The Adam and Dr. Drew Show - Classic #1531 You’re Ashamed of Your Cowdardice, Now Go Live With It Pt. 1

Episode Date: June 3, 2025

Adam and Dr. Drew open the show discussing the ‘stepping down’ of Jeff Zucker from CNN and what the reality of that story might be as opposed to the narrative that CNN itself is painting.... They also discuss the impending Super Bowl being hosted at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and the mask mandate coming with it, as they try to explore what other stadiums have similar mandates in place. They then turn to the phones and speak with a caller who wants to discuss and expand upon Adam’s ‘death of math’ theory. They also talk to a caller who recently experienced a heightened level of wokeness he wants to discuss.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Starting point is 00:00:00 So this is just February 2022, but it's so interesting how quickly things have been moving. This is a historically significant, kind of really interesting show. You should listen. Adam and I discuss, amongst other things, Jeff Zucker stepping down from CNN and what really led to that and what our thoughts were. Also the Super Bowl was going to be at SoFi Stadium here in Los Angeles at that time, the mask mandate. And wow, we have we got a lot of mileage out of that mask mandate
Starting point is 00:00:34 and the people that attempt attempted to enforce it and why we talked about that for years afterwards. But this was right when that was beginning. So take a listen. Recorded live at Corolla One Studios with Adam Corolla and board certified physician and addiction medicine specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky. You're listening to the Adam and Dr. Drew show. Yeah, get it on. Got to get on a choice make it on mandate get it on dr. Is bored fit season and up with set texas tea with two lumps
Starting point is 00:01:13 Three or four You guys know a lot of though you guys know lump humor No, card yours in the 40s. Come on Matt you have the tootsie pop commercial. That's what I have in my head right now Okay now cubes of sugar were called lumps and they Five eights by five eights half inch by half inch cubes and They're 5 8's by 5 8's, half inch by half inch cubes. And sugar cube. And then so if you would order tea, I'd ask how many lumps? And then you'd go, give me three lumps.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Can I interrupt you? I always thought it was the scoops of sugar. Each one was a lump, because it looked like a lump. I don't know, you're right though, cubes got the same meaning at some point, I think. Yeah? Yeah. Yeah, interesting. Well, I don't know. Well, look what a lump is. I think it's a cube. Yeah. Thanks for stepping on the punch line. No, no, look, I just want to talk about it. Yeah, super confusing. Okay. Anyway, Matt, you would order a tea, then I'd ask you how many lumps, and then you would say three lumps, and then I would take out
Starting point is 00:02:23 a hammer and hit you three times on the head, and then you'd get three lumps and then I would take out a hammer and hit you three times on the head and then you get three lumps. You'd have to see the three lumps. They have to rise up out of your skull. Cue studio laughter. That's that. That was lump humor. Wow. And it doesn't stop at a single exchange like that. It must repeat through the episode and it must culminate with, I want a whole lot of lumps. Right. And then you get a whole lot of lumps on your head lump sugar lump sugar is refined sugar Which has been pressed or cast in a particular shape? Okay. Did you have to cut me off?
Starting point is 00:02:56 You're not curious. The lump is a fucking sugar cube. I was about to hit the punch line and you got a hold on All right. All right. Maybe it's just a handful of sugar. All right, sorry for being curious. No, no, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't be that generous on yourself, Drew. Okay. I'm sorry for being curious. That's you stepping on a punchline. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:20 It's not being curious. You could have asked afterward. Okay. Okay. And by the way, you don't think that a lump is It all sugar sugar and a spoon sugar spread on a counter sugar in your hands not a lump It always was curious to me as a kid. I didn't I did was always seemed weird And you waited until your 60 second year to satisfy that on the air. Just thought I think about it Do it on your own next time.
Starting point is 00:03:45 All right, well. I also, we, there's a lot of stuff we got into that last show and we didn't get to finish a lot of this, a couple of things. One was you were taking aim at Peter Hotez and one of the things he said that I completely agree with. He is- Hang on, hang on, sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:00 He's the person from CNN who's the crazy man with the bow tie who's doom and gloom All throughout the pandemic CNN loves him because he's very doom and gloomy and he's mostly always wrong and other than that He definitely is a negative guy when I drilled in on him and he's political it turns out He's fearful of neurological consequences and because he's a pediatrician he doesn't really understand Neurological processes and adults but okay, but he did we did agree very strongly this one thing He said public health's been treating people like four-year-olds that they treat you like that's what he does Well, he goes on to CNN and fans the fear flames and talks to their audience like the four-year-olds now to be fair
Starting point is 00:04:42 He's probably just a coward who lacks dignity and wants to be asked back on the air. You can't go on CNN and disagree with them. They want you to lie or fear monger. Any thoughts on Jeff Suckers' so-called stepping down? No, I mean, I'm assuming they knew whatever he was up to when they were up to it I if you're if you're at the helm of a network that's lost 90% of its viewership over the last nine months then It's gonna be easy to ask you to leave. Well, what I find interesting is that discovery is gonna take over in about two months
Starting point is 00:05:21 People are sort of missing that part of the story now I read some stuff on it and they were saying that... Hotez is gonna be out of a gig if Discovery gets hold of CNN and starts to steer them back towards some sanity. Yeah. Those guys are gonna be out of jobs. I would think all those guys, you're gonna pay, you're gonna pay Don Lemon 16 million dollars a year for that and your Discovery Network? For his ratings? Yeah and by the way Discovery is notorious for being penny-p Network? For his ratings? Yeah. And by the way, Discovery is notorious for being penny-pinching.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Oh, really? And so it'll be very interesting. Somebody said he was chummy with the current CEO, that Zucker was chummy with the current CEO of Discovery, and that that's why he had originally planned to step down and then stayed. I think he left because of that Discovery looming ahead was gonna be an axe anyway, don't you? I mean they could not be otherwise It's never for what it is. Whatever they say it is it never is right You can wait around and find out the truth, you know later on but whatever they said it was that's not what it is
Starting point is 00:06:21 Yeah The consensual relationship to divorced adults, middle-aged, and going on for a long period of time that people knew about. But if you read the report, what they said was it's that he lied to the investigative team looking into Chris Cuomo. He neglected to report even though that's what he was supposed to do to that team So it's kind of a it's a cover-up thing. It's really the problem. All right, look whatever they say it is I don't believe them. We'll see whatever it is. They never say
Starting point is 00:06:58 They're not truthful. So whatever whatever they're saying. Yeah, we'll just wait and see what what actually happened Yeah, I don't know what actually happened. I just know not to believe whatever it is. they're saying yeah we'll just wait and see what would actually happen yeah I don't know what actually happened I just know not to believe whatever it is they're saying yeah that's that's my relationship with them but that's my relationship with a lot of news think about the fact that that's the new relationship with the news is first position is false lie distorted in some way yeah it. It's incredible. Incredible. They've gotten to that point. Even when they're trying to tell stories about their own behavior. You know, I was thinking, I was still angry about this stadium asshole, Russ Simon. And I don't like the way people talk in terms of we're in charge.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah, well you immediately think about my confusion about how everyday Germans behave like that. I mean I don't want to bring that all back to that, but it's like it's uncanny how people, when they give them some power, what they start to do with it. Yes, but the Rams are playing Cincinnati. You know, it'd be interesting, Emmy, or Matt, first off, the Cincinnati Bengals have a mask mandate in their outdoor stadium. They do.
Starting point is 00:08:21 They do. Huh. No, I'm- Oh, do they? I'm sorry, I beg your pardon. Do they? Focus. Yes, do they do huh? No, I'm oh do they I'm sorry. I beg your pardon. They do they focus yes, do they and then how many stadiums do and Look, I look around I watch pro football every weekend. They show the crowd every weekend. No one's wearing a fucking mask I don't think I'm one stadium where some asks
Starting point is 00:08:41 There I'm sure it's mandated in Seattle Yeah, and I'm sure it is in you know, San Francisco for now all the the blue states will have the mandate No one will participate But I wonder if since he is the whole point is is I've said this about LA over and over and over what? What what data do we have? That makes this thing more dangerous to us? Bangles, masks, proof of vaccination not required at Paul Brown Stadium. Masks, proof of vaccination not required. So nothing required. All right. So the LA Rams are playing the Cincinnati Bangles. There's nothing required at Cincinnati. What So so the L.A. Rams are playing the Cincinnati Bengals. Yeah, there's nothing required. It's Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:09:27 What is so special about this? Is this sacred covid ground we're on? Like what what goes on? Right. It's like you see what they're doing in Florida. You see what they're doing in Texas. You're seeing what they're doing in open states and nothing is happening. Right. So what is your what's your your... What's your position? What's your rationale?
Starting point is 00:09:46 Well, it can only be to subjugate. That's it. That's all. There is no proof. There's nothing. By the way, we got hit harder than a lot of these places. In all of our compliance with bullshit. But I kind of like this because it really shows the Emperor has no clothes Yeah, it really shows the arbitrariness of these policies and how flimsy they are how empty they are and how unfair they are
Starting point is 00:10:13 How inappropriate they are Yeah, I just it's really hard to live with I'm more more more people I got it so many people I know in our movement to Tennessee and Texas. I can't believe it Florida I'm just disgusted, but I'm disgusted at everybody look When they when they said tin horn flats was outdoor dining was closed down. I fucking got my son I said we're going out to tin horn flats tonight Not because I'm a Hero, it's the right thing to do. Yeah, you're shutting down a 50 year old family-run business based on no data
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, we need to push back against no you should be just they we why that's not now a criminal Complaint of something where's mr. Garagos? We need he's working on it. There's no sympathy for tin horn flats. Why? That's because we're living amongst sheep and cowards. That's why That's because we're living amongst sheep and cow herds. That's why That's why They don't have any thoughts about it. It's weird. It should be disgusting I go in on a rant. I would go on a rant about it like in between brian and jean and they just sort of look at me Like they don't have thoughts about it
Starting point is 00:11:19 There no one's pissed off about it If they destroyed they destroyed their business. They destroyed a family. Based on pseudo-science. Or no science. Hey, listen, do you remember my preoccupation with the businesses around Disneyland? I was very preoccupied with that eight to 12 months into the pandemic when you had Disney World open and Disneyland not just closed, but all the surrounding businesses locked down.
Starting point is 00:11:48 And you literally, I mean those were thousands of businesses and God knows how many lives were ruined. And by the way, how do you recover from that? What is their plan? Are they not gonna support the recovery or help people climb out from that? No business should have ever shut down. They should all just said no.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I said it a million times. You saw what they did. They were finding people and sending police out. I can't do it times everyone. That's the whole point. What will happen next time is the question. As of November there are four stadiums with Vax mandates. Okay. Let's see if we can name them. Seattle. Sofi, Seattle, San Francisco. San Francisco. Detroit?
Starting point is 00:12:30 Might be Detroit. Yeah, maybe Detroit. Because they have a governor who's very blue. Maybe Chicago. Oh yeah, Chicago. Yeah. Just whatever. Whoever's run by some dingbat chick.
Starting point is 00:12:43 New England? Could be Massachusetts. So they've a little more sane there, strangely. Yeah. Mm-hmm. You got them? Well, Amy, I'll try to figure it out. All right, do your business there, Drew.

Starting point is 00:14:30 King Center. Well, they're a dome, so maybe there's something. I was in the Smoothie King Center for 20,000 people. It's where the hockey and the basketball play. And comedy show? Not a mask. Not a mask anywhere. 20,000,000 people with the mayor present and I thought she had just undone the mask Band-aid that day.
