You are a vet in the game. Ping game, we all know about you. We're very familiar with it. How do you feel about the state of R&B in 2025? The state of R&B in 2025, it's actually, it's turning a corner. It's becoming more soulful. I'm proud of it. It's something we're getting back to a place.

I mean, I think we can still kind of filter out some of the vulgarity and get even closer to love, but we're on our way back to love. So I love that. I like that you said that because I'm not going to lie. I like Ratchet music, I do. But when I'm listening to my R&B, I'm not going to hear that. I'm trying to make sweet love. Yes, it's so hard.

Like, I was trying to make, like, a Bay playlist, right? Yeah. Without things that were offensive to him or me. Yeah. And it was a little hard. It's hard. To stay in the vibe without, like, oh, oh, man, I can't use that one. Yeah.

You know what I mean? So, but we're getting back. We're getting back to love. We need black love. We got to promote that more. Speaking of which, what you like to do? on like Saturdays. On Saturday?

On Saturday. Like when it ain't nothing? Like you ain't work? What you'd be liking to do? Man, work. Play. Well, my work is play. So I like to write.

I like to, I might rehearse. You know, I have like a microphone set up in my house and I might go just sing, you know? So work for me is play. I might go to my studio and lay some vocals or write a bridge to something, you know? You know, so I think that's one of the things that I'm so fortunate for, because for me, I get paid to do what I already would be doing, you know? What you like to eat? I like to, I like, I like everything. I like everything.

I like everything. I like everything. I like every cuisine from every country. Every country. Yeah, my love it. But you're going to take itself a country home. My palate is very vast. Yeah.

Very vast. Very vast. I wish the economy wasn't messed up right now. You made me at the wrong time. And you're also, you're very multifaceted. Like, outside of music, I've seen you been in your acting bag lately, too. So is that something that you've always wanted to do, or is that something that you just stumbled up on? I guess a little bit of both.

I was a theater major at Emory University here. Okay. So it was, and I grew up, like, doing musical theater and things when I was a child, but I got away from it. Music, you know, so my only experience prior to becoming an artist was music videos, shooting music video. That's where you can get your little acting on. But, yeah, getting back to that was absolutely, like, somewhat like a homecoming for me. And also, I felt like such a novice. Like I felt like I didn't know shit.

I felt like I was starting over with it, which I love to feel like I'm growing and learning something new. I never want to feel like I am at the pinnacle of any art. I'm always growing, always learning. And that's what acting does for me too. I love that. Is there an artist, like, whether old or new, that you haven't worked with, that you like,

if I can write a song for them, we can go to the top. Honestly, okay, I'm going to have to go with the late great D'Angelo. And not just because he's on the forefront of our minds. I actually tried to work with him when he was alive, but he wasn't working at that time. So that was one dream that is obviously reignited, like, oh, like, I'm gutted as a fan. And as a songwriter, I'm gutted that that can never happen. So, yeah. Yeah, but also Lauren Hill.

Okay. This is the question I want to know. Okay. What's your comfort show? What's my what? Your comfort show. Comfort, what? Show.

Because these are people I've known in the industry almost... Shoot, I don't want to age myself, but... I know how old you are. I know. I know. Like, there are people. in here that I've known for like 30 years. Yeah.

So it's a reunion. It's black. It's beautiful. Like, there's so much beauty here. You're here. We, thank you. There's some beauty in here. Thank you.
