Starting point is 00:00:01 What's going on? We will be live for the last half hour of the deadline. And we'll recap all the trades that just happened in the last half hour because it feels like it's 10. Let's do it. Trade, trade, trade, trade, trade, trade. Trade, trade. Trade, trade. All right, what's going on, everybody?
Starting point is 00:00:28 Welcome to the live last 30 minutes trade deadline live show here on talking baseball, brought to you by draft kings. We're just going to sit and react. I mean, there's so much that just went down. Trev, Jake, BBD. We're all here. I don't even know where to start, really. I mean, BPD hit the passing button. Well, whenever something happens, did something just happen?
Starting point is 00:00:50 Something happened. What happened? Hassin. John Goams and Josh Harrison, too? The A's. That was a while ago. That happened in the same. Didn't talk about it on here.
Starting point is 00:01:01 It happened in the same minute as the bias trade. We're doing a show. Same time as bias. We've got to get the pass and bun going. It's going to be hot, BPD. Hover. I love her. Yeah, that we can talk about.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Bias, we can talk about. Gibby. Gibby, we can talk about Is that it? There's a lot of shit happen. We didn't talk about Schwerber last night. He goes to the Red Sox. Jake said this on the last episode.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Rizzo's a better fit for Fenway and Schwerber's a better fit for Yankee Stadium. So it kind of feels like two teams playing defense more than offense there because they're both true rentals. I do think the part of that dance that was interesting is that the Yankees need to go now and Schwerber is hurt. He could be three to four weeks. Well, the Red Sox, I mean, they've been kind of a well-oiled machine all year so they can figure it out when Schwerber comes in
Starting point is 00:01:53 and that dude was a story of this season. The streak he was on and he's played in some big baseball games. Both those boys had on the Cubs. Cubs fans, how you doing today, Ben? Well, how does it work out for the Red Sox? Schwerber will play left field. You slide Verdugo to centerfield and Kike to second, and Duran gets back off the starting blocks.
Starting point is 00:02:17 I saw our guy Lomerlone with a nice video on the internet today. Depth and bodies. I mean, Schwerber has a little experience at first base. If that continues to be their hole, they can plug them in there. He doesn't. He has one inning where he made no plays. He has no experience. I'm just saying we're loading up for playoff baseball. Don't fake news this.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Don't fake news. We're not fake news and I'm giving you real news, babe. Well, he doesn't have experience at first base. Kyle Schwerber's got experience. He, um, Duran, they don't know. He's a rookie. So if that doesn't pan out and maybe this year he's not ready, we know Kike's been playing out there.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Renfro, he's kind of got platoon stats. He always has been. He had a hot start. He's starting to come down. So you just, it gives you options come playoff times because everyone here knows, I mean, man, if you get to the playoffs and someone's hot and someone's not, you play. Them the rules.
Starting point is 00:03:16 And when you get a guy like Kyle Schorber, that just gives you all sorts of options. I think he's got to go to left field, but that moves. Kike has been ranking out as a really good center fielder. That would move Dugie to center, Kike to second probably. Yeah, that's what I said. And then Duran goes to the best. bench, but they still need a first basement. So the, people were still expecting the Red Sox to go try and get like a Hosmer trade,
Starting point is 00:03:43 if they were going to unload him or there. There was another first baseman out there that they were talking about the Red Sox last night. But they might be done. Yeah. I don't know. I know he hasn't played a ton, but there's a lot of legitimate people saying that they are going to consider Schwabre at first.
Starting point is 00:04:00 So something just to put in the back of your head. That would be wild. He really, he's played one inning, his whole career. career. Major League. And minor. Well, I think there's some Cape Cod League stuff out there. It's first base. Trevor Poove played first base in the show. That's what I was just going to come in and say. Everyone says, it's just first base. Put a fucking, the big guy over there. No, dude, there's so many responsibilities, especially with the shifts nowadays. When you are shifting a right-hand
Starting point is 00:04:26 of batter, the first baseman is playing fucking second base, dude. And there's responsibilities for bunts, cuts and relays, pickoffs. There's so many things that go on that can lose you a game very easy. I like him in left field. They'll figure everything else out. They have other, like he's, he's not versatile. Everyone else is. So that's what the Red Sox have going for him. And they might still get a first basement. Who knows? Bryant still hasn't gone anywhere, right? Chris Bryant is. I keep refreshing everything. I'm, I'm sick of it. I'm sick of this trade deadline. I know everyone's juiced up about it. I'm tell you right now. I'm sick of this trade
Starting point is 00:04:58 deadline. All right. So the other one that happened last night after we were done was that Daniel Hudson. He's having a really good season for the Nats. He goes to the Padres. two prospects. He is a true rental, so you're not going to, I don't know what the return was, but I mean, guess it's nothing amazing. But when you're selling everyone, you sell everyone and you just get what you get.
Starting point is 00:05:16 But the Padres get some relief help there. He was good for the World Series. Nats, and he's been good this season. So that happened. Daniel Hudson goes to the Padres. He fits into that pen nicely. Then this morning or today, then you guys have got anything on Hudson?
Starting point is 00:05:33 the trap world series hero baseball hero meet the astros okay so then let's do today what do you want to talk about first burrios that was maybe the first big deal I got done today so far he goes to the blue jays
Starting point is 00:05:58 and they gave up a big package for him uh Barrios is a two-time All-Star. He's good. They gave up Pearson. No, no, no. It was Simeon Woods, Richardson, and Austin Martin.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Austin Martin. So they do get Barrios for... It does. They do get Burrios for next year as well. So that's good. But a lot of people were saying that might be an overpay of sorts. But, you know, go get your guy. Yeah, I saw there's a lot of interesting...
Starting point is 00:06:33 stuff going on here. I mean, Austin Martin is supposed to be, when he was coming out of the draft, you know, not a lot of guys are locks. He's supposed to be one of them. He's supposed to be a dude, infield, outfield potential, and he's supposed to be able to hit Vandy Boys. Love that. Simeon Woods Richardson. And the part that was interesting there, I saw a couple of people tweet out, if you're the Blue Jays, you could have just re-signed Marcus Stroman at one point. And then you could have kept Austin Martin and had him be part of your future. But they're in this position. They go get Barrios, who we've talked about a lot in this show, your dude, Trev. And I think everyone's hoping that they unlock a little bit more in him because he can be a star,
Starting point is 00:07:20 of stars, man. He's a fun dude. I think he's going to thrive in a race, too. I mean, I know the twins have been doing good things over the last couple years, but he's going to need to step up big time if the Jays want to get back into it in the AL East or in the wild card for that matter. And I think he kind of wants that or will thrive in a situation where maybe I don't think he has to be like the guy, but he's a big part of them reaching the playoffs this year. Yeah. The only bad thing about them trading for burrios is all the teams that Blue Jays are chasing, absolutely crush Jose Brrios.
Starting point is 00:08:03 He's awful against the Rays, Red Sox, and Yankees throughout his whole career as an MLB pitcher. He started four games against the race, has a 7-1-4 ERA. He started three games, but plus postseason games against the Yankees. He's got a 5-7-9 ERA and the Red Sox, six games, and a 493 ERA. So you hope maybe that changes when he sees him more often and not more of the same. But I tell you this, no Red Sox Yankees or Ray's fan is seeing, oh, the Blue Jays got Barrios for next year and flinching. Because he's been nothing but easy for all three of those teams.
Starting point is 00:08:50 I mean, yeah, there's no dispute in the stats. It hasn't been good. You're hoping that the Blue Jays, look, has any Twins pitcher been good against those three teams? No. So the twins obviously, you know, they need to figure some things out there. Hopefully the Blue Jays can figure it out. And we were doing it live earlier on our normal recap episode, but Pete Walker, the Blue Jays pitching coach. He gets a lot of love from Blue Jays fans. He's done some good things, whether it's Robbie Ray or some of those bullpen guys, Taiwan Walker on the pit stop there last year. So, hey, if they can find a little more embryos in the next year and a half, that would be special.
Starting point is 00:09:30 But man, we're starting to see a couple trades where we're not a prospect hugging pod. But there's a couple trades out there now at this deadline that a couple teams are putting their necks out there. There's some big-time prospects are starting to fly, whether when we get to Pete Crow Armstrong or, I mean, the Scherzer trade. Oh, my God. Like if the Dodgers, the Dodgers don't win one, those guys should be doing a lot for the Nats for a few years. So excited for that. The Braves made some moves. Those happened while we were doing our episode earlier today.
Starting point is 00:10:02 They get Duval and they get Rosario. We kind of did talk about those a good amount on that episode, so I don't know if we wanted to kind of just skip them here. I mean, no risk, man. Yeah. Yeah, they didn't give up anything. What did they give up for Duval? San Deval was for Eddie Rosario, which...
Starting point is 00:10:21 So that's literally nothing. No risk at all. Duval, it was Alex Jackson. It was a AAA 26-year-old catcher, I think. I think you still 25, but yeah. At some point it'll be 26, we hope. And I believe they're both full rentals. And, I mean, they have the guys they're banking on back next year.
Starting point is 00:10:39 So kind of just shake hands. Just a lot of stopgap for that. All right. Well, then what's the big one that we got to talk about? Kimberle. Well, Byers. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Kimbril Baez and then Gibby and Goams all happened in like the same 10-minute span. Maybe Kimbril was before. But Kimber going to the White Sox, that's a big one. Kimbril's been really good. The White Sox have a good pen. And now they add Craig Kimbril to it. And they did trade- Incredible pen.
Starting point is 00:11:14 They did trade Magical, Magical, my guy. This is the first one I clicked. There's an ESPN article that gave grades. So that's always exciting. And they gave both teams an A. So that's hilarious. Yeah, man. I love this for the White Sox.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I said it in my bodega run. I love every team's going to have weaknesses. When you have a strength and you hammer that strength, the White Sox pitching, holy crap, man. We've talked about their starting rotation all year, and we've talked about some of their young guys in the bullpen if they click. Liam Hendricks and Craig Kimbril, how's your last three innings of the game?
Starting point is 00:11:55 And that's after you just dealt with Lance Lynn or Gialito. or Kikel. And that's not even mentioning like crochet. And who's the other young guy? The Kopeck who's been gross this year. He's been crazy good. We've got dudes, man. I love it for them.
Starting point is 00:12:12 And dude, I'm obviously high on magical because he's a short king and scouts love his contact tool. We'll see how much pop he gets. This article is like, he should be a two war guy minimum every year. And like, okay, well, baseball doesn't work that way. So we'll see. If you're the Cubs, man, your next five years is changing right in front of your eyes. Is there any ego check?
Starting point is 00:12:35 Kimberl is going probably going to be a Hall of Famer. He's one of the top five closers in the history of baseball. Liam Hendricks is newer to the scene. Kimbra has only given up two earned runs this season. He's pitched in 39 games. 37 of them have been clean. What happens there in the back? Like, is it Liam's job?
Starting point is 00:12:56 They said they're going to give. both of them save opportunities. Okay. Makes a match. Okay. I do think Liam is on. He doesn't care. Liam's paid and he's on the record and he's an Aussie.
Starting point is 00:13:08 That he's like, you tell me when to come in and I'm going to do me. So I think, you know, as the guy, if you need Liam Hendrix to come in the top of the sixth to Mo Guys down for 2.1, I think Liam's got that in the bag. You know, I'd be interested to see with Craig. I hope he falls in line Because if he does like I'm the closer And that's gonna kind of fall on deaf ears I think a little bit
Starting point is 00:13:33 But something to watch Hello Uh-oh Astros trade Miles Straw to Cleveland For Phil Maiton Oh my God Wow buzzer beater Yeah
Starting point is 00:13:46 I'm excited that they got that one done Please go back to Kimbril stuff Well the I don't know man The Astros are just What is the money about Phil Maton I'm guessing he's probably a good reliever I think he's having a nice year in the bull. They don't need any more of those.
Starting point is 00:14:01 They just got him yesterday, too. Phil Mayton. Yeah, he had some struggles early on, but he's been good down the stretch. But, I mean, he strikes dudes out. Yeah, he's not even, he's not, he wasn't a high leverage guy for Cleveland this year. He's pitching mostly, you know,
Starting point is 00:14:15 first guy out of the Penn situation. So, oh, wow. Hit the passing button. Passing. Passing. Andrew Heaney to the Angels? Or to the Yankees, excuse me. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:14:28 From the Angels. I'm going to be in a tight spot with that. What? That's their pitcher. I see it. Oh, God. Good friend of mine, be careful. Innings.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I have a lot of mad tweets out there about Andrew Haney. The Yankees got Andrew Haney? Yep. I think it's Heney, but. Heaney. Heaney, Hiney. Um, if that's the last move, that's for what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Ken Rosenthal. I don't see the return. You guys know better than me. I mean, it's a true rental. So he had to be cheap, cheap, cheap, I'm guessing. He was owed 6.7 for this year. Yankees are 6.7. Angels got to be picking up all of his contract.
Starting point is 00:15:20 And they're giving them, like, another prospect that has a Rule 5 prospect. That's got to be what that is. I don't know. What the fuck is that? He's going to eat some meanings. I've had a running joke going with foolish baseball because he believes in Andrew Haney. And he's like, oh, Andrew Haney, good conversation is a fun one. And I've chimed in a couple times that it's a short one for me.
Starting point is 00:15:48 But hey, I think pinstripes, you know, that changes a man. Stop. Baseball reference pronunciation is Heney. Heaney. Thank you. Coming from a friend also. We'll get Jimmy on a fiendie. Thini.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Hey, heaney. Okay, that's like, you get the gallo one and the balloons blowing up. You get the Rizzo one and the blooms got a little more air. And then you get Hini and you're like, oh, we're starting to unwind. It's like when the balloon like is like starting to blow away. But it's still like some. It's like, okay, well, I hope there's one more move because they're shopping void.
Starting point is 00:16:28 They saved room. They saved $4 million to stay under the tax that Hal's so desperately wants to stay under. And they did their dump move. Heaney can't be the guy that gets him to the 210. The Angels got to be picking up that his payroll and getting a prospect pack. He will fill innings. I mean, I mean, if... MLB innings.
Starting point is 00:16:50 MLB innings. He needs a stud. I just got another text from Gibby. Okay. He says he still hasn't heard from the front office. It's hilarious. What a world. Are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:17:09 He said it seems like it's happening. It's all over the TV. He has not heard from the front office. This was reported half an hour ago. Such an innocent text. Seems like it's happening. I'm watching it. Come on.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Come on, Texas. Just have one assistant intern or someone that just sends like calls and says, like, hey. And they just have to, like, text his agent. It's crazy. I know you probably saw the reports. It's true. Like, we'll get back to you with more details soon.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Be in touch. That's the one thing I've learned talking to you, Trev, and interviewing players is MLB teams don't talk to their employees at all. Very rarely. Like, they have no communication. That's so crazy. I'm like, when was that reported? Like, seriously, like half a hour ago, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Like minimum. You know how I like... Like MLB put it on their first. freaking main Twitter page. You know how I like to look at game logs for pitchers and see how much the ERA tells a story, doesn't tell a story, and see, like, well, how many good games do they have versus, like, you know, bad? Haney's isn't as fun as others.
Starting point is 00:18:17 He's had more bad. Hot and cold. It's more awesome. I mean, we're on the same topic, but deal is final. Philly's son, Spencer Howard, Kevin Gowdy. and Josh Gessner to Texas for Gibson Kennedy and pitching prospect Hans Krauss. Dude, I like this move for the Phillies.
Starting point is 00:18:37 I mean, for everything that was out there and Trev, you said it last episode, like, they should be in win now mode. They got an easy rest of the schedule. They got a lot of talent. Gibby's been good. Gibby's been really good. And so has Kennedy.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Yeah. They've both been, and I don't know what Kennedy's got to be a rental, right? But Gibby, you get him for next year as well. And, man, cheap. Gibby's making $7 million bucks next year. So we talk about playoff formulas, teams you want to run into.
Starting point is 00:19:05 These Phillies were a little scary in a five-game set with Wheeler and Nola. Wheeler, Nola, Gibson. Now they're Penn, and hey, the White Sox pen puts this under the table, but Kennedy, John's Ranger Suarez, Alvarado, Archie Bradley,
Starting point is 00:19:23 Narris. Like, you can make that work. Whoever's hot, you can get two guys there. And look at what the Nats did. Like the Phillies kind of have the Nats formula right now. Yeah. They just got to start winning ball games. Except, yeah, as I say, the Nats went on a ridiculous run that year to do it.
Starting point is 00:19:43 Get hot. And they had Brian Dozier, so whatever. I have an opinion that I know to be true. I don't even think Cashman negotiated the Hini trade. I think like the third down on his list. was like, hey, the angels said they'll give us Heaney and pay for it if we give them, and Cass just said, sure, do it. Looks like.
Starting point is 00:20:08 He's busy doing bigger things. Jansen Junk, pitcher for the Yankees having a nice, nice minor league season this year. And Piguero, who's, I'll be honest, he's not in my book. Not in my book, so. Jansen Junk was a great name. It's a great name for the Yankees. So that is capitalizing another breakout prospect season. We have eight freaking minutes.
Starting point is 00:20:30 minutes and Chris Bryant and Trevor Story are still just there. Hey, the Rockies. Did you hear the latest update in the Rockies? They said because of all the backlash from Aeronado, they're being much more selective with Story. If you don't trade story, you're going to get more backlash, you dumb idiots. They got to move them. Imagine if they don't trade stories. Someone said that. There's no way someone fucking said that, Jimmy. Are you kidding me? Dude, that was a, I've partially joked on here. That was, that was a real tweet from someone. that my retirement job, it's either between the Rockies or the Diamondbacks front office, have a mountain home or live in Sedona and just commute in like every other week. I'm starting to believe I could actually partially run the Rockies. If Trevor's story isn't traded. Daniel Bard. The formula's not working.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Hey, this was the quote, and it's Mark Feincent, who I like Mark. I don't have him in like a bad. reporter bucket. I have him a good reporter bucket. He said, I'm hearing Rockies are holding firm to their asking price. Chris Brian, to the Giants. The Giants. Whoa. I like that. What on the bow? I like that. Look at him, Gabe. Love it. The San Francisco Capler is making freaking move. So hot. So anyway, the tweet is that given the heat they took for the return on Aronado, trading story for peanuts would be a bad look. Not trading him would be the worst look. Uh, anyway, That's awesome for the Giants.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Giants got him. And you can tell Passon was trying to get it out first because he went Bryant to SF, comma, sources tells, comma, ESPN. It's a shit tweet, but he had to get it out there first. He's race mode, man. You would think he'd have that like 30 or 20 teams in the draft. Boom. You'd think he'd have two assistants with two different phones logged into his account.
Starting point is 00:22:30 And then he's working the text messages and phones. And then he just says this one, that one. that one in points. Come on. Oh, my gosh. San Francisco is a tough quick spell city. So, SF. SF. Oh, you got to go SF there. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, man. You're trying to get a tweet out quick.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Dude, that's pretty cool for the Giants. What you doing, baby? Padre's got to be punching air right now. Why, they got Hudson. They got Hudson. They got Frasier. They got Hudson. They thought they had Scherzer. Yeah. They did get Frazier, huge addition.
Starting point is 00:23:01 But, yeah, the Scherzer news. And then you have the teams. in front of you just making fucking moves, though. Hey, where's, where's Bryant going to play for them? Is Longo still hurt? Is he going to slide in at third base right now? I saw Giants fans in our chat earlier saying they need him for left field. They've had, they've had Wilmer there right now because I think Long goes out.
Starting point is 00:23:21 I have no idea Longo's timetable is your best friend, Trev. Yeah, he's on his way back, but I think he is going to slot into left field. But he could go to third base. Like, he's versatile, so it's great. I mean, Flores, Wilmer's been good. Giants are going to giant, man. Put him in a spot and let him hit.
Starting point is 00:23:41 Like, they're, they got some good juju going right now. Look, and now pass and corrected it. He goes, let's try this in English without a grammatical error. So he's, he, you know. He got to win the race. He's watching this right now. He won the race. I'm going to boy, Jeffie.
Starting point is 00:23:55 Jesse. I'm going to start calling him Jeffie, I think. I don't think I dropped one of those and I don't think he loved it. but whatever he's a friend he's a friend i'm happy for for all passing man i love the hunger games it's so fun to watch these guys go out of it what have we missed uh bias have we really talked about that bias to the met's should do that that's a big one yeah Puerto Rico pride up the middle that's really cool and what so what happens McNeil's been playing second base so i mean McNeil can bounce around we said before the season he can play a little left field um what do they
Starting point is 00:24:30 And I mean, Lindor's out for a little bit, so you've got a huge, like, let that oblique heal. Trevor Plufe, you've talked about obliques a lot on this show. Let that oblique heal. He doesn't have to rush back now. You got Javier, so I like that part of it. And man, if these, if these Mets are fully healthy going in the playoffs, watch out for them. Let's see, right now, I love bias. He can play some less feel.
Starting point is 00:24:55 The Mets is awesome. The energy that he brings, mixed with the energy, they already have. have on that team. I mean, they are going with just a full, like, high T-level badass MFers on that team. And I love it, man. It's, I don't want to, I don't mean to be to put the Yankees down and bring them up, but it's like the opposite of the Yankees. It's like, Yankees very stoic and traditional. And the Mets come and they're like, no, we're bringing back the black freaking jerseys. We just went, got Hobby Baez. I mean, it's, that's fun, man. And they give up Pete Crow Armstrong, who is their one pick, and like, he's a dude, Harvard Westlake guy, high school.
Starting point is 00:25:36 He's supposed to have kind of all the tools. Again, you're projecting a high school kid, but he's a, like, they paid. Like, they gave up a chip for a rental, so that's going to be another interesting one to look in four years and see where PCA is and see, you know, what do the Mets do this year? I've had some of my good buddies have their hands on PCA. I like that you already gave him a nickname. Love that. I call him Pete.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Okay. And they are very convinced. Like, it's not just that he's good. It's like that he really wants to be good. And it's like, works his ass off. So. Love that. Love that.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Big fan of that guy. The Rockies or the twins are supposed to. What? Jake Mariznick to the Padres. No comment. Yeah. Important. Not, thank you for telling us, but no comment on the trip.
Starting point is 00:26:30 No, no, no. Continue whatever you're sent in. Two minutes. Yeah, but some come in like 10 minutes after the fact because there's a pay. Yeah, there's a paper. Sure, sure, but we would hear about it, right? No, not sometimes. Sometimes you don't hear about it.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Drinky was after, right? Yeah, but by like 420, it's done. Same. Hold on. I need to say one thing, Jim. Our guy, Dan Allen Wark just said, I officially really like the Hini trade. Yeah. Well, dude, that's obvious.
Starting point is 00:26:58 He's all the matter. himself in. I mean, the peripherals for Haney are better than the results, but that's not a... And Jack Curry reported that the angels are paying the salary. So what are the Yankees saving for? They got to get something done. Supposedly the twins were shopping Bucks in and shopping Donaldson. Is anything happening there? I ask him. Blue Jays got Joaquin Soria.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Nice. Jay's adding bullpen. Brewer's got John Curtis from the Miami. Marlins. John Curtis. Obviously we know him because a strong settler name. You till the farm every morning,
Starting point is 00:27:38 you can marry my daughter. Yeah. Hey, settlers, put dead fish in the soil. That's what you do. Okay, and that's farming with Trev. If the Rockies don't re-sign John Gray and they also don't trade Trevor Story, they should be banished.
Starting point is 00:27:57 They might be. I might have to work for them. If the Rockies don't, if they, okay, they don't trade John Gray, they might try to resign him because they love what he does in Colorado. Fair. If they don't resign John Gray and they don't trade Trevor Story, I think we need to have government look into like collusion or like something weird. Like you have to like, are they intellectually, like is someone,
Starting point is 00:28:22 are they too dumb to own a sports team? Like, do we have to step in? Can you look into this? Hello, government. Yeah. We have one request. Yeah. We have like a shoe salesman who doesn't have any shoes in a store.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Like something sketchy here. We are more important than the government in the baseball world. That's a good point. Everybody knows that. Hassam. Just Mets are done for the day. No more moves for the Mets. That's so weird that they officially announced that.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Yeah. You know what? Fine, Santu. You know what? They're probably like because they're getting calls from reporters so much. We're like, we're fucking done. Yeah. Stop.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Stop bothering us. Great, great tweet by our talking baseball account. Pencils down. Excellent. That is a good tweet. I did like a tweet this morning saying anyone that tweets pencils down at 4 o'clock should have their account deleted. I love that tweet.
Starting point is 00:29:16 I'm sorry, maybe I'm just too old. Is that like not a cool thing to say? Sometimes everyone does it every day. Sometimes the simple ones have to happen. It's got to happen. Make it tradition. You know what's funny is nobody uses. Freddy guys.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Freddie Galvis to the Phillies. Freddie Galvis gets $250K. Hey, that's nice. That's fucking awesome. Where's he going to play, though? Because, I mean, that Philly's in field. Nothing wrong on making a strength stronger, Jake. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:29:42 That's true. A wise man once at that PPD. What just happened? And no Byron Bucks and trade. No Bucket. I'm fine with that. That's fine. They got him another year.
Starting point is 00:29:51 They still have time with him. But Trevor Story, they don't. And they're the worst team in baseball. If there's no story. The trade deadline has arrived. Trevor Story will remain with the Rockies per source. They will offer him the qualifying offer and collect compensatory draft picks if he signs elsewhere.
Starting point is 00:30:06 So they must have thought the draft picks were more valuable than what they were going to get in return. Rockies, you suck. A mid-sandwich pick? Like how you said that. I just, you know. It's crazy. I'm happy so happy for Freddie dude
Starting point is 00:30:34 what a what a carrot that he purposely put in front of him like play good enough to get traded at the deadline just good enough for that and you get a quarter of a million dollars and he stays healthy and he plays good enough to be traded at the deadline good job by him and his agent
Starting point is 00:30:51 and then forgetting that that's a quarter of a million dollars Rocky's didn't make an odd trade I told you that I got that as well So that was really nice I think they traded Givens a couple days ago But what are we doing? What are we doing?
Starting point is 00:31:10 Another thing about Chris Bryant to the Giants I feel like his beautiful blue eyes Are gonna pop with the orange Nice contrast See how that goes Him and Gabe just being hot That could be tough for Bryant Has he ever had a manager who's hotter than him
Starting point is 00:31:26 No. Madden? No. Nah, see. Well, not jazz bar hotter than I don't know. Traditionally hot. I also have Madden with a super sloppy body. I don't know that.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Ooh, interesting. I bet he's okay. Joe Madden's body? I bet it's like strong but sloppy. You can't judge him on his body. Well, Gabe Capler's got a freaking body like the statue. There's got to be like 30 years difference between them. So I bet Joe Madden's got a decent body, especially for his age.
Starting point is 00:32:01 He's active. Is he? He's like, he? He's like, he rides around in his van. 13 year difference, 13 year difference. Gabe looks a lot better. Gabe Cabler's going to look the same in 13 years because all he eats is bacon and red meat. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:32:20 Hanks get, Haney. That shit was wild. Why did the Yankees save so much money and then not go? Do we think we're going to? a buzzer-beater. We'll stay live in case we get one. Did we not talk about anything? What do we got?
Starting point is 00:32:35 What have we missed? We did. Twins did not trade Buckson, Paneda, or Donaldson. So that means the Gallo for the Yankees. Gallo said he's going to play left field, which means Greg Allen or Gardner's going to play center, which means Stanston. the DH, which means there's
Starting point is 00:33:03 no room for Voight. And he's healthy now. Now, if Gallo was going to play center and Stanton was going to start dabbling and left, then Voight can start being DH and then we can get rotation. But if Stanton is truly DH, then then
Starting point is 00:33:21 Yankees done dealing. No more moves for them as well. Okay. Well, can't everyone? Twins must be thinking they can come back next year. compete. I know they sent away Burrios, but they could have done a lot more. Luf course, too.
Starting point is 00:33:42 That Kepler, staying. And they got a haul. Buxton staying. And the thing about it is, though, is they tried to make a deal of Buckson and didn't happen. They weren't even close. I wonder if that's going to change over the off season. I don't know, man. I happen. RIP, Jimmy. Oh, God. The return for Chris Bryant is
Starting point is 00:34:01 Joey Bart and Lamont Wade. Whoa. What? So Joey Bart, big catching prospect slash good catcher in the big leagues? Big catching prospect. And then also Lamont came from the twins, castaway.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Wow. And he's been crushing it over there. He does just say Bart. I'm going out on a limb and assuming it's the Bart I know. Yeah. Holy smokes, that would be... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Joey Bar was the... number two pick in the draft 28 beans Trevor's story should beat up people if I was him I just wouldn't play the rest of the year just like what am I doing here? Like you know I know they don't owe him it I wouldn't actually wouldn't do that just just me being stupid right now but like man he thinks he might go to a contender and get some fun finish off his season and they're like no
Starting point is 00:34:57 we're just going to offer you less than your worth and you're going to say no and we're going to get a middling draft picked If I had a catcher that was like a prospect that was good at pitchframing, I will be selling every single one of them right now for when that freaking automated strike zone comes. They don't mean anything anymore. Hey, probably the last thing. The bark can hit.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Probably the last thing they want to hear today. Cubs are rebuilding and they got a pretty big jump today, man. I mean, Pete Crow Armstrong, Joey Bart, Madrigal. Those are like, if you're playing a video game against a computer, you draft those guys because you know in two years they're going to be really awesome. Cardinals get John Lester. Oh. And J. Hap earlier.
Starting point is 00:35:55 Lester and half to the cards. That's fantastic. What's happening there? What does that mean? They just love old lefties. That's awesome. That's the St. Louis Cardinals. What?
Starting point is 00:36:06 What? Why did they trade for hap? Innings. Do you really need innings for 10 starts? Like the Cardinals, what did they give up? I guess nothing? Yeah. But like, why? Why do you need...
Starting point is 00:36:23 He's going to make what? Ten starts? Sell some tickets with Jayhap in the same? And Jayhap's last 10 starts... Yeah, for sure. And Jayhap's last 10 starts, he pitched 52 innings to an 813 ERA. What do you need that, Cardinals? Why would you give up anything for that?
Starting point is 00:36:43 Coming around. There's a Dodgers graphic out right now. Showing all of their good players. It's an embarrassment of riches. You can't even look at it. Betts, Jansen, Bellinger, Turner, Turner, two just amazing turners. Kershaw, Bueller, Muncie, Chris Taylor, All-Star, Meckschers.
Starting point is 00:37:09 Not to mention Eureas, Gonsolin, I have a question. Sure. The Yankees saved room, right? Do we know what's the hainy money if it's... I know they at least... I know they're at least covering some of it. Curry said that the Yankees have $4 million left.
Starting point is 00:37:34 How much does O'Dore cost if they cut him? Or they... Hey. Honestly. No, honestly, because if they cut O'Dore at any point, they owe him some money. But if O'Dore finishes the season, on the 40 man he's completely free so maybe they alleviated the burden of if they need to part ways
Starting point is 00:37:54 they're a little cheap around the edges who's the biggest loser of this deadline the braves cardinals Rockies Cardinals Rockies well i mean not i'm talking about teams that are like actually trying like the brays were who had the worst kind of trying to do something i mean they got they didn't do anything what he got rosario and duval and they got jock i mean they got three MLB outfielders this week. The Braves? For nothing. Jacques Rosario Duvall.
Starting point is 00:38:28 The Braves are the losers? I've been... I'm just saying, like, they could have made a splash and they just didn't. Maybe I don't blame them because your best player is out for the year. Yeah, I don't think they were in position to make a huge splash.
Starting point is 00:38:44 I'm just caught up in Braves' Twitter, I think. Yeah. They're more of the losers of the season than the time. The Red Sox, I mean, the Red Sox aren't losers, but you know that you expected them to make a big move and just it never happened. Schwarbo, great. I like him. He's hurt.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Expected unarmed. Didn't really improve. Part of me respects it from the Red Sox. They've been awesome this year. They do get Schwerber, who was nasty, and they're expecting saleback. They saved Tanner Halk this year. So like the Red Sox. The Red Sox who have been twisting the knife on the Yankees all year.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Jim. They can. They can say, you got Gallo. You got Rizzo? Like, if the Red Sox still beat up on the Yankees, that's going to be one of the bigger twists of the knife they've done. They may, but, and sure, they're in first place. But, but, uh, did they not get a starter?
Starting point is 00:39:37 The Red Sox just got Schwarber. Sale, I think, is who they're counting on. The raise also, I think, had a really bad trade deadline, right? I mean, they traded away assets. Maybe we're just not. We're just dumb, too dumb for it, maybe? It's a possibility, guys. Can't say that's not a possibility?
Starting point is 00:39:57 Imagine the Rays and the Rockies trying to have a phone call? Just like, whoa. Not even about trades, just in general. What are you guys talking about? Eric Neander would just, he could probably get Trevor Story for nothing if he actually called the Rockies. You'd get Story and whoever their top prospect is. Hybrid cars? Oh, we were talking about hybrid animals.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Dude, what are the rays doing? So what's the raise net result? They got rid of Rich Hill, Diego Castillo. They picked up Cruz. They got Nelson Cruz. And the Adomis trade, if you wanted. Sean Armstrong, the Adomis trade. Chagua.
Starting point is 00:40:37 Chagua. Oh, Shags. I like you. I like hearing you say that. Shags. I've had some fun with Shags in my time in the MLB. The MLB. The MLB.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Yeah, man The Major League Baseball I don't know what the Rays did Lane Thomas going to They traded Rich Hill for nothing Is that my friend Lane? Why would you try? What are the Rays doing?
Starting point is 00:41:14 The Rays are raising But try Try to explain why they would trade Rich Hill for nothing I don't know They got in return They got Tommy Hunter Who's on the IL
Starting point is 00:41:25 and not going to play this season. Was Rich Hill any sticky stuff? I saw a tweet about that. I don't know. They did get a prospect, but not a highly ranked one. I mean, Diego Castillo's race stuff, like I think he's about to get paid,
Starting point is 00:41:46 so they move on that. You can understand it. And they got MLB players back. Why did they give Rich Hill to the Mets for nothing in return. Diego Castillo, they got MLB players back that they probably are going to turn into good. Even if like a raise fan is like,
Starting point is 00:42:04 well, Richel wasn't part of our success, like we weren't going to lean on him. Like, okay, but you could just use them instead of getting rid of them for nothing. Maybe they think he's not going to have it the rest of the year, so that opens up another opportunity for a raise pitcher. Ansel Robles to the Red Sox.
Starting point is 00:42:23 Oh, okay, there you go. an arm. Okay. You got an arm. It's a bullpen guy. So we were talking about the Cubs. Are they going to keep any of them? They didn't keep any of them.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Smart. They shipped them all out. At West Coast. With a chance to resign Rizzo possibly after the season. Hanser Robles having a tough go of it. Change of scenery. Of late. 11 ERA in his last 10 games or whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:58 Fuck, man. are weird. Wish Minnesota got a little more weird with it. Soft. Awesome. One of their... Update to the Chris Bryant thing. The previous thing might not
Starting point is 00:43:19 found sense saying they received Giants number nine and number 30 prospects. And it seems like that's not in addition to that's instead of. That's what it is. Okay. That seems to make more sense. So no, Bart?
Starting point is 00:43:32 So sorry, Cubs. Did they get Bart or is that not happening? One last. Unclear, it seems like no. I don't think so. Nightingale and Baggerly is saying Bart not part of the Brian deal. Deadline. Canario and Killian.
Starting point is 00:43:52 So an outfielder and Killian. Makes a little more sense if we're being honest. Because it's a rental. Yeah. That's a huge win for the Giants. Yeah, and that felt wrong. I mean, Bart's a. Felt crazy.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Big prospect. Lamont Wade's been a huge. You get the. nine and the 30th prospect for Chris Bryant. And nobody else did that? And that nuts? All right. Let's go alphabetically through the teams real quick.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Caesar thumb. Baltimore, no grade. No, I'm happy for him. Good. You guys survived. They gave Freddie some money. They didn't have to. They could have been cheap like the Rockies and just like said,
Starting point is 00:44:41 fuck you, Freddie. We're not giving you a quarter of a million dollars. Boston. Schwerber and Robles. They don't really pay too much. Boston, Chorber, and Robles? Oh, we're not doing that? Yeah, but I'm just going to stay like this.
Starting point is 00:44:56 I'm not going to lean either way. I think Boston wanted a little more. I agree. I would have liked them to get a starting pitcher if I was a Boston fan. Uh-oh. Hit the passing button BBD. Jesus. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Alien of Braves get Jorge Salare. He's been awful. Dude, I think Ashwin had that. I think this week he got hot, though. He had a bunch of Homer. You think Ashland had that on the mansplain? Yeah, I was about to say. I think she had that.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Good for Ashland. Love her. She might have just one. Love her. Ashland, are you watching this right now? She might have the best strategy. People were giving her a lot of shit, too. Better range.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Oh. Oh, do we think we get one more? Do we think we get another trade? It's not even 420 yet. We said that's the time. Give me another. All right, you want to keep doing season? Chicago White Sox.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Yeah, up. They're so good. They get Kimball. Big thumbs up for the White Sox. They didn't have many holes to fill. And they got Tepara, too. Yeah, DePara, too. So, no, yeah, big thumbs up for the White Sox.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Pretty gross. Cleveland, just thumbs down. What? You guys are booger-eaters? What, though? I'll enjoy. Let me see that thumb, Trev. Oh, I mean, I just gave, like, worse than a thumb.
Starting point is 00:46:12 You can do whatever. Middle finger. Use your tongue a little bit. Did Detroit do nothing? Confirmed she did have Saler. Thank you, Rob. But she had him going to Oakland. That was her one.
Starting point is 00:46:23 That was her one non-team. That was her one not braised. Because she already had another, like that position. Yeah. That's funny. Yeah, D.H. People are saying you guys need to light up some cushy dreams on 420, which is in two minutes. People are saying that.
Starting point is 00:46:37 In the alley only, though, because you can't. Fuck the alley. Detroit did nothing, right? Good for them. Yeah, we like their energy. Keep it there. Scope or Grossman feels like some. could have happened there. Houston.
Starting point is 00:46:51 They just, what, gobbled up a bunch of relievers, and that's kind of it? Same of the White Sox, right? Like, you needed. I'm diagonal. No. What else could they have done? A center fielder. Can no.
Starting point is 00:47:02 Miles straw was their center fielder. They kind of don't have one. They'll be all right. They'd be right. Put Tucker out there. Can he play out there? I mean, their outfield right now is listed as, Brantley playing left field.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Tucker playing right field and it had Miles Strawn Center. So I mean they've got Chas McCormick if you're into that kind of thing. Chas. I don't know. Like I thought they were going to be a big player in the center field market,
Starting point is 00:47:38 Starling Marte. That would have been a whoa. They get a bunch of relievers. I follow one Astros person on Twitter. And he's saying, yes, Chase McCormick will be a big part of that outfield. Okay. Or Chaz with an S?
Starting point is 00:47:57 Chas with an S, I think. Which, again, that's why my thumb was pointing north but shaken. You got to be a Z. What else do you have a name like Chaz if you don't get the cool letter? Seems like they called up a prospect that's going to fill in in center. Names Jake. Feels weird for like the AL favorites to do that. I don't believe in that, but.
Starting point is 00:48:23 He'll probably be a stuck. I don't know if maybe he was a top to ask him. Your Don doesn't, is he going to play a lot in the outfield? For Matton, Maton? Is that who they did this for? Yeah. So, I mean, they did a reliever grab. They got Graveman, Yemi Garcia, Montero, and Maton. So they got four arms.
Starting point is 00:48:42 Dude, Dusty's going to have so many plans now. A lot of plans. Your Don has played 17 games. And Maton they have for two more years. Like, you know, Gravelyn was just a rental. Yimmy is just a rental. Montero this year and next year. But Matar hasn't been good this year, I don't think.
Starting point is 00:48:59 And Matan is three years, so. That's the game they played. I'll give them, like, I'm with you, Jake, because I didn't realize they... I didn't realize they don't have a center field option. They're going to rely on a rookie and two rookies? I'm okay with that. They're still so good.
Starting point is 00:49:15 They didn't get any... You know what? They can catch balls. They didn't get any worse. It's a thumbs up. Kansas City Royals. my Twitter, I got people on my Twitter yelling at me about the Brewers saying I lied. There was no big move to be had. All I said was they were in on big names. Royals only did Salare, right?
Starting point is 00:49:37 They tried. Or no, they traded, what's his name to the Dodgers yesterday, the pitcher? Mike Minor. Danny Duffy. Duffy. Duffy. D.M.M. All there. What team did, are we rake here now? Kansas City Royals. Well, they move Solair. What do they get back? Soler and Duffy. They got right-hander Casey Kallich. Double K. Guys. Yeah, but they have a type. Dude. I'm here. Do you know what, though? Them moving Soler, who is having a bad season. Yeah. Right? And he's a rental. So you're losing him next year no matter what. It's having a bad season. He's a rental. Someone called about him. And guess what they got? An actual someone that might help them in the future.
Starting point is 00:50:26 A young human. Because it's very similar to the Rosario move. Passing button. Passing. Rays acquired Jordan Leplow and DJ Johnson from Indians for Bettenfield. Jordan Leplow, former Fresno State. No. teammate of Aaron Judge.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Did mention that part earlier. Town Cryer. I mean, they got Loplo? That's what Kenny Rosenthal is saying. Four and who else And DJ Johnson Not in my book Yeah but I mean
Starting point is 00:51:01 But what did they trade Because Laplow I don't know how Leplow They get him and DJ Johnson For Battenfield Hayden Battenfield I mean Loplo's not like
Starting point is 00:51:14 He's an MLB guy He's got The Ray's having for three more years So like He had one good season Everything else is pretty bleh But now I want to know the rays know about some splits.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Oh, they know something. There's splits, and I think he's come up in moments before. He's good against Ritey's this year. He's got an 863. See, that's what the Rays do. They don't need a full player. Do you have one aspect of your game that's good? Because Lutbleau has an 863 OPS against Rides this year.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Another one's out right now. Tony Watson, traded to the Giants. Okay, 423. We're still alive. That. And that's funny. Looplo career matches lefties. So maybe they'll combine him and it'll be a superstar. I'm saying they got him for three more years. That's a return to the Giants, right?
Starting point is 00:52:10 He was already there. Seems like the Indians. Three years, wow. That seems like, don't do that Indians because the Ray, you weren't shopping Looplo. Yeah. And the rays just came calling out of the blue and said, hey, we like this guy.
Starting point is 00:52:23 That's exactly a sign of you're going to get God. Yeah Like they answer the phone They're like, who you calling about? He's got three years of control left Well, hold up What do they know that we don't? Fuzzy is upset about it
Starting point is 00:52:36 Hmm It seems weird It seems like you don't have to do that You don't have to give the raise that dude If like... He wasn't going to leave at the end of the year Yeah, just call him at the off season And be like, all right, so you called about Luplo, why?
Starting point is 00:52:49 Shit. Don't trade him. Sign him. Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim They're paying the Yankees to take on Haney, so they got something, I guess. They got junk, Jansen junk. Breakout prospect. Don't care, yeah, right in the middle.
Starting point is 00:53:07 They're continuing their minor league pitching overhaul. Minnesota Twins. I'm sideways, but slightly north. They did pretty good on the returns at least. In a couple years, we could be saying, like, Austin Martin is a all-star type. Treb, I know people shouldn't say this, so I'm going to knock on a lot of wood. But if, like, Buxston has another setback or something, they're going to regret not cashing in a lot on him. Because I think they could have, even though he's injured right now and injury prone, I think his value is crazy high.
Starting point is 00:53:41 If, like, you know, his next season is delayed or an injury. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe it wasn't. Maybe it wasn't, you know. I'm so hungry, guys. I'm going to eat. I have a lunchable here that I'm going to eat. In a way.
Starting point is 00:53:54 Jake's going to continue going down the teams. New York. Yankees. Yeah, I mean, it's a thumbs up, but we'll, it's a, the Gallo moves a thumbs up, because they have them for next year as well. The Rizzo move. The Rizzo move is a neutral. I mean, they didn't give up any prospects and everyone's getting paid for, right?
Starting point is 00:54:15 Like, that's a pretty big deadline for the Yanks. Oakland Athletics. They kind of did good, right? They got Starling Marte, Chafin. Gomes. Gomes. and Harrison. Yeah, no, that's a lot.
Starting point is 00:54:32 I like that. Yeah. And again, I guess I'm not really voting on like, like some people are like, well, we'll see. It's like, no, but the fact they were active. Yeah. They attempted to fill a lot of holes. Gohams is having a good year.
Starting point is 00:54:46 He's coming up from injury right now. And who's been catching for the A's? Murphy? Murphy has he heard it all? Yeah, Murphy. Murph dog. Earthdog and Jan Gooms. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Seattle Mariners. No, I'm going to say thumbs up. I'm going to say thumbs up. They may have poured rain on their clubhouse right now, but you have Toro for a couple years, and then you got Anderson, a nice starting pitcher. He's a rental, but then who's the other guy that they... Diego Castillo.
Starting point is 00:55:28 Diego Castillo, they have Diego Castillo for three years. So, Diego Castillo, closer, grave been closer, Graven rental, Castillo, you have them for the next three years. It hurts right now because they're on such a good run, and it poured a lot of rain on their fun parade in the moment. I think at the end of this season, we even look back at it and say, yeah, chances of them actually going deep in the playoffs this year or making the playoffs weren't high,
Starting point is 00:55:53 and they helped out their next couple years while maintaining the core. So I'm giving the Mariners a thumbs up. It just hurt in the moment. If the order of... They got better next year. If the order of operations were different, it would have felt a lot different. Yeah. And if they weren't playing the Astros.
Starting point is 00:56:09 But that 2448 hours where Kendall Graveman and Montero went to Houston, that stings. I mean, their 22 roster got better. Yeah. So I'm giving the Mariners a thumbs up. Fuck. Why didn't another team move on Tyler Anderson? Yeah. Good for Seattle.
Starting point is 00:56:32 That one trade does hurt. Yeah. It's a big bad wolf. Tampa Bay Reyes, do we even? No, we can't. We're not smart enough to be in their realm of brain. Ooh, this is an interesting one. The Texas Rangers.
Starting point is 00:56:50 Still haven't told Gibby. So we don't know. What did they get back for Gibby? So they did Gallo and Gibby. And do they have a piece they can hang their hat on? They got Spencer Howard. I'm glad they sold. I mean, look, they're not going to get rid of all your assets right now.
Starting point is 00:57:09 Like, I guess you got to rebuild it. You got to get the farm system back up. all that good stuff because what you're doing right now at the major level isn't working. Dude, yeah, they needed to go the quantity game over quality. They need a lot of guys. I'm going half thumbs down. I do like the gibby trade if that turns out to be true. You know, Phillies fans were all about Spencer Howard a year ago,
Starting point is 00:57:28 so you're taking a chance on a young starting pitcher. I wanted them to make Gallo their guy. And I would have loved, obviously, I have no idea how those contract talks go. But from what we heard, the prospects that went from the Yankees to Texas, I don't think there's one you can hang your hat on. I would have liked if they made Gallo their guy. Yeah, but I agree with that. But they got so many that say Ezekiel Duran...
Starting point is 00:57:53 If one or two click, yeah. Not even click. If they just are still good in double A, they can now trade those guys for other pieces. Yeah. So you want pieces. You've seen... You just want a lot of pieces.
Starting point is 00:58:07 I'll go in the middle. Or now their other prospects become spendable. Hey, in the last two seasons, they haven't even done this, Jake. They just held on. So at least they're like committing to a rebuild of sorts. I like the Givie trade. I don't love the Gallo trade for them. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:23 Toronto, the last American League team. So what did they do? They got Brad Hand. Did they get Soria? Was that their other reliever they snagged? That was a Red Sox. No, Jay's got Soros. The Red Sox got Robles.
Starting point is 00:58:40 So Hand and Soria and Burrios, right? Oh, man. So they get some pitching, two rental bullpins, Burrios. Awesome. No. Richard Rodriguez to the Braves. Wow. Rich Rod.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Braves at the buzzer with Rich Rod. Okay. Braves still working the phones. Good for them, I guess. I mean, Rich Rod is having a good season. Yeah. It's an arm in the pen. What do you guys think about the Js?
Starting point is 00:59:16 Burrios. two rental bullpen arms. They do trade a pretty serious prospect. I'm going to tilt it. They better be good next year. I'm going to tilt it a little up next year because next year is kind of their year and they'll have burrios.
Starting point is 00:59:38 I know this sounds crazy, but if you're trading for burrios and you have them next year, I would have put Robbie Ray out there to any non-A-L-Ease team and see if someone would have given them something else that helps them next year. Well, dangler. Because Robbie Ray's been like the best pitcher in the last 30 days. in baseball or one of, and they don't have them next year. So the fact that they got Burrios next year, they're not guaranteed to have Ray next year.
Starting point is 01:00:01 They could, I think they could have done what the Mariners did and done some moves that really help them next year since this year doesn't seem like. We're schedule snobs. Big week coming up for Toronto. Three versus Kansas City, four versus Cleveland. Like you almost, six and one's kind of got to be like, like, you almost, six and one's kind of got to be, like your floor if you're Toronto. I ask him.
Starting point is 01:00:29 Red Sox are in agreement on a deal to acquire left-hander Austin Davis from the Pittsburgh Pirates, admittedly not in my book. I know Austin Davis. Big country strong, lefty. If it's the same Austin Davis that I'm thinking of, was with the Phillies while I was there.
Starting point is 01:00:49 Yep, that's him. I want to go back to the Js because I'm thinking more and more about kind of what they did. They brought him Burie. he'll be there this year, next year. Nate Pearson, I'm sure they still believe in him. He'll be there next year. Manoa, their next year.
Starting point is 01:01:11 Austin Martin, as good of a prospect as he is, I mean, they got Boba B'Sha. They don't really need offense. Their offense is legit for years to come. So they got their pitching help. I'm trying to figure it out, Jim. I don't know. I'm trying to see what the direction is.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I'm saying, if they were really, like, if the Blue Jays were like, you know, we're going to put a good run together this year, but next year, they had two more moves. They could have potentially made it to really, really help next year. I understand why they didn't do it. It's a morale killer. It's like a terrible feeling. But also, business-wise, they could have moved two guys that would have, like, they could have really got some stuff to help next year. And they didn't.
Starting point is 01:01:54 But, I mean, they can always do it in free agency. So it's not like a total negative, but. I'm going to stay middle on them. Why are the pirates trading away guys with like years? Why are they trading away Rich Rod at the last second when he's got two years left and he's been good? I'll get it. They could have done a big trade for him later. For Austin Davis, the pirates receive Michael Chavis.
Starting point is 01:02:14 So I hit the biggest homer ever in the... How about that? At their spring training complex. That's a change of scenery candidate big time. That's a bummer. He's going to be allowed to just run? That's a bummer of an announcement to go tell Chavis that. A little bit.
Starting point is 01:02:29 And you know why they traded Richard? Because they have Chavez for four years after this year. So that makes sense now. Not part of that trade. He's got pop. What did Chavis go for? Chavis was for Austin Davis. Austin Davis.
Starting point is 01:02:40 Trebs Austin Davis. So who'd they get for Rich Rod then? What do you mean? These are separate moves. Rich Rod to Atlanta. Atlanta. Okay. Wow.
Starting point is 01:02:49 Too much is happening. Too much red teams. Blue Jay's final note there. It just next year feels kind of like the all-in year. Like, we know they got Springer. They got some other guys. They tried to be the players in free agency this year, and they kind of were with Springer.
Starting point is 01:03:07 But this year. Next year's a big one for them. That's all the AL teams. Boston, Austin Davis, nice. Arizona Diamondbacks, my snakes. They should have made a little more noise. Next. Why didn't they do more?
Starting point is 01:03:25 David Peralta. Eddie for nothing. Eduardo Esk. Bar, yeah. Kind of a... We have to go over every team. We don't have to go over every team. Okay.
Starting point is 01:03:38 Atlanta Braves. Yeah, I'm like the half down guy. Atlanta Braves did a classic. We're trying to appease our fans, but if you look deeper into the surface, we traded for a bunch of guys having terrible seasons. But it allows them to keep their core that they hope is back next year.
Starting point is 01:03:59 So in the end, like you didn't really need to do any of this. That's what I feel like is. It's like, this was all eyewash for the Braves. They could have done nothing, and I think they'd have the same results. The only thing they should have done is go after J-Ram because he has all those extra years. They can't win without Acuna. Like, that's just the bottom line. So I get them kind of doing the moves that they did.
Starting point is 01:04:23 If they traded for somebody with years of control, I would have liked that. Here we go. Not a move, a non-move. Mets and Twins were close on a deal for Kent and Maeda and Josh John. and going to the Mets, but the Mets wanted more salary covered, and the twins wouldn't do that. Interesting. Fair's fair. Interesting.
Starting point is 01:04:45 Slightly higher on the Braves than you guys. We'll see. They got to make something of it. Cubbies. We're kind of happy for them. They emptied out. If you're going to sell, sell. Commitments the best thing you can do.
Starting point is 01:04:58 They emptied it out. Good for them. Reds. What they do? A couple relievers? Wilson Sessa? Sessa. No, I mean
Starting point is 01:05:10 Sessa could be a nice move for you on. I guess nothing. They weren't going to, I mean, they're kind of in the middle area. Rockies, we all know our vote. Dodgers. Thumbs up, right? Yeah, thumbs up for the Dodgers.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Thumbs up. You don't need prospects. And when you have them, you do that with them and you go get yourself some studs. So big thumbs up for the Dodgers. Miami Marlins, I think they're a thumbs up, right? Lazzardo for Marte. I like that move.
Starting point is 01:05:39 Well, so they move. Yumi Garcia. Yeah, I like that. The return for Rich Rod is Bryce Wilson and Ricky DeVito. Okay. Bryce Wilson? He's got some years to him. He shoved in that one playoff game, right?
Starting point is 01:05:56 His 2020 season is nice, 15 innings. Okay. Oh, he's still really young. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. I think he would, isn't he 22 when he shoved in that like CS or DS game? Yeah. Yeah, I'm watching the video Chris Bryant getting the news and crying.
Starting point is 01:06:17 I think that's Anthony. I have posy, a great hitting coach who I know very well. I did a little like awe earlier and that was what because I was watching that video. Because when he starts crying, it's just like, oh. Rizzo is gone. Milwaukee thumbs up. No big trade. They kind of already did their moves.
Starting point is 01:06:37 It would have been cool to get a bat. Do you throw in Adomas? That makes it kind of tricky. But. But the problem with the Brewers is, not the problem. Eddie Escobar. The things that they faced is that they had no rivals in their division. They have their division locked up, right?
Starting point is 01:06:55 And all the players, every other team that was trading for guys were fighting for someone. Like the Padres and Dodgers were upping prices. So all the prices were probably getting upped on the Brewers. And they're like, well, we're not like, if it was the Cardinals and them, in a race, then maybe they're pressured to do more moves because someone in the division and them are fighting over the same type of people. But, like, they have the division. So it's all about finding balance and getting healthy.
Starting point is 01:07:24 And they've made moves throughout the season. So you can't really discredit there. They got Adomas. Tellez is going off. Routi's going off for them right now. So. I will say this. There's a free agent out there who is still working out.
Starting point is 01:07:43 taking some batting practice. You guys might know him. Same as Ryan Brown. Kind of addresses some of the stuff that they need to address. Am I saying that's going to happen? I am not. Saying that's a possibility.
Starting point is 01:08:00 And I'm pushing him to do it. Can you imagine the applause? First it bat back in the batter box? R-B-8? I like that. I also, there's another going to be another spree that I'm hoping on that. I don't know if it's actually real is when these Olympics end.
Starting point is 01:08:23 Does anyone get picked up and signed? Ooh, Todd. Well, D-Rob, Tyler Austin, Frasier. If they have, if they have like really good Olympics, what's to stop a team from just saying, yeah, we'll add you and see what's going on, especially the relievers that are free agents. D-Rob's the big one.
Starting point is 01:08:45 If David Robertson looks like David Robertson and the curveball's snapping and he's getting guys out in the Olympics, like someone's going to take a flyer on him and just put him in the bullpen and see what happens, right? Why not? Phillies, he's already there. I'm tilting the Brewers up.
Starting point is 01:09:02 I mean, Adomas, like, kind of should count. He's been incredible for them. Eddie Escobar. And they got two guys that they're thrown in their bullpen that we don't care about right now. now, John Curtis and Daniel Norris, but the brewer's got a little sauce down there. And one of those guys could click for them. So I'm tilted north.
Starting point is 01:09:23 Scott Casimir. Oh, daddy likes that. All right teams have got Mets. Just Havi? Right? They did it. Just Javi? That's great.
Starting point is 01:09:36 Havi, did they get any pitching? They didn't make any moves in recent weeks, right? I mean, Rich Hill. Rich Hill, that's the move they made earlier. has been discussed. That's a flat line for me. I'm giving them the thumb up. A flat line?
Starting point is 01:09:53 Hobby buyers. You brought in Hobby bias, man. That's a win the NLE East move. It's not a, yeah, I just thought they were going to do something bigger. Trevor Williams did go to the Mets. I thought they were going to do something bigger. Havis hurt right now and I don't know. I thought they were going to do something much bigger.
Starting point is 01:10:15 I thought they were going to go get a big picture. There were rumors. I hope DeGroms healthy and comes back. They got Trevor Williams as well. Yeah, it's part of the bias. trade. Friend of the pot. Big time friend of the pop.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Did his season start turning around? I know it wasn't there a rough start. He didn't get a little pet. Oh, he just came back. So the chat is saying. He just came back. Just had a really good start. That men let me help see in our regular season.
Starting point is 01:10:47 I'm okay. Metz got, I think Carrasco just came back today. Oh, cookies back? Byaz is a piece. Well, I still like the Mets as like a, they're going to win the division. Is my mic off? Your mic's on. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:59 I literally just said, it's Tom Crier. It's coming back tonight. It's Tom Crier. Everyone's getting got. I can't tell if you're messing with me or something. I'm not sure. No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:11:08 You've got the business there. Yeah. It never happens on purpose. Credit me first on that. Phillies. Gibby. I do like it in the end. Gibby's having a good year.
Starting point is 01:11:20 Kennedy's having a good year. Did they do other stuff? Other stuff? Other stuff for the Tyler Anderson. Nah Just funny Who knows what happens there, yeah Yeah, you can't help that
Starting point is 01:11:34 Whatever And Philly sneak in somehow Pittsburgh, sure Late action Happy for them Sell, sell, sell, sell Is Cole Tucker getting called up? He better
Starting point is 01:11:47 If not, what are they doing? Yeah, I don't really care Padres It got better, they got Fras We always forget Because that didn't have Had the deadline They got Frasier.
Starting point is 01:12:02 It's nice. It's a nice piece. They get Hudson. Frazier and Hudson. I mean, they got Musgrove, Darvish, and who's like their three right now? Snell. Musgrove, Darvish, Snell, Paddock. Snell.
Starting point is 01:12:19 Lament is not, is hurt right now? Believe so. Yeah. Weathers, the kid has been pitching. Yeah. Compare them what the Dodgers did and that they wanted Scherzer and that they're going to be, fuck! Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:37 Do you see it? Fuck. Ryan Lamar. Oh, the greaser got, what do you do? Yeah, they get designated. We got a lot of presence waiting for him at the stadium. He's a lot of switchblade cones. Might have to have Wade snag him or something.
Starting point is 01:12:52 We sent him a lot of switchblade combs. Have it to where you sent down. San Francisco Giants, a late thumbs up? Chris Bryant for a couple. Slap these? Yeah, they need some offense. I got Bryant. Soria to the Blue Jays.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Did we say that? We're there. St. Louis Cardinals? Kind of. Weird. Giving up anything for 10 games of J-Hap is bizarre. That's almost as unexplainable to me as paying the Mets to have Rich Hill when you're... I have a question on the Braves.
Starting point is 01:13:41 I'm not in tune of this. I did see that Ozone's federal charges got dropped. 30 days or something like that. Is there 30-day what? I think you got like 30-day suspension or is that Castro? It's Castro. I got 30 days. Oh, it's Castro.
Starting point is 01:13:57 I don't know what's going on with that. And the Nationals announced they're going to release him at the conclusion of that. I don't know what's going on with that. Final team, team that made a lot of noise. Your Washington Nationals. Scher, Turner for a couple legit prospects and then the Schwerber trade as well. They had to get, yeah, I mean, they had to. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:22 They had to blow it up. They had to blow it up. Tray Turner. That's a tough one. That's a tough one. Yeah, I mean. Feels like those two Soto and Turner together, that's a core. This one, I'm half going down.
Starting point is 01:14:37 I wish they didn't trade Turner. I wish they didn't trade Turner. You're starting shortstop who's like a top three shortstop? They did get a good return for trading those guys. But still, trade Turner, one of the best position players last three seasons. The principle of that. Like just think about, you know, we always. say we don't you guys know your team better than us think about how much you've loved your best
Starting point is 01:14:59 shortstop you've watched play on your team and that guy got traded like in his prime that's kind of half as a throwin yeah that's the denzil grab your heart gif they got the world series though man yeah he was there for that hope those kids are nasty for him kebert and josiah Anything else in your guys' hearts? No, I'm obviously, I apologize to the talking baseball crowd. I am trying to figure out Yankees how the cookie crumbles for all, how this just plays out. So, I mean, I don't know if we have to do the pregame show at some point.
Starting point is 01:15:44 I don't know if we want to pause this. Because when we do talking yanks, it's pretty, it's, It's so in the weeds that non-Yankee fans won't care at all. But what starters are going to go to the bullpen now? Who's going to be the five starters? If Sevy and Kluber come back, who becomes a reliever? Stan needs to just play fucking left field and put Gallo in center and D.H. Voight, if they're all healthy. I mean, do we want to do a talking baseball if you want to leave, you're good, and then do a talking yanks right now.
Starting point is 01:16:11 Sure. I don't want to be part talking yanks. That's fine. Maybe you can cut this. I think we cut it. Then let's cut. Let's cut it. Thanks, everyone. Thanks, everyone. Appreciate you.
Starting point is 01:16:23 What a damn. What a damn. Yeah, 4,000 live viewers. We did not skip Atlanta. We did Atlanta. We've been live for an hour and 20 minutes, so we did touch on the braids. Done them a lot. Four major league outfielders. All having bad seasons.
Starting point is 01:16:48 Jock and Duval okay. I don't know Duval, but Solair and Sour and Tower and they are familiar with them. Job Trev.
