Starting point is 00:00:06 He is actually going to eject a fan. Because bad things happen in Philadelphia. Bad things. Joy it is to come to Philadelphia and stand here at Dodge Ice Ball. Dallas Town Boys. Head of Sassist, John Cooney. Well, we're recording, but Liam isn't yet, because he's, he's, that doesn't have audacity.
Starting point is 00:00:40 So we have to wait. Yeah. Hmm. I like zeros. I like zeros. Um. I don't know, Captain Planet, he's the hero. He's going to take pollution down the zero.
Starting point is 00:00:55 The solution to pollution is dilution. No, what was it? Looting and polluting is not the way. Here's what Captain Planet has to say. The power is yours. I'm doing the point, but you can't see me either because you're on a shitty computer. Liam dropped his Mac into the bathtub. It's a good computer.
Starting point is 00:01:16 I did not do that. He just threw it right to the bathtub. Fuck you, bud. He was, he was uploading something. It's a little spicy to the Plex and got caught. So he threw it into the bathtub to erase all. Yep, that's a logical. That's a logical thing to think.
Starting point is 00:01:34 I told you that's my dream, right? I had a nightmare that I, like, porn came up on my work computer. And I threw it into the, uh, oh, you never had that happen. Porn come up my work computer. That, yeah, not, not, not my teaching computers. Oh, I, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh. Oh, oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Yeah. What is this like the fucking... Oh, look at Mr. Perfect over there. Fucking, what's his name? Tim Robinson. Like, everybody can look at a little porn at work sometimes. Yeah. That egg, was it the Eggman?
Starting point is 00:02:07 You now have 80 eggs. Have you seen that? Oh, yes, yes, yes, yes. Dude, that... I came to his comedy late, but there, his... Whatever his brand is of comedy, however he does is this real shit sticks in my brain. like it lives in my
Starting point is 00:02:24 like anytime someone says the word tables now I'm just like tables and people are like what the fuck's wrong with you you're a bizarre human being that's my autism's comedy bits that's one of my autisms anyway now I thought you didn't have autism whatever we're calling it my neurodivergence
Starting point is 00:02:40 Autism has less syllables Oh I was told Was I lied to? By whom? Who told you? Who told you? I don't qualify. I don't qualify. I was just using his short hair for being not neurodivergent. I was said Nairo divergent. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:03:02 Nairo. Nairobi divergent. I have Nairobi divergent. I've never been there. Although I didn't meet someone from there. She had the most, the most beautiful accent. It was like really lovely. It was like, and she's a native English speaker to just have really nice. I don't know, it was like melodic. Yeah, yeah, yeah. cut that oh we're doing we're dog piling on the on the third world here today or the second world wherever you qualify that my dad's gonna execute me I think
Starting point is 00:03:32 if your dad does kill you you probably had it coming yeah not wrong honest to God not wrong I told you there was a cultural revolution that had to happen you're just like all right man wheeled it a whole bit all right well also meld in brush his teeth either
Starting point is 00:03:50 bud so you know well my dad brushes his teeth that's good that's good I'm glad to hear that that's probably why he's still kicking and mal isn't also yeah I mean I assume that was it probably that's probably the only reason
Starting point is 00:04:05 you gotta assume right exactly oh my god dude the the heat well you're struggling today I can I can I'm talking here in your voice I was up late we had a late night playoff game that we lost last night but uh that you lost
Starting point is 00:04:20 What was the score? Oh, shit. Say it. What was it 18 to 5? 18 to 5, I think. 19 to 5? 18 to 5. Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:33 We won our other game pretty well. This team is the reigning champs, and they're very, very good at just hitting where they're not. Also, you know, I'm underrated as a fielder. I'll leave that there. Are you? Yes, I actually am.
Starting point is 00:04:50 are you I am a pretty decent outfielder I track the ball very well I have you have you seen me run I run faster than a man my size I should how tall are you 511 are you can I mean I don't run fast
Starting point is 00:05:09 I hit hard that I don't run fast yeah I actually have a pretty good like like I accelerate fast to my top my top speed isn't very high but I accelerate fast yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, I have that problem. You know what it is?
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's fucking like 98, 95 right now. It's probably 100 where you are, Liam. So it's these lazy summer days. At least it's just like today and tomorrow. And I think it's just a chill. Although tomorrow the smoke arrives. Boston looks like the fucking surface of Mars. Yeah, I saw that.
Starting point is 00:05:46 Yeah, what are you going to do, right? Well, yesterday, talk about red sun. Um, yesterday, like, it was at noon. I'm like, why is the sun red? And I didn't know that smoke was coming. I genuinely didn't. And I was like in my brain, I'm like, is it smoke? Is it forest fire smoke?
Starting point is 00:06:08 Is there, was there a like a partial solar eclipse that I didn't know of, which would have been? They're just simply what's not aware of. Or I'm like, is this the foreboding sign of, of some sort of vengeance on this nation? Is this, is it for us? I was like, you know, I mean, that could go a couple of different ways. Not necessarily bad. You start filling my bathtub with water. Well, we had a good run, bro.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Well, I was going on the filling the bathtub of water that survived, not the do something else in. But, yeah, it's from, it's from the, did you read the road? You do whatever you got to do. Did you read the road? Yeah. Yeah. Cornwall car. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:53 That's what he said. He starts off. What a depressing. God damn. By redder than one sitting. It was good. But it's horrifying. Absolutely horrifying.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Right. Like the scene in the basement where the people are being kept alive for their meat is, uh, are we not doing that. Dude. Rim world players probably do that. But, uh. Catan players probably fucking do that too, frankly. Big, big crossover there between Rimworld and the, and so there's a Katan.
Starting point is 00:07:31 But yeah, dude, that will, that sticks to my head. And then the ending, there's a couple scenes. I've only read it once, but like, yeah, like where he's got the fake bullets. And he successfully, like, not deeks him out. What am I try to just bluffs him? Thinking that he's got the real bullets and his gun. That's a good scene. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:07:54 But the end, the end sticks in my head, too. I think I reread it must have like, like the actual ending. I think I went back and re-read it like four or five times. So like while I was reading it to get it. But because I do that, I don't know if you're like that. Do you ever notice that you're like skipped over something and you just go back and reread it? Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Yes. I mean, I'm sure everyone does that sometimes. But I do that just sometimes on purpose. It's like, if you don't do that, it's like, if you don't do that, actually a good habit. One of the things, we're going to go to English pedagogy here, literacy, is oftentimes schools will be like, all right, we have to do a first read and a close read. Actually, you can do them both at the same time.
Starting point is 00:08:39 You could just go, like, as you're reading, reread the, the key part that was like, oh, this seems like it's going to be important. Maybe it's, if you know, if you know we're looking for in advance, but I got to commit this, I got to commit this to a memory seven times. Yes, like he saw God's foot in the treadle of the loom and spoken. Therefore, his shipmates called him mad. It's from Moby Dick. I figured that's from Moby Dick.
Starting point is 00:09:04 I think we talked about it after I finished reading it. But that reminds you, I have to finish reading the Whale Ship Essex books. That way we can talk about ships. Talk about ships on the other podcast. Big ships. Ships that get stove in by whale. and for some reason only the guy... Have you ever read the perfect storm?
Starting point is 00:09:25 Have I read the perfect storm? Yeah. Yeah, I have. Great fucking book. It's all my TV read. You... Again. The crew of the...
Starting point is 00:09:37 I read it like in high school. Not the Andrew Doria. Is it the name of the ship? Andrew Doria. The Andrea Gale. Yeah, different ship. The Andrea Gale has nothing but my eternal loathing for what they did.
Starting point is 00:09:50 they put so many search and rescue people at risk. Or maybe the captain. We'll send it to the captain. Not the ordinary shipmates. But they put so many people at risk. Like absolutely insane behavior. It's just like I have no empathy for the, for the bounty. The HMS bounty,
Starting point is 00:10:08 uh, oh my God, what do you call it? Not remake, not replacement. Mutiny? Not rebuilt. They built a new, HMS bounty. Reboot? They had built
Starting point is 00:10:22 a new HMS bounty. A replica. Thank you. Thank you, Tom. There we go. So the replica of the HMS bounty, which sank during oh, fucking, what hurricane was it? It was Sandy. I think it was Sandy. And the Coast Guard response to that, but
Starting point is 00:10:42 it's, everyone told you not to take your shitty sailing ship out until a fucking hurricane, and you did it anyway. And now we have to do SIR for your dumb ass. Yeah, they're all fucking, uh, not sorry, that's survival. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Um, sorry. There we go. With survive, escape, the void. Survival evasion, resistance, and escape. Um, anyway. And we should talk about sports. Hello. Welcome to another episode of 10,000 loss is the only Philadelphia sports podcast that exists.

Starting point is 00:12:07 Apologies. Hey, we can't... We can't really say anything about his domestic policy. Pretty fucking good on that front, but... Foreign policy. Yeah, let's not talk about that. Let's not talk about Spain to Vietnam War. All right, moving on.
Starting point is 00:12:23 We'll give this to LBJ's foreign policy. Ah, you're full of shit. Fuck you. Speaking of full of shit, World Cup. England just lost, as we're recording now on the 15th. That was about 20 minutes ago. Yeah, England lost. Thank God.
Starting point is 00:12:42 The English are suffering. I didn't really care either way because I hate Argentina. Me too. Nazi. So we're going to have the colony versus the continent and I'm rooting for the continent. I'm rooting for Spain. Don't they have a socialist government in power right now?
Starting point is 00:12:59 Yeah, remember Franco? I don't like either of them. But yeah, he's not around anymore. He's dead. Let's see. I don't care. I don't forget. Of Spain.
Starting point is 00:13:08 And they expelled all the Jews. Who had? Who hadn't? I have a long, long memory. Quite a few didn't. Because that is. actually, that is an actual, like, neo-Nazi thing. It's like, the Jews have been expelled for every country they've ever been to. It's like, no. Yes, I'm not true. Well, for the, I know you know,
Starting point is 00:13:28 but for the audience. Um, yeah, well, hopefully the audience is not comprised of neo-nazis. And if you are a neo-Nazi, uh, grab your nearest firearm and, uh, follow your leader. Um, the president of, no, Prime Minister Spain is, uh, Pedro Sanchev. Pedro Sanchez Nailed it Um Perrette dehan No
Starting point is 00:13:53 They still a king Perth Casta Khan They still have a king Yeah They still have a king So the The ruling party is Partizo Sothia
Starting point is 00:14:04 Lista Ovrero Espeñol I do see that I'm also on the wiki They are center left But Um Um
Starting point is 00:14:14 They were They were They were They were He's pro Palestine I think they had some pretty decent takes during that, but yeah, so I'm going to support the socialist.
Starting point is 00:14:27 Corruption scandal, but it's Spain. I'm just ignoring this. It's in Europe. What else are you going to... That's how things get done. Yeah, no shit, dude. It's subway. These places have trains in metro
Starting point is 00:14:40 because they grease the fucking wheels with a little fucking, you know... Literally. That's not payback. What's the term for it? Paola? No, payola is when you... Ciminary?
Starting point is 00:14:52 I don't know. Simonry? We... I was the Vatican Metro was built by paying for office. I haven't heard this. I just haven't heard that word since probably church history in the junior year of high school. Um, that's up here for. No.
Starting point is 00:15:23 Kickbacks. Kickbacks. We get your guys jobs. You kick a little bit up the, you know, that's how it gets done. Like, anyway. Um, so yeah, that's, it's going to be, that's going to be the final, um, which is what, Thursday? Thursday, the Sunday. Sunday.
Starting point is 00:15:40 So you'll probably be hearing this before that happens. And, uh, then the, the, the, the third place match. will be England, France. Classic rivalry there. You know, real 100 years war. Go, go the, go the French. I'm an unapologetic Francophile. It's the one flawed of, I have.
Starting point is 00:16:00 I, I would be rude for France to that, in that case, too. Yeah. Thank you. I like in, aspects of England, literary, literary culture. I don't give a shit about their football team. I really like to just go
Starting point is 00:16:20 Eric King. He goals before the great. It's not coming home. It is not coming home. What was the last time they won? It's not. They ever win?
Starting point is 00:16:30 1960s. 166. Yeah. Oh, so they have to have a real labor government then. Like, not this fake whatever stupid shit they have now. They're worse than the Democrats in some things. Well,
Starting point is 00:16:44 they actually are because they're more transphobic than American Democrats. Somehow. Yeah. Well done, lads. Yeah, great job. We'll give, well, raise it. Raise it. Yeah, fuck you. Official fuck use to the labor party of Great Britain.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Give it to Ireland. Yeah, give it to Ireland. Fucking, yeah. Also probably transphobic, but who cares anymore? So, I don't think they're ass. I think they're pretty decent with that, comparatively. I haven't met, like, in my travel,
Starting point is 00:17:14 like every Irish person I've had this conversation come up with. And you know, I'm a weirdo who finds out people's politics pretty fast. Hasn't come up with. But I could be wrong. I mean, let's see. Irish transphobia compared to England. Hi. It looks like you're researching.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Yeah. Well, Ireland has historically been more progressive. Both countries have a rise. Yeah, well, we know that. This is five years ago. Ireland's better than the UK. Trans Ireland read it. Okay, I'll take that
Starting point is 00:17:51 Yeah Cultry, yes, I don't have violent rants of the UK We don't have violent rants It's transphobic coming from media It's much more preferable to the UK This is a trans person on the transreddit Yeah Oh and Spain did the crusade
Starting point is 00:18:06 Not the Crusades The Inquisition It wasn't just Spain I mean lots of inquisitions I have brother I know I also know how history works Listen, if you don't, if you don't have the expulsion of the Moriscos and the Spanish acquisition, that you don't get Spinoza in the Netherlands.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Hooray. You'll get all these like great Dutch artists that, like, oh, they happen to be Jewish because, you know, there's this cultural, you know. They have to go somewhere. And they're bringing your culture with them. And they happen to be very, you know, what's the word for it? literate and have a long culture Yeah Of art
Starting point is 00:18:48 That's because we weren't allowed to do anything else And they're like Why are the Jews doing us doing us Do anything else? I'm saying a culture of art and literacy But you went to the usury I'm allowed to do that Are you self-eating Jew Liam?
Starting point is 00:19:02 No I'm in everyone else hating Jill I'm misanthroping you I don't listen man I adore my people But they make it real fucking hard sometimes I was thinking for some reason because everything
Starting point is 00:19:17 they're just like oh yeah like you know what no you go oh I I get frustrated because it's like oh yeah like Stephen Miller at Jeffrey Epstein and all these fucking capos
Starting point is 00:19:30 you're like god they fucking suck and we have no we have no mechanism to like like I don't know break their bodies over the coals right but I think I think
Starting point is 00:19:39 as Zionism is on the outs politically United States it's gonna it's you'll you'll start to see some I am mad I don't know what it's like
Starting point is 00:19:50 being Jewish and dealing with other Jewish people who are Zionists I just it's frustrating don't say anything because it's I don't want to come off
Starting point is 00:20:00 the anti-Semitic but uh what was I going to say shit I was just going back to Tolkien and where Tolkien was saying in that letter that he wrote to the publisher when they asked him
Starting point is 00:20:11 if he had a Jewish ancestry. And he's like, I regret that I have no ancestry of this, like, talented people. And, uh, talked about how, like, much they contributed to the world. Um, so I was like, all right. You're welcome. And then if Jesus comes back, we'll get him again.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Pappow. Or as my dad says this time, we'll make sure he stays down. It's, it's, it's, okay. Here's, here's, so we talk about, like, actual, uh, like blood libel shit or whatever like that. The Jews killed Jesus thing. It's like, no, they actually. didn't. I know
Starting point is 00:20:43 Pilate said he's washing his hands. But who did the, who nailed the motherfucker? Who was whipping him? It wasn't Jews. It was the Romans. The Romans fucking did it. You know what's funny? I one of the first conversations, not one of the first
Starting point is 00:20:59 conversations I had with Corinne, but when we were early on dating, I was like saying casually like, yeah, the church has been historically very anti-Semitic and this and that and blah, blah, blah. And she was like, she like did do because she didn't meet any Jewish people until college apparently and then I was like well who killed Jesus and she goes the Romans and I was like
Starting point is 00:21:21 damn it I mean that's not I mean I was not we're we're every well it's ever since Vatican too but there used to be older Catholics might think that because of there used to be in the was it the good Friday prayer there was a yes the perfidy of the yeah Yeah, and they change the language. Now, I think it's just like, hey, I hope the Jews are doing pretty good today. I hope they're all right. I do like about Pope Francis that he closed the case for Pius the 12th's beatification. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:00 He was like, nah, we're not doing that. Yeah. Because Pius of 12th was a Nazi. Yes. He was a Nazi. If there were 12 people at a table and 11 of them are Nazis, what's the 12th person, Tom? It's a Nazi. The,
Starting point is 00:22:13 the, um, what's, you know, what's funny is the Nazis didn't like them either. Did you know that? Yeah, he just, he,
Starting point is 00:22:23 yeah, the Pope. Yes, it did. Go out there and die, man. Complicated human being. Go on.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Go out there and die. Complicated human being. I'm not saying he was a good guy. Go out there and meet your face. Go out there and meet your face. I think he, I think, I think Pius to the 12th was a,
Starting point is 00:22:39 I mean, he was a conservative. and he hated communism and he's like one of these guys and he's like oh I didn't realize how bad things were you know yeah kind of guy dickhead
Starting point is 00:22:54 yeah and I don't think he gave a shit about the Jews he was he was more upset with the the church being suppressed in Germany for the was the cult the culture comp for the cure comp whatever that because they tried to make their own state church you know the Nazi one
Starting point is 00:23:13 this is why this is why you can't trust Germans Christians Catholic specific I was going to say Germans I mean I don't like Germans we've been I think very clear on that Oh my God we went we went to dinner
Starting point is 00:23:27 With a So like with a friend of a friend And she went on a trip to Germany Like right before the wall fell It was like I must have been a trip Yeah But she said she hates Germans
Starting point is 00:23:44 Because of how weird they were And I'm like Well that was like 1989 or whatever Like that's not You know That's before I was born She's like I still hate the Germans
Starting point is 00:23:54 I was like okay It's like all right I was like I you know I could take or leave them I've met some Germans that are pretty chill I met some of asshole Germans Um Oh have you
Starting point is 00:24:06 I think I've only met asshole Germans Uh Oh yeah you got to pull us a beer like this that guy the engineer my old job he was kind of a prick he's the one
Starting point is 00:24:16 I stole the accent you can say his name man if you even remember it John Johann Walter um
Starting point is 00:24:23 Johan prickle you bleep that I guess I don't know I don't I don't even remember if that was his name fucking like anybody really um
Starting point is 00:24:34 my the one I was talking about the guy who lectured you on beer was named Walter Walter yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:24:40 yeah yeah he was annoying they are they're all annoying dude they're Germans oh I don't know what it is is a sense of superiority it's like oh
Starting point is 00:24:53 the competent people are here but yeah don't worry we'll kick your fucking teeth in a third time they were they were oh dude now I'm trying to think there was in Munich
Starting point is 00:25:07 the last the last night in Munich this guy at the restaurant we went to it was after that eight hour train ride and I accidentally like I'm walking in and it's very narrow and there's like a bar stool and I
Starting point is 00:25:22 like my phone in my pocket caught the bar stool and then like I pushed it back with like my knee back in the spot and I kept going and the guy was like how buddy what is what's your problem with the bar stool
Starting point is 00:25:38 and I'm like looking at him I'm exhausted so I can't like formulate a response and it's like it didn't do anything to you for you to treat it like that and I said he hit me first he's like ah there's one to call to police then
Starting point is 00:25:57 I was like no it's all good I was okay and then like when he was shut up and then he would yeah and like my wife is like what the fuck is like with this guy fucking people and and he comes like after I order the beer he's like here's the beer you know you don't deserve it
Starting point is 00:26:14 and then he like grabs me on the shoulder and is like does like that ah thing and yeah yeah so after after we left oh I know you do well with strangers touching you a tail I mean I'm not I'm used I'm used to that kind of shit but yeah definitely a personal space violation
Starting point is 00:26:36 I think it's disrespectful to touch somebody you don't know. I think you should. Yeah. If it's if it's like no I yeah I completely like you shouldn't touch something like you shouldn't grab someone's body that you don't know. Um, you know the only time it's acceptable there I was Tom at the Sixers Knicks game. Right. Something like that. When a Knicks fan kept saying the F slur and I grabbed him and he took exception to that and I was like I make two of you. Do you want to do this in front of your children? Oh, you didn't you didn't say the part where you grabbed them when you told the story.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Yeah, I grabbed him. You never see the listeners calling and listen to that episode. Did he say he grabbed him? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I said that. I, oh, yeah, I grabbed him. I grabbed his shoulder because I was sitting behind him.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Well, there's like, there's like certain times where you get attention. Amen, amen, amen. You say the F slur or enough times you're going to get grabbed. You'll be all right. Or, you know, you're on a fucking sports team with and you know, someone that hits a fucking home run,
Starting point is 00:27:39 Yeah, you grab his shoulders, whatever. Like, we don't do the smack your ass thing. But like, yeah, like, do we not? It's, that's dying, man. I don't know if you know that. I've been doing it all wrong, man. You're getting, like, under the cheek and lifting. Yeah, it's a real examination.
Starting point is 00:27:58 So, so back to back to Munich, but like, we're leaving. Back to my story. It's all right. It's who gives a shit? The. we were doing like a debrief and like like yeah the food was good the beer was fine my wife's like what the fuck was up with this guy and i was like i was like i was like and she's like i looked at reviews like of the place and like some people were complaining about this one server i was like
Starting point is 00:28:26 it's probably him he probably thinks he's a fucking jokester but she's i'm like i actually think he was actually pissed at me uh that like i bumped in and that he was trying to you, like, trying to see what I was going to do and get under my skin. And I just, I don't give a shit. So I just defuse it with humor like I usually do. And then she was like, I saw his face more than you. And I think he was seething that he couldn't get under your skin. I think it was like bothering him that you pissed him off just because of that.
Starting point is 00:29:02 It's like, oh yeah, this fat American came in and like bumped my, bump my table and didn't like push it back to back. world war champs. Yep. Fucking ring the bell, baby. I was telling you my father a lot didn't know we fought in World War I. Oh, but this is cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Okay, bud. It was tough. I was like, really? And he was like, we fought World War I was like, who do you think fought World War I? Are you serious? Remember that propaganda poster? I said the Lafayette,
Starting point is 00:29:40 we have returned or we are here for you. Yeah, I sent that in the family group chat with no explanation. I was like, read history. Man. I know that everyone has the education, but you get to a certain place of privilege. You should know. At some point, you got to know some stuff.
Starting point is 00:29:58 They should teach you that in school. Like, they do teach that in school. I don't know how you didn't pick that up. Like, I don't. Well, because he went to Ryan, dude. Ryan has some academic standards. So I don't know What track were you in at Ryan?
Starting point is 00:30:15 Did you do a lot of wood shop? Not that there's anything wrong with that, but You know, I listen I have two of the three girls I dated their dads have gone to Ryan Make it make sense Oh, that's weird That is weird I don't like that
Starting point is 00:30:29 It's some sort of fate shit Oh It's like I can't fight fate The the norns have weed for you the uh this this uh woman um
Starting point is 00:30:43 oh yes I remember this gentleman see they do have intelligent people that have gone to Ryan very intelligent people actually what could have been nah uh she she was
Starting point is 00:31:01 we broke up I broke up with her because when Trump got elected in 16 she was like I don't see what the big deal was and I was like I refuse to accommodate that I hear you I get it I was gonna try to make a joke
Starting point is 00:31:12 about fixing bells like I can fix her I couldn't she has a husband and a child now I think but did that did I ever tell you
Starting point is 00:31:22 that there was there was one time I was scrolling Instagram like one of my recommended was this you don't ever
Starting point is 00:31:29 go on Instagram this is your first mistake I barely ever go on Instagram so this was we're talking years years ago
Starting point is 00:31:35 and yeah yeah I scroll and there There's this girl I dated a couple dates with before I met a... Mm-hmm. And like... Bleep that.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah. Before I met wife. And she... This girl was like smit with me. She was like head over here. Like, it was almost so much that I was like... The reason I didn't pursue it was I was a little put off. Like kind of repulsed.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Right. Like I guess I would... I can... No, you are not crazy. I can identify with that. And it's not like, oh, she's like, it was just like... There's nothing like I'm not ready for that yet. very pretty
Starting point is 00:32:09 Yep Yep Yep Yep Quite Interesting in many ways And very intelligent And definitely compatible
Starting point is 00:32:17 But just how like I don't know They just weirded me out And I get like that And I was like this is too easy almost Like how is this Right right
Starting point is 00:32:29 This is like Probably some imposter syndrome shit going on too But I scroll And it's like her and her husband and they're like baby it was like i was like wife my wife miss mrs mrs pain come over here and the guy looks just like me like like she was like fuck it if i'm not gonna have tom she had a type i'm gonna have the closest i can get to him the type uh listen i
Starting point is 00:33:01 it's funny i i was going through my uh my my my records uh uh uh uh And I was noting all the like I was talking to my wife about all the girls I've ever dated and they're all just like either Blons who look like aliens two or very bossy curly-headed brunettes which is like also two and then Oh my god my Is that everyone? I think so My high school X does not fit that criteria, but she married a man with fetal alcohol syndrome So who won that one? Ooh.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Oh, that's tough. Yeah, that's not my fault. Yeah. I only bring this up because she told me she was breaking out with me because she couldn't get past my looks. And she married a man with Philoak. You might have to bleed that whole segment.
Starting point is 00:33:53 That's all right. We're not doing anything. We got time. We got DMs. We can, we can, I mean, let's talk about the home run derby. All-Star game. Do you give a shit about?
Starting point is 00:34:05 I didn't watch either. Um, I watched most of the, the home run derby and about three innings of the All Star game before I fell asleep because it was that fucking. I've never particularly cared for the All Star game. I feel like every year, it's more boring. I just get worse. Yeah. It's it's everyone was like I was seeing people complaining about how the, uh, broadcast was like, well, it was like comparing it to the Democratic party, always trying to chase this person who's never watched baseball versus just,
Starting point is 00:34:37 making it really, really cool for the baseball fans. Yeah. I don't... Yeah, I'll buy that. Yeah, I mean, I got really frustrated. I was, I said as much that I got really frustrated with the, uh, the, uh, Netflix broadcast of the home run derby I thought was absolutely fucking garbage. I thought it was basically unwatchable.
Starting point is 00:34:58 And at one point, I muted it because the mixing was that fucking bad. Yeah, that's that, that fucking sucks. I only witnessed. the home run derby through my teammates who were primarily concerned with their bets and it's like man when I can when I really fucking start hitting well
Starting point is 00:35:25 because like I've been getting better every every time I go out but like man I just want to be the home run guy and then be like all right guys listen out because it's like oh he hits ball real hard I'll listen to him It's so weird being in that sort of jock high school guy kind of
Starting point is 00:35:46 like universe and I've always been welcome in it I've always been a nerd and also athletic so I kind of fit in both worlds but as I get more comfortable I let more of the nerd shit out but man it's it's hard like just what passes for
Starting point is 00:36:09 I love the guys they're all a bunch of lovable goofballs but it's like oh my god what the fuck I what am I doing here except for you if you're the one listening to this they don't know about the podcast they never will
Starting point is 00:36:26 anyway I'll tell them go ahead all right Oh, the one last thing I wanted to note, MLB draft. The Phillies with their first run pick drafted a shortstop who missed his senior year injury. I hate this tab. I hate this content.
Starting point is 00:36:51 Whatever. All right. So we promise you guys a mailbag. We have a shitload of DMs. We have like five DMs, five fucking voicemails maybe. Um, so yeah, we're going to go through them. Uh, there's a couple DMs just they're from like middle of June. Like, it's basically Charlie's.
Starting point is 00:37:12 If he got cut off, it's not personal. It's not personal. It's, I used, everyone still got included. It's just that, you know, we don't need to recap world cup stuff that happened the month ago. Um, wait one second. My, my wife was calling me. I'm back.
Starting point is 00:37:26 All right. Everything all right? Got it. All good? Yes, sir. Yeah, my wife wanted to remind me that the vegetable pickup ends at seven. Okay. Get your veggies.
Starting point is 00:37:40 So, well, before seven. All right. Well, let's get into the DMs then. We got first one is from Henry. Yay, Liam, it made the... Oh, I want to read this one. Damn it. I can't do his voice, but...
Starting point is 00:37:57 Hey, Liam, and may the force be with you, Tom. Henry from Minnesota, pronouncing him reporting him with an initial text-based report. on 2026 Evo in Las Vegas. I hate the setting. Doing my personal highlights here so don't go over the voicemail a little bit later. Not that I ever would. First of all, for anyone who could be proof if they did not get first place in a tournament,
Starting point is 00:38:13 the FlyQuest booth is giving out free t-shirts that read, I am a loser, which is very nice. My buddy Chris got 17th in Virtual Fighter, a game that is mostly populated by insane people. We've been playing the game for 15 years, so this place that was really impressive. Finally, visit a place called Seagles, all-caps, bagel-mania!
Starting point is 00:38:30 Bagelmania! Which was really good. It's not funny game-related, but I thought it was worth mentioning. Hope we both had a good summer vacay. I'll be calling with a workshop shortly after I get home. Bye-bye. All right. Well, thanks, Henry.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I like bagel mania. Yeah, and Henry did call in. So we do have a voicemail firm when we get to there. But yeah. But congrats to your buddy, Chris, for a guy play 15 years to get the 17th place. But by understanding, that's a very competitive tournament. So good for him. Yeah, so too bad.
Starting point is 00:39:00 All right. We got Kyle. Hey, Tommy. Yeah. Liam is his California Cleveland. Pronouncy him. I'm texting you in the week hours of 7th July. Yeah, it was like 2.30 in the fucking morning.
Starting point is 00:39:09 Following a team USA loss, I was rooting for our boys up to the point where Donnie Diels asterisk our team to hell. Just when I was getting into football that I don't know if you feel comfortable saying cock sucker on the air if need be just bleep it out had to ruin it for me.
Starting point is 00:39:25 We think we say cock suckers are a positive thing, so we won't use it as an insult. Anyway. So I guess I'm now rooting for Norway to beat Turf Island. I'm going to channel my hatred for Trump's meddling with the red flag for USA into Red Card. It's a fueling team Norway.
Starting point is 00:39:41 I hope that Norway will embrace their Viking roots in Sack, England like they did at Lindisfarne. That being said, I've caught the football bug. It's a fever. It's a fever. And the only solution is more football. I can't do a walk. I used to be able to do a spot on walking back in that day. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:39:59 I'm still very new to the sport, but I found my new MLS team. Unfortunately, it's the Columbus crew. I say unfortunately because the team is home by James Jimmy Don't Haslam. I know that's going to give me negative Roshin points. How many Roshin points do we all have? That's me editorializing there. But it's either the crew or the team from Minnesota. I'm already of Vikings Wild Golden Gophers in Frost Fan.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I can't just automatically go from Minnesota whenever an Ohio team pisses me off. Also, the Minnesota MLS team, their mascot is a fucking loon. A literal loon. Can you still hear me? Fuck the twins. Yes, I can. Okay, because my internet is now dropping again. I'm having the same network issues I was having earlier.
Starting point is 00:40:43 Is it just plug through and see what happens? Yeah. I guess you'd send me the local if... I didn't see you drop off on the recording, though. I know. I don't know what's going on. We'll just run it. All right, you want to read Wayne?
Starting point is 00:40:59 Well, I close the tab. Now I can't. Control shift, too. Yeah. A problem solver. There we go. Thank you. I forgot that.
Starting point is 00:41:07 I forgot my Firefox shortcuts. Nope. It crashed. Really? Yeah. Oh, there we go again. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:41:15 I don't know what's happening. It would look good on my end. No, it's just intermittent. I don't know what's, can you read the next one while I try to get this up? Hey, Tommy,
Starting point is 00:41:24 Hey, Liam, Wayne here pronouncing him about to recap arguably one of the most embarrassing stories I've ever read. It comes from Ireland and involves both soccer and hurling. So the Fetianian, AI had their draw for the FAAI Cup a while back
Starting point is 00:41:36 and Cork's semi-pro side Ring Mahan Rangers drew Bohemians as their opponent in the second round of the competition. However, Ringmahan's announced that they would not be able to play the match because it was the same day as the All-Ireland senior hurling final.
Starting point is 00:41:51 It was expected that Cork would be in the final so Ringmahan drew from the competition and awarded Bose the win via a walkover. Fast forward to July 4th and Cork lost the semi-final to Galway 2 to 26 to 1 to 18 So Ringmahan Forfeited the game because they look too far ahead
Starting point is 00:42:10 And too much around them And they lose out in the money They could have gotten from the match against the Bose In terms of the share of the gate receipts and prize money Edit they just posted on social media They're not looking for a team to play a friendly against On July 19th laughing my fucking ass off So remember folks, if you want to see a big sporting event
Starting point is 00:42:26 Maybe talk to folks to schedule the times around said event As always fuck fascism, fuck Penn State And fuck the seat And then there was an update. Hey, guys, we're now with update to this. The FAAI have announced that the Ringman Rangers are now, and this is a bad from the FAAI Senior Cup for five years and the Intermediate Cup for three years.
Starting point is 00:42:45 It's all caps. They've also been fine, uh, 5,000 euro. No, thanks for that. Rain, uh, rain, Wayne, Wayne. Rain. I was just trying to say, I was going to look at a rare way. Wow. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Uh, why doesn't anything work? in this fucking house. I was looking up a ringmahan where that is in the court area. I can hear you. Great, I just can't do anything. Oh, that sucks.
Starting point is 00:43:17 I'm a captive audience. It's just like your thing's frozen. I can hear you perfectly. This is what I'm confused by. None of my webpages are loading. It is clearly an issue with this PC because the server is getting internet Gotcha
Starting point is 00:43:33 Yeah, it's loading Yeah, something's something's like It's like your control Shift escape not working Just nothing No, nothing's working That's so fucking weird It's an internet issue
Starting point is 00:43:48 I just don't know what the internet issue is It's bizarre This I was looking up where Ballet Mahan is And I misread the name of a not municipality, but a region of the Cork area as Ballytranza, which I'm like, hell yeah. Ballytraza rights.
Starting point is 00:44:09 But it's Ballytrosna. I've driven past these places, but I've never been to them when I stayed outside of Middleton. I'm so mad. I'm the madest anyone's ever bad. I honest to God might be, Tom. It's all right, buddy. I'll read the next one.
Starting point is 00:44:29 I'll read Charlie. just run them all. You got to do that while I try to fix this. If I drop, I drop, go on without me. I'll pick up your computer and run with it. Carry on. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, Tommy, Ye, Liam, Charlie for Roxburgh.
Starting point is 00:44:45 He, him recapping the quarterfinals of the World Cup. We're at the semifinals now, but we'll let this one happen. France and the Foutiszt's roll on with a 2-0 win over Morocco with goals by Mbapap and DeBelle and sent Ashraf Hakimi back to France. to face the rape charges. Jesus Christ. Ha, ha, ha, ha, on Les Blue. Spain got another late winner from Arsenal's
Starting point is 00:45:06 Mike Marino after trading goals in the first half of Belgium. The one two to the one. Spain goes to Jarre World to take on France in semifinals and Spain won. Unfortunately, the other Satan beat Norway with Jude Bellingham's second goal in... The other Satan? The extra time to push them out in the semifinals 2 to 1. Obviously, England just lost. Norway got the first goal in the second, in the first half.
Starting point is 00:45:30 help from the cable of the SkyCam in Miami that led to the first Bellingham goal at the end of the first half. Norway had a potential winner vared by push by Holland that waved off the goal. Norway won that game. They played the better game. They should have advanced. In the final game in Kansas City,
Starting point is 00:45:46 Argentina beat Switzerland with two goals and extra time and went three to one. Argentina got far at five minutes after left laying the match when Breel and Blolo Glob Shido it was getting his second yellow for diving after a view on a yellow card and mistaken identity. Which winner takes this
Starting point is 00:46:02 Falkland semifinals between England, Argentina, and Atlanta. Rick, we said it was Argentina that won. As always, fuck hate. Fuck hate. Fuck hate. Fuck hate, too. Um, well,
Starting point is 00:46:14 certain guys, hate, hating fascists is always good. As always, fuck Penn State. That's true. Fuck herikimi. I don't know who these people are. Fuck Johnny Baby and RIP
Starting point is 00:46:23 Pose of the Lindsay Graham, Connor McGregor's knee, and most likely Mitch McConnell. Um, yeah, I co-signed all that. All right. We have a very interesting one here from, from Jay.
Starting point is 00:46:42 Jay's not that, Jay. So, hey, Tom, Ye, Liam, this is Jay from Central Ontario, pronouns, he, him. First, I wanted to say that I really enjoy listening to the pod. Don't do the accent. What accent? Even though I've never really been into sports. I suppose that's through the power of riffing. I'm going to...
Starting point is 00:47:02 As a fellow enjoyer of being beefy guys, I'm kind of getting into rugby, especially for my rugby team here. Are you ready for this? Yeah, bud. All right. I want to shout out Jay for providing me the IPA. Now, it's not syllabized,
Starting point is 00:47:23 but I think I can get through this. Nugugged... Iwo Nung All right, so Nug, Nug, Uj, Ong, Oj,
Starting point is 00:47:37 Iu, on Ong, Noguangung. It's a Claw, O, Oat, vowel, yeah, Cot vowel. It's an Ojibwe name.
Starting point is 00:47:53 According, according to family legend, that's, our Mady ancestor was, was mixed with with Ojiwee. Nogu Nogu
Starting point is 00:48:05 Ong Noguany. Noguwanung. Peterborough, Ontario. The Peterborough Pagans, anyway, that's the name of their team. Anyways, I'd like to let you, I'd like to know what you guys think about these
Starting point is 00:48:19 bus liveries for the Hamilton Street Railway in Hamilton and Niagara Transwent. In Niagara region up here in Ontario. Some of them were older or some of the were newer. Well, your webcams back. Yeah, no, that's fine. And the horns are still working, but I can't open a Firefox window. Do you have, like, Edge?
Starting point is 00:48:37 I have Chrome, which is what I run this in. And that's also not working. Some of these liveries are pretty sick. That's great. Do you want to put them in the chat? It does not matter. It will not work. All right, so I'm going to take a look at the different liveries of here real quick.
Starting point is 00:48:55 Thank you. That's a blue and gold That's all blue Kind of looks like a school bus All red, I mean all yellow The red and blue one Fuck Hey you can go to the Discord
Starting point is 00:49:15 To decide which one you like Anyways go pagans, go birds, go Phil's go owls Fuck Doug Ford to fuck Penn State Thank you Jay I appreciate that You're right there Hang out Yeah brother Do you want me to turn your webcam off for you?
Starting point is 00:49:26 no give me a second I'm gonna pause reporting I'm gonna kill the internet yeah I pause it wow okay let's see if that worked probably not nope all right just run it all right we're at the we're at voicemails now alright right um all right let's listen to I think our first one I think is Jared uh I'm not sure very fill so I couldn't pick up the name, but let's hear it. Hey, Tom, Ely, I'm scared from the Northeast, pronounced he, him, checking in once again from the parking lot that is Interstate 95.
Starting point is 00:50:08 I was listening to the latest episode, and you all were saying out like, oh, there's no voice spells anymore. Excuse me. It reminded me how the last time I called in sounded like a, I was eulogizing a funeral after Phillies threw their season away. And that was, I rewashed, I re-listened to it this morning. I was like, shit. That was a, that was pretty depressing.
Starting point is 00:50:29 So, uh, here I'd come in with a little more, a little peppier mood, uh, after my brief hiatus. But, uh, yeah, I mean, I, I just want to talk about, man, the fucking World Cup, I think it, like, is the greatest, like, advertisement for Philadelphia, perhaps, like, ever. Um, especially with the way, like, New York or slash New Jersey is handling shit, like, at MetLife. I think it just makes the sort of vibes we got going in Philly all the better. It seems like a lot of the teams that are coming to visit are really enjoying the city. It seems like they're just kind of enjoying America as a whole, which I don't really know how to feel about that, just because, you know, look at everything. But, yeah, I think, like, I mean, shout out, SEPTA, right?
Starting point is 00:51:17 I mean, NJ. Trans is charging $100 to take a train to MetLife, except that's $290, and you get your ride back for free. I don't know. I think, I mean, Ecuadorians discovered the hard way how, you know, don't fuck with Rocky. But, yeah, I mean, hell, you know, I don't think the Phillies are going to win the World Series. But, you know, baseball, good baseball in the summer just makes the heat that much more enjoyable. So, until next time, appreciate you guys. Fuck Penn State. Fuck A.J. Brown.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Fuck the GOP. Fuck the Mets. Fuck the Cowboys. Fuck the Sixers. there we go it just died that'll do it all right
Starting point is 00:51:58 there's no it's gonna come back well you have your local we'll see if it uploads what's it say on your end I mean if we could just if you want to do it with locals we can just finish us out yeah we could do that
Starting point is 00:52:11 your local's good all right let's do it it looks that way um the only thing no I just have to insert we can still hear the I'll just have to insert it manually
Starting point is 00:52:22 it's not a big deal I feel like the last end that Jared's like died out but yeah thanks for calling in I do think it definitely shows like American people are decent even if their government's absolutely fucking horrible
Starting point is 00:52:41 and that filled off as a cool city it's nice to get people to Philly that would never go to Philly I agree especially because we have this stupid reputation that like were this horrible city that's that's mostly New York propaganda they just don't they want you to go there instead
Starting point is 00:53:00 and fuck them for it but yeah thanks for coming in Jared and I hope everything's going well since the circumstances have changed since you last called in so we have a nice little shit talk here from an anonymous Padres fan hey so I'm here and listening to 10,000 losses and y'all are going on in the executive dysfunction episode about how you sweep the Padres. As a Padres fan and as the San Diego Native,
Starting point is 00:53:31 I hope the key caps fall out of your keyboard and that every sandwich you have in the next two weeks has way too much mayonnaise on it. Go Padres. Love San Diego. Adios. Well, thank you, Anonymous Padres fan. We do fuck with Sanchez. Diego. I like San Diego a lot, actually.
Starting point is 00:53:54 Speaking of San Diego, did you see that the HMS, the Maritime Museum is going to shut down the HMS rows, their HMS surprise? Yeah, it's, they said it's too expensive to maintain. So you got about a year until August 2027.
Starting point is 00:54:13 So I was like, that tells my wife, I said, hey, maybe we need to go San Diego because both times I was there, I wanted to go and I couldn't go because it was closed. So I would like to make that pilgrimage. Oh, this is going to have a full fucking reboot. He's offline.
Starting point is 00:54:28 He's completely off-flying. All right. So, folks, Liam has been blue-screened. So we're going to plug on without him. I guess his computer has finally died or whatever. Maybe he should reconsider torrenting. Folks, call in to the show. 26737-17-218.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Let us know what you think. thing about Liam torrenting while he plays uh what he plays torrenting while he records the podcast um all right we got um all right we got uh next up we got wayne so i have damed but we got a we got a call for him too hi domi Liam is Wayne pronoun to him uh Charlie Ari recapped the good portion of the World Cup basically
Starting point is 00:55:16 so I'll recap everything else uh Bohemians um they still play extremely shrieky football. They lost a couple matches to the point where people were
Starting point is 00:55:30 starting to call for Alan Reynolds' head again. And as soon as people started calling for Alan Reynolds' head again, Bohemians all of a sudden decided to play like Barcelona, circa 2000, with Leonel Messi. They've won two in a row now,
Starting point is 00:55:46 once against Sheld and once against St. Patrick's Athletic. They're now in two. to second place in the League of Ireland. Unfortunately, there are seven points behind Shamrock Rovers, who are looking almost nearly run away with the title at this point. They will play their first European game in years. Right after the week after the 4th of July,
Starting point is 00:56:13 they'll take on St. Joseph's so-called club of Gibraltar. Okay. The match, well, the match are dead. Carlos Milos has been fired. More than likely Cerns is going to get fired. Everyone is probably going to want fucking Steve Cohen to fuck off with the casino and all the other bullshit. And I'm just fed up with the mess. I'm fed up with baseball.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Just fuck everything about the New York fans. And that would probably be about it. Fuck Steve Cohen. Fuck Ben State. And I am not running for the U.S. Ben's national team under any fucking circumstance. But yeah, thanks to update. I guess we have to have the Bose are now our default Irish League of Ireland. Sorry, I was going to say Irish League, League of Ireland team.
Starting point is 00:57:18 So I appreciate the updates there. I didn't know that Mondani was also a Bose fan. I think you might have actually said it, Wayne. But yeah, and sorry about the vets. Not really, but, you know, it is what it is. But thanks for calling and Wayne, appreciate the update. All right. Now we have Henry, who did promise to call him with some extra information.
Starting point is 00:57:48 Yay, Liam and Bah, weep, Gragna, weep, Nini-Bong, Tom. Henry from Minnesota here, pronouns he, him, with my Evo 2026 roundup that I'll do in under three minutes, just like I always do. Now, I had fun at this event, but there was a lot about it that just kind of felt like the event is kind of rotting from the inside out. Stuff like a ton of big names on both player and commentator side, straight up just not attending. Near constant technical issues, annoying light-up wristbands that we couldn't turn off. Brackets being delayed by hours because of all the ads that were being played in between matches. And everything being like a branded thing, like the AT&T, post-match interview. or whatever, which is weird because I didn't think you would need all those things since your Saudi backers have infinite money.
Starting point is 00:58:35 Right? Anyway, the main highlight that I wanted to talk about was a game at the event called Vampire Savior, or Darkstalkers 3 in the U.S., a game that has been being played since it released upwards of 30 years ago. It's got a super unique art style and characters. It was fascinating to watch, and most importantly, it is responsible for introducing the concept of succuby to the wider Japanese public. Oh, boy. Thank you for that for other reasons. Yeah, they didn't even know about that.
Starting point is 00:59:01 Since the game primarily played at arcade cabinets in Japan, the players all had very unique setups to try and replicate the feeling of playing in an arcade, like having a tripod stand for their controller, or in one guy's case, literally taping his chair to the ground live on stage. It was very funny. And finally, at the end of the entire event, Evo Management came up on stage and talked about their local grants program, where they have, I think they said, about a million dollars. to award to different local tournaments that you would get by signing up online in order for Evo to fund these local events and therefore kind of ingratiate these local events to Evo. I've talked about it before how this seems to kind of be a ploy for the money behind Evo to just kind of own the entire scene. But also, you know, gives your local tournaments a million dollars. or something to play around with. So as long as the money doesn't dry up,
Starting point is 01:00:01 then everything should be fine, which surely there's no chance of that happening. Right, guys? Right? Anyway, that's all for me for now, lad. So once again, I hope you both had a good vacation. And Falk Penn State. Bye-bye.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Thanks again, Henry. It's always enjoyable to hear your voice, Colin. We, um, what was I going to say? The, um, I'm not surprised, though, that, you know, the ever encroaching threat of private capital and this kind of stuff just wants to subsume everything within itself. It's, it's, it's, I'm sure, like you said, nothing, nothing bad will probably happen. So I'm doing some research in here to, it's the public investment fund. it's funny as I came across
Starting point is 01:00:57 this is funny that there's this company called Grim Frost and they're like most of their clothing is very cringe-worthy fake Viking shit they actually sell real like historical like style stuff
Starting point is 01:01:16 but their actual clothing is if you were to wear in the United States you'd be pegged as a neo-Nazi very quickly but the guy who started the company is Jan Haig from Amon Amarath and he's not he's a Swedish celebrity's not a Nazi but I found out the other day that actually that company while he's still like the front man for the company this thing that sells pagan heathen nor shit
Starting point is 01:01:51 is also owned by the Saudis, I think was an embrasure group, whatever like that. So I find that very amusing, considering that if you thought Christianity's attitude towards paganism was a little unpleasant, wait till you find out what Islam says, especially Saudi-style Islam. But yeah, thanks again for that, Henry. Then we have one more voicemail from some anonymous hero. Hey, Tom, dear William. What do you call an unemployed father judge grad? One of the good ones.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Anyways, long live north, Buckford Alley, Buck Judge, Buckham State. Hell yeah. All I'll say is onward, onward, behold where dawns the glory.
