Rob Dibble out.
Trevor Plouffe in.
How you doing?
Jake, Beaver, everyone listening.
I'm doing great.
I love a Monday morning because we have all weekend to just sit around,
do what we want to do, watch some ball,
and then we recap on this show.
I don't know if anybody knows that,
but that's what we do.
We just talk about the baseball that's been played.
I'm a note guy again today.
I just want to let everyone know I've just been doing my homework.
That's not a blank piece of paper.
It looks like a blank piece of paper.
currently. You got to get the angles going, Trev. Come on.
Maybe it is a blank piece of paper. Maybe it's all just right here, people. Either way,
I got a lot of stuff going on. I feel very, very happy in my life right now, and I hope that's
coming across Jake. You look phenomenal this morning. I just want to say that. How was your
weekend? When I go denim jacket, people notice.
It's what's what's the bottoms?
Oh, so you wouldn't like that.
It's a tops only outfit today.
Know what today?
It's a fun.
Don't be khaki.
It's funky weather.
No, no, no.
They're joggers.
They're not great with the fit.
Here's what I'll say.
I looked at the weather for, for me, it's a weather times laundry outlook for the week.
And today's weather was a tough one.
It was like 54 when I was leaving, but it's going to.
to be 71.
So I needed some flexibility.
I needed a layer.
So that's where the denim jacket came in.
And then the rest of the week's a little warmer.
So this was kind of a pair of joggers that don't match anything.
And then the denim jacket as a bonus.
Enough of this, because one of the best hitters in baseball got traded.
I've got my notes here on it.
Trev Luis Arise.
There really are notes here.
who, when we started crunching the numbers on it
with the Marlins bad start, this guy was going to get traded.
And he's a guy that has been traded
because, A, there's some positional stuff there
that if you're building your team,
you might need some flexibility.
The Padres, I thought it was going to be Toronto
because they've been looking for a lefty bat at the top of their lineup,
and I thought they could use a jolt.
The San Diego Padres,
who are never scared of an infield.
They've been looking for a lefty of their own.
They are always looking to make the trade.
Preller hive raise up.
And they get Louisa Rise and cash might need BPD to look into the quantity there.
They paid it down to the league minimum.
Wow.
And that got them.
And again, you know, if you've got kids listening, cover your ears.
Dylan Head, prospect.
Woo-suck Go.
Hello.
Jacob Marcy and Nathan Martarela
And you know who traded for those guys?
Who's that?
Peter Bendix.
Yeah, I mean, this is, have we ruined baseball?
Next topic, as John Boy Media talking baseball, ruined baseball.
Fish got those guys?
That's just good baseball right there.
Dillon Head becomes the number six.
The number five,
prospect for the Marlins,
Marisi, number 10,
Maritorella, number 11.
So basically what we have here is a
grab bag of prospects,
and we see teams do this.
It's usually, hey, you either get a handful of guys
and baseball's kind of a lottery,
or you put your eggs in one guy's basket,
and you're really hoping they click.
And where it gets interesting,
and we do this when we do all JM, Trev, is arise.
he really needs to be hitting for him to be considered an all-around valuable player,
because on the defensive side of the ball or the DH spot,
he's not going to add value there.
That being said, he won the batting title last year.
His first Padres game, he goes for four hits.
That's a Padres record.
So what is your analysis the moment the trade happened,
and if anything's changed since?
I think if you look at the Pogers lineup, they have a guy,
they have guys in the middle that can drive runners in and,
and hit Homer.
So what do you want to put in front of those guys?
The guy that can get on base, it causes havoc and, you know,
the bat to ball skills are second to none with the rise.
I think that's what they're seeing is let's just get a rise on
and see if somebody can drive him in.
As far as like the positional thing,
I'd love to speak to Ryan Cohen and get his take on this.
I don't know exactly know where he's going to fit defensive.
Obviously, he'll D.H in a lot of days and then kind of fill in where he ever,
where he needs to in the infield.
He can play first, like, you can play second a little bit.
I don't know if, I don't know exactly know what the podgers are going to do defensively with him,
but he has versatility, just like every single player on that roster.
I mean, they have a bunch of infielder just playing all over the place.
I mean, the outfield is a bunch of infielders, but it's a really good outfield now.
So a rise kind of fits in that mode
Like, you know, first game, I believe he had four hits for them
Against the dimebacks this week.
Like he just goes, puts the battle ball, gets on base.
Not the fastest guy.
But when you have guys that can drive them in via the extra base hit in a long ball,
I mean, it's another win now move for the Padres essentially.
I mean, you go out and get Dylan Cs, win now.
You go out and get Luis Rice, win now.
and you give up some prospects and freaking foolish baseball saying that Peter Bendix is cooking.
But, you know, the Marlins, the Marlins are in a weird state right now.
And I mean, I don't mind them making this move at all.
Like the start that they had, the organization as it stands right now, I mean, you need to go out and get pieces for the guys that you have on your team.
We kind of knew this was coming a little bit sooner than we would have thought.
thought, it's May, it happened in May, the beginning of May, very beginning of May. So,
I can't, I can't tell if I, like, am giving kudos to Bendix to just, for just ripping the
band-aid off, or I'm like, what do you do, man, it's only May? That's kind of where I'm at
with this whole thing. Like, was it good, or did we give up on the season two early? I kind of lean,
good job recognizing where you are at as a franchise. Yeah, we, it's an interesting
debate because Luis Arise can his value really go up?
I don't know.
I don't think the defensive wand is going to kick in overnight.
He DHs his first game.
He played second base in his second game.
So I'm interested to see.
I think Padres fans are too.
Are they going to almost use a rise as a potential rest day for Croninworth,
Bogarts, and different guys in the infield?
These things sometimes find a way to sort themselves out.
I was laughing on all JM.
It just came up as a topic.
Like, does he have value as a DH?
Jim kind of said, no, you need power there.
I think on the right team, if it's a fit, it's a fit.
And Louisa Rises on the team to hit.
So if he hits, everything else is going to figure itself out.
Yeah, Padres fans, Preller, their whole offseason felt bizarre.
It's like, wait, they traded,
Juan Soto and they need to shed money.
Now, I mean, they trade for Dylan Cease and Louisa Rice.
That's a pretty impressive haul.
As a Padres fan, you've got to love that.
Their offensive numbers look great.
Their pitching numbers, surprisingly, middle, a little more middle of the pack to bottom
of the pack.
Second and run scored after this weekend.
Yeah, for the Marlins and Bendix.
Okay.
I don't know.
I don't, like.
If you had held on longer, are there other packages that would, quote, unquote, arise?
I don't know.
You'd like to think so?
Like, teams get more desperate around the deadline?
Did the Padres really throw in another prospect for another two months of baseball?
Maybe.
That's the stuff I don't know about GMing that I would love to know.
But if they pulled the trigger, you'd like to think it's a package that they really liked.
and hopefully in a couple years
we're talking about the Marlins
with two guys in their lineup
from the Arise trade,
but that's tough and doesn't happen a lot.
I mean, I'm not going to sit here and lie to the people
and say I know anything about these prospects.
Okay.
But I will say this.
Like, it would seem to me
if the Marlins are paying down Luis Arise
all the way down to the league minimum,
you know, that's a way for them to get a better,
package of prospects.
Yeah.
We've been seeing this happen quite often now in the big leagues.
You know, okay, we'll pay the money down.
Essentially buying a better prospect package.
I mean, we applaud.
I don't hate it.
We applauded the Mets for doing that.
Right.
So I guess maybe some kudos to Bendix or the Marlins' ownership, but I don't know.
And hey, I guess maybe more importantly for,
for your guy's favorite team.
A, you could be mad if you're like,
well, it's just a bunch of middle prospects
to get Luis a rise.
We needed him.
So you could be mad about that.
Or, you know, the Marlins are going to be purged this year.
I know if you're looking for relief pitching,
maybe some starting pitching,
that's always been rumored.
Some other guys in the lineup.
I guess you wonder how deep the actual pillage of this roster
goes because
I don't know
I'm literally not doing this as clickbait
I made a joke in our talking baseball group chat
but let's say jazz chisholm gets off to
a hot start and
God you've got years of control at the deadline
and you know we've talked about
some borderline controversial stuff with him
but hey
I was daydreaming about
you know if he goes to the wrong environment
what does that look like?
What if he goes to the right environment?
Like, you know, he's kind of the Marlins team leader,
and I don't know if he's the guy for that.
Maybe he is, maybe he isn't.
He's very young.
But what if he went to an organization,
you know, one of these well-respected organizations
that has a ton of leadership,
and it all comes together there?
I don't know.
You could start daydreaming of stuff like that,
that it'll be interesting to see what the Marlins do the rest of the way.
That might be the best thing for Jazz Chis,
would be to go somewhere with
a veteran-laden team
but guys that maybe
like him a little bit better
or treat him a little bit better
because clearly we know he doesn't like hearing it
from certain guys throughout the league
I wouldn't ship him off to the Dodgers
if I was, you know,
I wouldn't want to go to the Dodgers
if I was jazz.
There's some beef there.
But I could see that.
I could see them going somewhere
and learning from someone he
I guess respects a little bit more
would probably be very beneficial
for jazz chips.
I don't know.
It's, uh, I think it's just a fun exercises.
He's, I think he started playing a little better recently that, um, I don't know.
If you were, uh, you said a decent start to the year.
If you were one of the big boy baseball teams and you could get jazz at almost a discount
to take a chance on his talent, I don't know.
That's, uh, sorry to Marlins fans.
I will say this about a rise in DH.
I understand like overall, you know, your DH spot.
should have some slug in it and Rise doesn't really offer that.
But like you said, like in the right situation,
like say he's batting at the top of the lineup and he's getting on base at,
you know,
a 380 clip.
I think that's where you find value for the Padres is let's get this guy on base,
let our guys drive him in.
I mean,
then the value comes in,
you know,
through the on base percentage there.
Like, look,
the hits are nice.
If he slugs, great,
probably won't.
I mean,
in his career,
he slugged 410
that's right around league average
I think
wait he slugged 420
which is right around league average
but he's got on a base of 380 clip
that's what the podger's looking out
they have one more year of control on him
he's a free agent in 2026
and who knows
maybe they'll deal him
at the deadline
just keep
keep on flipping
right I mean look the twins got
Pablo Lopez
for a rise
And then it seems like all the nerds love, especially Foolish Bailey, that fucking nerd.
I do like him, though.
He's a freaking nerd, but I like him.
Hey, I had some AP classes too.
Yeah, Bailey, respect me.
People love the hall that the Marlins got.
So it was a ride is just going to be the gift that keeps on giving.
I like that.
And yeah, just, you know, go look at that fish roster, Josh Bell, some of the pitching, Tanner
Scott on the back end.
so they'll be a storyline this season for reasons
Marlins fans probably didn't want.
But that's that.
Playoffs last year.
I know.
I know.
That's, yeah, I saw one fan base talking junk
that kind of shouldn't have been.
I forget who it was, but Marlins,
I'm ruling them out of contention this year.
I'll do it.
Are they a second team like they're dead?
I just got so nervous for how horny Chris Rose is going to be to talk about this on baseball today.
He has to be drooling.
Yeah, I mean, the questions today are ridiculous.
Oh, my God.
That's electric.
Hey, let's get into the normal program.
Maybe a couple series we don't dive as deep in.
But there's a lot of good ball.
And Trev, you know we start with the American League because it's Monday.
And I guess we'll start with maybe the best team in the American League.
I guess it's the New York Yankees.
They swept the Detroit Tigers after getting knocked around by the birds a little bit.
The Yankees bounce back.
They get a couple off scoble yesterday before he locked in.
12Ks, yo.
But Aaron Judge Homer, Nestor look good.
Rizzo has a big series.
Giancarlo Stanton?
How about the Yankees, Trevor?
It's not always pretty, but they're winning ball games.
We will take that.
Speaking of, the Texas Rangers take two out of three from the Royals.
Royals busted the first game open on a nice Brady Singer start with, I think, a six-run inning.
That'll do it for you.
Big Salvi.
God, I love him.
But Texas responds with a 15 spot.
And then they put up a picket fence in the final three innings to come back and win.
it in 10 innings on the final day with a nice John Gray start.
Go watch the clip of the Salvi Homer.
It's just something beautiful about it.
When everyone wants to see one guy Homer and he does to win the game.
Nice.
Speaking of nice, the Minnesota Twins Trev.
They win the series.
They win 12 straight.
Unfortunately, they finally lose a ball game.
But not after outlasting Tanner Haukes, Chris Paddock shoves.
You mentioned Pablo.
and did Julianne?
Max Kepler, the big German.
But Raphaelah for the Sox on the last day.
Swings a heavy bat, Trev.
That's my scouting report.
And Raphael Devers goes big fly as the Red Sox break up.
The Twins win streak, and they get on the board.
The Mariners, they take two out of three from Houston.
Houston, they won that first game.
This is a big series for them.
Tuva Yorda.
Logan Gilbert drops it yet again.
Eight-inning shut to win that second game.
And then Houston, they rally to take the lead against Seattle.
But Seattle, they come back from the comeback.
Rojas, you might hear more about him later.
Cal Rally.
Oh, no, Houston.
They need to start winning.
They didn't get it done this series.
The Cleveland Guard Dogs have got it done pretty much all year,
and it remains that way as they take the final two games against the halos
after Soriano shoves, Shanual Moniac Homer in the first.
But then it's your boy, Be Lively, and the Naylor Bros.
Getting it done, Jose Ramirez breaking up his rough stretch.
Cleveland takes two out of three.
Is this the start for Tampa?
They sweep the Mets, a couple just absolutely chaotic games.
Randy saves them from the death.
in the final one.
In extras, they sneak one past Harry Bader.
They were on national TV in that second game.
Sacking games, Christian Scott, Zach Lattel?
Sure, why not?
Mets get swept by the race.
And then Miami, they lose two out of three to those hot, hot, hot.
Oakland A's, the first game, 3-1.
J.P. Sears drops it on him.
Brett Rooker homers.
The A's put up a 20 burger in the second game.
Oh, God, everyone's homer.
And hi, Brett Harris.
Welcome to the show.
Rooker for two.
Languiliers.
But Miami shows a little pride in that last game.
Nick Gordon four hits,
Jazz Chisholm and Josh Bell with a couple as the Marlins win 12-3 on the final day.
And that's what happened in the American League.
Excellent job, Poppy.
It's a Monday.
We do ALs on Monday.
Everyone knows that.
You got some standings over there?
I do have some standings.
I'm standing on the standings right now.
In the AL East, those birds, we can't call them baby birds anymore.
It's called them the orange birds, Baltimore Orioles, 23 and 11 ahead of the New York Yankees, who are 23 and 13.
The Boston Red Sox, who lost a series to my twins.
19 and 16, the Tampa Bay race sweep to get back to 17 and 18 in Toronto.
16 and 19 at the bottom of the AL East.
In the central Cleveland, 22 and 12, man.
They just win. They just win games.
Minnesota with that 12 game winning streak all the way back up
in the second place in the division, 19 and 14.
The Royals tied with them at 20 and 15.
Detroit at 18 and 16.
And then Chicago, those white socks are 8 and 26,
although they won a series too.
Sheesh
Seattle in the west
With that win of the series
Against Houston
They remain atop
The AOS 19 and 15
Texas right behind them 19 and 16
Oakland
17 and 18
And then can you believe
The Astros and the Angels
Are tied at the bottom of the West
At 12 and 22
Holy
Holy

I mean,
those commercials would be electric.
You and me out there kind of like,
what was that,
what was that ad on,
or what was that thing on Twitter this weekend?
The pizza ad,
do and do not.
Did you see that,
I don't think I said,
we might have to get that on the screen.
I'll see if I can find it.
That's in a talking baseball chat.
It's pretty good.
Yeah, it got sent this weekend.
It's like,
it's how,
It's how to dress as a pizza delivery driver.
Oh.
And I'm like the good version and Trev's the bat.
It's kind of unreal.
It's a little shocking.
It really is you and I in an alternate simulation.
I mean, don't get us going on the simulation.
Let me ask you this.
Do you think just like in all of the simulations we work together, just in different...
Every simulation we find a way to each other?
I mean, that's incredible.
I love
Pissy, resilient
Pizza Place Treff
I don't like that guy at all
That guy's
That guy is such a turd
And I'm such the other guy
I do not like this simulation's trap
Right there
Go uh if you don't watch on YouTube
This is kind of worth checking out
It's bizarre
Unclean fingernails
I would be never
I mean this
Honestly this would be so brutal for me
if I was the not acceptable one
because that picture would be so bad
and I'm just not acceptable a lot of the time.
Get that out of my face.
Trev in the American League,
hey, high and tight on your twins.
The 12-game win streak comes to a close.
Man, they're getting talked about on SportsCenter.
People are talking about 1991
where the twins went from worse to first
and it's the last time they went to the World Series.
So what do you have with them in the Sox?
I mean, it was a great run for the twins.
And, you know, I think a lot of people are pointing to,
okay, you play Chicago twice, you play the Angels twice.
But, you know, Boston comes into town with the best starting pitching in all the baseball.
You know, they're a very good baseball team, 1916 on the year.
And, you know, the first two games, they just kind of took care of business.
Jeffers broke it open.
Paddock had a really good start.
He was kind of, like, in his feelings a little bit on the mound.
He's a very emotional guy.
But he just wanted to blow fastballs by guys.
I don't have his pitch mix up with me.
I guess I should have done that.
But it seemed to me like he was going to that pitch more than ever.
He's been throwing a lot of these changeups as of late.
But he wanted to just blow up by guys.
And he was throwing pretty hard.
He was getting it up there to 96.
Look, the twins look good.
They lose Buxton, which is tough.
But you get Correa and Duram back.
I think Brock Stewart went on the I else.
It kind of like traded.
players, like they're not fully healthy yet.
Like to be where they're at right now,
to go on that run and get back, you know, to 19 and 14,
and they still, they haven't played,
they played two innings as a fully healthy team.
Like they need to get these guys bad.
Justin Topa hasn't even showed up in the bullpen.
But the bullpen's going to be, you know,
one of the biggest strong suits for them this entire year as they get healthy.
I don't know.
I'm happy with where they're at.
Like, again, like the offense has kind of showed up.
Jeffers has been incredible.
incredible for them. He's like kind of hitting at the top of the lineup on against lefties,
which has been awesome. They look good, man. They look good. They have to keep it up. Red Sox also,
I mean, they're a very good baseball team. Like I think they've, they've shocked baseball maybe more
than any other team in the big leagues with the way they've thrown the ball. I think the lineup is
could use some help, but on any given day they can pop you for a bunch of a bunch of runs. So
they're going to be in the mix.
But twins, 12 in a row, that's not easy to do.
It doesn't matter what kind of competition you're facing.
And yeah, they just got to keep it going.
Yeah, the Sox lineup does look a little funky right now,
but I mean, no Kossis, obviously no story.
Yoshita went to the aisle.
Von Grissom is back.
So let's see what he's got.
Currently, Tom Smith and Garrett Cooper is their first base in TH.
Nobody had that.
Yeah, I mean, they've dealt with more.
more injuries than any team.
And they, again, I think they're probably one of the most surprising teams with what they
had to deal with.
And then they're starting pitching kind of like, I don't want to say out of nowhere, but
kind of out of nowhere.
Yeah.
Oh, very much so.
And Povetta's coming off the aisle.
So, hey, let's see what's next for the socks and your Twinkies as they come off the
win streak.
Trev, I'll just check this box quick with my yanks.
They swept the tigers.
Like I said, on the way through, they haven't been necessarily pretty.
all the time.
They were getting shut out into the ninth inning in the first game.
And then they put four straight hits together against Foley, the closer,
and they win that game on Friday night.
Again, they get a couple off scoble early,
and then they get absolutely shut down,
and he found it and got gross.
But against the bullpen, Juan Soto,
base is clearing three RBI doubles.
so they handle their business.
Every time that, like, they just lost an Orioles series,
three out of four,
who I, Orioles fans, you have a right to be mad.
I said Yankees' best team in the AL.
Orioles have that not as of now.
But every time the Yankees have needed to respond
and answer, they've done it so far.
And, you know, Judge hasn't fully clicked.
And, you know, he had a big series.
Is that going to start it?
That Yankee fans are feeling good.
There's still room for growth, but it's in areas that you should expect that.
So we're feeling good over here.
And Rizzo had a great series, and that's big for you guys, lengthening the lineup like that.
Yeah, they've got some interesting lineup stuff going on.
They moved Volpe up, and he's struggled in the lead-off spot.
So again, there's a lot of molding to be done.
You know, Dominguez rumors.
Will DJ ever get healthy?
We'll see.
Tigers, I think they can pocket that series and put that in their rear view.
The other things across the American League, I mean, if we're being honest, one of the biggest
stories that I still think everyone is scared to talk about, the Houston Astros.
They lose two out of three at home, and this was a winnable last game.
They come back after being down against Bryce Miller, but then Seattle fights back,
and Cal Raleigh clips them, and Hayter gets the last.
loss and I don't know Trev.
It's a familiar story for the Astros.
I mean, you have your good bullpen in there and they give up homers.
Now, it wasn't a safe situation.
It was a tie game for Hader there in the ninth and the top of the ninth and rally pumps
him.
But you're right.
I mean, they win the first game.
Like a back and fourth game.
Al Tuvae lays the bunt down first and third to go ahead.
Kudos, 300 stolen bases for Al-Tube.
And this guy's a Hall of Famer.
Like, just everyone's stop.
He's a Hall of Fame.
Like one of the best players we've seen in our day.
generation. He's going to go down. I mean, shoot, who knows what the Astros ever make the playoffs again?
Just kidding. Just kidding. But he's going to go down as one of the best postseason players of all time.
Yeah. Love that for them. But yeah, the Mariners took care of business, man. I mean, look, they have that
pitching staff. Logan Gilbert, eight innings pitch, no Ernie's, goes up against Framber,
Kyle Raleigh, big dumper, just kind of doing it all series. I mean, again, I just think that
Your offense hasn't shown up enough if you're Houston.
The back end of your bullpen hasn't been great for you.
Shout out to Hader for saying, hey, I'll finally throw more than one inning.
And if need be, I'll go four or five out save, do it.
But yeah, it's just kind of like a familiar story for them.
We keep thinking they're going to break out.
You get the first game against Houston.
Like you said, these are winnable games, but they're just, in years past,
they would just get there, whether, you know, their offense goes off or the bullpenes lights out
and they just kind of creep back into the game. That's just not happening for them this year.
Logan Gilbert, the most innings pitch for a starter with seven starts.
Nestor and Glassnow are the only two people ahead of them, but they both have eight starts.
So that's massive when we talk about bullpens and rotations and the inning hunt that goes on throughout baseball.
and I don't know, Kirby kind of gets a little more shine than him.
Bryce Miller and that death splitter or whatever he's throwing.
They're all so good.
I mean, that's a great, great rotation.
We got a shout out of our guy, John Singleton, massive homer there in the last game to,
they gave him the lead.
Yeah.
And then they blew it.
I mean, he's starting for them, which is awesome and a really cool story,
but everything else around Houston has been kind of tough.
11-22, Pop.
Seattle, you're going to hear a little more about yourself later.
good times in Seattle
the beautiful
first in the AO West
and they haven't even played that good a ball Jake
Right right
Like there's much room for improvement on this team
You can glass half full that
Glass half empty that a little bit
As the A's are lurking
Trev
You know
Some of these teams are going to get a little offended
Rays
Rees get a sweep
They hadn't gone a sweep
Or even back-to-back win
since early April and some crazy games down there in the Trap first, the Metropolitan's.
Your guy Johnny DeLuca with the walkoff.
But it's a massive sweep for them.
First of all, they debut the Guy Fieri inspired City Connects.
I mean.
Tampa skateboarding, man.
Like, I love them, but like, what does that have to do with Tampa at all?
I'm sure they've explained it a little bit.
Like, why is their flames?
Why is it glow in the dark?
What is going on?
That's Ray's baseball.
Bebers, can you look up like an explanation of, like,
because most of these city connects have something to do with, like,
the founding of the city, you know, the origin of the city.
I don't know if Tampa has that history necessarily,
so they just went Guy Fieri mode on it.
Yeah, skateboard P, whatever it is.
The letters themselves have this skateboard grip texture
and a logo similar to Thrashers magazine
an influential skateboard magazine founded in 1981.
Out of Tampa?
It doesn't say the words out of Tampa.
I'm really...
I'm really...
The cap logo is a combination of a ray
and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
That one's fine.
I think I noticed some bridge stuff.
Rays focused on different cultures and stories
of Tampa Bay and their logo.
Okay, we just went rogue on the city connects.
I'm fine.
with that. They thought skateboards are cool.
They are cool. And they are cool. They are cool. I mean, look,
they were huge in the first game. The Mets kind of rallied back. They ended up closing it out
in the first game. And then it was, you mentioned Scott in the tail with really, really good
starts. And then in the eighth inning, the Mets kind of just lose it. Their bullpen loses. They
walked in two runs, which is like just a dagger to your team. Raised win that one.
and then 3-2, two-out,
freaking Edwin Diaz versus a Rosarena,
and he pumps him.
Yeah.
In the city connects.
I mean, what do you expect from the race?
My freaking New Year's Eve day, Johnny DeLuca, walks it off.
And he hit that ball to center field, and he's like,
please get down, please get down, please get down.
He got down.
Bader took an aggressive angle at it.
If he can't get there, you got to think not a lot of guys can get there.
Good on the raise.
Let's see if that's...
A massive sweep for them.
Yeah, let's see if that can spark their season
because, again, some of the numbers
and, like, the Ray's bullpen not working,
and Randy, contract here, like, root for Randy,
and it's been a really tough go for him so far.
It can't be that the Houston Astros
and the Tampa Bay Rays are all of a sudden bad.
It can't be both of them, right?
Well, let's see what we're saying in a couple days.
The Rays are playing the White Sox.
which has been a lot of good medicine.
They're hot for your twins,
and that could get them above 500,
and then you're looking at the raise,
and then I'm not counting my raise over on the year as a lost bet.
The Ray's vice president of Creative said that the city connects are meant to emphasize grit and glow.
The grit comes from the willingness to do things differently as an organization,
and the glow is focused on the vibrance of Tampa Bay,
and its counterculture scenes.
Stop it.
Tampa has a counterculture scene?
Which includes skate, street art,
streetwear, tattoo, and music.
Nobody else has those things.
Tampa, is Tampa changed?
I like, look, I like the jerseys.
Treve!
That's basically, I'm in your city.
I'm paying on the jerseys.
You built, your fingerprints are all over that city.
Hey, I think, you know what, Kevin Cash, I believe?
did something.
I think he became the...
Most wins.
Most wins in Ray's history.
The boys were hyped for him.
Shout out cash.
Who just lets anything happen in that clubhouse?
Like, there's zero rules.
I like that.
That's why they have skateboarding.
Counterculture.
Not as feeling as sexy about my Mets
as I was a little bit ago.
Trev, the last of these series
and, you know, fan bases get
mad at us if we're being honest. No one wants to hear about Miami in Oakland, although the
boys bopped. Cleveland beats the Angels, a little bit of good team, bad team. Can't deep dive on
every team every week. And the Texas Rangers in Kansas City, again, some good ball there,
especially on that last day. Yeah, that's that series. I mean, you had the South three-run shot.
They scored, like you mentioned, six runs in the seventh. Brady Singer had a great start there.
The second game, the Rangers, absolutely rolled, went off.
And then early settler, Nate Lowe, with the go-ahead single in the 10th.
And that was the Rangers first lead of the game.
So you got to love that.
That's a way to snatch a series and take that.
Royals have been playing some pretty good baseball.
Angels Cleveland.
I don't have much on that.
Ramirez was 0-4-19.
In that last game, hit Homer in the bottom of the sixth to give him the lead.
And the Nailer, both Nailers hit homers.
Bo Nailer with the Grand Slam in game two,
and then Josh Nailer kind of extended the lead there,
make it 4-1 in game three,
and Cleveland again,
lose game one and just finds ways to win series, man.
Stephen Kwan on the IL, that's tough for them.
But like,
I don't know when we're going to stop saying this,
but it's just the truth.
They're finding different ways to win games,
and that's just Guardians baseball, baby.
Guard dogs.
Does Cleveland have a city?
I don't think they do
I don't know
I don't think so
there might be coming soon
change names we just
Detroit's Motor City just got released
did it really I didn't see it
yeah how they look
I didn't love it it it was
it's like kind of NASCAR
like oh I kind of like that
what do you mean how could you not work that I don't know
somebody
replied to the talking baseball tweet
it could have been Chelsea
said like this is like if Great Britain tried with their uniform a little more.
It's like a little basic, but...
I wasn't fine.
Didn't it fully move the needle for me?
It...
And it looks like Cleveland's is coming later this year.
Okay.
Yeah.
The font is just not there.
Let's play up like the NASCAR or the car theme.
This is just regular old lettering?
I didn't love it.
I'd have definitely done some, like, some, like, checker piping.
I felt like they were on a path to something, and then they kind of pulled back.
They had a free theme.
Let it eat.
Speaking of let it eat.
Maybe my favorite partners, I try not to be biased, but it's Tommy John, people.

I wear Tommy John every day.
This read ends on YouTube with me showing my underpants to the audience.
Because I made the switch.
You guys already know if you listen to the show regularly.
If you don't, this is not a joke.
I wear Tommy John every day.
It was like an adult move by me.
I was like, this is my favorite underwear.
I want to like my underwear every day.
I'm switching to Tommy John.
Tommy John heard that.
They got involved with us.

I have a couple of things here.
Number one, Tommy John, you need to get on with all the guys that are having Tommy John surgeries
and just be like the official like rehabilitation underwear of Major League Baseball.
You're welcome for that.
There's a big, I mean, what an ad that is.
Pulled up a little more.
Yeah.
Like that one.
Also, the Detroit Tigers have a VIN number on the side of their hats.
It's all the championship years put together.
Like, we're going a little too far.
here.
Yeah, those either, like, really hit or they don't.
Like, remember when it came out that Texas's whole stadium meant something,
like is Beltray's number down the line, and it was, you know, Josh Hamilton's
tongue was here or something.
I don't know.
When it kind of hits, it does.
Motor City, hey, they went for something.
Tigers fans, you don't hold.
That's what's important.
Dodgers by far have the worst city connect jerseys.
in all of the game.
Okay.
It's blue and just says Los Dodgers, not into it.
Let's talk, the Dodgers playing the National League.
I segue to you.
It's perfect.
Let's do it.
And Trev, the National League starts with the first place,
Philadelphia Phillies,
who have currently taken all three games against the San Francisco Giants.
They are doing a recent.
round series that finishes Monday, but they were the Sunday night baseball game. You might
have saw Bryce Hopper take Logan Webb up top. Giants fought back a little bit, but it was not
enough. And in those early games, man, Alec Bome continues to be everywhere. Trey Turner was,
he gets hurt. That's a bit of a storyline over there. It hasn't affected them yet because
Ranger Suarez continues to shove. Phillies, they fight off Tyro Estrada. They fight off Tyro
The giant, bad time to be a giant's catcher.
They are just getting beat up, although the kid gets called up in homers.
That was fun.
But not fun enough to win.
The Phillies are winning ball games.
The reason they're in first place, the Dodgers sweep the Braves.
Ooh, baby.
Andy Pahey's with the walk-off four-hit day.
Where does he rank in your Dodgers lineup?
It might start flying up because he's only been hitting.
They win that game.
Shohei goes with four hits and two homers in the last game.
Reminder, he can pitch.
And on the other day, Glass now shoved, and they put up 11 runs.
The Dodgers are clicking Braves.
Slowed down a little bit, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
Talk about that.
They teed it up the top two teams in the NL Central and the Cuppies.
Take two out of three.
The Brewers won that first game.
Joe Ross, the boss with six innings, one earned run in the one.
Willys both had hits, RBIs, and steals.
That's cute.
But Jameson Tayaone shuts them down.
Javier Assad shuts them down.
And the Cubbies, your guy Patrick Wisdom, your doppelganger with a homer.
My baseball doppelgamer, Nico Horner, two for four with a homer.
Cubbies, get it done, man.
And they take two out of four in the top of that NL Central.
More of a bar show guy.
Boogity, boogety, boogie-y-boogie.
boogity. Padres, you heard who they got in their lineup now. They also took two out of three.
And Dylan sees shoves. They put up a seven spot behind Fernando and Machado in the first game.
Michael King, the big piece in that Soto trade with six shut. And ProFar and a rise combined for
seven hits. That'll do it. Snakes, they've been doing this, man. They win one game big,
but they don't win the series.
McCarthy goes off.
Christian Walker, Marte and Peterson.
Snakes, got to start winning series.
Pirates, they needed a series win
and they get it against the Rockies,
although they had to fight for it.
Jack Swinsky with the walk-off in that middle game
behind Jared Jones dropping it on him.
O'Neill Cruz, Brian Reynolds,
and Big Rowdy Telez.
Get it done in the last game.
Calquantrell absolutely shoved
and Ryan McMahon went in the drink in the first game.
But Rockies, they could have won a lot of these games, and they did not.
Speaking of the Baltimore Orioles, they are the number one team in the AL right now,
and they give it to my reds.
They sweep them.
Cole Irvin just has decided to stop giving up runs.
20.2 innings pitch.
No runs allowed.
Craig Kimball strikes out the side to get that one done.
John, what do you means?
He's back, Treb.
He goes seven innings zero earn runs with a three hit day from Dadley,
and then the Orioles put up an 11 spot.
Dean Kremmer shuts them down.
Santander, five RBIs, including some salami late.
The Toronto Blue Jays, they lose two out of three to the Nationals.
They split the first game.
Nats put up a big boy number.
Luis Garcia with the pinch hit home run in the first game.
Kevin Gossman shuts them down on the second day.
Kiermeier goes Yacker.
And then that third game, 11-8, Manoa's back, McKenzie Gore.
Good day to have the stick.
Jesse Winker, three RBI.
Luis Garcia, again, four RBI.
They take down the Nats, and then your Cardinals.
They lose two out of three to the White Sox, including an extra inning middle game.
And that's what happened in the National League.
excellent job pop excellent job here you have standings by per chance i did but then i went on andy pahease's
page and just checking him out he's a stud 900 o pups okay in the east the philadelphia phillies have
jumped the atlanta braves they are 24 and 11 Atlanta sits at 20 and 12 two and a half games behind
them the nationals are 17 and 17 playing five
ball above the 16 and 18 Mets and the 10 and 26 Miami Marlins.
They have waved the white flag.
In the central, two teams who faced off against each other are at the top.
Milwaukee, 20 and 13.
The Cubs 21 and 14.
Cincinnati right behind them, 16 and 18.
The Pirates, 16 and 19.
And the Cardinals, 15 and 19.
In the west, the Dodgers are.
I mean, they look like the best team in baseball right now.
23 and 13.
The Padres, they're the only team above 500 in that division.
The Padres behind them at 18 and 19.
The Diamondbacks are 15 and 20.
The Giants are 15 and 20.
And then Kelsey Wingerts rocks at 8 and 26.
And those are the standings in the National League.
Trevor, Trevor.
Let's start with the two teams,
kind of deem the two best teams in baseball
coming into the series season.
Dodgers, who also Walker Bueller,
pitching for them tonight against those Marlins.
Trev, they take care of the Braves,
and they, a little spoiler,
I'm talking about Otani later
because you need to talk about that guy.
Gavin Stone, warehouse adjacent,
he, you know, top 50 prospect looks like he's blossoming.
They get it done against Max Frieder,
on the last day.
I think this is more so
Dodgers clicking.
Like, you know, there's a little bit
we were talking about the second half of their lineup,
not going.
Muncie, three homer day.
Didn't get mentioned in the burn.
Trump hands kind of came out for me.
Go taste your Dodgers
a little bit.
They lead the big leagues
in OPS and slugging in on base
percentage. They're getting Walker Bueller back.
I mean, that first game,
Stone's pitching,
Riley hits a Homer in the first inning.
We're like, okay, are those guys,
the Braves Big Three, Riley, Acuna, Olson,
are they going to get it going?
It sure seems like they're going to.
It'd been their first homer in 48 innings, Jake.
Like, that doesn't sound like the Atlanta Braves to me.
Acuna with the big homer, ties at 2-2 in the first,
and then you're going to mention Shohei,
he gets a single to tie in the 10th.
And then our guy, Andy Pice,
with the bloop knock to win it.
Mike Harris on that ball kind of look like he maybe should have dough for it.
It was one of those things.
I'm not really sure what happened if you just got a bad read on it
because sometimes those bloopers at you are difficult to read.
So you steal one in game one.
And then it's Glassnell and Muncie and then Otani.
If you don't win that first game,
there's a chance that you're going to get rolled
and I don't care who you are.
Dodgers lineup has been that good.
I think I want to just sit here and talk about Otani,
but I don't want to steal him from you.
He's incredible.
Yes.
Like, it doesn't matter who's a great point.
Thank you.
It doesn't matter who is on the mound.
That guy's better.
It's, it's, I think that's been the most shocking thing to me
over the last couple years is realizing just how good
of a hitter he is.
I have commentary.
I'm going to save it.
But yeah, him and Mooky bets just in a constant, like,
they should redo that commercial.
Anything you can do, I can do better.
I love Mooky, but no, no, that's not the truth.
Offensively, yes.
And arguably, I tend to argue that Freddie's a better natural hitter than both.
So just what the Dodgers need, Andy Paez, breaking out.
I don't know.
Offense sputtering, it's the Dodgers.
I think you back pocket it.
They've got a couple off days coming up,
get things back in order.
You wonder how much, I don't know,
when things like this happen, you start thinking things like,
Sean Murphy, is that a loss that's hurting them?
You know how I feel about a good catcher at the same time,
like, you know, it's darn no, and he was potential all JM.
So I think it's just a wrong time situation,
but I don't know.
Here's what I'll say about that series.
The Braves are about the only team I'll say this about.
Maybe the Orioles sneak in there,
but I don't think so.
I think the Braves are the only team I say it's about it.
It's a 50-50 shot who's going to win that series.
Every other team that goes up against the Dodgers,
I'm not giving you 50-50 odds.
So this is one series, it is what it is.
These two teams face off in the playoffs,
but I think most like just general baseball fans would love to see.
I mean, you have no idea how that series is going to go.
But right now the Dodgers look like the better team.
I don't know if I'm going to be able to say that, you know, in June or July,
because the Braves will be okay.
Trev, I think the other talking point that's attached to this,
Blake Trinan comes back for the Dodgers.
Watch out for him when he's right.
It doesn't get grosser.
Paxton with an awesome start.
But for me, I had an ass coming into the season,
and it was the Phillies to give the Braves a run during the regular season.
It seemed like they haven't cared about that.
And they, in a way, they don't care about anything.
Yet, they are on the opportunity to mop the Giants today.
They get the win on Sunday night baseball last night.
Taiwan Walker with a nice start,
when that had been kind of an interesting topic in Phillies land.
They do lose Trey Turner, which is going to hurt, but Edmundo Sosa is going to try to fill in for most of that.
And they can get funky with Stott and Whitmerfield if they want, but I think they're going to lean on Sosa,
or at least that's what they're saying.
The Philadelphia Phillies are out of the gate hot, and I feel like we haven't said that in the past.
Suarez is incredible.
Six weeks for Trey Turner can hurt, but if they can stay around the Braves, it's going to be a fun.
NLE summer.
Yeah, they've been playing great baseball.
I mean, the pitching has been incredible.
You're getting this streak by Alec Bowmer.
Now 18-game hitting streak.
I mean, San Francisco put up a fight in these games.
I mean, the first and the third games of the series,
they had their chances late in the game,
but the Philly's bullpen, you know, came through.
I believe in the first game, it was Alvarado.
Case Flores there, that was,
the tying run was on second base in that game.
So, you know, they had a chance.
rolls the second game and then at the end of
game three, Hoffman gets
really nasty. He shuts down a
rally. They win 5'4. You mentioned
the Harper Homer.
Philly's just playing
really, really good baseball on
both sides, offense and defense. The
Tray Turner thing does hurt.
Scoring from second
on a passball is awesome and then you see
him kind of just gingerly walking it off
and six weeks is a, that's a hammy
right? That's what it was. Yeah.
That's a big hammy. That's like a grade two.
hammy and for a guy that you know the speed is a massive part of his game it's it stinks so i love
watching trade turner play but the Phillies look great and again nothing you know the the giants are
treading water i will say like the offense hasn't really gone for them all year long i i was
pretty big on their lineup thinking hey there's not going to be a lot of like slumps in this lineup i
think there's a lot of good professional hitters i think we've seen that throughout the year
but like I said, they're just kind of, they're treading water right now.
They need to go on a run one way or the other,
and the way they're going right now, and the series is the other.
Yeah, I mean, they, their lineup works,
and you'll hear announcers talk about lineups,
and it's, you know, it's kind of a bad time when everyone gets hot
or everyone gets cold at the same time.
You kind of want three guys who are hot constantly,
and those guys switch out.
And San Francisco is going to need,
that and they need that from Solair.
They need that from Lee.
They need that from Chapman.
And right now,
the only guy that's real hot for them,
my young prince,
Tyro Estrada.
I think there's some underlying,
like hard hit data that says Lee's been really unlucky,
but you got a,
the results matter in this game.
He did have a great catch.
You saw that catch?
Yeah, dude.
He ran that thing down.
It looked like the weirdest route I've ever seen.
He was running adjacent to the ball.
It kind of looked like when Willie Mays Hayes in Major League, he comes to the tryouts and just like,
like it looked like Jung Luli started racing the ball for a little bit.
And then he was like, I got you.
It did look like he was racing the ball.
That's perfect.
It was a little bizarre.
But then he made another great catch.
There's a stud out there.
Last night.
So that's always funny to me that we do this like, wait, is he a center?
the field?
And it looks like he's come over and he's doing that.
I think they want a little more with the twig.
I put that out on my IG and my buddy J.P. Martinez,
the assistant pitching coach there hit me up.
He goes, you should have seen it live.
One of those things, man, you just see that and see him go and you see the ball and you're like,
okay, no way.
And then you see him just chase that thing down and just reach over to his left,
glove side.
That was sick.
25 years old, by the way, for John Hooli.
So, and 94 miles per hour from the arm, too.
So if he, if those hits start falling a little more,
what he can do in center field, that's a valuable ad.
That's a $100 million ad.
Trev, I think the last series I think I really want to dive into,
I think is Brewer's Cubs just because these two teams are going for first place.
And I think Craig Counsel's the difference.
We agree, and that's it.
Yeah, for sure.
Well, Murphy wasn't there, right?
isn't he serving his suspension?
This doesn't even count.
Yeah, he was the first game he was serving his second game of the suspension.
How many games does he get?
Two.
Okay.
So this doesn't even count.
Although the Brewers, okay, so they won the first game.
That was the only game they won.
So maybe suspend Pat Murphy.
Suspend Pat Murphy if you're a Brewers fan for sure.
Yeah, I mean the Cubs took care of business.
Horner and Morel Homer and then.
wisdom. They get up five nothing. He ends up six five. So the Brewers made a comeback there
in game two, but the Cubs hold. And then you mentioned Assad and his great start. And the
brewer's offense kind of just went to sleep that last game. That was a big series. I mean,
now they're sitting tied atop the NL Central. Many more, many more battles to come. I think this
is going to end up being one of the matchups that we watch throughout the season very closely.
as I think both these teams are probably
if I'm just thinking about it right now
and kind of projecting into the future
these are the two teams I think are going to be there at the end
like I put my money on these two teams
fighting for the NL Central at the end
and the Reds have been okay
Pittsburgh's kind of falling off
Cardinals can't seem to figure it out
they're kind of rudderless if you will
although we're going to talk about one of them
later in the show but I'd bank on these two teams
fighting at the end of the year for this division
Yeah, it's one of those, it's a little bit one of those moments where I've talked about it and I don't have a solution, but I want every team to play each other in baseball, but I do miss.
I mean, it used to feel like in division you were playing these teams twice a month or, you know, a lot.
And now with the new schedule, you know, you're missing that one and a half series a year that for these two teams, it would be fantastic.
but I guess I am ignoring the other side of, you know,
if you had to play whatever team is awful that year so many times.
It was also affecting division winners.
Like, you know, Ray's fans, when the Orioles were bad,
they won 18 and 1 or whatever.
That decided the division.
So I don't know.
That's me thinking out loud without a solution.
Yeah, I mentioned, you know, in the second game,
the Brewers, they scored four to get back in the game.
This is a great note by Dalton.
and have this note in my sheet,
the Brewers have brought the tying run to the plate
in the final ending of seven of their 12 losses.
Yeah.
That's got to make you feel great as a Brewers fan.
You're not always going to come through,
which I guess that stat means they didn't come through it
because they lost.
But having the chance at the end of the game
continuing to fight, that's a good sign for the Brewers.
And yet just this stood out to me,
who is, again, part of that Michael Bush trade with two scoreless innings in there.
And Cubs, you're actually going to get some more love in a little bit.
Brewers put it in your rear view.
Trev, of these remaining series, again, I hate to be rude to Orioles fans
because in a way I expect this, but it is against my Reds who drop under 500,
and they've had a bad case of the not hitting really lately.
while the Orioles are finding pitching and hitting everywhere, it seems.
I don't know.
I got a little on that one.
We can kind of move through these quickly.
O's and Sincy, I think, is a really fun series,
like young teams with, dude, how much testosterone is in the ballpark
when those two teams get together?
Aesthetically pleasing, I do like the red and orange.
That means that first play of this series,
I thought was really cool.
It's Hunter Green versus Gunner Henderson.
so Hunter and Gunner
you like that?
You like that.
You like that a little more than me, but I like that.
Okay.
Do you like when Gunner Henderson
hits one down the line
and tries to stretch it into two
but then gets thrown out?
I like that.
That's a great start to the series.
You got to love that if you're the Reds
and then it just didn't go well
from there.
Your offense was non-existent in this series.
You scored two runs in three games
and the Orioles really didn't need any offense.
They only scored five.
in the first two and then 11 in the last game.
Orioles are on a different level than the Reds.
I'll say that.
Orioles, yeah.
How about this?
You guys are getting a little bit of Braves Dodger fever
where you guys are so good.
Sometimes you're not going to get talked about a ton.
So that's, you know, we know we'll be seeing you later in the year.
Cincinnati, Trev, two of the injuries, T.J. Friedel and Matt McLean.
Yeah.
And when you look at the Reds stats right now as a team 30th in batting average, 26th in OPS,
which again, that's glass half full, glass half empty.
That should change.
But if that keeps going, I don't know.
I don't know.
They drop under 500.
The Cardinals are down there too.
Geez.
Yeah, Trev, I mean, Rockies, Pirates, I don't have a,
ton there. We talk San Diego a lot
via the trade. Shout out. Shout out
Jared Jones
continuing to do his thing. Seven in his pitch,
10-k's no walks.
And then that pirate
Jack Swinsky with the walk-off
pinch hits in the
second game.
Did they sweep?
No. Two out of three.
Two out of three. The other game I want to
talk about, I mean, just because of the situation
is the White Sox Cardinals.
Again, I think we're going to talk a little bit more
about the Cardinals later.
And what game was that?
I think this was Saturday.
The rain game.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, first of all, I'm going to give the White Sox
a little bit of love.
There's a guy I like on this team.
Okay.
Corey Lee.
Okay.
He's the catcher.
They got him from the Astros.
I believe it was the first round pick.
Top 100 prospect?
Sure.
I like him a lot
I think he's going to be a really, really good player
It just sucks that he's on the White Sox
Because they're
They're just in a spiral
As a franchise
So he ties the game with a six
In the six with a single, two-run single
Fan hits the RBI single
In the 10th, he's been good for them
As soon as he got there
That's exactly what the White Sox seemed to
So then
White Sox are trying to
Where am I out here?
Yeah, White Sox
Sox are trying to close the game out. Brebe is in there. It's raining. He's wanting to pitch in the
rain. He gets 0-1, two outs on Nolan Gorman, and then CB Buckner says, now we're going in a rain
delay. Three hours later, they come out, and it's Banks v. Herrera, and C.B. rings him up
on a change that's like six inches off of the plate. Can you imagine sticking around for three hours?
Okay, then we get completely new pitchers, obviously. We pinch hit because of the matchup,
and you work in at bat and then CBB's like, just, he's tired.
He wants to call.
Literally, C.B. Buckner was tired, so he ended a game with the bases loaded after a three-hour delay.
It's atrocious, man.
It's pathetic.
He got behind there and was like, I'm ringing you up.
I'm so ready for the appeals.
I'm in.
Like, I, you know, I was doing a little bit of like, you know, let's get more data.
No, I don't care.
I don't need data for that.
that's not a strike.
And when my voice raises like that,
I might have bet a little bit on that game.
And it wasn't the result I might have bet on that game.
Oh my God.
Did we talk Padres' Diamondbacks a little bit?
I mean, we talked a ton of Padres.
They won the series.
Mike King's the man.
I think the only other thing that needs to be noted again,
you pesky goddamn Nats.
Luis Garcia is awesome and bawling out.
Jesse Winker is awesome and balling out.
Hopefully Eddie Rosario's Homer gets him going.
and I mean the more important, or I think the bigger highlight was Alkmanoa
comes back to Major League Baseball, and that's exciting.
He does get touched up a little bit.
Four innings, six earn runs.
Tough.
First ball of the game, I think, is a Bichette error, which it's like, come on.
That's the last thing you want.
That's really funny.
Cacucci look really good in this series.
It's his fifth straight start pitching through the sixth inning,
which is Jake Elylytics.
You want your starter to go.
as deep as possible in the game.
And then yeah, Garcia hits the Homer,
and that's pulled away after.
Then Gossman has a great start.
Toronto scored four runs in the first there to back him.
That was nice.
And then, yeah, the Winker Rosario, Homer's late.
Winker with the hair?
How are we feeling about it?
Oh, I love it, dude.
He's doing everything right now.
What year is that when everyone had the wings out?
That was like, is that 2004?
God.
Oh, I know what you're going for.
Yeah, Josh Beckett.
I had this haircut.
I was in high school that year.
I had this haircut.
I was long hair and went like,
my bangs went like this on my forehead.
Like kind of swept on my forehead.
The long hair, the swoop.
Like Incubis was like going off at that point.
I don't know, man.
But Winker, I don't know.
I kind of like the hair.
Dude, he hit a homer started running towards first.
Like he was going to run in the head.
just stopped and planted for a little bit.
He's...
He cares right now?
He is enjoying it right now.
It's been a tough couple years for Winker.
The boys are bopping with the Nats,
and it's a team you just don't want to play them.
You do not want to play them.
Bieber, did I go over on that?
I think I went over on the Natch.
I hope I did.
I'll do a quick check.
Overchecking before we get to stand-out performances.
You and Jimmy were over.
Oh!
Yes.
didn't need to hear that.
But I did need to hear who
is Trevor Pluth standout?
There's kind of like some
similarities between this guy and I
although he's handled his adversity
a little bit better.
Last year, Josh Rojas
gets traded middle
of season for Paul Seawalt.
Josh goes up to Seattle, he's a third
baseman, he watches his
former team go all
the way to the World Series.
When I got designated for assignment against the twins,
the following year they made the playoffs,
and I was so happy for them.
You have no idea how happy I was to see that.
I wasn't that happy.
Anyways, on Sunday,
he went three for four with a double,
a triple, an RBI,
a walk, and a stolen base. It's nice to have all
of those things, but on the year, man,
going off.
Only 75 at bats,
but he'll get there. I don't know if he,
like missed some time, like with some like a little, little injuries. Like he's been up the entire
year, but he's only has 75 of bats. Uh, hitting 360, a 442 on base percentage, a 587 slug for
the one daughter, 200 OPS plus. He's been going off. So he gets traded, goes to a new
organization, finds a role and has just, you know, he's been a big part of why Seattle, uh,
is in first place in the AOLS. And I just, I love that for him. You know, you, you're, you're,
you think you're going to be in place for a long time,
then all of a sudden you get traded,
and the team that you get traded to doesn't make the postseason,
and the team that you left goes all the way to the World Series,
you can make you feel away.
Like, was it me?
Was I the reason that we weren't there?
But Josh just handled that adversity much better than I did.
My 2017 is one I'd like to forget.
His 2024, he's absolutely crushing it, man.
And it's really, really fun to see.
I'm happy for him.
You know, he's a guy out of Arizona,
so he's playing for the snakes,
dream come true, getting traded
It really has to...
Easy on the snakes, bro.
What?
Go easy on the snakes.
I'm not saying anything bad about the snakes.
They went to the World Series last year.
Yeah, sure did.
I got punched in the mouth
because you went out there
trying to be a lifeguard.
Anyways, I'm just happy for Josh Rojas
because I'm sure it wasn't easy for him
to get traded last year.
Again, like leaving your hometown team,
you know, feeling good about your position there
and then all of a sudden,
totally new franchise, totally new league.
But figuring it out, man.
one dot in it so far this year.
Hey, keep it up, you can be an all-star.
That's how these things work.
Right, and you never know.
I was going to say when the light bulb goes on,
those Arizona years, like, the numbers don't pop,
but they do.
Like, he, he was a positive OPS.
He was a positive OPS plus player that I,
I think when the trade initially happened,
uh,
everyone was kind of laughing because the Mariners have a craving for like,
third baseman, second baseman, that have had moments, but haven't.
Every other team wants short stops.
They're going after third base.
They kind of hadn't put it all together.
And, man, I wonder if it is all coming together.
He has been, Seattle's offense without him would be in a dark, dark spot.
What's my favorite?
Walk to strikeout.
Walk to strikeout.
I was already heading there.
11 walks, 12 strikeouts.
So he's seeing the ball.
Mm.
God.
Grona.
You like that.
Yeah.
We'd be working together at the pizza place.
Oh, my gosh.
Any simulation.
Comment your favorite spot where Jake and I will be working together in an alternate simulation.
Let's see, we've got a, I mean, pool boys, pool men, obviously.
Obviously.
In any scenario where I'm your boss or you're my boss, it's just fun.
Right. Again, leaning on something that's in my background, like your pool history, used to deliver party supplies, we'd be fantastic at that.
You roll up, people are excited. You want us to stick around? Because we'd stay at the party.
You schmooze the wife, I schmooze the husband.
Speaking of Josh. Hold on. Let's go on that real quick. One time we had this bartender of, we hired this bartender to bartend.
Yeah.
You know, show.
Yeah.
Oops.
He just started taking shots and stuff.
And he ubered, he ubered to our house and then ubered away.
Like he was planning on just like partying.
I'm like, that's very unprofessional of you.
Oh, I disagree.
I mean, you're going to be in the mix.
You know a couple drinks are going to go down.
I don't mind the ubers.
I don't mind the ubers, but like.
You don't like how premeditated it was.
In hindsight, it felt premeditated.
And it needs to be, exactly.
It can't be premeditated.
It has to be like just happens.
Like I have to, if I'm the guy that.
hired you. Like, I need to be like, hey, man, let's do some, let's do this. It wasn't like that.
It was like, one for you, one for me. Yeah, you need, you need the people to open up that gate
for you, which they will at a certain point in the night. That's where I always, I think it was
a blessing I never bartended because I, I think, I'm not a big no guy. Take one with us.
Speaking of no, um, I'm going to go show Hey O'Tani for the Dodgers.
Trev, you mentioned it before and I started biting my tongue a little bit.
We mentioned how it's tough to rack up war from the DH spot and like, should arise DH.
Shohei Otani has a 2.4 war this year.
That's insane.
That's an incredible year from your DH.
He leads the National League in hits, doubles, and home runs.
So if you want to combine those to extra base hits, knock yourself out.
Do want pop from the DH.
He's 7 and 0 stealing bases this year.
He's now currently leading in batting average and slugging and OPS,
and OPS plus, and total bases.
And that's what I wanted to mention.
Like him and Mookie, again, are just having this.
Mookie has 3.1 war.
Mookie leads in runs, Mookie leads in walks, and on base.
Like, it's insane what the duo is doing.
But yeah, I just
I wanted to drive at home
because I think there's still
I guess not if you're in baseball
but I still think if you're on the outskirts of baseball
it's like hey Otani hits and pitches
How about this kid?
And it's like no no no no no no no no
He might be the best hitter in the game
While at his best
Probably a top 510 pitcher
So just
Again I try to do a couple of these a year
where it's like, I know we could talk about Shohay Otani every episode,
but that also means you can't ignore him every episode
in a four-for-four-four day at the office to help clinch the sweep.
Two home runs.
This guy's a monster.
Yeah, I don't know how you put it to people.
At the beginning of the year, if you told me that Shoh-Haw-Tani
would be in discussion for the MVP.
I said, no way, man.
We have Shoh-Houh Tani fatigue already.
He's not pitching this year.
Like, just let him go, like, live a normal life as a baseball player.
But then here we are.
Like, he's going to be a top five MVP guy in the National League.
And he's only hitting.
And it's because, like you mentioned, he's one of the best hitters in all of baseball.
It really is you can't say enough about this guy.
And we should not get Shohei Otani fatigue.
And you should go see him play if he comes to your area.
Because we are seeing a once-in-a-lifetime player, man.
We really, really are.
Think about where we were at the beginning
in the year with Shohei Otani.
He was engulfed in a betting scandal.
That's all gone.
You want to know why it's gone?
Number one, because Ipe just is off the face to play.
But number two.
Admitted to being as guilty as any humans ever admitted to being guilty.
Where is Ipe right now?
I need to know that.
Number two, you put up numbers like this.
People forget about everything.
They forget about everything.
He looks like an absolute giant
in the box.
And I talk to pictures
about this all the time.
I'm like,
when you see a guy
that looks like
that looks like that in the box,
what do you do?
And it's like
well, we don't,
there's,
he looks like
he can cover every single quadrant
of the zone.
So it makes,
it makes you want to be perfect.
And when you try to be like that
every single pitch,
you make more mistakes.
No.
Right now,
all the guys leading in war
are short stops,
center fielders,
you know,
a couple starting pitchers
thrown in the mix.
like you mentioned,
D.H.
It's very difficult
to rack up war.
He's second.
Oh, he's third in all the baseball
because Bob Wood Jr. is ahead of him.
Yeah, like Marcelo Zuna right now
has a 986 OPS
and it's a 1.2 war.
It's like half.
But the speed matters and other things too.
And you forget he's one of the fastest players in baseball.
Trev.
Oh, I heard something,
I want to know if you like this.
I heard it on Sunday night baseball last night.
They were talking about an old player who they said his whole, like,
outlook on hitting changed because a hitting coach told him to pretend
every count is a 3-1 count.
Basically, like, you know, 3-1 count,
you're looking for something needy to take a big swing at.
And if you kind of take that approach in every pitch,
I don't know, that can change your outlook as a hitter.
I liked it.
I would say
In most counts you could do that
I wouldn't like do that when I'm down
02 or something like that
I think I think that's when it changes
That means being aggressive to your pitch
And I like that most of the time you need to be like that
Yeah
Okay
Trev
People are yelling right now
Max Muncie's pissed
Why is Shohay stealing the headlines
He got three home or day
Arise four hits
First Day as a Padre
All these MF and pitchers
Cole Irvin wants to be talked about every...
You mentioned all the pictures already.
Sick of them.
But this is where everyone wants to be.
Dirt nasty's on fuego.
That means I'm on fire, baby.
Like wake up.
I've just noticed that I've had my sweatshirt not on.
Yeah, you look like a pitcher.
I'm sorry.
No, I don't.
Yes.
This is what happened.
I got out of the shower.
I was a little hot.
You know, you put your clothes.
on too quickly after the shower.
Yeah.
And they're a little hot.
I know I wanted the sweatshirt out here in the morning,
but I was too hot to put it on.
I can waste a whole shower if I get dressed too quick.
I'm full sweat again.
Here I am.
Yeah.
I look like,
I look like Ena Garden right now with like her sweater over her shoulders,
you know?
I kind of like that vibe a little bit.
I'm going to cook for Jeffrey later.
No big deal.
In Fuego, L.A. Dodger show.
We just talked about him.
We just talked about this guy.
He went 8 for 12 in the series.
Began the first Dodger player since at least 1901
to record 25 extra base hits
in his first 35 games with the organization.
I don't know.
How many stats can we come up with for Shohei?
Nice one, Dalton.
How about Brent Rooker?
Six for 10, a double three homers.
On Saturday, Rooker became the first A's player
to hit two home runs in an inning since Mark McGuire.
He did it on September 22nd, 1996.
Rooker, McGuire, love that connection.
Luis Garcia Jr. for the National.
I almost gave my standout.
He had an absolute bump.
How far is the freaking fence at Nationals Park in right center?
It looks like it's a mile away.
What are we doing there?
He went seven for nine in the series, two homers, eight ribbies for the 2.2 OPS.
Love that for the week.
How about J.J. Bladay?
Outfielder for the Oakland A.
Six for 17.
Two doubles, three homers, seven runs driven in for the 1.5.
Texas starting pitcher.
John Gray.
That's an early settler's name, obviously.
He pitched two games.
He went 15 innings pitched in those two games.
Only three earned runs with 10Ks.
That's good for a 1-8 ERA.
He had no walks, so that whip is down to 0.67 for those starts.
That's nice.
How about Sean?
Jelly.
Yeah.
Three games pitched, five in a third innings pitch.
Only three hits, no runs, no walks, 11Ks.
And that five and a third.
He's the first reliever to have 10 strikeouts in a two-game span this season.
And for the two weeks, this is the two weeks.
This is the one you want to be.
I just mentioned Josh Rojas, too.
I didn't know he was on standout as well.
13 for 30, two doubles, two triples, two homers.
Only three runs driven in.
What?
For the 1.3.
How about my guy, Z. German?
Hottest guy in baseball, like bar none.
Like, people say what you want about your favorite hottest ball player.
He's not hotter than Max Kepler, there's, no doubt.
16 for 38 since coming off the IEL, three doubles, two homers, 11 runs driven in.
A big reason why.
the twins went on that run.
And then Cole Irvin, three games started,
three and no, 20 innings pitch, only 10 hits,
no earned runs, two walks to 11Ks.
What?
Yeah.
Oh, Cole.
He extended his scoreless inning streak to 20 and two-thirds innings.
Whoa.
I mean, I knew he was doing good.
We've highlighted him quite about that.
I gave him my standout last time.
Whoa.
Yeah.
And then at the end of this,
Hoffman, who's been an absolute dog for the Phillies.
He's nasty.
Yeah.
Seven games pitched in the two weeks.
One save, three holds, seven innings pitched.
Three hits.
No walks, 15Ks in seven innings pitch.
That's dominance right there.
And that's who's in Fuego.
Trev.
Incredible job.
Yeah, I mean, seeing Kepler and Irvin, your guys.
Fingerprints.
On that two weeks list.
How do you like that?
I'll tell you what I don't like.
The IL segment.
Brought to you by me.
Placed on the IL, Byron Buxton.
Fortunately, that seems to happen.
Nathan Evaldi, we don't like that for Texas.
Stephen Matt's for the Lou.
Patrick Bailey for San Francisco.
I mentioned all their catchers going down.
Tom Murphy as well.
Let's see.
Trey Turner for Philly.
That's a big one.
White Langford, I think he was Hammy, too, the young man for Texas.
Joe Musgrove, we hate that.
We think Kwan is going to hit the IL today.
Evan Phillips at the back of that Dodgers bullpen.
Returning for I.L.
J.D. Davis for Oakland.
They're saying, hey, we don't even need you, pal.
But you could come in and hit.
Johnny DeLuca, coming back, walking off.
We mentioned Grissom, John Bertie from my Yanks,
Kiermire, Carlson, Manoa, Trinan.
And how about Walker Bueller and know who else is towing the rubber today?
Justin Steele for the Chicago Cubs.
He's a podcaster.
He's pitching.
He's a content, man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just like us.
Let's start everyone's week.
Words are brought to you by the Jam Warehouse.
Our ball and play league just started last night.
Go check it out.
World Class.
athletes, like myself, Trevin Bebes, along with some world-class cricketeers, actually,
like the U.S. national team facing off last night in our warehouse in Jersey.
It's insane.
Our people absolutely love it.
It's just a fun product.
Chris Rose on the call.
If you like John Boy Media stuff, you'd like ball and play.
Go check that out.
I think Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.
Is that what we're doing again?
Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.
8 p.m.
PM premieres, the live chat's fun.
Electric.
Worth prioritizing.
It's electric.
Swear.
Where's your award going, Trevi?
My award is called...
Well, first of all, who won the rat beef?
What do you think?
Oh, I mean, didn't Kendrick mopped him, no?
I think so, too.
That seems to be the consensus.
Like, the West Coast Bangor is pretty good.
It's really the only song that I'm like,
I would play again of all of those songs.
I just like the drama of it all.
Again, for me, I think Drake,
Drake's the loser,
but Drake's always had a loser side to him.
Like, everyone's kind of openly been like, you know,
I mean, it's kind of been a loser.
The grassy Drake, Drake was going through his sad period and stuff.
Like, but.
Curses every team.
Drake will come out with a goddamn banger.
We'll all play it a million times and you keep it moving.
So.
Okay.
I think I'm on the Kendrick one as well.
I really don't care.
I don't.
I actually think they both lost.
Wow.
In my opinion.
I think that's the tough take.
It feels like both have won, like clicks.
Oh, just like bringing hip-pop beefs back?
Okay, I can get down with that.
They've never lost a beef that they've won.
I just think of like, you know, I don't know.
Why am I commenting on the rat beef, I guess?
I needed it.
The reason I said that was because my award,
just like a lot of the rap songs,
it's about stripping.
Sometimes you just got to strip down naked.
Do you ever feel like I went out in this outfit,
maybe I'm a little sweaty,
and I just need a fresh set of clothes.
Or, you know, like you, you got dressed today.
Top half looks great, bottom half not so good.
You're like, you know what, let me take a U turn,
and go back to my closet and figure something out with this outfit.
Sometimes people, we get out there and we're dressed and we don't like the way we feel.
Noah used to be a big one for me, Trev.
Okay.
Travel day, get to the hotel room, instant naked.
Do not bring airplane clothes onto the bed or anywhere near.
You just got to get those things off.
Who knows?
Hard reset.
Yeah.
So you understand.
Sometimes you just got to strip naked.
That could be your soul, too.
your entire inner being
sometimes you have to ditch the ego
and strip it down.
Kendrick Lamar actually said that on the beef.
Start with therapy,
but maybe some ayahuasca to strip the ego.
Sometimes you just got to strip it all the way down.
And for one of my guys,
another guy of my fingerprints are all over.
For Sunny Gray, that is what's happened this season.
Now, he hasn't stripped down every single game,
but he has been phenomenal in stripping the opposing hitters down.
I'll say that.
Five games started, 30 and a third innings pitch.
The guy is 4 and 1 with a 0.89, Jake.
He went five innings, no runs, six innings no runs,
six in a third, two earned runs,
six innings pitched one run,
and then recently against the White Sox,
seven innings pitched, zero earned runs.
and one of the things he's had to do
and he's done this throughout his career
and I've actually seen this happen
is he'll get out there
he'll either just get
soaked with sweat
which we've seen these new uniforms
not be able to hold
they're supposed to wick the sweat
but they wick it and you just
I don't know whatever
he's a guy that goes and
is not like premeditated
hey have a couple jerseys hanging up for me
I'm going to change them throughout the game
he changed everything
socks
pants
Jersey, everything of that nature
because he just didn't feel right out there
and sometimes you just need a reset.
I love that from Sunny Gray.
I love what he brings to the Cardinals.
If you look at the guys they brought in in the off-season
and we all kind of dogged them
because we're like, hey, you brought in Kyle Gibson,
Lance Lynn, Sunny Gray, these guys are all 50 years old.
Like, what are we doing?
It kind of seemed like they were trying to,
I mean, they had a lot of pictures to go out and get,
it kind of seemed like they were just trying to find
I don't even want to call these guys
diamonds in the rough these are career
these are guys that have had great careers
in the big leagues but they're older they're at the back end
of their careers if you will even though sunny gray
came up second in the
Cy Young last year
it seemed like they were kind of
hunting in that area but Sunny Gray and
Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson have been the best
three starters for the Cardinals and if it wasn't
four of those guys you know we're looking at even worse
record but sunny being able
to do it the way he's done
it I think is worth noting.
And if you go into his pitch mix,
I've always talked about Sonny having five pitches
that he throws over 10% and how difficult it is to game plan.
He's kind of there right now.
He's got four pitches that he's throwing over like 12% of the time.
And one thing that caught my eye a little bit,
excuse me, over 14% in time.
One thing that caught my eye a little bit,
last year his sweeper was his best pitch.
19 total run value on that thing.
He threw it 20% of the time.
This year, the curveball is his second most.
most used pitch after his four-seem fastball at 20% of time. And the sweeper's gotten all the way down
to 15% of time. And I think, I don't know if that's just him not having a feel for it yet.
Or he's trying to, you know, kind of go horizontal, not horizontal, vertical, excuse me,
with his stuff. So the big curveball and the four seam. I'm not really sure. I guess if you're a Cardinals fan,
let me know what's going on there. But that is a, that's a decent size change for him. So he's
pitching well. He's making adjustments.
and if it weren't for Sunny Gray,
we're talking about the Cardinals in the same vein
as we did last year or in the same vein as the Astros.
But, you know, four and one in those starts,
he's helped them tread water a little bit.
And if they do go on to make a run
and be part of this NL Central discussion,
Sunny Gray isn't a huge part of it.
So the stripper award goes to Sunny Gray.
Oh, Sunny's been incredible this year.
He was incredible last year,
a 089 ERA right now.
I'll finish second in the Syung Nicole last year.
San Luis fans, I'm going to tell you this first part
because you're not going to want to hear the second part.
I'm rooting for you guys.
I want you guys to have a Minnesota Twins-like run
because the offense hasn't been there.
You're getting some pitching efforts.
I mean, has a team ever needed like a nine-game win streak
more than the St. Louis Cardinals to try to put last year away
and try to get into this year?
They got to figure it out soon, man, because they are currently last in the central.
They just played the White Sox and lost two out of three.
You can't do that.
And that, you know, we jokingly talked about that strike three call after the three-hour rain delay.
That was bases loaded in extra innings.
Like, that's a ball in the gap away from being a win.
Go ask the Mets and the Rays about that.
So they really need to see it come together.
and Sunny's helping, and I teed all that up to say,
man, would be a really interesting trade deadline team.
Like, would Sunny be on the table?
I mean, he'd have, he signed that three-year deal.
It'd be two and a half.
And he's pitching like at one.
I know they don't want to hear that.
Katie Wu is one of my favorite beatwriters out there.
She does a really good job.
She's critical.
She's positive at the same time.
I think she does write some of the better articles out there.
She has one out on the athletic right now talking about Sunny.
There's a lot of really fun quotes from his teammates just talking about how much of a dog he is.
So in a veteran-laden clubhouse, I think Sunny has come in and really made a mark.
Get some wins.
Is a way to make some work?
Am I still liking Ollie Marmal?
That's a, you feels like you wrestle with that every day.
I do.
Send Gibby the text.
Having a nice year.
Trev, I am giving out the hibernation award.
It's something bears famously do
that we're all taught when we're young
and we're like, that makes sense.
Yeah, the bears just go to sleep for the winter.
What?
It's fucking bizarre.
It's just bears, but yeah.
Yeah, there's a couple other animals.
How do you sleep for that long?
Don't you get hungry?
I think they, like, are awake.
I looked into this the other day.
Like hiding away.
They're just like super sleep.
I don't know.
We're just told as kids, bears go to sleep for the winter,
and then they wake up.
And we all say, yeah, that makes sense.
Snakes have cold blood.
What?
That's for another late night episode.
And I don't, I think I might have been the one hibernating.
And it's about the Cubs rotation because,
hey, NL Central, here's where we land.
Justin Steele has been out, and I was, I,
I was like, hey, if Justin Steele goes down
or if he has a setback just pitching-wise at all,
what does that mean for the Cubs rotation?
Cubs fans didn't love that analysis.
And Cubs fans might be right.
And maybe I was the one sleeping on the Cubs rotation.
Because in a big series this weekend,
Cubs starters went 18.1 scoreless
against the Milwaukee Brewers.
division rival, a team that has been hitting a ton. It's all we talked about. How much the
Brewers were hitting this April? It's all we talked about. We might have discussed a little more.
Javier Assad got the pill in game three. Jameson Tyone in game two. And Hayden West Neski
in the first game. I think coaching matters. I know the Cubs love their pitching coach,
or the fans have told me that. They are fourth in ERA as a rotation on the
hole, and that's with Justin Steele, having been out, obviously Imanaga has been a massive
part of that, but he did not pitch this weekend.
So Cubbies, this NL Central that's fascinated us, the Brewers, they're going to be there.
The Cubs seems like they're going to be there.
Will the Reds fight back?
Will the Pirates fight back?
Will the Cardinals fight back?
I don't know, but the Cubs on paper with the payroll abilities to back it up, with the
prospect capital to back it up.
And for me, the pitching was more of a question than anything,
and that seems to be their least biggest question mark right now.
So a little cub love from me to finish it up.
I was wondering where you're going with the whole bear thing.
The cubs hibernate, they have to, right?
I mean, they're bears.
They're bears.
Yeah, fourth in the league and ERA 313.
I guess, like, I'm looking at, like, the ERA leaders.
Like, Red Sox, no one thought that would be a possibility.
be Philly's sure, like they have some, they're better than we thought they would be.
We thought they'd be pretty dang good, but they're crushing it.
Mariners are up there.
And then the Cubs.
I don't know if anyone had the Cubs doing that, especially with Justin Steele not being there, like you mentioned.
Shoda was kind of like we didn't know what was going to happen.
He's been great, but you're right.
They're a fun team to watch.
I think the N.O. Central is going to be one of the more fascinating divisions in baseball this year.
And the Cubs showed out.
That was a big series for them, especially at home, you know, going up against the team that was first
division.
I liked it.
See the PCA helmet on the base thing?
Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
I don't know if that's legal.
It doesn't seem like it should be because
definitely not.
They said it's not.
Yeah.
MLB said we don't have a rule on it, but not legal.
We're adding one.
What do you mean then?
Right?
If you don't have a rule on it,
it's legal.
What's the difference between that in the oven mitt?
Oh, great story.
That's what I'm saying.
I got baseball today like right now, but.
Yeah.
One minute on the clock.
Okay.
Everybody on Teddy's eight and under fucking travel team has one of the mitt sliding mitt.
None of them know how to slide head first.
So one of the dads, his son wanted one.
He said, look, man, like, do you really need one?
He said, I really want one, dad?
It's just a swag thing, right?
So the dad says, okay, I'll make you a deal.
He gave him an actual oven mitt and said, if you wear this during a game and, like, really do it,
I'll get you one of the sliding gloves.
This dude went out there with an actual oven mitt,
and he dove into,
he's our big boy on the team.
He dove in the second base oven,
dove in the home place, oven mitt,
walked the game off with like a freaking,
like a three run double with,
and like put the oven mitt on afterwards.
It was absolutely hilarious.
Like, kudos to the dad for like coming up with that
and kudos for the kid for doing it.
I'm so,
I'm so happy we stayed for that.
That's so electric.
That's good parenting.
That's a stud of a kid.
I think I have a picture.
I'll show it.
Because that helps.
Everyone enjoy your week.
Go baseball.
Chick sucks.
Is it pink?
It's a red.
Jake sucks.
It's a red mitt.
Bears enter more of a torpor state when they hibernate.
They don't necessarily do the full thing.
I'm reading an article.
It says an animal.
or not an article, it's a Reddit comment.
An animal which truly hibernates would be hedgehogs.
You can kick them or throw them around and they won't wake.
And that got me.
Bears just like give birth during the winter.
The world's fake.
What?
The whole world is fake.
