Starting point is 00:00:16 Right, here's our extra Friday special, our extra nugget, our show and tell, and where we ask our guests to bring along something that brings them joy. And what have you brought along, Chris? Now you've got a big bag with you. Do you know what? I brought three different things. Okay, go for it. Right.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Well, I'll tell you what. You've got a huge bag. The first one is it's come wrapped in cardboard here to protect it. I love music. Right. I love vinyl. So I have brought one of my Pearl Jam albums on vinyl, which is Pearl Jam MTV Unplugged on vinyl.
Starting point is 00:00:55 But there you go. There we go. So this brings you proper joy. Pearl Jam unplugged. I love vinyl. I love, I mean, I subscribe to a streaming service, but I've got a lot of vinyl at home. It's like, for me, it's like the Kindle versus the book.
Starting point is 00:01:10 I love the smell of it. I love putting it on. I love that it makes music, you know, something that is you're actively engaging in, you know, rather than passively absorbing. You know, digital music can be disposable at times, whereas you're putting it on, you're listening to it in the way it was intended with no skipping from start to finish, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:34 and I think music should take up space. And my music takes up a lot of space. That is exactly the wording that my husband says about his music. He says it should take up space. I've never heard anyone else say that. And as you see that, it's in a clear polythene sleeve. I like looking after music. I like it being a thing that is taken care of.
Starting point is 00:01:59 So I'm a romantic when it comes to music. I love that. Okay, that's one. So we've got Pearl Jam unplugged, the vinyl. Now you've got a plastic bag. I mean, this is a terrible napole plastic bag. It's all right. I'm going to open it up.
Starting point is 00:02:12 It's okay. This is a. A really old, well-used, knackered set of Uno cards. Oh, okay. I didn't know you got, I didn't know what was going to be in there. Now, they have got little bits of Braille on them, right? Now, I don't read Braille. I had to learn the letters in order to play this.
Starting point is 00:02:32 And I love playing Uno with my daughter so much. That we play, I've learned these letters on here so that I can play it with her. We play Uno. There's one thing I love more than playing Oona with my daughter, and that is destroying my daughter at Ouno. Chris, I'm taking back every single thing I said. Leave the studio. But she is...
Starting point is 00:02:54 There you go. They're a bit weathered and worn. They've got braille on. Love sitting down and playing O'No with her, but she's 10 now. And the idea... And I'm quite slow with it because of this braille on them. But the, you know, she's 10 now.
Starting point is 00:03:10 And trying to... The draw of her old... dad, who's a slow uno player, compared to the instant immediate kind of exhilaration of Roblox is getting quite a big gap to bridge. And so, you know, I still try and tempt you're into a game every so often, but it's just not as excited as it used to be for it. Right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:34 And the third thing, please. I don't know how this is going to come across on the radio. What are you going to pull out? This is my iPhone. Yeah. Technology for me excites me. The access that it gives me to the world
Starting point is 00:03:51 is phenomenal. The iPhone for me is the portal to that access, whether it's things that are printed texts. I can take a photograph of a letter. It'll read it to me. The progression of technology excites me. Now, I'm going to open this up.
Starting point is 00:04:11 We've got AI now. Right? Yeah. And I can do a thing on my iPhone which just blows my mind. And I'm going to take a photograph of you. And AI is going to tell me what the photograph is. Oh, my word. Do you want to strike a pose, Gabby?
Starting point is 00:04:26 Okay, I'll strike a pose. You ready? Yeah. Take picture, dimmed. Analyzing picture. Please wait. Analyzing the picture, okay? So this is sent it up to the AI.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Let's see what the AI makes of it. I'm scared. Crazy blonde lady with a top that says, picture shows a woman sitting at a table in what appears to be a recording studio. She is wearing a bright yellow sweater with the word joy written in colorful letters. She has blonde hair, glasses, and is wearing headphones. She is smiling and has both of her hands up in the air, as if she is excited or waving. In front of her on the table is a microphone on a stand.
Starting point is 00:05:00 There is also some audio equipment on the table, including a small black box with knobs and cables. To her side, there is a black purse with a colorful strap and a vinyl record cover with the words pearl jam written on it. The background has wooden walls with a pattern of small holes. It's nuts, isn't it? You know, nuts? Oh, lady's blow my mind! So, for someone who can't see anything, I mean, AI might one day kill us all,
Starting point is 00:05:29 but at the minute, it is opening the visual world to me in a way that nobody, no human would ever bother to describe something like that to me. It's not often I get lost for words. Nuts in it. But I find that really emotional as well. The thing is now is I could say to that, describe her glasses to me
Starting point is 00:05:48 and it will then I can just talk to it about the image but I can you know it's described my daughter to me in ways that nobody's ever bothered to
Starting point is 00:05:57 That's what makes me emotional that your baby It's nuts in it Oh Oh my word So what brings me joy Is technology and where it goes
Starting point is 00:06:09 Because it all It opens doors And it opens A world You see your daughter Like that In that way, and describe. And then you can ask questions.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Describe her eyes. Describe a smile. Describe, you know. You know, on a very lower level, I'm buying a pair of trainers. Describe the trainers. I'm actually at a loss. I find it, I'm quite overwhelmed. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:32 But also I find it really emotional. It is, in it? Yeah. Yeah. It's mind-blowing. So, you know, at the minute, that's what gives me, that's what gives me what it says on your top. Bless you, Chris. For so many reasons, I will never forget this at all. Nice one.
Starting point is 00:06:53 Thanks for everyone. Thanks for everyone.
