Hello and welcome to Talking Baseball. It's buy or sell trade rumors time. Less than a week of late. This is it. This is our last Rumors and Pleasures episode. Let's talk, Paul. Nick Ladolo. Budge Rodriguez.

Trev, how are you? Jacob and everybody watching, I'm doing great. I need to cough. Hold on. Okay, I'm better now. Nice. Perfect. What's going on with me in the morning? Didn't this coffee is getting into my throat or something like that. But I'm doing great. It's crazy.

We are less than a week wait for the trade deadline like you said. And we just really have had zero movement. The Curtis Me, Conner of the early trade. Great. Love it. But if you go to our board, we did the episode July 16th. I think that's when we put the graphic out. We did a few days before that.

None of those guys have been traded. Not a one. So we're either going to get a flurry of trades. A little El Niño, if you will, of trades. A little downpour. We're getting one. I think that ages us a little bit, Trev. Because El Nino for our generation was like, oh, snap.

Like, that took over the news. And, like, Dalton just shook his head. Like, I don't. He has no idea. Is that a prospect for the Padres? Who is that? There's been a few different El Ninoes, but the big one was, yeah, in the 90s.

This one's supposed to be big. Anyways, so we'll get either a flurry or, we might just get a little, you know, that gun that people shoot and she goes, maybe that happens. I got one of those. Yeah, I think you do. Yeah, I'm my current lean, and I don't know if the people like this, as Rob's putting up our trade draft chart,

which is currently clean sheet, clean bingo card. Everyone looking around a bingo, like, are you, anyone else got a number? That I don't know. There's going to be action. There's still so many teams. the Mixmaster that it is going to be it's going to be interesting now and maybe again we might have a long off season

but looking back for some of these tweener teams I'll throw your twins in the conversation a team like the nationals like if they do stand pat or they add or like or one of these teams that we're looking at and there's so many teams currently alive is there going to be a beautiful moment two years from now and it's like hey the cardinal sold and they picked up this

This guy, this guy, and this guy. Or is it not? I don't know. I currently think there's a lot of hope in the air. And the other thing that blows my mind, these geniuses that run baseball teams, yeah, let's go at them. You're going to let one week of baseball decide your moves? How nuts is that, Trev? That's nuts.

I was going to bring that up. Small sample size means nothing. I'm Jake Bend Dix. Except. when it does mean something like the last week and whether we go two and four instead of four and two

right it's insane dude it's insane I don't really believe it is you know causing decisions to be made whether you're a half game out of wildcard spot or a one and a half game out of a wildcard spot I truly don't believe that

so I don't know man it's right now this episode that we're going to do. I believe the way we're going to structure it is we're going to, Rob's going to throw some trade scenarios at us. We're either going to say yes or no, like or dislike, smash or pass, however you want to

say it. But every, like there's so many teams still in the race. And every single team is flawed. It's just, we'll see how it shakes out. We're going to try to do our best to give like informed decisions.

Go across the rumor mill. Use our big old baseball brains to do it, but it's a, what do they call it, a Mexican standoff? Yeah, I think that's a phrase. Don't know where it's from. If we do trade rumor smash or pass, how quickly does that get back to us? When Rob hits post, how quickly does, does Jom or court reach out and be like, hey. You can't say smash or pass? I think it's very 2000s.

I think we can. I mean, it's trade rumors. It's not like we're doing like characters from the Odyssey or something, but still haven't seen it. Need to put it on the calendar. Crazy. I follow this one Australian dude that does rates recipes and he says earmuffs. One, two, three.

F or F for a lot of fans of this show. Let's see what Bob O'Pedix got up his sleeves. All right, guys. With Terrick Scoobal making his potentially final start, in a tiger's uniform tonight, are the Dodgers the favorite over the other contenders? Coach, I'll let you go.

I would say yes. I'll smash that one. Because I'll tell you why. If I'm the Tigers, I still want to be competitive. If I trade Terrick Scouble, I want to be competitive this year. I want to be competitive next year. And like, if you kind of look at their rotation, with the guys they have and the guys that have kind of stepped up this year,

if they brought back another big league pitcher, they could still compete this year. I truly believe that. So the Dodgers have that. They have that in Amit Sheehan. I don't think they'd part with Robleski because of how good he's been, but I think that might be a possibility as well. So they have major league pitchers that they'd be willing to give up for Terrick Schuble,

not to mention they have a surplus of prospects, like too many prospects to have on their 40 men. So they're going to have to make a trade to open up space for some of these guys. So I think if you're offering a major league ready pitcher that has somewhat of a track record and a top 30 in all of baseball outfield prospect, I think the Tigers would like that. and I don't know if another team can really match that. Yeah, smash. I don't think, I guess the scoble topic, I still don't think scoble gets traded.

I think Detroit thinks they're still in. Is that part I can answer like that? I'm going to get to the question. Is the Dodgers the favorite? I'm just letting the people know. I don't think they're going to trade scubal. As we record this, they are five games behind. If you believe in however fan graphs comes up with their playoff percentages,

the Tigers, the Twins, and the White Sox are all in 30%. Has the Guardians closer to 50, which I don't know. I get why at the same time I don't. All four of those teams have a similar, if you can go, you can probably get into the dance. I don't think they're going to trade Scoobel. I think they're in this. they just made just DFA Jake Rogers.

So we're making, you know, we're making that time of year moves. Like it's shitter get off the pot. Boom. If I think that I have no idea how front offices actually work inside information from me. I'm guessing from what I've heard, the Tigers haven't even addressed. I don't think they've been on the phone and been like, if we trade scoobel. Like I think in the world of negotiating, they're still just like, no, we're not trade in scubel, blah, blah. They're waiting for that last moment panic. Give us your best offer now.

If they open the door for scubel, I think it's Dodgers by a mile. I think they would pay, kind of like what you're saying, with their outfield prospects alone, they could pay double or triple what other teams are going to offer that it's just a no-brainer as the Tigers organization. If they crack that door open, the Dodgers are going to come flying through. I don't think the, I don't think the tigers are. They have eight prospects, according to fan graphs, in the top 76 overall in baseball. We forget about River Ryan all the time. We shouldn't.

I don't. You don't. You don't. You don't. You don't. I mean, I tend to agree with you. Like, I don't think it's a percentage of Terrick Schuble getting traded. I'm terrible with percentages.

Sure. but I will send it out to like a 40% so lean not traded but I do think I do think they're going to get some offers here at the end that they're going to have to really, really consider. Yeah, it's you wonder if these next couple games matter.

I mean it gets Scoobel versus Baltimore tonight three versus the athletics and that takes them to the deadline. Two off days sandwiched in. So I get not a lot of sample left. It's four games that you'd like to think the Tigers know their game plan, but maybe they don't. And we will see.

We actually, we have some jersey swaps coming up later for the YouTube. Treve and I have a guy that we blindly texting Robin Dahl on the side that we like the Dodgers acquiring. So that's a little tease in the biz. Do you think tonight scuba scuba gets through like four? four innings. And let's say the Tigers have a sizable lead. Like they're up six nothing.

You didn't they yank them? No. No, they don't play games like that? I lean the opposite. I think Scoobel and the Tigers try to, try to make a final announcement. He doesn't need that. He doesn't.

But he's also kind of that guy, man. I know we, like scubel's got a little quirk to his personality. It's kind of not hardcore ace, even though when he pitches, he does have that personality. Like I want to be surprised if we get a 115 pitches from Scoobel through like eight innings tonight. I mean, from the Tiger side, if it's his last start with you, okay.

And they do have double off days coming up schedule-wise that actually logistically allows them to do that. I want to be surprised if this is a Scoobel announcement and I would hate to be a Baltimore Oriole tonight. Except, dude, did you see the Pete Alonzo Dean Kramer thing? Do I have to fight Dean Kramer? What the hell was that? Welcome to my world, baby.

Because he's 25 feet away from you. I don't know. It's just like, I don't know, man. It's the man bun. It's the man bun. That's what gets you riled up. One guy's got a 127 OPS plus and plays every day and 150 mil for the way he's played baseball in his career.

Well, I guess I can just read the quote. Sure. I'll be Bryce Harper in this. scenario. I'll be Dumbrowski. A close personal friend of mine. I think we need some help. I think we've proved ourselves pretty much all year. We've done a pretty good job. But anytime

you can get some help in here, some reinforcements, I think it helps. Then they asked him if the Phillies need a bat or an arm. He goes, I think both. Obviously, everybody knows what we need. I've said it over the last few days. We need both. Fair. Let's hear Bryce do it. Oh, really? Why?

I need some help, you know. But, you know, I think we've proved, you know, pretty much all year. We've done a pretty good job. But, you know, anytime you can, you know, get some help in here in reinforcements. I think it helps. Do you think that help would be best coming in the form of an arm or a bat? I think both. You know, I think obviously everybody knows what we need.

So I think I've set it over the last couple of days. I like it. I got no qualms within. We can use help. Well, I talked to Chris about this today. It's like, well, if Dave, if Dombrough is going to call me out to do my job through the media, I will call him out to do his job through the media. Problem is everyone's struggling on the Phillies offensive right now.

9 and 13 in July. I don't want to read Brandon Marsh's stats in July. I don't want to read Bryce Harper stats in July. I don't want to read Kyle Schwerper stats in July because they're bad. and those are the guys those are their All-Stars those are the guys that kept this offensive float and they're not doing it right now

and so really it's difficult for them so the question is Jake will they acquire both an arm and a bat the way Bryce Harper wants I'll answer I'll smash it

I just don't know how much of an impact like I don't think they get massive impact players at both I think they might get some reinforcements. And, you know, we've talked about their need for a right-handed outfielder. So you can talk Lane Thomas, you could talk Joe Adele, you can talk Taylor Ward. I think the Taylor Ward probably being the most like impact bat there.

But as far as like a starting pitcher, it's going to be hard to come by, man. I don't know who they could add. I don't know who they could add because the only way that I try. truly believe they'll be able to go after and get someone impactful is a salary eat, like taking on someone's contract. And there's really not a lot of guys out there that are performing well this year that, like, you could do that with. So I do think they'll get both. I just don't know how impactful they'll be. I, smash. I, I just think we got Dombrough at the helm. I used to not subscribe to the church.

of Dombrovsky, and now I do, looking at the years of that resume. And then for me, it goes back to kind of what you're saying, the needs, and kind of what Bryce said, the needs are very clear. They need literally a fifth starter. Like anything above that, obviously welcome on every team. But if they could get a guy to take the pill every fifth day, give them 5.2 and 2 earn runs, that's what the pitching needs. They could use some bullpen to.

The pen's gotten thin. And then they've been looking for that righty corner outfielder for years. Yeah. Taylor Ward, even though we've got a lot of teams looking for righty hitters, it is a true rental. And we know that a lot of these front offices aren't going to break their true beliefs in adding that extra prospect. I know Dumbrowski will.

I know it's not the deepest Philly farm system right now. But again, it's a true rental of Taylor Ward that, or a corner outfielder that I think if you're the Phillies, we're clearly here. You hear it in Bryce's tone. Not my favorite Bryce Harper haircut. A little high...

I don't mind it. It's a little high and tight for Bryce, for me personally. But yeah, they're going to add help. And I would guess on both sides of the ball. Smash. I'm looking for like... We'll give you this pitch

and then you've got to take this contract on easiest team to do that with is the San Francisco Giants Robbie Ray expiring contract you got guys like Willie Adomis who's going to start making 31 next year would Dave triple quadruple can tipple down

on the aging vet with a lot of money on his deal and maybe they'd pay for 25 of that that. I guess. Because that is, look, you get another bat who maybe you believe in and you get the pitcher that you need without, you know, they don't really have the prospect capital to get something like that done. So they'd have, I think they're going to have to do something with the money. Like, would, would he do that? I don't know, man. They were going to sign Boba Chet. So clearly that there was already like an owner sign off before the season financially that, I don't know,

that does get really interesting. Because I know, I think he, you assigned yourself as the Phillies testosterone coach at one point? Matt Chapman or Willie. I mean, you got two different types of T there. Robbie Ray, who's a guy that's basically guaranteed to get traded. And then, I don't know, you throw in like an Eric Miller from the bullpen? Like, the Giants are trying to get off that money. The Phillies supposedly have that money.

You're just, you're, the Phillies window, we've been wondering a timeline. If you do a deal like that, it's like, We got this year and next year pretty much, and then there might be some dark seasons in Philly. Devers is also an interesting one. Like, are the Giants really looking to get out from that contract? Are they? I don't really know.

Don't get me started on this. I'm just saying, like, Devers and Philly will be fucking nice. Again, that whole Jake, Jake Brain math, I think I gave last episode. Devers in Philly is a 40-homer guy again, like 900. OPS. I can't daydream of that. Do you have the balls to put him back at third? Robbie Ray and Raphael Devers to the fills. You heard it here. Although I have more coming on this situation. If adult question, if you had to, if you were Dombrowski, if you were firsthand to Dave

Dumbrowski and he's like, hey, we're, it's the witching hour. We can only get a pitcher or a hitter. what do you think Philly needs more oh man um I'll tap you with your reaction okay I think a hitter I think I agree yeah

because if they're going to make the playoffs which you gotta make the playoffs you can pair your rotation down to three and some funk at the end but they I mean go look at go look

at their offensive statistics it is not good Jake yeah it just isn't never makes all the sense in the world for this team no and it did easy well actually it does sorbs harper first base dh so yes you'd have to figure all of that out that's it's not um i'll tell you what might happen how long how long how long is swerver there for didn't he just signed for five another five so four and a half yeah okay that doesn't make it doesn't work no no no no i'll tell you what

But how about a little, what if I told you, the answer might be in AAA for the Phillies? Corner outfielder, Tommy Fam, just waiting. Just waiting. I got to look up the numbers. I'm looking them up. They're really going to need their testosterone coach. Oh, my God. Right now in AAA.

Okay. I can't even, is there any number? Oh, Lehigh Valley. Okay, here it is. 18 games, 81 A-Bs to a 210, 395, 242? So he's just walking. Tommy fans just drawn walks at AAA. I love that shit.

Yeah, okay. Keeping the kids in line down there. Let's go to the next one. The White Sox, are we smashing a pass? And the White Sox will be one of the most aggressive buyers at the deadline, specifically at the starting pitcher market. I'll take the lead on this. I've been watching my White Sox the past two nights as they've been playing the Yankees.

The Yankees with one of the weirdest hot stretches, one of the weirdest 11 and 4 runs you'll see a team go on. I've had some Yankee commentary before the episode. I'm going to pass, and maybe there's been too much smashing. I just think everything we talked about, I think if you're being real in the White Sox runoffice, which maybe they're not, dude. they've been doing a lot of losing. Why be real? But I do think the four teams in the AL Central that are still alive, ish, I think they still believe they're alive outside of the Royals, which that whole story is insane.

I think if you're the white side, like someone like Noah Schultz who pitched the other night, he's a 6'10 lefty. It feels like it's in there, but for a 610 lefty, it's going to take some time to figure it out. if you're the White Sox, like, I don't think that's a chip you cash in now for even a year and a half guy. Like, trust the process a little bit. There's so much youth on this team. My White Sox thing from the start is bringing some grizzly bears and see if that gives you something. The one I kept referencing was Jeff McNeil. Like, I don't even think they need him.

But just like, if Jeff McNeil comes in, covers the uniform in dirt, bats 300 for a couple weeks, like, I like that. I know they need some arms to get to the finish line, but cashing in, like, who's that righty you love? David Sandlin, like, trading in a piece like that to go get a vet down the stretch, I don't think that's the answer for the White Sox. So I think I'm going to jump ahead to what we had planned at the end of the episode because it's a perfect segue for us. I don't know if they're going to be one of the most aggressive buyers.

I think the most aggressive buyers are going to be people going after Terrick Scoobal. but I do have a guy going to the White Sox. I don't think I don't, I think I might have put him on a different team in our trade. Let me see if I did. In the trade draft. The trade draft.

Let's see. Okay, I did not. I did not. So that's good. I don't know if anybody else said. Okay, yeah, you had him. Oh. I am going to put a guy that we just talked about a ton.

I'm going to put Robbie Ray on the White So, It sucks. Okay. I have him. There's the Jersey swap. Nice, Bob. I do think this is the best team in the A.O. Central right now. I like their pitching more than other people do.

I've said that many times. But they do need someone that has a track record, is consistent. Can miss bats. He's been really good as of late. It wouldn't cost a ton of prospect capital because he is a true rental. And most of their guys are up in the big leagues anyway. they still have some. But I think it'll be a great fit for them.

It's like, yeah, we're going to compete this year. This is something that we really need help with. And what better guy than Robbie Ray, a little bit of gusto, a little bit of T-level to that team that doesn't really need it. I think he'd fit in perfectly there. You had him going to the J's. Jays ain't buying, play. Yeah.

So I think he fits in perfectly with this White Sox team. and I like that trade for them. So I do think they'll be aggressive. They won't be the most aggressive team, so I'll pass on that. But I do think they make a trade for a starting pitcher. I do have Robbie Ray going there. How about your guy, Trevor Richards out there,

Gandalf the Grey, just banging right on right combios. I have just a bad taste I'm out from when I saw in pitch with the Twins in 2024. He walked, I think he walked like 14 guys in like seven innings. and it was really bad. But I'm happy for him. Yeah, I just think Robbie Ray fits a team like the Phillies or the Braves a lot more that I feel like those teams. And those teams also just feel more confident. I think those teams know they're more in a buying window or competing window.

And I think they'll be willing to offer more capital. So not necessarily fit, I guess. although I'm trying to see, like, who would be Robbie Ray's friends on the team. I guess Benny, Eric Fetty, he got some vets on there, I guess. But, yeah, I just, I like some of the other landing area. Texas, Houston? I don't know. I like a couple of the old dog teams a little more for Bob Ray.

Okay. Okay. Next. San Diego purges their bullpen, trades both Mason Miller and Adrian Morejone Coach On three One

Two, three Yeah, it ain't happened Not both of them Get your big oven mitt Further away from the camera God damn it No way they do both of them I would be surprised if one of them goes

Yeah You know I'm I'm a trade your relievers At their peak kind of guy I mentioned to Chris Rose maybe the Phillies will have to trade you on Duran. Oh. If they really want to get serious about acquiring something of value, I know it's tough to lose him.

Trust me, I get it, bro. I lost him. I'm the guy that lost him. Okay. But I am a fan of that. And our team we're running, as soon as a reliever gets like high value and he's making some money, he's gone.

Right. Some other, there's like very few do I'm just keeping. because it's such a fluid position. These guys obviously have a track record. They're great. But I don't need, I'd rather, the value to me of a good reliever is always high at this time of the year,

and I think you do cash in on that. I don't think they trade both these guys. I do think that they will trade from their bullpen to get some help. They don't have any starting pitching, like literally none. I wonder if there's some preller magic to be done here

with everyone's going to be inquiring about Miller. You know, he's been a name at the top of the rumors, at the top of Chris Rose in our trade drafts, starting it out. I wonder if there's a little GM, these are not the droids you're looking for, if he's like, oh, well, you offered that for Mason Miller, what if you just give me this for Mora Hone? And then when that clock starts ticking,

Adrian Mora Hone, there's a chance he could be the best reliever traded. Like his his arm talent and what he could give you down the stretch is nasty. And if I'm, I just cannot picture the Phillies walking away from this season. Like Machado

has kind of turned it around. Fernando. Like there's signs of life here. And by the way, their next five games, Colorado and San Francisco. So as we're talking about do these games leading up to the trade deadline matter? What if the Padres go

four and five against Colorado and San Francisco and it's Monday. Like, do you have them trading as they would be 58 and 54 and in or a game out of the wild card? I don't, like, this team's here to compete. Yeah, but you have to trade from your position of depth and strength, which they have many, many bullpen arms that would be coveted. So yes, again, I agree with you that it doesn't have to be Mason Miller. It doesn't you have to be Adrian or home.

There's plenty of other guys in that pen that they could get value from. But I think if you want to get a starting pitcher back for a reliever, I think you're going to have to get up one of your top guys. So I think one of those guys is on the move. I just don't think it's, they're going to have to be absolutely blown away for Mason Miller. I don't see the same thing with AJ Morehon. I think the, dude, the ale is so wide open that, yes, I know people think the rays are looking for starting pitch.

And again, everyone's looking for pitching. It's a long season, blah, blah, blah. Man, I'll tell you, it's just fun. The Yankees that, again, are inducing weird feelings out of Yankee fans and non-Yanky fans, the West that just looks such a... The West and the Central are both disasters. That if you're the race who have been consistently the best team,

and you could go, dude, Yandi, Aranda, Camerero, and Arise, like, Like, pitchers don't want to do that. And by the way, the rest of the lineup just does their thing. Chandler Simpson has gotten hot again. You know how we feel about Ryan Vallade and Johnny DeLuca in the right at bat. That, yes, I think they are going to smash. Okay.

I'll push back on Luis Ryes to the Rangers. They got guys right now kind of taking over that position, Foskew and Lopez. So I don't know if that makes sense anymore. I think Arias can make sense for Boston. Now the Curtis is going to be out. The whole Luis Arise thing is turned into a baseball disaster that it's like, could he fit our team? Yes. Yes.

Because he's one of 11 people that can put the ball in play in baseball. So looking at the raised prospect capital, I'm looking at it right now, seven in the top 100. We're a prospect guy now. I mean, yeah, man. Yeah. I don't know any of them, but I'm reading a page that has their number. names on it. A lot of, when I see now, like,

a lot of prospects close to the big league, so double A, triple A, that's when you're like, all right, you've got to make decisions on these guys. The twins are going through this right now. A lot of our prospects are upper, upper level minor league guys, and it's like you don't have room for everybody. Right. So you do have to eventually trade guys.

The Dodgers are going to the same thing with all their outfielders that are kind of reaching that precipice of the minor leagues and you just don't have spots for them. So the race have a ton of guys like that. So I couldn't see them making a move. I hope so. I got Jeff on them just because they haven't done it. Yeah.

I understand why. I guess that's part of the reason. And I did me and Foolish Bailey. He's an F or F guy for you. We've done an annual Wake and Jake episode where he comes to the table with five mock trade. Or it might have done six this year. Mock trades. And we roll play it out a little bit.

And I don't know, for the Ray's, man, I just think if you really do the timeline of them being, like, kind of the most respected franchise in the sport, like the way the Ray's operate, Ray's gonna Ray. 2023, they start out the season with that undefeated April. They ended up paying one guy. He just ended up being not the guy. That, like, the Ray's sneaky every offseason. We hear about a trade rumor. we heard they offered Common Arrow for Show Hay? Like, the Rays have been looking for their splash,

and in a year with a wide open American League, I feel like this is the year. I'm looking up Ray's trades, and got a fantastic article written by Adam Berry and Joe Treza earlier this year. Delman Young sent to the twins for Garza and Bartlett and Eddie Morlawn, my Phoenix Desert Dog teammate, And then Garza for Archer, Robinson, Chorino, Sam Fold, and Brandon Geyer.

If you can bring in the hall that makes the Nationals a special team in 2028, and maybe you extend James Wood to make it hurt less or something, but I don't know how you trade that guy. I don't know how you trade that guy. I think you extend both of these guys or attempt to. Yeah. And if you can't get there with one of them or both of them, then later on in their careers, yeah, you can look to trade them.

Now it's not the time to do it. You just started winning. It's fun. People in D.C. are having a great time. Yeah. So, no, I'm Jeff in this one as well. Okay. The twins will hold on to both Joe Ryan and Ryan.

So I don't, I'll say this, Joe Ryan's not going anywhere. I can almost say that with 100% certainty. Again, no inside information.

That's just me talking right now. I've been wishy-washy on Jeffers for a long time. I think they're obviously a better team with Ryan Jeffers. I do think that he could bring back some real value for them, especially like in the bullpen, which is what they need more than anything. I'm just not sure if that's that's what they'll want for Jeffers like is that what you're going to cash it in for

like a reliever like I don't you just traded so many last year I don't know if they do it I think if there is one person to trade on that team it is Ryan Jeffers because he does hold extreme value in a market that just got banged up teams really looking for catching help there are big market teams that, you know, I think will offer.

So I'm wishy-washy on him. I'm Jeffin on both of them being traded because I just Joe Ryan's not going to get traded. He's not. But Jeffers, I'm still, I'm not sure if they'll trade him or not. My gut says, my gut says they will not. But if they did, I would be, I'd understand it. Yeah, and that's where, uh, I think baseball organizations, because as you've told us throughout the year,

there's a lot in play here. Like, twins fans need to feel a little love from the team. And ownership actually cares about that, which is good to hear. That, you know, Buxden was never, never real. That's just Phillies and Dodger fans daydreaming. Joe Ryan, there was almost a trade last year, so it would be interesting to see just what's out there and how that could go down. But I'm with you.

It seems like the Joe Ryan experience has found a home and let's extend our guy. Let's chase down Brad Radkechie for some of these twins. They're not going to extend him, but he is there next year. So if the trade aspect of it could happen in the offseason, it could happen at the deadline next year or whatever it may be. If they, I think it'll happen in the off season. If Ryan Jeffers is traded, which I think they should,

between the supply and demand between catchers, between the supply and demand between hitters, dude. This is 294, 397, and 928 OPS. Like, statistically, if he gets traded, he will be the best offensive performer that gets traded. I think what is interesting, we know how these front offices can get in their way a little bit, the twins could offer Jeffers a qualifying offer after the season.

And I think he would turn it down. because look at J.T. Rulamuto got, what was it, three for 45? And he was older and kind of declining where Jeffers feels like he's peaking. So you have to beat a comp pick prospect-wise, which I think teams would. But if you're the twins, you also don't have to balk. Like if you're not going to actually give us what we think we need, and whether that's relievers for the next couple years, whether that's a reliever and a prospect, whether that's however they want to go about it,

they can do the best deal for the Minnesota Twins. And with Caratini, your guy they drafted, see him in a year and a half or whatever. I just think they have to do, have to make the Jeffers trade. If they get the right offer, they're also very much in this playoff mix, that if they don't, again, Minnesota would love that

and they don't have to balk. But I think they're going to get offers. I do think Jeffers gets traded. The right offers is a good way put it, I think they'd want controllable bullpen arms. So not just like a rental, like multiple years of control on a guy that they believed in. And maybe some more. So yeah, it's interesting.

The other advantages, they can take risks on players with a little bit more of an injury history, especially pitching-wise. We've seen it with snow. We've seen it with glass now. that that is one of their biggest places to be advantageous that if you and I think they're out of the scuba market, they're going to be hitting up the phones,

and they're looking for impact pieces. They don't need a fifth starter to get them through the season. Like they're looking for playoff innings that you and I landed on the same guy. Do you have anything else to the recipe? I just think it'll be cool. Okay. He's a Californian? Yeah.

So he's born and raised in L.A. Number one overall pick out of Notre Dame high. So we used to smash on the Notre Dame nights. I'll tell you that much themselves. We used to eat them up. I think it's cool. And this is a guy with an ace potential. Years of control left.

And the Reds have a surplus of starting pitching. They need bangers. They don't got bangers, coach. Bring it, Bob. We both had Hunter Green. going to the Dodgers, 15 million next year, 16 the year after that, and then a team option in 2029 for 21, very affordable piece for the Dodgers. Well, I do think like, yeah, they spend and they don't care about the luxury tax.

I think eventually you're like, hey, man, like we need like something not $40 million a year. So a contract that I think will be valuable for them. and then yeah they have like pick your poison of outfielders i had zaheer hope going to them sure a lot of people have mentioned him as the prospect they'd be willing to trade the most this guy's a raker uh reds could use that in the outfield so i think i think it makes sense now hunter green hasn't had great starts this year you know he's um been on the injured list a few different times or maybe just once. I thought it was a few of it. No, just once.

It comes back on the 4th of July. Three and a third gives up eight earn runs, follows that up with a seven shuddy with 12 strikeouts. So it's there. It's been inconsistent this year, but you'd expect that coming off of injury. So I think the Dodgers, I think it would make a ton of sense for them. And I think they could do it and they'd be happy with the acquisition. And if you're the Reds, obviously, you never want to see a player like Hunter Green
