let it ride and see if they find something, but I don't know. Yeah, things can change. I mean, look, that division looks like it's pretty much locked up. I did talk to Jay Flair. He is feeling good. He is throwing bullpens.

Like he will be back. Is that enough for them to go on this magical run? I don't know, man. That's definitely going to help. But I'm interested in the West. The Dodgers take two or three from the Rockies and the Giants where they lost, they lost two out of three. So now the Dodgers are sitting one game back.

I know this is a recap show, but the Dodgers and the Giants are facing off. I believe in a four-game set. So this is a big week of baseball on the West Coast. I've been saying it all along, man. The Dodgers are like that shark that's coming. Like you see the fin. It's headed your way.

bleeding. They are coming. The Giants have been able to stay ahead of that and continue to do things because they're a really good baseball team. I think this series is going to be like must watch, must watch TV. Yeah, and I think we are a schedule pod now. Like we've announced that. And tonight's one if you're a Giants fan, Gossman is on the bump first, Gonsolin. Gossman's been one of the best pitchers in baseball this year. If the Dodgers clip you tonight, you know, you could be lining yourself up for a couple dangerous days. If the Dodgers jump you in the standings, like that could be one of those. We'll be sitting here on Friday, like it might stay that way the rest of the way.

Man, most Dodgers. C. Rose brought up a good point. I guess Muncie is on Baby Watch. Oh, okay. second now so that's a big part of the series man like if muncie has to leave go do his thing that's one of the best bats in the nl not going to be there for this series but like these teams have a lot of games against each other like i fully expect the nOS to come down to like the last part of the season and the incentive to win the division is which is why we love baseball is so

high, like that's going to be, it's going to be crazy baseball. It's going to be crazy baseball. Yeah, and the other thing that did jump out to me, and I know I'm normally with Jimmy on this, I mean, when you blow a team out and you start getting into the 20s run-wise, like, you know, it's kind of all the same. If you start hitting position players, it is whatever. Man, the Padres, I do think them putting big numbers on the scoreboard to start this second half. Because, you know, in the NL East, NL West, they've been a couple games behind.

NL West. If there was any team that could have got caught in the wild card, it would be if the Padres ran into a little slump. I think them putting crooked numbers on the scoreboard and reminding people like, we're the Padres. Like, when we're right, we are built different. I think that was impactful. Yeah, they're so fun to watch, dude. They're so fun to watch. I mean, they won the game freaking, was it, 24 to 8? And then they come back, the next day and put 10 up. Like, they can swing the bat. They can pitch better than what they showed in this series, too.

Again, the West, man. West is fun. The West. I just did, uh, ad for sequence. I just did a, the Shohei versus Tatis at Bat from the All-Star game. And watching those two guys go out, it is so fun. like you're literally watching the two faces of baseball go at each other

and Tatis man like you know I've watched Padres games every once in a while I see highlights of Tatis all the time he's so freaking cool like I don't understand like I he like gets it we're gonna talk about like yeah some heroic stuff later but everything the guy does you're like oh like I wish I did it like that I don't know if you get that feeling that's right no man it's uh all as all of our talking baseball fans love and when I bring it to golf Colin Morcawa

won the open this weekend. He's 24 and the guy handles himself like an adult adult and you think back to when you're 24 and you're like, what? And then you really think about it. These guys really are wired differently. Like we get lost in their athletic stuff

but to be that good at that age, You also have to be mature to a certain degree to work, to have that work ethic. And, like, Janus, I'll go all over the sports, babe. Janice is 26. He gave a press conference the other day that was about, like, life and how you think of stuff. And people were like, damn, dude. Like, that's, wow. So, yeah, those Tatis Machado, you might hear about them later.

Those special dudes, special dudes. Did we miss anything? I don't think so. BBD. How are you feeling over there? Think we're good on that now? I, uh, there is a part of me that is rooting for the Cubs just to like get hot for no reason. Just like a spiteful Cubs dugout.

Like you think you're going to trade us? Well, look at this. We banded together. There can be like, oh, it doesn't matter. We're already. Our bags. You guys can hold hands all you want. Our bags are packed.

Trev, can you tell me what happened in the American League? Sure can. Well, we'll start off in Boston. Is that where it was? It was in the Bronx, baby. It was in New York. Way to go, Max. Hey, guess what?

It was in the Bronx. Supposed to be a four-game set. Game one postponed because the Yankees have COVID. So they went down to a three-game set. Yankees take 2 or 3-0 Red Sox in that first game. 3-1 Yankees 9-1 Yankees. Both offense is struggled except for Gleiber. Two home runs in games 2 and 3.

That's only his fourth and fifth of the season in his first time homering and back to that game since August of 2019. Will he show up for the second half? We will see. Chapman gets used in relief and very low-leveraged situations, but he does have two scoreless innings. That's three straight now for him. Christian Arroyo three hits with a homer and a double.

And here's all the COVID guys. You ready? Judge, Ursheda, Duizaga, Cortez, Higashioca, and Peralta. They all test positive for COVID. Voits on the I-O. The Castro's out for the freaking season. I'm sorry to hear that with the ACL.

Yankees take two out of three in that series. Moving on the White Sox hosting the Astros, the White Sox drop it on the table. After losing game 1, 7 to 1, they win the final two games. 10-1 and 4-0. Neither team hit particularly well. I guess the White Sucks hit some homers.

Tim Anderson had six hits with four extra-based hits and two. Ponging runs. Gialito was kind of a star here. Complete game in game two gives up just one earn run with 8Ks. Rodon follows that up with seven. One hit shutout innings. Alvarez and Correa. How about this?

They combined to go 0 for 21 with 12Ks. That's how you end up losing two out of three games. And another great thing that happened. in this series. Lance Lynn, two-year, $38 million extension. Friend of the pot, we are happy did that happen. Moving on, in Oakland, the Indians went in and took two of three. The first game was five, four, the A's, and then three, two, and four to the Indians. Bradley Zimmer had five hits, two homers and four RBI, Ahmed Rosario, five hits with two extra base hits. Olson, of course, he raked four hits with three extra base hits, and Jed, Larry, with the walk-on, two-run, home run,

in game one. Dude, it was off a manual class A. Jet Lowry is like 50 freaking years old. What a moment. But the Indians take two out of three. Moving on, this one hurts a little bit. This one hurts, Jakey. Twins go into Detroit and what happens, they get swept.

1-0 Tigers, 5-4 Tigers. Both of these were in seven-ending games. Then 7-0 Tigers at the end. The twins cannot do it right now. Nothing. Tiger started pitcher is 1-3-5 ERA and the relievers vested it with a 0.84. I don't even want to talk about what happened with the twins. Scope, five hits and a homer and four RBI's Willie Peralta. They go seven shutout innings in game three.

Cabrera had a crazy walk-off single in the eighth inning of that second game. It was basically a blooper that fell in front of Nick Gordon and behind Andrewton Simmons. That's pretty cool to see. Garver is returning. Maybe that'll help the twins out. Probably not good for them and Urania placed on the 10-day aisle for the Tigers, but they sweep those Twinkies. Moving on, the Rangers went into Buffalo, I believe.

They're still playing in Buffalo, aren't they? Yes, they are. 10-2 Blue Jays, and 7, 10-0 Blue Jays and 7. They get the sweep. They hit the crap out of the ball because that's what they do. Ryu goes seven shutout endings. Ray goes six and two-thirds shut outings, and Matt's goes five shutout innings,

and they give up just to combine 10 hits. Glad he hits three home runs, including his 30th. Jake picked him to go under 28 and a half this season. That was really dumb. The Royal Jr., it's a grand slam in game in the first ending of Game 3. In Game 3, Springer, comes back. He gets a homer. It records his first multi-hit game since late June.

Kiner Flef is the only Ranger with three hits, and only three Rangers recorded multiple hits. That's how you get swept. Blue Jays sweep three from the Rangers. Moving on, the Orioles go into Kansas City and take two out of three. Nine, two Royals, eight four Orioles, five-oh Orioles. Matt Harvey, believe it or not, I don't. really believe this stat could be made up. He goes six shutout innings in game three. Hunter

Dozier with seven hits and two extra base hits, Maryfield and Nikki Lopez, four ribbies each in the series. John Means expected to return back on Tuesday. I'm still going on people. Acapella here. Moving on to the last series. Mariners at Angels. Mariners, my Mariners. J.P. Crawford's Mariners take two out of three, six five Mariners, nine four Angels in game two, seven four Mariners on the rubber match there. The Mariners starting pitchers, not great. fans in the crowd bringing them down into the dugout where they would be safe is nothing short of freaking heroic. And a lot of times we just see these guys and yeah, they're baseball players and that's all we ever talk about about them. But these are guys in like, you know, the face of danger essentially, like went and made sure that others were okay too. And I think that's really important to talk about. It's a heroic deed done by some extraordinary guys. And I just wanted to make sure that we talked about that a little bit because there's, I mean, there's nothing more selfless than going and putting, you know, your own body potentially at harm to go save others.

So shout out to those guys. Obviously great baseball players, but this showed pretty good dudes as well, good people. So the Hero Award, Machado, Tatis, and Myers. Yeah, I mean, at the time when it was happening, there's videos of the people in those sections under the seats, hiding, because no one had any idea what was happening. And they left the dugout to go help other people. And so there's that image of everyone like running away from the state. which at the time, and now you have a knee flex reaction like, wait, why would you do that? But at the time, nobody knew what was going on.
