It's September 11th, which I guess we're going to talk about that a little bit too, but you're in the dance. I always loved high school dances, man. I had a great time, all the time. I wasn't afraid to dance. In fact, I would dance with, like, my date. Right.

Like sometimes, but then, like, the boys would get together and dance, too. I went to an all-boys school. There was a bond there. You can't be broken. So if you're out of dance, let me get this advice to everybody. And you don't want to dance because you're afraid or you're embarrassed. I totally get it. it everyone's been there but you just got to go for yeah like nobody knows what they're doing out

on the dance store and if they do know what they're doing it's like bro like just chill out right like we don't we don't need that here that's not what tonight's about yeah like let's all just have a little bit of fun but i would i would implore anybody that's on the like a wallflower just just just try it just move the body around a little one two you can count i bet you've counted before just a little drop step um yeah and you know what go ask him to dance If they say no, good. Good. They won't.

Let's talk a little bit of American League baseball.

Couple AL potential playoff teams, Rays take three out of four and it starts out. Mariners won nothing. Luis Castillo, Zach Lattel, and a little bit of a pitcher's duel. But the Rays take it the rest of the way. George Kirby making some weird headlines for the wrong reason. He apologized. It's okay. But the Rays take the rest of these games. Harold Ramirez, Isok Perides, and Yandi Diaz walk off two-run Homer in that third game. Race, Take care of their business against Seattle as that messy ALS picture. My goodness. Angels Guard Dogs, okay.

Angels take three out of four. Both of these teams have cannibalized themselves in different ways. Here's what I'll tell you. Calquantral had a nice start. Awesome. Lucas Gialito went seven innings. We're happy for him. Randall Gritchick, they're trying to,

They're trying to wave him, and he hits a walk-off RBI single in the first game. That's got to feel kind of good, right? We've got some Bo Naler and the guard dogs wins. But, hey, Angels win some game. Kenny Rosenberg with some moxie on the bump. Yikes. Here's a series that had a little more juice to it, Trev. The birds, the Orioles.

They take two out of three from the Red Sox. They put up 11 and 13 in the first two games. Kyle was being Braddish in that first one. The second one, my goodness, 13 to 12 final. God, our guy Aaron Hixie with a big day at the office, along with all of the kids. James McCann, too, a little New York special for the Orioles in that game. God, that is just a lot of runs on the board. Sox, they take the last game

because they win on Brian Bayo days. Are you not getting it yet? Bayo Greyrod. We might see a lot of that in the future. White Sox Tigers, okay. White Sox, 6-0-0 win. Clevenger, maybe he'll be on your team's free agency list this offseason. They win 6-0 in that one.

The Tigers take the next two. 3-1, 3-2. Sawyer Gibson-Long. an MLB long shot story, five innings in his MLB debut. Matt Veerling, you like him, Trev. He had two hits and a homer in that second game. And Spencer Torkelson, and one of the best names in baseball right now, Andre Lipschish.

Not sure if I'm saying that right. He got two hits. What a series that was. Blue J sweep the Royals, and that's obvious. Kikuchi gives them five. solid and Davis Schneider is just always hitting. Unfortunately, the highlight that came out of this series, our guy Cole Reagan's who's been killing it just loses it in his final inning of work. Three straight wild pitches to allow the tying run to score in. Pretty wild scene on the mound.

John's working on the breakdown, guys. Blue Jay sweep, and it's that time of year because it's Blue Jay's Royals. And then the Rangers. They lose the first game to the A's. My goodness. Scary times in that second game as they win three to two. Lioti Tavares, two for four in that game. Robbie Grossman, the tie-breaking run on a wild pitch. My goodness.

Texas, they come back, they win that last game. We ask them to take care of their business. They barely do. But that's sometimes how you got to get out of a losing streak. That's what happened in the first. American League. Trev, hit him with the standings. My guy, Jacob Story Alley, great job with the burn there.

I was just doing a little bit of research for my award later. But I do have the standings in front. I mean, I was prepared today. In the AL East, congratulations to the Baltimore Orioles on their 90th win. They're 90 and 52. Three games ahead of the Tampa Bay race were 88 and 56. Toronto sitting at 80 and 63. And then it is the Red Sox.

703 and 70, New York Yankees, one game under 500, it's 71 and 72. In the AL Central, some are calling it the toughest division in all of baseball. Nobody is saying that, actually. Minnesota 75 and 68, their magic number is 12. They have a seven and a half game lead over Cleveland, who is 68 and 76, Detroit, Chicago.

This is actually fun. How about this? Detroit, 66 wins. Chicago, 55 wins. Kansas City, 44 wins. So we have that double number thing. Three straight times. All of those teams are way out of it.

Except for everybody except the Twins, which are going to win the division by 10 games. I told you guys that. The AL West, Houston, 82 and 62. They're atop the division. Two and a half games above Seattle, who is 79 and 64. A half game behind Seattle is Texas at 78 and 64.

Angel, 67 and 77. Oakland, 44 and 99. So sitting right there in front of the Royals for the second worst record in all of baseball. The wild card not as interesting as the NL, but Tampa Bay Rays are eight and a half games up as the first wild card Toronto, one game up on Seattle, and the Rangers, a half game back of Seattle.

So Texas Rangers, as of today, September 11th, on the outside looking in by a half a game. Trev, man, and I think I teed this up last time, but Texas and Toronto are teeing it up tonight in Toronto. So Texas is still trying to get out of their death spiral. The A's were the proper dose of medicine. But that's playoff baseball. Those are the two teams.

Right now they're separated by a game and a half. But, man, I mean, those are going to be some pseudo-playoff games. Trev, let's, you know, we're Cronpod guys. Like we've said, we're going to chew the fat less on some of these series. But Seattle and Tampa. Tampa firmly in. They should be that number one wild card team. Three games back of Baltimore,

like there could still be a little... Oh, yeah. There could still be some funny business coming there, but the Orioles have done nothing for us to think that. The Seattle Mariners, who are in the teeth of it, they had this miraculous kind of run to get back in it. Texas Falls, and them, Houston, and the Rangers are doing a dance. The race take three out of four.

and we get some the George Kirby stuff. I don't know if you want to start there if you want to do the games first. I think you should do the games first. And again, we're at the point of the season now. We're going to go through these series pretty quickly

unless there's a lot of playoff. Playoff. I guess. Implications. Thank you. And this one did have them, as Seattle is looking up at Tampa in that wild card set.

Look, the Razor just, they find so many. different ways to beat you, dude. And like, it's, it's, they've played great ball as of late. The Mariners have played great ball as late. In the first game, you get Castillo going up against Lattel, which is one of the funner pitching matchups that we had this weekend. Castillo does his thing, six innings pitch, no earned runs.

Letell, who has only started, I don't know, nine games now, something like that, eight or nine games. He goes eight innings pitch, one and run. The only earned run was in the top of the second, a Mike Ford. RBI single. Obviously. Obviously. So both pitching staffs do the job there because Stio actually had to work out of a lot of trouble.

First three innings. He had two on and one out and just worked his way out of it because that's what he does. And it gives that awesome fist pump. Yeah. It's a good one. Some guys don't have good fist pumps, but he has a good. Yeah, Stios is good. It's up.

Yeah. It's natural. It's not for some of the more jacked guys are too close to the body because they can't get that bicep extended. A good pitchers, Bob, that's where you want. That's where you want your fist pump. Curious to see what Castillo

looks like with no sure. I don't know. I've never showered with it. But he's a good pitcher. One nothing Mariners and then the race said, you know what? We're going to take it from here. In game two, the race answer in the seventh off of Kirby. That's the whole thing. He didn't really

want to be out there. He has some numbers. I guess. we can get into it now because this is this is the game Kirby has some numbers you know and in his pitches when he gets past I believe like 80 pitches the OPS starts to rise

drastically so I don't know if he knows those numbers and he just wants to be out at 80 pitches every single game that doesn't make any sense you got to you know you got to give your allotment of pitches when you can especially when you're going well he makes

some comments after the game the race end of winning that game, seven to four. Harold Ramirez is just like sneaky. Yeah, a baseball player. Another guy that rakes for them. And yeah, I think for the George Kirby thing, if you have no idea, so I think he goes back out for the sixth inning and he's at 90 pitches,

which I don't know. That usually seems like a number that's in play. You're wondering if your starter's going to give you one more. He comes out. That inning, the game gets flipped. they were up four to two. They ended up losing the game. And George Kirby gets interviewed post game.

And he basically says, like, I didn't think I was going to be going back out to start the inning. The reporters asked, like, was it a conversation? He kind of said no. He said, it's about to be. Yeah, that was, that was a young. He lost me. That was a young man moment, wasn't it? And he comes out the next day.

He does everything. He does a meeting. He meets with the man. manager and coaches and apologize. He met with the team player, met with the media. So he did everything. I mean, he's, you know, I think is Kirby still 23? He's 25, excuse me.

Sorry, George. But, you know, he 25 years old. He does all that. And he was hot coming off the mound. I guess the part where I wonder, Trev, because unfortunately the team that we've talked about this topic the most is your Cleveland Guardians, I don't know if you're George Kirby, you're a young pitcher,

having, you know, one of these full workload seasons that last year, I think he had 130. Right now he's at 165. We're still chasing a playoff spot. Like the Mariners have nothing promised that I don't know, man. You wonder, is that just hot in the moment? Do you think, like, maybe even his agents in his ear a little bit? Like, you know, are pitch counts getting up here, kid? I don't know.

I'm genuinely asking. All of the above. Okay. I think. I think it was just a little bit of, he's pissed that he gave up some homers to relinquish the lead. Obviously, then his line looks worse than it would have if he just came out after the sixth inning. You know, I'm sure that him and his agent, who is his agent?

Let's see. Okay. Now we're really talking. And now we're getting into it. They do not have it's listed on here. Usually they do on baseball reference. I'm sure they've had talks about this. like yeah, your previous high in innings is

130. This year you're at 160 165. But here's the thing, man. And I think he regrets all this and I think he handled it the right way afterwards. There was a lot of old heads coming at him on X Twitter and all these baseball shows. And that would have never happened in my day. Bullshit. Stuff happened

all the time in all the days, dude. Like, you think your day was perfect? It wasn't, man. Like, I just, I don't like when people some people gang up on somebody. This guy had a moment. And how often do we talk about, man, I wish these players would stop answering these questions like robots.

And then we get mad at them and when they don't. So, look, was it a smart thing to say? Obviously not. No, man, but like there was emotion there. And he handled it the right way afterwards.

I think that's the biggest thing. You can screw up. Everyone screws up. What do you do next? What's your next move? So the only thing that I think about with stuff like this is like eventually you've got to get to try to get to that 200 any mark. I mean, how long is it going to take you to build up? Like do you have to go 130, 160, 190, then eventually you can get to 200?

Like eventually it's the big leagues, bro. You got six months. It ain't five months anymore. You got six months of ball. You got 30 starts you got to make. You know, you want to be at 180 to 200 innings. Like that's what you want to be. You're right there.

You're going to get it. Yeah. like so I don't know those are conversations that you know him and the coaching staff

are going to have about what he wants going forward because guess what next game when he wants to stay in they're going to yank his ass after six

and then what if he wants to be in like you that's like you can't set the precedent like hey I want to get out after 85 pitches Treve I that's the opposite

of what you want to hear right I do love what you just teed up there. George Kirby's next start kind of must watch. You know, if he's, let's say he has a great one and he's, you know, 78 pitches into the 6th. You know, is there going to be a little bit of him like, hey, let me, I want to try to finish this game. Are the coaches going to take it out of his hands today? And maybe that's the sneaky punishment. I love that.

That's going to be fun to watch. We'll see. But I assume that whole saga is over and it was just a bad sound bite and it happens to everyone, man. Like, come on. Rest of the series, go, raise go. Yondi walks it off. Did you see the Homer swing? Walk off Homer?

It was like an ass out line drive to right field. He's just so strong. And why hasn't this guy hit like 300 homers already? He's so strong. I don't get it. The evolution of. of Yondi Diaz. I remember when he first came over and it was like, oh, yeah, there's just, the Rays have this new ripped up corner infielder that he gets on base a lot. And you're like,

okay, that's interesting. And then they were like, you know, he hits a little bit, but not really for power. And then everyone was like, well, with like, where we're at with hitting, we can kind of teach power a little bit if you're built like Yandi Diaz. And he's been one of the best players in baseball this whole year. This guy, I mean, not full years. but he's got seven years in the show now. Can you guess his home account? I just brought up his page, so I'm sorry. I would have overshot it.

58 career homers. What's his, what are the measurements on Yondi? Big. 6-2-15, but it is all muscle. I think. Feels like an old number from what I've seen from Yandi's arms. He looks more like a 230 guy. Yeah.

And again, all muscle, maybe like five to six percent body fat. But yeah, just, you know, the race had the answer in the seventh. They rallied in the seventh to tie it there. Seattle came back and tied it in the eighth. And then Yanni says, I'll call it game. And then game four, Rays jump out to the early lead. Fairbanks gets another save. Last pitch of the game, 101 miles an hour.

Whoops. And in my notes, I just said, yeah, Harold Ramirez, this nice series, man. Trev, we've come a long way from the undefeated April. I'm going to give you a couple numbers. Do what you want with these numbers. Okay? I can't wait. Here's a couple numbers on the Ray's offense.

They're fourth and runs scored. They're third in home runs. Their second in stolen bases. That's good. They're starting pitching. Second in ERA, second in whip. first in K per 9, first in home runs allowed per 9.

They took over my twins and Ks per 9? I think they took down your twinkies. What? Despite Pablo Lopez's best efforts. All right. The bullpen, first in whip, second in hits per 9 allowed.

We've come a long way from the perfect April and, you know, the Orioles have had that number one spot locked for a couple months now. I think the Ray's hype train is going to start picking up again. Their bullpen is gross, man. What Fairbanks and Poshay are doing on the back end, um,

man. I mean, that's why the record is what the record is. I mean, they're just like quietly having a great season. We, yeah, we talk about the start they had and,

you know, they've dealt with injuries. Just like every team has, but they kind of just, I mean, what, I want to go back. Let's look at their,

um, They're scheduling results like month to month. I'm very curious if they've had even close to a losing month. Sure. And they did. Oh, whoa. They had a really bad July. Yeah, I was going to remember like...

Eight in 16. Right. That's when the Orioles, Orioles came. And even like Yankees in Toronto looked like they were in play again. Every other month has been right around 600% winning. and then they had a 333 percentage in July. July just wasn't good for the raise. What was going on there?

What's going on in July, guys? I don't know. I don't know. Beavs, I don't know. Their other worst month was May when they went 17 and 12 for a 586 winning percentage. Bebs, if you could find out their record since Wander was suspended, I'm interested in that. Not saying everything's fully related to that.

But interesting week for the raise. They're at Minnesota. So, you know, battling for the strikeout crown. And then this weekend, in Baltimore, four games set. Like that. Raise high tea in Camden yards. That is going to be fun to watch. Rays are 18 and 8

since Wander since Wander's last game on August 12th. Okay. Are we just going to like Wander and... Oh, man. Okay. Seattle, HALOs, Off Day, Dodgers, and then Oakland. So they'll, uh, they're staying in this thing.

The West is going to get decided in the last two weeks, right? Everyone plays each other. So, Josh Lowe is really good. That's my final note. Guard dogs, halos, no. Again, we're at the part of the season where these teams are out of it. You can shout out Randall Gritchick,

because yes, he's been put on waivers a zillion times. He hits the walk out of single. There's some decent, really good pitching performances out there. Tyler Anderson does this thing. Bibi does his thing. Both Nailer. Cleveland has really,

freaking good young pitchers, man. I really wish they wouldn't have sold off Josh Bell and Savale and all. I just, you know, you know how I feel about it. I mean, and Guardians fans were mad at me for a second. Now they're agreeing with me. Like, what were they thinking?

Bo and Josh Naler. Still, sometimes we, sports, we just nod our heads when things happen. They're brothers and they're both hitting, like, on the same team. That's really cool. Me and my brother that doesn't exist. this, we're never going to do that. Logan O'Hoppy, homers, and back-to-back games, good to see him back.

But yeah, I mean, that series. Brett Phillips got called back up. Baseball's fun. Nice to see him there. Baseball's fun. Hold on. What about this guy, Shanoel? What about him?

What do you got on him? What's my scouting report? Safely, in his 16th straight game, beating Darren Irsaid's previous club record of 15 games, which happened in 1996. he's walked 13 times and struck out just 10 times in the 75 plate of prints. I love that. A lot of singles.

So his slash line after that first game, shout out to Dalton for these great notes. It's 283-427 OBP, 300 slug. Interesting. He's clearly trying to get on base and it's working, so I don't know. he's going to be an interesting stat line to look at the end of the season.

Treve, Orioles, who I just referenced and should be a fun one this weekend. They played the Boston Red Sox. Red Sox are still within striking distance of the wild card. They're six games back now, three weeks. They're not in which they're not in striking. Oh, Treve, what's this biased New York stuff, man? I'm just saying.

That's a lot of games. games to make up with 18 games left, dude, or whatever the heck it is. They are, the final blow hasn't happened yet. And I think they're about to play the Yankees, so they'll probably rack up a couple dubs this week. But yeah, they're still waiting for kind of the final punch, although they just, like, Paxton just went down.

You know, they're really, they're scrambling. It would be stuff of miracles and movies at this point. and maybe the story should be more so the Orioles and everyone patting their stats those first two days as they, what's that, 24 runs in two games? That's not bad. They're a good team, yeah. They came out strong in the first one.

It was five nothing in the six. They scored six more in the last two innings to get the dub there. That was just a... I haven't used the word shillacking in a while. That was a shalacking. By the Orioles there. Rushman doing his thing.

I definitely like watching this Orioles team. They're just dynamic, man. It's a lot of fun. Game two, both starters gave it up. Sale versus Flaherty. I actually talked to Jack after this one. Gunner Henderson makes it 12-6

in the seventh inning, and even the broadcast said, and the floodgates are open, it's a runaway. Well, Boston battles back. They scored three against Canoe in the ninth, but eventually he showed.

That's the door. They win 13 to 12. Baltimore had to use seven pitchers in that game, though. Shoof. So, Orioles, but you know, you find ways to win. You hold it off. You hold the rally off. I mean, good teams do things like this.

You're going to give up leads. You're going to have a bullpen day where you got to throw seven dudes, and they're not all going to be sharp. And it actually only takes one, but, you know, I don't know if I'd call a gutsy win. Just a win. A dirty, gross, disgusting win. Yes. My favorite type.

You'll take. Yeah. And then, yeah, you mentioned this. Grayson Rodriguez and Brian Bejo. Yeah. He's definitely not in AAA. Let's run them for the next six years and see what happens. Yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.

A lot of fun here. Kassas gets another homer in that last game. That was the decisive blow against my guy's swerving, Irvin. the bottom of the six. It made it seven to three. It was a four three game. It's just a fun series. I wish Boston was closer,

and I wish this was, you know, them fighting for that last wildcard spot, and it's just, it just isn't. It just isn't. A couple rain delays, mucked this up, too. Really nice catches.

McKennon, the first game and Raphael in the last game. Trev, you're kind of, you know, you're a man of good taste. People like your fashion, People like, you know, when you mess around and you do the slicked back hair. You're a big uniform guy.

We hear about that. The Boston Red Sox, we're at, this is the final hour. Go nuts or go home. 12 and 3 in the city connects this year, Treff. They lost on Saturday in the city connects. I think Sayle was wearing him. But they wore them again on Sunday and they, they're 12 and 3. I mean, that's got to be.

Houston at Houston, which they split that series. Then they lost two of three to the Dodgers. And they hosted Houston and they got swept. That hurts. They win a series against Kansas City And then they Lose a series at Tampa Lose 2 out of three

Lose 2 to Baltimore So it's just They play tough teams It's a gauntlet right there But I'm not giving them much hope I guess you're more hopeful than me I'm not I don't think it's there

So I'll Well I won't jump ahead to the Interleague But the Yankees Got their final death punch And it's just a different feeling I can't wait to hear you talk about that game, getting no hit like that. Oh, my gosh. So wins a win.

and it was like, whoa, if they don't hit the go button, and they have, and the Royals also helped that out. Royals helped that out. I'm happy Boba Shed is back. He had like a quad thing. He only missed nine games. Pretty good. Like a strained quad.

Big muscle. He got big old legs. I think he had back-to-back injuries, right? Like he sat out, sat out for something, came back for one or two games, and then he got banged up again. But, yeah, annual AL hit leader, Boba Chet, good to have him back. How about the starters for the Blue Jays, too? You got to love that.

The Blue Jays are a team. I feel like we've kind of glossed over a lot this season because they've been second, third in the ALEs. They've been kind of firmly in the wild card. We expect them to be in the playoffs. Nobody's going crazy on their year. But here they are. you know, like just kind of plugging along, doing their things.

Kikuchi goes five innings, one and run. Gossman goes eightings pitch, one and runs. Jose Bereas goes seven. He's pitch, two run runs. Like, this is a team that we could just be like, oh, shit. Like they just, they did what to this team in the playoffs? Like, I don't think anybody wants to play the Blue Jays. And you could say that about a lot of teams.

I'm not like saying they're the best team in the AL, but I'm not saying that they couldn't just go on a run and win the whole damn thing. Treve, do you want to... That is a ceiling for the Blue Jays. Do you want to have a real conversation quick? Yes, do it. Right now as the A.L. Playoff stands, and I think we stimulate Friday.

Friday's when the people need to be stimulated. As a playoff stand right now, it would be Toronto and Tampa in the three-game set because it's, you know, we've talked about a little bit. The twins are going to be locked into that three seed because they're going to be the AL Central champions. I don't know. Do you think we could possibly see any funny business of the standings at the end of the year

where teams may prefer to play the twins over the Rays or the Jays or however the seating would stack up? I don't think so. Okay. I don't think so. You got to beat the best teams anyway. You've got to go through them. You're going to hope for someone else to do the dirty business for you.

By the way, Toronto, matching up against the race. They still have a bunch of games left against them because they've only played them seven times or three and four against the race this year. So you can't really tell much from that. But to answer your question, I do not believe that there will be funny business, people trying to lose games so they can play Minnesota. Okay.

Okay. I think it's a, I think we're probably going to have the conversation again as we hit that final week and we have everyone's, you know, what was your record against the twins this year? What was your record against the raise this year? Because if you're the five or six team and you're going to be. Three and three against Minnesota. If you're going to be on the road, I don't know. I could see depending how far away each team is separated. I think there's a little bit of a combo. But I do think you're right. Like team, at this. point teams are just trying to win games be the best versions of themselves and you're going to have to beat someone along the way. Only other AL thing, Texas, two out of three from the A's scary when they lose that first game and the second game's close to as they're skidding. They end up getting two out of three. That was when times are bad in baseball, times get bad quick. They get a couple wins and now for them, they're heading to Toronto for four games and it's a little bit you have to

stop the nosedive now. Otherwise we could be here on Friday being like Texas is three, two and a half games out of the wild card or something like that? That's horrifying. Yeah, I mean this is, they're only a game and a half back of Toronto in the wild card

standings. They've only won how many games, six games in their last 22. They're not exactly playing banger and ball, but the recipe for that is to play the A's, get you a series victory. Feel that again. Iovaldi's like working back. He, you know, throws, I think this is an interesting thing.

So they're getting him back and he threw like on three days rest, but only 45, 50 pitches. They're trying to like build him back up. So that's something to watch because they do, they play Toronto. And then Cleveland, you know, they're not in it. But like I said, they have some young guys that can freaking throw it, dude. Like so that's not like an easy. this is not the, you know,

Royals or the A's where you should definitely go win that series. You're going to have to play some good ball. Boston, I believe it's going to keep going and, like, they're not giving up. They don't do that. Jake, you think they're still going to make it. Then Seattle, they play Seattle seven out of the last 10 games.

They're 13 games above the Debecks who are 75 and 69. Giant 73 and 70 Padres. 10 games under 500, 67 and 77, and the Rockies play Cole Tucker. I'm not even going to give the standards for you until you play Cole Tucker. In the wild card.

And they're two games ahead of the Diamondbacks who have the third wild card right now, but they're only a half game up on the Marlins. They're one and a half games up on the Giants and the Reds. It's going to come down to the last day of the season.

Gallin was incredible more on what happened with him and his catcher later in the episode but dude I mean what else is there to say about is that gallon I mean this is These are like must-win games right here. Like I'm not going to sugarcoat it.

They really are. Like this is, when you play a team that's in front of you, you've got to get these victories. And you're talking about your team gives you one run. And you get the dub for your team because you say, get on my back. I'm going nine shut. Against a Cubs team that, you know, I'm not going to say their offense is great, but like this is not a team to get shut out a lot. And you went into their, fucking.

Do you have, um, I, you know, I know some people say it was those twins teams, Achilles' heels, but do you have any memories of like a pitcher doing this, like a one-nothing game? Like, that's got to be, Like Zach Gallin in the clubhouse after the game that they won one-nothing and you pitched a complete game shutout, that's got to be, that energy's got to be pretty cool.

I want to say Carl Povano had like three complete games in 2010 when like, you know, we were a really good team. Sure. Beams, check that out. Carl Povano's 2010 steps. That's where we always end up. But he did, he always walked around like he's got a third leg. So, like, that's just Carl Pavano.

snakes brewers. Snakes brewers for three games. I like it. They do end up playing Arizona again right after Colorado. So that's another interesting set there. But I like Chicago Cubs remaining schedule. I mean, the last six games are Atlanta, Milwaukee, but Atlanta at that point, what are they going to even be doing? Are they going to just be eating donuts and

like basically batting practice yeah what are they going to be doing at that point they've already clinched everything they need home field advantage so that's the one thing i guess if the braves still haven't clinched home field advantage they'll be doing their thing they're not just going to give up in the games i'm joking people but there's definitely a they ain't going to give at all if they've already clinched all that stuff and some other guys can be playing and the pitchers are going to be taken out of the games earlier and we're going to be mixing and matching finding out you know situations, guys are going to rest. But the Cubs, the Cubs are in.

But the Marlins don't care. The Marlins care about your gorgeous. swing, bro? They don't. Philly in game two, three-run Homer,

on a ninth pitch of an abat for Schwabur. That put him at 40, I believe. Philly goes up 5-0. Marlins answer back. They make it 5-4 in the 5th, and then Marsh hits a big three-run double, kind of put the game out of reach. So Phillies win that one.

And then the Marlins, Trey turned out another beautiful swing. Schwabre hits 43. So that was not his 40th homer, you idiot. Suarez has a no-no through six and a third. And then the Marlins tied the game up in the top of the seventh. Robertson K's bone with the bass is loaded in the bottom of the seventh, which is an awesome, like visual because he's played for that team.

And he's now on the Marlins, which kind of, that's like the one jersey. He looks really good in all the jerse. I don't know, Dave Robertson looks right in a Marlins jersey. It's a lot of sock. The socks jump out a little too much. I am oh. He's always been a lot of sock guy. Right, but I think it's the

Marlins' color scheme that the socks pop up just a little too much. Okay. Daly Cruz, again, says go screw yourself, Coach Traveman to Homer to put us up. There's the power you wanted. Put us up 5'3, and then I thought

this was great. Tanner Scott gets stuck. Scott gets stuck. Scott's tops. With a run-on-third base to end the game. Yeah, Dane Myers breaks up the no-no. survive a no hitter and you come and you win that game. That's got to feel pretty good for the fish as they try to stay in this.

And the other thing, you know, sometimes we're going to see some efforts to finish off this season that are going to get teams in the playoff. Tanner Scott's two appearances in this series, really big. And how about didn't have this? Andrew Nardi, 11.1% of Inherited Runner scored is tied with Guardians, Nick Sandless, Sandlin for lowest in MLB with at least 30 pitches. So, hey, those, uh, we normally read the other side of the stat.

You start with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Braves take two or three from them. There is like a little scuffle-ish between Acuna and Oviedo.

But, you know, I mean, the Braves, the Braves are going to win two out of three from the pirates almost every single time they play. so this isn't very much much to talk about here. Same thing. Well, this is an interesting one. Cardinals take two of three from the movies. Okay.

And one thing I will mention on this is Hunter Green. Yeah. Stepping up and winning the last game. Being a stopper, this is the guy that they need him to beat. And it was dominant.

He walked four people in the six innings, which you know, that's something that he'll have to continue to work on as his location and his command, but he only gives it one hit, gives up the 9Ks. That's, I think that's big time ball. Because you're looking at a sweep and you're looking at, like, you know, moving further back away from the wild card, and here he comes and shuts the door. I think that's worth mentioning in a series that I probably wasn't going to talk about much.

Like, that's what the brewers do. They just keep you around. We've got enough guys in our bullpen that are going to do their thing. Our defense is going to do their thing.

Trev, where'd you end up landing? I know you were struggling for a little bit on this. I was going back and forth. There's a couple guys I thought about giving to Aaron Hicks is a guy. I almost went to, he went three for four with the homer, three ribbies on Saturday. I thought about giving to our guy, McGee Rojas, he went four for five on Sunday with the RBI. I ended up going with George Springer. He went three for four with two homers and four RBI in his game on Saturday.

and the reason I did that is because the slug hasn't been there for him this year. He's a 484 slug guy he's slugging 413 this year. I love watching him hit and in my mind I'm like, dang, like this guy is a power hitter

and if you look at like what he's done, he has been that. He had 39 homers in 2009. Yeah, man. sitting at 19 right now. So my thought process with this is you hit the two homer game, maybe you feel something, maybe you start to slug a little bit more towards the end of the year

to get your numbers back to like your career norms because that's kind of what happens. If George Springer starts to hit a bunch of homers here and gets hot at the right time, a la the playoffs, like I think that might happen. In my mind, we're going to see some Springer

Dingers, some bombs. Is he hitting lead off for the Blue Jays? Because those are some of my favorite things is Springer-Dinger homers open up a game. It's got a great swing, violent, beautiful swing. Yeah, he's been leading off.

Yeah, in my mind, that's where I'm going here is Springer hits these two homers. He'll get to 20. He's now had 20 or more homers in one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. If he does it this year, which you will, eight of ten years, 20 or more homers from your lead off guy who is just, talk about energy on a field.

I mean, I feel like that's what George Springer is. Everybody should want this guy in their ball club. Blue Jays went out and signed him. Shout out to homers. I think he gets hot. That's my, uh, my prediction here. I think the homers start to come for George Springer. It's the, uh, it's the fun part about, baseball, especially this time of year. You know, George Springer's numbers are okay. They're below what George Springer is. He's one dotting in September.

Zach Gallen, I'm, I'm gonna cut it. And, you know, I've been a little pitcher, heavy recently, but this is a complete game shutout, nine innings, in a one-nothing game against a team that is directly ahead of you in the wildcard standings. This was a playoff game. And Zach Gallen, who finished fifth in the Cy Young voting last year, I think it's safe to say he's going to be inside that again. That'll be back-to-back years for him. I think he's a year removed from free agency, and Zach Gallen is going to become a name that's a lot more popular in your lexicon. And man, if he gets a playoff start, dude is nasty. He's one of the best pitchers in

baseball. He just turned 28, and he's a big, he might end up having 34 starts this year. He's got 30 starts, 15 and 7 with a 3-3-1. He is an ace. He is an ace. It's, you know, there's parts of the internet and world where you can get into arguments about who's an ace and who's not an ace. Zach Gallin is an ace, and he showed that at Wrigley. So doubling up on the love for him. I really like it because the last two games prior, not so hot for Zach Gallen. You face the Dodgers in LA, goes five and a third, six earned run. Then he goes to post-Baltimore at home goes five-and-third, five-earned runs.

with, you know, no case, four Ks against Baltimore, three Ks against the Dodgers. You know, so you're at this point of the season. You're like, am I getting arm fatigue? What's going on? Then you're like, no, in a big game and a series we need, let me go nice shot for you.

Justin Steele is on this list every single time we do it. Three games started, 21 innings pitch.

That's a seven innings pitch per start. Nice math right there. 14 hits, only one or one. run. Stanford, 26Ks. What are we doing here, people? He allowed his first run since August 24th,

Bam! Gotcha. So I started looking up. What do we got here for stolen bases and catchers throwing them out? Yeah. Well, Gabriel Moreno, a 52% of 52% caught stealing percentage. 29 people,

which is like nothing, by the way, have tried to steal against him. He's thrown out 15 of them, over 50%. Now I know pitchers are also helping out in this regard. They're holding runners. You have to hold the runner

to give your catcher a shot. But the catcher has to do it. He's got to transfer the ball. He's got to make an accurate throw. Bam. Gabriel Morano's average pop time,

1.9. You know who's leading? Baseball in pop times? I bet you can guess. Real Muto. My guy. J.T. Riyomoto. All I'm saying people with this award is,

I think we should give like an extra special gold glove. So these catchers who are throwing out runners and have the quickest pop time because it's become let's do it it's become bullshit bro like these stolen bases it's not even fair to these catchers and I know

that like the catching position is so cool because they're so selfless catchers they have to be because they have to worry about all these idiots and the pitching staff you got it's like your it's daycare for them they got to take care of all these guys oh how are you feeling today you don't have your good stuff okay let me figure some things out will make it work. Oh, you can't throw strikes. Let me try

to steal some strikes for you. Let me talk to the umpire. Calm him down. You know what I mean? Like there's so many responsibilities for a catcher that goes way beyond just catching and throwing or hitting. They have to think about all these other things. So I want to give an extra special award

to guys that actually get the job done defensively as well. I'm talking about throwing specifically here because that gets my juices going. Gabriel Moreno, 52% caught stealing. You'll never be able to guess the next guy. On a million years. Austin wins.

Oh, 44%. James McCann, 44%. Andy Rodriguez, 40%. Those are the only guys over 40%. It's a difficult time to be a catcher, man. A difficult time to be a catcher. But Moreno, to me, stands out above the rest with a 52%. That's crazy stuff right there.

So I wanted to give the award, the bounty hunter award, catching the guys stealing. And again, if you haven't shown your catcher some love, show your catcher some love. It is a daunting, daunting position. And these guys are just getting a job done. So shout out Gabriel Marino and J.T. Romuto for being my guys there, the bounty hunters. Chasing the Braves' career season RBI lead. Gary Sheffield, I think has a 132 or something out there.

So, Yordaun, Matt Olson, who's got a 1.3.8. And right ahead of him, a guy that's had a little bit of, I don't want to say enigmatic, because it's still a good year. Kyle Schwerber, 1.47. Those are your three best lefties so far in September.
