Hello and welcome to talking baseball. It's time. The All-JM team first one of 2025.
Who going to take on the champ? Let's get into it. Meaty. Meaty.
Little Trev picked my player. Sandy Elkintar.
Augustine Ramirez, and I have a fastball. Go by me. Same time.
Double Marlins reference off the All-JM episode.
Hello and welcome to Talking Baseball,
presenting you by Seekek Code Talking 2025.
Jake Storelli, myself.
That's who I am.
Trevor Pluth.
That's who he is.
We got Bobby's on the one, twos, and threes today
as we are giving out some pedals.
It's that time, people.
It's the all-JM team.
A fun thing we've run into over these past couple years.
A way to highlight the best in the game.
A lot of people, you watch your team,
and that makes sense.
That's why you know your team better than us, and we try to tell you that.
Sometimes you see a guy coming to town, and it's for three games, and they have a
mass series, and you might own the jersey of the guy you like, but when you're not watching
them, they might be better.
So we have become the all ruling board, no funny business, no silver slugger, gold gloves,
all JM, the best of the best.
We walk you through.
It's the only team that you see the behind the scenes of how we,
select these players. Trevor Plouffe. How are you? What a intro to the LJM team. You know,
this is interesting because April, if we've been doing this for about three or four years now.
And April is always the wild card month. People get off the hot starts. The numbers are,
are crazy. And then you start to settle in, kind of like the cream rises to the top. But April,
April has stopped people for getting silver daisies. Like we have like the one-offs this month.
and I think we're going to get a couple more of them this year.
Again, if you're completely new to this,
pedals and daisies, you're like,
while the regulars do,
we thought it would be each month we do this,
if you're completely new,
and it's the best through this point.
So when we do this episode,
it makes a lot of sense.
It's the only baseball that's been played this year,
essentially the first month of the season.
When it gets to next month,
it's both months combined,
and when it gets to June,
It's all three months.
So players change.
They come and go.
Last year,
I have the final team,
so I can run that through.
Cal Raleigh, Vladimir Guerrero, Jr., Jose Altova,
Bobbywood Jr., Jose Ramirez,
Jaron Duran, Aaron Judge,
Juan Soto, and Yordon Alvarez,
with Gunner Henderson winning the U-Till in the American League,
the fan vote that we've changed it to,
that you guys, make sure you go check us,
Check us out on socials, where we put it out to the fan vote.
Terrick Scouble was the AL pitcher and the NL.
William Contreras, Bryce Harper, Cattlemarté, Francisco, Indoor, Matt Chapman,
Teyoscar Hernandez, Jackson, Merrill, and Cherokee Profar,
which Shohat D.H. Freddie won the U-Till and Chris Sale,
won the starting pitcher position.
And like you mentioned, Trev, April always brings some interesting names
because that's when you only need the one month.
The one month.
So last year we saw some guys like Mike Talkman, Alec, Alec, Tanner Halk in the Ale, Jordan Westberg, Josh Naylor.
That April is always one of the wild ones.
And like you mentioned, something that we've giggled about along the way, each time you win a month, you get a pedal.
So if you've won three months that year, you're a three-pedal man.
If you do it for every month, you get the full daisy.
and there was last year
Gunner Henderson
every month was either
shortstop or util.
So he's got a funky,
he's got a funky Daisy,
don't we all?
Juan Soto,
William Contreras,
Cotell Marte,
Jerks and Profar and Shohei
to go from the start of the year
to the end of the year as a daisy.
Wow.
I'll tell you who's not going to get a silver day's this year,
Gunner or Jerksson Profar.
Yeah, that's out of the running.
That's locked in.
These other guys, I don't know.
there might only be one of those guys that makes the team.
Let's get into it.
Enough of the setup.
Let's start talking ball.
The AL, all J.M.
It's brought to you by T-Mobile.
Today's episode of Talking Baseball is brought to you by T-Mobile.
The network we trust, whether we're home or at the ballpark.
Trev was at the ballpark last night.
He's got a couple stories.
We might have to save those for Friday.
Rumors about a foul ball in the glove.
We'll talk about that.
No matter where you are,
America's largest 5G network is with you when you're with T-Mobile.
Also, this season, thanks to Magenta status,
we have access to a bunch of perks with T-Mobile,
discounted tickets, yep, hotel deals,
free in-flight Wi-Fi, you got it.
Perfect for trips like head into the derby, Trow.
We've got to talk about that.
If you're not already with T-Mobile,
now is the time to have the best.
5G coverage in the game.
Add it to your lineup. Learn more at
T-Mobile.com slash baseball.
Thank you, T-Mobile.
Thank you, T-Mobile.
Let's get into it.
Trev, we try to get better every year,
every episode.
That's just who we are,
1% better every day.
And in the American League,
we'll go around the horn.
I feel like there's really one hotspot position.
I normally like to start behind the dish,
and we've had some great performances this year.
How about Dylan Dingler making the sheet?
Who would have had that before the year?
Shebang Jaliers keeps throwing him in the stands.
Logan, O'Hoppy, Austin Wells.
There's a reason I've said all these names.
You know, maybe you're going to fight for your guy, Logan.
Cal Rally, the Big Dumper, has been one of the storylines of this season so far,
and I do think he is head and shoulders above the rest of this catching crop.
Yeah, sometimes you get a clear-cut winner.
I think we're going to see that for a few different positions this April,
but Cal for me is the guy.
The batting average isn't there,
but the on base percentage is,
the slug is 9.05 OPS is the best amongst the catchers you mentioned.
The war checks out, the weighted runs created, plus everything,
Cal has become the face of the franchise up there.
People don't really buy into that.
I said that Seattle Manor's fans.
Like, no, it's still Julio, but Cal's our leader.
I'm like, okay, that's fine.
Sure.
whatever you guys need to hear.
Hey, all they care about right now,
they're in first place.
Yeah, they're raking, Jake.
Look at that, and they are.
They're raking.
They're doing it.
Some Mariners fans are shocked by what they're seeing.
If this continues for the year,
like we need to change the whole scope of Seattle Mariners baseball.
Congrats to Cal Raleigh.
Hey, he's a guy that is usually in the running for a Silver Dase.
Yes.
So he got your first pedal.
That's the first step, big guy.
Logan O'Hoppy second of the catchers with eight home runs.
We always try to shine the light on him when we can.
But yeah, Big Cal, huge reason there winning games in the Pacific Northwest,
and he ended the year there, so he's still rolling.
And if I remember correctly, he clipped Big Salvi on the final vote.
Congrats.
Trev, this is one of our ugliest positions.
So for those that don't know,
the John Bino is also brought in on these votes when we need to split it up.
And I think we're going to have to split it up, Trev, because between Jonathan Oranda for the race,
okay, some pop there, Paul Goldschmidt, who's currently sitting at 363 batting average,
and then Tyler Soderstrom and Spencer Torkelson,
who have been some of the most productive hitters in baseball this year,
I would love to hear your thought process.
It's tough because, you know, I have it between two guys.
Like, Aranda's been great.
Shout out Goldie.
He's been everything that you guys could have hoped for on the Yankees.
But Sodorstrom coming on strong the way he has for those A's.
And then Torkelson being one of the best storylines of the early season, their numbers are very, very similar.
Now, Torkelson plays on the first place Tigers team.
Sotter's from plays on the A's.
but they're one of my favorite teams.
This is probably one we're going to have to call Jimmy in on.
If I had to give my vote,
I think I'd go Torkelson.
And I don't really have a good reason for that.
I think I just like seeing the adjustments he's made.
We've been waiting for this guy to go.
And he's been a huge reason why the Tigers are in first place.
I think that's why I would, I guess I will lean his way.
helping his team to victories, but that's not all him.
Sotom, Storstrom can't do anything about the rest of his teammates.
So it becomes one of these things where I think, unless you're also on the Torquinson train,
we might have to call Jimmy in on this one.
So to drive home how close is, I think you're right.
I've loved Paul Goldschmidt, but only one home run.
Again, if that's the complaint when you're hitting 363, it just is what it is.
But these other guys are out slugging him by more than 100 points.
Yeah, I mean, you're talking about wins and losses.
I don't know.
The Tigers might have the best pitching.
We try to keep that out of this.
You're right.
Yeah, that does nothing for me.
Soderstrom and Torkelson tied in runs, tied in RBI.
Soderstrum's got a little more batting average.
Torkelson's got a little more on-base percentage.
Soderstrum has a little more slug.
This is as tight as I've seen.
I was leaning Soderstrom.
I think he, again, one of the,
the storylines of this season.
We also should say it is April 30th
that a couple of these positions may have an asterisk.
If we get a two-home or night out of someone,
there could be an addendum on Friday's episode.
I will text Jimmy.
He has been told to be on alert.
What's that mean?
On call?
It's on call.
923 OPS for Sotom, 9.0.4 for,
Excuse me, yeah, for Torkelson, 904.
So Sordstrom does have the leg up there.
He also is leading in weighted runs,
created plus 162 to 156.
The war favors Torkelson.
It's just, it's just ungodly close.
So yeah, put it out the old union, see what he says.
It's out to the John Bino.
We will see what happens.
Let's move on to second base for now,
where, unless you have something up your sleeve, Trev,
which I never know with you.
I love Dylan Moore.
You love Kyron Paris.
Gabriel Arias, name sounds like those names.
But Christian Campbell,
Trev, we got a bunch of young dudes and Dylan Moore.
Sneaky 32, 33 out of Dimo putting together a great first month.
Christian Campbell, every stat is better.
It is.
No, he's been a bright spot.
He gets paid, gets a starting job,
and comes out with a month like this.
It's a fun April for old Christian Campbell.
I didn't know he had it like that, Jake.
I knew he was performing well.
Yeah, man.
But I haven't been tuned in on the statistics.
935 OPS from your second baseman.
Like this is, it's one of the reasons I picked the Red Sox, you know, to make it to the World Series is, you know, this young group of players is going to come and supplement what they already have on that roster.
I didn't have Christian Campbell being this good this early.
he's blown everybody out of the water.
He's hitting 313, Jake.
I know we don't care about batting average,
but I do.
When there's a three in front of it, I care about it.
Well, and for on-base percentage,
it's when there's a four.
I mean, 420, plays it, baby.
He's a 3-4-fiver.
Golly.
300 batting average,
400 on base, a 515 slug as a rookie.
And, man, I feel like this guy
of their big three prospects
was the guy that was maybe talked about the least.
Yes.
And those other two haven't gotten their look yet.
So the future is bright in Boston.
Congrats to Christian Campbell
and a group of young second basement
and our guy Dylan Moore,
part of what's going on in Seattle right now.
At shortstop, I do think,
I do think we have the winner.
John Bino is here.
Can't wait for this.
I have Torkelson.
Reason?
He has the reason.
The reason being the splits are way better.
He hits lefties and righties both well.
He is hitting starting pitcher first time, second time, third time well,
relieving relief pitcher first time well.
I couldn't find a negative split on him where Soderstrom has more in balance to his game.
That's why he's the best.
That's it.
Congrats to Spencer Torkelson.
Hey, Kim.
Austin Riley.
Tubbles numbers are crazy.
Yeah.
Austin Riley does not have 24 doubles for everyone listening.
Okay.
Spencer Torkelson.
Congratulations.
Get torqued up.
How about the turnaround from him this year?
And the great John Bino in on the stats.
Does he have like a car sponsorship?
Like torque is like he plays and does.
Right. He plays in Detroit.
Right. We got a board, right? That's Detroit.
General Motors.
All the car dealerships used to be there.
Torque. I think they needed to see this first month before we could get some sponsors going.
But I'm glad it's happening.
Travis, short's up. I was laying it out.
Actually, maybe this is tighter than I thought because Bobby Witt seems to be the king.
He was the king last year, and it looks like that might roll on for the better part of a decade.
But we're seeing some impressive war numbers.
Jeremy Pena, who's moved up the lineup and the glove always is there for him.
J.P. Crawford, your guy, guy.
Volpe and Jacob Wilson are on this list for doing some impressive things.
I do think it's Bobby Witt, but I would love to know if you're seeing something different.
I think it's Bobby, too.
The numbers aren't as dominant as they've been in years past.
At least, you know, talking about like his peers and him.
Pena, yeah, he put up a great war.
war season but bobby just the overall game for bobby is always just going to be there leads and
stolen bases leads in ops uh and again like i tend to lean if there's anything close which i don't
think it really is close here but if it is close i will lean on guys we think can win the stoke
and i think bobby's a guy like that so again if the if the numbers didn't say so we're not
just going to pick bobby whit just to pick bobby whip but i think right now uh
he's he's he's he's still above everybody else shout out jacob wilson he's been impressive in 321 we know about him
people are comparing him to luiseraise j p crawfords have been playing great in seattle you know this offense
7887 ops out of him you know 12 runs driven in in the month like this is what seattle's needed him
dillon more cow raleigh like this is why you know they have the fourth or fifth best ops in the game and why
we're stoked on the mariners but i think bobby wilson or excuse me bobby
Wilson. Bobby Witt has my vote for shortstop. Yeah, it's it's the right vote. He's got nine stolen
bases. That's more than everyone. The OPS is about 60 plus 70 points higher than everyone. His glove
always works that yeah, if you're if you're going to knock Bobby Witt off, you got to do it.
And like you mentioned, JP getting on base at a 415 clip. Let's see more of that.
You see that the walk to strikeout ratio with J.P. Crawford 19 walks, 21 strikers. You know
that gets me ready.
There's someone walks to strikeouts that I don't know if you're prepared for later in this episode
that might blow your mind.
Congrats to Bobby Witt.
And a group of young delicious short stops.
Finishing around the infield, the third base position, an AL third baseman, Trev.
That's you and me every day of our lives.
And we've got all of it.
We've got the legends.
J-RAM is floating around in here.
the kids junior caminero trying to establish himself in this league
Josh Smith the wild card
and then two guys that are kind of connected now
I think it's down to ESOC Paredes in Houston
in the former Houston third baseman Alex Bregman
It is and it is and I think Breggman kind of runs away with this
another three four five guys so shout out Boston
for having got two guys doing that
Bregman hitting 331, 401 OBP 570 slug.
I think Bregman runs away with this.
One of the best free agent signs of the offseason.
We talked about what kind of player he can be
and what a perfect fit he would be for a few teams.
But he goes to Boston.
They have the Deverex controversy.
It doesn't bother Bregman at all.
A hell of an April for him.
He gets my vote.
I don't even think it's close.
It's true.
I was trying to build the moment just a little bit,
trying to get my Chris Rose on.
I didn't know Bregman was going.
like this. And this is another reason we
do this.
You know, I knew Bregman had a couple big games
and was off to a solid start, but I mean, him
and Christian Campbell are
three, four, fiving
at batting average on base and slug.
And Trevor's story didn't get mentioned
with the short stops. Dalton had him as an
honorable mention. But the
Red Sox in that infield are
getting a lot of contribution.
And Bregman, if he
keeps this up, remember that contract
with the opt-outs? And
could get very interesting
because a guy who got paid paid
could get even more paid
the most war
the best offensive numbers
another guy whose glove is always there
Boss has been coming on strong
17 and 14 now only a game and a half out
from your Yankees
What was that?
You heard that
No I don't think I heard that
Yankees are in first place
by one and a half games
It's uh
yeah
Boston is starting to close
I'm seeing their fans starting to get a little more juicy and good.
Let's have a Yankee Sox Summit kid.
Oh my God.
And maybe on your way there, why don't you stop off at the Best Western?
They've specifically asked me to not do it in a Boston accent.
Today's episode is brought to you by Best Western.
Life's a trip, so why not make the most of it?
4,000 hotels worldwide.
Best Western is there for every detour destination and unexpected turn along the way.
whether you're hitting the road for traveling,
chasing the next big game,
there's a room waiting for you.
And guess what?
Travel is not always predictable,
but that's why Best Western is there
for every wrong turn that leads to the right story.
Stay out a little later,
take the scenic route, and make the most of the ride.
If you're ready to get your next adventure going,
it's waiting for you at Best Western.
Life's a trip.
Make the most of it at bestwestern.com.
Trev, the American League Outfield,
for those new to this show.
We do treat center field different.
We need at least one center fielder.
We do think that is a different position
that you need someone who is playing that actively.
From there, it could be multiple center fielers.
It could be two left fielder.
It could be whatever.
So it usually starts with the center field position
and it's not the list I thought we'd have coming into the year.
Trenk Grisham.
From my Yankees.
If you told me there was a Yankee center fielder up,
I would have said it was Cody Bellinger before the season.
Trent Grisham is on some Ruthian stuff
as he is one dotting early on in this season.
Now he hasn't been playing every day,
so I don't know if he's going to get the belt.
Cameron Meisner.
Everyone had him for the raise this year,
so I don't need to tell the people that he's batting 311
with a 915 OPS.
Everyone already knows Cameron Miseners.
I don't need to talk about him.
Now this one,
Cedric Mullins,
one of the only Orioles,
I think the only bird we've mentioned up into this point,
and he has been fantastic.
283, 421, a 954 OPS.
War-wise, and a lot of the stats, he is there.
I'm interested to see if you have another angle on it.
As far as center fielders go,
and you mentioned we do have to have,
and I think it is Cedric Mullins.
You know, shout out Trent Gristram.
You mentioned the plate appearances.
He took my guy Gibby Deep last night and just that was an absolute laser.
He's got some pop in his bag.
He's always kind of had that.
I'm glad that he,
you know what?
I'm glad he's doing what he's doing because he's been known as a defensive first guy.
But again, like, you know, I think for him, he knows that he can hit in the big leagues too.
And it's kind of finally coming.
to fruition for him. So shout out for the start for him. And you mentioned Cameron
Meisner, who's been a devil out there defensively. But Mollins, to me, is our center
fielder. And good for Cedric contract year. And, you know, he's had some ups and downs where
the numbers landed in okay spots, but there's some injuries mixed in that you had to
constantly kind of butter knife and say what Cedric Mullins are we getting. So far this year,
they have not six home runs, 17, 17 runs.
20 RBI.
Still stealing some bags.
Rob to Homer
very casually two nights ago.
He's one of those guys that has a high floor
because of the defense that he plays.
You know, 22 through 24,
the offensive stats,
718 OPS, 105 OPS plus,
but he's averaging three war a season
because of what he could do, you know,
just all around the diamond.
So I'm happy to see the offense really,
really coming around.
Birds obviously desperately need that
as almost every other person on the team is struggling offensively.
We know the start that they've gotten out to,
but he's been in a bright spot for them.
So I'm going to give snaps to Cedric Mollins for our centerfield spot in April.
Congrats.
AL Centerfielder, Cedric Mullins.
We do have another guy.
Please, you can introduce him.
Okay.
Your guy, Aaron Judge, is incredible.
You know, the talk lately has been where does he land,
not only as far as right-handed hitters all time,
but just hitters all time,
because we're seeing stuff right now
that we only see from Babe Ruth,
when you're talking about statistics.
Aaron Judge, hitting 4-12.
Let me get this out.
Let me make sure I get all this right.
He's hitting 4-12.
Yeah, only 4-12.
He's got a 507 on-base percentage
and a 728 slug for a $1.00.
He's 4-5-7ing it.
I've never said that out loud, I don't think.
Almost three F-war and one month.
We're talking this guy is on pace for 18 war.
Yeah, see, you'd like to think that's got to slow down
because that's never happened.
You'd like to think it does.
A 251 weighted runs created plus,
this guy is,
he's in the discussion for best hitter of all time,
and I think people need to start realizing,
that and go, you got to go watch this guy hit.
And just a reminder to everyone else,
he had a down April last year that, you know,
landed him at 58 home runs or whatever the final number was.
So if it continues like this, watch out, he is,
it's nothing I've ever seen.
I don't think it's anything baseball's ever seen.
He's literally like 6-7, 6-8,
maybe pushing three bills moves well.
It all, it feels video gamey.
Him and his friend who's now in the National League.
Congrats to Aaron Judge.
The last outfield spot, Trev.
I got a lot of names on the board.
I'll let you run.
I think I'm going, Willier-A-you-with-this.
Of the guys that are left,
he has the most runs driven in,
which I love for my outfielers,
four stolen bases, no caught stealing, so he's got that in the bag as well.
Hitting 23.
He's almost 3.45ing it.
He's hitting 293, 409, 554 for the 963 OPS.
I like the way he goes and gets it in the outfield as well.
He's been one of my favorite players over the last couple years.
So he gets my vote.
I'm curious to see if you have anybody different.
I also landed at Wheelier.
I think the guy that might be pushing him the most is Zach McKinstree from your Detroit
Tigers, which we've been shouting him out a lot lately and deservedly so.
You know, some of the other guys we're looking at Stephen Kwan, who always enters the running
for what he does on both sides of the ball.
Wyatt Langford, maybe if he got started a couple days earlier because he's been going
nuts recently.
And how about George Springer, Carrie Carpenter, a couple dogs fighting on the board.
But wheelier is the vote.
We talked about him that first week.
I think there was a little slowdown.
But man, I didn't, like the on-base percentage.
I didn't know he had that.
He's got every tool in the bag, man.
He's real deal.
He is the real deal out there.
God.
Okay.
So you're-
The Red Sox.
Yeah.
That's scary.
Congrats.
Cedric Mullins, Aaron, Judge.
And wheel here.
Abraeu as the American League outfield.
To finish off the American League
the D.H and starting pitcher.
Starting pitcher gets ugly,
so I feel like I do this a lot.
But let's get it over with,
because I actually do think for one month of pitching,
I do think there's a winner.
And it's not my Max Fried.
It's not crochet.
Sorry, Boston.
I think Hunter Brown clears,
the kids would say.
It's interesting.
There's a lot.
Tyler Malley had a really, really good April.
His last start, he gave up a few,
few runs that kind of pushed the numbers in Hunter Brown's favor. Chris Bassett was on a tear for his
first four or five starts. The same thing, kind of got snake bit there. But Hunter Brown, since,
you know, May of last year has been one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. You know,
with the numbers that I'm looking at, I tend to agree with you that he has taken it for April.
There's bad, man, these guys have some really good stats right now. Malley has been
so dang good. And that's the crazy thing about this season is Texas off to a pretty good start.
It's been there starting pitching. Yeah. Their offense has been atrocious and Malley's been a
huge part of that. But Houston and Hunter Brown, I think you're right, Jake. I'm going to give it
to him as well. 0.84 whip lowest amongst any of the guys that we have on the sheet, highest F war,
highest B war as well. The FIP is there to 1.84 FIP. He's been a, he's, he's,
He's been a demon, as the kids say.
It's dominant.
That fastball is on a string sometimes.
It almost doesn't look real.
And if you're new to this, the pitchers are really tough.
Their numbers end up so similar that we,
you really have to deep dive,
and it's kind of what ice cream flavor do you like.
Congrats Hunter Brown.
Let's end the American League with the DH and Trev.
You want to walk us through it because I can't believe what I saw.
There has been some great performance.
here. You know, Ryan O'Hern has been another bright spot, I guess, for the Orioles. So it's
been him and Cedric. It's good to see him going. I told you Kyle Minzardo's going to hit 30
homers this year. He had a nice start. Your guy, Ben Rice, has been a big reason why the Yankees
are in first place. I had some question marks about that youth in the lineup, and they've answered
the bell there early on. But Jorge Polanco, man, changed the stance a little bit, opened up,
and has been absolutely crushing it.
And we talked about the Mariners,
what they're doing offensively.
A lot of that comes from my guy.
He's sitting 389, 423 with an 819 slug.
He's 1.2ing it, Jake.
I think reigning AO player of the week,
Jorge Polanco gets the pedal for DH in April.
Yeah, that it kind of ends the conversation.
He's a couple games short of rice.
Manzardo and Rooker.
But the numbers
are so much better.
The counting stats are there.
389 batting average.
Okay.
Like you said, an 819 slug.
Like, that's, I'm sorry,
if you're a Yankees fan and you want to fight for Ben Rice,
the slugging is 200 points lower.
I couldn't believe it.
I did not know.
I knew he was playing well.
I did not know the number.
were like this, another part of Seattle's offense.
And if you're mad at your team's offense right now,
this guy's free agency lingered.
And nobody made the move on it.
And then Seattle did.
And everyone was like, didn't this just kind of not work?
Good on both of them.
Good on Seattle.
Good on Polo as he is the ALDH.
So Trev, now we kind of have to put it to a fan vote.
So I guess who are your top three or so snubbies
that deserve to be left to the people?
So for the fan vote, Jake, I think we have our three guys.
And I think this might be in April we look back at and say,
excuse me?
Because some of these guys are almost all of aren't necessarily household names.
And we talked about that.
Towards the end of the year, you kind of get those.
But in April, these three guys, I think, deserve to be in the fan vote.
We're going to bring back Tyler Sotom,
for what he's done for the A's,
very, very close there in the A.L. First Baseman.
We're going to do Zach McKinstree,
who has been a dog for the Detroit Tigers.
And then who is the other one?
Oh, yeah, your guy, Ben Rice.
Looks good.
Those three names being up just smells like
we're going to look back at April being like, whoa.
Okay, I remember that.
But it's up to you fans to pick one of those.
those guys who can get their pedal.
And who knows, maybe we'll be talking about one of these guys for a Silver Daisy.
We don't know.
Right?
And that's why we want to get ahead of this.
That's why we want to put it out there.
If one of these guys does have the year that establishes them, we can say we had it first.

In the National League, Trev,
I can't believe where this starts out.
Because I think a running joke of this,
I think will continue.
Because I thought Will Smith was killing it this year,
and he is, and the numbers are very good.
I thought he outplayed Kibbert Ruiz
and Sean Murphy with a late push to get into this mix.
Have you seen Carson Kelly's numbers?
They're out of this world.
And for me to say that in a serious tone, felt weird, but it's true.
No, it's, it's insane what he's doing.
It's Aaron Judge Ish right now with the 268 weighted runs created plus three.
He's in 370 with a 524 OBP and an 891 slug for a 1.4 on the year.
The plate appearances are light because at the beginning of the year, he wasn't playing much.
sporadically, if you will,
but it's gotten more and more
as the month has gone on.
The numbers are kind of undeniable.
Shout out Sean Murphy in the glasses.
He's getting it going.
I've seen Will Smith a couple times in person.
He looks great,
but Carson Kelly's numbers are,
they're just overwhelming.
I mean, not only is he hitting for average for power,
but he's walking in a 23% clip.
He's striking out at a 7% clip.
Like he is,
he's got 15
Is this right?
This is what I was teeing up before.
15 walks to five strikeouts?
Yes, Treff.
Get me aged up right now.
Too late.
I can't.
It literally feels unreal.
15 walks to five strikeouts.
I'm looking at the reference page right now
so Dalton did not mess this up.
Shout out Dalton Feely.
Wow.
A 1.4 OPA.
I,
If Judge was doing this...
Judge who? Right? It's Carson Kelly's world.
And it's...
If you've been watching us for the past few years now, thank you so much.
Will Smith, it just seems every time
one person gets in his way.
He's hitting three...
Will Smith's hitting 316, a 426 on base, a 5...
He's 3.4.5ing.
Carson Kelly...
Carson Kelly is 3.5.
8ing.
And it can't be denied.
Congrats to Carson Kelly.
I mean, that's, it's one of the most special months I feel like we've seen.
He's come up big for them.
He's hit, he's just hitting every game, essentially.
I'm looking at the reference page right now.
He goes like back-to-back games where he'll go 0 for 3 and then he'll go 4 for 5 or
3 for 4.
Like he just, he's filling up the, the stat line, man.
First base is, I think, an easy one.
I'll do this in reverse what I normally do it,
when I build up the other guys.
Pete Alonzo, if you've seen what's going on in Treves' flushings.
Offensively, he's been the guy.
He's three-four-sixing.
He's clearing, he almost has two war.
He's leading essentially every offensive stat from the first baseman.
So that's what I'll say.
I'm looking at right now the strikeout percentage is way down to 15%.
It was 24 last year.
The walk percentage is also at 15%.
It was at 10 last year.
And essentially, it's a contract year, right?
Because he has an opt out after this year.
Okay.
He's doing everything that he needs to be doing.
And then for the Mets, I mean, you have to feel.
ecstatic about having him hitting behind Soto.
I told you, like, that is one of the best places to hit in all the baseball.
You're going to come up with runners in scoring position all the time,
or at least runners on base, and he's doing it, man.
And the Mets look great.
I wore it a little this offseason because I was on this whole rant,
like how many times do a true power hitter like this hit free agency?
That it's 35 or 40 or 50 homers a year.
And no one jumped at it.
Everyone got scared at how he was going to age.
people were wondering if the Mets were waiting for Vladdy.
Vladdy signed.
Pete looks like he's returned to form.
And if he hits free agency again,
Uncle Stevie might have to really roll it out.
That it might be a very funny juxtaposition.
Using that right?
No, that's not.
I don't think so.
That's not the right way to use that.
But you're right because when you see Francisco
and Dorwan Soto Pete Alonzo,
hitting back to back to back,
you want to keep that together as long as possible.
Right.
I wanted to
They would have just given him a little more
Like you were they got kind of like greedy
And they're like
I don't know man
Right
Uh
Very ancient
We applauded the Mets for the contract that they gave Pete
Because we felt like it was
Severely undervalued
And now here we go
Clearly he was
And now he's gonna demand
Yeah much more
Sorry to Michael Bush
Sorry to Freddie Freeman
Always a classic
Do you think they're gonna renegotiate
during the year?
No.
I think Pete's on an FU tour.
I don't think so.
I think Pete wants to be there.
And he's like, if you guys come to the table and pay me,
like, I will be here.
Everyone, Pete wants to be there.
That was a big part that hurt his free agency.
Yeah.
Yeah, if some previously discussed numbers were to land in that area,
what are we really doing?
And my God, where would that put Cohen with Mets fans?
It's like we had a guy balling out midseason.
We paid him.
I like it.
If I'm Pete, I'm saying, no, Stevie, you...
They might have said some mean things to Peter during his free agency.
You know what clears that up and makes it all better, Jake?
A little bit of cash-ish.
About $170 million?
Congrats to Peter.
Sorry, Josh Naylor as well.
Josh Naylor, very good baseball player.
Like, I know that's acknowledged,
but I feel like he's been talked on all JM for the past two years.
And that's impressive.
He's kind of Will Smith-ish.
Ooh.
Will Smith thick.
Let's go to second base because this is ugly.
Trevin, ugly in a good way, I'll say this.
Brandon Donovan, all he does is hit.
Tommy Edmund, it feels like every highlight of his was hitting a home run,
which is supposed to be the worst part of his game.
Bryson Stott, hello Bryson, kind of an important year for him.
And then Bryce Terang, who people know I love on this show for what he can do.
defensively and offensively.
Where do you start, coach?
I think this is between Brendan Donovan and Tommy Edmund,
and I think there's one glaring stat that's going to give my vote,
at least to Brendan Donovan.
Okay.
Yeah, if you're looking, look, I love Tommy Evan.
I love the versatility.
I love watching him play.
You're right about the power.
It's just really come on since he's been in L.A.
him and Brendan kind of have similar statistics.
You're going by the counting stats.
I just lost it.
Here we go.
12 extra base hits for Brendan Donovan.
13 for Tommy Eben.
Now, Tommy does have the homers.
Eight homers for Tommy.
Three for Brendan Donovan.
Tommy has more runs driven in.
He scored more runs.
Here's a thing, though.
Brandon Donovan's OPS is 9-10.
Tommy Evans is 818 because
of the on-base percentage.
Brendan Donovan has a 391 on-base percentage
to Tommy Edmund's 295.
If we're this close and there's something that drastic,
that's kind of what changes it for me.
You can sway me the other way
because the counting stats are there for Tommy,
but I have Brandon Donovan winning this month.
Arkansigliari.
Is it split?
I haven't cast a belly
Yeah
Oh
Well I don't want to ruin your...
But I wasn't going Brendan Donovan
I am going Brendan Donovan
Okay that's what I thought
He's been crazy consistent
Really good
He's only got...
I can't hear Jimmy
He's only got four hitless games
And two of them he got to walk
So he only has two empty games on his stat sheet
Which is huge
He's contributing every single day
He's not walking
But I think he just wants to fuck out of there
So he's trying to swing
You can't walk off the island
There you go.
Off the island.
Yeah, I was leaning Edmund.
That on-base percentage is low,
but it also is ignoring what Tommy Edmund does
on the defensive side of the baseball field every day
that with his Homer surge, I was leaning him over to Rang.
I'm happy for Brendan Donovan.
What, I mean, a guy, another trade rumor guy,
people were wondering, is St. Louis going to do this?
Is it not?
And now his baseball reference looks completely different
because it's like, oh, wait, this guy always.
hits, huh? It's a good feeling.
It's a good feeling.
Let's hop over to third base while we've got
John Bino here, because I think that's another
tight one.
And Trev, you know,
you're a famous NL third baseman
from your Phillies days.
Nolan Aronado in
St. Louis, constantly ends up here
a little offense, a lot of defense. Matt
Chapman, L.O.L. Same.
from the Giants.
Young Thick Austin Riley and
Ae Ae Ae Aeolos Juarez, who might be
leanin hard on a
four homer night and a hot first weekend
a 198 batting average.
So I'm worried about Gino in this.
Trev, where do you start?
This is a good one because these are familiar names.
These are the guys that are going to be battling it out all year
unless Nolan Aeronado gets traded.
Cardinals fans close your ears.
I think they kind of expected.
Aronado, Chapman, Riley.
There's a couple things that I like here.
I'm leaning Matt Chapman,
as he probably figured out because he's my guy.
But also, I love the walk to strikeout ratio, 26 walks to 33, so almost a one to one there.
Aeronado, you can say, well, he has 14 walks to eight strikeouts.
So I love that too.
This is really close.
The more and more I look at it, the less and less certain I get right here.
I think Chapman right now is the best defensively out of these three.
I know Nolan's looked good there as well, but all around game right now, I got a lean check.
He's got him in stolen bases.
He's got him in a way to runs Crated Plus.
The war supports that as well.
I think he's my guy, but it's pretty close.
You think he's your guy because he doesn't text you back or what?
He texts me back all the time.
All the time.
He just had a birthday.
What, yesterday?
Young Thick is out for me amongst this crop.
Gino, as I teed up.
I am going Nolan, not just to be difficult,
but I've got 50 more batting average points.
I've got more slug.
I think he's come into this season.
You know, speaking of trade rumors,
I mean, he had to turn one down.
He's looked fantastic so far.
And yeah,
Maddie Chapman's 206 batting averages hurting me a little bit.
I feel like war-wise,
he's getting a boost from his four stolen bases,
but I'm not really worried.
No, it's his defense.
Look, you can talk about batting average.
He's a higher on base percentage.
percentage than Nolan Aronado? That's great. That's great. I'm getting more slug out of Nolan right now.
And I think those two defensively they could dance all day. Jimbo?
I'm trying to figure out why I didn't have Aronado because I didn't write that down.
Suarez can't have him. I'm glad that everyone agreed. I was worried I was going to have to come in and explain why he can't have it.
I mean, he's the worst third baseman in every department of stats.
And he has not hit lefties for shit.
He's got like,
he's got four games carrying him.
Which good.
He had the first five games he had homers and then he had a four homer game.
Yeah.
And that's good.
I mean,
it's not a bad thing,
but it's not going to be your best.
And then I,
I did it between Riley and Chapman.
So I'm trying to go back to the original notes and figure out why I,
I didn't have Aronado in here.
And I don't really understand.
I don't remember.
or maybe I just didn't do it.
I went young thick was my final vote.
So that puts us in a difficult spot.
Yeah.
He's up there.
So I think Austin Riley and Matt Chapman are very close.
And again,
I don't know if that's because I forgot to take Aeronado into effect
in all my searching or if there was something I found that I didn't like.
Trev just put a little sauce on Nolan.
14 walks, eight strikeouts.
I said that.
Yeah.
Said that.
That's beautiful.
You know that gets me going.
I'm just looking up one thing on Austin.
I think I do have to apologize because I think I just didn't even like.
Okay.
Put his name in.
Okay.
I was looking defense.
I know obviously no Maddie Chapman's going to be there.
He is ahead defensively.
He has four outs above average that puts him in the 95th percentile.
But Austin Riley has two.
Let's put him in the 91st percent.
So when I was going between the two of them, I was like, all right, the final numbers here are very similar.
So let's go to defense and look at that.
and and like Swarres was out.
And Young Thick, it was close enough that I'm like,
that doesn't seal it for Chapman if he was terrible defensively,
but he's doing positive stuff on the other side of the ball.
So then I went into, well, how are they getting these numbers?
Like, are they doing it daily?
Are they helping out every day?
Are they, you know, the splits?
And for Chapman, the splits aren't there.
He's feasting when he sees a starting pitcher the third time through.
And that's really his only time where he's like,
going off when he sees a starting pitcher the first time,
starting pitcher the second time,
relief pitch of the first time,
none of those are above average.
So I was like,
okay.
So that gave me the lean,
young thick because he's kind of split proof again.
And I'm all about consistency.
I don't want guys that can't hit versus one pitcher,
but can the other relievers can dice them up
because they got a weak spot.
But again,
I didn't look in Aronado,
I don't think.
So I watched it.
Has he convinced you?
at all, Jake, to change your vote?
I mean, I like
Austin Riley,
but I don't know.
It might be,
it might be a three-headed,
who's the fourth tiebreaker?
Jerry Blevins?
It's got to be that
freaking martini drink and Jolly Olive, I think.
Jolly, you were just texted.
It's the third text you've got for me
that you haven't responded to.
I was shooting a video.
Yeah, I bet.
This is unprecedented.
I don't think we've ever,
had a fourth vote come in as a tiebreaker and a you can't know who's who i've i've texted you
the names i will say them in alphabetical order aranado chapman and rightly i have my pick whoa
it's a big can i know who you guys voted for first nope okay um it's austin red
wow wow is there are there stats do you did you look at the stats it's i so i know the
stats are close.
I helped Dalton with the sheet.
Oh.
Just so you know I helped Dalton with the sheet.
This is a pick based on who I think has the best shot of getting all the pedals.
Because they're close enough that I'm picking who I think is going to have the best season.
I think that's awesome.
Wow.
A daisy elitist.
Who went Riley?
I'm guessing it wasn't either of you.
I'm guessing it was Jimmy.
John Beano went Riley, but he openly admitted he forgot to research Aeronado and he was liking the numbers he saw.
Aronado's been good.
It's still a lot of just whole power.
And like I feel like that's, you know, at this stage in his career,
it's going to be tough to last that over six months.
Congrats to Youngthick Austin Riley.
Who show is this?
Is it ours or is it these two guys?
You asked me in here.
It's always been John.
You asked me to come in.
It's always been John.
Thank you, John.
I'm not, you know I'll give you crap.
I don't know what that's about.
That's because you keep leaving me out of your photo dumps.
Okay.
Get in the photos, big dog.
Hey, Treve, J.M. Mets tonight. Jake not showing up again.
Jolly scheduled it on another Talking Yanks record night.
I didn't hear what he just said.
He did J.M. Mets, they get a group. They go to the stadium. They have fun. Jolly schedules everyone the night that I'm recording talking Yanks at 10.30 p.m.
So I couldn't go if I wanted to. Wow. That a legendary NL third base performance.
Shout out to Jim. Shout out to Jolly. Shout out to Robert Bagley and Hutch subscribing to our Jams.
Substack website.

Austin Riley, your third baseman.
Trevor, in that, skip the shortstop position because I do, well, I'd love to hear
what you have to say, because I think it's a two-horse race.
With my snakes, Geraldo Pardomo has put together one of the best months you can see
from the shortstop position.
He refuses to strike out.
He's getting on base.
There's pop there.
It's him and Lindor.
Both can pick it.
Both have their approach at the plate
that is working.
Shout out to Ellie and Mookie,
but it's down to those two.
Yeah, Predomo just brings that all-around game.
He's so good on that Diamondbacks team.
Like, he fits so well there.
But I'm leaning Frankie here.
Just from...
Hates that.
What's that?
Frankie.
Oh, yeah, sorry.
I'm leaning Francisco Indoor, Mr. Smile.
Yes.
Teammates of Dr. Smooth back in the day.
Name him.
Who's that?
It's Michael Brantley.
Come on.
Okay.
Come on.
What?
I'm going Francisco Indoor here.
Again, I love me from Rolto Podomo, but what he means to the Mets and that city
and where they're at and the standings, I don't know, man.
That means something to me.
Baton lead off doing his thing.
Love it.
I'm going Frankie.
I don't think it's that close for me.
Yeah, I mean, it's one of those cases where all the numbers are close,
but Lindor is better in a lot of them,
and both of these guys can handle the glove.
But Lindor, I mean, you know, there's a Mets inning yesterday
that it was just defensive highlights after I was tough on their defense.
And Lindor defensively, he's going to go down as one of the all-time great.
So that's tough for my guy Perdomo, who's been awesome.
He's been great.
The war supports him.
Again, we love the walks to strikeouts.
The on base percentages there for him over Lindor,
but I think overall baseball player and overall month,
I'm taking Francisco Lindor.
Hits, homers, runs, OPS slugging.
Congrats to Francisco Lindor in the New York metropolitan.

Trevor National League Outfield, we have some...
I don't like this one.
Really? Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
And again, it starts ugly because we need a center fielder.
And I love what O'Neill Cruz has done,
stolen base and power-wise, but he's currently getting Alford
I mean, two young hot boys.
It's PCA for the Chicago Cubs,
and it's Jung Hu Lee.
Both of these guys have been revelations for their franchise,
and this is a,
this is anything you can do, I can do better.
The back and forth between batting average to power to defense.
I have mine, but the people want to hear you.
This is tough.
In my head.
And one of these guys can also roll over.
We do have another outfield position.
There's other guys, too.
I mean, we haven't talked about Corbyn Carroll, Tautis, or Kyle Tucker yet.
The NL is so freaking stacked at the outfield position.
It's ridiculous.
We're naming our center fielder right now.
That's what you want me to do between PCA and Jung Lee?
That's what I want.
Look, I was coming in ready to say PCA in a heartbeat.
Hello.
I think it's Jung Hu Lee.
Whoa.
Tell me why.
I don't really have a good reason why.
I mean, I guess I'm looking at overall slash line.
He's there.
He's hitting 321, 379, 536 for the 915, 153 WRC plus.
It's a better slash line than PCH.
There's nothing to scoff that.
284, 325, 543 for the 868.
They both play great defense.
Pete's got him in the stolen base department.
but I think the slash line to me does it?
If you're both playing good defense,
but you're out-slashing him in every facet,
I think I got to go Jung-Hul-Lee.
And I don't necessarily want to, but I have to, Pop.
Yeah, there's a reason it's interesting.
I mean, Pete has shown more power and more speed.
So, yes, you're getting most of the triple slash,
not slug. Pete does have them.
12 stolen bases from PCA.
And I don't want to say legendary defense,
but the rumors of them were,
and now he's showing that every day that I'm on the other side of the fence here.
And I've loved Jung Hoo Lee,
and I don't know if he finds a way into my outfield,
but I just think Pete Crow Armstrong and what he has done.
And I know, this is brutal.
I sent the text to Jim, even if you,
If you land where you land, just because I'd love to hear what he says,
because this is razor thin.
And I guess I've just been lying to the people,
because I don't think whoever loses this makes,
they might make the fan vote.
Might make the fan vote.
But I don't think they're making the outfield because it is stacked.
Let's toss it to Jim for center fielder.
I'm curious to see who you want for the other two slots.
So one, I do have one that's obvious and one that's not for me.
Corbyn Carroll, for me, is obvious.
Okay, snaps.
I mean, I'm not Corbyn, yeah.
He's one dotting, no one else is,
and that's not his best tool or even close.
Like, he's an absolute speed maniac.
What he has provided to the dimebacks this year,
a 645 slugging out of that body.
Look at that body.
Nine home runs that ties them with Teot.
Oscar and James Wood for the tops in the NL.
25 runs is that that second to King Tuck?
I just think the next conversation gets ugly,
and if you lump him into the next conversation,
he wins that that Corbyn Carroll's on the team.
Snaps for Corbyn Carroll.
I think the next two guys we're going to talk about to decide,
you know, who's going to be the last NL outfieler
of Fernando Tatee Jr. and Kyle Tucker.
Again, shout out James Wood.
I mean, even shout out our guy Gavin Lux, who's had a hell of a month.
But yeah, I think it's between these two right now.
Tatease is almost one dotting it at 994.
Kyle Tucker has a 965 OPS.
Tatease has him by one homer.
Kyle Tucker has him in the RBI department.
This is both guys play really good defense out there.
these are two of the premier players in all of baseball, Jake.
I know.
I always start off.
Where are you leaning?
Yeah, I do.
I do like to feed that to you.
Honestly, I,
coming into this,
it was Fernando or Tucker.
I guess for me,
if PCA isn't involved,
like I need to lump him into this
because I do think what he's doing is incredible,
just in case if John goes to,
to Jung Hu,
my original outfield coming into this was PCA and center
Corbyn Carroll in the corner and Fernando
That's what I had too
Okay
Okay
But then you dive a little deeper
And Zhang Hu Lee jumps out
And Kyle Tucker is obviously going to be there
Okay how about this
Between Fernando and Kyle Tucker
Because the numbers offensively are so similar
Fernando is blowing him out of the water defensively.
Kyle Tucker is not graded out.
I watched him play and he's made some really nice plays.
Not grading out right now particularly well in the outfield.
Yeah.
And the speed isn't necessarily there this year.
I know.
It's what,
I mean, Fernando seven steals Kyle Tucker eight.
That's weird.
It's a good base runner, not fast.
Yeah, and that's...
I don't know.
There's some early season stuff with the defensive stats.
again, we're using every bit of information we have at this point that, you know,
it's a lot of eye test for me, if I'm being honest.
There's something about Fernando.
I don't know.
If these stats were switched, I'd like to think, I genuinely like to think if these
stats were switched, that I would pick Kyle Tucker.
Something, people aren't going to love this.
The 330 batting average does do something for me.
when the on base is the same
and the slugging
is essentially the same.
Fernando does have him beat in those.
Both these guys can play
world-class defense.
Kyle Tucker has more walks and strikeouts.
You know that tugs in my heartstrings big.
I do know.
I don't know if this should help or hurt.
Kyle Tucker has two more games.
Fernando's numbers are there.
I'm Fernando.
Corbyn Carroll,
Fernando, snap.
Okay.
Whoever doesn't win between PCA and Zhang Guli for Jim's vote goes in the fan vote.
Kyle Tucker will also be in the fan.
Yeah, have to.
God, if it's PCA and Tucker, is that a double elimination?
That's sheesh.
Texas has been sent to Jom, no response yet.
Let us move on to the designated hitter because this one's not as clean as you'd like.
And maybe it's a couple names you wouldn't expect.
Say a Suzuki, another cub.
that I've tried to highlight whenever I can.
He has been raking this year.
Pavin Smith
with the 1.1,
the 205 weighted runs created plus.
His numbers are Gadsukes, if you will.
Shohay, Ozuna, and Schwabber
end up here every year.
Trev, I'll tee it up again.
I have lean Shohay.
I'm wondering if there's bias.
The speed always becomes a game changer for me.
He has eight stolen bases.
while neither of these other guys have more than two,
and that one guy is Schwaber.
Every number is there.
For me, it comes down to him and Pavin Smith.
Pavin Smith has 40 less plate appearances for me,
and right now that gap between what Shohay Otani brings
for 40 plate appearances,
what, show hey essentially brings for, what, nine games?
That, for me, was my difference maker.
I'm going showy here.
Shout out, Pave.
Yeah, the plate appearances.
mean something and also again I think
showy's got a shot at the silver daisy
and I don't
think the numbers I lean
him anyway
because I think the numbers overall are better
so I'm not going to take
his chance away at the silver daisy
he deserves this pedal anyway but I
also I think about stuff like that
so I'm taking show hey with the DH
congrats to show hey Otony
sorry to all our Pavin
Smith snake stands
if he keeps those stats
up. But yeah, I mean, that's, you know, almost half of his played appearances this year. He would
have to replicate. Congrats to Show Hey. So that leaves, okay, so our current fan vote is Kyle Tucker,
whoever loses center field, and do we need one more? I don't think we left anybody out to
like, oh man, he needs to be in there, especially when it comes to going up against those two.
Pardomo?
We can put Perdomo in there. I put Perdomo in there.
I think there's a Will Smith thing, which again, unfortunately, makes me giggle.
But I think Pardomo, for the shortstop position in what he's done early on this year,
it's not going to work out well for Pardomo, but I like to give him that honor.
Don't you do that to the Snakes fans?
We are mighty.
One of America's fastest growing cities.
Starting pitching.
Coach, this is Luzzi.
Mazzardo McGill, Povetta,
Schennis, or is it Skeens,
Logan Webb and Yoshinobu,
Yomamoto. You're my pitching expert, please.
I have it between three guys here,
and I don't love it. It's Povetta,
full pension, Piv, Skeens, and Webb are the guys that I'm leaning on.
Webb does have one extra start,
so that's interesting.
He's got, he's the only one with seven starts on the year.
But the quality starts between those guys are all the same.
Povetta and Skeen's numbers are eerily similar.
Yeah.
The only thing that I look at that really separates them is the whip and the,
oh no, the whip is so close.
0.8 for Skeens and 0.82 for Povetta,
it's the FIP is a little different,
which is fielding independent pitching, which, you know,
whatever you got to do for that one.
pitchers love that statistic.
I always tell people that.
That's 175 for Skeens and 229 for Pavetta.
I think Eileen Skeens here.
And maybe it's name recognition.
Maybe it's what I talked about with Otani.
He has a chance to win a silver daisy.
I don't know if Pavetta is going to run the table for six months straight.
I think Paetta could.
It's all lean skeins here and see what you say, I guess.
I'm Pavetta.
Um, I'm sorry.
The, if this one, if the, if the stats are reversed, I'm going with those stats every time.
What's, what, what stats are you looking at here?
Um, the ERA is lower, uh, which I, I do enjoy allowing less earned runs, which I know that's controversial for some people.
Um, like, I don't know, the, the, the exact, it's 0.8 to 0.82. So that's, both of those are crazy elite.
he's actually opponent batting average is lower
and I mean this is going to be corny
and everyone will hate this little five and one
out of Pivotta this year
compared to the three and two from Steve.
You're just going old school statistics pop.
To divide him at this point, that's all I've got.
Jimmer Fredet is back in the room.
I did introduce our center field debacle to him.
Did you text me yet?
I did.
Jung Hu Lee versus Pete Crowe Armstrong.
J-H-L-P-C-A.
Yeah, that's where we're at.
And then if you want to get to some Pfeeta and Skeens.
My vote after going through all the stuff I go through on really close tie-breaking stuff,
and I hope the person I don't pick wins fan vote, I guess, but I am going,
Jung-Hulie, I am a hooligan.
I mean, he's only got, what I say, three games where he hasn't got a hit or a walk,
and then his splits are,
he's very good against righties,
very good against lefties.
And if you bring a reliever and to face him,
he's very good against him.
If you leave your starting pitcher to face him a third time,
very good against him.
I'm going,
I'm a hooligan.
Those third time through Giants,
congrats to Jung Huli.
Brutal for our Cubs fans.
Kyle Tulli.
Tucker and PCA end up in the fan vote with Geraldo Perdomo.
Jim, the last thing we'd be looking for you,
Pivotta and Skeens, pitchers are always gnarly, especially early.
That's very easy for me, though, unless they're, like, close.
I mean, it's just four games apiece.
That's awesome.
So Skeens has gone more innings.
Value that.
That is allowed way less runs.
Value that.
Strikeout is the same.
that has walked more.
Feta's walked more,
that probably leads to the two less innings.
I think I'm going Pivotta.
Full pension.
That's crazy how close they are.
The pitchers this early in the season are.
Yeah, we've had some bizarre winners.
But, yeah, I mean,
this is what April's four.
We're going to look back to April,
like, oh my goodness,
Povetta stole the Silver Daisy from Paul Skeen.
We have our team, and we have our fan votes now.
Bobby's flashing it on the screen
right here. I'll read it off. In the American League,
we have Cal Raleigh, Spencer Torkelson,
Christian Campbell, Bobby Witt,
Alex Bregman, Cedricemann, Cedric Mullins,
the outfield's great, and Aaron Judge,
Will you, Urbrew, Jorge Polanco,
at D.H.
And then Hunter Brown as our starting pitcher in the National
League, Carson Kelly,
the freaking Bambino right now behind the plate.
Pete Alonzo snaps for him.
Brendan Donovan, Francisco, Indoor,
Austin Riley at third base.
That was a hotly contested one.
Jung Hu Lee in Center Field, that was hotly contested.
Corbyn Carroll's just hot.
Brown Tosteis Jr., you know he's hot.
Shohei Otani at DH, starting pitcher Nick Povetta.
The fan votes.
I don't remember American League.
National League, Kyle Tucker, PCA, and Geraldo Perdomo.
In the American League, it was?
It was Soder Strom.
It was Ben Rice, and it was Zach McKinstree.
I have a question.
Jimmy has a question.
Why, why, why, Jesus, Lazzar.
who I know Jesus Lazzardo.
He's just got better numbers than both of them.
He's didn't present them to me.
That's not for you to worry about right now, Jim.
You're just to just...
Well, if I came in with the full field,
I'd vote Jesus Lazzardo on a landslide.
I went lower whip.
More innings than Pivotta,
lower ERA than Povetta,
better K through 9 than Povetta.
No way I'm voting for...
I'm voting for Lazzardo over Povetta.
No pitcher.
gets it. Jolly. God damn it. Why is Lizarro not getting it? Can you guys figure it out? What's
going on today? Jolly, an alphabetical order. I might have to be bad at this. Lazzardo. Okay.
Careful. Povetta. Okay. Skeens. You nailed it. Thank you.
One of those three? One of those three. Shits. Lizarro's been good.
say pivot is out for me.
Okay.
Whoever went with him.
Uh,
I don't want to use the same logic I did last time, but I feel like I'm going to.
So sorry?
Paul Skeck,
bait Jolly.
Clickbait Jolly.
Paul Skeens.
The April 1 matters.
It sets the tone.
Paul Skeens, congratulations.
Congratulations.
That he finally has something going for him.
Oh, is this a squad?
Lindor.
Good job.
Okay.
Good job.
Endoanzo.
Good job.
You're out.
You're out.
Hunter Brown.
Congrats.
Wow.
I was going to listen to this.
Oh, my God.
Jalik, we just lost a view.
God, damn it.
Wow.
That is the all-JM team.
We're going to send you out before we do.
We got to bet the cycle every Wednesday.
We're betting the cycle with our friends at the Draft King's sportsbook.
Make sure you use code J.M. Baseball.
And you.
can get in on the action at the Draft King Sportsbook.
Let's send it around the horn.
Coach, I will start with the signal,
because I need to get on base a little bit.
Last week, two for four,
but, you know, if you strategically place the right units.
We are going Mets to beat the snakes on Thursday.
Zach Gallen, Owen, 2 at City Field.
The D-backs, 4-18 at City Field,
since the beginning of 2018.
I'll do the double.
I'm going to take the under eight and a half runs in the A's Rangers game Wednesday night.
We got Nathan E. Ovaldi and Louis Severino pitching the Rangers right now, as I mentioned earlier, just cannot hit.
They're tied for 25th and runs scored this season.
And they were in last entering Tuesday before they score 15.
So maybe they got them going, but I'm going with the overall numbers and taking the under here.
Triple starts getting a little riskier.
to get three plus total bases against the Blue Jays on Thursday.
Jaron is nine for 18 against Jose Berrios with three home runs and he's started to
click that I really like that triple.
I really like that triple.
Bring us home.
You're always been a triples guy.
For the home run, a four game sweep is what I'm looking at.
The tigers go on the road.
They go into Anaheim and sweep the angels in a four game set this weekend.
Angels have been reeling, lost 12 for the last 16 games.
They've been outscored 82 to 38 in that span.
So look for the Tigers to stay hot and take advantage of the reeling angels.
And we've gotten two of our home runs this year.
So let's, uh, the juicy ones are coming through.
Uh, make sure you guys come through with the Drafking sports book.
Code J.M. Baseball, new customers, $5 will get you $250 in free.
Bet's, wow, we had Jimmy, we had Jolly.
We've got the all-J-M teams for April.
You're going to let us know what we missed, what we got wrong,
and make sure you guys get involved in the fan vote.
And you can help someone still get that Daisy.
Still get that.
That was a big one, Pop.
I think.
Big sucks.
Can we can tell you the story on the Friday app about,
Yeah.
My night at Dodger Stadium.
Can't wait.
Got a lot of fans coming up to me, Jake,
and it wasn't...
This was one night where I really didn't want it to happen.
Right.
Yeah.
Too popular, man.
Popular.
Popular.
