Starting point is 00:14:38 Oh, yeah, that definitely be me right, huh? Yeah. Well, yeah, this is jazz, you know what I'm saying? Oh, Gino. Yeah. From the beginning, babe. Yeah. For the beginning, like, I put my best friend out.
Starting point is 00:14:50 I put my best friend out the group to put jazz in the group. Facts. I was made a witness that. It was great. Wow. That's great. Nobody knows that story every now. Whatever happened to him.
Starting point is 00:15:01 He's still my best friend and that's my man. Like if it wanted for him, I wouldn't have met nobody to turn into this group for it. Yeah. And, you know, it took a lot of years for us to, I guess, kind of had a conversation about that. Because he literally, like, took me to meet everybody. became this group. So, shout out to my man, bro. You got it.
Starting point is 00:15:24 What? What? So is it you? I don't know. All right. No, but you were doing that. Smoke. My number is 2018.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Been in four years, man. But been knowing Drew since what? Like 90, what? Yeah, we're on 19. Six and 37. You know, so. I mean, it's just like the family in union right now, man.
Starting point is 00:15:49 We're creating the niggas at the bottom. Absolutely. Black, 2018, but back. You came in the same time I did? Yeah. The rest of piece, static measure,
Starting point is 00:16:01 you know what I'm saying? That's a good player. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Like our group, y'all. Player, 1997. We met these cats. All you all affiliates.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Formed the brotherhood, you know what I'm saying? But if you know anything about player, you know, we from, player was from the Timberlin, Devonte Camp, basement, you know what I'm saying? So, Alia Genuine, misdemeanor, you know what I'm saying, Tweet, Tink, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:16:24 McGoo, the list goes on, no, man. Hell you. So every time you heard a male voice on Alia's music, that was done. Up on the, all the, all the, all the, all of, all the, I'm, I say from the, um, the Dr. Doolittle, the soundtrack. Nick, oh. Yeah. No, that's his shit. Yo, also, also, when y'all remember when Jodicey's held it different on the third album?
Starting point is 00:16:55 Mmm. Yeah. Come on, my. Thank you, Jee. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yeah. Hell yeah. Oh, me? Oh, I'm sister. What's up? What's up? Oh, hey, can I say this? Yo, y'all totally went in on me for having my show clothes on.
Starting point is 00:17:14 No, you had to wait on. You're not doing my best drift. Did you get them let me too? Have you all seen my first time? You are Cisco! We would not let you walk out on stage with no glow-up. Listen to me. Hold up, hold up.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I have to say it. I got to say this. You inspired everybody. I can't say this. Can y'all please play the actual performance? It was dope because I had my performance clothes on. Your son is my best drip. You didn't have to wear them.
Starting point is 00:17:47 This is my best drip. You didn't have to wear. My shoes cost more than everybody else's. Fast. Those are the shoes you're supposed to walk. No. But I had to perform directly after the show. I had to perform.
Starting point is 00:18:00 So you know what? You could have switched shoes. You could have switched shoes. Remember, my regular clothes. You could switch shoes. You did not have to wear them shoes that whole job. But when we performed, I know that you know how to do.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Number four, it's not. Since remember they came out with the shoes. And then you had turned the lights off and the shoes. I didn't know he'd be danced. I didn't want to see him rip his goddamn shoes. You know what else? Nobody else wanted to see nobody with blonde hair.
Starting point is 00:18:31 But now everybody had blonde. You're welcome. You're right. I'm a trinsetter. You are in trim center. You are a trin center. Wait, he's a trin center. Because he walked on them asses on that beach.
Starting point is 00:18:47 That nigga walked on all the looters. And you're hitting the dog. Who ain't get to yet? Did you speak? No, we ain't talked to jazz yet. Yes, it did. Yeah, yeah. No, jazz didn't really have it.
Starting point is 00:19:02 They said original. Oh, right. I'm Teo. I've been here since. Tale Soprano. Tail Soprano. Okay. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:19:15 Hey, it means the path of the way. You know what I'm saying? That's just what it mean. It's about the struggle. Like, you know, Black and Smoke was talking about, like, just making it to this platform and actually getting to live and experience this great, you know, this greatness.
Starting point is 00:19:32 And he also has six octaves. Yeah. And his natural voice, not of your fault, he's natural. Tell you, motherfucking surprise. That's all your shit. Yeah, and also, Teo and Jack Thriller set this up for us to be here to talk to y'all tonight. You appreciate Jack.
Starting point is 00:19:55 He had to get that out of that. He leaned up. Just because you're going to say what you. Hey, man. On some real shit, bro. People are always making fun of my niggins. Jack talking about his own shit, man. But that nigga really be looking out.
Starting point is 00:20:11 You do. No, you didn't... I didn't... I ain't time I got one side and he's like, both sides. Even when that nigga can't see, even when he can't see he's looking out. Oh, man. Could you introduce yourself?
Starting point is 00:20:29 No guess. First, so... I'm the motherfucker that's the reason to everybody here. Facts. Let's go. Like, I ain't even being funny. My name, man. Put the motherfucker fucking thing to me.
Starting point is 00:20:42 Put it all together. All these niggas know he doesn't because of me. Fuck that shit. My name is... It's through who. Nick. I'm drunk. Like, not even, like, not even saying that, like, on those, like, ego shit.
Starting point is 00:20:57 But it's like, for real, like, it's a thing for real. We all got, like, the thing that made us who we were is like, we all got rolled. And my role is the role when it's time to roll. Roe. Right. I'm gonna say a lot of cuss words and shit, but, and you know, I'm gonna, I'm gonna act crazy. Say your shit. At the end of the day, like, we hear because I used to make the niggins band and sing songs.
Starting point is 00:21:28 So, you know, like, that's neat. And also, can I just interject on yours? When y'all listen to Beauty, that's all Nokia on the background. I can kind of say. We only did, we only did, we only did, like, one part. No, he, he sang one note. I said, look, this shit sound good, but I need to text it on the song, so people will believe it's the Drew Hill. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:54 It was like, anything you want inside my heart. No, all that was the only one, but all that walks my man, hoping I can make you, man. All of that was him. So go back and listen to Beauty. And I was singing about my baby mother. Oh, man. So not only is he a producer and a writer, but he, no girl can actually sing when he feels like.
Starting point is 00:22:15 And he's a baby father. He's a narrator too. True, that, true. And he's a hell of a father, though. There he's a hell of a father. Right. You said, yeah. Come on in.
Starting point is 00:22:26 Don't do that. Don't do that. Girl. I'm gonna add there for shit off some shit, because I'm not, I just, in the last two years, learned how I do a run, because I never wanted to know I sing for real,
Starting point is 00:22:38 Because I figured it was too many niggas around that could sing, and I like to talk and write, I wanted to be Devante. I ain't want to be Devante as far as being the person. But, like, that lame was, like, I could kind of lay back and I could write the records, but I could be there. And if I got to sing people, like, oh, shit, they can sing for real. Yo, but these guys can sing so well that, like, when it's time to actually sing,
Starting point is 00:23:07 Yo, you got to push through nerves. You need a fucking joke like that. We over at the most shit. Yo, I was just saying that these guys can sing so well that when it's your turn to sing, yo, it's like getting in the boxing. It's like getting in the boxing ring. You got to get out there and you got show and prove
Starting point is 00:23:30 or a nigga will definitely send you a note. No, you can't get out there and show him proof because this girl's going to sing and live you can't sing and do a one the one hand jam at the same time it'd be upside down while you sing a running you're like I can't do that
Starting point is 00:23:49 no wait first of all these two these two and then this one and start with them he will hit a note in his natural voice that's the same as this guy singing first of all
Starting point is 00:24:04 jazz got the best ball set on the planet in my personal opinion. Come on with it. And they, they brought. Yeah, it is. And they will hear some notes that will make you sing. And then these guys
Starting point is 00:24:16 will come to hold the harmony down. So you haven't got no choice, Scola. Francisco, you know what to say? He don't want to say? No, no, no. He had to say any day.
Starting point is 00:24:28 It was our first time singing the song that he's leading. Right. And come wrote. I wrote, I really wrote that verse for jazz, to be honest, and I referenced it. It was like, no, I mean, you stand on that one. Right. I'm just keeping it up up.
Starting point is 00:24:48 You're like, to write it for jazz, I was just honored to even be able to just pen to it. But just make a story before we get into a whole bunch of shit. Like, Scholar, when we were teenagers, I mean like kids. Yeah. Like Scholar was one of the first people. one of the first people that we sort out to like write songs for us or even be a part of the group because he's like I mean in the early 90s he already had like his own on his own coming out of Baltimore so it was like we just wanted to you know constantly connect with people
Starting point is 00:25:22 that was doing that thing so you know it's like he like he was like an OG to us Yeah, yeah. Oh, you know, let's get birthday. Oh, my man, Chris Robertson, man, Chris Robertson. Hey, Chris Robinson. The first movie was the movie ATL. And I learned the game early, the business early, too. So to this day, man, big shot for Chris.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Yeah, Chris shot the video for incomplete. Exactly. And he shot, and he shot, and he shot, I should be. Oh, yeah. He did that part. Oh, that's one. And we're looking out. Let's get personal wins in the movie ATL, man.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Yeah, let's go. What's y'all favorite, like, back then the videos was always... The favorite one? What was your favorite one to go crazy? We would go there. Like, when we went there with the man with the iron mask, that was a bad. The medieval shit. That's hard.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Right, but they're doing it now. They're doing it now because... Drayton is in the meantime. Drinking in the future, yeah. No, but it was like... We would have ideas, the cool thing about, I would say, if I look back now, is that like, as many ideas as we had, like, the record company had ideas. So they were bringing us stuff that we would kind of be like, like, in my bed. Yeah, they were like, on the three little beds thing.
Starting point is 00:26:49 I was like, there ain't nobody doing that. And the girls going to do what? Because it wasn't something that people were doing. But, you know, in hindsight, it's like, we set, I feel like we set the tone for. but people being able to... Hold on you being to PC. He means lesbian. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:05 What the fuck? Like, we were the first, like, we would... They're putting that in video. If you want me to be Nokia, because I'm trying to ask. Let's go. Come on.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Come on. It's 85 South, maybe. That's how we do. I feel like to have lesbians in the video. Like, literally, like, just... But you created the term rainbow girls. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:24 We love you guys. No, no. Actually, actually. Shout to my man in heaven. Sway-L-G, rainbow girls came from Prince. Oh, for real? Wow. I never knew that.
Starting point is 00:27:37 That makes sense. Because the rainbow girls apparently love us. Yeah. I don't know why. But, you know what I'm saying? Just that whole, you know, thing. When they came to us, like, it was almost like, we didn't really know what was going to happen in the video until the end.
Starting point is 00:27:54 And then it was like, oh, yeah. And, you know, the girl going to tickle you with the feather. and whatever and then you know you're going to leave out wait can we tell the real story real story is everybody sang in my big
Starting point is 00:28:09 right 112 jagged age usher everybody sang the record but nobody was able oh he won't play that game today no I'm just saying it
Starting point is 00:28:20 nobody was able to break first of all I didn't even fucking want to sing the song you absolutely that's why that's why in the song I'm like you're just saying they're mad at hand Hell yeah! I was like, I'm like sleeping in my bed.
Starting point is 00:28:33 That I know about it, come. Everybody's a friend. Every song in Cisco go, every song Cisco don't like, it's going to be a head right. Oh, that's how you know. Except for the ones that I wrote. Right. And I own those masters.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Uh-oh. You all. That was facts. Ha-ha. We got you. I got y'all. See you later. You want to get my bed?
Starting point is 00:29:02 No. Who the fuck wants to sing about somebody sleeping in their bed? No, you know, I mean the niggins to get related to that shit? That's shit. Brough? Niggas, need it, that one. Look at me. We needed that one.

Starting point is 00:32:49 And then me too happened. And then everybody else wanted to get pissed off because the white said it was okay. Problem. My oldest daughter, her first day in ninth grade, and I called to ask how it was going. She was like, oh, dad, all they were doing was talking about your thing in class. I ruined my baby's first day of high school. And slumflower. What turns me on is when a man sends me money.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Like, I feel the moisture between my legs when a man sends me money. I'm like, oh, my God, it's go time. You actually sent it? Listen to the Good Mom's Bad Choices podcast every Wednesday on the Black Effect Podcast Network. The I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you go to find your podcast. I always had to be so good No one could ignore me. Carve my path with data and drive.
Starting point is 00:33:31 But some people only see who I am on paper. The paper ceiling. The limitations from degree screens to stereotypes that are holding back over 70 million stars. Workers skilled through alternative routes rather than a bachelor's degree. It's time for skills to speak for themselves. Find resources for breaking through barriers
Starting point is 00:33:50 at tailorpapersealing.org. Brought to you by opportunity at work and the ad council. But for real, these new niggas, if these new niggas that sang in my bid, right? It went through the roof because they emote and they won't be a mo. Like, we was still, like, for real,
Starting point is 00:34:09 we were still coming out of light skin R&B. Facts. Life skin R&B. You were telling the big, you were telling the big, y'all would tell the big, y'all was telling me if they do. Oh, oh, wait, oh, we got to interject. Yeah, now. I'm glad you got to interject.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Wait a minute. What is my skin on me? Y'all would tell the business how y'all, like they need to break up with their nigga and come to you. Y'all, y'all like step one. Walk through that door. Right, because you know he was like me. He's not like he was before.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Hey, you don't know if he'd be before. Now three. Come to me. Step four. I love you on. I love you on. Bro. I should be your voice.
Starting point is 00:34:53 I should be your voice. Yeah I see you I feel like There's some bullshit I know You know You know that's
Starting point is 00:35:04 Oh no Y'all even said it It might sit like a lady Ha Ha ha Yeah Oh One
Starting point is 00:35:15 One that one Walk through that door Step two Tell me Like he was before You don't love him anymore Sing next show
Starting point is 00:35:33 Love me Come to me Step 4 I love you more You will see how love should be But there's four steps to come leave Oh Oh, this is full about you.
Starting point is 00:35:54 This is the favorite episode, man. This is my favorite episode, man. This is for... Wait, wait, wait, you know. You're doing that thing to talk about. Man, I'm about to tell. I got so much push out of these songs. Say what you want to say.
Starting point is 00:36:14 I got so much push out of these songs. Same to what. I didn't apologize. We threw these songs and everything. And everything. Yeah, say what you want to say. We got to address the elephant in the room. Y'all, sir, wasn't getting legends.
Starting point is 00:36:26 The elephant in the room, where's wood? Where's wood in it, though? I would test going to say that, but I kept looking at it. I'm like, that ain't him? That's not that. I know. That's not. That's sick of it.
Starting point is 00:36:36 That's sick of it. Just so everybody knows. Just so everybody knows. I want to say it one of the time. I want to say one of the time. Whoever wants to be a part of, The Drew Hill celebration Because every member that ever been
Starting point is 00:36:55 is always in blacked So if you don't want to be here Then that's okay But just so you know Whomever Which is only one other person Okay That's what I want to say how many niggas
Starting point is 00:37:09 Have been a nigga? A million Can I say something? Can I say something for real? Yeah And it's just for one time If you don't want to be a part of the group and not wanting to be a part of the group please don't say that i'm the president of the illuminati he did say he was the president of the illuminati like i signed my name of blood
Starting point is 00:37:34 and our contract for everybody and all this i'm crazy but it's okay we all go through our things he just i just want to say once and for all y'all want to elementary shoes and if he ever wants to be in back in Drew Hill he can always come get his check his check we got his name he got his own office it's a bunch of mail for you brother um everybody come back and like and the reason why i said that because like we go through we brother so you're going to be crazy shit so like my mother called me up about that shit like a lot of shit that he was saying that it was like I just saw him and a lot of times when stuff would happen when people would see shit it would be like we just saw him so we didn't understand so when we when we came together when we came to call it
Starting point is 00:38:29 you understand well we can't well no he got to be hanging out with him no but what I'm saying is when we can't together to do what we're doing right now I think the the bottom line of everything we're saying is that we reached out of it it wasn't like we just did it and said all right whatever because he said, whatever, even down to the wire of starting to figure out for him. And we're from Baltimore and the wire. And, you know, he said that, you know, he's at peace with who he's at. So it's like, because a lot of times, like, people come into our pages and it's like, y'all kind of, like, harassing this man to this, but, like, we're telling y'all that this man
Starting point is 00:39:09 say he's cool, and y'all, like, harassing us and kind of, like, by where that harassing him, like to do something that he's saying he don't want to do right now like that's not like maybe one day it might be it because for real it was all the time when one of us was somewhere else i got a chance to talk to woody on the phone about okay all right and woodie was like ciscoe he wanted to take his shirt off too and you you you were star oh christ i'm saying you want to take his shirt off he said why i can't take my shirt off I swear up. Because, you know what? Because take your shirt off. Say it! Well, I'm gonna ask you to not, if I got two sisters and they say, hey, if your stuff ain't, if everything ain't tight, keep your shirt on.
Starting point is 00:40:07 I could take my shirt off now. It's a different demographic. Yeah. All women don't like niggins that's his shape, right? That would it take a shot, would it? I hear what this one's that? You don't stay and take a shout out and y'all nigger ain't judging, man.
Starting point is 00:40:24 What's the man? What's the minute? All they don't want a nigger that's in shape, women like drug deal about his tooth. Women know what a... Just like niggins be looking at women who had kids, they know when a nigger had some kids. They're like that nigger shaped like somebody dad.
Starting point is 00:40:44 They like that nigger. Like this shit. Hey, you know what? Y'all said my body. Wait, women like that, buddy. Listen, I can admit when I was wrong. Okay, tell what did you mean?
Starting point is 00:40:54 Maybe I was wrong. They don't give a fuck if you got a stomach if your own strong. That's shit. I didn't give a fuck. Women like strong arms. Four-arm veins and shit. What the fuck you're going to say? I had to, like for real, and it's not being funny,
Starting point is 00:41:14 I looked at Jodacy And I was like, y'all, I'm skinny I weighed like 115 pounds I got tattoos Fuck lifting weights Fuck having a chest When I take this shit off I'm crazy than everybody else around
Starting point is 00:41:28 But you got to Hold on just the best shit about being in a group You're not about to all get the same kind of holes anyway What everybody want to be in shape For the same bitch go No No, no, I'm taking my shirt off, Sisko get me if you want to.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Hit some bitches on this side, like me. There's some holes over there. Sisko, you're in the front. Don't worry about what I'm doing on the hill on the right. You can't have the front and the right. Then Jay is about to get the left. Come on, man. Open your shirt up and let them hose of your tits and y'all go up there and go straight.
Starting point is 00:42:10 Yo, for the record, I'm a eight. It's okay. Skola got the first three rolls in the middle anyway. Do you both? Come. Can I tell you all some real shit? Can I tell you all right? We had a point.
Starting point is 00:42:23 We had a point in life. And this came down from the record company. This came down from the record company. Brow. There was some shit, you don't know. We had a point in life where motherfuckers in the record company was like Nokia got stopped taking his shirt. shirt off because he'd be taking
Starting point is 00:42:45 his shirt off at the same time his Cisco and they only want to one nigga to be sexy? Wait, put you. All y'all niggins can't be sexy? No, hold up. It was in the deposition. No, no, no. Who ain't going to be? Everybody got to have a clothes on now.
Starting point is 00:43:01 No, no bullshit. No bullshit. Listen to what I'm saying. Put your goddamn shit on. Wait a minute. Wait. Jazz. I see why your ass don't come around. Put your back. No.
Starting point is 00:43:13 What I'm saying? Oh shit. The motherfuckers had a 9-1-1 meeting, y'all. You got to understand how the music went to go. And they said, y'all got to understand how the music went to go. The motherfuckers had a 911 meeting and they said, Nokia got to stop taking his shirt because he feels like he's competing with Cisco and no. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:42 You know about this? I'm gonna say something. What? I'm gonna say something, right? Yo, y'all just making me laugh right now. Okay, hold on, wait. We got down. Yo, we got down.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Me and Nokia were just skinny, that was it. When Joseph said would come out, right? These nigga have them overall, all four, all four, them were skinny as fuck. Right. Overall, you could shit red. Right. We were just skinny.
Starting point is 00:44:03 It was the bad, it was all that. Y'all looked was, y'all look was, y'all went fucking knew how to dance and actually the same. Oh. So it didn't even the look. Y'all didn't even the look. Oh, what's the, it didn't matter what y'all gave us. If that was going on behind the dog,
Starting point is 00:44:17 the niggas was like, put the shirt on, put the shirt on. Niggas ain't get my fucking, man, wait a minute. No, but I can tell you, let me tell you another story. We didn't give a much of money. This is the shit that made you understand the music finish, right? We had that moment, right? And it was, for me, it was like, damn, like, but I spent so much time before we had a deal learning the business
Starting point is 00:44:38 that I was like, nigger, I just want to be the best background, a nigga ever walk in the face of her. Right. And I wanted to be the best background saying if somebody else was doing leave. But what you got understanding this shit is... He's talking about somebody else was going to leave.
Starting point is 00:44:53 You have to do. You ain't shit. You have to leave you. Right. No. No. Yeah, yeah. He didn't get this.
Starting point is 00:45:05 No. It's his job to break my phone. You know, I have you. What are you? Give me that song. Look at this one. First of all. No, no.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Like three. Like, what this is. Like, what this shit is, for real as shit ever. Like, if you won't progress. Right. And that's the real of shit ever. And that's the problem with niggas in R&B. Right?
Starting point is 00:45:36 I was young and skinny. No, niggins ain't got that. Now I'm older. You're going to. You're going to. have a leader right and then it's up to you
Starting point is 00:45:47 to figure out what you want to do because the motherfucking premise of this shit is to break this shit that chaos one said break this shit down to the
Starting point is 00:46:00 calmest denominator is one person there's a lot of y'all niggas how can we get to the center of the motherfucking tissue roll pipe that don't mean a person one do nothing But that's the motherfucking mentality.
Starting point is 00:46:15 So with us, with us, the reason why we're here, 30 years, 25 years later, is because no matter what happened, it was like, we're going to form Voltron. And that's what y'all did. Y'all can't fuck with us. Like, a lot of niggas got broken up, a lot of niggas got, you know, shit. And, you know, like, that shit don't be what it is. Like, with us, like, no matter what, we've been in this shit since we were. kids. Like, I think that's one thing that
Starting point is 00:46:44 people forget. Right. Like, we've literally been in this shit since we were... We've spent more time around each other than we spent around our parents. Thanks. I talked to Woody. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:46:56 You act like you're texting them now, my man. What the fuck is he going? Would is there anything you want me to say that is what a nigga's right? I didn't hear you open the phone. You just think of all fucking like is this nigga signed over his
Starting point is 00:47:11 why I'm fucking shit to you, niggins? This is all the last time. He told me that one of the reasons why he had quit the group is because Prince told him that the dragon represent the devil. Oh, Jesus Christ. All right, so can I address that?
Starting point is 00:47:25 Oh, that's when he was going on with this question. No. Can I address that? My son name is dragon. Can I address all that? And I'm the dragon. He's a dragon too, so. I probably got more dragons
Starting point is 00:47:37 tattooed on me than anybody in his group besides the at the end of the day you got to respect all cultures and when there are several writings of the Bible there is the King James version this version that version that version some versions say that it's a worm another dragon says I mean another version says this what I'm going to say I'm just saying my kids are half Asian they don't look at the dragon it's bad
Starting point is 00:48:13 so at the end of the day you're not going to tell me that you're not going to be in the group because of my son because my son name is dragon it's Ryu look it up
Starting point is 00:48:26 at the end of the day in Japanese is dragon at the end of the day let me give you the long short version right the short Woody was trying to go home
Starting point is 00:48:37 while we were still recording our first album I would be in the lobby at the hotel in Philly while we were recording the Sigma while he will be pleading to the dude we decided to let him out the car rate, whatever.
Starting point is 00:48:50 Oh, okay, hold on. So this shit, hold up, so this shit deeper than just take the shirt up. Now, we're going to give it We're going to give it all that. So we're going to give it all that. So, so you had that component, right? We, I'm the person.
Starting point is 00:49:07 The songs that Woody had by his we would go in the it was at my house Woody wasn't the wrote songs if it won for me being like yo you can write come on my house Right and when he wanted to not be in the group we got him a deal
Starting point is 00:49:23 So when he wanted to not be in a group We got him a deal To do his music Let me give it Let me give it all the way So the reason why Woody had The individual songs on the album Was because I'm like sitting in this room
Starting point is 00:49:38 and we're going to go through this notebook until we find a song that everybody want to love. So, duh, duh, dude, because how baby is your love for me?
Starting point is 00:49:52 I didn't want to sing that. The craziest and all of this. I don't want to sing shit. I see what the problem is. What do you want to sing? Tell me. You didn't want to sing nothing. Tell them what to sing shit.
Starting point is 00:50:02 I don't want to say. If we want to say, tell me. I want to say to tell me. I want to sing to tell me. You got about two songs that we did, that's actually one song, that weren't hit. Right, right, but the two songs that I wasn't to say are our biggest fucking song. The man made it to sit there, to put this to bed, to put this to bid, to put this to bid, regardless of what you see online, right? And I don't care, because ain't nobody's saying that.
Starting point is 00:50:34 At the end of the day, regardless of what you see on line. When he did unsung, what he said, he went home because he wasn't getting enough shot. He said it all on something. Oh. He said it on something. But he told us he went home because of something completely different. And I ain't going to put that on tape. So what I'm saying is, so what I'm saying is when it comes down to it, don't get mad that what you thought was going to work out for you.
Starting point is 00:51:05 Didn't work out the way you wanted it to work out. Because everybody gave you the opportunity, and you literally could have came back here and did nothing but staying here and make money. Right. And you decided to say that I was the devil. You decided to say to the sign of my name and blood and the contract and all the other stuff that I literally just saw you and you ain't say that. And that's what hurts. That's what hurts. It don't matter about all the whatever and stuff.
Starting point is 00:51:33 It's like when you look in my face, when you, when I introduce you to you to. my kids and you say shit like that i'm gonna say this real quick no for you to see what you just said with the intensity you just said it but you just say that the woody face-to-face it well you know no no he's not going he ain't gonna come in my face saying i know i know he ain't gonna come up but i literally but i'm the first day i'm talking about i live in baltimore from telling you catch a heck to my house a niggins to write these songs to sit on on this steps to drink we was just talking about this on the way of my house I'm a bad influence nobody did nothing for they met me you come on my house smoke drink
Starting point is 00:52:16 without because my mom I'm a total drunk now so so let me say and then like look I don't enough a bunch of times I don't love more than any nigga here and when I leave on the table why I'm gonna leave want some real shit I ain't gonna take you no sugar coat or whatever so to do what you do and then to do something to the point when my mother guy called me up and all you had to do is say, I feel like I didn't get enough attention
Starting point is 00:52:44 but you got work for their attention. The attention can't just be me being in the room telling you the song to sing and putting you with the producer or producing myself because at the end of the day man this nigga is a fight to the motherfucker
Starting point is 00:52:58 at the end of the day to make sure we got the best shit possible. Call each other all kinds of shit whatever and you know just now we just now. So was that video the child did? Was that the last one? Oh, yeah, that was it.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Wait, what? No, hell of them. Well, he did the intro when he was hugging the girl and all that. Nah, that was before that. Wai, Wai, West, where did he was in? And wasn't in the end. If you look at Wawa West, if you look at Wawa West, Will Smith didn't smack.
Starting point is 00:53:28 Nobody in that. But if you look at Wawa West, you see, it's four of us in the beginning, and it's only three of us. Because Woody put the group, and he was like, In the middle of the video? I could just finish the video. He quit the group and made us sing a gospel song in the middle of the video shit.
Starting point is 00:53:48 We didn't sing the gospel song. No, he did sing the gospel. He put the gospel song on. I don't give a fuck who ain't singing. He put the gospel song in the motherfuckers. He did play that gospel song. And by y'all being his friends, y'all sung it with him, right? No.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Yes, he did. Oh, why? Everybody sang his song. towards the answer, everybody got in the song. And he said he was leaving because of... But he was like, I'll finish the video. And he said, like, if you're leaving and leave now. Hey, what ain't do shit to y'all, dude?
Starting point is 00:54:20 Nah. He wasn't. He wasn't. Hey, fuck that, man. Hey, man. No, fuck that. I'm talking to him, bro. Bro, tell me some good shit, bro.
Starting point is 00:54:34 What, again? Everybody got damn nerves in this. What was going on in the player, bro? No, for real, it ain't in them about that nigger getting on the... What y'all were doing over there with Tim, bro? What Missy be doing? Right. Mr. Meena?
Starting point is 00:54:48 Picket, pick it. In my head. I love... Shout out to Big World Tim. What'd have this, motherfucker, man, man, man. Mr. Benner, Gene Wayne? No, no, for real. What Gene Wham were doing?
Starting point is 00:54:57 No. You know, for real. Pony? I feel like... You wrote that shit, man. You wrote that shit? You wrote that shit? Hey, bro.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Static rock on it, Static wrote it. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? Vocal range, and such. Yeah. Alia's last album, the red album, we worked on that. Hell yeah, that shit was happy.
Starting point is 00:55:19 It was fine. It was fine. The Doctor Doolittle soundtrack, you know. Humble brothers, man. Yeah. What's your favorite song that you not did over that up? One that you did, like, I tell you this one. Most memorable.
Starting point is 00:55:33 We wrote this song for Alia called Erica Kane. You can probably find it online just on some other, just on some search shit, but it was just, it was probably one of my favorite disclos. It was, it wasn't about just, it wasn't about love or anything. It was about life, you know what I'm saying? But it was a little, record company felt like it was a little too harsh. It was called Erica Kane. It was about a family member being on drugs. Herka Kane being, you know what I'm saying? It's a cool way to say, talk about crack, the crack epipadip. She actually recorded it, but it didn't make the album this because they felt like it was, you know, too harsh for her for what they were shown to. Can we explain to our connection in the town? For people that don't understand? Go here, right here. Take that little. So for people that don't really understand and, you know, may look at, you know, the group of times, like, how did all this happen?
Starting point is 00:56:28 Why so many niggas? Right. In 97, when we had finished, our second album, we got a chance to do the first tour that we could do by ourselves, like it was our tour. And, you know, shut out to my oldest son's mother and my son who just graduated for more house. She used to be on me every day, like, you know, if you're on work with Playa, and if you don't do a song with Smokey, like, for real, like, I'm going to cuss you out for real. So, you know, the first tour that we got to do by ourselves, I was like, we need to bring Play on to us. Yo, can I just put everything into perspective?
Starting point is 00:57:24 Nokia has been the orchestrator, the maestro of Drew Hill the whole time. Since the beginning. Yeah. Right. And it's like even when people want to be a part or don't want to be a part, he knows the whole story about it. He asked those guys when Jan needed to take some time off. This nigga is so dope, it took two people to fill his place. place. And he found it. He found them. Yo, and jazz was the one that found this sixth octave
Starting point is 00:58:01 nigga. Yeah. Yeah. And I know another nigga that you sign. And me, and me, me and ski, me and me and skis, me and skis. God, that ain't skis. Hey, hey, hey, we out here. Like, we're on the back, back to get the walls. That's what I'm saying. What I'm saying is, yo. Scola, yo, I've always had, like, a lot of respect for him as an artist, as a professional artist. And anytime I've reached out, he's always just, like, been accommodating. And at the end of the day, man, I really appreciate you guys having us on the show because we don't really get a lot of the accolades that we feel maybe we should get.
Starting point is 00:58:53 Y'all, goats, niggins. Shit. Like, new cats. Man, shit. Fuck all that. I'm just sure. Y'all's better than a lot of niggins. We never really, like, cared about that.
Starting point is 00:59:05 We just do it for the music. Can I tell you something? Like, when we were talking about this, I was saying this, like, a lot today. Like, for real, I never cared about how many records that I just could sell more than nothing. I did. You can care.
Starting point is 00:59:23 We're talking about some shit. Then you don't know they want to sing the shit. We chart the highest. We chart the highest. We saw the most. We're the best. We're fucking pop, R.B, and hip hop. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:37 I'm going to back for it. No, no. We're going to be coming back. Watch this, you go-ass, man. I don't want you. Just go out of here. Now watch, let's pivot over the jazz. No.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Come on. Yeah. Yeah. You always be in the background, man. You'd be sacking your ass off OG. Hey man, it's enough as in the motherfucking group, but I play my puck. Listen, when I see, when I'm having you all playing, they're like, who that big nigga here, them? Huh? Every time I be having your video, the girl would be like,
Starting point is 01:00:10 Who that big, yeah, yeah, yeah. They were always like, look a bit back. I mean, you're talking about DVD player, I'm like, man, what about, man. You're not dancing. See you in the mother. You're like in the beginning, like, one of the things that made us dope was the fact that, like, Cisco, of course he could do what he do, but it was like jazz was right there dancing with Cisco.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Yeah, it's killing shit. Damn, you know. Tokyo shit, jazz. This is like the second best dancer and no cap. For real. You get every move. I put that on, anything. Yeah, because I don't give up about dancing.
Starting point is 01:00:51 Fuck all that shit. This is shit with my body be like, nigga, I'm not doing that. So let's stick to whatever. But this nigga right here, like, but not even, even beyond all that, like, this motherfucker can pick up any instrument and within like 15, 20 minutes he playing to a whole song.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Hold on, how many other instruments you play? Oh, um, everything. He's there. They're like friends. Well, bass, drums, keys. A little, a little song. People always want to know that jazz work on a solo project for itself. Yes.
Starting point is 01:01:24 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. A lot of the songs you heard from, like, music, Soul Child and stuff like that was actually a... You had a music soul child song? Well, yeah, me and music was on the one's record. That's a pro-fi. That's a song. That was a jazz song?
Starting point is 01:01:41 I had that one. You made that first song. Hit the things. I don't first do that with Jill Scott. She had just sold like 5 million records. And the motherfucker is hot. I mean, like still to the day. I mean, I got a lot of records, man.
Starting point is 01:01:53 So what's on you do? Tell the record. Look, I want to hear that. What? This thing? A lot of the stuff that came out. So he had half phrase it first. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:03 There's a lot of songs, man. That's how they've been. It's like, yo. Yo, no, no, no talk. We call Nocto Maven. Because Maven, if you look it up in the dictionary, means wisdom. The thing is that note talks very fast a lot of times. Y'all don't really get all of the information they're giving you guys.
Starting point is 01:02:26 He was a part of my album, the best ballad I ever sang, was written by Nokia. And I'm asking this album. Facts. And I didn't even know that because... Hold on. No, the first one went with the plastic without a suit on. And y'all was like, yeah, the best drip on. I'm like, aye, nigga, this is my mother.
Starting point is 01:02:52 I'm gonna come up. Hello. I was so, I was so sensitive about that. I was like, what's my best? All right, do you want the best? Hey, yo, hold on, come on. You're talking about, no. Oh, right?
Starting point is 01:03:10 That wasn't enough. That was Jones. Hey, yo, Sisko, what I called you earlier about? Ecstasy Jones, right? Yeah. You know about that? The only thing, yeah. The only thing you haven't done for me.
Starting point is 01:03:22 It's told you how your name is Ecstasy. You don't remember that John? No. You know you get down. Uh-huh, uh-huh. So, girl, when I'm getting around. Okay, okay. There it go.
Starting point is 01:03:36 There's like the first joint thing. There. Don't know. Mm-hmm. Let's see John, boy. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. I told you why I was crazy.
Starting point is 01:03:46 Show these niggins why y'all are the ghosts. Uh-huh, uh-huh. Love you from your ain't. We have never sang. Oh, okay. Because a lot of old niggins can't sing. We'll figure it up. Come on.
Starting point is 01:03:57 You get me. You're justin, I don't have heard these nigger. I don't know. I don't know what I do. I don't know what I do. I don't know it is. Yeah. I don't know it is.
Starting point is 01:04:08 Yeah, man, I'm gonna weenna. I'm cool, man. Man, everybody got their role in the group. The cap. And I never gave a fuck about singing for real. Like, my rule used to be like, if I can't do it within 15 minutes, give me out the booth because that ain't what I do.
Starting point is 01:04:26 And, like, from the beginning, it was like, me and Cisco used to sing all the league. And then the more niggas that I met that could sing better, it was like, yeah. Yo, I got to, you got to put your old, you got to put your old bass on when you're going with these. When I saw, I didn't want to beat Devonte. You know, like, motherfuckers want to mimic people. Like, and I've met Devante.
Starting point is 01:04:50 We had a good conversation about a lot of shit. But my thing with Devonte was like, I was like, yo, I could be a nigga in the group that could write the songs. Yeah, I ain't got to sing shit. And I can get bitches. Yeah, but you were singing the line of shit. I want that. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:07 So, look. Come on, Tedmore, tell you, man. Oh, no. No, no, I'm trying to sing a song on the Drewwell or the Albuquer. Men always regret getting over, right? Yeah. Okay, I went to move the door, right? Okay, I can hold my own, but...
Starting point is 01:05:22 I went into the flu, though. He led the whole song. I had the flu, yo. True Bill. Margo, men always regret getting over, that's the name of the record. Oh, shit. When he referenced it, right? When he referenced it, right?
Starting point is 01:05:35 I felt like I didn't do the justice. You know what? You know what? Like he needs. That was a bullshit. I never knew that. You know what I said? Real tough.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Real tough. No, yo. Yeah. I was wrong. All these years later. You know, I feel cheap. I really ain't. You didn't tell me that.
Starting point is 01:05:53 I never. Y'all keep a lot of secrets from me. Y'all need to talk as a family. Thank you. Thank you. Y'all finding out shit today. No, yo. No, for real.
Starting point is 01:06:06 Alright, this way. You know, so. I don't even knew that. How you not know this shit? I don't fucking know about that. 2000. How you not know? The first Christmas that I was home, like, I saw myself, like, no family, like, baby mother gone, like, key gone, like the first, you know, Christmas like that, right?
Starting point is 01:06:29 And I started writing the song, and I called him up. No. I started playing for him on the keyboard. And I was like. Yeah, you got, in 1999, seven, did he change my life. Uh-huh. And, you know, whatever. And I'm like, yeah, you got to sing this song.
Starting point is 01:06:45 And by the time I got you to the hook, he was like, I don't know how I'm not singing that, yo. You got to feel that. Yo, remember when I was, when I was going to sing it, I had the goddamn flu. No, but, like, one thing. So on that song, did you hear me? I'm sick.
Starting point is 01:07:02 No, but, but, like, if I was the right-e- Yeah, and that bitch with a blanket on. Bro. I'm saying a lot of stuff. Bro, no, that's true. That's funny. The stuff that I can do as far as the singer. Like, everybody would come in and, like, sing whatever the pain was that they felt.
Starting point is 01:07:21 I remember him saying to me, like, I went through this period where I didn't want to write a whole bunch of songs because I'm like, I write all the sad stuff. And he was like, yo, you know how I write pain. And I was like, but I'm heavy right now. Like, I don't want to write it. It was like, but. Sometimes that's just what it is, and it took me a long time. You know, you know, who I credited to you for real? Marie J. Bligey. Blige, for real.
Starting point is 01:07:46 Yeah. She said to me one day, and, you know, I ain't going to go through all or whatever, but she was talking to me about some stuff, and she asked me if I was still writing and producing. And I was, at the time, I was like, no, I'm going through it. And she was like, I had to wake up one day and basically you'd be like, this is my gift. Like, I got, like, how can I not?
Starting point is 01:08:06 do what I was supposed to do with this gift that I got you know it took me a long time but like she was definitely like the person because at the time I was just kind of like you be on top of the world and then like this business and I remember one day was at a radio station Michael Bivens called us at the station he was like man don't let these charts and stuff dictate who you are like this business that you feel like you know he's on the time you ain't do the shit They did for real, man. He told your dad at the top.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Like, just like, get me with some shit at that time that, you know, just help me get back until, you know. I'll say, shout to my. Yeah, we know. All right. You know. Welcome to Pretty Private with Ebeney, the podcast where silence is broken and stories are set free.

Starting point is 01:13:03 in the ad council. I'm gonna tell you all. I want to say something. Let's wrap it up. I always wanted to go over Mary J. Blige House. That ain't got shit to do with nothing. I just... I just wanted to go over there, man.
Starting point is 01:13:17 I don't know. Like, if she was hepping people over, I want to be people. Yo, one of my favorite... One of my favorite songs ever. No, real shit. Like, I just feel like the vibe in Mary Jake Blige House is different. Yo, one of my favorite songs is this whole song.
Starting point is 01:13:35 How the thong song came about? Yeah, nigger. I actually got that. I know, but I'm saying, like, how you just like, fuck it. You're going to all these motherfuckers in it. Niggins. When a girl's just one to me and she don't know if you broke the code. When a girl can wear a thong.
Starting point is 01:13:49 We saw her asses and titted everywhere. When a girl can wear a thong. Right. You were like, fuck it. It's nothing else to say. It's lost your mind. That thing is a glove with one finger on it. He said one finger.
Starting point is 01:14:27 That nigga was doing the Moombark insane. That nitty did the Moorg and bitchers. Oh, it's in this. Bro, that shit was hard. I watched that, that deal of a child. I feel you. I feel like you did it better than me. Well, that shit was hard, bro.
Starting point is 01:14:46 No, but you know what? Oh, man. That was way bad as I could do. One thing I always showed people. We all know a lot of niggas. We all know a lot of niggas that sold platinum records or whatever. I'm like, how many niggas know a nigger you grew up with from a teenager that got World Music Award? Come on, man.
Starting point is 01:15:06 The World Music Award? Like, hey, you got the best song of world. My nigger got a World Music Award. A World Music Award? Yeah. That ain't that the BETT award. What a hell do you get in? I didn't even know.
Starting point is 01:15:21 You don't get invited to the World Music Awards. But who was over there? You get something. Who else was in that, bitch? To the World Music Awards were so big, they don't even have that shit no more, because the Earth cat motherfucker had that handle it. Oh, shit. That's probably crazy.
Starting point is 01:15:42 You've heard of this shit. The only niggins and only say, niggins said the Earth can handle the nigger. You weren't invited with that. The only other niggins that I know the guy. That I know the guy worked in the war is Boy's the Man. Hold up. You did, you work with Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Hell yeah. Tell me that. Tell me that. What? Tell me that. Michael flew me out to meet him. Tell me that. That's some cold shit.
Starting point is 01:16:05 Wait a minute. You're not leaving this bitch without talking about the legend. The only reason why I wanted to beat. All right, everybody, calm down. This is the part of the show. We gotta get sick. We take out Michael Jackson shit. Michael Jackson shit real seriously.
Starting point is 01:16:21 Go ahead. Hold on. If you're going to let him tell him to my mistake, I got to let him tell him. He's going to tell him about that story. You don't let me tell him about that story. If you're going to tell you after this. I was there for that one too.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Yo, go ahead. So when I was like four years, when I was about four years old, I saw Michael do the moonwalk, right? And I was like, oh shit, that's what I want to do. And so that was the journey, right? So we were just doing our shit. And then one day, our nigger was like, hey, Michael want to meet you.
Starting point is 01:17:05 And I was like, what? We were flying back from Japan at the time. And he was like, Michael want to meet you. And I was like, all right, well, look, I'm not rocking. And that's my, and that's, me and my man can go. Because, you know, we ain't just going over. You know what I mean? Right.
Starting point is 01:17:25 So we went over. He was like, whatever, nigga, I'm Michael Jackson. So he flew us over. And then I was, uh... I was hanging out with his kids. And his kids was watching Bambi. That's how about right. And he...
Starting point is 01:17:42 Everything landed up, Jay. Who told you, what is? Hey. I was talking about with. Shut the fuck up. What are you going to fight? Hey, what are he going to fight you? I told him what he can fight me.
Starting point is 01:18:02 Whatever he wants, anyway. So you're watching band. What I was saying with this? I wasn't watching family. The kids are watching men. No, the kids watch him back. It was. So then Michael, so the whole time I'm on the way to the trailer where Michael is,
Starting point is 01:18:21 I'm practicing what I'm going to say to Michael, right? Because I'm like, I don't know what the fuck to say. You know what I mean? Right. So I get there and I'm thinking I'm like, hey, Mike. So I said, that's pretty much what I said. I was like, hey, Mike. Like, I think he emerged from the back.
Starting point is 01:18:41 So he didn't walk, he emerged. Kind of emerged, yeah. Oh, see? Nick did float in them, my brother. A little bit float. A little bit float. So, and, and, so I shook his hand. I said, hey, man, why did you fly me out to meet you?
Starting point is 01:18:58 Like, we all don't our best Michael Jackson impression. Right. He was like, I think you're going to go far in this industry. And you're very talented. That was the mic drop moment, and that's when I did. disappeared in 2001. What the fuck you? Because I was like, fuck this.
Starting point is 01:19:17 Like, the whole reason why I'm doing this just told me I'm the shit. So I was like, fuck it. I'm out. So my story is way more fanish. I hear that. No, he's the same. No, he's the whole.
Starting point is 01:19:30 And that's when you left the group? No, no. Stop that shit. So, I never. He didn't get incomplete. He wasn't. No, listen. I never left the group, though.
Starting point is 01:19:40 So, I'm going to get y'all in two-off story. Let me get out a two-part story. He got the better story, but I'm a little bit more detail. So I met Michael Jackson, right? Yeah. And I was working with Rodney Jerkins. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:19:55 My NR at Death Jam. Oh. Oh. And Rodney Jerkins was, he was humble and a million words enough beyond that he could work with my group. I was one of the first people that had Joe Button on the, R&B record. And we had halfway. So remember halfway? We went to, tail. We sitting in the studio and Rodley took one of the guys from the group over the deck, Michael Jackson's
Starting point is 01:20:23 in that. You okay, Scooby? You got a baby. I love. Scooby on that bitch. So come on, Scooby. Come on, Scooby. So we're sitting in the Romney, you got a guy. And I'm just sitting there, my normal cell. I'm high, like I'm smoking weed and shit, and all of a sudden these motherfuckers peek in the window, and next thing you know, I'm like, turn this way, and I turn around, and Michael Jackson standing right there. Right. And I'm like, holy shit, it's Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 01:20:55 Hold up, how did you know it was Michael Jackson? Because he had on a shirt that Michael Jackson or had on, and I'm watching other shit. Yo, when I'm saying right now, yeah, I'll say when we get off the, Yo, when I panned Michael up, he was strong. Right, man, I'm gonna get to that, I'm gonna get to that, how fuck. That nigga is strong.
Starting point is 01:21:17 He had a real nigga. So this guy, we're sitting there, we're sitting there and shit. Like, I turned around and he was like, hey, Nokia, like, he's gonna pull you up. And in my mind, I'm like, my Jackson, know my name and shit. And I shake this nigga hand, and I always tell this story, like, I made a lot of rappers in life, right?
Starting point is 01:21:38 whose hands, when you shake him, feel like they use palm hour. Michael Jackson, the hand when you shake it, it's like, you know, he's a real nigger. So, just the fact that he knew my name and he took my man over there, I... That was big of you do not say the person that had is soft. But I was going, yeah, we know the person. We know that. We know that. That's another interview.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Right. So, like, it was like, what happened was I blacked out. Did you hear me? You know, I blacked out when he shook my hand. And like five minutes later, motherfuckers, I just came back, motherfuckers were shaking me because Michael Jackson scared me and he amaze me at the same time. Oh, did you see what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:22:21 You scared me. It was like, it was just like, same thing when I met Prince. First time I met Prince, Prince, he invited us to his concert was in Hollywood Bowl. We had, it was called it went to the key club, whatever, but it used to be Billboard live on Sunset. So I go to the second full-on-walk, up the steps and shit. And the prints at the top of the steps with a lollipop.
Starting point is 01:22:50 And I'm looking at this nigga, and he's looking at me. And this lady was like, you're going to say hello or something? And I was like... That's not true. I just went back to the steps. Then the second time I met him, I was wearing the electric ladies. Electric Lady's studio. And the nigger walked in the studio with my child
Starting point is 01:23:11 when he was married to her. And this nigga, I opened up the door for him and he said my name. He was like, what's up, Nokia? That's Prince. Wait, what? I'm in Jimmy Andrews studio. And Preston just walked in
Starting point is 01:23:27 on this nigga door. Like, I'm on Fifth Avenue as Bellman. And he knows my name and his wife know me. He can't tell me that. between me and him like that and davanti nigger my head is you can't tell me shit jazz what was your michael jackson's stupid back i met mike i was in the studio um when dran vadell recorded uh butterflies oh that shit cold yeah so that that was really got to be with uh be around mike i met his father fall was funny as a motherfucker too joke
Starting point is 01:24:00 for real that niggas real hey look it's crazy because i'm sitting there we all talking shit and he like, ah, Jazz, you try and case me. You can't case me. Why don't you talk about bombs? I'm just saying right at each other, right? But that was, that was experience, man. Mike Jackson said that to you? No, this was Joe Jackson.
Starting point is 01:24:16 I met my show. Joe's a real motherfucker. Yeah. What, glad? No, but Joe's a real motherfucker. You feel what I mean? And then, Prince, I was, I was performing somewhere, and Prince was in the audience
Starting point is 01:24:27 and this nigga howl out with the crowd. I hear you, jazz. I said, what the fuck? That's right. Yeah. You know what? When I was in the same room with Prince, And I was it, hey!
Starting point is 01:24:39 I hear you, Jazz. I hear you, jazz. And I was like, what the fuck, Chris is talking about in the middle of the second here? Yeah. Yeah, when I was in the same room with Prince, his backup signal was like, hey Sisko. And he was like, don't talk to her name. Hey, hold on, what are you saying to tell you?
Starting point is 01:25:03 Hey, how did you get in the group? Get in the group. All right, show. You know. It's going to tell me. Let me say this first. I don't know. I got to say it.
Starting point is 01:25:11 I got to say it. I was talking about. I was talking to me. Hey, let me say this first. Let me say this first. That's why. He came out of nowhere. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:25:24 I got to say it. I got to say it. I was talking about. I was working with some shit on the piano. That happened in my way. He came out of nowhere. and just hit this run. I stopped, and I heard him ask.
Starting point is 01:25:37 Sisko, I said by this nigga. You know what I give you a little bit? You know what I give you? Okay, yeah, yeah, hey. I let me tell you, go, go, go it. Go ahead, go ahead. Hey! Hey, you know what?
Starting point is 01:25:52 I want to hear tale story. Hey, you know what? I want to hear tale story. Oh, shit. Shit. Shit. This man, this is over the whole. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:07 Because he not going to tell you the whole shit. He's going here. He's not going to tell you the whole shit. Yeah. My question. Go ahead. Oh my God. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:26:36 Because you got to understand. You got... Hey, hey, hey. Man, don't you. Get up to him. Hey! What I'm saying is, I want him to understand. I want him to explain
Starting point is 01:26:49 his questions in the group so people don't just think that he came with him. Okay. And so what I'm saying is, I want to make sure he's got to story because story before the the normal story. So take out.
Starting point is 01:27:04 So the type of story from the beginning. That, jeez, all the shit. You know, jazz and everything. You don't have to watch it. All right. All right. No, no. Come on.
Starting point is 01:27:17 Come on. So, um, I came in, like, uh, two thousand ways. What just happened? Pretty much, I knew jazz before I met everybody else. And, um, I was in the group in Maryland, whatever. So pretty much Jazz asked me to be on his outfit, whatever, whatever. Boom, so I met everybody else.
Starting point is 01:27:37 We asked me to sing over Sisko's house. What is this damn, man? Shit, yeah, bro. Yeah, bro. Yeah, bro. Yeah, bro. So now, anyway, so we used to all sing around, you know, Sisko's aisle in his kitchen, whatever. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:27:52 You know what I'm telling the white shit? Because I'm trying to- No. Jazz had, this is why I'm, Jack, you know me, I'm not trying to fuck nobody's shit up. I'm saying, I'm saying, jazz, no, because he's not telling the part where jazz had Teo years before he got in the group. When jazz had his solo did. And jazz brought him to the shit years before he got in the group to be around us. I don't know if he has it first.
Starting point is 01:28:23 So what happened? What Timber is saying? I'm like this man to tell him his own story. Because like I said, what happened? I met jazz on the road, right? I was in a group called Smooth. I gave him a copy of the CD. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:45 Jazz called me like a half an hour later. I got down the road, heard the message. That's when he called me. He was like, look, I want you be on my album. He was recording this solo album. Like I said, so anyway, from then, yeah, yeah, it's sure again after the show. Anyway, so like I said, after me and jazz
Starting point is 01:29:06 went on the road for a little bit, I met Nokia, Cisco, I met, no, I met Woody first, you know what I'm saying? So I got to do an interlude with Woody because his mom or somebody just passed, so we did like a nice little interlude for his album. And from there, a couple years go by, I think Cisco was knowing God country or something.
Starting point is 01:29:28 What, me on that? So anyway, I had known about that. So I called him up. That's on fire. Oh, Lord. So now I called him up to just, like, congratulate him. And he was like, yo, we was just talking about you. And I was like, yo, that's what's up.
Starting point is 01:29:41 You know, I ain't want to ask, you know what I mean? But so anyway, after, you know, he said that or whatever, I get a call the next day. And they're like, yo, come up to the crib. We want to holl at you, whatever, whatever. So they sat me down. He was like, look, we want to put you in a group, but we know a whole lot of other people in Baltimore. So we want to do a contest, you know what I'm saying, for you to get in and, you know, made a best man way.
Starting point is 01:30:04 Right. We did that contest. Yeah. You body this one's right. Fuck y'all, nigga. I'm trying to make sure this nigga told me you told me you didn't. You buy it to this. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:30:14 Like, real, like, you really, like, I'm not for real, because, like, I mean, look, I'm going to fuck anybody off. But I'm going to, like, a lot, like, like, this, nigga. been here for a long time you know what I'm saying a lot of people don't understand the whole story so fuck trying to take over what I'm trying to make sure niggins know that this man been here and all the shit he's wet there's here for real so motherfuckers understand they're like we fair but we want to make sure some single motherfuckers been here around since the beginning I tried to sign this nigga to death him when I was motherfuckers doing N-all but that's the that's the shit I want
Starting point is 01:30:51 motherfuckers to understand this nigga ain't just come out of nowhere and he fought his way into the group nobody nobody just he got him too real that's that's that's that's what we don't know what we're we got to let's give you the nigga we already fucking wanted you in group what are you talking about since the beginning no no no no well they were like it's a all of work with you right I ain't do shit to be in there, remember that. Me, I ain't do shit. Hey, you know what? Hold on, y'all, hold on.
Starting point is 01:31:29 I got to say it. That's all you had to do is sing. Hey, you know what? The best way to end this whole podcast. What? The best way to end this whole podcast is the singer's song. You want to hear? You go.
Starting point is 01:31:51 Yeah. I love you see. Oh, love it. Oh, look. Come on. Yeah. Come on. And beauty is birthday.
Starting point is 01:32:01 I hope that I can make you my. Love the first is your heart. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that was it. Thank you, gentlemen.
Starting point is 01:32:20 No, no, no, no, you can't leave what I tell him the Mike Tyson story. Now, I didn't see this guy who was following him around apart and he said, Thong song kept on, like, oh, you can fucking wait with me. First of all, first of all, I ain't never heard you talk about this shit. First of all, I'm the motherfucking dragon. I don't follow nobody. What I'm saying is that this is what happened. All right, Ben.
Starting point is 01:32:48 Me and Michael Jackson was at, I mean, me and Mike Tyson was at a party at his house. Okay. The party was, so you was at his party? That was. We was at a party to get a party to get that. Jamie Fox is there. Jamie Fox is at his fucking party. All right.
Starting point is 01:33:17 His recollection of the party is completely different than what actually happened. What happened? What happened was his artist was singing and she sounded different. Say it, say it. I just said it. She was terrible. I didn't know that. And you were Mike Tyson ass.
Starting point is 01:33:40 And first of all, me and Mike Tyson, I would be little mad and he would be Mike Tyson. What should you do if you see here? Stop, stop instigating the shit, because you're known for that. Stop. I'm kidding, man. Listen, I don't want to fight Mike Tyson. This shit already happened. But what I'm saying is this.
Starting point is 01:34:01 Okay. We were at his house, and we did not want... His artist was singing the way she was singing. Okay, it was different. It was different. All right. And I was like, guess what? I got a little bathroom.
Starting point is 01:34:20 And then Jamie Fox looked at me like, fuck it. Because he was so happy that I found a way out. It was rough. Uh-huh. Tell us the end of this story. You had to leave with Jay-Z. You're about her to talk about it under your breath over here.
Starting point is 01:34:40 Jay-Z? No, you don't have got no problem, me. Why are you instigating? Why are you that exigation? You instigate, Jack. I always do some Jack shit. Don't talk to Jack, man. Don't answer no more his question, man.
Starting point is 01:34:54 All I want to know is, why on Elevitiate did he post a picture? That mean, did, never mind. Don't worry about it. See? You're on time. Say it. Uh-huh. That's a stupid.
Starting point is 01:35:06 Any way. The other dude. I don't know what I don't know. Okay. I don't want to know what's everybody's favorite song. Like, you know for a fact when this song play on stage, you're like, I'm from the side, fuck, I know what we practice.
Starting point is 01:35:19 I know what we practiced. I know what we practiced. The fuck that. Oh, I'm gonna say. We're gonna practice. Yo, honestly, honestly, it's beauty. And beauty is the one song that I did not want to sing. You don't never want to sing shit.
Starting point is 01:35:36 You don't never want to sing shit, man. Every song, if a nigger play a song in the studio on this niggas ain't on my studio, That's about the big end. The first thing you're going to get on it. Right. So what's your favorite? I'm gonna say like, well, I'm gonna say like that.
Starting point is 01:35:56 Tell me your mind, because right at the time. Once they hear that music, you know, me come in and we start doing the dance or whatever, you see the whole crowd, like, just jumping up and down. So that's, that's one of my. I mean, I was, I was tough. We got, you on all, without making love. When I'm making love. What's your favorite part of that?
Starting point is 01:36:18 The whole motherfucking jump. Like everything about it, you know, from the beginning. And I guess who was that Daryl's son in the baby face or whatever? That's great. Yeah, man, shout off to them. That's, I had to pick. That's, that's... What about you, O.G?
Starting point is 01:36:34 Come to him last. Go ahead. I would say beauty just because it didn't come out as a single, but it gets... It's get as a bigger applause. It sounds like nothing else. That one didn't come out as a singer, right? No.
Starting point is 01:36:49 What? What? That's the album. That is crazy. It didn't get crazy. I know that. I'm saying. That was never a single.
Starting point is 01:36:58 I was a song of the gift for beauty. Right. And that's the only single that we ever had as far as people. And the video. No video. No record company. No, there's no. No, never know for them.
Starting point is 01:37:17 That was all the people. And that's why, like I asked. That's what music supposed to do touch you. People heard that record and touched you. They made it, they made it the single. Smoking Blackass on a song by Alicia Keys. Oh shit. What's that song, smoke?
Starting point is 01:37:32 What? What? It was a, it was a track that. We had the first. Play had the Kanye track first. It was for our second and last. It was for our second album. It was for our second album.
Starting point is 01:37:47 And, you know, we wanted, we was making money writing. So, you know, we get into business. And, you know, when you start having families and shit, it ain't always about what you want to do. It's always about what you got to do, so, you know what I'm saying. So I bet, how is that adjustment when you're writing, but you're knowing you're an artist and you want to be out there on stage? Mailbox.
Starting point is 01:38:06 Mailbox. Right. You hear me? Mailbox money. So it wasn't, you know what I'm saying every day, any day. every day, any day, you feel me? But I'm always doing what it takes to secure the bag, so
Starting point is 01:38:17 that's what happened. So, coming back to being able to, you know, getting it to come back and do it. What Drew Hill has been a blessing, because we get to see the other side of it, you know what I'm saying? You know, we've been, we've been sampled by Drake, Chris Brown, you know what I'm saying, a lot of the pop smoke, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:38:36 So, music won't always I'm using, you know what I'm saying, around, so, but to be able to do what you actually came in the game to do, sing, perform. It's a blessing, man. It's honor. I appreciate.
Starting point is 01:38:47 Love these guys for, you know what I'm saying? Bruce now. How about you, Odie? You're all right, school? Yeah. Scooby, you're good? We're not making love. We're not making love?
Starting point is 01:38:57 We're not making love? Bark. You're not going to do. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's your favorite part. Yeah, it's the time. It's praise and worship right now. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 01:39:09 Okay. What about you, OD, Jay? He's over that gambling, this shit. God damn it, motherfuckold of the goddamn kid, fuck. Yeah, I love these dink, man. I love these. What's your baby song to son? Like, like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 01:39:25 Stay wide. Stay wide. Like, you know, like, this is the one out of the heart. You know, you be gentle, boys, it's time to find you, you, you, you, him. Yeah. Well, over the years, it kind of, like, moved around. Like, because I know we should be in my bed, And I call Cisco Goldie, right?
Starting point is 01:39:45 Goody be fucking serious, this motherfucker. Me and this nigga over here be fucking clowning the whole time. So you know what I mean? And then it went from just us going on the stage, just clowning and having fun to paying attention to the crowd's response. So the crowd's biggest response is promise,
Starting point is 01:40:05 um, beauty, um, we're not making love when we do that joint. Uh, Tell me. Yeah, no. Of course, tell me. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:40:15 And the remix, come on, man. You know. But, and then we all have fun when this nigga do the thong song now, because I know it's a difference when he go do the shit versus when he's doing the shit with Drew Hill. So, you know, so I probably named like five songs now, isn't it? Right. That's all the thing. We had like fucking five songs on the radio all the damn time.
Starting point is 01:40:36 Exactly. And that was different from anybody else, you know what I mean? I can say that, you know, that we went out with, man, you know, and I'm just looking at the whole career, yo, it was like, when we sat around, like, we sitting here now, this is us in the hood, we have people's this shit, motherfuckers, doing whatever, you're looking at your idols,
Starting point is 01:40:53 and you know what I mean, you want to get there, yo, and then we fuck around and do that shit for real? Right, yeah. That's the whole thing, y'all go. Hey, DC, you said some dope-ass shit, you didn't know it, just for this, by the gambler, who Hill gamble, they got a dope-ass, Will Smith story.
Starting point is 01:41:09 Tell that story, no. Which one? You saw him, he was like, oh, now you want to fuck with it. We weren't... We weren't the project to collaborate. Can I talk about a song, first? Let me talk about it. Songs is hard because we got a lot of them, right?
Starting point is 01:41:31 So it's like, I'm going to always say beauty because I feel like that was the song I back. That was the song I bet my career on. I feel like that was this song I bet every piece of capital I had on and getting niggas in the studio. It was like if y'all just sing this song, you'll get what the fuck I'm doing. But it took me singing the whole song. He sang that whole fucking song. He didn't want to sing it.
Starting point is 01:42:01 When you say it, you know, you just break it now. It didn't sound nothing like jokes. I know. No, I didn't. Because they didn't tell enough like you're gonna say to me. This is what people got to understand, like on beauty, like for real, other than the one though, I got... Cisco the same on the hook. It's literally just jazz and Cisco singing the lead.
Starting point is 01:42:26 All the backgrounds on that song, that's me by himself. So when we're looking at the Drew here and now there, it's Jazz and Cisco doing the lead. And everything, yeah, it's you. On that song, yeah. On that song, yeah. On that song, on our best song, on Drew's best song, it's all Nokia sing in the background.
Starting point is 01:42:50 You want to touch greatness, bro. And he wrote this song. God damn. That's my favorite Drew's song. Because, you know what? Like, one, I can only write what I feel. field. Right. And like, I don't want to give it to nobody ever than my people. You're a man. So y'all about to go out, go get some tour days and shit like that?
Starting point is 01:43:19 No, no. No, no. So tomorrow, tomorrow we go into rehearsal and then we're going to get a Black Excellence Award. No, Ak Urban Icon Music Award. Okay. But see, like, you got to understand, man, like, the thing that I feel like got us to the point where we are is that you gotta understand what you do. Like, I could sing, like, for people that know us from Baltimore, like, when we first started, for real, me and Cisco were singing all right.
Starting point is 01:43:57 And the more people that I met that can sing, I'm like, fuck that singing shit, I'm gonna write these songs and shit. And like, I'm gonna fall in a lot of groups. Live groups don't last because you don't know how to pass the ball. You got to learn how to be a great number two before you get to be a great number one. How many? Everybody want to be number one first and that's when shit get on whatever.
Starting point is 01:44:21 Pass the fucking ball. Don't get a chance to figure out what you do. You know what I'm saying? You know what I mean? You know what I mean? I didn't tell the ball going to house. What are you talking about? He took the ball more now.
Starting point is 01:44:34 I don't want to tell you. I don't think like to tell him more on the boy now. You thought I did it. I got one thing to say. I got one thing to go. I got one thing to tell. What? That ain't it.
Starting point is 01:44:51 You passed the ball, man. I will pass the ball. He'll pass the ball when the motherfucker don't bounce on more. Damn. Damn. We're going to start charging you off of this therapy. I feel like y'all ain't talked in years. No, we talk.
Starting point is 01:45:08 It's just, I talk real loud and I'll be cussing and shit. And then I want to talk. And then it turned into like, is this nigger acting crazy? Is this nigga having a breakdown? I'm not crazy. But, you know what I'm just like, like, literally fought on the way.
Starting point is 01:45:25 Man, that's, yeah, when it comes down to her for real, like, right. So, if I take this. What do you mean? It ain't real. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:45:36 He didn't even. A little fight, man. Yeah. But at the end of the day, if I got to deal with it as, um, if I got to deal with the CEO of the company, the guy have discourse. Oh, he's so fucking funny. Right.
Starting point is 01:45:54 Because without discourse, you don't realize how niggas really feel. So my whole thing from the beginning is, I'm going to make you mad to do what you got to do. to do what you got to do, and then you're gonna look at me and be like, fuck you, and I'm gonna say thank you. That's a terrible strategy, bro. Just to bring, just to bring in a breakdown out of you. You know what they said here.
Starting point is 01:46:12 You got to get there like black, right? No, because you don't understand something. Like, if you read books of CEOs of companies. No, I ain't say that. But what I'm saying is, if you deal with the, take the emotions out of shit, right? Motion niggas fuck up because they be in their emotion. I'm not emotional.
Starting point is 01:46:31 I'm gonna pull you into, I'm gonna say, nigga, can you sing your song? Yeah, let's do that. How you want me to write it for you. You want me to write it for you, whatever. And even if you're gonna do that, or you're gonna get mad, but at the end of the day, if you get mad and go in that, perfect example.
Starting point is 01:46:45 We're doing it all along, first half. I'm saying, I'm talking shit to this nigga. And eventually, I'm like, you want me rewrite the song? Can you do it? Like, you want me rewrite. And eventually I said some shit that made this nigga say, all alone, and hit that note. He thought I was mad.
Starting point is 01:47:01 I'm going mad at him. I just need the nigger to get to the point to sing the shit. So he come out of the booth looking at me like, nigger fucking. I'm like, thank you. No. Right, right. You know what? You ain't shit. You're a shit.
Starting point is 01:47:16 Y'all are gulfed, man. I'm gonna fuck. Hey, man. We appreciate y'all bringing the entire group. We appreciate y'all bringing the entire group. That's all right. We fought with you too, my man. Nick!
Starting point is 01:47:31 We do. We do. Thank you. Hold on. Woody. World actor. Wendy, whenever you want to come back. Oh, 25-man version.
Starting point is 01:47:39 Too, I'm coming to a city. Terrible. Yeah. That's right. Hey, Woody. Tell him whenever, whenever you want to come back, we can do it right here. No cap. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:47:51 Woody, you can come today to fast stuff. Tell your side of the story. You can come back by yourself first and then come back if I don't want to do it. Oh, man. Let's go. That's go. No, real shit. Real shit. I told me she's going to same shit. Don't wear about my motherfuck shirt.
Starting point is 01:48:07 But the crime part about it is every time I look, y'all, I'm posting shit because I followed the Drew Hill page. My man. Am I fan? I followed the Drew Hill page. All right. No, man, damn. You're fans of y'all. No, I'm saying, like, in business, I follow like.
Starting point is 01:48:22 The drill picture. So I want to see all y'all on the page. Man, I'm like, God, that's going to do the flowers. Yeah. But every time I go look at her, I'm either big. So I don't look up probably like 10 dates for real Just like I'm gonna pop up on y' niggins ass and look at the show but I'm like fuck I can't keep I can't get one But I'm definitely no I'm gonna do one. I'm gonna do one. I'm gonna do one that's gonna be hollied
Starting point is 01:48:45 What's what I'm gonna do ya? What's up? Let's go Let's go Let's go That's go I take my shirt off Hold on you go I take my shirt off
Starting point is 01:48:55 Come on this man I'm gonna take the shirt off I'm like I'm gonna take the shirt off Yeah, can I take my shit on? Damn, that's a bullshit. You can take my shit off. You're gonna take my turn off. You can't tell me, you can't tell me I can't take my shit off.
Starting point is 01:49:10 Like, no real, like, doing a lot of shit. We've been through, like, you know, aside from what we went through from when we were younger, like, Jack, is Jack Thriller. Oh, brother. Let's give it up for Jack Triller. You're gonna lay you down. No. Oh, that's a lot of work.
Starting point is 01:49:30 When I laid you down, you're looking your body's thick, that you're getting to be all night. Come on, man. You're working, nice. I'm a little of the floor, but that's another
Starting point is 01:49:52 guarantee to make you go crazy. Tell me up, girl, girl please tell me what you want. Yeah. Oh shit. I love, y'all, wait a minute, man. It's my boy Jack Thriller birthday. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:20 Today? Today? Today? Today? Today? Today? Yeah. Yeah, I'm gonna die.
Starting point is 01:50:28 Yeah, I didn't see it. I want to drop him up for me, though. Why you creep up on the bad side? I don't want to drop it on me though. Anybody drop it on me, man? 85 Celsius. True Hill. Checked to.
Starting point is 01:50:46 Yeah. Yeah. Hold on, hold up. Y'all got to say my first. I don't want to drop it on me. What? We just said. I know y'all did.
Starting point is 01:50:57 I want to hear it. Beauty is her name. I hope that I can make you mind. For another man stills your heart. My heartless beauty in mind. I'm saying, yeah. You are so beautiful. When I'm down and down.

Starting point is 01:51:47 inside of me Happy birthday I didn't want to hear that shit nigger it wasn't for you That was my song Let's get a shit I apologize We got to get the

Starting point is 01:52:17 It's all my life It's in an eye This is This thing is No, man. I should say it was an eye. This was a movie. He was an eye, man.
Starting point is 01:52:27 Inceptive. All right. And three, two, one. Hey, man, this was an honor, man. No cap, man. Real shit. Y'all niggins are, legends, goats.
Starting point is 01:52:38 One more. Three, two, one. Don't let nobody tell y'all that. Thank you. That's why I appreciate that, dog. That's the hand of them. Right.
