Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
It's that time.
The last all-J-M before the season is over.
Let's talk all.
All skeins.
Strong, strong.
Two strikes.
Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
Both hot.
Brought to you by Seat Geek talking 2025.
I am Jake Storelli.
That is Trevor Plouffe.
Rob is here producing.
Haven't even thought about if we're going to
go to Jimmy for tiebreakers or not.
We'll figure that out live.
We'll do it live.
Coach Trev, can you believe we're here?
September deuce?
Like people, there's a playoffs conversation in the office today.
I'm so happy for Yankee fans.
You guys are back.
You guys were so bad for a while.
You're back.
Oh, yeah, Aaron Boone.
You know, it's right there in front of us, all these things.
Get out of here with that.
I can believe it's September.
I feel it.
I'm ready for the playoffs to start.
I'm actually, I'm not ready for the playoffs to start.
I'm ready for the last two weeks of the season.
Let's just get there.
Where we can really start saying, okay, what do we have to do to get to the playoffs?
There's still like a little bit too much time for me right now where anything could happen.
But then when you start to think about it, Jake, like a five and a half game lead right now is like, unless a team completely tailspins,
very difficult to give up five and a half freaking games.
Right.
So we'll see what happens.
I'm excited for this episode.
I went over the, the AL seems like a breeze.
The NL, not so much.
Ain't that it?
Yeah, let's dive in.
And I know no standings this episode,
but if you'd happen to check,
go look where the Texas Rangers are.
They're back in the midst.
What?
The Royals are two and a half games back.
Banks are going to be the best AL team.
I thought they stunk.
And the twins are going to go play the Royals this weekend.
And I'm watching because my friend's going to be in the booth.
Excited for that.
Justin Moreno.
Let's get into AllJM.
If you are new to the program, hello, and happy September.
We go through.
The baseball awards weren't enough for us.
It was just All-Star Game originally,
and that didn't tell the full story that we want to go in
and month by month let you know who the best team was.
Because we also just watch a lot of our own team.
that sometimes you're like, we've got the best third baseman.
Well, actually, they might be third best in the NL.
So it's not intended to dunk on you.
I guess it's more so if you do have that guy that we want to give them their flowers.
So it is not just for the month.
At this point of the year, we are giving it out to the best player through August.
Almost said September.
Or through September.
through August.
Through August at the start of September.
This isn't the best August.
This is the best player through August.
From March 27th, wherever the hell it was,
through August 31st.
Those are the stats.
So at the end of July,
your American League was Cal Raleigh,
Kurtzcoma, Nick, Big Amish,
Jazz Chish, Jism Jr., Jose Ramirez,
Byron Bucks, and Aaron Judge, Julio.
Grab the stretch.
Brent Rooker at D.H.
Vladdy Jr. won our fan vote, which we will have another one of those, as we always do.
Terrick Scoobel, we're kind of over pitchers, except the SK boys, because Skeens has it in the National League.
Behind the dish for the NL, it's Will Smith, Michael Bush at first, Ketel Marte at second,
Ellie De La Cruz at short, Mani Machado at third, PCA, King Tuck, Kyle Stowers, interesting.
Kyle Schwarber at D.H.
And Corbyn Carroll won the fan vote.
And he's continued to go.
So I'm interested to see where it all lands.
As we do, let's start out in the AL.
And this is still the easiest decision that we'll make, Coach.
Kyle Raleigh.
Can I just say something?
Please.
That list of the AL, I have one change.
Okay.
Stay tuned for Trevor Ploos, one change.
At the end of the month, it is worth saying 50 home runs from Cal Raleigh, 107 RBI, 932 OPS, 7.2F4 if you're into that.
If he wasn't there, it could be a Kirk Dingler Langalear's discussion in the nicest way to those players who I like.
I'm glad it's not.
But shout out to those young catchers doing their thing.
but obviously Cal Raleigh has been the story of this season.
Yeah, and Cal Raleigh, you know, mired in a sort of a slump.
He's the batting average isn't there.
I believe he's hitting under 200 over the last month or month and a half,
but the slug is still there.
The OPS is 770 during that quote unquote slump.
So, you know, he's still producing.
I would like to see Cal like finish with an absolute flurry.
I hope that happens because guess what?
The Mariners need him.
him to. We just talked about the Rangers. They're a game and a half out. The Royals game or two
and a half games out. The Mariners might not make the playoffs. Cal needs to like, I mean, he needs
to get to 60 homers and he needs to really be productive this month. It's a big month for
Mariner baseball, man, with where those Rangers are at in the standings and just the whole
storylines there. Let's figure it out. Congrats to Colorado.
Raleigh. And congrats to you guys for listening, because that means you can use seat geek.
And that means you could go watch a team like Seattle, try to get back to the dance.
I think we just had a Wrigley highlight up there.
Wherever there's seats, Seat Geek sells tickets, and they are the number one rated
ticketing app.
So think about it.
If you're going somewhere with seats, maybe go check out Seat Geek.
And hey, maybe if your team is out of it, that other sport has begun.
We are here. Football season is happening.
Trevor's got a friend that plays.
Each ticket is rated on a scale of 1 to 10.
10 good.
There's also dots, green good.
You know how to use the app.
Go use it. Code talking 2025.

Treb, it was also probably worth saying that Cal Rale has done it soup to not.
I mean, every month he has won, that it's looking like he is going to win the vaunted Silver Daisy.
And that makes sense because he's going to hit Fitty Home Runs this year.
Or he already has.
At first base, young Spencer Torkelson.
Remember that story in April?
Jonathan Aranda took it for the next two months.
And then Big Amish has come onto the scene where his stats are still at.
There's probably a Vladdy discussion, but I'm judging from your tone that you're keeping it Amish.
I'm voting for Nick Kurtz here. I think what he's done has been, you know, probably one of them, you know, we're talking about Cal Raleigh being the, you know, the storyline of the year.
If Nick Kurtz was on a different team, we're talking superstar, you know, the A's out there in Sacramento, not really in the discussion as far as postseason, I understand.
And does the ballpark help him probably a little bit?
But this guy is like if you haven't watched him hit, like go watch him hit.
It's a treat the way he approaches.
He's got plate discipline.
I think he's got even more of that in line in the next coming year.
Swing decisions will be better as he gets more, you know, pitches seen at the big level.
But the power is absolutely real.
The hit tool is absolutely real.
So Nick Kurtz gets it for me.
I'd already put Vladie in the fan,
vote discussion if we're, if you want to just put that out there.
Because he's had a great year. Blue Jay is still in first place in the ALE East,
although, you know, that's getting close as well in that race.
But he's, he's in a very, very good job after getting that extension earlier this year.
Yeah, I mean, Kurt has a lot of counting stats, which is insane because he's, you know,
about 30 games behind.
But with an OPS, you know, 1.03 Ford of Vladys 862, that's, that's, that's, that,
That's significant.
He's been one of the breakout stars of the sport this year.
Vladdy rolls on to the fan vote.
Hey, little shout out our guy, Vinnie Pasquantino made the list here.
28 homers, he got real hot.
Wouldn't hate seeing where some of those end of years numbers,
end of years numbers lands.
That's an analysis.
Couple Stanford men here.
Oh, I was going to talk about Vladdy.
One thing that I really love, you know, if you watch this,
these episodes, or just any talking.
baseball episodes. Walk to strikeout ratio.
Yeah. Vladi, 73 walks, 83 strikeouts through August.
That's, that gets me going a little bit.
That's, he bad in a good way. We'll see him in the fan vote.
At second base this year, Coach Shreve, Christian Campbell, a wild year for him.
And then it turned into Glaber Torres for two months, and then it turned to Jazz Chisholm.
And some of his numbers are super impressive.
If you're a stolen base, Homer person, just cleared the 25-25 mark.
Let's see where he lands that.
He's competing with Jose Al-Tuvae, Brandon Lau, and Glaber.
Again, I ended up in a weird spot because it felt like it was down to jazz and
Gleber, and that was picking between, you know, two of my favorite children last time.
I think jazz stays?
It's jazz for me.
Yep. He's had a great year. He's put himself in a position to really earn some cheese here. He's had a great offensive year with some slug. He's also stolen 25 bags through August. He's kind of like done it all now settling in at second base. I think it's really nice for him. So to me, yes, it's jazz. And I don't really think there's anybody necessarily close to him at this point. No, I think Brandon Lowe's power numbers are getting to an interesting point, but also the defense and base running.
Jazz can provide is very plus plus.
As a Yankee, Jazz Chisholm, 151 games, 5.3 wore 37 homers, 43 steals.
Like, those are, you're right, man.
If he keeps playing this way to free agency.
Yeah, what's he got left?
Next year, I believe.
Yeah, one more year?
Yeah, right?
And he's 28, like,
Jazz might have played this whole thing right.
And hey, I've had some ups and downs with how I felt about the Yanks this year,
and that's how it goes.
Brian Cashman, this trade looks pretty damn good.
Because at the time, we were all like, I don't know, Jazz, New York City?
It's been a good one.
It's been a good one.
Moving on.
To shortstop.
Oh, Treb, these are all your guys, man.
Oh, God.
Bobish.
Jet, Gunner, Netto, Pena.
I think they've still bend the knee to Bobby Witt, Jr.
How is his year is starting?
This is why Kansas City's back.
Yeah, he's been a big part of the reason that they're back.
Him and Vinny have been going off.
Bobby Witt, he gets my vote right now,
34 swipes on the year, almost hitting 300,
which a lot of these guys are hitting at Ships.
Really, really nice.
of the guys on the list, all the guys you mentioned,
he's got the highest OPS of any of them.
The on base percentage, 353.
So he's getting on.
Then he's stealing bags, which is really nice.
Playing, you know, obviously exceptional defense.
He just has every tool in the bag.
It's a lot of these guys do,
but I think Bobby is just a tick above the rest of him.
And there's a reason that he's, you know, of this group,
which I think can produce multiple stars.
I think Bobby Witt's the one that shines the brightest.
Bobby Witt is here.
A little 15-game current hit streak, I believe.
Yeah, him and Vinnie turning it on has brought them in the mix.
Texas is in the mix.
Seattle, let's go.
Congrats to Bobby Witt, Jr.
Your AL shortstop for a while.
And then I remember, like, Gunner's here,
and he got off to a slow start.
So we'll see what happens there.
Gunners looked, yeah, Gunners looked incredible.
And shout out, we didn't mention Jackson Holiday,
but, like, he's putting together.
Oh, wow.
He's starting to establish himself.
There's going to be some Orioles hype going into next year,
interested to see.
Bobby Witt has had it every month,
except June when it was Jeremy Pena,
who's still having an incredible year.
He got banged up, hitting over 300.
The way Jeremy...
Did Bobby Witt not win the fan vote?
Oh, hold.
We had a three-team race, three-person racing.
in June?
We're going to get Rob on it.
We're going to see what happened.
It looked like it was Witt, Vlad, and Garcia.
So we'll have the judges.
We'll have the judges chime in.
Anyways, third base.
Alex Bregman with the Gangbuster first month.
Bad out of hell.
And then there was old reliable.
For the last three months,
it's been Jose Ramirez.
Go click on that dude's page
when you get a second today.
Although,
Trevor,
Michael Garcia,
another royal.
Come on, man.
Stop talking about this old guy.
This was like the only,
the only race here
in the AL that I think we need to
seriously sit down and discuss.
I think Jose
edges him slightly in most categories.
I mean,
they're pretty much naked.
neck. Garcia's got him by four games. More doubles, less homers. Ramirez has him in runs at
84 and runs driven in at 68. Mikel has 64. They both have great walk-to-strikeout ratios,
which is awesome to see for Mikel, 51 and 75 for him, 54 and 60 for Jose Ramirez. And even the swipes,
you know, you know Jose is going to put him down every single year. He's got 36 through August. And
Mikel had 22.
So, I mean, a lot of this stuff is very, very similar.
And I can be persuaded, but I think I'm going to stick with J-RAM.
And I don't, I guess I don't necessarily have a great reason why.
I guess I'll go because he's leading him by 14 swipes.
That might be the separator for me when everything else is eerily similar.
Weighted runs, Created Plus through August, 129 for Mikel Garcia, 130 for Jose Ramirez.
even the OPS, 836 for Michael Garcia, 857 for Jose.
So they are neck and neck.
And I guess the stolen bases is the separator for me.
It's interesting.
And we've done this before.
And whether it's been like J-RAM endeavors,
there's been a lot of great third baseman that it's like,
when you get to this point, what do you really do?
I do think it's, I think you and I sometimes get scared that we're like,
hey, if this was just a blank piece of paper
and we didn't know the name Ramirez
and we didn't know Garcia,
what would we truly do?
I think this is where we get in our own way a little bit
because J-Ram, you know, 11 more homers is significant.
You know, what is it?
14 more stolen bases?
The OPS is higher?
Like, it is, it's J-Ram.
It's just, this is, this has gotten much tighter
than we would have ever expected.
54 extra base hits for Michael Garcia
through August 53 for our good pal,
Jose Ramirez.
I mean, it's very, very close.
And I think if you're Michael Garcia,
you're just stoked to be mentioned
along with Jose Ramirez.
Does the team factor come into play?
Guardians, Chris Rose,
has officially counted them dead.
Does that mean anything to you?
It means something that,
Kansas.
This infield, this Royals.
Right?
Holy smokes.
Yeah, I guess it's, I know Michael Garcia has also been a big,
has been a huge factor for them all year.
I guess it's who J-Ram is for Cleveland does factor in for me,
that if, like, you're the opposing team,
you plan around him.
Like, everything is around him.
Where with the Royals, I think you still,
I mean, maybe it'd be foolish this year,
but you'd still prioritize Bobby Witt.
You probably still prioritize Pasquintino,
even maybe Salvi to a degree that it's not exactly my Eddie Rosario,
Batts third, and that means more theory,
because Mikel's been up there.
But he also got to be taken off the throne, we've kind of said before.
I think so, too.
Have you considered Mikel for the fan vote?
I think so, and I think he was in it before.
I think that that year we were talking about.
He's in that June one.
I'm still getting the...
I'm trying to find the final for June.
I'll go J-RAM as well.
So snaps for him.
I mean, in all times...
He might have the most pedals ever.
Well, that could be at a good...
Good Dalton assignment at some point.
I think Judge's got a lot of them, too.
Oh, and that brings us to...
By the way, Junior Camerero,
39 homers, maybe he deserves more love.
Maybe we shouldn't get sucked.
into war as much.
39 and 94.
We're not getting sucked into war.
Don't, don't do that.
We never do.
We never will.
Not us.
You mentioned Judge, the American League Outfield.
The American League Outfield has been, of course it was Wheeler-A-Brayu,
Aaron Judge, and Cedric Mullins, don't even playing that league.
Then Byron Buxton, you're not.
guy entered the chat.
Stephen Kwan was there.
Byron Buxton stayed.
Riley Green joined the party.
Buck Daddy, Julio, and Judge is where we landed last month.
It got tight.
Randy's lurking.
A few other guys.
If you are new to this episode, we need a center fielder to start, which Byron
Buxton and Julio were on this team last time we checked, and I think one of them is going
to continue to roll on.
well snaps for
Aaron Judge
Oh
he's on his way
to another Silver Daisy
or did he miss it last year
Ooh
I think he missed it last year
He started out real slow
In April
Yeah
It's hard to do
Gosh who the heck was it
They got it in April
Someone really funny
But yeah
So yeah he did not get the Silver Daisy
Last year
But he's on his way
Probably will
I mean
We can almost give it to him
A Cal right now
So Aaron Judge
you're in. I'm on the thought process of Byron and Julio.
There's a few guys that you can convince me otherwise of, because these are the guys that
they kind of do it all around. There might be somebody with better offensive stats than
Julio, but the way he plays center field, the way he runs the bases, I think is really special.
Buxton's in for me. I'm giving Buckson the center field spot. I think he's been the most
complete center field in the game.
Over 100 games played,
which I know doesn't sound like a lot,
but for him two years in a row of that means something.
He's been incredible on the base pass.
For anyone that has 100 stolen bases or more,
he's the most efficient base dealer of all time, Jake.
Oh.
A 91% clip.
And I don't know if you know this.
Never stolen third base in his entire big league career until this weekend.
I didn't know that, Trev.
He just, he got thrown out.
There's this crazy article by Aaron Gleman,
who writes for the twins for the athletic.
And we knew this.
I mean, the broadcast team knew this.
He just doesn't steal third base.
Or like never has.
First got, or the last time he attempted it,
A.J. Persinski threw him out at Target Field in 2016.
A.J. Presensky got drafted by the twins like six months before Byron Bucson was boring.
Threw him out.
Byron's like, I'm never doing that again.
And for some reason, I don't know.
He always said it's because I'm already in the scoring position.
But now the time you're really trying to be aggressive on the base pass.
So he stole third base.
Yeah, that's interesting because I, you know,
that stolen base feels very much about the jump.
And if you get it, it's almost like game over,
especially with Buxton speed that, okay, there was information for everyone.
Yeah, crazy.
Trev, I might cut you off at the pass a little bit.
because I like Buxton and Julio,
so I don't really care who's in center.
Yeah, it doesn't matter.
They're both center field, so they both can fit on the team.
Again, I said I got one change here,
and I'm not even sure I got that.
The outfield, to me, would be the same as last month.
I think it is Byron.
I think it is Julio, and I think it is Judge.
Belly, what a great addition that you guys have with him.
He's had a phenomenal year.
We know he can do it what Randy's meant to the Mariners
in the season that he's putting up.
Pretty special, man.
And he's got 24 swipes and he's got homers
and he's got everything.
He's doing it, man.
Which is, again, I'll keep referencing this.
Think about what the Mariners have.
Right.
Starting pitching hasn't been as good as it has been in the past,
but I'll tell you what,
they're still one of the best rotations in baseball.
Okay, like the way that that's stacked up,
I'd take them over almost every single team.
probably a top five draft pick as far as rotations in all the baseball.
Got to get back end of the bullpen.
They got guys doing it kind of up and down the lineup and MVP candidate in Cal Raleigh.
And we're still talking about them missing the playoffs.
I know Mariners fans hate that, but it's a shock to me.
I don't even want to comment because I feel bad for them tuning into all JM and that's
the ripple effect they're getting.
Shout it to my guy Cody.
I'll put a fan vote for him.
Cody Bellinger versus lefties this year
369
Nice
410 on base
631 slugging
1.04ing off of lefties
That's amazing
So weird game
Weird game
Who else is crushing lefties
We'll get there to eventually
Swarber and Harper
Both of them
Huh
Kyle Schwerber just had to
Embrace death
I think he said
That's how he got good
against facing lefties.
Whoa.
Shout out White Langford.
He's put together
a heck of a year as well.
Big ass forearms.
Love that for him.
But yeah, I think for me,
I will go Judge Buck and Julio.
Run it.
Give me belly in that fan vote.
Hey, and Taylor Ward,
feel better, bro.
Yeah, that was kind of gnarly.
Huh?
R-A-L-D-H is brought to you by
skims.
Don't, we're not going to skim over it.
And you shouldn't skim over what you're wearing on your downstairs unless you're getting skims.
We all wear it.
They've sent us a bunch.
It is in the rotation.
And they've got multiple options for you.
The stretch, the cotton, the sport.
Whatever you're looking for, the perfect fit, maybe the stretch.
Cotton blend lasts all day.
And the sport fabric wicks away the sweat.
Skims.
has you covered on all the bases.
So, shop skims at skims.com.
Let them know we sent you.
After you place your order, select podcast in the survey,
select our show in the drop-down menu that follows.
Thank you to Skims.
Go get yourself.
Go freshen up your downstairs.
The designated hitter position, prominent in the American League.
Now it's in both leagues.
Fun fact.
Jorge Polanco in April.
Went nuts.
He go.
Raphael Devers.
Traded.
Brent Rooker.
Brent Rooker
the final two months.
And as we bring up the sheet,
oh, Trevor Plouf,
I may see your one change
because there is a person
who does stand out a little bit more.
Yes.
So George Springer now accumulating
a bunch of DH days
in Toronto.
though. At first I was like, it's not really fair.
Like his war is going to be more than Brent Rookers because he spent some time in
the outfield. But really, if you're breaking it down, I don't think there's crazy
defensive value. He's played 63 games at D.H. Brent Rooker is just a D.H. So he's got all
those games there. The offensive stats are better than Brent Rookers. They just are.
391 OBP to 343 for Brent Rooker. 535 slug to 496, 926 OPS.
839 15 swipes with no cot stealing for Springer no slouch Brent Rooker five stolen bases that a boy
and the homers Brent Scott obviously extra base hits he's doing it there 27 for Brent 24 for George
Springer and then you can talk about runs driven in but you can also say you know what part
of the order they hitting in George Springer better walk percentage better strikeout percentage
some of the counting stats Brent will have on George,
but overall hitting stats,
I think that Springer's had the better years.
I think this is the one change that I'm,
that I'm voting for in the American League is George Springer at DH.
George Springer has been awesome to watch this year.
His resurgence or whatever you want to label it.
And, okay, so sometimes we,
wonder, and this is why we do this episode out loud, because there's a lot of places that do
the vote and don't tell you how they get there. You get the real thoughts in live time.
I think it's close. I do think Springer is better, and for this one, I would bring in, like,
team impact into it. And, like, without Springer, I think Springer's been their MVP this season.
I know Vladdy's kind of catching up, and so is Bo. Like, Springer, I don't want to.
to say we wrote them off, Gino Smith-style, but a lot of players get old in this game,
and every player, in fact, does. There's a little analytics. What Springer has done this year
and what the energy he plays with, I could give you a stolen base of speech, I could go to the
on-base, I could go to the slugging. I think George Springer has taken the ALDH.
and most importantly,
Yukon. Go Huskies.
51 games in the outfield,
63 at DH.
So that's the one thing I think about.
Okay,
even though it's not really fair
to George Springer,
in our exercise,
we like our guys to play their positions.
We used to have a utility
that became more of a fan vote
because it was difficult.
I'm going Springer as well.
Again, this was my one change.
I love me some Brent Rooker,
rooting for the guy,
even though I voted against
him to hit 260, which I believe he's there.
He's around it.
Rooker 22 games in the outfield.
So, you know, we're doing what we do here.
Congrats to George Springer on a phenomenal bounceback season.
What more could he want then to hear from you and me to tell him that?
Treb, this is where things get hairy and I don't really know what to do.
And I might have to give John Boy a slap on the butt because I
I remember he was like,
hey, let's not do pitchers.
And I was kind of like, well, you got to, right?
I mean, scoobel and crochet right now.
I,
it's scubel.
Tell the people why.
I'm not saying that crochet is not a great pitcher
or any of these guys on this sheet are not a great picture.
He just edged them out in everything.
Through August.
We've got two thirds more innings pitch.
Not a lot, but it's more.
He's given up less hits.
He's given up less runs by,
29 for crochet 47 for Terrick.
Less earned runs, 42 for Terrick, 46 for a crochet.
He's got one less home run.
He's walked less people.
He struck out two more people.
Like, it's just, he's just a tick better than Garrett Crochet.
That's just the bottom line.
Ain't that it, man.
I think you're right.
It sounds a little better out of your voice than Yankee Jake coming out.
although again me and crochet
Instagram friends
second biggest player in the majors right now
in my opinion next to Judge
well Chris Sanchez
a girth included
yeah crochet's got some girth
you're right about that I mean crochet's
thighs
see him in the shower
have not yet
you should ask around
we can
is there rumors about judge
how do you mean
you know what I mean
here's the thing about big guys it's tough get a big backdrop right the scale doesn't necessarily translate
that's why like the little guys they're like you're like whoa i haven't heard about judge i'm going to
assume it's a decent situation down there and that's all i have to say about that yeah you
should not be talking that's all let me do this talk yeah um congrats to terrick school
argument for the best pitcher in baseball against probably the guy who will get it in the
National League.
Trev, so who's our fan vote?
It's Vladdy.
I need some belly in there.
I'm going to be honest.
Vladdy, belly, and then there was a shortstop, right?
Oh, Mikel Garcia.
Michael Garcia.
Done.
Yeah.
Yeah, I could see Pena.
Yeah, I think that's right.
I think that's right.
So if you're a fan of those teams, make sure you're a fan of those teams,
make sure you go, we tweet it out, and you guys make the final call.
Let's go into the NL, because like Trev said, there might be more up for grabs here.
Well, I was going to say it didn't start behind the dish,
but William Contreras has made things a little more interesting in Milwaukee.
He has picked it up this year, especially this past month,
and a couple of young bloods there, too.
but it has been Will Smith the past three months
we will never forget Carson Kelly's April
by the way still playing well for the Cubs
had a great game yesterday won the game for them
every time I put on the Cubs
it feels like Carson Kelly is doing something
Will Smith has just been incredible this year
William Contreras is catching up
I don't know if the full
no I'll stop being dramatic
the offensive profile isn't there to catch Will Smith, who at the end.
Oh, Trev, I hear a deep sigh.
Go on.
132 games to Will Smith 107.
So the counting stats are better.
And that's, you know, they're going to be better when you're playing, you know,
25 more games than the next guy.
So he's got him in hits.
He's got him in doubles.
They're tied for homers.
He's got him in runs.
He's got him in RBI.
He's walked more, although let's look at the percentage here.
Walk percentage, Will Smith's got him 15% to 12.9.
Contreras, a better strikeout percentage.
It's like when you look at the slash line, that's what we're looking at for Will Smith.
404 on base, hot, 497 slug.
He's hitting 293.
He's almost 3.45ing it as a catcher.
That's what we're falling in love with.
And William Contreras, 765 OPS, 355 OVP, 410 slugs.
So, like, I think that's what we're looking at with Will Smith.
Again, like William McChrys has a lot of the counting stats.
You know, I don't love catchers' defensive.
Yeah.
I don't love them because it really is,
I would say, let's just think about this.
I'd say William Concheris has an easier pitching staff to catch than Will Smith,
who's had to work with a thousand pitchers this year.
Guys like Blake Snell, who just are going to hammer a curve on the dirt every fucking
Yeah.
It's closer than I think we initially gave it credit for.
But I think I'm leaning Will Smith,
but I don't think it's clear necessarily.
I mean, Contreras has been awesome, especially of late.
But I think that's just overlooking that Will Smith has done this now for months.
And, like, yes, the games by Contreras does deserve credit.
and I'm very interested to see
at the end of the year when we do this
is Contreras going to have like 160 games played?
Like what are his game numbers going to land at?
You know, deaching on his quote-unquote rest days.
But we're talking about a 901 OPS hitter
and a 765 OPS hitter that I think for what they both provide defensively,
yes, the games are cool, but this is,
I mean, this is,
Kurtz, come, Nick in the air.
I'm going Will Smith.
I'm like there with you.
I don't love it.
Fight me, Daddy.
It's not clear and convincing.
Now, here you go.
So, Will Smith, and this, again, has a lot to do with his pitching staff.
Worst framer in the league.
Not great.
First percentile, minus 11.
What does that really mean?
I don't know.
Did he get bad umpires?
Does he have a staff that can't throw strikes or they're all over the place?
Probably.
It's probably what it means.
You at least have to consider
Are you talking to me?
Who else am I talking to?
I'm interested to say
He was also bad in framing last year
I wonder if that's a him thing
If that's a Dodgers thing
Is dead even framing
A good blocker
None of these stats matter
I'm sorry
They don't
They don't
Yes
They don't
I mean
Let's see who's got
For Will Smith
I feel like we owe him some anyway.
We're a little and dead if you've been tracking the history of the show.
And William Contreras hasn't taken it by any means.
I'm willing to see what the numbers are at the end of the year.
But at this point, Will Smith has been better.
Well, Pop, let me tell you something.
If you think that was tough, go look at first base.
Oh, boy.
The National League first base position.
A lot of names.
It went Pete to Freddie,
to Pete to Michael Bush.
And as Trev has now laid out for you,
there's Pete, there's Bush, there's Freddie,
there's Harper, there's Olson.
Oh God, I'll let you set it up.
You know, the only, okay,
there's only one first baseman on this list
that's like having a year defensively.
How much does that mean for your first basement?
I don't know, but all their offensive stats
are pretty damn close.
Matt Olson, the reason he's got him in B-war and in F-war is because of his
defensive prowess there.
The rest of these guys are not having good years.
Freddie Freeman, not having a good year.
Pete Alonzo having a miserable year, according to the metrics.
Same with Bryce Harper.
Michael Bush, pretty good year, all things considered.
So it's what do you like?
Because Pete Alonzo already has 110 runs driven in through August.
Okay, he's got the most homers.
You got 31 and 110 through August.
The next closest guy to him would be Mike Bush at 26 and 76.
So they're not even in the same category.
Should he rebrand a Mike Bush?
That kind of slaps a little more than Michael.
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
I like that.
It's so this is when I looked at the sheets, I was like, gosh, darn it, dude.
This is going to be such a difficult one.
Bryce Harper 11 swipes on the year.
The rest of them are not many after that.
It's really, really jumbled up.
If you're looking at
Bryce Harper,
I think you're out, bro.
In this instance,
109 games played.
We've got other guys
that have been suiting up
every single day.
Sometimes it matters.
Sometimes it doesn't.
It's all context-driven for us.
Pete Alonzo,
you've been in there every single day, man.
I love that.
It's,
I think it's between Pete Alonzo
and Michael Bush,
or my new buddy,
Mike Bush.
I think they obviously both have an argument.
I think Freddie does.
I mean, seeing that 300 batting average does something for me.
I think I'm going to buck the trend here a little bit
or maybe where people would think I would go.
I'm leaning Alonzo.
I realize RBI are opportunity-driven.
but you still have to drive them.
Every single one of these guys is getting opportunities.
Every single one of these guys is getting opportunities.
One ten, Trev?
Like, hey, I, you know, every now and then we do our Fight the Nerd speech,
aka every episode.
No one would be a great baseball team,
a team that everyone drove in a hundred runs.
Like, that would be a really good team.
I mean, don't say stuff like that.
You like that?
No, I don't like that.
Why don't you like that?
You know what, Jake?
You don't like that?
You can't just have everyone drive in 100 runs, okay?
If everyone drove in 100 runs, nobody would ever get out.
Sounds like a really good team.
Here's the thing.
OPS-wise, Pete Alonzo 861, Bush 846, Freeman 874, Harper 855, Matt Olson, 821.
They're all in the same vicinity.
That's what, so I guess that was a roundabout horrible way
for me saying, there's only one number between these five guys
that jumps off the screen to me.
And it's the RBI.
That, like, I realize we view that stat differently now.
But I don't want to take away from what that stat still represents.
Like, that you swung your bat, run scored.
110 of them compared to 76 76 6377 what else is different
I told you I got I got Bush and I got Alonzo and I'm I'm leaning
Alonzo I'm going Pete if you want to lock in Bush we could if we bring it oh wow the
snaps are out I love me some Pete I love me some Bush but
meat eater Pete
70s are over
Congrats to Pete
Alans
I mean
this is going to be so ugly
come the end of the year
That's um
I told you this is difficult
Hey let us know
Who you think should be
I'm sure you will
You see the graphic
It's always our
Most hated graphic
Except for my realignment plan
And our infield position
Importance be like
Catcher number one
no matter what my dude, shut up.
Can I tell you something?
I almost chimed in there because I think we crushed it,
because I think that kind of graphic or conversation is going to have a lot of
internet combo on it, that the amount of people saying catcher is more important than
shortstop, I think it would have been 10% louder if we did it vice versa.
And everyone would have been like, how could you not pick short stops, bro?
Sorry for mocking all of your voices there.
Both positions, we'll just get into this real quick.
You can get by with a defensive whiz, both positions.
And then both positions, if you have a guy that can do both and they hit, it means a lot.
They're very close.
They were a one in two.
That's where I get mad.
People act like we put catcher at eight.
They're the top two positions, bro, slice it any way you want.
You want it down the middle, you want a diagonal.
I don't care.
It's still a fucking sandwich.
How do you like your pizza slices?
Traditional?
Yes.
Yes.
Sometimes give me a square piece.
Get out of here with that, dude.
Hey, make it a circle next time.
What?
So glad I asked that.
It's a piece of pie.
It's a piece of pie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And another thing.
Snap for Pete Alonzo.
Snaps for Pete.
The guy guy.
It doesn't get any easier, dude.
I don't know what we're going to do with this episode.
Second base, Brendan Donovan,
Brendan Donovan, April May,
Cotel Marte for the sweet summer.
A little drama with the snakes.
What was all that about?
As we go check in on our second base position,
the fellas have caught up a little bit.
As Cotel Marte has played more games,
he's still OPS and outmashing these guys.
A defensive position that we did debate and talk about and what Nico Horner brings and what Bryce Terang brings with their speed and defense.
I'm interested to see if you're, are you truly chewed up by this?
Are we just going to land on Cattel?
I mean, Catell, best offensive season of any of these guys, no doubt.
But you know, look, if you look at Nico Horner, 23 swipes, Bryce Tarrang, 22 swipes.
second base is a position
I want my guys to be able to handle the bat
and run the bases and play defense
it's it's important
okay it is kind of like an all around
position
I don't this is one of the positions
I don't really care about
necessarily offensive output
it's great if you can
you know Kattel clearly laps
everybody in that regard
well Bryce Terrain
means to the freaking Brewers
it can't go
understated or overstated
or overstated, whatever that's saying is.
Like he just, I feel like as he goes, they go.
I really do.
I know they have a bunch of guys that can kind of step up from time to time,
up and down that lineup.
Isaac Collins has been great.
We just talked about William Contreras,
whatever Toreo's doing matters.
But Tarrang to me means so much to that team.
And they are the best team in baseball right now.
Cut the strikeouts down a little bit, bro.
You're not wrong about Tarrang.
It does feel like when he goes, they go.
He easily has the most a run scored, which I'd, again,
RBI and runs shouldn't be completely devalued.
They're important stats.
And yeah, Terang, you know,
the difference between him and Nico Horner is 11 home runs,
and that's probably where the strikeouts come in,
because Nico Horner has 32 walks and 38 strikeouts this year.
What?
he's the he's the best second baseman as defensively in baseball this is that matters
and that I told you the end of the gauntlet this episode how about this I'm gonna I'm pushing the
kattel marty button I think the offensive stats are just in another world that yes it's nice to
have that all around puncher of a second baseman but it's better to have katel marty I'm
sticking to that he clears
them by over 100 points OPS-wise,
25 points, weighted runs, creative plus.
If you're willing to push the button, I support it,
and I would love to throw this one to Jombino,
because this is like a baseball conundrum.
You're going to want to go Tarang and Marte?
That's what you're going to put out there,
or are you going to add Horner in there as well?
So just throw all three at Jim and see where he lands the ship.
I think one way to look at it is
if you were starting a team, who would you want?
Who would you draft of those three guys?
I think it is Catel Marte.
Yes.
Throw it to gym.
Okay.
As we wait for the John Boy's final decision on that,
we can jump over to NL Shortstop,
which maybe has been the nastiest position all year.
Francisco Lindor, absolutely.
Heraldo Pardomo,
maybe the breakout star of the sport this year.
Trey Turner, Captain America, Ellie De La Cruz,
Captain of the Universe?
Like, I don't even know how we label him.
That I'm scared to dive into these numbers a little bit.
Of the five names listed on our sheet,
C.J. Abrams is the only one that hasn't gotten one.
I don't think from what I'm seeing from his numbers he's going to,
but an impressive season by him.
all of these guys have 24 plus stolen bases.
All of these guys have 85 plus runs scored.
A certain amount of pop in defense that comes with each of them.
Trevor, I don't know.
Does this turn into what do you want to see from your shortstop debate?
Does it turn into who's your first pick in a draft?
Like, where do you go?
I mean, look, I think right now for me, if I'm just looking at the sheet and then kind of
envisioning the guy that I want it shortstop.
Francisco Lindor, awesome, leadership, all that good stuff.
Consistency, very, very, you know, he's, if we're drafting one short stuff out of this group
for a year, I'm taking Francisco Lindor.
I am.
I love me some trade Turner, but I'm going Indoor.
I don't think Lindor is.
is there when we're talking this exercise.
I think he's found his way out, which is fine.
I mean, he's, maybe not.
It's tough, Trev.
26 swipes, 26, homers.
I came in here ready to battle for Pardomo and Turner.
But this is just turning into an absolute, like, I don't know.
Trey Turner's been one of the better defensive shortstop
in all of baseball, according to the metric.
after being one of the worst.
So that's like, I love to see that.
That's great.
That warms my heart.
Offensively, he's had a great year.
Always stealing bases.
Leads everybody in that category of 35.
Next closest will be Ellie with 32.
So think about that.
Think about what we think about with Ellie
and how fast he is.
And Trey Turner has more swipes than him.
The only through August,
the only two guys with an OPS over eight.
are Trey Turner and Pardomo.
Here's a caveat.
Ellie's 794,
then door 795.
So we're like talking,
you know,
what is that?
A thousandth of a decimal point?
Gosh,
did that right?
Yeah, I did, right?
Sick, yeah.
Great.
Nailed eight.
This is difficult.
I do not know which way I lean.
I think,
I think I'm going,
Trey Turner here,
but I don't have a real good reason why.
I mean, there's good reasons.
He's still very much Trey Turner.
I'm going to put this thing on its head a little more.
Wait, before you do it, I'm changing my answer.
I'm going pro domo.
You want to know why?
Why?
The walk to strikeout.
When it's this damn close, that is exactly what I go to right there.
82 walks to 68 strikeouts.
The other guys that I'm trying to.
to talk, you know, Francisco Indoor, 46 walks, 117.
Trey Turner, 42 walks, 104 strikeouts.
And so you're saying, okay, can we get some homers then?
Is the slug there?
Trey Turner, 14 home runs, Perdomo 15.
So I think I'm going pro domo.
The numbers are crazy similar.
We've driven that point home, so I'll stop being dramatic about it.
But the numbers are crazy similar that it's like,
Do I believe in these guys having a good contact tool?
Like, yes, like 285, 300.
Yes, that's in the same realm.
Do I think each of these guys can steal a base?
Yes, 35 to 24.
They each have enough pop from the shortstop position.
I think the two numbers that jump out,
I shouldn't Doc Turner on RBI too much in this example
because we're, again, opportunity in the lineup.
We've done this.
Although I've used it when I've needed it for other arguments.
That's the tricky thing, folks.
Trev, the thing that jumped, 386 on base,
we scroll through this.
We look at the best players in baseball.
And we see a lot of 352s and 348s.
And, you know, Michael Bush, 344.
Bryce Terrang, 352.
386, that is.
Is the there with me?
That's what I was going to say.
I'm kind of mad you change your vote because I was going to get it out there.
I believe Perdomo has taken it back.
And it's splitting hairs.
In Philly, you can be mad at us.
And splitting hairs.
I love Tray Turner automatically goes into the fan vote.
Have we even done that for this?
The National League, I haven't even said it yet.
If we're going to split hair, it might as well be Trey Turner's hair.
What?
I love Trade Turner.
Can I just say this?
Maybe we'll have to cut it out.
Trade Turner investor, right?
Yeah.
Hell yeah.
He's in the club.
He's a guy.
He's in that John Boy sweatshirt that one time.
That was sick.
He's a guy guy.
That sticks with us.
Not on this vote.
Unfortunately, Perdomo gets it.
Trey Turner will be going to the fan vote.
Maybe Lindor joins him.
I don't know.
Also, underrated name,
Heraldo.
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I think there was a little bit of an American hurdle there, which like even coming into this season, I didn't know was I split in the G there. Heraldo Perdomo.
You were going to say GERaldo? Okay.
Don't you know the long time talk show host, Geraldo?
I do. What's his last name? RIP, I think.
Geraldo Rivera. Rivera. Yeah. Nice a mustache, right? Yeah. RIP if he's passed.
Rob says alive.
Shout out.
We'll get him on the show.
Well, now Rob's double checking.
Come on.
We're good.
Make sure he's not canceled too.
That's like another thing you have to do.
I don't know anything about Geraldo Rivera
other than like my grandparents used to maybe watch him.
Just one of those guys that was on TV.
Yes.
Dude, those people back in the day made so much money
because they were just on TV.
You get your tires change.
Oh, there he is.
Like anywhere where there's a loose TV, he was on it.
I had some hilarious conversation.
Nice.
Don't even know what that says.
Just broadcasting anniversary.
55 years in the game.
Wow.
Get Geraldo on this show.
Lots of television.
Good.
What is up?
Lots of television.
Good, bad, ugly, beautiful.
If we can do a Geraldo Perdomo,
Heraldo Rivera, like, interview at the same time,
that's the best interview that anyone could ever do.
We need to start using.
our powers for good.
Maybe that's it.
Third base, let's, we got shortstop always gets us.
Young Thick Austin Riley, we thought maybe this was the bounce back in April.
It hasn't fully been that.
It's been Manny Machado the rest of the way, which there had been some heated debates
because it's an interesting stat line from Mani.
But him and Maddie Chapman have been toe to toe all year.
they are back at it.
Max Muncie has an argument.
He's on the IL.
A Eugenio is kind of surviving from the grave.
I don't know how that works.
Are these numbers only from when he was in Arizona?
They don't include Seattle?
I think so.
Yes.
I think I think Dalton has left the ghost of Aalienno.
It's just too much.
It's not your fault, bro, but you're out.
It's just too much.
God, you're such a Maddie Chapman guy.
We have a game situation on our.
Okay. Okay. I feel better after checking out the games.
It's Mani Machado.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Matt Chapman has some good stats on here. So does Muncie.
No, it's a good one. Hits. Mani Machado has 151. Chapman has 86.
Muncie has 72. Mani has more homers than those guys. Obviously, they're doing it at a higher rate.
But he's got them in runs. He has them in RBI. Okay. I got horrified for a second.
I think the ghost of Ehuhanio really
Yeah, he's
Not his fault, but also like kind of your fault, bro
Kind of your fault, bro.
You don't need a qualifying offer anymore, so you're lucky.
Actually, did he ever need one?
We looked into this.
He already got one before.
He already had one before, yeah.
He already had it before, yeah.
We think.
We think.
There's our research.
And now back to Geraldo.
The outfield.
Bum, bum, bum.
Junghu Lee
I remember that being a debate
Where were you when
Corbin, Carol and Fernando
Hey that Jung Hu Lee's looking a lot better now, isn't it?
Yeah
Yeah
The next month
Pete Crow Armstrong, Kyle Tucker, James Wood
was laying it
They ran it back
PCA and Tucker ran it back
Oh so this was a Stowers Tatis
That's right, we changed the fan vote.
I knew this.
We changed the fan vote because Schwabes and Otani is kind of a situation.
That are we doing that again?
Because that system makes things a lot easier for us.
I guess let's recollect our thoughts as I talk to myself.
We need a center fielder, which I do think PCA is still.
Okay, Trev.
Easy with that face.
Who are you looking at?
Yeah, okay, he is.
He is, he is.
He's come down a ton offensively.
He struggled mightily.
At the beginning of the show,
I showed a bunt with two strikes,
which he just did,
which I love.
Right.
That's called, like, thinking.
Ever done it before, Jake?
You should try it one day.
Rare.
Yeah.
He's like, I'm probably not going to get a hit right here.
I might strike out,
but I'm fast.
Fast. Fast as hell.
And he's been going through it offensively. There's no doubt about it. OPS down to 7.86.
The on base percentage never was high this year.
291 right now, dude. So like, look, we know the value he brings with his legs, 31 steals already.
The defense is world class. The offense has gone down extremely. But he is our center fielder.
He is our center fielder because the other names on this sheet are Cherio and Andy Pahez,
who are having nice years, but PCA is still above them.
So snaps for our guy, PCA, he stays at the center field position.
Trev, I just had a panic attack.
Yeah.
Because King Tuck had been a stable and then I just remembered his month.
And I don't...
What he's been doing since June.
Corbyn Carroll, what he's been doing.
that we have, I think,
Fernando, I think we have four guys for two spots.
I think we have to put Wonso, though, on this team.
I do.
We did a show this morning talking about what Wansow has been doing since June,
one dotting it.
He's got like 15 swipes.
Go look at the, what are the stolen bases for him right now?
26 on the year with one caught stealing?
That gets me going.
He's going to go 30.30.
That gets me aged up.
On base percentage is still there,
sitting right under 400,
but he's been crushing it.
What's interesting is since June,
the Mets are 38 and 41,
even though he's been one dotting it.
So he's trying to put them on his back,
but the pitching staff has not been there for them.
Although the young guys are here,
McLean and Tong.
Yeah.
I know I would,
I went Juan Soto for one of my other outfielers.
I watched his defense for a year.
And it is what it is.
Like, yes, it's not plus by any means.
The arm plays sometime.
Trev, this is, I, again, maybe cover years for some people.
If war was off this sheet,
Juan Soto would be a layup.
Because he has the Homer ball this year,
which again, that wasn't Juan Soto's call.
card necessarily.
35 home runs
is head and shoulders most of these guys.
102 runs is
Tops.
Talk to strikeouts. Talk it.
Home runs is first.
Runs are first.
RBI?
Tide for first.
Walks first.
111 to 116.
Stolen bases.
He's third?
Juan Soto.
So yes, I know what that defense is.
would, that's fine for what this gentleman does.
I love it.
Juan Soto's on.
So, okay, Juan Soto, Pete Kerr Armstrong,
it comes down to, in my opinion,
Corbyn Carroll and Fernando Tatis Jr.
Those are my two guys.
Yeah.
Agree or disagree?
I mean, Tucker shouldn't be like fully out of it,
but I think Carol has to,
to knock Tucker out where his stats are right now are pretty googly-moogly
moogly gosh 86 walks to 85 strikeouts for Kyle Tucker why do these guys do it to me
because I was about to talk about brown top tees junior right 81 and 108 that's great
for a guy that plays just like you know some of the best outfield defense in the world
and then you look at Corby and carroll 49 to 135 that
was going to be my separate and then Kyle Tucker has to go 86, 85 on me?
Same amount of swipes, 27 for T's 25 for Tucker.
Let me throw something out there.
Oh gosh.
Because we have a situation on our hands, straight up.
Someone's going to get hurt.
Yeah.
D.H has Shohei and Schwerber.
Shohei's about to win the MVP.
Schwaber, maybe the only guy that can catch him.
Last time we did this, we gave the U-Til to Shohay,
because we thought that was a funny play on words,
because he is a utility player.
We gave the D.H to Schwab's because he's been electric,
and we did the outfield as a fan vote.
If we do that, the only person in the world that should be mad is Trey Turner's hair,
because then we don't split it.
If we just pick an outfield spot,
then it's going to come down to Schwabber and Trey Turner for the fan vote.
So I'm throwing this out.
out there. I don't know the right answer.
I wish I had trade, I need trade turner's phone number.
Okay.
I just want it because I want to be able to work on that.
I just want to be able to text him.
And say what?
Otani's been the better DH.
He has been.
Right.
Okay.
It makes it easier on us, but I also think like, damn, dude, like,
Otani's been the better DH.
Like, so Swarber is getting, you know, a participation trophy.
He's had a great year.
Don't take that the wrong way.
Please don't clip that.
Whoa.
You know how much I love Kyle Swarber.
Love the guy.
But Otani's been the better DH in, you know,
practically every single metric.
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
I'm on board.
Trey Turner, I love you.
I'm going to get your number.
I'm going to text you.
I'm going to apologize myself.
Swarber, D.H.
Otani Util, fan vote between
And Corbyn Carroll, Kyle Tucker and Tatease, there it is.
This hurts sometimes this episode.
People think, oh, guys, well, sweet.
Right.
Talking numbers, dude, you try.
This isn't sometimes the fun.
It's tough.
Nick Pavetta for my pitcher.
I'm out.
Easy.
Steady.
Shout out to Seya and Yelich, who are having very nice years.
Sal Freelik, why not?
Trev, let's wrap up the team with the starting pitcher.

Treb's going full pension, piv.
No, I think, uh, Treb, I actually do think the discussion has
gently been taken out of this and
again it puts me in a weird spot
because I know we talk about it. I know I've even joked about
his last name a lot this year.
What Skeens is doing is Looney Tunes.
That's all you got?
I was going to say some of the stats, but I don't know.
I also, I can't see you on the screen.
So I was trying to look for facial cues and I lost you.
Now I got you.
No, I think Skeens has been the best pitcher in the National League.
I don't think there's any doubt about.
I think Christopher Sanchez is damn close that he is going to probably be the savior of the Phillies season after Wheeler goes down.
So, you know, that's a lot of weight put on his shoulders, which he's been, you know, fine with those big, tall shoulders that he has.
Nick Cavetta, best free agent signing of the offseason, probably one of not the best.
He's been great.
It's Skeen just has everybody, whether it's.
by a little bit or by a lot.
He is the best pitcher of the National League,
I believe, now I've got to go look at this.
He's a Silver Daisy Canada.
Oh.
He's not because it was Povetta and Wheeler.
So Povetta's kind of been doing it all season long.
That has been awesome.
Awesome.
Has him tied for lowest whip, I believe.
And yeah, Zach Wheeler did snagget in June,
and unfortunately we know how that changed.
Sanchez is classic case,
and maybe we need a code word for.
Sanchez is there, but he's not.
Yes, he is, dude.
He is, Jake.
Then pick him.
The FIP, which is what every pitcher wants,
is just right above Paul Skeen's.
259 to 245.
He is right there.
B-Wor has him beat, which is crazy.
So, you know,
there's that.
Pitching war I really struggle with.
I don't understand any of it.
Not even modern-day actual war.
I don't understand.
That's the one I've always understood the least.
Well, I guess I understand the power that people are looking for.
I don't understand the power grid.
Yeah, how about that?
Kind of crazy, right?
Thank goodness for the Pacific and the Atlantic, baby.
Did I send you?
I had a stoner night last week, and I watched a 15-minute video on how the Hoover Dam was built.
Hell yeah.
I think you'd really like it.
I'll shoot that over.
Can I give you a one quick thing that I, you know,
it kind of hurts my soul a little bit.
I'm sitting out there.
I'm hanging with Ila.
Teddy is in bed with Olivia.
Olivia's still recovering from her hernia surgery.
She's doing fine.
Thanks for asking.
I go in there.
I'm like, what do you guys?
They're like, they're into the show.
And like, you know, let's a big age range there.
Like, what show are you watching?
It's freaking Chris Hemsworth.
doing some, like, challenge, you know?
He's, like, going all around the world.
He's playing drums for Ed Shear and Teddy's like,
oh, this guy's so cool.
Olivia's like, oh, he's so hot.
I'm like, this is.
Your nightmare.
I was a pro ball player, guys.
The only thing Trevor Ploff wants,
the only thing Trevor wants in this life
is for his wife to think he's hot.
And to walk in on him watching Hemsworth.
That's, I'm sorry you had to see that.
Do you know what, though?
feel better and I think she just knew to say this.
I said, you know what, Liv, I'm on my fitness kick right now.
Right.
I said, Liv, I'm going to get Jack like Chris Hemsworth.
She's like, you already kind of look like Chris Hemsworth.
Fuck you, dude.
I've seen the Kelsey brother thing from day one.
Hemsworth?
He, you know, CGI.
We could CGI.
Helps him.
No, I'm not there.
I'm trying to
I have a midlife crisis
So what people
I'm gonna get in the best shape of my life
Gave uh you know what
If we want to have some fun with this maybe
Have live asked for my doppelganger
And we'll land on some funny stuff there
No she didn't say it look like him
She said my body was just as roped up as his
Yeah
Yeah
It's not true
It's not true
But what a nice wife
It's a nice thing for her to say that
She always, you know what I think
is like girls don't care that much.
Not really, man.
I mean, they're like, yeah, are you strong?
Can you, like, can you save me in like a,
a life-threatening situation?
Yeah, then you're good.
I don't even think that, I mean, now we're really getting into it,
but like, I don't know, dude, the tall, like skinny, skinny guys,
they're like, again, I get it.
I'm, you know, jealousy from the short stocky guy here.
But some girls, did that run Pete Davidson went on was nuts.
And like, what was...
He's funny, dude.
That's funny.
I realize...
I realize that's a card to be played.
And famous.
Funny and famous.
But when we're talking about bodies...
I guess it goes back to the bodies
and girls kind of not caring.
Like, if you have humor, if you have...
Maybe you have a pretty fate.
Okay.
Now we're just giving out life lessons at the end of those.
So are you going skeins?
Did you want Sanchez?
Caught up in it there for a second.
Snaps for Paul Skeens.
Snaps for Paul Skeens.
Hey, just so everyone knows, Chris Sanchez, we see you, dog.
We see you.
We do see you.
We also see Paul Skeens looking to have his second season with his ERA starting with a one.
And he's basically a good start away from that, which is just absolutely loony tunes.
And I have a text from the John Boy.
I asked him,
Bryce Terang, Cotel Marte, Nico Horner would love and all J.M.
He said,
Marte.
Yeah, I knew those.
He likes what he likes.
He likes what he likes.
I understand he loves cricket.
Sure does.
My next couple days are going to be all-timers.
All-timers.
All right.
So that wraps.
Let's give the full All-JM team.
I think Rob is filling it out as we go.
in the American League, Cal Raleigh, going for the full Daisy.
Nick Kurtz at first base, jazz Chisholm at second,
Bobby Witt Jr. at shortstop.
Jose Ramirez at third, Aaron Judge, Daisy Hunting,
Byron Buckson, Julio Rodriguez, George Springer, I love it.
Terek Scoobel, the fan vote.
Cody Bellinger, Vladito, and Mikel Garcia,
having an amazing year in the National League,
Will Smith, Pete Alonzo, Catelle Marte, Haraldo Perdomo, snakes up the middle.
Wow, Machado, PCA in center, surrounded by Juan Soto, and your choice of
Corbin Carroll, Fernando Tatis Jr. or Kyle Tucker, you can't get that wrong.
Kyle Schwerber at DH, Paul Skeens at starting pitcher, and utility player, that Shohei Otani guy.
Trev, it's Wednesday, so that means we have to wrap it up with one thing only.
It's Draft Kings, bet the cycle brought to you by our friends at Draft Kings.
Make sure you use that code jam baseball when you sign up at the Draft King Sportsbook.
Draft Kings bet the cycle.
Trev's wrestling the tech monster, so I'm just going to crank.
I'm going to hit the cycle myself.
How about that?
The single, we start off easy.
Michael Bush to record one plus total base on Friday versus the Nationals.
Jake Irvin's supposed to get the start, and Michael Bush, four for eight versus him with a double and a Homa.
The double, let's stay Centrale.
Freddie Peralta gets his MLB leading 17th win.
Okay, Freddie.
Vers the Phillies.
Peralta's 4-0 with a 032 ERA and 5 starts since the beginning of August.
Jesus, that guy.
Oh, I wish Trev.
I don't know.
Dalt might have got us here.
The Rockies score six plus runs and win
versus Povetta in the Padres on Friday?
What?
I might fade ourselves.
Pivotta at Coors in his career.
Uh, okay.
See, there was information.
O and four with a 1736 ERA.
The 2.64.
a whip. I've never seen that.
Whoa. Pivot.
That means over two and a half base runners per inning there.
Padre is kind of feeling it.
I mean, Tatease is out, Bogart's is out, Jason Adam is out,
Jackson Merrill just got back.
I don't know, Jake. I kind of like that one.
I mean, the stats helped out.
I guess that's the whole point of stats.
The home run, which, again,
this, don't shoot the messenger.
The Rangers sweep the astrosy.
this weekend in Houston.
Is this a prank?
Astros, snap their streak of scoring four runs or less at home on Monday.
It had been seven games.
The Rangers are four in three versus the Astros this season.
If that happens, it changes the whole outlook of the AL, the AL West, and baseball.
Go change your outlook.
Go check out draft kings.
Tell us what we got wrong so much.
But we love you guys.
We truly do.
Thursday, Friday, up, Jolly Olive.
We'll see.
We'll see.
I'm going to Barbados to compete in a cricket tournament.
Don't.
Like, solely our name.
Like, go compete, bro.
You know I'm going to compete.
You guys are, like, the Jamaican bobsled team, basically.
It's basically the reverse story, yes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
