Summer's here, and with the kids home and off to camp, it's easy for moms to get lost in the shuffle. On Good Mom's Bad Choices, we're making space to center ourselves with joy, rest, and pleasure.
Starting point is 00:02:15 Take the kids to camp. You know what? It was expensive. But I was also thinking, if you have my kid, this is kind of priceless. Take her, feed her, make core memories. I don't have to do anything. Main thing, I don't have to do anything. To hear this and more, listen to Good Mom's Bad Choices from Black Effect Podcast Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. that had to wear church sucks when they wasn't going to church.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Did you know that? Man, I can believe it, I'll tell you that. Okay, so you got the whole grandbabies at the house? Yeah, so that's one of my favorite breeds, you know, the bullies, but I like working class dogs. You know, working class dogs. Hey, working class. Like German Shepherd, the dog with jobs. Yeah, you know, dogs that can pay their rent, you know.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Yeah. Have you been to the Atlanta airport? In that port, they got these little beagle dogs. They look like puppies, but they drug dogs. Yeah, man. They'll be tricking people like their puppets. Don't trust them. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:03:36 I'll tell you. They'll figure out what you ate yesterday. Them knows is good, bro. Yeah. Trying to tell you. That's money, onions like your brother. That's crazy. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I'm having to hire you, bro. My brother got a little mean-ass dog at the house. I'm with it, bro. I'm with it. Whatever you need, and that's what I'm here. How long it take to train them? For me, I only do, right now I'm booked for in-home training until like January. Oh, well, he's gonna be too damn.
Starting point is 00:04:02 But, like I said, I do boarding train programs. So a lot of my clients now, they do 30-day boarding trains. The dog stays with me within my actual home. Live with me, you know, we socialize, I train it, I work. We might go to Home Depot, do our thing. And I really just make it an overall dog until you figure out you want to do protection work or not. Just in here with the door unlocked. Fuck wrong with you, Thad.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Man, he's... Thad boy. Thad on some other shit. Bray, ever since he got that little role as the murderer, he'd be acting funny, man. You ain't seen this show? No. I'm gonna see it soon. Yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:04:43 He gonna... he did it, too. They don't need a know where show. He said the murder. Yeah. You ain't seen it? Man. Go to Thad Instagram, man. He's on there.
Starting point is 00:04:53 He's getting interrogated. You know how they be doing them crime re-enactment shows? Yeah. This is like his second time being a killer on that. Oh yeah. I'm proud of them. He's doing something. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:05:06 Hey. Man, you, bro, you should be, bro. Listen. America, y'all need to rock with those, man. He can act, he can rap. He can rap. He got it all, man. He can do with everything.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Hey, bro. He can do it all, man. The voiceovers and characters, he got it, he got it. Ain't it crazy how you know that? Because I watch you, I understand, bro. You know what that means? They know it too. They need to.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Yeah. I ain't in no hurry, though, bro. I get a lot of opportunities that people don't necessarily know about because it takes so long for this shit to actually happen. You are a boss. Everything got to manifest. Right. So they're going to be real surprised when they do see the shit that I do be working on.
Starting point is 00:05:46 But it's like, I prioritize doing, you know, the media, the 85 South media so much. They think that I'm never not here. But the way that it works out that I do this is on the days I am here. So yeah, it'd be crazy. They're going to see, though. I got some shit coming. You're a boss, man. I don't even like to do a lot of promotion until it comes out.
Starting point is 00:06:09 For sure, for sure. But I appreciate you being a fan and, you know, sticking around this long. Because a lot of people heard me say one thing Didn't even hear the rest It's like fuck that nigga But you know There's hours of content
Starting point is 00:06:24 Of me speaking on various subjects Just how it's supposed to be Try to put out a nice body at work So they can be like Fuck that nigga And he's like no don't say that Don't say that you You need see that one shit he said
Starting point is 00:06:36 Listen man And that's what I'm trying to be like You know I want to I want to build multiple brands And I want to be places where this brand is building and I can go ahead and be on the next brand
Starting point is 00:06:47 so you're interested in doing like training some some dogs with like some TV type shit like shows and things of that nature I mean really you know it's about building a business that can house all all four elements you know I do like chili I'm doing her dogs
Starting point is 00:07:02 you know the Holt stuff like that but my vision is really to have brands and businesses that can be suitable for black folks you know like we can't just keep going PetSmart Petco to take our dog for $60 a night. You know, they just keep our dog in a crate all night. And, you know, that ain't the move.
Starting point is 00:07:20 So you do like babysitting too? Overnight, boy, I got, man, I got dogs that I have for six months because their parents are actresses and actors. That's what I was just about to ask you. Do people just never not come get their dog and shit? Man, it's been close. Yeah. Abandonment. I don't have to be like, hey, excuse me.
Starting point is 00:07:35 But they're still paying, right? I get my money up front. Oh. You just ain't gonna get your dog if you don't show up, but it's paid for already. That makes sense. That's a hell of a business motto, especially in that type of business because you run the risk of them not coming back.
Starting point is 00:07:52 You know? So if they're not going to come back, you should at least keep a card on file and just charge them. It wouldn't even be worth the chance, man, because nowadays, you know, everybody, everybody's skeptical, but that skepticism usually leads to fear, and then fear leads into, well, I don't want to do this, you know? And so it holds a lot of people back, but that's why we got five stars on Google because we treat people right and I try to do everything with integrity and character. That's hard as hell to do to get five stars.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Five stars, holding. That's dope though. Where can they get in touch with you and reach out to, you know, use some of the overnight boarding and grooming and training? Where can they reach you? For sure. So all my information on the board, but as far as my Instagram goes, it's Paws and Parks underscore LLC.
Starting point is 00:08:35 Yeah, they want to see some videos and shit like that. I'm pretty sure that you got some crazy numbers because people love to watch dogs and cats do anything. I need to get more into the social media game. And yeah, I got a strong, cut a strong family. Put them reals out, man. I'm going to fuck what it is. Long as white people like to see animals.
Starting point is 00:08:52 As long as it's like the dog, you good. Tishaw. I can't. I can't tell him that shit. Dog love. Help him, Grant. You as partner. I'll be telling him.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Make him do something, Loz. Come on. Talk to him Loz. Talk to him Loz. Yeah, man. Feeding them, washing them. You know. That's another thing, man.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I'm telling him. This little dog mean as hell. It's me mean? He mean. Like sandlocked mean? No, he was the runt. He was the runt. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Okay. That type of shit. But he big as hell now. Yeah, them runts, man. They're vicious, man. I know. I think he's gonna be bigger than we anticipated. That's always the worst.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Yeah. That's always the worst. He's gonna be this big. He's up with them. No. You're not a couch dog. Because after having the puppy two weeks, he morphed.
Starting point is 00:09:41 He was already in two weeks. Two weeks, he turned into a dog. I'm like, we didn't get to enjoy none of this puppet shit. I think the dog, they didn't, I don't know how old he is. They're like, hey, you're alive, man. 24, 48 months. Exactly. For sure.
Starting point is 00:09:58 For sure. Well, we go in, man. We go in places, man. You know, being here is just a blessing. Because I'm here, people can understand who I really am. And I didn't really hear to talk about the business and how great it is. Hopefully y'all just see, you know, who I am as an individual, you know? We have a huge market of black people and various others.
Starting point is 00:10:20 For sure. But now that you're taking it to this platform, this would be people reaching out to you from all kinds of places where all kinds of breeds of dogs. For sure. So study up. I'm telling you, they're going to hit you buy some shit, you don't eat. You're like, what? That's what Chile did. A Siberian bull mastiff type shit.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Yeah. you can have them in America. Man, I didn't see some crazy stuff. I didn't see some crazy stuff. Dogs that shouldn't even be together, but it's crazy. Came Corso with poodle hair on it. Bro. Close enough.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Husky Chihuahuas. Word. You know what I want? Like, when I chill? You feel? I want to give me a hound dog, bro. No, you don't. Yes, the fuck I do.
Starting point is 00:11:04 No, you don't. Yeah, I'm from the country. We fucked around and actually ended up getting one. For real? Oh, man. That was the best dog ever. Bro, we had a pit bull winged dog mix one time. Pit bull head, wing dog buddy.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Ask anybody, their name was Butch. Best dog we ever had. Bush, that's a, he was a killer, butch. People don't even have winning dogs no more. You remember them? Them long-ass dogs. What happened to him? They died out.
Starting point is 00:11:34 For real? Boy, them dogs can't survive. What's that shit called? Corgi. A corgi. I want one of those. I want one of those. I'm smart.
Starting point is 00:11:43 For sure. Hell yeah. But I'd be so busy. I don't have time. I'm gonna get me, I like, I want me a, I still want a fucking border collie like Lassie. Just to name it Lassie. I got a border collie. Yeah, I want one of those.
Starting point is 00:11:58 Um, the crazy-ass dogs that can make the cows and shit circle up. That's a border collie too. But the one, they always be mixed with the crazy colors, with the one blue eye and the, you know the one. A blue something. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. One of them.
Starting point is 00:12:14 I don't really like big ass dog, because I feel like, there's a big Scooby-Doo ass dog. Oh, fuck that. I had a 200-pound great day and over the house the other day. I ain't fucking with that. Huge. I ain't fucking with that. Took up my whole back seat.
Starting point is 00:12:27 I had to let the seats up. I ain't fucking with that. Let me see one more. American Bullet, like Peter from Little Rassels. All right, official. Okay. Yeah. I got, listen, man, I got so many people hit me up every day.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I had a black lab with three legs. Man, I took a leg. His leg got ran over. The doctor couldn't say it. He was colder with three legs than he was with four. He was moving. I believe it, man. Rest of peace to Alabama.
Starting point is 00:13:03 And that was Alabama? Yeah, we lived in Mississippi. We had a dog named Alabama. Okay. That's some country shit. That's country. It's a mug. Bro, I'll tell you, we're from the country.
Starting point is 00:13:13 Most of our dogs, we didn't even buy them. They just kind of, like, wandered in the yard and stayed. Facts. Facts. I don't feel like you're a black person if you never had a dog named Blackie or Smokey. Facts. Midnight. A couple of them.
Starting point is 00:13:29 We had two dogs. We had a, we named him Eikintina. What's the funniest dog names I ever heard? The funniest dog name I ever heard, a nigga had a dog named bitch. My boy Domingo named his dog, bitch. That's crazy. That's why this dog. So when he was,
Starting point is 00:13:48 Bitch, sit your head. It fit. I had a lady called her dog, sir. Sir. Yeah, like, sir, come here. Sir, no, sir. Like, her dog, her name was sir. Big old pit boy like you was talking about.
Starting point is 00:13:59 The name was sir. White people have some strange names. Smith and West and White folks. Captain Biscuits. Yep. Yep. Mr. Chewy. Mr. Chewy.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Shit like that. I think it's crazy when people get dog's human names. I mean. Devonte. Frank. Hey Bill. Alex.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I know his last name is a dog Frank. Frank. Yeah. That's, I don't know. I don't know. I thought you was going to bring something today. But I heard you wanted to bring too many. You couldn't just bring like two little ones or something.
Starting point is 00:14:35 I asked to bring one dog. What? It was a, it was one of the Hulk puppy. Oh. Yeah. Actually, we bring one dog. Come back, bring it. I want to see that dog.
Starting point is 00:14:45 I'll be more than willing to, bro. Yeah. Bring that motherfucker back. Please. Bring that. He's big as shit, ain't it? He's about seven months old. Yeah, he's...
Starting point is 00:14:53 How is his temperament? Real door sound, man. Real, real cool, relax. They're real chill, for real chill. Real? Yeah. They know they can't be fucked with, that's why. No, they...
Starting point is 00:15:03 They just chill, man. They just real, but when you bring it, you guys sit him over there, you know, because I watch when animals is attacking shit. You just be having an normal ass interview, and then you look and get your shit in the power. That's all we're worried about. Just insurance and stuff like that. I ain't even gonna do y'all like that way.
Starting point is 00:15:19 If I can't walk it off a leash, at Home Depot, I wouldn't bring in here. You bring the leash, all that. What if we were doing the interview, the dog just sitting there scratching this big-ass nuts? Hey, I'll wrap this up, man. Wrap this up, man. For sure, you're doing too much, my boy.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Well, no, man, for sure. We got plans, man. We got plans. Everything from to megastores, to the restaurant game, to the industry where, you know, a lot of people want to, I ain't going to take my, I'm going to show you off camera. But we got a whole blueprints, and we got whole ideas. We really, I'm really doing this shit, like, for real. I've been five, six years in the making. And it's been five years just to get here. But I got a five, ten, fifteen, twenty year plan.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Everything revolving around my brand. Man, let's open the kennel. I'm with you, bro. We're going to get online and we're going to find rare-ass dog breed. That ain't nobody got, that everybody won't. I'm gonna tell you, that's money too. I ain't even coming over there, I'm just let you do it. I hear you.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Silent partners. I hear you. Yeah. I'm with it. I'm with it. Let's do it. It's gonna be that plus more. I ain't bet.
Starting point is 00:16:28 You all have to, you got it then. That's what I'm here for, man. All right, well, Grant, you in? Yeah, for sure. All right, so we're gonna do the kennel and shit. That's, what phase is that of the place? Is that of the plan? It can be now.
Starting point is 00:16:41 It's already a kennel established. You just got to find a dog. Let's sit down and find a dog that you want. We go ahead, boom. Matter of fact. We need to find some profitable shit. You already got enough dogs that you like personally. The dogs I have right now, 50 grand apiece, 60 grand apiece.
Starting point is 00:16:53 100. 100. Okay, so let's do something. Let's go. Yeah. Let's go. Hell yeah. Teach the dog how to write his name and shit.
Starting point is 00:17:03 And cursive. Exactly. With his back foot. Yeah. Big plan. I'm trying to tell you, bro. Big plans. Well, shit. Since we're talking big money, we might as well.
