Starting point is 00:02:06 You're listening to The Adam and Dr. Drew Show. Yeah, get it on. Got to get on the show. Get that, that, that, that, that on. Doctors, board-certified herbicide specialist and addiction medicine specialist, Chris Maxpatt has come in here. He's got some stories and some ideas. Chris just keeps us from talking about Love Boat, really.
Starting point is 00:02:26 That is the goal. That is the goal. I have one note, and it's the word Love Boat crossed out. That's right. That's my only note. Well, last show of the year, guys. Last show of 2023. Wow.
Starting point is 00:02:39 Crazy. Happy New Year's. Merry Christmas, everybody. All that, yeah. Happy Hanukkah, whatever. I do want to talk about the New Year, but before I do that, do you have any final thoughts on 2023? We can do better.
Starting point is 00:02:53 That's my thought. We can do better. And by we, I don't mean this place. I mean this country. Yeah, I feel like the crazy – i mean there there's two crazies there's sort of conspiracy theorists you know crazy you know i mean there's all this sort of you know obama barack obama's gay michelle obama's really a man kind of. There's those people. Yeah. Is that crazy? But see, here's my take.
Starting point is 00:03:28 That to me is novelty crazy. Yes. That's novelty crazy versus big, all-encompassing kind of bad decision crazy that affects all of us. And I've never really understood that. It was like my version of that is people would always go, you know, you'd go, listen, I feel like all the progressives and all the super liberal DAs and all the liberal mayors and the governors and everything,
Starting point is 00:04:02 I just feel like they're ruining every state and every city and driving it into the fucking ground, like super over-regulated way to overtax people moving. Nobody wants to start a business, people flopping in the street. And then my friends on the left would go, what about Marjorie Taylor green? She thinks there's Jew lasers.
Starting point is 00:04:21 You know, okay, I'm not defending her, but that doesn't... I'm trying to sell a house. The interest rates are 8%. Like they literally said, you cannot buy a house today. You cannot buy a house today. If you're young or you're old, you can't.
Starting point is 00:04:39 A house, two and a half years ago, you could afford, you know, a $400,000 house. Now you can afford a $275,000 house if you want the payments to be set. I saw that they're predicting 100-year mortgages. Okay. Oh, and then there's Jew space lasers. But except for I have kids and they're not going to be hit by Jew space lasers. And they're not going to be affected by whether Michelle Obama is a he or she or anything. But they will like to buy a home one day.
Starting point is 00:05:12 And that's, oh, and I get it. And I just said, well, they want to restrict your rights on abortion or something. And it's like, I get it. But I still think I would like them to buy a home. And then we can get to the jewish space lasers whether those exist or not later yeah and that's that's what i'm saying there's a kind of boots on the ground fucked up crazy that's destroying every city and then there's alex jones doesn't believe that people and yeah they don't believe Sandy Hook took place or something. And it's like, okay, look, I feel bad
Starting point is 00:05:46 for the handful, the very small handful of people that are affected by this guy saying Sandy Hook was a hoax. That is a very limited group. And then there's all of us who'd like to get a house
Starting point is 00:06:02 or buy fuel. Or walk safely through a city. Or walk safely through a city. Or walk safely through a city. Can we focus on that? That's the time we're living. Yeah, right. Yeah, it's weird. Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:12 So, all right, let's get away from this rearview mirror of 2023 then, because I do want to talk about next year. I do think we can do a lot better, though. I really, really, really do. There's so much. Look, let's put it this way. Lots of room for improvement. It wouldn't take a lot.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Well, you realize how fast policy kicks in now and how fast it has. I used to always say, who cares? Yeah, that's what I would say, too. Now it's like, whoa, shit, I've seen what can happen. And you add that to local government failures, like, wow, it's incredible i know but i was sorry i i had a chance yesterday to drive down for salon drive ah and they collected all the campers isn't that great and it's wide open and it's clean now and they just went somebody just said get rid of the campers and two days later there, there's no campers on Forest Lawn Drive. Yes, that's it. They just did something.
Starting point is 00:07:07 That's the crazy part about it. I've known this forever. Well, you know that. Yes, you're right. They just went enough already just because it's the studios and that's kind of their constituency and a lot of celebrities live in Toluca Lake. And somebody just went, we're going to get rid of campers.
Starting point is 00:07:26 And in 18 hours, the campers were gone. And we have Newsom now expanding psychiatric beds and psychiatric services, and on the record saying, we can't take care of homelessness if we don't take care of the mental health crisis. Yeah, but what about the mother of two? What? And then you have other assholes going, it's capitalism! Like, okay, yeah, okay, just shut up.
Starting point is 00:07:45 Let's help these people. But what about the true face of homelessness? Yeah, all right. At least we're making some. As I said, I still look at Drew missing on that homeless board. Oh, please. Well, the frustrating part is how fast it happens and how relatively easily it happens when somebody wants to make it happen.
Starting point is 00:08:04 But that's the scary part. It was never in doubt for me how easy. Look, I've always said, these are all my patients laying over the street. I know exactly what to do. And they still haven't done it fully the way I would implement it, but I know exactly how to take care of this. And I would probably be able to get at least half of these people back into a productive life.
Starting point is 00:08:22 No problem. I know how to build the resources. You got to build them and you got to put them in them and then we're on. Then we go. Is this still something you can possibly campaign for or – I've given up. I've just given up. You see Karen Bass sort of learning about what this actually is now.
Starting point is 00:08:41 You see Newsom willing to be a human being. Karen Bass, less than a year ago, gave a speech to her Democratic convention or whatever that was supposed to be kind of kept the lid on, but somehow it got out. She blamed the disparity in income for the reason for homeless. Of course, running for mayor or whatever. No, she'd already won. All right, well, she knows better now.
Starting point is 00:09:05 She is shutting up the hotel. She knows better now? This was nine months ago. They believe this shit. They believe it. That's the thing. They believe that they're... When I get in front of the...
Starting point is 00:09:15 Did Gavin Newsom think mothers of two were the real... Who were sober and employed when he came in here were the homeless from? Does he believe that? And if he does, God help us because we are fucked with these dingbags. Well, I gave a lecture in Austin to a huge group of county supervisors from all over the country.
Starting point is 00:09:34 Oh, right. And I said, what the fuck are you doing? You're running open-air hospitals without doctors or nurses. They were like, what? Why didn't somebody say so? First, I've heard that. I go, you're putting social workers to do physician. They are not trained to do what's needed.
Starting point is 00:09:50 It's like asking a physical therapist to do surgery. They're excellent at what they do. They're not surgeons. And these are medical and psychiatric patients strewn all over the streets, and you're requiring social workers to manage that? It's open air hospitals without doctors and nurses. The fuck do you think is going to happen? All right. Let me tell you about our friend Jordan Harbinger.
Starting point is 00:10:13 You're about to hear a preview of the Jordan Harbinger show from an episode all about sand. You heard me, sand. It's actually quite fascinating. It's the most consumed natural resource that the world is actually running out of. Every year, we use enough concrete to build a wall 90 feet high and 90 feet across, right the way around the planet at the equator. We're fully eclipsing the rate of creation here. You're probably sitting in a building made of just a huge pile of sand. And all the roads connecting all those buildings, also made out of sand. The glass, the windows in all those buildings, also made of sand.
Starting point is 00:10:49 The microchips that power our computers, our cell phones, all of our other digital goodies, also made from sand. So without sand, there's no modern civilization. And the craziest thing about it is, we are starting to run out. For more on why sand is the next scarce resource and crazy stories about sand pirates
Starting point is 00:11:08 on the black market for sand, check out episode 97 of the Jordan Harbinger Show. All right. What do you got, Max Spencer? Well, okay, so let's talk New Year's resolutions because, look, we've definitely talked about a lot of them with Adam on your show many times. I want to take you back to a few of them that Adam said over the years.
Starting point is 00:11:27 Okay. Dressed for success. He came into work wearing the button-down shirt. Watch him clip on a tie. A tie. He looked good. He looked good. One episode?
Starting point is 00:11:37 Maybe two. He was a few weeks. Well, to be fair to me, I found myself going to the other shop and working on car stuff or building stuff or something. And then I realized my tie could get caught in a lathe. But to be fair, what is dress for success anymore? I mean, what even is that? I don't know. Listen, here's what I believe.
Starting point is 00:12:06 When they have school uniforms, there's less school fights. And, you know, when they pump in classical music, there's less school fights. Your environment sort of does create something. So I get it. But I also think, isn't there something like you start your day with intention? Yes. Listen, I was watching the Tulsa King, the Stallone thing, and he was dressed in these beautiful suits in every episode.
Starting point is 00:12:31 And I started getting weird envy about it. I thought, I should dress nicer. What the hell's wrong with me? Drew, you used to have shirts hanging on your car window. I still do. I still do. Dressing for news and stuff. Dressing for success is a positive thing that
Starting point is 00:12:48 would have a positive impact in everyone's life, and I don't do it, but it would be a positive thing. Dress better. I think Adam's most recent one, try something new for an hour a week. He's been an advocate of that kind of thing forever.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I like that. There's one that I still think is confusing. Demand more from your deodorant. Yeah. I've seen enough commercials where people were gonna start- This is a New Year's resolution. That was a New Year's resolution. Yeah. I just don't want to demand more from my deodorant. I see commercials where guys are really athletic and they're winners and they're taking care of businesses and they started demanding more of their deodorant. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:27 So just be like them. Demand more. Yes. Is there a delivery system that's more likely to deliver that? No, just a general... Roll-on versus spray versus... Just a general demand for more. All right, more.
Starting point is 00:13:41 For my deodorant. Okay. But probably his most iconic one from 2013, so about 11 years ago. His New Year's resolution is for everyone else to get their shit together. Everyone listen to him. I'd say everyone listen to me. No, just get your shit together.
Starting point is 00:13:56 Okay, well, so far we've gone the other way, I'd say. Yes, we've slid hard the other way. Not bad advice. We did not follow it. Yes, yes. But if everyone got their shit together, we slid hard the other way. Not bad advice. We did not follow it. Yes, yes. But if everyone got their shit together, we would be living in a utopia. Of course.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Well, let's look at that for 2024. Read the Musk biography, everybody. Read it. I swear to God, read it, Chris. After hearing you talk about it, I'm very interested, actually. And after that whole interview we did for that that book that book summit where he just told bob beiger to fuck off oh yeah no when i that's when i was starting to read the book no he goes uh they go well what do you what do you think about these advertisers
Starting point is 00:14:36 pulling and he goes what do i think about it he goes yeah well they're they're pulling goes blackmailing me with money go Go fuck yourself. Go fuck yourself. Is that clear? Hi, Bob. Bob Iger from Disney. Oh, my God. And at the time, I thought, whoa, I got to learn more. That is him through and through.
Starting point is 00:14:55 That is not an unusual representation of his behavior. That is how I understand the guy. Do you think that was impulsive or that he had that planned? No. I don't think he plans much. He didn't plan it. Yeah. He just has a way of doing things, and that's the way he does things.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And he has these things called surges where he will require people to join him at 3 in the morning on the launch pad and stay there until they solve an engineering problem, which could be a week or a month. Yeah. And he'll just stay there working 24-7 until they solve these problems. And that's the way he does business. And like the people at Twitter, I couldn't wait to get to the Twitter thing when he came in there and just fired 95% of the people because that is not how he runs a business.
Starting point is 00:15:38 And he would do the same with the government. Right, but it's not how he runs. Where people are just, they're doing one line of code a day, They're playing ping pong, and their lunches are served to them. He's like, fuck this. He's shaking things up. Yeah, I love it. I think your New Year's resolution, I'm just getting a room with the guy, and let's get a recorded conversation with him.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Yeah, I'd like to interview him. Oh, my God. That would be so interesting. I would like just to meet him and just express my gratitude. Wow. Yeah, because he is making a difference. We need, didn't you tell me this,
Starting point is 00:16:12 were we on the phone? Adam just goes, we need guys like that to make the difference now. Well, I kind of agree, yeah. Now, what I was saying is we're trying to wrestle, we're trying to wrestle back a franchise, essentially. In the United States of America.
Starting point is 00:16:31 Yeah. Yes. But seriously, let's say the United States of America historically and is a Tiffany franchise. Yes. Let's just say it's Porsche. Okay. You know what I mean? And so Porsche is a Tiffany franchise
Starting point is 00:16:49 and everything they do is Porsche-centric. You know, they all have, it has to have the DNA. It has to look like a Porsche. It has to feel like a Porsche. And, you know, even if they come out with a mountain bike or a watch, it's got to feel Porsche. And then, as an example, let's just say we started saying, look, we need more DEI. We need more women and we need more Hispanics and positions of power and women of color and stuff like that. And they just came into Porsche and they started kind of working their own angles you know what I
Starting point is 00:17:25 mean like I you know I don't feel like there's enough Hispanic representation in the Porsche brand yeah you know I mean so let's make the let's make a minivan call it the Porsche Tamale you know I mean and you're going well that's not really in our DNA that's not we're not meant for that we're Porsche you know what I mean but we all sort of stood back and got yelled at and got called a racist for saying something at a board meeting or something. So we just kind of went, okay, let them, let them do their own thing. And then they started bringing in more like-minded imbeciles. And the next thing you know, Porsche wasn't really Porsche anymore. You know, it was like, eh, it was getting beat out by Toyota and Nissan and stuff. And it can be a little bit of a joke.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And our volume was going down and our profits were going down and our quality was going down in the build or something. And I believe you take people like Elon Musk and you go, you run Porsche now. Help us fix Porsche. It was a Tiffany franchise. These nutjobs got in here and fucked it up. It's what he did to NASA. Los Angeles was a Tiffany franchise, and then we handed it over to the nutjobs, and now it's shit, right?
Starting point is 00:18:42 So it's like get ao in here who can turn los angeles back into los angeles and then those people go oh you want jim crow two point no no no no we just your horrible ideas that don't work and make the problems worse we'd like to stop those we'd like to get back to being porsche and and build it back up And that's basically what the United States needs. And it is not going to happen with Kamala Harris. She's just going to fuck it up more or whomever, city council, Karen Bassett, whatever, Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newsom is not going to take the franchise
Starting point is 00:19:18 and build it back into Porsche at all. But people like Elon Musk, they're almost equally villainized as they are respected, which is weird. Yeah. So, so of course they're not, no, we're not going to elect people that would be just as villainized.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Right. I mean, well, people also don't, I mean, I don't know. Maybe this is ultimate chick. Think,
Starting point is 00:19:43 you know, like when I used to talk to my mom and I'd say like, look, here's how you should lay out the bathroom or the kitchen and design the kitchen. And I was a pretty accomplished carpenter at that point. And then she'd go, Norma says, you know, and I i'd go norma's an widow unemployed bitch who knows nothing about carpenter he's a former substitute school teacher but norma says and then so i realized she didn't put any value on my experience and my expertise and whatever and people don't do that with elon musk that's chick think they'll go like Elon Musk is blah,
Starting point is 00:20:25 blah, blah. My friend Jody, who's a cat Walker thinks that he's, you know, it's like, are you fucking nuts? She's a dumb imbecile.
Starting point is 00:20:34 Who's fucking unemployable. What are you talking about? It's like, that's where we're at. Yes. Well, that is a big ass true fucking problem. When you tell me Elon Musk has an idea,
Starting point is 00:20:44 I get the fuck out of the way. By the way, journalists are really the source of a lot of that. Yes. Where they give equal weight and value to somebody who is an extraordinarily accomplished individual and somebody they interviewed on the street. Not even equal weight. They'll beat up on the extraordinary accomplishments one. And I agree, but it's up to the choice of the people now,
Starting point is 00:21:07 and the people don't want that. Well, you know what's interesting? Adam, I had this thought. I don't know if I shared this with you. Don't want Elon? They don't want an Elon type. They want a Norma and a Jody. Right.
Starting point is 00:21:16 I don't know. I don't know. I think they're getting a little moving towards the Elon. All right. I think a lot of people liked Go Fuck Yourself when he said that. Oh, they're moving. Look, that's what it's going to take because there's no negotiating with the dumbos.
Starting point is 00:21:31 You can't really negotiate with dumb people. Reading about Musk and how he operated and stuff made me start to think about hierarchies, right? And I started thinking about the hierarchies that you and I were exposed to growing up, Adam. And I went to Little Lord Fauntleroy School for Albino Hemophiliacs. And at that school – That's my life. At that school – What, you think I thought that up?
Starting point is 00:21:56 No, come on. At that school, we had a headmaster. We had a headmaster, okay? And the headmaster was some old white dude in a bow tie that you would – I mean you would literally hide in the hallways to not interact with him. Like this was ultimate authority walking around at all times. And you had profound like idolatry, respect for him. And then we had our – the middle and lower school, upper school, each had their own sort of president or whatever, or director, and they were sort of more 70s-ish. They were more personable and stuff. But I thought, oh, that's the end of hierarchy
Starting point is 00:22:37 that I was exposed to. And our generation did away with it. Rock and roll was about, fuck hierarchy. That's what it was about. And I was talking to one of my sons the other day. I thought, oh yeah, we did that. So the extent that you're looking for a hierarchy and trying to judge things, we fucked that up for you. We should take responsibility for that. We still have that view though. But I think people are searching for a new version of, it shouldn't be like that. It should be an old white dude in a bow tie. It shouldn't be that. But we need a new version. I think Musk may be that kind of version of hierarchy that is coming our way, where people can do things in the name of problem-solving and efficiency and just getting shit done. And you just... You got to stay out of their way.
Starting point is 00:23:18 I just... I think if you're letting the students pick who's teaching the class, we're going to go for someone less. That can't happen. Well, it's happening. All right. Let me tell you about our friend, Jordan Harbinger.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Students selecting. No. Well, that's, I'm just saying that that's the Pete where the people like we're choosing who we listen to and, and we're not going to pick somebody strict and authoritarian. Well,
Starting point is 00:23:45 here's, here's, here's the problem some new version you have a large quantity of dumb simple let's just call them simple people right and then you have a smaller group of smarter but manipulative people who are sort of leading the charge. You know what I mean? Self-serving. Well, you take Black Lives Matter. You know what I mean? You have a handful of smart people who know how to manipulate and then an army of sort of useful idiots you know who are just out marching they don't that was lenin's thing right they don't even know real statistics on unarmed black men
Starting point is 00:24:31 being shot by cops they don't know anything they're just taking yeah they're just a mob of dumb people that are just taking to the street but it's a handful of smarter people who have something to gain from it. The people marching in the street, all they've done is pissed away an evening for nothing. No change, no cause, no anything. But there's a smarter group that are at the top, you know, Jesse Jackson or something, Al Sharpton.
Starting point is 00:24:59 You know, Al Sharpton has something. He profits. Then he's got a huge group of useful idiots underneath him that are also, and then he has CNN who uses, gains from it and profits from it too. And now we have this. And this is, I mean, what do you think just happened with COVID?
Starting point is 00:25:18 Handful of people who are smart, who know how to manipulate, who did understand a bunch of stuff, and then just strongs of dumbos underneath it who are like almost superstitious natives who then become the foot soldiers for the smart people at the top who are profiting. And then sprinkle in MSNBC doing a four-minute commercial for Pfizer
Starting point is 00:25:40 about having your infants injected with a vaccine so their organs won't go bad on their 11th birthday. I mean, you watch that stuff now and you're like, I don't even know what this, like, go back. Don't go back five years. Go back two and a half years and just watch what these people were saying. Read the Newsweek article on my statement and how I was wrong about everything. Read the New York Times article on me.
Starting point is 00:26:10 I went over it line by line with Rob Schneider. Every sentence turned out to be wrong. Watch the ladies on MSNBC talk about having to get your infant vaccinated because of the organ failure problem that we're having in this country. Go back and look at that stuff from... Look at Sotomayor's comment about the hundreds of thousands of babies on ventilators. Just go back and look at how wrong all those
Starting point is 00:26:32 people were. Or were they wrong? They were lying? Oh. So it's stupid or liar. I've told you motherfuckers for a decade. Stupid or liar? That's... Well, this was... we just saw it with COVID yeah well did we ever it was a lot of stupid
Starting point is 00:26:49 a lot of stupid a lot of scared stupid scared is another version of stupid a scared stupid is very dangerous that's what we saw yes I want to talk about New Year's resolutions and how everyone else can get their shit together for next year.
Starting point is 00:27:06 Chris, get your shit together. I do want to get my shit together. Well, so you guys have been doling out advice for decades. And let's try to shape New Year's resolutions for each generation. So let's start with people in their 20s. What do you think they should focus on for 2024? Then their 30s, then the 40s, 50s. Okay. And let's see. All right, 20s. So let's start with the 20s. What do you suggest. Then their 30s, then the 40s, 50s. And let's see.
Starting point is 00:27:26 All right, 20s. So let's start with the 20s. What do you suggest people in their 20s? I mean, we have a guy in his 20s in the booth, Byron. Don't do him specific. Because I have two things. I have two thoughts. One part of me wants to go- 20s is, I'll tell you. Go ahead. 20s is all building. It is all laying track
Starting point is 00:27:48 for your transcontinental railroad. There will be no drives across... There will be no railroad going across the country. You're laying track. That's all you're doing is setting the table for your 30s. That's all you can do in your 20s. The two thoughts I had in my head were, one part
Starting point is 00:28:04 of me went, oh shit, go back and really get yourself a fucking skill. Go educate or train as a tradesman or something. Get a seriously, seriously apply yourself at a skill and then start laying down track. So I have both those thoughts.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So settle on a skill. That is laying down track. It is laying down track, I know. But once you have that skill, you're going to have to really go use it for a while. I don't- That is laying down a track. It is laying down a track, I know. But once you have that skill, you're going to have to really go use it for a while. It doesn't need to be a specific skill. Your 20s should be all delayed gratification. Oh, yes. That's all.
Starting point is 00:28:34 A thousand percent. Everything should be about learning. A thousand percent. It should be about mentorship, you being mentored. It should be about learning some skill. It doesn't have to be in a trade, but something saving, not getting in a position where, oh, I have kids and I've got to pay for. Roommates.
Starting point is 00:28:52 You shouldn't be buying cars with big monthly nut payments. Your car should be a used car that you pay for in cash. Eating out, vacations, travel, very limited. Very limited. All, it should be all sacrifice for when you get into your 30s. The real people that- Although 30s aren't going to fully pay out yet. Yeah, we're going to get there.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Well, the real people that fuck it up is the people that just fuck around all through their 20s and then they get to their 30s, and they don't have a base. Right, right. Let's move to the 30s. Well, if you missed your 20s, repeat. You know what I mean? It's okay if you missed it, because a lot of shit happened in the last 10 years. And there's a delayed adulthood.
Starting point is 00:29:40 And if that's you, then lay it down now. Apply what we just said to the 20s for your 30s. Those of you that did the 20s properly, it's a slow build now. Expect a slow build. But do try to really – my thing at that point would be integrate. Like put together all the skills you have in some integrative fashion that makes what you have unique and build it. Does that sound good? Yeah. Well, according to the plan, but I cannot unfurl the plan if we're just going to go, well, your 20s, you need to work and plan
Starting point is 00:30:20 and sacrifice. And then we get to their 30s and they go, well, we didn't do anything in our 20s. No, then repeat your 20s. Then do the 20s. Yeah, I know, but it's not going to work in a linear fashion because we keep going. You fucked up your first part of the plan. But you got to do the first part in the 20s. 30s is integration.
Starting point is 00:30:38 It's when you start to deploy your plan. You get, you know, and i i guess what i guess what that would what that would be is uh you quit your job as the starbucks barista or the bar let's say you quit your job at the bartender at the nice restaurant you know you can you could work at katsuya as a waitress and walk out of there with 400, 500 bucks in tip cash every single night and be 27 years old and go, I'm making fucking four or 500 bucks cash a night. I don't have to report a quarter of it or none of it or half of it or
Starting point is 00:31:18 whatever. I'm doing, you know, I'm doing, I'm a hot chick doing bottle service at a fucking club. I'm getting tipped through the fucking roof. I work three nights a week. You know, I work Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Starting point is 00:31:33 I don't have to show up till six at night. I'm walking with five grand cash and tips, you know, after whatever. Okay. Now it's time to quit that job and get a job where you're low level at an advertising firm or something like that. You're going to take a hit. Now all of a sudden you're trading in your nighttime, three day a week job
Starting point is 00:31:55 where you get to fucking party with NBA guys for a show up at 8.30 in the morning, commute. This is another form of delay gratification. Well, it's the beginning of the implication. Integration. Integration. So I would say this. Integration.
Starting point is 00:32:13 I agree entirely with what Adam's saying, which is this is the decade. Just take some risk. That's a risk to do that. To really let go of this sure thing. Yeah. I mean, it's not really risk. It's like you're making good cash doing nothing. All right, but do take risks.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Do take risks. And get rid of that and suck it up and commute and get your pay cut by 80% and go work at that agency or whatever. And now start working your way up that ladder. So this is when you go to work with your lights on, come home with your lights on. Yes. That's what I tell my kids.
Starting point is 00:32:52 I want you first in, last out. This is when you apply yourself. Okay. And I think you should take – you can't take risk in your 40s and 50s the same way. So I think 30s is kind of the risk time. Okay. And then pay attention to your compass. I don't mean your moral compass. I mean, make sure you're always heading due north,
Starting point is 00:33:12 like you're always going towards something. Does that fit, Adam, for you? Yeah. I mean, now it's time to service what you've been working on all this time. Watch your compass. Okay, 40s. All right. 40s, you might have kids and things. And so things kind of, it becomes like a base building kind of thing. Now you've got to slow down a little bit. A little more cruise control. Not cruise control, because there's all kinds of other shit that comes in.
Starting point is 00:33:36 But it's about, it's really about building a family and building a life and that kind of thing. And so it's like building a base. It's a little different than what I would call what's happening in the 20s and 30s. 40s is when you start diversifying. Yes. You still have your foot in this one business. You're talking about career now, strictly.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Moving toward other facets of businesses. You have other ideas that are like side ideas. You collaborate with some other. Ideally, he's right. You start working with other people in other realms that you weren't really working in before and doing other business ventures that weren't what you had initially thought you were going to do. The 40s are the expand and diversify age, I would say.
Starting point is 00:34:25 I agree with that. 50s, lastly. 50s can be all over the place. Yeah, I mean, I feel like 50s is neither here nor there one. That's where you try to keep the momentum from the 40s going. And it's also about new relationships and different relationships, like meeting with people that are younger doing something sort of different and sort of going oh what are you doing or maybe
Starting point is 00:34:50 stay in touch with yeah yeah it's more diversity but they build you know it's good yeah kind of a divide diverse relationship would it be accurate to say you start doing a little more just what you want to do like you don't you don't yeah i mean it's a little more just what you want to do? Like you don't – Yeah, I mean it's a little more of like – the 50s are like someone goes, oh, I got this project working with Joe Blow. And you go, I've worked with Joe Blow before. I really don't like Joe Blow. And then somebody goes, well, it's a good project. And you go, I just don't want to go in and deal with that guy every day.
Starting point is 00:35:23 It's not worth the money to go deal with that. It's not worth the money. It's also you have some confidence that something else you do want to do will come along. Yeah, you have some experience. You've been at it for two decades. You land on your feet. Less risk, but more experience. It is interesting that all of your New Year's resolutions were career-based.
Starting point is 00:35:44 I was trying to go a little family relationship. I shot that down. No, I think it is good to keep it kind of one direction. I think the family stuff is baked into the cake. I mean, you have a relationship. You have kids. That's all. You have your friendships, and that's all baked in.
Starting point is 00:36:04 I would also say that. That's a given. That I've always said about marriage, it's about building a life. And underneath that is this career running through to kind of support that life. Yeah. And if she wants to make some money, that's cool. It is very cool. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:36:17 Very cool. All right. Boy, wouldn't that be cool. We solve it. January 5th and 6th. two shows, Phoenix, CB Live, and then it's off to Solana Beach on the 7th. Jesus Christ. Greg Fitzsimmons, FitzDog, Jody Miller's going to be with me as well,
