And who knows what we'll be saying about the Angels in a few years, you know? They got the budget. They got a location over there. They've just been a joke of a franchise. Spoiler, no angels on the all-al-j-j-M team. If you're new here going back a bunch of years, we said, I don't know if All-Star Games is how we should just measure the best. And the other thing is, you guys watch your team most nights,

that you don't watch around the league, so you might be like, hey, I love this guy. Are they the best at their position? and you might be like, oh my God, they're not top five. Or maybe they are and maybe they are on a landslide. So we wanted to highlight the players around the league who are the best and from start to finish. So each month, and not from that month, not if you just had a 1.2 OPS.

It's are you the best through April, which gives us our craziest team? Are you the best April through May? April through May through June. So these picks are the best at the position for the season. season so far. Oh, and we have the All-July team in front of us. It was Dylan Dingler. It was Wilson Contreras.

Chase Midroth. Kevin McGonagall, Jr. Camerero in the outfield. We need a center fielder. We believe in that. Sedan Rafael, Randy Roserana, and Riley Green with Yordon Alvarez at D.H. Cam Schlittler has been doing phenomenal things. And Bobby Witt Jr. won the year. U-Till fan vote last month.

In the NL, Drake Baldwin, Matt Olson, Bryce Terang, Odo Lopez, Max Muncie, James Wood, PCA, Corbin Carroll, Shohei Otani, the Miz, and C.J. Abrams won that U-Till vote. We will have to see. They talk about it in politics, like that horseshoe shape, where the crazies are more crazy. Anyways, the easy picks are easy because they're separating themselves further from the pack. And I believe the harder picks are harder, Coach Trev. Because we're in it, man. 130 games deep.

I can't believe we're here, dude. We're here. We're starting out with the AL Catcher. Yes. Which, this is like the perfect reminder of like this is through August. not the month of August because my guy that I chose

did not have a good month of August Dylan Dingler 518 OPS in the month of August but before that was really crushing the ball so the overall statistics for me still have him as the top catcher

in the AL I will say that if my guy Ryan Jeffers had a miss him time he might be here he's also had some games in September that would really help him out but per the guys that we have listed here I mean, Shay Landjoliers also he's been out he was out all August

I'm going with Dylan Dingler who is just an all-around catcher struggle this month but the numbers are too good collectively to not have him get my vote. Yeah Trev this was a reminder all the talk we had about catchers around the trade deadline and just when we say like I don't I don't want to say generic catcher statements, but you talk a lot about having a good catcher as a cheat code.

In the AL, it was Shay Langleyers the first two months. It's been Dylan Dingler since, and it's going to stay because, I mean, even the other names Dalton had on the sheet was Langaleers, who offensively still hangs around. He's played 93 games. And then, like, Carter Jensen's on the sheet, which shout out to young Carter Jensen for putting together a nice season. but the fact that that's what the a.l catching situation is this year is pretty wild. So, uh, congrats to Dylan Dingler. But again, it's another reason why we're trying to highlight, uh, these guys.

Because it's, you look at the ale catchers on paper and it's pretty wild, hoss. Ryan Jeffers, 75 games, 3.3 war. But you got to have guys that post. Should they have traded them? Have your thoughts changed on that? We're making a run again. And all of a sudden, we're making, hey, let's go. Jimmy, Norv, this has been embarrassing for the Tigers.

I, uh, that's not happened yet. And I told you. We're still in August. I told you, I have a new favorite player. We like the old's. There's something going on with Walker Jenkins. I don't know what it is. He's old school.

He's old school. Yeah. Like he looks like, yeah, it looks like a college quarterback. But he, something about him. at more no-esque. Congrats to Dylan Dingler. A lot of neck there. Yeah.

American League first base, Trev. I thought this was one of the tougher ones because it's some talking baseball legends. My guy Ben Rice has been lurking around here. He's kind of switched to DH only, which I feel like that hurts him. Muna Taka Murakami, who's been mentioned. He's missed some time this year.

Jonathan Iranda is just a baller. but I think this is coming down, for me at least, it came down to Pete Alonzo and Wilson Contreras, a couple AL East, former NLL legends, who have been balling out and are leading their teams.

I mean, the socks are in the dance. The Orioles are right outside it as we record. Trev, what did you see? This one's interesting, because I do think it does come down to Alonzo and Contreras. I do like my guys to post. There's no doubt about that. This is probably a discussion

do you like counting stats or do you like rate stats? These guys are pretty similar if you're looking at defensive metrics and what they bring to the table, which at first base, kind of in the, I want a good defensive first base, but no doubt about it,

but it's kind of on the back burner of my mind. I want guys that rake. Yeah. So Alonzo and Contreras do that. I want with the guy that has the higher OBP, has the higher batting average, has higher set, slug, and so clearly has the higher OPS, and he has a higher weight of runs, Crated

Plus, and that would be Wilson and Contreras. Now, you can argue, and I'm sure you will, that Pete Alonzo has posted every single game, does have the counting stats. If you want to go and look at homers and RBI and all that, like, he is going to come out on top. So I get it. I'm a Pete Alonzo stand with you. I just think that Wilson Contreras, rate stats, kind of what I think he, I think he kept

Boston afloat when they were like dead, dead. It's true. Him and Mickey Gasper, obviously. Oh my gosh. So I factored that in a little bit. I think he's been really, really good. Maybe the most underrated off-season move in baseball was Contreras going over there. Because remember, they wanted Pete Alonzo.

Didn't get him. End up getting Contreras, and he's been fantastic for them. So I'm going Contreras. I'm curious to see what you say. Yeah, I mean, there's not much of a poker face over here. The people know what I like. And I've been raving about Alonzo. He's had no help within that lineup. The Red Sox offense, like, I mean, you mentioned, you know,

the Mick literally running with him. I literally just typed in Mickey Gasper's Twins jersey because I am getting one of those. Yeah, for me, Trev, you laid it out perfectly. Contreras does have an edge on him in almost every percentage stat. The OPS gets a little extra juice, if you're a weighted runs-created plus guy. He still has them, but it brings things closer because of Fenway versus what Camden has turned into. I just think the counting stats, the gap between the counting stats and the gap between the percentage stats gave Alonzo the nod for me,

whether it's the six more home runs, the runs, I mean 60s, almost 18 runs, it's 12 RBI. I don't know. When it was coming down to it, the fact that Pete plays every day that gave him these more counting stats, I want those more counting stats. So this one was close. That was my SoCal leaking out. Which means it's time for the judge. All right. A.L. First base is our first one.

And I think it's the tightest one that we are kicking to the notable Judge Johnboy. Your Honor, how are you? Hello. Reminder. I am orbiting the tiebreakers. I trust that the two in charge have presented me to people worthy of being tied in all of the normal stats. I don't even look at them.

This is the closest thing you've ever handed me. It's actually unbelievable. at how close these two players are in every tiebreaker stat that I look at. I mean, you're talking, I like looking at K percent and walk percent. Pete Alonzo, 24.2 percent. Strikeout rate, Wilson Contreras, 25.3. The court deems that negligible. That's nothing.

Walk percentage, Pete Alonzo, 11.2. Wilson, conturas 10, or no, sorry, Wilson, Gantorres, 11. That's the same number. But that 11.2, Your Honor. No. The splits? Okay, I really like this one, actually. Are you relieverproof? Or can they bring in a specialist to get you out?

Both of these guys, no, they're not relieverproof. But Pete Alonzo and Wilson Contreras are the same. Pete has an 897 OPS against right-handers. Wilson-Kincheris has an 884. That's the same. Pete Alonzo has a 524 against left-handers. Wilson can't jurors is a 508. That's the same difference, the same guy.

So then we keep going. I look at, well, let's see how the defense grades out. Not that I trust the metrics, but is it like glaringly different? They both have the same exact DRS, zero. They both have the same exact outs above average. One. Tide. Then I say, well, what the shit?

I got to create more tiebreakers. So I say, well, okay, this is a April through August. Did any of these guys have like multiple dead months and one month is carrying them? Because I'd favor consistency throughout the year over, you know, the tale of two bad months, two good months. I'd rather four steady months if I'm looking at a players. They both had one dead month. I've been great.

Their other four. The only thing I can lean on is that Pete Alonzo has not missed a game. He has not missed a game. Three years running now. he has played 18 more games. No, sorry, I don't know what it is. He's played 139 games, and that might include one in September versus 125. Every time he does not play first base, he DHSs.

That's consistency, a manager's dream. So I don't know which, who was on what side of this debate, but I choose Alonzo, but really they're the same guy. pretty incredible out to the same guy no qualms here no qualms here for me I had contraris there you know there's just something about

how he handled that Boston team when they were in the dumps I think he I think he was the guy there but Pete Alonzo I mean look the Orioles are in a playoff spot right now as well so that is a great call the Kirk Gibson MVP you know the locker room MVP

yeah who knows maybe Alonzo's doing the same thing for Baltimore. He's the only vet over there. They traded away all the others. One's, you know, definitely more for show and in her face. But yeah, I, no losers here. No losers here. Thank you, Your Honor. All right, let's go over to a little bit of a slop fest. It's the American League. What happened to the league I loved? American League second base has been all over the board this year. Young Cole Young in April had it.

Zeke Duran from the top rope in May and June. And then it's been our guy Chase Midroth, who's had it the past two months. The other guys at second base, we've got Jazz Chisholm, who the counting stats, 40 stolen bases, controversial for one broadcaster. Cody Clemens, who, again, the versatility is probably hurting him.

Cole Young is lurking around. What do you see, Coach? that guy's getting it from all over he's in the bad place right now to me this is kind of cutting dry Cody Clemens gets hurt because he's playing all over the place

he's been fantastic with the twins I don't think some of the stats match up with the other guys but I do want to shout him out because he's been really really good I believe it is 24th Homer last night that happened in September so Yeah. I went with a guy who I think is a really good all-around baseball player,

and he has become somewhat of a talking baseball legend. I was choosing between Jazz Chisholm and Chase Midroth. But again, if you just kind of look at, I'm going, he's got a higher OPS, he's got a lower strikeout percentage. He's got a higher OBP by 40s. points, which I think is good. So he's, I think he's a better

offensive player right now. The only difference is he ain't running. Come on, Chase. I think you could do it. If Josh Naylor can swipe bags, you can too. Two stolen bases compared to Jazz is 40. That's the only one that I think that I

care about significantly enough. I'm going with Chase Mindroth here. It's going to be snaps for Chase Midroth. It's a little bit by default, unfortunately. I don't, you know, shouldn't be shots fired at Chase Midroth. He should be, I think in a lot of these positions, we'd be mentioning Chase Midroth and be like, oh, he's having a real nice year. Did you know? And then you talk about the other guy. No one else at Second Bay. I mean, dude, jazz, I say this, and I think Jazz has quotes on this. Like, it's been a very, it's been a disappointing

season. Now, his numbers are at an interesting spot that if Jazz was to have a game, Gangbuster September. He could land in a pretty nice baseball season with his free agency coming up and the lack of other second baseman. The numbers are pretty similar. Defensively, these guys both grade out really, really well. So there's really, especially with OAA,

they're very similar there. So it's not a lot separating them, but I did end up going with my guy, Chase Majdoth. Me, 112 way to runs, created plus compared the Jazz's There's some tiebreaker things there that got me. Yeah, and this was my argument last time.

I just like it, like when you look at these guys, you're looking like, what do you do here? Chase Midrath's trying to get on base. Like that's the goal. He does a solid job of it. He plays a strong second base. I think the range OAA really likes him a lot. You'd say the same jazz and Cole Young.

So I think Midroth has it. I hope someone go nothing. nuts in September because this is, come on, you're letting down Roberto Alamar. You're letting down Brian Dozier, if I'm being honest. So congrats to Chase Midroth. Chase Midroth is Brian Dozier. Hey, man. Just needs to hit homers.

Yeah. Pull the ball in the air. That's what he did. Oh, okay. Josh Rillingham, probably not known for being analytically driven. Okay. I mean, he was the first guy I'd ever really heard. Why are you trying to hit the ball anywhere but to the pool side in the air?

And that's now what everyone talks about. Ain't that it? He's like, Bluffy, why are you trying to hit the ball to the biggest part of the ballpark? Quickest way to the seats is down the left field line. I was like, that kind of makes sense, Josh. Damn, Josh Willingham. Crazy that weird. Yep, okay, I'll leave that.

Took it back in July from Bobby Witt, Jr., who was sandwiched in between in May and June. I think these two are still duking it out. I'll put my spoiler out there. One guy started to go nuts and kind of reclaimed his throne. I think this is going to be Bobby Witt, Jr. easy. I too have Bobby Witt.

He did. He struggled in July, and that's when we're going to go, God him. Bobby Witt hit 196 for a 536 OPS in July. Turn it around in August. He hit 300, and his OPS was 857. He swiped a ton of bags. The power numbers have been down

for Bobby Witt this year. Kind of almost overall offensive numbers, but he's still that damn good where those look fine now. The defense is going to play. And oh yeah, how many swipes does he have? 37. Yeah.

So he's the best all-around player not named PCA in the sport right now. Oh. Yeah, and his August, 306, 398, 857, with some stolen bases and everything he does. leading those royals back. We only got a couple losses we can give up.

McGonigal remains awesome himself. But what did he do in August? I just had in front of me. August 231, 317 to 697 OPS. So these guys that have been neck and neck and McGonnell's not out of it. But Bobbywood Jr.'s big month gives him back his AL shortstop crown.

Crown? Crown? That he's so used to. Amigano go just get up a home run to your Walker Jenkins. Or no, that was, was that him or was it McKinsgo? McKinsgo. Oh, my bad. Come on my bad. Come on.

I mean, Mick, there's two mix on that team. There's two mix. And it all comes back to Mickey Gasper. A.L. third base, I thought, was another one that I would have marked as one of the tougher ones on the board. Because J. Ram, who won in April, has been a little missing, although he might be on his way back. Then it was the mid, the rise of Miguel Various. one of the cornerstone pieces on that White Sox team. And then Junior Caminero started hitting home runs pretty much every game.

That gave him the spot in July. Those last two guys are who it comes down to. Junior Caminero versus Miguel Vargas. There's some Okamoto. There's some Paretas in there. Trev, how do you sort this out? Your AL third base, literally. This one is so tough for me.

It really is. I don't even know where you went, to be honest with you. I've been a Miguel Vargas guy almost all year long, but Junior Cameronero has been so damn good. You can change your vote. We can try to sneak the judge back in here. Why don't we just give it to Junior Bolt? Unless you have some, I'm saying,

do you have something that's going to make this make sense to me? I think they both slug. Like, I think they are both bopping the ball around the ballpark. Miguel Vargas. But Junior Camerrano to a different stratosphere? I mean, I wouldn't say different stratosphere. 37 homers to 29. Right.

I mean, Vargas has 10 more doubles. Swipes. Swipes. I don't super. I mean, slugging is 50 points higher for junior. I don't know, man. For me, if I, what my decision came down to and you've lost full faith in whatever

your decision was. For me, it was both of these guys are bopping. You're right. Caminero is out bopping him to a degree. I don't think that degree is significant that when it comes down to everything else and who I'd rather have at third base, Camerro is basically the worst third baseman. I know Vargas isn't lighting it up over there, but he gives me more at third base. And I did kind of penalize him for that, that I went with Miguel Vargas. This is close. I was surprised just like you were that this didn't come down to a tiebreaker, but maybe it does come down to a tiebreaker.

I'm just looking one thing real quick. Okay. Okay, that's pretty good. You're sticking with Vargas. I like my Vargas pick. The savant likes it. What does the savant like about it? just everything

all around blood red if you want sprint speed that's that's not why I made this all right they are similarly profiled as hitters

junior Cameronero has more homers better slug yes Vargas has the stolen bases Vargas has the clutch okay the clutch stats that I go to

runners in square in position what's your OPS and the two outs runners and scoring position Vargas has him as well by a significant margin. So I will go with Miguel Vargas and we'll just have to snap him in, baby. This is a tough one when I could yell that for this one. Hey, maybe Camerro's got a chance in the util because he is going nuts. He's on pace for another, potentially another 45 homer season.

I honestly, and I kind of just laid this out there, for me it was like the worst third baseman versus not and I'm glad you could dig up the clutch stats there is some base running stuff there that Miguel Vargas does add that Caminero doesn't have but he also doesn't have to run the bases

because he just hits it out of the park pretty much so I see what happened I think what Miguel Vargas is doing as a pure slugging third baseman is kind of it's given me flashbacks to a different era of third baseman I know you always talk about playing during the glory years. Like Miguel Vargas is having, he's going to have a 35 homer, like OPS in the mid to high eights.

Like he's bawling out while also, I mean, he's being a little bit of a liability at third. But if you're an OAA guy, which I'm not, I'm more so I test, like OAA minus seven for Vargas, minus 16 for Camerro. So that's like, in theory, doubly is worse. Yeah. the stat that I was referencing two outs runners in scoring position Camerrano's OPS 901 so good great

Miguel Vargas one dot oneing it in those situations this was tight I'm sorry no judge sometimes sometimes that's how the cookie crumbles one of them go out and please have a great September so we don't have to do that again in the outfield as we've discussed we need a center fielder

which start out with Mike Trout. Remember that cat? He had it the first three months, Saddam Raphael jumped in. Throughout our AL Outfield journey, Judge was there. He's been out a while. Buck Daddy, Cody Bellinger.

Last month, Randy Rosarana and Riley Green tucked in there. So Trev, I guess start with centerfield. I'm going with a guy that has had, just was in the news for a controversial play. I'm going with Saddam Rafael. I think the mixture of what he can do with the bat, then, you know, elite, elite center field play puts him above anybody else that we have here.

Buxens can be there when he's healthy. He just hasn't been healthy. He hasn't played enough games for me. Love me some Tristan Peters. Love me some Tristan Peters. How about Tristan Peters showing up on the sheet? Pretty cool. Pretty cool.

An interesting argument for him. Some of the counting stats are out because he kind of platooned. to start the year. Yeah, I don't know if it's two by default. Also, Raphael, like, played appearance-wise because of that. Raphael and a lot of the counting stats are a lot higher. And Buck's been out and Trout's been out that. And it is special defense, like you said.

I think it's PCA and this guy in the center field position that I stayed with him. I'll be interesting to see, you know, Trouty is back in playing and some of these other guys. Can they catch Raffa? but also if he has a good September, he will hold on to it because he's having a fantastic year. So snaps for Saddam, Raphaela. In the corner, coach, I mean, we got some of the young bucks are showing up.

Caglio, Chase DeLotter, along with a couple guys we're familiar with. So walk us through how your brain saw it. I'm going with my guy Randy in one of the spots. He's swiping bags. He's getting on base more than anybody on this. list to a 371 clip he's had some clutch knocks for the mariners i know they're i mean look they're i mean them and the twins let's see what happens with them i'm i've called both of those teams dead essentially but maybe randy brings him back there i think randy deserves it 21 homers uh 20 swipes already

and uh he's just really really consistent heading into a free agent year yeah how long has has he been has he been a guy every month month he has not no no because judge he was going yeah just last month okay you are right he he was the easiest pick um the the numbers just stand out compared to the other guys um and yeah he's kind of been a little overlooked how good he's been because this mariners team has been so brutal and like julio and cal where are you guys at um but now lazaro montez is here so um yeah hey mariner's we ride Walker Jenkins and Montes lead us to the Promise land

And I'm going to go with another Boston outfielder in Williur-Abreu, 23 homers on the year, 76 runs, 70 runs driven in. He's got 31 doubles, so he's putting the ball in them gaps. And he can go get it out there in the outfield. he's had some really, really nice defensive games this year as well, eight stolen bases, kind of does everything. A guy that does everything right. I'm in on Willier.

Boston fans weren't sure to make of him for quite some time. I kept saying, like, I love this guy. I think this year he's kind of really put himself on the map. So Willier gets my last spot. Trev, I, we are in lockstep. You know, he was, yeah, he was a platoon guy, and that was part of the problem for a, little bit. And now he's made it his strong side. He's got a 905 OPS versus lefties. And Travis,

you went down this board, whether, you know, Caglione and DeLotter kind of took a while to get going, although now they're setting the world on fire that if they keep doing that, watch out. Cody missed time. Going back to the other center fielders, because like they weren't out of it. Buck's been out. Tristan Peters was interesting, but you're right. I mean, pull to pull, Wheeler-Abreu has been there. He's been contributing. And it's potentially a gold-glove defense because he's done that before. That, yeah, I would rather just pencil that when I'm looking at the other guys

Homer seems to be this year. Wouldn't surprise me if this dude got to 46, 47. How do you like that? I think I did this last time. He leads the AL or the league in home runs, RBI, walks, batting average on base, slugging OPS, OPS Plus. He's 346ing it. Total bases, intentional walks.

Yeah. No, he's tied. his career high with homers. He's 10 off his career high in RBI. He set his career high with walks. Yeah, he's never had the 162 season, knock on some wood, and he might be leading Houston to the playoffs, himself to MVP. Maybe we need to talk more Yordawn. Maybe we talk the right amount of Yordaum. So for the U.Till, who do we, we need to throw Camerro in because we feel dirty about that. McGonigal and Contreras? Yes. Contreras, McGonigal, and Caminero, yeah.

I think that's it. I feel like the outfield was easier, more cut and dry than the other positions. I agree. Is he here, Trevor? I'd make a case for Drew Rasmussen as well to be in this conversation. I do think that Schlisselaer was held on to it. These stats are close. He has pitched more, and sometimes I go back and forth like, okay, what's going on in the rotation? He's posted.

He has consistently across the board. He's got 200 strikeouts as well. I know CIS is leading in that, but he walks less people. I was actually shocked that Cs has his homers per nine where as low as they are. There's 0.6 to a 0.77 for Cam Schlitler. He does have him in opponent's average as well.

Seas does 174 to Cam Schilller's 194. Those are the only two guys we have listed here. that are under 200. All these guys are phenomenal, though. And then the whip, because Cise does walk a few more people than Schlitler, ends up going in his favor to a 0.97. So Rasmussen has the whip at 0.93. But as far as all the other stuff, I'm going to go with the guy that can strike people out,

doesn't walk people. I'm going with Camp Schlittler. Dylan Cise is charging. And what he's doing is a very special season. Schlittler, everything you laid down out, people know I like innings and I like ERA at the end of the day. And he hasn't been both. That for now, that's going to hold up. But man, every start for them and they've been pitching on the same day, which is really fun as they race for the A.L.

Siongat you shouted out Drew Rasmussen. Sunny Gray and Parker Messick deserve a lot of love. Parker Messick having a sneaky, amazing rookie season. Him and McGonigal could get interesting. It also could not. Congrats to Camp Schiller. He's disgusting. The National League, Trevor Plough.

Hunter Goodman snuck up in June because all he did was hit home runs. Drake Baldwin won it back controversially over Gabriot Moreno, who's continued to ball out. Those other guys are in contention. William Contreras always lurking.

Trev, I feel, I don't know. Last time we walked away from AllJM feeling like we had blood on our hands. Yeah, we did not do a good job last time. I even apologized to Gabby Moreno on our social post of the All-Jermen. JM through July. I think we need to write the wrong. This guy's been fantastic on all sides of the ball. He's hitting 303. Like, I don't know, it's Gabby, man. It is, he's been the best catcher in baseball this season. I think he passed Dingler, which we talked about in the AL. and we haven't talked about him a ton and he's a big reason why the snakes are in or out of the playoffs on a given day it's insane dude 382 on base

But where Matt Olson gets him is on the defensive side. the guy's an all-around ball player. Freddie Freeman, Stud, love you. I can't believe the numbers that Thai France has put out there. You know, he's missed some time

so it doesn't have the full counting ability there. Jake Bowers has had a fantastic year for the Brewers. And yes, I have to mention Alec Berlson, who won the Silver Slugger last year. We know that. I'm taking Matt Olson.

The most well-rounded player on this board. Jake Bowers, and Thai France about to have a nice off season as long as we play. This is what I'm talking about with NL first baseman, although I bet if we looked back like 10 years, like we have no OPS in the nines. Oh, okay.

And that I think we would not find that too often as we went back in the history of baseball. But where we're standing right now, Matt Olson, is to me the clear-cut favorite here. I'm I'm interested in your theory, Trev, because yeah, I mean, there's still an argument this NL crop is stronger than the A.L. crop. But you're right. No one's, I would say no one's having the crazy year, but you know who is Matt Olson?

Because he might hit 45 taters again. He had 37 by the time the month, a huge part of the brave success, another guy who posts every day. But yeah, I think this is one of those. We've had a lot of these that we go through. through every category, and he ends up not winning them all, because, like, if you want batting average, there's Fred.

Is that an Hall of Famer? I think so. Like, he's on a path. He would be, I mean, kind of like, a Scott Rowland or someone like that, like just posting every day and being really, really good, that yes, that would, for me, that's Hall of Famer. He has to keep it going.

for three, four more years and sometimes we forget. If he averages 35 homers over the next five years, which is kind of what he's been doing over his career, that'd get him the 500. He's sitting at 325 right now. 500. Yeah, and that's the thing we never know. It's for baseball players, it can end quick. Some guys just keep hitting.

And like, I don't know, Matt Olson feels like the game plan's working if he's not become a better overall player since he's been Atlanta. Our guy, Bryce Terang, handsome, strong.

He had the all-around nod again. Trev, I'll cut you off. I'm going back to him because I think it's the same argument that everyone's good here. He's just a little gooder. Yeah, I think his overall game plays here. I need to ask people who watch Cardinals games religiously. 22 outs above average for J.J. Weatherholt. He's putting everyone else to shame.

I believe Bryce Terang is like 14. He's in the 98th percentile. So he's, J.J. Weatherholt's doing something different. Does it feel that way on a night in, night out basis? I watch Bryce Terang play. and I'm like, this guy is the best defender I've seen in the infield this year. I just love everything he does. He makes it look easy.

The range is there, all that. But Weatherholds, OAA, is nuts. But yeah, I'm going to rank just because all across the board that you can't really find something that this guy does not do well. Yeah, I mean, again, Cardinals fans, you let us know. But the Weatherhole highlights are up there. And some of them, game saving, game changing plays. I've seen the highlights. I want to know day in, day out, like what, you know, if it really feels that special.

want the ball hit to? Because the offensive stats are pretty close. You know, there's some things that Ellie does better like power. But going with a guy who actually has more stolen bases than Ellie. So he can run. He can defend.

One of the better defenders in the game right now is our guy Ota Lopez. So I went with him. Yes. Ellie's missing. him time. He has him, you know, in a chunk of the percentage stats. Counting-wise, it's pretty close outside of homers, because Ellie's got that. But he also has double the strikeouts in less games. So that's, you know, I know the honorable judge brings this up sometimes. The at bat you're going to get, sometimes Ellie's just going to get beat and it's just done. Odo's got a little more fight. And like you said, defensively, sure, Ellie can make the high

some of the routine stuff is tough day in, day out, that if we're talking about if routine defenses can be a struggle, and if you're striking out a ton, that can be a tough product sometimes. Obviously, everything else is one of the most electric players in baseball. But Odo deserves love for what he's doing this year. I double stamp it. And Joey Votto just came out and said that Ellie's going to get 12 years 700 million.

He's been at third base throughout the whole ride, holding back historic guys. Aronado, Machado, Bregman, Nick Gonzalez mentioned. Trev, this gets interesting because Alex Bregman just had a historic month. Muncie's still holding serve. What do you think?

I'm shocked at how well Muncie has aged. He's fantastic. I love watching this guy play. We're talking straight offense. He's got some strikeout stuff. There's no doubt about it. but he can also carry a team. I end up going with Alex Breggman

just because the K percentage is low and the defense is going to be there. And that's kind of what they brought. They brought him over there with the Cubs. You got to fit in defensively. You got to hit. He didn't do that early on. He had some months there

where he was still getting on base, getting hits, but there was no slug. He turned that on 13 homers in the month. of August. So I think because of that, he caught Muncie in, because of this month, he caught Muncie in that power department, 26-homers for Muncie, 23 for Bregman, but everything else runs, RBI, stolen bases, even though that's not very much at all. It's three to two. So that doesn't really count. But overall game, I'm just, I'm taking Alex Bregman, man. I think it's more of a consistent bet. Trev, you can say that you are an NL third baseman, two games.

at National League third base. So proud of you. Was one the walk-off? Yes, one was the walk-off. So you joined that game in the 12th inning. 16-inning game. That's so ridiculous, Trev. Have they painted the seat yet?

We're in talks. We're in talks with it. I stayed Muncie for the reasons of, him being Max Muncie basically every month. Breggie, that last month is historic, but that's what's kept him out of it. The numbers right now are, it's what's your flavor of ice cream?

Do you want the mashing lefty? Do you want the third base, tough at bat, picks everything, Alex Breggman. You know, we can talk about the cultures, we can talk about the teams, we could do all of that. I stayed Muncie. Bregman hadn't done enough for me to get Monsie out of there. That one month feels like an outlier.

If he keeps it going, he will take it, and I'll see him then. Which means, let's take it to the judge. So with NL third base, it means it's time. We check in back with the judge. A couple talking baseball legends. Max Muncie versus Alex Bregman. Another pretty interesting one as far as the numbers I have. Sometimes the slash lines, the counting stats are similar,

and then I go look deeper and there's wildly different approaches here. Not really. They both hit both hands, which I like. You know, the Max Buncie, he's hitting 797 OPS versus Lapties, 846 variety. So if you look at the pie chart, you know, both those bars are pretty even and full. So that's the difference in OPS. The judge, we don't mess around in the store. Trev, did you not see the chart?

I saw the chart. That's left. That's verse lefties, versus righties. That's even. It looks even. You should have seen the last two guys. They stink, first one. So that's pretty good.

You know, Max Muncie strikes out a lot more than Alex Fregeman. A lot more. 25% versus 15%. 10% different. That's the most jarring I've had on one of these in a while. but Max Muncie overall in production and moving the runners over and positive outs in, you know, playing the game of baseball, he's got a better percentage there by a decent margin. But then Alex Braggman has way less, not way less.

He has less empty games. So we're just all twisted up. Defensively, every stat has Braggman performing better than Muncie. So I'm leaning on the K percentage and the defense, and I'm giving Bregman the knot. I mean, it's actually crazy about the empty gangs because Bregman has just started going. Last two months have been when all of his numbers have happened. So you want me to take the dead month effect into more of these, not having to be the eighth time. I'm just saying it's knocking the empty game rate would be in favor of Bregman because I believe up until, I don't know,

July, he was like 645 or something like that, OPS. Well, that could still mean he's getting a hit a game. Yeah, there was no slug. There was no slug happening. So even when he wasn't, so that's actually why I like empty game because there's some guys, if they're not slugging, they're not helping you in any which way. And I prefer my players if they can't find the grandstand, they can at least find the grass. Yeah, that Bregman was interesting because he kind of just had a historic month.

A few of the Cubbies did that that sent him up there. And yeah, I was fine with how this fell either way. Max Muncie loses the throne currently was on his way to a silver daisy. I think he's going to enter the fan you till vote. I know, Your Honor. I know, but you can't know these. You can't know those things. You can't know these things.

You just have to be a fair ruler. I can't know those things because it would have persuaded me. I know. I saw for my reaction. Congrats. We'll see. We'll see in the fan vote. All right, people.

He's got 20 swipes. You can hit for power. You know he's going to hit some triples. He goes and gets it in the outfield. A little bit better than I think people will give him credit for. So that will be my first selection. He's got a 5B war, which Andy Pahas has him on that and PCA. Other than that, that's the highest on this sheet.

And if you're going by F-Wor, it is only PCA that has a higher F-Wor than him. So I'm taking Corbyn Carroll for one of my spots. What about the other one? I thought we might go tit for tat here. I don't have Corbyn. So we will be going to the judge. Corbyn Carroll probably would have been my fourth pick. 16 triples.

16 triples. You love that. My thing with Corby, every time I go to look at Corbyn Carroll's stats, I think every category should be up like 10 to 15 points. You want them to be. In your mind they are. In my mind they are.

Like, yes, like Corbyn Carroll hitting 244, that feels just a little low for me. Corm Caryl's on base, 341. OPS 817. This guy, him and Gabby Moreno might be the most underrated players in baseball. How does Sayas Suzuki not get more love? Yeah, I'm in. Every year, the numbers are there.

I mean, as far as Japanese hitters goes, is he like the third? is it Ichiro Otani and him that's kind of crazy to think about wow wow what about Hadeki Matsui Matsui and Matsui Matsui gets the nod but Sayas

Like, he is bawling out year over year. he also just had an incredible month. Rob was laughing that the Cubs broadcast kept bringing it up, that PCA Bregman and SEA.

I think DePaul was traveling pretty good at Wrigley last month. But the ball always flies well for SEA. Hits righties and lefties. The defensive numbers are there this year. Like, Sayah's just a straight-up baller that I was, like you were saying, I was kind of building out my team, and I was like, corner outfielder, give me a bopper,

who I know what I'm getting, who also covers defensively, give me Sayas Suzuki. I have no qualms with that. He's an absolute stud. And his numbers are kind of tracking better than Hedeky Matsui, okay? Crazy, right? Yeah. Anyone could have had him, by the way.

They're all pretty even in that. So I went with Suzuki because of the mostly the splits and they're kind of even everywhere else. He wasn't like out of the four in all categories. There was one that was like, well, he's the worst at this. And his name wasn't any of those.

So that's why I went with him first. The next one is super interesting. I'm between Bryce Harper and Michael. Actually, I really don't know because Michael Harris has just no walk percentage. But I'm guessing he make, I don't have these here. I'm guessing he makes up for it in base running. His base running points, like the amount of bags he grabs on a teammates hitting it. So not just stealing, but like going first to third, going second home are very, very high.

But Corby and Carroll are the same as him. So then I was like, well, Corby and Carroll doesn't have a 3% walk rate. but ultimately, I think I'm going Bryce Harper. His splits are the most drastic, but he has the highest OPS versus a single side. He also has the highest production numbers, and it's higher than anyone that you guys threw my way today, as far as does he play baseball to the moment?

Is he able to move the runners over? Is he able to have a better, better stats with runners on, than not game situations? where Corbyn Cowell's the worst at that. So I'm going to Harper. Pretty tough. Pretty tough decision. Maybe find me on another day.
