Hello and welcome to talking baseball under a week to the trade deadline.
We're talking that MV. Trev's Cooperstown trip.
Prank called Jeff Passon.
Let's talk about.
Election talk.
Massive episode.
Ep of the year, people are saying.
Homer.
Jose Siri.
Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
Present you by Siki.
Guseko Talking 10, 10% off.
Seekek, wherever you go, if it's a stadium, if it's a concert, you know, was I at Luke Combs this weekend?
Yep.
Wow.
Sorry about that.
Did my yanks lose to the Mets last night for the third time out of three games this season?
Yes, and all of those events, you could have gotten tickets at Seekkeek.
Code talking 10, 10% off, whether you've used the code there or not.
Click the link at Seekek.
You're going somewhere.
It's summertime.
Whatever event you're going to.
And, you know, it's a big, it's a big episode.
Baseball's hot in the streets right now.
And for those of you who are podcasts, we love you.
I'll always love you.
But did you just miss me and Trev pretending to run in slow motion after we both hit fake home run,
circle on the basis?
Yeah.
And that's entertainment, people, and scene.
Trevor.
For more of that.
Subscribe.
How are you?
I thought I was Jose Siri.
you are won soda because they both went slow motion.
I think unfortunately I'm also one.
I'm Jose Siri.
Neither of us are one son.
No, I don't think we are.
I get that. I understand.
Jacob and Beavers and everybody that's out there.
I'm doing very well.
I'm excited to be back on the show.
I had to miss it.
I only miss a show for important reasons.
Yeah.
A for vacations with my beautiful family,
which I haven't taken this year yet.
And Olivia is actually kind of on me about that.
And when my good friend,
Joe Mauer goes into the Hall of Fame of Baseball.
So I appreciate Jolly O'Liv filling in for me.
I texted him yesterday.
He big-legged me all day, then just got back to me this morning.
But we were talking, Jake.
Yeah.
Let's just put this out in the streets, okay?
We were talking.
Around this time, July 24th, around this time is trade season.
And typically an episode like on a Wednesday would be about
the trades that have happened and are going to happen and all these things.
But nothing has happened.
So here we are.
And we have other stuff to talk about.
But that's a big,
I think that is in itself a big topic.
The white socks are just holding up the entire freaking market.
I don't know, man.
I don't know where my head's at right now,
but I am excited to yuck some ball with you.
Let's start yuck and ball a little bit.
because you're right.
It's unfortunately not the topic we wanted.
I think we would have loved to sit down the week before the trade deadline and be like,
can you believe that we've already crochet already got sent?
Can you?
Oh, wow.
They added, Alonzo got moved, no way.
Hadn't happened.
And I think we can dive into that a little bit instead of reading, you know,
all these Jeff Passon prank articles.
The Angels are all out.
deadline. Nice, dude.
I shouldn't be mean to him.
Yeah, why are you mean to Jeff? I don't know.
We're going to prank calling. We're going to be mean to them later.
We're going to be mean to him now.
Yeah, and I guess that's, there is one topic
that I do want to discuss with you that you said, Jake,
they're going to burn you at the steak and we'll get to you, Seattle Mariners.
Can't wait for that. You're like, who was doing that in Game of Thrones?
People hate our Game of Thrones talk, but I don't care.
Stanis Barathian was spurning people at the steak all the time.
What were he doing?
His daughter, spoilers.
What needs to happen?
The thing I jumped to, Trevor, was the trade deadline,
2022, when the Cincinnati Reds traded Luis Castillo to the Seattle Mariner's,
who I want to talk about the Seattle Mariners.
But Luis Castillo was, he was the one-one available.
He was the guy.
Yes.
You had to pay the Reds price.
that price at the time was no LV Marte.
Spoiler, PEDs.
He's back.
Go Reds go.
Is that a spoiler?
Sweep by the Nats?
I don't know.
Is that Game of Thrones?
Is that baseball?
Then Frankie Montas fell to our Yankees.
And I don't know.
That kind of opened up a little bit of the trade market,
at least on the pitching front.
And I think the secret answer to this conversation
might be the White Sox all in,
because is Crochet hold?
up the pitching market and is Luis Robert holding up the hitting market?
Well, okay.
I don't know if that's exactly what's happening.
Clearly those are fundamental pieces in the trade market because everyone knows
that Chicago is going to get rid of them.
There's other guys, you know, we're talking about a Terrick Scoobal who like,
the tigers are winning right now.
So what's happening with them?
That's a whole different discussion.
But I had interesting conversations a few different times with Derek Falvey,
Twins GM, whether it was while I was last in Minnesota, chopping it up, or in Cooperstown.
And he said the same thing twice to me, because we're talking trade deadline, what the twins need, all this stuff.
It's actually really fun that I get to go talk to a GM about just like, hey, man, what are we doing?
It's great.
But it struck me that he said this twice.
He said, you know nothing's going to happen until the last minute.
And so I didn't, to me, I just, I was in passing and I'm like, okay, why?
Like, why are we waiting until last minute?
Don't you want to improve your team a week, two weeks, three weeks before the deadline
so you can have that improvement a week, two weeks, three weeks more than anybody else.
Like you want to win baseball games in July.
Like it means the same thing as September.
But he said that to me.
So like in my mind, is that just, I think it has something to do with.
A, the extra playoff spot.
Everyone kind of deciding, are we in,
are we out waiting until the last second to decide that?
Like we've seen that the Rangers,
Chris Young flip-flop saying,
we're going to be sellers, no, we're not.
We've seen the Cubs all the sudden become, quote-unquote, sellers,
like unless something happens.
Like, we've seen a lot of that, like a lot of the GMs
or people when they get pressed about it,
well, it's going to be this unless this happens.
So they're waiting to see seven days from now
if they can change the fortune of their season,
which is crazy.
But that's kind of where we're at.
I think everyone is,
everyone is either,
A, waiting for the White Sox to just say yes or no to their offer
or these other teams to open up because,
hey, Chris Gets,
who's the GM of the White Sox is holding out for a King's Ransom,
but if this team says all of a sudden we're trading,
okay, now new pieces become available, his leverage is gone.
It's a chess match, I guess.
And we're waiting for the players.
That didn't make any sense.
Okay. Thank you, Trev.
I'm out of here, guys.
I'm screwed it up.
Told you it was a big one.
Yeah, I guess for the White Sox,
I don't, maybe they shouldn't have a sense of urgency.
They've got a current L9 up there.
Garrett Crochet is projected to have one more start
Sunday versus Seattle Mariners.
Maybe they had a starting pitcher.
And Luis Robert, I don't know.
I guess you could be soft and do like, you know,
what if he gets injured?
But if you're the White Sox,
unless you get everything you want,
which if you're Chris Eats, you better be asking for a lot because you're 27 and 75 right now.
And who knows, dude?
Like, I think if we knew the real world of GMs, I think we would be so sad.
I think they negotiate.
Like, remember how sad some of our labor union pods were when the update was like,
we didn't negotiate?
Like, I think some teams do that.
Like, I wouldn't be surprised if the White Sox are like,
they're getting things like, you know, we'll take Luis Robert,
but you got to pay him 20 mil next year,
so I can't really,
I can't really give,
like,
I think we would be horribly disappointed
if we saw how lame
some of the GM negotiations are that,
if you're the White Sox,
unless you get the exact package you want,
you're going to wait to the deadline.
I guess that's where I've been trying to daydream
of these kind of contender, contender trades,
where it's like, let's go now.
Like, if this is going to come down to a game or two,
It's the dumb baseball adage
Like every game matters the same
And maybe there's just boiling frustrations
Between my Yankees not being able to hit
My Mariners not being able to hit
As they just had Julio and
Talking Baseball's J.P. Crawford go on the aisle
I
Trev, you know I'm hot to trot on this
So let's just get it out of the way
Because I haven't been gaining fans
In the Pacific Northwest right now
No, you have not.
This is our current Seattle Mariners lineup
As of today.
It's bad. It's bad.
Josh Rojas, kind of a breakout season, but has been fading a little bit lately.
That's your lead off guy.
Victor Robles, off the scrap heap in the outfield.
Cal Raleigh.
You know I love me some big dumper, but he's actually been down this year.
How big is his butt?
Oh.
Georgie Polanco, your guy, my guy, but tough.
Has not.
Has a case of the Seattle's right now.
Luke Rayleigh come down.
to Earth. We just called up our boy Tyler Lockler. Sure. Not familiar with your game. Hope it's special.
Jason Vosseler locking down the DH position today. Dylan Moore and Cade Marlowe back at it.
It's not good, coach. If I'm the Seattle Mariners, and this is where I want to get your perspective,
because I'm shooketh right now. I feel like we should be brewing up something special, and we need to
Dude, at this point, why do you have the pitching?
You know?
Like, sure, you're tied with Houston.
Because they're in first place.
That's why you have the pitching.
Right, right.
But if we want to win this thing, what do we need?
Hitting.
The Texas Rangers are three games back?
Treve, I'm...
They're on a heater.
They're on a heater.
If I'm the Seattle Mariners and you should see...
I started writing just crazy person notes.
Everyone at the office critiques me.
I take notes in my email.
drafts and everyone's like that's so weird that's the least same thing you could do um
dude i'm not wired right like the world kind of knows i'm just not wired right i either use
here's some notes a piece of paper like computer paper physical notes are bad ass yeah no lines i
don't fucking put me in a box yeah unless or i go my uh my notes thing but that by the way okay okay
Quick tangent.
The fact that, like, your, my Apple computer doesn't come with, like,
something like Microsoft Word.
Oh, God.
It's just the Notes app.
And maybe it doesn't, I haven't found it yet.
I don't fucking know.
Definitely does.
The Notes app is horrible.
Ooh.
God, I thought, I thought Seattle was going to be mad at me.
Anyways, old school pen to paper, pop.
That's my guy.
So here's...
I think Max come with pages.
This is where I started dreaming a little bit.
Yeah.
But it sucks.
Trev, you're the Seattle general manager.
Is it Depoto calling the shots out there still?
Who was involved in Town Hall?
I am...
I am him.
You've probably got teams calling.
And sure, every algorithm is different,
and Logan Gilbert has less years of control,
but he's arguably been the most consistent.
George Kirby, I think he might be the prize piece of that.
It's a fun debate, which piece is most valuable of the Seattle.
starting pitching.
I'm going to take Emerson Hancock out for now.
No shade at you, Emerson.
But amongst these three, or five, excuse me.
Luis Castillo probably not involved because he's got the contract.
But of the four guys, it's Kirby, it's Gilbert, it's Wu, it's Bryce Miller.
If you're Seattle, I've got to move one of these guys.
And I understand you've got to get a package.
No, Trev?
We can't hit.
I'm letting you cook, Poppy.
I'm letting you cook.
Here's a couple things I daydreamed.
And I want to get your reaction.
So the first one,
one of the pieces of this entire market is Luis Robert.
You know, Seattle, not a perfect fit for him
because the only position they have locked down is center field.
Although, if you really want to get sick, oh, Jake, brooding,
I've dreamt of a two-man outfield before.
Just put Julio and Luis Robert out there
and just figure it out.
That's for another day.
That's an off-season app.
That's an off-season app.
I would think that Luis Robert,
being able to escape Chicago,
hey, White Sox fans,
and being paired with Julio,
I think they'd be willing to figure out the outfield.
Luis Robert is 15 mil for next year,
and then he has two $20 million options,
which is really interesting,
because with his injury history,
depending which season he has, that can be incredibly valuable,
or it could hamper your team.
If the Chicago White Sox, your guy Chris Gets.
Yeah.
If he called up and he said, here's the deal.
Lou Bob, give me one of the four pitchers.
You're saying no.
Just contract value-wise and everything.
No?
I don't think it happens.
Right.
because these guys are locked up through 2028 at the...
Right.
Low Gills, the low man locked up at 2028.
Everyone's passed.
So, Coach, we're talking like years of control with these guys.
It's the most valuable thing on the market.
It's more valuable than Garrett Crochet.
It's more valuable than...
I mean, it's like Derek Scouble getting traded.
I think he's got three more years as well.
It's too valuable.
Like, you can find...
I mean, they haven't been able to find hitters.
I guess that's the whole point of this discussion.
But you can't do that.
Like this is your bread and butter.
You have built a pitching staff that can take you places that nobody else's pitching staff essentially can't.
They kept you in first place, even though you have the third lowest OPS in all of baseball.
The only teams behind you are the Marlins who are actively trying to lose and the White Sox who are actively trying to lose.
those are the only teams below you
it's carried you throughout the entire year
in first place
you cannot give it up you have to continue your search
for for hitters and you got to go do that via free agency
you cannot give these guys up
I don't care that
so this deadline is there
I don't think no
your Seattle's GM you're just bargain binning it
this deadline for offense
I yes I honestly believe coach
that it's they either need to get like it's going to be a salary relief dump from somebody
and that's how they get their guy like hey we'll take him but we'll also take this guy and we'll
we'll we'll cut them eat the salary you can do that i don't think i mean they're not giving up any of
these guys i don't know i'm not a prospect guy you know that you think seattle's going to take on
money to try to get i don't i'm just saying your exercise of bringing them or trading one of these
controllable starting pitchers who even Luis Castillo because his contract I think he's locked
out to 23rd not a bad contract like they're not they have to keep all of these guys okay
I don't know how they're going to find hitting they have not been able to do it they haven't
been able to lure any free agents there I mean the ones they have haven't panned out um maybe
it's so there's not like they've tried the reliever route before Jake they did it with my twins
Jorge Polanco, as much as I love you,
hasn't worked out for them.
I don't know what they're going to do,
but I don't think...
Let me daydream a little more.
Who were they offering for a bat?
Let me daydream a little more.
I mean, I think the low man on that totem pole
is Brian Wu, because he's had some injuries.
And I think Miller, Kirby, and Gilbert
have had a little more success.
But it's interesting, like you said,
like Logan Gilbert, who's probably been the best,
technically he has a year less of control,
but he's been the best, so you can't do that.
I think Brian Wu is the guy that they would trade.
Bryce Miller, probably in play.
But okay, what if I went, the Mets,
who people think they're going to do buy-sell,
because this wasn't supposed to be the year,
but they're in contention.
If they said, like, Alonzo and Vientos,
so not only do you get the rental of Pete for the end of this year,
But you also get a potential hitter.
Like, you got to answer that call, no?
For one starting pitcher?
Yes.
Oh, you're putting me on the spot right now, Jackie Boy.
Big app.
I mean...
Okay, so you're thinking.
Maybe, I mean, I'm a Mark Vientos truther,
and that's why you went there.
I know you are.
Don't love that.
You're tugging on my heartstrings right now.
That's mean of you to do in front of everybody,
but I'll allow it today.
Yeah. Okay. So I'm looking at the prospects now. I think you do answer the phone call and I think you consider it. I mean, I'm in the GM's mind right now. That's the problem. I know. And that's not comfortable for you. Yeah.
Yeah, let's do it. Like we're trying to win this year in first place. Got all these pictures. Let's go. Yeah. We got Emerson Hancock. Step in. Let's go. Yeah.
But GM minds like we have very controllable cost that cost controlled pitchers. We can't give that up. So they're kind of stuck between a rock.
in a hard place. That's a saying. I know that for sure.
I'm looking at their prospects, Jake.
Yeah. They have five
in the top 100. Great.
So, like, I guess that's what
you have to do. You got to give up these guys.
Maybe, I said, like a reliever
you move on from, because
Seattle Mariners fans have told me time and time
again, we're a reliever factory.
We create relievers like it's nothing.
Okay. Teams need relievers,
so go create another one. Trade one.
Create another one. I don't know
what they're going to do. But they are a fascinating team,
They really are.
They're so bad offensively.
It's like not even like, it's crazy how bad offensively they are.
Like anybody with meaningful a bat's shake,
the highest OPS of anyone with any meaningful of bats is 717, Cal Raleigh.
717.
That's crazy.
Harry.
Trev, I have some more thoughts on this.
And I'm so dirty and jonesing to hear your Cooperstown stories.
and you could get up to Kupeloop by using booking.com.
Booking guy, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
It's actually one of the only ways you could get up there.
As Treve just found out, getting to Cooperstown, a little, it's a little easy.
It's a unique of a trip, I've got a lot of direct.
Talking baseball is brought to you by booking.com.

Booking.com.
Booking. Yeah.
How about this?
we've had a couple
you know, Juan Soto
deadline pretty electric
even the thought of Shohei
had us kind of horned up
for the trade deadline
what are the teams that could make
the deadline like electric
because right now it's not looking that way
that's kind of what we open with right?
I think Seattle, if they actually moved
one of their big arms,
they could make the deadline actually electric.
I think the Mets
like if they decide to
to do the selling
they kind of thought they were going to do
I guess
what other teams jump off the map
to you that like
if they really get involved
this deadline will be here next Tuesday
being like this is juicy
well
I think the A's are one
because of Mason Miller
I mean Brent Rooker
go look at his stats by the way
Brent Rooker stats are incredible
I almost brought him up with Seattle
Yes, I think I sent him in our trade episode to Seattle, I believe.
That's just so risky for me.
So I think they're one team.
I think the Orioles are another team.
They have to make a move.
And everyone's very familiar with their prospects,
which is kind of unique in the baseball world.
You don't always, like the general baseball fan doesn't really care about prospects,
but you know about the Orioles prospects.
They've just been talked about a lot and they debuted and whatnot.
So they can,
They can do that.
I had them as an interesting Seattle team.
If Baltimore calls and says Kerstad, Kouser,
you know, they've got young guys that are already contributing that,
again, if you're Seattle, you have to answer that call
because you figured out a lot of pitching,
almost better than any team in baseball.
But you haven't figured out the hitting that we got to bring in some bodies.
I like what you said about Baltimore, though.
they can go nuclear again.
We doubted them on, you know,
we doubted them on Corbyn Burns
that if they do another one,
it's like, God damn, Baltimore's here.
I was, yeah, I think they are going to do that.
I think that they're going to be the biggest adder out there.
They have the capital do it, and they need it,
and they're in this position where, like,
I mean, they have an excellent team,
an excellent team, a World Series team,
that they can add to very easily.
You can't say that about a lot of teams.
No.
I was, you know, before this episode,
we were talking about like, you know, how, you know,
do we need to make this clickbait?
It's a week out from the deadline.
Like, how do we want to do this?
If we did predicting the future winners and losers of the deadlines,
that's a comedy show.
And I,
but I liked what you said about the aura is like they,
if they cash in those chips properly,
they have one of the few chances to be like the big winner.
Yeah.
I was talking to Sam Fold yesterday.
Oh boy.
GM of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Obviously, I think he's second in command, I would say,
because you got old Dave Dombrowski saw him in Cooperstown, by the way.
Turned down the Red Sox manager's job, right?
No.
He wanted it.
Didn't get it.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Sorry, Sam.
That was the core year.
My bad.
Yeah.
Yeah, he wanted it bad.
that was yeah um anyway so we're talking yesterday and first of all we're like hey twins fillies world series
like that's pretty freaking sick but i think that they are another team similar to the orioles
where like they neither of these teams need to necessarily make a big splash i guess the orioles
have a more clear necessity in their starting pitching than the phillies do i think the phillies
could just try to add on like pile on
everybody else. Let's add to this offense.
You know, everyone talks about Luis Robert
going there and how that could change.
I think those are the two teams fighting for Luis Robert.
Yeah, so it's going to be very interesting to see
what they do. I just looked up Texas.
On the 4th of July, shout out America.
They were eight games back. They're three games back.
Yeah.
20 days later.
They've made up all this. And I believe
that was right around the time that Chris Young said
we might be trading and now all of a sudden they're not.
which sucks because I want a Nathan Yovaldi to my team.
And apparently that's not going to happen anymore.
Yeah, I think Texas is looking like they're out.
Hey, a fun exercise if you're looking for some time to kill the day.
I always tell people go look at Fangraph's roster resource.
It's just a really good layout.
It gives you kind of the lineup.
It gives you the rotation, the bullpen.
Clicking around this exercise,
because I want to do something around contenders and contenders trading.
Dude, the Phillies are so, like, set in stone?
Yes.
Like, you know, I was looking at these other teams.
We talked about your twins or even the Orioles,
like some of their guys in their lineup, they could flip,
or Seattle could flip someone from their rotation
to try to build a new roster.
Yanks are trying to build a new roster.
Like, Dodgers have some big, interesting moves to make.
Dude, the Phillies, there's no
There's no tweet.
It's Schwurber, Turner, Harper, Bohm, Real Mudo, Marsh, Cassiano, Stott,
and then it's Rojas in Center.
And they're talking about adding Luis Robber.
Like, for some of these other teams,
like, is there a world where they could trade Bryce and Stott?
I think Philly would riot.
I don't think they would be willing to.
And then their rotation is Wheeler, Nola, Sanchez,
Suarez, our new friend of the show, Tyler Phillips.
So sure, like any team could they add a rotation arm?
Yes.
Dude, even their bullpen, bro.
It's Hoffman, Kirkering Soto, Strom, who's an all-star.
Alvarado.
What was that?
What?
Sir Anthony Dominguez bringing up the six-hole in their bullpen.
If you're a team that you want your team to buy and contend,
like compare your stuff.
to Philly.
There was another team I even looked at.
I guess Baltimore's up there.
I don't know.
It's the torment of the San Diego Padres.
Dude, their roster on paper,
I've been fading them again
because they pissed me off and got towards 500 again.
Their everything on paper looks so beautiful.
Like, it looks like baseball artwork.
And I don't know.
I guess I have West Coast.
frustrations.
Okay.
I get what you're saying.
The thing about,
you know,
this beautiful sport that we follow and talk about,
we yuck about all the time,
is it doesn't always
work out that way.
We have dimebacks coming out of nowhere last year.
Texas Rangers were actually pretty good on paper
and except for their bullpen,
but they figured it out.
So I think these teams, you know,
they've been,
things we're talking about,
you know, talking about the Phillies.
Like,
the only way this
season is a success is if they win the world series. So when you have that type of pressure,
like you just have to continue to give yourself the best chance possible, which means like for
them, I'm looking at their roster right now. Like they could use a left-handed bench bat. They could
use a new center fielder. Like those are things they could use, but everything else is pretty good.
Although Rangers War just struggled mightily over the last like six starts. I think it's been really
bad for him. I still trust him
in the playoffs. I think the lights turn on.
Everything's fine. It'll be okay.
We need someone
to make a move. That's the whole
app right now is we need somebody.
We're going nuts, Jake,
talking about what ifs?
All these people, what could they do? Who are they
going to offer up? It's shocking
to me that we haven't had any
movement. Hunter Harvey went.
You know that? Yeah, he sure did.
Nice little package. James Paxton
got DFAed by the Dodgers.
Yeah.
With Maryfield, sign with the Braves.
Like, these are the moves that we're getting.
What is happening?
Hey, I just, my, James Paxton getting DFAed,
I'm putting as a feather in my cap of that hitting right now
is currently so much more valuable than pitching.
And that's a little bit why I'm mad at the Mariners.
James Paxson threw his hardest fastballs of the season
on Sunday night baseball against his former team.
Red Sox, people forget.
And the Dodgers, who need pitching,
but luckily they have Glassnow and Kirshah coming back this week.
And River Ryan, which is, that's not a real name.
Easy with that.
It's not a real name.
Dude, also some other big name, Kodai Sangha is back this week.
Robbie Ray is back this week.
Yeah.
But, dude, you can get James Paxton for the price of blank, not big.
To get a hitter?
You can't.
What's a good hitter you could get for, you know, James Paxton, we assume we're not in the front office,
although you're talking to Sam Fult.
James Paxton, I'm sure the Dodgers are saying like, hey, throw us a,
either throw us a 19-year-old kid who we might like or throw us.
You know, they're not asking a lot for James Paxon.
Injury history.
You know, semi-getting paid.
Who's the hitter that could give you a big second half that teams are like,
yeah, just throw me a little something.
They don't exist, Trev.
I know you're taking that as like a, as like a don't put me on the spot.
But like...
No, no, no.
That was rhetorical.
I like that.
Thank you.
For you.
interesting about James Baxter
and obviously the Dodgers were looking to move him
and just they couldn't in the time period that they needed to
and also
that's the state of baseball that we're in
they needed the roster spot
but wouldn't give up, they're not going to give up on a young guy
they're not going to give a roster spot away
for a young guy risk losing him
so they went and did they gave it up a guy
that's got an ERA in the low fours
that can certainly be a certain
serviceable back end of the rotation guy in the big leagues.
We've seen that from him year after year.
And now, yeah, now they have a few days to trade him.
But I think teams are probably like, no, we'll just wait and claim them.
I think in a way you're helping make my point that you can,
James Paxton, who four starts ago had a 339 ERA,
you might just be able to plug that guy into your rotation
while to find hitting,
it's just tough.
I think it, again,
if I was actually like a researcher
and wrote a manifesto,
it would be that where pitching is at in baseball,
that it's a lot easier to make and get that
than hitting.
It's just.
That's an interesting conversation to have as well
because, yes, league-wide hitting is down.
But then we have monsters, like Aaron Judge,
worth two people at the plate right now.
How was he doing so well with all this?
Like, what's his secret?
Like, how are these, some of these guys
were having historical offensive seasons.
Bob Whit Jr. is not having any problem
with the new pitching.
Second half, definitely not.
League-wide, it's down.
I don't have the answer for that.
I talk to guys, and all they talk about is,
oh, my God, every single guy throws this.
Every single guy throws 100 miles an hour.
Every single guy has a wipeout.
sweeper and it's so hard,
but we're still seeing
like crazy, crazy offensive seasons from people.
Let's talk about the big boys a little bit, Trevin.
It's brought to you by Shady Ray's.
Where did I just put them?
Oh, yeah, I've been wearing the John Boys a lot.
It's kind of a different vibe for me around the city.
It's a little bit, it's a little bit like, wow, this guy,
he might...
You look like you're a musician.
Right?
It looks, I was just going to say,
it kind of looks like I have a dark, serious side to me.
Like, ooh, is he?
I know his hair's doing something wrong,
but his eyes are doing something so right.
And that's due to Shady Ray's.
300,000 people have given them five stars.
That's a good.
Plus, they have their loss or broken replacement
that if you lose them or break them,
hit up Shady Ray's,
and they will get you a replacement pair.
No sweat.
Pretty nice.
And exclusively for our listeners,
Shady Ray's is giving out their best deal of the season.

uh trev do you want to talk about i mean you set it up a little bit with the big boys there but um
the MVP candidates i know have been turned in your head and i i did like how you let into it that
it's it is funny that the top of the game is is like peaking more than you're you're you're
than ever.
Like, show hey, Judge
Gunner Witt.
Like, they're, no, we're good.
Rent Rooker, say his name.
Oh!
169
OPS Plus hot.
Okay.
I mean, what's that?
Nothing.
What were you saying?
I said the Mariners.
You said Pittsburgh.
I'm fine with either.
Yeah.
It's be, it's beautiful.
I brought this up before
the episode talking about, you know,
hey, should we talk about maybe some mid-season awards?
You shot that down real quick, Poppy.
No, it's really good.
We're way past that.
People are H for the deadline, man.
I know, but we'd have nothing.
We have nothing to go on right now
because Chris Gets is holding everybody hostage
and the Rangers all of a sudden decide to win.
What's up with that?
I was talking about historic seasons
because, you know, Bobby Wood Jr., as of yesterday,
you know, passed Aaron Judge and F-war,
and Chris Rose posed the question.
you know, what can he do to take the MVP away from Judge?
And my answer was basically nothing.
Like the season that Aaron Judge is having,
and we're not really allowed to talk about him
because he's a Yankee and people, oh my gosh,
all you guys do is talk about the East Coast and West Coast teams.
What about us flyover states, dog, on West Coast?
The season that he's having is nuts.
right now, 207 OPS plus.
Do you, that's insane.
Yeah.
That's insane over the season.
The next closest guy, yeah, is on your team, by the way.
Well, 184 with one Soto.
And then it's Gunner Henderson 170, Brent Rooker 169,
Bob Wood Jr., 166.
Like those are, those, the numbers that he's putting up,
he literally leads in every metric, every freaking counting stat,
everything that you can do.
He's got 35 homers already.
35-89 run.
35-89 is an incredible season.
It's July 24th.
This guy still has two months of baseball to play.
It's him and Shohei, Otani, which we'll get to in a second,
are leading the way where we're just having these superstars perform, like,
essentially baseball gods.
That's what's happening right now.
So as much as we want to talk about all these guys, the up-and-comers,
Like the guys that are established have been absolutely doing it all year this year.
And I can sit and read off all the numbers that Judge is leading in.
But there's too many.
There's too many.
It's, it's, he's having a season that like,
maybe we've seen in the game of baseball like four or five times.
If he continues on this pace and ends his season.
Like we just haven't seen offensive seasons like Aaron Judge is having.
and we're talking about in the age of
pitchers being able to adjust better than ever
in the age of guys not seeing
seeing guys more than twice a game
it's you know bullpens in early we're not letting guys go
third time through the lineup all this stuff
I think you need to talk about in context
when you're talking about the season the judge is having
non-steroid guy in the age of pitching
it's it's it's boring
borderline insane.
His OPS right now, Jake, is 1.114.
Yeah.
It just, it's what he's doing, people need to like, just don't get judge fatigue, is what
I'm trying to say.
And the same with Shohei Otani.
What he's doing is incredible.
But judge to me is a guy that is somehow underappreciated in baseball, I think.
Is that a hot take?
I hope it's not.
I hate hot takes, but.
No, that's how I feel.
The judge thing is he's a massive human that hits home runs.
So I think there's just if you're baseball media, you're like, yeah, yeah, that judge guy,
he's pretty good for the Yankees.
He, you know, he cranks homers.
He's one of the best all-around hitters in baseball.
He's hitting 309 this year.
You know, the year he broke the AL home run record, to be clear.
He hit 311.
He's a career 284 hitters.
So it's not like this guy in this era where if you're a.
Power, power hitter, you're hitting like, I don't know,
250, 270?
And we'd be like, this guy's a baller, dude.
Judge is incredible.
And I know analytics doesn't like lineup protection.
And there's been times when Judge has had lineup protection,
and it's when the Yankees were winning this year.
Stanton was also bashing pretty good.
You know, the year Judge broke the home run record,
they had to slide him up to lead off.
Because literally the rest of the lineup gave out.
Last night, he got walked four times by the crosstown Mets.
And their manager is his former bench coach, Carlos Mendoza.
That was just like, nah.
So.
They weren't competitive at bats.
No.
It was a joke.
They showed the pitch screen and nothing even near the zone that, A, there's some Yankee problems there.
But, no, what...
When you look at enough baseball reference pages and you see,
you look at a guy's career and you look at some of the great-grates,
obviously baseball has this sustained period thing that makes the greats especially great.
Because there's a lot, not a lot of guys,
there's a few guys that have had these years of pop.
And that's the scary thing a little bit with Judge as he's getting a little older,
that how sustainable is this?
In that big body, he's playing center field, man.
No silly that is
It's very silly
It's just as silly as if Shohei wins
The MVP from the DH spot this year
So
I think another point
Or the point that I really want to drive home
Is that he's doing it in a time
Where it's
I don't know if it's the hardest time to hit in baseball
I have heard that from people
But I'm also like
You just stink this show
here, so stop saying that.
Jason Stark had an article a couple, like a week, like 10 days ago in the athletic, talking about
the mid-season races and how Judge is running away with it essentially and no one's going to
come to him.
And he's talking about his projected numbers.
At this point, OPS Plus 202, Homer's 55, 143 runs driven in, like on base 420, slug 672.
It's nuts what he's doing.
There's only been two other guys to have matched a C.
and like that. It's Babe Ruth twice and Jimmy Fox.
We're talking about 1921, 27, 1932.
We're talking about these, they face like five teams total all year and the starting
pitcher through the entire game. So you're seeing these guys time. Imagine if Aaron Judge
got to see the starting pitcher four times in the game, what his numbers would be.
It would be insane. We are looking at, and it's taking me, honestly,
part of all of this is my fault.
It's taking me a long time to get here with Judge.
And I don't really know why.
Maybe it's the Yankee thing.
I just try to like, you guys have the Yankees
and I try to be like the other side of it
to make sure we have balance at our company.
People hate the Yankees, dude.
When they got walked off.
I don't hate the Yankees, but I have to be the balance.
That last game of the All-Star game
where the Orioles walk them off on Yankees lapses,
I can still hear you Shelfy and Zoe's belly.
laughs. So don't tell me there's not like a natural Yankee disdain, not hate. No, it's, it's just you guys.
I was laughing at you guys. Not the Yankees. I don't care that. I don't care that I lost to him all
the time with the time. I don't care about that. Second deck. It's I just, I'm really trying, thank you.
I'm trying to be the other, the other side here for our programming. But Aaron Jed, we're looking at like one of the
best hitters of all time. Yeah. And it's not even close. I'm going to hit you with the Dave Chappelle.
Come over. The mix of.
power and average.
And people are coming back to batting average.
People are back, you know.
Yeah.
We're back.
Dude, it's an absolute...
It's crazy, dude.
Every inning when him and Soto come up,
it's an absolute treat of, like, baseball,
maximum baseball delight.
It's just literally every other hitter on the Yankees.
DJ and Verdugo were just the two worst hitters in baseball for the past month.
Bad formula
So quickly and Verdugo
Oh man
At least I saw it in him this year
With DJ
It's really hard
And again
Clicking around a lot of baseball references
There's a lot of players pages
That as you get into those
Lower 30s
The pages start to end
Do what you want with that
As we get sad
Do you want to talk about Shohei
Because he's in his same boat
kind of.
Yeah, I mean, the thing with Shohei
is he's going to win MVP every single year,
except for this year. He wasn't supposed to do it.
We're talking about a guy that is a Cy Young pitcher
and one of the best hitters in all of baseball.
So when he's doing both,
I've said this many times,
he's going to win the MVP.
Unless something crazy happens.
He's just that fucking good.
Excuse my link.
If him and Judge stay healthy,
they are Vegas.
legit favorites at this point that is essentially health-based.
Yes.
Show A doing at the DH position is nuts,
because historically, you just,
they don't give MVPs to DHS.
They don't do it.
David Ortiz got close.
Edgar Martinez got close.
But like, show is going to win it this year.
And we're talking about,
I guess the National League, like,
has lost some of its stardom this year,
Ronald's out. That's a big one.
Mookie Betz is hurt. That's a big one. He was kind of going in tandem with Shohei.
But what Showe is doing is it's crazy, man. And again, we've totally forgotten about the massive
betting scandal that surrounded him going into the season. Like, by the way, Ken Rosenthal
wrote an article about my former agent, Nesbolello, and Ipe and their
relationship and it was an interesting take on it. I didn't agree with all of it.
But that happened at the beginning of this season and we're like, hey,
Shohay's hurt, he's not pitching, he's rehabbing an arm injury, he's got this massive
betting, kind of what's going to happen to him, nothing has changed. He's gotten better as a
hitter. It's freaking crazy. He hits balls far than anybody in the sport. He's going to hit
one out of Dodger Stadium by the end of this year. It's, um, I have,
I don't know, man. I don't know what to say about him.
It's just bet Shohei Otani to win the MVP every single year, and you're going to make money.
On the gambling front, you'll never have, your friend will never have a trouble with their bookie as long as he pay.
For Shohei, it's, it's silly and almost, dude, if Judge wasn't doing what he was doing hitting wise,
which you just laid out an argument that is historic, unique, special stuff,
it would shine more on show hey because like he's like everyone knows that listens to this he's
one of the most talented starting pitchers in the league uh that's if he continues he would lead
the n l and homers back to back years um and it would look like his four his third 40 homer season um
and maybe you know we talk about like the numbers one dotting whatever we came up one episode i
forget when it was who said if you can three four six it you're a fucking god i keep i don't mean a
curse wow dang darn it sorry parents if your kids are listening to three four sixing it is insane
now obviously erin judge i think is three four sevening it isn't he it's decent no he's three four
six in it still show hey right now three fourteen four hundred on the nose for on base percentage
six or two slugging that's a 190 opiate
Yes, plus.
We're talking about Aaron Judge doing all these things.
Show Hay's numbers aren't too far behind.
I think Aaron Judge has 35 homers.
Show has 30.
Aaron Judge has 89 RBI's.
Show has 703.
So I guess they are kind of a little bit behind on the counting sets.
But Aaron Judge doesn't pitch at a young level.
He chooses not to pitch, Trout.
Oh, my God.
That's his choice.
Here's a question for you.
This could be fun.
How old is Shohey?
Okay.
Show Hay is 30.
and Aaron Judge is 32
Let's just say
same contract
same age
Are you trading
Like for the Yankees
You're obviously trading
Judge for Otai
Right? Chris Rose has his belt around his neck right now
Just so happy about this
Don't ever do that again on screen
You're trading judge right
And you're taking O'Tonni you have to
Judge for Shohei
No I'm just saying like if you could
If someone was like hey
like no one's going to know,
but we're going to go back in history
and you're not going to have Aaron Judge,
but you're going to have Otani
and just snap the finger.
Oh, so you're going,
you're going no politics,
no,
no social media clicks,
no like.
Oh, no, this is just like,
if someone's like,
hey, we're a travel back in time.
We could have just had Otani.
Joe Hay is going to sign with the Yankees.
He's going to be a lifelong Yankee,
but you're never going to have Aaron Judge.
Hmm, it's interesting.
That's an interesting question.
You're not immediately saying yes?
I love Aaron Judge.
People think I'm an Aaron Judge Hader.
Just wax poetically about him for several minutes here.
But you have to take the two-for-one guy.
Yeah, I guess I would love to know a little more medically about Shohay's upcoming pitching.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, is that fair?
I don't think it's fair, probably.
If Shohey's going to give me even four more years as a starting pitcher,
then it's probably not a conversation.
And yes, I would use that genie thing.
I'd love to know a little more about where the pitching stands.
But yes, if he's going to go out and do that, yes.
Okay.
I mean, like, they're comparable hitters.
Lost all.
Like, they're comparable hitters.
I know.
Shohei doesn't play defense, bro.
Judges in the center.
I don't know how we got there.
I don't know how we got there.
But I guess that's an interesting talking point.
I don't know.
Both of those guys are going where you just were, Trev,
Cooperstown, New York.
And this show is sponsored by BetterHelp.

Trev, please walk me through, beautiful Cooperstown.
I haven't been there.
It's probably getting closer to 20 years
than I'd like to think
Because in my head some days
I'm still 25 years old
I'm not
But you know
Just seeing some of your post
I mean Brian Dunsing
Hanging out
You know that always gets to me
And yeah for those
I talked a little bit on Monday
I didn't dive into the Cooperstown coverage
I got a lot of the highlights
I joke Joe Mowers
Minnesota accent turned up a little more
seeing Jim Leland, one of the toughest managers slash a guy I would, Mr. Leland, yes, sir, thank you, sir.
Seeing him get emotional about a baseball life.
There's something special to that.
So walk us through your Cooperstown trip, Trev.
Okay, so it was very special for me going there, not only because it's Cooperstown
and the lore of that whole thing, but the class is,
they're guys that like I played against a lot and like I'm very familiar with and like got to watch with my own eyes.
Like sometimes when I think about Cooperstown, I'm like, ah, it's the old guys.
But now it's like coming to the point where it's like, yeah, these are the guys that I played with.
So it was pretty special.
Like, you know, seeing Beltray up there chopping it up with him.
And I guess like when I was playing, you just don't think about it that much.
Oh, he's going to be in the hall of fame.
You see him get 3,000 hits.
You see him playing defense the way he plays defense.
and being the leader of, you know, Texas, but other places as well, like just having this
a short career, but it doesn't dawn on you. Like, you don't think about the Hall of Fame because,
well, you're still young and thinking about the president and now I'm old and think of the past.
But that was really cool, like seeing him up there.
And then obviously, Joe, I have a great relationship.
I'll talk about that in a little bit.
But also Jim Leland, like, so many times I would be around the batting cage with him.
the turtle on the field because, you know, as we've talked about before, like, we used to go
watch Miguel Cabrera hit batting practice. He was like one of the only people, the opposing
team would go out and make sure they were out for stretch early because you wanted to see
Miguel Cabrera take batting practice. So, you know, I think Aaron Judge might be on that list,
although does he take a lot of BP?
Not on the stadium. Yeah, because O-Tonnie doesn't really do it either. Those would be the guys
that you go watch and they don't do it. Back in the day, Maggie was out there every single
day and the way he would hit BP is so
I wish everybody could see it
like just starting off hitting freaking
liners the other way
and then slowly but surely waking his bad up and then you'd
see him go at the last round homer to right
homer to center home or to left it was crazy
but I talked to Jim Lee then a ton at that point
and you know got to know him very well
he was probably like who is this get this kid away from me like
you're not important get out of here
doesn't matter.
I make myself important as many people.
I do.
So it was special to listen to them,
talk about their baseball career.
I wasn't sure what we're going to get out of Leland.
He's kind of a quiet guy.
I don't know Todd Helton that well,
didn't play against him a ton
because of that point,
we weren't playing the National League a bunch.
But, you know, I heard like,
hey, is he even going to say anything?
He had a beautiful speech, you know.
And really all the speeches are about
just thanking the people that got them there.
And it resonates because,
you know, I had not a Hall of Fame experience, but I got to play in the Bigleys for for a while.
And it is because of the people that help you get there. Like it's, you don't get there on your own.
So, you know, you start to reminisce about the people that, you know, helped you. And it was,
it got emotional for me. I think that, uh, he had a, Jim Lee then had a great joke,
which I didn't know he had in the bag. Okay. Can I tell it? Sure.
He goes, you know, back in January, I got the call to be.
in the Hall of Fame.
Then about a couple weeks later,
sitting around there with my wife
and we're having coffee.
And I said to her,
honey, in your wildest dreams,
could you ever imagine
that I'd end up getting the call
from the Hall of Fame?
And she goes,
Jim, you're never in my wildest dreams.
Nice.
Huge pop right there.
Huge pop right there.
Jammer on the wife.
And she's like,
Is that even a Jim?
Liam Leeland joke? Like, I don't think he can get credit for that. Yeah, somebody probably
wrote that joke already. But it got a huge ovation. It was funny. But it was cool to see.
And then, so the ceremony is great, but the real part of Cooper Sound, this is what I heard
going into. I wasn't sure what to expect is the fire pit. Oh. You stay at this, do you stay at this
hotel? It's the hotel. We didn't stay at the hotel. We had like a cottage in the middle of nowhere. It was
crazy. It was this house must have been built in the 1800s. You're driving home, Dozier.
It was very close. And we shuttle, they shuttle you. Thank God. Because, yeah, it gets a little
wild. Thank God. And the roads are very dark. There's a lot. I, I never drive under the influence
anyway, people, like ever. That's the dumbest thing you can do. Uber, Lyft exists, whatever.
Haven't been to Cooperstown in a while, but I have to imagine if I went up there now, I'd be like,
wow, it smells like whiskey and farts. It's, so you get a little while, but there's a big
massive fire pit.
They're at the hotel where all the guys stay.
And they have like, you know, they're there.
And like you just get to chop it up with like legends.
Right.
Legends.
And to me, that was the coolest part.
Like just, you know, Jets was there chopping it up around the fire pit.
Derek freaking Jeter, man.
And as much, I used to give them crap on this show.
I don't do it anymore.
It's not really funny.
And it's actually not how I feel.
I respect Derek Jeter immensely.
Yeah.
But again, I was playing the anti-Yanky card for a while.
Fair and balance.
Being able to just talk with.
him and George Brett and like I don't know man it's like it was it was very very special to me to be
able to go do that and I found myself you know like pinching myself like hey like is this real like
I'm a I'm a kid who love baseball and I got to play it for a little bit but now here I am like
surrounded by like legends of the game who like know who I am whether it's playing days or
or Johnvoy like it's it's crazy man and um it was it was special and then the whole thing with
mauer like he's it's it gets said a lot about him but it's very very true he's like
the best person you're ever going to meet it's wild how humble he is how appreciative he is
how confident he is in like the best way possible and a great family man and a great you know
son and like he's just everything that you could ever imagine.
And I wrote my Instagram post, oh yeah, he's a generational athlete as well.
Like he's Mr. Basketball in Minnesota.
D1 scholarship to Florida State as a quarterback.
Like this guy's a nut.
He's a nut.
But like being able to celebrate him was very important to me.
You know, he was a great mentor to me.
And I look up to him like, you know, immensely.
But I don't know, man.
It was, it was fun.
It was a great time.
I don't think people understand how beautiful
upstate New York is.
You say New York, they think of the city.
Yeah.
And upstate New York is like one of the most gorgeous places there is.
It's beautiful, lush green right now.
The lake that the hotel is on is incredible.
So if you're on the fence about taking a trip to Cooperstown,
I would say hop the fence and go.
Usebooking.com, book your trip, and go check it out.
It's gorgeous up there.
It really is, it's difficult to get to.
you're either flying in the Syracuse or Albany
and driving an hour and a half,
but it's worth it.
It's really, really cool, really beautiful.
And this weekend was incredibly special.
So I was very, very happy to be a part of it.
I keep finding my way into all these things.
Yeah, right?
Like, I'm going to be in the Twins Hall of Fame one day.
I know.
Wow.
I am.
Yeah.
And it's not going to be because I was a good player,
but I'm just like going to hang around long enough
and put myself in these situations.
He's a lifer.
to be in it. Yeah.
Yeah. I firmly believe that. I'm being serious.
Maybe it's just me putting it out into the world.
I think it's going to happen.
I was just going to say, I looked at the twin stat sheet, you know.
Your next time to Cooperstown is probably going to be Jimmy's induction.
They were giving out awards to people who promoted the sport.
I'm just saying we do a pretty good job of it.
Trev, a couple things. I guess my once a month compliment.
I think you reposted on your Insta story.
You and Joe Mauer's pregame handshake.
I was like, that's cool.
That's kind of sick.
It's Joe Mower.
My guy.
I think we're seeing Jee's at an event kind of soon.
So might do like a kind of a truth on Trevor Plouf piece of content with him.
Actually, I think you're going to be at that event too.
So we'll see.
And yeah, I guess I'm excited to get up there.
I think I've been twice and it was in the same like two years span.
Went up there, played a baseball game.
you know, struck out. It's okay.
It's okay.
Pitcher's nickname was Doc. He was Bonds.
Still frustrates me that at bat, bad,
bad early strike call.
And then I went up there with my pops.
And that was sick. That's one of those, you know,
Cooperstown with Dad.
But, you know, I was, these are high school, if not late middle school year.
So I'd got to get back up there.
You know, we missed, I think there was business stuff where we debated the Jeter intro.
I think it's Big C next year, so you never know.
But, yeah, very pretty.
Very pretty that time of year.
I think there's some golf up there if you're wired that way.
It's a beautiful course.
I mean, you didn't sneak your way.
Or no, you played.
They shut the golf course down for the guys that are up there.
It's amazing.
So how do you, okay, let's get real.
behind the scenes. Do you have to say
like I'm Joe, I'm part of Joe
Mauer's eight friends, I'm allowed
to golf? There really wasn't
a lot of like ballplayers up there.
Like the contingencies of the guys,
they weren't big. It was like, you know,
for the Rangers, it was like Elvis Andrews,
Mitch Morland, Ian Kinsler were the guys
that I saw. Felix was up
there as well supporting Adrian.
And you know, for Todd Hilton,
there was some of the older guys who like, I don't know,
like Richie Sexton was there, but I believe that was also
an Adrian Beltrane Beltrade guy.
Richie Sexton, by the way.
Hot boy.
Like, family's gorgeous.
They're all 18 feet tall.
It's ridiculous.
Six-eight last name, Sexton.
It is ridiculous.
His wife is 6'5.
I don't know.
Imagine if talking baseball was,
came out during peak Richie Sexton era.
Oh, my God.
We would have been taken off YouTube.
Yeah.
So if you're in the contingency and like you're,
I guess, like,
a foreign player that give you a thing to wear and you like have to wear that.
Right.
They won't let you in.
Like Joe Nathan, who by the way, I'm going to get him into the Hall of Fame as well with
the Veterans Committee.
That's going to happen so I can go back.
Like they wouldn't let him in a place because he didn't have his.
And we're like, we all have my, this is Joe Nathan.
And they're like, no, sorry, we can't do it.
So you have to wear this thing.
And then you have to.
So what happened next if you don't mind me asking?
Did Joe Nathan have to go back and get it?
Really?
He went back home to get it.
Yeah.
Wow.
Awesome security.
Like they will not let you go anywhere
So if you have that
You can do whatever
What is your golf for some if you don't mind me asking
Quick funny story
We had the twins party
That the poll ads through
Thank you, oh wow
That's nice
That night we're chopping it up
And we got like 14 dudes
Saying let's go play golf in the morning
Just don't
Right late night
Don't tell me any of those words.
This is my love language.
Late night, having a
Mower old fashion, which was a banana old fashion, whatever.
And we're at 14 guys.
And we're like, hey, man, let's go play some golf.
Everyone's stoked.
You got to get up early to do it.
Right.
Okay?
I wake up.
I'm like, oh, man, here we go.
I'm going to do it.
Dojers on the bunk bed below me.
He's sleeping.
I think he's not going to wake up.
He finally wakes up.
So him and I meet Morny, Justin Morny.
Justin Mornow and Glenn Perkins at the golf course.
And the guys like, hey, like, you know, who's going out with you guys?
We think we have 14 guys.
Okay, no problem.
I'll get you guys out.
Think about that, by the way, 14 guys.
Yeah, no problem.
Not easy.
Turns out, of the 14 guys, it was just us four.
Nobody else spoke up.
Nice.
They're too old to freaking run it back.
They don't have the young bones anymore.
So, yeah, it was me, Dozier, Perkins, and Morne.
I mean, that's your...
Morning shot one over.
That's your, like, Minnesota Twins' Dreams Blunt rotation, basically.
I mean, that's your...
It was fun.
Those are your guys.
Glenn Perkins?
Yeah, he's pretty good golf.
All these guys are so much better at golf than me.
We use Nicky Ponto's clubs,
which were just a little short for me.
I had to adjust, but I played well.
I could use those.
I shot like an 86 or something.
I could use those.
All right.
That's all I got.
I don't know, man.
It was fun.
Can't stand up right now because of that.
story. I'm glad you had fun. I know it's been a busy stretch and you've got some more busy stuff
coming up. And we've got two more recaps and then it's deadline time. Who knows Monday,
hopefully Monday's recap gets derailed, but White Sox, let's go.
Am I going to be in Detroit giving Jack Flaherty a hug while he gets traded?
Wow.
Ooh, when's his next start?
Troy Tiger's schedule.
How come I don't know this?
Oh, he's pitching a night, so this could be up that value.
Oh, I'm going to miss some.
It'll be able to hang.
