Starting point is 00:01:26 It's going on. Yeah, buddy. It's happening. So, you know, I get to think about these various cities as I travel around that I notice that Mayor Bass is on the rampage right now saying that President Trump is using the National Guard strictly to go after black and brown young people in terms of his campaign to make Washington, D.C. safer. Oh, in D.C. in D.C.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Yeah. And I thought that logic is so weird. so if it and then i thought maybe that's why we have such crime problem because if it's being perpetrated by somebody whose skin is not white you're not allowed to go after it is that is that the logic well their logic is as i say to you constantly drew constantly it's a retarded reverse engineering and it's like if there's too many students of Asian descent at UCLA, then the way to fix it would be to take out the Asians and install black and brown kids, right? And the way to fix it is to ask a, first, the question
Starting point is 00:02:42 that I asked of Gavin Newsom for 45 minutes, what's going on with black and brown people that they're not able to get savings accounts or checking accounts, what's going on. Right. Now, he spoke to me for 20 minutes with he presented a problem okay the problem he presented and I'm not trying to bring it back to me or Newsom but there's a problem
Starting point is 00:03:07 that's presented why are so many young black men being arrested why are there too many Asians at UCLA and not enough representation with the Hispanic young men
Starting point is 00:03:22 why in California are black and brown people not having access to checking accounts, according to Gavin Newsom many years ago, 50 percent, up to 50 percent. Okay, okay, that's the problem. That's the problem. Okay, I just did a car race and, you know, you have to look after your own car, and if there wasn't enough air in my car tires, then that would be the problem. and I would have to say to myself, why is there not enough air in my car tires?
Starting point is 00:03:58 The answer wouldn't be go find guys whose tires were properly inflated and yell at them or see if I could get some air from them. Do you know what I mean? Or yell at, you know, pit crews or marshals or track officials because it was unfair that I didn't have enough air. There's a problem. All right. Too many Asians and not enough Hispanics at UCLA. Okay, there's the problem.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Too many blacks being arrested, black and Hispanic, no access to checking accounts. Okay. Okay, now, now, okay, there's the problem. Now, the problem part I don't have any problem with. I mean, Gavin Newsom's lying when he says 50% don't have access. Everyone has access in this modern world to a checking account. Right. Let's just sign off on his lie, but we'll go along with it. Okay, not enough. Would you like to see more Hispanic? You know, Los Angeles is 50% Hispanic, but the University of California at Los Angeles is 7% Hispanic. You know, okay, that campus right in the middle of Los Angeles is not representing the population of Los Angeles. I don't care personally because when I drive around and I see all the trades and I see all the guys working and the guys making good money and operating equipment and building and so on and so forth, I don't see any Asians in that group.
Starting point is 00:05:39 That's okay with me. These guys make a good living and they have a good life. That's fine with me. So I don't really need it to be represented, but let's just say we did need it to be represented. Okay. So how would you solve it? Well, first of all, what's the problem? Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Is there some sort of discrimination going on? Are they just letting in Asians over Hispanics? I mean, we would need to know that, wouldn't we? Yep. So what's going on with the admissions board? What are they comprised of? Are there, is it all Asian? Must be all Asians.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Must be all Asians. It must be all Asians because they're, yeah, must be. Right. Well, it turns out I'm sure there's more Hispanics on the board than there are Asians. I'm going to, I'm just going to say in general when you look at the legislature, legislators or city council or whatever you're looking at in Los Angeles, there's far more Hispanic representation than Asian. Yeah. For the simple reason that Asians don't care and they just want to get on and be a. They don't need the false dream of someone who looks like me making bad decisions on my behalf and doing nothing for my life.
Starting point is 00:06:54 But okay. So I would look at the board and I would say, okay, what's going on here? And I first noticed that were no Asians on the board and there were more Hispanics. And then I would blacks too. And I would go, women too. And I'd go, what are you guys doing? Are you discriminating? And then they would go, now we're just looking at SAT scores.
Starting point is 00:07:13 and grade point averages and things like that. And I'd go, well, can you fudge it a little bit? You know, let's just say an Asian got a 1,500 on their SATs, and Hispanic got 1480. Couldn't we just let the Hispanic in over the Asian? And they'd go, oh, we're already doing that. I'd go, oh, what else are you doing? Like, what if an Asian had a 4.2 GPA, but the Hispanic had a 3.9?
Starting point is 00:07:47 Could we let the Hispanic guy in over the Asian? They'd go, yeah, we're already doing it. I'd go, but I don't get it. What's going on? And then they'd say, well, there's just not enough qualified or even slightly underqualified Hispanics showing up at UCLA. And then I would go, what's going on? Why?
Starting point is 00:08:08 Now, it's at that point that Gavin Newsom says, I have no idea. just is and then argues for 45 minutes literally providing the answer of verbatim it just is it just is right which by the way it's like saying why wasn't there any water in the aqueducts when the big fire broke out eight months it just it just is right it just is because there's no water there's no water in this no water in the sister that's why it is no water okay because there's no water newsom's answer to me for 40 minutes was it just is, which is an answer that would be fine for a guy who drives an ice cream truck, but not someone who's in a position of power, because that's, that's no good. Because just is doesn't fill that aqueduct, does it?
Starting point is 00:09:01 So he's inept. Now, what he is is he's lying because what he doesn't want to say is the Hispanics family don't put an emphasis on education like the Asian family. does and that would that would get him into trouble for speaking the truth about that subject and so he would never say that so he constantly just he toggled between it just is and everyone is suffering which is a I'm looking at the demographics at you at UCLA it's 30% Asian 25% white 20 25% Hispanic the the faculty they and they won't give you information on the admissions committee the faculty is 63% white, 20% Asian, 6% Hispanic.
Starting point is 00:09:47 So they have a problem with their faculty. Oh, they need to fix that. Well, you know what I call that? I call that problematic, Drew. That's what I call it. So we have a little fundamental problem, which is if black people and brown people are responsible for the lion's share of the crime, then they shall be arrested.
Starting point is 00:10:10 and numbers that represent that. So then it would be these guys are arresting young black men. That's the problem. Now we have to figure out in D.C. are the cops who's running the police department or who is in charge of D.C. And the last I checked, they always have a black female mayor and a black female police chief. So are they, in fact, discriminating against their own, or is this a National Guard thing? But let's just say... Or is this why they won't go after crime?
Starting point is 00:10:54 Yes. They refuse to do it. Well, let's just say the National Guard, let's just say there's some 15-year-old kid and he's just walking down the street and he's black and he's in D.C. First off, why does it behoove the National Guard to grab that? kid who's walking to school with no criminal history no weapons on them and and throw them somewhere. Why does that behoove them? You know, what's in it for them? What's in it for ICE to arrest the wrong guy and take them to alligator alley or whatever? What is what is in it for them? And the answer is nothing. Nothing. This is again the human motivation piece that's left
Starting point is 00:11:34 out of every conversation. Right. Now they go, well, it's because they're racist. Well, who's racist? The 23-year-old National Guard guy, that guy from Indiana, who may be black or Hispanic himself? Why would it be a National Guard if you weren't racist? He went there just remember that whole argument? Right, right. So, and why would it be more dangerous to walk around if there's a strong police presence? And, yeah, listen, PCH in Malibu is literally.
Starting point is 00:12:09 crawling with cops right now because of the fires and because of speeding and because of potential for looting and what have you. It's just lousy with cops. And guess what? I've never seen more people drive 25 miles an hour down PCH in my life. They're all going 20. They post the speed limit in the construction zone. The speed limit posted is 25. There's just a long procession of 30-mile-an-hour cars just crawling down PCH in perpetuity. Why? Well, they got the message. There's a lot of cops.
Starting point is 00:12:53 Yeah. And they don't want to get pulled over it. Now, are the cops pulling over people that are going 25 miles an hour? No, they're not. No. Why not? Well, there's nothing in it for them. There's nothing in it for them.
Starting point is 00:13:07 So they don't do it. They don't care what color you are or what kind of car you drive. They pull you over when you hit, eh, 40, 35 or 40. Yeah. Now, I've never felt safer in a neighborhood in my life going out if you go out for a walk at night because it's literally just cops all over the place. So now, I'm a white male, so, you know, what do I have? I, you know, but the cops aren't hunting me down, except for the cops are predominantly, Hispanic and black as well.
Starting point is 00:13:40 So again, it's a math that never really works out. Now, I don't know if they believe their math. You know what I mean? Like every time you turn on MSNBC and you have one of those dumbballed black chicks and somebody's saying, well, what's wrong with more police presence? Doesn't that make it safer? I'm a black woman living in the United States who works for MSNBC and is married to a guy as a, you know, investment banker.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Is that, oh, okay, well, let's check. How many times have you been detained, rounded up, or disappeared? Is this a frequent thing? Once the last time you spent the night in jail? You know what I mean? Like, well, let's dig into this. Well, okay, what's it like? What's it like when you go out for dinner in D.C.?
Starting point is 00:14:27 Are you allowed to go out to dinner and eat and then have a drink and come back, take an Uber back to your apartment? Is that something you can do? or tell me about it? I'm curious. What is it like to be a black woman living in the United States in 2025? Somebody needs to ask her that. Well, you brought it up or she brought it up. Give me the details now.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Tell me. Well, this is the thing that nobody ever does, the follow-up question, the data. Like, okay, just what is it we're talking about? Tell me exactly what we're talking about here. So we're not just talking about feelings again. Well, I'm overwhelmed that this race hustle has been able to carry on into the, you know, 2025s. I'm astounded at it.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I've been yelling about it for 25 years. I think people are starting to catch on a little with the, whatever the race hustle is. Finally, it's mainly scared people. And Drew, you could count yourself amongst the scared. several years ago. 100%. Let me tell you what's in the fear is guilt. There's a collective guilt.
Starting point is 00:15:41 You feel bad about it. Maybe it's not even guilt. It's just feel bad. No, no, no, no. Self preservation. It's not guilt. You don't want to get judged. You'll get called out.
Starting point is 00:15:53 Or you would. I mean, maybe not anymore. Listen, there's an issue with the black family. How long ago did I say that, Drew? 20 years ago? 20 years ago would have been 2005. Isn't that around when you started talking about this? I don't remember you in the 90s talking about it.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Maybe you did. True, you know what I used to say about your kids when there were five? We don't have to worry about my kids. Right. Why? Because they have our families together and involve their education. Right. Family and education.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Right. And then it went to the black community right after that. Yes. Okay. That's always always. I'm, I'm, I got more, I got more like 30 years on this subject. Could be. No, not could be, Drew. Well, in my, my, I didn't say black, black, black, black. I said the problem with the communities that are failing is that dads aren't there. Yes. Dads aren't there and the families aren't there. You would just say. And then de facto, that means black. No, no, no, no. You know what you would say? I'm going to, I'm going to push back and say, here's what you would say. Screwed up people all having screwed up kids. You would say, you would say that. that over and over and over that's what that was your mantra yes that was true that is very true
Starting point is 00:17:09 fucked up that's what i remember having kids should stop and that's that's that's an that's an overall arching bodes true for any color any race any creed like diet and exercise yes but the group that is statistically doing more of it is the one i would single out and say needs to stop uh there's plenty of broken up Asian families. It's just statistically it's much lesser than the black community. So I've been saying this for 30 fucking years.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And no one wants to go near it. Well, that's what you heard Gavin Newsom doing. He brings up, because you think about it, he brings up black and he brings up Hispanic, he brought it up. And then I asked him for 20 minutes what the problem was and he
Starting point is 00:17:59 wouldn't go near it. Right? So that's what you're dealing with. classic newsome this is a classic news and by the way Trump doesn't bring it up either yep he just goes we got thugs out there I mean he kind of speaks in code but look if you want to know the question isn't what's going on with the police departments or what's going on with the street takeovers in Los Angeles or what's going on with the 13 year old gangbanger shooting somebody in the middle of the night or whatever that the question is what happened to the family. What is going on with the African-American family? What's going on? That's the only
Starting point is 00:18:37 question need to be asked. That's the only question that's never asked anywhere. And Al Sharpton is not bringing it up. Trump's not bringing it up. And Gavin Newsom sure's fuck not bringing it up. So a classic Newsom. And Karen Bass is not bringing any of that shit up either. She just wants I don't know, but what is her plan? Just stand down cops and let you do understand. Karen Bass presides over Los Angeles. Los Angeles. Los Angeles. has full street takeovers across the street from the staple center at three in the morning that draws 2,000 people while they do donuts in the middle street and run people over.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Well, that's what happens when the cops stand down. Mm-hmm. Right? Mm-hmm. Okay. So maybe that shouldn't be the plan. So classic Newsom just on social media. He comes out and goes,
Starting point is 00:19:29 I don't know what Trump is talking about. eight out of 10 of the top state murder rates are in red states, right? Which he was right. That is true. Right. But of course, when you go and then look at what the cities are with the top 10, nine out of 10 are Democrat and the only one that's not Democrat just switched to Republican six months ago and it's on its way down.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Yeah, it's all the cities that are Democrat run. Correct. So, hold on, hold on, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. We'll take a quick break. Starting point is 00:21:42 Pluto TV, stream now, pay never. All right, Drew, sorry. Classic manipulation. Just saying it's such a classic Newsom manipulation. He was like, I don't know what they're talking about. Like, as though he doesn't know what he's taught, you know, he doesn't know the bullshit he's. spewing. It's really, it's really wild to see him do that. Well, all he has is manipulation of numbers and statistics and workarounds. That's all he really, he really has. He doesn't really have, you know, when you don't have the truth, that's, that's about all. That's about all you got, you know what I mean? But it's, it's, it's interesting that he's going to go, you know, sort of
Starting point is 00:22:28 try this on the world stage now and uh i mean we'll see it we'll see if people are if the word is dumb enough but something enough to to to buy into that all right let's see what we got here well we um we actually have a clip from an old love line show uh there's there's we've been urged to kind of i don't know how popular classic love line is is. But I literally have been stopped literally like in the street a couple times with people expressing the younger people, people who are not around in the 90s, expressing their enthusiasm, which is the kind of the sort of really into it. So we have a clip to play? We do. And I'm not finding the, do you have the lead into that? I have one that says Adam talks about
Starting point is 00:23:28 his uncle goby yes asking asking everyone at the dinner table who speaks more on loveline adam or drew welcome love line with adam carola family yeah they were so involved with you i mean oh oh phenomenal even now i was just thinking about i was just thinking about that uh was i know i was saying it but uh it was funny my uh uncle uh goby Uncle Gabby. Again, he's not my real uncle, but he was called my uncle, so he wouldn't let's the name. And he heard the TV show, and he said to my grandma, Dr. Drew, he does all the talking.
Starting point is 00:24:11 And my grandma says, I don't think Dr. Drew does all the talking. And she says to me, you think Dr. Drew does all the talking? And I said, no. And then my mom comes walking into the kitchen, and she says, Chris, you think, what do you think does more talking? Adam or Drew? And my mom goes, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:35 And I thought, come on, baby, can't you rally just once? Just once. I won't tell Drew. Give me a worst case scenario here. You know what I mean? Somehow it leaks out that Drew catches wind that Adam's mom said he talked more than Drew did.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Oh, big feud. Oh, all hell breaks loose. Just once. Just give me like, that's my son. he's the host and he talks more damn it and anyone who questions that I'm fighting with let's get on the line four here
Starting point is 00:25:02 oh for Christ's sake all right more ever say yeah by the way as that a question was being presented to my mom I was sitting there thinking what's her answer going to be and then I stopped myself
Starting point is 00:25:13 and I went oh no answer she would never she would never answer she wouldn't answer any question ever which is a weird that's how that's a strange default setting for her mom What's passive aggressive?
Starting point is 00:25:26 I think it's passive aggressive, right? I mean, you could say how much did that purse cost? She just go, oh, I don't remember. You know, who talks more on the show? Adam Joe, I couldn't tell. Yeah, I mean, I asked her how much my stepdad made a year after I was rich. She was like, I can't tell you. You're right.
Starting point is 00:25:44 No, 100% right, passive aggressive. Everything was like sort of fuck you. And it was always kind of fuck you for coming to me for, something, which is a weird setting. You know, for a mom, it's a weird setting to be it. You know what I mean? Like, because you and I talk about this all time and it's not a grandiosity. If one of my kids comes to me and says something, like, hey, here's what I want to do.
Starting point is 00:26:13 I start running in circles trying to figure out how to accommodate them. You know what I mean? Like really bending over backwards. How can we make this work? You know what I'm saying? Yes. but but they embedded in that little discourse of the old love line days there's some shocking facts your grandmother and your mother watched the show no no no how do they how did they even get
Starting point is 00:26:36 into the conversation about who talked more if they hadn't seen it my first things first do you think my mother or my grandmother paid for basic cable no okay so they have no they would have no idea. Yeah. And there was no YouTube. There was no nothing like that back then. You had to watch it on MTV. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:57 So they would have no idea. Yeah. That could have been translated into the radio somewhere in there, but they would have never listened. But they could have, they've obviously free access to the radio, but they would have never listened to the radio. I think Gabi was sort of asking, Gabi may have been asking the question, assuming they had some support for their job at cable or something.
Starting point is 00:27:26 But no, they would have no, neither one would have any idea. My, my, yeah, they were, at my grandfather's funeral, I forgot, I haven't told me this one a million years, but at my grandfather's funeral, one of my grandmother's old friends, you know, she's probably 85 at the time, Hank Gale, she, uh, she was explained. to me that she turned on the TV and Love Line was on. And I was just talking about Fecal Matter for like for 20 minutes straight, you know. And I said, I really wasn't. I really wasn't.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And she said, oh, yes. Yes, you were. Yes, you were. And I just said, I wasn't. I wasn't. And she's like, yes, that's all you did. That's all you did. It was a way.
Starting point is 00:28:13 It's also very strange the way people communicate, you know, with each other. in a way that I find super bizarre because I don't think people think of me that way. But if someone comes to me with a really shitty haircut and goes, what do you think? I go, oh, it makes you look distinguished, you know? And they go, I don't know. I don't like it. And I'd go, well, you'll, it's just because you're not used to it. You'll like it.
Starting point is 00:28:46 And then they go, I think it's a horrible haircut. And then I would go, yeah, I know. But it'll grow out fast. It'll grow out fast. Like, I'm always in that mode. You know what I mean? I never go, huh? What?
Starting point is 00:28:57 Ugh. You know what I mean? Which people do constantly. But you're also the same guy that when somebody comes up with a shitty statement, like, why are you always such an asshole of the callers? Get out of here. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:11 No, I am because I don't appreciate the sentiment. I don't appreciate what's driving that. See, to me. I realized as I got out of the car, as I got out of the car yesterday and saw that my girlfriend's assistant was blocking the driveway for a second straight go-round, I was livid. And I was like, why are you so angry? She literally just parked in front of the driveway sideways. Like on a street that's wide open.
Starting point is 00:29:48 You can park anywhere. You park anywhere. It's just parked that way. And that time before, she just parked dead center in the middle of the driveway, so I couldn't pull up to the right or to the left. And I realized, like, why am I so angry? This is a nothing burger. Why am I so angry?
Starting point is 00:30:05 And then I realize, for me, everything is symbolism. Everything. Everything is symbolism. And I will. That same person, I could hand them a Faberger egg. and say, bring this upstairs and send it very carefully on the bureau, and I could hear it fall and drop on the staircase and shatter into a million pieces. And if I walked up and she said, oh, my God, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:30:33 It slipped out of my hand. I would say nothing, nothing. So why am I pissed about the thing? Because you're the assistant and you're blocking the guy who owns the house's driveway because you just chose to just literally just park your car sideways in front of the driveway. And by the way, it's six in the evening now. It's like, I'm coming home. I've been coming home.
Starting point is 00:30:58 We already went through this before, and it's a wide open street. So why am I livid? I'm not livid because you have to move your car and I can't pull in my driveway. I'm livid at the symbolism of it, right? And that's what I am with everybody. I don't care about this and I don't care about that. and I never care about mistakes, ever. I care about the symbolism of everything.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Do you know what I mean? The meaning, yeah. The meaning. What? And people go, I forgot. I wasn't thinking. And it's like, yeah, you weren't thinking about any. It lets me know where you're at, is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Natalie, I'm just thinking to myself about the shitty sentiments that have come our way over the years. Remember that one chick that the guy was like, hey, this one girl needs to meet with you before you out on stage. It just has to me. She's dying to meet you guys. She comes in there and she goes, do you think the world is a better place
Starting point is 00:31:54 because you guys are doing this show or something of that nature? She dug into both of us. Yeah. And you're like, get the fuck out of here. And we should have known, though, at that moment, that was probably 1998 or something where we were headed, you know?
Starting point is 00:32:09 Yeah. Yeah. That should have been a clue to us where things were going. I sort of, also it's a weird, the whole thing is weird. The whole thing is like the person from the student council is like, hey, this 19 year old chick needs to come in here and settle your hash now, you know, basically needs to come in and talk to you now. And we're like, we're getting ready to go on stage or maybe it's just after we're on stage and we're doing a meet and greed. But whatever it is, this 19 year old angry chick needs exclusive access to you now.
Starting point is 00:32:41 So I'm going to go get her and escort her backstage and let her yell at you. it made it seem like those who's the person yeah where's the protocol like who even decided that's a good idea to have angry Nancy at 19 come back and yell it at him and dr. Drew before they went out on stage but he he made it seem like she was a fan and was dying to meet you yeah to be fair like they didn't they didn't know how much vitriol but it was clear the person wasn't a fan and when I get a whiff of that I just tell everyone to fuck off Yes, you do. Immediately, because why am I investing time trying?
Starting point is 00:33:20 You, you always would try to turn them around somehow. And I was like, fuck off. You told me, like, don't wait, stop talking to her or stop talking. Just get out of here. No, but I had to reteach you that lesson like eight years ago, right? How do we deal with these? How do we explain to them that we really, we love our children? We're not racist.
Starting point is 00:33:39 I don't want my children to die of COVID. I love my child. It's like, fuck off. Fuck off. Just fuck off. Because, by the way, they don't care. They don't want what they say they want. That's my point.
