Starting point is 00:00:16 do a little extra, we always ask you to bring a little nugget in, something that brings you joy. And I have rot a nugget. Tim. So tell us about your baby boy. Little Bob, I wanted a dog for some. We always had dogs growing up. But then in the last few years, I said to my partner Ben, I was like, I really want a dog. And he really didn't want a dog to the point where it's like, look, I really don't want a dog.
Starting point is 00:00:43 I don't want one. I really don't want one. In fact, I won't have anything to do with it. If it comes near me, I want, you know, I don't want one. And then my dad died. And so then I was more like, I think a dog's really going to help me feel better. And Ben was like, all right, yeah, you can have a dog. So I found Bob on the Blue Cross website.
Starting point is 00:01:15 What was Bob's story? Well, they told me that. Yeah, they said that his owners had to go out to work so they could no longer stay at home with him. So they'd been leaving him in a cage for like 10 hours a day. No. Yeah. So I don't know how long that went on for.
Starting point is 00:01:33 I sort of didn't want to hear. But, I mean, they did the right thing eventually and thought we can't keep doing this and put him up for adoption. And then I went and got him. And now we're just both completely. completely in love with him. Oh, Ben as well?
Starting point is 00:01:50 Yes. Oh my God. This is the Ben that didn't want anything to do. I mean, it happens all the time, doesn't he always hear of it? But yeah, because he's just, you know, you come home and he's spinning around. And I take him to work. Is that Ben or the dog? Do you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:08 I took him on afterlife as well, Bob. And he would sit behind the monitors, just watching the monitors. No. He was so well behaved. He's great. So did you have? to train him because you walked in here to the studios and you just, you didn't have to train him at all? No, because he was seven when I got him and I think, I think they must have trained him
Starting point is 00:02:27 because he can do all kinds of extraordinary things. He's a human. He can do anything. He's asleep now, but if there's a work, I'd show you that he can sort of like high-five you and stuff like that. He's really well-behaved. Was he called Bob before? Did you change his name? No, he was called Bobby, yeah. So at seven years old, you can't start calling him, Jeff. Because it would freak him. him out too much. So we stuck with Bob Bobby. But also Jeff for a dog. Jeff's not bad, is it? Actually, it's not a bad name
Starting point is 00:02:54 for a dog. No. But it wouldn't be a poodle. I really like animals with really human names. Do you? Yeah, like Andrew. Andrew? I've never met an Andrew. Imagine a greyhound called Andrew. Okay, best human name for a cat.
Starting point is 00:03:12 See? Cats? You can't do cats easily. No. Not like dogs. It's true. It's true. But I love cats as well. I'm not one of these weirdos that's like, do you like cats or dogs? Yeah, I'm allergic. You're allergic? Yeah. Really allergic.
Starting point is 00:03:27 My husband's allergic to dogs. You can get one of those lovely bald cats, can't you? No, that's, no. Have you ever felt one of those that's like a peach? They're lovely. No, it's just, I got into trouble. When I did crafts years ago, I interviewed a woman with her bald dog. And I said, you don't get much dog for your dog.
Starting point is 00:03:44 And the Kennel Club weren't very happy with me. I don't like a naked animal. Yeah, I felt like that. But then I went to one of those cat cafes in Scotland and they had one of these bold cats. And at first I thought, oh, that's a bit weird, you know, sort of wrinkly. And I had a feel and it was actually very nice. You went all the way to Scotland to have a feel of a bald cat.
Starting point is 00:04:09 No, I happened to be there and I had like an hour to kill and there was a cat cafe and I thought, this is mad, isn't it? You have to queue up and they let you in. You queue for the cat? You queue for the cat? You're cute to get in because they could only let so many people in at a time because there's all these cats roaming around
Starting point is 00:04:22 while you have a cup of tea. I'd just be hachew! Yeah, it's not for you, is it? Dog cafe, yes. Yeah. I love dogs. Oh. Bob.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Don't worry, Bob. Love the dog. Look, look. God, he knows his name. Bob and Diane, thank you. Thank you for having us.
