This man, you playing a mean, nigga, again. Listen, man, it's a movie, though. Let's get that out of the way. You know, black people, once we see you be too good in a movie, you don't never might beat it anymore.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Somebody chased me in the airport like three weeks ago. For real? And he's like, man, why you do that to do that? Tupac. I was like, what? No, for real. I was like it was a character. I know. Did you know that, man? He'd following me to the gate and everything. No, no, I just want to talk.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Why don't you do that? And I was like, man, this dude, this dude, security. We be too invested in the movies. Like, we take the character out of it. We don't need to say your name no more. We just keep calling you whatever we saw you on. They still call me June. Like the little kids from Brotherly Love, I don't know if y'all see this movie Brotherly Love. They still call me June,
Starting point is 00:03:52 like the character. I'd be like, he was laying people down in the movie. I'm like, no, I I've got kids now. Don't run up on me. Man, first of all, how you been, though, brother? I'm good, real good. You know her brother doing good when he got a linen suit, bro. Come on, man.

I'm just making them shit You think it's one of your best performances though? I think this performance is the best Divorce in the black And then the best experience

Starting point is 00:07:22 Did you read the script, but do you just like, niggins, Tyler Perry, oh, yeah, I read it. I read it, for sure. Oh, make sure it's something that you could, you know what I mean, pull out. I read the script, and, you know, I was just like, wow, this is a different character for me. And I knew our people, I knew our black people would get behind it, though. We get behind them characters. Right.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Oh, hell, yeah. And I said, you know, let's go. Get me down in Atlanta, let's do this. Man, that's hard. You have fun in Atlanta? I love Atlanta. How old food, everything. What place you hit up?
Starting point is 00:07:50 Y'all got good seasoning on food. You had some lemon-pebble wings? I didn't. I don't eat a lot of chicken wings. I'm sorry, though. Oh, my back. Well, you know. But I love Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Everything about Atlanta, man. The cheaper real estate, the houses. Yeah. You know, I love living in the woods. My family did that. My cousin. Okay, okay. They love it.
Starting point is 00:08:08 When the movie dropping? July 11, right? July 11th, the movie? I wanted to make sure that we liked. TV show July 8th, All-American Homecoming. I play a baseball coach, Coach Marcus. Okay. Yeah, that's on CW, and I'm on the shy as well, recurring.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Bro. on the shot that's a lot of work these are big projects that you're a part of man you're gonna be on press run till next year man i hopefully i start back working soon i'm just saying i mean i will you got them back to back i'm grateful so big salute to that man you y'all too was that we just had um big messer he was talking about his experience on the shot man okay give us some more to go yeah absolutely it was it like being on that on that cast and this because that show is just getting bigger and bigger um you know my nephew's actually on there he's Plays Papa. Starting point is 00:08:52 For real, that's my boy. That's my real nephew. Yeah. I ain't never doing it. He auditioned on his own guy at everything, so I'm proud of him. But it's great going home. I'm going back in two weeks to go to do an episode. So it feels good to go back home and work in your city where you're from, man. Tell me how you see his progression from like, you know, when he started as a real child, like, and to go up, like, do you ever give him tilts, pointers or anything like that? Yeah, I always tell his mom, my sister, Alicia, just keep him. Keep the main thing, the main thing.
Starting point is 00:09:22 A lot of these guys, they get off track. They get off track with the celebrity, the entourage. You know, I came in here by myself. And it's just like, I'm a grown-ass man. I look in the eye. I ain't in no guy. I want no problem. I just want love and peace.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Absolutely. But I'm still a man. You know, and just keep the main thing, the main thing, and you'll go far. I was just about to say, that's your real nephew. He auditioned got his own part. You got any more actors that might be lurking in the family? My son. Word.
Starting point is 00:09:48 But he wants to play basketball. He got offered jobs and movies and TV, but he just, he wants a hoop. And my daughter, who knows? You're going to look up in your uncle. Nobody knew one to be an actor going to say, bitch, I said. Yeah, Willie, Will it, Will it, Hartridge. Yeah, he's playing basketball. How old your son?
Starting point is 00:10:10 He just turned 13. Okay. Yesterday. I'm taking to the Beatty Awards tomorrow. Okay, that's a deal. We present the movie. Me and Megan getting on the stage, I'm nervous a little. It's my first time getting on the stage, so we're going to present the movie.
Starting point is 00:10:20 you know and he gonna get to see his father man see his black father yeah absolutely I'm his hero man man man we can literally sit here and do this all day man is anything you want to leave him with make sure you promote all them shows you just said we need dates channels whatever you got for the size on showtime okay
