This is Rick Rubin. Hello. I'm Roman Mars.
I don't know if it's gonna work. I just thought it was a funny idea. I've heard it so many times.
No, totally, totally, totally.
So Rick Rubin, tell me about your new podcast.
Well, I've been doing the Broken Record podcast for the last five years and it was a really
fun experience.
What was most interesting about it to me was that I interviewed people that I had never
met before and that was fun.
But when I interviewed people that I know really well, that it may be I've known for 30
years, I learned a tremendous amount about them.
And these are
some of my best friends. So it led me to have a better understanding of we really know very little
of the people that were around a lot unless you actually sit down to interview them. So through
that process of that experience, I thought, well, it'd be really nice to do this with all kinds
of people, not just musicians,
and the Broken Record Podcast was specifically with musicians, and I'm interested in all kinds of people making all kinds of things.
That sounds fantastic. So, who are you going to be speaking to for the show?
Well, I imagine I'll be speaking to directors, actors, designers, artists,
or professional wrestlers,
cause I like pro wrestling,
but whoever's interesting at that moment,
is there a central unified theory
of what makes them interesting to you
and the things you wanna get out of them
when you speak to them?
There's never an agenda of what I wanna get out of them
other than better
understanding of who they are. I come in blank and I usually leave blank too, honestly.
I invite them to become more blank with me. I love it.
