This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
I'm Bowen-Yen.
And I'm Matt Rogers.
During this season of the Two Guys Five Rings podcast,
in the lead-up to the Milan-Cortina-2026 Winter Olympic Games,
we've been joined by some of our friends.
Hi, Boen, hi, Matt, hi, hey, Elmo.
Hey, Matt, hey, Bowen.
Hi, Cookie.
Hi.
Listen to Two Guys Five Rings on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Over the last couple years, didn't we learn that the folding chair was invented by black people because of what happened in Alabama?
This Black History Month, the podcast, Selective Ignorance with Mandy B, unpacked black history and culture with comedy, clarity, and conversations that shake the status quo.
The Crown Act in New York was signed in July of 2019, and that is a bill that was passed to prohibit discrimination based on hairstyles associated with,
race. To hear this and more, listen to Selective Ignorance with Mandy B from the Black Effect
Podcast Network on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, host of the unpurposed podcast. On a recent episode, I sat down with Nick Jonas,
singer, songwriter, actor, and global superstar. I went blank. I hit a bad note and then I
couldn't kind of recover. And I had built up this idea that music and being musician was my
whole identity. I had to sort of relearn who I was if you took this thing away. Who am I?
Listen to On Purpose with Jay Chetty on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts. What is something you've had to unlearn about love? That it's earned. That I was
unworthy of love. That it needs to be forever for it to count. February is the month of love.
Whether you're in a relationship, casually dating, or proudly single, it's a great time to have
on yourself and what you want.
I'm Hope Woodard, host of the Boy Sober podcast,
and each week we're looking at love from every angle.
Listen to Boy Sober.
That's B-O-Y-S-O-B-E-R.
On the I-Hart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Talk all your shit.
Feel me?
How many fucking chickens doesn't make to make a chicken nugget?
You see what I'm saying?
I'm asking a question.
You think it's one.
thing one chicken breast per nugget.
Like, you probably could get what, 20
nuggets out of breast? You gotta get 20 nuggets out of breast.
How many chickens? But the way
they do it, they grind the shit up.
That could be like...
And then they had other stuff in there.
That could be like 30 different chickens
for one nugget.
It could be.
Now you got me caught. What the fuck is a chicken
sandwich? What is a chicken sandwich?
A chicken sandwich is definitely the breast.
Is it? Sometimes they use the thigh.
Now, it'd be the bread.
That's how you know I grew up so black.
Sometimes it's a thigh.
Because I know that.
from going to restaurants.
Yeah.
But in my mind, a chicken sandwich is any piece of chicken with some bread.
I don't have a chicken sandwich with a leg with a leg in it.
You very much trench baby shit.
It's a big bone right.
You just, it's like a chicken leg taco.
That makes me.
You wrap the bread.
You wrap the bread around the chicken leg.
Okay.
And.
How you bite into it, though?
The bone in there.
But you don't...
You got to be smart enough to know it's a bone in there.
Okay.
You kind of eat the sandwich around the bone, yeah.
All the bread will be gone.
That's not a family, though, because it's wrapped around.
That's a hot dog.
Anything you put on bread in a sandwich.
Anything on some bread is a sandwich.
No.
Anything.
Hey, no, no.
If there's one piece of bread and it's wrapped around, that's a hot dog.
I mean, not to be too vulgar, but if you put some meat between two
Two things, that's a sandwich, a coochie's sandwich, really.
Wow.
Because that's two sides.
Especially if you eat it from the back.
It's a whole ass right there.
The ass is like the bread.
It is.
No.
Talking about chicken nuggets.
It is a sandwich.
And then you brought up breasts.
Okay.
And then breasts.
So do you all think a hot dog is a sandwich?
A hot dog is a sandwich.
A hot dog definitely is a sandwich.
Stop it.
But that make, but like, who's to say that it's not a sandwich?
Okay.
A hot dog is a sandwich.
sandwich.
So is cereal soup then?
But it's a sandwich.
No.
Why not?
Because soup is hot.
No, it's not.
No, no, not all soup is hot.
They do have cold soup, but nobody eat that.
No, there are people eat that.
Some people don't have a choice.
Yeah.
It's cereal.
If you're homeless and you had some soup earlier.
Cereal is soup.
Now, let's get to-y.
Is macaroni salad still a sally?
I don't see.
Salad to me is like greens.
That's more of a, they call it macaroni salad,
But it's awesome.
Because you can have a fruit salad.
A salad is just a conjunction of things.
I agree.
How are we not?
No, you're not following them.
You have to follow the rules.
So if a hot dog is not a sandwich, then what is it?
A hot dog.
It's a sandwich.
No, but see, if it's not on the bread, it's just a naked hot dog.
But you put it on the bun, it becomes a sandwich.
Right, right, right.
Because it by itself, it's called a hot dog.
So the weenie?
No, it's not.
It's just a weenie.
No.
People call it a hot dog, though.
If you say a hot dog, I'm not thinking of just a weenie.
Why you get calling it that, man?
Because she's nasty.
Hey, man, welcome back to the One Music Fest.
We are backstage here live, backwards backstage.
We interviewing everybody.
Everybody that we see, walk by, we grab a boy that stopped through the kick nutrition with us, apparently.
Yeah.
And the theme of this interview is going to be, is that a sandwich?
Is that a sandwich?
It's a sandwich.
None other than.
Ray Vaughn. What's up, boy. Hey, man. Hey, man. You've been going bar crazy.
A little bit. You've been dropping a lot. You said it when we was at the BET.
Yeah, I said I was ready for this. I was about to drop you. Yeah. You feel me?
So how has been, man. Huh? How has been? I've been. I've been crazy. I've been, I've been, I've been, man.
Man, fuck all that. I've been popping it.
Popping you? I know. I'm going to continue to pop it. Today, I'm going to pop it. Tomorrow, I'm
pop it to the end of the year, till the next year. And we're going to lead all that shit, too.
Period. Period. I loved it.
The team had a hell of a run.
Yeah, I know. You see what Doty doing. Yeah. You see what Dot doing. Right.
Like it just looked good for all of us. But I feel like next year, I feel like this year introduced. This year was like discovery for everybody. Yeah. So everybody that, oh, that's the little Kevin Hart looking at a nigga who can rap. Yeah.
But next year I feel like we just gonna turn up four gear and I'm gonna show people like that I can make hits. That's kinda like what I'm on.
I wanna ask you this because you know, you're part of the TD family. Yeah. And of course you're
You knew before the world knew.
Yeah.
But did you know Docher was about to come out and fuck him up like this?
Yeah.
So when I first heard Dochi, it was like a couple days after she signed, Musa pulled me in.
And they played crazy.
And I was like, what the fuck is this?
Yeah.
I don't think I felt like that like, what the fuck is this?
For me, probably like since like, hey yaw.
because hey yah is such a like a like a that song is oxymoron like he's he's talking to it's a love song
on like the way that he did it but it's like a sad love song on an uptemper like the way he did it
is crazy so when i heard crazy i'm like yo this is crazy yeah like so i and then i heard her rap
i was just like yo she all she needs to look she like one hit away same as me it's like one
you just want hit away and she gonna keep running she'll keep doing it because i feel like it ain't
too many motherfuckers who care about the craft.
She care about the craft.
Even when you see her perform, if you see her perform today,
she give a show.
It ain't just her out there rap.
She give a damn.
And I feel like that's a lost art.
Yeah.
She's so dope with the music.
You'd be forgetting she's fine too.
Yeah.
For me anyway, you can't say it.
I can say it.
Damn.
No, she's a beautiful black woman, for sure.
She's a beautiful black woman.
That sounds so good.
Yeah.
But she fine too, bro.
She's fine.
You can be a beautiful black woman and not be fine.
She's fine too.
It's fine.
It's having like that extra juice.
Yeah.
No,
see,
I think when I talk to people,
I separated with like pretty,
like beautiful and sexy.
What's the different?
Like somebody sexy,
I could just look at it and be like,
I put you through the fucking mattress.
But like somebody who beautiful is like,
I might take a little bit more time.
I'm like,
I'm like sweet love.
There's a little more respect.
Yeah.
That's right.
Got you.
I'm going to take you through there.
Okay.
Okay.
Take me through the time.
See, this is what they specialize.
They don't get you talking about that shit.
We do.
All I know is, all I know is she's fine.
I'll be watching like shit.
Somebody watching me.
Yeah.
My anxiety got the acting up.
I just smoked two blunts and sent two texts I need to try to unsend.
Make it in tech those you.
It's crazy, man.
He's nuts.
A nick crazy.
Yes.
So we're here at One Music Fest.
Is this your first big festival?
This is actually my first big festival performing.
Oh, wow.
How did they feel performing in front of such a large,
proud of people.
I got here a little early.
Okay.
You said I got here a little early.
Stick around.
No, no, no.
Like, before, I'm just grateful to be here because, like, I ain't never been to a festival before I signed to TD.
I never been to a show.
I never did none of that.
I was like, when I do that, I want to go perform it.
I want it to be my occupation, not just going.
I want people stepping on my shoes.
Okay.
You know what I'm saying?
So I was like, for me, this is dope.
And it's an experience of like, oh, it's a festival, but you got to understand.
it's still levels to this shit because you got to get work your way down the car.
You got to work your way down to the eight o'clock slots and the seven o'clock slots.
That means something to me.
You know what I'm saying?
So I got the same integrity in front of the smaller crowd as I do as a bigger crowd too.
Though anyways, but it's just a dope experience because now I'm looking at it as not only do I want to get on that card as on a festival,
I want to get at the bottom of that business to where I'm like early, like later in the evening.
You get me?
Uh-huh.
We know one thing I love about One Music Fest is that it's in Atlanta.
And a lot of people get to see the essence of it left.
How black it really is.
It really get nigger over here.
At the end of the night, it's about 100,000 niggins out here.
And the best part about it is that's not even a half of a half of a half.
When I first came to Atlanta, it scared me.
I ain't going to lie.
Really?
Because I'm from Long Beach.
Okay.
But it's such a variety.
It's so many different, you know what I'm saying?
So many different ethnicities in there.
When I came over here, it was niggas.
I was like, I'd be surprised.
It's the nigger mecca.
Yeah, but like they said that, they said it, but when you've seen it, that's when they fuck you up.
I came out here and I'm like, yo, it's, the shows is all black.
The clubs is all black.
Police in the street.
Police is black.
The lawyers, the doctors, the dentist, everybody.
You know what?
You know what?
Fuck me up.
I was with Layton Green.
I was with Layton Green.
We was working on that song myself.
And they pulled up into this Buckhead neighborhood.
I think that's the rich part.
And it's one of them
It's big ass house
We pull up
I'm like man
Why y'all got me in the white neighborhood man
So she like nigga come outside at six
When they get off work and you'll see
I come out and it fuck me up
When I came outside I've seen so many black fathers
With their kids playing in the yard
And I'm like bro
And it fuck me up because coming from L.A.
We feel like we conditioned to just get apartments
You know what I'm saying? You get a roommate
She 37 with a roommate
Like
It's more normal
So when you come over here
It's like
Damn our people flourish
You know what I'm saying
They could really flourish
If they got some sense
They're gonna flourish
Over there it's like
You conditioned to stay
Wherever the fuck you at
So I'm like
I'm already looking like
Y'all I need to be in Atlanta
Yeah
Everywhere I go
I'd be telling people
I'd be like y'all paying
What for what
Nigger what?
You know what you can have
I had a four bedroom
house
No five bedroom house
For $8,500 a month
Oh, wow.
Sick.
Yeah, I'll hear you could get that for like half of it.
You get two houses.
Yeah.
Right.
Literally.
I went broke.
I was in that motherfucker broke.
I'm calling the top.
Hey, man.
That's crazy.
I didn't blew through it, man.
That shit is gone.
That shit is gone, man.
That's it.
What you?
The house.
85.
8500.
Five bed room.
Five bed.
Dumb.
That's dumb, though.
Like, I did that.
That was dumb.
But you got to do it to learn.
First time.
I wish I didn't have to.
to do it to burn it.
He said, but I wish I could have seen somebody else do it.
I'm a great, learn from other people mistakes her.
Yeah.
I learned from other people mistakes.
I just didn't.
That's a valuable lesson, though.
Yeah, I bet you I won't do that shit again.
Now you know.
I bet you won't.
Look, get me an apartment with $2,500.
I don't give a fuck.
Yeah, because you ain't got to worry about that shit, no security.
Can't nobody pop up.
They gotta have a key card to get in the garage.
Right.
Other key card to get upstairs.
Then they got to stop and talk to the little white dude.
No.
Yeah, it's a lot.
If something break...
But it's a little white dude in L.A.,
but it ain't...
Over here, it's a nigga.
Yeah.
What I'm talking about?
Mr. Otis?
Mr. Chalk.
Mr. Otis?
Yeah, you get an old...
Otis is such an old-ass name.
That's always the damn name at a building, though.
Otis is crazy.
If somebody named their kid, Otis today, it's over.
Ain't no young Otis is out here.
I think that's a cute name.
Just like Aloysius.
Okay.
Aloysius?
That's not like a disease.
That's a magician.
I think it's a magician.
I don't know.
Carlos, it's all like he knows magic.
The Alohishis?
No.
Eloishisius.
They got an album cover somewhere like this.
Hell no.
Alawish is.
The nigga being like, man, he's been out sick.
He called Aloishisius.
You're so wrong.
That's what the Gina tell you when you run out of wish.
Oh, you're Alawishis.
The name is nasty.
That's egregious.
That's a real human name.
Oh, Jesus.
She claimed it is.
I've never met nobody named Aloishis personally.
She's playing.
It's an English name.
It's an English name.
But I'm saying you met one?
Exactly.
I know an old black man in Mississippi
named Aloisian.
You do?
No, for real.
It's my homeboy, great great man.
No bullshit.
We got some crazy names in Mississippi, man.
You from Mississippi?
Yeah.
I thought you heard it on.
I know an old nigga named Harvester.
Who?
It's named Harvester.
Yeah.
And that's that.
I didn't think it was real.
I thought she heard it on Harry Potter.
It sounds like some, oh me it's sound like a spell.
Yeah.
I ain't going to let y'all call Lexa liar
because she do a lot of shit.
but she don't do a lot of lying.
Thank you.
That's a real old niggins.
You don't be lying?
Exactly.
Right.
You sleep with two pillows on your bed?
Two.
I have lots of pillows on my bed.
Do you got two pillows on your bed when you make it?
Bare minimum, yeah.
So you'll be lying.
If she got two eyes, she'd be lying.
She don't lie a lot though.
Or the people who'd be like, the girls who'd be like, I don't be outside, I'd be chilling, y'all be lying.
They'd be lying.
They'd be lying.
They don't.
They'd be in the house.
They'd be doing outside.
If you're doing outside shit in the house.
Being cracked in the house.
You're right.
That's fair.
That is a fan.
You're right.
You don't got to go outside to be on some outside.
You're right.
You're right.
Points was made.
Hey, man, you got a hell of an insight.
You're going to be around here.
You're staying at one music?
