Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
Less than three weeks to go.
We got stuff to figure out.
We've got divisions.
We've got Wild Card Home Field Awards.
Let's talk ball.
Let's talk ball.
Justin Verlander.
Longo.
Ooh.
Fowl ball.
Just missed the poll.
Just missed the poll.
Hello and welcome to talking baseball presented by Fanatic Sports and Casino.
If you're locking into your baseball bets, Fanatic Sports and Casino is the place to do it.
Winning hits different here.
I am Jake Storelli.
That is Trevor Plouf.
Rob Choracco producing.
No deep feels in the lab with us, but he got the sheet ready to go.
Sending our best to the Feeley fam.
As we wrap up this, coach, they're playing football today in Australia.
Your guy nine.
Is he on the flight?
Where are they playing?
They're in Australia.
Have they landed yet?
Wasn't that a whole thing?
They were like, yeah, we're just flying in for the game.
So take our wheels up at 10 p.m. Pacific last night.
So I don't think they've landed yet.
I don't think they've landed.
That's insane.
Guys just been on the bird.
They're just getting off the plane, playing some football,
and then they'll head right back.
Yeah.
And that means if football games are back that count,
that means we got a lot of baseball games that count in a big,
way. As we finalize this regular season and get ready for the postseason, we're going to hit
some of the big topics. I mean, a lot of the topics we talk about in and out of our different
recap episodes. But kind of our final 18 days left of regular season, do we think the Central
can sort out differently? Do we think the wild card is going to play out or some other things that
we might be seeing along the way? And probably setting ourselves up for some bad.
clips as fans of teams that just want to hear good stuff about their teams.
And I get it.
As I just had a pretty big night, we had a big player comeback for the New York Yankees.
Elliot Ramos, as he's having a nice stretch.
What are you pointing about?
Twins had a big night, a big comeback victory against the cut of years.
Was it him?
It was Cody Clemens.
Josh Bell hit the longest homer of the week last week.
I saw that from our social.
It was a bomb in Chicago.
This is a nice Cody Clement's Homer.
Give us some love.
Dude, we need it.
We need a little love.
Oh, the twins are dead.
I don't know if you want to start the episode with that.
They're dead.
They're not dead.
They're dead.
They're going to go 13 and 4.
Shock the world.
I mean, I can promise you they're not going to do that.
Hey, we're at that time of year, people.
We're at that time of year.
Anything you need to get off your chest before we get going, Coach?
Anything for Boone?
Anything for Donaldson?
It's a big third baseman in media week.
I'll let Jimmy handle that one.
Okay.
If he needs to tap me in, I mean, tap me in.
Okay.
Me and J.D., we've locked horns before on the internet.
Became friends after that.
Classic 70-30 guy.
Yeah.
One of my favorite.
I was running a lot.
I'm more in the bulking phase of my life.
Really like that.
I don't. I don't.
Really like that. Get big.
Gotta be big to get big.
Let's do it, coach.
It's September 9th, 9-9, as number 99 returns for the Yankees.
Wait, hey, what's up with that, him coming back after 99 days?
That seems like they planned that.
That's not even like a thing, dude.
You want on the record? You want off the record.
I want, that's, they freaking plan that, didn't they?
I'm sick of it.
Here's what I'll say.
I love that Aaron Judge is back, playing for the New York Yankees.
And by the way, with this American League and how good the Yankees have been pitching,
it's like, I don't know, Yank.
I guess, Trev, I would ask you the pulse of that because you deal with so many Yankee fans within our company
and when you come out for warehouse stuff and all of that.
I feel like Yankee fan-wise, we haven't been out of control this year.
we haven't been
no one's been banging the table
like Yanks World Series
I feel like we've kind of been
I don't want to say handcuffed
but like one hand behind our back
we haven't been too loud this year
no? Yeah probably because
Aaron Judge hasn't been there and you've seen how
the offense has been clicking
and you know like when you get to
October it's the run prevention's great
but you need to score. Yeah
I don't know I think we're about to get really
rowdy. Yeah now the judge is back I could
see you guys becoming obnoxious again, which is great.
Because I'm seeing you, I don't know, in like 10 days or something.
I'm excited for that.
And yeah, dude, just the American League's wide open.
I do have some other thoughts on that.
With Judge coming back after 99 days, here's what I'll say.
He's an interesting cat.
Some of his quotes have been a little unjudgey in.
Like he's been saying I've, he's like, I've wanted to come back for a little while now.
Which, I don't know.
That could just be fan service.
aware? That could be judge service.
I will say this with about a 2% serious level.
I do think when you get to a certain level of like fame and fortune and being an amazing
1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1%.
Like we've seen a couple of athletes that get really attached to their number that I don't
know man, the 9999 thing is kind of crazy to me.
Me too.
Kind of crazy to me.
So whatever.
Sometimes the world works
We won't exist in 10 years
So what does it matter?
Yeah, we did
We should tell the people
We had some AI combos before this
And it didn't go great
I think they're going to win
I think I'm on their side
I think I concede
We're just going to be nestled up
In like our little chambers
Providing whatever we provide
Like the Matrix
Like I think it's just like our future

This Back to School season
Spend less on your kids with Amazon
You want to give your kids a great start
to the year, but back to school has a way of absolutely destroying your budget. The supply list
keeps growing, the clothes stop fitting, and somehow there's always one more thing. Amazon helps you
handle all of that without losing your mind or your wallet. Trev, you're a dad. How's back to school
shopping going for you and the kids? It's always such a hassle. Too many options, such a long list each
year, and I'll be honest, I love using Amazon. They have great deals, and it's a one-stop shop for
all of our back-to-school shopping. That's Amazon for back-to-school. Everything you need,
all in one place, backpacks, lunchboxes, notebooks, headphones, clothes, great prices,
huge selection, and it shows up at your door before you know it.
So remember, with Amazon's low back-to-school prices, just spend less on your kids
because every dollar you don't spend on them is a dollar you haven't spent on them.
Division races.
Division races.
As we come down the stretch, Coach, there's a couple still up in the air.
I would say there's two that are tight.
I think there's two that have a little bit of that hope that you talked about your twins going 13 and 4 down the stretch.
I think the two ones that are the most open are the two in the AL.
It's the White Sox and the Guardians, which we've talked about a little bit as we record today.
That is a two-game lead.
The Astros also have a two-game lead over the Texas Rangers.
And, of course, part of this funnels into the wild card.
as the Guardians are currently in there,
and the Rangers are lurking a little bit.
I guess of those teams confidence-wise,
what are you feeling?
And we should precursor all of this with...
We're talking about probably the most unpredictable sport.
Like, literally, either one of those four teams
could literally go 13 and 4,
and then they have a buy-in to the playoffs.
So I don't want us going through all these conversations
being like, anything can happen, but when you look at these teams, what sparks anything in you?
I think the White Sox are going to win the A.L. Central. I think they're going to end up having that number two seed.
I do. They have one more series against Cleveland. That's about in a week, or a little less than a week, actually.
And if they win one of those games, they clinch the tiebreaker between them. So the head-to-head season record.
And to me, already with, what's their lead right now?
Is it a couple games up?
I'm getting it up right now.
On Cleveland, it's two games.
Two games up with a chance to have that tiebreaker.
I don't know, just the way they play and just, I felt it all season long that they're, they're able to withstand some of the pressure.
I don't know.
That's what it seems like to me.
Like, they almost like that.
They're into that.
Cleveland clearly a team
they can get the job done. I mean, last night
it's more of
the same for them. Rokio kind of
breaks the game open. Travis Bazon against
a big two out hit against the Orioles. They
have guys. It's the same story
for Cleveland just a little bit better pitching.
Would it surprise me if they
got really close and
gave the White Sox or run for the money?
No, not at all. But I do think
the White Sox end up winning that. And
if you want to go into the wild card,
I think Cleveland ends up taking that as well.
I just I think we're seeing a team that's kind of hitting a strike.
Jose Ramirez hasn't been like even like really himself since he's came back.
If that if that if he continues in the right path and almost like what you guys are doing with Judge,
like you get that type of player back who means that much to your team and kind of what the complimentary pieces have been doing with them,
I think those two teams end up doing it.
So that means in the AL West, it's like who's going who's going to win that.
I know a lot of people push back and say, hey, Texas has got a real shot at the second wild
or the third wild card because, you know, the tiebreakers, Cleveland basically has none of them.
But I just think watching these teams all season long, the formula for the White Sox and the Guardians
is, is there a little bit more than some of these other teams.
A couple things that jump out to me with the White Sox.
I agree with you.
The couple times they've run into tests this year, they've passed the test.
and that should mean something.
I know their pitching can be a little bit intimidating
because, you know, I think they're starting pitching
had a war of zero in August, which not what you want.
And people were thinking it was going to run out,
and it's running on empty a little bit.
That being said, a couple things I really like about the White Sox.
And I haven't been the highest on White Sox.
White Sox fans have been a little mad at me because I also,
I mean, I live in fear of the Guardians.
I do it every preseason that I'm like,
okay, the Guardian's over under 78 and a half,
but guess what?
They're probably going to win the Central with 86 wins.
And there's still a path for that.
And I think the other thing that lurks too much in my head
is that as far as a postseason series goes,
Cleveland is set up.
I mean, if you went through the years,
you know, they've always been able to put forward some sort of pitching.
I mean, even in the talk in baseball era,
as a lot of the scribes of baseball quote,
you know, if you go back to even Klobber and Bauer,
like they've been able to put together that top of the rotation.
The hitting's always the fear, which September 9th,
look at the Guardians team stats, 29th in OPS,
28th and runs, 29th in homers, like,
we've ended up here again.
There is something to be said about Messick and Gavin Williams.
Their bullpen can shove, dude.
Kate Smith, Gaddis, Sobrowski,
and they got layers after that that
their lineup even has more juice.
I've given this speech before.
The two, no, I am setting this up with a classic Lee Corso,
however, although that would be Stephen A. Smith.
Not so fast, my friend, would be Lee.
RIP.
What a legend.
Is he dead?
I don't know.
I don't know.
You're, oh, God.
Get to your point.
Lee Corso.
I think he's alive.
Yeah, that's fantastic news.
Hell yeah, that's a great, that's a great thing for us.
Okay, shout out Lee Corso.
You won't be in 10 years, but it's whatever.
Listed 5'6.
What I'm saying is, as I look at these team stats, a couple that jumped out.
The Chicago White Sox, 30 and 36 against teams over 500.
Not great, but in the realm of baseball, it's also not jarring.
Like, normally good teams end up around 500, great teams end up a little above
that. The Cleveland Guard Dogs are 22 and 36 against teams over 500. That's, that's just not it.
There's some run differential. I get that they're the Guardians. I get that Stephen Vote.
I get how that franchise has been set up. As I sit here today, I just think the White Sox have
done enough. Like you said, if they win one game in that series, they get the tiebreaker that turns a two-game
lead into a three game lead.
The White Sox deserve
more respect. It is scary
where they stand right now.
We're on schedule watch too,
Pop, and the White Sox
have a much easier schedule
down. And let me tell you, I mean
ask you this, what's my favorite holiday?
Fourth of July. Okay.
Who has been in the lead
in the Yale Central since the 4th of July?
Ben Franklin.
Just about.
Chicago White Sox. Yeah. Yeah. You nailed
it right there. So that's a pretty
decent chunk of change of the season where you're on top of the division
and again, like you've handled your business, especially against the AL Central.
If I'm looking at these two teams on paper,
I think I do,
I think I choose Cleveland just because of that starting rotation,
what Chase DeLotter has been able to do and you expect Jose Ramirez to kind of come back
around and then it's the complimentary pieces around.
You just know how Cleveland freaking operates.
But we've just seen the White Sox be able, like you said,
to withstand any of the punches thrown.
They win series.
They got guys that can hit homers.
I think that matters, especially come postseason time.
So, again, I think I said it May 29th with Chris Rose,
the Chicago was going to win the ALE Central,
and I believe they will.
And then I believe Cleveland gets in that third wildcard spot.
And this is the most we've spent talking about the ALE Central all year long.
That's not true.
The problem is we normally get caught talking about
the twins for 11 minutes.
And hey, that 13 and 4.
Excuse me.
13 and 4.
They can do it.
They sure can.
Sure can.
Am I the only twins fan in the national media?
I think that's what we are.
National media space.
69 and 76.
Yes.
As I'm wearing a Christian yellow shirt.
Donaldson.
Former twin.
Yeah.
Yeah, he wore my number, too.
Oh, careful with that one.
I think Jim's think, I think they're trying to set it up that Jim goes on there for a little bit, which that that would be a real treat.
That would be a real treat.
Jimmy is, people don't realize how smart Jimmy is.
Almost too smart.
No how maxing has become a thing.
Like the youths are just throwing like aura maxing or like, you're like, you're like, you.
like, Jimmy's maxing right now.
He's, he's finding, like, a new evolution of himself.
Gandalf the Grey, I don't know what it is, but he's like...
Well, yeah, you think he's turning into Gan off the white.
I think the Achilles injury sent him into a new, just like realm.
Like a new, a new shadow realm.
Okay, that was a little for you and me.
That being said, and Trev, this is where the AL is insane, and we've talked about this a ton.
Like, I guess what's happened is Houston's sitting here today at 74 and 71.
They're a game and a half out of that second seed, which would re-rack the whole top of the
AL bracket.
Like, basically we're lined up for an AL East, you know, pardon my French, I'll say the words,
an AL East fuckfest.
It's looking like the Yankees and the Red Sox are going to meet in the wild card.
There's a chance the Yankees could catch the race.
Either way, all of that's going to end up.
on the same side of the bracket.
That's going to be the one, that's going to be the four and the five.
That I think those three ALE East and arguably three of the strongest teams in the
A.L.
Are going to meet up in the three-game wild card and then in the five-game DS.
On the other side of the bracket, Houston and the White Sox are currently competing for
that buy in the first round, which with Houston minus 37 run differential and just
one of the worst pitching all years,
but here they are with the MVP
and Miles and Miles
of Heart and Jim Crane running things.
Like that whole part of the...
You just fired your GM
in the middle of a freaking playoff race.
That's ownership, man.
I don't know.
You set it in there that you think
you still like Cleveland as the final
wildcar team, which that would be holding off Toronto.
That would be holding off Texas
and the 13 and 4 twins.
Are you viewing Houston any differently?
Because they've been, I don't want to say it's been a shrug all year, but the A.L. West has been disgusting.
And, I mean, Houston's pitching, as I get myself excited about Cleveland throwing Gavin Williams and Cantillo and Messick and their bullpen,
Houston's the opposite outside of Hater and Abrae.
they got a couple starters there that they can rely on but yes i mean i think that they're in that
sort of recipe where we haven't even really talked about your don and you know the triple crown
and mbp like i think people are just like assuming that he's just going to win the MVP because i
don't know who else you're going to give it to in the al which is kind of kind of crazy
for being honest like how many times is a dh1 MVP is it zero oh a primary dh um it's a good
question.
Like almost positive at zero?
Yeah, Ortiz hasn't gotten one.
Because you can't, you can't, I don't think Edgar Martinez ever got one.
I don't think Shohei, you can't count him as a primary age because he pitches.
So it's like, it's a very interesting thing.
So you have, look, you have the offense too to get it going.
I think that people maybe dismiss it.
It hasn't been as consistent as maybe some of the elite offenses in the league.
But, you know, at any given moment, like last night, Christian Walker, massive Homer.
Like up and down the lineup, there's guys.
what Jeremy Pena has been able to do this year.
Issaic Paredes has been kind of like
who exactly who they expected to be.
So like they have the offense to get it done.
I do think like end of games has been lights out for them.
So that's a recipe for success.
Like go out and get that lead short in the game as best you can.
It is like if we're being on.
I'm searching for words to be like, yeah,
Houston's going to do it.
That's just my,
that's just like the feeling I get.
But there's like concrete stats that yeah,
they're definitely into it.
don't exist because it's baseball and the race is just so so damn close and we've seen we've seen
kind of a little bit of back and forth especially in this division that i don't have a great
pulse on how it's all going to finish up in my mind i just i just i have houston having a little bit
more of a recipe to get the job done yeah and i hey hunter brown has has kicked into gear a little bit
Hayden Wissnski from the top rope.
I guess it does feel a little,
I shouldn't say foolish because that feels a little dramatic,
but as we start hopping over to the NL,
and this is with all due respect to Hunter Brown,
Hayton was Nesky, Peter Lambert,
but like when we start talking Dodgers or Phillies
or even my Yankees,
like if there's anything they do have,
it's that high-end pitching that,
I don't know, it feels like this October is building
up for a little bit of teams
like a gunfight versus a knife fight
that some of these flawed teams
we're talking about the guardians being a bottom two offense
we're talking about Houston starting pitching
being a bottom two starting pitching
like that's that's not what
like playoff baseball teams are supposed to be
you want to start talking about the AL
and how they don't match up against the NL?
I'm saying that some of these AL
teams I don't think they match up
against each other.
It seems that way right now.
Again, I think that people forget, and we're so close to getting it,
but people forget how paired down pitching staffs get in the postseason,
and how it becomes less of a depth game and more of a like,
do you have three starters and a back end of a bullpen?
You're going to ride those guys.
That's what you're going to do.
So I think some of those questions end up getting like thrown away once the playoffs start.
So getting there, yeah, we're still questioning depth and starting pitching and, you know, what's your offense going to do?
But I think for the AL, I think a lot of those questions get, like I said, just kind of get pushed to the side because, okay, we can pair our pitching down enough.
Then it becomes like, okay, like, let's see what happens.
So if I'm using my big sports brain here,
I don't just put like, oh, yeah, the NL is going to just run through the AL.
I don't think it's going to happen.
And I don't think it would happen.
Even if you somehow had like intermixed during the playoffs and then we just like receded everyone.
I don't think it would happen.
Again, I just, it's, it's, playoffs come and it's a different thing.
I almost called you Chris.
Yeah, you almost did.
I mean, this is a little baseball todayish.
It's a little baseball todayish.
I was just going to Chris Rose you too.
Now I need to stay away from that.
Do any of the playoff stuff,
like reformatting, receding,
does any of that appeal to you?
Like after each round?
Yeah.
Not really.
Okay.
I think people,
you kind of play for your seat as you,
as you throughout the season.
So, like, changing it up.
And I guess who would that benefit going forward?
Well, and again, the timing of this is interesting.
I guess I can bring the Red Sox into it.
in the AL
the top three teams are in the AL
Yeah so you'd go
So you'd have those
Top two get a buy and the third one
host
It's not the craziest thing
Like I
Or are you saying
Because to me receding means like after the first round
Like your seating gets set
From the playoffs and after the first round
I'm kind of with you on that
I don't know if this is just me being
Because why else have divisions
A simple fella
But when the bracket's set
I like the bracket being set
Because that's kind of the whole thing, whether it's March Madness or whatever.
Does football reseed?
I think they do, right?
For home games, yeah.
It's just the higher seat.
Yeah, the same idea of straight bracket, yeah.
Okay, sports.
If Toronto or Texas joins the party, do you still view them as more of a threat,
just payroll, kind of recent history?
I mean, we got, what was it, two of the last three American League champs?
a really funny way to phrase that.
Oh my gosh, you're totally right.
What's the question there again?
If they join the party,
whether it's the Blue Jays as the final wildcard team,
which would mean they would play either like Houston
or the White Sox in a three-game playoff,
or the Texas Rangers,
and this one's just a little bit for me
because they've just been tantalizing on paper
between the high-end pitching.
You talk about them shortening their bullpen.
I think that would be a team that would benefit from that.
and still there's star power in that lineup between Seeger or like Jack Peterson,
what Duran's done this year, Nimmo.
I guess for me, my answer is yes.
Like if I see Texas in the playoffs, I'm going to sell myself on it.
I think with kind of where we're at and some of like the injuries and whatnot between those two teams,
I would say Texas has a better shot at kind of getting it.
at least through the wild card around.
Like those three games, the way they can possibly,
if they can line up their pitching to have their studs throw,
I think that's where they take the advantage over the Toronto Blue Jays.
Man, they've got a little bit.
They got Arizona, Boston, and Toronto coming up.
Those central teams have some light schedules the rest of the way,
depending how you view the twins.
Let's get away from the American League because that's a little icky.
Today's episode is sponsored by booking.com.
Booking dot, yeah, an official travel partner of MLB.
Booking.com makes it easy for every baseball fan to travel and catch a game,
wherever the team's schedule takes them.
A playoff game, a weekend series, even a random Tuesday in a city you never been to.
It all counts.
The thing about following baseball is that every ballpark comes with a whole city worth exploring.
The neighborhood that turns into a tailgate before the first pitch.
The food spots locals go to and the streets that buzz a little different.
on game day. Every stadium has its own version of that, and booking.com makes it easy to find
a great hotel or vacation home right in the middle of it, wherever that happens to be.
Once somewhere gets in your head, go on and book that trip, it's easy. The easiest way,
from where you are to where you want to be, booking.com, booking dot, yeah, an official travel
partner of MLB, Major League Baseball trademarks used with permission. Let's do some NL ball, coach.
And I guess
I don't know
For myself
Let's start with the big dogs
The Brewers
I think they won their 90th game last night
Because Pat Murphy put an arm around Luis Lara
And told them the meaning of life
And the Brewers just win
What is that?
It's fun to have people
Like Luis Lara won like their best defensive player
Of the year like minor leagues
Or maybe that was like
Across all of the minor leagues
He's
been hailed as like a great defender.
Right.
It's nice when guys that are hailed to do something, come up and do it.
Yeah.
Like a couple years ago when I said that who was the guy that was in the outfield for the Phillies?
I said he doesn't have a great catch.
Oh, it wasn't Paschay.
I forget who it was.
Anyways, that's a clip of mine that went viral.
Luis Laura is going to do that.
same thing for Milwaukee.
Like he's going to have a massive catch that's going to save some runs that's going to
help them win a game that's going to help them propel them to go on further into the
post season.
Like that's just,
that's going to happen.
Like get ready for that.
Johann Rojas.
Johann Rojas.
And it was like we kind of like made it seem like it was a better catch than it was,
but whatever.
That's a good catch.
That's a good catch.
That's a big catch and a big game.
Louis Lora doesn't give a shit.
No.
Out there with the wall.
He's very cat-like out there.
He's running up.
He's always finding his body in the right position.
I don't know, man.
He's a ton of fun.
The brewers are nasty, dude.
So NL bracket-wise right now,
there's Pat Murphy coaching him up.
Go win the game.
Last night's game, real quick.
McGill gives it up.
Bases loaded, ball off of the wall.
Any other team,
scores all three of those runs.
But because they're the freaking brewers,
like the hop goes right to Mitchell,
he gets the ball in, they score two.
Like any other team,
they're scoring three runs right there,
and that's a completely different ball game
going into the bottom instead.
Trio comes up, that's his thing.
Laura comes up and does it.
I don't know, man.
They feel different this year.
I know we talk about the Brewers a lot.
Oh, they don't hit homers.
I don't give a shit.
You know what's different about the Brewer's?
Roos this year?
Jacob Mizorowski.
Yeah.
He wasn't this guy last year.
That's pretty good to have, right?
You like that?
Yeah, I mean, you would say his numbers in the playoffs,
Ms. did bring it last year.
But I understand what you're saying.
I think just as an organization, it felt like,
it felt like last year was their,
this is a fun phrase.
Last year was there established their dominance year.
Like, this is what we do.
it works and we're going to whoop you i mean dude we were doing it all year like is this going to work
in the postseason and they ran into the big bad wolf and it did not work so if they get there
both teams involved in that equation i mean you're gonna you want to talk about a nervey game one
like if if the brewers were to play the dodgers and the brewers just lay down that's gonna be
that's gonna be dark man that's gonna be dark uh because that's kind of what they've been playing
all year.
They've had some tough
October's recently.
Like going back to Trent Grisham,
going back to
Pete Alonzo,
and then just getting
basically no hit the entire time
against the Dodgers.
That's, oh.
It's tough.
They're going to have to debunk
that a little bit. And if they keep
riding in the playoffs as the one
seed, at some point it's going to work.
Although, I mean,
this is where the NL is crazy right now.
So the Braves and the Dodgers are still kind of competing for that two seed,
although the Dodgers, six-game winner, if you haven't noticed,
they could come and get that one seed.
Right now, the two-seed seems a little more appealing.
As we do it today, the two A-teams, Arizona and Atlanta,
are your six-and-three-seed.
So they would go on and face the two, Arizona and San Diego,
competing for that last spot.
We'll talk about that.
As of a week ago, if you asked me,
I thought the Braves were still competing for one of the buys.
I think the Dodgers want it.
I think the Brewers want it.
I think it might be game.
That now in the bottom...
You think that that race is already over.
I do.
I do.
And you know I'm a believer.
Is it three games now for them?
It's three games that the Dodgers are up on the Braves.
maybe you're right. And I guess for me, although I do believe the Braves have the tiebreaker,
so that it is that time of year. I just, this is going to sound obnoxious. I guess you can call me out on it.
Like, when's the last time the Dodgers got hot, hot? Like, when's the last time we sat down for a talking baseball
is like, you know, the Dodgers have won 11 to 13. Like, the Dodgers are out of their mind.
I feel like we haven't seen that. I think that's happening right now.
now. You put me on the spot
here a little bit. So like let's just call it
yeah, like
ran off 10 of
12 or something like that. I'll get
in there. I'll find us a good split.
But that's what I'm...
It must have been early on the season because I don't remember it
as of late. And this is a Dodgers team
that's almost on track for
you know, 100 wins. I guess
you could go back to from
August 8th
through the 23rd,
one, two, three, four,
five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven.
They went eleven and five, eleven and four.
So that's, we would consider that a hot streak.
That's a good run.
That ended with six straight wins, and then they lost three straight games.
So, yeah, I don't know.
I feel like we do this every year that as we get to the final part of the season,
my Yankees did it last year.
They were trying to chase Toronto for that one seed,
and they were just winning games.
I think they finished the season when in eight in a row, something like that.
Like their September was really good.
I could see the Dodgers, you know, now that their rotation is starting to line up,
now that you're also running into teams that their season's over,
that I'm not saying, you know, everyone's professional out there,
but you could speak to this, Trev.
There's some teams that are eyeing, you know, September 28th a little differently
as the start of their offseason.
that I think when you're one of those powerhouse teams
and you're playing for something
or you got that momentum building,
teams start racking up wins.
I think the Brewers or the Dodgers are going to win 100 games.
I think they're going to come hard down the stretch.
Okay.
Okay.
If we're talking buys and who needs it the most,
I think if we're talking Dodgers, Brewers, Braves,
it's the Braves.
To be able to line up your pitching for them,
I think is most important.
Bryce Elder just is about to have some scope on his knee,
I believe,
and they're hoping that it gets them back for October,
which is kind of crazy to think about.
Because you don't do it now unless you're like,
yeah, we want him back for October.
You try to keep pitching through it, I guess.
But it's the Braves.
Dodgers don't need to line up their pitching.
That's the crazy thing about them.
They're like, yeah, we have pretty much five aces right now
that we can throw out there that we're like,
all right, who really cares what's going on.
And the brewers are going to get it, as we've mentioned.
Like, they're already there.
So I think the Braves, man, like, they,
whatever they can do to get that number two seed,
they obviously were going to try to do it.
Yeah, I agree with you.
I just don't think it's going to happen for that.
I didn't know it was a three-game gap.
I thought it was closer than that.
Man, and it just, I know everyone knows.
Or if you're listening to this show, you probably know.
but, dude, that rotation every day, like, it's scoble,
snell, glass, now, she and Yamamoto, scubel, glass, now,
like, not only are you showing up every day with a chance to win,
but, like, there's a chance your pitcher goes six innings,
no earn runs, double-digit strikeouts.
And meanwhile, yeah, I mean, yes, you,
you're going to get a chance to win pretty much every single game
through the first part of the game.
And for the Braes, it's Sale, Malley, Holmes, and Martine Perez.
You know, it's a little different.
Not that those guys can't get the job done.
That's a little different than who you just thought.
And I don't even think that you don't go a five-man rotation.
I don't think Sheehan's part of that.
So I think it's, you know, you have those four guys and you rotate through that.
And sheen, if he needs to come, like, mop something up or whatever.
Throw them in the back of him or Seth Halverson, one of you's in the club,
point of views out.
Eric Lauer might eat some meanings up at some point.
Oh, I think, didn't he get banged up?
Did he get banged up?
Yeah, some elbow.
It's okay because they...
Here's what we have as far as,
to stay on this real quick and maybe we'll move on,
it's the Braves, what they've done since 2022.
They had to buy.
They lost in the NLDS,
then they had the one seed lost in the NLDS,
and they had the five seed they lost in the wild card,
And then last year, they did not make in playoffs.
And I guess the good thing for them, if they end up in the wild card, which I think they're going to,
they would face San Diego or Arizona.
Like the NLs pretty much wrapped outside of that.
I don't know, West Coast team coming east.
You do have Chris Sale for a day.
part of the appeal for the Braves team, especially when they're rolling.
Dude, you talk about how playoffs get tight.
Like, the only guys who might get the ball out of their bullpen are Dodd, Fuentes,
Lee, and Riesel.
And if they can get one or two of the other bodies back,
I think Rinaldo Lopez is supposed to come back for them.
Like, their playoff formula when you actually break it down could become
pitching-wise filthy.
And when the Braves are right, it's still Harris, Akuna,
Olson, Baldwin.
Yes.
Riley.
Like, come on.
Come on, big guy.
He sent some big knocks lately.
Yeah, that big triple.
Yeah.
Right center.
Hey, that's when you know you're right, Jake.
It's always my power alley.
Yeah.
Don't be a 70-30, yeah.
Just wasn't enough power.
I guess the other one in the NL that adult highlighted as maybe the topic that's not
getting discussed enough.
The four and five seed between the Cubs and the Phillies.
And again, we talk a lot of ball, so it's not like we've missed this one on the way through.
But say the Braves hold off the Phillies, which, you know, anything's possible.
They're still in that same Yankees chasing the race.
A couple of the other, a couple of the divisions are at four games,
which with 18 days left, it gets tight quick.
The Phillies and the Cubs, two teams that are like built for now, like, this is our go time.
I guess the Phillies have been in that window a little longer as the Cubs are here now.
I mean, two of the more fun teams, dude, like you, if you know, if you kind of casually know ball,
you see, I mean, Dan's be pregnant, guys on that left side, like PCA's become a star of the league,
the Phillies we've known all these guys for years now.
How much do you think home field matters there?
Because these teams are separated by a half game right now.
I mean, yeah, honestly, I don't think it.
matters. I think historically it's been proven
that it doesn't matter. Like we want
to like talk it up like hell yeah
brother like Wrigley's
gonna be popping or citizens
bank's going to go out. I don't think it necessarily
matters. I don't.
Cubs own the tiebreaker over Philly
so you have to like
that.
I
this is just kind of
wide ranging thoughts right now. I do
think the like we're going to get
maybe the best October baseball in the wildcard rounds.
Like if it does end up being Yankees,
Red Sox and Phillies Couts,
which it seems like that's what we're going to get.
Like that to me,
I don't know.
Like I don't know other matchups that are going to get better than that.
I mean,
there's other good ones,
but that's going to be fantastic for the sport of baseball.
That's going to start the playoffs off.
That's starting off with a bang.
That's incredible right there.
I think if I had to pick between,
those too. I know your team's involved, so you're kind of
out on this. Like, Philly's Cubs
is going to be awesome.
Like, that is
to me
because of the way PCA has played
and put himself on the map. And then we know the
Phillies and they have Harper and Schwerber
such great, like,
talents that everyone is going to, are going to want to watch.
There's more like stop and what and like
you have to watch this at bat.
You have to watch this matchup.
Like, there's more of that in that series,
in my opinion. Schwabrever versus the Cub?
So good.
That's got some heartstrings to it.
Bryce trying to like cement himself as like, you know, like, like, uh, the guy.
Man.
Bryce looking at PCA and being a little jealous.
Like that's fun.
Oh.
That's fun.
Don't throw out the jealous word.
Oh, is that just me?
I think you're jealous of both of those guys.
Yeah.
I think Bryce is pretty happy with what he was.
They're actually both personal friends of mine.
So that's nice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Do you think Bryce Harper would say that?
No.
I think Pete would.
Yeah, he would be like, yeah, Trez my guy.
I think Harper would be like, yes, I know Trevor.

I kind of agree with you.
Homefield and sports, I think, has gotten to be less of a thing.
Oh, why?
I mean, the places are shrew, they're rowdy.
It's awesome.
The fans are there.
It just, I think statistically hasn't really been like that big of a deal,
especially in baseball.
Yeah, I wonder if there's science behind it.
I don't really, I don't know.
especially over like a three-game set.
Three games.
Oh, get on the sticks.
You know,
get the AI guys that are going to kill us in 10 years.
Get them on that.
See what the home field advantage is done
in the wildcard rounds.
There's got to be an answer out there.
The Cubs and the Phillies are going to come down
to 18 innings of baseball,
hopefully 27 with their season on the line.
I mean, the way the Phillies have been throwing the ball.
Yeah, dude.
Some of the Lazzardo numbers.
are out of control.
I know, dude.
And the Cubs who have built this team,
they're just like,
it's like they can't catch a break, dude.
All of a sudden, Milwaukee,
you got your manager saying that we're miles apart
and it's held true between those two teams in that division.
Then all of a sudden, the Phillies have just gotten so hot,
played so well.
Alec Bome out of nowhere is raking.
I mean, I don't know, man.
The Cubs are like,
We're good too, though.
Like, we're a really good team.
They are.
And they...
I've always liked the professional...
Professionalism in their lineup, top to bottom.
Alex Bregman.
Ian Hap.
I mean, those guys...
That's it for me.
Oh, you stop that.
Peter...
Sayia Suzuki's professional.
Sayya.
Bush. Horn dog?
The horn dog.
Come on, man.
No, I love...
You know I love...
love their lineup. Come on. Lazzardo's out of his dome.
Him Wheeler, Sanchez.
God, it's going to be a fun October.
Any Padres D. Beck's thoughts. That's obvious.
Clay Holmes? What the hell?
Clay Holmes is a dog.
What the hell?
Roll it over to that left side and see if Braggie and Dansby get there because they will.
That's it.
Oh, my gosh.
That's it.
Arizona and San Diego.
Arizona with the edge right now, four-game win streak.
You know who took the pill for them last night, coach?
Corbyn freaking Burns.
I was trying to DMM on IG to say, hey, welcome back, big guy,
like great to see you, like, I'm stoked for you, whatever.
I think he doesn't have an Instagram anymore.
Wow, a little zero dark 30 going on.
Yeah, I think he went dark.
Good for him.
Yeah, kind of like that.
Kind of like that.
Do we need to do that?
Definitely.
In solidarity with Corbyn Burns, delete.
Bro, Instagram Reels have tuned up the algorithm a little bit that I've been getting sucked in there.
Normally not a big Doom Scroll guy.
Like normally my Instagram, it's just catching up with the people like I follow and I want to see their stuff.
I've been just getting caught on that explore page.
You've been seeing some of it.
I mean.
Yeah, you've been sending you some stuff.
Usually I send you the one like lyrics, the songs that have like.
Learning with lyrics.
Yeah.
I've shared that with a few people.
It's a good page.
It's a good page.
Um, know what it was. I got out of animal content for a while just because I was like,
this is kind of brain rot. And now I'm back in it. I just,
animal content is awesome. It's amazing. I mean, I got a lot of fishing, a lot of spear
fishing, which I don't even like spear fishing, but it keeps, they keep sending me these guys
just shooting fish. I literally, I mean, I just opened it up. There's a cow like in the trough
just laying down and eating. And it's like, I kind of enjoy that. That's probably AI, dude.
That's not AI, bro. I'm not a sheeple. There's a two can.
eating cookies.
It's a donut.
San Diego, Arizona,
we were on it and then we kind of got away from it.
What do I got there?
I mean, we've said this already.
It's coming down in the last three games.
And so, like, we're going to get the playoffs before the playoffs.
Is that the most exciting situation?
Because they're going to play each other that final week,
their division rivals, I think so too.
And which is, you know, like,
the way the schedule lines up and you're trying to hold on,
like, can you try to push a pitcher back for that series?
Like, is there a way to do that?
I bet we'll see some fun shenanigans between these two teams,
but you've got to give credit to the freaking dining backs
for continuing to hang in there,
playing good ball.
They're like the National League guardians right now, in my opinion.
Like, they just kind of keep finding ways to win the bullpen.
Dalton Feeley had it first, people.
The way they've been able to, you know,
survive bullpen games,
get the outs at the end of regular started games,
has been incredible.
So got to give them credit.
I do think that that is going to be electric down there in San Diego.
And right now, according to our sheet,
Padres do not have a single tiebreaker,
which I don't think really matters,
because it's all just going to come down to that last series.
One team, yeah.
Yeah.
God, Dimebacks might have three guys in their lineup be five war players.
Carol Moreno and Pardomo,
whose his numbers on the season are starting to,
not the power swing, but the on base and what he does defensively.
Yeah, that's going to be our first actual playoffs.
That's it.
There's no other teams really in the fighting for that third wildcard spot.
Pittsburgh Jump Miami.
they're five and a half out.
So it's not happening.
So it's between those two teams.
And I guess, Jake,
what is the season series
at? I don't think we have it on a show. I'm going to get up real quick.
Season series between these two teams is
five and five.
Oh my God. Yeah.
Is that real?
I think that's real.
Yeah, they play 13 games. You're right.
Okay.
So.
Not only what you,
get not only whoever wins the series goes up, but also they'll have the tiebreaker, which is
basically like two games. Oh my gosh, dude. I'm just trying to think of scenarios where like it's
going to be just insane ball. Like obviously if it's tied, that matters. But if one team's up one
game and then you still win two out of three, you got to win three out of three. So if someone
goes in up one, the other team has to sweep. Yes. No.
that's not right
because the team
if you had a three
would have the tie break
matter more
yes
yeah
oh that's that's like
making my heart pound a little bit
we should
should we just go down
for those games
I mean there's an argument for it
me you Ryan Co
no no Ryan Coe doesn't get to go
I thought you were going to say Marshall
he'll be there
we can get him
how about Dalt
the Ryan Co. Dalton
live stream
gosh yeah they
have to be live stream. Me and Jake are going to go down there and get in the thick of it.
Yeah, we just need to be there kind of like when, you know, in ancient Rome, when the emperor
just shows up and on the sideline, that would be us. I don't think so.
The new ownership group. Oh. Yeah. Okay.
Get in with them. You like private equity.
Love PE is what I call it. I heard that the sports world is undervalued.
That's what private equity is thinking.
Let's go on. Actually, you and I, we could lose an hour on that, but a lot of teams selling recently.
What's that about?
I think it's the lockout. It's both.
It's teams, I don't want to get into it.
I think, okay, I will, though.
I think private equity is getting in thinking that eventually there's going to be a salary cap and these franchise values are going to double overnight.
And then the people that are getting out of the game are like, let's just capitalize.
right now because who knows how long this is going to last.
The Angels,
the Angels have basically been the worst organization in the sport
for eight to 15 years and they sold for the highest value of teams ever sold.
There's some caveats to that.
Sure.
Some real estate stuff.
Cronkies, he's a shrewd business man.
There is.
Your guy, Stan.
She got her newspaper.
Yeah, me and my friend Stan.
One time I went to a concert at SoFi,
we were in Stan's box thanks to my friend number nine.
Right.
And the perks of being an owner, we drove a car into the bowels of the stadium.
Oh, yeah, you told me about this.
This was pretty cool.
And we're just like driving through the tunnels in a car.
Nobody else is your parking spot.
I'm in the stadium.
We parked right next to the elevator, like literally right next to this elevator,
got on the elevator, and it went straight to the suite.
And it was a freaking like four suites combined at least.
least.
It's good to be an owner of a team.
It's good to own a team.
I've heard.
I've heard.
I don't know.
We've got a list of award and stat topic predictions.
Maybe Rob hits us with them and we do some quick hitters.
You and I are usually really bad at quick hitters.
Did, yeah, no,
did Rob, did you ever get the home field advantage?
The home field advantage, yes.
So from 2022 to 2025, the home team record is 17 and 20.
in 37 games.
The only winning year in the wild card was last year,
where they went three and one.
Interesting.
Gosh.
I don't think home field matters as much as he used to.
Okay.
Okay.
Rob, do you want to hit us with these?
Sure.
We are straight up yucking ball today.
That's what we do.
That's what it's all about.
All right.
Who do you guys think will be crowned?
fourth in the
NL Syung
race.
Three. Okay. Okay. Hold on.
Hold on. Okay.
I got to know who's the top three
is. Ms.
Is? Sale.
Sale.
Sanchez?
Sanchez, Yamamoto. Is Lazzardo in the mix?
Are you a Mason Miller guy?
Oh my gosh. I honestly
haven't kept up with Mason and like
I'm sure he's dominant.
Like where the overall numbers have landed.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh.
Okay.
I think I'm ready.
Three, two, one, Yamamo.
Case Burns.
Oh, okay.
Done.
Next.
All right.
Who is the best manager not named Pat Murphy?
Did you see that like page that came out about like managers and like what they've
done for their team, which I just don't believe at all?
Like none at all.
No offense to whoever put that list out.
They're offended.
It was like Don Maddingly like plus 17 wins.
And then I started thinking to myself,
shouldn't managers be getting paid like $100 million then?
Okay.
If they mattered, they don't.
I've said that on the show more than anything.
I think I have mine.
What was the question again?
Best manager not named Pat Murphy.
All right.
Give me a countdown.
Three, two, one.
Kevin Cash?
I like cash two votes.
Those are kind of easy answers, though.
Cash has been there for a while.
I mean, the other name that I wanted to let out,
but Cash deserves credit for what's gone in Tampa this year,
being the best team in the American League throughout.
Say Chad Tracy's name.
Okay, I will.
Tori Lavello.
Yeah, he's got, he's had to handle the shit this year.
I mean, come on, bro.
If they make the playoffs over San Diego.
You nailed it, coach.
You freaking nailed it.
You know, I know.
It's Lavello, yeah.
It's our guy, too.
Hot.
Next.
Who will be sixth in hits in the league this year?
What?
I don't know.
Right now, currently it's Luis Arae Lopez, Yandi Diaz, Yordan, PCA, and Chandler Simpson.
Pass.
I got 172 hits to 158.
Homer Simpson, next.
Okay.
Will Yudan win the triple crown?
Ooh.
So, okay, he is...
Okay, I had it up before.
Let me get it up for you.
Currently, wow.
Currently has it, right?
No.
He's behind Caminero and Homer's.
Oh, that's right.
Excuse me.
By the way, Junior Caminero.
Oh, my gosh, that was an absolute bomb.
Let me get this up.
What am I doing here?
What are you doing?
I think he's behind in two stats.
I think he's behind in runs.
driven in as well. Then he has the average five points over Chandler Simpson, which is just
awesome. Did Pete, Pete has him in RBI right now. Yeah, Pete has him and runs driven in.
That's Alonzo, not Crow Armstrong. He's got him by two. Camerneros got him by one homer, and then,
like I said, the batting average, he's above Chandler Simpson, just, I think it's five points.
Yeah, 311 to 307
I'll say no
We got too many guys
In too many categories
I think
Yes
Because I don't think he's getting any days off
And I think he's just gonna
He has the chance to go on an absolute run
I guess neither of those guys are going to get days off either
Between Tampa
Maybe Camerrero get some days off at the end
Big body
He's young
You're not getting days off
He doesn't need it at all.
I'll say yes.
I'm going to say yes.
Okay.
Will Christopher Sanchez or Sunny Gray reach 20 wins this year?
My sign young.
Sonny's got 17.
Christopher Sanchez has 16.
No.
Yeah, I don't think anyone cares.
That's sad.
It's sad.
People used to really love wins.
wins should matter.
I'm actually
I'm out on wins.
I think it's like that's stupid.
I get it and it makes...
We move the bar on quality starts as well.
It used to be six
six innings and two or less runs
and now it's three or less runs.
I think it's always been six and three.
I think it changed.
Look that up for us, Bobo.
As far as the wins thing go,
I just don't think that that
it's never mattered.
It's never mattered.
The only thing it matters
is it means you've gone over five innings,
which that shouldn't be the benchmark for win.
Five innings should be the benchmark
for a win?
No way, dude.
No, I think we've honestly done a good job with it.
Like those de Grom years
where he wasn't winning games,
but he was clearly pitching better than everyone.
Yeah, and think about that.
Your offense has to be there for you.
Quality start has not changed.
since 1985.
Maybe I just never knew what it was.
Just changed for you.
Maybe the twins held things to a higher standard.
I thought it was six and two.
And now it's always been six and three, huh?
No, yeah, because six and three has always been the one that's like, yeah, six and three.
I take it.
You take it.
And that's.
Every day.
That's why you got to draw a line.
That's, I mean.
It's a much better staff than wins.
Much better staff.
Yes, I agree.
I agree.
Jose Quintana had a couple quality start years.
Bailey O'er used to be Quality Start King.
Oh, nightmare.
A couple more.
Maybe not.
Will, maybe some Brewer's ones right here.
Will anybody pass Jacob Mizorowski in strikeouts?
No.
He's at 236.
Didn't it Gavin jump him the other day?
Gavin is at 228 right now.
Mizorowski's at 236.
Yeah.
I mean, I guess we might see some shut down type stuff with him.
Right.
Yeah.
Gavin Williams can strike out like 15 people a game.
And I'll tell you whose body doesn't need to be shut down, Gavin Williams.
There's a lot of mass and gas in that bad place.
So eight strikeouts?
And then there's Dylan C's also just kind of creep in there.
He's got only nine strikeouts to it.
Williams, yeah.
I'll say one of them gets them.
Yeah, me too, actually.
I'll change my tune because I do think Mizorowski,
they're going to try to shorten his outings as much as possible.
Yeah.
Do you think the Brewers will reach 100 wins?
Currently 10 wins away, 16 games to go.
10 and 6? Yeah.
Yes.
God, that'll be amazing if they're the only team to get there.
I think the Dodgers are still going to get there.
I think they hit their go button.
I will say
the brewers do not.
I don't think any team gets 200 wins.
Hey, with football back this week,
our very own Justin Penick is here
bringing every Giants fan through the upcoming season.
Be sure to check out Talking Giants
every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
going over all things Giants all season long.
Let's do another check-in.
It's our over-under totals from the year.
Going back to February when we start doing these,
When we pick them, we do our team profile and projections.
Our team over-under totals.
Coach Trev, you're currently sitting pretty.
You've got, you and I, you have eight right.
I have seven right already, like, done, sealed.
We got the over, the under, it can't change.
You still have 11 on track right now,
which has you on pace for 19 out of 30.
Pretty dang good.
I'm on pace for 16.
That's kind of league average, but it's also not easy people.
And then there's a couple off-track borderline ones.
We'll see how Pittsburgh comes down the stretch.
I think the Phillies is one of the tightest ones.
You and I are on the other side of 91.5 on that one.
They need to win 11 out of 17.
Your twins could make it interesting.
The Reds are going to get there.
Stop.
Twins are going to get their.
Red Sox, we're both on the over four.
They need to go above 500 the rest of the way.
I guess as you look back at these,
maybe your proudest one and your most disappointing one.
Well, I think our two easiest every single year are the Guardians and the Brewers,
which we're like,
Brewers need to win six.
Excuse me, the Guardians need to win six of 16.
The Brewers have already clinched it.
They won 90 games or over under.
It was 84 and a half.
We talked about that in the show before.
my favorite one that I put in here
other than that
I like the Dodgers under
102 and a half
I just think it's really hard to win 100 games
and obviously they've done it before
but I think if
anybody that gets listed that high
I'm taking the under almost every single year
the regular season has
been an interesting thing
and I think the teams
teams
they look at the regular season differently now
than they used to maybe so I like that one
I think both of us like the
white socks they've already clinched that but 66
and a half to us was like that kind of seems like a no-brainer
they made a bunch of adjustments some of the kids were getting hot
so we like the offseason they had that was a good one for us
and then the over the over on the Atlanta Braves I think
was a good I think a lot of people were down on them
I've been missing the playoffs, but it seemed to me like it was going to be a bounce back year,
and they need to win four of the last 17 to be over that 88 and a half number.
Yeah, it's always funny looking back on these.
We actually did really well on the bad teams,
and that's where you've got to play the over-under game.
I mean, the White Sox, the Rockies, easily cleared their over.
A proud one for me that you and I were different on was the Marlins.
They need one more win to get their over for the year.
And then, yeah, my other one was the Mets.
I was the guy kind of fading it at the start of the season.
You did fade it big time.
I can't believe that I chose over 90 and a half.
90 and a half.
And they aren't going to come close to that.
Although they did just get fourth place in the NL East.
They caught the Nattie.
Yeah.
What did we do on the natties, baby?
Oh, you know I love me some natties.
We had the under.
They've clinched the over.
They were strong.
Really? We took the under on that.
Man, we looked at that roster and we were a little shook at.
You convinced me of that. You're always a Washington hater.
We both got the underwrite on Toronto.
You know, we'll probably do a final circle up at some point.
But it's looking like Coach Trev.
It's the year of Coach Trev. It always has been.
Didn't I won the trade draft?
Si Young draft check in real quick for people
who haven't seen our Sai Young picks
It's about as bad as it can get
I think the only one that's going to receive
Any Sai Young votes on the entire thing was
Christopher Sanchez
Me and Eno
Are in a competition
Christopher Sanchez versus Yamamoto
I think basically
I think Scoobo will get like a few votes
I think in the NL
I don't think he will
Which is weird.
I don't really understand how all that works.
He is eligible for the NL, though.
I think Eno, it's looking like Eno's going to get the knot.
I believe he has Chase Burns as well.
So depending how the points come out,
but we did so, like no Mizorowski, no Schlitler.
It's, well, you know,
this is going to be a graphic that, like, haunts us.
People need to remember, like, what Mizorowski was thought of coming into the,
yes, special arm talent, yes, Milwaukee Brewers.
Like, if you look back in hindsight,
It's like that was this, like, that's the clearest case for like a Cy Young jump.
McLean might get you a couple points.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And it's tough.
Freed was hurt for a little bit.
My guy Joe Ryan was hurt for a little bit.
Logan Webb's, he, I don't know, yeah.
McLean might not.
Yeah, it's not easy.
If you can predict baseball, make yourself a lot of money.
Speaking of something adjacent to that, because.
It is Wednesday.
You know it's time to look at some of the future baseball markets,
presented by Fanatic Sports and Casino, where we look at a couple games.
Where we're going, Trev, we already kind of looked at this one.
Chicago, Milwaukee.
We mentioned some of the drama last night.
Kevin Gossman fighting to get that pill for Chicago.
He takes on Logan Henderson, who, you know, just by some numbers,
is one of the best young pitchers to ever play.
What else are you looking for out there?
These guys just smashed up the last time they played six days ago.
And both pitched really, really well.
Gossmann went seven innings pitch one and run,
and Henderson went sevenings pitch with two earned runs.
So I guess usually you'd favor the hitters if you face this guy a second time in less than a week.
But the way that these guys have been throwing the ball that maybe you expect a low-scoring affair here.
Trev, something to add to our binder when we take over Minnesota.
Brewers are batting 271 with runners on base this season.
That's the best in the NL.
Oh, I like that, yeah.
Sometimes batting average can be good.
Get some knocks.
With guys on.
The other team hates that.
Oh, my favorite stat is two-out runners-score position.
I mean, that's just a backbreaker.
The other one we're checking in on, Trev.
Chris Rose's.
guards. Foster Griffin, remember? Part of the reason the Nats hit that over.
Hasn't allowed a home run in his last three starts as he's joined his new club.
Face in the Wizard of Boss and Kobe Mayo loves to see a lefty on the bump.
Kobe Mayo has one of the, I don't want to say it's the prettiest swings, but I like watching him hit Homer.
It's like when he connects when he's Big Boy, kind of has a nice fluidity to it.
Love that for them. The Orioles have been hitting Homer.
Look out for that over the last 30 days.
They're fifth in homers with 37,
but they haven't been doing much other than that
as far as getting on base.
They're 27 and on base percentage, but they have been
hitting those homers.
And I mentioned earlier on in the episode
how good Chase DeLotter has been this year. I think he's
getting overlooked a ton.
He's hitting 294 on the road, which is
5th, or excuse me, 20th best, almost
all major league hitters.
Kobe Mayo, one of those
big old Troy Gloss type
bodies. Yeah, he's going to get
thick too, like a thick color of me out and be fun. Yeah.
Mm-hmm. Mm.
It's kind of skinny now.

A sports hater

We don't have to put each other down
Nine
Trev
I had a
Fantasy draft
People love hearing about
Other people's fantasy draft
That's what I've heard
Yeah
One guy is won the league
Two years in a row
Oh
And he
And he's
He does our community plays
Like so we have like a community center
Where they do play
right. And he was the guy in Hamilton, the king. Who's the king in Hamilton? I forget.
Oh, wow. But he played that guy.
On your theater stage? Yes. Okay.
So my fantasy football name is what? King George III. King Slayer.
Hmm. Someone's got to.
Exactly. That guy.
Oh, whoa. I should have done theater. Shout out, Patty Finn.
We will see you guys on Friday.
We need to recap that bet.
We missed the recap that this weekend.
There was so much going on.
So bad.
I feel lost.
I watched so much baseball over the weekend all for like kind of not.
Arnold Lekunia Jr.
Ruffling some feathers in Philadelphia.
Second longest homer of the weekend.
Yeah.
He's kind of a baller, huh?
DCA 4040.
Mm.
