Starting point is 00:02:42 That's what's up. That's what's what I'm living, gee. Man, amazing. Man, I'm glad I caught you in America. I heard you building a whole city with a tunnel, and y'all got skyscrapers, free Wi-Fi everywhere, water good. So far, yeah. Everything you mentioned. Everything you mentioned.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Yeah, I'm going to go over there. You got to. I always wanted to go to Africa, but I only want to go to Africa with somebody like you. Somebody who I know, got some cloud over there, got some pool, going to pull up, and we can jump out, get in the roads where as soon as we get all that shit. That flat shit I'd be saying you doing. How you been, man? I've been amazing, bro.
Starting point is 00:03:16 That is good. BETT Awards 2024. Yeah, man. What you're looking forward to, man? I know you've been doing this for a little minute. Yeah, I've been doing this for a minute. But this time I'm here just being a fan and I'm here promoting the mirror. my newest superstar.
Starting point is 00:03:28 She looked like a super star. Cheers. Thank you. How are you doing? I'm doing amazing. Is this your first time? This is actually my first time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Oh, this is a lot. It's actually a lot. But I'm grateful. I'm grateful to be here. Are you excited? Yes, my album just dropped two days ago. What's the name of it? It's called Reflections.
Starting point is 00:03:48 Yes. Wait, no, it dropped last night. This was Friday night. Oh, yeah, last night. I'm tripping. Friday night. And she's already had five million streams on Spotify, bro. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:03:56 That's exactly what we do. We celebrate victories like that. So what does it feel like to be to go from, shit, dropping your album to having five minutes in a day and a half. Damn that. You know what? My name is Amir for a reason because everything I sing about is a reflection of yourself. I feel like everything y'all probably went through in your life,
Starting point is 00:04:16 I've been through as well. And I feel like that's what my album means to me. It's going to show all my fans that y'all can get here or they can get here. Our family members can get here. We're all the reflections of each other. I don't want my family members here. They act too much of a damn fool, man. All this free liquor, somebody getting hands.
Starting point is 00:04:37 They're in for everybody. Not a league on. Like pick and choose. Pick and choose. Hell no. Maybe they can drive some of the shuttles or something, but they don't need to be in the building. But we're still reflections of each other, you know.
Starting point is 00:04:50 So make sure y'all get that album, reflections. I'm going to love it. So you're saying this being your. first time at B.T. Like, what stood out so far? You know what stood out so far is me being the baddest on the carpets? It's me
Starting point is 00:05:06 really. I'm like, how y'all been missing out on little me? What's been going on? You better better wait the Monday to say that. They're going to see this and then they're going to call in the big guns and then Sunday it's going to be crazy. Oh, no, baby. Y'all's going to be making sure.
Starting point is 00:05:20 You remember the year the lady showed up? She had had a big ass hairstyle with a bird in it. With a bird out. I bullshit you're not. She had a bird in the shit. So be careful what you say. Motherfucking see you out here doing something. And then they'll start getting extra as fuck.
Starting point is 00:05:35 They'd be like, bitch, bring the other bird. I need two birds this shit. They ain't going to top her, though. She's going crazy with her. She ain't going to top on that car. I can tell you already. One thing about I'm a burglar. I'm a perfectionist.
Starting point is 00:05:46 She's fashion. She's fashion. Very fashionable. There's a difference. There's a difference. Some people just know how to put that shit on. Right. And then some people just be wearing.
Starting point is 00:05:55 And then some people no matter where you wear, you ain't going to look good in it. Exactly. She can wear anything and look good now. They keep tricking all the drug dealers in the buying designer clothes. Have you ever seen a drug dealer with that shit on that shit look terrible? Like, nigga, you built like a baby mama. Man, you know how much this shit, co? Yeah, they're not because of the cost of it.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Why would you be that dumb enough to spend that kind of money on that? Come on it. And it don't make you look better. It don't. It just let people know you fuck up money. Right. That's all it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:06:23 And your confidence level is all we down to the dirt. Yeah, self-esteem. That's all it is, bro. A-Kahn, what you've been up to? Man, I just been working. I've been spent a lot of time in Africa, though, internationally. But now I'm coming back. I'm celebrating the 20th anniversary of Trouble, my first album.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Oh, man. Yeah, it's dropping August 16th, re-releasing it. Then I'm dropping in October with my brand-new album called Not Guilty. Not Guilty? You ain't been in trouble in a long time. No, no, no, no. It's not about trouble. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:54 It ain't about trouble. That's why I'm celebrating the 20th anniversary of trouble. Because people naturally think when you say not guilty is about trouble. Everything that I've been trying to create in Africa right now, because it's on a political level. This is like government level. The propaganda's been, I mean, when I tell you, they've been trying to beat me down.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Yeah. It's a lot going on in Africa. If you Google Acon City, you're going to see nothing but negative ads and all this from governmental paid ads because they don't want black people to feel like someone like me could actually achieve something. like that. You know what I mean? No, it's deep because it definitely affects the money when we get to the point when we come together and unite and make something big like that happen
Starting point is 00:07:33 in one place, then they know, oh shit. Once these guys realize that it's possible, you know how we do. It's no ending story. It's like when they teach us the game and we take it, like think about it. When you look at the music business, how you took street corner glass, come in the game, understand it. And now we make more money than half the execs that's been in for 20 years. And we did it in less than what? A year and a half, two years. years building companies from bottom selling them off for billions you know what I mean because once we know
Starting point is 00:08:01 the game it's a rap we get creative with it you know what I mean so now I'm in the game that only a chosen few can even walk through certain doors that's what I know and that's why I'm gonna make sure your ass don't leave until I got your real phone number you're not about to be out here doing billion dollars shit
Starting point is 00:08:17 and then just think you're just about to pop up my nigga Lose nigga I need to know what you had on Wednesdays and shit what are you telling me These motherfuckers, I'm trying to get my 40 acres in America. These niggins that gave you a city in Africa. No, listen. Literally, you know the shit that I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:34 That prime example. While y'all still here talking about 40 acres, you go back there, they're going to give you 400 acres. I didn't know that shit. That's what I'm saying. You won't even need a mule. They don't keep the mule. You're going to get a stallion, a real horse. Man.
Starting point is 00:08:53 Now, I see boo all the time. Your brother, I see him all the time. And he always like, yeah, I'm like, okay, bet. But now that you hear, I'm telling you myself, man, I'm, shit, I'm, whatever you got going on in Africa, we won't end. They need an 85 South over there. How do you say 85 in Africa? Gotta be dope. That's how ignorant I am.
Starting point is 00:09:17 I know it's the whole continent. How you say it in African, my nigga? I say 85 in what a lot. You know, I'm nientifook. Exactly. I don't give it no fuck. The same way he said it. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:09:30 Welcome to the Wilm get no fuck show. We don't get over there. Hey, where is the city going to be in there? It's going to be in Senegal. So right now it's going to be in five locations. The first one is in Senegal. Okay. Then the second was going to be in Uganda.
Starting point is 00:09:43 Okay. Then we're going to go to Kenya. All right. Then Ghana. All right. And then we're going to Ethiopia. So you're hitting the whole... Yeah, we're hitting the whole circle.
Starting point is 00:09:51 Shit, bro. I'm inspired like a motherfucker. fucking, man. Damn. Yeah. I'm just, just leave that along for a second. Just to put that, did you hear that? I heard it.
Starting point is 00:10:04 Yeah, the energy infrastructure is going to be pretty much renewable. I'm working out some major deals now to where we're going to bring energy and internet all throughout Africa. You know what I'm saying? Damn, bro. See, that's what I'm saying. I don't need
Starting point is 00:10:18 everything. I just want to go over there and do, like, one thing with you. You feel what I'm saying? That's all it takes. Listen, what you're doing right now, though? What you're doing right now? My passport at the room. We can leave a night.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Not that night, not tonight. Come on, friend. Monday. After the awards. After the war, then we're out this motherfucker. No, you definitely going to be on a trip. I bet. You definitely going to be on a trip.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I'm glad we got that on camera, bro. They will go crazy about you, actually. Y'all will go crazy down there. Crazy. And mind you, you're entertaining almost 2 billion people. That's what I'm saying. They're almost 2 billion people. when you look at half these streams, I can't even count
Starting point is 00:10:56 how many Afro beat artists there are right now. And all of them is over 100 million. I got some shit to talk. Winning. Two billion, bro. We over here in America just fucking with the millions. That shit lame in hell, bro.
Starting point is 00:11:11 I'm so over this shit. Yeah. That's the problem. Think big. Think big. Think big. What's the dream collabs you want to work with? Yeah, tell America Well, my dream collapse, obviously
Starting point is 00:11:28 Right now, I'm on the Afro-B side Because my album is Afro beat, Afrop So I'm, it's giving Tims, Tina Savage And of course, Davido Okay Yes Look forward to all three of those I'm ready to go, fuck this shit, bro
Starting point is 00:11:45 I'm sitting over here thinking of what my African name gonna be and shit Because they ain't calling me Carlos over there I'm changing He said, call us. I'm changing my shit. Well, the video I just released for my last single run it, that just came out as well.
Starting point is 00:11:59 That was recorded in Senegal. Y'all better come outside. I'm talking about the next video we got to be in. Oh, you're going to be. Oh, the next video. Morocco. Morocco is going to be the next video. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:10 You got to come to Morocco. Yeah, I don't know how the flight's looking, but if y'all... No, you got to come to Morocco. Hey, I'm going to tell you now. You ain't going to be to wear that shirt when we get everything. This is a Morocco shirt. No the fucking ain't. No the fucking ain't.
Starting point is 00:12:26 I wore it because I knew they were coming. Nah, they're not going to let that shit. I got to put my shirt on. I put my shirt on. Yeah, no, the black and white cheetah printing ain't going to work. Told you. I told you. I'm going to work.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Thank you. Thank you. It's going to work. No, they ain't going to work. No. Not the fashion is to advance. Not the point we're going to. I got a hood in the boot bag.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Yeah, the part we're going to. The video works because it's hip-hop. Anything hip-hop works in Africa. But they're going to be hot, though, isn't? No, don't worry about the heat. You got to get used to that anyway before you go. I'm sweating this year off. If heat is a problem, you don't even get on the plane.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I was in Phoenix last week. It can't be hotter than Phoenix. Welcome to Pretty Private with Ebeney, the podcast where silence is broken and stories are set free. Starting point is 00:13:41 My dad was shot and killed in his house. Yes, he was a drug dealer. Yes, he was a confidential informant, but he wasn't shot on a street corner. He wasn't shot in the middle of a drug deal. he was shot in his house unarmed. Pretty Private isn't just a podcast. It's your personal guide for turning storylines into lifelines. Starting point is 00:15:35 I've never seen so many women protect predatory men. And then me too happened. And then everybody else wanted to get pissed off because the white said it was okay. Problem. My oldest daughter, her first day in ninth grade, and I called to ask how I was good. She was like, All they were doing was talking about your thing in class. I ruined my baby's first day of high school.
Starting point is 00:15:53 And slumflower. What turns me on is when a man sends me money. Like, I feel the moisture between my legs when the man sends me money. I'm like, oh my God, it's go time. Starting point is 00:16:16 Remember the Movie Pass era, where you could watch all the movies you wanted for just $9? It made zero cents and I could not stop thinking about it. I'm Bridget Todd, host of the tech podcast, there are no girls on the internet. On this new season, I'm talking to the innovators who are left out of the tech headlines. Like the visionary behind a movie pass, Black founder Stacey Spikes, who was pushed out of Movie Pass the company that he founded. His story is wild and it's currently the subject of a juicy new HBO documentary. We dive into how culture connects us.
Starting point is 00:16:47 When you go to France, or you go to England, or you go to Hong Kong, those kids are wearing Jordans, they're wearing Kobe's shirt, they're watching Black Panther. And the challenges of being a Black founder. Close your eyes and tell me what a tech founder looks like. They're not going to describe someone who looks like me and they're not going to describe someone who looks like you. Starting point is 00:17:53 Okay, I can fuck me. Yeah, it's about the same. In the summertime. It was 115 at night. Yeah, that's about as high as you get. But, I mean, it depends on what side of Africa you want, too, though. We're going to be on the rich side. No, no.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Every side got a rich side. Yeah, we're just staying on them sides. So wherever you go, there's a rich side and then the post side, of course. Okay, bet. yeah i'm fucking with it i'm telling you man look we've been keeping up with whatever you got going on whenever you want to stop through talks and shit promote some you got to bring us a copy of the video early or something man we got y'all promise we need some exclusive shit over here at the eight o'clock yeah it just came out it's crazy we're gonna check out on friday hey khan
Starting point is 00:18:33 when you're back in Atlanta man well don't say it on camera because you're too important these days we'll wrap we'll read we'll need you to come and and bring a map bring the big map so we can see I want to see how big the shit is so we can start planning and landscaping this. But, yo, Africa is so big. Let me split. This is a nice little
Starting point is 00:18:50 good fun fact. Africa is so big, right? That you can fit five United States. One, two, three, four, five.
Starting point is 00:19:06 And it still have room left in them off. Yeah, exactly. So the map, the map itself, it doesn't depend. pick the real size of it. You can literally put all the other countries in that motherfucker. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:18 And when I get over there, first thing I'm doing, I'm ripping my past port up. I ain't never coming back over here with you broke asses. The motherfuckers living over here trying to get a smart car. Bitch, we got a whole city. Me and A-Con.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Five of them bitches. When you're riding through A-Con, it's going to be a sign. That bitch is going to say, Carlos. 47 miles. My shit gonna be an African name by then, though. Yeah, but the city, I'm gonna have one, one of my city is gonna be named Carlos.
Starting point is 00:19:50 It's gonna be my original name, but be. You're gonna be an African name right now. You can't give it to me, I gotta go see you. No, no, no, I'm gonna give you a name right now. Okay, all right, fuck it, get to me. Because you're gonna try to switch up on me when you get that, so I need to know your African name now. What's his African name?
Starting point is 00:20:01 Let me think, let me think, let me think. All right. I thought you had to go see the lady in the village. I want that shit to sound like real Africa though. Yeah, get it too. That's my niggum That's my niggle Unwibu
Starting point is 00:20:17 Da Bibu A bribu A nigger That's what it mean Real nigger From over there Unwikwe da Bubu
Starting point is 00:20:31 Exactly That is what I mean That nigger the shit Exactly This is what I mean tribal leader is going to name you properly though for sure absolutely it's going to be a lady she's going to put some shit in a bowl and then they're going to be like it's going to be like some sage and shit yeah it's going to be right then she's going to come and put this shit on my forehead
Starting point is 00:20:53 like simba right the whole nine yep oh nick it's going to be a whole day of ceremony the whole day you're going to change drums dances everything i'm going to be sitting out there on my knees no no you're going to be no you're going to stand up i want that shit right You're going to be stand up. They're going to take all your clothes off? Would they give me one of them things? You're going to be butt-naked. Yeah, you're going to get that.
Starting point is 00:21:20 You're going to get all that. Feed you're going to get all that. You're going to be good. I want a little dagger too on my hip. That's after the name. That's after the name. Because after the naming, they're going to send you out to the jungle. You're going to have to kill a lion or something that's dominant.
Starting point is 00:21:35 You got to pick the hair. No, nigger, listen. I wrestle lions, bro. Man, you bullshit. I wrestled them. That ain't falling for that shit Bro, you think I'm playing? Nick, I go hands with a gorilla in Congo
Starting point is 00:21:47 Wait I got footage of me wrestling a gorilla A drink and I kicked in. No, he actually had He actually did take some hair from a lion He actually has You have to take a hair from a lion You have to take the hair from a lion
Starting point is 00:22:01 You saw her? No, she's seen the hair I gave her hair too. Yeah, y'all been around each other too long. Y'all know each other lies and shit now Shee. So you're going to have to do to be a real man go over there go over there but yo when you come back though the lion hair is the most spiritual that listen that lying hair the moment you get that and you keep it with you nothing
Starting point is 00:22:23 will ever happen to you what you're going to be the most successful man on earth and i promise you in my wallet none can haunt you i believe you but you got to have a courage though to go out there and get it so like and come back alive if i go get the shit right i can go by myself i can go by myself nobody going with you i'm just saying like so no matter how i get the shit long as i no matter how you get it you just got to get it i mean you're gonna have a little few tour guides no ain't no tour guys oh you're gonna ask me like where you get the shit my story i'm like oh i seen the little bitch-ass line ran up on him right flip his ass over he was like push him in his shit hit him in the rib he laid down snatched the hair
Starting point is 00:23:03 came back on with the hair i'm gonna make sure i bring more than i'm supposed to give like look at all this line hair i got you know i whoop this ass They won't believe you that you've been. You come with a few hairs, and they're going to know you fought for it. I whipped his ass. Look at all this. So,
Starting point is 00:23:16 unless you're going to have to scratch yourself off. You got to scratch yourself up. I didn't pull the boss, buddy. You think I'm playing? Yeah. You got to come limping with some scratches. No, no, no. See, this is the thing, though.
Starting point is 00:23:29 The thing is, there's clever ways of doing it without the combat. Okay. So you're not going to do. See, my, I didn't have no combat because I knew what I was doing. You want me show what I did? You're on. All right, let me show you. Let me show you.
Starting point is 00:23:40 No, I'm going to show you. I'm going to show you what I did. I went and chopped some trees up. Created a cage. Right? I got in the cage. Right? Lock myself in the cage.
Starting point is 00:23:50 But on top of the cage, I put a piece of meat right there. And I waited, and I waited. This is true. He snuck up. He was coming to the meat and I'm looking at him, but I'm quiet. I'm in the cage. You can't touch me. He jumps on the cage to get the meat.
Starting point is 00:24:04 I'll put my hand, grab the thing. He flew off and I had that. That's all I need. See, it's about being smart. These are some folk tales, he's telling us, man. It's about being smart. So when he jumped on the cage to get the meat, that's when I pulled the hair.
Starting point is 00:24:17 No, yes. Lose, I ain't going for this shit, man. But you guys can do it yourself. That worked for me, but everybody got their own method. You're going to go do that dumb shit. They're going to record you and laugh all year. You don't have not one fucking city. Why in the fuck would I listen to you?
Starting point is 00:24:36 Whatever it did, it worked. Go be a damn fool. It worked. It worked. Didn't this man do is come back, but you got five of his own cities. You live in Atlanta with that shirt. If A-Con say we can trick these motherfucking lines, it can be done. It can be done.
