The Adam and Dr. Drew Show - #2099 - Cultural Diversity Is the Best Diversity | Part 1

Episode Date: August 12, 2026

Adam and Dr. Drew open the show by discussing what’s really behind massive wildfires, the role climate change plays, and why it so often becomes the default explanation for environmental di...sasters. Adam also vents about a habit he sees in younger politicians before the two get into cultural diversity, money management, and why people sometimes spend the most on things they need the least.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Starting point is 00:00:00 recorded live at Corolla 1 Studios with Adam Carolla and board certified physician and addiction medicine specialist Dr. Drew Pinsky. You're listening to The Adam and Dr. Drew Show. Yeah, get it on, got to get it on. The trust, we've got to mend, get it on. Dr.'s Board of Service District Specialist. He's in Hawaii, everybody. He's there for Kennedy's wedding.
Starting point is 00:00:28 and that sounds good coming to us from his hotel room, yes? And yeah, and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to announce whose wedding it is, but let's hear it here first. Why not? Yeah, I don't. Well, I don't. Kennedy, I don't, I shouldn't tell me this nuts anything, but anyway. That's true. That's true.
Starting point is 00:00:50 So that sounds wonderful. I put you on the phone with her yesterday. What did you guys talk about? She walked away while she was talking to you. No, after she talked to me, she walked away. Oh, yeah. Right? Or would she walk away when she was talking to me?
Starting point is 00:01:05 She walked away with my phone. Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Oh, I didn't get that part. Kenny's a very smart, interesting person. I've known her for a million years. Lots of great opinions. And even though I hate women, I just made exception for her because I like her.
Starting point is 00:01:23 We end up talking about things like she's trying to rebuild her. Palisades home and her home was not burnt to the ground, but it was severely impaired. And it's got all kinds of problems because of all the, I don't know, heavy metals and whatever. So it's all about remediation and building and fixing. You know, Adam, I talked, she had people at the, we had the rehearsal dinner last night. And she had people there that were from her neighborhood in the Palisades who had completely lost their homes.
Starting point is 00:01:56 and a couple things, one of the things one of the women said caught my ear, she went, you know, the people I really feel bad for are not the ones that lost their home. You know, we went through 18 months of trying, trying, trying, and then giving up. But the people who still have their homes are embroiled in lawsuits and insurance companies. And it just goes on. It never ends. So what do you mean they went through 18 months and then they gave up? You mean they sold their lot? Or what do you mean? They just, yeah, they either sold.
Starting point is 00:02:26 They stopped attempting to rebuild and just took their action. Yeah. Oh, so yeah, they just, well, they just said we're not rebuilding. We're just selling and cutting bait. That's what this particular person did. Right, exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:41 You know, it's so funny. Every time there's a huge fire, the left, and, you know, I mean, Gavin Newsom or whoever, the governor of, you know, Oregon. or whatever, Washington. It's always like climate change. They call it natural disasters and stuff. And it's like, and then it always turns out some leftist white ideological nut job
Starting point is 00:03:05 started the fire as an arsonist, you know? And it's sort of like, it's, you could set your watch on it. But people don't know that. At least in Southern California, that's how it works. Well, I mean, look, let's just really try to figure out what it is they're saying. Because they say a lot of stuff. The devastating fires and climate change is right up there with the homeless being unhoused neighbors.
Starting point is 00:03:37 You know, these are junkies with mental issues. Unless we can identify these things, I don't know how we can prevent them. The climate change is basically you just saying force majeure, just act of God. I cannot be held responsible for this, whatever this is. It can't be me. If I am the captain of the Exxon Valdez and I run my ship because I'm drunk under the rocky shoals and millions of gallons of crude leak out, then that's on me. But if I'm just sober and I'm shippering my ship and lightning hits the hole and blows a hole in it, then that's really not on me. That's act of God.
Starting point is 00:04:24 What are you going to do? So nobody wants to be the drunken captain up up in the wheelhouse, right? We all want to just go, I was doing my job dutifully, and the lightning bolt hit the hole, and that's why the Pugent Sound is destroyed or whatever it was. Okay. Obviously, when your governor and your state burns down, you don't want to go, well, that's because we didn't prepare properly. So they just go climate change.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Now, what I keep circling back to with climate change is, okay, climate change. We're living it. Now we've got a problem. In New Orleans, they're below sea water. I mean, sea level. Sea level. And they have an issue. So then they built levees and walls.
Starting point is 00:05:19 and they built sea walls. And then now they're okay. But before that, they weren't okay. So, okay, maybe you go, well, the sea rose in Louisiana. And that's why they need that in New Orleans. Okay, the sea rose, build a seawall. Exactly. I'm with you, climate change.
Starting point is 00:05:39 I mean, obviously, it's not climate change, but if it is climate change, that's still on you. To deal with it. Yes. Go deal with it. So your thing is, is this is caused by climate change, which, by the way, somehow we control from the Santa Monica, Venice Beach area. Somehow we control the global weather.
Starting point is 00:06:04 Brandios. Yeah, we're from 4th Street and Ocean. Over that, Ocean and Lincoln, I think. We control everything. So we have to switch to electric leaf blowers so that we're. we don't burn down again. I don't think that's really going to be impactful. I would say build the seawall.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Whatever that is, you're just saying climate change. Okay. And by the way, reporters, can you follow up? Okay, climate change. Good. We all agree. Climate change. Now what?
Starting point is 00:06:39 What do we do? Yeah. Now, because of climate change, we have to work extra hard. Because we're, I mean, not, I don't know. other parts of the country in the world aren't suffering from climate change, but it's impacting us incredibly hard. So now we must work harder to undo this scourge. And we're going to have to protect ourselves against this
Starting point is 00:07:06 because we're that much more vulnerable because of this thing. Can we, can we do that? Yeah. Listen, homeless is the exact same construct, right? First of all, isn't it interesting? New York City had very little homeless. And certainly no homeless encampments. Mondami comes in. Now we've got them all over 12th Avenue.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Really? Just magically? Magically? Really? Okay. And they use these things for their agendas, right? So now they can go, look at 12th Avenue. This is the failure of capitalism because rents are too damn high here in New York City.
Starting point is 00:07:38 That's their game. Same thing in Los Angeles. They're homeless because it's the mother of three who lost your job. Remember that whole nonsense? Yeah. They use these poor people as props. And then the same thing with climate change. So if you say deal with climate change, you're like, oh, no, no, we got to turn it back.
Starting point is 00:07:54 We got to get, we get climate under control. It's like, well, how many years that can take? 30, 40? And even if at all, if you're able to, in the meantime, what's your plan? This is the same thing homeless. In the meantime, what's your plan? Well, you know, you can do a little A and a B thing. Like you go, okay, what's going on with the forest,
Starting point is 00:08:16 and the fuel for the fire, whatever that might be up in our hills. The hills run down into the ocean. The two biggest climate change claims are sea levels are rising. Sea levels are rising. And then, of course, it's hotter, now there's more dry and there's more fuel for the fire, right? Yeah. Well, how come riddle me this, Dr. Drew. Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:47 How come climate change has affected the hill that is directly across from the ocean, directly? I mean, all these fires are literally, you could stand in the ocean, have your feet in the water, and turn around and just look at the hill, and it's 100 yards, it's 25 yards away. It's there. That's all there. So climate change has affected the hill, but it hasn't affected the ocean. I thought we had climate. We have sea levels rising and this drier, hotter environment, which is creating this.
Starting point is 00:09:27 So no sea level rising at all. It's exactly where it was. Yeah. But climate change is turning that mountain into kindling. I just. No one. No one. I know.
Starting point is 00:09:40 But can a reporter get these fucking guys in a room and ask them a fucking question? Just about anything. about anything. About anything. So, all right. So what I've learned is we cannot avoid another fire, nor should we prepare for another fire because of climate change. Yeah. Hey, look, you've seen some of these senatorial candidates, the DSA candidates and things that, you know, they even have about that woman, I think she's running for governor, that she's bipolar and she's seems very odd. Oh, is it Hong? Yeah, I think that's right. The Korean woman? You know what cracks me up?
Starting point is 00:10:21 What cracks me up is these politicians, especially the younger ones. They act like having a part-time job at a restaurant was doing three tours in Vietnam. You know, they go, I worked. I worked in a kitchen. Yeah, bitch, everyone worked. That's how it was. Every person I knew worked. Do you think I was like walk around?
Starting point is 00:10:46 I worked at a liquor store. I had to move stuff. And I drove a station wagon with stuff in it and went to places with the stuff. And then I had to drop the stuff off. So don't tell me, Drew, who got in a car and went to a place and did stuff for the day, half a day maybe, and then went home and got paid for that stuff. I know what it's like. I've been there. You understand?
Starting point is 00:11:16 I got up, and I left the house. You got me, brother? And I went to a place where there was stuff, and a guy who was in charge of that place, he told me what to do, and I moved to stuff. And he gave me money, and I went home. So I know. Believe me, I know.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Jesus fucking Christ, bitch, you had a job. You and fucking everybody else. Who gives a shit? Why does that make you qualified to do anything? You worked in a fucking kitchen. Who gives a shit? Well, I guess what I was thinking about was more about reporters not asking follow-up questions. So she's like, oh, yeah, those tweets where I said defund the police and I said end the Senate and get rid of all these insane things. She goes, well, you know, my ideas are evolved. They can evolve. Or, you know, why did the reporter go, why can't they evolve back? Or maybe you were manic when you did that. How does we know?
Starting point is 00:12:15 No more Thanksgiving. But here's the thing. Did you mean what you were saying at the time? And then if you didn't, why'd you say it? There's not a bunch of footage of me calling Israel a genocidal regime and saying, I love passion fruit, iced tea, and DJ Calid is a genius. You're not going to find. any, you're not going to find me saying anything that I would ever walk back.
Starting point is 00:12:47 Yeah. Oh, because I mean what I say. What does she mean? Look, she actually got the whole thing wrong. She's like, we should have ended Thanksgiving in 1620. Yeah, because there was no Thanksgiving that. It's Abraham Lincoln established the holiday of Abraham Lincoln as a Thanksgiving to the reuniting of the Union after the Civil War.
Starting point is 00:13:08 What the F is she talking about? But also, why didn't the reporter go? Excuse me. That's not, I know what you're talking about. You have to, you have to really think about the hubris. Like really, let's really just break this hubris down. Or the brainwash, and maybe there's so brainwash that you're out of touch. I know, but really, let's really use an example and really break down the humorous, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:35 These people, her, and I guess she's Korean, these guys come from these Middle East their shitholes or whatever, Ilhan Omar, the whole squad, you know. Let's just say I, let's just say, you know, North Hollywood and Valley Village got in Studio City got so bad that I had to flee. Like there was just so much death and destruction and squalor and hunger and starvation and I couldn't find clean water and my parents were being prosecuted for crimes that didn't commit, you know, against the government or something. And I just fled to France.
Starting point is 00:14:15 And I just went to France and in France opened their doors and opened their arms. And I flourished in France. I just, I did my family. Wherever we fled, we just flourished. And I was getting elected into office and I was being celebrated and so on and so forth in France. And then just pretty much made a full-time job of talking shit about France. Just a full-time. just a full-time job about talking about what a piece of shit, Francis. And then talking about,
Starting point is 00:14:47 you know, my native land and waxing poetic and speaking in my native tongue and wearing the shirt with the flag on it and talking about how proud they are and what great people they are. That would make me a total piece of shit. And it would also be like amazing humorous. You know what I mean? An insane ball. Like where do you get the balls? By the way, I do think women are capable of doing that more than men. Because I think about what I gave my ex-wife, you know, while we're married and after we're married, and how fucking horrible her attitude has been about it. Basically, I am France in this equation. You're the France welfare state.
Starting point is 00:15:38 Yeah, I gave you a life that you could only dream of and never provide. for yourself and you're you're bitter bitch about it and always always shitty about it with me. We should dig into that. We should dig into that psychology because that's out there a lot. It's all over like here's so. There's
Starting point is 00:15:56 one person my ex-wife should be thankful for and kiss the ass of on this planet and that is me. And there's one country all these fucking near-do wells should love and thank and that's the United States of America. Yeah. And they both
Starting point is 00:16:12 hate both of them. Yeah. And resent. And resent it. It's kind of an interesting dynamic, isn't it? Oh, it is. And I can't quite figure it out. It's something.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I think it's a shame in them. Dev, I will tell you, I've talked to plenty of successful people. Not Andrew or Chuck, obviously, but successful. I've talked a lot of super successful people. I just don't want you to get confused because they're wild. You're watching. Non-gruntled people. I've talked to a lot of pre-successful people like Chuck and Andrew and pre-gruntled.
Starting point is 00:16:53 If you say to them, if you say to any guy I know who's really done well for himself and has that fucking, fucking lazy-ass brother and the fucking mom who couldn't get her shit together and the fucking ex-wife or whatever. And you go, the people that hate me the most are definitely the people I've done the most for. the most. And they all look at you and they go, oh my God. Oh, that is so fucking true. Like the people that have the beef with me are all the people I've done the most for. It's well documented that people that are educated over here and have these glorious educations and make lots of friends, go back to their homeland and turn on us. It's awesome. Use all of it against it. I know. All right. We need to take quick break. Be right back after this. Quo. Well, if you run a business, you never want to miss a call. Starting point is 00:19:18 On Pluto TV. Stream now. Pay never. All right. So, I want to finish your France trip. So I was listening to a French political conversation yesterday. And they're getting on to this, too. It's funny, they're slow, but they come around fast.
Starting point is 00:19:36 They snap back. And this guy was saying, he's like, look, you can. keep talking about these racial identities, which is what people do here, obviously, with the Somalis and all the people that you're talking, Adam's talking about now, or whatever group you're talking about that have come from somewhere and set up here. And he said, no, this country's never been about race. This country is about a common culture, a common culture, a common language. And I would argue in the case of this country, a defense of a common idea embedded in the Constitution. and not about race at all. It never was about that. And your point is that they refuse to assimilate. They build the cultures in these enclaves,
Starting point is 00:20:23 and that's what creates as much of the problem as anything. Yeah, we do a thing where they just go, diversities are strength, diversity. It isn't. Why? You signed off. Maybe racial diversity is, but cultural diversity is. But cultural diversity isn't.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And racial diversity is. in our strength either. There is no, first up, it's invisible. You know, what invisible strength? You know what I mean? You're black. She's Chicano. She's whatever from the island nation. There's no, there's no strength to it. It could be, you know, you could go, the strength of this dog park is all the different breeds that are at this dog park. It's like, it's not really the strength of the dog park. It's interesting. It makes it interesting. It makes it interesting. But the dog park, strength of the dog park is it has a good fence around it so the dogs can't run out on the highway. It's orderly. There's places with the little baggies to pick up the poop. Hold on. The strength
Starting point is 00:21:25 of the dog park is the order and safety in the dog park. If the dog park was shit everywhere, nobody cleaned up after their dog. The grass was gone. It was dirt instead. There was holes in the fences. then diversity wouldn't mean shit to that dog park. But it could be all St. Bernard's and no other breed of dog at that dog park. And it still could be an orderly dog park or it could be all different breeds in a well-run dog park. But the diversity of the breed is not a strength of the dog park. Thank you. I'm going to give you one little wrinkle because it struck me in 2001,
Starting point is 00:22:07 which is when they hit the World Trade Center, and you cut to the reporters down on the street talking to the people affected by this, you saw people from all over the world. It was not white male in the skinny tie. In fact, there are very few of those talking, those people from all over the world. And I thought to myself, that is a strength in the sense that, let's go back to the dog park. I hate poodles. That fucking dog park, only poodles at that dog park.
Starting point is 00:22:37 I want to destroy that dog park. I go down there to destroy it and there's a whole bunch of no poodles. Everything else is in there mixed up. That's kind of a strength in terms of who we are, if that makes sense. Does that make sense? Not really. No, that's so bad. I just thought it caught me, caught me 2001.
Starting point is 00:22:54 I'll never forget it. I mean, it's, look, it means we're an open and friendly culture. That's kind of a strength, right? We're not who they say we are as the point. Well, listen, first off, who they say we are, We can't talk them out of any of this yet. Right. I mean, I'm in L.A.
Starting point is 00:23:16 you know, scared of people who look different than them. You know, that's all L.A. is. It's one big, I've never been picked up by an Uber driver that looked like me, ever, or sounded like me or had a name that I'd recognize. I had even a name of a guy that played on my football team or something like that. Look, you're definitely right. the culture, look, you would be much better off with a hodge pot. Okay, back to the dog park.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Yeah. You would be much better off with a very diverse dog park with all different breeds, but they all bought into the dog park idea. Yes, yes, yes. They're there for a common purpose. Versus one breed that didn't buy in. Yeah, right. 100%.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Right now, what we do is we have a. dog park and then each breed elects their own official to represent them and they go to bat for their each each breed and then the commentators go on TV and get them to fight essentially. This is all just a psychop about just trying to get and maybe it's coming from China and Russia and a lot of it is. It's just an attempt to get us to fight amongst each other. Nobody gives a fuck about race in 2006. We do care about culture and we care about your action.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Basically, I don't care what breed you bring to the park. You have to pick up your dog's poop. You understand? And then when you don't quite, when you don't pick up your dog's poop and I say something about it, that doesn't mean I dislike poodles. Right, right. Thank you. But it also, we do like one another's cultures. We just have to have a common one.
Starting point is 00:25:08 We all agree upon it. And you can't retreat to your culture and hate all the other dogs in the dog park. We have a culture. You can keep your poodle culture, but you have to have a shared culture with a safe. Yeah, kind of. But you're really asking people to do two things at once, Drew. And that's the problem. Get their freaking hair cut and have their little poofs and stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Fine. You go, yeah, but here's the problem. you are asking people to do something they don't do. When we go, oh, all right, let's have English only in schools. And then someone goes, well, how about English and poodle in schools? They can speak poodle and their families are poodles. And then they go home and they speak poodle with their poodle family. And then they're getting taught in that language.
Starting point is 00:25:57 And before you know it, they're hanging out at the poodle bar. And next you know, it's all poodle. No. No. And the poodles are cooking tacos on the street and the poodles are for feeding everything and the poodles are doing street takeovers and the poodles are fighting with ice. The poodles are out there fighting ice. Well that's where we're at now.
Starting point is 00:26:24 All right, we got to get rid of the poodles. That's what we've established here. We got to build up. Tell the poodles about where they came from. Those, yes. We need to build a crate. We need to crate those poodles and send them back to Poudvillea. Pudilia, it's called.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Anyway, so you put your finger on a couple of things. I want to really dig into if you don't mind. First of all, you just said you're asking people to do things that people don't do. And I am really— Hold on one sec. I think I'm guilty of that. I'm not saying— I'm not saying that people don't do.
Starting point is 00:27:07 I'm just saying, I mean, I'm kind of like, you know, you say to the, you say to your kid. You say your poodle. You say to your poodle, look, you have a young pup poodle. And you say to the poodle, look, I, I know I used to say you had to mow the lawn and then I would give you your allowance. But I'm just going to say, I'll give you your allowance. And if you want to mow the lawn, mow the lawn or I'd like you to mow the lawn. It'd be nice if you still mowed the lawn,
Starting point is 00:27:37 but you're going to get your allowance anyway. You know what? Two out of ten poodles would still mow the lawn, but the rest are never going to mow that lawn. Yeah. And it's not like they're bad. It's not like some wouldn't, but it's just generally you remove the incentive structure
Starting point is 00:27:53 and now the lawn doesn't get mowed. Well, and the lore would be, This is something you kind of alerted me to. The rich poodles don't mow the lawn. Ever, yes. But the poor poodles, they mow the lawn. Well, those are the chihuahuas. I should be more celebrated in my time.
Starting point is 00:28:17 I saw you talking about something the other day on your show, but again, you come from that, you know, socioeconomic class. And so you have insights into it that, you know, who has the same insight? Rob Henderson. Yeah. Henderson. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Yeah. Anybody. It's basically the Democratic left. And now the socialist, you know, it's always working class, working, these poor people, you know, working, never getting ahead, can't feed their family. I don't even know where this can't feed their family stuff comes in. Like, is there, again, it's like healthy teenage boys who've died of COVID. Have you seen it? Have you seen it? I've never seen it. I haven't seen it. And I haven't seen anyone expire because of hunger. Yeah. But anyway.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Not this country. Mom Dami, by the way, to find the working class in an interview, anyone who makes under a million dollars a year. Right. So, and listen, they're not poor. I mean, they may be poor. They ain't proud. They are some of the griftiest people ever. So is the grifty? Let's take out of that. too, I've got a bunch of stuff I want to talk about. Is the griftiness, just a survival thing that people learn because they're in that situation? I mean, that's what surely the left would say, right? Here's what, okay, let's try to figure out why you're poor, I mean, are not excelling.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And we'll get to the poodle thing in a minute. Although they're all black poodles with a black background. I think you need some light, lighter poodles in there. Because remember, these are all white women out there, basically. Okay, so let's break it down. Poodles. You've got to get some gruntled, severely gruntled poodles. Gruntled is happy poodles. It's a happy poodle, Drew. Remember, it's discrug. Oh, she. We're looking at A. Those are gruntled enough. Those look enthusiastic. And they're well kept. All right. Now, listen, we're looking at AI poodle.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Antifa takeover of the streets. Man, AI's crazy. All right, Drew, listen to me. You ready? Yeah, yeah. Nobody, here's the first myth in this country. Nobody, regardless of your sexual proclivities, your race, your religion, male, female, black, white, gay straight. Nobody. Nobody in this country who is focused, diligent.
Starting point is 00:30:57 prompt, sober, and works hard is going to go without. Nobody ever. And here's how I know it. I've never met that person. I've never met that person, ever. I remember a million years ago I was driving my truck into a job site or whatever, and there's just a dude hitchhiking. And I just picked him up back when people just picked up people hitchhiking, you know?
Starting point is 00:31:25 and the guy saw when he got my truck, when he saw some tools in the back or whatever, and he said, you know, you're a carpenter? I said, yeah. He said, oh, yeah, I do it. I'm a carpenter, too. I go, what do you do you do it all. You know, framing and finish and, you know,
Starting point is 00:31:47 drywall, hang doors, roofing. I do it all. And I said to him, oh, well, how's it going? I've been out of work for six months. I was like, oh, okay. I hope you find a job. I dropped him off and I thought that guy's a shit carpenter. There's no, there's no good car.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Or drug addict. Yeah, or something. Whatever. Drug addict make you a shitty carpenter. Whatever. Drug addict make you shitty at everything. But anyway, this is a metaphor. I've said it once.
Starting point is 00:32:14 I'm saying it again. I don't know anyone who's a good carpenter who's ever been out of work for one day. Never. It doesn't exist. I don't know anyone who's good at their job. Can you think of anyone who's really good at their job? It's just out of work. No.
Starting point is 00:32:32 Okay. So, diligent, sober, prompt, responsible, enthusiastic, good attitudes, whatever. If you are that way in this country, you'll never do without. You'll never go to bed hungry. You'll be fine. And you'll probably be a millionaire at some point. Hold on. These people, these poor people,
Starting point is 00:32:57 They don't possess those qualities. They do not, or they wouldn't be poor. They do not possess any of those qualities. They're always, I grew up with these people. They don't want to do their homework. They're constantly late. They're super flaky. They fucking let you down.
Starting point is 00:33:16 Their word means nothing. And that's how they go through life. And then the entire life is trying to game the system. It's always trying to figure out a way to get you to pay for something to take this. Sometimes it's just kind of stealing stuff, but mostly it's just kind of grifty stuff. Like, you know, I got someone else, yeah,
Starting point is 00:33:40 that's your wife's back there. I got someone else to punch in for me at work so I could sleep in. You know, just basic little stupid shit like that, right? Yeah, yeah. Okay. And every one of them is, soon as you find out one of your friends
Starting point is 00:33:56 works at a fast food place, You go over there so they can buff you out with free burgers and fries. That's how to do that. Right, right. But that's the grifty stuff. But Kat's here. Can I bring her into the show? I thought we were.
Starting point is 00:34:09 I thought too. Well, okay, we'll take a break. And then we'll bring Kat into the show. They're not out there. They're not out there. They're waiting outside the door. Now they're not there. So hold on.
Starting point is 00:34:22 I'll find her. Yeah, well, listen, we just got 15 minutes and then we can start the next show with her. Yeah, let's just finish this show. Let's just finish this show. All right, quick break. We'll be right back after this. All right. So, Drew, your thought.
Starting point is 00:34:40 So us taking poor people. And by the way, you see them. You see them. You see them around. They fucking have a bunch of tattoos. They don't need that they spend a bunch of money on. They're big and fat. They spend a bunch of fucking.
Starting point is 00:34:58 money on their nails and their hair. The dudes buy rims for their cars that they don't fucking need. They fucking squander their money on bullshit and they eat a bunch of fucking fast food. Yes, Drew, go. But that's the question, though. Is it, is it, so they have a spending problem? Is that because, again, no one, the school fails
Starting point is 00:35:18 them, no one talks them about how to save and financial literacy? And by the same token, does the griftiness come from some sort of survival thing of the circumstance? dance. And if that's true, we should be dealing with that. Look, they don't, look, they get that spending money that they don't really have on rims for their truck versus health insurance is not a great idea. And they also know fast food is bad for them.
Starting point is 00:35:51 And they also know that drinking a bunch of fucking shitty pineapple soda and smoking cigarettes. They know all of it. They have an impulse control problem. They cannot, they cannot stop themselves. But again, is that the circumstance? Well, hold on. That's not an educational thing. Educators think, oh, we have to teach them to eat healthy. Oh, they fucking know the difference between eating an apple and eating a donut. God knows they know. They know it because you knew it when you were sick. They can't stop themselves from eating the donut. Well, that's, again, that's the point because their parents didn't know how to do that.
Starting point is 00:36:30 They didn't teach you. So is it a family? No, no, no, no. I don't, I don't, why was it like your parents have to teach you this? It's a societal thing. But I just want you like, like you always say, if you don't know what the problem is, you can't address it, right? I mean, I'm trying to.
Starting point is 00:36:46 The problem is, is these people need to. be in an environment that's militaristic. They need to get up at six o'clock. They need to run five miles. You don't eat breakfast until after the run. They need to be sort of contained and controlled. They need to schedule. Rob Henderson. Rob Henderson, that's what saved his life. He got in the military, and he gave him that. He did it. Yeah, yeah. A lot of them been out from that. They can't do it. You don't have a choice. Listen, Red Rock's amphitheater was built with a bunch of wayward runaway teenage boys. The whole place was built
Starting point is 00:37:30 like a job corps. Like these kids are juveniles. They're 14 years old. They're going to end up in prison. They've been kicked out of... Where are these kids now? Let's find out what happened to them. You know, did that work? Let's do more of that. Well, they're all dead, but yeah. Well, because it was built in 1931 or whatever the fuck it was. Tell me this story.
Starting point is 00:37:52 It was Bob and his 40s. He's a dentist. He lives in Orange County. No, he's fucking dead, Drew. They're all dead. Everyone's dead. I actually did not realize it was that old of a... I don't know.
Starting point is 00:38:01 Look up Red Rock's amphitheater in the building, whatever, and see when it was built and see who built Red Rock's amphitheater. We'll see what year it was. President Franklin Roosevelt. Does it for a ward. Yeah. Workers. laborers were young children, rather young, teenagers, 17 to 28.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Dates constructed 1944. So they started, oh, it opened in 1941. Yeah. So it started building it in the 30s. Yeah, all right. Adam's always right. I know that. I know that.
Starting point is 00:38:45 Hold on. Wait a minute. Calculative workers, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. The blasting between 36 and 40. Yeah, they started the mid-30s. I mean, it was like they finished a Hoover Dam and they're like going on to Red Rocks. But they had camps and they had young dudes
Starting point is 00:39:03 and they had dudes that would be on the street committing crime. It would be like five more minutes. Getting it and out. Like five more minutes. Okay. Sit down and make yourself a little. Getting into trouble, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:39:18 And instead, they built stuff. they got contained is what I'm saying. Yeah, but the insane question is, did it hold? And if it didn't hold, why not? And what could we do? You know what I mean? What did what hold? Getting them to do that change though.
Starting point is 00:39:37 It has to. Yes. Of course it does. Versus wander around and commit petty crime and drink. Yeah, yeah. Well, I mean, some of them, look, I know Hart is. people to change. You don't work on a, you know, just like drug treatment. You don't sit in a hospital for six months in your bed or you have to work at it. They got these kids, they get these guys in
Starting point is 00:40:01 their teens and they put them in a camp. I get it. They're more malleable. I get, I just, I believe it would work, but people would challenge and say, what's the data? But you, but you, you brought up another issue. Maybe we have to table until next show, but it's a big issue. We got a few. We got a few minutes. Go ahead. Right. Which is, you said, you said, everything is a sireop, you know, the racial tensions and all that stuff. Yes. And I am going back to where I started, I was yelling about this during COVID, but I think it's a general note, is don't listen to the press.
Starting point is 00:40:35 They're doing all of this. They're doing so much of this. Unless they're using humor, like you can listen to John Stewart or if you want because you're using humor, you know what I mean? But if they're CNN and they think they're telling the truth or they're diluted or brainwash or doing China's work, whatever it is, we have to stop listening to them. Yeah, we can't, though, because they're telling us something we kind of secretly want. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:41:04 What's that? And that's the sad part. I don't know. It's like you've got a neighbor, you know, and, you know, you're what, and maybe you don't, I don't know, maybe you don't love your neighbor, but he's still your neighbor, whatever. And then your wife, like, comes home and did you go, you know, did you hear about our neighbor? He's getting divorced, you know, he's getting divorced. And his son, his oldest son, who was at the military academy, he's gay. Turns out he's gay.
Starting point is 00:41:31 And you go, oh, there's something intriguing about this or something interesting or little Schadenfreude or whatever, like, feels good or something. And we're very susceptible to that stuff. And the version of that is like, that cop killed that young black man. because he was black because he unarmed for no reason. He's evil. Oh, man. I mean, like, they love that shit.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Chicks love it and dumb dudes love it. You're making me think that we have to have a news model that isn't financial. It just goes back to lost leader at 730 on CBS, and that's that I just report it and get out of it. Yeah, but here's the problem. We have one. It's called NPR, and it was taken over by a bunch of fucking college. dorks and they have all their own fucking politics that they bring to it. We can't have any group.
Starting point is 00:42:26 No group can be neutral anymore because it always has this woman used to be the president of Yale and now we got her to run a PBS news. I think, all right, we're fucked. Yeah. But you're right though in the sense that it's not anymore. It is a commercial enterprise and it's splintered into a thousand different little million different little pieces. podcasts and, you know, all this, you know, God knows what, and citizen journalists. And so in a weird way,
Starting point is 00:42:57 I guess the market will take care of it, right, as it always does. It'll just sort of, you know, people will stop listening to stuff that they see as a sciop. Well, some people will, and then others will continue to go down that road because they don't know, you know, they don't know what's being done to them. You know, you know. Some people stop microwaving stuff in plastic and others will continue to microwave stuff in plastic because they don't know anything. But still, that sliver gets smaller and smaller because of the market. Yeah, it is. Pulling people away.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Yeah, I can't. You know, if somebody said, hey, look, we got a big investment. We're going to either invest in Twitter. or SpaceX or we're going to invest in CNN. I would probably say, I don't think I want to put any money into CNN. I don't think there's going to be a return on that investment. Well, that's the financial model. And we see that Paramount deal, and that's what they're worried about with that deal,
Starting point is 00:44:04 Paramount, whatever was, Warner Brothers deal. And when they get a hold of it and the markets is affecting their business, they will change it. They will do something. Oh, I mean, Bud Light turned on a double. dime, you know, they, and many of these wokey sort of DEI kind of wokester companies that went hard down that road, you know, five years ago have completely changed their model. So yes, you're right. And politicians will do the same thing, you know, they're basically, listen,
Starting point is 00:44:39 here's the thing. Can we do this? If you had to go back, if you're a politician and you're, you're running for whatever in Wisconsin or whatever it is. If you had to go back and erase a whole bunch of tweets, we shouldn't vote for you. Yeah, yeah, I think that's a reasonable or. There's an or, which is explain yourself in detail. They can't do it other than to lie and say that's not who they really are. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:45:09 A tweet is basically just who you are. And we got tons of them. And you got to go back. I don't know. I'll go back, ask me to go back and explain any of my horrible, horrible tweets from the COVID era. I haven't deleted. I haven't. I had somebody. I had multiple people tell me to take down my tweet about old people and sick people and posies. And I was like, no. For example, why? I mean it. That's what I mean. On your knees, Dave. On your knees. Listen to me. You do what I tell you, Dave. Yeah, but it's what I think. It's what I believe.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Now, you guys, I don't know, you hate Eastern, you hate Halloween, and you hate Thanksgiving, and you hate Jews. Okay, that's the way you think. That's why you sent tweets out to that effect. That's who you are. I don't, I, it's a, it's a, also, if you have to abandon a whole bunch of shit that you said four years ago, when you're well into adulthood, And listen, Drew, I will carve out a window for boys age 17 to 23 for saying crazy shit. I'm not going to carve it out for people in their 40s and 50s. Hey, you're reminding me to do a public service announcement.
Starting point is 00:46:30 Remember Michael Gates who's running for AG in California that came in on our show, I think more than once. We are trying to help fundraise and get him. We've got to get him in the AG office. If we can't get the governor, we've got to get the AG. go to my website, dotter.com slash vote for Gates. Please go in there and support the guy. We got to get him into California.
Starting point is 00:46:51 So, I mean, the thing about California is we are a losing franchise. We are basically the Raiders. We got a bunch of Super Bowls in our past. We got just Win Baby. We got all the great names. And the last five seasons, we've been three and 14. So like a franchise, we got to start looking.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Is it the head coach? Is it the quarterback? Is it the front office? Like, whatever it is, we used to be the Raiders, and now we suck. So let's, now their argument is keep, listen, get rid of the head coach. We got a guy who's exactly the same as the last head. coach who studied underneath him at the same college who's going to implement more of his ideas. Our coach picked him.
Starting point is 00:47:51 Right. Our thing is like, my thing is like, oh, whatever it is, we're three and 14 for a long time. So we need to shake it up. Whatever that is, it needs to be different than what it was. Yeah. And I have no fucking idea why people don't see that. You know, they do this thing all the time. They go, Rick Caruso, Spencer Pratt, who are these guys?
Starting point is 00:48:17 They don't have any experience. They don't have any experience destroying franchises. Yeah, you're right. They don't. They don't. They're unknown. They don't have a rich track record of destroying formerly great franchises. You're right.
Starting point is 00:48:32 I'm with you. But your argument is, that's your argument. I don't, we don't have, they don't have experience destroying cities or states. Okay. All right, Drew. Yeah. Me, Albuquerque, New Mexico. That'll be at hyenas.
Starting point is 00:48:48 That'll be Thursday. And then, oh, we got the date on there, though. Can't do it, can we? That'll be this Thursday. No, not this Thursday. Next Thursday. Oh, then I owe you an apology. I thought, I thought Andrew said this was this one.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Adam's always right. My fault. No, no, no. No, I said this show comes out. Yep, this is 100% right. And I owe Andrew an apology. So I'm going to tell my assistant to apologize, him. I won't do it myself.
Starting point is 00:49:23 New action. All right, hyenas. That's coming up Thursday, August 20th, and then Friday, August 21st. And that'll be hyenas. And then Saturday, heading to Tucson, Arizona, Rialto Theater, Tampa, Florida, after that, on the 28th. Just go to Adamcrawler.com for all the info. What do you got, Drew?
Starting point is 00:49:43 Dr.Doo.com. Dotter.com slash vote for Gates. Make crime illegal again in California. That's his slogan. So, until next time, Adam Croll for Dr. San. Bahala. Good. Good.
