Every Friday, we have our extra nugget of joy.
We have our show and tell from our fantastic guests.
And Joe Wicks, what is the thing that brings you such joy, please?
Okay, so I've only got a photo because it's a bit heavy to carry in.
But this is my guitar.
Ah, your guitar!
Electric guitar! It's a fender-strat.
Let me have a look at the picture of it.
There's a few photos of rows in the background as well on the wall.
Is that all right?
Right, so we're going to show that.
So that is your fender.
Yeah, and the reason I love that is because, you know, when I am stressed out, I find it quite relaxing.
I'm not great on the guitar, but I find it quite relaxing.
Don't say that. Don't take that. Not great on the guitar.
I'm awesome. I'm like John Mayer.
John Mayer is my idol and I love him. So, yeah, I'll sit and just like do a few chords or try and do a little bit of like some scales.
But I like it gives me media, but also like I can play in front of the kids and I'm trying to teach indie.
I've got her a little mini electric guitar. So together, it's like I'm learning it again and teaching her like a few little notes.
She's learned, like, you know, Mary had a little lamb just picking, finger-picking the string.
So, yeah, I think there's a lot of joy in being creative and trying to be musical.
Even if you're not musical, just picking something up and trying to learn is really wonderful.
And I talk about that in the book, you know, if you're not someone who can play an instrument but you always wanted to, like, why not?
Get a, you know, 20-pound guitar off eBay or whatever and pick it up and have a go.
And you'd be amazed at how good it can make you feel, something simple like that.
Have we got a guitar anywhere?
Can anyone got a guitar with them?
We should have brought.
We should.
it would have a guitar, doesn't it? But I can't see one.
No, we needed, I wanted it. What's your favourite thing to play?
Well, I try to play things like, you know, Jack Johnson or The Eagles.
I can play Hotel California, the chords for that.
But one of the things about me is I'll learn like one part of the song, but I never nail it.
I never get all the way through it. And I can play like Wonder War and some Jack Johnson songs.
But fantastic.
Not like, I couldn't play the whole song. I could just play like the first riff and, oh, I know that bit.
So are we going to see your first album out soon?
No, I'll stick to the fitness and the food.
But yeah, I used to learn when I was a kid, you know, well,
had it as a teenager, so when I was at university,
and then I've just sort of kept it in there.
But I don't play every day, but I should play more, I think.
Good for you. Wonderful.
Joe Witt.
There you go.
As always, thank you so much.
Thanks for having me.
