In the middle of the night, two pilots were killed at LaGuardia Airport in New York after an Air Canada Express regional jets collided with a fire truck, a port authority fire truck, while landing in New York's LaGuardia Airport late last night. The two pilots of the plane were killed and dozens of people were injured in this collision. The airport will be shut down today until 2 p.m. Eastern time, according to officials at LaGuardia, and this disruption is coming. at one of the United States busiest domestic airports and time of the year.

Just to back up, every single American should find this incredibly concerning and incredibly terrifying. For a personal anecdote, my parents are flying back from an international trip in just a few days. I want them to be safe. For another personal anecdote, I spent seven hours at LaGuardia Airport just about two or three days ago. If you guys have seen my CNN hits, I'm doing those in New York City. I stayed at LaGuardia.

And dude, it's already kind of stressful traveling, right, for every American. Now, this added layer of stress coming from the Republicans, coming from the Trump administration, needs to stop immediately. I hate to immediately talk about the politics of this all, but the reality is it is inherently political. Donald Trump is currently delaying the refunding of TSA for political purposes, and I will prove that throughout this video. So as always, make sure you drop a like.

Two dead after jet collides with a truck at LaGuardia Airport. It's almost unbelievable. Like, this is like, it's one of my worst fears, to be honest, when I'm taking off or landing. I always think, okay, I hope everything goes smoothly in the takeoff in the landing section. And this is just two pilots of Air Canada Express plane were killed, official said,

and dozens of passengers and crew members were hospitalized. The FAA says the airport will be closed until at least 2 p.m. this afternoon. We have a quick video right here. It's not graphic or anything, but it shows an Air Canada plane on its tail with his head up. And then if it zooms in right here, you can see for a moment, I don't know if we get a zoom in. Yeah, there we go, that the entire front of the plane is collapsed down. So you can, you can picture how the pilots at the very front would have gotten the worst of it. I mean, it's really making me sick. I can, I can play for you in just one moment. the audio of it happening in the moment,

but I do want to show you the news that we just got about TSA funding, because if we just back up, for the past 37 days, the Department of Homeland Security has been shut down. And a part of that is TSA. Another part of it is ICE, but the main part that's affecting most Americans right now is the TSA shutdown. Now, a lot of workers are still showing up

because they don't want to get fired, and really quickly, I'm grateful to every single TSA worker who continues to show up. I was trying to say thank you to as many as I could when I was in O'Hare Airport and the Guardia Airport. It's genuinely putting a lot on the line for no pay right now. But 37 days into this shutdown and Republicans continually vote down a standalone bill that Democrats put up to fund TSA. Democrats have put this bill up seven times now. Seven times they've said, hey, we will fund TSA with this bill. You just have to vote on it. Then we can negotiate on

ice, so they're not wearing masks in killing people with no accountability. It's, it's not a revenue problem. We have the revenue. It's an accountability problem. We need to hold the people who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretty accountable. I feel less safe. I feel like my parents are less safe on a daily basis when the people who killed Alex Prady and Renee Nicole Good are still walking around on the streets. The country is less safe as a whole. But just, I want to read this to you. This is from Punch Bowl News. They're a huge news outlet on Capitol Hill. They said news. With the DHS shutdown, now when it's 37th day, Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune approached Trump with a new proposal on Sunday at the urging of his Senate Republican colleagues and even some White House aides.

Thune told Trump that Senate Republicans would support funding all of DHS except ICE, which is exactly what Democrats are asking for. They're saying, hey, we want to fund everything. We just can't continue to fund the domestic police force that Trump is using to kill people. Like, that's a little bit of a red line. I would say that's a little bit of a red line. Trump using ICE as a domestic police force to send in the cities. We have to defund it. We have to make sure there's at least accountability. Thune told Trump that Senate Republicans would support funding all of DHS except ICE, which is the agency at the center of the bitter partisan dispute over Trump's immigration crackdown. Ice funding could be handled later in a party line reconciliation bill. Democrats would accept the offer, said the South

Dakota Republican, John Thune. Democrats would wouldn't get some of their chief demands like banning masks or federal agents or requiring judicial warrants if reconciliation were used. Plus, TSA agents would also get their paychecks and the security line madness at airports would end. But Trump said no. Read the highlighted portion right here. Trump said no, according to multiple sources. He does not want to fund it. The president wants Republicans to stay in D.C. and keep fighting with the Democrats over DHS funding and the Save America Act, the GOP's voter ID and proof of citizenship bill. Not only that, Trump warned that he'd publicly slam Senate Republicans at they left town for the upcoming recess. Trump also said he'd invite

all the GOP senators and their families for Easter dinner at the White House. Some Republicans took that as a threat rather than a reward. I want to remind you all that today is a day Trump is supposed to be sending ICE agents to airports in order to conduct security. I was going to mention that earlier in the video, but I just wanted to make sure I properly and respectfully reported the news of the two pilots passing away on the tarmac, just so incredibly sickening. And it happened at LaGuardia Airport. This is a place that many Americans fly through all the time, including me, just hits very, very close to home. But yes, today is the day Donald Trump is supposed to be sending ICE agents to our airports to, I don't know, grab people, detain people,

check their IDs. I mean, I'm going to show you his own post from about two or three days ago. yesterday he made an official announcement, but this is the post that I find uniquely scary. He says, if the radical left Democrats don't immediately sign an agreement to let our country, in particular our airports be free and safe again, I will move our brilliant and patriotic ice agents to the airport where they will do security like no one has ever seen before, including the immediate arrest of all illegal immigrants who have come into our country with heavy emphasis on those from Somalia. He then invokes Ilhan Omar. I don't even know what this random rant is,

but I'm reading this as he wants to racially profile people in the airport. He's not talking about TSA agents checking your ID when you walk in. He's talking about ICE agents checking people's IDs when they're landing. I mean, we already don't feel safe in our airports, in America. People are already struggling. Airports are already rather stressful. And you want to add ICE agents roaming and patrolling around. Again, here's the video of the Air Canada plane.

98. Vehicle 98, uh, police show at this time. Runway 422 is closed. I repeat, runway 422 is closed at this time. Tower, uh, car 90, LaGuardia airport is closed at this time. Okay, so they closed down LaGuardia airport.

I mean, listen, this is one of my worst fears. This is very scary. This is the worst fear of many Americans who are flying and traveling very regularly. Matthew on Twitter says, an initial impression listening to this ATC radio, the air traffic controller radio. It would appear one controller was simultaneously working ground and directing aircraft,

as evidenced by go-around instructions to Delta after accident. This raises serious concerns about staffing or staffing shortages. Now, the investigation will still be ongoing. This happened not even 12 hours ago, so we don't know the exact cause, but you can reasonably assume that staff shortages, not only with air traffic controllers, but TSA agents and people working throughout the airport could cause, could lead to a strained workflow and could lead to something like this.

And just to back up, again, Trump is the one who has been escalating saying he's going to send ice to our airports. He's the one who's been saying, do not vote for this bill that funds TSA. Let's continue to fight this. In my opinion, I think it's because this is one fight that he thinks he's on the right side of. So he's lost the fight with the war. I mean, he's struggling there, lost with the Epstein files. He's lost with the tariffs, lost with almost everything. So he probably thinks maybe if he puts up a fight over airports, it'll make him look good.

But the reality is 99% of Americans are going to blame the current administration and power. That's how Americans think. They blame the current people in power. And that's Republicans in all chambers and the presidency and the Supreme Court. You guys have no excuses for shutting down our airports and making us less safe. on a day-to-day basis. So we're seeing some serious manifestation of Trump's presidency, making us less safe all at once. Of course, it has been less safe for every American for over a year, especially for minority Americans, for women. But it feels like all of the sudden it is manifesting

in everyone's day-to-day lives very rapidly. Just at the beginning of the year, the ACA subsidies expired. I know people whose health care premiums tripled. That hurts people. And just over the past few weeks we've seen gas prices spike. It's hurting everybody I know. Like it's manifesting into everybody's lives. And then everybody I know who travels is beginning to complain to me, wait a minute. Why is the airport shut down? Why is this so chaotic? So again, it's affecting so many damn people.
