Starting point is 00:00:01 Hello and welcome to talking baseball. Power is power. Power rankings. Me and Trev already have pre-regret. Where is your team? Let's find out. Let's talk ball. Ranger Suarez. Danny Valencia. Hello and welcome to talking baseball presented to you by Fanatics Markets where fans trade on sports. I'm Jake Storelli. That is Trevor Plouf. Bobby Sarachi producing. sheet together and I think they're heavy involved today. We submitted our power rankings. Me and Trevor flying blind right now. Uh, so we'll see. And it, Trev, I think you're about to echo what I'm about to say, but putting them together and, man, that 12 to 24 crop, you're just kind of like, I don't, this could switch with one good start. Like, it, it feels, it's everything we've been saying, but doing this exercise, it brought it to life.
Starting point is 00:01:13 yeah I mean yeah it does it echoes the standings it echoes kind of just the way the season has gone I agree like I'm looking at the pirates don't like where they're ranked the nationals who like I wanted to give a little love to don't love where they're ranked so I guess we'll get into it but yeah I do I think like the top tier was pretty easy to me and some of those teams are interchangeable but like there is a top tier and then probably a second tier and then after that it's like just a big jumble and I think it's just a big jumble and I think it's Again, you can echo this if you want, but it was also, there's a couple teams that at a certain point you have to put them down on the sheet. You're just like, wait, how much are the Cardinals winning? Like, can I not put them in the top 10? You kind of almost forces your hand. So I don't know. Excited to see where you've landed and excited to see how we're going to do this because
Starting point is 00:02:08 I guess we're doing a slightly different format. So I don't, am I kicking a bob? am I kicking a doll? Who's getting involved here? I think we just go top tier. I think we go top tier because, you know, those teams, in my opinion, were pretty easy to rank. And I think there is a, I think there's a top three team, but I think you can probably say there's four. And I'll give the Yankees that. Because I do have the Yankees at four. So I think I'll start there. That's a great place for us. New York or nothing right now, baby. I have the Yankees at four. I think they are.
Starting point is 00:02:43 a somewhat complete roster, obviously, without Aaron Judge right now, still getting the job done. I think that's to me why they deserve to be up here too, because, you know, they, people think it's a lot of its judge and nobody else, but man, they have a up and down that lineup has been playing really, really well. And I think people don't give enough credit to the starting rotation, which they should. And you guys kind of have your qualms about the bullpen, but so does almost every single team all in all, I have them at four and I think that's kind of where the end
Starting point is 00:03:16 of the first tier is for me and I'm curious to see where you have them. As we always start off when we do power rankings, the fourth best team this year. I also have the New York Yankees. Okay. Okay, a couple ball knowers.
Starting point is 00:03:33 Well, I like going from down up because I do think I'm curious where you have the next three. I think we probably have the same team, but they could be interchange. So I wanted to go for yanks. Is there anything I missed there? I mean, I don't know. No, Yankee fans are in an interesting spot. The team is, you know, right now there's no judge. There's no Stanton. There's no Max Fried, which, okay, every team has injuries. Let's not do that for every team. But the offense
Starting point is 00:04:02 itself, because this Yankee's starting pitching has been one of the stories of this season, right? It was like, hey, where's the Yankees pitching going to be come midseason? Schlittler's more than we thought. like he's running away with the Cy Young right now. Freed's banged up. Cole's back. He's had a couple of hiccups. But like Carlos Rodon doesn't get mentioned. And like look where what he did last season.
Starting point is 00:04:23 He posted every day 200 innings a three flat ERA that with that they're stretching out some prospects to get started. It, it just is what's next because their lineup right now is a little bit being patched to get. Paul Goldschmidt's going nuts, which it's like, hey. But Goldschmidt. You got belly. You got freaking Ben Rice, who you guys were on early. Like he's been so freaking good.
Starting point is 00:04:49 You're getting what you probably would expect out of Jose Caballero. The catching is a soft spot for you guys. There's no doubt about that. Yes. The catching and the court, like, judges hurt, which changes the outlook of the Yankees significantly. But the left side of the infield is a little bit of a dance. the, that again, these are first world problems for some of the teams we're going to talk to.
Starting point is 00:05:15 But the other thing that's just a part of this conversation, the American League is shocking, Treve. It's shocking. Like I want to give the Mariners some love. I want to believe in a central team. And it's tough, dude, outside of the race. We're going to pop up soon. Okay. So I have the Yankees, my first AAL team.
Starting point is 00:05:38 I'm assuming you do too. Yes. Who's your three? My third team is the Atlanta Braves. I went with the Braves. Obviously, they've been incredible in one of the teams of this year, but the two teams ahead of them, which I think people could start to put together,
Starting point is 00:05:59 have been hotter. And how about I'll reveal this? My two teams is the Milwaukee Brewers. And Mizorowski is, is honestly a significant game chance. When I look at those two teams right now, I'm looking at the Brewers who have Mizorowski, who's pitching at a level we've never seen.
Starting point is 00:06:19 They just got Brandon Woodruff back, which every time I mentioned Brandon Woodruff, I mention how he's like, if you do best starters of the 2020s, he's on the list kind of injury history there. So let's see. And we know what they can do to any pitcher. You still look at the Braves rotation
Starting point is 00:06:35 and you're like, how are you guys getting it done at this level. And some of the, like at their last 30 games aren't as impressive where the brewers and the team above them have kind of really announced themselves into this season. Yeah, I could have went. I mean, I have the same two teams. I have the Brewers three and I have the Braves too very, very much interchangeable for me. I love the Braves bullpen. It's been the best bullpen in baseball. So there's a little bit of separate for me. I keep going back to Milwaukee. Their offense has been fantastic. There's no doubt about, I think that's been probably the most surprising thing for me about these top teams. It's just how good that offense has been. They have not hit
Starting point is 00:07:16 homers. That's been my big thing lately. Like, they need to trade for a power bat. I don't know if they're going to get that done. It's kind of not there what they do. They did get Andrew Vaughn last year and he did hit some homers and that was a great addition for them. But 20th and homers right now, not going to get the job done. Love both these teams. I think they are. interchangeable at two and three, in my opinion. Full force, full rosters. I know, with Acuna being out, it's a little tough, but I think full rosters, I have the Braves just a tick above.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I do think that starting pitching for the Brewers is better, but the Braves is, like, I don't know, it's good enough. And I don't even think that's the right word to describe it. Yeah, it's just, I mean, Chris Sale has been Chris Sale, Bryce Elder seems like he pops up here and there where he has these stretches. I mean, okay, I'll just do names.
Starting point is 00:08:14 And this is where power is power. And Braves fans, if you want to be mad, Sale, Elder, Holmes, Richie and Perez round out the Braves five right now. Put some respect on our team Perez's name.
Starting point is 00:08:26 I know. I know. It's an amazing career. What's in his basement? But yeah, when I look at the Brewers right now and I'm putting together a playoff rotation, their bullpen always finds. away. And yet, I honestly, like, like we're saying, these two teams are so close.
Starting point is 00:08:43 I just kind of went like, all right, at this point of the season, like even the last, the last 20 games, the last 30 games, the Brewers are 19 and 11 in their last 30. The Braves are 16 and 14. Last 20, 12 and 8, Braves, 9 and 11, last 10, 6 and 4, Braves 3 and 7. Like the Braves have run into their hiccup where it feels like the brewers are still picking up, but like they just added Cooper Pratt. I'm not sure what he is, but they think he's something, which if that organization thinks you're something, they got a pretty good track record.
Starting point is 00:09:16 I would say the only caveat I would put on it would be, I believe in a little bit in Atlanta more come the deadline because I think budget-wise and just what the path this team has taken to get there, they'll be willing to put the chips more in. but yeah, the Braves, I still, it's a funky roster, dude. I know they've gotten a lot of contributions. We've been on Dom Smith since the start of the season. Like, their bench is just a bunch of guys we've liked Joey Bart,
Starting point is 00:09:49 Rowdy, Tell us Hassan Kim right now. I don't know. Again, stuff like that can get fine-tuned as the season goes. But I think if they lined up in a playoff series right now, the Mizorowski factor is also significant. Yeah, you look at the, especially a five-game set. You look at what they'd be rolling out
Starting point is 00:10:07 with Woodruff back now, and it's pretty impressive. And I know that they just played three in Atlanta. The Braves had to, what, walk them off twice? Or is a one-run game, a walk-off? They had some crazy, awesome games. Eli White saving the game with a nice throw there. Ozzy Albies with a backdoor Homer for a walk-off.
Starting point is 00:10:27 Yeah, I mean, and that was in my mind when I did this. It's just, you know, a little bit of recency bias is fine. Hey guys, just want to give a shout out to our girl Swilly. She's been killing it. If you don't follow her on social media, media yet, Swilly Sports, so much good content. Baseball-wise, she dips her tend and some World Cup stuff has been coming out. Swilly is the best. You've seen her on this program before.
Starting point is 00:10:49 You're going to see her more. She's awesome. Go follow Swilly. I think those two teams are interchangeable. Obviously, number one for both of us is the Dodgers. I got the hat on right now. Snapshot on their fan grass page. best offense in baseball and it's not even close
Starting point is 00:11:04 first and average OBP OPS second in runs and second in home runs their starting pitchers are first in ERA first in WIP the relief pitchers 10th in ERA but fifth in whip and then as far as their defense goes I mean they are absolutely crushing it
Starting point is 00:11:20 first in DRS second and outs above average it's a complete roster and they're not even healthy yet like they're going to get more starting pitching which I don't even know what the hell they're going to do with, to be honest with you. Kick some guys to the bullpen. I think that Emmett Sheehan's probably on a short leash. There has been some comments from Dave Roberts about that,
Starting point is 00:11:42 but that's going to be great for them because Snell and Glass Now are going to be in that rotation at some point. I just saw Snell posting Instagram of him draining some putt at a mini golf spot. So he's just winning right now. You got to get back. But when it's all said and done, this is the best roster in baseball. Yeah. Will Smith, Kike and Teosker, the Hernandez is on the IL, Glass Now, Snell, a bunch of bullpen pieces.
Starting point is 00:12:08 Yet Dodgers fans let us know what are we missing? I feel like Dodger fans haven't been that loud this year. It's for what do they need to be allowed for right now. I know. I think you're right. I sense to the guys in their rotation. We never talk about Yoshinobi. He's got a 265.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Robleski's got a 271. Just shoved up my twins. You know what. Otani's got a 147. He's been struggling as of late and has a 147. He's pitching today against Joe Ryan. Can't wait for that. And then Roki, who's pitched a lot better.
Starting point is 00:12:46 He's been like one of their worst starters. He's got a 476. But again, I think he's on his way up. Emit Sheehan's probably going to be the guy that's out when Snow comes back. The bullpen's been, And this is the year we haven't even talked to at the bullpen because they've been so good. And this is, they don't have Edward and Diaz, but they have a bunch of guys in the back end that are just having fantastic years. So this is, yeah, they're the number one team.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Yeah, I don't, I don't think it's debate. I don't think it's even one of those, you and I going a power is power speech because they're the two times champ. I think even if they weren't the two time defending champs, we would still have them as the power as power. I'm congrats Dodgers oh Jake Salty that's team that's tier one to me I'm jealous I think you're right I'm happy my Yankees made the cut
Starting point is 00:13:38 and yeah they what the Yankees have done this year they I don't do they deserve to be with those teams I don't know we'll find out it'll be interesting to see next power rankings so I guess kick off the next tier Trev because I okay let's let how about this you and I pick
Starting point is 00:13:56 out how many teams we think make up the next tier. I think I have it. How many teams make up the next tier? Yeah, I would say, I think, I think two for me. Ooh, you're a, you're a small hall tier guy. Okay. Yeah, because then honestly after that, I think teams start to get jumbled up. So I have the Phillies, I have the Phillies at five and the raise at six. Fills at five, raise at six. Let's go, Trex. you have? Yes. Okay, I think that is the second tier. Philly is obviously a horrible start to the year, but everything is ticking up for them.
Starting point is 00:14:34 I still think their offense is very, very top heavy. But I do think Dombrowski swings for the fences when it comes to the trade deadline. I think he has to. Like, they're in such a win now mode as their entire core starts to get older. But Bryce and Schwartz have been incredible. You know what Brandon Marsh has done. I don't know how it's sustainable that is throughout the year. But they've been getting contributions from, I mean, they're starting pitching, I think, in a series, like a short series can line up with anybody.
Starting point is 00:15:08 They have great back of the bullpen guys. This is a team to me that, and they are sort of a team that I can't quit. But the way they've played as of late, I think puts them in this tier. And then the raise have been doing it all season long. So I'm glad we have those two teams. Yeah, I guess the debate for me. was like you said, do you make it a two-tier thing? Or I think you could bring it out to five
Starting point is 00:15:30 and you could have some teams jump along. But I think you're probably right with the Phillies here, Coach. Like they, you know, I know we have all the stats since Maddingly took over. 34 and 17. Like that would be, that would have them in the tier above this. They did start out 9 and 19. And like you're saying, they feel a little, there's some dents in the armor.
Starting point is 00:15:54 There's, where's Trey Trey, Turner at and like that corner outfield that we're always searching for how how did the Phillies get to the next step it does feel like Dumbrowski is one of the biggest snakes in the grass right now that you feel like what's he willing to put on the table to for this team that feels like they're towards the end of their window remember we had all the conversations about that but when you're pitching also pitches like that with their playoff formula wheeler Sanchez my god like they they can do whatever they want that yes I had them, and I had them above the race because as power is power it goes,
Starting point is 00:16:30 hey, the Phillies were supposed to be these guys. And the raise are just heading the wrong direction that, hey, I don't want to take credit away from them for their start of the season because it's a long season and those wins still count. And, hey, if you figure it out in the final week of September, you're the hottest team going in the playoffs. I still enjoy their pitching. It's taking a step back.
Starting point is 00:16:51 And yeah, that lineup, you could talk yourself different ways around it. The lineup is probably, I mean, I think most of these teams that we're going to get into, right, like from this point on, maybe save a few, it's top-heavy stuff. And I think that's just throughout the league where I think it's just more difficult than ever to find hitters. Like guys that are going to, you know that are going to be there. Now you're going to get spurts from the middle of your lineup down that they're going to play well. at certain times. But as far as like guys that you can plug in and you know like the numbers are going to be there, I think it's just hard to find. So we're going to see a lot. Like obviously with
Starting point is 00:17:36 the race, you got their top three guys in Yandi, Camerro and Aranda. Those are going to be their guys. Look what Ryan Valade is doing. I know we always joke because he's got good hair and hits homers and we kind of like just like the way he plays. But like he's he's starting to step up. It's only 46 games, not a ton of played appearances. Him and Johnny Luka. Okay. Like that's a a nice bottom part of the order, but I do think it gets a little thin beyond that. But it's different parts of the game for them. They have, you know, some speed and that plays, but I would say that for the Phillies, too. I mean, they have a very top heavy lineup as of right now. But I think that's just kind of the weight of baseball. Besides the honestly, the Dodgers,
Starting point is 00:18:23 the Braves, I think the Yankees, when they're healthy, I'll give it to the Brewers because they just, have, I mean, they find ways to get it done. After that, like, name me a team that has, like, a long lineup. Like, I can't, I don't know. I think, like, the Pirates at the beginning of the year sort of had that. That's where... The A's might have it? I don't know, like...
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yeah, it's where, like, the white socks on the right night feel like they... Yeah, so, like, that's... I think the lineup stuff is kind of a moot point now, and really, like, a lot of this a lot of my rankings are like, can you play D? like, how's your small ball game and what's your bullpen doing? Because that's going to be the separator between the rest of these teams going forward. Okay. So Philly's raise are five and six.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Let's round out your top 10. Walk me through it. I don't love it, coach. But these teams have been playing well as of late. I still, I'm a Mariners guy still. So I have them at seven. I think they have a very good recipe. Now, like, their offense needs to go,
Starting point is 00:19:34 but I think they have the guys to do it. And as we get, like, later into the season, I feel like they have the defensive or, like, the pitching side to keep them in baseball games, and they have enough offense. Cal Raleigh, obviously, back. He has not been himself at all, but, like, I trust the track record.
Starting point is 00:19:56 And Mariners fans probably don't agree with you right now because I know that he's just been on the struggle bus. Like, Nailer needs to get it going, but, like, I also believe that he will get it going. And then a couple of the young guys, you know, we know about Cole Young and offensively, it's been a mixed bag. Like, there's been some good stretches
Starting point is 00:20:12 and some not-so-good stretches. Randy just got back. That's big for them. They need Brendan Donovan in this lineup. Your guy, Dominic Ken's zone has been fantastic. Like, I think when, like, this team can be part of the discussion that has a longer lineup. they just haven't got there yet this year.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But they're my number 17. Today's episode is sponsored by Lids. America's 250th birthday is coming up and Lids has something special to celebrate. The Americana collection has custom pins, patches, jerseys, and caps. So whether you're heading out to fireworks, going to a game, or just firing up the grill, you and your crew can rep your team in your country at the same time. All new collections dropping with plenty of options to choose from. It's kind of stuff that just fits the moment.
Starting point is 00:20:58 July 4th baseball season and a historic milestone all at once. Head to your nearest lid store to find the perfect year for the holiday. Save 15% on your in-store purchase when you text John Boy to 29017. 8 is the white socks for me, and that could be pretty high, I think. But when I've watched them play. I've watched them give the business to the twins. A lot of people talk about their starting pitching, but I do think if you go up and down, they have guys that on any night
Starting point is 00:21:27 can just like step up and throw a gym. And like they've been pretty good. A lot of people point to their bullpen. I think they do have decent arms back there, but that could be somewhere where they upgrade. And then as far as the lineup goes, when they are healthy, they have a nice mix of power and speed.
Starting point is 00:21:43 I think they can score runs in different ways. So I like their lineup as one of the longer. That's why they are where they're at. So that's eight. Nine and ten for me, I went Cardinals and Cubs. And the Cardinals are one of those. teams you're talking about like they just you said it at the beginning the show like they just
Starting point is 00:22:00 continue to win um i think they're getting i think they're getting better starting pitching than they could have ever imagined um this year and they play good defense and i think that they're very similar to um the white socks where like they have their main cogs that are going to hit jordan walker's been fantastic as we know but they have a one of the longer lineups when on when things are going right. So I like the Cardinals there. And the Cubs to me, I want to believe, dude, Edward Cabrera going down, that hurts a lot. So like I made these rankings before I saw that happen last night. And I don't know how much that changes their fortunes, but I think it does. So that's my, that's my top 10. Yeah, for the Cubbies, I, for, there's one team that's going to
Starting point is 00:22:56 get left out of the top 10 that hurts. I did not do the Cubbies. And hey, I think a record-wise, I have the Cubs at nine. They, Edward Cabrera, who, you know, has kind of struggled for them a little bit this year. They've been killed with pitching injuries. But they do have, like, technically they're tied with the eighth best record in baseball
Starting point is 00:23:24 with the White Sox and the Padre. It's like, it's everything we've talked about with the Cubs. Like, obviously that ship has been heading the wrong direction, and you can point to a lot of injuries and performance and, you know, the whole dance. But as we're doing that down here, I have, okay, I have St. Louis at 7. I have Seattle at 8. I have the Cubs at 9. And then my 10th team, I have the Padres.
Starting point is 00:23:47 So I ended up boxing out the White Sox. I have them as my 11 team. And then it seems like you, you ended up. boxing out the Padres. And Treb, I think the thing that we noted at the start, we're just, we're talking about very flawed teams right now, which I feel like, I feel like we've done power rankings where we put the eighth team down and we're like, oh, is this going to hurt us? Like, are they, they feel like they have World Series juice. These seven, eight, nine teams, like the Mariners and Cubs had daydreams of that, but it's been,
Starting point is 00:24:26 nightmarish. Thank God the Mariners won the past two games. Otherwise, I don't even know if you could, in theory, top 10, them, which we shouldn't be doing at this point of the season, but it's how they've been playing where, I don't know, it hurt me a lot to not put the baby socks in the top 10 because it's so fun what they're doing. I just, I still believe in my core that as the season starts to go, that a team like the Mariners, a team like the Cubs, a team like the Padres is going to be able to find something. But that also could be blatantly wrong because it feels like the White Sox call up a new kid every day
Starting point is 00:25:05 who gives them extra juice and extra depth. The difference between the White Sox and the Mariners right now, I mean, you would say you might give a pitching edge to the Mariners. I think the lineup is not even really close the way they're performing right now. I think that Chicago, especially with Murakami, is back, is just a different type of offense. So who'd you leave out? You left the white socks out.
Starting point is 00:25:35 I had the white socks at 11. I think the Cubs are at 10 for me. Like their offense has been great. And they are, I think that's another team you could put in with a long lineup. But like if you look at the starters and what they got going now, that is not what they envisioned coming into this year. Thank goodness for Ben Brown and what he's been able to do. but they're super super banged up our guy hobby are Assad keep it going baby they're super
Starting point is 00:26:01 super super banged up and i don't they're going to have to in this national league they keep finding ways to win and they're going to have to do that and i feel like that's like a difficult task in today's game like they're winning baseball games uh thank goodness for PCA and what he's been able to do i think single-handedly he's won them a ton of games um but they're a team that I'm I think top 10 might be a stretch if we're being honest and we both have them in there you have them
Starting point is 00:26:32 much higher than I do what do you have them at eight I have them at nine so let's not I can't really see the ranking let's not let's not go crazy about it and hey if you're talking about they still defensively where the Dodgers were I don't want to say shockingly high but again
Starting point is 00:26:48 the Dodgers seemingly having everything the Cubs who we kind of thought were going to be the defensive team of this season. They are grading out at the top. With that, and if PCA gives you a nut job week, which he does, like Danzby has started to turn it around after being in the bad place for a while. Like, think the name still get me. And if I'm going to go down with the Cubs ship this year, I mean, so are the Cubbies.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Like, Bregman was supposed to be their final chess move. But yeah, with Cade Horton, Matthew Boyd, Justin Steele, like that was supposed to be, there's another universe. where those three are healthy and we're talking about this Cubs playoff rotation. We're not. They're out. Yeah. Yeah, it's scary, but I'm still going to lean into that lineup and defense over the Padres and the White Sox for now. Seattle, I think it's going to kick in that I still have them at eight. And St. Louis, hey, I've been waving the St. Louis flag because of a certain incident that happened in Orlando, Florida, and December. but like I don't how they've been playing you have to put them above those teams and that's the
Starting point is 00:27:56 trick of the power rankings that you know going to preseason yeah that that would have been tough to swallow they've been awesome awesome and they haven't really slipped up every time it looks like they're gonna they've bounced back my next ranking is probably my you know when like someone drafts a defense too early in a in a fancy football draft and you go really No. This is a reach for me. I have the nationals. Okay. Wow. So they're my 11 team. I wanted to reward them 26 and 22 over the last two months from May through today in June. Obviously one of the more fun offenses in all of baseball and they've just continued to do that. And that's kind of been not necessarily a shock, but yeah, it's been a shock.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I think a couple guys you expect to go off. James Wood just continue to get better. But they score a ton of runs. They're a lot of fun to watch. But I do think they're getting better pitching as of late than they would have ever expected. Like Foster Griffin has turned into like, all right, like this guy could be for real here. He's 30 years old, dude.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Like he's having a good year so far. And then, yeah, like Miles Miclis has been bad. he's turned it around a little bit, like him, Cavali and Latel are all just like, all right, all right, like just keep it within arm's reach because our offense can do it. They're a fun story. Two games over 500 right now. I wanted to give them a little love,
Starting point is 00:29:32 but I do think this is a reach. Today's episode is sponsored by Hymns. If something's been off in the bedroom, you're not the only one people. I have the Nats at 12th. And this almost isn't a nationals problem.
Starting point is 00:30:42 This is almost the rest of the team's problem because, you know, our power rankings gets the most engagement from comments, from people on the streets, from like actual MLB teams end up reaching out to us, which is insane. But like, thank you guys because you guys allow all that chaos to happen. The Washington Nationals and the following teams that are going to be mentioned, the Nats have been straight up better than them. Like it's non-negotiable of the next teams coming up on the power ranking. that they were another team that I just, I have to put them down now
Starting point is 00:31:21 because I can't say that the other teams have been, there's one team, the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Guardians, I have them at 14, so I'm jumping around a little bit, that they have an argument, but they also, they torture me year and year out. They lost J-Ram, like some of their, some of their stats and information are horrifying, but they continue to be the Guardians where, I guess looking at this right now, they could have an argument,
Starting point is 00:31:49 but they always have an argument, and I never know what to do with them. Nationals, to me, biggest surprise team in baseball this year, a ton of fun. Bullpen's terrifying, and the starting pitching is not great, but again,
Starting point is 00:32:03 doing well enough where they're racking up wins. I have the guard dogs next at 12. And there, I just said this before the show, before you're here. I think this is some of their best starting pitching they've had in a while, which is scary. Now, their offense, bad.
Starting point is 00:32:20 The offense is bad, especially when you have the guys that are out right now, J. Ram DeLotter and Anhele Martinez, like, that really hurts them. Because they don't, I mean, Bazan has picked up the slack a little bit, and they're going to get their contributions from fucking Brian Rochio, because they always do. And this is another team, very similar to the nationals where they'll just, they've not like the nationals, never mind, because they've been doing this for much longer.
Starting point is 00:32:44 They find ways to win games. The bullpen's very good. But to me, if you look at the rotation, Gavin Williams is an absolute stud. There's no doubt about it. I think Parker Messick has been the best pitcher on the team, and he's like finding new Velo, love watching him pitch.
Starting point is 00:32:58 I compared him to a little David Wells action, and Rosie like that. Kind of has the same vibe there. Speaking of vibe, it's a vibe. Yeah. Tanner Bivey's going to give you a chance. And like Joey Cantillo, I think, has been probably better than his numbers suggest.
Starting point is 00:33:13 So I think this is like their like deepest pitching staff they've had in a while. And that's that's got to be scary for teams. Interesting stretch coming up for them. They're finishing off a White Sox series today. And then Seattle, Texas and the White Sox again. So a few of these teams will be talking about in the, you know, if we open it up the eight to 20 range, which seems oddly close this year.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Yeah, I've said what I've said about. Where do you have San Diego, dude? down deep coach I can't I haven't met 16 whoa whoa this is a little bit of like let's go boys like when they see this ranking are they going to get inspired probably not probably not going to see these rankings but I mean what can you say about that pitching like best bullpen well not the best bullpen because the Braves have been the best bullpen in the league statistically but obviously that's their calling card is their bullpen but like like, okay, Michael Kim, I love him. He's been up and down, but for the most part, you like what he's doing. The next best starter is Walker Bueller, man. Yeah. I love me some Moxie King Walker Bueller, but then after that, where you go, and it's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:29 Griffin Canning's been like a starter, but then a bolt guy, and like, that has been, that has not been good. You can talk about Randy Vasquez. I think to me that's the biggest thing is I just don't trust their pitching, like, whatsoever. And then the offense has been cold to start. I think. I mean, Tatees has a 719 OPS.
Starting point is 00:34:48 I know like he's like, he's been hitting the ball. He's hitting 286, but there's still no pop. He's got three homers on the year. He went yard last night, and they won a nice ball game last night. But like to me, like, where's the offense at?
Starting point is 00:35:02 We've been waiting for it the entire year. You mix that with some starting pitching that to me is almost borderline non-existent. And that's a middle of the big, league's team. And they've kind of played that way as of late. So I, yeah, I don't know. You know I want to believe in them. I'm the biggest Padres fan there is. I love the names of the guys, but I can't ignore kind of some major flaws that are going on. I think Ryan Cohen might have you on the Padres scale. It's close as you wear your Dodgers hat today. Well, yeah,
Starting point is 00:35:37 I talked to Cohen before you got in there. He's not, he understands. I think he agrees with me. yes i mean jake last two months padre is 22 and 26 right right and i i i get it i guess for me there still needs to be a little bit more perspective where like they have the same record okay the white socks that we yeah but they went 18 and 7 in april like this team went i know like they are still riding that high they have not been a good team for a while right but i you shouldn't be fully penalized for that. I get it. Like I'd much rather an 18-7 leading up into this than 18-7 in April.
Starting point is 00:36:22 But it's because a lot happens in the season. And I don't know, man. Maybe the Cubs and the Padres are going to be the two. I look at the guy's names and I know their names and I know what they should do that I think there's another chapter of their season coming. But yeah, it's shocking. It's shocking, and I can't argue against the rotation thing. I know Mike King dropped it the other day, which he can do that.
Starting point is 00:36:49 Yeah, they won two against the Braves so far. Yeah, like, it's this team, I don't know. They were definitely, I had to zoom out and try to respect the record a little more than I have been than how they're playing, because they still did earn that record. That can they just find the heater, whether it's Merrill, whether it's Nando, Machado, holy sheets, Bogart's the whole thing. I'm waiting on that too, Jake.
Starting point is 00:37:18 It just hasn't happened. I know. I know. And it's almost July. We're like the halfway point of the season, which is, I mean, just unbelievable. So between the Padres and the Guard Dogs for me, this is another team that I'm giving some love because they've been playing well lately.
Starting point is 00:37:37 I have the Marlins and then the Blue Jays and then the Pirates. all flawed teams. I think the Blue Jays are on their way up. Marlins have just been playing incredible baseball as of late. And then the pirates are, I think, starting to settle in where maybe they
Starting point is 00:37:55 should be. I think that the offense was really, really good early on, but I think that's starting to come down to earth a little bit. And the starting pitching has been probably what we thought it would be, but the bull
Starting point is 00:38:12 and they did i mean they've done nothing and i don't know if they can do anything about it but that's been it's obviously been their weakest part of their team that's fun so i i had the blue jays at 13 so we were one off there again we're oddly oddly oddly close in this section the white socks we were we were split on um and then i have the i have the pirates right at 15 uh i think i think you're on it it's I don't know. It's kind of, I shouldn't feel vindicated because amongst these teams and with that pitching staff and if someone does get hot again, it's like they can reel it off. Like I've changed my Pirates tenor a little bit because it does it, the talent and what it is feels real. Like how many skein starts they've lost this year is crazy.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Like that has to change. Yeah, they feel like a good team as I'm comparing them to some of the ones we just mentioned. but they haven't been able to get out of the station. And it was my concerns before the season is that it felt like the pirates put together a middle of the pack team and with what they could be, that's where my frustration came from.
Starting point is 00:39:20 And it's what they've been so far. So I don't know if they're, if they have youth on the, on the way, I don't know, are they going to be a deadline team? I think our youth is all here. I mean, they have more pitching coming, which, you know, okay, great.
Starting point is 00:39:34 Ashcraft has been great for them. Mitch Keller's taken a step back. as of late, you know, skeins of skeens. Bubber Chandler just hasn't been able to like command enough. Like the stuff is great, but like he's either walking people or he's, I mean, he leads a league and walks right now or he's middle of the plate getting hit. So like it's not great for him. Jared Jones hasn't really looked great since coming off the I.L.
Starting point is 00:39:58 But I guess give him some time. But really it's the bullpended. And I've seen them pitch and like I've said this and Pirates fans, I think they do agree with me. Like the stuff is there, but they can't get guys out. Like there's, there's some arms in the back end of that bullpen, but they still, it's just not, it's not pretty. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:18 So what, so you and I, we've been pretty apart. White Sox and Padres have been the two gaps as we're halfway through this. Yeah, I agree with what you said on the Blue Jays. Blue Jays do feel like they're constantly on the come up. They're another team that dealt with a lot of injuries. They still are, but they're still. trending the right way that in this American League, it feels like there is going to be a weird day where it's, you know, right before the trade deadline or August and we're like,
Starting point is 00:40:45 hey, did you know the Blue Jays have the second best record in the AL and they're the defending champs? Like, I do think that's something we're going to be talking about on the on here. I mean, Vladie kind of looks like Tatis right now where he's hitting for average, but there's no pop whatsoever. He only has four homers on the year. And people have mentioned his back is messed up. His swing does look weird to me right now. He's the difference maker. If Waddy gets going and is like an absolute force in that lineup, then yeah, they jump up and they're a top 10 team in baseball. I think that is the truth. I mean, they have, I'm curious to see if, if Louis V can keep it up. They have, I mean, he's, he's thrown a lot,
Starting point is 00:41:27 dude. 43 innings already this year. He's been fantastic and he's built for that and he loves it and wants the ball. But they've been pitching him to, death. So if I'm Schneider, I like, you got to look at that big guy because you need this guy at the end of the year. I do like the pitching. I like it. And if Vladdy gets hot, I move them up
Starting point is 00:41:48 almost immediately. Okay. I guess let's start going in the second half. We got, or excuse me, you have your 16th team out there. I feel like a fool for not. The Arizona Diamondbacks, hey now.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Okay. a team we haven't been super juiced about this year. We normally yank Dalton's chains about him. But they're a team that the offense has shown up at times at kind of a high level compared to some of the teams we've talked about. It feels like they're finding reinforcements here and there, whether it was Waldschmidt, whether it was Tommy Troy. Like it feels like the buttons they've been pressing throughout this season. They've been finding useful guys. their pitching has been middle of the pack.
Starting point is 00:42:38 And the bullpen has had moments where they've been above that, which normally that's a Diamondbacks Achilles heel. Like who? Paul Seawalt putting together another closer season. I didn't have that in my bag. I guess where are you at with the snakes? I have them, well, let's see, I have them 19. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:01 So two teams ahead of them, which I feel like all these teams are kind of the same. Just saw the snakes. I mean, pitching's not good for the... Pitching is not good for the snakes. I think they have some guys in the bullpen. Juan Murillo is filthy.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Like, where do that guy come from? Seawald's been good for them. Ginkles, been ginkle. We love Kevin Kinkle. This is a ginkle pod. So I think they do have like that. If they're winning games... I mean, I can't say that with the snakes.
Starting point is 00:43:30 They play crazy games all the time. Like the back end of their bowl. pen. Starting pitching to me, obviously a huge question mark. And then the offense is very, very top heavy. Like it's what I talked about early in the show. Like you got Corby and Carolyn can tell Marte, Perdomo has not been the same. You know, a little bit of Gabby Moreno sprinkled in. And then you got the guys that got to step up.
Starting point is 00:43:52 I saw Tommy Troy, who's like just this like little fast guy hit an absolute bomb. Thought where the hell was that? Was that in St. Louis? Like that. I don't know where it was. I was in St. Louis, yeah, Monday. He had an absolute freaking lazy. Anyways, I just think that they're very top-heavy offense.
Starting point is 00:44:10 So I have them. You're right. They're an okay team. They're an okay team. You and I feel like we're going to start getting really repetitive. But like the debacks, yeah, I feel the same thing that we're coming from a season where, I think when we first started doing power rankings, like, you know, or we do our TPPs before the season, like the Blue Jays were 22nd or something last year.
Starting point is 00:44:37 It feels like, I don't know, maybe we're just watching too much ball, Trev, but like, you know, the Diamondbacks, the hope meter doesn't feel high. Like, like, if we're doing how does this team become a top 10 team, I don't really know. And I feel like we could say that for this next group. Yeah, I mean, agree. In front of them, I have, which I don't really love, after the Pagers, I have, the A's. I don't really love that ranking. Sometimes I can just get enamored, like, because I do like watching their offense, but we know what their problem is. But they've been winning games.
Starting point is 00:45:12 They've been winning games, and they actually were, I think, a couple of games over 500. They've lost three in a row now that have kind of put a damper on their record. Right now, they are, yeah, they're 38 and 41. So they got to 500, I think they lost three in a row. I don't love that. They could, honestly, they could be Team 20 in my rankings, and I don't, or 22. I think I'd feel the exact same about them. Ace fans, you know what's up, dude. And they played, like, where they're playing, and then they went to Vegas.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Like, I don't, I don't know, man. But they're fun to watch, so I don't, all these teams have flaws. Twins, I put above the dimebacks, because I do feel like they're very similar teams. Oh! I do. I feel like they're very similar teams.
Starting point is 00:45:55 Starting pitching is like, eh, like, we can get some, like, Zeb Matthews might pitch well one day, and we know Joe Ryan's going to be good. And then after that, I don't really, I don't really know. Bullpen's been an issue all year long for them. But their offense has been great as of late. It's been freaking crushing the ball.
Starting point is 00:46:12 So I have, I have them, those are my teams between the dimebacks and the, in the Padres. Let me, I'll round out my top 20. I went D-backs. I went Marlins. I had them at 17. Marlins playing a better brand of baseball. You had them at 13. Do we even go into that?
Starting point is 00:46:31 Let's talk a little Marlins then because 13 is high, coach. Dude, they've been absolutely crushing it lately. I know. 15 and 5 in June. 15 and 5 in June. And then if you kind of, all right, let's talk Marlins a little bit. Yes, finally. Very young team.
Starting point is 00:46:52 And I think they get docked because of that because the track record isn't necessarily there. But like they have, they're starting to have. have a long lineup. They're starting to really get the job done. We know our guys up the miller doing it. Lopez and Edwards, some of the more fun guys to watch in the league. Kyle Stowers are starting to go.
Starting point is 00:47:15 If Owen Casey can kind of figure it out, which he has as of late, like I think that that elongates what we got going on. And look, I'm curious what they do with Sandy. But he's a guy that you can, could kind of, you can count on Sandy. I think that's a good way to put on it.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Is he the Sandy of old? No. Max Meyer's been fantastic for them. They've had a little hiccup there in the starting pitching, a rotation with some IL stints. But I think they've also figured out, you know, the bullpen as well. They've been able to win games and hold leads. So I gave them some love because they're the hottest team in baseball right now.
Starting point is 00:47:59 Yes, yes. I guess I almost, in my head, I think mentally I may have even held that against them too much because 15 and 5 doesn't feel sustainable. But, and I shouldn't. Like, that's, that's just playing good baseball. I was more so scared by the rotation because they are outside of Max Meyer. It's been a little piecemeal, although Yuri is coming off the IL. Like, what about Lake Bocker? You know, what do you got on him? I love Lake Bacher. Uh, We brought him up on a picture of him on talking yanks a couple years ago. He looks like Florida man got loose, and he's actually been shoving. And his agent comes to our office sometimes, Gator Sports Management. So go check that out.
Starting point is 00:48:46 But yeah, I love me some lake. I finished out Miami, and then I hit my murderer's row of teams that torment me. I have Rangers at 18, Orioles at 19, Houston at 20. And I guess down here I started going a little, I started going a little off not looking at the record and looking at who can actually get involved in this season again. And like the Rangers, like I've obviously done every conversation with them. It always has felt like there's more.
Starting point is 00:49:25 The Orioles have been playing a better brand. I gave Alonzo and Kouser my award, and whenever they pitch, they win. And Houston is a little bit of LOL same. Yordan is doing something offensively that you can build an entire offense around while they just got Pena back, while they got El Tuvae back, while they have other guys on that team, that whenever they've pitched, they can win, and they haven't done it. And I guess the other thing that's getting in my head about power,
Starting point is 00:49:55 is that with how powerless the American League is, like if the Orioles rattled off of 15 and 5 or the Texas Rangers, they might be the second most powerful team in the American League. So that's where I landed on this grouping, and it's kind of like sprinkling a couple bets that, like, I don't think they're all going to hit. I do think one of them has to hit.
Starting point is 00:50:21 I'm looking at what I got here. After the Diamondbacks, I do have Rangers in the Orioles. Basically the rest of my list, there's only two National League teams. And that's the state of baseball right now. Rangers, I just saw,
Starting point is 00:50:34 like, you're waiting for Kumar and Lider to figure it out. And like, I don't know, man. Like, that's, if,
Starting point is 00:50:40 if they had, and then you have, um, the rest of the rotation, you're like, okay, this is great. They really have it,
Starting point is 00:50:48 man. Like, Lider's, to me, like, looks so, okay, I'm a former player,
Starting point is 00:50:54 should I remember that. He looks hit. He looks hitable, man. He looks hitable. Oh, okay. He looks hitable. He just went on the IL too, so, you know, it's just the stuff just kind of is the mechanics are there. Everything kind of looks different out of his hand.
Starting point is 00:51:07 You know, anyways. So I have Rangers, the Orioles, and then the Reds. If I had to pick one team out of those three, they could make a push into the season. I think I'm taking the Orioles, and they play better ball as late. And I think they're starting pitching has been probably better than the Rangers. It's been shockingly good. you know, as they've gotten a little bit hot here. And then the Reds to me,
Starting point is 00:51:32 I want them to be good offensively. They're offensively. That's not the word I'm looking for. Come on, Trev, figure out. They're just not a good offensive baseball team right now. They're not. Hunter Green is coming back. He's making rehab starts right now in Louisville.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Actually, Walker Jenkins, my guy. Take him up top. 100 mile an hour fastball. No, excuse me, off the wall in center field. I don't know, I mean, again, I, what's that? Walker Jenkins shout out, huh? Kind of don't need them right now in the big leagues, but also kind of like really need him in the big leagues.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Okay. Yeah, yeah. So those are my next three teams. Where do you have the Reds? Did you put them out there yet? I do not. I have, so I have the athletics at 21, which I was laughing when you were talking about the athletics and you're like, I think I could have them at 22 and I'd feel the
Starting point is 00:52:23 exact same thing. Yeah, it is what it is. It's their speech feels like it hasn't changed. I then have the Cincinnati Reds who were much more a part of this season, but again, that ends up penalizing them here because it's, it's been rough. Again, they need some reinforcements, and maybe it is Hunter Green, maybe it's, where's Ellie? Like, I don't know, but the Red season, you know, 17 and 30. since May 1st.
Starting point is 00:52:55 And it feels that way, like when you watch them. You don't know where it's coming from. Today's episode is sponsored by Best Western Hotels and Resorts. Starting point is 00:54:11 they could be playing meaningful baseball in september i do it's um the word you're going to describe the twins and i don't want to go too long because i i think I think we can be pretty short for the rest of these teams. They're gritty, and they find, they like, they don't stop. Like, even when they're down, they keep coming back. And that's been all throughout the year. So if you have a baseball team like that, if your team has done that in a certain year, you understand what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:54:37 Like, they feel like they're never out of games, which is good, except the bullpen, the bullpen's tough. Bullpen's tough. I have the tigers right after the Reds. I want them to be better. I want them to get back into the swing of things, but it's kind of like the same old song and dance for the tiger. like a couple good starting pitchers and that's about it like that's about all you can say for
Starting point is 00:54:59 this team they keep pinch hitting for Kerry Carpenter like super early in the games I think at this point of the season the guy just let the guy go I know he stinks against lefties but how are you ever going to get better against lefties right I talked the entire time so um and then after that after the tigers I have the Astros the Red Sox in the Mets Astros could probably switch with the A's if we're being honest. But again, all these teams are kind of jumbled up. They've been on a heater as of late.
Starting point is 00:55:29 And it wouldn't surprise me if they were, you know, again, playing meaningful games in September. I think that is kind of like where we're at now with these teams. Like, can you get back to that? If you're in the AL, if you run off a good month, yes, that's the, that's, you can. So the Astros, Red Sox and Mets, Mets, I think just lost one soda. Or at least he came out of the game.
Starting point is 00:55:49 They keep saying, wait until everyone's healthy. just hasn't happened for them and they're just like not a good baseball team. Yeah, I, we both have the Tigers at 23, funny. They are at 12 and 7 this month that they got Scoobble Day today against my Yankees. So like if that's a 13 and 7 and their May is one of the worst months I've ever seen a team have, I think is 6 and 22. So yeah, to come out of that hole is really brutal. also like Detroit has a rotation right now.
Starting point is 00:56:24 They do. Like Melton, Melton, uh, and scobs are great. And my guy Cater is still holding his own and then whatever you're going to get from Framer. He's he can he can twirl a freaking aiding, uh,
Starting point is 00:56:40 two hit shutout or no runs at any given moment. Uh, I then, I have the Red Sox at 25, Mets at 26. And then it's, It's, it's Royals, Giants, Angels, rocks for the little guy. Yeah, I have Royals, I have Royals, Giants, Angels, rocks as well.
Starting point is 00:57:00 Giants are down bad, dude. I sent you guys that there's a sports radio guy in San Francisco that went over everything that has just gone bad for them this season, starting off with Tony Vitello sitting Susan Sluster and the rest of the media down and telling them that they, wrong about like that start of this season off and he goes on a list of like 30 things and you forget all these things that have happened now typically you don't love like sports radio fodder but i was like holy shit like this has been a disaster season for the giants treb they they carried the show for the first like three weeks of the season um that's had me
Starting point is 00:57:45 barking about like we need to stop talking about them because they've been the same level as the Angels as the Rockies, which it's just sad because part of the reason we wanted the Giants to work is because they kind of went out and got guys the way we think baseball should be done. And then fast forward to seeing that Buster Posey interview or lack of interview yesterday, and you're like, what the hell are we doing people? And we want to like Vitello, but it makes it tough sometimes. Tigers offense still bad Bullpen is shaky
Starting point is 00:58:21 That's why I kind of have them where they're at And then I think the only other team that we really need to mention Is the Royals who Jack Caglione is getting hot your guy There's Bobby Witt's hurt but not on the IL right now Like they just have been They just haven't been a good baseball team yet As much as we want them to go
Starting point is 00:58:40 I think Mikel Garcia just went on the IL Vinnie's dealing with the handmate stuff Like there's so there's been injured but there's also been a ton of underperformance on their team as well. Best Royals update I can give a text yesterday from Vinnie Pasquantino because I did tweet out about getting an espresso machine. He reached out and he took his first swings yesterday coming off to Hamate injury. So let's give Vinny P back.
Starting point is 00:59:09 The espresso machine he recommended to me. I did tell him. I was like, dude, I need a starter espresso machine. Like I'm not I'm not locked. I'm not going to be doing crazy maintenance. It's like I just need a starter kit. The one he sent me, I wouldn't say it was a starter espresso machine. He's in the show, bro.
Starting point is 00:59:25 What do you think this is? I know. I know. And then it might have been him subtly dunking on me, and I deserve that from our first exchange still. But yeah, the Royals, every time you look up, it just doesn't feel like Caglione is going peace mode right now. And I don't know. Unfortunately, they're probably going to be a trade team. which maybe that builds them up for next year,
Starting point is 00:59:50 but not what I expected from the Royals this year. What are you giggling about? I'm just thinking about where I put the twins, and people are not going to like that. I think, you know, we normally talk about this with the Yankees, that you try to level me out with the Yankees. I think I try to level you out with the twins, and I do think I went too low.
Starting point is 01:00:13 They've been playing a much better brand of baseball lately, so I'm sorry. They need to win today. It's Joe Ryan versus Shohei Otanya today. Come on, guys. Isn't it so funny that it genuinely does feel like every night. We filled these out yesterday. So Rob and Dalton could prep some info for us and the graphics and everything looks great.
Starting point is 01:00:37 That it does feel like the next day you watch something and you're like, oh, I got to bring them down a couple spots. And that's just like it's not how this should work. Honestly, after my top 10, I don't have a strong feel on the rest of the league. And that's just kind of where we're at. Let's go, teams. Everyone have your Marlins 15 and 5 and just take over, be a part of this season. Usually one of us gets crushed on this graphic. I don't know which one it's going to be today.
Starting point is 01:01:15 I mean, Trev, we're oddly in. lockstep, man. Like, you know, if a White Sox fan wants to get really mad at me, they can. If a Marlins fan wants to get really mad at me, they can. On your side, it would be like
Starting point is 01:01:30 a Padres. Yeah, Padres fans could get mad. I think other than that, yeah, I mean, every team is just like, I don't know. I think Marlins are a little high for me, but that's okay. I'm rewarding them. Nationals is probably, Nationals is probably my team that people are going to question, I think.
Starting point is 01:01:53 But they haven't been watching that offense, you know? Everywhere they come through, you had them 11, I had them at 12th, and we know ball. Or we don't. Quick update on our over-unders, which we're not really going to get into today. Dot, what is it? Drum roll, please. Through June 24th, it is a one-team-difference game. Trevor, you are winning 16 to 15.
Starting point is 01:02:22 You have 16 correct, Jake. You're 50-50 right now. It's fine. It's fine. A lot of ball left. A lot of ball left. A lot of close ones. So this will definitely change.
Starting point is 01:02:33 This happened last year, too. Is this parody or is this not parody? I think the NL is parity. I think the AL is... Poop. I would say poop. Like, what are we doing? Rangers, Blue Jays, Astros, Orioles.
Starting point is 01:02:52 I can already see the storyline. This was the easiest schedule the Yankees ever had to get to the World Series, and they didn't even get out of the divisional round. Oh, I was hoping it wasn't going to land there. I thought it was easiest pass to the World Series in history, but okay. All right, well, because it's, let's see, biggest difference was Padres and Twins. yeah. Trev, we had, okay, so this brings in, Trev, we had the exact same pick.
Starting point is 01:03:27 One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. We had 13 of the exact same picks, but I think eight of them are from the bottom 18. Yeah. Yeah. So if you take those out, then it's Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies, rays, pirates. we got the trash right um wow dalton with some analytics largest faller since spring training is my tigers my highest rise both of our highest risers are the gnats and your largest faller is those new york metropolitans all right people let us know what we got right what we get wrong it's also wednesday so you know we're setting you out with some fanatics markets and we got a two for for you as usual here we go
Starting point is 01:04:17 Houston versus Toronto, two teams that there's got to be more in the chamber. Does it start with Mike Burroughs tonight? It's his first start since June 13th. He's going up against Trey Yassavage, who he's having his first little MLB slum. Two teams that we just talked about that are probably going to be in the mix. I mean, Blue Jays already are, but I think the Astros will be in the mix towards the end of the season. At least I think they will be, but I like this matchup. This potentially could be a playoff matchup, which is kind of crazy.
Starting point is 01:04:47 to say if you look at the records right now. Blue Jays do have a winning record since May Astros fourth in home runs this season and Yosavage has been given up the long ball and then Trev if we're giving out two games tonight you already mentioned it.
Starting point is 01:05:02 Show Hey, Joe Ryan Dodgers twins. What else do we need to set up here? I had to take out my Dodger hat for this one. Yeah, I mean look Joe Ryan he was a little under the weather out there in Arizona. Push the, the Stark got pushed back.
Starting point is 01:05:17 They dealt with some rain last night, so a little later in that game. But, I mean, this is a premier matchup. It truly is. I think I got a little bit more skin in the game because of my twins. But Joe versus show, I like that a lot. Twins' offense has been really, really good lately. So actually not really the first two games against the Dodgers.
Starting point is 01:05:40 This is a tall task for them. It would be a good way to avoid a sweep, beating Show Hey, Otani. We'll all be watching. Starting point is 01:06:39 Blue Days are going to be there. Blue days are going to be there. Baltimore, figure it out. They kind of been doing. doing it. As of right now, Toronto is there. Yeah. That's what I thought. Okay. Houston two games back. My Twins two games back. Let's go.
