It was the biggest ever jackpot in 58 years. I checked my bank every day and I'm like, is it a dream? Hey guys, welcome back to tier 4. I'm Billy. And I'm Lauren. And this is the podcast where we talk all things that normally stay in the group chat. Now today, it's a special day. It's a very special day for us.

Three years ago, we wrote our list of dream guests. And who sat right in front of us now is one of our dream guests. So everybody give it up for Kelly. Woo! Hello. And... I wouldn't clap. As you should.

As you should. So if people haven't seen your social media already, your tagline is from council estate to multi-millionaire. Yes. How did we get here, Kelly? Well, it was really weird, actually, because I did own my own nightclub, but I was with a guy, my little boy's dad that really badly abused me, mentally and physically. He went to prison in 2020. And I literally lost everything. He'd got me in about £50,000 worth of debt without me knowing.

So I then had to move back in with my mum and my mum and dad at the top of the pub with three children. And I ended up getting a council house in Kessingland. Then obviously he was in prison. Then I met, well, I didn't meet him. I'd known him for years, 21 years, my best friend, Aaron. Yeah, and we kind of got together. It was a massive love story like fell head. over heels in love with him.

And I am, I don't know if people know through my social media, but I'm a medium, so I speak to the dead. And I'd recently just lost my uncle Sid. Now, I call him my uncle Sid is actually my godfather, but he was my world. And so I was his full-time carer in the end. I had to do stoma care and everything. And he'd left me some money in his will. That was a couple of weeks before.

that was going to get paid out and I was like right I can finally buy my council house I can help my church like I've got something for my children now because before I was like I'd have nothing to leave my children they're my main priority and I was flicking through Facebook

on the 4th of June and I had all these slots coming up on my Facebook and I was like that's really weird because I don't gamble really hardly ever might go to bingo now and again or whatever and I was like Aaron come home from whack and I was like I need to go on a slot he was like oh yeah but do you and I was like I do and um I was

like should we open an account I was like let's open a bet for an account so we did um and we put 200 pound in and nothing happened so he was like right let's go to bed let's leave it so we went to bed about about quarter four in the morning um I felt like a on my shoulder so I sort of like right and I thought oh is that side so I grabbed my phone and walked down to the stairs, he, like, followed behind me. He was like, you're not going on that slot again, are you? And I was like, should we just have... And I looked in my bank and I'd been paid.

So I was like, let's just have another hundred, should we? And he was like, yeah, go on then. Put a hundred in, got down to £41, and a wheel come up. And it just said, Jack, and I was just like, oh my God, we've got to go to work, we've won an 11 and a half grand, bouncing around the kitchen and that. And he was like, Kelly, I think we need to Google this. This is not 11 and a half.

grand and I was like what and he was like this is millions and I was like no I can't be let me have look and I'm trying to count the zeros because I've never seen millions so I don't know um yeah and then we googled it and it was 11.5 million pound and I went from excited to numb that was just like I was jumping around then I was just like looking around my house thinking like is this even going to pay out like you know you hear of people winning on slots and it in like like Not in that like... So we were like, right, don't tell anyone. Wait for Betfred to call.

And then like, but in the end we rung them as soon as they opened. We were like on the phone. And then they were like, yeah, congratulations. Like we'll put £100,000 in tomorrow. Which, once that £100,000 went in, we knew. And then four days later, the $11.5 million went in. 11.5 million from like an app on your phone. And it was a £1.50 spin.

So I weren't even playing. Oh, right. Hope that you're putting in my heart. Honestly, I'm going home right after this. So, yeah, but like that was, Bepred told us that was 240 million chances to one. It's the biggest ever jackpot in 58 years. So to win that, you have got to be, this is, there's so many people in my town now that just, honestly, I feel a bit guilty because they're all like gambling and I'm like. You were just a fluke chance.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. the account the day before. Yeah. Crazy. That is crazy. How better friend asked you to be like a poster girl or anything.

No, no. No, they offer you like to go, like football matches. They offered my partner to go to Manchester United. Stuff like that. But when you win that kind of money, you're in a bubble. Yeah. Like we had, I had death threats. People sat and they were going to kidnap me to my partner.

So we just had to get in a car and go. So, yeah. How did like, when something that happens, you win loads of money, do you have like any privacy? Or does like bet Fred's kind of say, this person's just one X, Y, Z? They ask you if you want to go public, which we chose not to. And then, yeah, you don't have to have it spread all over. Do you know what I mean? Which is a good thing.

But in the end, our town was so small that it got out anyway. Because it was the biggest ever jackpot win. There was journalists, newspapers, turning up at our addresses, our mum's address. like yeah that's awful and then when I went to court because I had not like this was like before I won the money this was before I got clean off my drug addiction um I had to go to court after we'd won the money and there was pap rat see people taking I was in the paper because I had a Gucci bag it was just yeah horrendous does Fred not kind of provide any kind of like I don't know security of care yeah you don't get that you get um offered like financial advisor and stuff like that. Obviously the bank account that we had it paid into, they were really good with us.

They got us really good financial advisors. It was actually the banks that helped us more than what Betfred did. Yeah. Yeah, they kind of just left leave you to it like because I think that's a group of all different. It's not just Betfred in that. That's mega, that was a game called Megamoolah, but I think, all the, you know, like, labrots, every, they've all got it linked. And that's how that's that massive jackpot.

Yeah. I guess you've shared a little bit about where you were in life before this happened. You also share about, like, the law of attraction and manifesting this. Like, from when you were younger, you kind of knew that you were going to be a millionaire. Could you just talk a bit about that? Yeah. From the ages about 10, I've always said, one day, Rodgers, I'll be a millionaire. And I've always said, my mum.

my dad laugh about it all the time my dad used to go you got stop dreaming you do what get in the real world and I'm like I'm going to be a millionaire like and he's like well I don't know bloody how you know how they go and I'm like just believe in me I will be I will be and then when I was 16 he said that I could go get a lottery ticket like and I picked my numbers out and he went we went to the shop and we put it on and it was teletext back then and the next day we had Dad was going, she's got that one, Mandy. She's got that one. She's got that.

I had all six lottery numbers, but I had it, if I had to put it on the Irish lottery, so I had every number on the Irish lottery, but I'd put the normal lottery on. So I knew to be able to pick six numbers. Because it was only back then Irish or normal lotto. You didn't have all the other like Thunderbolts. So I knew that I was special to be able to pick them. And I just, yeah, I just knew. Can you pick me some for this week?

I'll write them down before I go. I'm going to put them on every single game. That's crazy. Yeah. I mean, it's amazing. Could you describe also, we'll go obviously into perform, but like the inside feeling? Just, you're numb.

You're completely numb. Yeah. I was excited when it was 11.5,000. Yeah. But when it was millions, I was like numb. Like, I, yeah, I couldn't eat and nothing puts me off my food. I literally, the first thing I was, done and I've never been a big drinker.

I know I had a drug addiction years ago but I've never been a big drinker. I went straight to the fridge and I had half a bottle of cardi and I was like, yeah, I got to get that. I walked into my mum's pub and I was like, you can have a million, you can have a lot. Like Kelly, do yourself out.

Yeah, it's just yeah, just numb. I still feel numb now. Yeah. I still don't think it's real until I open my eyes and I check my bank. I check my bank every day and I'm like, is it a dream?

Oh my gosh. I feel like someone's going to wake me up. Wow. I mean, most important question is, what was the first thing you bought? Well, the first thing that I purchased was actually a house for my cousin. My cousin, Megan, she's like my own daughter. I always had looked after her. Her mum used to always be out with my mum and dad,

and I always had her all three and my six weeks holiday. I just always had her. I used to save all my pocket money up for Christmas for her. and she's living on a cancer stay but it was so I mean I was in a council house but it was so bad like she had massive holes under the garden with rats buried under she they were like that as well like she had no flooring she kitchen cupboards hanging out like literally she had bricks holding a mattress up on her and I always knew if she had something nice she'd keep it nice I knew that she would She just had never been given that opportunity.

So I purchased a house $425,000, which she does, I get rent from Universal Credit for that, but only the minimum what they'll pay. Like she don't have to pay her top up. So I get $800,000. I think I could get $2,000,000 a month for that house. It's got a swim pool out the back and everything. And the air is beautiful for her kids.

So, yeah, and that's just for the maintenance on our house, basically. That's what I use that money for. it goes into a pot. Yeah, but it was changing her life and giving her then keys. And I was in hiding in Melbourne anyway with my partner. So, yeah, I was at his dad's massive nice house anyway. So it didn't matter to me. So that was the first thing I purchased.

Were you working? Like, did you have to call in and say it? No, no. At the time I was off, obviously, because I was going through getting clean off. I was 152 days clean. I won the money. Yeah. I had a really bad drug habit.

So, yeah, so that was the first thing that I purchased. So you just want all this money and you just recently became sober. How did you stay strong with all this temptation at your fingertips? That's a really good question. I don't even know how I've done it. The strength of people on TikTok. My TikTok fans keep me going every day. And that's so weird.

I've even give up smoking on vaping now. And I was on 25 cigarettes a day. Wow. I've just stopped like that. I've completely flip reverse my life. Yeah. And I think it's the fact that my children get up and they're proud of me. Like before they'd be like, mum, sort it out.

Like, do you know what you mean? Like, don't, just don't bother me in school. I'll get out here. Like, you know, I knew they were embarrassed. Yeah. But now they're like, I love you, mum. That is enough for me. That's lovely.

Like, they are my world. Yeah. And to know that I've set them up for life. Oh, that's beautiful. Yeah. You must be really proud of yourself. Oh my God. Well, I'm just so scared.

I would never be in a position where I'm ever skinned again. I'm so careful with it. Yeah. And yeah, I know I've put a large amount away so that they've got a million pound each when anything happens to me. So that is locked. So, yeah, that just earn interest through stocks. Amazing.

I mean, that amount of money could send a lot of people crazy. You know, people could go quit their job. jobs go spend it and like what's your day to day has that changed much no my day to day people laugh but my bank manager goes to me he come around for a cough and he goes what you done today then kell and i go been to bushel's bakery for a hand roll oh i did propped a prime up yesterday and i'm like do you want to see what i got and he's like no you're all right he's used to these really wealthy footballers and that and that's just me he go you're so down to earth you're just because he said to me like you can have a house of what you want.

You could get a mortgage on a, you can have $5 million pound out, 10 million pound out, because the bank would lend me anything because of what I've got. And I'm like, no. But the time I'd paid my, what do you call it, when you buy a house, you get the VAT, is it? No. Not that. I've never bought a house. Never going to get that.

Stamped, do you. Oh, yeah. So the time I'd paid that, it was $630,000, which isn't off the scale. Do you know what I mean? Of. Yeah. But it seemed like a mansion to me. Yeah.

I was in this tiny little council house and now we're like running down the corridors. I'm like, wow. Yeah. I feel like your preference has changed. Like I've seen in your TikTok you like still shopping prime mark, as you just said. Like, are you suddenly into Fendi? Yeah. Don't get me wrong.

I have bought like these are Gucci. Nice. I've bought a couple of handbags and stuff like that. When I first won it, I went to flannels. I was like, yeah, let's go. Do you know what I mean? Me and my daughter, she's 24. So she was like,

Oh yeah. Come on, mum. And then, yeah, and then after that, it just wears off. Yeah. And I'm like, yeah. And I can just like buy a five pound skirt and put one of my nice bags and people, people are always going to think it's expensive, aren't they, because of what I've got. Yeah. But I think that's what's going to make you so, you are likeable. I don't mean to say it like that. But especially on TikTok, I can see why people are obsessed with you and seeing how you deal with this level of money and fame. It's refreshing. Yeah. that like you're still so humble and down to earth because money changes people. Oh yeah. Yeah, it's changed Aaron and like Aaron. Yeah.

How did you, how did you navigate that with your partner? Well, he just carried on with the drugs basically. So we won the money together. But Aaron wanted different to what I wanted. He was still doing the drugs and he was turning up at mine. I was like, I'm not having this around my kids, Aaron. They've been for enough. I'm clean.

You know yourself probably if you've gone out and your partner's drunk and you're not. So the argument started. He's like, oh yeah, you've changed since we've got this money. And I'm like, no, I've changed for the better. You're still where you want, like, you want to be down that road. I don't want to be down that road. Yeah, and then he went off abroad because I said we're over. And like, only like in an argument, I were over thinking, oh, we'd be back tomorrow.

He ended up in Columbia with a prostitute. Oh, yeah. Crazy. And he's still with one traveling around now. I think he's back in the UK now. But he's, yeah, he's been out of the year. UK for three months, traveling around America, everywhere, spending thousands pounds on this scale. Did you split 50-50? Yeah, we had to, yeah. So how much was that each? We got five and a

half mill each, yeah, or just over that, but we gifted family. Yeah. Wow. That's crazy. But I've still got 3.7 in my stocks. I've still got a large amount to live on, and I've bought two two houses outright, which one I earn money back through. So. What about traveling? Were you interested in travelling? When my children get a bit older, because I've got an autistic daughter, she's 14, Paris likes her own home comfort and I am not leaving my children in a boarding school or with anyone else. I am their mum. It's my duty of care. Once they get to an aid where they are, like I can say, right, do you want to come abroad with a mum or do you want to stay here, then that's fine. And then I can go and travel and do what I want to do. But until then, yeah, I'll have a holiday

they're into like turkey yeah yeah get the fakes oh god it's amazing i mean we're saying like how it's incredible that you've not changed um the people around you how much did they change when they found out oh yeah it's amazing the arguments it causes in a family oh yeah yeah because when you win that kind of money everyone's like thinking you're gonna give milk and milk and it's like you can't you're i've got to think about my children my children my grandchildren they can't come first but I did gift my mum and my sister the most that you could gift which is 325,000 each without being taxed because if you give someone a million you've got then you get taxed 50% as well isn't it no it's 40% so out of a million yeah 400,000 would go to the

government it's like why would I do that yeah so I gifted them the most I could gift and then on top of that I did pay my mum and dad's mortgage off on their pub so yeah wow but I've done all that and I've still got what I've got because I'm living with the interest and I'm not going out there. Splashing it. Did you have to cut any people out of your lives, like friends or people?

You find out who you real friends are. There's people, I mean, I get begging letters every day. I get, yeah. There's only so many people you can help. So with my interest, I try and help people like my friend's a boy. He can never walk.

He's got SMA. And you can't get PIP until they're free. the mum can't take him out it's got so much equipment so I gifted them a 10,000 pound van with a ramp so that he could go out and days out I'd do things like that any day of the week people stoop real low I think I've got a brain tumour one of my friends said to me I've got to have scans on brain tumour can you lend me some money and I was just like and then like it wasn't true it's not true so why would you do that people are mad I know and I guess put yourself online you're kind of opening yourself up to this have you done like any therapy or anything

to that no no good okay i'm just so humble and you know all the bad if i get a bad comment i don't i'm just trying to go away from it now yeah like because i'm proud of me yeah it's took a long time for me to like my own skin again but i love my own skin now i love that yeah and i i i was so like broken i was a broken woman before well if you looked back from the start to now like on my TikTok I was a broken woman but now I'm a I feel powerful I feel ready to take the world and it isn't because of that I think more

of the fact the money helps don't get me wrong yeah but it's the losing somebody that's controlling you all the time and I didn't realize how much he actually was controlling me and also like being able to say what I want do what I want the freedom and not having that massive drug addiction which was holding me back so much

so now I can just go out. I can drink water and I'm fine. I went to Birmingham at the weekend. I drank water. I'm absolutely fine. Yeah. It is large on life.

Oh, I do need to ask you about that. Because if I had all the money in the world, I would be paralytic every night when I go out. What does a night out with Kelly look like as a multi-millionaire? Where'd you go out? You're still going to like slag and lettuce for a bottomless branch or you're going to the writs? No, I've had a few nice things. Like we went to the Corinthium in London.

Oh, lovely. Yeah, there was four of us. We all went there and we went and watched Magic Mike. Nice. Yes, that was the best thing we've ever seen. But then we're all... The finest of theatre. I'm single and I was like, good job.

What did he say? The finest of theatre. Yes, of course. I'll take you next time, Val. Let's go together. Absolutely. I love that. Yes.

Yeah, so yeah, that was brilliant. And then afterwards we... There's like, have you been there? To Magic Mike? Yeah. I haven't, you did. So there's like a penny lane, isn't there? Have you seen that?

Yeah, yeah. So there's our slot going, let's lay on Penny Lane. I mean you're a multi-minute's till we're laid down. Eight bouncers. Get out, right, you've got to leave. So we're like, we're not causing no trouble. We just wanted to allow them. Next thing you know, she was like, you should Google her.

You don't know who she's. They googled. They went, oh, you can stay. We're not kicking you out as soon as they knew what money I had. We were like, big mistake, huge mistake. Huge. We're going. We did.

We got on one of them tut-tut. I thought. So it's like a Simply the best. Oh my goodness. Yeah, we did. Wow, we actually got kicked out of that casino. Did it?

Yeah. You did as well. Well, we were, it was after pride and we were really drunk. And then the person that we, that could afford to be there, we were just hanging along, it's like cheating. And we were like, he was like, picked us on, buy our collars. Like, yeah, you can't get away with that in casinos and stuff.

There's like cameras. everywhere in casinos, isn't there? That's the thing. So you've got like a core group of friends that you, like, so I always think it would be amazing to win the lottery or win like a lot of money, but then the people around you, like they've still all worked their jobs every day.

Yeah. How do you, yeah, how do you do that? I take them along for the ride. Like if I go on like things like this, they come with me. My house and my garden, I must say, I've designed it, but I've had the best team of guys in there to create my dream.

also put their spin on it as well. Yeah. And if I say love, love Ireland, I'll show you the videos when we leave. Because I'm not uploading it until next week. Okay. Because they're still finishing touches, but it is absolutely spectacular.

So, like, I have all the kids, they all come around, go in the swim pool, like, yeah, they can just use my houses. I cook for like 12, 15 people a night when I'm cooking. I love that. That's one thing I always think of, because I manifest winning the lottery every day.

And I actually... But you don't play it. I don't play it. I'm playing it. That's people like you that will go and put it on once. That's true. Thank you. That will win it.

I'm going to take the numbers you give me later. You'll get that feeling and you'll know when. But I always think about like what I would do for like my friends and like you say, like having people around and just having like a space that you can kind of cultivate as your own and like just for your community must be really rewarding. It's so lovely. And that yeah, that's so that's like taking them on journeys with me. like we went to primark in Birmingham and I was like, girls, get what you want.

And I know a sunny private, but then still, that's still to them as like lovely, do you know what me? And it's lovely for me. Yeah. I love a primark call. Also, I'd rather, like, like, like you say, like, don't be. Don't be any funding at all. Yeah, don't be more than, yeah, exactly.

Don't be different. Yeah. Changing rooms were full. I was trying the jeans on. My friend's like, Kelly, you're multi-millionage. I don't care. Don't worry about it. I love it.

Yeah. Well, if you've already. you spent that much and you've got loads more to go? Is there still a list of things that you want and need? Not really. I'm pretty I'm pretty... I've got no mortgage. I've got a beautiful back garden.

My children have got everything they've ever wanted because I went ham and tong at Christmas. Because last Christmas I literally, my backgarden before I renovated it, I hired the biggest marquee. I had Tyson Fury chefs. Stop it. Yeah, I had butlers,

waitesses, I had cocktail makers, My garden, I could show you at the field. If you go back on my, oh, it's amazing. So I had a two-day event. So that was Christmas Day. I'm living my dream. Yeah, and then Boxing Day, I had canapes going around. Wow.

Like my own cocktail make, it was absolutely stunning. And the marquee was absolutely at this world. So I give back Christmas. And I had 100 to sit down for dinner. So I bought everyone an individual present. Yeah, like there was a guy in our town that had changed his life. He was massively on Keterman, and he's now, I don't know where he is in the champion,

but he's now a Thai boxer. And he is literally, honestly, Jack, his name is, big up to Jack. Like, he has changed his life, like me. But he's got really bad eyesight and really thick glasses. And he was there at the dinner. So I was like, when they all done their presents, because I had Santa there and everything, I was like, right, Jack,

I'm going to give you your eyesight. So I paid for him to have laser. And now he's fight to like phenomenal. Yeah. That's amazing. Yeah, to do things like that. Yeah. Yeah.

I love it. And you just like spend your evenings as well just like, like, what you should love? I'd rather do things like that and just have a ham roll in the day time to me and not spend my own money and gift of it. Oh yeah, I do. I love it. Wow. I love that. Yeah.

When you were younger and you would like imagine, because I'm trying to now get into the kind of mindset that you're talking about. Like, when you're. When you pictured your future and like this idea, the idea of being a millionaire when you're younger, does it match up to what you imagined it to be? I always thought I'd have a yacht in Monte Carlo. So, yeah, we did as well. So my auntie, Doe, because my auntie Doe and Sid, they're both deceased now, but they were my godparents, like I say. And Doe went a lot sooner than Sid. She'd bit Aaron on the arm a few years ago and said, look, after my world child, she used to call me a world child.

This was before me and Aaron were even in like the start, like written in the stars. Do you know what I mean? Yeah. And when after like we had to split the money and stuff. And I was like, he's out there spending it on. She was like, my darling, don't you worry. You'll get your dream when you're 45. Carry on doing what you're doing.

You'll win the lottery. And I was like, what? She was like, Euro's coming up. So like I might still have that yacht in Monte Carlo. Who knows? Oh my gosh. There's more lotteries to be won. Could you imagine that?

Could you imagine that? Yeah. So you've heard it here first. Yeah. Now you said that yourself and your partner have broken out. How do you go about navigating, like, romantic relationships now with having one? I don't. I've not.

No, I've still got my engagement rings on. Like, I did proper, proper love him. And it's going to take me years to get over that. But I'll never go back. Like, he's chose his path now. I'm so much better off about him. But I'm Christian, so I thought it's been the rest of my life of him. So, yeah, it's going to take a long time for me to be with somebody else.

I wouldn't even think about going out and going out. kissing another guy like I joke with my mates and go home you know yeah but yeah no I'll be single for a long time and then who do you trust like if I couldn't even trust my best friend yeah who can I trust that's true it's a healing that will be very a healing process yeah would you say your guard is up naturally when you meet people for the first time oh it will be now definitely definitely I will be very um they'll be getting ticks red or green flags if there's one red flag there we go on like no way yeah yeah Because I think I used to let red flags slip before, you know.

I just think I need to be on my own for a while. Good for you. I love it. Then I can just do what I want when I want. Exactly. Go out, have fun. Yeah. As Cher would say, you know, you don't need to marry a rich man.

You are a rich woman. Yes. How did that work out? That's amazing. That's crazy, isn't I? I don't feel rich, though, but I am, but I don't feel it. I feel normal. You seem rich in life as well as financial.

Yes. Yes. Yes. You know, some say being rich in life is the most important part. No. It does help as well. Money helps. Oh my God.

When people say money, you don't buy happiness. Because you've got no worries, have you? Yeah. I'd say years ago maybe when things weren't so, you know, I know my children, they want the best of everything because their friends have got it. If I can't give them that, I'm unhappy.

Yeah. If I can give them what they need, I can live in a comfortable house and I've got no money worries. Of course I'm going to be happy. I could jet off to Spain, Jamaica. Like when people say that don't buy happiness, that does. That don't buy love and it don't buy health. Yeah.

But it definitely buys happiness. True. I agree. I also find people that say that is normally rich people anyway who've always been rich. Who's always been rich who always had a wealthy background. Exactly. Yeah. 100%.

Yeah. You've obviously decided to share yourself on TikTok. Are there any like very common questions or maybe misconceptions people make about you? To be fair, nine times out of 10. I'm getting absolutely crazy, really good feedback. Good. Like, that is keeping me so positive. The odd person has given me a bad comment.

I get a lot of comments about my stools on my laptop in the kitchen. It's good engagement. Yeah. Just like silly things really, but I, do you know, everyone's been so kind. Nice. Like literally, I could cry because they are like the reason why I'm keeping so strong. Yeah, I love it. I love them.
