The Adam and Dr. Drew Show - #1765 Conspiracy Theories & Facts

Episode Date: September 8, 2023

Adam and Dr. Drew confer over the recent fires in Maui, and they both mention how humans become paranoid when the news and government restrict access to information. What is first a possible conspirac...y theory, can very likely become fact, and it can be difficult to discern the difference. As an example, they mention how the FDA refuses to release data on certain medical information. They go on to observe how hysterics are so pervasive today, and Dr. Drew attempts to assess when the last time in history society was like this, querying maybe 16th century witch trials. Starting point is 00:01:18 that's just me. Perez Hilton. Drinking all the tea that goes on in this world. And with the way social media is, I just can't get enough. I'm obsessed. It's like every day something new and scandalous comes out and I want it all. I'm the OG of entertainment gossip. And if you are like me and have an unrelenting thirst for all the drama that's flying around,
Starting point is 00:01:44 you should listen to my podcast, The Perez Hilton Podcast, available wherever you get your podcasts. Recorded live at Corolla One Studios with Adam Corolla and board-certified physician and addiction medicine specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky. You're listening to The Adam and Dr. Drew Show. Yeah, get it on, got to get on, get it on, Dr. Drew, fertilizer, addiction medicine, scott's got to fertilize it now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:21 What's going on, man? Hickaboo. Hickaboo. Help me with this uh i get a lot of feedback about platforming how dare you platform those people how can you do that how do you talk this is this kind of shit yeah yeah and uh what was it i just heard a story where I thought, well, there it is. There's a perfect example why we have to platform everybody. The idea in my head is there's a lot of weird conspiracy theories and stuff flying around. Even the Maui – look at the Maui fires as an example, right?
Starting point is 00:03:00 So as soon as the government goes, we can't really tell you what's happened here. It's happened here. It's not good. People go – immediately they go into all kinds of weird conspiracy theories in their head. You have to always tell people everything because humans naturally get paranoid when you restrict access to information. They immediately want to apply a motivation to it. Why are you doing that? Why are you restricting it?
Starting point is 00:03:25 I can't handle it. What do you mean I can't handle it? And the motivation to it. Why are you doing that? Why are you restricting it? I can't handle it. What do you mean I can't handle it? And the motivation goes quick. And if you're paranoid prone, you get very paranoid. All right. First thoughts. So this is working in a psych hostel for many years. I've seen this over and over and over again. I get it.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Yeah. I get it. But there's a hole, a flaw in your logic. Oh, good. First off, just as a side, the mayor of Maui, that guy seems a little thick. He's just up there like,
Starting point is 00:03:55 oh, we don't know how many kids died. You don't know how many kids died? We don't know. You can't tell us or you won't tell us how many kids died. Hey, if you want this to go this way, then that's it. See, somebody ruins it with questions. if you want this to go this way then that's it see somebody ruins it with questions so now we have to go home okay and then poor poor the poor hawaiians
Starting point is 00:04:13 now you got maizey horono yeah like you you can say what you want about adam schiff he's not dumb he's not dumb maizey horono is dumb i mean really dumb so you're being represented by that that's gonna be trouble yeah um god i'd love to hear her talk um so the problem the flaw in my reasoning yes and your reasoning is you are not factoring in the nefarious part of the concept, which is I hear people go, look, if you're Joe Biden, you just give him all the records. Let him look in the bank accounts. Just show him.
Starting point is 00:04:54 Just show him. Have fun. Come see everything. Yeah, that's what you do if you didn't do anything. That's what you do if you didn't embezzle money from rogue nations. But you wouldn't do it if you did do it so we all sit around and go why don't they just just put this argument to an end and it's like yeah that works if you didn't do it well let's let's look at for instance vaccines
Starting point is 00:05:19 right so the fda has all this data on vaccines that they refuse to release and people immediately go oh something must be something wrong there. And your logic is, well, yes, there must be something wrong there, or they would release it, which is an unfortunate outgrowth of that shadiness, of that obscuring. Yes, they're doing something nefarious. That's why they're not transparent. Everybody must get it out there. I'm telling you, man, I worked with paranoid patients for so many years. And as soon as you go, as soon as you even neglect something they ask, like you didn't hear it or something, they go right into mode.
Starting point is 00:05:54 They go very paranoid. The January 6th Commission destroyed a bunch of documents. Yeah. Why? Well, here we go. Because they're lying go that's that's why we don't get to see the why then can't i manifest that we don't get to see it why why just be transparent just be yeah you be transparent if you didn't do anything wrong why does youtube then de-platform me if i speak to
Starting point is 00:06:19 rfk jr they are part of the sort of movement. They've picked, they made a big, we're going to look back on this chapter and we're going to say, you guys, many people made a mistake for picking a side. Yes. You should have, there should have been no side to COVID other than what COVID does. Right. You pick the side. And now we have hundreds of hours of footage of you idiots talking about horse paste. Like, you know what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:06:55 And now you look at you look foolish. Oh, by the way, there was a recent recent court case where the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. I think I told you this. Washington said, yeah, doctors can prescribe whatever they want off-label. It's up to them. The FDA does not factor into the practice of medicine. They picked a side. You picked a side on COVID.
Starting point is 00:07:16 You picked a side on ivermectin. You picked a side on Hunter Biden's laptop. You picked a side on January 6th. You picked a side with kyle rittenhouse yeah he was a antifa guy who was or a proud boy who showed up to go turn it ashkash into the killing fields you know i mean you were stupid you picked a side with the young guy from the christian academy who stood in front of this crazy Indian guy. You pick the side. When you pick a side that fast, you're bound to be wrong a lot. So here's how the pick a side works.
Starting point is 00:07:54 You know what I mean? Oh, Rams running back is accused of a violent assault inside an elevator at a Vegas casino. And I go, oh, I'm a Rams fan. He never did that. He didn't do that. Come on. He wouldn't do that. And then two weeks later,
Starting point is 00:08:13 oh, we now have surveillance footage from inside of the elevator where he balls up his fist and punches his face. I shouldn't have picked a side. Of course I'm going to be wrong. Why wouldn't you be wrong? Oh, the virus didn't come from a lab. It came from a wet market.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Well, of course you're going to be wrong. Why wouldn't you be wrong? You'd be wrong a lot. And by the way, there would have been no problem with them saying, you know, there's some good evidence of wet market. We'll have to wait and see. That's different than condemning anybody that takes a different opinion. That's the weird part about it this whole time.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Of course. There's got to be something. This weird, but the platforming part, that's getting back to that. Yeah. I don't, first things first. You interviewing somebody is not an endorsement of what they say. No. It's you asking questions and them providing answers. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:10 And me then sitting and thinking about it. And sometimes I learn something and sometimes I disagree completely. Right. You guys decide for yourself what you think. folks that don't want the platforming, quote unquote, or people deplatformed or something, is they have a cartoon-like understanding of the person that they're trying to get deplatformed. They have a cartoon. I mean, cartoon. And we can go all over the spectrum you know you could have tucker carlson you could have megan kelly you could have gad sad you could have joe rogan you could have anybody yeah and when you hear them it's like oh hates hate spewing a conspiracy just throwing red meat to their constituency it's like that's not who those people are. No. They're super thoughtful.
Starting point is 00:10:06 Yeah. And they're smart. And they have nuanced opinions. Yep. And you may not agree with all of what they have to say, but Megyn Kelly's no dummy. And neither is Gad Saad. Or neither are any of those people I mentioned. No.
Starting point is 00:10:19 Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro. And they wouldn't be where they were if they were unintelligent, who was just spewing out hate and pablum to their constituency once the red meat. So it's really shame on the people for buying the cartoon caricature version of this person and not doing any kind of nuanced look at who these people are right and where their opinions come from right or even just the fact that oh the you know the guy went to harvard and then he was at stanford and he's a leading epidemiologist at stanford has been there for 31 years like okay maybe that's something maybe Maybe he has an idea. Jay Bhattacharya is the poster child for this.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Yes. He is the image you should think of when you consider what they did to him and what they're doing to other people. Or just look at the guy. Yeah. Just talk to him for two seconds. And then what's he do? He works for who? Stanford.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Yeah. So how does he get paid if he talks about – He's a grifter. You understand? He's a grifter. He's a carpetbagger. Yeah, I know. Let's –
Starting point is 00:11:32 A shill. A shill. Right. So I would, let's say – I would disagree with, like, let's say, a lot of Obama policies and maybe a lot of Anderson Cooper thoughts and maybe Jake Tapper or something. But I wouldn't go he's a dangerous individual who's spewing hate and getting people killed. I just kind of go, I think he's wrong about these things.
Starting point is 00:12:02 Right. And obviously he has a certain angle and he has to kind of stick with the narrative and so on and so forth. And that's always the most surprising part of the time we're living in. Like, as I've said before, but I'll tell you again. You know, when I was talking to Chris Cuomo, and we're having a decent chat, and he was like, look, I don't know if Tucker believes half of what he's saying. I don't know if Ben Shapiro.
Starting point is 00:12:30 I go, they absolutely believe it. You think they don't believe it. You don't even know what they're saying. Oh, they believe it. By the way, if they didn't believe it, they wouldn't be successful. But by the way, the people on the right say the same thing about the people on the left.
Starting point is 00:12:44 And they can't believe this. They can't believe this, Ken. Well, I'm sorry, but when Sanjay Gupta refers to ivermectin as horse paste, he doesn't believe it. He's lying at that point. Or he's doing some version of lying. When they're confirming that Hunter Biden's laptop doesn't exist, they don't believe it either. If you got them drunk and shot them up with sodium pentothal, they'd have to go, I don't know if it exists or not. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:13 They wouldn't say it. So they are lying. But I think that is a lie. I think they convinced Rochelle Walensky was lying. I think they convinced Fauci was lying. They were lying. Oh, Barbara Ferrer was lying. Gavin Newsom was lying. I thinkbara ferrara is a believer i don't think she's lying about anything i think it's impossible she may not be smart enough to lie but i you know she's lying i i
Starting point is 00:13:35 think they know they're lying honestly they wouldn't they wouldn't come how could you come up okay can i let me ask you this yeah i was showing you that jake tapper thing yeah i think remember 10 minutes ago when everyone was going insane because in florida they were teaching that slavery was a good thing right right and help slaves right you know and uh we got over that he's up there we got over pretty fast he's up there he's up there going i learn learn how to be a blacksmith? What do you mean? I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:14:08 You don't get it? That's the easiest intellectual process in the world. As I said, go to prison for five years, learn to be an electrician, get out, and be an electrician. You wouldn't go, I don't get it. Prison's a good thing? No. You went in. There's a bad thing? Like, no. You went in.
Starting point is 00:14:26 There's a bad thing. But you learned something while you're there. And then when you got out, you didn't work at McDonald's because you actually possessed a skill that you learned while you're in this incarcerated, essentially. Jake Tapper doesn't. He's 52. He probably went to an Ivy League school. Can't wrap his head around that concept? He's a line. What else do you want to call it?
Starting point is 00:14:50 Or it's just exquisitely dim. Dramatizing. They're being hysterics. This is the part that I never anticipated was hysterics. Amongst middle-aged men. Yeah, hysterical. Like completely hysterics. Amongst middle-aged men. Yeah, hysterical, like completely hysterics. And I don't know, I just keep thinking to myself, there's got to be a period of history where people have picked sides
Starting point is 00:15:14 so weirdly like this and been engaged in hysterics like this. Maybe it's Salem in the 16th, 17th century or something. But it has got to be examples of this out there because it's too pervasive now. It's just so, so much a part of our time. I've got to tell you, I don't know why it's funny, but I talked to Ami Horowitz the other day, and he was just venting. And he said, he goes, oh, God, do I hate pussies. God, I hate pussies.
Starting point is 00:15:49 And I said, I hate pussies. I've always hated pussies. It sort of vexed me. How do you get along with me? You always tell me I'm a pussy. No, you're grandfathered in. I'm sort of a pussy. I'm a pussy when it counts.
Starting point is 00:16:02 I hate a pussy. Yeah, I know what you mean. I hate a dude who's a pussy yeah but when we're drilling down on it he's like in the past i felt sorry for pussies oh that's true now they're aggressive yeah and they're getting in your face walking down the horse trail for not wearing a mask and i now really loathe pussies yes but i used to have a certain degree of pity for the pussy yeah like a poor fucking sack of shit over there's a puss well in fact we were we were educated into that right you know what i mean where they were like
Starting point is 00:16:36 feel sorry for that guy don't take don't bully him right that guy is now trying to set policy that locks you in your house in la or shuts the schools on that pussy is now got to set policy that locks you in your house in L.A. or shuts the schools down. That pussy has now got his hands on the levers of control, and now I sort of fear him now. I feel a sort of disdain mixed with empathy. Now I'm worried about the pussies. Yes. But Gavin Newsom is a pussy.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Yeah. I mean, he's a soci But Gavin Newsom is a pussy. Yeah. I mean, he's a sociopath, but he's a pussy. Yeah. And oh, it's where every policy is coming from. Sheesh.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Yeah. Scary, right? Well, because a lot of times the kids that were sort of meek like that, we're not talking about meek. We're talking about almost like aggressively passive, if that makes sense.
Starting point is 00:17:24 And that's why we would react to it. And those kids often had some abuse and stuff. And there's a lot of unregulated aggression underneath that. You know, I always, that's true. I always felt that the narcissism was right underneath the pussy. Yeah, it's an inverse narcissism, yeah. It's like your mom's narcissism. It's that kind. Right, right. It's not grandiose. It's not grandiose. It's the opposite. It's using
Starting point is 00:17:51 passivity in a grandiose way. All right. We need to take a quick break. Be right back after this. Starting point is 00:18:50 I got the book wrong. Then you went and found the book it was from, which is, man, it just goes to show how people can think. How the brains work. How your brain works. I swore it was in the first book but it's been told to me more than once that it isn't i just can't it can't be bumped yeah out of out of my noggin uh and that's the thing but i'm telling you for salon now obviously the city's better off with all the illegal selling flowers because at least they're generating something.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Right. The folks all living in the campers. Yeah. The Winnebago. Much worse. Yeah. But I'll see if. Well, that's why I used to react that way to the guys.
Starting point is 00:19:38 That's what Newsom did when you mentioned the guys selling flowers. It's like, what? They're out there working. That's good. There's a're enterprising. And that was my reaction to it. But what I would say to those assholes is I go, I'm going to add a kitchen on without pulling a permit, okay, Your Highness?
Starting point is 00:19:55 And then I'm going to go, hey, I'm going down to Home Depot. I'm spending money. I'm employing guys, plumbers, electricians. So get off my back. I'm creating something here. What do you mean? I'm working. You would still go, we're shutting you down. So get off my back. I'm creating something here. What do you mean? I'm working. You would still go,
Starting point is 00:20:07 we're shutting you down. We need a permit. Yeah. I don't dig either. Sorry. All right. So this is from Everything Reminds Me of Something.
Starting point is 00:20:15 California and Los Angeles specifically doesn't enforce these laws because it's poor brown people being paid by rich white people to use these devices. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind.
Starting point is 00:20:24 This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the wind. This is the blower now. Leaf blowers. Yeah. The only people making a living with a leaf blower are Hispanics. And that's the Democrats' constituency. And as I know, I've said before, they're empty bags.
Starting point is 00:20:35 There's no money to wring out of the poor Latino selling flowers on Forest Lawn Drive, but plenty to get from the guy driving the Lexus a little too fast on the same street. Which is worse for society? Soccer moms going seven miles over the speed limit or a vast underground, untaxed, unregulated economy of illegal immigrants who can't afford to see doctors spreading God knows what while they sell unlicensed knockoff Spider Dude and Iron Guy popsicles to kids from a van spewing toxic exhaust?
Starting point is 00:21:02 Hate speech. Thank you. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Don't get me started on the ice cream trucks. It's the scariest thing. They've really deteriorated. Not the ones in New York.
Starting point is 00:21:13 The ones in New York are glorious. Mr. Softy is still the king. The one here is like, oh, my God. They're not roadworthy. They're not streetworthy. Not streetworthy, yeah. No, they're not. God knows what they're not street worthy not straight yeah it's not they're not god knows what they're
Starting point is 00:21:25 selling i i know so i i've that's another good model for where we're headed consider the helms truck yeah the bakery truck used to show up in front of your school as opposed to now ice cream truck in los angeles oh man i mean you take pictures of some of those trucks uh it isn't it's it's comical and sad at the same time and i've done it um yes so we cannot have two economies we can't really have two citizens we can't have two laws you know i mean they're just we have three or four in this town right well i'm saying two yeah because i'm basically saying uh i i'd like to put the deck on the side of my house i got to pull a permit you want to build a plywood shantytown you know in west la under a freeway overpass you do whatever you want or i want to open a business I'm going to pull a bunch of permits and and the
Starting point is 00:22:25 thing so the thing about LA and as I always always say it there's always going to be a chasm between the empty bags and the citizens who have to kind of pay the taxes and keep up with all the duties of life. And that exists everywhere. But you take a place like Texas, let's say, or those parts of Florida or something like that, and you would say, well, yeah, there's homeless and there's guys sleeping out in the street and all that kind of stuff. But I don't have the guy from the city showing up trying to confiscate my gas stove. Right.
Starting point is 00:23:10 It's a little live and let live. Yes. For us, too. Yes. Like, yeah, you got to pay your taxes and you got to pay your property taxes and, you know, obey the speed limit. But it's not overly aggressively, insanely regulated. Yes. And L.A. has the dubious distinction.
Starting point is 00:23:28 And you could, I don't know, Portland, Seattle or whatever, who has simultaneously more insane, non-logical in many cases, laws for the citizens. And every day is trying to enact another about what you can do what you can't do or you know you're gonna have to redo your you know we're gonna put your home thermostat on a timer and we're gonna be able to control it from a central headquarters and you're not allowed to do laundry between 3 and 7 p.m like they're coming for everything regulated more than any state in the union with a complete blind-eyed insane lawlessness on the other side. That chasm is huge. The chasm is always there is homeless but when the wrestler goldberg wants to buy some acreage and put a big super garage in the middle of his acreage he doesn't get hassled yeah or
Starting point is 00:24:31 totally can't right right it's funny although everybody moves down there has a story where they went to the city to get a permit and the the guy eventually looks up at them and goes you must be from california this is you want. It's your property. Right, right. So what I'm saying is you have to have one or the other. Yeah, interesting. But both, in the extreme, that creates a huge chasm. And then, of course, the person, that's kind of interesting. I was also talking to Ami Horwitz about the cops.
Starting point is 00:25:03 They're not really out there, highway patrol and stuff like that, like really enforcing the speed limit that much. Not in California, not down here anyway. I've seen them, but it's not what it used to be. No, I've noticed. I feel like COVID was the switch point. That's what I said. Yeah, because it was Grand
Starting point is 00:25:20 Theft Auto out here for a couple years, and they just never really brought it back. And I said to Ami, though, I said, how could you be handing out, you know, chicken shit speeding tickets or rolling through a four-way stop sign when then the person got home, turned on the news, and saw the flash mob out in Reseda taking over the Bullocks
Starting point is 00:25:44 and turning the place over? You knoweda taking over the Bullocks and turning the place over. You know what I mean? Like how long, like, so you can get pulled over on force law now and go, well, I can't pull over because each side of the street is lined with Winnebago's, but let me drive ahead to where the Mexicans are selling stuff unregulated. And then you can hand me the ticket. I think, and I i don't know we should do a thing let's drive up and down there fast and get a ticket and address the cops see what he said i wanted to sell mangrilla i'm gonna open a stand and just sell mangrilla do it do it so but what i'm saying is is was there a conscious thing that basically said you know essentially i'm smoking a cigarette through a
Starting point is 00:26:28 glazed donut and i'm in my bathrobe and i got a bottle of jack daniels in the pocket and i'm gonna go talk to my teenage son about working out right maybe i'll just not go down the hall yeah you know what i mean yeah should he work out yeah yeah am I really gonna be the guy who delivers that message like yeah literally getting pulled over on Forest Lawn and not having a place to a guy could light you up as you're turning off a bar ham you'd have to find some I don't know where you'd pull up you'd be going for a half a mile before you even found it interesting speaks volume positively about the guys in the patrol cars but is is that same guy that you have? I don't think it was stated. I think it's a kind of a mindset.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yeah, but that's a good thing. How am I going to fucking tell these guys, you going 49 miles an hour in Forest Lawn is dangerous when the guy's cooking fentanyl in the Winnebago next to us? So is the trap in La Cunada still there? That guy that used to sit there and grab everybody on the 210? Yeah, that guy backed up the shoulder, sort of the split. Yeah, is that still there? I see
Starting point is 00:27:34 that guy occasionally. I've driven that road a lot since COVID, and even when he's there, I don't see him take off ever. I used to see those guys up and down the 210 all the time. I wonder if it's a little bit of a – remember, I've always told you that when I used to teach at Lettuce & Muse, a traffic school, and it was a comedy traffic school, and they always wanted me to give the pitch about how great the career was going.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I've told you this a million times. I don't remember. Oh, so funny. They would go, look, Sears, these people can go to Sears Driving School for $18. They're coming to Lettuce & Music for $23. Yeah. They expect excellence.
Starting point is 00:28:20 They want top-notch comics, working professional comics. So the director's giving all the loser comics. Describe that guy to me. There were guys. There was a guy named Kenny who was like the traffic king. You know what I mean? And he'd do a thing where he'd be like, all right, where'd you get your ticket? I got my ticket in Whittier, rolling through a four-way stop sign.
Starting point is 00:28:46 Oh, Judge Jenkins? Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, he's fair. He's tough, but he's fair. Judge Jenkins, who else? And he knew every judge. He was the traffic guy. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:59 I mean, you could find this guy on the internet probably. But anyway, they give a whole big speech about, you know, really bolstering your resume. Yeah. You know, because people want to see a professional comedian. Right. Now, as I'll turn it back to the cops, which is, I would always sit there and go, I'm not going to talk about this. always sit there and go, I'm not going to talk about this. And the reason I'm not going to talk about it is we are at a YMCA in Reseda and it's Sunday morning and it's 745. There's no way I just got off the road with the Rolling Stones. You know what I mean? I'm getting 82 a class i'm here for nine hours i would seem ridiculous making this speech yep to this crowd about how great it's going because obviously it's
Starting point is 00:29:52 not going well because here we are yeah here i am that'd actually be funny that might be funny but i wouldn't make the speech and maybe cops are sort of going you know we're turning into sada sodom and gomorrah yeah it's gonna feel weird right, you know, we're turning into Sodom and Gomorrah. Yeah. It's going to feel weird, right? Yeah. Telling the soccer mom how dangerous it is, what she's doing. And I would say that's a positive thing about the cop.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Mm-hmm. That it's being a human being. Right. You know, not being just doing it, just enforcing the law. Every letter of the law, it means they're interested in the spirit a little bit. Kenny the Traffic Guy, Los Angeles. 1980s. I think he had his own public access TV show or something.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Oh my God, that's crazy. Yeah, and he was the guy. How old was he at that time? The guy in his 40s or the guy in his 60s? When you're 26 and a half and a guy's 33 he's a distinguished gentleman you know hard to tell but he dove into it head first clearly i was like i'm just gonna hang out here make a little cash on the weekend see pussies do that than some of the stuff we're seeing these days oh yeah he was he took it very seriously
Starting point is 00:31:02 i did not but i was there to sort of work out, and he was there to really impart knowledge. Kenny. Olsen? Huh? Olsen? I don't think so, but you can try. It was a traffic man, a traffic guy, Los Angeles, traffic school. Shit. You know, I think I brought this up to you. I want to bring it up one more time real quick while he's looking for that. a traffic guy, Los Angeles, traffic school, shit.
Starting point is 00:31:27 You know, I think I brought this up to you. I'm going to bring it up one more time real quick while he's looking for that. I saw Elon Musk talking to Bill Maher, and I've shared with Bill Maher a bunch of times lately how different our education was. He went to Cornell. I went to Amherst and stuff. Compared to what they're doing at those institutions and everywhere today. And Musk just said, he goes, look, this has been going on for 30 years.
Starting point is 00:31:46 You don't understand how you don't really get what's going on. It is different than how we were educated. And it's 30 years of this. It's almost two generations worth. So it's going to be some stuff. This stuff isn't, it's not new anymore. And by the way,
Starting point is 00:32:02 it's institutionalized and it's no longer college campus send your kid off to be indoctrinated they go whoa why are we waiting until college let's see if we can hit them in the fifth grade third grade start talking about the trans community Kenny Morse was his name
Starting point is 00:32:18 is there any video of that guy talking about anything traffic just a picture of him would be amazing. I do remember Kenny Morse, and he was kind of the grand poobah. You know what's a weird thing to me about the internet? How the hell does that kind of thing show up on the internet? How does it get there?
Starting point is 00:32:37 Who puts it up? A human has to have done that, right? Yeah. How does it get there? Is that him? That's him circa now. That's not when he had a full head of black hair. Mel from that Mel Diner sitcom.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Oh, Vic Tayback? Vic Tayback. It looks like Vic Tayback. Oh, he would not be happy. Because he looked like The Bachelor from The Flying Nun when I knew him. But that was 30 years ago. No ago no yeah this is a modern and so any vid oh yeah oh here we go it's gonna be old i'm guessing it has to be right i'm a traffic he's the answer guy he would have to put this shit up right who else would put it up i don't
Starting point is 00:33:23 know i don't know how to put things up. I don't know how it works. Me neither. I've got a short clip from the Commuter Talk Show that I'm playing right now. Oh! What's the difference? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:33:39 This is public action? I bet. Come on, all y'all, let's go. We've been waiting all day. public action he must have been the guest on that yeah go forward a little bit alright that's it reminds me so much of the 80s and the shit that they used to do, doesn't it?
Starting point is 00:34:05 Yeah, very kind of MTV. Yeah, MTV. And also there was a moment there when people would do their own thing. It was a low blow. But I'll let it go. You know why? Sounds like Kevin Newsom. Sounds like Kevin Newsom.
Starting point is 00:34:19 I don't know what the hell Kenny Morris is on this thing. Sorry, that link's broken for some reason. All right. All right. That was a good idea. Uh-oh. Yeah, he was the man. And I could always remember I had a lot of these moments where I was like, man, I should get into this.
Starting point is 00:34:37 You know, I... You mean run a business like that? Just be the greatest Traffic school teacher ever That's a good thing For a young man to take away from that Just be the best at whatever you're doing I just I always knew somehow
Starting point is 00:34:54 No Not this Alright let's see Doesn't look good My mornings are easier now I'm making up to the kind of music It doesn't look good. My mornings are easier now. That's a commercial now. I'm making up to the kind of music I really like. But more than that, I'm finding out about things I need to know.
Starting point is 00:35:15 That's what I like about Radio King in the morning. And all day. Finally, a radio station for someone like me. It's so hard to watch that. See, he could clear a song. Exactly. Was that Christopher Cross? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I don't know what happened to Kenny Morris, but either way, he was my teacher. I was like sort of overseed the school. So lead instructor was the top dog over there. What if he owned it? No, I don't think he did, but he would come audit your class, which is always a bad, as a bad scene. Seeing,
