What's going on?
Starting point is 00:02:03 Hey man, you smoking cigarettes this morning? I did. What? I'm morning cigarettes i never do it does he ever come in smell oh look at all the looks i smoke cigarette there's not a single look over here i got no stinking of tobacco half a cigarette my ass you don't know you do know i smoke half a cigarette i I do. I do. But I'm wondering if that clothing has been exposed to more than just half a cigarette. Maybe. I had a long night last night. I didn't get any sleep. I just couldn't go to bed.
Starting point is 00:02:35 I ended up going to bed and tossing and turning. I got night sweats. I've been having lots of that lately myself. I woke up, and if I wake up stressed out or in not my right place, I want a cigarette or I want like a sloppy joe or something. If I get a full night's sleep, I don't feel that way. You know, this is honestly what I've been doing lately. And I know you're a heavyweight, so you need something more.
Starting point is 00:02:59 But the wellness company has a pretty good sleep aid that I've really been very pleased with. I'll try that. Yeah, okay, I'll get you that, too. Give me that, too. All right. All right. So what are we talking about? Your cigarettes.
Starting point is 00:03:10 Elon Musk said hi to me on Twitter. Did you see that? That's what I heard. Did we talk about it? It's hysterical. I know. You have the lowest self-esteem of anybody. I know.
Starting point is 00:03:20 What is it? They played a video video or I did. Oh, my gosh. I'm blanking on. Dave Rubin. Yeah. I did the Rubin Report or whatever he calls it now. And this is the interview.
Starting point is 00:03:38 And it's not worth playing the tape, I don't think. It's just there it is. And he's got a great setup in Florida. He's so happy there. He's got twin little boys that are beautiful. Anyway, we spent the morning with them. And he said something that I guess came out of a Michael Malice interview where he was saying, where did you sort of start understanding that everything in the media is bullshit?
Starting point is 00:04:05 Essentially, he was asking that question. And I said, you know, I've gotten to the point where I much to my – he's asking when were you red-pilled, which is sort of a general – I never know what people really mean when they're asking me that. Because you were the only people – we never saw the – The Matrix. The Matrix. You were the only people who's never seen the Matrix.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Right. And so I kind of know what they mean. And so anyway, so I said, look, at this point, I've realized you can't believe anything in legacy media. I always thought there was something, but I realized it's just complete and utter. And again, the rain reporting is your latest example of that here in Los Angeles. It's just constant. God help you if they ever do a print article on you, because whether it's online, on a substance, you will see how far from reality anything is reported.
Starting point is 00:04:50 It's just incredible. And he asked, well, where did that happen to you? And I said, well, you know, what really I think when people, I think Malice asked me that, and what occurred to me was when I first interviewed RFK Jr., I was sort of – I thought he was going to be just a total crackpot. I found him to be quite reasonable with good thoughts, smart guy, sort of brilliant, articulate. And his ideas on vaccines were essentially that he – family's all vaccinated. Everybody's vaccinated. He just was raising awareness about the cozy relationship between the pharma companies and the regulators.
Starting point is 00:05:27 And I told Dave, I can't even allow a pharma company into my office to give me a pen with a medication name on it. And yet these guys are sharing jobs and careers and back and forth between the FDA and the pharma company. It's just crazy. Head of Lilly is now the head of the HHS. It's just crazy. Head of Lilly is now the head of the HHS. It's just wild. And that he felt that vaccines had gotten off too easy in terms of the necessity for approval, that the research should be more rigorous. I don't have a strong opinion, but he really blew me away with the cozy relationship. And at the end of the interview, he said, you know, you're so brave to interview me.
Starting point is 00:06:05 It's so courageous. And I thought, it takes courage to have an interview with an adult in a public sphere. When he first told me that, I was like, what? And of course, I eat shit for the interview and stuff and got a lot of whatever. And it got me thinking, I don't know if this is something that you and I – any of it. So they put it up, and Elon Musk said, Dr. Drew gets it on a retweet. And then 17 million people saw it. That's great.
Starting point is 00:06:35 But it got me thinking about this whole thing. I'm really bothered by this. You're platforming people. You're platforming the wrong people, right? This whole notion that if you talk to somebody, you're participating in some sort of harmful endeavor. And did I ever talk to you about, I think I did, about who I thought was the biggest spreader of misinformation in history ever?
Starting point is 00:07:00 Did I ever talk? No. Okay, it's another few minutes, another couple seconds. So there is one scientist in history who, from the moment he spoke up about his new findings, was immediately silenced by the powers that be. And what they told him was, hey, look, we need time to think about this. You're wrong because God didn't construct the world the way you think. By the way, one of the people that had the exact same pushback, Albert Einstein. So he was number two on my list because his pushback was, how could you talk about something
Starting point is 00:07:37 so vague? This is God's great universe and your theories of energy, it's all bullshit. Well, this particular guy is not Einstein, but he was told that he would literally unravel society. You're talking about Galileo? I'm talking about Galileo. And he would unravel society. He would challenge where people think they are in the fabric of the universe. The church would be challenged. Authority would be challenged.
Starting point is 00:08:04 It would have so much harm. Let us think about it before we allow you to talk. Finally, he kept kind of speaking up, speaking up. They sent him to the Spanish Inquisition twice and finally was put on complete lockdown himself. So do you want to be the person that's silencing Galileo or would you rather look around in an interview, see if you find some Galileos lying around within – just learn something from people that might be spreading disinformation but might have some real interesting insights within that? You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:08:36 Yeah. Well – The people that silence the great thinkers or any thinkers are never the good guys, ever, in the eyes of history. Yeah, the problem is people's investment and their – I mean, if you think about the self-esteem movement, the self-esteem movement is not built on achievement. It's built on talk, you know, sort of you're the best and you're the coolest. Wubba wubba. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:07 And you are queen and there's no other you and, you know, don't let anybody talk to you this way and have pride and a bunch of stuff, your fat body or whatever it is, you know. So it's very precarious. You know, it's precariously perched you know what i'm saying yeah and i do i think about this sometimes as as it pertains to what it must be like so hear me out to have been raised in that no i just mean well i'll give you another avenue or venue all right okay um i'm funny and i've always been funny and i've always been i've always felt like i'll be the
Starting point is 00:09:57 funniest guy in the room that's what i always felt like okay and so if you go well howard stern's going to have you on you could be nervous about that because you could be comparing yourself to other comedians and all the luminaries and all the greats have been on the show or Howard himself. But I'm always like, well, I'm funnier than everybody, so I don't have anything to worry about. And then I go on and I am. So I don't – it gets cemented. You know what I mean? But I do oftentimes think about what if I was wrestling with my ability?
Starting point is 00:10:34 Like not so sure. I'm a comedian but inside, like a fighter that kind of knows he's not, he's probably going to get beat by the guy across the ring from him. You know what I mean? Yeah. Then I would have to sort of, the conversation came up, I'm going to bring it all the way around,
Starting point is 00:10:57 but we're talking about, I was talking with someone on the road last week about John Popper. It's like, oh, such a great musician. And such a nice guy. He can be a nice guy because he sings better, plays better than anyone who's ever going to be in the room with him.
Starting point is 00:11:13 And he knows it. So he gets to be nice. And it's like all these other divas with all their stuff, you know, J-Lo and whatever their stuff and their diva. And it's not all straight, but it's sort of, yeah, because they know the backup singers have better chops than they do. Do you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:11:32 And so they have to kind of construct an almost pro wrestler type facade, scaffolding around them. I said the guys, the heavyweight UFC champ guys, they're the nicest i said the guys there were you know the heavyweight ufc champ guys they're the nicest guys in the world they believe it there's nobody in any bar any room or any lobby of any hotel that's ever going to be able to take them and they know it and and and john popper knows it yeah and then john popper then has the luxury of being regular and friend, not regular. It doesn't have to construct this thing, you know. But, and then, you know, the guys that we know that have the actual bona fides and resume can afford, like, you know, can afford, like, you know, the most self-deprecating guy,
Starting point is 00:12:30 one of the most self-deprecating guys out there is like Mark Geragos. I make fun of him all the time. He laughs and laughs and laughs and doesn't care because he's sitting in his mansion somewhere, right? He knows who he is. He knows what he's done. All right. What if you took all that away? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:12:43 And all you're writing off of is people telling you you were special, but in the face of no evidence. There's no plaques. There's no awards. There's no degrees. There's no achievements. There's no trophies. There's just people telling you.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Well, try busting that person's balls and see how they ran. Right. And that's kind of... The world we're in. We're wrong. And you're describing that construct you've sort of painted is narcissism. That's the construct of narcissism. What I'm saying is Mark Garagos can frequently say,
Starting point is 00:13:20 I didn't know about that, or you were right about that, or I was wrong about that, because he has this base. And the base is solid. It's a solid foundation. But what if your base is just fumes of nothing? Let's say Mark was a narcissist. He can still, he feels secure in protecting that fragile inner core because he's built all these abilities.
Starting point is 00:13:42 And in a weird way, that's sort of the low self-esteem thing also, which you just end up building things to kind of compensate for that. Kind of all the same sort of stuff. But the fragile narcissist who's sort of in a fantasy world, that is a dangerous person. And guess what? Rejection, scapegoating, all the shit we see going on right now. That person can't afford to go, you know, maybe I got a whole bunch wrong about COVID.
Starting point is 00:14:10 No, no. That person has to lash out and try to shut you down. And this is an offshoot of the self-esteem movement. We now have tons of these people roaming around trying to protect themselves. Again, saying things like, I told you. I told you this. No, you didn't tell me. I told you.
Starting point is 00:14:29 These kind of weird circular arguments about what I told you or what I knew or what I know in my heart. And then examine a Jay Bhattacharya. He's kind, soft-spoken, clear, brilliant, knows what he knows, takes positions that are harsh sometimes, and just drills them. No problem. He's the poster child for this. The people- The opposite of this, quite frankly. Think about the people who say things like, I didn't know that, but you're right. Or that's a very interesting thought.
Starting point is 00:15:07 I wish I'd thought of it. They're all the smart people who are super successful and usually kind of right-leaning. Or libertarian. Or libertarian. Leave me alone. Yeah, right. The ones – well, right by today's standards, not by Bill Clinton's standards. Well, right by today's standards, not by Bill Clinton's standards.
Starting point is 00:15:30 But what I'm saying is there's a kind of security, and it's a micro and a macro thing. It's kind of a large-scale thing. You also see it on a smaller scale. If there's some friend of your wife who's insecure or something and doesn't feel like she's made waves in life or got anything done, the snarky and defensive and argumentative. You know what I mean? It's all that. It's really the UFC heavyweight guy versus the short guy who thinks he's a tough guy but got cut off the junior college football team because he wasn't fast enough.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Those are the guys picking the fights. The guys at the top of the food chain, not so much. So now we've created throngs of those people, and we've pushed them out into society, and a lot of them end up on The View. You know what I mean? Like most of those women, you know, Joy Behar, she, is anyone, she's a comedian. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Has anyone ever said, oh, did you hear what Joy Behar said and wasn't making fun of her? Right. Has anyone ever said. Or did you see her one hour stand? Yeah, yeah. Or, you know what, you want to see Chappelle this weekend or should we go to the Megadome and see Joy Behar? It's funny.
Starting point is 00:16:44 It's funny because she's not. And she's not funny. And she's not funny on that show. So she has to have a sort of chip and also kind of a level of agitation. I mean, you take Dave Chappelle.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Seems utterly relaxed everywhere all the time on stage or off stage, right? Because why? Why wouldn't he be? Why not be? You know, there's no compensation going on, you know? And I think this is what we're dealing with.
Starting point is 00:17:18 And then there's that kind of a – then you take these people and you go, look, we're going to elevate you into some position you're probably not supposed to be in. Kamala Harris. Because everyone told me I am. Barbara Ferrer, L.A. County Health Minister, whatever. Well, do they say things like, huh, you make a good point, or I'm open to hearing new ideas, or I may have been wrong about a few. No, no, no. Now you really have to circle the wagons because you're not supposed to be there.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Do you know what I mean? Oh, yeah. We shoved you and artificially elevated you into some position, and then you become like a kid in some Disney movie who's now the boss of a huge corporation. And you go, well, what a boss. I would march around and demand things. You know what I mean? Right.
Starting point is 00:18:12 The real guys who are the real deal, they never do that. Right. They never act that way. That's right. You can't tell they're the boss. Right. To be fair, I mean, they can be harsh, but they're harsh by today's standards again. But their harshness is much the way our football coaches would be harsh.
Starting point is 00:18:29 Like, I'm trying to help you. Right. Let's get at this. Yeah. There's, you know, whenever they do that thing where it's like, well, this comedian, he doesn't really like it when the other comedians are funnier, you know, on the whatever. And it's like, okay, because that guy's insecure about his comedy chops yeah you know what i'm saying yeah that's what that is they would talk i mean you've never heard me talk about
Starting point is 00:18:51 comedy relax true you look at your phone during the break you don't listen just relax you never don't look at anything you never heard me talk about comedians or I'm funnier, that guy, or he comes in here and tries to show me up or whatever. I don't care. I'd like them to come on and be as funny as they can possibly be for as long as they can be funny. Yes. And I'm not that magnanimous. I just feel comfortable. And by the way, as it pertains to most things, I don't know about you, but I feel joy seeing other people's success.
Starting point is 00:19:26 It's weird to me when people get envious. I want to see more of that. I want to see more. I want people to thrive. With Florida, that's why I like going to Florida because people are in it. They're doing stuff. Yeah. You know, as a word, you know, I have an obsession with the French lately, but there's a word in one of the lectures I was listening to that I have not heard in years.
Starting point is 00:19:44 And it's an obvious word, and he was complaining about the morale in the country. And I thought, oh, we have no morale at all. Well, why would we? Well, first things first, the most insidious thing you can be is racist, and we never stop talking about racism. How could you have morale? How could you have morale?
Starting point is 00:20:04 Yeah. you can be is racist and we never stop talking about racism how could you have morale yeah i mean what if it's pedo we'll just replace racism with pedophilia yeah we just that's well quite that's what we talk about yeah when biden gives a speech he talks about how so many americans are pedophiles we put it in the end zone of the nfl games it's just pedophile talk pedophile talk eric ad Adams starts talking about the reason people hating on me is because you're all pedophiles. Like how much of that could you have before you went? I don't think this is a very good place, right? Yeah. All right. Let me tell you about our friend Jordan Harbinger. You're about to hear a preview of the Jordan Harbinger
Starting point is 00:20:40 show with Bill Browder, who uncovered a massive fraud inside the Russian government and took on one of the most powerful men in the world, Vladimir Putin. While I was sitting there, 90 percent, they were going to steal my last 10 cents on the dollar. So I took a decision which nobody had ever taken before, which was to take on one of the oligarchs. I did. I fought back big time. Sergei and I exposed the crime. The same people who Sergei testified against arrested him and then tortured him to try to get him to withdraw his testimony. He was really a man of steel.
Starting point is 00:21:15 On the morning of November 17th at 7.45 a.m., I got the call from Sergei's lawyer, and it was the most horrifying, life-changing, soul-destroying news that I could have ever gotten. For more on how Bill Browder continues to fight for change while being a thorn in the side of Vladimir Putin, check out episode three, which is one of the most popular episodes of The Jordan Harbinger Show. All right, so I have a thought experiment for you, Drew. Ooh, I'm ready. On my never-ending topic of race. But it's interesting because the tables are turning.
Starting point is 00:21:56 And it's a thought experiment, but it's kind of, I think I'm going to make my case, okay? Okay. I think I'm going to make my case, okay? Okay. I was leaving out of Fort Lauderdale over the weekend on Sunday, and I was flying JetBlue and checked a bag over at JetBlue, a big merchandise bag, and then started to make my way towards security.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Made my way towards security with my blue collapsible bags a soft bag now listen i have no idea in 2024 why fucking people would travel with one of those hard shell bags which women always travel with has something to do with their clothes getting wrinkled or something but people get get those big shells, right? And then they fucking fight with them. They try to get them into the overhead. They try everything. And then sometimes they get to the gate, and the gate's like, we're checking your bag. And they're like, I've got a carry-on.
Starting point is 00:22:55 No, it's not a carry-on, ma'am. It's a big tortoise. We've got to check. Now, I didn't follow my own advice, which I realized is I traveled with a duffel bag my entire career. Just literally Audi gave it to me at some event, literally 14 years of a duffel bag. But then I commandeered my son's bag, which has wheels on it, but it's soft. Yeah. And it has a little frame and wheels, just two wheels.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Yeah. And, you know, you drag it around. Now, the lesson I've learned is if you're getting onto a full flight, don't wheel it behind you. Collapse the handle and carry it. Okay. Because then they'll let you walk past. Yes, yes. If you're wheeling it, they'll stop you. Yeah, yeah carry it. Okay. Because then they'll let you walk past. Yes, yes. If you're wheeling it, they'll stop you.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Yeah, yeah. Right? Yeah. But I've been traveling for the last couple years every airport in America with this wheelie soft bag. And so I go check my merch bag in over at JetBlue, and I'm leaving. And I'm not cutting it close, but I don't have much time to dilly-dally. I'm heading toward security maybe about 50 minutes before the flight.
Starting point is 00:24:15 But I have clear, so I'm fine. So as I'm wheeling this thing toward the front of the security line and getting ready to get my clear line, also I'm wheeling it because I'm out in general pop. And I've already, the JetBlue person who checked my other bag has seen this bag sitting next to me and has not said anything about it. So as I'm wheeling it, I get to the front of security. And there's like a 22, 23-year-old black woman with a mask around her chin. And I'm not saying over the mouth.
Starting point is 00:24:50 I mean just pure chin. Just chin. Like a president from 1879. You know what I mean? With the weird whiskers. Just around the chin. And she goes, yeah, you're going to have to check that bag. And I'd not really seen this before.
Starting point is 00:25:11 At the front of, I'm just going through the security line. Yeah. And she's going, you got to check the bag. And I go, well, I'll just go through, and if JetBlue needs to check it, JetBlue can check it. She goes, no, you got to check it now blue can check it yeah she goes no you gotta check it now and i said well i i bring it everywhere and i brought it here i didn't check i never check it she goes you gotta check it's too big so first thought you would know maybe your wife would i was like she worked for jet blue like who who does she work for right she's not wearing a jet blue outfit she's wearing a
Starting point is 00:25:45 security outfit right so i got caught off guard like do you represent all airlines because everything on the other side of this security is all airlines i'm not showing you a jet blue anything you're just pulling me not even pulling me out of line i I didn't get in line. So she goes, you got to check it. And I go, is that check it at the gate? Where are we checking it? She goes, no, you got to go back to JetBlue. There's a line. I already checked a bag there.
Starting point is 00:26:15 But it's going to cost 50 bucks now. You got to go back. And I'm kind of like, I'm a little tight on time now. I didn't anticipate this part. You got to go back, get in line. Did she have a TSA badge or anything? Yeah, I think she was TSA. She wasn't a JetBlue employee.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Sometimes they have like greeters at these lines. You know what I mean? Like people like helping people figure out where they're supposed to go. I don't know. I really, I should have taken a picture. But I said, no, I take this bag everywhere. It fits in the overhead. It's not an issue.
Starting point is 00:26:51 So she goes, well, try to fit it in the template over there. And they had the template, the ones that look like a rack. Not a box, but like a rack, like how you would store a huge taco shell. So I go, all right. And now the reason I travel with a soft bag is because you can always just mash it up into the overhead, and you just mash it into stuff. So I just dropped it in, kind of pushed it in a little, and it just dropped right in. So I go, yeah, see?
Starting point is 00:27:24 Fits. And she goes, it's hanging past. It's like hanging out lengthwise an inch on each side of the template. So the template you sort of think of as for a thickness. You know what I mean? But she's saying it's hanging out lengthwise.
Starting point is 00:27:40 And I go, okay. But now, like, I'm running late. I just dropped this thing in. Take it back. Go back to JetBlue. Go get in line and wait and pay. Check it. I said, okay.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Well, now I don't know what to do. Now I've got to go back to JetBlue. Now, I started thinking about it later on. And I was like okay this woman's 23 yeah she grew up on a steady diet of racism and white supremacy and in the dna of of america and it's it's built into our culture and heterosexual old tall white guys that have been fucking this nation up. And by the way, if it was up to me, she wouldn't have a job, according to her. Right. So then I start going, well, how much is that is factoring into this equation? Okay, why wouldn't it factor in if that's how you grew up with that?
Starting point is 00:28:40 You're a young black woman. You're wearing a mask. It's around your chin., you're wearing a mask. It's around your chin. Nobody else is wearing a mask. You're wearing a mask, you're kind of saying how you are politically. You're watching Joy Reid and MSNBC.
Starting point is 00:28:56 You're watching all the channels that talk about systemic racism all the time because that's what the mask is telling me, right? Then I would if you watch that, then I would sort of represent the oppressor. And most of the talk is about power and stealing your power and having the power. Well, this is power. You're turning me around and walking me 100 yards back the wrong direction.
Starting point is 00:29:24 I've got to stand in line and I've got to pay. Yeah. That's power. Yep. It's literally – I would have preferred – honestly, I would have preferred her just blow her nose into a Kleenex and drop it on the ground and then say, pick it up. Yeah. Would have been much easier for me. And I would have done it.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Yeah. So she's exercising her power. Yeah. She's young and black. She's grown up on a steady diet of this. And she's got the mask around her chin, which says, this is the side of the aisle that I'm on. So then I started thinking about it. And I thought, how much would this have changed if, let's just say, I was wearing a mask?
Starting point is 00:30:03 And she may have gone, oh. Oh, teammate. Yeah. Tribe. Or what if I was wearing a mask and I was a female? All right. Well, you never know. Could have got worse.
