Second of last. I believe it was his only pick that got votes. But it was enough to be second place. I think three of mine had season-ending injuries. Nice. You had Springs out, Robbie Ray out, and Manoa season-ending bad. You had Castillo Verlander, Manoa.

Burlander out. McClanahan and Springs and both of them were. Wow. Everybody died. Everybody died. Springs was really good. It was awesome. Tell me who my first pick was.

You took Spencer Strider, number one over. Raw. You took DeGrom, Burns, so two guys with votes, Julio O'Rius and Dillon Sees. Julio Urius, dead. Yeah. Dead. Dead. All right. Well, who gets first picked? J. Ebes, because he won. Is that the easiest way to do it? I think we usually do a number, don't we? Wow. Soft. The strikeouts are going to be there. It's points. I don't think he's going to win the Cy Young, because, like, I think there are days he's going to get popped, and that ERA isn't going to be there, but the strikeout numbers are just so crazy. I think he's a very good bet to get votes. Yeah.

Well, Jake, he also added a curveball. Oh. So might help him get more innings. More strikeouts. Get more strikeouts. It's a great pick, Jake. Thank you. 281 strikeouts last year in 186 innings.

He did get votes last year. Okay. I don't, should I still take him? Should I still take him? Suspense is building. He had the guy. Now he's not sure if he has the guy. I don't know.

Been there. Been there. I did it. I guess I'm not going to go that route. Okay. I'm just going to take Logan Webb. I think he'll get votes. Innings.

Yeah, he's an innings eater. Matt Chapman. Matt Chapman's going to help him out a ton because he's a sinker baller and now he's got a better third baseman. Also, he got votes the last two years, albeit last year he came in second year before that he came in 11th, 260 innings last year, 192 the year before that. So I do think he's going to have innings. I do think he's going to be the best pitcher on his staff, which I think helps lead you to votes, especially if like you are like, you know, a hot girl surrounded by lesser cheerleader effect,

hall pass, watch it. So Logan Webb. And I love watching him pitch. So it's someone that I root for. I'm not going to direct anyone I don't like watching them pitch like I did last year. Okay. Fair enough. Yeah.

Two things on Logan Webb. I would have picked him. Maybe you didn't. And I think there's maybe some announcement coming up. Oh, extension? With Logan Webb. No, not an extension. Hair extensions?

There's some stuff behind the scenes working with Logan Webb. Anyways. I don't want to say it on there. I'll text you guys. Okay. Nice, dude. Hand replacement or something? Just in case it falls through, I don't want to be like putting it out fucking on blast.

Okay. All right. I'm a little iffy here because I just before the show was like, hey, like we got a couple guys in Wauke years. And like if you're in a walk year and you have like a good first like five months the season, like do you do you shut it down and like just play that game or I'm healthy going into my free agency? But they're both on like playoff teams. Like they're going to be pitching throughout September. So, uh, I'm going with two guys. Corbyn Burns in the orange. I kind of like it. So I'll take Corbyn Burns with my number four pick. He is number the second ranked

pitcher on our guy Eno's stuff plus list. 121 stuff plus. So I'll take him with my four pick. I do like watching him pitch. And he is kind of, I like his attitude. Like he's kind of got a little dog in him. He calls people out. You know, I like that about him.

And for my fifth pick, I'm going to go with a guy who I love, who I think is going to win a Cy Young in his career. And it's going to be this year. I'll go with Max Fried. Two guys who were just like, I don't know, the best pitchers in baseball, I'll take them on my team. Maybe that's like Boris's advice for them, like as they hit free agency. Like Snell, hey, Winna's Aoyang.

Or maybe because it doesn't work out for Snell and he's having such a trouble signing, Boris says, I'd rather you not, Max. A lot of pressure. I'm going to go. And the Max Fried pick is against Eno's rankings. He's actually 25th on the list. But I just, I believe in the walk here, there's something about. that we're like dude i'm i'm gonna go all out and be the best i can be so healthy again both those guys i like those picks yeah walk year trev nice yeah like there's a little bit more

focus in a walk year i think yeah a couple less nights out yeah because that's max freed's biggest he's always out of the town everybody knows that just a animal it's finally focused this year. It's George Kirby.

Whoa! Yeah. Damn. Yeah, Jim. Come on. You can't leave George Kirby out there. I mean, all the signs are there. Obviously, though, the cheerleader effect is why I didn't take him and I took Webb first. Everybody knows that. Yeah.

But George Kirby went from 130 to 190 innings last year. Does not walk anyone because he does not need to walk anyone. So I want to, you know, I'm going for the young horses this year and George Kirby. I mean, I'm a big Logan Gilbert guy who gets overshadowed in that. And Luis Castillo, I mean, he walks into the bar. heads turn, but I think George Kirby's the one. New York guy, Treve, you know that's important to me and his free agency in four years.

I did not know that, but I was about to say he's got a little F you to him. Oh, big time. So that makes total sense. Vertical approach angle. Vertical approach angle. Mm-hmm. Yeah, and I don't know. Not the biggest strikeouts guy.

I've got my, on a guy who has been a top five finisher the last two years. I think this could be the year it all comes together. The team is more uniquely in the spotlight now. One of the most notable omissions of last year. And his name is Zach Allen. Sure. Is he in a contract year or is he too?

I think he's got a little time. But I can double check that. I really is for Agent 2026, which means next year. Okay. like Zach, yeah. I like watching a pitch. I like his style. I kind of banged on his style at the Seattle All-Star game, but then I watched him more and he's he does it. It's his style, you know? And Longo says he's a guy guy, so I listen to my guy. Round it out, Beavs. Yeah, between two guys and I think I know which one I want. That's where I live. I love being right there. I think I know

which one I want. Another guy, who I think was notably omitted last year. He has received votes many times before. He's had years where he very well could have won the award. He is on a good team. There was a lot of innings. I want Zach Wheeler. Zach Rand for me. We didn't pick it last year? I don't believe last year he picked it because I think a lot of the comments were like, you didn't pick either, Philly. We didn't, sorry. But this year,

I've always I've had a crush on him before that I was I was surprised that brother Jeff Passon came out And said when when Glassnow has his healthy season He's going to win the Cy Young because I don't know Passon doesn't have to say it that firmly I don't know we'll see him on the first day of the season And one year it is going to come together And he's a freak show when he's on

So I'll go with Big Tyler Be good this spring so far Yeah The Mariners guys hadn't been good this screen Spring so far So I don't know if that That sparks the Mariners Just yeah

Am I up next year? You are Good looking guy All right. Pretty. All right. So to recap for everyone, the halfway point recap. I have Webb and Peralta.

BPD's got Yamamoto and the two Zaks. Jake's got the strikeout gang. Well, Kirby's not a striker guy, but he's so good, man. 98 on the edges. Doesn't strike people on. I don't know what it's coming with this year. Trev's got Burns and Max. Kind of a past guy.

Trev's kind of choosing from past. Usually, usually people think of him as a future guy. Typically a future guy on the show. Yeah. No, not this time. Yeah, these guys are washed up for sure. Both of those guys. Um, we're all the olds. All these guys are young. Take Scherzer. He'll bounce back. No, no, no. Not gonna do that. I'm gonna take Sunny Gray. He got, uh, he played second, uh, last year. It was his first time, publicly kind of taking the leadership role of the twins. Like he opened up in spring training last year and he was like, five innings isn't good enough.

We need to push ourselves to be better. His trajectory is on the right path, a 308 ERA in 2022 and then a 279 last year. He stays in the central, goes to the NL Central. So the competition is not like, it's not like all of a sudden he's in the whatever division you want to give credit to. And at least I'll say they got a lot of good hitters. And he's taking a leadership role on this team, the Cardinals. And to be a leader, you need to perform.

You know, you can't lead from the IL or the shit list. Trev, that's what they always say. So Sonny's going to go out there and ball and be the leader and not get hurt and get some votes for Syon. He was so interesting. I watched a lot of his games last year, obviously with the twins. He was so interesting to watch pitch because he would go, like just be absolutely lights out for like five, six innings. And then he would just lose it every once in a while.

He would just lose that outside corner and, and start kind of like walking guys, whatever. But, I mean, he was incredible. Like the swing and miss stuff, the, you know, the ability to get out of jams. Everything was there for him last year. So I like that pick. He's a smart guy.

And he's like a dog. Yeah. Like he thinks he thinks he's the best, which is kind of need that in your, in your pitchers. All right, I'm going to do I'm going to do my never had a Saly Young vote guy.

Never have you ever? Yeah, but I guess I'll wait to the next round to do him. I'm in between two guys right now. Dang it. You have two picks. I know, but I'm not doing two young guys. Thinking about Bobby Miller. Yeah, that's freaking psycho.

So, all right. I'm going to go a safe pick here, a guy that I think is going to get votes, and then I'll give my never had a vote guy. I'm going to go with Kevin Gosman. Nice. Who just seems like he continues to get better and better. The strikeouts are there.

The innings are there. Aaron judges out for the season, so it doesn't have to face him. That's big. And he's ranked number six on Enosaris's stuff. Plus, I told you guys, I like to go off of this list. So Gossman, the trajectory is there for me. He's been in a league a long time.

Like, how many years has this guy been in the league? Like, eight? Wow. Ten? I like that judge line. Yeah. Ten. I like Gossman, a ton.

As we said, I'm interested in if the defense hurts him. Also, he's a little banged up in spring right now. I don't know if he's going to have a late start to the season, or if it's going to be something that nags, but he hasn't thrown to live batters yet as we speak. 33 starts in 2021, 31 and 2022, and 2332. In 23, 31, he was Sayyung 6, Sighing 9 and Sighing 3. Sorry.

Sorry. So, yeah, that's my safe pick. And then I'm in between two guys here. It's either Bobby Miller because I like his demeanor on the mound. I think he might be like one of the guys to really step up for the Dodgers and, like, you know, eat those in it. and be that guy. Or it's like the nerds favorite pitcher in the big leagues right now,

Cole Regans. So it's a difficult decision for me. I like Bobby Miller's attitude. I like Cole Reagan's stuff. How many Salyong guys can you have on one team? You guys already picked Yamamoto and last now. Mariners have a bunch. Oh, no, Cole Regans.

Like it, Treves. Yeah. he's got the stuff to get votes. And honestly, like I said, people are like all about this guy. All the people that I trust, the pitching nerds that I like are all about Cole Reagan. So I'll take Cole Regan's. Lefty de Grom. Exciting. Scary.

I do think him being on that team with fewer, like, flashy guys around him. I think there's some stable rotation pieces. Make him a better bet to get votes. So, Trevor played it safe. I like the- I really want to buy Miller on my team. Still might get him. I like this guy's had a team.

True. Let you stew for the next round and a half. Where are you going, Jimbo? You know what? I'm kind of looking at teams that we haven't gotten yet that usually always have a vote getter. A couple rowdy fan bases still.

These guys you know, teams you know make good pitchers. Glad Trev took Gossman. Yeah. Someone was on all the nerds list, jollies, and Eno's, and then fell off. But came into camp 15 pounds lighter. Team needs a hero. Velo's backup. Has to make good. I'm going Christian Javier.

The Astros always have a vote getter. You can go Framber. He's the favorite. Sure. But that's too safe for me. I like that. He's always been a Javier guy. He's good.

He wasn't good that last year. He had Velo issues and release point issues, but early reports in spring, the velocities back up. Has he ever received signing votes before? I don't know. He has not. So that's your guy.

I have two of them now. It could be your guy. Doesn't need it. You can take two of those. Yeah. I might take a third. Uri Perez. Sheesh.

In 2022, they'd know this, a 0.9. 48 whip for Christian Javier. Yeah, he was really good. That's why he was on a lot of people's radar to, if he improves again, you're looking at a potential silo-old.

How do he not get Saly-Young votes that year? He started 25 games and had a 254. He threw 148 innings with a 0.9 whip, 11.7Ks per 9. What happened? I mean, Outshined?

Verlander had a 175-R-A and Framber had a 282. How many, how many, like, Sa Young boats are, though? Like, is there, like, a Sa Young 18 or something? Like, what does it go to? Each ballot is only five deep, I believe. So it's fewer than, like,

it's fewer than, like, MVP. I feel like I'll see, like, 11 as, Sy Young 11 as kind of the, you got one vote guy. In 2023, the American League, there were one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, twelve. Chris Martin

for the Red Sox got one vote. Felix Batista got three votes. AL 2022 was nine, but NL was 12 that year, so. Okay, so it differs. Something in the nine to the 13 range.

Each league. I'm building a rotation. Bailey Ober. And this guy is a nightmare. No. I was actually thinking about making that joke anyway, so I'm glad you got out in front of it. Might, Trev?

You might. All the talent in the world, he's got a teammate who I'd like to see go in this draft. Like Jim said, I got, you know, two strikeout guys. Strider Glass now that's what they're out there to do. Kirby's just going to pump in the zone and get you out. And I'm going to go with another guy. I'm going to go with another team.

and I'm going to bring in my first lefty, a guy that was neck and neck for the scy all year, and then faded a little bit. He just diced some dudes up at spring training yesterday because that matters. But this team clearly believes in this guy, and if they want to do what they want to do, he's got to do it.

Give me Justin Steele of your Chicago Cubs. Okay.
