It's good to see them. Some of our friends from Houston, a National League rookie. And Treff. You know, if these guys are all JM, a lot of them are going to be all-stars. And we might be seeing a lot of these guys in. Dallas, Texas, Arlington. This is Texas. Huh.

Watching baseball. Who? I keep getting that song stuck in my head, but this ain't Texas. But this is Texas. And we're going down to the All-Star game. Fourth straight year. We're going every year. We'll be at the Derby.

I think they're normally closed on Tuesdays, but they're like, whoa, John Boy Media's coming. So we're going to have a bunch of people there. And it starts out in the American League, because it's Wednesday. With your catcher and Trev, it's been your guy guy.

This guy would give you a friendly handshake if he sees you in Dallas, or maybe when he sees you in Dallas. Trevor, Poppy, you still playing? No. He knows something about it. It's been a long time, guys. Big Sal Perez, a huge part of Kansas City success this season. He has won it the first two months.

And, man, it's a two-horse race, and I'm excited to see where you land on. it. Shout out to a couple of the kids, though. Logan O'Hoppy has entered the chat with an OPS in the 8th and he plays some lights out defense. Conor Wong. Hot boy, too. Did the Red Sox win the mookie trade? Conor Wong is hitting 327 at the end of June. And 856 OPS, he does get hurt by games here. He played 59 games. While Big Sally has 83 in the buck, he just doesn't slow down. And Adley Rushman has 79 of his own. And Trevor, I'm excited to see where you go with this because war likes Adley. And I think, and I'm excited to see, uh, and I

I think defensively he has a slight edge, although some of the defensive numbers for both weren't, weren't anything to write home about. That I'd love to see where you're at on this. They're so close. I mean, I saw all the offensive numbers are very similar. I noticed the war going in Adley's direction. So I said, okay, it's got to be some defensive metrics.

I'm on savant right now. I mean, he's got blocks above average above Sal, but Sal's good in his own right. And then the rest of stuff is just kind of eh. So that was one of the guys initially I was saying, okay, this is going to be an Adley month. Right. But I'm not so sure now.

So we're starting off with a cliffhanger, if you are. I mean, the offensive statistics, Sal's got him in doubles by four. Rushman's got him and homers by one. RBI is 52 for South, 55 for Adley. walks 25 for Perez 29 for Rushmen 62 strikeouts 65 strikeouts for like they're so similar that I almost like don't want to dethrone Sal from getting a silver daisy I feel like that's kind of something that I'll look to in times where we have a decision to make but the war

discrepancy is pretty high Jake baseball reference has adly at 3.3 sal at 1.8 f4 has an adly at 2.9 and sal at 2.0 what is that? Because I played baseball my whole life and still don't really understand how they come up with that number. I don't know if the nerds do.

Remember when our guy, who's King nerd that had a panic attack the other day? Bill James. Oh, he's out. He's out. There's been many people. He's like on our side.

Slugging 474 for Sal Adley 471 They're on base percentages are both 350 through the month of June. This is When they're this close, don't you lean towards keeping the guy getting a daisy Or does the war number Take you off of them? You know what, Trev?

I knew this was going to be a rowdy up. I was lean and Adley. You know, one more home or a couple more runs, couple more RBI. Everything is by one or like two, so it's there. Strike out to walks, basically same. I think, therefore I am, a little Nietzsche for the people,

a central Connecticut guy. I think I'm going to cast my ballot for Salvi And the only other thing That this you might call a little bit of BS on this Sure there's the dethroning thing I I flip-flop on that So when Adley hasn't been catching He's been deaching

Which that's fine Big Sal has been playing first base a ton So I don't that's just a little more wear and tear on the body that I kind of came in assuming I was going to cast my ballot for Adley, I'm putting my official vote in for Salvador Perez. I like that you went first. You just took that and put everything, all the pressure on me. Sal's also 55 years old.

Yeah. People forget. It's like, high-ag, lean old guy here. I had a good chuckle to myself when I brought up the blocking numbers and Sal was good. It's like, could Salvador Perez be bad at blocking? He's too big. He's too big boy. Yeah, I mean, a lot of this might be biased because I just think of playing against Sal in 2013, 14, and he's still going, dude.

He's still catching. This is tough. This really is tough because, you know, obviously Adle is a worthy adversary, a worthy adli-sary, if you will. Did you like that? No. I'm going, Sal Perez. I got to keep my mind there. If someone in the comments can explain why the war is so different, I'd like to know.

Like, do we, do we know anything? I don't think we do. It's, man, when you go on the savant fielding run value, like Salvi kind of has them beat. The base running, I thought maybe that would be a, and that might be the difference. Salvador Perez is a, as low as you can be on the base running scale. well, base running value, Adley's 16th percentile. I don't know how much that's affecting games.

But Adley, he tackled Christian McCaffrey. Yeah. Well, Nikki Cass was at his wedding. Snaps for Salvador Perez, who retains his spot. And I want a little teaser for the people. If we do need a third deciding vote, Jamalama Ding Dong is around the office

that we might be a BBD rescue mission. We'll see. I wouldn't mind to see what he says about the catching position in the American League. If he drops, do we give him all the power? If he drops an adly on us? No, we've, no, that's not how it goes. That's not how it goes. Do you think this is America where you just can have as much power as you want as president?

He was abysmal the first part of this. season then just started getting it going and the funny thing is that was around him obviously doing the games and he never was like in a bad mood just always knew he was going to hit like he's been around the game for a long long time too i believe he's got 300 homers i think he got that yeah three 13 37 career war if the kids don't if you just if you're newer to baseball and you you know old first baseman carlos santana get yourself a little more well versed because he's an awesome career. We talked about his,

he, they wanted the move to catcher with a Dodgers, he didn't want to, he was going to quit and his mom said, like, no,

like you're, you're going to play, bro. Would he say hi to you? There's some rivalry games there, guards, twins. Oh, no, we're like buddies.

Yeah, well, that's, that's not true. Other names on this sheet, Ryan Mountcastle, who he hits, split some time

with O'Hern that kind of hurts him there, but he's been great. Our guy Pasquatch is sneaking up. Trev, for the last two months, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been bawling. A 9 OPS the last two months.

The war numbers like him, WRC Plus, he's got the batting average. The power stats are around. Naylor has him edged out there. So, hey, I teed it up again. What are you cooking with? This one's bad for me. I challenged him.

I didn't challenge him. I just said, hey, guys, maybe this guy isn't the one dotting first baseman that we saw for a year. Maybe he's closer to a 780 to 800 OPS guy because that's what he's shown the rest of his career. And I said, that's a very good player.

I'm not taking anything away from him. In fact, a lot of Blue Jays fans agreed with me. Like, that's what we've seen. Like, he's not a superstar. He's just a good baseball player. what does Vlad do?

Yeah. So shut your mouth. Shut your mouth, you soccer kit wearing loser. I'm going to go off right in your face and I'm going to take Josh Naylor off the throne and you're going to vote for me for the June all JM team. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm going to listen to him.

Trev, I'm with you. And it is funny how quickly it changes. 25-year-old Vladimir Guerrero Jr. With two great months is back on top as the best. best first baseman in the American League. It'll be interesting to see if trade rumors actually start flying around with him. And he has 18 war as a 25-year-old. That's, you know, Aaron Judge hadn't been called up yet.

That if the past two-month version of Vladia's back, we're talking about like, back to being a historic ball player. And congrats. And he looks great, man. He looks. I talked about it last episode. Sveld. It looks like a wrestler.

but I'm calling just a smattering of funny business. Yandi Diaz on his way, too. Congrats to, Vladdy. American League second baseman. Things get sloppy, but I do think the cream rises to the top here. Andrez Jimenez always finds away because he hits enough and he plays good defense,

but his hitting is actually below average. so you're out. Marcus Simeon, yo, he had a tough month. And him and Jose Altuve split the first two months that his numbers are not where you'd expect them. IKF has entered the chat. And his numbers look pretty good. He's been moving all around the infield for the Blue Jays.

He went nuts recently. I do think this lands with our short king, oh, Trevor with a tilty head. I thought Jose Altuvae was going to be the consensus. I do think that he's probably going to get my vote, but it is a little closer than, I think, him just running away. I think there is a discussion. I think you have to talk.

Second base is, you know, look, every position is an offensive position, but you want your middle infielders to be able to field the freaking ball. I'm not saying Jose can't field the ball. He's okay. He can do it. You know, father time is undefeated. Didn't you post, did you comment that on my Instagram one time? Look at me.

Sure did. Yeah. Marcus Simeon is the best second baseman in all of baseball defensively. It's why his B-War is almost matching Jose Al-Tuvves. Right now, if you're on savant, Simian is, you know, his fielding run value, 99th percentile, his range, his outs above average, 100 percentile. He's got 13 of those MFers.

Jose Al-Tube, on the other hand, 15%tile. It's got minus three outs above average. We know the arm strength has never really been there. But even some of his peripherals, like the expected stuff, like not great for Jose, but the results are what the results are,

Treves. So why don't you just shut up? Like that's, you know, you've got to look at stuff like that. Like, and we're trying to do our due diligence here. We can't just say Jose won it in a landslide

because I think it's a little bit closer than that. Okay. Yes, defense does matter, and that's part of all JM. But man. If Marcus could just get the bat going a little bit. 235, the on base percentage, 299. I mean, that's... What's going on in Texas?

That's a lot of dudes are having down years there that shouldn't be having down years. Too good of ballplayers, making too much money. I mean, that's why we're going down there. Put our fingerprints on this team. Maybe tell Marcus just, get his hands through. I'll be seeing Marcus on Sunday

for Luis because I believe that's Okay. You want his 317, 362, 810 OPS? Yeah, I do. Six homers, stolen 21 bases. Okay. He's a little light on the games. And yeah, I hate to do this to our guy,

but Marcus Simeon in June, 202-297 of 595 OPS. Renneville could find his way on the utility. We don't do that anymore. It's turned into a fan vote. We're we're sluts for our people. I don't like that. You know what I am going to start adding to my reputation?

Look at this ring. Know what I've decided? I'm a big fan of the Trevor Plouf. Yum. I'm going to start using that. Okay. You want? Do I say that?

Not a lot, but when you do it, it lands. It really lands. Taste of it. That he's hungry. Oh, God. This is this episode. Testosterone levels. Trev, I've got good news.

I'm not going to do my whole Jakey spiel because it'll come after and I'll let you ooze about the guys. Gunner Henderson stats, they got, there was, I think there was three times I got physical reactions from looking at guys' numbers. This was the first one. Gunner Henderson stats are out of control that I'll, I'll let you ooze about the other guys, but what Gunner's doing is special.

No, he's a psycho because there's some really, really good shortstops in the American League this year. Guys that have really come on. I mean, obviously Bobby Witt's been doing his thing. Carlos Correa recently has just been absolutely on fire over the last a month. He's put himself into this conversation. Well, actually, no, he hasn't,

because Gunner's been that good. I mean, Carlos, he's been the biggest reason I think the twins have turned every. everything around. You could talk about Royce Lewis coming back. You talk about Byron Bucks and having a good month. But Carlos started all of that. And it was with a Homer against Marcus Stroman against your Yankees. Started going to the opposite field and everybody followed suit, man. Beautiful at bats. But no one compares to Gunner. And I think he's the, I think if you take away Shohei and Judge, who I feel like are just kind of like on different levels. But the war is because he plays shortstop and all these things, because of the stolen bases, the war is actually. Is it in favor of Gunner right now between all three of those guys? I think it might be. For MVP? No, the war.

Oh, at the end of July. Yes. Yes. A judge has a six dot. Yeah, they're close. But you could say Gunner Henderson is the best player in baseball and you'd have some statistics to back it up, which is nuts because we have, like you said, Shohay and Judge doing historic things.

So that's how good. Gunner Henderson is. I mean, from the day I saw that kid play baseball, it was obvious. Like, he just is the guy. He is him, as the kids say. Yeah, I mean, we joke about the Southern boy sometimes. Yeah, I don't, like, this just feels,

Gunner, Gunner Henderson has put in a lot of hard work to get to this point. But it just feels like he's better at baseball than almost. everyone else who's ever picked up a bat in glove. And that's nuts. It looks like he's, you know, people say slow the game down. It looks at the game is so slow for him. Like he punishes baseballs. Yeah.

Like he doesn't just like put his barrel to the ball. Like it's like it's on a tee for him when he swings. It's beautiful. He's beautiful. Can I say something? Sure. And I mean this in the nicest way possible. And also earmuffs, if your kids are,

listening in the car. It's been a big earmost app. Fuck the Orioles. Are you kidding me with all this talent that you guys have? It's not fair. I was a compliment. That was a compliment. Maybe if the twins wouldn't trade them, Yenny or Kano and Kade Povich. Yeah, we got Jorge Lopez. Team building player. Um, um, I met that in a good way. No, it's funny, dude. We did our... I feel like everybody feels that way. We did our bi-annual Mets, our Mets, and it's just unreal with grimace, and now they've got a light hitting shortstop over his career is now mauling baseballs hitting 400 and has like the number one song in the world.

And we're just, this is always the Mets. Jorge Lopez was this year. And that wasn't even like, doesn't even make our Mets leaderboard anymore. I love them. I love the Mets. You just pooped on the Orioles. I love the Mets. I didn't.

That was the best compliment that I think I could give somebody. They have an embarrassment of riches that it's like every team in baseball needs to look into how they did this. Because how could you not want this? AI, draft AI stuff. That must be what it was.

I don't know. Go re-listen to our AI episode. Trev, the American League, third baseman. This is a historically tough position for us to give out the award to and wow, Bobby Witt

got the award last last month so Gunner won't be able to get Oh, he did last month, you're right, yes. Full Daisy. At third base, Jordan Westbro... Gunner was the fan vote. Oh, okay, okay.

So Gunner has the pedal. That's huge. It's huge. Jordan Westberg you know, Oriole number 14, you mention as you go through them. He was the best third baseman in the AL, the first month. Jose Ramirez, often the best third baseman in the American League. He had it last month.

Hey, I want to shout out to our American League third baseman because Jordan Westberg remains on the list. Josh Smith for the Texas Rangers. Everyone else kind of not doing their thing. Yeah, it's him. Josh Smith, part of the Joey Gallo deal, balling out down there. And he's a big, he mixes it up on social media and content.

We like that. Esauk Parades haven't seen us in the same locker room. Rafael Devers, whose OPS is in the nines, and Jose Ramirez. Trev this Per usual you can cut this up up a lot of different ways but it feels like we're landing on the same cat

Is he a cat? A little bit He's cat like that You never seen you two in the same room either Yeah A lot of the same clothing for me and J-Ram Yeah Look Devers deserves a huge shout out here He's been absolutely crushing the baseball

The Red Sox have been I don't know if surprising is a term I don't think so Yes The pitching has surprised Enough but I think they had Like a decent line of going into the year

I guess the guys that are doing Okay maybe surprising is the right word But Devere's being good isn't surprising at all He's an absolute stud I love watching him hit He is like Professional hitter to the max Love it

But you look at all the stats and J-RAM is just like a tick above every single freaking one. I double. 16 for Devers, 17 for Jose Ramirez, 18 homers for Devers, 23 for Ramirez. 49 runs for Devers, 65 for Ramirez. Ramirez has 76 runs driven in. I think it's second to only judge in all the baseball. The strikeout to walk percentage is better.

15 stolen bases. Like it's Jose Ramirez here, man. And I don't even think it's particularly close. I think he plays a good defense as well. But let me go check up these stats right now. But my vote is for Jose Ramirez, regardless of what this tells me. Yeah, I feel like we've done this conversation eight times by now that normally Devers' stats are right in line, if not a tick better if it was offense only. I think Jose Ramirez's defense is consistently better.

I think the base running is a big deal. Jose Ramirez swipes bags. And that's not a part of Devers game. I'll say this. My vote is going to J-Ram. I think Devers is going to take him. Devers won dotted last month and he's coming and Boston is coming and that lineup's getting help.

You say that and then J-Ram's going to have 100 RBIs by the end of the month. Right. J-Ram 1 dotted in May. He only had a 904 OPS last month, so yeah. So both of their defensive numbers are a tick, or they are below average. So J-RAM does not get the nod there. I believe the base running definitely puts him over the top there. J-Ram, don't get old on me.

Father time's not undefeated. Turns 32 this year. Okay. Well, congratulations, Jose. Congrats to that short thick king, Jose Ramirez. And hey, Isok Parades, man. Good. Get more familiar with that guy.

As the months have gone by, you've seen a lot of Juan Soto. Mike Trout, Kyle Tucker. Kyle Tucker stayed, so did Soto. Aaron Judge joined the party. People forget Judge had a slow start.

You had a horrible April. Horrible. It was a 700 OPS for Judge. It's horrible, Jake. For him? For him? Yes. Yes.

He gets measured a little differently, literally. And if you don't know, Aaron Judge has been playing center field, which is... Yes. It's just, it's like the chariot. I already feel myself becoming an old man. Like when you're... I'm going to be 72, like hanging out on a street corner going,

You know, Judge played a lot of center. I'd be like, all right, right, buddy. You're making it a 72? Let the kids play. We'll see. That might be, if there's enough via gummies, yes. was on there with Jericho and Mike Talkman, the Sockman. Jazz Chisholm became our center fielder last month. ProFar stayed and Yelie made the team with some limited at bats, but at least they were dominant at bats. That Trev, this is what I teased before, and maybe this will be uglier than I thought.

We talk about if you come at the champ, you got to take them down. Jackson Merrill. in center field for San Diego, across the board, outside of stolen bases, has taken Jazz Chisholm down? That I think he's the National League center field,

and it's really a two-horse race with those two. I agree. I think what Jackson's been able to do this year, I mean, just moving out to centerfield at the big league level, I think needs to be talked about a little bit more. We talk about Mookie Betts going from the outfield into the infield, but he just gave him so much praise. I mean, center fields

they didn't easy to go out there. You know, that's a big boy position where, you know, you're expected to go get things, go run the ball down. He's been able to do that. So I think Jackson's definitely our center fielder, and I don't know if he's going to let it go the rest of the year. So snaps for

Jackson's center field. It does get a little hairy here. I think I will still cast my vote for a jerks and pro far to have one of the spots in the outfield? Same. Same. He's still, he's been incredible. It's, he's had some moments. Like, it's hard to deny what he's meant to the Padres. So you've got two, possibly the entire Padres Outfield might get an award this month. Who had that in March? It's, it's not nuts. Um,

yeah, ProFar stays. He has the highest OPS. Him and belly, or him and Yelly are belly to belly, but Jerks and ProFar has almost 30 more games than Yelly. That I think ProFar is an easy. I think I just have castes my vote for him. He's got the walks. He's got more runs driven in. He's got more runs scored. He's got more homers than Yelly, less one, less than Tautis. The extra base hits are right there. The games played are similar

to Yelly, but the numbers in those games played are just better. He also gets hit by the pitch a lot more, which helps the OVP a little bit. This has been July, but have you seen what this week has been for him not talking about statistics? Nemo?
