Recorded live at Corolla One Studios with Adam Corolla and board-certified physician and addiction medicine specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky. You're listening to The Adam and Dr. Drew Show Yeah, get it on Got to get on Dr. Drew's board
Starting point is 00:02:51 45th station, 6th medicine specialist. He's over there in New York City and Chris Max Patterson studio. Gentlemen You fly a lot, Drew, right? Yeah, and I get clipped by fees I don't anticipate.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Oh, man, you don't know. Well, wait a minute. You're white. That doesn't affect you. Oh, I've got to imagine how if I weren't. Oh, my God. If they found out you were black. Oh, no, they know you're black somehow when they charge you. Right. They think it's Dr. Drew.
Starting point is 00:03:24 They have a rule like anyone named Lucius charge him the extra money. For guys named Tim, like how do they get Tim Scott? He's black, but how would the airlines know to gouge him for extra knee room? It's unfair to the airlines. Yeah, they're getting ripped off by Tim Scott
Starting point is 00:03:39 because they probably think he's a white guy. I don't really hear Chris, guys. Is that a thing there? He's in his... I can hear him in his mic here. Okay, all right. So maybe it's just my end. All right, sorry. So he's not saying anything anyway.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Yeah. All right, good. Anyway, I'm telling you, I flew to Vegas again last week. And again, they do the beverage, they cancel out the beverage on Southwest. They go, ah, it was a little choppy. It was a little choppy coming in. So we're just going to, for safety, we do the beverage, they cancel out the beverage on Southwest. They go, ah, it was a little choppy. It was a little choppy coming in. So we're just going to, for safety, we're going to, I called, Mike was flying in Southwest from Long Beach.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I was flying from Burbank. I was like, Mike, did they cancel your beverage? Yep, they canceled the beverage, said it was going to be choppy. Then we flew home and they said it was going to be choppy. But the thing is, is it's not choppy. and they said it was going to be choppy, but the thing is it's not choppy. And when we flew home, the pilot, upon
Starting point is 00:04:28 landing, said sorry about canceling the beverage service. We thought it was going to be choppy. It wasn't choppy. This is a ruse. This is a new thing. This is a new thing. I am telling you five out of the last seven
Starting point is 00:04:44 Southwest flights to Vegas and make it ten because it's there and back have had the beverage canceled because they said it was choppy and they were looking for safety. And by the way, safety fucks everything up. When they go for safety purposes,
Starting point is 00:04:59 you say safety purposes, then you can do whatever the fuck you want. Once you say safety, they are canceling all the beverage on all the southwest of vegas and they've realized they can do it because all they have to do is go it was a little bit choppy when we're heading here right and what are you supposed to do argue with them yeah well listen i have a prop i have a theory about this because i i've done a few many of those Vegas Southwest flights. And by the time you're up in the air and hitting the cruising altitude and getting everybody out of their seatbelts and things,
Starting point is 00:05:32 you have about 20 minutes before you're into descent. And there's like 250 people on these planes packed into them. And you've got four flight attendants trying to get all these drinks straight. And they barely make it. So my bet is that they started not making it a few times. And the passengers that didn't get their drink probably raised such holy hell because it was inequitable that they just went, fuck it. If there's a possibility of us not getting everybody done, cancel the thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:04 No, they don't want to do it. Yeah. They just don't want to do it. I think it might be no they don't want to do it yeah yeah they just don't but i think it might be the they don't want to do it that's true but it's only it's a miracle that they get it done but but i think it has something to do with the passengers but i i you know you're right although i have flown some flights on southwest where there was only 50 people on the plane and they still canceled it. The whole plan is, look, they're doing with the beverage service what they did with lemons on an airplane with COVID. They didn't want to do it. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:06:37 And then they just went, oh, well, COVID. They canceled it. That's what they're doing. They don't want to do it. They magically, you go to a hotel now some hotels are like we only make up the room once a week we won't make it up for you
Starting point is 00:06:52 and you go why and they go COVID you know what I mean magically there's a bunch of shit school teachers want to get paid but they don't want to go to work COVID it never goes the other way it never goes the other way school teachers want to get paid, but they don't want to go to work, right? COVID. Do you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:07 Like, it never goes the other way. It never goes the other way. It's never something that's longer, costs more, costs them money. They go, we're doing it this way because of COVID. No, they cancel shit. They knock shit up, and it always favors them.
Starting point is 00:07:21 That's what I'm saying. All right. Sorry, Max Pata. All right. So Drew flies a lot. You fly a lot there. Look, there's a new conspiracy theory amongst us. First off, by the way, speaking of conspiracy theories, people with pronounced psychological entitlement
Starting point is 00:07:39 were more likely to have a heightened belief in conspiracy theories. Entitlement. Interesting. Psychological entitlement. Because you're basically saying, I know more than everybody else. What does psychological entitlement mean? Yeah, I'm trying to interpret. Where did this article come from?
Starting point is 00:07:57 And I'll tell you whether I believe it or not. Sidepost. Hmm. Jewish dude? Psychology. PS5. Oh, side. Yeah. Jewish dude? Psychology. PS5. Oh, side. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:07 Journal of Social Psychology. Hmm. Well, here. Journal of Social Psychology. So, okay. Maybe I'll convict my or indict myself with this statement, but I no longer believe publications, even scientific literature, because of them lying about everything all the time constantly they just got done lying about the trans community for for three years five years
Starting point is 00:08:31 whatever well they went from covid to the trans community in terms of lying you know these are the people that say uh there's third-hand smoke and smoking a cigar is just as dangerous as smoking cigarettes even if you don't inhale. They frequently lie. Now, I wasn't aware of that, but now I know they lie. So I tend not to believe them. But keep going. Psychological entitlement is a personality trait characterized by the enduring belief that one deserves more than others, often irrespective of merit or fairness.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Individuals with a high sense of entitlement typically expect special treatment and further research has suggested a connection between the level of conspiracy theory endorsement and sense of entitlement i i could see that although i'm now down with a lot of conspiracy theories but i don't really have any entitlement all right well well there's a new one and it has to do with flying, kind of. There's a former Boeing employee. He's known for raising concerns about the firm's production standards. He's been saying that they've been fitting substandard parts to aircrafts on the production line.
Starting point is 00:09:41 He's been doing this since, like, 2019. He's been doing this for years. And, yeah, he's talking about all the the parts and he was a quality control guy so he's saying that he's been trying to tell boeing about this and they're going hey it's not really anything so he's been having he's had a long-running legal action against the company and he was actually out of town to um further deal with all this legal stuff and he was found dead in his truck in a hotel parking lot from a quote self-inflicted wound and the internet is a buzz right is this is this you don't need to bring in you know nefar. I mean, this guy's got a long history of depression and irritability and aggression and acting out for the courts. And as you say, he's exactly the kind
Starting point is 00:10:33 of person that could get into this kind of trouble with depression if he doesn't feel heard in that listening. And I've tried everything, you know, with people, that's a grandiosity that when it is pushed down can sometimes go to depression. And I'm thinking about this entitlement. I wonder if the entitlement is really grandiosity and not entitlement, you know, because grandiosity is sort of really more, I think, what they're talking about. I think what they're talking about and you add grandiosity to obfuscation and obscure obscurization, I think is probably a better word of information. Those two things together, because why aren't you telling me the truth? I I'm you know, I know everything. I should see the truth and you're hiding it from me.
Starting point is 00:11:18 OK, now you have paranoia. He did accuse Boeing of denigrating his character and hampering his career because of the issues he pointed out were rejected. Because he's so great. Entitlement. But Boeing has been having issues lately. Their doors are flying off. That was Spirit. That was the company that was putting the doors in and stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Yes, they've had some issues, and they've got to be careful. is in and stuff you know yes they've had some issues and they got to be careful also by the way i don't know if you saw this but a dreamliner which is a great aircraft had a weird mid-flight event where it shook all of a sudden and people flew out of their seats yeah i love flying them anyway there's a uh emmy you can clear the screen um you have to be careful about the movie jaws comes out and then everyone starts reporting shark attacks. You know what I mean? But are they really are they really up or is this just something that happens? You know, when you think about all the countless miles flown every single day of the year, 24-7 commercial airliners
Starting point is 00:12:25 and these very rare incidents of things happening. It's not something to make a meal out of, but I will say that I do agree with the DEI people or the anti-DEI people when the head of American Airlines says, by the year 2026, it's going to be 50% minority and 50% women pilots. I don't want you to make these declarations. If this is a direction you would like to head organically, and it will go there organically and and it will go there organically when drew was a young lad flying out to visit
Starting point is 00:13:08 colleges in 1977 uh 75 yeah pretty good 75 75 uh 96 of pilots were male, you know? Maybe more. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I said 96%. It could be more, more. I just never saw a female pilot. You never saw a female pilot. Okay. Now you frequently see female pilots. All right?
Starting point is 00:13:36 That's a natural, that's a thing that's going to naturally occur. And you're going to see it with Hispanic and black and whatever. You're just going to see, it's going to naturally go that direction. My problem. And you would have naturally seen a woman of color as vice president. You would have naturally seen that eventually. The problem is, is you go, we need one right now. And then you go, okay, let's get this dipshit.
Starting point is 00:14:04 And then she comes in and she's horrible. That's, and the plane crashes. That's, that's the problem. If you just let it kind of evolve, it'll evolve. And there's also a thing where it's like,
Starting point is 00:14:16 I don't know. Hispanics may not be attracted to being airplane, airline pilots. That's fine. They may want to do other things. That's okay. By the way, I wouldn't you be in favor though of saying,
Starting point is 00:14:24 Hey, let's go encourage that community to consider careers and get get the really. I think if there's some, you know, I think whether it's flying an airplane or doing computer coding, if there's some group that's never heard of it or doesn't have any avenue toward it or it just doesn't exist for them, then certainly, you know, like a recruiter for the Army shows up into certain schools and goes, hey, here's what we can offer you. But let's not lower the standards to get those people in. Well, this is all an attack, Adam, on Vice President Harris. That's right. All right. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:14:57 So speaking of publications that we may or may not trust, Deadspin was in the news this week. That's the one that we were telling you about the other day. Yeah. You remember Deadspin? What did I call it? You said, oh, shit. It didn't occur to me. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:16 You said, well, you know. Well, Deadspin, just a reminder, they most recently went viral after they talked about that nine-year-old Kansas City Chiefs fan for wearing blackface when he was really wearing the native headdress. And also in 2021, they referred to Sage Steele, former ESPN host, as, quote, the black Candace Owens, which I thought was good. Yeah. Well, they have been sold. which I thought was good.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Well, they have been sold. So they were informed that they were approached by, or the CEO was approached by the European firm Lineup Publishing, and they offered to buy Deadspin. And after careful consideration, they accepted the offer. They did make it clear they were not actively shopping Deadspin, but Deadspin's new owners have made the decision to not carry over any of the site's existing staff and instead build a new team more in line with their editorial vision for the break.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Good. Fuck y'all, as Kamala Harris would say. Yes. Good. Listen, lie and impugn people's character and especially when they're youth and uh man you can make lawyers can make such a fucking meal over whether you've of you fucking over youth because it's all earning potential you know and uh you you do you can impugn an 85-year-old guy's character, and there's just not a lot of earning years left. But when you're 15 or 9 or 17, there's a lot of earning years.
Starting point is 00:16:52 Oh, yeah. And lawyers are real good at arguing about how this is going to impact your life. And then you can get paid. And that's where we're at. So, good. Fuck Deadspin. I mean, Deadspin did apologize. They said we regret any decision for attacking the fan and his at. So good. Fuck Deadspin. I mean, Deadspin did apologize for all that.
Starting point is 00:17:08 They said we regret any decision for attacking the fan and his family. Not initially. Yeah, they should be falling on their sword. Where did they publish that? Somewhere downstream on their website? Well, they said to that end, our story was updated, and they removed any photos and tweets and otherwise identifying information about the fan, and they revised the headline.
Starting point is 00:17:24 But too little, too late. What is the headline? And what about the doubling down that guy did, saying that, okay, well, he's actually racist against Native Americans? Right. The headline was, the NFL needs to speak out against the Kansas City Chiefs fan in blackface and Native address.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And then later on, even when it was presented to him, he still doubled down. Yeah, he did on Twitter. There you go. All right, we're good now. He needs a down. Yeah, he did on Twitter. There you go. All right, we're good. Now he needs a job. He needs a job for that. They should be on an apology tour.
Starting point is 00:17:49 He's going to be out of a job. All right. Well, he can team up with Don Lemon and that can blow everyone away. Where is Don Lemon? Did he start yet? Not yet. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:18:02 We're not going to know it. We're not going to know when it starts or when it ends. I think we will know, and I think he will go on Tucker's show. Fine. He's just a 10-cent head, so he's got nothing to say. The Dollar Lemon Show kicks off on Monday. On Monday!
Starting point is 00:18:18 There it is. Where do you find it? He'll make a couple headlines for a couple of days, and then that'll be, that'll be it. And Cuomo was just on Tucker too. And he had some issues with him, I guess.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Do you see that? I talked to Cuomo about it the other day, but I did not see the, the, how do you feel about it? I didn't see, uh, Cuomo's kind of,
Starting point is 00:18:43 he has a little blowhard dude in him which is kind of okay I kind of like those guys they're kind of dudes you know bros we get along well and I haven't seen I haven't seen the interview yet
Starting point is 00:18:59 so I can report back to you do you think he's open minded he has become he has become yeah that way uh cuomo yeah well i i think there's i think there's probably you know there's like probably three stratas of open-mindedness and they're not they're not all really that open-minded. There's, you know, there's open-minded where you work for Pepsi-Cola, but you enjoy Coca-Cola, but you can't really say anything at work. You know, you can't walk in holding a Pepsi. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:19:39 So there's that version, but that's kind of a natural thing. You know what I mean? Like, hey, that's a natural thing. You know what I mean? Like, hey, that's where you work. You know what I mean? Like, you work at CNN. You really want to start getting into Fauci and what's wrong with Fauci or the vaccines. You work at Coca-Cola.
Starting point is 00:19:55 You prefer Pepsi, but you're going to walk in wearing a Pepsi windbreaker? Like, no, no, you keep your job. And then there's a kind of an open-minded second strata, which is, yeah, you'll go out and drink a Pepsi. And even if your boss comes into the restaurant and sees you're drinking a Pepsi, it's still okay with you or whatever. Because, hey, you like it and you'll tell people that. And then there's a third one where you just are nuts about Pepsi. And you'll lie about Coke.
Starting point is 00:20:26 And there's a third one. Chris Cuomo is sort of in the middle. You know what I mean? Like, he'll go do his job at CNN. And we'll go all the way through COVID without him asking a question. But when you get him out of there, you'll probably see a closer version of who he is he is now i don't know that you would see that with rachel maddow you know i mean that you probably would see the same rachel maddow if she left msnbc right yeah i think so and and to be fair chris a little angry too when he left i
Starting point is 00:20:59 think and that's a little bit of motivation there with that but yeah chip on his shoulder um so there's a new sexuality taking the world by storm oh robo sexuality i mean i'm sure you can figure out what that is so um yeah it's just it's a robot in saudi arabia felt up a chick i saw that yeah i just what there's this There's this first male robot. It looks like a human male. They were doing a news report on it, and the robot touched the woman's butt. Grabbed her in the ass. Wow.
Starting point is 00:21:34 I didn't see that. It was good. It was really good. Yeah, he's getting beat, too. And she behaved like, I'm going to report you. What are you going to do? Oh, they're making male robots too what what's the male i i figured the market would be female robots yeah saudi arabia
Starting point is 00:21:54 oh yeah we'll show you how do you make a female robot in saudi arabia oh how do you make a female romance you know what i mean i mean the whole their feelings about women is so complicated you know what i mean here it is this is it yeah okay so there's the robot and just like there's a female there in the distant female robot but oh okay but what do they claim these robots are for i don't i don't know if these ones are sex robots yeah you're saying sex but you're these two with these two they I mean, they were sex. They think we're sex humans. By the way, he's touching her, touching that reporter.
Starting point is 00:22:30 So, yeah, RoboSexuality engaging in sexual relations with robots. And so there's research now saying that there's a surge in human-robot interaction, and it sparked a curiosity about the nature and depth of relationships humans can form with robots and they're saying that um that their gender norms and men who have negative and antagonistic attitudes towards women demonstrate a much greater interest in robosexuality makes sense yeah you know You know why they piss at women? Because they've been rejected their whole lives. Those are the guys that get that way.
Starting point is 00:23:08 And like my friend, he showed me chat GPT. Now there's a voice one where I basically just am on the phone with AI. And I talked to this, and it was a female voice. I talked to her for about three minutes. And she was responding immediately. There was concern in her voice. It's like she cared. I felt like I made a new friend.
Starting point is 00:23:28 It was crazy how good it was. So to me, this is a really interesting zone, which is the zone of how much in our close relationships is actually created in our own head. How much do we project onto other people? How much do we interpret in our own way about other people? And there's a lot of distortion goes on in close relationships. We, you know, really, it's only a certain amount of stuff coming at us. And then everything else is manufactured by our brain. Yeah, it's a good point.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Women especially read everything into everything you know all the time that's little to do with you and much much more to do with them of creation um and then also it it's it's part of a bigger problem which is a kind of a drifting toward a sort of reality abyss, you know? And so we're already, see, I think people go, well, what's the problem with genders and Latinx and, you know, male or female or identifies or he, they, or Z or whatever, whatever, you know, a male or female or identifies or he, they, or Z or whatever, whatever,
Starting point is 00:24:47 you know, pronouns. And I go, what's wrong with giving your pronouns or whatever. It's all a move toward a sort of, of, of, of abyss of, of chaos or not.
Starting point is 00:24:59 I don't mean really even chaos. I just mean, it's like nothing means anything anymore. There is no reality. There's no reality. So what I've said when people go, well, what do you care about this gender stuff? He, she, they, he identifies as she or they. I go, because once you do that, then you can do anything.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Because once you can convince that a man is a woman a woman is a man or a man or women should be called birthing people or lactating people or men can breastfeed or like whatever once you do that every single thing is on the table in terms of questioning that is the base it's the bottom line it's the it's the gateway the foundation of humanity is man and woman and that's not a North American thing that's global this is the base
Starting point is 00:25:53 if you can rock the base if you can put question marks around the base if you can make us argue about what the foundation is the slab, the base the ground floor the ground floor for humanity. If we can argue about that, then everything is on the table. And if you've noticed lately, like the last few years, we've been arguing over two and two equals five.
Starting point is 00:26:19 Like we've been having nutty, cuckoo, insane arguments. Nutty, cuckoo, insane arguments. People, they're wearing a mask alone while they're driving their car, even though masks don't work. And they've been told masks don't work, but they're doing it. We've been arguing over totally batshit crazy things. And then you mix in a total lack of religion, religion on the decline. Then you mix in a bunch of fucking edibles. A lot of edibles and a lot of like pharmaceuticals and like micro dosing and shit like
Starting point is 00:26:51 that like everyone's on a shitload of caffeine or shitload of mushrooms or shitload of micro dosing this or whatever and then you get into sort of ai and you get into these goggles and you know reality whatever and then you movies like avatar and shit like that and it's now just sort of on and there is no real there's not going to be any real distinction between what a relationship is with a human what it is with a fucking robot everyone's going to be having their own relationship with themselves and their vr goggles that's going to be it. That's where we're going. I assume there's some people that are going to profit from this,
Starting point is 00:27:33 and that's where this is heading. But we are going down this path. And it started with us not winning arguments that we should have won years ago that were insane it's all it's but it's all in the mix you know what i mean a covet is in the mix all the trans shit is in the mix this this thing where you know the la times has a report on some guy who walked into a bathroom and exposed his penis except for he goes by she so then they go she walked into a bathroom and exposed his penis, except for he goes by she. So then they go, she walked into the bathroom, she exposed her penis, and then she used her penis to violate the nine-year-old. And it's like, are you guys fucking nuts?
Starting point is 00:28:16 You're nuts. I can't even, by the way, most of the trans stories I'm completely lost in because they go, Irv, uh, Irv Johnson, uh,
Starting point is 00:28:30 she walked into the gas station and then she pulled out her nutsack and then she dunked her nutsack and the patrons coffee. And then a fight broke out and it's like, okay, I don't know what this is. I was thinking worse than they use they, and I'm like, there's more.
Starting point is 00:28:43 There's three of them? And then they pulled out their nutsack. So Herb Johnson pulled out her nutsack and then their nutsack. And it's like, okay, I don't know what you're saying. I'm totally lost. I can't figure any of it out. And as many times as someone tries to report to me this story, they go, no, it's a biological man who transitioned into a woman. But he's not fully transitioned.
Starting point is 00:29:11 But he still has his male genitalia. But he goes by she and they and er. And then so er and they went into the liquor store. And then er and Z pulled out her nutsack. And then I go, wait, wait, wait. How many people are in this liquor store? And then at some point I go, fuck it, whatever.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Godspeed to Herb. Herb Godspeed. Yeah, just Godspeed. I don't want to know anymore. Alright, that's what they've done to us. Right? And then we're all supposed to sit here and pretend like if we don't know it, it's equivalent to not knowing the
