Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
It's that time of the month.
It's all JM.
We're giving out pedals.
God, some new names.
A rookie?
Hello and welcome to talking baseball.
I'll tell you what.
Sometimes I think all JM's going to get ugly.
Sometimes I think it's going to be grindy.
I think we're locked in today.
Hello and welcome to talking baseball presented to you by Seatgeek.
Trev has the soccer jersey summer is back.
Soccer kit, excuse me.
I've got my cult leader shirt on.
Went to see Yangs versus Reds last night.
You know, entertaining clients, the only way I know how.
You know, still one or two Casamigos in the system.
Trev, how are you?
I should have recognized that look.
a little too much casamigos for my guide there.
I don't know about Colt Leader.
I got like,
you went to the beach.
That's a linen thing and the hair is a little long.
Like,
he stayed a little too long on vacation.
That's what I got for you.
A guy who went to Santorini
and then spun off a final day
Wimbledon trip and everyone's like,
get out of here, bro.
Yeah, a little too long.
Go home and get some rest.
You're not blending in.
Fit in where you get it.
Trev, I'm excited.
Because I think there's some good combos that come through this too, perusing it.
Like, you know, early on, a lot of Red Sox names are getting some love.
And it's like, oh, yeah, they had a really nice month.
It's good to see them.
Some of our friends from Houston, a National League rookie.
And Treff.
You know, if these guys are all JM, a lot of them are going to be all-stars.
And we might be seeing a lot of these guys in.
Dallas, Texas, Arlington.
This is Texas.
Huh.
Watching baseball.
Who?
I keep getting that song stuck in my head, but this ain't Texas.
But this is Texas.
And we're going down to the All-Star game.
Fourth straight year.
We're going every year.
We'll be at the Derby.
And if you don't know, the day of, we host our own event.
It's at Community Brewing in Dallas.
and I think we have the whole building to ourselves.
I think they're normally closed on Tuesdays,
but they're like, whoa, John Boy Media's coming.
So we're going to have a bunch of people there.
Trevor Ploof, Chris Rose,
Joe's McFly, Shelfy, we got ice, BBD,
we're going to have the whole jam crew there.
Jimmy might be, I don't know.
I can't guarantee that.
I think he's trying to, though.
It's one of the most fun things we do every year.
I think our VIP tickets are sold out.
There might be a couple left.
But we do a live show.
We hang out.
We have fun during the game.
If you're going to be in the DFW area,
come through shop.jomboimedia.com.
There's a link in the description.
It's one of the most fun things we do every year.
I can't wait for it.
And I also forgot that you had a brief stay in Dallas.
Basically a local.
Can't wait to take you out and have you show me around.
A lot old flames.
Jamie, don't come out.
Dad's got a ring now.
Oh my God.
She was emotional.
Hey, let me say this.
What?
Kind of looking through the previous selections here.
People that are up for the silver daisy still have everything there.
Some of those guys are going to be disappointed today.
Wow.
Wow.
And it starts out in the American League, because it's Wednesday.
With your catcher and Trev, it's been your guy guy.
This guy would give you a friendly handshake if he sees you in Dallas,
or maybe when he sees you in Dallas.
Trevor, Poppy, you still playing?
No.
He knows something about it.
It's been a long time, guys.
Big Sal Perez, a huge part of Kansas City success this season.
He has won it the first two months.
And, man, it's a two-horse race,
and I'm excited to see where you land on.
it. Shout out to a couple of the kids, though. Logan O'Hoppy has entered the chat with an OPS in the
8th and he plays some lights out defense. Conor Wong.
Hot boy, too. Did the Red Sox win the mookie trade? Conor Wong is hitting 327 at the end of
June. And 856 OPS, he does get hurt by games here. He played 59 games. While Big Sally has
83 in the buck, he just doesn't slow down. And Adley Rushman has 79 of his own. And Trevor,
I'm excited to see where you go with this because war likes Adley. And I think, and I'm excited to see, uh, and I
I think defensively he has a slight edge,
although some of the defensive numbers for both weren't,
weren't anything to write home about.
That I'd love to see where you're at on this.
They're so close.
I mean, I saw all the offensive numbers are very similar.
I noticed the war going in Adley's direction.
So I said, okay, it's got to be some defensive metrics.
I'm on savant right now.
I mean, he's got blocks above average above Sal,
but Sal's good in his own right.
And then the rest of stuff is just kind of eh.
So that was one of the guys initially I was saying,
okay, this is going to be an Adley month.
Right.
But I'm not so sure now.
So we're starting off with a cliffhanger, if you are.
I mean, the offensive statistics,
Sal's got him in doubles by four.
Rushman's got him and homers by one.
RBI is 52 for South, 55 for Adley.
walks 25 for Perez 29 for Rushmen 62 strikeouts 65 strikeouts for like they're so similar
that I almost like don't want to dethrone Sal from getting a silver daisy I feel like that's
kind of something that I'll look to in times where we have a decision to make but the war
discrepancy is pretty high Jake baseball reference has adly at 3.3 sal at 1.8
f4 has an adly at 2.9 and sal at 2.0
what is that?
Because I played baseball
my whole life
and still don't really understand
how they come up with that number.
I don't know if the nerds do.
Remember when our guy,
who's King nerd that had a panic attack
the other day?
Bill James.
Oh, he's out.
He's out.
There's been many people.
He's like on our side.
He's literally, he's a cult leader
that like,
I think he's back on the call off our side.
I think he came up.
Hmm
Do you want to keep going for the full year with Salvi?
Man, his survival.
But think about OPS 824 for Sal Adley 821
Slugging 474 for Sal Adley 471
They're on base percentages are both 350 through the month of June.
This is
When they're this close, don't you lean towards keeping the guy
getting a daisy
Or does the war number
Take you off of them?
You know what, Trev?
I knew this was going to be a rowdy up.
I was lean and Adley.
You know, one more home or a couple more runs,
couple more RBI.
Everything is by one or like two, so it's there.
Strike out to walks, basically same.
I think, therefore I am,
a little Nietzsche for the people,
a central Connecticut guy.
I think I'm going to cast my ballot for Salvi
And the only other thing
That this you might call a little bit of BS on this
Sure there's the dethroning thing
I I flip-flop on that
So when Adley hasn't been catching
He's been deaching
Which that's fine
Big Sal has been playing first base a ton
So I don't that's just a little more wear and tear on the body
that I kind of came in assuming I was going to cast my ballot for Adley,
I'm putting my official vote in for Salvador Perez.
I like that you went first.
You just took that and put everything, all the pressure on me.
Sal's also 55 years old.
Yeah.
People forget.
It's like, high-ag, lean old guy here.
I had a good chuckle to myself when I brought up the blocking numbers and Sal was good.
It's like, could Salvador Perez be bad at blocking?
He's too big.
He's too big boy.
Yeah, I mean, a lot of this might be biased because I just think of playing against Sal in 2013, 14, and he's still going, dude.
He's still catching.
This is tough.
This really is tough because, you know, obviously Adle is a worthy adversary, a worthy adli-sary, if you will.
Did you like that?
No.
I'm going, Sal Perez.
I got to keep my mind there.
If someone in the comments can explain why the war is so different, I'd like to know.
Like, do we, do we know anything?
I don't think we do.
It's, man, when you go on the savant fielding run value, like Salvi kind of has them beat.
The base running, I thought maybe that would be a, and that might be the difference.
Salvador Perez is a, as low as you can be on the base running scale.
well, base running value,
Adley's 16th percentile.
I don't know how much that's affecting games.
But Adley, he tackled Christian McCaffrey.
Yeah.
Well, Nikki Cass was at his wedding.
Snaps for Salvador Perez,
who retains his spot.
And I want a little teaser for the people.
If we do need a third deciding vote,
Jamalama Ding Dong is around the office
that we might be a BBD rescue mission.
We'll see.
I wouldn't mind to see what he says about the catching position in the American League.
If he drops, do we give him all the power?
If he drops an adly on us?
No, we've, no, that's not how it goes.
That's not how it goes.
Do you think this is America where you just can have as much power as you want as president?
No.
Politics are coming up in the second half of the show.
It's Wednesday.
Congrats to Sal and sorry to all our Orioles fans.
that just got pissy.
And you might be right.
You might be right.
I guess.
Maybe you're right.
I don't know.
Hey, I try to convince us.
Here's the one thing, because I remember we did this last month.
The other thing that's interesting with Adley,
he's against right-handed pitching.
Adley is 242-3-10 a 703 OPS.
So the other side of that, when there's a lefty on the mound,
404-4-4-3801 daughter from Adley
So he's hitting 400 against him
Against lefties
Sheesh
But righties which you're seeing more of
Adley is around league average
So I don't know
Do with that what you may
But for now
Congrats to Salvador Perez
And O Hoppe and Wong
But Big Salon
Ryan Jeffers deserves a mention
He's come back down to Earth
Stop.
Trev, American League first base,
well, we'll see what kind of conversation it is.
Josh Naylor has held the throne
and the power numbers are still there.
Amongst American League first baseman,
his 20 homers still ring true.
Not a phrase for this.
How about your guy Carlos Santana making the sheet?
Holy cow.
He was abysmal the first part of this.
season then just started getting it going and the funny thing is that was around him obviously
doing the games and he never was like in a bad mood just always knew he was going to hit like
he's been around the game for a long long time too i believe he's got 300 homers i think he got that
yeah three 13 37 career war if the kids don't if you just if you're newer to baseball and you
you know old first baseman carlos santana get yourself a little more well versed because he's
an awesome career.
We talked about his,
he,
they wanted the move
to catcher with a Dodgers,
he didn't want to,
he was going to quit
and his mom said,
like,
no,
like you're,
you're going to play,
bro.
Would he say hi to you?
There's some rivalry games there,
guards, twins.
Oh, no,
we're like buddies.
Yeah,
well,
that's,
that's not true.
Other names on this sheet,
Ryan Mountcastle,
who he hits,
split some time
with O'Hern
that kind of hurts him there,
but he's been great.
Our guy Pasquatch is sneaking up.
Trev, for the last two months,
Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
has been bawling.
A 9 OPS the last two months.
The war numbers like him, WRC Plus,
he's got the batting average.
The power stats are around.
Naylor has him edged out there.
So, hey, I teed it up again.
What are you cooking with?
This one's bad for me.
I challenged him.
I didn't challenge him.
I just said,
hey, guys,
maybe this guy isn't the one dotting first baseman that we saw for a year.
Maybe he's closer to a 780 to 800 OPS guy
because that's what he's shown the rest of his career.
And I said,
that's a very good player.
I'm not taking anything away from him.
In fact,
a lot of Blue Jays fans agreed with me.
Like,
that's what we've seen.
Like, he's not a superstar.
He's just a good baseball player.
what does Vlad do?
Yeah.
So shut your mouth.
Shut your mouth, you soccer kit wearing loser.
I'm going to go off right in your face
and I'm going to take Josh Naylor off the throne
and you're going to vote for me for the June all JM team.
And that's exactly what I'm going to do.
I'm going to listen to him.
Trev, I'm with you.
And it is funny how quickly it changes.
25-year-old Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
With two great months is back on top as the best.
best first baseman in the American League.
It'll be interesting to see if trade rumors actually start flying around with him.
And he has 18 war as a 25-year-old.
That's, you know, Aaron Judge hadn't been called up yet.
That if the past two-month version of Vladia's back, we're talking about like,
back to being a historic ball player.
And congrats.
And he looks great, man.
He looks.
I talked about it last episode.
Sveld.
It looks like a wrestler.
Hope he doesn't think I was like coming at him
Like I was rooting for this guy to be good
I know what I said I said
I said what I said
He said what he said
Congrats to Vladimir Garrow Jr
Knocking off Josh Nailer
Sorry Josh
His his platoon stuff is rear in again
And again I don't know what to fully do with this
His home and away splits are pretty crazy
And Cleveland has just been
A boom box this year
and they got rid of those seats.
And I don't know.
I'm not calling full funny business,
but I'm calling just a smattering of funny business.
Yandi Diaz on his way, too.
Congrats to, Vladdy.
American League second baseman.
Things get sloppy,
but I do think the cream rises to the top here.
Andrez Jimenez always finds away
because he hits enough and he plays good defense,
but his hitting is actually below average.
so you're out.
Marcus Simeon, yo, he had a tough month.
And him and Jose Altuve split the first two months
that his numbers are not where you'd expect them.
IKF has entered the chat.
And his numbers look pretty good.
He's been moving all around the infield for the Blue Jays.
He went nuts recently.
I do think this lands with our short king,
oh, Trevor with a tilty head.
I thought Jose Altuvae was going to be the consensus.
I do think that he's probably going to get my vote,
but it is a little closer than, I think, him just running away.
I think there is a discussion.
I think you have to talk.
Second base is, you know, look, every position is an offensive position,
but you want your middle infielders to be able to field the freaking ball.
I'm not saying Jose can't field the ball.
He's okay.
He can do it.
You know, father time is undefeated.
Didn't you post, did you comment that on my Instagram one time?
Look at me.
Sure did.
Yeah.
Marcus Simeon is the best second baseman in all of baseball defensively.
It's why his B-War is almost matching Jose Al-Tuvves.
Right now, if you're on savant,
Simian is, you know, his fielding run value, 99th percentile,
his range, his outs above average, 100 percentile.
He's got 13 of those MFers.
Jose Al-Tube, on the other hand,
15%tile.
It's got minus three outs above average.
We know the arm strength has never really been there.
But even some of his peripherals,
like the expected stuff,
like not great for Jose,
but the results are what the results are,
Treves.
So why don't you just shut up?
Like that's,
you know,
you've got to look at stuff like that.
Like,
and we're trying to do our due diligence here.
We can't just say Jose won it in a landslide
because I think it's a little bit closer than that.
Okay.
Yes, defense does matter, and that's part of all JM.
But man.
If Marcus could just get the bat going a little bit.
235, the on base percentage, 299.
I mean, that's...
What's going on in Texas?
That's a lot of dudes are having down years there
that shouldn't be having down years.
Too good of ballplayers, making too much money.
I mean, that's why we're going down there.
Put our fingerprints on this team.
Maybe tell Marcus just,
get his hands through. I'll be
seeing Marcus on Sunday
night. Okay. Down there.
Yeah.
Oh.
Am I seeing Marcus?
Maybe. We haven't talked about it yet.
We haven't talked about it yet. Yeah.
Chris Rose is seeing Marcus. He's begged
to come see Marcus. Oh, I love
Chris Rose at All-Star weekend.
I just said Chris Rose has begged
to come.
Marcus.
We are pathetic losers.
Jose Al Tuva is not.
Congrats
on making the LJMT.
So he
there was not a
Daisy.
No,
Simeon had it last month.
And yeah.
Also,
Luis Renhifo deserves a shoutout.
He's been moving around a lot
playing mostly third base,
but a little bit of second
and could be an...
He's on everybody's wish list,
this trade deadline.
Everyone can use a switch hitting...
Let's give some numbers
for Luis because I believe that's
Okay.
You want his 317, 362, 810 OPS?
Yeah, I do.
Six homers, stolen 21 bases.
Okay.
He's a little light on the games.
And yeah, I hate to do this to our guy,
but Marcus Simeon in June,
202-297 of 595 OPS.
Renneville could find his way on the utility.
We don't do that anymore.
It's turned into a fan vote.
We're we're sluts for our people.
I don't like that.
You know what I am going to start adding to my reputation?
Look at this ring.
Know what I've decided?
I'm a big fan of the Trevor Plouf.
Yum.
I'm going to start using that.
Okay.
You want?
Do I say that?
Not a lot, but when you do it, it lands.
It really lands.
Taste of it.
That he's hungry.
Oh, God.
This is this episode.
Testosterone levels.
Trev, I've got good news.
I'm not going to do my whole Jakey spiel
because it'll come after and I'll let you ooze about the guys.
Gunner Henderson stats, they got, there was,
I think there was three times I got physical reactions from looking at guys' numbers.
This was the first one.
Gunner Henderson stats are out of control that I'll,
I'll let you ooze about the other guys,
but what Gunner's doing is special.
No, he's a psycho because there's some really,
really good shortstops in the American League this year.
Guys that have really come on.
I mean, obviously Bobby Witt's been doing his thing.
Carlos Correa recently has just been absolutely on fire
over the last a month.
He's put himself into this conversation.
Well, actually, no, he hasn't,
because Gunner's been that good.
I mean, Carlos, he's been the biggest reason
I think the twins have turned every.
everything around. You could talk about Royce Lewis coming back. You talk about Byron Bucks and having a good month. But Carlos started all of that. And it was with a Homer against Marcus Stroman against your Yankees. Started going to the opposite field and everybody followed suit, man. Beautiful at bats. But no one compares to Gunner. And I think he's the, I think if you take away Shohei and Judge, who I feel like are just kind of like on different levels. But the war is because he plays shortstop and all these things, because of the stolen bases, the war is actually.
Is it in favor of Gunner right now between all three of those guys?
I think it might be.
For MVP?
No, the war.
Oh, at the end of July.
Yes.
Yes.
A judge has a six dot.
Yeah, they're close.
But you could say Gunner Henderson is the best player in baseball and you'd have some statistics to back it up,
which is nuts because we have, like you said,
Shohay and Judge doing historic things.
So that's how good.
Gunner Henderson is.
I mean, from the day I saw that kid play baseball,
it was obvious.
Like, he just is the guy.
He is him, as the kids say.
Yeah, I mean, we joke about the Southern boy sometimes.
Yeah, I don't, like, this just feels,
Gunner, Gunner Henderson has put in a lot of hard work to get to this point.
But it just feels like he's better at baseball than almost.
everyone else who's ever picked up a bat in glove.
And that's nuts.
It looks like he's, you know, people say slow the game down.
It looks at the game is so slow for him.
Like he punishes baseballs.
Yeah.
Like he doesn't just like put his barrel to the ball.
Like it's like it's on a tee for him when he swings.
It's beautiful.
He's beautiful.
Can I say something?
Sure.
And I mean this in the nicest way possible.
And also earmuffs, if your kids are,
listening in the car. It's been a big earmost app.
Fuck the Orioles. Are you kidding me with all this talent that you guys have? It's not fair.
I was a compliment. That was a compliment. Maybe if the twins wouldn't trade them,
Yenny or Kano and Kade Povich. Yeah, we got Jorge Lopez. Team building player. Um, um,
I met that in a good way. No, it's funny, dude. We did our... I feel like everybody feels that way.
We did our bi-annual Mets, our Mets, and it's just unreal with grimace,
and now they've got a light hitting shortstop over his career
is now mauling baseballs hitting 400 and has like the number one song in the world.
And we're just, this is always the Mets.
Jorge Lopez was this year.
And that wasn't even like, doesn't even make our Mets leaderboard anymore.
I love them.
I love the Mets.
You just pooped on the Orioles.
I love the Mets.
I didn't.
That was the best compliment
that I think I could give somebody.
They have an embarrassment of riches
that it's like every team in baseball
needs to look into how they did this.
Because how could you not want this?
AI, draft AI stuff.
That must be what it was.
I don't know.
Go re-listen to our AI episode.
Trev, the American League, third baseman.
This is a historically
tough position for us
to give out
the award to
and wow, Bobby Witt
got the award last
last month so Gunner won't be able
to get
Oh, he did last month, you're right, yes.
Full Daisy.
At third base, Jordan Westbro...
Gunner was the fan vote.
Oh, okay, okay.
So Gunner has the pedal.
That's huge.
It's huge.
Jordan Westberg
you know, Oriole number 14, you mention as you go through them.
He was the best third baseman in the AL, the first month.
Jose Ramirez, often the best third baseman in the American League.
He had it last month.
Hey, I want to shout out to our American League third baseman
because Jordan Westberg remains on the list.
Josh Smith for the Texas Rangers.
Everyone else kind of not doing their thing.
Yeah, it's him.
Josh Smith, part of the Joey Gallo deal,
balling out down there.
And he's a big, he mixes it up on social media and content.
We like that.
Esauk Parades haven't seen us in the same locker room.
Rafael Devers, whose OPS is in the nines,
and Jose Ramirez.
Trev this
Per usual you can cut this up
up a lot of different ways
but it feels like we're landing on the same cat
Is he a cat? A little bit
He's cat like that
You never seen you two in the same room either
Yeah
A lot of the same clothing for me and J-Ram
Yeah
Look Devers deserves a huge shout out here
He's been absolutely crushing the baseball
The Red Sox have been
I don't know if surprising is
a term
I don't think so
Yes
The pitching has surprised
Enough but I think they had
Like a decent line of going into the year
I guess the guys that are doing
Okay maybe surprising is the right word
But Devere's being good isn't surprising at all
He's an absolute stud
I love watching him hit
He is like
Professional hitter to the max
Love it
But
you look at all the stats and J-RAM is just like a tick above every single freaking one.
I double.
16 for Devers, 17 for Jose Ramirez, 18 homers for Devers, 23 for Ramirez.
49 runs for Devers, 65 for Ramirez.
Ramirez has 76 runs driven in.
I think it's second to only judge in all the baseball.
The strikeout to walk percentage is better.
15 stolen bases.
Like it's Jose Ramirez here, man.
And I don't even think it's particularly close.
I think he plays a good defense as well.
But let me go check up these stats right now.
But my vote is for Jose Ramirez, regardless of what this tells me.
Yeah, I feel like we've done this conversation eight times by now that normally Devers' stats are right in line, if not a tick better if it was offense only.
I think Jose Ramirez's defense is consistently better.
I think the base running is a big deal.
Jose Ramirez swipes bags.
And that's not a part of Devers game.
I'll say this.
My vote is going to J-Ram.
I think Devers is going to take him.
Devers won dotted last month and he's coming
and Boston is coming and that lineup's getting help.
You say that and then J-Ram's going to have 100 RBIs by the end of the month.
Right. J-Ram 1 dotted in May.
He only had a 904 OPS last month, so yeah.
So both of their defensive numbers are a tick,
or they are below average.
So J-RAM does not get the nod there.
I believe the base running definitely puts him over the top there.
J-Ram, don't get old on me.
Father time's not undefeated.
Turns 32 this year.
Okay.
Well, congratulations, Jose.
Congrats to that short thick king, Jose Ramirez.
And hey, Isok Parades, man.
Good.
Get more familiar with that guy.
I wonder if he ever becomes a weird raised deadline piece?
Like, I think his...
I don't know.
I don't know.
That AL Infield was brought to you by new friends of the program via.
Yeah, Trev.
You're going to like, yeah, that was a, that was an exciting package to receive because, A, it was just a good package.
It was a nice package.
It was a nice box.
Good design, well delivered.

I mean, put that on my tombstone.
Covering all effects, strength ranges.
Has you covered for what you're looking for?
I'm excited to mess around with these because the mood gummies are always interesting to me.
Some of them, I think one of them has some love stuff on the label.
I don't know.
A lot of fireworks this weekend.
Some focus gummies.
You know I need that.

Do you ever have the hemp necklace, Trev?
No
No
Okay
I'm not a big necklace guy
I got a gold chain here
My bad that's this from my mother-in'law
Did you ever fightin?
I did for a little bit
But the thing of the fightings is
They just got sweaty and gross
Yeah
You wear them when you
You know I don't know
They held the sweat in
I thought they started to stink
And then people started braiding them
And I was over it
Oh I couldn't believe
Yeah
I couldn't believe
A hacky sack Trev
Never what the hell
necklace.
I don't even think I had a puka necklace either.
It's not a necklace guy, dude.
A little sublime playing.
The PluF family is not,
like my dad,
my brother,
not jewelry guys.
I bought my dad a watch for like,
not watch guys at all.
My dad never wore sunglasses.
He's a freaking sike.
Wow.
He works outside,
in the sun,
cleaning pools,
reflection.
That's a pool guy.
Doesn't wear sunglasses.
That's crazy.
Weird.
Okay.
I bought him sunglasses all the time.
Nice sunglasses.
It's never worse.
Trevor, the American League Outfield is a fun one.
Because as if you don't know, we do center field.
We require that we have one center fielder.
As the months have gone by, you've seen a lot of Juan Soto.
Mike Trout, Kyle Tucker.
Kyle Tucker stayed, so did Soto.
Aaron Judge joined the party.
People forget Judge had a slow start.
You had a horrible April.
Horrible.
It was a 700 OPS for Judge.
It's horrible, Jake.
For him?
For him?
Yes.
Yes.
He gets measured a little differently, literally.
And if you don't know,
Aaron Judge has been playing center field, which is...
Yes.
It's just, it's like the chariot.
I already feel myself becoming an old man.
Like when you're...
I'm going to be 72, like hanging out on a street corner going,
You know, Judge played a lot of center.
I'd be like, all right, right, buddy.
You're making it a 72?
Let the kids play.
We'll see.
That might be, if there's enough via gummies, yes.
That Aaron Judge will be your American League center fielder.
Shout out to Jaron, who I think there's more conversation to come with him.
Well, let's give Judge snaps.
Okay, bro, you're our centerfield.
Way to go.
I was worried about this a little bit because in the,
American League. I think there are three
clear candidates here. I'd also
say, let's go, Juan Soto
snaps here also in...
Fine. I mean, come on.
It's just be real here, people.
You know, what he's been doing has been
incredible. Stack the numbers
up, however you want. 71 walks
to 60 strikeouts is just an absolute
joke. Yeah. I think
the effect that he's had on the Yankees
team is you guys can speak
to it more, but when you have a guy like that
in the club else around
your other hitters all the time.
I mean, it just,
it means something, it helps.
And they're watching this guy go to work.
Like, it rubs off on them.
So I think those two guys are obviously going to be here.
Third outfielder.
Do you agree?
Yes.
No, yeah.
The only other thing I said,
I said there was three times
I had audible reactions looking at our sheet.
Judges slugging starting with a seven.
That's, it's not right.
The only two, the,
see, Matt,
veerling on this sheet.
Uh-oh. Uh-oh.
Oh, boy, Jaron Duran.
There's only two guys
on our sheet, and I believe in the
AL outfield that
have a one daughter.
And that's Sarin Judge and Juan Soto.
That's kind of what you want from your outfield, people.
I don't know if you know that, but you want that.
That means every single of bat, they're reaching
first base, essentially, which is amazing.
Basically.
That's what that means, yeah.
Trev, where are you going now?
because Kwan hasn't played enough for me,
although the stats are freaky-diki,
and I hope we're talking about him more coming up.
Our guy Kyle Tucker perennially on the list,
he's been out for a minute now.
The numbers are still kind of there
that I'll have any convo with you.
I currently am leaning Jaron Duran,
and I'm interested to see how you react to that.
I wanted to kind of go around the board a little bit more
because there has been some great plays
another Baltimore Orioles Santander
San Antonio
Unbelievable you Orioles
You are so spoiled
And your city connects are kind of fire
And you have a great ballpark
I'm sick of it
Wow
Jealousy does not look good on you
I guess that's exactly what this is
I mean
Matt or not Matt Holiday
Jackson Holiday is just like
Am I going to get a chance ever again
Triple A all JM team
coming up after this.
Oh, man.
And Kwan's done his thing.
Obviously, he's turned to his,
I don't know what you've got,
not his career around.
Obviously a bad year last year for him,
but he's built on his game.
Like everyone just-
They told him to swing harder,
and he's like, okay.
Oh, fine.
There's always people like that, man.
They just, this,
and that is where I love the data.
Hey, Steve,
just swing a little bit harder.
Yeah.
We think he got it in you.
Biomechanics say you do.
Okay.
And then he starts slugging.
He's still hitting for average.
It's incredible.
So he deserves a lot of talk.
Riley Green, pretty dang good out there, man.
He looked like a stud.
Matt Beardtie.
I'm not sure what his numbers are.
But I like watched you play, bro.
You know that.
Byron Buxton's come on a lot.
He's been.
No, he has, man.
Go look at his last month.
It's been great.
But I'm 100% on the Jaron Drain.
What's up?
What's in the,
water there in Boston. All of a sudden, you just have three outfielders that are under team
control forever that have really shown out this year. So we're happy for you. And yeah, he gets my
vote. I think it's, I'm sorry to Kyle Tucker. He was on pace for a Silver Daisy and he's not
anymore. Yeah, I mean, he's he's now 24 games back of Jaron. And Jaron Duran, he's set
the tone for that Boston team. He has the most doubles on the sheet. He has the most stolen bases
on the sheet.
And yeah, man,
left field, center field for Boston.
He's been leading off every day.
You talked about, you know, Soto changing the tone for the Yankees.
Like, Duran sets the tone for the Red Sox team.
Leadoff hitter, 839 OPS.
That the war numbers like him.
And I think if Kwan had a,
if Kwan had 15,
more games. It becomes a lot more of a convo, but he does not.
Snaps to Jaron Duran. Did you mention the swipes? Because I wasn't paying attention to anything
you just said. I did. I did. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. I was texting.
Thinking about your dad's sunglasses. He's crazy. That's crazy. I've become such a sunglasses guy.
I mean, partially because of Shady Ray's. And partially because I didn't appreciate them enough.
Like for me, sunglasses were just like a baseball vehicle. And then I,
I was like, wait, people just wear sunglasses?
My dad is a man.
You wear them just because sun's out?
Man.
My dad doesn't have to fix everything.
I think I've told a story about the grip strength with my dad.
We were at like just our baseball facility and there was like a Japanese group that came.
And they were, I don't know, they were just kind of there, you know, for whatever reason.
I think there's like some camp they were doing.
And this was back in the 90s, bro, and they had the grip strength thing.
Right.
And so they're ahead of their time, obviously.
Obviously.
Obviously.
Kicking our ass.
Apparently the Japanese football team just beat our Olympic football team.
That's tough for us.
Okay.
Anyways, they had this grip strength thing, and they were going around and everyone was doing it.
And they gave it to my dad.
And again, my dad's a pool man.
He's been whipping a metal pole around water his entire life.
If you look at it, he's got pause on like you wouldn't believe.
he just goes and essentially almost like breaks the fucking thing.
And they, the eyes, their eyes lit up so much.
I'll never forget that because I was like, oh, my dad's a superhero.
They couldn't believe the grip strength.
It's insane.
You think my brother's big.
I don't need one of those viagummies right now.
Trevor, American League, DH.
Shout out to the homie Brent Rooker who took it last month.
And his numbers are still great.
He's a sneaky trade deadline guy for me.
If you're looking for a couple years of control
and you need a little pop at first base,
DH, maybe some corner outfield,
I wouldn't be surprised if Brent Rooker
is playing in a different venue
come the deadline.
He took it from Yordaun the first month.
I think Yordaun slumped a little bit.
He might have missed a little bit of time.
Guess who's back?
Yordaun Alvarez.
If you're wondering what's going on
Houston, Altuve, Alvarez.
Yordon has a 148
WRC plus
16 homers, most
runs on the board. A couple RBI behind, but I
think he's getting the nod.
Yeah, the numbers are closer than I thought, but
again, Yordaun just kind of has him beaten
every category.
Not too, not, I mean, he's not, he's not
running away with it, if you will, but I think he deserves the snaps.
And yeah, I'm happy to shout out Ryan O'Hern and Brent and even our guy, Stanton.
Yeah, on the I.L.
It's Jordan who also has more stolen bases than any of those guys.
Didn't know that was his game.
Four, no cut stealing like that.
Yeah, I was happy, a little teaser for the upcoming NL First Baseman.
I was happy to see Freddy's not just stealing bags anymore.
Like, sorry Dodger fans.
Like, we need to chill with that.
Like Freddie just casually snagging 20 whenever he wants.
Like, no, I can't.
Not my baseball.
Congrats to Jordan Alvarez.
So, I'll throw it off to you.
How many names do we think need to go in the fan vote?
I mean, Bobby Witt seems kind of like a layup.
Devers?
Bobby Witt's got to go in there.
I think Devers should definitely go in there.
Adley?
There's a lot of names that as you're going by
I was saying, oh, we should think about them.
Yes, Adley's numbers are awesome.
That's three.
Bobby Witt, Adley, Devers.
I think those are the three for me.
I think that's fun.
I'm trying to see if there's any outfielders that we missed.
I think Kwan could be it.
I think Kwan should go in.
Kwan and...
56 games.
I think Kwan Tucker.
What he's doing is nuts.
Kwan, Tucker and Kray are the other ones that we saw.
as I was going by that I was like,
ooh, I want to think about them for that,
but they're, at least with all three of them
that are a little behind on games,
and I'm willing to have that be,
why none of them make it.
I say Kwan.
Okay.
All right.
The fan vote,
Kwan, Devers,
Witt, and Adley.
That's a dream blunt rotation.
Treve, the...
We can make that happen.
The starting pitchers,
We've got five here
That you've heard a lot about this year
Corbyn Burns
Garrett Crochet
Halk, Lugo, and Scoobel
Man
How's your flavor of ice cream?
This one's tough
Crochet strikeouts are insane
And I wish I could give the White Sox some love
You know I can be kind of an ERA
Sloop
And Seth
Your boy kind of takes that
your Louisiana fake ID guy
He's got the innings too
If I see innings in ERA
That's kind of where I throw my arms up
Because that's what I'm looking for
And I just flex my biceps for the YouTube people
It's gonna
I guess it's hard for me to get past Seth
He's got the quality starts
I think he's got such a better defense behind him
Than crochet
Which means a lot
That's nasty work
but honest.
It's very true.
This is tough.
I thought initially I was going to be a crochet guy
just because I always go to the stats.
First of all, I'm a whip slew.
Okay.
Okay.
And he has it there.
And not by much.
I mean, Scoobel has,
he's gotten by a 100th of a point.
But FIP, on the other hand,
really favors.
above Seth Lugo
and that's fielding independent pitching
a lot of pitchers look to that
stat and that stat only
I mentioned that from time to time
so this is this one this one's tough
I almost want
you to cast your vote and you're going
with Seth is that true
so there's a lot of good pitchers
in the American League right now
sometimes we haven't even mentioned Flaherty
yeah
Renele Blanco saved Houston's
season essentially
Logan Gilbert had a
What was it, 24 scoreless, 21 scoreless, something like that.
Louise Hills come down to Earth.
Yeah.
Joe Ryan hasn't done enough.
He's been very good for the twins.
He's essentially become their ace, and he's hot, no doubt.
Really hot.
He wears hilarious sunglasses and, like, non-ironically,
that he just thinks they look good, which is...
He's a funny guy.
You know, I only got to meet him for a couple minutes there,
but he's kind of like a sweet boy.
Is he, though?
Hmm.
Anyway
Crochet has
141 strikeouts
where the rest of these cats
are sitting right
a little above 100
I know he's not walking anybody either
and that was kind of like when I saw him pitch early on the season
I said oh you're kind of erratic
but then he locked it the F in bro
he has been incredible
I'm Seth
I'm Seth
okay yeah the quality starts are there
I mean he's only had
he's at 18 games.
He has 14 quality starts.
Crochet 18 and 11,
but Scoobel 16 games started
at 11 quality starts. You can look at that.
Oh, man.
Like, Scoobel, like, deserves to be in this talk.
He is. He is.
And so is Corbyn Burns.
Like, all these guys are...
We've barely mentioned Tanner Halk,
who his stats are still fine,
and he won at the first two months,
but I think he's out.
Oh, my gosh. I think I'm leaning Scoobel right now.
Oh, God.
Didn't need that.
because the Ks are there, the walks are low,
the homers per nine I like to look at,
and they're all low for these guys,
which is great.
Opponents batting average are all around the same.
The whip, they're all around the same.
So if I'm, I want to vote for Scoobel and just see,
how do we figure that out?
We can kick it to Jom and say,
pick between Scoobel and Lugo?
Yeah.
I want to do that.
Okay.
So I'll, God, crochet doesn't even get a vote.
I mean, that's nasty work.
And I'm going to go scubel, and you're going Lugo, and then we'll have John
on the side.
I like that.
A little bit of mystery in this episode.
Sometimes you've got to keep the people on their toes.
I sent the text to Jim.
We'll see.
I mean, part of me expects him to come back and say like Corbyn Burns, but it's on the line
right now.
and so is the National League.
Yes.
National League.
And Trev, we've got a,
we've been cooking.
National League catcher.
It's always Will Smith.
He's currently competing with William Contreras.
It's not always Will Smith.
It's been William Contreras the first two months.
It's always been Will Smith as the runner-up.
William Contreras has won the first two months.
He has.
slowed it down.
A shot.
Patrick Bailey is in the mix.
Offensively and defensively.
Yum.
Offensively and defensively.
Boogity, boogiety, boogiety.
Trev?
I'm trying to get the Will Smith double out of my mind
that I saw last night to ignite the rally
that took the snakes down.
Because that happened in July, people.
That's not even.
I'm like a jury right now.
Strike that from the record.
I didn't hear that.
Never saw it.
How does that work?
Doesn't.
I heard it.
can't that's like that doesn't
that's how people work um
and when the numbers are close like this
which they are between contraris and will smith
and i mean kind of all of them to be honest with you
let's let me get in on some of the defensive
stuff right now i'm gonna go get it
so i'll let you get in on the defensive
defensive stuff uh the other thing that
i'm interested to see where this lands
William contraris had a really tough month
uh William contraris his OPS last
month was in the low fives.
So he was on, I thought he was on an MVP rate.
He has slowed down a bit.
Will Smith did not have a great June, 203, 642 OPS.
Patrick Bailey, are you our only, I don't know.
It's a dangerous game.
I love his defensive highlights.
Wow, Pop.
I want to go Will Smith.
I want to go Will Smith
And the overall numbers are kind of saying him
He's got more homers
He's got the same amount of RBI
But less run scored
Which is very interesting
I guess that's where he hits in the lineup
Maybe has something to do with that
Brewer's offense
And the Brewer's offense has been great
I guess what is Will Smith
This kind of moves all over the place in that lineup
And Treras has almost
the K percentages are similar
the walks percentages are similar
everything the OPSs are very similar
he Will Smith has an 805
everyone else has a 788 or 786
the wars are similar
there's a toss up Jake
and when it's a toss up you know what I do
this guy's got two months
this is not
I can't take the silver daisy
away
if the numbers are this similar
so I'm gonna go William Contreras
I think I'm going to buy an all-JM justice for Will Smith's shirt
Just because I can't think of a guy who's been runner up more
These numbers again are so tight
Contreras has played a chunk more
Which I always respect from the catching position especially
And while we're cutting up nothing here
Like the numbers are so tight
I can't believe I'm saying this
William Contreras
Five stolen bases, zero caught stealing
Will Smith, no stolen bases.
One caught stealing.
It's sadly William, and I think Pat is coming.
His games are shorter than both these guys.
This was a tough one, people.
I gave my vote to William.
Sounds like you are.
Yeah, I am.
Not happy.
Why not?
Be happy for the guy.
I just, I can't do this Will Smith thing anymore.
Will Smith has still never received a pedal.
That's nuts.
Never?
It's nuts.
Who's been getting them?
Last year, Sean Murphy kind of ran the table until William Contreras stole it at the very end.
2022, J.T. El Ludo and Lillaccio were going nuts.
2021, Carson Kelly got one in April.
Then it was Buster.
Buster.
His farewell to him.
Always the bridesmaid.
Never the bride.
It's coming, Will.
I know it.
He's got to be so mad about all of this.
National League First Base is brought to you by Tommy John.
You know it's the underwuse I wear.
That's it.
That's all.
I made an adult decision one day.
I said, Jake, we wear Tommy John underwear because it's our favorite underwear.
And that's what I've done.
Most comfortable.
It's getting hot in the city.
That means there's a lot of heat in different places.
And Tommy John is breathable, comfortable.
You're trying to get athletic.
you're trying to chill.
Whatever you're doing,
you should be doing it in your Tommy Johns.
And right now,
you can get 20% off your first order
at Tommyjohn.com slash talking.
That's 20% off their breathable,
lightweight, second skin underwear
at Tommyjohn.com slash talking.
I'm not telling you to do this
because the Tommy John people
don't want to hear you do this,
but maybe you, I don't know,
if you maybe live with a roommate,
maybe let's get one round of orders there
and get 20% off.
that, see what we're working with. And then maybe there's a second order with maybe a different
email. I don't know. I don't know. And I can't wait to hear from our account executives that
Tommy John doesn't want me saying that. But go get your Tommy Johns today. They're just that good people.
You're trying to help somebody get as many Tommy John boxers as possible for a good price.
Send me pictures of you and your Tommy John. No, no. They don't want you saying that.
No, do not do that.
That'd be strike three.
Unless you're talking to me.
National League first base, Trevor.
Pete Alonzo, you know what he does year in, year out.
He's mauling the ball.
Frederick Freeman is always here.
Christian Walker.
Let's start talking about his free agency that's coming up.
Unfortunately, NL First Baseman usually comes down to Freddie in blank.
And this year it's Bryce Harper, who just hit the I.
but he basically played all of June.
When did he go on the aisle?
Like a week ago?
I think he missed the last, like, game or two of June.
Let's see.
His last game played was June 27th.
So...
His first soft tissue injury ever,
he goes, I've never felt anything like this.
Yeah, right?
It's a little dramatic.
A little bit.
It was just a little dramatic.
It doesn't feel good.
Everyone has an assumption.
what a hamstring pull.
Anyways.
It feels exactly how you'd think it would feel.
Like, it goes like this.
That's it.
Harper has the better number.
Maybe I'm over analyzing this just because he just went on the IL.
But for what he's done to July 1st,
I believe he's been the best first basement in the National League.
I'm with you there.
You know, he played through June.
Now it's July.
Is he going to have a vote from us?
and his July numbers?
I don't know.
We'll see.
See how fast of a healer he is.
But through June, people have to remember,
this is through June,
he was the best first baseman in the National League.
So I'll go, Bryce Harper.
Congrats to Bryce.
For those interested at home,
Freddie Freeman sitting at 59.3 war.
So he's probably going to cross into the 60 war threshold this month,
which that's,
the air's starting to get rarer for Freddie.
And he's not slowing down.
157 OPS plus right now for Frederick.
Maybe we'll see you in a month, Freddie.
Snaps to Bryce.
Well, I think he was the leader in the clubhouse for NL MVP.
I wonder how much time he misses.
Interesting.
It's three weeks, I think, for him.
Trev, we've got a second baseman that is going for a full daisy,
riding high off the postseason
where he kind of got the flowers he deserved.
Cotel Marte 521 slugging,
B-War 4.4.
He is head and shoulders of Terang,
who's been around playing.
Terang's been incredible.
Great defense, great speed,
obviously a different ball player,
but the stats, I do think there is a gap.
Jonathan India has entered the chat.
Hot has gone nut.
doubles machine
and my guy
and close personal friend
Jake Cronenworth
also on this list
but I think all
all these guys are about
100 OPS points below
Cotelle Marte
I think it's Marte and Terang
I think Marte does get my vote
but Terrang is he one of those guys
should the Brewers just say hey swing harder
that's the off season
oh off season
that's for the off season okay yeah
I mean, bat to ball skills are there.
You mention the speed.
You mention the defense is incredible from this guy.
He's another one of those guys.
You just watch him playing.
Like, oh, shit.
But the slug is lacking compared to Marte.
Marte, sneaky one of my fair ball players to watch.
Yeah.
Like power speed combo is fun.
I like that.
Correct.
Bryce Terang, bat speed percentile.
Second.
Swing harder.
Swing harder.
Swing harder.
Come on.
Actually, you know what?
there's probably some brewers BS that's like swing softer.
And that's why he's insane now.
I know that specific metric when it came out.
People were doing stuff.
It's like, well, for some profiles, it's actually a softer swing.
You do want it.
The extremes are kind of good.
Just don't.
The extremes are good.
No, it's...
Unless you talk to Bill James.
Everybody now.
Bill James is on nobody's side.
Bill James is Dark Knight.
I know one side he's on.
When we do team profile and projections,
imagine us looking at Bryce Terang's 585 OPS last year
and now he's one of the best second baseman in the National League.
Congrats to Ketel Marte.
Those snakes might be coming tough one last night.
Didn't see it though for this episode.
Didn't see it.
Trev, this is a little sloppy jalopy.
We might be at our toughest part of the episode.
the whole left side of the National League,
because Mookie Betz was about to run away,
winning the MVP, playing shortstop for the first time
because he's Mookiee Betz.
We're not going to see him for a little bit.
Stats still play.
But C.J. Abrams, which we've been talking about a lot,
because he's incredible offensively.
I can lock that in.
Ellie de la Cruz, the power speed, freaky, deekees.
combo that helped take down my yanks last night that we're not talking about.
And Francisco Linder, just perennially doing it on both sides of the baseball.
Trev, a lot of ways to slice this cheesecake.
What's crazy?
I thought Mookie would be way behind in games and at bats and stuff, and he's kind of not.
Not.
For June, I think he's so clean.
He's right there with everybody.
So, like, he's not out of the question here.
47 walks at 34 strikeouts.
You know that puts lead in my pencil.
Gosh, do we have to vote for Mookie still?
So this is interesting.
Mokey was not on my radar for this.
I was fully prepared to say, look, I know C.J's been great.
Offensively, we can talk about defense all you want.
People every time he makes an error now tag me.
Look, this is why he's not good.
I'm like, okay, guys.
I just said he's not the worst defender I've ever seen.
That's all I said in that take.
I was very much ready to come and say,
Elida de Cruz is going to take this
because he's got 40 freaking.
bags already. He's dynamic.
It looks like it's all coming together, but Mookie's not.
Usually we have to say, hey, you're hurt, you're not playing enough, you don't have enough
at bats, we've got to give it to somebody else, but Moogie is right on par with all of
these guys. He's one last plate appearance from C.J. Abrams,
28 from El de la Cruz
It's bizarre
So here's
Okay I want to give you a couple
Because I'm not more hits than all of them
My initial reaction was us cop out
Give it to Mookie
And see which one of these studs gets it next month
My only counter to myself that just happened
Mookie since the first month
In May Mookiee bets at a 735 OPS
in the 14 games he played in June,
he was 208 a 702 OPS.
So since April,
Mookiee Betts has been
a round league average and hurt
that I think
I think it's time to pass it.
Sheesh.
Okay, I could get on that train
because initially I wasn't even thinking it.
And if you're going that way
and we decide to do that,
which by the way,
like, are we setting a precedent right now?
I don't want to do that.
I don't like precedence, bro.
I just want to go free.
I want to live my life free, Jake.
Everything you said about,
see, I was just showing another thought process.
If you think Mookie Betts
has been the best NL shortstop
till July 1st,
he should get that vote.
The numbers say he is.
The number say he is.
Then let's cop out.
Let's get people mad.
That's going to get people so,
mad. When was his last game played?
He played a couple weeks ago.
14 games in
June, so I'd assume
around the 15th of the month.
Getting the date for you
June 16th last game.
Father's Day. Wow.
Passionate.
Bad gang.
Okay. Let's just say an name on
three. I think that's
how we have to do it. Usually this helps us
out. Okay.
Let me look one thing up.
Okay.
Just real quick.
Well, I have, you look that up.
B, B, B, BD, can you hit the passing button?
Passing.
Your AL pitcher, all J.M, goes to Seth Lugo.
The text is in from Jimmy.
Innings in ERA.
I think that's me and Jimmy's analytics binder.
Congrats to Seth Lugo.
Congratulations.
Are you ready?
Okay.
One, two, three.
Ellie, Deli, Deli Cruz.
40 steals?
40 swipes.
His defense is off the charts.
It looks like it, but also sometimes,
I don't know what I'm talking about, apparently,
when it comes to defense.
So the number is supported as well.
I'm cut down on the strikeouts, Big Dog, a little bit.
I like that for you,
because you got a lot of Ks.
Feels like a next step for him.
111 strikeouts already.
You had a 30K percentage.
It's high.
That's high.
But when you're leading in homers,
triples,
stolen bases,
you can have a hole.
You can have a hole.
When you're that fast,
another 5% in play is going to go a long way.
We say it in passing all the time,
but he's huge.
Huge.
Like we say it and I feel like don't think about it too often,
but like same size as judge.
You know what, dude?
This is obnoxious and doesn't matter here,
but like what,
being outside Yankee Stadium before the game,
people were excited to see L.A. Dela Cruz.
That's cool.
He's a top five fan favorite player.
I mean, you see his line for his bobblehead in Cincinnati?
Yeah.
Like kids, like, I'm sure he's awesome on MLB the show.
We like a star.
He'd be like a star.
He, uh...
No, I'm not gonna say it.
Uh, congrats Ellie De La Cruz.
Trev, I think this is the last ugly part of the episode,
and it's your third base where you locked it down for Minnesota.
I've locked that thing down.
Philly.
Tampa Bay Rays.
Uh, Alec Bone was hitting early on this year.
I think he's come back down to Earth a little bit.
Uh, Ryan McMahon on everyone's trade.
radar that won't be traded playing defense. Also swinging the flat stick pretty well. It's not flat.
Joey Ortiz, Brewer's Devil Magic, doing it on both sides. And how about friend of the program?
Maddie Chapman has made the big board. Man, we got, I think NL third basement is going to turn
really fun because Manny is getting back in the mix. Austin Riley is going to have a second half.
our guy Jamer sneakily been been bawling for a little bit
what did the tea leaves show you
on the surface it looks close but I think Alec Baum is our guy
oh okay he's
one of the first two months
and I think I am setting up I just said I hate precedence being said
I think I am setting a precedent
that happens a lot to me
where he's if you win the first two months
and the numbers are similar the way that they are
here. And again, like, he's, he's doing it. He's got the best OPS out of any of the group we just
mentioned. Highest slug. The OBP is not necessarily there. He doesn't walk or strike out
a tonp. Put the ball and play a lot. The stolen bases are negligent, although Chapby's got
that seven to one to his four to one. Wow, Chapman's defense, I think it's, it hasn't
graded out great this year. If that was going off, I think we'd have more of a discussion. But I'm
to go Alec Baum.
You know, we've kind of joked about the precedent now, and we have had it a little bit.
Like, if you, it's kind of a, if you come at the king, you best not miss.
And they haven't missed.
I do want to see, I want to see Bome's month, because he's about, he's going to be asked a little
bit more with Schwabs and Harper both out.
And yeah, I guess for the Joey Ortiz hive out there, whose numbers are fairly similar,
Okay, Bome had a nice June.
8-12 OPS.
Bome has 100 more at-bats than Joey Ortiz.
So I do think that is significant enough
that he would be the closest contender.
If it was Chapman and McMahon,
I think we would bump into each other for a half hour.
Okay, this is cleaner than I thought.
Alec Baum holds the throne
and continues to pursue a potential...
Silver Daisy this year.
Snaps to him.
You know, you mentioned Philly guys.
J.T., Harper, Schwarbs,
T. T.
A lot of guys get mentioned before Bowman.
He's been one of the steadiest pieces for them this year.
You got a lot of guys hurting.
They're still winning, Phil.
Winning.
Travis, you know what else is winning?
Maybe you plan a trip to Philly
with Booking.com
Booking.
Booking. Dot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Maybe a setup.
You go to, what do they got?
Philly Live over there.
That gets a little rowdy.
That gets a little rowdy on some game days.
I feel every Phillies playoff run, we see some images from there that, you know,
if you're looking for that kind of scene, the BBD scene,
booking.com has that.
You know, when me and Trev take the family out and we're looking to relax a little differently,
booking.com has that.
We're heading up there.
We're heading to Fenway at the end of this month.
Excited for that.
Hey, maybe if you're going to meet us at the All-Star game,
check out booking.com, hotels, bed and breakfast,
vacation rentals, whatever you're looking for in any U.S. city.
Booking.com has it.
So go check out booking.com today,
an official accommodations partner of Major League Baseball on the site
or download the booking.com app.
Let me know where you're going.
I'll see you there.
Stop asking people for that, Jake.
Trev, I think National League Outfield,
which has been almost a little bit of a bummer,
has started to sort itself out a little bit.
The first month, Trev's guy, Brenton Doyle,
was on there with Jericho and Mike Talkman, the Sockman.
Jazz Chisholm
became our center fielder last month.
ProFar stayed and Yelie made the team with some limited at bats,
but at least they were dominant at bats.
That Trev,
this is what I teased before,
and maybe this will be uglier than I thought.
We talk about if you come at the champ,
you got to take them down.
Jackson Merrill.
in center field for San Diego,
across the board,
outside of stolen bases,
has taken Jazz Chisholm down?
That I think he's the National League center field,
and it's really a two-horse race with those two.
I agree.
I think what Jackson's been able to do this year,
I mean, just moving out to centerfield at the big league level,
I think needs to be talked about a little bit more.
We talk about Mookie Betts going from the outfield
into the infield, but he just gave him so much
praise. I mean, center fields
they didn't easy to go out there.
You know, that's a big boy position
where, you know, you're expected to go get
things, go run the ball down.
He's been able to do that. So I think
Jackson's definitely our center fielder, and
I don't know if he's going to let it go the rest of the
year. So snaps for
Jackson's center field. It does get
a little hairy here. I think I will
still cast my vote
for a jerks and pro far
to have one of the spots in the
outfield? Same. Same. He's still, he's been incredible. It's, he's had some moments. Like,
it's hard to deny what he's meant to the Padres. So you've got two, possibly the entire Padres
Outfield might get an award this month. Who had that in March? It's, it's not nuts. Um,
yeah, ProFar stays. He has the highest OPS. Him and belly, or him and Yelly are belly to belly,
but Jerks and ProFar has almost 30 more games than Yelly.
That I think ProFar is an easy.
We can lock that one in 314, 408 on base.
It's a Jolly Olive video come to life
that Jackson Meryl, Chirks and ProFar, they lock it down.
The third slot.
It's Tatis or Yelly, I think.
Okay.
Dang.
Yelling the 18 swipes really caught my eye there.
What is that about?
What's going on?
What's going on in Milwaukee?
They must be like, hey, guys, you need to get off the base,
14.6 feet off the base.
And I'm serious, dude.
They're swiping bags at a crazy rate there.
Don't do your Stanford voice.
I never talk like that.
Well, this gets messy quicker than you think.
The Yelie stats are incredible.
Again, the games are a little light
that he's played 22 less games than Fernando Tatis.
Brandon Nimmo deserves to be a shout out on the Mets.
War likes him.
It's always the Brandon Nimmo predicament of like,
wait, this guy's that good.
And I think he just went absolutely bonkers last month.
And I think that's also, you know, while we're out here giving love to grimace.
Gosh, you're totally right on the Nimmo train, bro.
That's awesome.
I think I just have castes my vote for him.
He's got the walks.
He's got more runs driven in.
He's got more runs scored.
He's got more homers than Yelly, less one,
less than Tautis.
The extra base hits are right there.
The games played are similar
to Yelly, but the numbers in those
games played are just better.
He also gets hit by the pitch a lot more,
which helps the OVP a little bit.
This has been July,
but have you seen what this week has been for him
not talking about statistics?
Nemo?
Yeah, fell in DC bathroom.
Oh, I did say.
Oh, yeah. Miss one game came in last night, went nuts.
He won off the bench last night.
He won.
He won.
I don't know how that.
Yeah, I don't know how I kind of missed.
It's okay.
A lot of these statistics are a little jumbled up.
They're kind of similar, but if you're...
If you get the magnifying glass out, he's kind of got both of those guys beats.
And I'm casting my vote for Brandon Nimmo.
Now, this is interesting, because I kind of led you into Nimmo.
I guess I hadn't, like, locked it in.
Also, our Pirates,
fans, if you've stayed through 77 minutes of this, Brian Reynolds?
Yeah, he's all around it.
A good month and he's there.
A good hit streak like that'll get you there.
Hmm.
Yelly.
18 swipes?
What?
Who is Christian Yellich?
Literally.
An absolute stud.
He is.
Get next to him.
bigger than you think.
He's a little bit more handsome than you think.
He's got a little bit more confidence than you think.
Yes.
He's like his white boy swag.
Quirked up.
Congratulations to Brandon Nimmo,
a guy who's received some pedals before.
I think those were center field pedals.
He's not been doing that with Harry Bader around.
But you won.
dotted, man.
And an NL outfield...
You took it.
An NL outfield that had been kind of down so far this year.
All the boys are bopping.
So shout out,
shout out Nimo, shout out Reynolds,
shout out Tatee, shout out Yeli.
Nimmo gets it.
Go grimace.
I forgot what happened to Mith
in regards to this award for 22.
Same with the Mets.
All year he had it,
Michael Harris, too.
Swooped in last two months.
I feel like all year that,
year we were like, I think next month
Harris is going to have enough. I think next month Harris is going to have
enough and eventually got him.
Sorry, Matt's fans. That was
Hy-N-O-N-O-Hus had a tough history of this award.
Highs and he's here this month.
Gentlemen, I hate to do
this to you, but Chris Rose is
a call and he has a deadline for an
interview, so I'm going to give you my last two
guys. You might have to choose the utility.
Show-Hose-D-H-H-Sah. Sorry, Sho-H.
Show-H is a DH, and I will continue
with my guy, Ranger Swares, and
the starting pitcher category for the NL.
He has the first two months.
There's some really good, really good pitchers out there.
But those are my two votes.
I think he's done enough to hold on to that.
Sale, Wheeler, Sonny Gray,
Rinaldo Lopez, low on innings.
No, Ranger holds.
ERA and innings pitch.
It's crazy what he's been this year.
Hey, help me get Marcelo Zuna,
who won.
our fan vote last month, I believe,
who has to be
not devastated by what
Shohay is doing, but we'd be talking about him
a lot more this year.
It feels like Marcel Ozuna,
do we put Mookie
back in?
Do we fan vote Mookie? I don't think people
will vote Mookie, so.
Frederick. Is it Ozuna
and Freddie?
There's got to be somebody else.
Zuna Freddie.
Azuna, Freddie.
Is Tatis's numbers good enough?
Bryce Terang?
I'll put Bryce Terang if you really want that.
I think he deserves
to be in the mix there.
I think that's it.
Okay.
Okay.
Thank you to everyone tuning in to AllJM.
Make sure you go check out Trevor Plouf on baseball today with Chris Rose.
Where did we screw up?
Where didn't we screw up?
Comment below.
Make sure you fan vote.
Stink.
You look good.
You don't stink.
I fought the hair a lot before we came on camera.
I tried out about eight hats.
Nothing.
It hit a point.
Nothing went with my culture.
