Starting point is 00:00:06 He is actually going to eject a fan. Because bad things happen in Philadelphia, bad things. Joy it is to come to Philadelphia and stand here at Dodge Ice Ball. Dallas Town Warriors. Head of Saves, Mike, John Cooney. All right. We're live. Hello.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Hello. So. You want to explain to the people where you were, Tom? I was in Europe. I thought you were in country redacted. I know exactly where you were. I have relocation at all times. Yeah, you do.
Starting point is 00:00:48 You have the air tag and my fine my. If we're going to be in a podcast together, you have to let me know where you are at all times. The rare Liam refresher, you got broken out there. Did you already? Which really is just your dad. Oh, like, can you kill your video for me because I have zero bandwidth? All right, hold on. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:01:13 How about now? Can you hear me? Yeah, I can hear you fine. And you broke up for a few seconds. And I just like, like I said, I have, I'm down here. I just have no bandwidth. No, it's okay. And we're, this is, this is a light.
Starting point is 00:01:24 This is like 10KL light. 10K light. Yeah, it's just riffs. We're going to do a regular app later this week and put that out, get back on our regular schedule. Oh, but yeah, this is our, because we got a lot of voicemails. We've been on, we've been on summer break. Yeah, because you're a teacher, so that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Yeah. Yeah, so, yeah, I went to, I went to Munich and went to Austria. and I went to Prague. That's awesome, dude. Yeah. That sounds fucking rad as hell. I'm glad you had fun. Yeah, but you know what wasn't rad?
Starting point is 00:02:01 What wasn't rad, Tom? The fucking heat. Oh, was it that bad? Oh, my God, man. It was, they don't do air conditioning. Well, that I know. Yeah. So the heat was, it was the, it was so fucking humid.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Oh, no. These cities are all close together and. Yeah, everything is. combined and everything's blacktop and there's very little trees. And I sit... That fucking sucks. It sucked. It sucked. As much as I liked all three cities, I didn't get to see Prague that much.
Starting point is 00:02:34 I got most, I got a lot of Munich, but I didn't get to see a lot of stuff. I wanted to shout out listener to Lewis from Astoria, who sent me a shitload of stuff. Like, there's no way I could ever do all of it. I would definitely go back to Munich. It has a nice metro. and it's easy to get around. Just only have a sign that says you're welcome for the Marshall Plan. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:59 So one of the tours are like, yeah, we're like the northernmost city in Italy. And then also someone in Austria said that too. I don't know what to make of that. They're both Catholic. I definitely, dude, Munich, like my first day would go on this tour, this guy's like, oops I'm not going to edit it my wife
Starting point is 00:03:23 actually complained about the review for this one guy oh yeah you're telling me that yeah he was like he had like holes in his sneakers he smelled like there's and you got high tolerance
Starting point is 00:03:36 for stuff like that I think I actually do I can put up with some of that shit I mean if you teach teenagers you have to be able to a certain level right but there is there's a stereotype
Starting point is 00:03:53 like oh, Europeans don't use deodorant. That's not true. There's some that don't or they use like this real shitty deodorant's art as like chemicaled up or whatever. Europe has a lot of weird health things and that's one of them. Air conditioning is another one. They think it's
Starting point is 00:04:10 bad for you. Right. I'm not getting into the air conditioning debate. Is it like fan death of the South Koreans? Yes. They think it's good. You can get like sick you can get the chills they think it actually is bad for the environment
Starting point is 00:04:25 which I mean it does use energy but he uses less than heat apparently the what was I gonna say what was it talk oh this tour guy he'd get anyway so he smelled he reeked and then we so it must have been real real bad yeah and he said he said a couple like
Starting point is 00:04:42 like off color like misogynous jokes cool he also told us the litter so that one sucked So you got a crust punk for a... A late, boomer, early Gen Z. Tom meant Gen X. Cross punk, maybe. I can't picture the smell from here.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Yeah, no, we had... Tengio Loss has presented you in Smell Vision. I just took a shower, so... I just took out nasty shit, so... Nice. So we're... Just the blend of those two. I took a shit at the shower.
Starting point is 00:05:17 Yeah. That's our new... Candle. Waffle stomping, bro. Yeah. Oh, that reminds me of a story I have to tell you off here. About waffle stomping? Yes. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:05:28 I got to edit anyway, so fuck it. Do not pause this. Here, let me pause it. Now that we've... All right, back, now I told that story. Now that we've made everything terrible. No, I shared the shit story. This does not involve me, so don't worry about it.
Starting point is 00:05:42 We're all pooping. Oh, man. But yeah. So, so, uh, Vienna was lovely. I really, I really like Vienna. Good, dude. I'm glad you liked it. That was nice, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:54 And, uh, Prague was interesting. I really wish I got to see the chief stick place in Prague. But I assume your wife was a tyrant. Yeah. Um, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. I'm also married to a tyrant. Yeah. It was, was it, your wife the reason you didn't go to all the places in Italy that I sent you?
Starting point is 00:06:11 No. Or was it someone else. Oh, someone else. Did you guys go to like McDonald's? and shit instead? I didn't. Members of our party who shall remain nameless Kurds dead.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Uh, did. Where did you at least get to eat like decent places? Yeah. Okay. All right. I just wandered around and got drunk. It's the thing I always do on vacation.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I got to say, uh, I always forget how great it is you could just drink. On the street. On the street. You could just chill. That that I wanted to be on a street because it was so fucking hot. I got to see skeletons.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Okay. Like literally. That sounds pretty cool. They, under the church in Vienna, the cathedral there, they call it like a Dom, Dom Kirk or whatever,
Starting point is 00:06:58 Dom Daddy Kirk. What the fuck are you talking about? They call it like a Dom church or something like that. How do you say, Dom Kirche? My brother. Dude, I'm not,
Starting point is 00:07:09 I'm not lying. They call, instead of like, it's like, like Italians, they call like the cathedral. Duomo. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Let's see. How do you say it? Stefan Storm. Oh, I got to tell you, though. Everyone in Austria sounded like I was in, I was, it was very hard for me not to start doing Arnold every time I was talking to somebody in Austin. I don't blame you. I would be a real piece of shit.
Starting point is 00:07:36 It was very funny. They do all sound like that. Yeah. The wild, hon. The vows are wild. See, the Arnold comes. goes when I get it it's fucking spot on I went to Austria
Starting point is 00:07:51 to see Arnold and I drank beer I had it there earlier I had it earlier but they all sounded like them if I you know what it is it's like the yips if I think about it it goes away if I just like say random shit we were recording the other day well there's your problem
Starting point is 00:08:08 and which goes on for like it's like a three and a half hour episode and at some point Victoria is like muted and she's like sorry I got the yips Oh, I. So it's funny. So speaking of Yips, Prague. Okay. I don't, check is not anything in my wheelhouse, right?
Starting point is 00:08:28 Like, German, like, oh, yeah, Morgan makes sense. It's morning. It just sounds a little different. Guten Morgan, right? It sounds like, it's the same. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm tracking. You know, all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Danka is thanks, right? Easy. close enough, right. Right. And go to, go to, so the checks, and I was told this by multiple people, you have to like greet them in check when you walk into like a business or anything. If you don't, they think you're, if they'll take the most charitable that you're just a dumb asshole tourist. If you, at the worst, they'll think you're actively rude and they'll be nasty to you.
Starting point is 00:09:07 So I don't know how true this is, but I had to learn how to say that. It was like Dolberry Den. and and I forget what what is what is thank you is decuu there's like eight different probably what
Starting point is 00:09:20 there's also de qui which kind of thing sounds like thanky so I remember that one the quay um dude it the that one gave me the yips
Starting point is 00:09:32 so I was asking like like there was a couple days I was like I'm too tired to be confident in the approach and um then one guy starts So we do it. This is the last day.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I guess my Dobry Den sounded close enough. You thought I was checked. And he starts talking to me in check. And I'm so goddamn sorry. I just hear him say Anglitsky. And I say not yes in Czech, which is ano. Mm-hmm. No, I say C.
Starting point is 00:10:02 I just switched Italian. You fucking idiot. And, and, and, uh, there's funny. Poor check stared at you like, This goddamn moron. Also, tons of Vietnamese people who completely speak Czech, they have no, like, they're like third generation. Vietnamese checks.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Sure, man. Vietnamese food in, in Prague, fucking stuff. Probably fucks, yeah. No, it was really fucking good. And then what was, oh, there was an Italian guy. So we went to this restaurant in Vienna. One of the, my wife had been going back and forth with like the owner. Like, she was just really sweet one.
Starting point is 00:10:41 man. Okay. I thought this was going to be your wife was going back and forth with her because your wife was about to stab it in the throat. No, no, no, no. Like, she was really sweet. And like, it was like, we already knew her. So she like was like, like talking to us and she spoke very kind. That's awesome. Oh, super sweet. She spoke German, Bulgarian, Italian, Italian, English and something else. Like the goddamn Pope. Russian. Russian too. Yeah. She spoke five fucking languages. And so we're talking. And then like she has to leave because her daughter was sick. And her husband's like the cook. he does not speak English Oh boy
Starting point is 00:11:13 When she's leaving She tells him In Italian He can speak Italian And I go Oh no Good enough Oh no
Starting point is 00:11:24 Because yips This Google translate I didn't need it I didn't need it He started coming over to me And talking to Italian My receptive Italian is still pretty decent And I was like
Starting point is 00:11:35 I understood everything And then he when he tried to speak English He switched to German but like he was saying like we make. So like Vermachen. Which you can limp, right. That's all right. I can understand you.
Starting point is 00:11:47 Great. Yay. Like I can understand spoken Italian. I was surprised how well I can understand spoken Italian. He was slow and he knew that like, hey, look, man, we just need to be able to pay the bill. Bill, check. Not check the people. No, no.
Starting point is 00:12:04 But yeah, I guess I say highly recommend Vienna. Well, all three of those things are really nice. I could go on at length about some of these tour guides. You know, I got all bastards. I will say, I will say. So we did this, this tour, the hiking tour, which I was sending you pictures. I was Gandalf maxing. I had a hiking stick, the beard and the big hat.
Starting point is 00:12:26 You looked very cute. I was, I was drinking a lot that day, too. Yeah, Ovia, were you? And, you know, there was an American, there was an American brother or sister. They were really, they were really cool. We were talking. but I met an astronomer one of the guys in her group was a fucking astronomer
Starting point is 00:12:40 so oh boy when I found out he was an astronomer hell out yes we were talking about trans neptuneate objects and pre-covering of asteroids your wife just leaving like that and he's working
Starting point is 00:12:56 he works on like like trajectories of of bolides and what's the other thing he says he works on intergalactic objects trying to find more. That's really cool. Because we've had three.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Yeah. I was like, dude, I'm like, oh, like, please let's like, if I ever get back into the astronomy stuff, he's like, you should join your local club and all that kind of stuff. He's like, I can give a talk and stuff like that. Like, we do it remotely. Because astronomers are so, are like so chill.
Starting point is 00:13:24 God do it. Yeah. And what was the other? Oh, yeah. So there was a, so his wife was Czech, but they lived in Ireland for last 20 years. Oh, wow. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:35 She grew up under communist. Oh, boy. And her, and it wasn't a debate. It wasn't a debate. The tour driver also did, but he was young. And he was very, he was, he was a classic, really, like, gifted, clearly like a gifted kid who things did not go right, which I don't know, basically. Empathized with. Yeah, same.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Yeah, I'm talking to you. That's me. And he was very intelligent. and very well read. And like he's just pulling references to like mythology and like history of different countries and stuff like that. And so I was just listening to them have a discussion about communism versus capitalism. And they both hated capitalism. The woman was like things were better.
Starting point is 00:14:23 He was like, well, you know, there are some things I think you're right. You know, everyone had a job. Everyone had a house. You know. But. And they were like, well, you know, the freedom of speech. And then they both kind of, and this is like, the, the, the, the, the tanky side of me is very, is very, you know, is walling itself off right now to prevent cognitive dissonance. But it was like, they were both like, of only that socialism with a human face, they're like, oh, my God, we could have had it.
Starting point is 00:14:51 We could have had, like, the synthesis. But it was, it was interesting where they did say that the freedom of speech aspects sucked, which, hey, look, I didn't live in it. Right. Yeah, fair enough. I understand why they were restrictive of speech. I think if you, and my wife asked me this, she's like, what did you think about that? I was like, well, it makes sense that, like, people would chafe under that. And, you know, any sort of future endeavor in socialism needs to be aware of that.
Starting point is 00:15:24 And of what specifically. Do, to do better when it comes to, like, all right. So, like, why would you. Right. Okay. No, I'm picking up what you're putting down. Yeah. Right.
Starting point is 00:15:34 like, like, restricting, they restricted speech because they didn't want counterrevolution, right? They didn't, they didn't want backsliding. And we saw what happened in those countries that backslide it. Like a lot of them had really, I mean, fuck. It's like a huge reduction in quality of living in all those countries, right? And women have to, you know, sell their bodies and shit and when they never had to before. But yeah, I think like, oh, yeah, if there's going to be like a new social revolution, you need to be like, We got to figure out freedom of expression and allow this to occur, but you can't.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You got to find some way to square that circle. I don't think you have to necessarily in like a new form of socialism, just reenact the bad parts of the old. Like you take the good parts and you leave the bad parts. That makes sense? Yes. Yes. But it was enlightening to me because they were sympathetic to it. not
Starting point is 00:16:32 big like if they were just reactionaries I would have not been interested at all what they had to say right but they were nuanced and they were new I mean you have someone yeah you have someone living in
Starting point is 00:16:44 Northern Ireland the north of Ireland Tom right in that part in the north of Ireland right and you know having that anti-imperialistic world which you know
Starting point is 00:16:58 your average Irish is didn't really better than your average American in that kind of stuff. You know, then you had a Czech guy who fucking hated capitalism. Like, I could tell. Like, he was making jokes about it the whole time because it was 35 Celsius. And he was really worried that people were going to get sick. Yeah. Tom here in robot form.
Starting point is 00:17:20 Tom was ignorant as to the actual events of the Prague Spring. He now is even more firmly convinced that socialist nations must be on guard against reaction and counter revolution. Lip Tom has been exiled until further notice. We now resume our irregularly scheduled program. Yeah. Thankfully, we all lived. So we're here to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:17:41 I guess we're here to here to, hello, welcome to the Leverton of 10,000 losses. The only Philadelphia travel podcast that exists. I'm your host, Tom Payman. My pronouns are he and. With me, is my co-host, yay. Liam.
Starting point is 00:17:54 Hi. I'm Liam McAnerson. My pronouns are he and him, too. Fuck you. No announcements. This is a little one. This is a baby one. We're going to do, like I said, we'll do a mailbag.
Starting point is 00:18:06 We'll do a mailbag next, next episode. And, oh, yeah, we got to start. I already put some fuelers out for bonuses, but we're not sure. Thank you. Yeah. VoiceMail calling on 26737171718. Tell us what you would do with Franz Joseph's penis. Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Oh, did you go to that? That palace or whatever you were going to? With the princess you like, you freak. Yeah, one second. Patreon.com slash 10,000 losses. All right. So I'm done with the Habsburgs. All right, man.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Okay. I'm so as everybody else. I don't know. I feel. Oh, yes, man. The wars of religion. Let's do this. Every single place I went to was ruled by the Habsburgs.
Starting point is 00:18:53 So I was fucking done with them by the. So we, the last day in Vienna, we actually like skipped our tour. We're supposed to go to like the CC apartment. And I'm like, it's going to be another. Oh, look, this room's Baroque. Oh, look. This room's for Coco.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Oh, look, this is the hall of mirrors. Look at the cool effect. It's the same as in the other three palaces that we've seen. Oh, there's. It's going to be the same fucking shit. And I'm done with Cece. She was like definitely a narcissist. She was apparently horrible to her like maid staff and like that stuff.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Oh, yeah. She just happened to be hot. All right. So you know what? had it coming. Oh my God. Which I told you. You're like, no, no, I could have fixed her. Wrong. I don't know. I do Cluster B. I'm not going anywhere near.
Starting point is 00:19:39 I can't fix Cluster B. I'm sorry. I can try. I mean, borderlines are slightly more receptive, but she didn't seem like borderline. She seemed like a narcissist. And every, I'm so, like the Just So stories. Like, yeah, this, this food here was the royal mess, the, the, the, the Kaiser Shmarm and it was like made for Cecee so she didn't eat it and then
Starting point is 00:20:03 Franz Joseph ate it and I was like I know man come on man it's not making up fake noble origins of food I hate I hate those just so stories and there was a couple different ones I can't remember floating around but um
Starting point is 00:20:18 yeah yeah you're right yeah just I'm in a chair that sucks but yeah and they're gonna go away like like the chair actively like no no no no no no no it's just very and God. Crin likes it, and that's that, that wife, I'm married, so I don't have an opinion. Oh.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Becoming one of those wife guys. Well, no, I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm just like, I know. But what's that? I like to occupy the space of, the lockhorns. The space of evil witch devoted henchmen. You're like the minions also wouldn't work for Hitler? Yeah, but I'll work for Corinne.
Starting point is 00:20:58 I just accidentally opened the discord and saw Cassie lightly say maybe Philadelphia doesn't deserve sports teams and I'm in full agreement. We got it. All right. Yeah. Well, how bad are we losing right now? It was 9-1. I'm not too actually worried about the Phillies. Let me see what the story is.
Starting point is 00:21:16 It's 11 to 1. I got it. I hate everybody. All right. Well, so while we're on the Phillies, hey, look, 50 and 40, going to be 50-41 pretty soon. We had the All-Star announcements. We got five Phillies. We got Marsh for the first time.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Brandon Marsh deserves it. Schwerber, Sanchez, Harper. Who am I missing? Harper was picked by the commissioner himself. Yes, as like a legend pick? Please do not kneel me over a shallow ditch price. Yeah, when the MLBPA leads, they'll split the two factions. The card of the revolution, Bryce Arbor.
Starting point is 00:22:04 MLBPA, let, like, L, and like MLVPA like R. You have the left and the right tendencies. Bryce, we're really shocked. We thought that Brace Harper was going to be a Mengevik. But no, he's fucking old Garbolyovic as they come, man. We turned out his real political opinion was, uh, was Mal, Now they didn't go far enough. Dad?
Starting point is 00:22:29 Yeah. Where are the, what's, where do the, oh, Posadaists? Oh, yeah. Remember, remember when that was a thing? Yes, sir. People were talking about the nuclear dolphins. Who-hoo. Get help, folks.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Oh, my God. But yeah, so, I mean, that's, that's good. Phillies, I mean. Jalen Brown, to the Sixers. Oh, yeah. How could we not talk? about that. We got to talk about it. Paul George, see you later. Yeah, I'm waiting for Jaylon Brown to bring the light of Islam to Philadelphia. I mean, not that, not that we don't
Starting point is 00:23:05 have it. What was it on the Discord or the group chat where someone was like, I don't want Northeast Philly guys to start getting excited about the Sixers again. And then it's like, oh, wait, he's Muslim, never mind. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know if that was a group chat or not. I think that was Discord. I don't remember seeing that the group chat, but I have no idea. Yeah. It all blends together, dude. I know. the last three weeks kind of just crazy. But yeah, man, that for two first rounders. Yeah, and we got rid of Paul George.
Starting point is 00:23:39 My boss in the Celtics are poop. Yeah. I'm all in on the Sixers now. I don't think we're going to get LeBron James. That'd be so funny. Watch this space, but I don't think, I don't think he wants to do that. The book ending with Cleveland, I think is. Makes more sense.
Starting point is 00:23:57 He has to play with Jimmy Harden, which like, I don't know. Like, that also sounds like it sucks. God, man, all those egos in one room. Yeah. Yeah, brother. Like, do you think, like, I think maybe LeBron and Bede could get along, like, for a year, at least, like, stay in each other's lanes? Like, two, three years, right. Because it's all, just like, stay, like, this is your half of the locker room.
Starting point is 00:24:20 This is my half of the locker room. Oh, we're just like red pink down the middle? Yeah, we're not going to fuck. We're not going to fuck with each other. I don't see them being like super best friends or anything like that But no, but I think also Embedde would be like Like the reason I mean like LeBrondos who's going to into if he comes here and like
Starting point is 00:24:38 Embed like I think you can reason to say I don't know man we get into it But I don't think this is imbeats team anymore in the first place No who do you think so maxi I think it's Maxi's team he's the next he's the next like he's I really think it's I really think it's already maxi's team yeah yeah I because imbid like is hurt all the time. And like, that's not like an attack on Embed's like talent or like ability because he's obviously
Starting point is 00:25:03 super talented. He's very good at basketball. But I think like Maxi kind of like as a leader maybe makes a little more sense. Yeah. I know. Oshkern was here to yell at me about how my opinions are wrong from the couch. Next next episode, guys. Who's who's so with with, uh,
Starting point is 00:25:25 This raises a question to me. Who's bringing up the ball? I mean, obviously, you'd split it between Jalen and Maxie, but... I think Maxie still does it because Jalen's off ball handling is... Yeah, yeah. More of a pure... Because I know that, like, Maxie, like, grades out as a shooting guard. And Jalen Brown's a really good shooter.
Starting point is 00:25:45 He just can't dribble to his left. He cannot do it. If he does it, he dies. It's like speed, but just with dribbling with your left hand. Well, Bob Coos, he scored all those points that he couldn't shoot with his left. either so yeah apparently he could yeah but bob coozy was playing against plumbers and carpenters and listen i love bob coosie but god damn there's tall guys um oh my god oh my god that i definitely i definitely unless there's something about jalen brown that we don't know i i think we fleece them
Starting point is 00:26:19 i mean he's insane but they all they all are it's part of the game it's the it's all these weird fucking This is what you get. It's a, basketball is all starting pitchers and wide receivers, like in the sense of personalities. There's just two, it's too, it's funny because it's,
Starting point is 00:26:37 it's a very team sport. Like, you do all have to be working with each other. But, um, yeah, they, they,
Starting point is 00:26:46 they're all insane. I, I do like, RFK, especially the other day, the other day repeated his like, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:54 kids with all. autism will never throw a baseball. And I'm just like, I have seen, brother, I have that's cranky. I have seen Chris Sale pitch my guy. Yeah. They'll never throw a bit. I have literally had catch with, with autistic kids. And they were fine.
Starting point is 00:27:11 And they're throwing heat? No, one of them actually did. I was like, you should talk to your, you know, talk to your baseball team. Your school's baseball team. But yet, I think there's like three on my team. Like, just throwing field? bro yeah um it's it's it's i'm i'm so i would you want if you want to talk about politics i got time the 250 celebration but ass what a way to just like you could have done so much cool stuff and
Starting point is 00:27:45 i'm sure that like the aboriginal plan that the smithsonians like committee that was signed in like 2016 or 2015, whatever. There was a lot of infighting, but like when isn't there? And also like, I just didn't need it to be like the Trump show. Regardless of like how I feel about Donald Trump, which is that obviously he should be, you know, redacted. See, I'm trying. Well, I already have to end of their anyway. Okay, knelt over.
Starting point is 00:28:09 Have a scu. Have a scu. I have a scoble. And then we poop on it. That's not the point. He likes that too much. That's attention. No, he likes piss, not poop.
Starting point is 00:28:21 But it's attention. He likes attention. You need to like the damn Nadio Memori. I just, I just, uh, don't, quick. Um, let him know you'll never be remembered. It's just like, you know, maybe his name be erased as my people are fun of saying. But yes. I think part of it is just like, shit just sucks so much ass.
Starting point is 00:28:44 Where it's like, it's so like people being like, like, I will say like, I posted something on Twitter, because I very rarely go on Twitter these days, but I do my, I do the Ross hit and run post, which is you post and immediately mute it. Yes. I did that for the White House official Twitter account posted a picture of Lee surrendered Appomatics, but it's Lee and Grant shaking hands. Yes. And I tweeted the penalty of treason, the penalty for treasonous in death, which it is.
Starting point is 00:29:17 and I got like neo-confederates threatening to skin my cat and I was like oh okay yeah good look buddy you have to come into the city they're scary yeah also good look yeah God invented the 870 for me specifically you got a lot of good positions to the scope out yeah I won't go any further
Starting point is 00:29:39 but yeah I just like this American 250 shit has just been so fucking tiring. Or it's like we have, yeah, just this fucking idiot surrounded by sycophants, surrounded by idiots. And it's just like, can we just fucking end this, please? You could make something so cool. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:58 You could have done. What we should have done, like, you know, regardless of president, it's just like, why don't we do, like, infrastructure rebuilds? And like, hey, like, new, like, we're, like, you know, I, I, if we have, like, someone to the, I'm talking about the world in which we live, not the world of which we want to live. So we had someone like Biden or like hopefully to the left of Biden who's not union busting after the, um, oh, the rail stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Yeah, the, right. You could like do a new Excela. Like, hey, guys, we're going to get like the, we're going to ram through the, uh, the, the gateway project. Right. Like, that would be really cool for America's 250th. But no, we get like the green American state fair that sucked. Washington, D.C. blows ass.
Starting point is 00:30:41 The triumphal arts is falling apart. Like, everything's like, it's like what. It's really just like... It just feels like plutocracy. It just fucking... What a general contractor thinks is classy. Right. Yeah, but in the Wildwood.
Starting point is 00:30:56 Yeah, that to me, like the aesthetic thing, Kate Wagner was on... Former gas, Kate Wagner, was on showbillies. Oh, yeah, she was. And talked at length about the sort of aesthetic of this era and how shitty. all this stuff is and it's it's um gross it is it is she should be saying something like we live in
Starting point is 00:31:22 mcmansion america like the people who think mcmansions are attractive are the people running the government yeah and it's like you have these the more is more approach basically but it's all done as cheaply as possible it's all it's all it's all the what's the home depot like contractor grade brand HDX or something I don't know I think it is just yeah whatever it's it's
Starting point is 00:31:55 absolute like just dog shit just everything's loose like it's like a door that's handle it's never like like it's attached properly it just jiggles forever it just jiggles constantly and the door is sort of like off of
Starting point is 00:32:09 off level so it like when you try and close it you have to pull it really hard and at least marks on the jam Like it That's what this like country like everything that he had Painting gold It's just been looted basically yeah And then like I like hearing all this seeing all this
Starting point is 00:32:24 Then I when I was in Vienna And I'm in the fucking like the golden hall Of the music hall that fucking Franz Joseph And it's literally just everything is gold leaf But it's done in like a classy way That conforms to like proportion Or Rococo or whatever yeah Which I like the style of like
Starting point is 00:32:41 And it's like, holy shit, this is someone who actually, like, commission people with taste. Like, new, like, Trump, it's like, but it's gold. Do you see the gold on it? That's classy, right? But it's a turd, you know, it's, it's falling apart. There's, there's mold, mildew coming down. But the gold is very nice. Just, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:06 I don't get it. No, I don't get it. It just sucks that, like, you can do 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. And like you were talking about like having like a left New Deal, Neo New Deal, social Democrat even where you're like, look, you know, the promise of the American Revolution, you know, was not fulfilled when it was founded. We got closer at the end of the Civil War. We got closer with the New Deal.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Now it's time for our next. We're trying to get closer to this. Like you can you can wrap it up and sort of patriotic stuff and like talk about like, acknowledge that the mistakes of the past and like look to the future. And it's like a very easy win. but no but no it's it's all grievance politics getting your contract your your pool store buddies um and the jet ski dealership guys like it's just just oh like everything i see it's it looks like it smells like a like an air condition it hasn't been cleaned yeah i just i think that's that's
Starting point is 00:34:01 that's my frustration right it's like this this kleptocracy and this like very like insulting almost approach to like they're telling you to your face you're fucking stupid and you like lap this shit up yeah it maybe this is like my the classism in me which is funny because I grew poor shit but like
Starting point is 00:34:23 it it is it is vulgar in the worst way it's lumpin it's funny it's like lumpin proletariat but the static but the most bourgeois people I don't know. Like,
Starting point is 00:34:39 it's, it's horrendous. Like, like, you, you can't make a good fucking state. How fucking hard is to do a state fair? And I think that's it,
Starting point is 00:34:49 right? It's like you can, like, even if you're Trump, like, I mean, he can't because he's surrounded by, again,
Starting point is 00:34:54 sick of fans. And he's, and he's an narcissist. It has to be about him. But like, why couldn't you just do like, all right, man,
Starting point is 00:35:01 we're going to give each state, I don't know, fucking $5 million dollars go absolutely fucking bananas. Yeah. what is good about your state? And we'll give like a $10 million like grant or something if you win. Like that would be sick.
Starting point is 00:35:13 And like we're going to do free admission, you know, bring the best of your state. Like do a tourism rollout. Like what's cool about Pennsylvania? Like oh, we're the snack capital of the world in central Pennsylvania. Like, you know, talk about, you know, agriculture. Talk about because like the farmers are in his pocket even though he's fucked them about a billion times. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:33 Like, yeah. Like here's food from around the country. Like try something. Try something you wouldn't get to try otherwise. And it's not 20 fucking dollars. Like make it cheap. Make it free. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:45 You could make it free. Why not? There should be fucking like carnival rides and shit. There should be funnel cake. Right. There should be a butter sculpture. The weird shit that like makes America kind of funny to live in. Right.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Yeah. Like I'm thinking like I want it like, oh, this part of the state fair. Okay. This is going to be like the mid-America carnival. right and we're going to have a midway and then like the the east half is going to be the Jersey shore like like east coast
Starting point is 00:36:15 vibe right we're going to do that and then like so we're going to have like racist t-shirts which they would love and and like you know faux boardwalk stuff I too I too have been to watch yeah you get you get you know some
Starting point is 00:36:29 some what were the what were the fucking guys from jersey the four singers was it the four seasons The four tops? Whatever. Whatever those guys. Like, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:40 get those guys and you get like the 50s thing going on. Then the middle America is like the 18. Frankie Valley of the four seasons. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Yeah, in the middle, in the middle America one, it's kind of like, you know, let's, let's like, well,
Starting point is 00:36:53 there's more country stuff. And then like you have the, then you have the West Coast. But you can do like, but you can do like, cowboy shit. Like the Great American West and like surfing. And then you have like a southern one that's like soul food and jazz and shit.
Starting point is 00:37:06 And New Orleans and, New Orleans, all these different little, all these still different, like, cultural. And if you want to do your Trump one in the little fucking corner, you could do, this is Mar-a-Lago, this is the best. Right, right, right. Suicide booth. Right. If you come up to it, you just get- Yeah, it's just-
Starting point is 00:37:19 Right. No, we're not giving them the easy way out. No, it's a bag for you. You'll just get-bid. Bleak that, I guess. Yeah. That's a lot of sense you're going to have that. But yeah, you can do all this.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Like, we're already just, we're just bullshitting coming up with it. Like, yeah, you have. All the pissing off is like they're saying to your face, you're fucking stupid. I'm going to have, you know, I'm going to have, I'm going to have the Army, right? You want the Army there? Guess what? We're having the guys who dress up like the American Revolution. We're having guys dressed up like Civil War.
Starting point is 00:37:49 We're having guys dressed up like fucking doughboys. We're having guys in pinks and greens from World War II. We're going to have all those little hours. Or the Army Corps of Engineers and talk about like. Right. Dredging. We obviously understand before anyone gets mad at us in the fucking comments. Like, we're not real patriotic Americans.
Starting point is 00:38:06 We are insulted what they call us stupid because we know more than them. Yeah, I'm not, I'm not patriotic, but they're, they're, but I know more than you, God damn it. Yeah, I don't, I don't, I don't hate the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, land in the people, right, I hate my government. And, and, and, and that's one thing that travel has taught me, it's people are people, and there's good in, in every culture, garbage everywhere. Some, some, some cultures are, are less, no, so cultures are less valuable than others, no, um, that's true.
Starting point is 00:38:34 I, too have been to, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I've been to Manchester, England. Oh, Manchester Catch and Straes. I couldn't think of a, like, shit, like, where's a real shit hole? I couldn't think of it. So I don't want to go off of poor people. Yeah. Yeah, I've been to Kensington in the UK.
Starting point is 00:38:56 That's all the rich assholes are in Kensington Gardens, yeah. I actually haven't. I have. No, England's coming up soon. I think you're on England. I don't know. Well, the plan would be do London for like a couple days. I will tell you, we could go off air with this too, but I, I embarrassingly loved my time in London.
Starting point is 00:39:20 Yeah. Yeah. I do think you're going to need more than a couple days. Well, because England is like a week. Oh, oh, you can't. There's somebody to go back. London, not England, London. Oh, yeah. So it would be like, go see like some of the museums, go to a couple pubs.
Starting point is 00:39:39 Right. My wife has been to England like seven times. So it's more for me. Right. I'll give you an it. All right. I'll worry. Yeah. And then my, my plan is. Are you going to the Imperial War Museum? Of course. Yes, because everyone's like, why would I go there? Because it's war. Because it's cool. God damn. I was. So Corinz's cousins were over the other day. And they are like, we're just in London a couple months ago because they travel pretty extensively. And I'm just like, oh, like, they're like, yeah, we're going to London.
Starting point is 00:40:09 I was like, okay, cool. You should go to the Imperial War Museum. And they were just like, that doesn't sound like it's fun. I'm just like, why don't we fucking talk to you? That's a shame. The, oh, yeah, definitely. And this is not, this is not for a while yet, but this is one of the trips that's on the, and here where I have my part of me wants to go down the porch with the seal and Navy shit.
Starting point is 00:40:32 Yeah, of course. And then I also, I would like to go to Cornwall for ancestral reasons, but that's also way out of the way. Right. Yeah, it's on the other side. I also want to go up. So there's different places I want to hike, like different scenic places like Cotswolds and Lake District I want to see.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I want to go say hi to Gareth. And my wife wants to go back to Edinburgh and Glasgow and also want to do the highlands. So I don't know. I don't know. There's like, we have to figure out. where we're focusing the trip on. And, yeah, this is my fault for being an anglophile. I'm a francophile, so at least we're both in hell together.
Starting point is 00:41:16 I will say my favorite thing is the Imperial War Museum does contain a flag from, I believe, an army regiment that just it's a skulled crossbones and it says shit or bust on it oh hell yes let me see if i can find it for you that oh my god that should be our flag it's it's it is uh broil navy landing craft lc t 157 right but you can you can get the flag oh hell yes oh god damn doesn't that look sick that is awesome one 7 shit or bust that I have newfound respect
Starting point is 00:42:10 is it was this an American landing craft or British British Royal Navy I well I am a little bit of a Royal Navy fanboy because of I mean dude like again like they they shit or bust what were they think shit or bust God damn I need it oh there's a shirt too yeah can't wear that though
Starting point is 00:42:31 you who wear to work yeah i i need i need that flag though uh that's the episode title she's now gonna be shitter bust um damn that fucking rocks um fuck what was i gonna say um i'm informing my wife about it the shitter bus flag yeah you need to fly that from the house man what about what if it was shit and bust championship shit and bust. There you go. That's that's that's that's that's one five eights.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Shit and busts. Shit and bust. They have a little rivalry. There's no reason you can't do them both at the same time. In it? Well, you got to ever had a blumpkin? Are you kidding by? God damn.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Is it a blumpkin if all I'm able to do is spark? I hate that word, Blumpkin. Oh, God. It's. It's so negative. It's, it's,
Starting point is 00:43:35 it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, what's the opposite of aesthetic? Like,
Starting point is 00:43:41 unesthetic, bad, on the, on aesthetic, pho-o-o-a-stetic? I'm just trying to think of a, of a classy way
Starting point is 00:43:47 of putting it, uh, just, ah, fuck, I don't know. Um, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:43:54 that, that, that's what we need to do. Um, shit. Where we were we talk, oh, we were talking about the Trump,
Starting point is 00:44:01 Trump shit. We're just, we're just, we're just, this is, I get to say though You wanted 45 minutes and we're basically there Good for us
Starting point is 00:44:10 When does CFB 27 come out? Does it come out this week? I thought so. I think it's in beta. Is it? I hate that shit. I just want to get it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:19 I'm just buying it on Steam. So I'll try after I get my hand out of it all if it's any good. It looks like like they have some made some good changes but they're starting to like gate some things. What do you call it? Paywall.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Yeah. Hang on. Insulting my wife now. Are you going to Mac? Yeah. How could you tell? Because how else would you be able to insult your wife? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:44:50 HLA 9th. She's like, I just made you a pirate flag. And I got to say about the shit or bust flag, this is not a pirate flag. No, it's not a pilot flag. Pilot flag. Pirate. the developers describe how their game uses
Starting point is 00:45:05 AI generate content like this. Creating more, you're using an LLM for play calls. What? It says creating more realistic play calls about CPU teams, trophy support, commentary, scripting support.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Brother what? Designed an RTG mode, story line content, design, inflammation and tuning. I don't know. They're just covering their ass for Steam. I mean,
Starting point is 00:45:28 I'm going to buy it, but if they start like, like they're like oh there's going to be some new ads in like the middle of the game it's like okay well like if it starts getting mods well that's what I'm getting on PC yeah yeah um I guess if I pre-order it I guess you suck my butt if I pre-order it do I get the plate now you ever been to the VNA yes it's an early access yeah the VNA the Victoria and Albert Museum I've never been the London I thought you just said you had oh I miss herge you then no no I've never been yeah never been in London all right I'll take you. Don't worry. Oh, thanks.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Yeah, I got you. No one ever wants to go to the Imperial War Museum. No, my wife has been there like seven times. So when I go, like... Will she take you to the Imperial War Museum? She might sit that one out, you know? I would love to... I would love to go to... Speaking of which, we can talk about this off-air, but I want to go to Gettysburg. Yes. I figured I would pick you up and, or you could drive down and then we'll pick up Matt
Starting point is 00:46:29 possibly Patrick. Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it. So on the last batting around, friends of the show batting around, they were joking about having their first, like live meetup or whatever, like the first batting around meetup at Gettysburg.
Starting point is 00:46:45 And I had to message them today and say, hey, if that happens, just so you know, we're coming. We can kind of cool. There's also the, it's the antique baseball festival. Oh, is there? Oh, brother, hang on. here it's actually this coming weekend

Starting point is 00:47:50 And I stepped up Right got a hit Actually nice double or not double, but nice liner out to the middle of right field. And then I overran first base and they said, you're out. I was like, what?
Starting point is 00:48:06 They're like, yeah, in 1867 rules or whatever. You can't, you can't overrun first base. Wow. So, yeah. Yep. All right. So I got to see, I got to, oh, so if I pre-purchase college football now for $100, the deluxe edition, I can play now.
