The a16z Show - Introducing Journal Club

Episode Date: April 26, 2020

Announcing a16z Journal Club, a new show where we curate and discuss recent research papers with a16z experts and others. This new show continues the a16z Podcast mission of not just bringing you con...versations about the future (as well as about building companies for this), but of also putting specific trends in context -- whether through news (as with our other show 16 Minutes), or, through journal articles (as with this new show -- which will soon have its own feed as well). The first episode, of bio journal club, focuses on why specific scientific advances matter from our perspective at the intersection of biology & technology. It is hosted by one of our a16z bio editors, Lauren Richardson, a former senior editor of open-access journal PLOS Biology with a background in cell and molecular biology and genetics (and with a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and a postdoctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley). You will hear it next in this feed, and can also find new episodes here as they come out every few weeks and at a16z.com/journalclub. ~sonal Stay Updated:Find a16z on YouTube: YouTubeFind a16z on XFind a16z on LinkedInListen to the a16z Show on SpotifyListen to the a16z Show on Apple PodcastsFollow our host: https://twitter.com/eriktorenberg Please note that the content here is for informational purposes only; should NOT be taken as legal, business, tax, or investment advice or be used to evaluate any investment or security; and is not directed at any investors or potential investors in any a16z fund. a16z and its affiliates may maintain investments in the companies discussed. Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi everyone. Welcome to the A6 and Z podcast. I'm Sonal, editor-in-chief at Andresen Horwitz, and I'm excited to announce our next new show here, A6&Z Journal Club, a podcast where we curate and discuss recent research papers with A6&Z experts and others. This new show continues our mission of not just bringing you conversations about the future, as well as about building companies for it, but of also putting specific trends in context, whether through news, as with our other show, 16 minutes or through journal articles, as with this new show, which will soon have its own feed as well. The first episode of Biojournal Club focuses on why specific scientific advances matter from our perspective at the intersection of biology and technology. It is hosted by A6C Bio-editor Lauren Richardson, a former senior editor of PLOS Biology and PhD with a background in cell and molecular biology and genetics. You will hear it next in this feed and can also find new episodes here as they come out every few weeks and at A6NZ.com slash journal club.
