Starting point is 00:00:01 Hello and welcome to Talking Baseball. Dylan Sees, 200 mil to the AL champs. Ryan Helsley signed Rendon Bayout. The boys are back. Let's yuck ball. Felix Batista. Oh, ground ball double play, probably. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Remember him? The Mountain? Hello, and welcome to the real talking baseball. December 1st, Coach, Trevor Plu. Rob Seraco's producing. I'm Jake Ronald Storelli. I was going to be Jake Charles,
Starting point is 00:00:43 and I was born on my Uncle Ronnie's birthday. Fun fact. Trev, we've been all over the world. You've been to Japan. I was in Italy, scouting WBC on the way. And I think both of us are excited to get back into a little routine. And yuck ball with the people. How you doing, Coach?
Starting point is 00:01:04 I'm doing great. I was very excited to be back and talking to you. You would have been a JC, a JC story alley. Yeah, I probably would have went JC too. I like that for you, actually. I know. I thought about going J.R. at college, but there was another J.R. I had a, I had a J.R. with the twins.
Starting point is 00:01:24 J.R. Smith? Okay. Fireball. You guys, not too dissimilar. J.R. Smith, a pitcher on the twins? Not the two guard for the Knicks? I got it. Maybe I'm completely wrong.
Starting point is 00:01:35 We'll get research on this. I know J.R. Richard. I don't even look that up. It was their name J.R. All the juniors pop up. I don't know. I don't know, Coach. I'm excited to talk ball with you.
Starting point is 00:01:49 We do have some fun things to talk about. The Dillon C's contract. I have a little bit of insight on that. A little bit. I went deep diving into the numbers, which you love when I do that. We still haven't even talked about. You're Italian trip.
Starting point is 00:02:04 We'll probably get into. that a little bit, but I think this can be a nice yuck and ball episode. We're international. There was a massive signing. Yeah, and I think the vibes are high. I think distance makes the heart grow fonder. The boys are missing each other that we've all got a little pep in our step. It's that time a year, too, just the Thanksgiving to Christmas grinder. That, yeah, I had a, I had kind of a big weekend. I'm still riding high off of that. And yeah, man, I think we can start with baseball. There might be movie talk.
Starting point is 00:02:37 Me and Trev just found out Rob hasn't seen a star is born. And Rob's kind of our movie guy here. So that's kind of nuts, Bob. I found out the ending and then I was just like, I'm kind of good. Yeah. It's not fun. Ending is not fun. Ending's not great.
Starting point is 00:02:52 I admit that. It's not fun. It's not fun. I actually have a really funny story about that that I've probably told on here. I'll save it till later because we got to talk about Dylan Sees because he signs with the Toronto Blue Jays. We wondered how active the Blue Jays were going to be. We wondered what kind of contract Dylan Sees would get.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Seven years, $210 million, the biggest free agent contract in Blue Jays history. And it's all brought to you by Seek. And boy, there's going to be some butts in the seats in the Great North. but until then, maybe they can go watch some NBA, some NHL. I think your Raptors are playing well, Treve. Sea Geek is MLB's official ticket marketplace. Your tickets are fully guaranteed and instantly fulfilled in your account. I went to a game at the Garden.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Yukon Huskies, dominated Illinois. Seek, they've got whatever you're looking for. Concerts, sports, wherever there's a seat. They're the geeks of it. even the World Cup coming up. Do we have to become soccer guys again, Trev? Early talking baseball people remember your soccer kit summer. That was a good time.
Starting point is 00:04:08 Hey, go to Seeky. Code talking 10, 10% off your next set of tickets at Seeky. Talking 10, 10% off at Seek. Treb, Dylan Seas, I guess instant reaction and then apparently you deep dove, which we're all scared about. Instant reaction is, hell yeah, Dylan Seas, good for you, brother. it ends up being 30 mil a year.
Starting point is 00:04:29 There is some deferred money in it, which is, you know, that's part for the course in contracts, especially these days, as they try to kind of get the present-day value down for the luxury tax. The Blue Jays are going to have to pay that. My number one takeaway on this is, like, about time. Like, this is awesome for the Blue Jays. You know, this magical season,
Starting point is 00:04:51 you're one out away from winning the World Series, beating the Dodgers, it's good to reward the fan base and to put the pedal down and say, hey, like, that's continue. This is fun. And I think that's exactly what we're seeing here. I talked about, like, how much money teams make
Starting point is 00:05:09 when they go to the World Series. And for a Blue Jays team that, you know, they have, you know, people always talk about the Dodgers and the ability for their ownership to mitigate risk because they're spread out. It's a group. I mean, this,
Starting point is 00:05:24 is a huge company that owns the Blue Jays. So they have that ability as well. And I think when you get a taste of that, like of Toronto and winning and being that close, it only makes sense to keep going. You see the fruits of your labor and not only like the monetary value of going deep into the playoffs and having a successful. team, which obviously is, is huge for the business, but like just the status. I mean, like,
Starting point is 00:06:01 you know, the Blue Jays were the talk of the town, talk of the country, essentially. So you want to keep that going. I love it. I think there are some interesting things going into, you know, signing cease. He was kind of an enigma for, for teams because, you know, some of the, you know, the ERA numbers, you know, have fluctuated. He has, you know, a four, five last year, I believe, was what it was. It's kind of gone up and down on that, but the peripherals like him. So he's like a case study in, hey, can we fix this guy? Do we believe in our pitching department?
Starting point is 00:06:35 Do we believe in, you know, what we see under the hood? Can we turn it up a notch and get the on-field results? And I think most teams like really, especially like if you're in the pitching department, you want that challenge. And I think, you know, I was reading the, this is the numbers I was talking about. Okay. I was reading the MLB trade rumors article about it. And, you know, they talked about Robbie Ray signing there and kind of what he did differently.
Starting point is 00:07:01 The year that he won the Sa Young with the Blue Jays, which is nice. And the year that he won the Sa Young, he really went to being like a two-pitched pitcher. And a four-seeing fastball was the best that's ever been that year in particular run value. And if you look at like what he did, he just got ahead of hitters. He threw strikes. And that's, you know, cease. Like, that's kind of what, you know, eludes him. You know, he gets behind hitters.
Starting point is 00:07:30 He walks, guys. He doesn't go deep into the games. The year that Robbie Ray run, won the Cy Young, first pitch strikes, man. And if you look at this cluster of where he threw his fastball, it's like middle. It's like middle, middle, like he was just throwing it for strikes, making hitters, have to make swing decisions on it, getting ahead. And then when you're ahead, the slider plays up. When you have to respect the fastball for a strike, the slider plays up a bunch.
Starting point is 00:07:56 So, I mean, that's essentially what he did. And if I know that seems like really rudimentary, but like if you can get Dylan C's in the, in the strike zone, strike one, get him ahead of hitters with his wipeout stuff that he has as well. I mean, that's where you'll see like the on-field results take up a bunch. So I'm sure that's what they're going to hammer home to him. And we'll see if he can if he can do it. But if you go look at 2021 for Robbie Ray and the kind of the adjustments he made, I guarantee they're going to be talking the same. thing for cease and like I said if he can do it watch out yeah and you know we're not talking about it's it's not like dylan ceas has never got it done he was fourth in the si young the year before this
Starting point is 00:08:34 um he was second in the si young uh what was that the 20 22 season so it's kind of been in every other uh with those er a fluctuation seasons which you know i'm not going to sit here and fully defend because i i've told this program like i am an era guy like the other you know know, FIP and the other stats do indicate what your results should be trending to, but, you know, like Padre fans, they watch Dylan C's pitch to a 455 ERA this year. With all that being said, the guy goes to the poll. He makes all of his starts. 32 or 33 starts since 2021 in every season.
Starting point is 00:09:17 200 strikeouts in each of those seasons. This was one because I... I do think, okay, if you're a baseball fan that you're not in the numbers like Trev was, looking at Robbie Ray's rebuild in Toronto with his old pitching coach, if I remember correctly, you're like, okay, Dylan C's 455 ERA, 200 Mill. I think that's, I think a lot of people had that thought. 165 plus innings pitched in each of the past five seasons, 200 Ks in each of the past five seasons.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Only three other active players have struck out 200 plus batters in five consecutive seasons. Max Scher, Chris Sale, Justin Verlander. So Dylan sees his talent and ability to be available is elite. So Toronto obviously thinks they can tap into something. I mean, like you said, first pitch strikes, and, you know, his slider got hit a little more last year, which it feels like whether that's getting ahead or, you know, we can change a shape of a slider in one bullpen session now.
Starting point is 00:10:31 That's, I'm not worried about that. He's, if you are a war person, he's fourth in war the past five seasons to scuba, freed, and Framber. So like, this guy's there. He's got the age, he's got the ability That, yeah, this is the price you need to pay for a starting pitcher And I guess the only other note I have Because you mentioned like Toronto building off the momentum
Starting point is 00:10:56 It's a case study I want to do after the season Because Toronto, you know, yes, they got snubbed by a couple big free agents And that kind of lingered in people's memories But it's not like they haven't rolled the money out there And especially this pitching staff going into next year it's going to be Gossman, who I think is at 23. Berrios, you know, people forget he got the bag that he's going to be getting paid 19 million. Beaver gets paid 16 million.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Cease is going to be at 26. You savage is the guy slotted for the fifth, so he'll be on the rookie contract. But I do think at the end of this offseason, there's going to be a fun exercise that's like, how much do you pay your starting pitchers? Because the Blue Jays, the Dodgers, the Yankees, like a lot of the big boys, fork out the money and you see why for a team like the Dodgers, the team like the Blue Jays, the two World Series teams last year,
Starting point is 00:11:48 like you can't have enough arms. Yeah, I mean, you have to have starting pitching the only team that really defies that recently has been the Detroit Tigers late in the season. But you have to have it. And it's very difficult to develop it. And if you can go get guys that are proven at the big league level, they're going to cost some money.
Starting point is 00:12:11 But, you know, I think, again, going back to keeping the good times rolling in Toronto, Bass, it's gone, Scherzer's gone. Okay, you were lucky that Bieber came back on his deal. Like, that is a blessing. I still have not wrapped my head around that. Has that, like, been, has there been some clarity on that? Trev, you kind of came out big brother on me and you're like, dude, the agent's got a deal done. That's what's happening.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Hadn't heard anything, pal. I don't, I don't understand, coach. Because you've never given up the game losing World Series Homer before. Oh, you felt so bad. I think it was an emotional decision, yes. Bad, well, okay, then that is not good. I'm happy for him. Look, be happy.
Starting point is 00:12:55 It's obviously a lot of money. You could still be right. You could still be right. Yeah, it's a lot of money. He's happy. That's an important thing that does weigh into three agency decisions. But I just, I don't know. I mean, there's no way his agent told him to do that.
Starting point is 00:13:09 They don't do that. They don't do that. I'm not saying his agency. agent in particular. I'm just saying agents on a large do not tell you to do that. But I'm happy for them. What I'm trying to say is they're losing some starting pitching in the upcoming years.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Bieber's on a one year deal as of right now. Gossman and is a free agent after next year. Burrios has an opt-out deal. We'll see how that goes. So like they need to stabilize that rotation and signing a guy like Dylan C's obviously does that. So that's kind of like you
Starting point is 00:13:37 have the success. You feel it. It's awesome. you want to keep that going. You got to stabilize the rotation. So this does that for them. I think another interesting point in all this is what does it mean for Kyle Tucker? What does that mean for Boba Chet? You know, the rumors are now they're not in on both those guys.
Starting point is 00:13:59 They're in on one of those guys now. But like, and for the people, I want to say this again. Let's just get hot right here. For the people who are like, I can't believe they're spending that much money. Why do you care? Right. Who's saying that? People say that.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Chris Rosen asked me, is it too much for a starting pitcher? What is too much? Right. Like, if you, if you, your team and your owner decides to spend that much
Starting point is 00:14:23 on a starting pitcher, be happy. Right. That's it. I mean, how much is too much silver stock? Ooh, yeah,
Starting point is 00:14:31 how is your crypto? Not good right now. I'm going to, yeah, they had a bad turn. Opportunity. When it goes down, buy low,
Starting point is 00:14:38 sell high. I guess, okay, let's do, because I think I want to do a little bit of pitchers market because C's sets the tone here. But I guess let's keep it Blue Jays because I, so you're right on the too, too much speech. Who cares? Like I don't know. But go Dillon Cs get paid by them, Toronto, if they want to be the next L.A. If their ownership group wants to just sign everyone, go be about it.
Starting point is 00:15:06 it is interesting because everyone has a limit. And dude, like, they paid Vladie half a bill. Cease 200, 210, excuse me. That, okay, let's say it's Kyle Tucker. We've been talking about 400 million. You're talking about they had invested a billion dollars in the last 365 days. If it's Bichette, it's going to be close.
Starting point is 00:15:32 That, yeah, man, I'd, again, I have no qualms with it. I wish I was talking about Yankee stuff. I feel like every fan base should want their team talking about that kind of money. But at a certain point, to give out that amount of contracts in 365-day span is pretty wild. Yeah, yeah, I mean, it is. And there's more to it than just like the money because there's the taxes on it. There's, you know, Dylan C's had the qualifying offer. So they're giving up, you know, I think it's the second and fifth highest draft picks
Starting point is 00:16:07 in next year's draft because he had the qualifying offer and because they paid the competitive balance tax last year. So there's more to it than that. So I see why people will say that. Like, okay, you're paying X amount on the dollar after a certain amount. So it continues to add up. But again, like, if your owner's willing to do it, it shouldn't, it shouldn't bother the fan whatsoever. And I'm looking right now. Rogers, who owns the Blue Jays, people, they bought 80% in 2000 and bought the remaining 20%, so they're 100% of the team. In 2004, they purchased the final 20%.
Starting point is 00:16:43 Total purchase price, 160 mil. This is a $2 billion franchise. Crazy. Times are good. Crazy. I mean, and just by the way, silver stock over the five-year period, we're up 156%.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Is that right? You're crushing it. Am I rich? I'm not. That's the update. Hey, I do, I have some good news for Blue J fans. You jump to Robbie Ray, which I like. That is a similar, you know, when Robbie Ray hit free agency,
Starting point is 00:17:18 he hit it at the perfect time, right? He had just won. Do I have my timeline right there? Did Robbie Ray hit Free Agency after he won the Cy Young or was it a year removed? No, he hit it, yes. He wins the Cy Young in 21 in Toronto. Did he sign.
Starting point is 00:17:36 He signed with Seah Young. He signed with Seattle Pitched, got her traded to San Francisco You know what he did in Seattle After Wayne of Siong? What's that? Throwing two pitches
Starting point is 00:17:45 Started throwing a sinker Why? Yeah I don't know Because of Seattle You need throw sinker in Seattle Robbie Ray He's
Starting point is 00:17:54 Good pants What a career tight pants Can I ask you a point right now Or can I ask you a question Both Okay You go Okay, where my brain initially jumped,
Starting point is 00:18:09 because I mentioned the skepticism part of just like, okay, Dylan Sees, that's a big boy number. We haven't seen him win the Si. He's, I don't think you necessarily lump him. If you named like your dream starting five rotation, I don't know if Dylan Seas gets mentioned. And that's not supposed to be shots fired at Dylan Seas. The two comps that came up in my head when this-
Starting point is 00:18:30 Sy-Yang 2, Syang 4. It's not bad, pal. Okay. the two comps, because I still think there's even more in there. And that's part of the reason why he got paid this. I think Zach Wheeler's in play. Again, Zach Wheeler has turned into one of the best free agent contracts. But remember when Zach Wheeler signed, it was like, okay, he's got armed talent.
Starting point is 00:18:50 He's never had, like, the elite season. And Dillon Seas kind of has, like you just said, Syung, too, that's there. And I'm currently blanking on the other guy. So you start talking and I'll remember it. my question would be a great point right there my question would be if you're a Toronto fan going into the offseason and someone said you can either have who is it Nathan Avaldi
Starting point is 00:19:15 Oh my you know I love Nate down I know you do and like arm talent like Avaldi didn't click until later I like that I like that And like again if you compare CIS to those guys He's achieved more than them as a younger pitcher Now what we learn of all they have done is not the norm but like Cease has that ability and that's what Toronto believes in.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I think Csies is into like disc golf too. It's a negative to me on the peripherals, but it's okay. It fits Toronto, right? It fits Jimmy O'Brien. I feel like Jim O'Brien's disc golf guy. I try to get him on the disc golf course. He needs a hobby that he doesn't film,
Starting point is 00:19:55 but I don't know, the three kids now under age four, that's the hobby. If you were to ask Toronto fans, before the off season, would you rather, I love a would you rather, would you rather have Bo Bichette and Kyle Tucker
Starting point is 00:20:10 both, or Dillon C's and one of them? I think you take the starting pitcher in one of them. I think you have to stabilize the rotation. I think this is a better avenue than going after both Bo and Kyle Tucker. I'd rather have one of those guys and Dillon Cis.
Starting point is 00:20:31 To me, that means. makes more sense roster-wise and like just putting together a ball team you got to have the starters right so i'm in i'm in on this i'm in on because i mean i don't know if they were completely linked to dylan ciss you know early on the off season whatever it was but i think this is this is the right direction yeah i think dylan sees the top starting pitchers in this class and that's where i kind of want to take it now um we kind of normally you have, I don't want to say an inkling, but normally it's like, okay, these two or three teams are going to be involved.
Starting point is 00:21:12 I think the Mets came up in a lot of polls, like this is the year they go out and get a horse. Toronto, Atlanta, we're in the mix. Toronto being in the mix for starting pitcher, again, like you said, we didn't know. We heard Bichette and Tucker that you're right. This audible is kind of interesting. Let's talk the pitchers a little more.

Prescription required see website for details, restrictions, and important safety information. Coach Trev, coming into this free agency, one of the questions, a good Chris Rose question for you,
Starting point is 00:22:42 which I know is your favorite, is which starting pitcher is going to get the most money? And it was between cease, it was between Framber, am I from the top rope? I don't know. I guess do you think this has changed anything? I guess do you think this is going to be the biggest
Starting point is 00:22:59 contract as starting pitcher gets? I mean, seven years is a long time. So I think, I think yes, overall value does someone sneak in a higher AAV possibly if they go like the shorter year, um, higher AAV route? Uh, but this is, I think this will top. I think this will. I told you teams, I think are reluctant to give Framber that long of a deal. And I think he hurt himself a ton this year with his attitude.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Yeah, we'll see. I think the years is the biggest difference there that, like you said, seven, seven is tough. Where Framber five years, maybe a little more AV, that that probably makes a little more sense. I wish we weren't talking about Framber in a negative light. He's been a darling for us. Coach, people have reached out to me and said, like, like, nah. Really? So it's, it's, love the way he pitches, but, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Who's that, um, God, I think he's on the Phoenix Sun's name. Now, there's an NBA small Ford who is always causing problems that he hit free agency and everyone was like, oh, dude, he's, he screwed up his free agency, but he plays really good. Dylan Brooks, he plays good 3 and D. And he got paid because he's good at his sport. Yeah. And he's like- Agreed that performance trumps all.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Framber crossing up a catcher once. I don't know how much that's good. I still think the contract is going to be there for him. Yeah, I mean, agreed. Agreed. That, yeah, I don't know. And I guess, yeah, you're right. I don't, I think the only guy that maybe could get more years because of his age would be a my. But where that contract is going to land is crazy.
Starting point is 00:24:48 People are thinking he's going to be around 200 and he's not talked about as much as I feel like some of the other, like when Yamamoto was coming over. that I don't know. He's kind of a blind spot for me, this free agency, that I have no idea where that's going to land. You must love him. It's just the things he's saying, his look. I love the look, obviously. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:14 Yeah, watch one YouTube highlight reel, and he pitches with some gusto to him, which I obviously like that. Yeah, that's going to be a fun one. Yeah, I think you're right. I think this is going to be the biggest pitcher contract given out Framber beats him AAV probably. I'll take Framber on my team.
Starting point is 00:25:32 Okay, I'll say it. Where's he going to go? The options are going to be there. Like, Philly, Cubs, New York Mets. Bob, can you pull up our trade draft and who had ceased? Free agent draft, I think I had him going to the Cubs maybe. Oh, okay. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Did I put him on the Braves? I forget. It all blurs together. Bob got it. That was like a month ago. We've been busy, boys. Should we talk about that? Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 00:26:03 Can I give my anti-America take? Oh, yeah, let's sneak that in now. Just sneak it in real quick. Yeah, real quick. A little 26-minute mark if we need to edit this out, Bob. No. America needs to hear this. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Yes. 100%. I don't know what it is yet, but yes. Yes. So, yeah, I was gallivanting around Japan. Yeah. And some things I really loved, about Japan. Some things I didn't really love about Japan. Tokyo, 30 million people. A lot of people.
Starting point is 00:26:33 A lot of people. But I like that. Oh, okay. You talk about New York City vibes. Tokyo vibes are different coach. Me and you on the streets of Tokyo could do some... How are the places you stayed? You Airbnb, right? Airbnb one, I was across from the Russian embassy, which was hilarious. A lot of police presence around there. Yeah, I bet. Some protesters, some nights. Then we stayed in some nice hotels. But my one anti-America take is we, Jake, we are living in the stone ages when it comes to our toilets here. And I cannot believe that we're doing it. Like, we're supposed to be at the forefront of technology. We're supposed to be at the forefront of, you know, standard of living. Especially the bathroom. Like, that's such a proud American. The bathroom. Yeah. Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:26 you go to a public park and people will say there's not a lot of bathrooms in Japan and maybe that's true. I had this app that showed you where the bathrooms were. You go to a public park and you are going to get the nicest toilet you'll ever see. I have one nice toilet in my house.
Starting point is 00:27:45 It's in my master bathroom. Oh, yeah. You know, it's got like the full setup a day, everything. It's great. The rest of them are just like regular old toilets. If you go to a public park bathroom, bathroom in America. How disgusting is it? Gross. Like New York City, it's not in place. You don't want any part of it. You go to one in Japan. It's the nicest toilet you're going to have. Really? Biday, everything you could think of. It's clean. They have good toilet paper. We are, we need to step it up as a country as far as our toilets go. Yeah. It's like we are so far behind. And I'm, I'm disappointed. So if there's any toilet companies out there, listen to this, step your game up and let's go. Let's get on par with Japan.
Starting point is 00:28:28 It's incredible there. Yeah, I think the two problems here are Americans are gross. And Japan is super respectful. Like the clip, wasn't it? Didn't Yamamoto clean up the dugout after this? Yeah, I, everything is so clean. I get that. Could we not be gross?
Starting point is 00:28:43 I think it's gone, dude. I think Americans are like, we're gross. Jake, you would be so, you would just be like, oh my goodness. Dude, I love a bathroom. I poop anywhere. That's a little secret about me. Like, I'm, if I have to go, I'm going. It's not, like, we're on, we're on a bus.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Hey, if there's a bathroom back there and I got to go. Oh, no. Oh, yeah, dog. I'm, yeah. That's, you get banned from the bus if you do that. If I got to go, I have to go, respectfully. Yeah, I guess when I was in Italy, they charge for some of the public backrooms. Like, it's like a euro to go in there, which, hey, I would take that.
Starting point is 00:29:23 If we had the toilet, I'd do it. Right? You need the toilet. And if it's clean and nice, like absolutely. I'm surprised New York hasn't done that. Like, what are we doing? What would you pay for a nice toilet in New York City walking around? See, this is, again, are you at five bucks?
Starting point is 00:29:37 I'm not very bougie with my silver stock. I would, for me, it's a no-brainer. When I have to go, I have to go. I'm up. Oh, yeah, dude. Again, I'm not money bags over here, despite everything I've told the people about my silver stock. But, dude, if I have to go to the bathroom, the price tag of being able to... Like, sit and have a good time?
Starting point is 00:30:02 Yeah. How do you put a price on that? Yeah, I guess you're right. Speaking of Ryan Halsley, uh, congrats to the Blue Jays and Dillon C's. Uh, gun to your head. A game we don't play a lot. Uh, who saw Tucker or Bichette to Toronto?
Starting point is 00:30:23 if you had to pick one. I think the better option for them is Kyle Tucker. I think he just brings a little bit more to the table. And I think you can find, I mean, look, I love the hit tool for Bichette. I think you could figure some of that stuff out. I think it ends up being Bichette, though. And Toronto fans are happy and I'm happy. And it'll still work out for them.
Starting point is 00:30:49 So I think it is. I think it's cease. It's Bichette. Yeah, it's interesting. You wonder, again, there's not a ton of Tucker teams that jump off the map. If you do count Toronto, especially if Bichette market gets a little crazy, which it like should. I think Kyle Tucker is going to wait until February to sign into March, like one of those things.
Starting point is 00:31:11 That's what's going to happen. I think by that time, I think Toronto's like, you know what? Let's go get our guy and run it back. Just do it. Okay. Second base. Bichette, second baseman now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I think that's good. I think the fact that's done, like, you too. Like, it's win-win. Trev, the other signing that happened, as we're going to sneak in some more travel talk, and again, maybe movie talk, I had another topic come up. I forget what it was.
Starting point is 00:31:37 The Orioles signed Ryan Helseli. Hells Bells. Remember he was supposed to be one of the prize trade pieces throughout last season, the last two seasons, basically. The trade finally happened, and unfortunately that's where things went horribly wrong for Ryan Halsley. just a rough experience in flushings. Hellsley gets two years, $28 million.
Starting point is 00:32:00 It includes an opt-out after the first season. Hi, Velo. The first time, I forget if it was myself or someone online, compared him to Troy Percival, and I was like, ooh, really like that. And the Baltimore oils get in the mix, which they're another team that we still don't know how deep are those pockets.
Starting point is 00:32:19 What will their free agency plan be? They make a move on Helsley, who he had a three flat ERA with St. Louis, more strikeouts than innings pitch. And then with the Mets, it just fell apart. He was 7.2. Clearly it became like mental
Starting point is 00:32:36 and like a little physical. I don't know. It got weird and you'd like to assume that's not going to be the norm. I guess what do you think, Coach? I mean, I'm happy for the Orioles. You get a proven back-end guy. There was talks and Halsey,
Starting point is 00:32:50 I think even came in and said this after his Mets stint that he thought he was tipping pitches, which, look, in today's day and age, yeah, it could happen very quickly. And if your team can't figure it out, you can get banged around and you're, you can have a 70RA just like that, you know, especially a guy that's, you know, a two-pitch pitcher like Hellsley. If you can eliminate one, things are going to be very good for you. So if that's the case and you can get back to a form, because he's got the stuff, obviously. We've seen it, we've seen the ton. He won the Trevor Hoffman Award in 2024. This, this is a case. He won the,
Starting point is 00:33:23 guy's like been one of the better closers in the game and I'll never forget. I mean, I heard about this guy early. Christian Yelich came on sequence and talked about he had a home runoff this guy, but he was so proud of it because he said this guy is so nasty. Uh, and then he, you know, obviously turned into what he's turned into. Is he a short king? Oh, in my head I've got him six, six one. Let's see. Oh, really? I got him like five ten. Listed six two. And I think these are real not a short king. No, dude, he's just like jacked. I think he's like a lot. I think he's like a linebacker. Gosh, I did not have that going for him.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Anyways, yeah, Felix Potice. He talked about him at the opening of the show. That was a poll right there. Nice. He'll be out until at least August of next year. So if you're an Orioles team looking to get back in the mix after a really, really bad 2024, one thing you can't do is have nobody to close out games for you. Like, if you got the lead, you need to get those victories and they're counting on
Starting point is 00:34:20 Halsley. And obviously, they got Kitchridge over from the. Cubs so those two will be at the back end of the bullpen. You got to do that because there's nothing more frustrating for a fan base and they can ruin the vibes of a season quicker than not being able to get the last three outs of a game. That could really, really hurt you. And I'm all in on the Hellsley bounce bag. I can see how it could go really quickly in a new, even if it didn't tip pitches.
Starting point is 00:34:51 going to a new place, you know, just a completely different atmosphere, different pitching coach, different catcher, everything. Those things can matter. And then you mentioned, like, if it gets out of your mental capacity a little bit, things can go awry. But having a full off season,
Starting point is 00:35:08 knowing where you're going to be, you know, working a full spring training with the pitching coach, with the catchers, I think we'll see Ryan Heldsie round right back into form. Yeah, it's the life of a reliever. And like, that his whole, career as a cardinal is, I mean, about as good as it gets. Like, ERA 267, you know, led the league in saves in 24.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Like, he has been elite. And I do think there's a little bit of symmetry here that with the first two big pitcher signings of CIS and Halsley, not coming off of their best season statistically, that I think teams saw that as an opportunity, that like if Ryan Helsley had pitched to his 20-24 year, like we're talking four or five years, like probably 20-millish a year, like in that elite elite-hater Edwin-Diaz closer range,
Starting point is 00:36:06 the fact he slipped up, because I know there was rumors he was talking to the Tigers and a couple other teams too, they saw this as an opportunity that like, hey, these two guys clearly have all the armed talent in the world. Hellsley could be the best closer in a given year. I mean, CES can compete for a Cy Young, if not win one, that if they were coming off better years or their 20, 24 seasons,
Starting point is 00:36:32 both of these guys are probably getting bigger paydays that the two ALEs bird teams kind of took advantage of that. This is what you're always talking about too. Obviously, they want to compete. They want to be in the playoff race. But if they end up falling out, you know, he got traded by the Cardinals to the Mets for three prospects last year. Like you can, yeah, these guys are always in demand, especially if they're pitching well, which we expect Helsie to be doing.
Starting point is 00:36:54 So, yeah, I mean, it's, it's a, I, I totally agree. Buy a low opportunity to get one of the game's best closers and kind of write the ship there, especially when your guy is out. It makes a, makes a ton of sense. And for Hells, yeah, it's just a, it's a bounce back opportunity with a good team, I think. We'll see how it goes. We'll see. I mean, the Orioles have sneaky. I think they're a good team. They've made moves.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Like you mentioned, I mean, Kittridge and Helsley, that can be your eight, nine guys right there. And then they had, they did the Taylor Ward trade, which again, that's, you know, an outfield. I think Ward hit like 36 homers last year or something. So the Orioles have been active. Did you talk about that trade? I wasn't here for that. My goodness. Like, Grayson Rodriguez.
Starting point is 00:37:41 Yeah, I guess coach. I mean, this is off the top of my head. I don't even know, like, where he's at in service time. in my mind he's like a young controllable pitcher. Four years. So, and they're getting how many years of Taylor Ward? One year.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Yeah, it's just, screams, you know, like, hey, like we don't trust his injury history. That's kind of it. And if you're the angels,
Starting point is 00:38:05 are you just like, yeah, we'll figure it out. Yeah, I think there was a couple interesting parts to that trade for me. It was one that the Orioles, well, A,
Starting point is 00:38:15 they're, I mean, they're punting on, Grayson Rodriguez. Like, you just have to be honest about that. He was, like, one of the games, like, top-pitching-up guys. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:24 This chair is killing me right now. What's going on over there, coach? I have it up right here, and I keep sinking down. Oh, is it a gradual sink? Yeah, I think I got to get a new chair. I think because we talked about this with Jolly Olive on the program. And, yeah, it was also one of those things. The two teams involved, like, if, if Grayson Rodriguez got traded,
Starting point is 00:38:47 and we're going to talk some halos in a minute, Tony Rendon. Oh, hiccup. That if Grayson Rodriguez got traded to, like, Houston or the Dodgers or Seattle, everyone would have been like, oh, God, here we go. The fact it's the Angels, everyone's like, oh, what did they just trade for? But yeah, the Orioles have had themselves a good start to the off season. think there's a little Orioles if these are the
Starting point is 00:39:23 top three or four moves of the off season what have you done that I don't know the Orioles are a funky team man by the time we get to their team profile and projection we're who knows what you say where's Adley at
Starting point is 00:39:41 what do you think they'll be ranked oh okay fun game Mark this one down, Rob. 2026 fan ranking of the Baltimore Orioles before Free Agency in the meat of the offseason. I'll go with 20th? Yeah, our fans will rank them last in the ALE East.
Starting point is 00:40:07 And I think you're right on there. Summer 14 and 20, I would say. The raise probably last, right? I think our fans will do Baltimore. Wow. Because we constantly talk to raise up, but Ray's going to Ray, and that's always in their head. Ray's going to Ray. Are they getting the Trap back?
Starting point is 00:40:27 I saw there's a roof on the Trop. That's fantastic news. Yeah, and they need that. You need a stadium. You need a stadium about. You need your stadium. Sorry, Ray's fans for some trap. But good news.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Yeah, it's expected to be open. Let's go. Raise up, maybe. Great, fantastic. Trev, let's talk this Tony Rendon thing kind of quick, because this is kind of wild. And it's brought to you by Shopify. And I think the angels are hoping to get a little more shopifying in

Coach Anthony Rendon, my God, here we are the last season of his seven-year, $245 million contract.
Starting point is 00:42:10 what is in his basement not a hitting machine nothing baseball nothing baseball and the dude's been open about this this is where it's been so bizarre since basically the start of this show I want to get into that I think I've said this about him before
Starting point is 00:42:30 I have no problem with him saying that he puts his faith and his family before baseball why do people hate that so much Like they just want to hear I get it You want to hear your athletes
Starting point is 00:42:45 Like now I'm at ball's number one Right ball is number one Right But like that's not the case I show literally anybody They want I guess Say it right
Starting point is 00:42:55 You just say it I guess the opposite is Because people aren't mad about Faith and family I think people are just When you have Bryce Harper's demeanor And your jersey's getting dirty and you're sliding hard
Starting point is 00:43:10 and you're reping Philly as hard as you possibly can't. Remember when Harper was coordinating his outfits with like the Phillies mascot? I know. Like that's what the fans want. Like if we're being honest, it's all fan service at the end of the day.
Starting point is 00:43:26 But, dude, I don't know. I mean, hey. Counterpoint. Right. If he's driving in 126 and with 34 homers. Yes. And he's like, Yeah, I like family and faith, number one.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Baseball is kind of the back end. Everyone's like, hell yeah, brother. That's awesome. This guy doesn't even care. Look how good he is. It's all about performance. And that's why. If you say that, if you say what he said and you're hurt and not performing,
Starting point is 00:43:53 that's when people have the negative connotation to it. If you're balling out, people are applauding you. Just give the guy a statue for what he said. Well, and Trev, that's, you're absolutely right, because, you know, one of Dalton's notes here on the sheet, this is how I can swerve. Salton's second bullet is, is Anthony Rendon's contract considered the worst in MLB history? Woof. So the fact where, you don't even have to, I won't Chris Rose you.
Starting point is 00:44:18 The fact that that's a bullet sums up what has gone on here, and the fact that Rendon had that cool composed, collected personality and didn't seem super fiery about baseball. Kind of maybe even, I wonder if he regrets a little bit letting it out there so much that he's not, it's a grind, okay? Like, don't get me wrong. Like, if I get the job offer to play third base for your twins next year, I'm taking it and I'm doing it and I don't care about the travel.
Starting point is 00:44:52 But when you're in the show and you do the minor leagues for four or five years and you're traveling every day, like, you know, Cole Tucker is our guy guy. And I was, I was cracking up because he had his first summer ever this summer. he'd never had like a 4th of July weekend that it's a grind and Rendon was a little open and honest about that probably passed where fans care about
Starting point is 00:45:18 only because Trevi got paid $245 million It's much less of a grind when you're making that type of money A lot less of a grind coach I just ran the numbers He had a nice 20-20 for the Angels He did
Starting point is 00:45:35 Nice 20 great start to the con contract. And maybe COVID got him. That year we don't speak up 2020. Maybe that got him. That changed a lot of people's perspective on life. I'll tell you that much. From 21 to 24, 863
Starting point is 00:45:51 played appearances. Do you know what is OPS ended up being? The sign of the beast. Oh, no. 666. Shoot. That's scary. The devil's in the details, coach. I don't know. It's tough,
Starting point is 00:46:08 Because it's a little LOL angels. It's tough because... Don't do that to them. I mean, it is what it is, coach. Hey, maybe... You know, I'm not a fan of that organization, but the fans don't deserve that. Correct.
Starting point is 00:46:25 But it's... But they're also celebrating. Yeah, and I... Hey, like, let's see what actually happens here. Because it sounds like they want to try to defer the money and that would allow them to do more this off season. so maybe Rendon can go out a hero if they go out and sign a my. So this is the last year.
Starting point is 00:46:47 This is the last year. 38 mil. 38 mil. I wonder, I mean, so defer the money, but still pay them the full amount? We don't know. These details haven't happened yet. They're just having the conversation. Michael Cadire got bought out by the Mets with his contract.
Starting point is 00:47:06 Do you know that? If it was a bar trivia, maybe I could have gotten that, but I don't... I wonder if he's taking any sort of a discount just to not have to show up. He had hip surgery last year. He's had some stuff going on. Correct. And you know I talk about all the time. I got super depressed whenever I was on the aisle.
Starting point is 00:47:30 I don't know, man. Part of me wants to defend Anthony Rendon. And part of me is like, yeah, like, he's fine. He doesn't care what I say. He's got the bad. He's got his family. I'm sure he thinks about this a lot less than fans do. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Yeah, and if I remember correctly at the time, like he took the shorter contract because he pretty openly was like, I'm not playing baseball until I'm 40. Like he could have gotten one of those contracts because he hit free agency at the perfect time. Shorter contract, he got a seven-year deal coach. I know, but this was also still baseball hadn't made the turn yet that like, you shouldn't just throw 10 years at everyone. Like I think we've made a slight turn on that.
Starting point is 00:48:13 He came off an MVP3 and World Series champion where he was nails. They're like he timed free agency to be perfect. Yeah, he did. That I think he could have gotten eight, nine, even one of those 10 years spread out the AAV. But he openly was like, no, dude. Like I'm, I'm going to wrap this up and get out. You're right, man.
Starting point is 00:48:35 he's going to end up making 292 mil. He's probably got some like belt buckles. He's from Texas, right? Oh, okay. Yeah, he's a Houston guy. I mean, definitely a ranch. Yeah. Definitely a ranch.
Starting point is 00:48:52 It's just what's in the basement. Something rare. Just pictures of his family. Like shipwreck. Like something from a shipwreck is what I'm picturing. Yeah, I have a tough time. with this one. Because part of me is like, hey, man, like, let the guy, like, do what he does, but also,
Starting point is 00:49:13 you have, like, you have to, the fans are the reason you make the money. Right. If they don't show up or watch, you don't make the money. So, like, you have to, like, give something to them. You have to, not appease them. I don't think that's the right word. I think you have to, like, I don't know, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:31 You just got to be better to the fans and say the right things, even if you don't want to. Say all this. behind closed doors. Remember when he got into a, what was that, opening weekend when he got into a fight in Oakland? Yeah. What the hell was that?
Starting point is 00:49:46 Weird. Is he the biggest lock to like, we won't see him again? Like Anthony Rendon's not doing media. He's not going to coach. He's not going to like open a restaurant.
Starting point is 00:50:01 Like, oh, you don't know that. I don't know that. I don't know his food game. I bet it's pretty good. Houston area, Mill. I bet Tony Rendon's eating. I think he's cooking?
Starting point is 00:50:11 I think he's just seal later. And the Killeo Green might just go together and hang out. Where is Killeo? Where's my guy? Where is Kaleo? Let's get, Rob, get him on the show. If you got Kaleo Green on the show, I would be very excited. We'd have to get
Starting point is 00:50:24 Ryan Cohen involved too. You see how my chair just keeps I just keep going down. You do keep drifting a little bit. I'll keep leaking up. It's unbelievable. Trev, let's let's clean up some odds and ends for the people. And maybe a little good

Starting point is 00:52:10 and I was like two hour spurts, which was perfect. Check in on some talking baseball, checking on some talking yanks. The you interviewing Jimmy episode, awesome. Awesome. I was laughing inside and out loud just because I was like, okay,
Starting point is 00:52:24 this is just Trev interviewing Jim, which is fun. And then the Trev solo app, I'm like, okay, I was a little nervous for my guy. You know, that can be tough. Like, I do, I do wake and Jake. And at first, it was, it was kind of scary when you don't have a ton to bounce and you're like,
Starting point is 00:52:41 what, 45 minutes. This is not BS. When you told your concert story about, was it POD? Yeah. I got actual chills. Actual chills, the way you told the story and the scene of just like, it powers out. and we're still rocking. Oh, yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:53:03 That was awesome. I'm happy that happened for you. Did you immediately listen to the song? I did not. I did not. I just kept listening to podcasts. Oh, good. Do you want to talk about that home run
Starting point is 00:53:18 you hit off a kid in Japan? I didn't hit a homer off him. Didn't you see my caption? F7. It was caught? There was no fences at this. park. So it was they moved back. Um, this was honestly, this was one of the cooler things that happened. Uh, we were in Kyoto at this time. Yeah, see, this guy catches this. That's why I'm
Starting point is 00:53:45 walking back, bro. What? So they play with it. They were playing. We just showed up to this park. We had some time to kill. And like, when you're on vacation, you do like really random things. Like typically I just don't go to like a, a park. Right. In play. Sometimes I guess we do. like back in the day when your kids are younger, but we're like walking around, we want some nature, find this park. And initially I see a softball game with all these old guys going.
Starting point is 00:54:12 And it was so funny, man. Like they were playing, they had good fundamentals. Like literally like 60, 70 year old dudes. One guy, the shortstop made an air, they were all laughing at him. I was like, this is pure joy. Nice.
Starting point is 00:54:25 And then on the other dime, I see them playing baseball. So I'm like, oh my gosh. I literally Uber at home, or Uber to our hotel and got me and Teddy's glove. Because we brought them there to play catch. I'm like, Teddy, this is like, we have to get our gloves.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Uber got the gloves. And then they kind of like went around. And I just like went up to these guys. I said, what's up guys? Like, how are you? You know, everyone kind of, the most people in Japan that I encountered, like spoke at least some sort of broken English, which is great for me. Because I like, you know, I, us Americans, we just speak one language.
Starting point is 00:54:57 Yeah. But we started talking and I had like the major league baseball. So I like showed them the majorly baseball And they're like they love that And I don't know We just got into it There was a couple guys like pretty good hands and stuff And they were just playing a pickup game
Starting point is 00:55:10 Like just friends And they were using like this kind of like rubberish ball And it was just like a beautiful thing man Like Teddy hit and I was like A random pickup game Will probably be one of like the most lasting memories From that trip Just because like when do you get to do something like that
Starting point is 00:55:27 You don't really see that in the States You might see a softball game in the States Right But a random pickup baseball game is like not a thing anymore. Not anymore. Do you ever see that? No, it's what this country is built on.
Starting point is 00:55:37 And now it's so much easier to play pickup basketball or, you know, I guess there's some footy people out there. But did you, were you like, I'm ex-MLB player, Trevor. Yeah, I said, I said,
Starting point is 00:55:50 I said, as point of the major league baseball sign of the ball, it's like, yeah, me. And I have my showy shirt on random. Nice. It was like perfect, dude. It was just all set up.
Starting point is 00:55:58 And then, um, Yeah, we kind of like just played around a little bit. I ended up hitting Teddy taking a bat. It was just, it was hilarious, man. But great guys. The shortstop, who I was like really complimentary towards, ended up commenting on that Instagram video,
Starting point is 00:56:12 like, hey, I was the shortstop, man. Like, what's that? Nice. Great fundamentals, as you would imagine. Yeah. Your swing had a little Bregman in it with the finish. It's not dialed in, coach. I can tell you that right now.
Starting point is 00:56:27 I will admit, this is my third swing. Okay. So I had, I hit one like, deep left foul. And I was like, let me get another one. Then I'm hitting that one.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I don't want to like continue to, like mess up their game. I like, didn't want to be like that guy. See that in the finish out there? That's, that's Bregman to me. Does Bregman have as much juice as I have?
Starting point is 00:56:47 I don't know. I'd rather not comment. Okay. He's a free agent. Where's he going to sign? No, I love that, man. Because I, your,
Starting point is 00:56:56 your personality fuels off that. situation? Yeah. You really do. Like, you light up. Does Teddy get embarrassed, or is he just over it? Because you're his obnoxious dad. He's the opposite. Like, he does not want... Right. To talk to, like, anyone, really.
Starting point is 00:57:14 But he was so excited to go hit. Like, that was his thing. He loves to do it. I just have to put him in the situation. He would, like, he would never go up to those guys, like, can I hit? No. No. But once I was like, hey, can he hit? He's like, hell yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Give me one or two other Japan highlights. Mount Fuji. I'm like a Mount Fuji guy. Okay. So we were in the city for a while. Love Tokyo. Love the vibes.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Again, 30 fucking million people, coach, earmuffs. Sorry about that one. New York is what, eight? Oh, New York City population. No idea. Yeah, it's something like that. Yeah. It's eight and a half. It is vibes out there. So I was big into Tokyo. Great. but then we got out of the city. We had this great tour guide that drove us up to Mount Fuji
Starting point is 00:58:02 visits some lakes and stuff. Mount Fuji's badass, dude. Okay. So that was like my favorite thing that we did. When you say badass, is it like go hiking? Is it like stay a weekend or like what kind of mountain vibes are we talking? You can because there's a bunch of lakes around it. And like certain lakes have like water sports on one,
Starting point is 00:58:24 fishing on one, more like relaxing, tranquil. You can kind of like pick what you want. But we just did a day trip. And I don't know. Like Mount Fuji, like you just like see it in pictures. And it looks exactly the same as it does in pictures. It was like, you know, sometimes like things don't live up to the hype. This lived up to the hype.
Starting point is 00:58:44 And I actually ate an ice cream cone at like the base of Mount Fuji. You know, I don't really indulge in a ton of sweets all the time. And I said, I'm here at Mount Fuji. I'm going to eat this ice cream cone. It was delicious. That's how you remember it. Japanese maple. You know I wasn't eat that.
Starting point is 00:58:58 Oh. Yeah. Nice, dude. Okay. Great. Do you want to get into your Italian stuff? I'm trying to think of what I've told the people on here. Best meal?
Starting point is 00:59:09 I did some. So know what's really tricky. It's trying to compare because I was gone for a little bit there. It's hard to compare from the start of the trip slash you're used to it for two weeks. There was a pizza in Rome that stood out. But again, it kind of blindsided me. Like I was at lunch and wasn't sure if I was going to get a pizza. And I was just like, ah, fine, I get a pizza.
Starting point is 00:59:33 So again, that surprise aspect caught me. I had this rigatoni cheese dish. And Ferreense, that was fire emoji. And yet, it's just like it's kind of all good. Yes. There was a cheesecake in Rome that was Elite A1. but yeah man all of it like i i would get i would try to get like a chicken caesar type meal midday maybe a piece a side pizza um to kind of reset um and then yeah i was hunting out a pasta
Starting point is 01:00:10 or something good at night um love that man and yeah it was it was good man caught the weather pretty good uh and the biggest thing the pivot point of the trip was venice because a lot of mixed takes on venice uh as you you talk to jimmy was bashy So, A, I think they've cleaned up Venice a lot. B, it is overwhelming, and I went not during peak season, that if you go and it's hot and it's packed, yes, I could see that being, especially if it was smelly too, I could see that being a bad time. No smell.
Starting point is 01:00:45 Just gorgeous. I will say once I left, I was like, whoa, that place. It's like an amusement park, man. you're just like, it's insane. The streets are water. Instead of streets, we have water. And like your maps doesn't work great. So sometimes you're just walking through alleys
Starting point is 01:01:07 and you don't know where you're going to pop up. It's an insane place to live. If you're a, for all our Venetian listeners, yeah, you're a little out of your mind. Can you just like write a C-Doo around there? I'm assuming there's laws against that. I didn't see any. sea doers.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Okay. But yeah, man, I was worried it was going to be like tourist trappy. It really wasn't. Like I'm like anywhere in any of those places you can find those spots. But no, cheap wine. Yeah, let it eat one and a half nights.
Starting point is 01:01:44 I will say, I've been to Italy. I've been to Japan now. Okay. Two completely different places. Here we go. Not even. completely different.
Starting point is 01:01:56 I'm choosing Italy. Okay. I don't want to be, that's not a slight to Japan. But I actually, we're getting into this now. Yeah. You know, we're just yucking.
Starting point is 01:02:08 Yeah. I had a slight issue with the food in Japan. Whoa. Yeah. Everything was like sweet. Really? So like my palate was like not ready for that. Clearly there was incredible fish.
Starting point is 01:02:21 we went to this fish market in Tokyo which was awesome but you kind of get bombarded with like heavy fatty tuna and like Wagyu beef and it's like it's that stuff's very very rich and then you go to get ramen
Starting point is 01:02:36 everything was like very rich very sweet so like that kind of overwhelm me a little bit but then we kind of like found our way around you know you get you got to get out of like the touristy areas and there's more like traditional Japanese food which for like an adult palate is good not great for kids. But Italy, I think that's the biggest difference.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Like Italy, you walk in anywhere and you're like, oh my God, this is amazing. Yeah, it was, it is, by the end you're looking for, I mean, you and, you and me are, you know, kind of power lifters that by the end, I was like, hey, you know, just some chicken and rice would be great. Yeah. Well, in Italy, there's only Italian food. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:16 Like, they don't do other cuisines there. No. Again, like chicken Caesar was my like safety dish. That like, you know, even then they were probably like, Ah, it's a Semedican. And yeah, I'm debating making Italian guy part of my personality. I think I'm going to ride hard with them for the WBC. And I didn't see like the Summertowns because it was November.
Starting point is 01:03:37 So, yeah, I need to do, dude, there's two coasts. Yeah. There's two coasts and like three islands. Let's go back together. Let's go back together. Oh, you know who's on my first? flight home, you're going to like this. Lady Gaga.
Starting point is 01:03:53 I think she's flying private these days. Nicholas Casano, aka Nikki Cass. No way. Yeah. Yeah. They did a family trip. I'd rather not comment. I'm not commenting on that. How does that happen?
Starting point is 01:04:11 Nikki's doing all right. They do a family trip over there and we're, you know, flight from Rome to JFK. Wow. We had a We had a nice powwow, me and the Casano family, a baggage claim. So that was a horrible flight. Everyone was sick, dude. It was that like nine and a half hours of people just coughing and sneezing. Full circle on Americans being gross, it was gross.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Let's not be gross. Let's not be gross, people. We will be back Wednesday. You might be, we'll figure it out off air. Are you in or are you out? I think I'm out Goose. Okay, that's fine.
Starting point is 01:04:51 I thought we were doing Friday. Maybe we are. We'll talk off air. Okay. There's going to be an episode coming, people. Maybe there's a big signing tonight. I'm here. Carrabis filling in for you?
Starting point is 01:05:04 Oh, yeah. Hot? I mean, not as hot. Good looking guy, though. Look at guy. Jake sucks. I'm happy for a Carobus. He's got like a family now.
Starting point is 01:05:16 He's like... You can tell when a person's like... hit their happy place and Carabas is there, man. Like his dream girl from high school. Love that. Love that. Love that. Got her.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Oops. And I, oop.
