Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi guys, welcome back to T-App 4. I'm Christy. I'm Billy. And I'm Lauren and welcome back to this week's Quick Cupper. Hi, Lester Cups. How's everyone doing? Yes, all good in the state of the world. It is scary outside, but let's do what we do best and think about TikTok. Distract from the rest of the world falling down around us so what has been going on on tiktok guys oh let's start with the real world first oh all that chronic chronically online okay chronically online let's go what's in the real world why don't we ease in what's new you've been to how many weddings this year 25 maybe i don't i don't even know i've lost count i'm just
Starting point is 00:00:43 waiting for my own wedding i don't know when it's gonna happen always the bridesmaid never the bride oh actually the mc yeah always the mc yeah so instead of me you know focusing on catching the bouquet i'm focusing on getting the mic off the mc so yeah that's been my vibe going from mc to be Yeah. MC to, oh yes, Lauren, I'm down for that. But yeah, I've been enjoying like seeing people our age getting married. Yeah, it's exciting, isn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:13 We don't know anyone like us. Rosie's getting married. Rosie's getting married last year. Yeah, but I've not seen it with my own eyes yet. You said there was a wedding last year with me. Yeah, just one. Just one. Christy's been to more weddings than I have
Starting point is 00:01:23 in my entire life just this year i know three people close friends that got engaged this year that's gorgeous how about you how many people can afford it how do you afford it these days um what'd you say what about you how many engagements or like have you i mean none had no like but friends news like our friends are clearly like yeah only really like two or three yeah and then I've probably
Starting point is 00:01:47 been to only about three weddings in my whole life but we're I think we're like it's starting the whole kind of like phase of going
Starting point is 00:01:53 to weddings is starting now it's starting now that's quite exciting and you want it to be slow because when you have like so many people who have like
Starting point is 00:01:59 ten weddings in a year you have no time for holidays oh my god and they want to take out my annual leave wow I'm not sure on that yeah um but in our news not so much weddings we went to go see girls loud at brighton prize oh my god which is probably just as euphoric and biblical as a wedding day what do they sing Promise I can make you love you. Nothing at all that I can't do.
Starting point is 00:02:25 Promise I'm me. Promise I'm me. Like, my mum's generation is like queen at Live Aid. Mine's going to be Girls Aloud at Brighton Pride 2024. I'll be telling the kids, the grandkids. I'm going to have all their names tattooed on my arm. Comic Sans. Comic Sans.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Comic Sans. What a fun. It was fucking magical, Chris. It was so magical So good Can't even tell you How good that day was What was the best moment For you guys Was it them coming on stage Was it like
Starting point is 00:02:51 A particular song they sang Like Just being there With everybody Yeah It was the fact that They did their whole set list Like
Starting point is 00:02:57 Because usually you get These performers That come do Like a festival And they do like Three or four songs They ate And left no crumbs
Starting point is 00:03:03 Like I was Fucking fed Like me at a buffet I was No crumbs I was full By the end of the night festival and they do like three or four songs they ate and left no crumbs like i was fucking fed like me at a buffet i was full for the end of the night for me like they just they delivered everything they needed to yeah the whole atmosphere especially with what's going on this past week it was such an escape into kind of like actually there are people out here in this world that just care about the people they're with they care about love they care about sharing like a good happy positive message and it's like it's crazy how we can go from that on saturday to this week which has just been absolute horrendous yeah it's nice
Starting point is 00:03:38 to feel love be in an environment where it's gorgeous like that and it's so funny because after it finished we were kind of just like should we chase the night or just accept the fact that nothing's ever going to top this ever again ever again my wednesday no unless they're performing i do know shara cole personally and i do yeah yeah yeah in my overdraft does look like it allow that about four credit cards later just to get a meeting with them. That's funny. I think we could pull a few strings. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Come on, Tia, four. Yeah. Please. We'll have you on the podcast then. Fine. Yeah. Yeah. What else is new?
Starting point is 00:04:18 I went and had a facial last night. Okay. Which was gorgeous. I mean, I've seen London. Yeah, I know. know can't tell i first day i came out like i've been attacked with tracker jackers from the hunger games oh my god waltz like at the end she gave me it was like a like a anti-acne facial and at the end she gave me a mirror and i looked at myself oh my god even baxter it was like you know that fucking uh bit in the grinch when he looks at himself in the cracked mirror
Starting point is 00:04:45 and it's like all bugs and stuff I was generally taken aback by what I could see but it was funny because throughout the whole appointment
Starting point is 00:04:53 I have this weird like thing where I just feel insane jealousy because like when she's doing the extraction like doing the
Starting point is 00:05:01 little one just pimple popping I just wish I could fucking have my eyes open I wish I could be a camera I wish I could be doing this for myself and like doing the pimple popping. I just wish I could fucking have my eyes open. I wish I could be a camera. I wish I could be doing this myself. No, but this did make me think of something, a very traumatizing memory.
Starting point is 00:05:17 So I've had, the last time I had a facial was about this time last year. And I went to my usual lady, a lovely lady who does my lashes. And she's doing all sorts on my face like putting like wax and stuff and like
Starting point is 00:05:29 I must have looked like a right sight and then when I got home I got a message from her with a picture of myself with my eyes shut what do you mean? mid treatment
Starting point is 00:05:41 like from taking from bird's eye shots she asked for consent she didn't ask for consent I could hear her fucking giggle no
Starting point is 00:05:49 oh and is that on her Instagram now no but I want to see if I can find the picture because it was a violation
Starting point is 00:05:57 so I'm really nervous for you but oh she there's a video oh my god
Starting point is 00:06:04 the mustache I can't show you this i did not know i was being no way that is a violation you're gonna have to blur this out but my god i felt so scared after that and it's also so scary because when you go down there like even when i get my lashes tinted and lifted like people are coming in in that room and i can't open my eyes so now i've got a new fear a lot of like what's going on like my being robbed what else is new with you billy what have you been loving what have you been hating what have i been loving what i've been hating um be well i've obviously everything new that i tell people is what i've read online actually which is actually translation to what i've seen
Starting point is 00:06:55 on tiktok there you go first bit of news which i'm sure i've probably told you about a thousand times a lost mary vape bar has 30 calories in it per vape per vape and i sorry was kind of stunned at the idea that something that i do occasionally thinking oh i'm so skinny cake more cigarettes like eating cake right but i guess it's the same because they're fruit aren't they yeah they extract the juices from a fruit natural just a tiny drip of nicotine
Starting point is 00:07:30 but ultimately it's one of your five a day but my thing is it's air right so how does air contain so much calories
Starting point is 00:07:38 apparently it's like the vapour droplets they have like it's the battery acid the battery acid yes that you're vaping into that's crazy
Starting point is 00:07:44 that's so funny to me in my head you're probably thinking like nothing tastes as good as skinny feels i was like you're there just i was like said to someone i was like oh my god yeah i really i can when i'm really hungry i'll just have a little bit and then it like when you're really hungry yeah it takes away my appetite no wonder because i'm consuming 30 000 calories crazy are you putting that in my fitness power yeah calorie tracker 90 calories a day oh my god so like billy what are you gonna do right are you gonna like i'm gonna quit i'm quitting guys yeah putting out there there'll be no more content after a couple of weeks at the end of summer yeah summer it's gone moment and that's it and you believe what was the source TikTok
Starting point is 00:08:26 TikTok can't lie yeah but who on TikTok well I then googled it because I was like I didn't believe it outright I was like no this is bull and then I googled it
Starting point is 00:08:36 first of all it came up as 100 calories but then it said 100 calories per milliliters and I was like I don't have the maths to do that and when I googled it
Starting point is 00:08:43 this morning wow I lost Mary is 30 calories damn how are they getting that that's more than an apple does it not come in the packaging i doubt it no i'd be surprised protein carbohydrates calories it could be like 30 calories ingredients yeah make your own so before with like cigarette packets you've got like a picture of dirty lungs all these other things this one will just be like you me just an asshole wall of face actually not what i need to hear when i'm doing my doom scroll every night yeah that's scary another thing to worry about my gripe on tiktok this not great my gripe on facebook tiktok this week yeah um there's a trend going around and i don't
Starting point is 00:09:35 know if it's old or if it's new but it makes me sick it's to that song breaking my heart and it's daughters and sons posting their parents when they were young like thirst traps and being like my dad in the 80s do you fancy your dad or something yeah it's wrong okay yeah yeah it's like freud is freud is loving this like i I don't know. First trapping your parents is not okay. No. I'm so sorry. They did not give consent for that. It's given a very... No, not familiar, but...
Starting point is 00:10:15 Maybe to the up theme tune, but not... Breaking my heart. There's too much soul in that. A little bass. What are you trying to do? Trying to find... What are you trying to do? Trying to find, you know... What have you done before? Protecting from the internet.
Starting point is 00:10:33 It's like you're... Not exposing your parents, but like, let's say for instance, somebody comes across that photo, that TikTok. Yeah. They find your parent now on bleeding Facebook
Starting point is 00:10:44 or whatever the parent uses, then tries to pursue relationship with your parent. You're kind of to blame. Yeah. Okay, yeah. I think it's a vanity thing that like people think it's because it's what they look like as well. And like, oh, look, this is how cool my parent was.
Starting point is 00:11:04 I've got cool jeans you know what i mean you're cute jeans you're cute jeans yeah i agree i i don't know some people will be like oh no i'm just appreciating my parents i love my parents but it kind of gives me the same energy as when i once sent my mom a valentine's day card she was like that's fucking weird don't do that you got pied by your mom wait a minute i bought a rose did you that's cute though that's cute valentine's day is for different types of love there you go it doesn't have to be romantic yeah it's commercialized to be romantic but it's supposed to be about showing the ones you love you love them because my mom still buys me chocolates on valentine's day that's cute my mom don't buy me jack shit.
Starting point is 00:11:46 And it's just like, you're right, it's the whole vibe. Valentine's Day's for that. But like TikTok, your parents might not even see it. And you're there just like replying to comments of people being like, oh my God, your dad was a sort. So sorry. But if me or my sister put up a photo of my dad, he'd be like, what the fuck are you doing?
Starting point is 00:12:01 Take that down now. I think my dad would probably like it my dad would be like yeah you see me i was that was lovely i'm beautiful than all of you guys i'm like okay what he's more beautiful than you yeah his children yeah he says but i guess you don't be confident in yourself you know i'm the main character now you have to pass down your care for generations that's what you have to do as a parent when one supreme dies another rises exactly
Starting point is 00:12:30 last night I was having my couple minutes in TikTok before bed, classic falling asleep, sending things to people and I came across the best video ever did you know the Teletubbies,
Starting point is 00:12:47 Tipsy is voiced by a Jamaican man? Let me try to say Tipsy again. The green one. Tipsy. La la. The tall one. The green one. Green.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Tinky Winky. Yeah, that's purple. La la's yellow. Poe is the green one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Jamaican. He's a Jamaican man. Yeah. I didn't know they spoke. No, I'm going. Lala's yellow. Poe is the green one. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, Jamaican. He's a Jamaican man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:06 I didn't know they spoke. No, I'm going to show you this video. They don't speak. No, they... They... No. Yes, she does. Does he have a...
Starting point is 00:13:16 Like, accent. But I was absolutely creasing my pants off. Oh. Oh! answer oh he's so serious and the comments were even better i saw that this morning i didn't understand it and i was like what is this no context is that his the way he's yeah it's like just it and I was like what is this no context the beginning of that literally is that his the way he speaks
Starting point is 00:13:46 yeah it's like just a normal person yeah like what's going on me ordering a kebab at 4am me when I have to leave a voicemail
Starting point is 00:13:53 and get nervous oh I didn't know that was who's behind no that is crazy the more you know the more you know
Starting point is 00:14:00 do you know what else I found out this week what Christ Jesus Christ that isn't his last name. Yeah, it was never his last name. I don't think he has one. What is it?
Starting point is 00:14:10 He doesn't. Windsor? No, because he wasn't rich enough, he didn't have a last name. So he was just Jesus of Nazareth. And Christ just is a translation for Messiah. I always thought he was like last name in the register, Jesus Christ. Yeah, so you're saying
Starting point is 00:14:25 he did a Cheryl Cole and dropped the Cole and just went for Cheryl? Like now he's just Jesus. Jesus. Or Beyonce, Madonna. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Wow. Oh my gosh. But you heard it here first, Jesus Christ copied Cheryl Cole. Wow. That was brilliant. I had a shower thought this week after watching
Starting point is 00:14:42 the Kardashians new series. Something that I've picked up on is they never crease up. They never belly laugh. They're never slapping their knee and laughing till there's no audible noise coming out. Yeah, I agree. I think they would have done in the early seasons when they weren't so popular. Yeah. Manufactured.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Yeah. Famous and like serious about everything like could you think behind closed doors they're like i would they no i just don't think they would laugh at all to be honest i did watch you know you know that kaisa that guy he he got invited to north i think 11th birthday i don't know why i sat down i watched he's a twitch streamer yeah i don't know how old he is but he got invited to i think north yeah he got invited to north's um birthday party and he vlogged the whole the whole thing and literally they'll be doing stuff where the kids are like laughing about or the or him and the kids are kind of you know joking around playing knockdown
Starting point is 00:15:39 ginger and literally kim just she there's no emotion it's very like but that's what happens when you sell your soul to the devil he takes your soul and that's why they've got all the fame and rich in the world the fame and rich i'm telling y'all they've been selling The answer to the devil I just find it weird That there's no personality Have a laugh Danielle Come on Tongue and cheek Ha ha ha
Starting point is 00:16:11 Goes a long fucking way I see Like there's nothing better Than having a crease up With your friends Like do you think They've ever experienced Like that level of happiness
Starting point is 00:16:21 Like you know When you just like You're too high on like just life and it's perfection as well yeah a level of perfection is just like like you need to overshare it on a friday night oh my god you need those about your poo on the internet right come on kitty k come down i can give I don't know about the rest of them but I can give Kim some grace
Starting point is 00:16:48 because obviously she's been through a lot that kind of wasn't that that happened in Paris yeah she's had quite a bit of trauma
Starting point is 00:16:54 to be fair I think it probably is trauma so maybe she's just living life on like not the edge but like very like trying to take life
Starting point is 00:17:00 very seriously but I think she was like that before do you think I do think my biggest laughs come from my trauma maybe that's and you've had some big laughs bigger the drama the bigger the laugh oh my god yeah i just think like there's some celebrities i want to be friends with they look like a right
Starting point is 00:17:22 laugh yeah who would that be um who'd that be jade from little mix with they look like a right laugh yeah who would that be um who'd that be Jade from Little Mix okay she looks like a right laugh sure maybe it's the British girlies then yeah yeah Danny Dyer Danny Dyer the guy Charlie XCX yeah yeah so we were just talking about Charlie XCX then um one thing I did want to talk about was so she has released a remix of her song Guess which I'm obsessed with. Obsessed. With Billie Eilish. I don't know if you've heard it.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Have you heard it? I don't even know who Charlie XCX is. Oh my God. You know about Brat? You know like Brat Summer? The green stuff. The green stuff. I just know that because you guys bring it up.
Starting point is 00:18:01 So now I know. But I don't know who created it. I don't want to I thought Brat was just As in Bratz No I don't want to do Like Charlie the disservice
Starting point is 00:18:11 Of going to one of her Earlier songs Because she's done so much But you know like Boom clap The sound of my heart The beat goes on She sings the Please song
Starting point is 00:18:19 No That's Sabrina No that's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina
Starting point is 00:18:22 That's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina That's Sabrina What have you been doing you've been walking too much you've not been listening to music been listening to our EastEnders podcast
Starting point is 00:18:30 Charlie XCX she's like the big there is a song that she I think I know I know one song yeah but I don't know like it's the one that plays all the time
Starting point is 00:18:40 it's the apple yeah the dance she's basically her sabrina carpenter and chapel rona arguably like the biggest pop stars at the moment yeah let me just go search how they look like yeah what i wanted to talk about was she's released a song with billy eilish and it's a remix to a song that was on her album and it's really cool and billy who has like who features in the song says something like oh like the lines are like, I want to try it, buy it.
Starting point is 00:19:06 And then she says, I know Charlie likes boys, but she know I'd hit it. And people are like now calling her out for queer baiting and saying that her lyrics are too predatory, which I just kind of think is absolutely crazy. Firstly, on like the queer baiting thing, because Charlie is, no, no,y has had to
Starting point is 00:19:26 come out and defend her sexuality because people have claimed yeah queer baits anyway even though she's openly said that like i like boys and i like girls yeah don't have a label for it i'm not going to put a label on it but fans are still not letting her just talk oh no not just not letting her be and i feel like that is so problematic that's like that's sexual sexuality and like talking about that stuff isn't hurting anyone if you think about something you're referencing like eminem lyrics where fucking i tied her up and pissed on her yeah like that's a completely different game but i think with something in terms of billy's talking about a personal experience blah blah blah that's a completely different ball game. But I think with something in terms of Billy's talking about a personal experience, blah, blah, blah, that's not hurting anyone. I also think, like, so the line is, like, Charlie likes boys, but she, but she know I'd hit it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Is that not just kind of like... Charlie likes boys, but she know I'd hit it. Yeah. It's a call to that book. Do you not think that is just, like, a modern way of, like, being, like... I fancy her. You're cute, I fancy you. I fancy you. I don't think, it's not, like, do you know think that is just like a modern way of like being like i'm i fancy you're kind of you're cute i fancy you i don't think it's not like do you know what i mean and like charlie has okay the lyrics she's okay the song she's shot the music video charlie has a no problem whatsoever
Starting point is 00:20:36 with this lyric and now the whole internet is kind of like fighting for charlie despite charlie not having that okay do you know do you mean that's just this generation to a t though yeah i mean like everybody can do anything they can create a tiktok video on that and that creates talks and conversations in the comments and then it leads to something else so it's a bit exhausting to be famous i was gonna say it it must be exhausting being an annoying person on TikTok. Constantly upset by everything. Right, I know it looks a little bit different right now. Christy is absent.
Starting point is 00:21:16 She is not dead. Oh, but maybe that's a little teaser for what I'm about to talk to you about. No spoilers. Right, Billy, I need to tell you about this film that I've seen this it's called trap and it's by m night shamalan no director yes done signs split unbreakable the classics so he's just brought out this new thriller which is set in a concert right instantly i was hannah montana There you go Not quite People die So Hannah Montana the horror Well
Starting point is 00:21:49 Something I would watch So the film follows A father and daughter They're going to a concert But what everyone doesn't know Is the performance The artist Everything has been orchestrated
Starting point is 00:21:59 To catch the dad Who is also a serial killer In the act That's scary It's scary you know the butcher that freaking nut job that goes around just chopping people up or the feds or whatever heard that he's gonna be here today so they set up a trap for him this whole concert it's a trap the the dad is played by Josh Hartnett, who has had a big comeback from the 90s, 2000. I think he was a big actor back then.
Starting point is 00:22:28 And then the main singer in it, who's performing the whole time when this is going on, is in on The Secret. She's also a singer. That's M. Night Shyamalan's daughter. And she composed and performed like 14 songs, which are on the soundtrack, which I thought was quite impressive.
Starting point is 00:22:41 Yeah, that's really impressive. The main girl's called Lady Raven. Bit of a star. She's a star and um there's also a bit in the film where the the dad's daughter gets to go up on the stage that's proper like justin bieber one less lonely girl vibes but lesbian no no what it's a two girls she's a child i'm sorry no it's a very innocent situation sorry just for clarification this one needs to go to the film but it was very interesting because also m night shamalan always likes to do a little cameo in his films and he's also appears in the film for a bit but she's also in the film um so in this interview
Starting point is 00:23:21 i was asking all sorts of stuff like i was asking her what a childhood home looked like, being a proper creep, play the answer. So I was talking to my team about this and it's quite a random one. But when I imagine, not I do this often, but like your childhood home, is it filled with like interesting or scary relics? Like anything supernatural or is that completely not accurate? No, I mean, there's some of the stuff from the movies, which can be creepy. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:49 There's like random, there's like a doll from The Happening that is in our house somewhere. Oh my God, I would not. It's now like in a case, but it used to be when it first was in our house, it was like just sitting in a chair at a table and it would just scare people when they walked into the room. There is like some like torn off fake leg that was sitting around from some movie. Just the stuff from the movie is very creepy. So there's a few of those things,
Starting point is 00:24:13 but now they're all like kind of in display cases. Juju hidden away. Yeah, yeah. We don't see them like every day. And obviously, because I sound like a freak obsessed with her family, I've asked her what it's like working with her dad. Because can you even imagine working with your family on a film?
Starting point is 00:24:26 Oh, on a film as well? I don't think so. I can't imagine my dad on a film set though. It's quite niche. Yeah. Apparently he's a really nice guy, but here's what she had to say. The movie follows a father and daughter relationship.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Can I ask what it was like growing up with yours? Oh, I mean, amazing. I feel like it's hard to, you know, compare because I don't know anyone, how anyone else grew up. But I would say, you know, I feel very blessed to have one very present father who, you know, supports his kids and really genuinely believes that, you know, we can do anything. And I feel like he has this very positive outlook on the world where he sees everyone's potential and not just his children, but he, I've seen him do this with so many people where he sees somebody who maybe has never done this before a production designer a composer or this and they just done something small that he believes in he's like I think you can do it and he gives them
Starting point is 00:25:16 these opportunities and he believes in people and then he makes them do their best in a way he brings the best out of people so it's incredible to have kind of a father and mentor that's like that well obviously on the podcast we've had a couple chats around like nepo babies and like having people that have handed stuff down to them in the industry so i thought that would be quite an interesting thing to bring up considering her dad's given her this first acting role she's usually a singer but she had quite a good answer for this one what would you kind of argue back to the kind of Nipo baby claims that might come with you starring in a film that your dad's in? Yeah, I mean, luckily there hasn't been much of that
Starting point is 00:25:51 and I think it's because of, you know, it's all very, we're filled with so much pride for each other. I think there's no, I think the sort of Nipo dialogue is kind of insinuates like a bit of guilt or shame in it and I think that's just not how we feel about each other you know our family my grandparents came to America you know with literally like pennies in their pockets and had this American dream and worked you know overnight in the hospital to make one dollar and another dollar another dollar dollar they were staying in like a reformed hospital room with like a hot plate. And then their son got to make movies.
Starting point is 00:26:25 And it was this like American dream, this miracle. And, you know, the fact that we're able to make art, we're just so grateful for that. I also think, you know, we're a family of minority storytellers. And so I think we should support each other. And I think that's a beautiful thing. That's a brilliant answer. I love that. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:26:43 So it was a really interesting chat. She was a lovely girl. And I feel like this kind of thriller feels very 2024 so if you're an m night shamalan fan it's definitely an interesting watch put it on your radar thanks for watching if you've got any confessions or dilemmas be sure to email us at t at four at jungle creations.com or you can leave a comment on Spotify.
